- 1:07Speaker 2: most recent Hallmark movie, if you liked it, if you
- 1:10Speaker 2: loved it, if we are wrong about our opinions, whatever,
- 1:14Speaker 2: We're here for you. We're never wrong that you're suggesting.
- 1:21Speaker 1: No, We've been told otherwise several times. As mentioned This
- 1:24Speaker 1: movie is called Love for Real, and we're a little
- 1:30Speaker 1: out of practice, making me but let's start with our
- 1:33Speaker 1: news and notes.
- 1:34Speaker 2: We're supposed to start with a suddnopsis, you're right, which
- 1:39Speaker 2: I don't have pulled up.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Hold on a second, I know it's been several.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Weeks since we've done one of these. Okay, So Love
- 1:46Speaker 2: for Real, Hailey, Hailey b we'll talk about that in
- 1:51Speaker 2: a minute. Haley and her best friend Bree go on
- 1:54Speaker 2: a reality dating show to publicize her fashion line, but
- 1:58Speaker 2: nothing goes as planned when friendship and careers are.
- 2:02Speaker 1: On the line.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Starring Chloe Bridges, Scott Michael Foster, Corbin Blue, Tiana Tully,
- 2:11Speaker 2: and Karen Molina White. That's a big cast. They never
- 2:16Speaker 2: usually list out all those people. Okay, news and notes,
- 2:20Speaker 2: News and notes, Okay, this was.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Filmed on location in Oahu. Now do you think they
- 2:26Speaker 1: were in o Wahu watching this? Like? Did it feel
- 2:30Speaker 1: like they were in Hawaii?
- 2:32Speaker 2: I mean the yeah, I guess why you.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Don't say the time. But I was like, wait a minute,
- 2:38Speaker 1: like where is this little deserted island? And then there
- 2:40Speaker 1: was that final scene with the like the final show scene? Yeah? Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I was like, are they all lake it was so
- 2:51Speaker 1: bissy far and then they said like they filmed on
- 2:53Speaker 1: the north shore, but then there were parts of it.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I was like, what where is there no waves? Anyway,
- 2:58Speaker 1: there were moments I was like, where are they? I
- 3:00Speaker 1: need all of the details about this little deserted island
- 3:03Speaker 1: that they went to. Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I had read that they had filmed in Oahu and
- 3:08Speaker 2: looked at several of their instagrams from o Wahu as well.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But I've never been to o Wahu and all I
- 3:15Speaker 2: know of it is it's it's quite congested and city like,
- 3:20Speaker 2: isn't it?
- 3:20Speaker 1: Or is that in like Waikiki and Honolulu. The rest
- 3:25Speaker 1: of the island is there's lots of the island that
- 3:28Speaker 1: is beautiful and much less city like.
- 3:33Speaker 2: All right, so maybe they had, like some scouted deserted
- 3:36Speaker 2: location for sure, for sure, Yes, Yeah, but I thought,
- 3:42Speaker 2: I mean I didn't, I didn't not go that doesn't
- 3:45Speaker 2: look like Hawaii.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I thought it gave me all this Hawaii. It did
- 3:49Speaker 1: definitely have the Hawaii vibes there. I was just I
- 3:51Speaker 1: have been to o Wahu many times. There is a
- 3:54Speaker 1: portion of Wahoo that we really like, Cala, which is
- 3:57Speaker 1: quiet and beautiful, and I didn't know where they were,
- 4:00Speaker 1: which doesn't mean anything because I'm not an a Wahu expert.
- 4:04Speaker 1: All right, did kind of make me want to go
- 4:06Speaker 1: to Hawaii? I will tell you that. Let's talk a
- 4:08Speaker 1: little bit about the stars of this, all right. So
- 4:12Speaker 1: Scott Michael Foster, who plays Luke. The whole time I'm
- 4:17Speaker 1: watching this, I'm like, who is that? What is he in?
- 4:19Speaker 1: So I go digging through his IMDb. He's in quite
- 4:21Speaker 1: a bit. But you know what my brain was holding
- 4:23Speaker 1: on to was that he was cappy on Greek? Did
- 4:26Speaker 1: you ever watch Greek? I tried.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I tried to revisit it actually earlier this summer, and
- 4:31Speaker 2: I just couldn't get it. It was like that early
- 4:33Speaker 2: two thousand timeframe. I just couldn't revisit it.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I watched it when it was on in real time,
- 4:38Speaker 1: every episode, and so I have deep cappy memories. So
- 4:43Speaker 1: if you were a Greek fan, you can get your
- 4:46Speaker 1: cappy fix on Love for real.
- 4:49Speaker 2: What else has he been in?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Well, guess what? Once upon a time he played Christoph.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Oh god, I was just gonna I was going to
- 4:57Speaker 2: say that, but then you've talked about Greek, and I
- 4:59Speaker 2: was like, oh, that's it's not where she was going.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So No, but he's been honestly, I didn't write down
- 5:04Speaker 1: the rest. His IMDb page is deep. There is quite
- 5:07Speaker 1: a bit that he has been in. Interesting. But what
- 5:10Speaker 1: else you got?
- 5:11Speaker 2: Chloe Bridges who plays Haley. I don't know much about her,
- 5:15Speaker 2: but she is engaged to Adam. Adam divine is how
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna say his name. He's from pitch Perfect. I
- 5:23Speaker 2: don't remember. I don't remember his name on pitch Perfect Deeper. Okay,
- 5:28Speaker 2: he's been in a lot of things, hasn't he? Or
- 5:31Speaker 2: is he only known for pitch Perfect?
- 5:33Speaker 1: That's a good question, I know. Do you know what
- 5:37Speaker 1: Corbin Blue is most well known for?
- 5:40Speaker 2: No, And I was trying to place him when I
- 5:42Speaker 2: was watching this yesterday, Hi School Musical. Oh my god,
- 5:49Speaker 2: that's what it is. That is what it is? Yep,
- 5:52Speaker 2: Oh my god, Oh my god, that's so funny. I
- 5:57Speaker 2: was thinking he I might have seen him in like
- 6:00Speaker 2: another Hallmark movie, and I was confusing him with the
- 6:03Speaker 2: actor who was in that Christmas Museum movie. I don't
- 6:08Speaker 2: even remember what it was.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I know who you're talking about.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yes, Like they kind of look alike but have similar faces.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but it.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Definitely was not him. Yeah, I couldn't play some high
- 6:18Speaker 2: school musical. Hmm.
- 6:22Speaker 1: All right, then, all right, do you have anything else
- 6:25Speaker 1: for news and notes? No? I don't. All right, let's
- 6:28Speaker 1: hop to first impressions. All right.
- 6:30Speaker 2: My first impression is I kind of like this movie.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Maybe, thank you Hallmark for this gift of a movie.
- 6:38Speaker 1: This was the perfect welcome back to our Hallmark movie discussions.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It was so fun. I liked it right away. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: mean to tell that there was something a little bit
- 6:48Speaker 1: different about this. I really enjoyed it.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I liked it too. It was nice, and maybe I
- 6:54Speaker 2: just thought like I wasn't as burned out watching Hallmark
- 6:57Speaker 2: movies because we've had such a break. But I liked
- 7:01Speaker 2: it too from from go, like you know, usually like
- 7:05Speaker 2: I'll turn it on and I don't really pay attention
- 7:06Speaker 2: to it, and then I go, oh, I gotta I
- 7:08Speaker 2: gotta watch this, and then but no, it kept me
- 7:12Speaker 2: captivated the whole two hours.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yes, what specifically did we like about this movie?
- 7:18Speaker 2: Hold on you go?
- 7:21Speaker 1: First? Well, I'm gonna start with the obvious. Loved the location.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I it's the perfect summer setting. I love a Hawaii
- 7:28Speaker 1: set movie. I thought the settings were beautiful. One of
- 7:33Speaker 1: my favorite things about this movie is that they made
- 7:35Speaker 1: almost no attempt to differentiate this fake dating show from
- 7:39Speaker 1: the Bachelor slash Bachelorette. I mean, it was a straight knockoff.
- 7:44Speaker 1: They didn't try and pretend it was something different. They
- 7:47Speaker 1: swapped roses for hearts, and that was really it. And
- 7:51Speaker 1: I appreciated that, let's let's not try and pretend this
- 7:54Speaker 1: is something that's not.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Well, it's so funny because yes, I agree that there
- 7:58Speaker 2: was like Bachelor Bachelorette, you know, vibes there, but there
- 8:02Speaker 2: also was like a little touch of a Love Island,
- 8:05Speaker 2: which I know you don't watch, but I watch, and
- 8:07Speaker 2: that show like they'll bring in people like mid mid season,
- 8:11Speaker 2: you know, to like stir up the cast a little bit.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So that's what I thought, or or or a Bachelor
- 8:17Speaker 2: in Paradise kind of does the same thing.
- 8:20Speaker 1: You know, they'll bring people in, you know, to.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Shake things up.
- 8:23Speaker 1: So I really like that.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But I also it really reminded me of a show
- 8:30Speaker 2: that I really really really liked, and it was called Unreal.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And oh I love that show, right.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Because you saw like behind the fourth wall of like
- 8:40Speaker 2: the production side of things, and so you got a
- 8:43Speaker 2: touch of that too. It wasn't just we weren't just
- 8:46Speaker 2: watching like a reality dating show. We saw like the
- 8:50Speaker 2: behind the scenes stuff of it. So, yeah, that's what
- 8:53Speaker 2: I liked all about. Those are the reasons why I
- 8:55Speaker 2: really like this movie.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I had that same thought, especially when Luke was
- 8:59Speaker 1: feeding Marco lines through a head piece. I immediately thought
- 9:02Speaker 1: of that show because the producers on that show do
- 9:05Speaker 1: the same thing. Producers, I'm not sure one of the
- 9:08Speaker 1: staff on that show does the same thing to their leads.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I loved Marie, who's played by Karen Melina White. She's
- 9:16Speaker 1: the first a d I thought she had the best
- 9:19Speaker 1: lines in the movie. I thought she had incredible comedic timing.
- 9:22Speaker 1: She was fun to watch. Loved her. She was my
- 9:25Speaker 1: favorite character in the whole movie.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I thought she was really funny too. And speaking of
- 9:30Speaker 2: comedic timing, I thought that the girl Chloe Bridges who
- 9:33Speaker 2: played Haley had some good comedic timing too. I really
- 9:36Speaker 2: liked her. Yes, I thought she was Quippi. I had
- 9:39Speaker 2: never seen her. I've never seen her in anything I
- 9:42Speaker 2: don't know, and I like her. Like put her in
- 9:45Speaker 2: more homemark movies because I thought she was She actually
- 9:48Speaker 2: reminded me a lot of Anne Hathaway. Oh yes, but
- 9:53Speaker 2: like Anne Hathaway, The Princess Diaries, Anne Hathaway, you know
- 9:57Speaker 2: what I'm talking about.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Like she's got that Anne Hathway. Lim is rud or like.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Early devil worst problems, kind of like a mess, but
- 10:11Speaker 2: like not, I don't, I don't.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Know, it's hard to explain she's got. She's got a.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Julia Roberts mouth to me, like she's got like beautiful
- 10:18Speaker 2: full lips and like great teeth. And yeah, there was
- 10:21Speaker 2: just something about her voice though that really reminded me
- 10:24Speaker 2: of Anne Hathaway. But I really enjoyed her, and I
- 10:28Speaker 2: thought it was so funny because her character's name is Haley,
- 10:31Speaker 2: and if you watch any of these reality dating shows,
- 10:34Speaker 2: there's always like two Haley's or two Lindsay's or whatever,
- 10:39Speaker 2: and they're always like it's Lindsay A and Lindsay B.
- 10:41Speaker 2: And she was Haley B. Yeah. I just thought that
- 10:44Speaker 2: was so funny. Like I don't know if like the
- 10:48Speaker 2: regular watcher would have like picked that up if they
- 10:50Speaker 2: don't watch, like, you know, reality dating shows on the regular,
- 10:54Speaker 2: But that's right.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I felt like obviously this had someone in there right
- 11:00Speaker 1: room on their writing staff, who was a fan of
- 11:02Speaker 1: these shows, like who obviously knew how they work. I
- 11:05Speaker 1: loved them.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Right What else did you like?
- 11:07Speaker 1: The last thing I liked? I just thought this was
- 11:09Speaker 1: really well paced. I thought it moved along really well.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I was never bored. I was never waiting for them
- 11:15Speaker 1: to get to the next thing. And I think the
- 11:16Speaker 1: reason this movie does that so well is because we're
- 11:19Speaker 1: not just focused on one couple. We have the two couples,
- 11:22Speaker 1: plus we have the behind the scenes of the show.
- 11:24Speaker 1: There's so much going on, but I didn't feel there
- 11:27Speaker 1: was too much going on. Sometimes they just throw a
- 11:31Speaker 1: lot of unnecessary storylines in. They all worked really well together,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and so I thought the balance there was great and
- 11:38Speaker 1: it kept the movie moving perfectly.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I agree, And there was times throughout this movie that
- 11:43Speaker 2: I was more invested in the relationship of Marco and
- 11:47Speaker 2: Breathe than I was of Haley and Luke. But it
- 11:50Speaker 2: was a nice like balance between the two. Otherwise I
- 11:54Speaker 2: would have been super bored if it was just like
- 11:56Speaker 2: Haley and Luke. And if really because the synopsis talks
- 12:01Speaker 2: about how she's there to like promote her dress line,
- 12:03Speaker 2: and yes, that was like a through line of the show,
- 12:07Speaker 2: but it wasn't like the moving factor of the show,
- 12:11Speaker 2: you know, right right, So yeah, otherwise I would have
- 12:15Speaker 2: been like tapped out. And I will admit that while
- 12:17Speaker 2: I was watching it, at the very very end, I
- 12:19Speaker 2: grabbed my phone and then the next thing I knew the.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Movie was over.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So I had to like rewind the last fifteen minutes
- 12:25Speaker 2: just to like see what happened. But other than that,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I was I liked it a lot.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I agree, what did you wish for?
- 12:36Speaker 2: I think the things that I wished for, And you know,
- 12:39Speaker 2: I get that they're going for like what you would
- 12:42Speaker 2: expect from other women on a reality TV show, as
- 12:45Speaker 2: kind of like that bitchy attitude towards each other, that
- 12:48Speaker 2: competitive nature to win this guy. I mean, I guess
- 12:54Speaker 2: that's what you.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Would get with a reality show. So I just.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Wish that they didn't have that. Oh and the other
- 13:01Speaker 2: thing I wished for is that the which was so
- 13:03Speaker 2: confusing the host slash executive producer of the show. I
- 13:08Speaker 2: didn't know what her name was, the blonde. She was
- 13:11Speaker 2: so oh god, what was I gonna say? Like, I
- 13:13Speaker 2: don't know. She just was this like villain ish like
- 13:18Speaker 2: sort of you know, it's just like, okay, whatever, I mean.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I know you gotta like create tension there with some characters,
- 13:26Speaker 2: but I just was like, whatever, Like is that necessary?
- 13:29Speaker 1: But that's me. I hear what you're saying. And there's
- 13:33Speaker 1: always a villain on these shows. But I feel like
- 13:35Speaker 1: they cast every other woman other than Hailey and Bree
- 13:39Speaker 1: as rude and snide, and that maybe wasn't necessary. M Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: all right. So the big part of the backstory is
- 13:47Speaker 1: that Hailey is a designer. She wants to get noticed,
- 13:51Speaker 1: so she goes on this show She's gonna show off
- 13:53Speaker 1: her dresses. Then, of course they find out plot twist
- 13:56Speaker 1: no more fancy dress nights, which give me a break.
- 13:58Speaker 1: But I did wish for better dresses, and I know
- 14:04Speaker 1: she's making them, like most of the dresses we see,
- 14:07Speaker 1: she's like making them in the room, but also we
- 14:10Speaker 1: know she's not really making them, so we could use
- 14:12Speaker 1: a little bit of that movie magic to make the
- 14:14Speaker 1: dressos a little bit better. I don't know. We only
- 14:17Speaker 1: get to see one of her ball gowns at the end,
- 14:20Speaker 1: which I did think was a pretty dress. Ball gown
- 14:22Speaker 1: is that the word? But I liked her wardrobe there
- 14:27Speaker 1: was a scene where she's wearing like really cute shorts
- 14:29Speaker 1: and a T shirt and I was like, oh, I
- 14:32Speaker 1: couldn't wear that, but it was really cute.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I know exactly what you're talking about because her T
- 14:37Speaker 2: shirt totally caught my eye and I was like, that
- 14:40Speaker 2: is such a cute little outfit. I would love to
- 14:42Speaker 2: wear that this summer.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yes, I thought she had good wardrobe. I was just like,
- 14:46Speaker 1: show me the dresses. If she's gonna be a dress designer,
- 14:48Speaker 1: let's like go all in on the wardrobe.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well that was annoying. It's because she's like, oh, yeah,
- 14:54Speaker 2: I put this together in my room. She didn't have
- 14:56Speaker 2: a sewing machine. But then later they talk about like, oh,
- 14:59Speaker 2: it's funny with some hymn tape and some whatever can do.
- 15:02Speaker 2: And I'm like, really, you're trying to tell me that,
- 15:04Speaker 2: like this dress she's wearing is put together with tape.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I doubt it, right right, right right.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It's like just dip out of that storyline if it's
- 15:16Speaker 2: not working overall. You know, Yeah, you could use the
- 15:20Speaker 2: dress thing as like the motivator to be there, but
- 15:24Speaker 2: like it doesn't have to continue to play.
- 15:26Speaker 1: A part, follow it all the way through right. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: there was enough going on. Did you wish for anything else? No?
- 15:32Speaker 2: I kind of like, no, I was good.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I was good too. You know, I didn't feel
- 15:37Speaker 1: like any of the couples had like firework chemistry. I
- 15:42Speaker 1: mean not even Haley and Luke. You didn't think was
- 15:46Speaker 1: I thought they had a good budding romance. They had
- 15:50Speaker 1: cute rapport. I thought that they had chemistry, and I'm
- 15:54Speaker 1: glad that they weren't like I love you, I love you.
- 15:55Speaker 1: They're like, let's just see where this goes, which I
- 15:58Speaker 1: appreciated because that's where I felt like they were like, oh,
- 16:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna come to San Francisco and we can see
- 16:03Speaker 1: what happens. Was kind of the feeling I got at
- 16:05Speaker 1: the end of that movie. And I liked that. And
- 16:08Speaker 1: I thought Bri and Marco, especially from that first yoga scene,
- 16:11Speaker 1: they set that up really well.
- 16:15Speaker 2: But it's blindfolded yoga really a thing. I don't know,
- 16:19Speaker 2: if you guys know, email us. I'm dying to know.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It was a fun premise, but I don't know. Maybe
- 16:27Speaker 1: I actually do like that it wasn't like we're in love,
- 16:30Speaker 1: because we always complain that they jumped straight from first
- 16:35Speaker 1: day to six days later, you're the love of my life.
- 16:38Speaker 1: So yeah, no, I did like that.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I liked it too. I especially liked it at the
- 16:43Speaker 2: end with Haley and Luke that they weren't like you're
- 16:46Speaker 2: my you know whatever. Really yeah, they're like, all right,
- 16:49Speaker 2: let's just see where this is going to go and
- 16:50Speaker 2: have a smooch. All right done?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yeah, great, cool, cool, cool, cool cool.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I really enjoyed Marco and Brie. I huh, I know
- 17:00Speaker 2: you said like you didn't feel like there was fireworks
- 17:02Speaker 2: from anybody in particular, but I did feel chemistry between them,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and as Brie as like a side character who's kind
- 17:11Speaker 2: of like I not, well, she actually in this movie
- 17:15Speaker 2: was very crucial to the storyline. But you know, like
- 17:19Speaker 2: side characters you really don't care about so much. I
- 17:21Speaker 2: mean I always trashed the side character because I'm like,
- 17:22Speaker 2: you're boring, I don't need you in the story. But
- 17:25Speaker 2: I really enjoyed her and thought she was adorable. And
- 17:29Speaker 2: the one scene where they went on that horseback riding
- 17:33Speaker 2: excursion and they both had hats on and they were
- 17:35Speaker 2: sitting out there, they just look so cute.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yes, I agree. I like that scene a lot. And
- 17:40Speaker 1: they were sitting afterwards talking.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I was waiting for them to kiss, and I
- 17:44Speaker 2: was like, who's gonna take the hat off?
- 17:46Speaker 1: But they don't, you know, Yeah, and then you got
- 17:49Speaker 1: hat hair.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, But I thought that was they just speaking of
- 17:53Speaker 2: like wardrobe and stuff. I just thought that was like,
- 17:56Speaker 2: very cute. I love that whole scene.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I did too, like that, look there, all right, let's
- 18:02Speaker 1: hop two. Did you see that? I have a few Okay,
- 18:07Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 18:08Speaker 2: There was several scenes where they were dressed up in
- 18:13Speaker 2: and they were shooting the show, so it was either
- 18:14Speaker 2: they were like at a party scene or they were
- 18:16Speaker 2: at like the elimination or whatever. And they have the
- 18:20Speaker 2: blonde girl I can't remember her name, the other contestant,
- 18:24Speaker 2: and she's in heels, and then they have like Brion
- 18:28Speaker 2: Haley and they're just wearing like these flat sandals. It's
- 18:32Speaker 2: just terrible. I was like, why did they put them
- 18:34Speaker 2: in these ugly, gross flat sandals that you would not
- 18:37Speaker 2: wear to like a party. I mean I would wear
- 18:40Speaker 2: them to a party, But I say, like, you know,
- 18:43Speaker 2: on a TV show or whatever.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Well, and I think in the final scene Brie was
- 18:48Speaker 1: wearing flats, yeah, And I was like, oh, it's because
- 18:54Speaker 1: they're on the grass. But I guess if not, everybody's
- 18:56Speaker 1: in flats, it doesn't really that this argument doesn't hold up.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 19:02Speaker 1: So they arrive Marisa's anytime you're out of your villa,
- 19:07Speaker 1: were recording you, And the first time they step out
- 19:09Speaker 1: of their villa, they're immediately talking about all their plans
- 19:13Speaker 1: for how they're going to work this show to their benefit.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I was like, ladies, we are smart women. Did we
- 19:20Speaker 1: already forget everything you were told ten minutes ago? And
- 19:24Speaker 1: then zoom in on the camera and of course roll
- 19:27Speaker 1: was caught.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Do you think that Why wouldn't they have made it
- 19:31Speaker 2: the cameras inside the villa too, like only outside right
- 19:35Speaker 2: on the porch, that camera hidden in the light, you.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Know, ad me, I don't know. Maybe they allow them
- 19:40Speaker 1: a little bit of privacy, or maybe it's just so that,
- 19:43Speaker 1: you know, to add some reality to them being able
- 19:46Speaker 1: to have a conversation about these things. And then they
- 19:49Speaker 1: know they got to turn it off when they go outside.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But they did not turn it off. Gave it a lie,
- 19:55Speaker 1: they sure did.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Let's talk about the preschool scribble.
- 20:00Speaker 1: On the whole My gosh, are you telling me that
- 20:03Speaker 1: is Scott Michael Foster's writing.
- 20:10Speaker 2: The other ones are also like delicately written, there's somebody
- 20:14Speaker 2: there doing it, and then I see him grab the sharpie. Okay, fine,
- 20:18Speaker 2: but like literally when they showed it, it looked like
- 20:21Speaker 2: a child had written, Hailey, it was so funny.
- 20:25Speaker 1: That was really funny. Well, and the funniest thing is
- 20:28Speaker 1: she doesn't notice it right away until she compares it
- 20:31Speaker 1: to Breeze. I'm like, you don't, like, that's not the
- 20:34Speaker 1: first thing you notice, Like, get a serial killer write
- 20:37Speaker 1: this totally? Yeah, that was so so funny. All right.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So when Haley has her secret rendezvous for the first
- 20:48Speaker 1: time with the mean blonde and she's like, draw a
- 20:51Speaker 1: glass of wine in my face. Draw a glass of
- 20:52Speaker 1: wine in my face. How how is it possible that
- 20:55Speaker 1: she completely misses her? She's standing one foot away from her, Like,
- 21:01Speaker 1: where did it go? Because that chick didn't even look wet, right,
- 21:07Speaker 1: not a splash on her arm, not a splash on
- 21:09Speaker 1: her dress. She was completely dry. I don't where did
- 21:13Speaker 1: it go? She was like, you didn't commit, but no,
- 21:15Speaker 1: there's no way she couldn't have gotten her even a
- 21:17Speaker 1: little bit.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Well, I enjoyed that, like that actress Haley. She took
- 21:25Speaker 2: it in the next shot where that girl did throw
- 21:27Speaker 2: the wood. Yes, I was like, all right, they went there.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I thought that was funny. Did you notice, like every
- 21:34Speaker 2: time there was two scenes Haley was walking on the beach,
- 21:38Speaker 2: and I honestly can't remember if she was lout with
- 21:40Speaker 2: Luke on both both scenes, but anyway, her body walking
- 21:45Speaker 2: was super contorted, like her legs were going straight, but
- 21:49Speaker 2: the whole upper body was like turned towards the other character.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It was bizarre.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Did you happen to notice it?
- 21:57Speaker 1: I didn't notice. I did love her white bab think
- 22:00Speaker 1: walking on the beach with Marco.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I did notice that. But I noticed thatt white beathing
- 22:04Speaker 2: suit too. Yeah, very cute.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it was just weird, like I don't know, like.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I don't know. It was just looked very uncomfortable. But
- 22:11Speaker 2: I'm sure it was like she was trying to look
- 22:14Speaker 2: engaged to the person who was next to her.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But yeah, I.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Try to walk on sand, you know, like nicely at whatever.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Anyway, just weird to me. Okay, So they have their
- 22:25Speaker 1: date on the island. Marie has to take them back
- 22:28Speaker 1: because Marco is stung by a jellyfish and They're like,
- 22:33Speaker 1: we gotta wait for the swell to go out for
- 22:35Speaker 1: her to be able to come back. Y'all, glass out there.
- 22:38Speaker 1: There's not a single wave coming in. Where is this
- 22:41Speaker 1: swell that they are waiting out? Also, isn't a swell
- 22:43Speaker 1: A wave? I don't understand.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I know, were they trying to talk about the tide?
- 22:47Speaker 1: I don't know. It was stilare. They talked about it twice.
- 22:50Speaker 1: When she brings her over, they mention it. And then
- 22:53Speaker 1: the reason they're stuck there for many many hours is
- 22:56Speaker 1: because they're waiting out this swell. I don't know. I
- 22:59Speaker 1: think we needed a better excuse why they had to
- 23:01Speaker 1: be stuck on the island because I was looking around,
- 23:03Speaker 1: like where's this well, y'all? Where is it?
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're telling me that they couldn't like make
- 23:09Speaker 2: the joke about peen on the jellyfish sting, Like right,
- 23:13Speaker 2: you know, everybody knows that that's a remedy. So like
- 23:16Speaker 2: they were like, oh, we gotta get him, we gotta go.
- 23:19Speaker 2: And then when he's back at the hotel and they're
- 23:22Speaker 2: showing like that. Now, I've never been stung by a jellyfish,
- 23:25Speaker 2: so I don't know what it looks like, but the
- 23:27Speaker 2: dude looked like he got bit by a shark. It
- 23:29Speaker 2: was like just it was like a nasty looking like
- 23:32Speaker 2: wound on his foot. Have you ever been stung by
- 23:35Speaker 2: a jellyfish? No?
- 23:37Speaker 1: But when we were in Hawaii several years ago, we
- 23:41Speaker 1: went on a snorkeling cruise and a woman in our
- 23:45Speaker 1: group was stung by a jellyfish and she had such
- 23:48Speaker 1: a severe reaction to it they had to have the
- 23:50Speaker 1: coastguard come pick her up off of our boat. Oh wow,
- 23:54Speaker 1: and everyone working on the boat. I was like, is
- 23:57Speaker 1: it really that bad? And they were like, either she's
- 23:59Speaker 1: having a your allergic reaction or she's an Academy Award
- 24:02Speaker 1: winning actress, because they were like, we that's typically not
- 24:05Speaker 1: the reaction, like it hurts. They have stuff that they
- 24:07Speaker 1: do for it, but it was. It was intense. So
- 24:11Speaker 1: I think, I don't know what a jellyfish thing usually
- 24:14Speaker 1: looks like, but I think they wanted something that you
- 24:16Speaker 1: could see on camera.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I get I get it.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I do know it hurts. And Luke's comment like, oh good,
- 24:23Speaker 1: think it wasn't a box jellyfish? Yeah, because they're deadly,
- 24:26Speaker 1: Oh really good. They weren't stung by a fatal jellyfish thing. Yeah,
- 24:31Speaker 1: I think we're all grateful for that. Yes, I'm super
- 24:34Speaker 1: impressed that you knew that. I had no idea you
- 24:37Speaker 1: know how I knew? Did Google? No? No, TikTok? All right, right,
- 24:44Speaker 1: TikTok for the wind? What else did you see?
- 24:49Speaker 2: I think that's it. I don't know. Okay, me too
- 24:52Speaker 2: more than that.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah, now it's time to rate this movie.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Oh so we usually rate these movies out of four
- 25:00Speaker 2: the stars. I am here to tell you that I
- 25:03Speaker 2: am not comparing this to anything because when we do that,
- 25:06Speaker 2: that just you know, yeah, makes for bad movies. So
- 25:10Speaker 2: I'm I really like this movie. It was a strong
- 25:14Speaker 2: one to set the tone on the second half of
- 25:19Speaker 2: what is it called Starry Nights? What's it called Summer Nights?
- 25:22Speaker 2: And I give it a three point two five stars.
- 25:27Speaker 1: It's a three and a half for me, but both
- 25:29Speaker 1: my solid scores. This was a good I'm very grateful
- 25:34Speaker 1: that the first one is not a day for the
- 25:37Speaker 1: second round. Yeah, well, it made me want to watch more.
- 25:40Speaker 1: It wasn't It wasn't a chore to watch.
- 25:42Speaker 2: So well, I will tell you that I saw a
- 25:45Speaker 2: commercial for the next movie and there was a little
- 25:48Speaker 2: part of me that went, oh my gosh, is that
- 25:51Speaker 2: Ryan Pavey, And oh my gosh, is that Jen Lily.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm excited to watch that movie that is not
- 25:56Speaker 1: next week. Next week is The twenty seven Hour Day
- 25:59Speaker 1: with Autumn and Andrew Walker. They showed many, many previews
- 26:03Speaker 1: for this movie. During Love for Real, an entrepreneur takes
- 26:09Speaker 1: a break from her wellness empire for some much needed
- 26:11Speaker 1: work life balance by herself. It appears that way all right,
