- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's one of those mornings I just
- 0:57Speaker 1: can't wait to get on. Dear it feels like Friday.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And listen, if I slip up and say, at any
- 1:07Speaker 1: point today, thank God it's Friday. Just bear with me, okay,
- 1:11Speaker 1: because that's how I'm feeling. I know it's Thursday. We
- 1:15Speaker 1: got racing tonight at thunder Road. We're gonna run down
- 1:19Speaker 1: the community calendar here in just a little bit, or
- 1:23Speaker 1: at least I'm gonna try. It is just amed. What
- 1:30Speaker 1: day is it again? Thursday? It is the fourth. So
- 1:35Speaker 1: much happening, stuff going on in Vermont, stuff going on
- 1:40Speaker 1: in the country. It's a National Cheese Day today. What's
- 1:46Speaker 1: your favorite cheese? Cheddar, spicy Hubnio cabin. So many of
- 1:58Speaker 1: us are obsessed with cheese. And you don't have to
- 2:05Speaker 1: just live in Vermont or Wyoming. You can live anywhere
- 2:10Speaker 1: and just love cheese, cheese, whiz, whatever you define as cheese.
- 2:18Speaker 1: M hm. I'm just having a glance here at this
- 2:25Speaker 1: community calendar. I don't know how we're going to get
- 2:27Speaker 1: it all in. It's just so much happening, so much
- 2:31Speaker 1: going on this morning. I could not possibly think of
- 2:38Speaker 1: a better way to begin my day than how I
- 2:43Speaker 1: did just a short time ago, just briefly following the
- 2:51Speaker 1: runners carrying the flame, the Flame of Hope for the
- 2:57Speaker 1: Special Olympics. Drew Berry. I love these athletes. They bring
- 3:07Speaker 1: me so much hope in our world where so much
- 3:15Speaker 1: of it is lacked. They are such positive, inspiring individuals.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm so proud of these athletes. I've had a couple
- 3:30Speaker 1: of them on the air. Shay was so great to
- 3:35Speaker 1: see him this morning. He's the guy in the green shirt.
- 3:37Speaker 1: He's going to be competing this weekend. It's just gonna
- 3:41Speaker 1: be amazing. Saint Mike's That's where the torch is going
- 3:47Speaker 1: to stop on Saturday, and they're going to be lighting
- 3:53Speaker 1: the cauldron there at the Special Olympics for opening ceremonies
- 3:59Speaker 1: on Saturday. This coming Saturday. There's literally like five places
- 4:06Speaker 1: that I'm supposed to be all at the same time,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and I want to be at each of them. I
- 4:13Speaker 1: just don't know how it's this. This first weekend of
- 4:19Speaker 1: June is going to be just nuts. I don't know
- 4:23Speaker 1: where I'm going to be right now. I know where
- 4:25Speaker 1: I'm going to be today, and i know where I'm
- 4:28Speaker 1: going to be tomorrow. But I'm pushing out like forty
- 4:31Speaker 1: eight hours of where I know, I know I'm going
- 4:34Speaker 1: to be, you know, oh, in just a little bit,
- 4:43Speaker 1: Upper Valley Cars and Coffee, And I don't know if
- 4:48Speaker 1: you have seen their Facebook page. I don't know if
- 4:53Speaker 1: you've seen what they're cooking. Upper Valley Cars in Coffee
- 5:02Speaker 1: is going to be massive. There are, no doubt a
- 5:10Speaker 1: lot of car shows going on, and I can list
- 5:13Speaker 1: off probably five off the top of my head all summer.
- 5:18Speaker 1: We got the big one in August in Waterbury. That
- 5:24Speaker 1: one's been going on for like, I don't know, sixty
- 5:26Speaker 1: plus years. We got another one that's coming up on
- 5:32Speaker 1: Father's Day, Father's Day weekend, I should say, Friday, June nineteenth,
- 5:37Speaker 1: over at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield from eleven to two.
- 5:42Speaker 1: They're gonna be firing up the barbie and there's gonna
- 5:48Speaker 1: be plenty of hot rods and antiques and classics, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: it's just gonna be a great time. And what I
- 5:55Speaker 1: love so much about that is that they're bringing some
- 6:02Speaker 1: of the older folks that have been cooped up all winter,
- 6:08Speaker 1: bringing them out to see these cars, and something happens
- 6:16Speaker 1: to them when they see cars like this they go knots.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They tap into their past and whether it's Model a's,
- 6:27Speaker 1: Model t's whatever. I you'll often hear I had the
- 6:32Speaker 1: same car when I was in high school and I
- 6:36Speaker 1: wrecked it or whatever that was when I had my
- 6:41Speaker 1: first experience whatever. I love the seventies. I love the
- 6:46Speaker 1: muscle cars. We're gonna be uh chatting with Chris Hatch
- 6:51Speaker 1: in just a little bit. What do we have? God?
- 6:59Speaker 1: What do we have going on Saturday? I see we
- 7:05Speaker 1: have a new business that's coming in town, Weathered Barn
- 7:08Speaker 1: and Company, and they're going to be having their ribbon
- 7:11Speaker 1: cutting this weekend over at Bobby Bartlett's old building, State
- 7:19Speaker 1: Farm Grand Opening weekend Saturday ten to five, Sunday ten
- 7:24Speaker 1: to two. I would love to be there for that.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm hoping to be. I'm planning to be again. Special Olympics.
- 7:35Speaker 1: We got White Mountain Motorsports Park. Tonight, we have Super Thursday,
- 7:42Speaker 1: the New England Super Modified Series Special over at thunder Road. Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Do you have do you have a calendar that's just
- 7:55Speaker 1: like as packed as mine? A lot of feel good
- 8:00Speaker 1: stuff tonight. We've been talking about this for quite a
- 8:04Speaker 1: while here on aired out the Upper Valley Adult Daycare
- 8:09Speaker 1: has their Enchanted Garden fourth annual Senior prom at the
- 8:15Speaker 1: Kuechi In Hopefully you got tickets for that and you're going.
- 8:20Speaker 1: But that is just so cool. The other thing, I
- 8:23Speaker 1: can't believe it's already the fourth of June. Berry City
- 8:28Speaker 1: Middle School Spring Concert Tonight at six thirty Tomorrow the
- 8:36Speaker 1: thirtieth annual Hospice Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Central Vermount
- 8:42Speaker 1: Home Health and Hospice. I'll be there. I'm one of
- 8:45Speaker 1: the sponsors, and I can't wait, can't wait. Do I
- 8:50Speaker 1: know anything about golf? No, do I care? Nope, I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: just going to be there with friends and I got
- 9:02Speaker 1: some players on aired out which maybe I'll get a
- 9:07Speaker 1: chance to interview tomorrow. I know they're going to be
- 9:09Speaker 1: busy and they get the whole you know, registration and
- 9:13Speaker 1: everything underway at I think nine o'clock and then shotguns
- 9:17Speaker 1: start at ten. Big lunch served up at around eleven thirty.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Thanks for being a sponsor. By the way, if you're
- 9:26Speaker 1: one of the many businesses that decided to be a
- 9:31Speaker 1: sponsor of this thirtieth annual Memorial Golf tournament, big big deal,
- 9:39Speaker 1: all supporting Central Vermont home health in hospice, and we're
- 9:42Speaker 1: talking about almost eleven thousand home visits to around three
- 9:49Speaker 1: hundred and sixty five patients just in the past year
- 9:54Speaker 1: from Central Vermont home Health and Hospice alone. Two two
- 9:59Speaker 1: hundred social workers helping out, twenty five incredible volunteers contributing
- 10:10Speaker 1: over eleven hundred hours of time just in the past year,
- 10:16Speaker 1: delivering meals, driving folks to medical appointments. The list goes on.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Just big props to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It's going to be an amazing day tomorrow. I can't
- 10:31Speaker 1: wait on That's tomorrow on Friday, and that's where I'll
- 10:38Speaker 1: be tomorrow morning at nine o'clock, out of the studio
- 10:43Speaker 1: and aired out and about. It's going to be fun. Saturday,
- 10:47Speaker 1: the Stephen Tracy Memorial Ride and Poker Run at the
- 10:50Speaker 1: Den ten o'clock registration eleven am ride, ten bucks per driver,
- 10:56Speaker 1: proceeds benefiting a Williamstown student going into the work. And
- 11:01Speaker 1: then on Sunday, the seventh, are you are you keeping
- 11:05Speaker 1: up with me? I hope So Sunday this coming, the
- 11:11Speaker 1: Berlin Mall has their Food Truck Festival from twelve to seven.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I know no rest for the weary. If you'd like
- 11:22Speaker 1: to be a vendor, it's not too late. All you
- 11:25Speaker 1: have to do is call Annie two seven to two
- 11:28Speaker 1: ten sixty six. I'll put her email here in the
- 11:32Speaker 1: comments as well. It's a long email. But if you'd
- 11:36Speaker 1: like to be a vendor man, you should be tell
- 11:39Speaker 1: her that that we sent you and get over there.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It's not just tacos. I mean, there's just in pizza
- 11:48Speaker 1: and loaded tots. There's gonna be tons of stuff to
- 11:52Speaker 1: choose from. I think she said she had a Filipino
- 11:57Speaker 1: food too. But the food truck Festival at the Berlin
- 12:01Speaker 1: Mall Sunday noon to seventh, also on Sunday. This is
- 12:11Speaker 1: overwhelming to me, but in a good way. The Vermont
- 12:14Speaker 1: Mountaineers kicking off their twenty fourth season at Recreation Field
- 12:21Speaker 1: in Montpilier. Hopefully the weather's going to be good for that.
- 12:26Speaker 1: My goodness, gracious. I know just looking ahead here on
- 12:36Speaker 1: the nineteenth, which is a Friday, is Toy Story five,
- 12:46Speaker 1: And I know that there's a lot of fans out there.
- 12:50Speaker 1: There's almost a cult following for Toy Story. Andy's got
- 12:57Speaker 1: all of the lines memorized. Toy Story five is gonna
- 13:02Speaker 1: be one of the summer blockbusters. And I'm gonna be
- 13:07Speaker 1: at one of the theaters, either the Paramount twin here
- 13:11Speaker 1: in Barry or the Capitol Show Place five in Montpelier.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And we're gonna be having fun, all right. We're gonna
- 13:19Speaker 1: be playing music, We're gonna be giving you a chance
- 13:21Speaker 1: to win some stuff. It's gonna be a good time.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Toy Story five premiering on the nineteenth. Wow, do you
- 13:33Speaker 1: also want me to tell you that on the nineteenth
- 13:34Speaker 1: is the Quechi Balloon Festival and on the twentieth is
- 13:39Speaker 1: Lacing Up for Cancer. Erica Scott was just on talking
- 13:44Speaker 1: about this. They've been doing this for over two decades.
- 13:47Speaker 1: But People's Academy is where it is the annual Lacing
- 13:51Speaker 1: Up for Cancer Walk and fundraiser June twentieth. I will
- 13:55Speaker 1: do all I can to keep you up to speed
- 14:00Speaker 1: on what's happening with regard to our community events. Just amazing,
- 14:10Speaker 1: big shout out this morning to Fecto Holmes. I don't
- 14:13Speaker 1: know if you've had a chance to see what's happening
- 14:16Speaker 1: over at Beckley Hill Meadows started a couple of years
- 14:20Speaker 1: ago and with like forty five lots and now it
- 14:24Speaker 1: is just amazing. Had to drive through there not too
- 14:28Speaker 1: long ago. The homes, the duplexes, everything up there is amazing.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Big shout out to Fecto Homes. Stop Eye three point
- 14:40Speaker 1: fifty River Street, Montpellier, drop your name of the box too,
- 14:43Speaker 1: because they're giving you a chance to win one hundred
- 14:46Speaker 1: dollars gift certificates to different restaurants. They've been doing this
- 14:50Speaker 1: for a couple of weeks now what six seven, eight weeks?
- 14:55Speaker 1: Browse their inventory online fecto homes dot com. Remember to
- 14:58Speaker 1: check them out on Facebook. To Chris Hatch, what's going on? Brother?
- 15:02Speaker 1: How are you?
- 15:04Speaker 2: Jd Sarah?
- 15:05Speaker 1: How are you?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Thank you for having me on this morning?
- 15:07Speaker 1: Dude, I'm so glad to connect with you. I haven't
- 15:09Speaker 1: even met you yet. Bro.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I know life is crazy, isn't it.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Tell me about the the inception of the Upper Valley
- 15:23Speaker 1: cars and coffee. This started out as well. First of all,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you're automobile Lethusius, but you and your kid were like,
- 15:32Speaker 1: we got to do something big here, right.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:36Speaker 3: So I have two boys, nine and sixteen. Obviously the
- 15:40Speaker 3: oldest is driving. He used to race go carts and
- 15:43Speaker 3: some car stuff for quite a while from the time
- 15:46Speaker 3: he was five. I myself also grew up around race
- 15:50Speaker 3: cars and that kind of stuff, as my uncle and
- 15:52Speaker 3: my grandfather had race cars, so it's always been in
- 15:55Speaker 3: the family. And the oldest basically said one day, hey,
- 15:59Speaker 3: it would be nice if there was something more in
- 16:01Speaker 3: the Upper Valley that would get everybody together. So I
- 16:04Speaker 3: kind of started this thing as just thinking maybe it
- 16:06Speaker 3: would be something.
- 16:07Speaker 2: For him and his friends, you know what I mean.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And what happened.
- 16:14Speaker 3: So I made a social media post on an Upper
- 16:17Speaker 3: Valley Facebook group, just seeing what the interest would be like,
- 16:22Speaker 3: and I woke up the next morning and there was
- 16:24Speaker 3: over seventy five messages in my inbox on Facebook.
- 16:29Speaker 2: And that's basically how it started.
- 16:33Speaker 1: So logistically you had to go from zero to sixty
- 16:37Speaker 1: here and start making a lot of phone calls and
- 16:40Speaker 1: emails I'm guessing, and a lot of text messages to
- 16:44Speaker 1: try to put everything together. It's a big job, man.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a full time job as it is.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I'm a manager at a car dealership locally, so that
- 16:54Speaker 3: right there takes up a lot of time. But I
- 16:55Speaker 3: would say I probably spend twenty plus hours a week
- 17:00Speaker 3: get in the cars and coffee.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Stuff set up.
- 17:03Speaker 1: It has exploded, at least in my opinion, on social media.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Upper Valley Cars and Coffee. You've got an incredible amount
- 17:13Speaker 1: of excitement going and hype on this, So many people
- 17:16Speaker 1: are excited for the launch of this, which we've got
- 17:19Speaker 1: a few weeks now. July twelfth is going to be
- 17:22Speaker 1: the first one, right yep.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Joly twelfth is going to be the first event at
- 17:26Speaker 3: the Powerhouse Mall eight am to eleven. Obviously, if people
- 17:31Speaker 3: want to show up a little bit earlier will be there.
- 17:34Speaker 3: We are going to have a coffee truck there selling
- 17:36Speaker 3: coffee and gelano and that kind of stuff. So that'll
- 17:40Speaker 3: be fun and I'm interested to see how many people.
- 17:43Speaker 2: How many people come out for it.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Entry is absolutely free, but we say to anyone who
- 17:50Speaker 1: wants to be part of this, if you can throw
- 17:53Speaker 1: a buck or five in the pot, you'll have venmo
- 17:56Speaker 1: set up as well. And we say this to the
- 17:58Speaker 1: spectators too, to supper Wort this so so that we
- 18:02Speaker 1: can make it bigger for next year.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so no charge obviously for entry. Donations are welcome
- 18:10Speaker 3: throughout the year. A portion of the proceeds are gonna
- 18:12Speaker 3: go to the Hartford area Career and Technology Center. They
- 18:16Speaker 3: have an autobody and welding program that we're gonna if
- 18:19Speaker 3: you're gonna donate some money too, if we can, uh,
- 18:22Speaker 3: that would be ideal there in need of a new compressor.
- 18:25Speaker 3: My son's actually in the program up there. Great program.
- 18:28Speaker 3: They learn how to well do custom fabrication, all that
- 18:31Speaker 3: kind of stuff.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So this is uh, bringing community together for something like
- 18:36Speaker 1: this is so exciting. Who doesn't turn their head when
- 18:42Speaker 1: they see a slick look and ride.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:48Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's one of those things you see
- 18:49Speaker 3: a car coming down the road and you instantly look.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Whether you're a car enthusiast or not, you look at it,
- 18:54Speaker 3: you know what I mean. That's the That's the thing
- 18:56Speaker 3: about summery. You see all the nice cars and people
- 18:58Speaker 3: bring out their projects from the winter, and it'll be
- 19:01Speaker 3: nice to see everybody together.
- 19:03Speaker 2: The big thing for us was trying to get something.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Where all generations can be there at the same time,
- 19:09Speaker 3: all ages.
- 19:09Speaker 2: So we've been to a bunch of car stuff.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah, most car events you see you see you know,
- 19:14Speaker 3: one generation or the other.
- 19:16Speaker 2: You don't see the younger generation mixed in with the
- 19:18Speaker 2: older generation. That's not what we want. We want everybody together.
- 19:21Speaker 2: That's that's where it's the most fun.
- 19:24Speaker 1: So some of these more modern modified cars, Man, they
- 19:29Speaker 1: put a lot of money into this stuff.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean some of these I know, like some
- 19:36Speaker 3: of these hot Rods, these older Camaros and stuff.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Some of these people have one hundred thousand dollars into
- 19:41Speaker 2: these cars. You know what I mean. It's uh, it is,
- 19:43Speaker 2: it is not It's not cheap.
- 19:48Speaker 1: No, what's so what's your your story? Uh? You did
- 19:52Speaker 1: you have a classic?
- 19:55Speaker 2: So that's a kind of a loaded question.
- 19:58Speaker 3: So over my life, obviously working at a car dealership,
- 20:01Speaker 3: I've had a ton of cars.
- 20:03Speaker 2: My first couple of cars were Honda Civics.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I had a couple Honda Civics with three hundred plus
- 20:08Speaker 3: horse power. I've had a diesel pickup truck with seven
- 20:13Speaker 3: eight hundred horse power. I've had a Supercharge Tundra with
- 20:17Speaker 3: eight hundred horse powers.
- 20:18Speaker 2: So I've had a number of vehicles in my time.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And now that I have a sixteen year old who's driving,
- 20:25Speaker 3: he has taken the torch from me at this point.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I guess what was your favorite?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Oh that's a tough one.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Favorite was probably my Supercharge Tundra only because I work
- 20:39Speaker 3: in a toilet dealership and if I didn't say the Tundra,
- 20:42Speaker 3: everybody that I work would be mad at me.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, I'll tell you. We all have stories, and
- 20:52Speaker 1: you know, they're they're going to be doing one of
- 20:54Speaker 1: the local convalescent homes for lack of a better term
- 21:04Speaker 1: that is in our area up here is going to
- 21:07Speaker 1: be a hosting a car show. And I just love
- 21:09Speaker 1: to see the older folks come out and share their
- 21:15Speaker 1: stories and just light up. It's like something is triggered
- 21:19Speaker 1: so inertly for them and they just they just love
- 21:25Speaker 1: talking about cars and the memories that go with them,
- 21:30Speaker 1: good and bad.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be fun. It'll be fun to have everybody together.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I do know a lot of people from the Upper Valley, and.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I've got I went to a couple of car shows
- 21:39Speaker 3: this past week and a lot of the older generation
- 21:42Speaker 3: was really excited about it.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Actually, I talked to I went to one last night.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I think we talked to probably fifteen different people, and
- 21:49Speaker 3: everybody was like, I'm so glad you're doing it. It's
- 21:52Speaker 3: nice to have it here in the Upper Valley, and
- 21:55Speaker 3: so hopefully everything works out.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah, my, you know what, I'm about what you're doing
- 22:01Speaker 1: Chris on social media is you're you're really engaging people.
- 22:05Speaker 1: You're not just announcing the date and the time and
- 22:10Speaker 1: the location of the Upper Valley Cars and Coffee car shows,
- 22:15Speaker 1: but you're also asking people what was your favorite car,
- 22:21Speaker 1: what was your first car? What are you hoping to see?
- 22:25Speaker 1: Stuff like that? I love that. I mean, you know,
- 22:27Speaker 1: I can't help but post. I think it was yesterday
- 22:30Speaker 1: that my first I was sixteen years old. I was
- 22:33Speaker 1: mowing lawns in the neighborhood so that I could put
- 22:38Speaker 1: together I can't remember six seven hundred bucks. It was
- 22:42Speaker 1: less than a thousand for my first truck, which was
- 22:45Speaker 1: a seventy three Chevy C ten. And my god, did
- 22:51Speaker 1: I love that truck. Oh. I didn't care that it
- 22:55Speaker 1: was mustard yellow. It was mine, all mine. And I
- 23:00Speaker 1: the fuzzy rainbow dice on the on the rear view
- 23:05Speaker 1: mirror I had. I put the Pioneer sound system in there,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I had the air horn. I loved it.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's one of those trucks. Now you wish
- 23:16Speaker 2: you could get back, or wish you would capt you
- 23:18Speaker 2: know what I.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Mean, don't even bring that up. That's killing me. Man.
- 23:22Speaker 1: And then I went from that to a seventy cutlass.
- 23:31Speaker 1: And when I say that to my friends immediately they're like,
- 23:37Speaker 1: the four four two and no, no, Unfortunately it wasn't
- 23:41Speaker 1: the four four two, but man it was. It was
- 23:43Speaker 1: a four door, but God, did that thing fly. I
- 23:46Speaker 1: think that I was getting five maybe six miles a gallon.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was. It was fun the whole time,
- 23:55Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It was the big steering wheel, the huge gas pedal,
- 24:00Speaker 1: the vinyl seats, all the windows would would roll down
- 24:04Speaker 1: so the whole side of the car was wide open.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Those were the best days of my life.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be good.
- 24:13Speaker 3: We're gonna have a whole mix of cars, right, We're
- 24:15Speaker 3: gonna have stuff like that. I have a couple friends
- 24:19Speaker 3: who are bringing some Nissan Skyline GTRs. There's gonna be
- 24:25Speaker 3: a whole mix and it'd be something for everybody. I
- 24:28Speaker 3: also have some people who are gonna be handing out
- 24:30Speaker 3: like matchbox cars to the kids, some gift bags and
- 24:34Speaker 3: that kind of stuff, So that'll be fun.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Also, tell me about some of your sponsors that are like, oh, absolutely,
- 24:43Speaker 1: we're gonna be part of this. We wouldn't miss it
- 24:45Speaker 1: for the world.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Yeah, so we have five or six sponsors at this point.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Everybody pretty much reached out on through social media.
- 24:56Speaker 2: There's a lot of them. Powerhouse Mall obviously stepped up.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Let basically use the parking lot.
- 25:02Speaker 3: They gave us one hundred and thirty one hundred and
- 25:04Speaker 3: forty parking spaces. We're gonna have our coffee truck by
- 25:07Speaker 3: lew and Dill's Desserts, Shock Auto Styling, BML Property Maintenance,
- 25:13Speaker 3: Must Love Bargains.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Flint Auto Detailing.
- 25:15Speaker 3: And then just yesterday Watson Street Works out of Nashua
- 25:19Speaker 3: and New Hampshire reached out and he's actually donating a
- 25:23Speaker 3: gift card for us to raffle off and they do
- 25:26Speaker 3: custom hot rod wiring, lighting switches and power window kits
- 25:31Speaker 3: for most hots Wow.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Man, this is tremendous. And you know, listen, I think
- 25:38Speaker 1: between now and July twelfth, I don't think your phone's
- 25:42Speaker 1: really gonna pause much.
- 25:44Speaker 2: But uh no, I don't think so.
- 25:47Speaker 3: I have to speak to a couple other businesses actually
- 25:49Speaker 3: today that are wanting to sponsor, so hopefully those will
- 25:52Speaker 3: be firmed.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Up by the end of the day, and I think
- 25:55Speaker 2: it's gonna be good. There's a lot of excitement.
- 25:56Speaker 3: I actually never thought that everyone would be excited as
- 26:00Speaker 3: they truly are about it. I figured, like I said,
- 26:02Speaker 3: it was supposed to be just a thing for the
- 26:04Speaker 3: kids to get their friends together and hang out where
- 26:06Speaker 3: nobody's gonna bother them, and it turned into.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Way more of a thing than what we planned on.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Will it always be at the Powerhouse Mall?
- 26:15Speaker 3: The first four events are going to be at the
- 26:17Speaker 3: Powerhouse Mall only because that's really the only option that
- 26:21Speaker 3: I have right now with enough space. Yeah, I am
- 26:23Speaker 3: looking for a parking lot with more space. If we
- 26:27Speaker 3: need to move it, we will. We're gonna have event obviously.
- 26:31Speaker 3: First one is July twelfth.
- 26:32Speaker 2: We'll have August ninth, September thirteenth, and then October eleventh.
- 26:37Speaker 3: The schedule is out on Facebook on social media, and
- 26:40Speaker 3: I believe JD you also shared it so people can
- 26:43Speaker 3: find the schedule there.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and we want to ask people to not only
- 26:49Speaker 1: get on like and follow the page, but also don't
- 26:52Speaker 1: just look at that schedule, give it a like and
- 26:55Speaker 1: give it a share, make sure everybody knows about it.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Yes, too, definitely appreciate that it'll help make this, make
- 27:03Speaker 3: this a good thing. And if this season goes well,
- 27:06Speaker 3: I plan to continue it going forward.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Maybe we'll have a couple pop up events.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I was thinking about doing maybe a night event, which
- 27:14Speaker 3: you don't see very often, but something like maybe a
- 27:16Speaker 3: car is under the Stars event or something like that.
- 27:18Speaker 2: We haven't really firmed that up yet, but we're waiting
- 27:22Speaker 2: to see what.
- 27:22Speaker 3: The reception is for the first two events and how
- 27:25Speaker 3: many people show up, and that kind of stuff.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Is Chris, how do folks get in touch with you?
- 27:30Speaker 1: What's the easiest way if they want to get involved,
- 27:34Speaker 1: if they want to be a sponsor, if they want
- 27:36Speaker 1: to donate something, if they want to be part of
- 27:39Speaker 1: this in any capacity.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Easiest wi would be Upper Varied Cars and Coffee on Facebook.
- 27:46Speaker 3: That will obviously go right to my cell phone. There's
- 27:48Speaker 3: also an email address on there. Myself and Samantha Rice,
- 27:53Speaker 3: who's actually been helping me kind of market this whole thing.
- 27:56Speaker 3: She's done a lot of the social media stuff for me.
- 27:59Speaker 3: She stepped up involunteered to help out because she was
- 28:02Speaker 3: driving to all the way to Boston for Cars and
- 28:04Speaker 3: Coffee events and she just wanted to see something in
- 28:06Speaker 3: the Upper.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Valley more local.
- 28:09Speaker 3: So Facebook get the best myself or her. We'll get
- 28:12Speaker 3: back to you probably right away. I mean it's normally instant,
- 28:14Speaker 3: so so cool.
- 28:16Speaker 1: There, dude, I'm I'm so happy that you're doing this. Uh.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Central Vermont is thrilled that you're doing this. Hopefully we'll
- 28:26Speaker 1: get we'll get some some some folks from Central Vermont
- 28:29Speaker 1: to UH to head over to the UH to the
- 28:31Speaker 1: valley and get over there to West leb and check
- 28:34Speaker 1: this out on the twelfth. Of course, we're going to
- 28:37Speaker 1: be hammering it a lot between now and then. I'm
- 28:40Speaker 1: very excited about it. I mean, come on, you got
- 28:43Speaker 1: great cars, you got hot coffee, you got amazing conversations
- 28:49Speaker 1: going on, Bring your friends, bring your ride, get together
- 28:52Speaker 1: and just escape for a couple of hours and relive
- 28:56Speaker 1: the UH the old days of seeing some of these
- 28:59Speaker 1: some of these cars, and and just marvel at some
- 29:03Speaker 1: of the new stuff that's that people are doing with
- 29:06Speaker 1: modifying their their vehicles is staggering.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Yeah, there's gonna be some definitely some interesting cars there,
- 29:14Speaker 3: some stuff that you don't see every day, and there's
- 29:16Speaker 3: gonna be a couple of things that you don't need
- 29:17Speaker 3: to see driving on the road.
- 29:20Speaker 2: It'll be it'll be fun.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I have a couple car groups and car clubs that
- 29:24Speaker 3: have reached out to plan on coming. It's gonna be
- 29:26Speaker 3: there's gonna be a good mix of old and new
- 29:29Speaker 3: and and maybe even some motorcycles depending upon who shows up.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Wow, sounds amazing, dude. Listen, I we're connected. If there's
- 29:39Speaker 1: anything I can push for you, or if you ever
- 29:42Speaker 1: want some airtime, uh, just get in touch with me
- 29:45Speaker 1: and consider it done.
- 29:46Speaker 3: All right, awesome, my friend, Thank you for having me
- 29:50Speaker 3: on this morning, and uh go give us a like
- 29:53Speaker 3: and follow on Facebook and we'll see you on July twelfth.
- 29:56Speaker 1: You got it, man, Thanks Chris Hatch Right there, Upper
- 29:59Speaker 1: Valley Cars and Coffee. It is officially happening. Something that
- 30:04Speaker 1: kind of started as something real small, a little bit
- 30:07Speaker 1: of a pipe dream, and it has exploded. A lot
- 30:11Speaker 1: of people are going to be there and it is
- 30:13Speaker 1: going to be tremendous. I can't wait to get there myself.
- 30:16Speaker 1: It's going to be incredible. If you're just joining us,
- 30:20Speaker 1: it's just about nine thirty one. We got a big,
- 30:23Speaker 1: beautiful day tomorrow at the Country Club of Berry where
- 30:27Speaker 1: we're going to be streaming live right around nine o'clock
- 30:31Speaker 1: during registration tomorrow for the thirtieth annual Memorial Home Health
- 30:37Speaker 1: and Hospice Golf Tournament. Thirty years that this has been
- 30:41Speaker 1: going on. I'll be there tomorrow morning. I can't wait
- 30:43Speaker 1: to take you with me. I hope the sun is
- 30:46Speaker 1: shining as much as it is right now. Checking Vermont
- 30:50Speaker 1: headlines schools across Vermont yesterday, I know it was pretty tough.
- 30:59Speaker 1: What was it? Seven in schools yesterday? Targeted by a
- 31:01Speaker 1: wave of swatting and bomb threat hoaxes, forcing evacuations, lockdowns,
- 31:08Speaker 1: major law enforcement responses. How sad that this is happening again.
- 31:13Speaker 1: What was it last summer or the year, the summer
- 31:16Speaker 1: before that or spring? I should say that that's what's happening.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Authority say the threats appear to be coordinated, and so
- 31:25Speaker 1: far none have been found to be credible. Investigations are
- 31:30Speaker 1: ongoing as matter of fact. Vermont's Day Police says that
- 31:33Speaker 1: they have the FBI involved in the investigation investigation process
- 31:38Speaker 1: right now. Governor Phil Scott says significant progress was made
- 31:43Speaker 1: during this year's legislative session, despite disagreements over housing and
- 31:47Speaker 1: public safety, and taxes and mental health. Lawmakers wrapped up
- 31:53Speaker 1: work on several major issues while leaving others for future debate.
- 31:58Speaker 1: What do you say about this? What do you say
- 32:00Speaker 1: say significant progress made, maybe in some areas, maybe in
- 32:06Speaker 1: other areas. There's a few of you that are scratching
- 32:10Speaker 1: your head saying why wasn't that taken care of? During
- 32:13Speaker 1: this session? Discover Jazz Fest underway in downtown Burlington. We
- 32:20Speaker 1: got some nationally known performers, live musicians, local musicians, thousands
- 32:27Speaker 1: of visitors to the Queen City for one of Vermont's
- 32:31Speaker 1: signature summer events. Get on their Facebook page, Get on
- 32:36Speaker 1: the web and have a look at some of the
- 32:40Speaker 1: performers in the schedule of performances going on for a
- 32:44Speaker 1: little while for the Discovered Jazz Festival. Fond memories Sherilyn
- 32:49Speaker 1: and I have of running down to the waterfront and
- 32:51Speaker 1: in catching rubble bucket years ago during the Discovered Jazz Fest.
- 32:57Speaker 1: The former Lamoyle County the sheriff's deputy whose actions helped
- 33:03Speaker 1: derail a whole high profile Morrisville murder trial, indicted on
- 33:12Speaker 1: obstruction of justice related charges. Case stems from the twenty
- 33:19Speaker 1: twenty five Seth Brunell murder proceedings, where questions raised during
- 33:28Speaker 1: a prisoner transport became a Central issue. Saw a comment
- 33:38Speaker 1: yesterday about that or someone said somebody failed to do
- 33:46Speaker 1: their job. Motorcyclist and I'm seeing and hearing about more
- 33:52Speaker 1: motorcycle crashes than ever critical injuries yesterday following a crash
- 33:59Speaker 1: in Burlington, I actually it was Tuesday night, emergency crews
- 34:03Speaker 1: responded quickly. The crash temporarily snarled some traffic investigators working
- 34:13Speaker 1: to determine what caused the collision, but from what we know,
- 34:16Speaker 1: the motorcyclist is still alive. Please be careful if you're
- 34:20Speaker 1: on a motorcycle, no matter where you are, no matter
- 34:25Speaker 1: what kind of bike you have, no matter what kind
- 34:26Speaker 1: of riding you do, even if you're real conservative, and
- 34:31Speaker 1: be careful if you're driving, watch out for motorcycles. Okay,
- 34:37Speaker 1: it's not just you that's unpredictable. They are too. A
- 34:43Speaker 1: classroom kiln is being blamed for a fire at Vermont's school.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Staff and emergency responders acted quickly, preventing more extensive damage.
- 34:55Speaker 1: No serious injuries were reported. Uh saw that quickly yesterday,
- 35:01Speaker 1: but didn't see the name of the school. I think
- 35:04Speaker 1: it was somewhere down in Brattleborough. Way County Officials save
- 35:10Speaker 1: Vermont's new Halt Act requirements for mental health evaluations and
- 35:17Speaker 1: support services within correctional facilities are stretching already limited resources.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Jail administrators warned that staffing shortages and a lack of
- 35:30Speaker 1: treatment options could make compliance difficult without additional state funding.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Haven't we heard this before? National headlines the viral video
- 35:46Speaker 1: claiming that President Donald Trump's name was being physically removed
- 35:50Speaker 1: from the Kennedy Center. It appears to be fake. It
- 35:55Speaker 1: appears to be ai. The clip spread rapidly online. Of
- 36:00Speaker 1: course it did. Fact checkers found no evidence that it
- 36:04Speaker 1: was authentic. Ironically, the story gained traction while real battles
- 36:11Speaker 1: are going on over the Trump administration with the Kennedy Center,
- 36:20Speaker 1: and I think that's probably going to continue for a
- 36:22Speaker 1: little while. What a gigantic pissing match. Incredible. Only in America,
- 36:33Speaker 1: Only in Florida, we have an artist who is driving
- 36:41Speaker 1: a giant pear shaped moped. Now, when I think of
- 36:48Speaker 1: a moped, I don't necessarily think of pairs or a
- 36:52Speaker 1: mophead that could possibly be in the shape of a pair.
- 36:57Speaker 1: But it is, and he's driving it, not across Florida,
- 37:01Speaker 1: but across the country. He uh, Andrew Glubby is his name.
- 37:11Speaker 1: He says he built the whimsical vehicle himself and is
- 37:18Speaker 1: making the three thousand, one hundred mile journey from Florida
- 37:23Speaker 1: to the Pacific Northwest, turning heads everywhere. Pair shaped moped,
- 37:36Speaker 1: Ohio's famous basket shaped headquarters the former Langeburger building in Newark.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Have you seen this? It's back on the market, asking
- 37:56Speaker 1: price eight and a half million dollars. Not bad reasonable price.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Seven story structure, one of the strangest and most recognizable
- 38:08Speaker 1: office buildings not only in America but the world. It's
- 38:14Speaker 1: on the market eight and a half mil Saw yesterday
- 38:22Speaker 1: got into a discussion about this last night. Energy experts
- 38:28Speaker 1: are warning that continued draw downs of the Strategic Petroleum
- 38:36Speaker 1: Reserve have left our nation in a thinner cushion against
- 38:42Speaker 1: global supply disruptions, with tensions in the Middle East affecting
- 38:50Speaker 1: oil markets. Analysts say that gasoline prices could climb even
- 38:55Speaker 1: higher if supply roots remained threatened, which begs the question, Hey,
- 39:07Speaker 1: wait a second, where's all the oil from Venezuela. Don't
- 39:13Speaker 1: we have oil here in the States. Whatever happened to drill, baby, drill?
- 39:23Speaker 1: What say you, Donna Glenn? Oh my god? Two scientists
- 39:34Speaker 1: working at a US government laboratory charged after allegedly bringing
- 39:41Speaker 1: deactivated empox virus into the United States from Africa without
- 39:50Speaker 1: proper permits and then lying to investigators. Well, of course
- 39:57Speaker 1: they're gonna lie. Do you think they're gonna say, yeah,
- 40:01Speaker 1: we got it, it's right here, the empos virus. Federal
- 40:08Speaker 1: prosecutors say the materials were concealed in luggage and arrived
- 40:15Speaker 1: at the Detroit Metro Airport. How nice we have a
- 40:27Speaker 1: I don't understand this, and if I were on with
- 40:31Speaker 1: g tomorrow, I would ask him to break this down
- 40:36Speaker 1: and give us some explanation. There is a bizarre underground trend.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Apparently that's happening. I was talking the other day about
- 40:56Speaker 1: property being sold that's underwater, sold for real cheap. Now
- 41:08Speaker 1: we have folks going underground, living under the streets, not
- 41:17Speaker 1: on the streets, under the streets. There's a video that's
- 41:23Speaker 1: gone viral that is showing in New York City groups
- 41:31Speaker 1: of people, not just four or five or half a dozen,
- 41:37Speaker 1: but groups of people entering New York's sewer system at night,
- 41:51Speaker 1: lifting up manhole covers and going into their homes. I
- 42:04Speaker 1: don't and I never will be able to understand that
- 42:16Speaker 1: is it Ai, No people are actually doing this. I
- 42:25Speaker 1: just can't. I can't even wrap my head. I can
- 42:30Speaker 1: think of thousands of places right now, off the top
- 42:37Speaker 1: of my head that I would rather live, even if
- 42:40Speaker 1: I were homeless, then in the sewer system, especially of
- 42:49Speaker 1: New York City. How these people aren't gonna get a
- 42:58Speaker 1: disease and die fast? I don't know. Capitol Hill, we
- 43:06Speaker 1: have the Republican controlled House passing its first resolution aimed
- 43:13Speaker 1: at limiting US military action against Iran without congressional authorization.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Did you see this yesterday? This comes as President Trump
- 43:28Speaker 1: says diplomatic talks remain alive, and we have Secretary of
- 43:33Speaker 1: State Marco Rubio cautioning that no agreement is guaranteed and
- 43:38Speaker 1: tensions remain high. You think this has been such a
- 43:43Speaker 1: roller coaster ride what to believe, what not to believe? Anymore?
- 43:52Speaker 1: With anything our government, the media, the spin really who
- 44:04Speaker 1: honestly has got a real accurate, solid grasp of what
- 44:10Speaker 1: in the hell is going on between the United States
- 44:13Speaker 1: and Iran other than what we just hear. There's so
- 44:19Speaker 1: much misinformation it's amazing. One of the international stories that's
- 44:29Speaker 1: drawing attention today is the disappearance of this twenty year
- 44:34Speaker 1: old Auburn University student, James Weston higginbotham and I'm hearing
- 44:47Speaker 1: all about this. What happened, What may have happened? The
- 44:54Speaker 1: spat that he got into with family just before his disappearance.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Last scene May twenty ninth, traveling and hiking across some
- 45:16Speaker 1: of this area in Japan. An experienced hiker cell phone
- 45:24Speaker 1: last showed activity May twenty ninth in the evening. Japanese
- 45:32Speaker 1: police conducting an extensive search, canine units, helicopter's surveillance video.
- 45:40Speaker 1: FBI US officials also assisting his parents travel to Japan
- 45:47Speaker 1: to join the search and have publicly pleaded for help.
- 45:54Speaker 1: A lot of rumors flying around about this story, evidence
- 46:00Speaker 1: of foul play, no indication that he has been detained.
- 46:09Speaker 1: But man, you know, it's like anytime you leave anywhere
- 46:16Speaker 1: and venture out, taking a big risk, especially if you're
- 46:23Speaker 1: leaving the country. Seventy one degrees right now in Barry,
- 46:27Speaker 1: this is what we have. We got sunshine, we got
- 46:29Speaker 1: clouds in the mix, both eighty five degrees later on
- 46:34Speaker 1: today tonight, will I be out in the patio? Yes,
- 46:41Speaker 1: fifty six partly cloudy. That's patio weather Tomorrow Friday, it's
- 46:47Speaker 1: going to be amazing for the thirtieth Annual Memorial Golf
- 46:56Speaker 1: Tournament with Central Vermunt Home Health and Hospice. Eighty five
- 47:03Speaker 1: degrees on Friday, Tomorrow, June fifth, Maybe a few clouds
- 47:09Speaker 1: in the evening, but it is going to be a
- 47:12Speaker 1: beautiful day with Sunday to partly sunny. Sky's eighty five degrees,
- 47:18Speaker 1: light winds, perfect golf weather. And for those of you
- 47:26Speaker 1: that and I understand this if you're experiencing some stress
- 47:32Speaker 1: in that we've had rainy weekends and that's the time
- 47:36Speaker 1: when you need to get stuff done and you're not
- 47:39Speaker 1: getting it done outside because it's been raining on the weekends. Unfortunately,
- 47:48Speaker 1: we've got more rain coming this weekend, Saturday and Sunday,
- 47:52Speaker 1: both days. Percentages Saturday sixty percent, Sunday seventy percent. A
- 48:05Speaker 1: little bit of a cool front that's on the back
- 48:08Speaker 1: side of this heat today and tomorrow seventies Saturday and
- 48:12Speaker 1: Sunday again with clouds and rain. Can things change? Can
- 48:19Speaker 1: they improve? Yes? Is it a guarantee that it's going
- 48:27Speaker 1: to be rain at this point? Let's see sixty percent, Okay,
- 48:33Speaker 1: that's forty percent no rain. Thank you to our local
- 48:42Speaker 1: law enforcement this morning involved in the special Olympics Towards run.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Thank you to any and all who volunteer for these
- 48:56Speaker 1: athletes to allow them the opportunity to shine and to
- 49:04Speaker 1: display their potential. It is going to be an amazing
- 49:08Speaker 1: Olympic Games this weekend, regardless of what Mother Nature throws
- 49:14Speaker 1: our away, It's going to be amazing. Thank you to
- 49:18Speaker 1: again to the athletes, the volunteers, the law enforcement that
- 49:21Speaker 1: were part of the Torch run coming through the Granite
- 49:25Speaker 1: City this morning. It was an honor to be part
- 49:28Speaker 1: of that experience and it was a great way to
- 49:32Speaker 1: kick off my day. Have a fantastic rest of your Thursday.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Get yourself out tonight to Thunder Road for the Super
- 49:48Speaker 1: Thursday New England Super Modified Series Special tonight. I think
- 49:54Speaker 1: it's a post time seven o'clock. Whatever you do, get outside,
- 50:00Speaker 1: take a breath of fresh air and enjoy this weather.
- 50:07Speaker 1: We'll catch you tomorrow morning live from the Country Club
- 50:10Speaker 1: of Barry for the thirtieth Annual Memorial Golf Tournament with
- 50:17Speaker 1: Central from Home Health and Hospice tomorrow morning, right here
- 50:20Speaker 1: where you are now on aired out.
- 51:01Speaker 2: I'
