Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven tor where the Mark Simon Show starts.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now, hey it's Friday. That's a good news. Another heat
- 0:12Speaker 2: wave day, brutally hot today. If you don't like this weather,
- 0:17Speaker 2: don't even think of moving to Florida. This is what
- 0:19Speaker 2: it feels like about half the year, for about six
- 0:23Speaker 2: months a year. This is the weather in Florida. So
- 0:26Speaker 2: we got a lot to get to this, a lot
- 0:28Speaker 2: going on. We'll get to President Trump Iran, We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 2: to the new US Attorney, We'll get to President Trump's birthday.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We'll get to the police commissioner. We'll get to oil,
- 0:37Speaker 2: We'll get to the World Cup, the Knicks, and a
- 0:41Speaker 2: whole lot more. Ran. There is a deal. According to
- 0:45Speaker 2: the White House, there is a deal. They're very close
- 0:48Speaker 2: to signing it. The last night was supposed to be
- 0:51Speaker 2: a huge attack on Iran, just pounding the blank, President
- 0:57Speaker 2: Trump filling in that blank out of Iran, and at
- 1:01Speaker 2: the last minute, apparently they agreed to a deal that
- 1:04Speaker 2: we like and the strike was called off last night.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Now Iran is putting out a phony deal claiming this
- 1:13Speaker 2: is the deal. Apparently it's not. The President immediately putting
- 1:18Speaker 2: out a statement saying that's not the deal they've agreed
- 1:20Speaker 2: to and the version they put out they controlled the
- 1:22Speaker 2: straits of horn Moose. No guarantee on nuclear Well, in
- 1:26Speaker 2: the real deal, this as if they sign it, and
- 1:28Speaker 2: if they sign it, you know Iran they never stick
- 1:30Speaker 2: to anything. But in this deal that supposedly they've agreed to,
- 1:36Speaker 2: they will turn over all nuclear material. We will get
- 1:38Speaker 2: to destroy it all. They will agree to stop financing
- 1:42Speaker 2: terrorism all over the place, from Hesbaloo to the Hooties
- 1:45Speaker 2: and all that stuff. So we'll see what happens. We've
- 1:48Speaker 2: heard this before about being close, but we've never heard
- 1:51Speaker 2: about being disc close. So we'll see what happens. HiT's
- 1:55Speaker 2: the president.
- 1:56Speaker 3: We have a signing and the documents are in pretty
- 2:02Speaker 3: final shape, so we'll see.
- 2:05Speaker 2: No, that's good, that's good.
- 2:06Speaker 3: They will not have a nuclear weapon. They've agreed to
- 2:08Speaker 3: that there will be no which is the whole reason,
- 2:11Speaker 3: which is a big part of the reason. They will
- 2:14Speaker 3: not only not have they will not purchase develop in
- 2:17Speaker 3: any way any shape, in any way, shape or form
- 2:20Speaker 3: a nuclear weapon.
- 2:21Speaker 2: They will not have a nuclear weapon. Well, that's the goal.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Looks like we'll get there. So have you actually secured
- 2:27Speaker 2: an agreement on the discussions about the nuclear material and
- 2:31Speaker 2: the nuclear negotiation.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Actually on that, and nobody's getting close to it because
- 2:35Speaker 3: it's buried under a mountain.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, it is buried. It's what they call nuclear dust.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's quite an engineering feat to go down there and
- 2:46Speaker 2: extract it. But we know how to do that, and
- 2:48Speaker 2: we've got teams that are very good at destroying nuclear material.
- 2:52Speaker 2: We did it before, We did it in Libya when
- 2:54Speaker 2: Kadafi gave up his stuff. So it's just finding it,
- 2:58Speaker 2: getting it, destroying it, no problem, easy to do. Hey,
- 3:02Speaker 2: President Trump needs a new Director of National Intelligence, although
- 3:06Speaker 2: he doesn't really need it. Actually, there's been talk about
- 3:09Speaker 2: just getting rid of that job. There's no need for it.
- 3:11Speaker 2: You have a nine different intelligence agencies reporting to this
- 3:14Speaker 2: one place. But some question whether we it's a job
- 3:19Speaker 2: that was created only in the last few years. A
- 3:24Speaker 2: lot of people think it's just eliminate the job. But
- 3:27Speaker 2: the problem is, as you know, as you've watched the
- 3:29Speaker 2: intelligence community, they're pretty dirty and sleezy. I'm talking about
- 3:32Speaker 2: the Brennans and the Clappers and those sorts. I remember
- 3:36Speaker 2: the ones that tried to rig the election. Those are
- 3:38Speaker 2: the ones that signed that fake letter saying that the
- 3:41Speaker 2: Hunter laptop isn't real, it's Russian disinformation. These are really dirty,
- 3:46Speaker 2: sleezy people in the intelligence world, so you got to
- 3:48Speaker 2: get rid of them. So what the President has done,
- 3:51Speaker 2: he's named as acting DNI Bill Poulty to go in
- 3:57Speaker 2: there and be the acting director. Now he does doesn't
- 4:00Speaker 2: look like he's qualified. He's very very sharp guy, he's
- 4:04Speaker 2: very good. He ran Fanny and Freddie and I mean
- 4:06Speaker 2: he's smart guy, knows how to run stuff, but no
- 4:09Speaker 2: intelligence background, and he's known as a killer, an absolute killer.
- 4:15Speaker 2: But his real job is to go in there and
- 4:17Speaker 2: fire a lot of people. There's a lot of deep state,
- 4:20Speaker 2: a dirty you know Biden Obama operatives in the intelligence community.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That's how you got that fake letter about the laptop.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So his job is to go in there and just
- 4:30Speaker 2: clean house fire these people, just get rid of them,
- 4:32Speaker 2: clean it up. Now, the president, this is brilliant, this
- 4:36Speaker 2: is this is you know chess moves on his part.
- 4:40Speaker 2: So he sent this guy in there to do all
- 4:42Speaker 2: the dirty stuff. And then when a new director comes in,
- 4:45Speaker 2: it'll be a much cleaner place and the new director
- 4:48Speaker 2: won't be the guy that fired everybody. So that's a
- 4:51Speaker 2: smart move. None the other thing he's doing. Whoever he nominates,
- 4:54Speaker 2: no matter how qualified, no matter how great. You know,
- 4:57Speaker 2: these Democrats in the Senate are going to try to nomination.
- 5:01Speaker 2: They're going to go nuts trying to stop the guy,
- 5:03Speaker 2: no matter who it is. So by putting this awful
- 5:07Speaker 2: to them, he's not awful, but to them he's awful.
- 5:10Speaker 2: This awful to them, awful evil Pulty in there, they'll
- 5:14Speaker 2: be desperate to confirm the new nominee just to get
- 5:17Speaker 2: this Poulty out of there. So it's a brilliant move.
- 5:21Speaker 2: The President has nominated Jake Clayton to be the real
- 5:24Speaker 2: and permanent Director of National Intelligence. Clayton is a great guy,
- 5:29Speaker 2: terrific guy. He's been the US attorney here in Manhattan
- 5:33Speaker 2: in the Southern District, and a really really good guy.
- 5:37Speaker 2: So you couldn't have a better choice.
- 5:39Speaker 3: There for a little while.
- 5:40Speaker 2: He's running it for a short while.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Well, we get a very talented person, Jake Clayton, and
- 5:44Speaker 3: as you know, Jay Clinton's an incredible talent, head of
- 5:47Speaker 3: celebrant Bromwell, he was out of the SEC's now Southern District.
- 5:53Speaker 3: I mean, nobody has better credential but Bill will run
- 5:57Speaker 3: it for short. Well, he's done a fantastic job, but
- 5:59Speaker 3: Fannie may Mack.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so not. The only bad part is we lose.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Said Jake Clayton, as the US attorney here in the
- 6:05Speaker 2: Southern District, he's been great. And he's also said as
- 6:09Speaker 2: the US attorney that if Momdannie lets crime get out
- 6:12Speaker 2: of control, his office will step in and start arresting people.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So hopefully the President appoints a new US attorney with
- 6:19Speaker 2: the same philosophy, so he'll come in. They got to
- 6:22Speaker 2: get him confirmed by the Senate, but now they'll be
- 6:24Speaker 2: eager to confirm him just to get rid of Poulty. Now,
- 6:28Speaker 2: listen to this is these crazy Democrats. Listen to Schumer.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Poulty's got to go before anything else should happen.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It can happen.
- 6:35Speaker 4: But are you concerned that by drawing this line, Democrats
- 6:37Speaker 4: could be opening up the country to a national security concern.
- 6:40Speaker 5: We have great national series concerns with Pulty.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's great just arialities. There's a lying, thieving, rotten Adam Schiff.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Well, I think what the President wants is he wants
- 6:51Speaker 6: Pulty in place beginning in the middle of June and
- 6:55Speaker 6: then however long it takes to confirm. If Jake Clayton
- 6:59Speaker 6: is confirmed, Pulty would serve in that role. He would
- 7:02Speaker 6: be free to weaponize the date of the American people.
- 7:05Speaker 6: He would be free to alter conclusions of intelligence reports
- 7:09Speaker 6: to suit the President's preferences. He would be free to
- 7:12Speaker 6: engage in election interference.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They come up with all these scenarios, they work themselves
- 7:20Speaker 2: into a frenzy, and then they hear all this stuff
- 7:22Speaker 2: on Morning Joe and they get all whipped up about this.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But it's a brilliant move on the President's part. Now,
- 7:30Speaker 2: they're sure not going to take their time on confirming
- 7:35Speaker 2: Jay Clayton. They're gonna want to get this Pulty out
- 7:36Speaker 2: of there. Hey, big weekend at the White House. The
- 7:39Speaker 2: big UFC fight's taking place on the White House lawn.
- 7:43Speaker 2: They've built this enormous, spectacular structure and it'll be on
- 7:49Speaker 2: television Sunday night. I think it's eight o'clock. But you
- 7:51Speaker 2: might want to watch this even before the fight because
- 7:54Speaker 2: it's going to be absolutely dazzling. The plan and all
- 7:58Speaker 2: kinds of things. Some of these fighters are going to
- 8:00Speaker 2: skydive and parachute into the ring. They've been practicing this.
- 8:04Speaker 2: In fact, they had the airspace over DC clothes yesterday
- 8:07Speaker 2: to practice these parachute parachuting into the arena. I mean,
- 8:12Speaker 2: it's gonna be really dazzling. So this will be on
- 8:14Speaker 2: television Sunday night. The President will be there. They've invited
- 8:17Speaker 2: tons of people and it's going to be a spectacular
- 8:20Speaker 2: event on the White House lawn. It will drive Democrats nuts,
- 8:25Speaker 2: the Trump haters, the liberals, they'll go crazy. They don't
- 8:28Speaker 2: like to see people having fun. Oh they don't like
- 8:30Speaker 2: to see Ultimate Fighting championship. Oh they don't like that.
- 8:34Speaker 2: But people smiling, laughing, having fun. The other thing that'll
- 8:37Speaker 2: get them nuts. It's President Trump's birthday Sunday. It's his
- 8:41Speaker 2: eightieth birthday, eightieth birthday, so part of this will all
- 8:47Speaker 2: be his birthday celebration. He's had a lot of He's
- 8:51Speaker 2: not a big guy on birthdays. You know, there's some
- 8:53Speaker 2: people that announce their birthday constantly. They have birthday week,
- 8:56Speaker 2: birthday month. I couldn't attention of birthdays. He's kind of
- 9:02Speaker 2: like that too, And women go nuts with birthdays. You
- 9:07Speaker 2: look at him on their Instagram, it's my birthday month.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Every night there's another dinner. They're in a restaurant. You know.
- 9:12Speaker 2: The other thing, if you ask a woman how old
- 9:13Speaker 2: she is, she'd be so offended she didn't want it.
- 9:17Speaker 2: But if it's the birthday, they got balloons, and they
- 9:19Speaker 2: got one of those balloons with the age like a
- 9:21Speaker 2: five to Oh the balloon is up there for the
- 9:23Speaker 2: whole restaurant to see. But oh, the Trump has had
- 9:27Speaker 2: birthday parties. I remember it would have been ninety six.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I remember going to his fiftieth birthday party. It was
- 9:35Speaker 2: in the lobby of Trump Tower, which is a huge place, well,
- 9:38Speaker 2: a lobby in the base, you know where the escalator is.
- 9:41Speaker 2: It was an enormous birthday party. Hundreds of people. Remember
- 9:47Speaker 2: Earth the Kits sang at it, the Great Earth of Kit.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Tony Bennett was there, you know. It was a great painter.
- 9:52Speaker 2: He painted a painting a mar Alago. That was the
- 9:56Speaker 2: birthday President President Trump. I remember one hundred and hundreds
- 10:00Speaker 2: of gold balloons coming down. So but that's thirty years ago,
- 10:05Speaker 2: nineteen ninety six. I don't think he's had a not
- 10:07Speaker 2: really not a big birthday party since then. But it'll
- 10:10Speaker 2: be a Sunday, so that will be good. Hey, the
- 10:15Speaker 2: SpaceX Ipo has opened I think it's still one thirty five,
- 10:21Speaker 2: although it's not. I don't know if it's fully trading yet.
- 10:23Speaker 2: The SpaceX Ipo, that's Elon Muck's new company. He rang
- 10:27Speaker 2: the opening bell this morning and let me see. Yeah,
- 10:32Speaker 2: it's still at one thirty five. It doesn't look like
- 10:33Speaker 2: it's really trading yet. Nothing of it, no data available yet. Hey,
- 10:38Speaker 2: oil is way down. Remember when it went up ten
- 10:41Speaker 2: dollars a barrel and it was the lead story on
- 10:43Speaker 2: every network newscast. It's down thirty dollars a barrel since
- 10:48Speaker 2: that point, since the highest point, it's down thirty dollars
- 10:51Speaker 2: a barrel. No coverage, no mention of it. They don't
- 10:54Speaker 2: even mention it on the news. They don't want to
- 10:56Speaker 2: bring that up. So it's going to be a lot
- 11:00Speaker 2: of stuff this weekend. So Saturday night, you know, the
- 11:04Speaker 2: World Cup, the FIFA World Cup is on. It was
- 11:06Speaker 2: in Mexico. They're doing different cities around the US. It's
- 11:10Speaker 2: going to be in Philadelphia, it's going to be in Seattle.
- 11:12Speaker 2: But Saturday Night is New Jersey. It's not the Metal Lands.
- 11:18Speaker 2: It's in the Metal Lands. What they call that stadium, MetLife.
- 11:20Speaker 2: You're not allowed to call it MetLife for FIFA World Cup.
- 11:23Speaker 2: They have this rule, no advertising, no brand name, so
- 11:27Speaker 2: it's going to be called metal Lands Stadium for the night.
- 11:31Speaker 2: But it'll be Saturday night. I think it's early six o'clock.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And then you got the Knicks at eight thirty. That's
- 11:38Speaker 2: in San Antonio, so that'll everybody'll be watching that, and
- 11:41Speaker 2: the Knicks could clinch the whole thing Saturday night. Then
- 11:44Speaker 2: Sunday got the big UFC fight. That's great news. So
- 11:49Speaker 2: keep an eye on all of that stuff. If the
- 11:51Speaker 2: Knicks don't win Saturday night at some point, if they
- 11:55Speaker 2: if the series stretches out, they'll come back to Madison
- 11:58Speaker 2: Square Garden. I don't know what's going to happen as
- 12:01Speaker 2: far as watch parties and all that. James Dolan, owner
- 12:05Speaker 2: of Madison Square Garden, and the Knicks kind of telling
- 12:09Speaker 2: off the mayor and the police commissioner for giving him
- 12:13Speaker 2: the hard time with the frozen zones and obstructing the
- 12:17Speaker 2: watch parties and all that, and Dolan actually saying, problem
- 12:21Speaker 2: is them, this mayor, this police commissioner don't have much experience.
- 12:24Speaker 2: They're inexperienced, they don't know to handle these kind of things.
- 12:27Speaker 2: The strong statement from him. But obviously the mayor has
- 12:31Speaker 2: no experience, never even had a job. The police commissioner's
- 12:35Speaker 2: really not very experienced when it comes to police stuff.
- 12:37Speaker 2: She had been previously years ago in the NYPD, but
- 12:42Speaker 2: it was in an it job, nothing to do with policing.
- 12:47Speaker 2: There's also rumors all over the place that Jessica Tish
- 12:51Speaker 2: may be leaving, that she'll wait till after the World Cup.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Just rumors, but they're rumors from pretty high places that
- 12:59Speaker 2: she may be leaving at some point. Who mom Donnie
- 13:02Speaker 2: put in his police commissioner people on his short list,
- 13:06Speaker 2: they're not that scary. One is Suffolk County. I think
- 13:10Speaker 2: he's a police chief there, but he had been at
- 13:12Speaker 2: the NYPD for years, not a bad choice. And the
- 13:15Speaker 2: other one who I think is getting to the top
- 13:18Speaker 2: of the list, he former NYPD chief for years, very
- 13:22Speaker 2: very qualified. He's been in New Jersey the last few years,
- 13:25Speaker 2: retired from the NYPD. He's been in a New Jersey
- 13:27Speaker 2: in some high positions. But those two are not bad choices,
- 13:33Speaker 2: so it's not that scary if she leaves. So Hey,
- 13:36Speaker 2: we got a lot to get to. We'll get to
- 13:39Speaker 2: Ukraine and Moore coming up Hey, thanks to Barrett Media.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You know you've heard us talk about it, but Barrett
- 13:45Speaker 2: Media is the bible of the radio industry, the talk
- 13:49Speaker 2: radio industry, the music radio industry. It's like the official
- 13:52Speaker 2: trade magazine of radio. And they have a big summit
- 13:56Speaker 2: every year. It will be June thirtieth, three days. But
- 14:01Speaker 2: they've just announced I will receive the gold Standard and
- 14:05Speaker 2: Broadcasting Award. It's like the Lifetime Achievement Award. You know
- 14:09Speaker 2: what that means. To get a Lifetime Achievement Award means
- 14:11Speaker 2: you're getting old. A lifetime Achievement award. That's a great honor,
- 14:15Speaker 2: the gold standard in broadcasting. Thanks to Barrett Media. You
- 14:19Speaker 2: can read about it if you go to Barrettmedia dot com.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Barrettmedia dot com. I think even actually, I think anybody
- 14:27Speaker 2: can buy tickets. It's open to the public, I think.
- 14:29Speaker 2: But it's a great conference. You go there and it's
- 14:33Speaker 2: everybody in talk radio. Every major talk host is there,
- 14:38Speaker 2: all the top program directors. But imagine this, and they
- 14:42Speaker 2: do it every year, all the top talk radio hosts
- 14:44Speaker 2: in America in one room. Do you know what it's
- 14:47Speaker 2: like trying to get a word in in that room
- 14:49Speaker 2: with those people it's great though. Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three two one zero seven. Ten is
- 14:55Speaker 2: the number eight hundred three two one zero seven. Intend.
- 15:00Speaker 4: If you're listening to Mark on the iHeart Radio app,
- 15:03Speaker 4: save time and tap the preset button.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Now.
- 15:06Speaker 7: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on w o R.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Chris
- 15:15Speaker 2: in Manhattan and Chris, what are you worried about this time?
- 15:18Speaker 7: Good morning work.
- 15:19Speaker 8: First of all, congratulations.
- 15:20Speaker 9: On on the award you're going to get. I mean,
- 15:24Speaker 9: I think you're one of the most trust the reward
- 15:26Speaker 9: the casters on the ate. Like when you advertise something
- 15:28Speaker 9: like PC Richards or the water company, I believe the
- 15:31Speaker 9: bull brouse them and you're you know, you're not spread
- 15:33Speaker 9: out all over the place. But that's not what I
- 15:35Speaker 9: wanted to say.
- 15:35Speaker 8: Congratuate.
- 15:36Speaker 9: Actually, you you kind of came close to saying that
- 15:39Speaker 9: it doesn't matter what kind oflations are that going to make,
- 15:42Speaker 9: They're not going to stick.
- 15:43Speaker 10: To it and they're not.
- 15:44Speaker 7: We already know that we know that deal.
- 15:46Speaker 9: Trump's why are we still trying to get a deal
- 15:49Speaker 9: with them? I think we have to destroy so so
- 15:52Speaker 9: it's going to be meaningful.
- 15:54Speaker 2: The President will figure he'll figure it out. Mean, tell
- 15:56Speaker 2: me right. Meantime, we got rid of there, and you know,
- 16:00Speaker 2: all their air system, their air defense, their missiles, most
- 16:03Speaker 2: of them. They still have some, but we've pretty much
- 16:05Speaker 2: wiped out their military. We've taken away a lot of that.
- 16:08Speaker 2: We've taken away so much of their revenue that just
- 16:10Speaker 2: about broke. Don't have the money to finance all that
- 16:13Speaker 2: stuff anymore. But the president, even if they break the deal,
- 16:17Speaker 2: I'll just go back in and wipe them out again.
- 16:19Speaker 2: It's a better relationship than just letting them fund October seventh,
- 16:23Speaker 2: kind of stuff. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 16:26Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 16:28Speaker 11: Good morning, Mark, I'm doing very well.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Thank you, Mark again, congratulations on fifty years of broadcast
- 16:34Speaker 4: excellence in New York.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I have a question about your interviews. You've conducted tens
- 16:40Speaker 4: of thousands of interviews. My two questions are, first of all,
- 16:45Speaker 4: have they been digitized to be preserved? And secondly, how
- 16:49Speaker 4: do you choose which ones to keep and which ones
- 16:52Speaker 4: get faded into history?
- 16:54Speaker 2: Very good questions, Dave. I'll answer them.
- 16:57Speaker 8: One.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Many have been digitized, but there are many years of
- 17:02Speaker 2: the nineties, and a lot of them were I have
- 17:05Speaker 2: every show, there's thousands and thousands and thousands and digitizing
- 17:09Speaker 2: them and say, very slow process for a lazy guy
- 17:12Speaker 2: like me. Now you could have somebody else do it,
- 17:14Speaker 2: but I gotta do it because you got to listen
- 17:16Speaker 2: to it yourself. Some are outdated, some are which ones
- 17:19Speaker 2: you save well, obviously if it's the biggest names in
- 17:22Speaker 2: the world, of course you save it. But it's fascinating.
- 17:25Speaker 2: You're back to the nineties, even the eighties, somebody who
- 17:28Speaker 2: was a super big headline, superstar name exclusive interview. Now
- 17:33Speaker 2: you listen to it now and you realize nobody remembers
- 17:35Speaker 2: this guy. Nobody will know who it is anymore. So
- 17:39Speaker 2: there are some that get tossed out after a while.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing, Good.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 17:47Speaker 10: All the best on a well deserved honor.
- 17:49Speaker 11: Ks.
- 17:50Speaker 10: You mentioned earlier about being hot and humid up there,
- 17:54Speaker 10: and if you don't like it, now don't move to Florida.
- 17:58Speaker 10: I can give you a couple more reasons. The endless landscaping.
- 18:02Speaker 10: They are constantly mowing grass, blowing lee. It's endless endless,
- 18:07Speaker 10: never ends. And the fact that whenever it rains, the
- 18:10Speaker 10: lights flicker and go out. Really the twenty first century,
- 18:13Speaker 10: and yes, happened just the other night. They flicker, they
- 18:18Speaker 10: had they call them flickers. It goes out for a seconds,
- 18:20Speaker 10: enough to whack out half the stuff in your in
- 18:22Speaker 10: the thing, and it comes right back on. But then
- 18:24Speaker 10: they go out for like twenty minutes. Come on, go
- 18:26Speaker 10: out for another twenty minutes. It's a rainstorm. Yeah yeah,
- 18:30Speaker 10: but you also lived in Manhattan for fifty years. Fifty years.
- 18:33Speaker 10: I never had another I never had a flicker or
- 18:36Speaker 10: a flood or anything.
- 18:38Speaker 2: That's a good point. But you also have down there
- 18:40Speaker 2: all summer long, you have a vicious thunderstorm every afternoon, right.
- 18:44Speaker 10: Every afternoon, Every every afternoon when I go out the
- 18:47Speaker 10: barbecue's the same cloud over my left shoulder, every single
- 18:50Speaker 10: afternoon at the same time. All right, Well, it's so,
- 18:53Speaker 10: but it's but then again, once again, by the way
- 18:57Speaker 10: they may do you think they'll he'll trumpell nomine the
- 19:00Speaker 10: at least a panic that we place Jay Clayton.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Well, that'd be that's a good idea, and thought of that. Yeah, well,
- 19:07Speaker 2: good idea. All right, Well, we'll see, but thanks for calling. Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 2: if you want to move to Florida, just remember the
- 19:13Speaker 2: way they go outside today in the middle of this
- 19:15Speaker 2: weather today. That's what it's like in Florida. Six months
- 19:17Speaker 2: a year, and you get a vicious thunderstorm every afternoon,
- 19:21Speaker 2: just for a little while. But you got to go
- 19:22Speaker 2: in for a little while. Let's go to Glenn in
- 19:26Speaker 2: New Jersey.
- 19:27Speaker 11: Glenn, how you doing, Yes, Mark, I think Trump is brilliant,
- 19:33Speaker 11: I mean absolutely brilliant, the guy as an investor and
- 19:35Speaker 11: so forth. And when he says he loves inflation, I
- 19:39Speaker 11: do too, because every time that I buy something, it's
- 19:42Speaker 11: worth more.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Well, he didn't, he didn't really say he loves it.
- 19:46Speaker 2: He didn't say he loves him. Yeah, he didn't say
- 19:48Speaker 2: he loves inflation. They're taking that little clip out of
- 19:51Speaker 2: the rest of the what he said, I love this
- 19:54Speaker 2: inflation because it's going to come crashing down as soon
- 19:57Speaker 2: as the Ran conflict is over. He said, this will
- 20:00Speaker 2: go down real figures. He said, I love this this
- 20:03Speaker 2: inflation right here because it'll drop so fast. Let's go
- 20:06Speaker 2: to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 20:09Speaker 8: One, Jordan or Mark bon Jordan o marda me a
- 20:13Speaker 8: pew Sentiti complimentding.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Oh my goud, you can't believe what he just said.
- 20:17Speaker 2: You can't talk like that on the radio.
- 20:19Speaker 8: I just congratulated you and I said good morning to you.
- 20:23Speaker 8: Congrats Mark on this award. Mark. Did you hear the
- 20:28Speaker 8: latest from mad Mattress based Bondami He's Liz Peak pointed
- 20:33Speaker 8: it south the other day. He's now claiming he didn't
- 20:37Speaker 8: know this woman who's running for representative splanaz Si, that
- 20:43Speaker 8: she made all this these anti American, anti Jewish statements.
- 20:48Speaker 8: This woman nuh Dad Alicia Avida Chevalier, who looks like
- 20:55Speaker 8: she has a head of bullo and she needs to
- 20:58Speaker 8: go see a good headdresser. Well she said, and the
- 21:01Speaker 8: Post published again all this stuff she said about the Jews,
- 21:06Speaker 8: about America, about Trump and all this disgusting stuff. And
- 21:11Speaker 8: he's claiming this is his roofs she does this all
- 21:13Speaker 8: the time.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well, she's terrible, nobody should vote for her. But it's
- 21:16Speaker 2: possible he didn't know because he's a lazy guy who
- 21:18Speaker 2: does no research.
- 21:20Speaker 8: Yeah but no, but like it. But he's still supporting her. Mark,
- 21:24Speaker 8: even though it came out that she said all this
- 21:26Speaker 8: stuff he's still gonna support her.
- 21:28Speaker 2: That's Democrats. They love these Nazis. Look at that platinir
- 21:31Speaker 2: with the big Nazi tattoo. They love that stuff. Oh, Marko,
- 21:35Speaker 2: that's terrible. But what are you gonna do? They love it.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I don't know why, but they've fallen in love with Nazis.
- 21:41Speaker 8: Mark you know it's President Trump. You mean to say,
- 21:46Speaker 8: please ask him? Doesn't he have any dirt on this
- 21:49Speaker 8: man Mondami? Doesn't he good thing about dirt?
- 21:54Speaker 11: No?
- 21:54Speaker 2: The good thing about Mondani. The guy's never had a job,
- 21:56Speaker 2: never done anything. He's never done a thing in his life.
- 21:59Speaker 8: There's no dirt like when his family came here and
- 22:02Speaker 8: he applied from citizenship.
- 22:04Speaker 2: No, probably not, probably not. But they're terrible people. But Vincent,
- 22:08Speaker 2: thanks for calling. Hey. When we come back, Monica Crowley
- 22:11Speaker 2: she's at the White House. She's involved in running all
- 22:14Speaker 2: this kind of stuff, all the events, all the world
- 22:16Speaker 2: leaders and all. So we'll talk to Monica Crowley next
- 22:19Speaker 2: on seven to ten.
- 22:21Speaker 7: Wor Mark Simchia on wor.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Well, the great Monica Crowley. You know, I knew her
- 22:28Speaker 2: when she was just Monica Crowley, best selling author, radio
- 22:31Speaker 2: TV star. Now she's the ambassador she's the Chief of
- 22:35Speaker 2: Protocol of the United States of America and she's with
- 22:39Speaker 2: us now. Monica Crowley, how you doing.
- 22:42Speaker 12: Hey, Mark, always great to be with you.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah, boy, are you ever coming back? We miss you?
- 22:50Speaker 11: Well.
- 22:51Speaker 12: I miss New York too, although I have to tell
- 22:53Speaker 12: you that I was at the next game on Monday night. Yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 12: and it was really I mean, it was an unfortunate outcome.
- 23:00Speaker 12: Although look at what they did on Wednesday night, so
- 23:02Speaker 12: it's absolutely incredible. But to be back in New York
- 23:05Speaker 12: City with the electricity around the Knicks unbelievable. I do
- 23:09Speaker 12: miss it.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we miss you. Hey. What a weekend you
- 23:12Speaker 2: got coming up here at the White House. Tell how
- 23:15Speaker 2: many things are going on? You got the UFC fight.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Tell us about the busy weekend there.
- 23:21Speaker 12: Yes, Well, for really the next six weeks, going through
- 23:25Speaker 12: mid July and actually well into August, the United States
- 23:30Speaker 12: of America, Mark is going to be the center of
- 23:32Speaker 12: the universe because we are heading into America's two hundred
- 23:36Speaker 12: and fiftieth birthday and we have tremendous celebrations that are
- 23:40Speaker 12: all teed up and ready to go. Everything is open
- 23:43Speaker 12: to the public, free of charge. I'm going to get
- 23:46Speaker 12: to July fourth here in a minute. But you mentioned
- 23:48Speaker 12: the UFC fight. Yes, that is happening on the White
- 23:51Speaker 12: House South Lawn on Sunday this weekend, June fourteenth. It
- 23:56Speaker 12: happens to be Flag Day for the United States. It
- 23:59Speaker 12: also happened to be President Trump's eightieth birthday, although I'm
- 24:04Speaker 12: sure he doesn't want to mention the number, but it
- 24:06Speaker 12: will be a birthday celebration for him. We've got Dana White,
- 24:09Speaker 12: We've got the UFC, and it's all in celebration of
- 24:12Speaker 12: America's big birthday.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be amazing. So two hundred and fiftieth birthday
- 24:18Speaker 2: of America, I'm trying to remember two hundred that's when
- 24:23Speaker 2: they did those bi centennial moments on TV. But there
- 24:26Speaker 2: was nothing like this. This is a much, much bigger celebration.
- 24:29Speaker 12: Well, fifty years ago was the bi centennial nineteen seventy six,
- 24:33Speaker 12: and the country was really a lit with patriotic fervor,
- 24:38Speaker 12: and everybody had the patriotic spirit. And I do remember
- 24:42Speaker 12: being a very very little girl mark down the Jersey
- 24:46Speaker 12: Shore with my mom, my dad, my sister. And while
- 24:49Speaker 12: I don't remember everything that happened in nineteen seventy six,
- 24:53Speaker 12: like what President Ford was doing and his speech to
- 24:56Speaker 12: the nation and all of that. I do remember being
- 24:59Speaker 12: down LBI having a sparkler in one hand and a
- 25:03Speaker 12: little American flag in the other. That kind of indelible
- 25:07Speaker 12: feeling of patriotism and love of country is what was
- 25:12Speaker 12: instilled in me that day, and I know for millions
- 25:15Speaker 12: of other Americans that is exactly the kind of patriotic
- 25:19Speaker 12: feeling that we are trying to recreate for America's two
- 25:22Speaker 12: hundred and fiftieth. So we've got a couple of really
- 25:25Speaker 12: big things planned, Mark. In addition to UFC happening this weekend,
- 25:30Speaker 12: starting on June twenty fifth, on the National Mall, we
- 25:34Speaker 12: are going to be launching the Great American State Fair.
- 25:37Speaker 12: All fifty states and six territories will be represented on
- 25:41Speaker 12: the National Mall with their own pavilions about what makes
- 25:45Speaker 12: each state great, including New York and New Jersey, so
- 25:49Speaker 12: many others, all kinds of blue ribbon competitions. We're going
- 25:54Speaker 12: to have for the very first time, a one hundred
- 25:57Speaker 12: and ten foot ferris wheel on the National Mall. You
- 26:00Speaker 12: can go all the way up, Mark and see the beauty,
- 26:03Speaker 12: the cleanliness, the safety of our nation's capital, thanks to
- 26:07Speaker 12: President Trump, from the Ferris Wheel, all kinds of performances,
- 26:13Speaker 12: rodeo performances, three times a day. It is going to
- 26:17Speaker 12: be a world's fare on the National Mall. It's going
- 26:20Speaker 12: to run for sixteen days through July tenth. So please
- 26:23Speaker 12: come down and see it.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, the Morning Joe CNN types, I'm
- 26:28Speaker 2: not going to like this. They don't like celebrating rodeos.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It's too Middle America for them. You know, many of
- 26:34Speaker 2: these beltwait people, the elite Northeast, they've never seen any
- 26:39Speaker 2: of this state fair stuff. It's all foreign to them.
- 26:41Speaker 2: So it's good that they'll see it.
- 26:43Speaker 12: Well, if you're talking about like the Blue Coast people
- 26:47Speaker 12: who are are part of the problem, then no. But
- 26:50Speaker 12: what we're doing is a true celebration of all of America.
- 26:54Speaker 12: And just like in nineteen seventy six when we were
- 26:56Speaker 12: coming off of Vietnam and Watergate and the country had
- 27:00Speaker 12: deep divisions, we have deep divisions now. But just as
- 27:04Speaker 12: fifty years ago, this celebration of America is going to
- 27:07Speaker 12: unite the American people around our shared values, our shared
- 27:12Speaker 12: sense of patriotism, and a renewed sense of civic Pride,
- 27:16Speaker 12: and of course the ten Pole event mark is going
- 27:18Speaker 12: to be on July fourth. I want to mention two
- 27:20Speaker 12: quick things here. First of all, I know you're sitting
- 27:23Speaker 12: in New York City. New York is going to be
- 27:25Speaker 12: hosting an international naval review, including a massive parade of
- 27:32Speaker 12: gorgeous tall ships. We did this fifty years ago. We're
- 27:35Speaker 12: doing it again around the Statue of Liberty, New York
- 27:38Speaker 12: Harbor and then up the Hudson River with about thirty
- 27:42Speaker 12: five countries represented with gorgeous tall ships. That is starting
- 27:46Speaker 12: on July fourth at ten am, So please get out,
- 27:50Speaker 12: get to the river, get your place early, and really
- 27:53Speaker 12: watch this beautiful thing unfold. Such a gorgeous celebration. And
- 27:58Speaker 12: then later that night, of course, New York is going
- 28:00Speaker 12: to have its celebration, the big national celebration, the Salute
- 28:04Speaker 12: to America, is going to take place on the National
- 28:07Speaker 12: Mall and it is going to feature headline performances, the
- 28:11Speaker 12: story of America, gorgeous graphics. And of course, because it's
- 28:16Speaker 12: President Trump who requested the biggest and greatest fireworks display
- 28:22Speaker 12: in the history of the country, we are going to
- 28:24Speaker 12: set off eight hundred and sixty thousand fireworks over the
- 28:29Speaker 12: National Mall, the biggest I think in the history of
- 28:32Speaker 12: the world. So to celebrate America. Yeah, So if you
- 28:36Speaker 12: can come out for New York celebration, come down to
- 28:39Speaker 12: DC for the big salute to America. It is going
- 28:42Speaker 12: to be the grandest celebration in the history of our country.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Wow. Now, of course, if you can't be there, it'll
- 28:48Speaker 2: be televised. Obviously we can be able to watch it.
- 28:50Speaker 12: And yes, of course we've got broadcast partners across the
- 28:54Speaker 12: country who are going to be picking this up. And
- 28:56Speaker 12: if you're listening to us from other parts of America
- 28:59Speaker 12: or around the world, we are having a truly global celebration,
- 29:04Speaker 12: including activations to celebrate America's two hundred and fiftieth around
- 29:09Speaker 12: the world, with all of our partners and allies around
- 29:12Speaker 12: the world lighting up their countries in red, white and
- 29:15Speaker 12: blue to help us celebrate. Every state in America also
- 29:19Speaker 12: has our own celebrations planned, and I'm sure most communities
- 29:23Speaker 12: around a country will have the same plans. I see
- 29:27Speaker 12: in certain communities in New Jersey they've already painted the
- 29:31Speaker 12: crosswalks red, white and blue. So we are all getting
- 29:35Speaker 12: into the spirit mark and I encourage everybody to get
- 29:38Speaker 12: involved in their communities, or come out in New York City,
- 29:41Speaker 12: come out of Washington, d C. And really help us
- 29:44Speaker 12: celebrate the most exceptional country in the history of the world.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Wow, sounds amazing now, Monica Crowley, she's the Chief of
- 29:51Speaker 2: Protocol the United States. Tough part of your job. I
- 29:54Speaker 2: see you do this all the time. When a world
- 29:55Speaker 2: leader comes to see the President, the first meeting is
- 29:58Speaker 2: with you. I see they come into the room with you.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So you talk to every world leader. When you're suddenly
- 30:02Speaker 2: alone with the president of Finland or someplace, what do
- 30:06Speaker 2: you talk to them about?
- 30:09Speaker 12: Well, it's you know, it's My job is based in diplomacy. Obviously,
- 30:14Speaker 12: I am an ambassador Senate confirmed, so I do have
- 30:18Speaker 12: the constitutional authority to speak on behalf of the President,
- 30:21Speaker 12: the Vice President, and the Secretary of State, and I
- 30:24Speaker 12: take that responsibility very seriously. So my job is to
- 30:29Speaker 12: not pass judgment on any of these leaders, whether it's
- 30:31Speaker 12: S'san Ping of China, Vladimir Putin of Russia, the president
- 30:35Speaker 12: of Finland. As you mentioned, my job is to make
- 30:38Speaker 12: sure that my team and I and I've got an
- 30:41Speaker 12: extraordinary team. They're so committed and dedicated they do a
- 30:45Speaker 12: tremendous job. What we do is create the most amenable
- 30:51Speaker 12: environment for the most effective and robust diplomacy to take place.
- 30:55Speaker 12: So we make sure that the president has what he
- 30:58Speaker 12: needs to do his job well, and we also make
- 31:01Speaker 12: sure that the world leader and his or her delegation
- 31:05Speaker 12: have what they need to do their job well. So
- 31:08Speaker 12: when I'm alone with these world leaders, Mark, I talk
- 31:10Speaker 12: to them about their trip. I make some nice small
- 31:14Speaker 12: talk if they want to talk a little policy. That's
- 31:18Speaker 12: also my background, so I'm always happy to do that,
- 31:21Speaker 12: but always with an eye to I am representing the
- 31:23Speaker 12: President of the United States and the American people, and
- 31:27Speaker 12: I do it so proudly and with so much love
- 31:29Speaker 12: for my country.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Well, it's a fascinating job. I mean, what a great
- 31:35Speaker 2: job you've done with all of this. And we miss
- 31:38Speaker 2: you in New York. I wish you'd come back, but
- 31:40Speaker 2: we need you in Washington right now. It's great to
- 31:43Speaker 2: talk to you and Monica Crowley will do it again soon.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Thanks for the update.
- 31:47Speaker 12: Always a pleasure of Mark.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Thank you all right, take care, Hey, noybody follow her
- 31:51Speaker 2: on Instagram and Twitter and all that great great stuff
- 31:55Speaker 2: up there. From Monica Crowley and don't forget at noon,
- 32:00Speaker 2: Buck Sexton and Clay Travis will be here with an
- 32:02Speaker 2: excellent show. And then you got the most listen to
- 32:05Speaker 2: radio show in America at three o'clock, Sean Hannity. He
- 32:08Speaker 2: got Jesse Kelly at six and you know Jimmy Faile
- 32:11Speaker 2: is now here every night nine to midnight. You should
- 32:13Speaker 2: be listening. It's a great show, very funny. Every night
- 32:16Speaker 2: at nine on seven to ten WR it's the.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Mark Simone Show, Live from the WR Life Back studios.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Well, hey, we've been following the SpaceX ipo. It was
- 32:32Speaker 2: decided the price would be one hundred and thirty five dollars,
- 32:35Speaker 2: which is very, very very high for an ipo. But
- 32:38Speaker 2: we're waiting for that first trade one hundred and thirty
- 32:42Speaker 2: five dollars and apparently they sold seventy five billion worth
- 32:45Speaker 2: of the stock before the market open. That's two institutions
- 32:48Speaker 2: and professional buyers who will get in on this early.
- 32:52Speaker 2: And if that is the fact, if that is the
- 32:55Speaker 2: fact that I think makes Elon Musk the first trillionaire
- 33:00Speaker 2: in the history of the world. But we're waiting for
- 33:02Speaker 2: the stock to actually open for real trading with the public.
- 33:05Speaker 2: It looks like right now, it looks like when it
- 33:08Speaker 2: opens for trading, it'll be at about one hundred and
- 33:11Speaker 2: sixty nine dollars per share. One hundred and sixty nine
- 33:14Speaker 2: dollars per share, so the insiders get in at the
- 33:16Speaker 2: IPO price. It's all done before the market opens. Now,
- 33:19Speaker 2: if you want to buy it on the open market,
- 33:20Speaker 2: which will happen today, that price could just sort It
- 33:24Speaker 2: could be all over the place. But you don't have
- 33:28Speaker 2: to jump in today. You know, a stock like this,
- 33:31Speaker 2: like Tesla, like other IPOs, it's going to have a
- 33:34Speaker 2: lot of ups and down. So if you don't get
- 33:35Speaker 2: in today, if you don't like the price, it'll come down,
- 33:37Speaker 2: it'll go up. There'll be other opportunities to buy into it. Hey,
- 33:42Speaker 2: that crazy brad Lander, that left wing annoying like a
- 33:47Speaker 2: young Chuck Schumer Democrat. Remember he got himself arrested blocking
- 33:51Speaker 2: the elevator at a detention facility or was it an
- 33:56Speaker 2: immigration courtroom? Well he went you went to trial. Well
- 34:01Speaker 2: we'll get to that. We'll get to it after the news.
- 34:02Speaker 2: We don't have much time here, but after the news
- 34:04Speaker 2: we'll get to that. Don't forget I'm here every day
- 34:06Speaker 2: ten to noon. If you can't listen ten to noon.
- 34:10Speaker 2: If you can't listen live, you get the podcast, then
- 34:12Speaker 2: you can hear the show anytime day or night. And
- 34:15Speaker 2: also remember if you're listening to the podcast, if you're
- 34:17Speaker 2: a podcast listener, there's an extra show every weekend, a
- 34:21Speaker 2: bonus show just for podcast listeners, and you can get
- 34:25Speaker 2: it wherever you get your podcast. So don't go away.
- 34:27Speaker 2: You got another hour to go back right after the news.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Mark Simone here on seven to ten, wor here's more.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Mark Simone on seven ten woay.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Oh, it's not another hot, well tering, sticky day. This
- 34:44Speaker 2: is again. They're gonna move into Florida. Go outside today.
- 34:48Speaker 2: If you don't like this weather, you can't live in Florida.
- 34:50Speaker 2: It's six months a year of this weather. SpaceX the
- 34:54Speaker 2: IPO I said before one sixty nine look like it
- 34:59Speaker 2: would be the price it might open at. Now it's
- 35:03Speaker 2: set to open a one sixty five. At one point
- 35:05Speaker 2: they thought one's seventy five. So it's not going too
- 35:07Speaker 2: crazy right now, but we'll keep an eye on it
- 35:10Speaker 2: for you. And speaking of crazy, what the hell is
- 35:12Speaker 2: this all about? Look at this on Tuesday on the View,
- 35:19Speaker 2: Who is the guest Vice President JD. Vance is now
- 35:23Speaker 2: booked to be on the View on Tuesday. Huh, Well,
- 35:31Speaker 2: I don't know what that's all about. I know they
- 35:33Speaker 2: were the higher ups at Disney ABC. They were kind
- 35:38Speaker 2: of told, see if you could get the show more legitimate.
- 35:41Speaker 2: It's just a crazy, fake news left wing show. It's
- 35:45Speaker 2: you know, it's not like Morning Joe. There's Morning Joe's
- 35:49Speaker 2: like the High IQ show. The View is like the
- 35:51Speaker 2: Low IQ Show. And on both sides of the aisle,
- 35:53Speaker 2: you have that stuff. You got your High IQ shows,
- 35:56Speaker 2: you got your Low IQ shows, but the View. But
- 36:01Speaker 2: apparently I've heard that Disney wants them to see if
- 36:04Speaker 2: they could get a little more towards the middle, a
- 36:06Speaker 2: little balance. Maybe they even at one point went to
- 36:11Speaker 2: the FCC and tried to get The View officially ruled
- 36:15Speaker 2: as a news show, even though there's nobody on the
- 36:19Speaker 2: show that would know anything about the news. But Vice
- 36:22Speaker 2: President Vance, I guess, is the beginning of this effort
- 36:25Speaker 2: to get a little more balance in there. You remember
- 36:27Speaker 2: the old View, if you went back to the Barbara
- 36:29Speaker 2: Walters days. Yeah, they were left wing kooks, but they
- 36:33Speaker 2: always had one real actual Republican on the panel, and
- 36:36Speaker 2: they would always have conservative guests. They would have Ann Coulter,
- 36:39Speaker 2: they would have Bill O'Reilly, they would, but they stopped
- 36:42Speaker 2: doing all that. Now Vice President Vance is on Tuesday.
- 36:45Speaker 2: He's got a book coming out called Communion, Finding My
- 36:51Speaker 2: Way Back to Faith, So I guess he's there to
- 36:53Speaker 2: plug the book. Although if you're a regular watcher of
- 36:57Speaker 2: the View every day, I don't think you're rushing out
- 36:59Speaker 2: to buy a JD. Van's book. But good for him,
- 37:02Speaker 2: and he's good at that. He's good at calmly, very
- 37:06Speaker 2: gentlemanly taking on a bunch of screaming idiots, so he'll
- 37:10Speaker 2: be good at the mayor. Mom, Donnie, you know he
- 37:14Speaker 2: was at the next game Monday night. You know, President
- 37:16Speaker 2: Trump came to the next game and then a lot
- 37:19Speaker 2: of course of fake news media democrats. He jinks the
- 37:24Speaker 2: team they won thirteen in a row. As soon as
- 37:26Speaker 2: he shows up, they lose. Well, remember Mom, Donnie was
- 37:30Speaker 2: at the game Monday night. He might have been the jinks.
- 37:33Speaker 2: All of a sudden, Mom Donni's at the game and
- 37:35Speaker 2: there jinks. Remember Trump is a long lifetime Knicks fan.
- 37:40Speaker 2: He's a huge, huge Knicks fan. The commissioner the NBA
- 37:45Speaker 2: commissioner even put out a statement. Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Here's his actual statement. Donald Trump was a fixture at
- 37:54Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden. He had courtside seats, he had season tickets.
- 37:58Speaker 2: He was here all the time, he was at drafts.
- 38:02Speaker 2: He's a genuine Knicks fan. Always has been so official
- 38:06Speaker 2: statement from the NBA. But Mom Donnie, I don't think
- 38:10Speaker 2: you've ever heard of the Knicks before. Was at the
- 38:13Speaker 2: game and apparently President Trump was invited by owner James
- 38:17Speaker 2: Dolan to sit in his suite with him. Apparently, Mom
- 38:21Speaker 2: Donnie just decided he wanted to go, and his team
- 38:25Speaker 2: contacted Madison Square Garden told them they wanted half a
- 38:28Speaker 2: dozen tickets. So he brought five people with him. Now
- 38:32Speaker 2: his security details with him. But they don't sit, they're
- 38:35Speaker 2: all standing. So he brought five people with him. He
- 38:39Speaker 2: asked that the seats be the cheapest seats and the
- 38:43Speaker 2: worst possibles, which is perfect for him. He should be
- 38:46Speaker 2: in the cheapest seats and he should be in the
- 38:47Speaker 2: worst section. He wanted to pay for them. The tickets
- 38:52Speaker 2: are roughly one thousand dollars a ticket, although really they're
- 38:55Speaker 2: like seventy five hundred on that you know, we resell them.
- 39:00Speaker 2: But he only wanted to pay seven hundred and fifty
- 39:02Speaker 2: for them, seven hundred fifty dollars for one thousand dollars tickets.
- 39:05Speaker 2: But they did what he wanted. They gave him the tickets. Now,
- 39:11Speaker 2: Massive Square Garden often sets aside a pool of tickets
- 39:14Speaker 2: for VIPs, and that would include elected officials. When you
- 39:18Speaker 2: see Larry David or Jerry Seinfeld or all those people
- 39:22Speaker 2: of courts that there's tickets and seats that are always
- 39:24Speaker 2: set aside for them. And the mayor could have just
- 39:28Speaker 2: easily done that, but he wanted to buy tickets in
- 39:30Speaker 2: the worst possible section, which makes sense. If I were him,
- 39:34Speaker 2: I'd want to be in the back row. If you're
- 39:35Speaker 2: in the front row, if people can see you, they're
- 39:37Speaker 2: going to boo you. But if you're in the back row,
- 39:40Speaker 2: nobody can see it. Who's going to turn around and
- 39:41Speaker 2: look at the back row? So smart thinking on his part. Hey,
- 39:46Speaker 2: remember Taylor Swift at the game courtside with a few
- 39:51Speaker 2: friends of hers. These two women, these two sisters also
- 39:55Speaker 2: Marissa Hargatay with her, and they were all wearing these shirts,
- 39:58Speaker 2: these blue shirts with a orange letters. The Knicks colors,
- 40:01Speaker 2: but the shirt said Stevie Nicks. Now, I don't know
- 40:06Speaker 2: what that's all about. Is that Does she love Stevie
- 40:09Speaker 2: Nicks that much? Is it a new shirt coming out
- 40:11Speaker 2: she's going to try to sell. I don't know what
- 40:13Speaker 2: it is. But the two sisters custom make shirts t shirts.
- 40:18Speaker 2: They silk screen them, so apparently it was Taylor Swift's idea.
- 40:23Speaker 2: The sister, Elena Haims, says, I got a text from
- 40:27Speaker 2: Taylor that said, can you make this shirt Stevie Nicks.
- 40:32Speaker 2: She thought it was funny. She thought it would be
- 40:34Speaker 2: really cute. She said, I thought it would make people laugh.
- 40:38Speaker 2: So I made up a few shirts. We all wore
- 40:40Speaker 2: them to the game we got there. We gave one
- 40:42Speaker 2: to Mariska Hargatea, who put one on and that's why
- 40:46Speaker 2: they were wearing them. Apparently they're not selling them, they
- 40:49Speaker 2: just made them for that game. She thought it would
- 40:52Speaker 2: be really funny, it's cute. It's I don't think you
- 40:59Speaker 2: any belly la with that shirt. But hey, President Trump
- 41:04Speaker 2: has really done a lot to clean up Washington. He's
- 41:07Speaker 2: got federal law enforcement all over the place trying to
- 41:10Speaker 2: clean it up, and they've done a great job. They've
- 41:13Speaker 2: brought crime down dramatically. Washington's one of the most dangerous
- 41:16Speaker 2: places in America. I mean, nobody'd walk around there at night.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Now people feel safe, they're walking around, the restaurants are
- 41:22Speaker 2: doing much better. The store's business is booming. If really
- 41:26Speaker 2: really cleaned it up. However, here's the problem. Now the
- 41:29Speaker 2: mayor of Washington, DC, who's a crazy Democrat, but smart
- 41:33Speaker 2: enough and common sense enough and realistic enough to let
- 41:37Speaker 2: Trump do all this, and she stayed out of the way.
- 41:39Speaker 2: But they now got a Democratic primary and one of
- 41:43Speaker 2: the two leading candidates is Janice Lewis George, who everybody
- 41:46Speaker 2: says is one of these mom Donnie crazy socialists. President
- 41:52Speaker 2: Trump has said if this guy wins the primary, if
- 41:54Speaker 2: this guy wins and becomes mayor, President Trump threatening to
- 41:58Speaker 2: take over Washington, DC, which he may be able to do.
- 42:02Speaker 2: You know, it's actually part of the federal government. Washington
- 42:05Speaker 2: DC is part of the federal government. It's the District
- 42:09Speaker 2: of Columbia controlled by the federal government. So he could
- 42:11Speaker 2: actually take full control of it if he gets this
- 42:14Speaker 2: Mamdani type character in there. He will. Now, of course,
- 42:17Speaker 2: that'll cause massive controversy. Millions of lawsuits. Every district judge
- 42:23Speaker 2: will be ruling against him. It's going to go crazy.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Here's the other thing that they're going to go crazy about.
- 42:30Speaker 2: President Trump is working with members of Congress, members of
- 42:33Speaker 2: the House, who are going to vote to expunge his impeachment,
- 42:41Speaker 2: just erase it. Now, we don't know if that's even legal,
- 42:45Speaker 2: if it's legally binding, we don't know. No he's ever
- 42:47Speaker 2: done this before, but they've come up with a plan.
- 42:50Speaker 2: They've consulted with lawyers. The House will vote to expunge
- 42:54Speaker 2: the impeachment, which is kind of like just erasing it again,
- 42:59Speaker 2: expunge it. There's no actual legal formal anything for that.
- 43:03Speaker 2: But if the House passes it, it's pretty much expunged.
- 43:06Speaker 2: It doesn't matter about the Senate because the impeachment never
- 43:09Speaker 2: got to the Senate. It was simply in a House impeachment.
- 43:14Speaker 2: So once that happens, Democrats, the media, the Morning Joe's,
- 43:19Speaker 2: they'll all go crazy, absolutely insane over this. Chuck Schumer,
- 43:25Speaker 2: they'll go nuts as glasses will be flogging up again.
- 43:28Speaker 2: And I don't know what they're gonna do about it.
- 43:30Speaker 2: But so finally it's not gonna nothing is going to
- 43:34Speaker 2: actually take place until after the midterms, but they're talking
- 43:37Speaker 2: about it, planning it out, plotting it out behind the scenes,
- 43:41Speaker 2: and then after the midterms, even if the Republicans lose,
- 43:45Speaker 2: they can do it. Democrats have pledged if they take over,
- 43:49Speaker 2: if they take the House, that they will absolutely impeach
- 43:53Speaker 2: President Trump day one, day one. So just keep an
- 43:58Speaker 2: eye on that. It's about it's about to happen. Hey,
- 44:02Speaker 2: look SpaceX now it was one sixty five, expected to
- 44:05Speaker 2: open around one sixty two. It's dropping a little, all right.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I don't know. I wouldn't rush to get in there.
- 44:11Speaker 2: If I were. There will be plenty of time to
- 44:13Speaker 2: buy that stock. Oh yeah, we were talking about Brad
- 44:16Speaker 2: Lander before, this crazy left wing Brad Lander. He's like
- 44:19Speaker 2: a junior Chuck Schumer. He would like to be the
- 44:21Speaker 2: next Chuck Schumer, which means do nothing, figure out how
- 44:26Speaker 2: to get on television every day publicity stunts. So one
- 44:29Speaker 2: of his big stunts he went down to the courtroom.
- 44:33Speaker 2: There's a courtroom where they do the ice proceedings, the
- 44:38Speaker 2: immigration proceedings, deportation, that sort of stuff. So he tried
- 44:41Speaker 2: to block the elevator so nobody could get on. He
- 44:44Speaker 2: was trying to obstruct the whole thing. He was arrested.
- 44:47Speaker 2: He went to trial this week. He was found not guilty.
- 44:52Speaker 2: No surprise, left wing jurors, left wing judge, left wing courtroom.
- 44:57Speaker 2: He was found not guilty. He of course, was thrilled
- 45:00Speaker 2: about it.
- 45:00Speaker 13: I did not expect to be emotional. This was not
- 45:02Speaker 13: a I did not feel in a lot of jeopardy.
- 45:04Speaker 13: Had they found me guilty, I suspect I would have gotten,
- 45:06Speaker 13: you know, community service. And yet when you're sitting there,
- 45:11Speaker 13: it really is moving to feel like it matters what happens.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Okay, well, all right, if that's what you did. You
- 45:19Speaker 2: know he talks like that. Can you imagine him as humor?
- 45:24Speaker 2: So he's not guilty, although he was. I guess he
- 45:28Speaker 2: was by Democratic definition committing insurrection that January sixth people
- 45:33Speaker 2: a horrible trespassing incident. But remember the Democrats kept calling
- 45:38Speaker 2: it insurrection even though nobody was charged with insurrection. But
- 45:44Speaker 2: I guess by their definition, if you try to block
- 45:47Speaker 2: the government procedure, that's an insurrection. So Brad Lander not
- 45:52Speaker 2: guilty as an insurrectionist. Hey, we're talking about DC. The
- 45:56Speaker 2: president will take over at Washington, d C. If they
- 46:00Speaker 2: get this kookie, Mom, Donnie mayor. But you know we
- 46:02Speaker 2: got our Homeland Security Chief Mark Wayne Mullen, and he
- 46:06Speaker 2: has said, if Mom, Donnie, it's going to go crazy
- 46:10Speaker 2: letting crime happen, then he might want to do something.
- 46:13Speaker 14: We have mayors like Mandomie in New York who want
- 46:15Speaker 14: to say you're not welcome. As a mayor, he knows
- 46:18Speaker 14: what's happening is on the streets, he knows who he's harboring.
- 46:23Speaker 14: And at this point in a baby by saying that
- 46:26Speaker 14: we can't go operate, we're going to Yeah.
- 46:29Speaker 2: You might see a lot of ice all over the
- 46:31Speaker 2: streets pretty soon. Hey, what's the deal with Phil Mickelson.
- 46:36Speaker 2: There's always controversy around Phil Micholson, whether it's gambling and
- 46:39Speaker 2: drinking whatever it is. So Phil Mickelson lives near San
- 46:43Speaker 2: Diego and there's a beautiful country club. He plays at,
- 46:47Speaker 2: the Farms Golf Club Rancho, Santa Fe, beautiful area, and
- 46:51Speaker 2: apparently that's where he goes, that's where he practices, that's
- 46:53Speaker 2: where he warms up before a tournament. However, at this
- 46:58Speaker 2: club the other day, apparently it says he made non
- 47:03Speaker 2: consensual and inappropriate physical contact with a female employee. Huh.
- 47:12Speaker 2: The woman rejected his advances, reported the matter to her supervisors.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Club officials took the allegation seriously, investigated for themselves, and
- 47:22Speaker 2: moved quickly. Nicholson had gone out to play. In fact,
- 47:27Speaker 2: he was in the middle of a round and officials
- 47:30Speaker 2: from the club went up to him on the course
- 47:32Speaker 2: and told him to vacate the premises. WHOA. Now, I
- 47:38Speaker 2: would imagine every country club has surveillance video. You know,
- 47:43Speaker 2: you got the cameras everywhere, most businesses have them. Now,
- 47:47Speaker 2: So whatever the woman told them, I imagine the first
- 47:49Speaker 2: thing he did is go look at the security tapes
- 47:51Speaker 2: and they saw that stuff that backed up what she
- 47:54Speaker 2: was saying. So Micholson, now his attorney did deny it.
- 48:02Speaker 2: He put out some long statement about there's plenty of
- 48:05Speaker 2: misinformation in the news and there's much misinformation on this story,
- 48:09Speaker 2: although he didn't come out and deny it. But apparently
- 48:12Speaker 2: he's been barred from the club forever. Now, Micholson, who
- 48:16Speaker 2: spent this whole life in golf, should know one thing
- 48:19Speaker 2: about these country clubs. They are really serious about the
- 48:22Speaker 2: rules of this kind of stuff. You know, in any
- 48:25Speaker 2: top country club, you're not allowed to wear jeans. You're
- 48:27Speaker 2: not allowed to wear a T shirt. You're not. They
- 48:29Speaker 2: got all these rules, not allowed to talk on your phone,
- 48:31Speaker 2: and they take them real seriously. I mean, you'll get
- 48:34Speaker 2: suspended and you'll get you can be terminated for two
- 48:38Speaker 2: or three violations. But groping a female employee, you can't
- 48:43Speaker 2: do that, obviously, but he should know that. So I
- 48:47Speaker 2: don't know, maybe there was a little I don't know
- 48:49Speaker 2: if he was drinking, but maybe well, who knows. Hey,
- 48:53Speaker 2: Tim Waltz could be in a lot of trouble. You know,
- 48:57Speaker 2: the Department of Justice and the Trump administration and Vice
- 49:02Speaker 2: President Vance leading this. They've been investigating all these fraud
- 49:06Speaker 2: claims in Minnesota, and they're going after Tim Waltz. They're
- 49:10Speaker 2: going after the Attorney General, Keith Allison, two very dirty,
- 49:14Speaker 2: sleazy guys. They apparently now have uncovered thirty whistleblowers that
- 49:21Speaker 2: sounded the alarm on fraud and were silenced by the
- 49:24Speaker 2: Democrats running the state, explicitly ordered to stop looking into
- 49:29Speaker 2: the fraud. And then after they try to be whistleblowers,
- 49:33Speaker 2: many of them got investigated by the state, tracking their phones,
- 49:39Speaker 2: photographing their cars, even collecting personal information on them. So
- 49:43Speaker 2: this would be Tim Waltz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Apparently Vice President Vance has already asked the Justice Department
- 49:52Speaker 2: to open an investigation into Tim Waltz, so he could
- 49:56Speaker 2: have a real problem. Keith Allison to another really bad guy. Hey,
- 50:00Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one
- 50:03Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 50:07Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. Get Mark on demand by setting
- 50:12Speaker 2: up presead for his podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 50:16Speaker 7: Now back to Mark Simone on WOR.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Hey, you know we're getting a lot of people. I'm
- 50:26Speaker 2: getting all these emails from people. Monica Crowley was on earlier.
- 50:29Speaker 2: She's talking about all the big events, you know, the
- 50:31Speaker 2: ships coming to New York Harbor, the fireworks, the biggest
- 50:35Speaker 2: fireworks display in the history, all the Washington events. So
- 50:38Speaker 2: people are asking that where can you get all the information?
- 50:41Speaker 2: I should mention this is the website. If you want
- 50:45Speaker 2: to note about all these America two hundred and fiftieth
- 50:48Speaker 2: Birthday events, go to Freedom two fifty dot org. Freedom
- 50:54Speaker 2: two fifty dot org because you can get you can
- 50:58Speaker 2: go to these events, many of them. Get the fire
- 50:59Speaker 2: works in DC. As Monica Carle explained, it'll be biggest
- 51:03Speaker 2: fireworks display in history. It will be almost one million fireworks.
- 51:07Speaker 2: I think it was like eight hundred and sixty thousand,
- 51:10Speaker 2: she said, So just go to Freedom two fifty dot
- 51:14Speaker 2: Org get all the details. Let's go to Linda and
- 51:18Speaker 2: Long Island. Linda, how you doing?
- 51:21Speaker 15: How are you?
- 51:23Speaker 2: No? No, no, no, it's deep. Oh thanks, it's a
- 51:27Speaker 2: deep one. How are you it's not highest?
- 51:29Speaker 5: Yes?
- 51:32Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks? She spent Barrett Media the great Bible of
- 51:37Speaker 2: the radio industry. I got this great honor, the gold
- 51:40Speaker 2: Standard Award. But go ahead, what were you going to say?
- 51:44Speaker 15: Okay, are you commented about the vice president bands going
- 51:48Speaker 15: on that low life show? That this is why I
- 51:51Speaker 15: am another reason I'm for Rubio. I mean, he was
- 51:55Speaker 15: so great, you know, it's unbelievable he should be and
- 52:00Speaker 15: they're talking about him Rubio not dance.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Well they are. Everybody's talking about it. Yeah, yeah, all right,
- 52:08Speaker 2: Well there's gonna be a lot of people. There's a Rubio,
- 52:11Speaker 2: there's vance a possibility for twenty twenty eight. And keep
- 52:14Speaker 2: your eye on Scott Bessen. He's pretty good. Well, let's
- 52:17Speaker 2: go to Charles in Miller Place. Charles, how you.
- 52:20Speaker 16: Doing good, Good Mark.
- 52:22Speaker 17: I just had a quick question.
- 52:24Speaker 5: If Tom Holman comes to New York and it's not
- 52:27Speaker 5: allowed to go into the jails, then when he goes
- 52:30Speaker 5: to the individual neighborhoods, he's not only going to pick
- 52:32Speaker 5: up the people they're looking for, but family members as well.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I would imagine, Well, yeah, I mean he wants to
- 52:40Speaker 2: If you got a criminal, illegal alien, has committed crimes
- 52:42Speaker 2: and they're in jail, they want to go there. Two
- 52:44Speaker 2: guys can pick him up, put some handcuffs on him
- 52:46Speaker 2: and take them away. If they got to go out
- 52:48Speaker 2: into the world and do it, you're going to eat
- 52:50Speaker 2: twenty five guys. You're right, they're gonna have to go
- 52:52Speaker 2: to his house. It's going to disrupt the whole thing.
- 52:54Speaker 2: But that's crazy Kathy Hokele and crazy mom Donnie. That's
- 52:59Speaker 2: the way they want to do things. Let's go to
- 53:01Speaker 2: Rich and Myrtle Beach. Rich, how you doing.
- 53:04Speaker 11: I'm baking in the shade. We got our first real
- 53:06Speaker 11: day of summer. It's gonna feel like one hundred and
- 53:08Speaker 11: three almost every day now, and this is gonna be
- 53:11Speaker 11: it for the rest of any ocean has already eighty
- 53:13Speaker 11: three degrees.
- 53:14Speaker 2: We got the New Yorkers a minute real field today
- 53:17Speaker 2: one hundred and two. We're pretty close, that's right.
- 53:20Speaker 11: But the ocean up there is only going to be
- 53:22Speaker 11: sixty sixty two degrees. That's what was great about Long
- 53:24Speaker 11: Island was no matter how how it got, the ocean
- 53:27Speaker 11: even by July fourth might be seventy two and never
- 53:29Speaker 11: really got above seventy five or seventy seven. But sometimes
- 53:32Speaker 11: in the summer down here, the swimming pools ninety and
- 53:35Speaker 11: the ocean's almost ninety degrees. So you just see you
- 53:37Speaker 11: and your bake all day and it is not as
- 53:40Speaker 11: bad as Florida. But you know, all your New Yorkers
- 53:42Speaker 11: stay up there, don't come down here, especially if your Liberals.
- 53:44Speaker 11: But hey, my question for you is all those crooks
- 53:48Speaker 11: in Congress, do they have access to get into that
- 53:51Speaker 11: SpaceX stock before the rest of us? Or is it
- 53:53Speaker 11: only for the employees and musk and the family members.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but they didn't want to get you know, that
- 53:57Speaker 2: doesn't mean thing to them. That's SpaceX stock. I'm looking
- 54:00Speaker 2: it's going to drop a little. It's down to one
- 54:02Speaker 2: fifty five. It had been up near one seventy five
- 54:04Speaker 2: in now.
- 54:06Speaker 11: Just wonder if those crooks and commons. They always in
- 54:09Speaker 11: trading it.
- 54:09Speaker 2: They don't need to get into that. They got better stuff.
- 54:12Speaker 2: So if you're in Congress and you find out, now,
- 54:14Speaker 2: if you find out who's going to get a big
- 54:15Speaker 2: government contract to make weapons before anybody, you go buy
- 54:19Speaker 2: that stuff.
- 54:20Speaker 11: Right.
- 54:21Speaker 2: They don't need to full around with the SpaceX. They
- 54:23Speaker 2: got a SpaceX every day that they can do. But
- 54:26Speaker 2: it's a good question. Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 54:28Speaker 2: Richard and Bayshore. Richard, how you doing.
- 54:31Speaker 11: I'm doing well.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Mark.
- 54:33Speaker 17: Regarding Platner, I don't know if anybody's remembered to point
- 54:35Speaker 17: out that the SS was responsible for the murder of
- 54:39Speaker 17: any four American prisoners of war during the Battle of
- 54:42Speaker 17: the Bulge at Melmany, Belgium in December of nineteen forty four.
- 54:47Speaker 17: So it's not as viol anti Semitism, but it's a
- 54:50Speaker 17: murder of Americans as well. That that's symbolized.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Well, that tattoo that the Platiner has, it's not just
- 54:56Speaker 2: a Nazi tattoo. It's and it's not just an SS tattoo.
- 55:00Speaker 2: It's a certain division of the SS, and it was
- 55:02Speaker 2: the division that ran the death camps. There's no dirtier
- 55:06Speaker 2: tattoo you could put on yourself. Let's go to Tony
- 55:08Speaker 2: and Staten Island. Tony, how you doing.
- 55:11Speaker 16: Good morning, sir. I have a question for you. Yes,
- 55:14Speaker 16: it with an article and the other day in the
- 55:17Speaker 16: New York Post that said New York State ranks number
- 55:21Speaker 16: two in the nation with front door thefts by delivery people. Now,
- 55:26Speaker 16: I've had deliveries by FedEx, Amazon, whoever, and they either
- 55:32Speaker 16: lot in the rain or they're there for hours. Would
- 55:35Speaker 16: it be you know, two saying to ask that they
- 55:40Speaker 16: ring the doorbell and notify the neighbor.
- 55:43Speaker 2: You know, but if they ring the bell, you're going
- 55:45Speaker 2: to come out. You're going to talk to guys here
- 55:47Speaker 2: off he's got a million packages to deliver. Yeah, I know.
- 55:53Speaker 2: They haven't figured that out. It's a good question, Tony.
- 55:55Speaker 2: They haven't figured that out. It's not a problem. Like
- 55:57Speaker 2: in the middle of New York City, you're bringing the
- 55:59Speaker 2: apartment bill, there's a doorman, there's a front desk, you
- 56:01Speaker 2: leave you every everything's fine, everything's fine. But suburbs, you're
- 56:06Speaker 2: leaving it in front of a door. You don't know
- 56:08Speaker 2: if they're going to come home in two hours or
- 56:09Speaker 2: two weeks. You just don't know a lot of porch
- 56:12Speaker 2: pirates out there. Hey, when we come back, Roger Friedman,
- 56:15Speaker 2: the Great Entertainment Reporter, we'll talk to him next.
- 56:19Speaker 1: From the w o R Life Back Studios, Bill Mark Zimon.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Show Well, Roger Friedman, the Great Entertainment Reporter. You should
- 56:29Speaker 2: check his website showbiz for one one dot com, Showbiz
- 56:34Speaker 2: for one one dot com. This new stuff every day.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Up there, Roger Friedman, how you doing?
- 56:39Speaker 7: I'm great.
- 56:40Speaker 2: How are you good? I've been hearing about this Steven
- 56:43Speaker 2: Spielberg film Day of Disclosure. This is like the film
- 56:47Speaker 2: closure disclosure, disclosure disclosure. Well, I heard a big blockbuster
- 56:52Speaker 2: every it's going to be the biggest, But you said
- 56:55Speaker 2: it didn't do so well at the box office. It didn't.
- 56:57Speaker 18: It's having a soft opening so far, which I'm surprised by.
- 57:01Speaker 18: But the weather was terrible last night, and this weekend
- 57:05Speaker 18: we've got the World Cup and everyone's going to watch
- 57:07Speaker 18: the NBA tomorrow night. No one's going to go to
- 57:10Speaker 18: the movies. Everyone's going to be watching The Knicks. But
- 57:13Speaker 18: you know, it's a great movie and everyone should get
- 57:16Speaker 18: up to see it tonight.
- 57:17Speaker 7: I loved it.
- 57:19Speaker 18: Emily Blunt is terrific and the story is really really good.
- 57:23Speaker 18: And if you loved ET and Close Encounters of the
- 57:27Speaker 18: Third kind, this is sort of the unofficial third part
- 57:30Speaker 18: of that story where the whole revelation of what the
- 57:36Speaker 18: government has been keeping from us about UFOs for the
- 57:39Speaker 18: last seventy nine years is exposed finally, and it's great.
- 57:45Speaker 7: I thought it was great. It was very exciting.
- 57:47Speaker 2: Not Spielberg. I would imagine. It's a big budget film.
- 57:50Speaker 2: But there wasn't a lot of publicity or marketing about this,
- 57:52Speaker 2: was there.
- 57:54Speaker 7: No, there wasn't. I don't know why either.
- 57:56Speaker 18: Universal was very strange about the way they marketed this movie.
- 58:01Speaker 18: They didn't do much in New York. They just had
- 58:04Speaker 18: really their big screenings in LA. They held it here
- 58:09Speaker 18: till the last minute Monday night, there was a premiere
- 58:13Speaker 18: here in New York. But it was it was. It
- 58:16Speaker 18: was on the small side. Yeah, And I don't know.
- 58:19Speaker 18: I don't know why. I can't explain it, and no
- 58:21Speaker 18: one can explain it to me. But it doesn't matter
- 58:26Speaker 18: because the movie is terrific and it would be terrible
- 58:29Speaker 18: if people didn't get out and see it, because I
- 58:32Speaker 18: think once they do see it, they're gonna they'll they'll
- 58:34Speaker 18: want to go back and see it again. I'd like
- 58:36Speaker 18: to see it a second time. The Truth Wow, yeah, yeah,
- 58:39Speaker 18: because the story is it's not complicated, but there's things
- 58:43Speaker 18: in it good that are going on that you'd like
- 58:45Speaker 18: to go back and see again.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Well, if you don't know, it's the new Spielberg movie.
- 58:49Speaker 2: It's called Disclosure Days. It's about we find out there
- 58:53Speaker 2: are aliens.
- 58:56Speaker 18: From find out the aliens have been have been here
- 58:59Speaker 18: for seventy nine years and and I don't want to
- 59:04Speaker 18: give it away, but it's worth getting to the end
- 59:07Speaker 18: of this movie. It's very cool at the end, well,
- 59:10Speaker 18: very very cool these aliens.
- 59:11Speaker 2: What I can tell her. By the ending, Tom Holman
- 59:14Speaker 2: shows up and rounds them all up, these aliens. Hey,
- 59:20Speaker 2: how did the Tony Awards do?
- 59:23Speaker 18: The Tony Awards? You know they did all right. They
- 59:25Speaker 18: did the same numbers as they did last year. But
- 59:28Speaker 18: people were a little disappointed because they thought they would
- 59:30Speaker 18: do better. They had no competition this year. Last year
- 59:33Speaker 18: they had the NBA Finals against them. This year they
- 59:37Speaker 18: had nothing all night. And I don't know why.
- 59:40Speaker 7: The show.
- 59:41Speaker 18: I was at the show at Radio City and it
- 59:44Speaker 18: was a very good show. It's very well produced, but
- 59:47Speaker 18: maybe the order of it was a little weird. There's
- 59:50Speaker 18: a new producer involved, and the order of the show
- 59:52Speaker 18: is a little weird. They were giving out awards sort
- 59:55Speaker 18: of randomly. But I'll tell you Pink was the host
- 59:59Speaker 18: and she it was fabulous. She did the opening number,
- 1:00:03Speaker 18: was great and had like one hundred and seventy people
- 1:00:07Speaker 18: on stage of Radio City. And then she came back
- 1:00:10Speaker 18: later and did the anniversary of the musical Chicago and
- 1:00:15Speaker 18: it was like everybody said, she should go right into
- 1:00:17Speaker 18: the show on Broadway.
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: She's perfect.
- 1:00:20Speaker 18: So she was great, and there were a lot of
- 1:00:22Speaker 18: terrific people coming and going on stage. Julia Luis Dreysus
- 1:00:26Speaker 18: was there and Bernadette Peters. You know, there was a
- 1:00:31Speaker 18: great tribute to the Book of Mormon that was a
- 1:00:33Speaker 18: lot of fun. So I don't know the numbers were
- 1:00:37Speaker 18: as good as they were last year, so the same
- 1:00:39Speaker 18: number of people watched, But you know, right now we're
- 1:00:42Speaker 18: in this great time on Broadway.
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: We have a lot of terrific shows.
- 1:00:47Speaker 18: Ragtime won a lot of awards the other night, and
- 1:00:49Speaker 18: that is the show everybody wants to see at Lincoln Center. Yeah,
- 1:00:53Speaker 18: it's going to close in August, so we have to
- 1:00:55Speaker 18: rush in there and go see it. And there's just
- 1:00:59Speaker 18: a lot of good I was playing right now.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: How's Broadway doing money wise? Is that everything's good?
- 1:01:04Speaker 18: But yeah, everything's good money wise, it's good. It's also
- 1:01:08Speaker 18: we're right in that period between the school holiday school
- 1:01:13Speaker 18: holiday season. The numbers were way up and they'll be
- 1:01:16Speaker 18: back up again as soon as school is out in June,
- 1:01:19Speaker 18: and all summer should be very very good.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Now, Roger Friedman, let me ask you about this Taylor
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Swift all of a sudden, you know, yeah, she said,
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: the football game a gets a ton of attention. Suddenly,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: she said, a lot of football games getting a ton
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: of attention. Why was she all of a sudden at
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: a Knicks game? Nobody's ever seen her at a Knicks
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: game before?
- 1:01:36Speaker 18: Well, she I checked. I went back and looked. She
- 1:01:40Speaker 18: went to two Knicks games in twenty fourteen. Oh, then
- 1:01:43Speaker 18: she went to it at the Garden, so that's twelve
- 1:01:45Speaker 18: years ago. And then and who knows why she went then?
- 1:01:49Speaker 18: And then she went last year she went with her
- 1:01:52Speaker 18: fiancee Travis Kelce to a Cavaliers game in Cleveland against
- 1:01:56Speaker 18: the Knicks. Because he's a big Cavaliers fan. So why
- 1:02:00Speaker 18: was she sitting in the front row with her girlfriends
- 1:02:04Speaker 18: two nights ago. Well, the word is that she's getting
- 1:02:07Speaker 18: married in Madison Square Garden on July third. They're actually
- 1:02:10Speaker 18: taking the garden is closed for six days, which is
- 1:02:13Speaker 18: very unusual, and they're going to take over I don't know,
- 1:02:17Speaker 18: five hundred seats on the floor and put on their
- 1:02:20Speaker 18: put on a wedding and they say this is the
- 1:02:22Speaker 18: only secure place they can do it. So I think
- 1:02:25Speaker 18: she came to look at her wedding venue the other night.
- 1:02:29Speaker 18: That's basically I don't know if she tried the food
- 1:02:31Speaker 18: for I don't know. It's all have hot dogs for
- 1:02:33Speaker 18: the catering. But if she really has this wedding at
- 1:02:36Speaker 18: the garden, that's why she was there. And that's the
- 1:02:39Speaker 18: only thing that makes any sense, because why is she
- 1:02:41Speaker 18: up and dancing at a Knicks game. On the other hand,
- 1:02:44Speaker 18: she gave them good luck. You know, maybe she'll go
- 1:02:47Speaker 18: out to San Antonio tomorrow night and continue to give
- 1:02:50Speaker 18: them good luck.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, I think she got her publicity.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: That's it for then she got her publicity.
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: She's had a big week.
- 1:02:56Speaker 18: Actually, on my day, she was at the Knicks. She
- 1:03:02Speaker 18: also did the Disney premiere in La for Toy Story
- 1:03:07Speaker 18: five because she has the song from the movie.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:10Speaker 18: Last and last night she was at the Songwriters Hall
- 1:03:12Speaker 18: of Fame where she gave a twenty minute acceptance speech
- 1:03:16Speaker 18: as the youngest female ever to be inducted in the
- 1:03:20Speaker 18: Songwriters Hall of Fame. And Steven Spielberg, who we were
- 1:03:23Speaker 18: just talking about, inducted her, which was very strange because
- 1:03:27Speaker 18: we didn't even think she knew him, but somehow they
- 1:03:29Speaker 18: got together and he came and gave her a beautiful induction.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:03:34Speaker 18: So this has been Taylor Swift week all week and
- 1:03:37Speaker 18: the wedding will be next.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Hey, Roger Freeman, I saw this video someone did of
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: the you know, Stephen Colbert is gone, and apparently they've
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: cleaned out the ed Sullivan Theater. So somebody did a
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: video of the whole theater. It's like almost back to
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: ed Sullivan. They totally cleaned out. Is there any word
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: on what's going to happen with the Ed Sullivan Theater?
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Will CBS keep it rumored?
- 1:03:57Speaker 18: I know, yeah, I don't know if CBS is going
- 1:03:59Speaker 18: to keep it. People have suggested that it become a
- 1:04:03Speaker 18: Broadway theater, but it's actually not big enough to be
- 1:04:06Speaker 18: a Broadway theater. A Broadway theater seats a thousand people,
- 1:04:09Speaker 18: and there's not There aren't a thousand seats in that theater.
- 1:04:12Speaker 18: There's no way to get them in. It wasn't made
- 1:04:14Speaker 18: for that. It was made for TV. It was made
- 1:04:16Speaker 18: for d Sullivan and it's only been a TV theater.
- 1:04:21Speaker 18: So it's unclear what they're going to do, but hopefully
- 1:04:24Speaker 18: they'll keep it. CBS will keep it, you know, CBS
- 1:04:27Speaker 18: isn't such flux right now with new owners and a
- 1:04:31Speaker 18: lot of contentiousness where it comes to the news side.
- 1:04:35Speaker 18: We're hearing about sixty minutes, losing a lot of correspondence.
- 1:04:39Speaker 18: There's a lot of bad stuff going on. So everything
- 1:04:42Speaker 18: is sort of up in the air there, and maybe
- 1:04:44Speaker 18: they haven't decided yet what they want to do with it.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but you could turn it back into a Broadway
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: you know, I'm sure you've been in there. That stage
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: comes way out into the I think could cut it
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: back to normal, put another few hundred seats in.
- 1:04:56Speaker 18: They might be able to. I mean, the main thing
- 1:04:59Speaker 18: that everybody wants us for it to remain a theater.
- 1:05:02Speaker 18: So that's what we want, and we want to keep
- 1:05:05Speaker 18: on Solivan's name on it because obviously it's been so important.
- 1:05:10Speaker 18: So we'll see what happens, but hopefully it'll stay the same.
- 1:05:14Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Hey, it says Mick Jagger will be on the Today
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Show tomorrow. What is Mick Jagger running around doing the
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Today Show for?
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Mick Jagger.
- 1:05:22Speaker 18: Okay, So we had the Paul McCartney album, which we've
- 1:05:24Speaker 18: discussed a lot, you and I, and now the Rolling
- 1:05:27Speaker 18: Stones are coming with their album on July sixteenth, and
- 1:05:31Speaker 18: Mick is starting to do the publicity for it and
- 1:05:35Speaker 18: I have listened to it.
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: They actually sent me.
- 1:05:38Speaker 18: This album pretty early, and I've spent the last couple
- 1:05:42Speaker 18: of days listening to it, and I got to tell
- 1:05:43Speaker 18: you it's great. And there's a song on there called
- 1:05:46Speaker 18: Mister Charm that's definitely going to be a hit. They've
- 1:05:51Speaker 18: already put out two really good singles, but this one's
- 1:05:53Speaker 18: going to be. This one's going to be the one.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: And the album is called Foreign Tongues. It comes.
- 1:06:00Speaker 18: It's coming in like fifteen different varieties of vinyl colors
- 1:06:03Speaker 18: and packaging and everything, and the CD and it's really
- 1:06:07Speaker 18: a great summer album. It really rocks and the production
- 1:06:12Speaker 18: is terrific. You know this one guy, his name is
- 1:06:14Speaker 18: Andrew Watt. He produced the McCartney album. He produced this
- 1:06:18Speaker 18: Rolling Stones album and the one from a couple of
- 1:06:21Speaker 18: years ago called Hackney Diamonds. He's really got a knack
- 1:06:25Speaker 18: for producing these legacy artists and it's really worth getting them.
- 1:06:30Speaker 18: The McCartney album's terrific. I kept it in my car
- 1:06:33Speaker 18: going like crazy. And the Stones album is totally it's
- 1:06:38Speaker 18: a beach hit. But that mister Charm is going to
- 1:06:40Speaker 18: be a big one.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: A beach hit the Stones. That have to be an older,
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: elderly Florida beach for them.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: No, I don't know.
- 1:06:49Speaker 18: If I were on you know, Jacob Briest Beach and
- 1:06:52Speaker 18: I had the radio on, I'd be listening to mister Charm.
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: That would be fun.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but you got twenty five year olds going, who
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: the hell is that you're listening to?
- 1:07:01Speaker 18: I know they want to hear Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. Yeah,
- 1:07:05Speaker 18: this new guy, there's a new guy by the way.
- 1:07:08Speaker 18: Uh his name is Malcolm Todd.
- 1:07:11Speaker 10: Uh.
- 1:07:12Speaker 18: Everyone who's listening to us is probably too old for
- 1:07:15Speaker 18: Malcolm Todd, but he's young he's twenty two and he
- 1:07:18Speaker 18: is the hot guy for this summer. Yeah, he's going
- 1:07:22Speaker 18: to be the pop stud, the big he'll be bigger
- 1:07:25Speaker 18: than Biab this summer.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Very good guy, Malcolm Todd, remember the name Malcolm Todd. Everybody,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: go read Showbiz for one one dot com. Those are
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: just some stories. There's a lot more up there, and
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: there's new stories.
- 1:07:35Speaker 18: And go see Sting at the opera. I saw him
- 1:07:37Speaker 18: this week. Yeah, yeah, it was fabulous. The place was packed.
- 1:07:41Speaker 18: It was packed with celebrities. The opera is fabulous and
- 1:07:46Speaker 18: it's called the Last Ship and it's at it's just
- 1:07:48Speaker 18: there through Sunday. It's just eight more performances or seven
- 1:07:51Speaker 18: more performances.
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: A totally worth it.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: And you want to know everything, you just go to
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Roger Friedman's website Showbiz for one dot com, Showbiz for
