- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's get back to the Mark Simone Show on w
- 0:03Speaker 1: o R. Well, Michael Goodwin the best columnist in America.
- 0:09Speaker 1: You can read them every Sunday and every Wednesday in
- 0:13Speaker 1: the New York Post and all of his columns are
- 0:15Speaker 1: up on the New York Post website. You can read
- 0:16Speaker 1: them anytime. Michael Goodwin, how you doing.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark? Thank you? Hey.
- 0:23Speaker 1: The mayor are crazy? Mayor saying he's going to arrest
- 0:25Speaker 1: Benjamin Nett and Yaho. What does that tell us that
- 0:28Speaker 1: he's delusional, that he's just a child? What do you
- 0:31Speaker 1: make of that?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's all of the about but it's
- 0:37Speaker 3: also a political play. This is red meat for his
- 0:42Speaker 3: core supporters. Of course, much of his appeal to them
- 0:48Speaker 3: is based on hating Israel, and so what I think
- 0:53Speaker 3: nothing Yahoo? Of course has they come to face for
- 0:57Speaker 3: the haters.
- 0:58Speaker 2: And if he could do anything to bring.
- 1:02Speaker 3: The Yahoo down, to embarrass him, to see him in
- 1:06Speaker 3: a purk walk, he would love that.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Uh. Fortunately it's not going to happen.
- 1:13Speaker 3: In the international Criminal court that indicted him is not
- 1:20Speaker 3: relevant in the United States. We do not subscribe to
- 1:24Speaker 3: its authority, we are not members of it, so that's
- 1:28Speaker 3: not going to happen. But Mam Donny, that's why I
- 1:32Speaker 3: think he's just throwing out red meat.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Ye hey, he wrote guess it's come of the jd
- 1:39Speaker 1: Vance interview, which shocked a lot of people with the
- 1:43Speaker 1: Rogan it's kind of going off the reservation from the
- 1:47Speaker 1: Trump administration especially, is what seemed like anti Israel stuff.
- 1:51Speaker 1: What do you think is that's all about?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Well, that's a good question, Mark, I'm not sure. I
- 1:58Speaker 3: don't think it was in any away a message from
- 2:02Speaker 3: the administration. I think it was a much more personal
- 2:07Speaker 3: revelation about what's on jd Vance's mind. It wasn't very impressive.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I thought he was smarter than that, and I was
- 2:17Speaker 3: very disappointed to see his contempt for Israel and his
- 2:22Speaker 3: lack of understanding, frankly, of what's going.
- 2:26Speaker 2: On in Lebanon.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Now, I gave it that he is now conducting the
- 2:31Speaker 3: negotiations with Iron, but to basically say Israel and Hezebela
- 2:39Speaker 3: is a chicken and egg thing is it's It's childish,
- 2:45Speaker 3: of course, but it's stupid.
- 2:47Speaker 2: It's uninformed.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Hezbelah was created by Ron and placed in Lebanon to
- 2:56Speaker 3: help eliminate Israel, and so when you're telling Israel can
- 3:02Speaker 3: attack the ten attack Hesbillah during the ceasefire between America
- 3:08Speaker 3: and Iran. You're basically doing Ron's pity for it. And
- 3:13Speaker 3: I think that's what Israel was not happy with that agreement,
- 3:18Speaker 3: in the sense that it effectively gave his bullet time
- 3:23Speaker 3: to regroup and recover and even carry out at Jackson
- 3:28Speaker 3: tied Israel's hands, and I think that was one big
- 3:32Speaker 3: issue Mark, as was his comments on Jeffrey Epstein, again
- 3:38Speaker 3: accusing suggesting that Epstein was a Musad agent, that he
- 3:45Speaker 3: had higher up relations in American intelligence, none of which
- 3:50Speaker 3: has ever been proved. So I'm not sure we're just
- 3:53Speaker 3: getting his ideas. I'll make you stand up too late
- 3:56Speaker 3: in the dark Weapon.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Well, Epstein's lawyer at the time was Alan Dershwitz, and
- 4:02Speaker 1: he said there was absolutely no connection with the MESADO
- 4:04Speaker 1: or the CIA. If there had been one, they would
- 4:07Speaker 1: have used it to negotiate a better deal for him.
- 4:10Speaker 2: That's right. He wouldn't have died in prison.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So what do you think that is doing. People thought
- 4:15Speaker 1: of him as the front runner for twenty twenty eight
- 4:17Speaker 1: and now he sounds like a little Tucker Carlson ish
- 4:20Speaker 1: do you think he's thinking that's the path for twenty
- 4:23Speaker 1: twenty eight to break away and do that kind of nonsense.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Well, he could be, Mike. I mean, you are right.
- 4:30Speaker 2: He is here so far leading.
- 4:33Speaker 3: In the polls, narrowly over Marco Rubio to win the
- 4:37Speaker 3: twenty twenty eight Republican nomination. I think that this kind
- 4:43Speaker 3: of interview will drive a wedge between him and much
- 4:48Speaker 3: of the Trump days. And you mentioned Tacocarlson, who has
- 4:54Speaker 3: broken with Trump, and of course I think Tucker is not.
- 5:00Speaker 3: He's come out of the closet as an engine semi.
- 5:04Speaker 3: And I think that Vance is very close to Tucker.
- 5:08Speaker 3: His Tucker's son worked for Dvance until just recently in
- 5:14Speaker 3: the VP of US. So it is, as I say
- 5:18Speaker 3: in my column, a friend of mine who was a
- 5:22Speaker 3: friend of Vance's and helped him in all his campaigns,
- 5:27Speaker 3: he's appalled by what's been happening for him. It started
- 5:33Speaker 3: several months ago, and he's actually alerted me to that,
- 5:37Speaker 3: and I said, I didn't see anything like that, but
- 5:41Speaker 3: I certainly stand corrected now.
- 5:45Speaker 1: He think this is the beginning of the end of
- 5:47Speaker 1: the nuttiness of the Democrats. I know you got the
- 5:49Speaker 1: Fetterman finally speaking out. Even Bill Maher in an NPR
- 5:53Speaker 1: interview said, if they keep this up, I'm going to
- 5:56Speaker 1: vote for a Republican in twenty twenty eight. So you
- 5:59Speaker 1: think maybe it might wake up the leadership to clean
- 6:02Speaker 1: up their mess there.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Well, then the problem Mark ultimately is that the leadership
- 6:08Speaker 3: has no power or has their limited power anymore. I
- 6:13Speaker 3: mean Juctionremer and King Jeffries are scoffed at by the
- 6:19Speaker 3: socialist Democrats. I mean here you have a Democratic mayor
- 6:24Speaker 3: of New York, a socialist, and you have the leader
- 6:28Speaker 3: of the Democrats in the House and the Senate, both
- 6:32Speaker 3: in Brooklyn.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I don't think Mondani.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Has a relationship with either one of them, and neither
- 6:39Speaker 3: have they supported him nor denounced him. So they don't
- 6:45Speaker 3: really have any power over this new breed of socialist
- 6:50Speaker 3: Democrat Mondani.
- 6:52Speaker 2: That's really Mondanni wing.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Of the party, and it's growing fast than the rest
- 6:57Speaker 3: of the party.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Well, it's gott to end at some point. This has
- 7:02Speaker 1: happened before in democratic world, where they go too far
- 7:04Speaker 1: left and then Bill Clinton emerges that type and leads
- 7:08Speaker 1: them back to the center.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Is there time for That's a very that's a very
- 7:12Speaker 3: good point, mark about what Bill Clinton did to the
- 7:16Speaker 3: Democrats in ninety two. You're right, and I think a
- 7:22Speaker 3: lot of people have been looking for the next Bill
- 7:25Speaker 3: Clinton for a while. Instead, we're getting quite we're getting
- 7:29Speaker 3: moving further left rather than toward the center with the
- 7:33Speaker 3: core energy of the party.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Well, if you're looking for another Bill Clinton, how about Fetterman.
- 7:40Speaker 1: If he would go out and buy a suit maybe, yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 3: You know, I think the amazing thing would be marked
- 7:47Speaker 3: if Fetterman would actually lead the party and join the
- 7:50Speaker 3: GOP and the Senate.
- 7:52Speaker 2: That would that I think would be a real warning.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And don't forget too like some of the Senate. You know,
- 8:01Speaker 3: we're not even Democrats. The independents and things. I got
- 8:05Speaker 3: Bernie Sanders mansion was it independent Christian cinema badly So
- 8:13Speaker 3: there were a lot of August King in Maine.
- 8:15Speaker 2: It's not a Democrat.
- 8:17Speaker 3: So the party is actually quite small, but it counts
- 8:20Speaker 3: on those non Democrats the caucus with them to give
- 8:24Speaker 3: them all their roads. So if Tenderman would break the ice,
- 8:28Speaker 3: that would be something.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be interesting. Well, Michael Goodwin, great column. You
- 8:32Speaker 1: can read Michael Goodwin's column every Sunday and every Wednesday.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And if you missed a name, they're up on the
- 8:37Speaker 1: New York Post website. You can go there and read them.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Michael Goodwin, thanks for being.
- 8:41Speaker 3: With us, my pleasure, Mark, thank you.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Take care. Hey.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Coming up at noon, Buck Sexton and Klay Travis. They
- 8:48Speaker 1: do a real good show every day from noon to three.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Then at three o'clock, you got the most listened to
- 8:54Speaker 1: radio show in America, Sean Hannity. You got Jesse Kelly
- 8:59Speaker 1: every night at six and Jimmy Taylor. What a funny show, interesting,
- 9:03Speaker 1: hysterical sometimes Jimmy Faylor every night nine to midnight. Right
- 9:07Speaker 1: here on seven ten wof
