- Shamus: Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the Pork Roll and Cheese Podcast. My name is Seamus. ⁓ And we would like to welcome Jason from the exciting and new podcast to the show. Herbie: I'm Herve. Jason: Thank you, I'm Jason. Pretty good, thanks for having me. really am looking forward to it. Herbie: Yeah, this is awesome that you hear. Shamus: Yeah. And we also want to congratulate you guys, the exciting and new podcast on our 400th episode. Jason: Thank you. It just dropped the other day. It was our 400th episode. was actually a mini episode. So we basically just talked about that. We had a few questions and everything. We went over our top scores for our movies and everything. So I think I had like 14 or 15 movies that were in the 90s. yeah, it's a good time. Herbie: Nice. Shamus: Yeah, from what I heard though, they were all really good movies. I mean, like we, heard the list. I was like, man, that's all the movies I like. Jason: and do anything's too stupid, you know what mean? And that's the thing, like, you gotta, when you're doing that, I'll think about like a horror movie I'm watching, I'll be like, but I like 10 other horror movies better than this one, I don't wanna get this one too high of a score, so that's why I make sure I try to give it, you know, an average score that's decent and I can work with, because you end up giving Police Academy one a high score, maybe you Police Academy two better, you know, and then you're like, I can't give this a 95, it's Police Academy, it should be in the 70s. Herbie: Sure. Like in three you get to see your jugs, I was like maybe. Jason: Thank you. We're looking forward to the next 400. Shamus: Yeah, you guys, uh, you, Andy and Dana do an amazing job at review movies. Obviously that's what the podcast about. If you guys haven't listened to it or anything, you should, uh, that what they do is they review movies and they also, you know, they do these mini pods where they tell you about what they're watching and what's going on and all that stuff. And I love listening to your podcast. Cause you know, when the podcast is good is when you start talking to yourself, when you're listening to it. Yeah. There's times like I'll listen and I'm like, yeah, that's pretty, that on like, but episode four, one, I got, I got issues with. Jason: I've that in the car many a times, yeah. because that was that cool. Shamus: Yeah, y'all gave it a 50. And I was like, oh my God, that was my movie. Jason: Yeah, I mean, I enjoyed watching the movie, but like I said, I had a lot of problems with the plot holes in the movie and that there was a lot cut out in the movie. If there was that if there was a cut where you could watch all those cut scenes, I think I probably would have given it a higher score. But Marion Cabretti just couldn't do it. Shamus: Well, it wasn't him as much. I loved his partner in it. Yes. The Spanish guy. Yes. I never liked that bitch. And was like me. Jason: That's Poppy from Sci-Fi. Shamus: Yes, I felt like I didn't even realize that he was also on private parts. He was a pig vomits buddy. Yeah. Jason: Yeah, he's a Rennie Santoni, I believe his name is. But yeah, I love that guy. Herbie: I love like a movie that's like it's it's you'll rewatch it but you're not gonna have like like we were talking about before like if it's on regular TV no matter when it was on or like if it's in the middle of the movie you're like okay it's all watch it yeah this ain't the movie like Jason: Yeah Shamus: Not me, Not me. That's one of those movies like Commando. was just like, dude, I'm going to come in here. When I saw Cobra, I was just like, definitely want to be a cop now, dude. And I did all that because of those movies. Jason: No, I'll come- That's cool that that that that like brought you to your profession. That's pretty cool. I like that. ⁓ Shamus: That was realistic. I found out later. Herbie: Real life. Shamus: I figured I'd be driving around in a 50 Merc, you know, chop top and shooting all these gang bangers. Jason: That was actually Sly's car. Yeah, actually own that car. So they think they made like three or four. Shamus: I think one of the expendable movies he had is truck like the truck he drives and it's his truck, too Jason: He's got one of those massive trucks. think it looks yes. Am I right? Yes. Herbie: Probably like four foot. Shamus: Mad Max kind of trucks. Jason: He's not too big. think he's like 5'8 maybe. Herbie: Well, yeah, he's definitely a lot taller than me then. Really? Shamus: My father looked just like that dude. Yes. Like if you saw pictures of my dad, like right before he passed away and Sylvester Stone when he was doing like the last Creed movie when he was down and filming, my brother was just like, holy shit man, have you seen it? And he showed it to me and I was like, ⁓ my god. Are you my grandfather? Yeah, my grandfather was like, ⁓ my god, why does Jimmy look like? Jason: father Shamus: rocky. Like they're the same build the same height everything. I was a lot bigger than my dad muscled wise but like yeah it was it was uncanny. So but obviously the exciting a new podcast reviews movies. Like I said if you haven't listened to it give it a listen if you like movies these guys are on top of their game and great what they do. Jason: Yeah. That's cool. Herbie: They know a lot of facts too. Jason: Yes, we have a lot of special guests you guys have both been on. Yeah Luchano, do you remember your first one you came on? Shamus: Came on the first one was commando because you guys need a military guy to come in Fright night was my second I love that movie Yeah, all right before we get two more deeper into this podcast We need to remind everybody that Jason appears courtesy of Big Bob's wax carrots. No carrots too big No carrots too small Big Bob waxes them all get your free consultation today and tell the boys from pork roll sent you nice so Jay, where do your Jason: an expert. Herbie: How much is? That's great. Jason: We'll be having you on again soon. Shamus: Where does your love of movies come from? Jason: Just as a kid, mean, like, you know, have an HBO early on. remember seeing Airplane like when it first was on HBO and just like loving that movie and just like. HBO would play movies over and over and over again, so you would see him a bunch of times. And before you know your quote, you know, so there's so many of them. Midnight Madness was one of my favorite. Herbie: Definitely. and you just. I got it on TV. Jason: I do as well. Eddie Deason is one of my favorites. I just love that guy. know, early Pee Wee Herman's in there as well, you know? And obviously a young Michael Fox before the J in his name. Movie, but yeah, just watching movies as a kid like that, just really, you know, and then I always like we always people I worked with and everything we'd like. Herbie: Yeah, New York. I didn't realize, like, did Dave Fox do that? Jason: We would watch the same movies and everything. We would talk about them. We just always discuss and be like, like this. I like this. I like this. And then he's like, we should do something. And that's how we form the pod. Herbie: Well, this is the same thing with me, man. Like, you know, with HBO, like our generation, HBO was like the mecca of like movies, man. So either you went from like, either you watch the movies in the movie theater and then like when the home box office, you HBO came out, it like, you didn't have to go anywhere. And then like VHS sales and stuff like that. So. Jason: It would have the Saturday night movie for the first time. And I remember going to the movie scene, like early movies like Goonies. Herbie: Yeah, a lot of times it roll out quickly. Like it was in the movie theaters for a little while, it come to HBO and maybe within the six months. So it was perfect. Jason: then when you would when you would like go to the video store, you'd rent VHS and everything. But then when you could first buy VHS, remember like ET was like ninety nine dollars VHS tape. Yeah. And thinking like, wow, it's so cool to have that. You and then we got our first VCR and you had the controller had like a wire wire. Yeah, you know, you had the. Herbie: Click Jason: Clean in the heads and everything, you know. Just if it got really bad, that would be the only time I would do it and it was usually the tape that got bad not necessarily the vco Shamus: Well, I think in the beginning, a lot of people did it. But then when VCR prices came down to where they were only like $75 or 100 people are just like, yeah, just throw it out and get a new one. But yeah, like in the beginning, you know, they were, they were like $500, $600. Oh, they were very, very Jason: Yeah, yeah, be like, uh, that's like a special gift, know, it's like you were getting Nintendo when you were a kid or Atari. I remember when got the click of vision. Yeah, it's a good time. I have mine too, Shamus: I have mine. It's still upstairs. Herbie: ⁓ my god, like was the Commodore? I that was the first one that actually had the pause button on the controller. Jason: I had the Commodore 64. I remember playing the cassettes. said and it was like beach. It was like storming a beach at Normandy. Shamus: I love that because I'm the same way you guys were growing up as a kid, man. When we got HBO, I was kind of hooked. Like, was like, man, this is amazing. But just recently they bought back the original. But you remember, like all the stars shooting into the day and then goes through the neighborhood and all that stuff like that. Dude, I got chills sitting on my couch. I was like six years old again. I was like, ⁓ my God, this is all. They actually bring it back now, ⁓ Jason: to to to to to around the circle. It's just. Shamus: All this presents your feature presentation. I was like, ⁓ my. Jason: And then all of a sudden creep show would come on and you get really excited. Oh, just watched Creepshow 2 the other day. Herbie: That's it. Actually, like Creepshow. Creepshow 3 was like... Jason: I didn't see three but creep show two should have it only had three stories the original five stories, but the three stories they were good Yeah, the one thanks for the ride the hitchhiker. Yeah It was Herbie: Thanks for the ride, lady. Shamus: I can't remember two, I remember one. Herbie: Yeah, two. Jason: Who started off with the Indian, the cigar store in. Herbie: You Shamus: ⁓ I, well, that was on your, what we were watching thing, but I was just trying to think. Jason: The the blob on the wrath. Herbie: There were just like eight people, dissolve people. were like college students, like, were in the middle of this lake. Jason: like a raft or like little like wooden planks out there like the blobs coming through the giant and everything. Herbie: I'm just. Shamus: The first one was at home. My sister was when we were kids, like every Friday, my dad would pick us up from school. We'd stop and get a pizza like he would order pizza. And then we would stop at, you know, Blockbuster, West Coast Video or like even Riverside had like RS video again. And she'd pick a movie. I'd pick a movie and then he'd pick one for my mom. Yeah. My sister always said to our thing. I always did the action or comedy thing. Me and my brother and then my dad would, you know, like fucking beaches or something. But ⁓ Yeah, and like I said, when we had to watch her shit, like Creepshow, I was just like, man, is... The original Creepshow was amazing. I don't think I've ever seen two. I had no idea they put out... Herbie: Two is actually a... Watch, yeah. ⁓ Jason: I mean, the series. Yeah, I didn't watch the series. I believe it's on shutter. It's got a few seasons, I have not watched. really? Shamus: Yeah. I was going to say, because I know like in the eighties, they had like that Freddy's nightmare thing. Friday the 13th. I had nothing to do with Jason Voorhees. Like was like TV. Jason: There's a new Friday the 13th coming out later this year. Linda Cardellini is going to be in really? I love her. Herbie: I tried giving like the what is it the Friday 13th the series a chance but like a lot of times now it's like on not comment TV so just like Antique shop and like there's a lot of cursed items in there and it kind of you know, they all got a track out ⁓ Jason: I'm forward to the new one that's coming out. I hope it's worth it. Shamus: Is it? Is it because I think I told the story before I don't know if it was like on one of the podcasts we were just practicing or something like that. But is it Kane Hodder playing because I was I was at a monster con. He came through the crowd and like the movie outfit to do his photo ops. Jason: But that dude's huge. ⁓ I asked him for the photo op, that'd be pretty cool, yeah. Herbie: Especially when you get like the autographs, you don't really see like them and like their character outfits or nothing like that, man. So like that is just like. Jason: the chance to see him like that is really cool. Yeah. And that would be really scary too, just because the guy's just a huge. Yeah, the huge presence by himself without it. then when he has it on, it's even crazier. He's a big deal. Shamus: Well, you've seen them like that. I mean, you've to a ton of them. Thanks. Herbie: I was like, wow. Memories, man. It's like, don't even care. Like I like you can, I can watch Friday the 13th, the first one, like on regular TV. It could be brightest day like it is right now. And that very last scene where Jason pops out and grabs a girl from the, it still just creeps me the hell out. There's just like that whole music and stuff, dude. I'm like, Oh, it's coming. Jason: from the. I like part two because he's wearing a burlap bag. He's not even wearing a mask. It's part three when the mask comes in. But yeah, I love that. Herbie: Yeah, and still had like, and he still jumped through like the window in the second one and just saw his face like- Jason: For this Halloween where our horror of thon will be doing a Friday the 13th part 6 Jason lives So we got that one coming up Then you got the crazy ones where it's Jason ⁓ and Jason in space Shamus: I remember seeing that, but I can't remember. You know, listen, that is one of my favorite scenes of any horror movies. What he's walking down the street somewhere in like Manhattan. Yeah. And he knocks over this boombox and like all the ⁓ three or four black guys out there are all big and they're like, Yo, my man, what's up? And he turns around. He just holds up his mask. Yeah. Like, Yo, we cool. We cool. Herbie: And walked away. You know, like when you like literally like punch the dude's head off, like the guy was just like nailing him like boxing wise and stuff like that. Just tired him out. He just like just popped his head off. Oh, was great. Jason: you Shamus: Well, speaking of Kane Hodder and Monster Con things, ⁓ because you love movies so much, I'm assuming, well, I know you can tell the people listening, all two of them. Like you go to those things all the time. So do you have like a favorite like autographs? Because I know you got thousands of them. Jason: you I have to say one of my favorite autographs isn't even at a convention. It was a book signing I got to meet Ozzy. So that was really cool Wow, but I mean Ozzy didn't even really look up He was looking down, but it was just cool to be in his presence. no doubt. Yeah, but one of my favorites is Which I'm gonna call it from ⁓ Adams family Gomez I mean him. Yeah, John Aston Yeah Herbie: ⁓ really? Jason: I got to meet him and he was at Chiller Theater and I went up to him and I got him to sign. He was ⁓ on the original Batman with Adam West and he was the Joker. Excuse me, he wasn't the Joker, he was the Riddler. And I had him sign that. Yeah, before, ⁓ whatchamacallit, that I can't Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: He was the Riddler in the- Herbie: The Overbroad is a, yeah, this gets a lot of characters in the beginning. Jason: But he only did it for one episode, but he was the Riddler and I had him sign that and he asked me my name when he asked me my name. It's just sound. He sounds like Gomez because I wasn't a fake voice. Yeah, it was his voice. And he said, and I said, Jason, and he was like, Jason, you know, and it's just here and say my name. I was just like, you got chill. Shamus: ⁓ yeah. That's the same dude who played Harry Stone's father in night court, right? Yes. And he was just like, I'm feeling much better now. Cause he would do the same thing in night court. He sounded just like Gomez from. Jason: Yeah. Awesome. Yeah. Herbie: Thank you. Yeah, he didn't have to do anything, man. Just be himself. It was great. Jason: And his son is he was married to Patty Duke for a while. He and her son was Sean Astin from. Rudy, yeah, OK, yeah. Good times, you know, who was like that's why I love when you just say your name and you think of like we thought of three different movies with that same character. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. Samwise. Yeah. Rudy. Great movie, too. Everything connects like we said, but like we all grew up at the same age where it was just like watching HBO. It was all these movies every month that would have like specific movies get excited for. Yeah. Even with the VCR stuff like, you know, Friday night, you're like, you know, the family would rent like maybe four or five like video cassettes. And then you'd have a. Jason: Yeah! weekend you know you were saying you're like I'm gonna watch troll too Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: And that and I think on one of your episodes, you guys were talking about how like the Oscars, like every movie from like in the 70s was like bang. ⁓ yeah. That's a monster movie. Monster. But now when you get to like nowadays, you're just like, what the hell is La La Land or, you know, what the hell is and you're just kind of like. Jason: They 10 movies now instead of five when you had five you had five bangers. Yeah, I mean it's like but now it's like 10 movies You're like I saw six of them. I think this year added a top ten, One battle after another was a great movie. Did you see that? Herbie: It's cool that they do it again. Jason: see that. Very good. It's one best picture. But I thought Sinners was great with Michael B. Jordan. Shamus: It's actually streaming now, so I'm going to pick that up. was in that category too. Jason: Check that out, you'll like that. It's really good, man. I thought the scenes with the racing were incredible. Shamus: Oh, if you saw an IMAX, I saw an IMAX whole. That and when Top Gun Maverick came out, I like, IMAX, got to see, there's certain movies you to see. And both of those were done by the same director and amazing. And IMAX, was amazing. Jason: whoo. I enjoy Top Gun Maverick. think I like that one more than the original Top Gun. ⁓ Shamus: My nephew said that too. Really? Herbie: No leash, no me. Shamus: Well, he was someone from the military and I was just like, yeah, you want to go see Tom Come Out? And he was like, I've never seen the original. And I was just like, wow, your mom sucks, dude. Sit down. So we watched the original here and then we went to go see it in the theater. And he was just like, I think I like this second one. Jason: I mean, they were very similar. sequel came out what 40 years later yes you know like 38 years later or whatever but it did well I thought it did good yeah so yeah I would say that's probably one of my favorites so I'm trying to think of who else I met that I really enjoyed see I mentioned Beverly D'Angelo when I met her I was wearing American Werewolf in London shirt and it had a Griffin Dunn on it on the front, you know, so she thought it was she thought she said that looks like my ex-husband to her ex-husband is Al Pacino. don't know. Yeah. And I said, no, it's not him. She's like, oh, because it was like all bloody. Yeah. I was like, I won't wear that to you. It's your ex-husband. I wouldn't be worried like that. But one of my least favorite. Shamus: Yeah, I was gonna say there's got to be one or two that you were just like. Jason: And it kind of made me mad because I love this band and I met Marky Ramone. he really, yeah, he was a total dick, just like rude and like, what do you want me to sign? I was like, I got it right here. I'm giving it to you. Relax, you know? And he's just like real quick, took the picture and everything. I should have ripped his wig off. You know what I mean? I love the Ramones, but I was like, you know, you weren't even the original drummer. I mean, Tommy is the original drummer, so. Herbie: You ever think like, your role is like, get like a little agitated, like, you know, this is, so this is my career. I'm at a, I'm at a comic con to sign an autographs, know, normally they're used to back in the day, like they're at the trailer and like a bunch of groupies and stuff and coming in screaming and stuff like that. Meanwhile, you got a bunch of people like our age waiting in line. Can you sign this for me? Jason: Okay. Well, another one of my favorites was Mr. Body from Clue leaving. ⁓ really? He's in the band Fear. I don't know if you ever heard that band. Fear, one of my favorite bands are coming. The Broken Goblet over in P.A. He's in his mid 70s now, but they're still playing great. I just love the band. But Mr. Body, you know, Mr. Body was from ⁓ Clue. Yeah. But he was there and I got a picture of and him were like giving the finger. ⁓ Herbie: That's cool. ⁓ Jason: But that was a really cool one. And I met Huey Lewis. There's so many of them. Now I'm trying to think of them. Shamus: I know you got like thousands. ⁓ I it's Herbie: was saying earlier every time I like he posts something on Facebook and there's like there's like 30 pictures of every put on my god damn it. I'm at work. Jason: Adrian Zemed from TG Hooker and ⁓ Shamus: for a party. One of my favorite. Herbie: Thank you, man. Jason: Let's see I'll go through here and see if I can pull up a Figures my phones acting all stupid now. Here we go ⁓ Garrett Morris from Saturday Night Live and met him ⁓ Geraldo Rivera No, Linda Blair, I might Michael Matson right before he passed. ⁓ really? Herbie: Jesus, how are they? Shamus: He was one of my favorite actors that guy was an icon of cool like Newman You know, ⁓ McQueen. Yeah, Matt like those guys Herbie: this call. Jason: Corey Feldman. I love them though. He was really cool. I'm teaching Chang. let's see. ⁓ Juliette Lewis. She was awesome. Here's me and leaving from fear. Given the finger. Herbie: That's dope. Shamus: right there. Jason: I met Webster, Emanuel Lewis, the kids from the Christmas Story, ⁓ Marcy from Married with Children. She was in Fright Night. Let's see. Larry from Perfect Strangers, Jenny Garth, Frankie Avalon, Kevin Dillon. Shamus: Darcy. ⁓ drama. Herbie: This is what I'm telling you this why every time when he posted stuff Shamus: You've seen that, right? You watched, ⁓ Jason: Let's see, I'm at the cast of the Wonder Years, everybody except Fred Savage and Danica McKellar. I got Richard Dreyfuss. He was awesome. I met AJ and Meadow from The Sopranos, Dreya Di Matteo from The Sopranos. Gorgeous. Shamus: He's the only one I want. Herbie: Yeah, she's really cool too man, like other people that have seen her like she's really nice. Jason: Adrian Barbeau, love her. Clint Howard. He was awesome. Ron Howard's brother. Gilbert Gottfried, I at a comedy show. I the Willy Wonka kids. I Peter Mayhew. know him. Chewbacca. Let's see. Barbara Eden, Scott Ian from Anthrax. The guys from Chips. Eric Estrada, John Wilcox. Herbie: ⁓ Shamus: Yeah, that would have been cool. Jason: Lou Ferrigno, Burt Reynolds. That's one of my favorites, ⁓ I just remembered another one of my favorites, Henry Winkler. Shamus: is an icon. Herbie: ⁓ my, ⁓ yeah, always wanted me to hit that. Jason: is so awesome. gave us the biggest hug when we met him. He was so sweet. Shamus: You know, his love for Henley Wrinkler runs so deep that he hates, absolutely hates Tom Hanks. Like wishes death upon. Jason: Tom Hanks had Henry Winkler fired from a movie with the dog. Turner and who? Yeah, really? Yeah. Henry Winkler was directing that and Tom Hanks got him fired. Herbie: Really? Shamus: It was like. Herbie: Hooch? You know what? because it's like when I was a kid, I used to love happy. There's pictures of me as a baby wearing a Fonzie and I'm walking around like, hey, we're in a diaper. Just like, hey, yeah, Fonzie was. ⁓ Jason: Paperboy when I was like a young kid and he would come up and he would always say hey when we were giving him the money Shamus: brother's phone screen saver. Jason: I met Andrew Dice Clay. Let's see. ⁓ Kelly LeBrock from Weird Science. ⁓ no, she did not. ⁓ Evan Peters from American Horror Story. Him. ⁓ The human centipede amid all three parts. ⁓ man. Herbie: cool. Shamus: Did not age well. Herbie: Really? That's great. I met all three parts. Were they still attached or? Jason: They weren't attached but two of them were chicks and they were really cool. Shamus: I'd love to be the guy in the middle of that. Jason: Getty with Tannaby from 16 Candles. Herbie: Yeah, he was also in the dark. Yeah. There was like there's like there's like a low budget like movie he was in. It was called Vamp with a grace. All that move. Jason: That's this year we do that this year 86 yeah I think we will Robert Hayes from airplane Ralph Macchio George Romero that was awesome Herbie: It's definitely. It's great. Shamus: Well, you should have herby on for that. Herbie: I know. Cause I met him sometimes at some of the. Jason: Me and George the animal steal. I was at a book signing. Shamus: Really? Herbie: I swear to God, like, that guy does not age. He looked like that, like, when I was a kid, Jason: He was, yeah, that was just really cool. Shamus: It's like, what is such an awesome. Listening to this and you know who George Animal Steel is like, you know, that picture is basically what you're thinking about George Animal Steel. Yeah, it looks like he's getting ready to bite your head. Herbie: Dude, when he used to chew on the turnbuckles. Yeah. Just gnawing on it like rock. Jason: I met the Hansen brothers from Slapshot. All three of them, Herbie: Oh god, all three of them? Ah dude, dude they got the jerseys on. Jason: Yeah, they were the glasses and everything is cool. I met the Willy Wonka kids. It's we'd Kaufman from Troma. Troma movies, you to have a special thing. Dana is not a big fan of ⁓ our Troma movies when we get to the Troma movies. Avenger, did that. So. The top is a new one that's out. It's really. Yeah, it's really good. Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon's in there as well. Yeah, really good. Shamus: They still look like that too. Herbie: Yeah, trauma. I like trauma. I still love him. love toxic. Shamus: Yeah. Is that the one with Peter Dinklage? Herbie: I cheat a lot of times like I'll go on YouTube and like. Shamus: I totally forgot about that. knew it came out, but I totally forgot because my buddy, the guy who's coming on for the woodwork and things, huge stock to vendor guy. Like, and he mentioned it and I totally forgot to watch it. Herbie: Those are like the movies that either come on late late at night. ⁓ yeah. You know, and then you'd be like. Jason: You have to have the DVD. You have to like purchase. Yeah, good stuff. Love that stuff. Yeah. But yeah, I mean, and then I got coming up, I'm to be meeting Heather Locklear, one of my favorite 80s movies, The Last American Virgin. Diane Franklin is going to be there. So I'm going to meet her and the kid that she she fucked over in that movie. He's going to be there. And then the chubby kid, I forget what his Joe Rubbo was his real name. Shamus: He's also in Federal Day. Herbie: Man, I miss Carmella in that movie, man. I forget her name, but she was the, the, the, was the, the lady that they all went to deliver the pizza to the Spanish lady. She's like, come to Carmella. ⁓ Shamus: Oh man, shut up. Jason: That was I know her name. She was a porn star. Not heavy dot. That's her name. Herbie: Yeah, she was also in Death Race. she was she was also in the movie. was. Yeah, she was. Wow. She did a movie with Sly Stallone and David Carradine. I think it was like Death Race or something like that. Jason: didn't think you were going to hear that name. Shamus: Definitely. Jason: Death Race 2000. Shamus: Even though all the remake was really good, too. But the original one was when he was a machine gun Kelly or something like that. Herbie: And he was like, Frank, yeah. Yeah, a great movie. ⁓ Jason: I enjoyed the new Frankenstein. Did see that man? I only picked the girl that said Mia Goth. I'm in love with her. Yeah, I thought it did. Yeah. Herbie: you Shamus: Does it stick to the book? Herbie: What about like the ones like alright who the people like that kind of like was like bummer when you got the autograph? Jason: Well, was Marky Ramone was bummer. John Ratzenberger was a sour puss. Yeah, he was he was just like his handler wasn't there, I guess. And we got we were in line. was like maybe second or third in line. Shamus: Really, Cliff? From Cherry? Jason: And the person went up to him and she was like, hey, and she's like, she wanted him to sign something. And he's like, well, my person's not here yet. And he's like, how much? She was willing to pay him. He's like, whatever, give it to me. So we just signed it. And then he took my my thing. He just signed it. And I was like, the pen he used, it was like it wasn't dark enough. I had him sign a Funko little pop Funko. Yeah. From I had him sign his Cliff Kleeven from Cheers. You know, so I was like and I was like, oh, that's like pretty crappy. And I was like, You know, I didn't give him any money, but I was just like, not cool, dude. You know, like, I know you're pissed off, Shamus: Best of my f- Herbie: Yeah, I think sometimes like the handlers either they they handle the money such as they handle like all the stuff really You know it's almost like the agent they handle the money, and they just you know distribute like what foot or what you're do to autograph and all that Shamus: What's the funny, because I've got a story, but I'll wait until you tell yours. What's the funniest thing you've ever seen, like with or any kind of interaction you've had with like an actor or anything like that where you both just laugh? Jason: the chick from ⁓ Friday the 13th part two Lauren Marie Taylor I had her sign a couple things and this was the second time I met her she did a little video clip for our podcast watch these guys on the exciting a new podcast so I Shamus: That's pretty cool, Herbie: She's the survivor of the second one, right? Jason: ⁓ She didn't survive. She was the one that wore the brown panties. Yeah. Yeah. Did you see In a Violent Nature? It's a fairly new movie. Yes. At the very end of that in the truck. Herbie: You know what dude not for nothing a lot of people said they didn't really like that move, but I like Yeah, they should Jason: You're making a second one. Shamus: If you get Dana to watch it, I'll watch it. Jason: trying to get Dana to watch that one. You remember that, don't you? I her that all the time. She won't watch it. Yeah. Really? But I love that movie. That one kill was insane. Where he pulls her head through. Yeah, I was just like, Jesus. Wow. And that's basically all it is, is he's walking through the woods killing. Herbie: Yeah, I've always thought about a movie like that, just like the killer's perspective, you know, I always thought about like, you know, every time they're doing stuff, you're wondering where's the killer at? What's he doing? How's he just popping out of stuff? Because he's just literally just wandering around, just running into people and then just murdering them. Jason: with him the whole time. Shamus: That's how my mind works. Like if you watch like the exorcist or like haunting or whatever like that, or you know, something where the house is haunted and like one scene like to go side and it disappears. What is that ghost doing in the meat? Like, is he like back in the break room or something like that? Or he like, he's like, I'm to do this real quick. Is I going get my taxes done and like shoot back there. Jason: Yeah, Amityville. ⁓ And he goes back there and he's like, you should have seen what I just did out there. Shamus: He's telling the other guys like, man, you see the look on that chick's face. Herbie: He might have other ghost players drinking beers out back. Shamus: I frozen one. Jason: I didn't like the one with the woman. That was horrible. Herbie: You got a shot. Jason: He's a kid from Stranger Things. dude. you seen? Watch it. Shamus: Get it? Herbie: I saw like the ending and stuff like that Shamus: Why? Because it ties right in. It doesn't include the females, but it ties right in like two. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. And it's it's amazing. The way they do it, man, is amazing because like the kids is like, yeah, the kids Google it. And on YouTube, they show footage of them in New York, like the battle for New York and all that stuff. And like, I was like, man, this is because I went in there skeptical. Yeah. But and as soon as you hear like, I was eight years old again and move it to. Jason: Man. It was really. That when you still go see it. Herbie: The warehouse is still there. Shamus: And then when you hear a flat top, I was like, total geek mode, dude. Like the girl I was sitting next to was just like, yeah, we're done after tonight. Yeah, this is amazing right here. Jason: This is my child. Herbie: Ghostbusters was this stuff, man. I'm telling you. Jason: really good. Shamus: That monster got things are all. Herbie: There's at least a couple of Ghostbusters. There's always guaranteed a couple of Marios running around and stuff. What was the one lady that you had a crush on as a kid in the movies and you got to finally meet? Jason: It's a me, a Mario! I would have to say it was probably Dre, Di Matteo was one of them and Jenny Garth from nine to two. I know I got to meet her. She was smoking. But another really cool one that I got to meet had maybe a crush on her in the 70s, probably Charo. Gucci, got her. Yeah, she I mean, I love the love. Yeah, obviously, because we podcast started with that, you know. But Chara was really nice and when I met her she was like she smelled like an older lady obviously, but like a lot of perfume. Yeah, but she was like really cool and just like Herbie: ⁓ man, she's a talented guitarist too man. yeah. She's very good. She's like incredible. Yeah. Jason: Absolutely. Shamus: I was at the one where they had the guys from Sons of Anarchy there. We were texting that day. We just couldn't meet up. Yeah. And I'm walking through, you know, like we're bottlenecks and stuff like that. All of a sudden, this door, the side door opens up and Emilio Rivera, the guy who plays the leader of the Mayans. Yeah. He comes. He's walking next to me. And I was just like, Hey, sir, how are you? And he was like, Hey, what's up? know, and like, I was like, man, can you believe this crowd? And he was like, Jason: ⁓ I met a bunch of those guys too. Shamus: It's Charlie man. You've been Charlie. Because Jack was there and he was like, it's Charlie man. He's already all this pussy comes to see that. They're here to see Jack's man. They're not here to see us. And I was like, yeah, they're not here to see us, dude. Jason: Yeah. I was that one but he wasn't Charlie wasn't there but it was like a bunch of the others TIG was there Chibs that's cool. And I remember They had their glasses on because they were out drinking a night before with a dude from ⁓ what's his name from walking dead I can't think of his name right now ⁓ Shamus: I do from the boondocks. Jason: Yeah, Boondock Saints. I met him. I can't think of his name, but I met him. Thank you. I met him and his autograph was thirty dollars. Two years later, his lines were insane and in charge of one hundred bucks. You know what I mean? So it's just like I'm glad I got him when I got him. Herbie: I'm Reedus. Shamus: Well, that's the same thing in the sports world too. Like, you know, when all these Eagles, like McNabb, when he was with the Eagles, it was ridiculous. And now you can get them for like 50 bucks. it's like, it's that role. Jason: People paid all that stuff back in the day. You're like, look at that. But now you can't even turn around and sell it for. Herbie: Yeah, Norman Reedus like he just blew up one yeah walking dead that character wasn't even exist in the comics Shamus: the other guy with the bat with the I've never seen an episode. Yeah, that guy like you could have got him like 15 bucks and then after that it was Jason: Yeah, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. That's who he is. But I watched the first five seasons of Walking Dead and then I gave up on it. But I love the comic. Yeah, I used to read the comic all the time. But then when the show just got too ridiculous and when Glenn was killed. Herbie: That's when I stopped. I think like after maybe I'll watch maybe two more seasons after that. You know when it started getting... I was like... Shamus: I've seen another. Jason: Yeah, I mean, the first one that first episode came out was black and white. It was awesome. was like, this is great. I'm really into this. You that first season was only six episodes. Yeah. You know, and I was like, this is great. Then you had the governor. Yeah. Scenes with the governor were great. And after that, it just slowly got worse and worse. And then it's like, I'm done with this. Shamus: Obviously we know why you guys started the Exciting a new podcast about movies. How long are you guys have been doing it? Jason: I was good with dates, I mean, 400 episodes. We've been doing it for about probably five years now, I would think. We started off, we were already exciting a new podcast, which is still what we're called now. We didn't change the name, but ⁓ we started off as a Love Boat podcast where we were watching each episode of the Love Boat and we discussed it. And we would have some of those episodes. We had a couple of episodes that were three hours long, like the episode with Al Molinaro. ⁓ Shamus: But it wasn't always movies though either, Jason: from Arnold said on Happy Days again, here we are with my Happy Days. But we had like a three hour podcast and it was just like, we got to a point where Andy was like, we're just gonna keep doing Love Boat. And I was just like, yeah, I love it. And he's like, let's do something different. So we thought of doing something different and then we were gonna do movies, just random movies. We were gonna pick a movie each week. And we had a different producer. This was before Dana was on the show. His name was Brian and he was on the movie with us, but he produced it mostly and he didn't want to talk so much. It was me and Andy doing a lot of the talking. And so we picked the movie. think I picked Clue. Andy picked like Police Academy and Brian picked Sharknado, which is our only missing episode. We can't find that episode. I hated it. Shamus: That's kind of movies my dad loved. He was right up his ass. Jason: Sharknado wasn't even good because it's the second one that has all the ⁓ cameos in. Like the first one didn't have all the cameos, know? So was like, this wasn't that great. But so after a while, Brian was like, he overproduced the show basically because he would like take we do an episode and he would take it home and he would listen to it eight, 10 times through the week, making changes, like all kinds of fixes and everything like that. his wife was getting sick of him listening to us here. She was hearing our voices all the time. She was getting annoyed by that, you know? So, and then it was just like, he said he wanted to start doing breaks in between. So he's like, we need a couple, we need weeks off. And we're like, we don't want to do that. We want to keep going. We don't want to have episodes missing and just like. still. He was, we were doing video, but we weren't releasing the video. OK, but we have a bunch of video that we have that we. Shamus: Was it video or audio? So he was editing that. Jason: He was editing that and but he was mostly editing the ⁓ audio and like he would listen to it and like he would like single me out and then he would just go through all my ups and lows and fix all my stuff. Then he would go to Andy's voice and do all he was All that stuff and everything. So he was really into it, you know, but it was like he was taking way too much time with that. And so we're like, don't do that. You don't need to do that. You know, just Andy does it now. He runs it through one thing, takes a couple of minutes and that's it. Yeah. Shamus: Sound engineer stuff. Yeah, that's what I did. Jason: We have to remove something, you know, if somebody said something we need to take out or whatever, but we don't usually have anything like that. Herbie: The is too is like even with your guys podcast you guys don't have any dead air or nothing like that. It's just Jason: Yeah, well, that's the thing we can talk and it's like we always talk over each other a lot of times too. it gets out of control sometimes. But then that would be we'd be talking over each other where if we had four people on me and Andy be talking and Brian would be talking to somebody else, he would do the separate conversations. You hear just this one and you just hear this. And it was like, that's too much. We didn't need all that. Herbie: That makes sense. Yeah. Not necessarily like for listeners, they're like, what the hell they just say. And I heard one's talking about Cobra and the other one's talking about clue. And there's another guy I think he's cracking a beer in the back. Jason: the Yeah, we had we have a lot of that podcast noises and stuff. I smoke a lot during the podcast So yeah, that's usually what I do or drop an edible, but Andy's always got his a liquor. He's usually drinking whiskey and Yeah, we just we really enjoy it's just a fun thing and like we have a lot of movies that we hate a lot of movies that we enjoy but like and then we have guest song we'd like to let them pick the movie for that they're gonna be on for and that gives us them they're gonna come on because they're excited, know, so excited and new Herbie: Yeah, exciting and new and stuff to talk about. Shamus: I'm curious, how did you guys come to like 40 years? Jason: That I asked Andy's to said it came up. just came up to him because I was like, we could have done 50 years, but he didn't want to start in the seven days. we started in 82 is when we really started doing the movies. So we didn't get all of 82. We got part of 82. So we need to go back and do 1980 and 1981. We haven't even done those yet. Right now, we're in middle of 86. And we're enjoying that. we're trying to do where we get like a lot of the good movies done. then because we were doing a lot of bad movies first and saving some of good ones. And then we ran out of time and we didn't get to some good movies. So but we'll do every now and then we'll do we'll go back to an old movie, too, because we did went back and did 1980s Midnight Madness. We did that one. And each Halloween, like we we do about 10 to 12 movies for Halloween. So last year we did a burnt offerings, which is from 1976. I love that movie. Herbie: Thanks. Jason: This year we're gonna be doing Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, because it's 86, but we're gonna do the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well. We didn't do that one yet, so if you guys want to come on for that one, maybe even yeah. I'm a big fan of horror movies, that's why we do, we extend Halloween basically we start in like September, maybe even late August we'll start. Shamus: You didn't do that before. Herbie: I love horror movies. Shamus: I think you guys have one in August when I different night. I think it was like there at the end of August. Jason: End of August through October and then that's all our Halloween and then if it's a Christmas movie like we had Christmas story I'm trying to think if we had any other Christmas movies that we did but not many but No, that's 88 I think I get there yet. Yep get there Shamus: Do you vacation? ⁓ okay. You haven't gotten there yet. Herbie: If you do another Christmas one, there's one I grew up with, it's called The Dog Who Stopped the War. It's a Canadian movie, it's like a kids movie. ⁓ it's great. Jason: Is this it? Herbie: The ending is sad, like it's just basically like these kids go on like a Christmas vacation and it's like the three nerd kids against the rest of the town of the cool kids and they built, they're doing, they call it a war. So it's basically a snowball fight and the nerd kids actually build a snow fort and the rest of the kids actually try to to attack it, but they got all these cool little gizmos and gadgets and stuff like it's just like, it's a cute kid's movie. Oh yeah, dude. It's, great. But like the ending said, Jason: on air. Herbie: It's a great movie, though. It's Canadian. No, it's a live action movie, but of course, it's also dubbed and stuff. So if you watch it, it's a boot. ⁓ yeah, it's great. just like making like armor and weapons out of like, you know, like cones and sticks and brooms. And it's just great. And they like they got hockey helmets and stuff. And there's they're like. ⁓ Shamus: It's definitely a movie, man. Herbie: They got like snowballs and they get like an engine they inject the snowballs with like paint and everything. It's just it's great It's a great movie. It's definitely like a fun Christmas kids movie that you definitely Yeah, great Got that on DVD too. So like I think a lot of people should actually get the movies on DVD because like you guys said before like if you can't stream it Yeah, it's gone Jason: Yeah. Yeah, like we couldn't find the last American Virgin for the longest time, but we found it online. So we had to like watch it that way. We have to do for this year. Lucas, we can't find that. It's not streaming anywhere. And you can't buy it. The DVD or the Blu-ray is like 200 bucks. Really? Yeah. That's where I was looking on eBay. It was like $200 for the Blu-ray. But like Lucas is one of those movies you think it would be out there. mean, you got Horry Haim, Charlie Sheen, know, Kerry Green. Herbie: you Shamus: Like even on eBay or anything like that? Herbie: is really, you know, I mean, even like, I don't know if you guys remember there was an old movie I got. It was called Fatso with Dom. I love. They're moving out on DVD took me forever. were. But. People like, what the hell are you guys talking about? Yes, it is a very old move. Jason: Fatso dude, that's one of my favorite. ⁓ Shamus: I love Dom Del and the cannonball run that dude's amazing. Jason: Bancroft? Yeah. Herbie: Yeah, in fact, I think Anne Bancroft directed the movie too. She did. Yeah. Yeah. And like before, it's like Mel Brooks. Yeah. I think like when I, this was like maybe before. Jason: Did. think it was 80. Shamus: I just saw them the other day on, ⁓ I was watching curb and they were doing the play, the producers. Jason: And I just wanted to like the play to fail. Shamus: They wanted him to die. He was like, that's why I pick Larry. He's a disaster. That guy can screw up anything. Jason: That's what David Schwimmer, it there? Ben Stiller. Herbie: I'm actually excited for like space balls to to come out, man. Jason: I'm looking forward to that too. I think that's next year. Yeah. Yeah, but I hope I hope he sticks around for you ⁓ Shamus: He looks pretty good. The power left there right there. ⁓ Herbie: Jesus Christ, good job, Jason: I think he still drives Herbie: No, that dude's immortal too, man. I swear to God Yeah, like they forget I don't know they might be part of like the original like the real Illuminati or something like that man Cuz they're just like ageless Shamus: My dad always said he'll live forever just because in the Dick Van Dyke show he didn't sleep with his wife they had separate beds. That guy's gonna live forever. He doesn't have the stress of her getting up and strangling him in the middle of the night. I'm like, man, what the hell's going on with you two? Jason: The first one with the beds were together, I don't know. It wasn't Lucy. think it was, I think it was in the 70s when they first had the beds together, like the Brady Bunch, they were in the bed together. know? haven't met any of Brady Bunch kids. That's one thing I gotta meet those guys. Herbie: Well, I'm surprised man, you met everybody else. I know. ⁓ Christ. Shamus: Do you have a favorite actor of all time or actress or? Jason: Like I said, right now I'm in love with Mia Goth. She's in those movies. I don't know if you saw X Pearl, Maxine, and she's in the new Frankenstein. She was in that. I love her. She was married to Shia LaBeouf for a little while. Really? Yeah. He's a nut now. Herbie: Yeah, my friends, actually, I think I said it before, like this past Mardi Gras, my friends were down in Mardi Gras. Yeah, they got a picture with him and stuff like that. think pre arrests and stuff like that. I'm like, God bless him, Jason: down there. Shamus: You got arrested twice. Jason: He was getting in fights and stuff, I love his chick. His chick is amazing. ⁓ No. She was at the Oscars the other night too, sitting there because Frankenstein was there. So I got to see her there. was like, ⁓ she looks great. Shamus: Are you still together? Okay. What about actor? Actor Jason: Hmm. Hmm. Well, you know, it's not Tom Hanks. I would probably say it is Henry Winkler is up there. I will put him up there as one of my favorites. But yeah, I mean, you got to love Schwarzenegger. mean, he had that great run. You know what I mean? Just yeah, I say Schwarzenegger and probably Henry Winkler probably up there is my favorite. Herbie: Yeah Shamus: What about you, Herb? You got an actress and actor? Herbie: favorite act. It's kind of hard because like at first when I was a kid, I used to love Steve McQueen. Steve McQueen was just like the bomb. Shamus: icon of cool. Jason: Speaking of Steve, Steve Gutenberg is another one I Herbie: Yeah, Steve Gutenberg. It's like, I see a lot of videos of me. just like a really genuine, nice guy. Jason: When they had the fires in L.A., he was like actually ⁓ moving people's cars for them and everything and saved. He saved people because they was like people were blocking streets. Shamus: So. Herbie: Yeah, it's generally a great guy, Yeah. Yeah. Just because I see like a lot of videos and stuff and like he's like, he's just doing like inspirational speeches and stuff. Just like, just him walking through talking to himself about like, you know, just inspirational. Shamus: You like him too? Jason: video. Shamus: I've seen those, Jason: I saw a video of him today is having breakfast with. This is so funny because he's like, I'm going to film you. Yeah. And he's like, no, you're not. You know what? Gee, he's got him. Gee, you like that nickname? Gee. Herbie: Yeah, dice. Yeah. Yeah, Mahoney's great though, Actress? I would probably say Sigourney Weaver because of her range. She's just done so many things and she could do comedy, she could do, you know, like... Yeah, Drew Barrymore is cool. It's just like after a while, like... But like in the 90s, she got a little, little... Come on, Shamus: Do have a favorite actress? Jason: Amen. I like Drew Barrymore a lot, grew up with her a little bit. It got a little weird. Herbie: But Sigourney, we were just like, she's just like a classic, even like Gina Davis. I'm a big fan of too. Cause she's just like, they're classic beauties, you know, they don't really need a lot of makeup and I'm like that. They're just like beautiful statuesque women, but they're just like, like a high caliber type of woman where they have like good acting range and they're just like, very nice. Jason: a big Robin Williams fan but I love the movie Popeye. That's another one of those 1980s movies that was on HBO all the time and everything. That movie had the largest budget for cocaine. was not written out as cocaine but it was a part in the budget Robert Altman did the movie. Really? There was a budget they had a lot of money put away for cocaine because you could see. Is it really? Yeah. Herbie: ⁓ yeah, well yeah, I grew up. ⁓ sure. The set is still there, Because like that set was done. It was like Morocco or something like that. It was just like they had to build. Jason: You know the octopus that they have in that movie at the end? That's the octopus from The Goonies. Herbie: Yeah, the deleted scene. it's the deleted scene. It's great. I mean, was it musical and stuff like that? have see movie theaters and stuff. Shamus: But I haven't seen that movie, Popeye's and... Jason: Soundtrack yeah, the soundtracks great to Harry nelson did the soundtrack Shamus: Everybody hates musicals. Herbie: There's like plenty of for me musicals. There was like, you know, like Yentl. Love that movie Fiddler on the Roof. Grease. Love Grease. ⁓ well, Grease, too. ⁓ you know that. Jason: Life is a- Shamus: ⁓ Rock of Ages was amazing. Tom Cruise and all them. Yeah, that was good. That was good. Was another one. Somebody said the. Jason: It's a little shop of horrors. Herbie: Yeah. Jason: Oliver was good. like that. remember that. Shamus: Joker Ludd do or something with a Joaquin Phoenix was. Jason: didn't see this Joker part two. think I that was a C. I didn't see it. Shamus: It's a musical. Herbie: It's kinda, I didn't watch it. Jason: Park musical is good. Oh man, good time. Shamus: ⁓ yeah, Southport. ⁓ absolutely. Absolutely. I'm going to go with I think my favorite actor of all time has got to be there's so many of them that are just monsters like Leo. You know, Matthew McConaughey is great. ⁓ Big fan of Ryan Gosling lately. guy. Herbie: ⁓ yeah. Jason: He's good too, yeah. I thought he was funny in Barbie. I really enjoyed that movie. ⁓ Shamus: I thought the fall guy because I was going to is slowly making into my top 10 of all time. I watched that movie at least once a month. I love that. Herbie: love that like Jason: cool. I'd have to add Corey Feldman into it and Sean Astin is probably a couple of my favorites too because I love Stand By Me and you know Will Wheaton is great. Herbie: I've always liked it like Pachino and stuff too. You know, but just like, and De Niro is just... Jason: Nero and those guys, especially, mean, know, good fellows and stuff like that. Godfather, you know. Shamus: ⁓ Ray Leota's. Herbie: ⁓ I gotta be honest like is acting wise like Ray Liotta. I like better acting than De Niro and them because like it's almost like they're not really acting but you know like He has a little bit more range but like De Niro and that was like they're not really active But Liotta's got a huge range because he also I remember he did that movie. I Forget it was like Jamie Lee Curtis was in it and matter of fact the guy that played in Amadeus. I love that movie little Nicky or something like or darling Nicky or something like that where he plays like like a special needs guy and Ray leota is the brother going to medical school and you know I forget the actor's name that that played the special needs guy but he was like a garbage it worked on your right with Jason: Leo is a good one because we've seen him grow up too with the Revenant. The Revenant was great too. He was on Growing Pains. Yeah. Shamus: from Gilbert's Grape all the way up. Herbie: That's definitely like for me. Yeah, that's how we started. Shamus: And then like in the, you know, the eighties, nineties, it's the usual, know, Schwarzenegger, Stallone, ⁓ Kurt Russell, don't think is enough. Jason: Russell is awesome. He was a kid actor too. did a lot of Disney stuff when he was really Shamus: Do you guys know he was on an episode of Gilligan's Island, right? He was the jungle boy or whatever it was. Like that was like his first gig. Jason: Yeah, because he was a kid. think it was underwater. was I don't know if it's 20,000 Leeds under the sea or something, but it was a Disney film and he was like a young kid and he was on that. But Kurt Russell is going a long way. And I love Goldie Hawn, too. Oh, Why? Yeah, well, they're not married. think they just been together for so long. They just I guess probably like common law marriage. Yeah. But what about your favorite actress? Oh. Herbie: Yeah. ⁓ Shamus: Bye. ⁓ that's a tough one, ⁓ I don't know, to be honest with you, it's tough. I'm a big fan of what's the chick from my cousin Vinny is. Yeah, Marissa Tomei. Yeah. Herbie: What's the tomato? Jason: She's awesome. Shamus: Is that Emma Watson, the one in Fall Gone? Is that her? She was also in Sicario. Jason: Susan the Harry Potter, right? Emma No, that's Was that Emma Watson? I get him confused. Shamus: Yeah. There's so many other her because she was in Sicario. She's in the fall guy and she just, was another movie. was false. Um, um, I can never pronounce her name. Uh, she was a monster. Um, Charlize Theron. Yeah. She was also in Hitchcock or Hancock, whatever that That was great. Like she's great too. Well, I, just, that was before. Herbie: of lab is out there. Jason: That was really good. They're on. like Will Smith so I don't like that movie. That's one of I would always talk about. There's certain people I don't like in movies and Will Smith is one of them. don't like him. Shamus: Who's your least favorite actor besides Will Smith? What about you? Herbie: God. Shamus: If you had to punch somebody in the face in Hollywood, who would it be? Jason: Will Smith. Herbie: It's like, just, I just don't like him either, man. Freaking like not an actor. wouldn't want to punch, but for some reason, what's your face? the singer that was, ⁓ she's the, the jagged little pill for some reason, dude, I just want to like plant my fist right in her. Jason: ⁓ wow. Shamus: That was for a sec. Herbie: ⁓ Jason: Wait, you can't do that on television? Herbie: That's another thing that's like, cannot find any copies of the. Jason: Yeah, because you bought the rice you can't do that on television. Do you remember that TV show was on Nickelodeon? Yeah. Was on it for maybe a season or two and she didn't like being. Shamus: happened? now. Herbie: She was on our do- Shamus: it like a Teens Incorporated kind of deal or something? ⁓ Herbie: All the kids in corporate. Jason: They did like it's like skits. It was almost like a Saturday Night Live for kids. Herbie: You matter of fact the origin of uh on nick loading when you get in slime that was that's how it started Yeah Jason: that show if they said water that water thrown on them and they said I don't know they got slime. Shamus: Who's embarrassed by that and bought the rights? Jason: He I don't know exactly what she didn't like about it, but she bought the rights and she held on to him. Like you can only really buy bootlegs of that. Yeah. And I don't think I've seen it anywhere. Herbie: See that sounds like release them just release him and I will relinquish my anger Yeah, so she's not doing anything right now man's like come on Jason: she released them, she'd make money. ⁓ Shamus: She's probably, she probably doesn't need the money. I can't believe that was 30 years ago. think they just re-released Jagged Little Pill. Jason: I was early 90s. didn't like ironic. Isn't it ironic? Herbie: tune but like the rest of them I'm just like... I it's, I mean, I mean, like, you know the words because it's just like. Jason: was a commercial on MTV around the time that album came out. And Donald Logue, I don't know if you know that actor, he's Redhead's guy. Roundup for Life was the TV show. Shamus: ⁓ He was in ⁓ he was grounded for life. He was also in the Patriot. Jason: Yep, was in a commercial and he's spoofing the ironic video when she's in the cab and he's saying different things that are ironic and he said the one thing he said was like meeting the girl of your dreams and finding out she's So funny but it's just like yeah, I mean to be able to spoof that I thought that was funny and She could take that but she couldn't take you can't do that on television. I Herbie: What the? I don't get it. And like she does she like when she sings she like sings out the side of her mouth. I'm like, what do you just? It's weird. Just weird, man. Jason: Canadian. Shamus: You watched Curb, right? Because she was on an episode of Curb. Jason: Yeah, because you want to know the ⁓ with the who she went down on in the theater. Herbie: Yeah, it was a bit. don't really like it like there's yeah. Well, yeah, I was like really? Yeah, must have liked Wow Jason: was all about these cool. He messed with that girl. Herbie: You must have tore it up too though, Shamus: Yeah, they were saying tragic kingdom. No doubt like that whole album. Like you've ever watched, ⁓ you know, back when VH1B had behind the music and stuff like that, the whole band's like, Gwen was dating the black dude and she, that whole album was written about their breakup. Yeah. I was like, man, that's pretty crazy. So these, these guys are getting in these heads bro. Herbie: Yeah. Jason: Music then they stayed together the band stayed together too. Yeah, think that they wouldn't like I mean, but so I look at Fleetwood Mac was like that. Yeah Herbie: I say that yeah, then Gwen got big and then she was like, bye everybody Shamus: Well, Darius Rucker did it to Hootie too, so I mean, by now. Herbie: I don't think there's really like any like an actress that like I look at them. Just like I just don't like that person Jason: ⁓ Sandra Bullock. can't stand her. Really? Shamus: I love this. Herbie: She's cool, ⁓ Jason: Like her, not one bit. Shamus: Well actor wise, ⁓ Tracy Morgan, I would love the point. I don't know why anybody think that dude is funny. Like Tracy Morgan to me is just... Jason: Yo, you're gonna have my baby. Herbie: ⁓ You Shamus: When I saw the commercials for that new show he's doing, I like, gotta be kidding. Jason: I was hoping it would have been good because Bobby Moynihan's in it from Saturday Night Live. like him and the kid from ⁓ Harry Potter is in it. Daniel Radcliffe. It shows Tracy Morgan ruins it. It's horrible. Herbie: Good night. Well, he's got to try to, you know, I mean, there's points of him that's funny and stuff like that. Jason: I mean, he was probably good on like when he was on SNL for a little while, but I don't think he can carry a show himself, you know, that's the problem. Shamus: ⁓ you know who else I like female-wise? Amy Adams. She's, whew. Jason: I so like her. Herbie: Yeah, she's all you. Oh, Phoebe, miss her. Come back. Come back. And then then then then then then then then then. Jason: Phoebe Cates. Love her. Shamus: I think everybody our age has a small place in their heart. Jason: The cars can't. Yeah, the cars. Candio, right? Herbie: Yeah, man. Shamus: There's not a day like when I bought this house, I had to pull away after I got renovate and stuff. There's times like if I'm doing something around the pool that instantly comes to me. You're just like, ⁓ my God. Jason: Doesn't anybody knock anymore? Herbie: This is a great movie, man. That's like another thing, too. Like, but that generation, they just can't even like the movies are supposed to be like either low budget or low Brown. that. They were just hilarious movies. Jason: Sean Penn was great in that movie. And he just won the Academy Award for one battle after another. Best supporting actor. He was really great in that. Shamus: I'm sick what happened. Herbie: Actually, you know what? Actress wise, I don't like JLo. I just don't like her. Jason: Okay. Shamus: I can see that. Jason: Yeah, I can't think of anything that I've seen her in that I'd be like, Oh, she's great. Now, maybe Anaconda was her best movie probably. Herbie: Alina but I'm just like a John Voight. Yeah, I'm just like Yeah, that's it. I'm just like no no, I'm Shamus: Yeah, I was gonna say the Selena movie. I had to sit through, ⁓ what's the one with her and the Wilson brother where they get married? Like she's like this big, or something like that. Picked them out of the crowd because like her rock star boyfriend dumped her on stage or something like that. Jason: that made in Manhattan movie too that was hard. Herbie: The only one actually I searched out was like a little more of an obscure movie that she did with Sean Penn and ⁓ Nick Nolte. I think it's like around 60. It's like. Yes, no, not enough word. Jason: It was like one word, wasn't it? enough. Shamus: when her husband was beating the shit out of her. Yeah. So she trained up to whoop the shit out of him. Herbie: This one is just like Sean Penn is like I guess like a gambler or something like that and his car breaks down and Billy Bob Thornton's in the movie too. It's like an all-star cast. Oh Yeah, yeah, I love Billy Bob Thornton man matter of fact if you guys ever watch sling blade make sure if you if you ever want to Shamus: That's another good guy. Jason: you Shamus: If you guys ever review that movie, that is your man ⁓ Herbie: Just bring me on bro Jason: Speaking of that, another guy I like, actor, I like John Ritter. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. A couple of good movies to a problem child was a fun movie. The first one. Yeah. Stay tuned. Yeah. Very good movie. Herbie: of Shamus: ⁓ Jack! Herbie: . Shamus: I just go say stay tuned. Very good. So. Herbie: And he was in sling blade. was great, man. Matter of fact, if you ever watched sling blade, if you got the DVD or anything, watch it in French. Cause it's just like, you know what mean? Cause it's just like, you know, it's just dubbed over with this classy French voice and he's like, it's just great. Jason: That's the 90s. That was definitely in the 90s. So we'll get there eventually. Shamus: never seen the movie all the way through like I'll just catch he'll send me clips and I'll catch it and that's what everybody says great so I'm another underrated good actor that guy in the what was the movie would stave him ⁓ my crank the crank movies where he's a doctor awesome yeah he's absolutely awesome Herbie: He also did like a movie. It was an old horror movie called Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town. Billy Bob Thornton's in it. ⁓ it's great. It is just, I think it's like a trauma movie, I think. Yeah. it's just, it's like another one that's very hard to get on DVD and stuff, but I got it. Jason: Sounds like it When you got to that's when you go to chiller and I'll have the trauma ⁓ booth there so you can get movies and everything. That's where I got taint. Yeah, I think we taint. Herbie: It was like that movie like Billy Bob probably wants to forget because it's movie like two and three I watched all of them and even got like the box set of like the Toxic Avenger and like Citizen Toxie Jason: of Newcomb highs and highs. Yup, think there's four or five of them. I got the first one signed by Lloyd Kaufman. He's great, yeah. Nice. Herbie: It almost seems like you can actually just do like a walk on a child and be in like one of Kaufman's Jason: He definitely does like, he'll put out it like on online. I'll just put like, you know, we're filming this if you get like, we need 50 people to come here this day, come here wearing this and we'll try to get you in the movie. Herbie: I totally do it. My buddy was actually in, um, happy Gilmore too for a little bit. He was just like one the extras in the end. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My buddy was in it. Shamus: They were filming around here. Jason: Yeah. And the main is a nephew. ⁓ really? Was in it. Shamus: That's a weird. Really? Not that we're in the movie, but I was a kid. They were my uncle. He wasn't my uncle. He was just like a dude that grew up in the neighborhood. He was a couple of years older than me. Took me and my brother down to when they were doing Rocky five, the fight scene. Oh, really? Him and Tommy Morrison. Like, really? Yeah. Underneath the. Oh, you went off like that? No, no, no. But we were we were like in the crowd and like watching them film. Like we were so far back. Yeah. It was pretty cool, man, to see like style out there and stuff like that. Like I was. Jason: That's fun, yeah. Shamus: 1990s, I had to be like 11 and I was like, dude, let me get on your shoulders. And I was like, yeah, it was pretty cool. I got we were definitely not in any of the footage or anything. I was just like, it was such a vibe like, dude, it's a Philadelphia street fight, which is I mean, grew up in Philadelphia. This is what it's all about. And you know, we're here to watch it taped and all this. It was pretty cool, man. Like, ⁓ yeah, Balboa is going out. Jason: That would have been awesome. Yeah, that's great. Shamus: Have you ever been to a live movie center or anything like that? Or anybody in the crew, Dana or Andy? Jason: No, not that I could think of. think maybe Andy might have been somewhere where they were filming a movie when he was on vacation. I can't remember what the story is, so I'll have to ask him when he's on. But, not for me. haven't been in any... Herbie: My dad was in a movie. It's like some kind of Russian obscure movie. They came in and filmed and he's, he's like, you know, my dad, when he worked in a park Avenue, New York, he worked in a high rise building and he was actually at the desk. So, um, they came in and did like the filming thing and stuff like that. And he was just basically the guy that let him sign, you know, sign in the book and go to the elevators. And that was it. He was like, I claimed the fame was like five seconds or something, but, uh, the lawyer. in the movie that they went to go visit was another like there was a lawyer firm up there and his buddy the lawyer was in it. Jason: I was at a TV show. just remembered I was in a TV show. Yeah. Me and Andy, we went to ⁓ New York City to meet Ice T and Coco. Ice loves Coco. Yeah. The TV show. Yeah. So we went to Barnes and Noble's. Ice T was doing a book signing. So we sat down because he was going to be reading from his book. He's going to read a little excerpt from the book and answer some questions. So me and Andy were in the second row. They gave us a piece of paper. We had to sign. And we sat right. Coco came in. She sat right in front of us. If you watch the show, they show us for like five seconds. It goes right by us. Oh, it's just like watching. And we got it afterwards. We got ice and tea and cocoa to sign our books. Oh, still. Shamus: Well, we're I was stationed at Fort Benning. I had to do the color guard for it. They did that movie We were soldiers they taped it all at Fort Benning and stuff like that so we had to do the color guard for it and I'm sitting there and you know, and Mel Gibson's another guy who was only like five foot five five foot six him Chris Klein The guy he played Oz in ⁓ American Pie Carrie Russell. Yeah Madeline Stowe ⁓ Jason: I Shamus: What was the guy's name? Greg Kinnear? was as good as it gets. Like they all came walking up because they had this huge ceremony with the people they actually played. Cal Morris was the general. He was there. had to Mel Gibson was like, he did a huge ceremony. And when we got done, like they walked over to everybody and Mel was like, hey, man, how you doing? I was like, hey, what's up, So that was pretty cool. But I never went to do I got to meet Sam Elliott was. Herbie: We will you Jason: I was just like, that's awesome, man. I was was like, I was like, yeah. Shamus: Like you really like that movie and I was like, ⁓ Herbie: Yes. ⁓ I think his first movie was frogs Jason: I saw that. Yeah. Great movie. Yeah. Seventies. Yeah. Shamus: I've never even heard of that. Herbie: Dude, it's a movie about frogs, just like regular dude. It's a, but he's in it. Jason: The with the Shatner, was it Tarantula? ⁓ Herbie: Devil's reign. ⁓ he was also he did tarantula too, but he was also in Devil's reign with Ernest Borgnein Old. Yeah. Those movies are old man. it's like those movies. It's like, HBO had your back with watching movies and then the older movies before that was like on regular TV or like the creature. Shamus: You twins, why you guys talking about these rules? Jason: Put on channel 11, know, catch the old kung fu and after that there'll be a crappy movie on Shamus: After me my brother got done watching Saturday morning cartoons of wrestling my dad be like get out and he would watch creature feature and then you watch kung fu theater that came on like noon to like two or three ⁓ Jason: Those are good things, yeah. Herbie: watch that too but then like after the kung fu movies were done we'd go outside and like try to play kung fu Jason: trying to throw throwing stars. Herbie: But I think like my claim to fame, I was actually at the taping of the Eli Manning show in London and I was like in it for like two seconds. That's what's up. But like, know, I finally go to the games all the time and I finally had to go to frickin London and finally meet Eli Manning and get his autograph. I just had him ⁓ a hat. I had like this big oversized giant hat and I just had like all the other players over there. Jason: school. What's your have them sign? to multiple signatures. ⁓ yeah. Cool. Yeah. Shamus: That is one guy who surprised me because during his playing days, he was always just like, he always had that dumb look on his. When he retired him and his brother, I think paint man is one of the funniest on the planet. Yeah, but like I you like now because being an Eagles fan, I hated them. Yeah, but like now I'm like, that's pretty funny. Pretty cool, dude. Herbie: I was like so annoying too because like I was it like they had to lock the bar where we're at and He was like right there and there was like, you know, like a little barrier It wasn't like a big barrier not like that, but I was like, mr. Manning. Mr. Manning. Mr. Manning Cuz I was like there's no way I'm like maybe like from here to like maybe ten feet away from him, you know Yeah, Jason: You can't that opportunity. Herbie: And I, yeah, and I knew he was getting ready to go on his limo and take off after the show. And I was just like, being such a pain in the ass. But I was just like, I need his autograph. ⁓ I can't be that close. And he was nice enough where he was like, was like ignoring me. But he knew I was there. But so he had his little son run over, grab my grab my hat and he autographed and brought it back to me. was like. Because if I. Jason: That's cool. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you're not close. got to do everything you can. Herbie: I was like, so if I ever meet him again, I'm just gonna apologize, but I like I needed your autograph. Yeah, you know Shamus: Listen, he's a quarterback for the New York Giants, so I'm sure he's dealt with. He probably doesn't even remember you, Jason: Like to this day, he's probably got everybody everywhere he goes. It's just, know, I can't restore by himself, you know. Herbie: I think like my first autograph, actually, yeah. You know what? That's a good idea. What's w who was your first autograph? Yeah. Shamus: Good question. Jason: I don't know if I remember. I Shamus: What was your first one? The guy who played Darth Vader. Herbie: Really? It's gotta be like it was the it probably was him but it was like the the costume and everything it wasn't like a fake costume it was in the Jason: was not a Prowth. Yeah, it was. He's in costume too. Yeah. See, I met him. He wasn't in the costume. I got David Prowse. He signed a picture. It's him. And I got Boba Fett to sign the same picture because it's Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian Empire. The only signature I'm missing is Lando's. ⁓ I got David Prowse and Jeremy Bullock on there. And that's a really cool piece. ⁓ yeah. But he's he's up there in his 80s and he's very expensive. Yeah. Herbie: Matter of fact, right after Star Wars came out, the original like New Hope came out. That was like the first movie I ever saw in the movie theaters, too. Shamus: How to get it done, dude, before you. ⁓ yeah, your mom told me that story. Jason: I saw the original Star Wars in the theater. My sister was getting her ears, something done with her ears. She was born in 77. My dad took me, I was like two and a half years old. My mom said, him somewhere. said, we can go to the movies. So we went to see Star Wars. I was almost three. I got to see that. And then I seen Empire. I saw every Star Wars movie in the theater. Shamus: Was that the first movie you ever seen in this theater? Herbie: And every really has same thing with me. But frickin it was at Alexander's. It was a department store in the Bronx. And Darth Vader was doing the and he didn't of course he didn't talk. It was just like just tons of people. And I remember because I was just like a little kid and I just like I got on my dad's shoulders and I was just like in frickin awe because it was Darth Vader and like the real costume. And I was just like, ⁓ I just lost it. ⁓ Signed it and stuff like that. It was just like it was like it was like almost like eight o'clock at night or something like that and I was like four or five so it was time for me it was like past my bedtime anyway, but that was like the first autograph and I I don't Jason: know I can think of the exact first, but I know I got, had an early Rusty Wallace autograph. So that was cool. From Pocono, the race dress. Herbie: next. Shamus: I was gonna say my first one was Reggie White. Jason: Really? Nice. That's a good one with any sign. Shamus: It was funny you mentioned X, I still have it. We were it was right around Christmas time. We were at there was a clover up on Route 130 in Sinibintan. And next to it was like a like a little mall. wasn't like an outside mall, but it was like an inside mall. And when you walked out of clover, you went into the mall at one point and it was a gold medal sporting goods store. And I'll never forget this. I walked out because my mom was in line and like, just went out there, you know, just get away from my mom or whatever. And like, I looked over and gold medals had a sign in the window saying, buy Reggie White jersey, get his autograph for free. And it was that day. So was like, so my mom came out and I showed her the sign and she was huge Eagles fan. She Philadelphia sports and stuff. And she was just like, so we go in. This was before you had pro shops and all that stuff like that. So we went in and my mom asked the manager, was like, is this real? And he was like, hey, he's gonna be here in like 20 minutes. You know, this is what this line is. And like some people had bought jerseys. No, it was only like, I guess, cause I didn't know about, like it wasn't even advertised or whatever. Jason: Was it a big line? Herbie: a little pop-up type thing. Jason: Man, you would think that would be like really crowded. Shamus: So we went over and grabbed the Jersey and he signed it. I got it in a frame upstairs. That's my bedroom. And it's cool because me and my mom, like it's because my dad never cared about what he was more of a race guy. Yeah. He built high end drag cars and all that stuff in his off time and race at Atco and all that stuff. He never cared about sports. Yeah. When it came to like Eagle Flyers six, but my mom loved and when my mom like me and my mom walked up and was like, Hey buddy, how you doing? he talked. Nice. This guy on the planet. Yeah. Talk to my mom and all that stuff. Jason: That's really cool. That's before phone cameras on the phone. yeah. And I have a picture. Shamus: Yeah, that was, yeah, that was, how. Didn't that have to be like 1988, 89? So that was, that was pretty cool. Herbie: This is like before beepers. Yeah, that is awesome. Jason: That's cool to still have it too. Shamus: Yeah, yeah. I'll never get. I took it to the Phillies sports because they have like PSA. Yeah. Like, well, and I had to authenticate it. And when the guy held it up, like fold it in the bag, some dude was walking by and he was just like, is that yours? And I was like, yeah, he was like, I'll give you thirty five hundred for it right now. I was like, no, you know, that's if I get a mausoleum when I because that's I want to do. That's going in there with me. Herbie: ⁓ yeah. ⁓ Like, sorry. Shamus: But yeah, that's that's a memory because my mom's no longer with us. So that's a memory. I have my mom. Jason: It's cool to know that you could get that much for it at that time. ⁓ yeah. I mean, yeah to say that that's mine, dude You know and to be like, I'm not selling Herbie: Cause like there's a lot of, there's things that. Shamus: Well, I mean, you gotta have a couple other... Jason: Cool things that I could sell but I I have a stand I met Stan Lee. ⁓ I know you bastard and I had him sign a Issue number 59 of the amazing spider-man. It's the first cover with Mary Jane. Yeah, I love marijuana So I had him sign that but he didn't make it out to Jason but I Remember I bought that comic. It was like a $30 comic at the time when I bought it Shamus: Nice. Jason: If you looked it up now, signed, I saw somebody selling for 900. Definitely. So I wouldn't sell it. It's just it's it's an awesome thing to have met him. Yeah, absolutely. I tried to meet him a second time. He canceled, but I already had his autograph, so I wasn't upset. But like when I but have another it's like ⁓ he was Darth. Shamus: No, don't have to. Jason: Darth Lee or whatever it was, Vader or whatever it was. It looks like a Star Wars figure, it's a poster, a picture of Stan Lee in the package, but it's not really a package. that's cool. And he signed that. Herbie: That's cool. Cool. Like when I like there's another like thing I would never get rid of. Of course, if I could if I could find that old Darth Vader autograph, I would love to find that. But, you know, when I got Luke Skywalker's autograph on the VHS, like cop, like a bundle package of all three movies. Jason: That'd be great. You know how hard it is to get Mark Hamill's autograph? Herbie: I looked out too because I got him like at Comic Con like right before he was before they even made the announcement for like Disney to buy Star Wars he was actually there to Talk about Arkham City when he did the voice for ⁓ Batman Arkham City game Jason: That's my sad story. went to Monster Mania. Carrie Fisher was there. George Romero was there. I was in line for George Romero. And I was like, oh, because his line was so long because it was his last East Coast appearance. Yeah. So I was like, I got to get George, you know. And she's upstairs. And I was like, I'll get her. My friend went up there and he got her and I didn't get her. She died. She went to that. I was. Herbie: I think I've like ran into it with like it like maybe two or three times like because I used to go like every year to like go New York and Philly and I got I got Carrie Fisher's and he and he went to go get Romero's I was like, oh man, but then I got him Jason: I signed my Night of the Living Dead poster. That's really cool. Herbie: That's like that's still like one of my favorite zombie movies, man. I have a Living Dead's called What's His Face's remake is good. But the second one, like Day of the Dead, like the original one in the mall. Yeah, don't it? Yeah. Jason: Yeah, great movie. I love that. Dawn of the Dead. Return of the Living Dead is great. I love that movie. Herbie: Like those zombies are great man. I love them Shamus: Yeah, Burt Reynolds was that for me. I was like, I'll get him next time. Because he was my hero. Like that guy to me is like I was talking about great actors. I don't even consider that guy an actor. That guy to me is a mentor. Like, yeah, I love that. He passed away. I cried that day. was. Jason: I had him sign. Herbie: That man said. Jason: Cannibal run poster. I have him signed it. Adrian Barbeau signed it and now I'm to get Jamie Farr. He's to be a chiller. I'm going to get him to sign it. That's dope. Burt Reynolds and Deliverance. love that movie. Yeah. Oh, one of my favorites. Yeah. John Voight. Yeah. Longashard's great. Yeah. Shamus: Not the Sheik. Herbie: I love that. Shamus: just the original Longish Yard. organized Jason: The cannonball runs. I mean, what was he in? Six pack Hooper? Yeah Hooper. Yeah Shamus: ⁓ you're thinking of six pack was Kenny Rogers. You're of stroke race. Jason: I'm sorry. Yeah, they were which is a wean song to stroke races a wean Shamus: They were, they were the first movies, his movies. think stroke race was, and I could be wrong. You're the movie guy. Yeah. ⁓ stroke race was the first one to show bloopers during the credit. Yes. Jason: Remember Gumball Rally? That was another fun one. Herbie: Yeah. Jason: ⁓ Yes. At the end where they're doing those, that's one of the funniest things you can ever watch. It's like three minutes, you lose it. Shamus: Absolutely. Herbie: is where Burt Reynolds met Lonnie Anderson and like that's when everything like you know they got married and stuff. Plus like that whole scene of like her on the bed with I was like Shamus: Yeah, that was a stroke race. Jason: It was Dom DeLuise and Jack Elam was in the ambulance with his eye all over. Herbie: That dude is just he's got like that one really long finger. ⁓ Shamus: when I get pulled over by the New Jersey State Police. he was just like, did you see that guy? was like, my brother-in-law Herbie: This is walking around like that syringe man. He's yeah. Yeah. He's got that really long middle finger, man. It's just like putting it underneath your nose and stuff like what this dude is. Jason: You Shamus: Really. Jason: It's I even like the second cannonball run. I enjoyed that one too. I it's fun, ⁓ Herbie: And always like Shamus: I just love watching the outtakes because you said about Dom Del Luis, those two together were his. He grows his mustache and rips hair. Herbie: He's like slapping the shit out of Tom Tule. Jason: catching like Delewes and Burt Reynolds when they were on Johnny Carson to some of the funniest things. Yeah. And those clips are great. You saw all the love birds and Dom Delewes and Fatso, man. He made me so happy when he said that movie. Yeah. Great. Shamus: Jerry Reed, Jerry Reed was like Jerry Reed. Reynolds was dressed. They were showing the outtake of stroke race when he's dressed like the chicken. And all of a sudden Jerry Reed comes through and he was just like, what the hell? like, he's making fun of him. He's like, we're not even in this movie. Herbie: That was the catchy thing though, because they show the bloopers and stuff, the outtakes, is great. Jason: He's a lot of now, know I Just like Ferris Bueller was one of the first ones to do the after credit scene, you know? Shamus: You're still here? Herbie: Yeah, it's another great movie, too. Here like breaking the fourth wall. Jason: Yeah, we do that. Shamus: six had some bag. Jason: We didn't do it yet, but that's for this year. 86 was good. 85. had a lot of fun with 85. Shamus: was say we were spoiled as kids because the 80s like the movie thing just blew up like it Jason: I mean, every week there's something great. Herbie: Yeah, because it was like a lot of comedies and stuff like that. I mean, don't get me wrong. Like the ones like Newer, like, you know, like Pineapple Express and like a lot of Will Ferrell movies and stuff are hilarious. Like Hot Rod still like one of my, you know, it is it's hilarious, dude. And like Napoleon Dynamite stuff like that is just like. Jason: Hot Rod is so funny. Shamus: off of space, they're not revenge of the nurse. They're not Beverly Hills cop. You know, they're not like. Herbie: Yeah, like act. Well, the Beverly Hills is like, you know, the action comedy and it's just like hilarious. Cause like, you know, Eddie Murphy, man, you know, you watching this, I wish he did stand up again, man. like, they're about it. Shamus: about it. ⁓ Jason: I don't think he will though. He would have did it by now if he was going to. think he can't go work out in clubs because too many people are going to see him and it's going to ruin it for him. But I think he would have been great if he came back. Herbie: Maybe we just do like another HBO special, man. Shamus: Like all them John Hughes movies. Like I remember being eight years old thinking to myself, holy shit, when I get to high school, I'm going to be like you're dealing with like grown ass problems. Like I only got like another three years. I got to my stuff together because. The pressure not to be a virgin going to high school, you're kind of like, ⁓ my God. Jason: Yeah, you think about like Breakfast Club and stuff like that. 16 candles is great. I love that movie. Herbie: Even the pressure of the Van Halen videos back in the day when we were like, sit down, Waldo. ⁓ Jason: That's me, I wear my hair just like that. ⁓ Herbie: You don't want to do it. You don't want to get your ass kicked like none of that stuff. Freshman. Jason: Do you ever see Three O'Clock High? Yes. Love that movie. Yeah. Herbie: I think they tried it. I think they did a remake but like the original that's another one Shamus: Well, I don't think it was a I think it was kind of like the same idea when it was I was at the teachers like you. Yeah. Actually, pretty good. Yeah. Jason: Charlie Day was in Charlie Day. That was in Band. remember that. Herbie: It was just very, very, very similar, Jason: Hi, it's all that's a whole That whole movie is just one day. Yeah. The movie takes place that one day. love that. Richard Tyson was the bully, wasn't it? ⁓ Herbie: He was also in, ⁓ young gun. Yeah. That dude is still, he still looks intimate. I remember he actually, he actually liked that guy. Yeah. The only thing is like, I'm, suck with the names, but if you mentioned the movie and the character, I'm like, I know exactly what you're talking about, but Jason's like, you know, the name whiz. Shamus: Wow. No doubt. I gotta take him to trivia night with us. Herbie: ⁓ Put this guy on Jeopardy, Jason: Trivia, I mean, Brady Bunch trivia, could crush on that. Happy Days trivia, like a lot of that stuff I'm really good at. But like, I don't know why that stuff stays in my head. Because you know what I mean? Herbie: There, yeah. up on it. So it's like it was repeat, you know? Like you watched it all. Jason: movie once and I'm quoting it you know it's weird it's but it's so Herbie: Because if it's a movie, it's like you're just laughing while you're your quote while you're watching. Jason: It's stuff though, Shamus: You know what else? Hollywood's kind of lost a little bit and you being you guys being movie guys is like back in the day, like props were reused like they that back lot, like the lethal weapon house was used for so many like Christmas vacation house was right next door to that. A of people don't. But like your boy Henley Wrinkler was on the other day and they were asking it was on the I love the Rich Eisen podcast and he was doing like and they do that. You know, truth or false? or false? Jason: I it. Shamus: thing at the end and they had Henry on. I don't know how long ago it was, but he was on. And they said, you know, that the motorcycle he used in, ⁓ he didn't know how to ride a motor. Jason: They didn't know how to ride. Shamus: And he was just like, yeah, I didn't know how to ride. They had to teach me. He was like, one thing about that motorcycle, nobody knows is that was the same motorcycle McQueen Road and the great escape. And I was like, man, with all this digital crap now, green screen like you lose that. Like that to me, kind of like that's it's heartbreaking because like, oh, my God, the Fonz Road, the same bike that Steve McQueen Road and the great Jason: And it's like about all those sets, movie sets and TV sets that are just like they ruined them. got they like broke them down and got rid of them. mean. Shamus: Yeah, like that whole back lot, like the old lethal weapon house and then right across the street was, ⁓ my, like all these movies were made in that same. And then when you go back and look at the movies, like, ⁓ my God. Herbie: Great. Jason: With some of these 80s movies like you see where it all down where like the movie ET takes place the like the the neighborhood is so cool It's that California neighborhood. Yeah, just wanted to ride your bike through it. Herbie: I a lot of cul-de-sacs and all that stuff, but I actually remember like in, in a friends TV show that fountain scene, like in the very beginning, we were all hanging out. That was actually in the Omega man with Charles Heston. Really? was like, remember where he actually got killed and like his B's bleeding all in the fountain. That's the same fountain. I mean, I found that out too long ago. Shamus: we smoke. Nowadays, they can more. Jason: Yeah. Or when Kramer gets the Merv Griffin set on Seinfeld? Yeah. He gets it out of the chair. Shamus: It is absolute awesome episode. I got to go back and watch. hear you guys talking about it now. I'm watching curb and I was like, man, I go back and yeah, curb is good. That guy's a meathead. Jason: I love Larry David. Marty Funkhouser is great on there too. Bye bye. Shamus: There he is. Herbie: I remember I used to love the Weird Al Yankovic movie that he was in, ⁓ UHF. Jason: love UHF. is a great. Shamus: You get to drink from the fire hose! Herbie: You Jason: I saw Weird Al in concert a few times. Great show. Herbie: What was his character's name in that movie? Jason: I don't know what the top of my head. Herbie: Stanley Spodowski. That was great, man. I love that. That was another movie like watching on VHS, man. Yeah. Jason: That's a good. I watched that one recently maybe like five or six years ago maybe during COVID with my nephew. I got him to watch it and I was like you're gonna like this. Herbie: Yeah, it's great. It's like it's like it's like an airplane parody type thing, man. Because like even if like the original airplane, there's so much parody stuff in there from that era that it's just like many Easter eggs. It's like ridiculous, Jason: Yeah. Shamus: Not only that but it's like I said even movie sets now. Yeah, like everything like you could shoot in New York City in Arizona Have you put up enough green? I digitally put skyscrapers and shit Jason: Yeah, you put on a movie and it's 1970s New York. That background is so awesome. I love it. So seedy and dirty. Shamus: or like, you know, the something like the Batman TV series, like they had to build the Batcave and all that stuff in the pole. Like now it's just like, yeah, just green screen it or digitally generate it. Jason: Adam West Batman is so fun watching those. Herbie: ⁓ absolutely. Of course, you know, my girl Wonder Woman. ⁓ Jason: Wonder Woman. I remember Land of the Lost. Yeah, Sid and Marty. Herbie: Chuck, I find Sleaze Shamus: great that the Lego Lego, the Batman Lego movie where they spoofed it. He was like, ⁓ there's shark spray. And he was like, I'm not using that. He was like, well, here's a suit you wore during that crazy dance phase. they show out of. Herbie: ⁓ I had a toy like back in the day like this old diecast metal Batman car. I wish I still had man TV show? Yeah from the TV show Shamus: Yeah, from the Jason: Yeah. Right now there's a Lego. I want to get a Batmobile Lego from 66 Batman. Herbie: It's like every time you go to the cons and stuff too, the Batmobile Jason: All them are at the time there. think the back to the future cars. General wagon station wagon from National Amphitheater. Shamus: Another thing about some of these things. The family truckster. Jason: 18 vans Herbie: I really didn't get to like a lot of times I go there. It's like, you know, like they'll see like the Jurassic Park Jeep. I'm like. Jason: seen that one too. That's okay. It's not as fun. Yeah. Shamus: I got to see the McQueen car from a bull. Now it was lost for years and they originally they just found it a couple of years ago. It was in a fucking junkyard in Mexico or something. Somebody had it in their backyard in Mexico and they bought it back and it was at the Shelby Museum when I was at in Vegas and I had no idea they do tours there. I'm a huge Mustang guy, love Ford Mustangs all night. And so was like, Hey, all my buddies had left because I, was a military union and I'm always the guy who takes everybody to airport, closes out the rental for the house and all that stuff. And then I fly usually the day after. So was like, let me go check this out, man. So we go in there and like the first original Shelby. like GT350, like the 60 car's worth like 3.5 million. It's right in the lobby. So then they walk you around and they show you like all these cars that they have and stuff. And it just happened to be in the back like they got it. And like I was looking and I didn't even ask the guy was just like, in case anybody's wondering, that is the car. Like we're making sure of verifying it, make sure you see if they I think they said they can't restore it because something's wrong with the frame, but they're going to try to preserve it as much as they can. But they were saying at the time they were checking Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: and going through everything and I was like, dude, that is the card, it's the queen. Jason: That's awesome. Yeah. Herbie: That was like, remember the other movie did like the bounty hunter movie. I love that. It was like the one scene where he's got like the Camaro and stuff like that. And he's like running through the cornfield. like those two brothers, he's like trying to track down as a bounty. They have it. They're trying to, they're trying to get him with a combine. Jason: I remember that movie, what's that called? Shamus: Thank you. Herbie: It was just, it used to be on HBO and stuff all the time. Of like Papillon and stuff like that. like, ⁓ yeah. Can't miss that. mean, it's a great movie. Shamus: and cool hand Luke. Two of my favorite icon. Herbie: Yeah, Paul Newman, man. Jason: Yeah, can't go wrong him, Redford. Herbie: Yeah. they just recently passed. Rest in peace, both of them, Shamus: So what do you guys got coming up on the new exciting podcast? You got any movies lined up? ⁓ Jason: Yeah, we're for our four or for our 200th movie because we did our 400th episode, but our 200th movie will be aliens. So we got my cousin Zach's coming on for that one. So we'll be doing aliens from 1986. But ⁓ we still have three amigos from 86 to do. We got Ferris Bueller to do from 86 ⁓ from horror. got Jason Friday the 13th, part six ⁓ Nightmare on Elm Street three, I believe. Herbie: Night. Shamus: That's probably my favorite one dream warriors. Yeah, that's probably my the first one scared the shit out of yeah And it's still to this day one of the scariest movies I think before they had him running around a pool in part five. Yeah, but like the first one but three Herbie: Yeah. Jason: We to that one this year. Critters is 86. Troll is 86. Herbie: Harry Potter Noah Hathaway, I you Jason: Yeah, Trey, we met him many times. Shamus: years back. Herbie: Yeah, that's what I was. Yeah. When I was on their podcast, we were talking, we mentioned him and I was like, Oh my God. Like we're friends. Jason: You know, halfway is really cool because my cousin Christina, she was ⁓ she went with us to meet him and she was really nervous because it was her first time meeting anybody. And we walked by him a couple of times and she didn't say anything. So we finally walked by me and saw her like, hey, he came out, gave her a big hug. That's a sign for free for and everything. Yeah, he's really nice guy. Just right next to him was DMC. met DMC that day. I my picture taken with a really narrow. Herbie: There's a lot of them out there. Shamus: It's McDonald's. Herbie: Yeah. Jason: He was cool. He did this. He did that. ⁓ yeah, that's cool. It's been a lot of fun, man. Yeah, you guys are good. Shamus: ⁓ he did the pose? Well, that's good, Yeah. Herbie: You're awesome.
