What does it actually look like to live as someone who has been made new?

In Colossians 3, Paul gives us a picture of the transformed Christian life by telling us to “put on” a new way of living. Like adding layers as the seasons change, we are called to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, then hold it all together with love.

But this isn't about simply trying harder to become a better person. These qualities flow from knowing who we already are in Christ. We are chosen. We are dearly loved. That identity becomes the foundation for genuine humility…
