- 0:23Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:28Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Alley along with
- 0:31Speaker 1: Trey Trindholm today Monday, March twenty fourth, two thousand and
- 0:38Speaker 1: twenty five. Tray, I want to start today by asking
- 0:44Speaker 1: you a very personal question. Okay, you don't have to
- 0:49Speaker 1: tell me how much, because I'm it's that part. I
- 0:52Speaker 1: don't need to know. I just want to know. Do
- 0:56Speaker 1: you currently have debt?
- 1:02Speaker 2: Not really right?
- 1:04Speaker 1: First of all, congratulations, it's very difficult in the twenty
- 1:09Speaker 1: first century to walk around debt free.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Be a drunk for twenty five years, lose everything and
- 1:17Speaker 3: then slowly rebuild.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You learn some things right. Money management was unexpected in sobriety,
- 1:24Speaker 1: but here you are. I have some credit card debt
- 1:29Speaker 1: outside of that, but it's nothing that is alarming. I have,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you know, a house payment, but that's normal debt. That
- 1:41Speaker 1: being said, there are multitude of ways to ruin your
- 1:45Speaker 1: credit in the twenty first century, and now we've got
- 1:48Speaker 1: a new one. By now hey later isn't just for
- 1:54Speaker 1: furniture stores anymore, because door dash is partnering with Klarnet
- 1:59Speaker 1: so users can finance their next food delivery.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Okay, hate to be the old man. What is Clarna?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Klarna is a financial company that extends credit to people,
- 2:14Speaker 1: especially in small increments, because, according to this new partnership announcement,
- 2:20Speaker 1: when the option launches soon, door Dash users can use
- 2:24Speaker 1: Klarna to pay in four interest free payments or defer
- 2:31Speaker 1: payments and let people pick a date that aligns with
- 2:34Speaker 1: their paycheck schedules. There are all sorts of financial institutions
- 2:39Speaker 1: out there these days that allow you to finance things,
- 2:46Speaker 1: even at the tiniest levels. And this is another great
- 2:50Speaker 1: example of that. Have you ever been shopping on Amazon
- 2:52Speaker 1: and noticed the there's sometimes a tab you can select
- 2:55Speaker 1: to pay in four easy payments of whatever. Yeah, you're
- 3:00Speaker 1: now going to have that option on door Dash, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: it's going to be offered through the financial institution Klarna.
- 3:06Speaker 3: So interest free payments meaning they charge a hefty fee
- 3:09Speaker 3: up front to finance said, so you're already you know,
- 3:16Speaker 3: Taco Bell is the one that comes to mind that
- 3:19Speaker 3: I just I can't fathom having Taco Bell uber, door Dashed, whatever,
- 3:28Speaker 3: because you are now taking you know, a two dollars
- 3:32Speaker 3: taco and making it a four dollars taco.
- 3:36Speaker 2: You're paying four ducks for a Taco Bell taco, which
- 3:38Speaker 2: I love.
- 3:40Speaker 3: One of my favorite things is just a plain, old
- 3:43Speaker 3: crunchy Taco Bell taco.
- 3:44Speaker 2: But at four dollars, I'm not.
- 3:46Speaker 4: No.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, if you went to Taco Bell and they said
- 3:49Speaker 1: four bucks, you would say no. But if you're at
- 3:52Speaker 1: home and in your jammy's maybe a binge watching something
- 3:57Speaker 1: on Netflix, you might think, who, I could go for
- 4:00Speaker 1: a four dollar taco, And that's exactly what's going to happen.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I mean, that's one of the reasons why I have started.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I started cooking and really developing a love for cooking
- 4:13Speaker 3: at the ripe old age of fifty is because of.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Where I work.
- 4:19Speaker 3: There's not a lot of restaurants around, and so I
- 4:23Speaker 3: was spending an absurd amount of money on getting food delivered.
- 4:27Speaker 3: And I'm like, I can make better quality food for
- 4:31Speaker 3: a quarter of the price at home.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You need to stop making so much sense because that's
- 4:36Speaker 1: not how a lot of people operate these days.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And the fast food thing.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Just I told my bartenders this is they're obviously younger,
- 4:44Speaker 3: and I'm like, y'all need to look at that stuff
- 4:48Speaker 3: like it's a luxury, and luxuries if you you need
- 4:54Speaker 3: to be able to afford a luxury, and you need
- 4:58Speaker 3: to be making six figures b a healthy six figures
- 5:02Speaker 3: to have a luxury like that, because.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It is pissing away money in the highest order.
- 5:10Speaker 1: So when the option launches soon again, DoorDash users can
- 5:15Speaker 1: use Klarna to pay in four interest free payments or
- 5:18Speaker 1: defer payments and let people pick a date that aligns
- 5:21Speaker 1: with their paycheck schedules. So it's kind of like payday
- 5:26Speaker 1: loan and a layaway have have had a really ugly
- 5:34Speaker 1: baby and are and are now taking over your door
- 5:38Speaker 1: dash payments. Now, keeping in mind, this is all completely
- 5:41Speaker 1: by choice. You don't have to do it, so this
- 5:44Speaker 1: is ultimately your responsibility. However, I'm an adult and I
- 5:50Speaker 1: know how people are. This is gonna get ugly, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: it's gonna get ugly fast, because when it really comes
- 5:57Speaker 1: down to it, you need to ask yourself to difficult
- 6:00Speaker 1: question like trade just did do you want to pay
- 6:03Speaker 1: four dollars for a two dollars taco bell taco? Do
- 6:06Speaker 1: you really want to take out a loan on a
- 6:08Speaker 1: big mac? Do you need to finance a party taco
- 6:11Speaker 1: from Taco Bueno, which is one of my faves. There
- 6:16Speaker 1: have been times in my life where I've been drunk
- 6:18Speaker 1: enough to.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Say yes, I cannot wait.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Cannot wait for the congressional hearings we will have in
- 6:29Speaker 3: three to four years about the predatory lending, of this
- 6:33Speaker 3: practice of predatory lending and how it took advantage of
- 6:36Speaker 3: drunken stone people and their lives are ruined.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Now. They just had to have that whopper.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It will, it will happen, It will. There'll be a
- 6:47Speaker 1: finger wagging moment from someone testifying saying, no, I didn't,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but yeah, that's going to be the reality for some
- 6:57Speaker 1: people when it comes to financing their next food delivery
- 7:00Speaker 1: thanks to door dash and Klarna.
- 7:03Speaker 5: And it also reminded me of this trey.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Do you remember Wimpy from Popeye who would say I'll
- 7:09Speaker 1: gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Turns out
- 7:12Speaker 1: he was ahead of his time. But here's something else
- 7:17Speaker 1: to consider. You open up door dash because you're hungry
- 7:21Speaker 1: and you don't want to go anywhere. You want the
- 7:23Speaker 1: food to be delivered to you. And then there's Clara
- 7:26Speaker 1: popping up saying would you like to finance this for
- 7:28Speaker 1: for easy payments? Now, imagine you get declined for a
- 7:33Speaker 1: happy meal. Yeah, that's kinda sting. It's kinda sting hard.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And it's also asked none about this is and this
- 7:46Speaker 1: is something that has really really gotten me to my
- 7:49Speaker 1: core about this story. They're gonna let us finance some
- 7:53Speaker 1: spicy nugs, but the state of Texas doesn't trust us
- 7:57Speaker 1: enough with casinos or weed, and we can't even buy
- 8:00Speaker 1: booze before noon on Sunday. But finance fast food again,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and this won't stop.
- 8:16Speaker 3: This is just the beginning that it's going to finance
- 8:19Speaker 3: your fast food. This is going to be a way
- 8:21Speaker 3: for them to finance your grocery shopping.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Like it is again. There will be predators.
- 8:26Speaker 3: There will be congressional hearings about this at some point
- 8:29Speaker 3: in the next four years.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And the irony is going to be is most of
- 8:34Speaker 1: the people with Congress asking the questions and doing the
- 8:38Speaker 1: investigating are also going to be the same ones who
- 8:41Speaker 1: have financially benefited from the lobbying of predatory practices on
- 8:45Speaker 1: behalf of the financial institutions. The world goes round and
- 8:49Speaker 1: round and round again, the tail the dog chasing its
- 8:52Speaker 1: own tail, wagging the dog, whatever metaphor you want to finance.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Oh, that'll be fun, though, to see the list of
- 9:02Speaker 3: stupid stuff people financed.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I know it is. It is going to give me
- 9:07Speaker 1: some ideas on what to order next. That sounds good.

- 10:53Speaker 1: happen back inside the Treehouse Now. I'm Daniel Malley along
- 10:56Speaker 1: with Trey Trenholm. On Monday, March twenty fourth, twenty we
- 11:00Speaker 1: were just talking about how door dash is partnering with
- 11:03Speaker 1: Klarna so you can finance your next fast food delivery.
- 11:07Speaker 1: And Trey, you said, it's already extending into other areas
- 11:10Speaker 1: of life that we have not expected.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 3: So when I signed up and to move into this
- 11:15Speaker 3: new place, they handed me this prochure on the service
- 11:18Speaker 3: that you can Now They're like, well, if you don't
- 11:22Speaker 3: want to pay your rent all at once, you can
- 11:23Speaker 3: use these people and.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Pay it off like every week or every two weeks whatever.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I'm like, so you're you're putting people in places and
- 11:34Speaker 3: letting them finance their rent, Like, what could go wrong?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Oh, Jesus, this is another great, ugly cycle of financial
- 11:46Speaker 1: ruin that his is happening. You've got people that can't
- 11:52Speaker 1: afford to buy a home because they can't save enough
- 11:56Speaker 1: money for a down payment because their rent is so expensive,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and the rent is so expensive that now you've got
- 12:04Speaker 1: financial institutions offering to finance your rent, but you can't
- 12:08Speaker 1: qualify to buy a house. See the problem in all that?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Oh? Absolutely?
- 12:15Speaker 3: And and it's something, There is something with it. And
- 12:22Speaker 3: I'm hate being the old man and picking on younger generations.
- 12:25Speaker 8: But.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Because I say this, we would have been just as
- 12:30Speaker 3: bad had it been available when we were in our twenties.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But they do not think twice the cost of getting
- 12:39Speaker 3: stuff delivered is built in.
- 12:41Speaker 2: They don't. They don't see it as really look at it.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Oh, you're paying an extra twenty to thirty percent on
- 12:48Speaker 3: that order for delivery, right.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It's just built in.
- 12:52Speaker 3: And I'm like, you need to you'll need to sit
- 12:54Speaker 3: down and look at your receipts and look at how
- 12:56Speaker 3: much money you're pissing away. Yeah, but then again, they're
- 13:03Speaker 3: also it's just they're lazy, most of them.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Sorry, gen Z.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Just now. The thing is to keep in mind is
- 13:13Speaker 1: that Trey, you're not just saying they're lazy because of
- 13:15Speaker 1: things you've seen in the news or on TV or whatever.
- 13:18Speaker 1: You're saying that because as a bar manager, you work
- 13:20Speaker 1: with gen Z every single.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Day, every day, so you've seen it. Yeah. I mean
- 13:26Speaker 2: I if you.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I look at what they have the potential to make
- 13:34Speaker 3: every day, and if I were in my twenties, if
- 13:37Speaker 3: I could go back in time and restructure and do
- 13:40Speaker 3: things and I had the ability to make five six
- 13:42Speaker 3: hundred dollars a night, I'd be working five six days
- 13:44Speaker 3: a week or like just and it is a fascinating
- 13:50Speaker 3: thing we've done. We've talked stories about it about you know,
- 13:56Speaker 3: where we were a generation of live to work.
- 13:58Speaker 2: They are a generation of work to.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Live, and they're they're they're somewhat short sighted as far
- 14:07Speaker 3: as you know, what's needed twenty years from now. So
- 14:12Speaker 3: it's just it's a totally different mentality.
- 14:15Speaker 1: The good news is not everything has to be financed.
- 14:18Speaker 1: There are some very great things that you can still
- 14:22Speaker 1: get for free. One of those things is this show
- 14:26Speaker 1: and inside this show that is free. There's entertainment there
- 14:32Speaker 1: that is also free that we share with you, and
- 14:34Speaker 1: I'm going to do that with you now. So if
- 14:36Speaker 1: you're financing your next burrito, I'm at least going to
- 14:40Speaker 1: give you a free bee here, okay, because we all
- 14:43Speaker 1: need to smile and happiness should remain to be free.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I don't care if people are saying, oh, that makes
- 14:51Speaker 1: you a socialist or a communist, Well, you know what, fine,
- 14:53Speaker 1: Some things need to be free, like this that we
- 14:57Speaker 1: posted on our Instagram just the other day.
- 15:00Speaker 9: Banana chicken, banana chicken, bana bana banana.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Chicken, chick.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Chicken chicken.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but seeing that chicken
- 15:18Speaker 1: do the little head bob when it's uh at the
- 15:21Speaker 1: DJ mixing table just makes me smile.
- 15:23Speaker 5: It makes me smile. It also makes me want some
- 15:25Speaker 5: spicy nugs.
- 15:29Speaker 2: And it's not as good as DJ Cat, but it's
- 15:32Speaker 2: it's entertaining.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Very few things are as good as DJ Cat there is,
- 15:35Speaker 1: there is no doubt about that.
- 15:37Speaker 5: But chicken banana.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Chicken chicken, that is frighteningly catchy.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Why you gotta do that to everyone?
- 15:58Speaker 1: Turns out I'm a giant a hole and it's free.

- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm Daniel Malley along with Trade trend Home. Monday March
- 16:52Speaker 1: twenty fourth, twenty twenty five. Now that we've set gen
- 16:56Speaker 1: Z straight and the financial institutions and our banking and
- 17:00Speaker 1: street semi straight, let's jump into some serious stuff, shall we.
- 17:06Speaker 1: A disturbed Florida man has been arrested for making threats
- 17:09Speaker 1: against President Trump.
- 17:12Speaker 5: There's a reason I'm bringing this up today when Raj
- 17:14Speaker 5: isn't here.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It wasn't Raj. I'm not saying it was Raj. Raj
- 17:18Speaker 1: didn't do this, but this is a very, very troubling story.
- 17:23Speaker 1: A disturbed Florida man has been arrested for making threats
- 17:26Speaker 1: against President Trump. And these aren't just run of the
- 17:28Speaker 1: mill normal threats. No one, if I'm sharing them with you,
- 17:33Speaker 1: trade you know they got to be special, and not
- 17:35Speaker 1: just because they originated from a Florida man, although that
- 17:39Speaker 1: does help. In a rambling now deleted, eighty second social
- 17:43Speaker 1: media clip, Kendall Aaron Todd railed against President Trump and
- 17:48Speaker 1: declared himself the US President. Eh didn see that coming,
- 17:55Speaker 1: did you? Well?
- 17:56Speaker 5: It gets worse.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He also said, because of Donald Trump, every single person
- 17:59Speaker 1: in the world is cursed and that Donald Trump is
- 18:02Speaker 1: the anti Christ. That's a pretty inflammatory language. It's still
- 18:08Speaker 1: not the best part, not even the most shocking, because
- 18:12Speaker 1: Todd also added Donald Trump has personally made business decisions
- 18:16Speaker 1: which have hurt so many different reincarnated Jesus. Now, since
- 18:24Speaker 1: I have not heard the clip, I think he means
- 18:26Speaker 1: Jesus' and not hees usays. I don't know for sure,
- 18:30Speaker 1: but I think he means Jesus.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I mean, if he's reincarnated Jesus, that in and of
- 18:37Speaker 3: itself has so many theological problems.
- 18:40Speaker 1: It really does. And I think that's probably what God
- 18:45Speaker 1: inbusted because up to a certain point, someone's like, oh, okay,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I can go with you. Which are the first few things,
- 18:49Speaker 1: but not that. No, sorry, that's where I draw the line.
- 18:52Speaker 1: That's where I've got to call this swat team. So yeah,
- 18:54Speaker 1: this crazy man said Donald Trump has personally made business
- 18:57Speaker 1: decisions which have hurt so many different incarnated Jesus' and
- 19:01Speaker 1: then he challenged Donald Trump to fight him naked to
- 19:04Speaker 1: the death.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Good to the death, neked to the death. Baby that
- 19:18Speaker 5: is that is a next level threat or challenge.
- 19:23Speaker 9: Have you.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Have you ever watched The Righteous jim Stones.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Funny you bring that up. Tara and I just started
- 19:32Speaker 1: watching it like last week. I think we're three episodes in,
- 19:37Speaker 1: so we're still very new to it.
- 19:39Speaker 2: It's a fantastic show and.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Far, so far, I'm loving it. I wanted to see
- 19:44Speaker 1: it because I loved the cast, and then when I
- 19:46Speaker 1: found out the premise, I was like, oh, I'm on board.
- 19:49Speaker 2: It's it is.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Danny McBride and the one that really I liked him before,
- 19:58Speaker 3: but and he has since.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I Walter Goggins is just brilliant. I don't I don't.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I can't remember when Baby Billy gets into the mix
- 20:07Speaker 3: in The Righteous Gemstones.
- 20:09Speaker 1: He's not in it yet. Like I said, I think
- 20:12Speaker 1: we're like three ish episodes in and I have not
- 20:15Speaker 1: I have yet to see his character. I know it's
- 20:17Speaker 1: coming because I've seen the promos, but he's not.
- 20:20Speaker 3: The you know, it's one of those Second season wasn't
- 20:23Speaker 3: my favorite. Third season was fantastic, and I really thought
- 20:27Speaker 3: they'd wrapped it up then, and then they've done this
- 20:29Speaker 3: four season and so far fourth season excellent. And you
- 20:33Speaker 3: will not unfortunately this whole you know, fighting him naked.
- 20:40Speaker 3: There's a scene an episode two of this four season
- 20:43Speaker 3: that you you once you watch it and you think
- 20:46Speaker 3: of nicked Donald Trump, you'll you'll didn't you'll understand why
- 20:49Speaker 3: this is quite entertaining.
- 20:50Speaker 5: I try not to think of really any man naked,
- 20:53Speaker 5: let alone.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's uh.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes sometimes we're not offered that choice.
- 21:00Speaker 3: No, it comes out of nowhere and it swings around
- 21:05Speaker 3: for a while.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Oh no, that reminds me of borat.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Uh.
- 21:11Speaker 1: If you had to describe it really quickly, Righteous Jymstones,
- 21:14Speaker 1: how would you describe the.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Show a.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Parody of a mega church family from the South and
- 21:28Speaker 3: that where at one point they probably had good intentions,
- 21:32Speaker 3: but the kids are all spoiled brats and f ups,
- 21:37Speaker 3: and one's basically Danny McBride's character is is just kind
- 21:45Speaker 3: of an imbecile, the sister is a slut, and the
- 21:48Speaker 3: other brothers gay and it but it's just it's so
- 21:53Speaker 3: well written.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And the dad is played by John Goodman.
- 21:56Speaker 3: John Goodman is the is the megachurch dad and who
- 22:00Speaker 3: kind of at one point, really I think, you know,
- 22:02Speaker 3: had good intentions with then he looks at what he
- 22:05Speaker 3: has created and just just face palms a lot of times.
- 22:11Speaker 3: And then and Walter Goggins is their uncle, who if
- 22:17Speaker 3: the talent of the family was their mother who died.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And then Walter Goggins is.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Just brilliant as his character most reminds me you have
- 22:29Speaker 3: to go back, kind of like a take on Fletch Lives,
- 22:35Speaker 3: chevy Chase's big tooth religious character.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Oh, I can't wait now. I love because I love
- 22:42Speaker 1: Fletch Lives. I know a lot of people like to
- 22:45Speaker 1: poop poo on chevy Chase and the Fletch sequel, but
- 22:48Speaker 1: I love that movie. So that has me really looking
- 22:50Speaker 1: forward to watching more episodes of The Righteous jim Stones.
- 22:53Speaker 1: But back to this guy, the Disturbed Florida man who
- 22:56Speaker 1: was arrested for making threats against the president, saying that
- 23:00Speaker 1: Donald Trump has personally made business decisions which have hurt
- 23:02Speaker 1: so many different reincarnated Jesuses, and then he challenged Trump
- 23:06Speaker 1: to fight him naked to the death. Now, there are
- 23:09Speaker 1: a lot of ways you could go at this, especially
- 23:12Speaker 1: if you're President Trump. Right, if I was in his shoes,
- 23:17Speaker 1: If I'm Trump, I'd actually be flattered because I don't
- 23:21Speaker 1: remember anyone wanting to naked fight Biden.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I thought you were going to say you were going
- 23:31Speaker 2: to pick me in the bottom.
- 23:34Speaker 5: That's a different show.
- 23:41Speaker 6: You're in the tree House. Visit us online. I'm Freehouse
- 23:47Speaker 6: on Air dot com.

- 24:16Speaker 5: We don't mind horning ourselves.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Out because if you like the Treehouse show, then you
- 24:20Speaker 1: will love us on social media. So give us a
- 24:22Speaker 1: follow at Treehouse on Air. At Treehouse on Air is
- 24:26Speaker 1: our handle across social media, So give us a follow.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm Dan on Malley along with Trade Trenholme. Back inside
- 24:32Speaker 1: the Treehouse now, Chipotle is one of my favorite.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Fast casual restaurants.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Technically it's not fast food they call it fast casual,
- 24:44Speaker 1: but whatever, it's one of my favorite places to get
- 24:46Speaker 1: a quick, healthy meal. Okay, I just want that on
- 24:49Speaker 1: the record. I don't need to disclose that while reporting
- 24:52Speaker 1: this next story, but I just, you know, wanted to
- 24:54Speaker 1: throw it out there. That being said, Uh, Chipotle Corporate
- 25:00Speaker 1: had to issue a big apology because of one of
- 25:03Speaker 1: its locations not being able to spell. Okay that Chipotle
- 25:10Speaker 1: in Huntsville, Alabama had to issue an apology after an
- 25:14Speaker 1: unfortunate spelling error on a sign that led to outrage.
- 25:19Speaker 1: The location misspelled the word vinegar. They misspelled it so
- 25:24Speaker 1: badly that it led to public outrage and accusations of
- 25:29Speaker 1: racism because vinegar is spelled v I N E G
- 25:35Speaker 1: A R, but they spelled it like.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Oh no, oh no, uh huh.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Yeah mm hmm. Are you seeing it in your head now?
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yes?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Pretty bad, isn't it.
- 25:51Speaker 2: It's horrible. Oh.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Also, I have to throw this out there. I'm pretty
- 25:57Speaker 1: sure that is racist. As my great grandmother was, she
- 26:02Speaker 1: never put that together. She was more obvious in her racism.
- 26:09Speaker 3: This is where you know, it hits a level of
- 26:13Speaker 3: stupidity or racism, because, if we're being honest, we used
- 26:21Speaker 3: to work on a radio show where the host very
- 26:24Speaker 3: much pressed lines on racial lines, on what he could
- 26:28Speaker 3: get away with no ill intent, but he sometimes tiptoed
- 26:34Speaker 3: into areas that it was very uncomfortable.
- 26:38Speaker 2: He never thought of this one.
- 26:40Speaker 5: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 26:42Speaker 1: The most racist of people I've known in my life
- 26:44Speaker 1: never put this together where you misspell vinegar. Because a
- 26:50Speaker 1: photo of the sign quickly made its way to social media,
- 26:53Speaker 1: where users expressed this belief, frustration, and anger. Then he
- 26:57Speaker 1: questioned how such a mistake could have been made and
- 26:59Speaker 1: whether it was intentional. Some called for accountability, while others
- 27:02Speaker 1: debated whether it was a simple typo or something more serious.
- 27:07Speaker 1: The restaurant responded swiftly, releasing a public statement expressing regret
- 27:12Speaker 1: for the error. A company spokesperson clarified that it was
- 27:15Speaker 1: an unintentional mistake and not reflective of the company's values.
- 27:18Speaker 5: I'm, of course not uh.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Their statement read, in part, we deeply regret the error
- 27:23Speaker 1: and understand the concern it has caused. This was an
- 27:25Speaker 1: unfortunate misspelling, and we are taking immediate steps to ensure
- 27:29Speaker 1: that it does not happen again. The only way to
- 27:31Speaker 1: do that, I'm guessing is by giving spelling lessons to
- 27:37Speaker 1: your Chipotle employees.
- 27:40Speaker 3: If I don't know how to spell a word with
- 27:42Speaker 3: technology these days, all you have to do is open
- 27:45Speaker 3: up Google and start typing, typing in the word how
- 27:49Speaker 3: you know, and it will generally spit out an obviouly
- 27:53Speaker 3: You go, Okay, yeah, that's how you would spell that.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Unless, unless, dude to previous searches at your fingertips, a
- 28:05Speaker 1: different suggestion pops up. I hope that that was not
- 28:10Speaker 1: the case. But maybe that's the reason why some people
- 28:13Speaker 1: are still outraged saying that maybe this you know that
- 28:17Speaker 1: it's uh indicative of other things.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I mean, did ask Jeeves have a racist brother?
- 28:25Speaker 4: No?
- 28:26Speaker 2: Ask Jethrow. That's like the only.
- 28:36Speaker 3: And for all you youngins out there, asked Jeeves was
- 28:38Speaker 3: a search engine for the early two thousands.
- 28:42Speaker 1: But you had to use that because you didn't want it,
- 28:44Speaker 1: because if if you were looking for that type of content,
- 28:47Speaker 1: you weren't going to go to Lecos because their mascot
- 28:50Speaker 1: was a black dog. I think that I think this
- 28:57Speaker 1: whole story we've touched on the reason why it is
- 29:01Speaker 1: so shocking to you and me trays because we come
- 29:04Speaker 1: from a generation where sometimes parents, definitely grandparents, certainly great
- 29:10Speaker 1: grandparents did not hold back when it came to sharing
- 29:15Speaker 1: certain racial thoughts and whatnot. So to make it to
- 29:24Speaker 1: make a mistake with a word this egregious where you
- 29:31Speaker 1: misspell vinegar. By the way, the sign that was posted
- 29:36Speaker 1: at Chipotle, it wasn't just a word. There was a
- 29:40Speaker 1: reason for it. According to the sign that was posted,
- 29:45Speaker 1: it read Chipotle, no more sauce. We apologize. What they
- 29:54Speaker 1: wanted to say was vennugar sauce, but they they did
- 30:01Speaker 1: a different sound for uh and went more.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Of and it's Alabama. You just you have to be better.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Yeah, see where it happened. When you think about what happened,
- 30:17Speaker 1: when you hear about where it happened, I wasn't as surprised.
- 30:25Speaker 4: You're in the Treehouse.

- 31:00Speaker 1: Treehouse on air at gmail dot com. That's Treehouse on
- 31:04Speaker 1: air at gmail dot com to advertise right here inside
- 31:08Speaker 1: the Treehouse. That's true, whether it's on the radio at
- 31:11Speaker 1: one of three point five the X and Brown What
- 31:13Speaker 1: or here Inside the Treehouse show podcast Back Inside the
- 31:16Speaker 1: Treehouse Now. I'm danil Malling along with Trey Trendham. It's Monday,
- 31:20Speaker 1: March twenty fourth, twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate. What's some birthdays?
- 31:28Speaker 1: Turning thirty five today.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Keisha Castle Hughes.
- 31:33Speaker 1: She played Obara sand on Game of Thrones, and if
- 31:36Speaker 1: you've ever watched episodes of Game of Thrones, you don't
- 31:40Speaker 1: know most of the characters by their names unless they're
- 31:43Speaker 1: like the main ones.
- 31:44Speaker 5: She's also FBI FBI agent.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Hannah Gibson on FBI Most Wanted, So if you watch that,
- 31:51Speaker 1: there you go.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Kisha is thirty five today.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Fynn Jones, also from Game of Thrones, is thirty seven today.
- 31:57Speaker 1: He played Laris Tyrrell, but I'm pretty sure he died
- 32:01Speaker 1: early enough where I didn't remember him. But he also
- 32:04Speaker 1: played Danny rand on Marvel's television show on Netflix, Iron Fist,
- 32:09Speaker 1: which I did watch.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I liked that and it got really panned it. It did.
- 32:15Speaker 1: There were things about that show that I liked, and
- 32:18Speaker 1: I didn't understand all the hate that went along with it.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I did recognize that his love interest slash sidekick, the
- 32:26Speaker 1: Asian girl. I thought she was phenomenal in the show,
- 32:31Speaker 1: and next thing you know, I'm seeing her in a
- 32:33Speaker 1: bunch of different shows.
- 32:34Speaker 5: So I can at least bought some talent.
- 32:40Speaker 3: There was that gap where they did Daredevil, Iron Fist,
- 32:45Speaker 3: Luke Cage.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Jessica Huh, Jessica Jones.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I, for the most part, liked all those shows.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I have not. Have you watched the new Daredevil.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I'm in the process. I'm only in the third episode
- 33:01Speaker 1: right now.
- 33:01Speaker 2: How is it?
- 33:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry, fourth episode. I'm just starting the fourth episode.
- 33:05Speaker 5: It's good.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Like most of the Marvel TV shows, it's a little
- 33:10Speaker 1: slow moving in certain areas, but it's it's it's interesting
- 33:14Speaker 1: right now. The downside is there's not a whole lot
- 33:17Speaker 1: of Daredevil stuff happening yet because it starts out with
- 33:21Speaker 1: some Daredevil and then you get some more Matt Murdoch,
- 33:25Speaker 1: which is dangerous territory because you don't want to lose
- 33:29Speaker 1: the action, you know what I mean?
- 33:32Speaker 5: But I know it's coming.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I know it's coming, and I know I know John
- 33:36Speaker 1: Burnhal is in the next episode as the Punisher, So
- 33:39Speaker 1: I'm excited. I love I loved that show on Netflix.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I thought it was awesome. I was very excited to
- 33:45Speaker 1: see it coming back. And I hope that it does
- 33:47Speaker 1: what Marvel hopes it does, which is salvage a good
- 33:51Speaker 1: chunk of Marveldom. Otherwise it really is gonna be all
- 33:55Speaker 1: about dead pulling, right Reynolds.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Dicey territory right now. Yeah, a little.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Weary turns out there as skeletons and everybody's closed up.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Other birthdays today, So Finn Jones, who played Iron Fist.
- 34:09Speaker 1: He is thirty seven today. Lake Bell very talented actress.
- 34:12Speaker 1: She's forty six today. She's the voice in many many things.
- 34:15Speaker 1: She's a phenomenal actress and voice actress. She is currently
- 34:19Speaker 1: Poison Ivy on the HBO Max animated series Harley Quinn.
- 34:23Speaker 1: She was also in the league. She was in she
- 34:27Speaker 1: was in No Strings Attached as like the best Friend.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Very good actress. Lake Bell turning forty six today. Jessica Chastain,
- 34:35Speaker 1: another phenomenal actress. She is forty eight today. She's from
- 34:39Speaker 1: the Zoo Keeper's Wife, The Help, Zero Dark thirty, and
- 34:42Speaker 1: The Martian.
- 34:45Speaker 5: I love The Martian.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I cannot say enough good things about that. That's easily
- 34:50Speaker 1: a top five all time for me, maybe top three.
- 34:54Speaker 3: You are the person who actually got me because of
- 34:57Speaker 3: your love for that movie.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I watched it and it is It is a phenomenal movie.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Isn't that good? It's everything you want in the movie.
- 35:06Speaker 1: There is a book, by the way, and I did
- 35:08Speaker 1: read the book. You and I were having a conversation
- 35:11Speaker 1: earlier about how the older we get, the more we're reading,
- 35:14Speaker 1: which is good for us. I finally, after seeing the
- 35:17Speaker 1: movie four or five times, I decided to read the book.
- 35:21Speaker 1: And it's very, very accurate to the book. The only
- 35:27Speaker 1: thing that there's only one thing in the book that's
- 35:30Speaker 1: not in the movie, and it totally makes sense why
- 35:32Speaker 1: they didn't put it in there, and I agree with it.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Go't me to tell you do you want to read it?
- 35:38Speaker 1: I'll just tell me so. In the book, there was
- 35:42Speaker 1: one final option if something went awry with the space
- 35:51Speaker 1: mission to Mars, to where if there's no more food
- 35:56Speaker 1: available then there were and and people were dying, then
- 36:04Speaker 1: there were things that could be done to sustain life
- 36:07Speaker 1: food wise, eating.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Other, eating the dead.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, uh yeah, so if things in the book, they
- 36:15Speaker 1: had it in there. If things get really bad, you
- 36:16Speaker 1: just have you have to eat each other. That was
- 36:18Speaker 1: actually mentioned in the book. I understand why they didn't
- 36:20Speaker 1: have it in the movie, and.
- 36:21Speaker 2: It made sense.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Other birthdays today, Peyton Manning turns forty nine.
- 36:30Speaker 2: The most unlikely Pitchman ever, It really is.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Can you you remember when he came out of college,
- 36:36Speaker 1: he was just a he was such a yokel Oh.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I couldn't.
- 36:41Speaker 5: I couldn't.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I couldn't imagine that after seeing him, you know, being
- 36:46Speaker 1: drafted and everything, coming out of Tennessee and hearing him
- 36:48Speaker 1: talk that he would that he had such an awesome personality,
- 36:52Speaker 1: would be an amazing pitch man everywhere on TV.
- 36:56Speaker 5: He would just he seemed like some guy.
- 36:57Speaker 1: They picked up at a at a Bucky's.
- 37:00Speaker 2: He was Eli out of college.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. That's even Eli is transitioning into pretty
- 37:07Speaker 1: interesting territory.
- 37:08Speaker 3: But Eli's dumbface was Peyton coming out of college. Yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 3: he just somehow I don't know if he had work
- 37:18Speaker 3: done or whatever, But then he somehow became one of
- 37:20Speaker 3: the great pitchmen of all time.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Somehow they they found a way to fix that. Yeah,
- 37:26Speaker 1: and lucky for Arch Manning, he doesn't seem to have
- 37:29Speaker 1: the stupid face, So good on him.
- 37:33Speaker 2: No, that's uh, you know.
- 37:34Speaker 3: They everyone says that the true talent of that family
- 37:38Speaker 3: was Cooper.
- 37:41Speaker 2: And Arch may may be the uh be the truth
- 37:48Speaker 2: behind that.
- 37:49Speaker 1: We're gonna find out.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. It may be a while. He's
- 37:53Speaker 3: getting enough money at Texas, he may stay put.
- 37:56Speaker 2: For a while.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Yeah, because when he goes pro, he's gonna have to
- 37:59Speaker 1: take a pay cut.
- 38:05Speaker 4: Visit us online.
- 38:10Speaker 2: What's that said? And he'll have to play.
- 38:16Speaker 1: More money is sitting on the bech.
- 38:27Speaker 10: You're listening to the Treehouse.

- 39:06Speaker 1: them guys, I want to tell them this or that,
- 39:08Speaker 1: or you have a question about the show, whatever it is,
- 39:10Speaker 1: hit that Treehouse talkback button the microphone on the website
- 39:13Speaker 1: Treehouse air dot com.

- 39:27Speaker 2: You don't know.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Dan and I go back now close to twenty five years,
- 39:29Speaker 3: and so there's a lot of things that we talk
- 39:33Speaker 3: about that other people may, you know, through the process
- 39:36Speaker 3: of the twenty five years of the radio show and
- 39:38Speaker 3: everything else, you may not understand.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Let us know, and we'll let's in on the joke.
- 39:43Speaker 5: That's right, We'll peel back the curtain for you. Yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 5: although just beware there's some stuff back there.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Yeah, some deep dark stuff.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Uh huh yeah, Donald Trump wrestling necket might be a
- 39:58Speaker 3: better visual m hm, yeah.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Really sinking in right now. So I've got to go
- 40:07Speaker 1: to Treehouse on air dot Com hit that Treehouse talk
- 40:09Speaker 1: back button back inside the Treehouse. Now, I'm Daniel Malley
- 40:11Speaker 1: along with Trey Trenholm. I thought about doing one thing,
- 40:16Speaker 1: but now I'm gonna shift into something just a little
- 40:18Speaker 1: bit different than what I was planning, although there is, uh,
- 40:22Speaker 1: you know, a reason behind it. So let's see if
- 40:26Speaker 1: I still have from earlier. Yeah, I do from earlier.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I shared with you something that we shared on our
- 40:32Speaker 1: Instagram last week, a little song called Chicken Banana, and
- 40:37Speaker 1: I'm not sure if everyone had heard that before, Trey,
- 40:39Speaker 1: have you did you hear of a chicken banana before
- 40:41Speaker 1: we posted it on Instagram the other day?
- 40:43Speaker 5: No, here it is in case you missed it earlier.
- 40:48Speaker 9: Chicken ba Chicken ba, Chicken.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Chicken.
- 40:59Speaker 1: So this is a stupid thing that happened years ago
- 41:03Speaker 1: where someone decided to put these two things together chicken
- 41:06Speaker 1: and banana, made a song out of it, and it
- 41:08Speaker 1: sort of became a viral sensation at the time, and
- 41:11Speaker 1: like most things that are viral, it'll boomerang, it'll come
- 41:14Speaker 1: back around, and right now it's coming back around. But
- 41:17Speaker 1: it did remind me of another Diddy because there were
- 41:22Speaker 1: lots of them years ago. And I wonder if you
- 41:25Speaker 1: Trey had heard about pineapple pin as well, because as
- 41:30Speaker 1: if chicken banana wasn't bad enough, there was also at
- 41:34Speaker 1: one point pineapple pin.
- 41:38Speaker 5: I have a pen, I have a apple.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Apple Pand so it's an Asian man with glasses of pencil,
- 41:49Speaker 1: thin mustache, wearing pimpy type clothing. He's got what looks
