- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Sure, you're going to change their feed just by looking at it, and you're going to walk away with this.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: You're going to walk away with not realizing, or actually realizing for the first time that maybe you weren't as aligned with them as you thought.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And if you're in my generation, nobody cares about us at this point.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: If you're a boomer or an Xer, no offense, all you younger folks, and you know what, you got your place too.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Nobody cares about you either.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: But, you know, we're we're kind of on the outer rim of this thing.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: You're like, well, you already had your life.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: You should be out there and go out to pasture.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of us folks that uh we're not ready.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: And every cop that I've ever buried, the ones that have retired after 30 and 40 years on the job, and I was LAPD, and I'm honorarily retired, that means no money's coming in.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: But whole other story.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: However, these folks don't last very long after they retire.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Same with firemen, same with EMTs, same with teachers.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: They just don't last very long.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: And I think it has to do a lot with vision.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Not they're going blind, but they don't have any vision to know what it's like not to be in that world.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Because when you're in that world as a cop or whatever it is, that's your full identity.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: And they talk about that with AI.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Like, well, people aren't going to be able to make make the transition to going from having jobs to no jobs and everything's taken care of.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I'm going to be just fine.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Don't you worry.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: I'm going to do that, that, uh, the what are those uh the graveyard stones?
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I'm going to do rubbings on those.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I want to try that.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: I saw that in a movie years and years ago.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I think that'd be good.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Or learn how to write Sanskrit, or maybe cover myself with more tattoos.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: But I'm sure I'll figure something out.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Traveling might be not bad.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And when I get tired of traveling, maybe going and written an RV, because everything's going to be practically free, and driving that RV around to every single RV spot all over the world, learning that game.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And then after a couple years of that, then something else.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: You see, there's plenty to do.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: You go talk to other people that are now RVing that they've never RV'd.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Who knows what that world's like?
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: But that might be kind of fun.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not stuck in my identity.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Nice to meet you.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: I'm not stuck as a retired LEP, ex-LAP.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I didn't even say it.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: God, I talked to so many people.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: That's still their identity.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: And you probably know those folks too.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Maybe you are one, and there's nothing wrong with it.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: But right now, as we're dealing with not a crisis of intelligence, but an overabundance of intelligence that's been created, they're talking about it's gonna be a little rough.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: But not for them, potentially.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Their roughness might be having to watch us gladiator fight for a piece of salami.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: That might be the roughness.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Maybe they don't want to like.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Maybe they don't want to see me in chain mail.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: I don't want to see me in chain mail.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: It's really rough.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Anyway, it doesn't matter.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: But maybe that's kind of that mindset, right?
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: They're worried about what's going to happen to the rest of us.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Well, then we should maybe have that conversation.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: You have your moonshots, you have this offering for people to save the whales and save the dolphins and say, well, the human beings, I think, are kind of an important part of this planet.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Yes, we're horrible.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Yes, we've probably done horrible things.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And you can look at the historical record as well.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Some people blame religion, not relationships, but religion, doing bad things.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: We're also facing that crisis right now with particular religions out there as well.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: And there's people on both sides of it.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Some say everybody's peaceful, some say everybody's going to take over the world.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: It's going to be up to us as individuals to watch out for this and make those decisions ourselves here.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So, where does that leave us?
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Well, it leaves us in kind of a pickle because we didn't ask for this stuff.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: We didn't ask for it to be built.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And I love the people at the top, they're all wonderful.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: I love the people at the bottom, I'm one of them, and here we are.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: What's that next step for all of us?
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Well, you can call your congressman.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: I guess that's a way.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: You can vote.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: That's the way.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: It seems like the powers that be, even on both sides, none of them really want to tie up with it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: And I just said a moment ago that R of social media is almost a, I didn't say this, but I kind of meant it.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: It's it's it kind of twists you in a certain way.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: If you don't have a written-down rule book, or you're not of a generation that has the rules in the sound that they will not cross no matter what, you'll never bow a knee to somebody else, even with a gun to your head.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: You'll never do these things.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Let's say you're one of those people that have these hard-based rules of your life, which I think is the best way to live.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: There's not very many of us left in that world.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: But if you do have your rule book that helps you when it's dealing with all the things you see, all the social media posts.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: And if you're if you're curious about how this whole thing works, and I think it's a lovely experiment, go find somebody you think you know, somebody that's close to you.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: And then now be weary with this because even asking the question creates a little bit of hostility.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: If you go to your wife or your husband or your brother, your sister, or mother or father, or whomever's close to you, and you think you know them, and you say, hey, listen, you mind if I scroll through your feed for 10, 15 minutes?
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: You might I won't comment, I won't heart, I just I won't look at whatever the hell it is you do on there, because it's a very private thing.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: But can I just can I just go through a little bit?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: So, and you think you know them.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: What's very and don't heart, don't swipe, don't do anything, don't, you're gonna do plenty by lingering differently than they linger.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: So when they get their phone back or whatever it is they do they use for scrolling or looking through social media posts, you're gonna they're gonna see that it changed because you're hanging on certain pictures, your eyeballs are moving at certain places, and I don't know if there's camera integration in some of these things, and they're not telling us, but there's a lot broken down in there.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: There's probably ways to tell the heat on the page.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: I don't know how it all works, but for sure you're gonna change their feed just by looking at it, and you're gonna walk away with this.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: You're gonna walk away with not realizing, or actually realizing for the first time that maybe you weren't as aligned with them as you thought.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Take that with a real grain of salt, please, because I don't want people breaking up or fighting over it, but it is gonna be a very different thing.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: You look at somebody else's feed and spend 10 minutes, set a timer, tell your serial, whatever, whatever your favorite thing is, set a timer for 10 minutes and go look at them.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: And it's very different.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: And let them do the same with yours.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: I think that's that's a nice little trade.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: And uh it's kind of weird.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: You you didn't expect I didn't know you like feet that much.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: I didn't know you had a thing for for soft, cushiony toilet paper with that new uh that new tear thing that doesn't have the string on it.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: And I I didn't know if you would paint pictures, they'd be of flowers.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: I had no idea.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: You like that artist guy with the fro?
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: You just don't know.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: You don't know anybody, but AI knows every one of us very personally, and that's what's integrated into those systems.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: So if you have a set of rules, then it's gonna be more difficult to pull you off target.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: My set of rules is the Bible.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: There you go, I said it.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: And and that's that's that keeps me grounded.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Does that mean that I can't be pulled away?
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Well, I I would hope that helps.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Whether you believe it or don't believe it, whether they come to me tomorrow, I like the structure.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: I like many aspects of it.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: I like the alignment, I like the love our neighbors as ourselves, I like love, love thy neighbor as that first great commandment, love God, I like that.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I like the higher power that's uh um immutable, no, yeah, immutable, omniscient, and omnipresent.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: I like all knowing, I like that.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I I need something that will always be above any kind of a synthetic intelligence.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Anything that's gonna be above any kind of an artificial intelligence, that's that's my placeover.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: So that's that's where my alignment comes back to.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: And it works for me.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: So that there's that.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I don't go out, I'm not on the corner screaming in a loudspeaker, I'm not saying everybody's gonna go to hell.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm not I I have my beliefs, and those are my beliefs.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: If I'm gonna be doing a YouTube here, you don't want to, or a TikTok here, you don't want to, you don't care about my beliefs, really.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: You don't care about my political alignment.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: I'm here to talk about something that that's making me a little bit nervous, the way that people on the other end of this are talking.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: I was a cop long enough.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: I I I I watch some things, I have a tendency to know people, and when people are speaking, it's typically for an agenda.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: There's nothing to buy here.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: You know, if if you want to thumbs up or hard or whatever we do on this one, knock yourself out.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: It's great.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm not here to make billions of dollars.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: I do want to try to bring everybody to the understanding that I think we need to try to save those of us that are going to have an uncomfortable time going through this transition when it comes to artificial intelligence, whether that is wiping out a mass amount of jobs, whether that is the labs needed to monetize something and want to replace entire businesses with what they're growing, whether that is whatever it is.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: I think we need to be smart about this and do it better than is being done, at least have the conversation about it.
