  First Peter chapter 5. Let us pray.

  Oh Father, here we are again, Lord, we just want more of you.

  We want to see you rightly high and lifted up above all of our
• 0:19
  circumstances, over all of our emotions.
• 0:22
  God, I pray that you're the first thing on our mind and the
• 0:27
  last thing on our mind today. I pray as we draw breath, we
• 0:31
  pray and we praise and we are thankful.
• 0:34
  We're thankful for you, God, We're thankful that you are
• 0:37
  loving and kind. We're thankful.
• 0:40
  We are thankful, God, for your Holy Scriptures.
• 0:43
  God, we thank you, Father, for all of the many blessings that
• 0:46
  you have already poured out upon us, for you are worthy to be
• 0:50
  praised. You are high and exalted and
• 0:53
  lifted up over every entity, over every molecule, over every
• 0:59
  single man, woman, and child, over all that we set our minds
• 1:04
  and hearts and eyes upon today. God, you are high and you are
• 1:07
  lifted up and exalted over it all.
• 1:10
  You are the most high. God, you are the only uncreated.
• 1:14
  You are worthy to be praised. And we surrender all.
• 1:18
  We surrender every single thing, God, every breath, every
• 1:23
  thought. God, help us to take it captive.
• 1:26
  Let us not worry about anything. Help us to pray about
• 1:29
  everything. God, help us to rejoice always.
• 1:32
  Help us to pray without ceasing. God, help us to be thankful for
• 1:37
  all the many things that you do for us that are so incredibly
• 1:42
  rich and tapestry, Lord, that we miss them because of how
• 1:47
  intricate they are. But God, I pray that you'll give
• 1:51
  us the mind of Christ to understand everything that's
• 1:54
  going on all around us, Father, that it's all culminating, that
• 1:57
  it's all prophecy. God that you're moving
• 2:00
  everything in full accordance to what you have planned.
• 2:04
  Lord, we get out of our own way. We get out of our own
• 2:08
  understanding. God and we step into the light.
• 2:10
  We step in to who you are. We step into the reality, God,
• 2:15
  that you are the great I am. We thank you for these
• 2:18
  scriptures. God, we thank you for life and
• 2:21
  life abundant. We thank you for family.
• 2:23
  God, we thank you for all the things that you have done, God,
• 2:27
  and just for getting us to this place so that we can worship you
• 2:31
  in spirit and truth. We thank you for the Holy
• 2:33
  Spirit, for the down payment and the deposit for all of eternity.
• 2:37
  God, make us whole, heal our bodies, heal our families.
• 2:42
  Lord, help us to be the high priests of our home.
• 2:45
  Help us to be the ministers of reconciliation in our
• 2:49
  workplaces. God, I love you, we love you.
• 2:52
  King Jesus, come get your glory. We are sold out, laid down
• 2:57
  lovers of Yahweh, Yeshua, and it's in your holy and precious
• 3:04
  name that I pray King Jesus, Amen.
• 3:11
  Well, let's start in verse one, the elders which are among you,
• 3:21
  I exhort, who am also an elder and a witness of the sufferings
• 3:29
  of Christ and also a partaker of the glory that shall be
• 3:35
  revealed. So here Peter, at the very end
• 3:39
  of his epistle, he pulls out some credentials and he wants
• 3:44
  you to know that he actually was there with Christ in the
• 3:47
  sufferings. He denied him three times before
• 3:51
  the rooster crowed. Jesus looked at him, and Peter
• 3:55
  went away and wept bitterly. But he was smart enough and wise
• 3:59
  enough to keep his life long enough for him to be restored.
• 4:04
  And Jesus appeared to him, and he asked him if he loved him,
• 4:07
  and if he loved him, and if he would feed his sheep.
• 4:12
  And you need to understand that Peter here loved our Lord God,
• 4:17
  and he was used mightily. And here we are blessed by His
• 4:23
  obedience to sit and to pin down these words.
• 4:26
  And He lets you know that he was there on the Mount of
• 4:29
  Transfiguration when the Kingdom of God came to the earth for
• 4:33
  that brief second. And we got to see what the
• 4:36
  Millennium is going to look like when you had the raptured Elijah
• 4:41
  there and you had the dead who was given a body there with
• 4:48
  Moses and you had deity there with Jesus.
• 4:51
  And then you had humanity there mixed in with the disciples all
• 4:56
  together, culminating there on Mount Hermon in this
• 4:59
  transfiguration that we can look into, peak and peer into what
• 5:04
  the thousand year reign of Christ is going to look like.
• 5:07
  And Peter here at the end of his first epistle, he pulls all this
• 5:12
  out and he says that he got to see he was a witness of the
• 5:16
  sufferings and a partaker of the glory to feed the flock of God,
• 5:22
  which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by
• 5:28
  constraint, but willingly, not for filthy lucre, but of a ready
• 5:34
  mind. So this is what Jesus told Peter
• 5:37
  to do whenever he reinstituted him on the beach.
• 5:41
  And if you go back and you read that story, look at how Jesus
• 5:46
  was so tender with Peter. Peter was distraught.
• 5:49
  Peter was struck down. Peter was so incredibly upset
• 5:54
  that he had denied his master the very thing that he said he
• 5:58
  would never do, that he would go to death with him.
• 6:01
  But he denied him. He allowed the flesh to to take
• 6:06
  over and what a benefit for us to be able to have the bird's
• 6:15
  eye view to look back and to see that there's hope even for us
• 6:19
  whenever we are not living the right way.
• 6:22
  As long as there's breath in your lungs, friends, it's not
• 6:26
  too late if you messed up yesterday.
• 6:32
  His mercies are new every day and today is the day of
• 6:38
  salvation. Give your life to the Lord today
• 6:43
  and do it every day for the rest of your life.
• 6:46
  And here you can see that He is to feed the flock.
• 6:51
  We are to feed the flock. And we're not to do it for
• 6:54
  selfish, greedy gain as some are in the habit of doing.
• 6:58
  We're not to do it grudgingly. We're not to do it in a mean
• 7:04
  spirited way. We are to do it lovingly.
• 7:08
  We are to do it for God. Three.
• 7:15
  Neither as being Lords over God's heritage, but being
• 7:19
  examples to the flock. How much better is it for us to
• 7:23
  practice what we preach? How much better is it for us to
• 7:26
  actually live it out instead of just talking about it and
• 7:30
  lording it over people? But in your private life, you
• 7:34
  are critical and backbiting. You are negative.
• 7:39
  In your private life. There is no fruit.
• 7:42
  But you sure look the part that is not from God, friends.
• 7:48
  For and when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you will receive a
• 7:53
  crown of glory that fades not away.
• 7:56
  Praise God, Hallelujah, whenever He appears, He's going to give
• 8:00
  us this crown and it doesn't fade away.
• 8:03
  And it is His glory, and He gives it to us, and we lay it
• 8:06
  back down at His feet, but He gives it to us, friends, and we
• 8:11
  get to house and to hold the glory, the Shekinah glory
• 8:15
  shining all around us. Friends, we will rule and reign
• 8:20
  with Him. We are priests and kings to rule
• 8:23
  and reign with Him, Friends, for 1000 years. 5 likewise, you
• 8:29
  younger, submit yourselves unto the elder.
• 8:33
  Yeah, all of you. Be subject 1 to another, and be
• 8:39
  clothed with humility. For God resists the proud and He
• 8:45
  gives grace to the humble. So here, this is accountability
• 8:50
  partners. This is accountability buddies.
• 8:53
  Friends, this is your battle buddy.
• 8:56
  This is somebody that you can go to and share all of your
• 9:01
  shortcomings. Somebody that you can go to and
• 9:04
  you can confess things too. And we do not need to be proud
• 9:10
  and let pride come in and take over and keep us from confessing
• 9:15
  and repenting because we are so prideful.
• 9:18
  Just remember that pride is the original sin that got Lucifer
• 9:23
  kicked out of his heavenly abode.
• 9:25
  Pride is the national religion of Hell, friends.
• 9:29
  It is not becoming of a St. We are to have humility, and the
• 9:35
  root of humility is humiliation. And it is humiliating friends,
• 9:41
  to have to go and to confess and to repent and to tell of the
• 9:46
  times where we missed the mark. But it is what God would have us
• 9:50
  to do. And make sure you're not sharing
• 9:53
  it with somebody who is going to weaponize that information.
• 9:57
  Do it with someone who has humility, who is trustworthy
• 10:03
  friends. And He gives grace to us when we
• 10:07
  humble ourselves. 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the
• 10:13
  mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
• 10:18
  That's the model, friends. We humble ourselves.
• 10:22
  We get level with the gravel. We get low, low, low, and in due
• 10:28
  season and in due time, at the proper time, God lifts you up.
• 10:34
  God will exalt you if you will humble yourself, but God will
• 10:38
  sure humble you if you exalt yourself.
• 10:43
  And that is a foreign concept to this day and this age that tells
• 10:47
  us to be self promoters and self seeking and to have vanity and
• 10:53
  it is prevalent within the church. 7 Cast all your care
• 11:00
  upon him for he cares for you to Do you believe that St.
• 11:04
  Do you believe that he actually cares for you?
• 11:07
  Do you believe that you can actually give him all of your
• 11:10
  cares and that he actually hears your prayers and he'll answer
• 11:13
  your prayers in due season at the proper time when it is the
• 11:18
  exact moment that you need him to come through?
• 11:20
  Do you believe that you can trust God with all of your cares
• 11:24
  or are you still self manipulating?
• 11:27
  Are you still self preserving? Are you still trusting in self
• 11:34
  and in money and mammon and in the government and in the stock
• 11:37
  market? Are you still trusting in your
• 11:41
  own strength? God would have you to give it
• 11:45
  all over to him, every single bit of it, and let him steward
• 11:50
  it and let him raise you up and do time and to take care of all
• 11:56
  of your needs and to give you your food and raiment.
• 12:02
  He tells us in verse 8, Be sober, be vigilant because your
• 12:12
  adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion walks about seeking
• 12:19
  whom he may devour. What a picture, friends.
• 12:25
  He's defamed and declawed. All he has is a roar.
• 12:29
  That's it. And he scares you into fear and
• 12:36
  he gets you to squander your inheritance.
• 12:41
  But we are called to be resolute and steadfast.
• 12:44
  We are called to trust in God and not in the systems of this
• 12:48
  world. And he tells us that we are not
• 12:52
  to be in an altered state of mind.
• 12:55
  We are not to get lazy and LAX friends.
• 13:00
  And this adversary, the devil, could get flicked off of the
• 13:06
  planet in a millisecond, but God has him right where he wants
• 13:16
  him. And this is a hard concept for
• 13:19
  us because if we were God, we would have already crushed the
• 13:22
  head of the serpent. But He allows Him to do what He
• 13:26
  does because it pulls out the things inside of us and gets us
• 13:32
  to reveal the things that we're hiding inside of our hearts. 9
• 13:40
  whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same
• 13:46
  afflictions are accomplished in your brothers that are in the
• 13:49
  world. So there are many all around
• 13:52
  this world that are going through the same things, and
• 13:56
  there is no temptation that has come upon you, but that which is
• 13:59
  common to man. But God knows not to place too
• 14:06
  much upon you, friends, and He gives you a way out.
• 14:11
  He knows exactly what to do to produce the Pearl of great
• 14:15
  price. He knows exactly what to do to
• 14:20
  produce the gold as the pressure comes upon you.
• 14:28
  It's producing diamonds, friends. 10 But the God of all
• 14:38
  grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ
• 14:45
  Jesus, after that you have suffered a while.
• 14:50
  Make you perfect and establish and strengthen and settle you.
• 14:56
  That's the end goal, friends. That is sanctification as a
• 15:02
  whole right there. God wants to settle you.
• 15:05
  He wants to establish you. He wants to bring you into your
• 15:09
  eternal abode. Ready.
• 15:13
  And as the suffering comes, He's already called us into his
• 15:17
  eternal glory. He's given us the Helper.
• 15:20
  And then suffer comes. And He's after perfection,
• 15:24
  friends, and He will have it. And your last day on planet
• 15:29
  Earth is whenever the construction is complete. 11 To
• 15:36
  Him be glory and dominion, forever and ever.
• 15:40
  Amen. His glory radiates and shines
• 15:44
  forth throughout the whole earth, and it is His dominion.
• 15:48
  The whole earth is His, and everything in it, The people and
• 15:53
  all that is in the earth belong to the Lord. 12 By Sylvanus, a
• 16:02
  faithful brother unto you, as I suppose I have written, briefly
• 16:06
  exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God
• 16:12
  wherein you stand. Make sure you are standing firm
• 16:19
  in the faith. Make sure you're not tossed to
• 16:21
  and fro. Make sure you're not wavering by
• 16:24
  every wind of doctrine that's coming your way.
• 16:28
  Make sure you know that Jesus Christ is the only way.
• 16:32
  There is not another way unto the Father.
• 16:35
  Stand in that. 13 The church that is at Babylon elected
• 16:43
  together with you, salute you, and so does Marcus, my son.
• 16:50
  Perhaps this is the Mark that wrote the Gospel of Mark, and
• 16:55
  you can see that he got his material from Peter as Peter and
• 17:00
  him were tight, this band of brothers and he's talking about
• 17:04
  this church that is that Babylon.
• 17:06
  Perhaps this is Rome, perhaps this is actual Babylon, perhaps
• 17:11
  this is Cairo. We don't actually know here, but
• 17:15
  it is nonetheless the world system that will be destroyed in
• 17:20

  and to look into these eternal words spoken of God, the Rhema

  and the Logos? How amazing is this book that we

  hold in our hands? And you don't read it.

  It's reading you. You don't discern it.

  It's discerning you. Hope you've been blessed by this

  amazing chapter in God's Word. I know I sure have.
