Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, everybody. I'm Tamar Judge and I'm Dan Geesling and
- 0:03Speaker 1: you're listening to Talking a Big Game. Hey guys, welcome
- 0:11Speaker 1: back to Talking a Big Game with myself, Tamra.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Judge and Dan Geesling.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Dan, you're not at home.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm not at home. I'm in New York and on vacation,
- 0:21Speaker 2: but we still get through a podcast here, which is amazing.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And you're at the iHeart Studio in New York.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I am here and you want to know the most
- 0:28Speaker 2: amazing part is that, So my wife is a huge
- 0:31Speaker 2: watch what Happened Live in and yesterday we went to
- 0:35Speaker 2: go watch, but Tamar reached out to Andy. It was like, hey,
- 0:38Speaker 2: Dan's going to be there. Da da da da da,
- 0:40Speaker 2: and like they completely like it was like my wife's
- 0:43Speaker 2: super bat you up. Yeah, it was. It was so
- 0:45Speaker 2: cool and I just want to thank you for doing
- 0:47Speaker 2: that because, oh, you're so well be my wife's life.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I was at Disneyland last week and when you told
- 0:51Speaker 1: me you were going, I reached out to Andy. I'm like, hey,
- 0:54Speaker 1: just let you know that.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Dan.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You know Big Brother Traders, my co host him and
- 0:58Speaker 1: his wife. He's like, yeah, I heard his wife. He's
- 1:00Speaker 1: a big fan of housewives.
- 1:01Speaker 4: He's all, dang it.
- 1:02Speaker 1: He goes Wednesday's usually housewife Wednesday and Thursday usually housewife.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So you didn't get to see me housewife.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Speaking of you're gonna be there, Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We're going to be crossing in the air. I believe
- 1:12Speaker 1: when you go.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Home Wednesday and you get in Wednesday.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Night, I get Wednesday night.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So when you go, okay, you know you have a
- 1:20Speaker 2: big finale to shoot, when you're going to watch What
- 1:21Speaker 2: Happens live? What is your mental prep for that? Are
- 1:24Speaker 2: you just go and wing it?
- 1:26Speaker 1: I just in the past I would have a couple
- 1:28Speaker 1: of cocktails and go. But I'm not really drinking anymore.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Once in a great while glass of wine. No, I
- 1:34Speaker 1: can't say it all. I'm just saying I don't get drunk,
- 1:37Speaker 1: if that makes sense. Like I'll have a glass of
- 1:39Speaker 1: wine because just because it tastes good at dinner once
- 1:42Speaker 1: in a great while. But I'm really trying to not
- 1:47Speaker 1: purposely drink and to have my wits about myself. So
- 1:51Speaker 1: you know, I don't act like an asshole, you know,
- 1:55Speaker 1: cause that's why I tend to do that, And so
- 1:59Speaker 1: normally I do us the day of watcher happens lives
- 2:01Speaker 1: to do press during the day. Then I have a
- 2:03Speaker 1: few hours in between. It's kind of an all day thing,
- 2:06Speaker 1: and then I start getting ready at my hotel or
- 2:08Speaker 1: sometimes at the studio, and then I head over to
- 2:11Speaker 1: the studio and just the energy, especially when it's live.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You went to a pre tape. When it's live, the
- 2:18Speaker 1: energy is bigger. There's you know, there's a bar. Was
- 2:21Speaker 1: there a bar open?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Well, I just say, like I walked off the elevator
- 2:24Speaker 2: and it was like music's blaring the bar tenders there.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I'm like, this is unlike any like show I've been on.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so you put the I wasn't sure if
- 2:32Speaker 1: pre tape did all that, but yeah, that's pretty much
- 2:34Speaker 1: what it's like. And you know, you get your adrenaline
- 2:36Speaker 1: against pumping, and as you know, the show goes by
- 2:39Speaker 1: really fast.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah it's so fast, but it's so much fun. Like
- 2:43Speaker 2: it just feelings. There's so many serious things.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Did he point you out in the audience?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, And I was like, you know me, I would
- 2:50Speaker 2: like to just drift back. And I was there for
- 2:52Speaker 2: my wife, but it was cool and I was just
- 2:54Speaker 2: really impressed to see like Andy remembered my wife. You know,
- 2:58Speaker 2: just stuff like that to me matters.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah, how does he know your wife?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Just because she they met at the Trader's finale, And
- 3:05Speaker 2: that was the whole reason I was able to go
- 3:06Speaker 2: on the Traders. Is like Chelsea's like, as long as
- 3:08Speaker 2: I get to meet Andy, go do it.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Did meet at the traders finale, That's right, that is right.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But like, you know, you're in the business. You know,
- 3:16Speaker 2: like some people are not as they seem, and you know,
- 3:19Speaker 2: maybe act.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And he's so sweet and wants everybody to feel comfortable
- 3:23Speaker 1: and he's a great guy. He really is.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Side. I know we have guests here, but I just
- 3:28Speaker 2: want to say, like, you look amazing. You don't look
- 3:30Speaker 2: like you're three weeks off Shrek surgery, like you don't
- 3:33Speaker 2: like sometimes when people have surgery, you're like, oh, my
- 3:35Speaker 2: head transplant, you don't look like you don't look like that.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm a little peak. My skin's still very delicate. It's
- 3:43Speaker 1: very thin because it got so many layers burnt off,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and I have scabbing in my hairline where they did
- 3:50Speaker 1: the incisions because I did endoscopic through four different places
- 3:54Speaker 1: on the top of my head, and so I'm very
- 3:56Speaker 1: sensitive at the top of my head, got a couple
- 3:59Speaker 1: of bald spots up there. It's really great. You look amazing,
- 4:03Speaker 1: and yeah, it's I mean, it's amazing what they can do.
- 4:07Speaker 4: He says.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's still like my eyebrows was still settle a little bit,
- 4:11Speaker 1: and he doesn't want me to like really raise my eyebrows,
- 4:14Speaker 1: doesn't want me to exercise those muscles, so I'm trying
- 4:17Speaker 1: not to.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Before we bring the guests on, are you post fact everything?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Are you happy you did it? Like regrets?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Oh no, no regrets, no regrets at all. So I mean, no,
- 4:27Speaker 1: it's been three weeks now, so yeah, I'm Thursday of
- 4:32Speaker 1: be four weeks, so yeah, I'm happy. Now we have
- 4:36Speaker 1: Teddy and hud Melling camp.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Now.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I don't know if you know the backstory, but you know,
- 4:40Speaker 1: Teddy's my co host.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Have you ever interviewed her and like had a chance to, like,
- 4:45Speaker 2: I mean, we're gonna go like she got voted out
- 4:47Speaker 2: Big Brother first is like the word you.
- 4:53Speaker 1: The only time I watched Big Brother, I had like
- 4:55Speaker 1: a big final like premiere party because Teddy was on.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I was so excited and then I watched. I watched
- 5:02Speaker 1: until she got kicked off and then I didn't watch anymore.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But Hud is her brother. John Mellencamp the Koogs is
- 5:09Speaker 1: their father, and you know, Hud went on the show.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I actually it's called Claim to Fame, as you know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: and actually watched an episode of it.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Do your research morning.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And because I just wanted to know how it went.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And you know, and if you don't know, it's basically
- 5:27Speaker 1: therese are people that are related to very famous people
- 5:32Speaker 1: and they do much like traders. There's a lot of
- 5:35Speaker 1: challenges that go on or any competition show Big Brother,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and there's a lot of challenges going on trying to
- 5:39Speaker 1: figure out who's who. I watched huddon he didn't know
- 5:42Speaker 1: who Kelly Clarkson was.
- 5:45Speaker 2: We're gonna get a chance to ask him.
- 5:47Speaker 1: He was doing a challenge. He also didn't know that
- 5:49Speaker 1: Taylor Swift was dating a football player. And guess what.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Hud used to live in Kansas City.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Well, I'm excited, and I'm also excited to see the
- 5:58Speaker 2: dynamic between you and Teddy because this is a this
- 6:02Speaker 2: is going to be a different feel from what you're
- 6:04Speaker 2: normally used to. Yeah, you know when you're doing so.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Teddy, Joe Mellencamp was a house guest on Celebrity Big
- 6:10Speaker 1: Brother season three. Teddy's fate was in the hands of
- 6:14Speaker 1: the first head of household, who had eyes on Teddy
- 6:17Speaker 1: from the very first time she noticed her. Now, Hud
- 6:21Speaker 1: is Teddy's brother. He pretty I mean, I've never met him,
- 6:26Speaker 1: he's pretty quiet. Don't know much about him. And once
- 6:30Speaker 1: Teddy told me, oh, my brother's on this reality I
- 6:32Speaker 1: go what Wait, I didn't know you had a brother.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So Claim to Fame season three contestant Hud placed second
- 6:38Speaker 1: on the show and was revealed to be Grammy winning
- 6:41Speaker 1: singer John Mellencamp's son. So we're going to get into
- 6:45Speaker 1: it with them and ask them all the questions. I
- 6:47Speaker 1: know you're gonna have a lot of questions for Teddy
- 6:50Speaker 1: because you know she was on Big Brother.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what it's like to be voted
- 6:54Speaker 2: out the first week, so I'm interested to hear her
- 6:57Speaker 2: side of things.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so Teddy, how was it been voted out first? Well,
- 7:01Speaker 1: let's bring him in.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Hello, Hi, guys, I love it, Like, where's my rundown?
- 7:08Speaker 4: They're like, you don't get a rundown. You're not the host.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You do not get a rundown. That's the last thing
- 7:13Speaker 1: we want in your hands is a damn rundown. You'll
- 7:15Speaker 1: run this show, is what you'll do.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I've been looking forward to this, by the way, like
- 7:21Speaker 2: just to have Tamera and Teddy on opposite side. Like
- 7:24Speaker 2: this is not You're not on the same side now,
- 7:26Speaker 2: it's like different seats.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I'm I know, high, Hud, how are you?
- 7:31Speaker 5: I'm great? How are you guys doing good?
- 7:33Speaker 2: Great?
- 7:33Speaker 1: We're doing great. Now we're just gonna get right into
- 7:37Speaker 1: it because you know, Teddy, Dan has a lot of
- 7:40Speaker 1: questions for you about Big Brother. Oh god, a lot
- 7:43Speaker 1: of questions. Now, Teddy and Hud, you've both made separate
- 7:47Speaker 1: appearances on two different reality game shows, Celebrity Big Brother
- 7:51Speaker 1: and Claim to Fame. Now, I couldn't sleep, so I
- 7:54Speaker 1: got up at four three this morning and I watched
- 7:56Speaker 1: an episode of Claim to Fame and Hut, you really
- 8:01Speaker 1: didn't know what Kelly Clarkson looked like, but you had
- 8:08Speaker 1: a hunch, hunch, and you didn't know Taylor Swift was
- 8:12Speaker 1: dating a football player, although you used to live in
- 8:15Speaker 1: Kansas City and you clearly shaved off the stash.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I mostly just threw the stash out to ruin
- 8:21Speaker 5: Teddy's Christmas cards.
- 8:22Speaker 6: So when he showed up to Christmas with the stash
- 8:28Speaker 6: and he knows we do our like family pajamas, Like
- 8:31Speaker 6: it's our family tradition, and I'm like the stash really,
- 8:35Speaker 6: and he's like, has to god.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I got a question what inspired you to like go
- 8:40Speaker 2: on this show and how did it come about?
- 8:41Speaker 5: Well, A big part for me was just it looks
- 8:44Speaker 5: like a fun time and looks like summer camp for adults.
- 8:46Speaker 5: And then I had to be Teddy.
- 8:49Speaker 1: And you did buy a lot a lot? What you
- 8:52Speaker 1: came in second place?
- 8:54Speaker 5: Yes, ma'am, no you did.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I thought you were third.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Now you made that up a right?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Oh so hut what was Teddy like growing up? Did
- 9:02Speaker 1: she make up a lot of shit?
- 9:03Speaker 5: I don't know about making up, but you know, there's
- 9:05Speaker 5: a couple of tables out there.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I'm sure exaggeration.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Maybe that's a Mellingcamp family tribute.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Yes, we all are the same in that way. We
- 9:17Speaker 4: add a little sauce to every taco.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's the way to bear. I think every
- 9:21Speaker 1: family is like that.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I got a question for about it about his experience.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So when you're in this game, was it what you
- 9:27Speaker 2: signed up for. You're like, I'm not doing any more
- 9:29Speaker 2: reality TV after this. What was your experience like actually
- 9:32Speaker 2: in the game and maneuvering, and did you have any
- 9:35Speaker 2: regrets of like I shouldn't have done this.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Well, the entire time, I had a great time. It
- 9:40Speaker 5: was my biggest concern going in was everyone there. It's
- 9:43Speaker 5: not gonna be nice. Everyone's gonna be like real cut throat,
- 9:46Speaker 5: no one's to get along. But everyone gets along really
- 9:48Speaker 5: well throughout the entire time filming. We just met up
- 9:51Speaker 5: at Farm Made the other day, had a great time.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Everyone's still friends. So I have no regrets about doing it.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I think I made some life on friends all the
- 9:59Speaker 5: way as well.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Oh that's amazing. Like me and Dan we did Traders together. Now,
- 10:04Speaker 1: was there anybody that you went into this game and
- 10:07Speaker 1: you're like, oh, I totally know who That is not
- 10:09Speaker 1: a one, not one.
- 10:12Speaker 5: hYP pop culture knowledge is lacking, to say the least.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I was a little bit unwell with the amount of
- 10:17Speaker 1: unhealthy food that was consumed in the episode that I watched.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the I was like, whoa what it was?
- 10:26Speaker 3: When he blended up the clue and the other dude
- 10:30Speaker 3: drank it.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Well, I don't think that I saw that on the
- 10:34Speaker 1: I only watched one episode, but uh, I'd love to
- 10:36Speaker 1: hear about that.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Well, after one of the competitions, I won a couple
- 10:42Speaker 5: of different clues and everyone just packs some on him
- 10:45Speaker 5: the whole time. You don't want to like drop one
- 10:47Speaker 5: or like have someone look over your shoulder and boom,
- 10:50Speaker 5: there's your ticket. Like how do I get rid of these?
- 10:53Speaker 5: And I was thinking, I asked, somebody, is there a
- 10:55Speaker 5: lighter around here?
- 10:56Speaker 3: That?
- 10:56Speaker 5: Like, no, none of that. You're not starting a fighter anything.
- 11:02Speaker 5: I'll think of something else, like paper shredded. I mean
- 11:04Speaker 5: there's not one of those. Oh, it's close enough the paper.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Did you land on your sister at all heading into this,
- 11:12Speaker 2: because you know she's been on reality TV, been on
- 11:14Speaker 2: competition shows. Did you say, hey, like give me some
- 11:16Speaker 2: pointers or what was a pre show conversation like with
- 11:20Speaker 2: your sister more just.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Be yourself, be true to yourself, play to the best
- 11:25Speaker 5: of your abilities, but you know, don't hesitate. It's gonna
- 11:28Speaker 5: take someone out in the way to keeping you from winning.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Well, let's ask the question that we know our listeners
- 11:33Speaker 1: want to hear. What does the koogs think about this
- 11:36Speaker 1: you guys being on reality TV doing these competition shows.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Was he like kids?
- 11:42Speaker 3: No?
- 11:42Speaker 1: Or was he very supportive for me?
- 11:45Speaker 5: He was very supportive.
- 11:46Speaker 3: He's like, if you're one of the boy is he
- 11:49Speaker 3: very supportive of everything that you do? Oh?
- 11:52Speaker 1: Is that how it works? Yeah?
- 11:54Speaker 3: If it's me or Justice and Michelle, we can go
- 11:56Speaker 3: kick rocks.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Okay, So your.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Dad would not be on Housewise Beverly Hills when you
- 12:00Speaker 1: were on, he wouldn't be in camera, right, No, But
- 12:03Speaker 1: didn't your dad do a video or something?
- 12:07Speaker 5: There's a cameo in there.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Your dad did a cameo? Well, this is cold. Turn
- 12:13Speaker 1: me into a therapy session.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Well, let's also point out that I was offered a
- 12:17Speaker 3: job and I can't say which one it was, but
- 12:21Speaker 3: it was when I really wanted to do another competition show,
- 12:24Speaker 3: and they said, we just need to make sure that
- 12:26Speaker 3: your dad will make a video for it for when
- 12:30Speaker 3: you get booted out or if you win, or whatever
- 12:32Speaker 3: it may be.
- 12:33Speaker 4: And I called him. He's like, I'm not doing that.
- 12:37Speaker 3: You know, I'm not doing the reality television show competitions.
- 12:40Speaker 4: It's cheesy.
- 12:42Speaker 3: And then, much to my surprise, the final Flamed of
- 12:46Speaker 3: Fame I see the cobes pop up.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. Now, I remember early on when Teddy
- 12:53Speaker 1: and I started doing to teas in a pod. We
- 12:55Speaker 1: were in Napa and she was on the phone with
- 12:58Speaker 1: her dad and she asked him to sing a little
- 13:02Speaker 1: little diddy about Teddy and Tamra. And he says little
- 13:06Speaker 1: diddy about Teddy and camera. And I'm like, and I
- 13:10Speaker 1: go tell him it's Tamra. She's like, no, we get one.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Try that's it with him.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Wait, Teddy, when you want to do the show and
- 13:17Speaker 2: your dad said, no, is that it? Can you push?
- 13:20Speaker 2: You know? What is that? Relationship? Like?
- 13:22Speaker 3: Well, I mean, how can answer this? More like we're
- 13:25Speaker 3: on a family group chat. Who do you think pushes
- 13:28Speaker 3: the most on the group?
- 13:29Speaker 5: Cha, hud, I'm gonna go ahead see you.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 3: So what happens is all the siblings whenever we want
- 13:36Speaker 3: something or whenever we want to like seal the deal
- 13:39Speaker 3: on whatever may be a family vacation, a trip of this,
- 13:43Speaker 3: it's all the family will side text and call me
- 13:46Speaker 3: and be like, all right, you're the one that can
- 13:48Speaker 3: push dad.
- 13:49Speaker 4: You do this. But then when he loses his shit,
- 13:53Speaker 4: none of them have my back.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Not a fricking Oh no, I went rogue on my
- 13:59Speaker 3: own and I'm I'm like why yeah, but yeah no.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Once he said no, then they went back to the
- 14:07Speaker 3: network and the networks like if he's not going to
- 14:10Speaker 3: agree to do that, all the other competitors family is
- 14:14Speaker 3: and so Teddy's out.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Teddy, let me ask you, is it how much of
- 14:19Speaker 2: you know, being who you guys are and you know
- 14:21Speaker 2: who your dead is. How much of that on you
- 14:23Speaker 2: individually is a burden versus like how do you weigh
- 14:26Speaker 2: that out? Because like they want you as a competitor
- 14:29Speaker 2: on the show only with this asterisk, Like how do
- 14:32Speaker 2: you deal with that? Well?
- 14:34Speaker 3: I mean I think there's of course that moment of
- 14:38Speaker 3: like am I not good enough without him? But also
- 14:42Speaker 3: I'm really proud of who he is and all that
- 14:46Speaker 3: he's accomplished, So I you know, it goes both ways.
- 14:49Speaker 3: And I think there's a lot of jobs that I
- 14:51Speaker 3: have booked and a lot of things that I was
- 14:53Speaker 3: able to do without him. And the main thing he
- 14:55Speaker 3: has taught us is work ethic and being fighters. And
- 14:59Speaker 3: you know, we fight till the death in this family,
- 15:03Speaker 3: like we really go for it. And I attribute that
- 15:06Speaker 3: to him, And I think if he told me yes
- 15:09Speaker 3: to everything that I wanted. I'd probably even be a
- 15:12Speaker 3: bigger douche lord than I am now, So.
- 15:16Speaker 1: No, I don't think it's possible. Just kidding, now, Hud,
- 15:20Speaker 1: were you on Beverly Hills with Teddy? Did you film?
- 15:24Speaker 5: We tried to shoot a couple of things.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I think, right, yeah, we filmed. Hud actually almost knocked
- 15:29Speaker 3: me out.
- 15:30Speaker 5: I don't know about all that.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Oh, oh, really.
- 15:35Speaker 3: We were doing a boxing because HUD's the Golden Gloves.
- 15:39Speaker 3: He's a Golden Gloves champion, big time boxer. So Hudd
- 15:42Speaker 3: was in town and I was like, all right, you
- 15:43Speaker 3: want to do a boxing class on Beverly Hills And
- 15:46Speaker 3: he's like yeah, and he comes. I cannot believe they
- 15:49Speaker 3: didn't use the scene because not only did he talk
- 15:51Speaker 3: shit the entire time to me and make me look
- 15:54Speaker 3: like a total asshole, then at the end he popped
- 15:56Speaker 3: me one in the face and they didn't show that.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Now after one's a little hard. She wasn't keeping her
- 16:03Speaker 5: hands up and I give her a little flick in
- 16:04Speaker 5: the nose.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Oh so this is her over exaggerating coming in right now?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Very different, honey, Do I need to call you brand
- 16:13Speaker 1: from real Houses of New York.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I did my nose bleed?
- 16:17Speaker 5: It did not?
- 16:18Speaker 4: Okay, well, I was just trying to remember I remember
- 16:24Speaker 4: pay but I was like, I don't want to say it,
- 16:26Speaker 4: blad if it didn't.
- 16:28Speaker 5: But there was a couple of couple.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Of those tears I had to wipe on back, pull
- 16:32Speaker 3: my fake eyelashes off to get those.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Teddy, let's talk about your time on Celebrity Big Brother
- 16:37Speaker 1: for a moment. Okay, I feel like Dan might have
- 16:40Speaker 1: a lot of questions for you, since, well, Dan is
- 16:43Speaker 1: like a champion and I'm a champion a looser, Dan,
- 16:47Speaker 1: why don't you take over this?
- 16:49Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:49Speaker 2: So to me, it's always like when someone's in that environment,
- 16:52Speaker 2: it's either exactly what they think or it's the worst
- 16:55Speaker 2: thing in the world. When you walked in there and
- 16:57Speaker 2: it hits you, Okay, you're micd up all the time.
- 16:59Speaker 2: There's cameras everywhere. What was your reaction to that, because
- 17:03Speaker 2: that is an extremely bizarre thing that very few people
- 17:06Speaker 2: get to experience. What was your reaction to actually being Okay,
- 17:10Speaker 2: I'm here, I'm in the bubble. You can't hide.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Well. I think something that also added into the experience
- 17:18Speaker 3: on the show was this was during COVID, So not
- 17:21Speaker 3: only were we in a bubble while we were on
- 17:23Speaker 3: the show, but we were in quarantine for two weeks
- 17:26Speaker 3: before we started filming. So you're in a hotel room
- 17:30Speaker 3: by yourself, like you can't, you know, all you've got
- 17:34Speaker 3: is like you can watch your shows. I like begged
- 17:37Speaker 3: them to bring in a Peloton bike, like I was
- 17:39Speaker 3: going crazy in that.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Did you have a window, like a good window that
- 17:42Speaker 1: you could.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I did, and I would like try to hear who
- 17:45Speaker 3: the other people were. And I remember the only person
- 17:48Speaker 3: that I could figure out who it was with Sean
- 17:50Speaker 3: and Moechler because she there's like a small little balcony,
- 17:53Speaker 3: you know, a balcony that doesn't even have a balcony.
- 17:55Speaker 1: But it just has full bacon.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yeah, And I saw on her Instagram she was like
- 18:00Speaker 3: doing like an only fans or something like some sort
- 18:03Speaker 3: of sexy photo.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I'm like, I know that balcony.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So, but didn't they tell you couldn't post anything from
- 18:10Speaker 1: your room?
- 18:11Speaker 3: They did, but I think because it wasn't clear what
- 18:14Speaker 3: where she was, I mean, unless you were in that hotel,
- 18:17Speaker 3: which I think everybody that does Big Brother goes to
- 18:19Speaker 3: that hotel. First, you don't recognize it. It's not a
- 18:22Speaker 3: hotel I would frequent on my own.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Waited, Okay, so you go through. It's a rite of passage, right,
- 18:28Speaker 2: you go through like the bizarre sequester before you go in.
- 18:33Speaker 2: So that's hard in its own own right. And Tamra
- 18:35Speaker 2: got a piece of that and Traders, but it's much
- 18:37Speaker 2: more centered Big Brother. But when you get dropped in
- 18:40Speaker 2: and you see all these different personalities, how did you
- 18:43Speaker 2: handle that? Because to me, that is one of the
- 18:46Speaker 2: most interesting parts of the social experiment that is Big Brother.
- 18:49Speaker 3: I would say at first I was handling it fine,
- 18:53Speaker 3: like I enjoyed all the different personalities. Our first day,
- 18:58Speaker 3: we went right into a competition, and I remember thinking
- 19:02Speaker 3: every day we're going to have a competition, like this
- 19:05Speaker 3: is going to be on a popping But no, like
- 19:11Speaker 3: there was nothing like I would have played it completely
- 19:14Speaker 3: different had I Wait.
- 19:15Speaker 1: So there was days without competitions.
- 19:17Speaker 4: There was weeks without any nothing.
- 19:23Speaker 1: You would just hung out at the house.
- 19:24Speaker 3: You hung out at the house. You couldn't have a phone.
- 19:27Speaker 3: You couldn't even play games because the games are trademarked.
- 19:30Speaker 3: There's one little gym you're you know, sleeping and lamar
- 19:35Speaker 3: shit the bed, lamar.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Shit, the bed. You're sleeping with multiple people in a hall?
- 19:38Speaker 1: Are you in the same room? Are you in rooms
- 19:40Speaker 1: with guys in a room?
- 19:41Speaker 3: I was in a hallway, but yes, I was next
- 19:43Speaker 3: to Lamar and Todd all the way.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Yeah, we had a hall. I was late to like arrive.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Huh, Like they space you out and so by the
- 19:53Speaker 3: time I went, like, everybody had all the good spots.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Oh, so you get to pick your own room.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 3: So I would say that was the most challenging part
- 20:00Speaker 3: is like that mind game of like what are we
- 20:02Speaker 3: doing today? Oh? Nothing, absolutely nothing, and and it does
- 20:10Speaker 3: the live feed doesn't even start for the first ten days.
- 20:21Speaker 2: So Teddy, you started to say, like, if you could
- 20:23Speaker 2: play it different, you would do this, and we didn't
- 20:25Speaker 2: get to it. So you got voted out first. What
- 20:28Speaker 2: do you for people listening? I didn't see that. What
- 20:29Speaker 2: do you are you smirking? Do I'm not smarking? Maybe
- 20:33Speaker 2: a little bit? Maybe told I was.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Told going into it, do not do well in the
- 20:41Speaker 3: first challenge because then you'll be perceived as a threat.
- 20:44Speaker 2: It's great advice. And did you I didn't.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I held on to the bitter freaking end and came
- 20:55Speaker 3: in second behind like the WWE fighter or whatever. She
- 20:59Speaker 3: was the boxing champion and I tried to make a
- 21:01Speaker 3: deal with her in the moment. In hindsight, when she
- 21:06Speaker 3: didn't accept my deal and I came in second, I
- 21:09Speaker 3: probably then should have catered to her and like, I
- 21:13Speaker 3: didn't know she was going to be in that suite
- 21:14Speaker 3: for two weeks, and I should have been kissing her ass.
- 21:17Speaker 3: I had just created my own alliances with outside of her,
- 21:21Speaker 3: Because to be honest, I was pissed.
- 21:23Speaker 4: I was like, f off, like why not try to
- 21:25Speaker 4: help me? I'm trying to help.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Tell me that is that one of the gameplays that
- 21:28Speaker 1: you probably would have done differently? Looking black, I would.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Have gone and kissed her ass because I could have.
- 21:33Speaker 3: She That was the one thing she said to me
- 21:35Speaker 3: is why didn't you come to me?
- 21:38Speaker 4: I would have worked with you.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Are you capable of doing that? Though? Like someone that
- 21:42Speaker 2: beat you in a competition, you put your tail between
- 21:44Speaker 2: your legs and then you go like, I do you
- 21:46Speaker 2: think you can? Like, in hindsight, you can, but could
- 21:49Speaker 2: you physically?
- 21:51Speaker 1: There's hud smirk, Go ahead, answer that, Teddy?
- 21:54Speaker 4: Do you think I could have hud.
- 21:55Speaker 5: I you know you could have you had saw some
- 21:57Speaker 5: pride on that one, but you know you.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Could have done I mean, we have a family football
- 22:02Speaker 3: game every Thanksgiving and we're like, it's not a good
- 22:05Speaker 3: game if somebody doesn't end in tears and quit. So like,
- 22:09Speaker 3: I think what I couldn't have done is I couldn't
- 22:13Speaker 3: have gone in and lost the first competition. Like I
- 22:15Speaker 3: couldn't have fallen off like before, you know, I mean
- 22:19Speaker 3: there were people that couldn't even get on the rope
- 22:21Speaker 3: when the stuff was.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I couldn't have done that.
- 22:22Speaker 3: But I could have gone in and tucked my tail
- 22:25Speaker 3: between my legs and tried to be friends with the girls.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I think I would have just fallen off just for
- 22:30Speaker 1: the sake of it. So people think I'm just a weakling.
- 22:33Speaker 4: You know, you're smarter than me.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Next time you go, let's talk and I will have
- 22:37Speaker 2: you throwing every competition and then you'll be like your
- 22:40Speaker 2: brother in the final two at the end, and then
- 22:42Speaker 2: you got a shot to win the whole thing.
- 22:43Speaker 1: How you would you do, big brother?
- 22:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it looks like a fun time. I like physical
- 22:49Speaker 5: aspects of competitions like that. There's a lot more social
- 22:52Speaker 5: work that I would have to rush up on a Yeah.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the mental part of it, the mental mind games.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Yeah, it sounds like you just take so much time
- 23:03Speaker 5: as well. You're just sitting around trying to either be
- 23:06Speaker 5: friend people or not look like a buhole. And that
- 23:09Speaker 5: would be there's a ticking block on this not looking
- 23:11Speaker 5: like an asshole.
- 23:12Speaker 3: I mean, the fact that you made it the entire
- 23:15Speaker 3: claim to fame without looking like an asshole.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I was like, what, I.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Don't feel like Hud could be an asshole.
- 23:22Speaker 5: I like that, stop the podcast, wrap it up.
- 23:26Speaker 1: You just don't look like you have that ability to
- 23:29Speaker 1: be an asshole.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I mean me and Teddy, on the other hand, the.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. We're assholes, all
- 23:39Speaker 3: of us.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But you are your dad's daughter, Teddy.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Would you play a big brother again? Would you do
- 23:43Speaker 2: it again?
- 23:44Speaker 3: I mean I would probably do about anything for money,
- 23:47Speaker 3: so it's it's hard to say I wouldn't do it again.
- 23:50Speaker 4: But it was definitely the hardest thing I've ever done.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Why do you say that, not.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Being able to speak with my kids, having any outside connection,
- 24:00Speaker 3: feeling like trapped inside of a I mean, it's a
- 24:03Speaker 3: sound stage.
- 24:03Speaker 1: It's not a house, did is it always been filmed
- 24:06Speaker 1: at the same location like you and Dan filmed the
- 24:08Speaker 1: same location, except like.
- 24:10Speaker 2: The first couple of seasons, but it's been there for
- 24:12Speaker 2: twenty years.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean never once did I see sunshine or
- 24:16Speaker 3: be outside like you beg did you.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Say you gained like ten pounds?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Well yeah, because you everything is like a communal like you.
- 24:24Speaker 3: One person cooks one night the other like I never cooked,
- 24:27Speaker 3: but I would do the dishes like that was my job.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So they don't have cleaners. You had to clean toilets
- 24:32Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Yes, Cynthia was actually I mean it got to the
- 24:37Speaker 3: point where you're just like, holy crap, like you have
- 24:40Speaker 3: to really be a team player.
- 24:41Speaker 4: And then I in my mind, I thought the.
- 24:44Speaker 3: People that didn't do the dishes or didn't clean or
- 24:46Speaker 3: didn't cook, like everybody would want them out, but nobody
- 24:49Speaker 3: did because those same people were also bad in the challenges,
- 24:53Speaker 3: so they want to keep the weakest links around, which
- 24:56Speaker 3: to me, I'm such like a if I don't like you,
- 24:58Speaker 3: I don't like you, and I want you out even
- 25:01Speaker 3: if you, you know, aren't like a competition for me,
- 25:04Speaker 3: And I think you know that's what's It's tricky for me.
- 25:08Speaker 5: You got to have the layups ready to go.
- 25:12Speaker 2: So now that you both have have gone through the
- 25:14Speaker 2: reality TV competition, like you've been in that world, would
- 25:17Speaker 2: you guys ever consider because I imagine you guys would
- 25:20Speaker 2: be a very interesting force to watch. Have you guys
- 25:23Speaker 2: thought about doing anything together or putting yourselves in.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Position amazing race?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, like amazing race. Would you guys do something like
- 25:29Speaker 2: that together?
- 25:30Speaker 1: Oh?
- 25:30Speaker 4: For sure.
- 25:31Speaker 3: I mean if you think I'm competitive, Hutt is more
- 25:34Speaker 3: competitive than me, and he actually can drive and navigate things,
- 25:39Speaker 3: and I'm pretty manipulative. So I feel like the combination,
- 25:45Speaker 3: like I'd love to do Amazing Race or Survivor or
- 25:48Speaker 3: really any of them, wouldn't you, like a hud.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Yeah, it sounds like the most fun thing we could do.
- 25:53Speaker 5: I feel like if we're on an amazing race, it
- 25:54Speaker 5: would be just cut through it with everybody and we
- 25:57Speaker 5: would either be I.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Mean, we'd either love each other more like Hude and
- 26:01Speaker 3: eye of all of our siblings, like we're the ones
- 26:04Speaker 3: that we can make eye contact while we're at the
- 26:06Speaker 3: table of the five of us and know exactly what
- 26:08Speaker 3: the other one's thinking.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, Ted, you said you'd do all these shows and like,
- 26:13Speaker 2: I believe you with no hesitation, survivor amazing whatever. Like
- 26:16Speaker 2: for you to say that so definitively, where does that
- 26:19Speaker 2: come from for you? Because you've been through Big Brother
- 26:22Speaker 2: to do a show like these shows, they're not like
- 26:25Speaker 2: there's a mental toll that weighs on you. But you're
- 26:28Speaker 2: just like, I'll do them all Traders.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I'm like, nope, never again, never again.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Well, I think I mean, correct me if I'm wrong'd,
- 26:35Speaker 3: But we were raised in such a competitive atmosphere that
- 26:41Speaker 3: we thrive in it. It's, you know why I also
- 26:44Speaker 3: ride horses. It's why I hud You know, does that come.
- 26:46Speaker 1: From your strictly your dad or your mom? I think
- 26:49Speaker 1: it's you know, it's.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I think it's got to be job. We've got different moms.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we got different moms, So then it's definitely your dad.
- 26:57Speaker 4: And you know it's very like.
- 26:58Speaker 3: No nonsense, like you either level up or you're out,
- 27:01Speaker 3: Like there isn't kind of that mestal.
- 27:03Speaker 2: How was that communicated to you both as kids or teenagers.
- 27:07Speaker 5: Well, even my mom's are incredibly competitive as well, Like
- 27:09Speaker 5: she'll be jogging on the beach in Hilton head. I
- 27:12Speaker 5: remember this because I was jogging with her and somebody
- 27:15Speaker 5: passed here and just got a little faster. Yeah all right,
- 27:20Speaker 5: well i'll see you back at the house.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:23Speaker 3: But I think you know, we all, we all are
- 27:26Speaker 3: doing our best and you know, I guess are worst
- 27:30Speaker 3: too when we're when there's a competition aspect to something,
- 27:33Speaker 3: because if not, we get ourselves into trouble.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, there's one thing I do know about my
- 27:37Speaker 1: partner in crime, Teddy Mellencamp, is that she is a
- 27:41Speaker 1: hustler and she it doesn't matter how much money shays
- 27:45Speaker 1: in her bank account. She's still looking for that next
- 27:47Speaker 1: job and she's doing all the things. Teddy, how would
- 27:51Speaker 1: you define success?
- 27:52Speaker 3: I mean, how I define success and how my brain
- 27:56Speaker 3: actually thinks of success are two very different things. Like
- 27:59Speaker 3: I would love to say, like success for me is
- 28:01Speaker 3: feeling at peace and being able to afford all the
- 28:04Speaker 3: things that I want in this life and.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Support my kids.
- 28:08Speaker 3: But I really, unfortunately for everyone in my life, it's
- 28:13Speaker 3: I have a very it's never enough personality and that
- 28:17Speaker 3: goes with friendships and business and and everything. Like I
- 28:23Speaker 3: to me, complacency kills my joy.
- 28:26Speaker 1: No, do you do you think the older you've gotten,
- 28:29Speaker 1: that success has changed for you or is it always
- 28:33Speaker 1: just been it's never enough.
- 28:37Speaker 4: I think I don't know.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I think I can be harder.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I at least can look in more and see where
- 28:44Speaker 3: it is that I am being an asshole or I'm
- 28:47Speaker 3: taking things too far where I don't think I had
- 28:49Speaker 3: that lens earlier in life.
- 28:52Speaker 1: That comes with age, and so I.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Think that part has changed. But no, I mean there's never.
- 28:58Speaker 3: A day that I don't wake up and want to
- 29:02Speaker 3: work harder, make more money, get more downloads, like it
- 29:05Speaker 3: doesn't make sure my kids are And I'm the same
- 29:08Speaker 3: way with my kids.
- 29:09Speaker 4: My kids, yes you are, they're happy, they've.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Got you know, like all of that. And I'm the
- 29:13Speaker 3: same way with my siblings.
- 29:16Speaker 1: She's like that with me too. So, hud, let's dig
- 29:27Speaker 1: into your time at Claim of Fame when you were
- 29:29Speaker 1: asked to do the show. First of all, how did
- 29:32Speaker 1: you get cast? And did you have any hesitation?
- 29:36Speaker 5: I was reached out through Instagram, so you know, it's
- 29:39Speaker 5: always a little hesitand do on there just going through
- 29:41Speaker 5: a DM and be like, oh yeah, I've got an
- 29:43Speaker 5: opportunity for you in it on Instagram. So I thought
- 29:46Speaker 5: it was a little weird, but I asked you exited.
- 29:48Speaker 1: To me, well, are you the type that has an
- 29:51Speaker 1: agent and you want to be in the entertainment business
- 29:53Speaker 1: like your sister or no.
- 29:55Speaker 5: For a while I thought like, I'm more low profile,
- 29:59Speaker 5: But then I've done it couple things with Teddy, and
- 30:01Speaker 5: I did a couple of things in LA. I think
- 30:03Speaker 5: it would be a cool thing to do, but not
- 30:05Speaker 5: all the time, like I like the competition style, like
- 30:08Speaker 5: where you're going in and doing something for a cent
- 30:11Speaker 5: amount of time instead of just a continuous, always there,
- 30:14Speaker 5: always cameraed up, always mike'd up thing.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Let's remember that Hud was part of the demise of
- 30:20Speaker 3: myself and Lisa vander Pump because he was on vander
- 30:25Speaker 3: Pump Rules that statement.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Wait a minute, back it up, sister, give us the
- 30:33Speaker 1: give us the tea.
- 30:35Speaker 3: So before Lucy Lucy Apple Juicy, all that scandal, Hud
- 30:41Speaker 3: had moved to LA and I had asked Alex Baskin, Uh, huh,
- 30:46Speaker 3: do you guys have any space on vander Pump Rules.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Who's Alex Baskin? For us normies that don't know.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Well, okay, he produces the Housewives and he produces vander
- 30:56Speaker 3: Pump Rules, The Valley and all those shows, and he
- 30:59Speaker 3: was said, actually maybe, but you'd have to ask Lisa
- 31:02Speaker 3: vander Pump on camera. So I went on vander Pump Rules,
- 31:07Speaker 3: asked about my brother, and then you know, Hud not auditioned,
- 31:12Speaker 3: but had meetings to whatever.
- 31:15Speaker 4: Would you end up becoming a bus boy?
- 31:17Speaker 5: Yeah? I was working.
- 31:19Speaker 1: How old were you?
- 31:22Speaker 5: That was a while ago? I think probably six years ago.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Hud, what is that meeting like? And you're like, hey,
- 31:28Speaker 2: we want to put you in the show.
- 31:29Speaker 4: But it was on camera.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Yea was like a job interview, like hey we want
- 31:34Speaker 2: you as a busboy or was there more than that?
- 31:36Speaker 2: It was not just a bus boy.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Like, oh, I was blessing dude, I was working with
- 31:41Speaker 5: I was carrying ice up and down. They have a
- 31:42Speaker 5: couple of stairs staircases in that place. I'm hanging over
- 31:46Speaker 5: my head. Yeah, I was working. I actually assembled half
- 31:49Speaker 5: the restaurant was screwdrivers and me and a couple other guys.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Okay, I had different ideas what I thought it was
- 31:54Speaker 3: going to be for Hud than what it ended up being.
- 31:58Speaker 1: So did you get paid for the show or you
- 32:00Speaker 1: just get you paid for by Lisa.
- 32:01Speaker 5: Vanner pump I got paid to the restaurant.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, did you get paid Yeah?
- 32:08Speaker 4: On time?
- 32:09Speaker 2: Did she pay you.
- 32:11Speaker 5: For some restaurants to get everything in the order?
- 32:13Speaker 3: I think, uh huh, look at his face.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Liar, So you're brought out to actually work in the
- 32:21Speaker 2: restaurant not be on the show or was it a
- 32:24Speaker 2: dual combination? Like I don't understand that world.
- 32:27Speaker 5: I was in a couple We filmed a couple of things.
- 32:29Speaker 5: It was miked up a couple of times, but there
- 32:31Speaker 5: was a large, large majority was me actually working?
- 32:33Speaker 3: Okay, well, if you would have started a relationship with
- 32:37Speaker 3: what like, it's up to them to get themselves in
- 32:41Speaker 3: the mix. So I kept being like, I mean I
- 32:43Speaker 3: think Shena was single. Then I was like, you better
- 32:45Speaker 3: work it with Shena, like get it done?
- 32:48Speaker 2: Well? How do you how do you take that? So
- 32:50Speaker 2: here's your sister saying like, hey, go shack up with
- 32:52Speaker 2: this girl so you get more camera time, which I
- 32:55Speaker 2: guess to be developed on the show is the move.
- 32:57Speaker 2: But how did that feel to you? Like did you
- 32:59Speaker 2: want to.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Do probably four or five weeks of just set up
- 33:02Speaker 5: for the restaurant, like it wasn't finished yet. Like we
- 33:05Speaker 5: were literally putting together chairs and hanging lights.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Oh, it was when it first opened, so it was.
- 33:11Speaker 5: A different shift once they started filming and everything, and
- 33:14Speaker 5: then it was so busy that I would I felt bad,
- 33:17Speaker 5: like if I was neglecting my duty, so I could
- 33:19Speaker 5: go try and hit on some people that are going
- 33:22Speaker 5: to get me more camera time because they're not bringing
- 33:24Speaker 5: an extra guy if I'm not just doing the work.
- 33:26Speaker 1: So that sounds like a hard worker.
- 33:28Speaker 5: It's like I have. If I'm tell someone I'm gonna
- 33:31Speaker 5: do something, I'm to try to do to the rest
- 33:33Speaker 5: of my abilities.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Now does Claim to Fame require as much strategy as
- 33:39Speaker 1: Big Brother? There was a lot of strategy into it
- 33:42Speaker 1: or is it just was it mental or just physical?
- 33:46Speaker 5: There's a lot of strategy the like a lot of
- 33:49Speaker 5: it's a lot of social stuff as well. Like I
- 33:51Speaker 5: came in thinking I'm done immediately. I don't know anything.
- 33:56Speaker 5: Unless it's all physical stuff, I can't figure it out.
- 33:58Speaker 5: And there's been spelling bees every time. Dad dyslexic.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Oh, that sounds horrible.
- 34:07Speaker 5: It's like a physical aspect of the spelling bee, which
- 34:10Speaker 5: is good. But a lot of it was just trying
- 34:13Speaker 5: to make friends show that I'm actually working, like being
- 34:16Speaker 5: at the clue wall, sitting there trying to take notes,
- 34:18Speaker 5: figured everything out, putting together all these clues that we have,
- 34:21Speaker 5: and then trying to work with other people to get
- 34:23Speaker 5: more clues, kind of get an idea who someone is,
- 34:26Speaker 5: just so we're not just all going out there blind
- 34:28Speaker 5: all the time.
- 34:29Speaker 1: How many episodes are there? Just wondering for myself because
- 34:32Speaker 1: now that I watched one, I'm gonna have to watch
- 34:34Speaker 1: all of them because now I'm curious who is Who'll.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Say eight, but it could be could? I want to say,
- 34:40Speaker 5: I have one question.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I know I'm not the host of this show, but
- 34:43Speaker 3: I need to know if you made out with Mackenzie.
- 34:46Speaker 1: What, Oh, all of a sudden did you.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Make out with?
- 34:52Speaker 5: Oh? We got One of the first things they told
- 34:54Speaker 5: us is it's not that type of show.
- 34:58Speaker 1: But you just didn't answer question.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Me and McKenzie are really good friends, and she actually
- 35:03Speaker 5: came down to farm Maid with all the other people,
- 35:06Speaker 5: and uh, we had a good time. And I get
- 35:08Speaker 5: she only lives a couple hours away from your so
- 35:09Speaker 5: I'm gonna go see you probably pretty soon.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Still a non answer answer.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I'm going to take that as a yes, I'm not,
- 35:18Speaker 1: but that's.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Race is bright red all of a sudden. But I
- 35:25Speaker 4: don't know why.
- 35:26Speaker 1: No, no, if there was one thing you can change
- 35:28Speaker 1: about your gameplay, but you did pretty well, so you
- 35:31Speaker 1: probably wouldn't want changed much. Would there be anything that
- 35:33Speaker 1: you would have changed?
- 35:37Speaker 5: Probably just trying to focus on Adam or I thought
- 35:39Speaker 5: he was going to get himself out sooner. But I
- 35:41Speaker 5: also like Adam a lot. I just I don't think
- 35:45Speaker 5: I would have got to Michael Bolton as quickly as
- 35:47Speaker 5: to the end of the end of the season.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I think, so it's Michael Bolton's son. Well, they really like,
- 35:53Speaker 1: I have to say, three cousins removed.
- 35:55Speaker 3: I think it's almost a little unfair that, like some
- 35:58Speaker 3: people are you know, the direct right and then and
- 36:02Speaker 3: then people are like five removed.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I'm I'm like a descendant of Maria an Quinette or
- 36:08Speaker 1: whatever her name is. I think I can get on
- 36:10Speaker 1: that show.
- 36:11Speaker 4: No, because she can't make a video for you when
- 36:13Speaker 4: you get kicked out.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Oh my god, was it hard to watch yourself on TV?
- 36:27Speaker 5: There was a couple of moments where I was like,
- 36:29Speaker 5: you look, you look silly here. But a lot of
- 36:32Speaker 5: things I stand by everything I did. A couple of
- 36:35Speaker 5: times I was trying to do a bit if they
- 36:37Speaker 5: cut out, thankfully, I was trying to do that what's
- 36:39Speaker 5: up brother all the time.
- 36:45Speaker 2: They probably they don't They probably don't know sketch. I
- 36:47Speaker 2: know you, I know what. You let me ask you
- 36:49Speaker 2: this when when you're in there, was there an element
- 36:52Speaker 2: of like you're kind of with your people that you're
- 36:55Speaker 2: like descendants of, like other famous people. Was there any
- 36:59Speaker 2: like did you guys bond over that at all? Or
- 37:01Speaker 2: was it just not part of the deal.
- 37:03Speaker 5: It's definitely something that a lot of people don't have
- 37:05Speaker 5: a grasp on. It's like if there's that mutual thing
- 37:09Speaker 5: that you guys all share, it's not you don't have
- 37:12Speaker 5: to talk about it much. You're not like, oh well,
- 37:14Speaker 5: how was it doing this? I wasn't doing That's like, oh,
- 37:16Speaker 5: you know, we can just skip that partner just be
- 37:20Speaker 5: rick regular friends.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Well as someone that that has hasn't gone through that.
- 37:25Speaker 2: When you when you get this offer, is there any
- 37:28Speaker 2: point in your head where I'm like, Okay, the only
- 37:30Speaker 2: reason I'm getting this is because of my dad? And
- 37:32Speaker 2: then how do you like move forward from that? Because
- 37:35Speaker 2: clearly you're your own individual with your own passions, but as.
- 37:38Speaker 1: It we don't never bothered you.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you? How do you deal with that?
- 37:43Speaker 5: So I like to think there's two ways you can
- 37:45Speaker 5: Either you can kind of deal with this. You can
- 37:48Speaker 5: go in a way that you just want to be
- 37:51Speaker 5: your own person. You can cut off everything and really
- 37:54Speaker 5: drive your own way. That's kind of what I do
- 37:56Speaker 5: with boxing. It's just me in the ring like that.
- 37:58Speaker 5: I was the only guy that could and influence that.
- 38:01Speaker 5: But it also opens up a lot of great doors
- 38:03Speaker 5: for me and we kind of foolish out to accept
- 38:06Speaker 5: the blessings that I've got.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great way to look at it. I
- 38:10Speaker 1: could just say for my kids, they I don't want
- 38:15Speaker 1: any help. Sofia with her music, I don't want any help.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I don't want anything. I want to do it on
- 38:18Speaker 1: my own. And she's like, I build up my TikTok
- 38:21Speaker 1: and I didn't have to use you. And then she
- 38:23Speaker 1: got a little taste of what it's like to be
- 38:24Speaker 1: on TV this season and she has having gifts being
- 38:28Speaker 1: delivered here and she's like, hey, Mom, do you think
- 38:31Speaker 1: you can post this for me? I'm like, uh see,
- 38:34Speaker 1: there is a lot of benefits too, having somebody you
- 38:37Speaker 1: know famous in your family. Nepotism, nepotism and it's finest.
- 38:43Speaker 1: But it never bothered you, did it any age, either
- 38:45Speaker 1: one of you did it bother you that you had
- 38:47Speaker 1: a famous dad.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Every once in a while, I get like bullies out
- 38:51Speaker 5: of the woodwork, but I mean doesn't really affect me
- 38:53Speaker 5: too much. Is always going to be people out there
- 38:55Speaker 5: trying to bring it down to be negative, no matter
- 38:57Speaker 5: if you have a famou set or not.
- 38:58Speaker 3: But I think we grew up very different. I mean
- 39:01Speaker 3: we have to not to age myself. I mean, how
- 39:03Speaker 3: much older am I than you? Hud, Like his mom
- 39:07Speaker 3: is closer to my age than I am to Hud.
- 39:11Speaker 4: So we grew up.
- 39:13Speaker 3: You know, Hud was homeschooled on tour with my dad,
- 39:18Speaker 3: like a.
- 39:19Speaker 4: Completely different way of lifestyle.
- 39:21Speaker 3: I grew up, which was, you know, my parents got
- 39:23Speaker 3: divorced and I moved.
- 39:25Speaker 1: What age you and your parents got divorced today?
- 39:27Speaker 4: Third grade?
- 39:28Speaker 1: So you were pretty young, so.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Young, and so I I.
- 39:32Speaker 3: You know, I would go to my dad's concerts, but
- 39:33Speaker 3: I didn't live on the road.
- 39:35Speaker 4: I went to a regular school.
- 39:37Speaker 3: My dad lived in Indian Like if you live in
- 39:39Speaker 3: Indiana and your dad's John Mellencamp people are when you
- 39:44Speaker 3: live in Hilthead Island, South Carolina, which is where I lived,
- 39:47Speaker 3: Like they'd.
- 39:48Speaker 4: Say it the first time.
- 39:48Speaker 3: They'd be like oh, and then they kind of get
- 39:50Speaker 3: over it. But like he is, to use your favorite word, camera,
- 39:54Speaker 3: he's an icon. He's a legend in Indiana, so had
- 39:57Speaker 3: to kind of constantly live.
- 39:59Speaker 1: That live in that shadow for sure? Was there any
- 40:04Speaker 1: weirdness between the two of you because you were being
- 40:07Speaker 1: how how long were you living with your dad? Was
- 40:09Speaker 1: it most of your young Liar?
- 40:12Speaker 4: Do you live now, Hud?
- 40:13Speaker 5: I live right down the street from John.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Down the street where in Indiana?
- 40:19Speaker 2: Right?
- 40:19Speaker 4: But like how many steps.
- 40:21Speaker 1: On his property?
- 40:22Speaker 2: Yes?
- 40:26Speaker 1: Did that ever cause any jealousy with you, Teddy, that
- 40:28Speaker 1: Hud had your dad full time?
- 40:30Speaker 4: No?
- 40:33Speaker 1: No, I didn't want to.
- 40:36Speaker 4: I feel like I was there just enough.
- 40:38Speaker 1: You know, that's kind of like it's own reality competition
- 40:41Speaker 1: show in itself.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Yes, did you guys ever encounter people where you could
- 40:45Speaker 2: like sense that they were just trying to get close
- 40:47Speaker 2: to you, to get to your dad or whatever sphere
- 40:51Speaker 2: they can penetrate, And did you guys have like a
- 40:54Speaker 2: radar and how you can suss those people out.
- 40:58Speaker 5: For me, it's all the time, always going to be
- 41:00Speaker 5: someone on the street, but it's never No one's ever
- 41:02Speaker 5: been very crafty.
- 41:04Speaker 4: About it yet.
- 41:05Speaker 3: And the amount of people that say they're related to us. Yeah,
- 41:09Speaker 3: Like I was getting yoga clothes the other day and
- 41:13Speaker 3: the guy like ringing me up. He's like, yeah, just
- 41:15Speaker 3: so you know, my grandpa was your dad's cousin. And
- 41:20Speaker 3: I'm like, oh really, And then I called my dad
- 41:22Speaker 3: and I'm like, hey, Dad, or we related to whatever?
- 41:25Speaker 3: Joe Schmo and he's like, never met him, don't know it.
- 41:28Speaker 3: And I was like and I just looked at the
- 41:30Speaker 3: guy and I was like, I think graps may lie
- 41:32Speaker 3: to you.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, the wrong. Mellencamp did.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Try to get backstage because they had their idea, said
- 41:41Speaker 5: John Mellencamp on it and like, we're your cousin. I
- 41:44Speaker 5: was like, we do have a cousin named John Mellencamp,
- 41:46Speaker 5: but I know him very well.
- 41:51Speaker 4: You ain't him.
- 41:52Speaker 3: And HUD also runs like my Dad's tour and fan
- 41:56Speaker 3: Experience and all that kind of stuff. So if you're
- 42:00Speaker 3: ever going to one of my Dad's shows, look for
- 42:02Speaker 3: HUD because He's the one that pulls you forward if
- 42:05Speaker 3: there's going to be a guest on stage, like, HUD's
- 42:07Speaker 3: the guy to know. And do you also want to
- 42:09Speaker 3: talk about your whiskey?
- 42:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I see that in the background.
- 42:14Speaker 5: I've got a partnership with Heart Truth out here in Indiana.
- 42:18Speaker 5: We've started a Mellencamp whiskey we're doing right now. We
- 42:20Speaker 5: are about to launch our third of limited release of
- 42:25Speaker 5: our whiskey here. I'm on the twenty eighth.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Oh congratulations.
- 42:28Speaker 4: And where do people buy it?
- 42:30Speaker 5: You can buy it in thirty states, but we're all
- 42:33Speaker 5: right now. We're doing a partnership with Reserve Bar so
- 42:36Speaker 5: they can do We're doing a pre order right now,
- 42:39Speaker 5: but you can just buy it online in pretty much
- 42:41Speaker 5: any state. Develop let you do it. You can go
- 42:43Speaker 5: to Mellencamp whiskey dot com.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Well, in closing, I have one final question, Hud can
- 42:49Speaker 1: you sing? Because I know Teddy Camp? Well she can't.
- 42:52Speaker 1: She's actually not too bad. You did you get the vocals?
- 42:56Speaker 5: I'm the most stage right guy. Like, even if I could,
- 43:00Speaker 5: I wouldn't. It wouldn't show him body.
- 43:03Speaker 1: So you don't sit around on Thanksgiving and your dad
- 43:07Speaker 1: plays guitar or whatever, and you guys.
- 43:08Speaker 5: Sing, try not We try not to.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Try not to. Really we played pool.
- 43:14Speaker 5: Yeah remember that time we were talking about the Thanksgiving
- 43:17Speaker 5: and in tears or football. We're not seeing it cool
- 43:19Speaker 5: by eye after.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Yeah, not a bonding experience.
- 43:24Speaker 3: After we have a five hour cool down before we
- 43:26Speaker 3: all kill each other.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Right, So none of you kids sing not well, not
- 43:32Speaker 1: well wow? Interesting?
- 43:36Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 43:38Speaker 1: Hold, but spec spec are what our HUDs.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Our youngest sibling he is artistic, so he at least
- 43:46Speaker 3: has that, Like he's a beautiful painter, and my dad's
- 43:50Speaker 3: also a painter, so he got some artistic jeans. But
- 43:54Speaker 3: the rest of us, nah, just hard headed douchebags.
- 44:00Speaker 2: One more Selvis question for hud Hut. We know, like
- 44:03Speaker 2: what shows Teddy would want to go on? Is there
- 44:05Speaker 2: one that's out there right now? I'd be like, Dan,
- 44:07Speaker 2: this is if I could be on the show tomorrow
- 44:09Speaker 2: and compete, this is what I want to do.
- 44:11Speaker 5: I think what I came out, I think it was amazing.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Raise me and Teddy dominate.
- 44:16Speaker 3: And if that doesn't happen, I'm formally putting him up
- 44:20Speaker 3: for Love Island, because yeah, you want to see the
- 44:25Speaker 3: other side to hud you watch him in his dating life.
- 44:29Speaker 4: I told him you just better do some setups, buddy,
- 44:31Speaker 4: because if you get on this show, it would be
- 44:34Speaker 4: TV gold.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Well, we got to make that happen.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you're like one person removed from that,
- 44:41Speaker 2: Like the person that casts Traders is also in charge
- 44:43Speaker 2: of Love Island.
- 44:44Speaker 3: So well, both of you guys were on Traders, so
- 44:48Speaker 3: hook a brother up up.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I could see you going on you it'd be.
- 44:54Speaker 2: A great placement. And then like me said, sorry, I
- 44:57Speaker 2: don't want to go down the rabbit hole. But if
- 44:58Speaker 2: you're on the island, are you telling people? Are you
- 45:01Speaker 2: just like under the radar?
- 45:03Speaker 5: Well, my strategy for coming into Claim to Fame was
- 45:06Speaker 5: just trying to be under the radar and then start
- 45:09Speaker 5: making moves. One day they came there like we love
- 45:13Speaker 5: to try, and I was like, let's go the same way.
- 45:17Speaker 5: Just try to make friends, try and you know, figure
- 45:19Speaker 5: out everyone's personalities, try and get in a little closer,
- 45:22Speaker 5: and then start laying the hammer literally and physically.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Nap.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Oh my god. Well, thank you guys so much for
- 45:32Speaker 1: coming on talking a big game in Tuddy. I feel
- 45:34Speaker 1: like I just talked to you an hour ago.
- 45:36Speaker 3: We talked multiple times today already, but I'm so glad
- 45:39Speaker 3: I could see you guys again.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yes, and we just want to thank you so much
- 45:44Speaker 1: for taking your time, hut, thank.
- 45:45Speaker 5: You for having me on here. Guys. This is a
- 45:47Speaker 5: lot of fun and me and Teddy.
- 45:48Speaker 1: You're gonna get your next job, yeah, guys, Thank you. Bye.
