- 0:39Speaker 2: Amy, you're wearing a Christmas sweater a reindeer.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Oh, I can't know. I can't. Oh, they're Oh.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's one of those whatever the hell you call those
- 0:52Speaker 2: Christmas Yeah, it's really it's really good.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it is excellent. Wait, you should post that. Have
- 0:58Speaker 1: you already posted?
- 0:59Speaker 3: We post because you know, we.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Have our Christmas party and they have an ugly sweater
- 1:04Speaker 4: contest and look it even has a couple of years.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh wow, you know, tell me a little bit about
- 1:11Speaker 2: this Christmas party?
- 1:12Speaker 1: Is it a kfi iHeart thing? Because I never get.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Invited because you don't read your email.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I actually I don't think. I don't have an email address.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Could explain it.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I do not have an email.
- 1:25Speaker 3: That's where the invitations were sent out. Uh.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Oh, okay, I'm sure you're invited, Bill handle.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know when.
- 1:32Speaker 3: When is it today?
- 1:36Speaker 4: I get eleven, which is why I'm wearing the ugly
- 1:38Speaker 4: sweater as in eleven o'clock in the morning.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yes, I didn't know that. And so what kind of
- 1:46Speaker 1: food are they going to have that they traded for?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Because they'll actually spend any money, so it's all trade for.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Well this way, what kind of commercials?
- 1:55Speaker 2: What commercial products are we now hustling?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Well, let's see, it's Prania. I don't know.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It's his fun activities, delicious food, open bar and raffle prices.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Okay, open bar, Shasta Cola. Okay, you won't.
- 2:09Speaker 1: See any name brand open bar. Well, they can't.
- 2:14Speaker 2: They can't have anybody drink because that's out of the question.
- 2:18Speaker 5: No, they've had people drink at it those things before,
- 2:21Speaker 5: haven't they.
- 2:22Speaker 1: No, No, they don't do alcohol.
- 2:24Speaker 3: You've got to sign a waiver.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I don't even think signing waivers though.
- 2:28Speaker 3: I don't think here's a problem with soft drink station.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think it's open soft drinks because here's
- 2:33Speaker 2: the problem with alcohol, and this is a legal issue,
- 2:36Speaker 2: is that the station is responsible for under the Drama Act.
- 2:41Speaker 2: If someone gets drunk and goes out and kills someone.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It gets legally a little bit sticky. So no, when
- 2:50Speaker 2: I have a party, there's no alcohol. But that's more
- 2:53Speaker 2: a question of spending money on alcohol than anything else.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And we cut a deal. Oh, my little one, is.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Your budget is pretty much drank up by your wife.
- 3:04Speaker 2: No, my budget is calling up everybody I've ever known
- 3:07Speaker 2: and seeing if I can get it for free. And
- 3:08Speaker 2: someone's on someone have to mute by the way over there.
- 3:12Speaker 2: That's great, all right, So there's Amy, there's Neil con O,
- 3:17Speaker 2: good morning, Good morning Bill, and Will the coleschreiber Man.
- 3:21Speaker 1: How are you? Good morning, Bill, don't feel bad. I
- 3:24Speaker 1: was not invited either.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Good that makes me and you have an email address
- 3:28Speaker 2: which is even better.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And good morning Anne.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Okay you say that was that was my next question?
- 3:37Speaker 1: All right?
- 3:38Speaker 6: And is not an open bar?
- 3:40Speaker 1: That's correct? Neil, are you going it? No? You and I?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Okay?
- 3:45Speaker 6: At noon?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Okay? Cono? Are you going no chance? See this is a.
- 3:50Speaker 3: H Yes, I'll be representing the morning.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You'll be representing everybody with your ugly sweater.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, yesterday we were talking about Africa. I'm
- 3:59Speaker 2: trying to put together African African trips like a bucket
- 4:02Speaker 2: list trip, you know, once in a lifetime, and I
- 4:06Speaker 2: have gone, but Linz is not.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So we're thinking of going to Africa.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And we talked about a balloon ride over the Massai
- 4:14Speaker 2: Mara or the Serengetti which you took, which is a
- 4:20Speaker 2: magic ride, and I said, I don't want to be
- 4:22Speaker 2: with twenty people in balloon. So I got quoted yesterday
- 4:27Speaker 2: a private balloon ride for two people. And when the
- 4:31Speaker 2: quote came in, I called them back and said, no, no,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you don't understand. I just want to ride in the balloon.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I'd rather I'm not buying the balloon. And okay, and
- 4:44Speaker 2: the people that weren't there get like two dollars a month,
- 4:47Speaker 2: you know, the folks that work at these camps.
- 4:51Speaker 5: So anyway, well, basically, wouldn't you be paying like they're
- 4:56Speaker 5: supposed to be twenty people on it, wouldn't you be?
- 4:59Speaker 1: No, No, they have have smaller balloons.
- 5:01Speaker 2: It depends on the size of the basket and the
- 5:03Speaker 2: size of the balloon itself.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Okay, how much was the envelope? Come on, you know what?
- 5:08Speaker 3: I dollars ten though?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, no, it.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Was no, no, no, no, no, it's I think it
- 5:14Speaker 2: was between two and three thousand dollars.
- 5:15Speaker 1: But that is still a fortune.
- 5:17Speaker 3: That's why you go with ten or twenty people.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Because yeah, because then Acosta then a costa four five
- 5:22Speaker 2: hundred dollars each.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It's worth it.
- 5:24Speaker 1: No, I'm going, There's no question I'm going.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I just don't want to be with a bunch of
- 5:29Speaker 2: unwashed people that are getting airsick and puking all over me.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Nobody got sick and puked. Well. When I went on
- 5:35Speaker 3: my brow.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And the last one that I did go on with
- 5:37Speaker 2: twenty people on it, there was a Korean pilot who
- 5:44Speaker 2: thought he was a comedian and he was doing nothing
- 5:48Speaker 2: but bad jokes in a Korean accent. He was a
- 5:53Speaker 2: Korean who immigrated to Africa. Very strange anyway. So I'm
- 5:58Speaker 2: trying to figure out. I'm trying to put together and
- 6:01Speaker 2: I don't know. It's getting it's getting a little pricey,
- 6:03Speaker 2: but it is a it is a once in a lifetime,
- 6:06Speaker 2: it's a bucket list thing.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So I'll report more later on.
- 6:10Speaker 5: I think funny the way you spend money or where
- 6:13Speaker 5: you don't spend money, it's weird to me.
- 6:16Speaker 2: You know.
- 6:16Speaker 1: How is that? How is that not?
- 6:19Speaker 6: I mean you will never remember that cost versus the memory?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Oh yes I will. Oh I can tell you exactly
- 6:27Speaker 1: how much.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I can tell you what a meal costs me when
- 6:29Speaker 2: I went out twenty two years ago to a restaurant
- 6:33Speaker 2: in Italy or in France.
- 6:35Speaker 5: I once paid fifteen hundred dollars to have real snow,
- 6:40Speaker 5: well man made snow put in my front yard for
- 6:43Speaker 5: Christmas Eve for my nephews and nieces.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Very cool. Wow, that is cool.
- 6:48Speaker 6: I want this Christmas of the year now.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I once spend fifteen high dollars on snow, but not
- 6:55Speaker 2: quite the same snow as you're described me during law school.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Matter of fact, we went out in the front yard.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I put that in a mirror, took my razor blade
- 7:06Speaker 2: and cut it up. All right, enough, guys, will I
- 7:11Speaker 2: did say good I did say good morning to you,
- 7:13Speaker 2: didn't I good morning?
- 7:14Speaker 1: I have to tell you you're.
- 7:16Speaker 2: The memory is you are etched in my memory?
- 7:20Speaker 1: You really are? Okay, guys, let's do it.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It's time for handle on the news on this Thursday morning,
- 7:26Speaker 2: Amy Neil and me and lead story.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Well, I no surprise. Yesterday the Fed.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Did cut interest rates, although again it's usually it's a
- 7:39Speaker 2: not unanimous.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It wasn't.
- 7:41Speaker 2: There definitely is dissension in the FED and the chair
- 7:47Speaker 2: said that he is looking at rate cuts because, uh,
- 7:51Speaker 2: the economy needs some help.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And I'm going to do a story later on.
- 7:56Speaker 2: That really talks about what the job rate is and
- 8:01Speaker 2: it's it's sobering, it really is, and it has to.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Do with or I think maybe later on in the news,
- 8:07Speaker 1: it has to do with.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Under stating the unemployed, the unemployment numbers, and there are
- 8:14Speaker 2: a lot of politics there.
- 8:17Speaker 3: All right, get out, that's the order from a judge.
- 8:22Speaker 4: They said any remaining National Guard troops in Los Angeles
- 8:25Speaker 4: need to leave, and also the control of the National
- 8:30Speaker 4: Guard needs to go back to the state. This was
- 8:33Speaker 4: from District Court Judge Charles Bryer in San Francisco, granting
- 8:38Speaker 4: a preliminary injunction against the use of the National Guard
- 8:43Speaker 4: troops by the Trump administration to secure federal buildings and
- 8:47Speaker 4: protect federal officers following the immigration raid protests.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Back in mind, I will tell you what's going to
- 8:53Speaker 2: happen on this one. Of course, the Feds are instantly
- 8:57Speaker 2: appealing it. It's going to go up to Supreme Court
- 8:59Speaker 2: this many other issues, and if you look at this
- 9:02Speaker 2: court has done, this Court has viewed the presidency, not
- 9:05Speaker 2: necessarily the Trump's presidency, the presidency of having virtually unbridled power.
- 9:13Speaker 2: If the president calls an emergency, it is an emergency.
- 9:18Speaker 2: During one of the previous ones where the president was
- 9:22Speaker 2: arguing he is immune from prosecution, and the Supreme Court
- 9:26Speaker 2: said he is completely immune from prosecution. And Kagan asks
- 9:31Speaker 2: the Solicitor General, who is arguing complete immunity, does that
- 9:36Speaker 2: mean that the president can order the assassination of a
- 9:40Speaker 2: rival based on his declaration that it's national security? And
- 9:45Speaker 2: he said, yes, the president has absolute immunity power as
- 9:50Speaker 2: long as he's arguing that it's some kind of national
- 9:54Speaker 2: emergency and he decides what it is. You know, this
- 9:57Speaker 2: is reminiscent during Watergate John Mitchell, who was the Attorney
- 10:01Speaker 2: General of the United States who was grabbing money in
- 10:06Speaker 2: cash for creepe the committee to re elect the president,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and he said straight out when he was asked.
- 10:15Speaker 1: You are the attorney general of this country.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Do you believe that the laws are subservient to the
- 10:22Speaker 2: president getting elected?
- 10:24Speaker 1: He said absolutely.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Richard Nixon getting re elected is more important than any
- 10:29Speaker 2: law in this country. He did four years, by the
- 10:32Speaker 2: way for that one. All right, he's going to have
- 10:37Speaker 2: the ability to call to bring out the troops simply
- 10:41Speaker 2: because he says, I think this is an emergency. There's
- 10:44Speaker 2: a demonstration. I think it's an emergency because it's his call.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Is the way it's being interpreted.
- 10:51Speaker 5: This is where we could really use some compromise. You've
- 10:54Speaker 5: got the Senate poised to reject legislation to extend the
- 10:58Speaker 5: Affordable Care Act, the tax credits there for millions.
- 11:02Speaker 6: Of Americans, and they've been going back and forth.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Even you know, you have Senator Tom Tills till Us
- 11:10Speaker 5: rather of North Carolina. He was trying to push Republicans
- 11:15Speaker 5: fellow Republicans to extend the tax credits for a short time.
- 11:19Speaker 5: He says, it's too complicated, too difficult to get done
- 11:23Speaker 5: in the limited time we have left. And the hope
- 11:26Speaker 5: was to kind of push it so they could get
- 11:28Speaker 5: some sort of compromise.
- 11:29Speaker 1: But alas it's dead.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Nope, nope, nope, And yes, if the Republicans don't come
- 11:36Speaker 2: to the table, this is a deal breaker because people
- 11:40Speaker 2: are going to start getting their bills for insurance after
- 11:42Speaker 2: January first, it's going to smash them right in the head,
- 11:46Speaker 2: and the Republicans will get the blame for it.
- 11:48Speaker 1: There's no questions about it.
- 11:49Speaker 5: To Amy this morning on wake up call, I think
- 11:53Speaker 5: she nailed. She said it's political suicide. For that, I
- 11:56Speaker 5: think it is, you.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Know, I think it doesn't make any sense to me.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Okay, it's settled.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Two colleges, UC Berkeley and Pomona College have reached settlement
- 12:10Speaker 4: agreements with Jewish groups or individuals who filed complaints about
- 12:14Speaker 4: alleged anti Semitism that stemmed from the pro Palestinian protests
- 12:20Speaker 4: in twenty twenty three and twenty four. One of them
- 12:23Speaker 4: is Yayil Native. Don't even know if I'm saying that correctly.
- 12:27Speaker 1: She yay you.
- 12:28Speaker 4: She was a visiting professor. She sued the state court,
- 12:32Speaker 4: alleging that she got rejected because of her Israeli nationality.
- 12:36Speaker 4: She wasn't invited to come back and teach again, even
- 12:39Speaker 4: though she said her class was very successful. Formal campus
- 12:43Speaker 4: investigation found that she did, in fact face discrimination. So
- 12:46Speaker 4: they settled, and then they also settled with some Pomona College.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't know even why they settled, because I think
- 12:51Speaker 1: they had a perfect.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Defense because they didn't want to deal with No.
- 12:55Speaker 1: The perfect defense.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Everybody hates the Jews, so why should we be any different?
- 13:03Speaker 1: Well, a little self conscious here.
- 13:05Speaker 5: It's probably more accurate to say everybody hates this Jew.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Oh look at you, okay, all of them. No, they're good,
- 13:14Speaker 1: most of them.
- 13:14Speaker 2: They're good people, except one guy who you know, was
- 13:18Speaker 2: a cabinet maker. You know, didn't make cabinets, you see,
- 13:23Speaker 2: it was cabinet maker, the pife. He probably built houses
- 13:27Speaker 2: with his foster father, Joseph, the same way his father,
- 13:31Speaker 2: his foster father.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Did well, not as I mean Joseph, his non father father.
- 13:37Speaker 1: But I'll tell you one thing.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The cabinets that he did build were immaculately built. I
- 13:43Speaker 2: mean they were absolutely perfect.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Okay, moving on, Yes, indeed, so President Donald Trump said
- 13:50Speaker 5: just yesterday that US officials seized a very large, huge
- 13:56Speaker 5: oil tanker. This was off the coast of Venezuela. This
- 14:01Speaker 5: keeps escalating, and oh yeah, give me insight Bill as
- 14:05Speaker 5: to where this is.
- 14:05Speaker 6: No, this is it's just this sheer punishment for the.
- 14:10Speaker 1: President is right.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Maduro is as sleazy as the President says he is.
- 14:14Speaker 2: The guy is corrupt beyond corrupt, is in bed with
- 14:18Speaker 2: all of the drug.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Card the cartel people. The problem is what do you
- 14:21Speaker 1: do with it?
- 14:22Speaker 2: And he's going after Venezuela where Colombia is the problem.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Where it really is China. The issue is fentanyl.
- 14:29Speaker 2: There's no huge death rate from cocaine that is Colombia
- 14:35Speaker 2: and Venezuela. It's Venezuela also is cocaine. So yeah, he's
- 14:38Speaker 2: as splitting and they just grabbed it. You saw the
- 14:42Speaker 2: video of the attack. I mean, you know, the helicopters,
- 14:45Speaker 2: the Navy helicopters and the Navy personnel, the seals repelling down.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It was it was really interesting.
- 14:52Speaker 2: And then when he and when he was asked, he said,
- 14:55Speaker 2: it's uh, it was a big tanker.
- 14:57Speaker 1: No, it is the biggest tanker.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Is said, it's the biggest tanker ever.
- 15:03Speaker 2: That's right, the biggest tanker ever in the whole wide world.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Bill.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Where do we manufacture meaning in America, do we manufacture
- 15:14Speaker 5: crack cocaine?
- 15:15Speaker 1: Here?
- 15:16Speaker 6: Do we get the cocaine out?
- 15:17Speaker 4: Well?
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I think crack is there's labs that
- 15:19Speaker 1: do it.
- 15:19Speaker 2: But cocaine usually is in powder form when it comes
- 15:23Speaker 2: over and then it's cut and recut and recut cocaine.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Bigger problem than even cocaine, is right, you.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Know, if you smoke crack cocaine. I don't know. I
- 15:32Speaker 1: don't know, but it is.
- 15:33Speaker 2: There's all these politics and racial overtones to crack cocaine,
- 15:38Speaker 2: and it is now. I don't think it's done overseas.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think crack cocaine is manufacturing in the United States.
- 15:42Speaker 2: The powder comes, powder comes over the border. I don't
- 15:46Speaker 2: know if that helped or not, but it sure sounded,
- 15:48Speaker 2: didn't it.
- 15:49Speaker 3: It sounded great a win for the mountain lions. Well maybe.
- 15:52Speaker 4: The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has recommended granting
- 15:56Speaker 4: threatened species status to about fourteen hundred mountain lions who
- 16:00Speaker 4: are roaming around the Central Coast and in southern California.
- 16:02Speaker 4: They say that they want that designation because of the
- 16:06Speaker 4: threats posed by freeways, rat poison.
- 16:09Speaker 3: And of course wildfires.
- 16:11Speaker 4: It's not a final say, but it does a signal
- 16:15Speaker 4: possibility that several clans of the iconic cougars could be
- 16:19Speaker 4: listed under California's Endangered Species Act.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I'm jumping into that at seven twenty because there are
- 16:26Speaker 2: a lot of moving pieces on that one.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Not everybody's happy about it.
- 16:30Speaker 1: No, not everybody's happy.
- 16:31Speaker 2: And then that wildlife across over the one O one
- 16:35Speaker 2: Freeway near a gir Man.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Open pretty soon.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and it is the largest in the world and
- 16:42Speaker 1: that's kind of neat.
- 16:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it's kind of pretty too, Yeah it is.
- 16:45Speaker 2: It did a nice job with a wooden infrastructure on it.
- 16:48Speaker 6: It was lovely. Yep, all right, this story's about as
- 16:52Speaker 6: horrible as gets.
- 16:53Speaker 5: You got eight members of the him High School running
- 16:56Speaker 5: team and they are between the ages of six seeing
- 17:00Speaker 5: seventeen years old. Eight of them were hurt. Three people
- 17:04Speaker 5: required immediate transports, including a twenty seven year old driver
- 17:09Speaker 5: that hit them. And it looks like it's a possible DUI.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Hopped the plowing into plowing into a group that were
- 17:20Speaker 2: just well running going across you know the high schools
- 17:24Speaker 2: they have the running They were at an intersection, They
- 17:26Speaker 2: were at an intersection and he plowed right into them.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Wasn't there another case that was considered duy But then
- 17:33Speaker 5: it was kind of controversial a couple of years back
- 17:36Speaker 5: amy where someone maybe in in Los Angeles, did that
- 17:42Speaker 5: hit a group of runners from maybe the police department.
- 17:45Speaker 3: It was the police department they were training. Yeah, that
- 17:47Speaker 3: was just last year.
- 17:48Speaker 6: I think, wow, whoop.
- 17:51Speaker 1: There goes my phone. Amy neil Me thought we lost you. No, no, no, it.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Must be nice to have this money much money to donate.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Jeff Bezos's ex wife, philanthropist Mackenzie Scott, has donated sixty
- 18:04Speaker 4: three million dollars to c.
- 18:07Speaker 3: SU Northrich All State northridch Yep.
- 18:10Speaker 4: She donated forty million dollars to the university in twenty
- 18:13Speaker 4: twenty one.
- 18:14Speaker 3: So do the math.
- 18:15Speaker 4: That's one hundred and four million dollars, the largest donation
- 18:18Speaker 4: in its sixty seven year history.
- 18:21Speaker 1: She's worth a ton of money.
- 18:23Speaker 6: Thinky three million, a billion when she treks billion.
- 18:27Speaker 2: When she divorced Bezos, she basically got half of the
- 18:32Speaker 2: stock that he had, or they got half of what
- 18:34Speaker 2: they both had, So it is it's obviously grown from there.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I think she she took a chunk and took it out,
- 18:42Speaker 2: and she gave him all the voting rights too.
- 18:45Speaker 5: She doesn't vote, Yeah sixteen, she's she committed to give
- 18:50Speaker 5: away most of her wealth.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, unlike Bezos didn't, Ellison's didn't. You've got Warren Buffet
- 18:56Speaker 2: who has You have Gates who has Bill and.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Melinda Gates Mark, she's beautiful, She's caring and giving and rich. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 5: and I don't understand that. I never understood that divorces.
- 19:09Speaker 2: A big deal season in the hopes that turns into
- 19:13Speaker 2: a school of good reputation.
- 19:16Speaker 6: They're trying to get the stink of the sixties out
- 19:19Speaker 6: of there. Are you in there in the sixties?
- 19:22Speaker 1: I was, Yeah, I was there in the sixties. Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: lay trying to clean it up.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I was there, sixties, early seventies, I was there.
- 19:31Speaker 5: This sad story. Jeff Garcia, he's a voice actor. Fifty
- 19:36Speaker 5: years old, died. He had complications of pneumonia and he
- 19:41Speaker 5: was taken off life support by his family. But he
- 19:44Speaker 5: was known for shows like Jimmy Neutron, which is great.
- 19:47Speaker 5: The voice character he plays is Sheen Estevez.
- 19:53Speaker 7: Does he pick up on that handel Sheen Martin, Sheen Martin,
- 19:59Speaker 7: Sheen Mark she and Charlietz No and his son and right,
- 20:04Speaker 7: yeah but they but they no, not Charlie.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Sheen, which we didn't want to use. His dad.
- 20:12Speaker 6: The character's name is Sheen Estevez.
- 20:14Speaker 5: But he played on many different shows, Happy Feet, Barnyard, Rio,
- 20:20Speaker 5: Bunch of other the Proud Family, but Unfortunately he passed away.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Right. This is a good story.
- 20:29Speaker 4: It's a new take on driverless delivery. A woman has
- 20:34Speaker 4: delivered her child in a Waimo robot robotaxi while she
- 20:40Speaker 4: was on the way to U SEE San Francisco Medical
- 20:43Speaker 4: Center to have the baby. Waimo says that it's writers
- 20:46Speaker 4: support team detected unusual activity in the car.
- 20:51Speaker 2: That's kind of screaming at the top of her lungs,
- 20:53Speaker 2: and and she delivered it herself.
- 20:55Speaker 1: There was no one else in the car, just her, right.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Nope, she was alone in the car. And then when
- 21:00Speaker 4: she got to the hospital, she was with her baby.
- 21:03Speaker 4: She beat police there.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Right, and she called an ambulance instead of a way
- 21:07Speaker 6: mom because.
- 21:08Speaker 2: It was already on its way and someone was probably
- 21:10Speaker 2: talking to her and saying we're gonna you know, we're
- 21:13Speaker 2: changing the direction of the car. And then she went
- 21:16Speaker 2: into the doctor less obstruct obsetrix department of the hospital.
- 21:23Speaker 5: You love that and the cars, Like, if you're going
- 21:25Speaker 5: to have a second writer, you will have to pay more,
- 21:28Speaker 5: I know.
- 21:29Speaker 2: And it's actually it's actually a terrific story. I love
- 21:33Speaker 2: the technology.
- 21:33Speaker 1: When it works.
- 21:35Speaker 2: You're going to find that driverless cars are not only
- 21:38Speaker 2: the future, it's also going to be and that's generational.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I mean it's going to take twenty five years.
- 21:44Speaker 2: But this cars and that's not only the technology, just
- 21:47Speaker 2: the time it'll take to switch over. But it'll be
- 21:51Speaker 2: far far safer, and it will you won't see gridlock.
- 21:55Speaker 1: It just will be neat.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Have you taken one yet? I have not, have you, No,
- 21:59Speaker 4: But there wasn't all over my neighborhood.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Yeah, everywhere in our hood. Amy. I see them three
- 22:04Speaker 5: times a day easy. I've taken them a bunch of times.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Wow.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I did it in San Francisco bunch in July, and
- 22:12Speaker 5: then I do it here too.
- 22:14Speaker 6: They take a little longer.
- 22:15Speaker 5: They were taking a little longer to get to hail one,
- 22:19Speaker 5: uh than an uber or a lyft.
- 22:21Speaker 6: But they're great. I love it.
- 22:23Speaker 5: You can even watch how on the screen how it
- 22:26Speaker 5: scans the area.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Huh.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 6: I've taken my family and them too.
- 22:32Speaker 2: And they speak and they speak English with nobody speaking
- 22:36Speaker 2: as opposed to.
- 22:37Speaker 6: Uber and no body od or nothing.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, none of that.
- 22:41Speaker 5: An uber with a body odor No, But he's thinking
- 22:43Speaker 5: of old taxi jokes from me.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I am old taxi jokes. And of course one of
- 22:47Speaker 2: the best Seinfeld episodes ever. H with the bo from
- 22:51Speaker 2: the parking.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Oh, they couldn't get it up and they try to.
- 22:56Speaker 1: They tried to get it stolen.
- 22:58Speaker 5: Okay, story Bill handle it going to remark that this
- 23:01Speaker 5: is vindictive, and he's going to be exactly right.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Holy's smokes.
- 23:07Speaker 5: So you've got President Donald Trump inserting himself directly, by
- 23:11Speaker 5: the way, into this control battle for Warner Brothers, Discovery
- 23:15Speaker 5: and all this. And the first thing he says is
- 23:19Speaker 5: it's imperative that CNN be sold.
- 23:22Speaker 1: After he'd be rated all of.
- 23:24Speaker 5: Their you know, their horrible news and the Earlier in
- 23:29Speaker 5: the week, The Wall Street Journal reported that David Ellison
- 23:32Speaker 5: recently offered assurances to Trump and had his administration that
- 23:38Speaker 5: if he bought Warner, he'd make sweeping changes to CNN.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Can that be legal?
- 23:44Speaker 2: It can It's nothing can be legal. I mean, you
- 23:47Speaker 2: know you'd throw it all up. How about this one
- 23:48Speaker 2: for a conflict of interest?
- 23:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Part of Paramount's purchase, their hostile bid for Warner involves
- 23:56Speaker 2: a fund that Kushner is up to his eyeballs in sons.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Trump's son in law is involved in the purchase of
- 24:07Speaker 2: where the hostile takeover.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's all of it is crazy.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Just you know, originally Trump was against crypto until a
- 24:15Speaker 2: family company was created to deal with crypto. Uh, and
- 24:18Speaker 2: Kushner was involved in that. Now crypto is great. Uh.
- 24:22Speaker 2: And he is pardoning people in the crypto world that
- 24:25Speaker 2: have been committed, that had been convicted of massive fraud.
- 24:29Speaker 1: It's just it's so blatant. It's just ridiculous. It is
- 24:33Speaker 1: so blatant.
- 24:34Speaker 5: This is comical though, because essentially he's going to have
- 24:37Speaker 5: to bless some or his administration and some of the
- 24:40Speaker 5: alphabet soup organizations are gonna have to bless this merger.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, it's hit, but it's.
- 24:49Speaker 6: See, yeah, we'll get rid of people at the CNN
- 24:54Speaker 6: h that.
- 24:55Speaker 2: You know. It's just it's it's it's it's it's so insane.
- 24:59Speaker 2: And the part, you know, who I do blame, I
- 25:02Speaker 2: don't even blame particularly Trump, because I think he's just nuts.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I really think that he's a self agrid, self aggrandizing
- 25:09Speaker 2: who thinks he controls the world and should and he's
- 25:12Speaker 2: king of the world. It's the Republicans who back him up,
- 25:16Speaker 2: who say yes. Wall Street Journal ran an op ed Peace.
- 25:20Speaker 2: The Journal ran an op ed piece saying, all you
- 25:23Speaker 2: have to do is talk about his magnificence to him.
- 25:26Speaker 1: That's the word.
- 25:27Speaker 2: You talk your magnificence, mister president, and you get what
- 25:32Speaker 2: you want. I don't understand it. I know, I keep
- 25:36Speaker 2: on harping on this. I do not understand it. For
- 25:39Speaker 2: the life of me. Someone's got to explain this to
- 25:42Speaker 2: me because I just don't get it.
- 25:44Speaker 1: So, uh, we'll say.
- 25:46Speaker 6: Your weakness in the Republican Party.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I yeah, there's that, but I'm talking about the backbone. Yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 1: there's that.
- 25:52Speaker 3: But the whole well that people actually follow him.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I mean I think that there is a percentage of
- 25:59Speaker 2: people who are believers.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah, like the people.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Who go against him, like you're saying, they're there, they
- 26:07Speaker 4: have no spine. Well, it's because that's where the attention
- 26:10Speaker 4: is and the people, No, it's who is.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Marjorie Taylor Green.
- 26:16Speaker 2: She just had a sixty minute interview and she's gone
- 26:20Speaker 2: somewhat against him, not some basic uh that's political views,
- 26:25Speaker 2: but certainly on the Epstein business and on women in
- 26:28Speaker 2: the Republican Republican Party being marginalized. And she was asked,
- 26:34Speaker 2: you know, the Republicans all line up in logstep what
- 26:37Speaker 2: goes on behind closed doors, and she goes, you can't
- 26:40Speaker 2: believe it.
- 26:40Speaker 1: They're just so frightened.
- 26:41Speaker 2: And number one, they're frightened, and there are tons of
- 26:45Speaker 2: Republicans saying, my god, are we really moving in this direction?
- 26:48Speaker 2: But publicly, he the president has to be backed backed up. Now,
- 26:54Speaker 2: wait till the midterms, and you're going to see much
- 26:57Speaker 2: of what happened with Joe Biden. Anybody who associated himself
- 27:00Speaker 2: for herself with Joe Biden politically in the Democratic Party
- 27:05Speaker 2: got nailed.
- 27:06Speaker 1: And this I believe the same thing is going to
- 27:08Speaker 1: happen to Trump.
- 27:10Speaker 2: And the longer the president says prices are down, prices
- 27:13Speaker 2: are down a plus plus plus economy, you guys don't
- 27:16Speaker 2: know what you're talking about. If you think you're paying
- 27:18Speaker 2: too much for meat, you're not. It's just not true
- 27:22Speaker 2: because prices are down. He didn't say that about the meat,
- 27:25Speaker 2: but he has said prices are down, and people just
- 27:29Speaker 2: don't don't buy it because they're not buying. So we'll
- 27:33Speaker 2: stand and then this story I'm going to do later
- 27:35Speaker 2: on about what happened with Fed chair jer Own Powell.
- 27:41Speaker 2: All right, lits, we have to do some more real
- 27:44Speaker 2: quickly because I've been going off on my soapbox.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Here.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Can we skip to Neil's next story?
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah? Absolutely, Neil, all right, Star Wars.
- 27:53Speaker 5: The original painting that we all fell in love with
- 27:56Speaker 5: became the iconic movie poster fifty years ago, sold at
- 28:02Speaker 5: auction for three point eight seven five million, almost four
- 28:06Speaker 5: million bucks. It's acrylic and airbrush painting. The movie poster designer,
- 28:14Speaker 5: it just brilliant. Tom Young first appeared in newspaper advertisements
- 28:20Speaker 5: back in May thirteenth of nineteen seventy seven, two weeks
- 28:24Speaker 5: before the movie opened.
- 28:26Speaker 2: But this is one of a kind. Doesn't exist. This
- 28:29Speaker 2: should be in the Smithsonian. Yeah, but when you can
- 28:32Speaker 2: get four million dollars for it, screw the Smithsonian.
- 28:35Speaker 6: It belongs in a museum.
- 28:38Speaker 1: There's some that do.
- 28:42Speaker 4: An AI ad is backfiring on McDonald's. McDonald's had to
- 28:46Speaker 4: take down an AI generated Christmas commercial from YouTube after
- 28:50Speaker 4: some customers said the AI slop filled, tongue in cheek
- 28:54Speaker 4: take on the holidays holidays was just distasteful. The ad
- 28:59Speaker 4: was titled it the Most Terrible Time of the Year.
- 29:02Speaker 4: It showed a series of short, chaotic clips of people
- 29:04Speaker 4: braving the winter, tripping while carrying overloaded gift bags, getting
- 29:08Speaker 4: stuck in tangled lights, burning homemade cookies, and starting an
- 29:11Speaker 4: unexpected cooking fire during a family gathering.
- 29:14Speaker 3: That sounds so why, I.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Mean, that's yeah, and that's cute, you know, and yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 5: but I so people were upset that it was Ai.
- 29:23Speaker 3: No I saw no actors were harmed in the making
- 29:26Speaker 3: of that commercial.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Very well said, very well said no fingers were actually burnt,
- 29:30Speaker 2: right right, all right, we are done. By the way, Neil,
- 29:35Speaker 2: did it look perfect? It was Ai, but.
- 29:38Speaker 5: It looked excellent. Yeah, Okay, here's the thing. Somebody knew
- 29:42Speaker 5: what they were doing. You have to prompt It's like
- 29:44Speaker 5: a director. You're just not using actors. There are there's
- 29:48Speaker 5: actual humans interacting.
- 29:50Speaker 6: With it to get it.
- 29:51Speaker 1: To do that.
- 29:51Speaker 5: Because it was very well done, it just you know,
- 29:54Speaker 5: turns people off.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Right now, fair enough? This is KFI A M six.
- 30:00Speaker 1: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
