- 0:20[SPEAKER_04]: Welcome in, welcome in.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_04]: It is Tuesday, Eden, July, twenty second.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_04]: My God, Carl, this month is absolutely flown by and we are coming up to a pretty fun anniversary here.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_04]: It was just a, I think one day from today where we met up in Vegas, maybe it was two days and made the, the drive across Death Valley to make that, uh, Mount Whitney, uh, attempts.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_04]: So it's been going pretty well since then.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, last time we saw each other in person, uh, how are you doing?
- 0:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm good.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_03]: I'm good, man.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's, yeah, it has been a crazy month.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_03]: Thinking of all the things that we've gone through.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_03]: My daughter just had surgery yesterday.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_03]: Her first surgery.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_03]: So she was kind of in freak out mode.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_03]: We weren't allowed to call it that.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: It was, she was going to the appointment.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_03]: And so she'd feel a little bit better.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_03]: But she's been doing pretty good.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: I got a phone call today that said, hey, your dog's on Main Street.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_03]: So skateboardist was out there.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so it's like it's been kind of a crazy day, but it's been it's been a good week and excited about obviously training camp kicking off, man.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: Football's back.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, kind of.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I consider this football.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_03]: There's actual football news players will be on the field.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm definitely pumped up for this.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we've talked about it a lot on here, right?
- 1:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of the general ramp up to the regular season, but this is step one.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_04]: So hopefully, can you hear me right now?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_04]: I can't control anything on my end.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I can do it.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, yeah, I can hear it.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_04]: All right, yeah, okay, we're good.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_04]: We're good.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_04]: We're good.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_04]: We're rocking again, a computer freaked out for a second.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_04]: No reason to figure out though, we got Papa Bear saying good evening, Broncos Country, thirteen and four plus love it.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much for coming in at four, thirty one.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_04]: So as Chad was messaging us to get the stream off the ground and everything.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_04]: So appreciate that he's waiting for us.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_04]: We're always waiting for you, Papa Bear.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we don't have to wait because you're always here right away.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_04]: We appreciate you.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_04]: We got also Mike Thompson coming in as well as Ernie Mace here.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_04]: And on Facebook, so Ernie, dropping the thumbs up over on the Facebook side, double dipping.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_04]: We appreciate it.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe hop over to Twitch and X as well and give us a hello and a thumbs up.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we're not above that at all.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_04]: Good to see you.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_04]: We also got Emily Tesprep.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_04]: He says, I am party.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_04]: You saw if Yesta Scott was giving me and I Spanish lesson before and it's toy, a key peda la fiesta.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'm here for the party.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_04]: I think I did okay.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_04]: I guess I took French like an idiot.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_04]: I did not like my Spanish teacher in middle school and I did French one and two in middle school and three and four in high school and I didn't have to take it in college.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, I really didn't enjoy that too much.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_04]: But in hindsight, it would have been very smart to have taken Spanish more so than what I have right now.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_04]: So that's a big regret.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_03]: I have.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_03]: I've lived in two separate Spanish speaking countries.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm still terrible at Spanish.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I still remember one of my most embarrassing moments was when somebody came up and they had, they were trying to get me to date some girl from Ecuador.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_03]: And I was turning beat red because they're just talking about, hello YouTube, make a cue couple, all that fun stuff.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: And one of them walked up and they said, oh, Carl, two of them better Sada.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, see, see, and they all burst out laughing.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, why in the world are they laughing?
- 3:46[SPEAKER_03]: Embarrassed, I mean, it's pregnant.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, well, see.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, congrats.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, thank you.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_03]: So that was even more embarrassing moments.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: I figured that out like two weeks later after they kept rubbing my belly.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_04]: Well, God bless him.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_04]: That's good for them.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_04]: A little light-hearted fun.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_04]: I'm doing it.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's talking about not having embarrassing moments.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_04]: What I do remember from Spanish is don't-dayista, Elbanjo.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_04]: So, uh, to avoid embarrassing moments.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_04]: That's when I have in my back pocket, uh, just in case.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, we got, uh, Doug, oh, we got, uh, I'd pay like extra for belly robes.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's, that's a, uh, that's a super, super chat.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_04]: Appreciate.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_04]: We got Michael Runky on the house.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_04]: Good evening, Nick and Carl.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'm building the Broncos, Gobo Broncos.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: Good to see you, Michael, over on Facebook.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_04]: And I see people in chat talking about it, uh, Prince of Darkness.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_04]: Aussie Osborne passed away, seventy six years old.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_04]: You know, a lot of people.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: are born and die, but not everybody lives in, you know, you can live whatever way you want, but man, that guy, he lived a heck of a life.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_04]: So I just always think of the, the Osborne, so Sharon, the dog on the carpet again, but God bless him.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_04]: You know,
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: Always will love crazy train.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, yeah, that's I'm not as much of a hardcore rock.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure Scott has a lot more opinions on the discology of Aussie, but, uh, rest in peace to a legend, seventy six years old, but that's a lot of life lived in those seventy six years for sure.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_03]: That is, and, uh, you know,
- 5:19[SPEAKER_03]: I accept.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_03]: I know a little bit of his music, know a little bit of his story and seem like an interesting dude to hang out with for anybody that got that opportunity for sure, but just hopefully hopefully his family having a good time celebrating the life that he lived and just wishing the best for them is they mourn him leaving for sure.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean,
- 5:47[SPEAKER_04]: live the life and, you know, rest in peace, Aussie.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_04]: We got Chase Walner in the house, great to see a chase.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_04]: David Young can also say in the rest in peace, Prince of Darkness.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_04]: And we got our guy, the crunch, David Camello says good evening.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_04]: Do you guys see a strong argument for Carl Oftis as good or better than Benito?
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: See you tomorrow, Carl.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_04]: So, there you go, Carl.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_04]: You got a date?
- 6:07[SPEAKER_04]: Nice.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_04]: Remember, no pregnancy in Spanish, but yeah.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_04]: different kind of players crawl off just a little bit more of a pocket cruncher early down player.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he'd play opposite off of Benito really well.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_04]: I know that Eric will disagree with me if we talk about this tomorrow, but Benito because of what he brings to the table.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_04]: As that like strike out picture, if you will, our power hitter, if you will, maybe not as well completely well rounded as car loftus, but he has the most important thing you can do for a pass voucher, which is get after the Corbin getsack.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that car loftus contract is probably
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: on the lower end of what you should expect for Benito personally, but we will see.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the market we saw at TJ Watts looked like it's not going to be TJ Watts, but I would expect somewhere in the Carloftist neighborhood, maybe with a little sugar sprinkled on it, maybe five percent more, ten percent more, and maybe even a little bit more in the guarantees because Brock was got rich owners and the chiefs do not.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and obviously his isn't getting done quite yet.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_03]: So, like I said, there's he's going to get that little bit of bump depending on when they do get this done.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm with you.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_03]: I do think Bonito offers that, that wow factor that really can change a game around Carl office.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_03]: He's probably the more consistent guy from play in play out.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_03]: But I also think Bonito, I don't think we've seen the full picture of what he can be.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_03]: every single season he has gotten a little bit better than he was the year before.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_03]: Carl office, I think he's kind of been that same guy since about year two in the league.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's a good player.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, he just got a nice contract there.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to take away from him, but I don't think we're going to see this all sudden jump from Carl office to a top ten edge rusher.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm not saying Bonitos is going to reach that level either, but I'm just saying I think there's still room for him to grow as a player.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: And I think he has found his place in this system.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_03]: is another big part of this, where they are a very aggressive system, telling them, hey, go get the quarterback.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_03]: We're not going to ask you to too gap a whole lot, which is a good thing.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_03]: You don't want to ask me to do that.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, even on some run downs, we're going to take, we're going to ask you to take some chances.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: And we're going to hope that that's going to pay off in the long run to get those those big time negative place.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: And so Bonito fits that perfectly.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: And I do, I think it would be
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: It'd be a pretty good thing for the broncus to get something done if they can.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a little nervous about this because the broncus have also spent a lot at the position.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: Cooper got paid pretty okay.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: Use the third brown pick, last year used, I think it was what, third or fourth brown pick this year with Q Robinson.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_03]: You got Tillman.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: You got a couple other undrafted guys that maybe could have showed a little something for you this year.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_03]: And so I'm interested to see how that plays out if they're willing to wait and say, hey, let's see how good our room is.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_03]: And if we can live without Bonito, or if they say, hey, let's get this done.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_03]: And then we can start figuring out some things after this year with like Cooper, maybe we move on from him.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: So these young guys can come up.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: Or we just keep this room really strong from top to bottom where we trust five guys to come in and make plays.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I am with you.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_04]: And good points.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_04]: And they have to make sure you tune in to see Carl with David tomorrow as well.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: So appreciate you coming in with the super chat there.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_04]: David, hope you're doing a lot there in Shyland.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_04]: I think you're out there in Chicago land.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: Great Smith.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: Good to see you.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_04]: Good evening.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: We got a guy dang a very sports behind day weather spoon coming in here.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_04]: Phil says none of you are up in my tummy.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm persuasive, Phil.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm persuasive.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: We'll see young saying, rest in peace, Aussie, of course.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_04]: Rest in peace, Aussie.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_04]: Good to see you.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_04]: We got William in the house and Benito makes more splash plays.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: He just a closer, right?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_04]: It's a strikeout picture if you want to call up that, you know, to get that out.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_04]: or maybe he's a home runheader.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_04]: You have a well-rounded player, but guy who the ball clears the fence more often than what it does with Carloft is going to be.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_04]: I think there's a little bit more value on that, even as the caveman brain as it is.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_04]: It turns out, you know.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_04]: getting those doubles and getting on basing.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_04]: You want to well-rounded player in the end, but if you can hit dingers, I don't even remember that Simpson episode.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_04]: Do you want to find out the secrets of this?
- 10:26[SPEAKER_04]: Or do you want to see me hit some dingers?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_04]: Just hides the thing under his hat.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: It may be happy with the Simpson's reference there.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: We got DeAndre saying Buffalo ran right at Nick's in the playoff game.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_04]: Kind of two an extent.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_04]: I also want to give credit that the Buffalo Bills probably have the second best offensive tackle duo in football.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: Spencer Brown has turned into arguably one of the top, if not the top, run-bocking, tackles in football.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_04]: Dan Dawkins is incredible too.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: And that wasn't just a failure of Benito's the entire defense and the linebackers and the nickel play.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this is PJ Lock at a horrible game.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's hard to really pin it on one player in that one.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_04]: They got thoroughly beat and nicknames problems there, but I think he's not a first ballot Hall of Fame.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_04]: He's not Miles Garrett out there, right?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_04]: There's going to be some areas just with his profile.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: He's not going to be perfect in every single spot.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_04]: And this is coming from somebody who is critical of Benito at the draft pick and early on, but what he does well is valuable and there is a market for it.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_04]: And also, I don't know if you've seen him recently, but he looks pretty jacked.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's never going to be, again,
- 11:36[SPEAKER_04]: Miles Garrett alien out there where my kill Williams in the last draft class where there, you know, they don't even have to bend down to touch their toes, kind of that giant alien frame, but you can improve their still land as amazing as getting after the quarterback.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: You're right.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it was a complete let down by the entire defense defense line was getting pushed back three, four yards.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_03]: linebackers were out of position, big time.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: Bonito, yes, he got pushed back to.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to take away from from hand, but it really was just an all hands-on deck bad day for the defense.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, I guess, Sir Tan had a good day.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's probably about the, yeah, you can point that and say, oh, yeah, that was all right.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: The rest of them, it just was not not pretty.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_03]: So, and there's not many teams that can do that to the Broncos.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_03]: I also think that the Broncos were hard to get a little bit better at that, improving their linebacker core so that they got a little bit more discipline, a little bit more veteran presence to understand what teams are trying to do at them, defense flying, hopefully those guys
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: can hold up a little bit better.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: You also took save on Jones to maybe add a little bit of depth.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_03]: And you hope some of the young guys can prove it was a reke.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he can take step up this year.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: Then your edge room, like I said, you've got some different guys this year that you are hoping to take another step, Ellis.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe against some of those kind of teams, like Buffalo or Baltimore, you try to get a little bit more size on the field.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: to hold up against the run game.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to sacrifice a little bit in the past game, but fulfillment.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's another one.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's what, two, eighty, two, eighty, five for an edge guy.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe you figure out a better way to use that rotation this year that you didn't know you had last year.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, by the end of the year, you would hope they would have known, but I think they're still just trying to get their best players on the field.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_03]: So there's a reason Nick Bonito was a second team all pro.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like he had an incredible season.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_03]: We cannot try to take away from that.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_03]: One bad game doesn't negate what he did in those other seventeen.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_03]: So we've got feel coming in though.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you Phil with some stars saying good evening Nick Carl and Deacon Scott said to hear Josie Jewel has retired because of lingering concussion issues violence forward hashtag.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome hashtag image rich for live hashtag BFL.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, that's that's a tough one.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_03]: You hate to see agrees.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_04]: I did want to correct.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_04]: He's not officially retired.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_04]: But he still has lingering concussion symptoms.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to get healthy and whatnot.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_04]: He's still in the concussion protocol.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_04]: Was it seven months after his last one?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_04]: And that monster focus on his health.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_04]: So if his symptoms clear, he might come back.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_04]: But we will see.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it is really too bad.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_04]: There was this
- 14:21[SPEAKER_04]: Third contract, I believe he's been in the league for a bit.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_04]: So he's made some money.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe he wants to get back up to the Turkey farm in Dekora, Iowa, which is my favorite little spot in the entire state.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see, but wish him well and was a good useful Bronco and a consummate professional during his years in the league.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_04]: So shout out to him.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_04]: It is a violent sport.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_04]: He's also a smaller body for the position and took some major hits playing the big ten west, rugby style football out there as well with Iowa those years.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, too bad not hasn't retired yet, but this may be this might be the last we've heard of him in the NFL with the concussions and symptoms lasting seven months after he's got I think two kids also so it would make sense if he did step away.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_03]: Right and I think I mean we've seen a lot of players retire this year and and even a lot of them waiting up until the very last minute because they do love the game.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: But they also understand that there's some long-term ramifications for making a choice to come back for another year.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_03]: And like I said, some of them have young families that they want to go take care of.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_03]: So they've made their money.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_03]: And they want to step away and try to save as much health as they possibly can.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't blame them one bit.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_03]: I think some of the older players that have retired
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: Twenty thirty years ago, if they would have known some of the things that they they know today about health of the body and stuff maybe they would retire a little bit earlier so that they're not having as many issues as they are right now.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_03]: I know you've been a big advocate for health care for life for these guys for for what they do on the field and
- 15:53[SPEAKER_03]: and I don't disagree with you one bit.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: So he's another one, like Seth was a great Bronco, great player for Iowa, and I wish him well, whatever he does make the choice.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_03]: If he does come back, that's great.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_03]: If he makes a decision, I'm gonna go be with my family, and I can set a hangout on the farm.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_03]: Great for him.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I wish him nothing but the best.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'll see.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_04]: I got Michael around here talking about Zack Tom's contract, Zack Tom, fourth round pick for drafts to go kind of play right tack on my play center.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_04]: He's good useful piece.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: Broncos were he was one of the guys we I was high on I mean granted, high on a number of guys, but
- 16:31[SPEAKER_04]: ended up taking a Wasureka and Mathis instead, but Tom would have been a useful one for sure and happy to see him get paid.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_04]: I think out of a wake forest.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_04]: So moving on though, Broncos are back, right?
- 16:43[SPEAKER_04]: We got some people in the house, not that practice isn't everything, but we had some podium sessions today, including current face of the franchise, at least on the defensive side of the ball and potentially the best
- 16:56[SPEAKER_04]: defense a player in the entire NFL, not maybe not the most valuable, contract speaks value with the edges and past pressures versus cornerbacks, but maybe the best patch scutin.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: He took the podium today and what did just again?
- 17:08[SPEAKER_04]: Talked about it with jewel, it's true for certain.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_04]: Consumant professional, he doesn't really follow the other than the best dressed kind of thing and wanting to have that good swagger sign the Jordan deal, apparently one of the few players that has the exclusive Nike NFL Jordan deal now.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_04]: But he took the podium today.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_04]: And I mean, gosh, really excited to see what he can do again this season.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm very optimistic.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if he'll repeat defensive player of the year because it's really hard to win it twice in a row, let alone for a defensive back.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_04]: But man, he's on a first ballot hall of Hall of Fame all decade team pathway right now.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was really neat.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_03]: The media were trying to get him to essentially kind of hype up.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: all the things that he's accomplished.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_03]: And he just stayed very humble through the entire conversation.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I got more to do.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: I got more to accomplish with this team.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: And I just was very impressed with his demeanor considering all, like I said, he got to go meet Michael Jordan.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_03]: He got to add this hardware to his, his profile room, all these things.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_03]: And yet he just, nope, I'm going to keep going.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: And I think of
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: being a first round pick, making all that money, didn't change him, he got this huge second contract, didn't change him, actually played his best season ever after he got his second contract.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: So those kind of things, I think it just shows the professional player that he is that he doesn't let those things get to his head, he doesn't let it, well, I'm at this level, I don't have to do all these little things to be great.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_03]: No, he just keeps going and being that true pros pro that you love to have on your team.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no doubt.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_04]: And it's no secret, you know, everything is connected in football, the offense with the offensive line play and well, the next protecting the football, the pass rush taking off last season and certain everything is positive feedback loop feeds into itself.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_04]: But we do have some clips of certain that will be pulling up here in a sec.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_04]: We got Joseph Groves first as what's your biggest concern on defense besides inside linebacker?
- 19:13[SPEAKER_04]: It's probably the fact, I mean, as much as we love Benito and Zach Allen, I don't think either are, you know, Mike Parsons, Chris Jones, Aaron Donald type of on Miller at his peak type of game records where
- 19:28[SPEAKER_04]: It's, you don't have that on offense either, but kind of like that I need a bucket.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_04]: This is the guy who's going to close absolutely for me, no matter the circumstances.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_04]: I think Benito is a tier under that as a past rusher and I think the contracts will show that as well whenever that comes out.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_04]: Unless we wait a year and he plays another season like he did last year, but right now, I think it's probably just the lack of a no doubt.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_04]: first Bell at Hall of Fame superstar on the defensive line, which again, you can get around that if you're really deep, it's just harder to replicate that year after a year.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think for me, it's that you kind of hinted at it there, but the regression.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of these guys played their very best year in the NFL that we've seen and it wasn't even close to some of their other years.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: So do we see some of them regress back to what they were before?
- 20:17[SPEAKER_03]: Or is this, no, this is the new level and this is how they are in the scheme and they just got the most out of them.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_03]: The coaching staff is really just maximized these players, whatever it may be, what are you going to call it?
- 20:28[SPEAKER_03]: I worry about regression on that end.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_03]: I think some of that's going to be countered by the fact that you got Baron, you got Green Law, you got Ufanga.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_03]: So those kind of talents being added probably counter some of that, but at the same time, like I said, you were hoping to stay at that top three level.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: Now you add these guys and take you to the next level, not regress in some ways, but then kind of bounce back this way, kind of thing.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_03]: So that's probably my biggest worry.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no doubt.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: It's a good one.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: And we got a clip here, um, pulled up from the handy Dan to get producers.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_04]: So appreciate him.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_04]: And this is certainly the actual face of the franchise.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_04]: Go next and really excited to see what these two can do as the faces of the franchise.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, this year and going forward.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, Bo, he's even more confident going in this year.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we year one under his belt.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, a lot more confidence rises on that.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the team, you know, we had both back through the whole way through, you know, I mean, he's a tremendous leader out there.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, a tremendous player.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I mean this year, he's going to make a lot of noise and, you know, we look forward to see what he does and his success moving forward.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_04]: hard not to love patch your tan on the mic you hear the beeping in the background going out of the construction of the facilities uh... getting improved and worked upon but love that bonyx is going to make a lot of noise this year kind of weird bonyx not making a lot of noise today not presented in front of the uh... the mic i obviously that's not by accident whether it is to protect uh... him from the shunpatin protecting him or shunpatin you know kind of also like listen you're great but
- 22:07[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you're still a young buck and you got a lot to learn here.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_04]: So it could be either way.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_04]: I'm curious what Sean, I think Sean's scheduled to be on the Mike tomorrow, but yeah, as Sortan says, he's expecting Bonix to make a lot of noise this season, which is high praise for the typically relatively soft spoken Patrick Sortan.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think every player on this team has a lot of confidence in Bo.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_03]: And I think he's gone about this the right way.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_03]: He hasn't come in there going on the guy, respect me now.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: He's earned that respect by the way that he works day in, day out.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_03]: Mike McGlinchie talked a lot about that, of just the daily grind that he's willing to go through, that he's willing to try to improve every week as we saw last year where we really saw
- 22:57[SPEAKER_03]: just kind of work hard throughout that was really bad games there to start season and he just kept going kept trying and eventually things started to click and form and that goes a long ways for those guys.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: When they see this is a guy that's very dedicated to his craft and wanting to be the best that he could be.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_03]: And we'll have to see what that, what that can be for Botnix.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know where his ceiling is at, which is a nice thing.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, a couple of comments there saw like Freeland had Botnix as the number eight quarterback.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_03]: That was for fantasy football, which makes sense.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's going to be good for fantasy football.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, I had one of my backup last year.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: on my team, and there's a couple of games that I put him out there, because I'm like, I think this is going to be a great matchup, and he's going to produce a lot of points.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: So I think it's just going to be interesting to see how defenses adjust to him, how Sean Peyton decides to try to use him a little bit more this year, and three, just the new weapons.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know, how does this really change things?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to ask you, and we'll get to this contract or this comment from Phil here in just a second.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_03]: But the Yterceiber II III and IV position is just very intriguing to me, because I get a guy like Troy Franklin.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_03]: I could see him as the number two.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: I could see him being cut.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's got the highest variance of any Yterceiber on this roster.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm not sure where he's going to end up.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_03]: We'll just have to see how much he worked in this offseason and is ready to come in and just really explode onto the scene or fade into the background because he doesn't help and special teams a whole lot.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: You know, Valey, can he take another step?
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: You got to be Bryant.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_03]: What's he going to be for this offense?
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: Mims.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_03]: Can he emerge more as a true wide receiver?
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: Or is he still going to be more of that gadget guy for you?
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's going to be one of the most intriguing positions in all of trading campus here.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's no doubt it is really interesting.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_04]: And I think I've said it on the morning shows a bit, but I am expecting Ingram to be your de facto wide receiver to in the end, just by all intends and purposes.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_04]: It sounds like he's playing as much slot as he is in line if not more so.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_04]: And it's going to depend obviously they're going to use them around a lot, but with the slot usage and how much patent likes to use.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_04]: twelve personnel that's maybe imitating eleven personnel.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_04]: I think anger is essentially going in up your wide receiver too, but you're definitely right.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_04]: It's there for the taking with the four four wide receivers that you mentioned out there as well.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_04]: Heck, maybe even a turf field has a chance.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_04]: I think that yeah, the turf field.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see that and it's definitely
- 25:39[SPEAKER_04]: the most interesting position group as far as questions entering training camp because like as much as like we have questions about running back and we're not going to find out as much about running backs but who have thank you Phil so much and one of my thinking about the contract we're going to talk about Benito a bit tomorrow morning with Eric as well because I know that he we might have some different opinions on this we'll see uh but right now I think the floor is twenty four a million here
- 26:04[SPEAKER_04]: I'm expecting him to get closer to that twenty eight, which is the contract market for Josh Heinz Allen and Brian Burns.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_04]: I think that is probably the market you're talking about for Benito right now.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: And probably offering twenty four his agents probably offering asking for thirty.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_04]: I think if it gets done, I think it's going to settle somewhere around twenty eight.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: That makes sense.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's fair for both sides.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to get the bump because those guys signed their contracts a couple years ago.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_03]: So even if he gets close to that, it's still in reality making less than them.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: Because when they signed it, the cap was at such a level and that was more of a percentage.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_03]: So I could definitely see him getting somewhere in that kind of area.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think Bonito is going to be asking for the world here.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think he understands that as great as last year was, they're looking at the full picture and understanding that he's not truly a top eight to ten Russia in this league.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think he's going to be fair in it, but I think the Broncos obviously recognized he is a talent.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to have to pay for talent.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you're right and hopefully I can get it done.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_04]: It does sound like credit to Zach Stevens for this.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's back from his vacation.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_04]: So reach out to him as I'll be moving out to Denver and just send hey, what's going on?
- 27:21[SPEAKER_04]: Where are the I know he's a hiker.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_04]: So hopefully he can give me the insights coupon some of these spots.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_04]: But
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: He mentioned that he wasn't so sure what it looked like as far as John Franklin Myers, Sutton, and Alan getting the contract done, but he was pretty confident.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_04]: Benito was going to be getting the contract done, which makes sense for a guy getting his second contract in just the work that he's done, getting to where he's at.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_04]: Not the other guys don't deserve a two, but third contract players.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_04]: It's third contract for Sutton, right?
- 27:49[SPEAKER_04]: It's not a fourth.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_04]: It gets a little bit more
- 27:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little bit riskier of an investment in the end.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see what happens here, but what's really valuable is when you're rookies hit on our big contributors.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_04]: And that's what we're going to talk about here.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_04]: Patrick Stan talking about first-round pick, Judd A. Baron.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: What areas have you seen today, Baron, who are the most already?
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he's very smart.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's savvy.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he understands the game pretty well.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: Coach has put him in
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: and around different positions.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that's harder to learn coming in as a rookie, especially with, you know, VJ's playbook, but it feels like he's handling it pretty well.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I've seen like he's up the schedule on things.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to see, you know, what he brings to the table to see.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_04]: love it and really excited for Baron this year.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_04]: Who knows what the ceiling is?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: You know, he's a little bit smaller guy doesn't have the arm length.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_04]: He did fall to twenty over all.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_04]: There's some questions about, you know, how much value if he is purely slot and be safety blah blah blah as your
- 28:56[SPEAKER_04]: player off like Robin to sort hands Batman in the secondary with his versatility as ball skills instincts and you hear sort of talking about him there.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_04]: Really excited for what Barry can look like this season.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Daniel, no Dan par for NFL.com had him ranked second in defensive rookie of the year odds.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: There's only been three defensive cornerback defensive rookie of the years in the last
- 29:22[SPEAKER_04]: I think he said century.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: It was like a long time.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_04]: It hadn't happened very often for corner box.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_04]: Same with defensive player the year, but very excited about Baron.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_04]: Again, it still feels like weird that he is the block.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what happened in April, but like it just leading up to it.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_04]: It didn't feel like, oh, but probably be okay with McMillan and Moss and everything, but man, adding to a strength and adding heck of a talent and trust from your board.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_04]: So excited as we take into the season, really happy he signed his contract, literally.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_04]: was the night, like as soon as we go off the show we were talking about it, or yeah, I guess I don't know if you're here last Tuesday or recently, we ended up to show on Tuesday and I'm like, just a little bit later, barren signs of contract.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: So the broadcast was supposed to get their news done Tuesday morning so we can talk about it.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: I need to get in Patrick's smithes here on that one, but no, yeah, excited to hear what's your chance as about barren there.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think if there's anything that you would love to hear about a young rookie coming in, especially early on, it's their intelligence.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we know most every player that's come into the NFL, they're athletic, they're gifted that way.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_03]: There's not much question there.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_03]: That helped them to get where they are here in the NFL, but they actually hear about their intelligence.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_03]: That's the bigger part.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I always kind of remember when people would ask different players, hey, how's Paxton Lynch?
- 30:40[SPEAKER_03]: He's got a big arm.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: He's big.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_03]: He's strong.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's not what you wanna hear about your quarterback.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's okay, but we already know that.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody has to guess whether he's big strong and can throw it.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_03]: How's he picking up the offense?
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: How's he in the film room?
- 31:00[SPEAKER_03]: Is he picking things up?
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: Does he understand how deepens his work?
- 31:03[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I'd rather hear.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_03]: And so to hear this about Baron of Pay, they're trying them at a lot of different things.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I know Sean Payton talked about it.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of like drinking out of the fire hydrant.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_03]: And you're throwing a lot at him and you're trying to see where's the breaking point form.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_03]: And the fact that he's trying to learn multiple positions right now.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_03]: with a rookie.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_03]: I don't usually like that, but I kind of like it for him, just to really test him, push him as that first round pick.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_03]: And I do hope that they can move him around.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not as much early on just because, again, I don't want to have too much on his plate and then with the way that this defense runs, one mistake can be a really, really big play.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_03]: You know, if you're playing a lot of cover four, cover six, you've got a lot of safety over the top.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: So if your guy messes up underneath it, it's not as big a deal.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_03]: But I think he's one of those few players that can really handle it.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_03]: I like that he's a little bit older rookie.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_03]: I know sucks for second contract if that's we're going to get to and he's already turned in what.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_03]: Twenty seven twenty eight somewhere in there.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: And then you're going to be paying a corner back that kind of money when that's when you start seeing some of the decline.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_03]: But for now, I think he is one of those few rookies that you can trust a lot with.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_03]: And he can go out there and produce for you.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_03]: So like I said, we've got this the strength that's now turned into a better strength.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm excited to see some of those big turnovers that I think he can really bring to the defense.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no doubt.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_04]: And that's one thing that can take this defense to the next level would be
- 32:38[SPEAKER_04]: leading the league in turn over is more defensive points and really get the ball rolling there and put pressure on team because as we saw we have a defense doing that a can snowball inner hurry and other teams and then you can dictate and lean in the offensive line the run game ball control
- 32:51[SPEAKER_04]: That's what old ball coaches, Bill Porceles, Disciple, Sean Payton, we'd probably love to see this season.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_04]: We also did have some shout-outs of Trotan, congrats to him.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_04]: Again, coming off the defensive player the year and seems as humble as ever.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad we didn't hear at least that from what I heard.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_04]: No conversations about the other cornerbacks getting paid more.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_04]: around him.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure, obviously, he's aware.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_04]: Lord knows what that looks like.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_04]: The broadcast got a lot to take care of before we get to that point, maybe, you know, a year from now, we can be talking about that, but hopefully, hopefully, we're okay this season, but we also had Mike Muguchi take the podium today, which sometimes has been
- 33:32[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little shocking, I guess, with Bonax here and how well he played last season and how much Sean Peyton loves to hype up Bonax.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_04]: But Maglintree has been one of the front of the line guys ever since Sean Peyton came here and Maglintree was signed.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_04]: They've absolutely adored putting him out there.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_04]: very intelligent, well-spoken, and just seems like an interesting man.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_04]: I really enjoyed the aspects.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_04]: He kind of talked a little bit about the mental health and the pressure of playing in the NFL and not having to be what other people talk about him to live up to their expectations.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_04]: He just needs to talk with his coaches.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_04]: He has to say in tacos, careful.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_04]: He's used to get booted if you start spamming, but we do love tacos.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_04]: It is Taco Tuesday for sure.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to Michael Ginchino, just kind of opening up a little bit there and showing the people here.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_04]: These are real people and some of the stuff.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_04]: They're not immune to the criticisms and the talking heads, but learned a little bit grown from that and it does seem like he's in a good place right now.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: I love listening to him talk.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and it was kind of funny.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_03]: One of the media people were talking about the offensive line and the success they had last year.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_03]: And somebody said, was that your best year?
- 34:45[SPEAKER_03]: And he like started getting a little bit red in the face like, I don't want to say it, but yeah, it was pretty good year for me.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: And I also loved though that then he talked about, but we can be better.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like the run game, talked about the running backs coming in, talked about their work up front that they've really got to get back going this year.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_03]: And I really think, you know, Bo Nix, I have big expectations for him, but if this offense, especially is going to take that next step, I think it's going to have to be through the run game.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad they got out of an in-room.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad that they have these young receivers that could maybe be something for you.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: But RJ Harvey JK Dobbins, that's where the big, drastic change from last year's gonna have to be.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_03]: If they can be a top twelve rushing team on top of what they were able to do in the past and game last year, we could be looking at a top ten offense.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_03]: and feeling very good about them, complimenting what the defense can do.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: And being a team that teams fear and say, crap, we have played the Broncos this week.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: I saw somebody earlier talking about how the Broncos ranked as the number six offense.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: I know Mr. Nick Wright was really ticked off about that.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_03]: Zayne, there's no way that the Broncos are better than the forty-nineers and the Rams.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: And I can't remember some of the other teams that he was listing.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_03]: And he might be right.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe people are jumping too quickly now to the Broncos after making the playoffs.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_03]: But still, you like what you see on this team that there are some
- 36:19[SPEAKER_03]: some real high potential for this this offense to be something and not be the the anchor that continues to hold this team back like we've seen for so many years now and like I said that run game going to be a huge part of it offensive line they take they take a very personal the run game being a strong unit and I think that was one area that they were very disappointed in for sure last year
- 36:41[SPEAKER_04]: And McGlench, you kind of talked about a little bit too, you know, having everybody back on the offensive line and adding a few sprinkling and a few rookies here and there as well.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty rare.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's one reason that
- 36:52[SPEAKER_04]: I've been vocal about like, you know, long-term perspective.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_04]: This isn't a make-up break season, but like for this iteration of the Broncos, this cycle, this is a make-up break season because there's going to be a lot of familiar faces gone after this year and new faces in.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_04]: That's just, that's the way the league works, right, to turn its constant.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_04]: But right now, the Broncos are pretty much for all, I mean, the Williams, new puncher.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_04]: That might be, hopefully that's not the real, well, card this season, the puncher, because partners don't win any games, but they can certainly lose you a game.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_04]: I digress, we can save that for when we start to see what the punching game and the coverage units look like.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, no doubt the offense should be good this season.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_04]: They just have such a high floor.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_04]: When you have Bonax who's protecting football, not turning the ball over, the offensive line that they have.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, Sean Payton, the floor is very high.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to say this is going to be a top five offense.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_04]: So that would be shocking to me this season.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, I think anything below,
- 37:59[SPEAKER_04]: would be disappointing because again, that offensive line comes every week.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_04]: Sean Peyton comes every week.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_04]: You might be like, there's games.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_04]: I do worry, like, can the Broncos win and shoot out against these elite teams?
- 38:13[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to find out, right?
- 38:15[SPEAKER_04]: Like, there's going to be games where the defense doesn't show up, and it's going to be the offense having to go drive for drive in the, in the drop back pass game as well.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_04]: Didn't see that last season.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_04]: That's okay.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, we will see.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_04]: But man, the floor is exceptionally high, and that can help the young rookie.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_04]: It means there's not too much pressure on a lot of these young past catchers as well right now, and it complements the defense.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_04]: So, it's a good spot.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_04]: I will see what the ceiling is, very confident in the floor.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_03]: I'm with you there.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_03]: Like I said, anytime you've got a strong offensive line, we know what they are.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_03]: There's not going to be this giant drop-off unless there's injuries, not gunwood.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, there we go.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_03]: And so we should expect the same is what we saw last year for the most part.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe some improvement just because they have been together.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_03]: They've got that chemistry that most other teams don't have right now.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_03]: And I think, especially early in the season, that could be a huge advantage when they've got that kind of chemistry where they know what to expect from each other.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_03]: And also, like I said, play collar, I think I saw something that said head coach and quarterback.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_03]: This is the first time the Broncos have had the same two going into a second season since it's a two thousand four team.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, that just seems crazy that it's been that long since we've had both those return for a second season.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_03]: When you think about what they tried to do at those positions, you know, draft picks, free agents, coach after coach and nothing's worked.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_03]: So to finally have that settled, just makes such a big difference, especially early in the year.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_03]: So I do like I said, we kind of know the floor.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_03]: We just got to see if RJ Harvey, JK, Dobbins, if they can really emerge as a dynamic duo in the run game, and in the past game too.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's not trying to take away from that, because Sean Peyton loves running backs in the past game.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_03]: You were talking about at the ringroom being really the number two wide receiver.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe number two in targets could be Harvey.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_04]: It means Williams last year, but also you have to running backs right now, and they trusted Williams in pass protection.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_04]: I think this chance that, I mean, it could end up be Dobbins, right?
- 40:28[SPEAKER_04]: Like, right?
- 40:28[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't bet on that one as much compared to Ingram.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_04]: But granted Ingram as a history, I don't know.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_04]: We'll find out.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_03]: So they're going to get plenty of targets too.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's not just on the wide receivers for this offense to be able to have a passing attack by any means.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the nice thing about the Sean Payton system is he will attack you from all positions.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_03]: He will make sure to have players that can win in the past game from tight and from running back, from wide receiver, from the slot, from the outside.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_03]: That's when his offense is functioning at its best, when he can really throw lots and lots of things at you and not know where you're going to be hit from.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_03]: This receiver could go for a hundred yards receiving.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_03]: This running back and go for a hundred yards receiving.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_03]: And it's just that that's when it gets fun to see.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_03]: And last year, they just didn't have the pieces to do that.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_03]: And also, I mean, Bonix,
- 41:21[SPEAKER_03]: as much as I love to season.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there are some limitations.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: They scheme things up to make it easier on him, which
- 41:28[SPEAKER_03]: Good for something.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sure.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like if you're not doing that as a coach, that is stupid.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_03]: You know, even for a veteran, I mean, Patrick Mahomes gets things teamed up easy for him from Andy Reed.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_03]: That's that.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_03]: I had a disagree most somebody on Twitter about this earlier and they're like, well, they teamed up too much for him.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I know he's not going to be able to make it in the NFL.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, every coach does that or the good ones do.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_03]: You don't just say, hey, we're going to drop you back and we're going to run
- 41:59[SPEAKER_03]: Four of words and you've got to figure it out.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: Good luck.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they don't do that.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_04]: So stupid.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_04]: If Bonax was like five, six years into his career and he'd been great over multiple iterations, people would look past it.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_04]: But because the questions about NBA and the six quarterback drafted, you know, that's why Patrick Mahomes gets a pass.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_04]: And rightfully so, in my opinion, rightfully so, but also you shouldn't dunk on Bonax for unanswered questions.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_04]: too much, right?
- 42:27[SPEAKER_04]: Like, they're unanswered because he wasn't in the situations where he had to be in these constant dropbacks and he wasn't in a favorable environment.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_04]: The card deck is going to shuffle multiple times when you have the stable constant variable and they're continuously great.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_04]: That's when that quarterback is good.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_04]: So there can still be questions about the next room for both.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's it's in the middle of course, but dunking on him constantly.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_04]: I don't, it's not an indictment.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_04]: It's just a, we haven't seen it yet, which is fine.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_04]: That's a good thing for the, it's the thing.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_04]: Not again, it's not bone X being Tom Brady, but like how often in Tom Brady's career, oh, you know, game manager, check down Merchant.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_04]: He just rely on the offensive line on the defense.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_04]: You're trying to protect your quarterback to not put them in the situations where they have to be a hero of twenty for seven.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_04]: You want to be able to break the glass in case of emergency and do that, but it cannot be your game plan.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_04]: every single week, or you're going to lose football games and they're going to lose confidence, they're going to get hit, they're going to turn the ball over.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_04]: So, again, long enough to capitalize big games where you have to go back and forth and drives, we will get those answers.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad we have those questions right now, though.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_03]: And the fact that his rookie season, even though we don't have all the answers, he was able to do what he did.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the people realized he had the fourth most passing touchdowns in Broncos history for a season.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_03]: The only player to have more is Peyton Manning, first, second, third on that list, for his years here in Denver for, in the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year
- 44:17[SPEAKER_03]: The fact that he was able to go out and do the things he was is just pretty darn impressed.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_03]: And he didn't have great weapons to be thrown to either.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_03]: It courtland sudden and not much else.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Marvin Mims is a nice gadget player.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to take away from that.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_03]: But the, you know, this year, the weapons that he has, you, you hope for a lot more just from them that, and I had somebody that tried to bring that up also, I've just,
- 44:44[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you know, he's checking down to these players and letting the players go make the play.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_03]: Aren't you supposed to do that as a quarterback?
- 44:54[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_03]: It's just some of the stuff I've got.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know where I know you're trying to discredit Bonesix.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_03]: And so you're trying to take all the credit away from his season and give it to everybody else.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_03]: But he did what you expect a quarterback to do.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_03]: He protected the football.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_03]: He got the ball into the playmaker's hands.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_03]: They wouldn't make the play.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's great.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_03]: But they want a lot of games with having this like ninety million dollar anchor holding them back with dead money.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_03]: And now they've gotten away from that.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_03]: They've added to the roster.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: this idea that there's gonna be this giant drop off from him this year.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_03]: I think is there might be some areas that maybe there is a little bit of a sophomore slump.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to say that it's yourselves and I'm gonna be all uphill for sure with him.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_03]: But I just don't see also this huge tank of a season where you're going, oh crap, yep, all these negative people were completely right about him.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's frustrating, but it's also understandable.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_04]: Small sample.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_04]: preconceived notions on him.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_04]: So just have to repeat it.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_04]: Do it again.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_04]: And I want to see him do it again too.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_04]: Troy Boer coming in as we start to wrap up here.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_04]: Ninety ninety nine.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much, Troy.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_04]: Orange.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_04]: I love blue.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_04]: I love green.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_04]: Orange is my favorite color.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_04]: There's a Carl, you know how much I love hiking backpacking.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_04]: I want to get more and amount nearing.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_04]: God, I would kill for an orange.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_04]: Architects beta AR, which is like an all-proof jacket, but they go for like
- 46:27[SPEAKER_04]: six hundred dollars but it's like the kind of orange what you want on the mountains you know in case you know there's my corpse down there it's the orange one but but uh it's a choice has finally made a night show briefly our barely uh readings essential thank you Troy well barely counts uh it's you're still here glad football is back kind of more excited this year than a long time feels good let's get a few more players resigned good job using resigned with the other hyphen in there nobody resigned
- 46:52[SPEAKER_04]: but we got re-signed and please know major injuries again.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks guys.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_04]: I've talked about it on all the shows.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_04]: This is excited and optimistic.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_04]: I've been about a season since going into the twenty fourteen season and also I will add no major injuries also.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_04]: No arrests.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_04]: Let's say everybody know.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_04]: Call an Uber if you are drinking.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_04]: Stay out of trouble and let's do that as true.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_04]: So no injuries.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_04]: Stay out of trouble.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_03]: Thankfully, the Broncos have done a good job these last few years of keeping their names out of the news during the off season.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_03]: And most of it's all been just good stuff vacation pictures, training those kind of things and it makes it
- 47:37[SPEAKER_03]: need to say this.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_03]: It makes kind of a boring offseason from June and part of July because there's just not much news.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_03]: But at the same time, it's good news because like I said, nobody's getting in trouble.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_03]: And now these guys are back and it's just going to be a whirlwind of a time.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_03]: And so I'm excited.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_03]: We've got news coming back for the Broncos real football news from the field.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_03]: And now we get to actually see what this team's going to be.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_03]: And like I said, there's a lot of reason to be optimistic and excited to see what these Broncos can do this year.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's the sky's the limit.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that they really could be competing for a super bowl this year.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_03]: If everything goes in the right direction, it could also be where they're fighting for a playoff spot.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_03]: having a tough time, because they have C is a tough division, or comforts I should say, sorry, not division.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: AFC, what's the tough division, too?
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: So all those games, it's gonna be, it's gonna be a tough year, but at the same time, glad that we've got a team that can actually compete.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, top five quarterbacks in the NFL, all reside in the AFC.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_04]: Who is the best quarterback in the NFC, Carl?
- 48:50[SPEAKER_03]: The great question, Matthew Stafford.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_04]: That's who I would go with, too.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it hurts is great.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_04]: Jaden Daniels is very intriguing.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_04]: No doubt.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_04]: Probably go a staffer.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_04]: man, he's he's somebody he can get a bucket anytime he needed.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_04]: So Michael says great show tonight.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_04]: Appreciate you, Indiana, Henry.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_04]: Woo, woo, fifty dollars.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_04]: Man, uh, Carl will lift up his sleeve and show you his armhole for fifty dollars.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_04]: So we got to be careful there Carl.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you might want to put that might want to retire that one.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_04]: At least it's not the yellow stain there.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_04]: What he says.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm stoked for the season.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_04]: I'm stoked that you're here, Dan.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_04]: This is incredible.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_04]: I'm stoked as well, obviously.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_04]: says I believe in bonus I also hope a needle gets paid positive vibes this year can't wait for the meeting greet go broke as well.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much to you.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I will have just recently have moved to Denver for the meet ingredients.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if I'll have tickets to the game, but no excuse there, right?
- 49:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'll be living there unless God forbid, you know, I have a eighteen month old something or anything sick or whatever, then things can happen, but you know,
- 49:51[SPEAKER_04]: I plan to be in there and Carl, you're there this year too.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_04]: You're not going to skip out on us.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's not your third cousin's bar mitzvah or your friends, neighbors down the streets, uncle's wedding or something going on.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_03]: So far, that is the plan.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_03]: My kids were asking me, hey, what's Sunday are you going to get dead?
- 50:09[SPEAKER_03]: So I was telling him, I think it's like October, nineteen, eighteen, some of them like that.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_04]: I want to say twelve, but we should probably not.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_03]: So Giants game.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I should probably get in on that.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_03]: But no, I was showing him, hey, this is the game I'm going to and and they're like, you're taking us, right?
- 50:26[SPEAKER_03]: Like, maybe not to the meat and greed.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_04]: It is nineteenth Carl, I shouldn't have, I shouldn't have doubted you.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_04]: That's right, know my dates.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_03]: But no, I, I, I, I told maybe, maybe it'll be a year where they can at least come to the meat and greed part.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not the party the night before.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_03]: That that might be more for the fun of the adults.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_04]: to kill all righty well that's going to wrap it up guys the end of bringing the part the end about the party sorry and be the test for it but uh... fifty dollar super with also try coming to twenty dollars we appreciate the super checkers david of course pop a bear also michael ronkeo we got cremello the crunch coming in full a few times as well
