- 0:15Speaker 4: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it, Bring it on, bring it on
- 0:23Speaker 3: to love it, love it too hot?
- 0:25Speaker 5: Less than a month away from mandatory Mini.
- 0:27Speaker 6: I mean, that's what happens when you go to the
- 0:28Speaker 6: Super Bowl? Friend? Is that everything? So it gets short,
- 0:31Speaker 6: It gets short in so that it sort of sneaks up.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Gotcha tell me when you've won something?
- 0:35Speaker 4: Yeah, yep. I mean they did win eleven games with
- 0:39Speaker 4: you know, half a roster last year.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Okay, great, good for them.
- 0:42Speaker 4: I'd like to know how I'm supposed to feel after
- 0:44Speaker 4: the Patriots win. Great, you guys just crapped all over
- 0:47Speaker 4: the opponent, meaningless.
- 0:48Speaker 5: Hard to win in the NFL, It's actually not gonna
- 0:51Speaker 5: Those of us.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Sixteen teams do it every week.
- 0:54Speaker 5: Hard to win in the.
- 0:55Speaker 6: NFL sometimes there's bus I think Herbert's a great quarterback.
- 0:58Speaker 6: I love watching them play.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Great.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I think he's really good.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Okay, that's great.
- 1:02Speaker 4: He just went it's a really good.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe great strong, really good. I think he's good.
- 1:06Speaker 6: I think he's top ten.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Oh, I know the Smurfs.
- 1:08Speaker 4: There's one called Papa yet like the gray beer. Oh,
- 1:12Speaker 4: it's got me all nervous. I didn't think that was
- 1:14Speaker 4: all that controversy.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. Like it was some rapper that
- 1:16Speaker 3: you know, killed somebody because he knows the raps he does.
- 1:19Speaker 4: I told you that his rap game is strong.
- 1:23Speaker 3: The weird question, does it make you uncomfortable? I'll give
- 1:26Speaker 3: up kissing as long as I have to give up
- 1:27Speaker 3: what comes afterwards.
- 1:28Speaker 4: That made me uncomfortable, uncomfort and almost never uncomfortable.
- 1:32Speaker 5: I'll keep the sauce in the sex. I just don't
- 1:34Speaker 5: have to kiss.
- 1:35Speaker 3: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:39Speaker 3: deals by a Toyota dot com. All right, welcome the
- 1:44Speaker 3: Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:45Speaker 5: It is Thursday here at.
- 1:47Speaker 3: A Let's Stadium, and the gang is all here, Evan
- 1:51Speaker 3: and Paul and Mike and Alex and Matt and the booth.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So it's a big, big Thursday show, full house, full house.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Everybody back in this field.
- 2:03Speaker 3: In the full house.
- 2:04Speaker 5: With nothing to talk about?
- 2:05Speaker 3: What are we talking?
- 2:07Speaker 5: We got plenty to talk about. Get what we talked about.
- 2:10Speaker 3: That, and so Mike, you weren't here though, you got
- 2:13Speaker 3: any thoughts on the schedules, because you know what other
- 2:17Speaker 3: teams did and a favorites, uh, favorite games.
- 2:21Speaker 5: No, don't about our schedule.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I'm talking about the schedule videos that other teams most Oh.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 7: I did watch a few of them. I watched the Rams.
- 2:31Speaker 7: One I kind of like was Napoleon Dynamite one.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I thought that that was that. That was kind of
- 2:35Speaker 1: well done.
- 2:36Speaker 7: I don't know, I thought what other one stick out?
- 2:38Speaker 7: I sorry, I was teeing up my brain to talk
- 2:40Speaker 7: about the Patriots schedule, right.
- 2:42Speaker 5: You don't have any answer.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I don't want to sit here while you figure what
- 2:46Speaker 3: about the Patriots schedule?
- 2:47Speaker 5: What stood out for you?
- 2:49Speaker 6: Now?
- 2:49Speaker 7: I think my my big takeaway was you set a
- 2:52Speaker 7: record for road wins last year. You know, nine and
- 2:54Speaker 7: o on the road, and you know this is is
- 2:58Speaker 7: just another test. So you think you're good on the road.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Let's let's see how good.
- 3:01Speaker 1: You are on the road. Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 7: A lot of a lot of really challenging games. But
- 3:05Speaker 7: you know, one one thing I thought, and I think
- 3:07Speaker 7: I heard Phil Perry saying it was just he felt
- 3:10Speaker 7: like the beginning of the schedule was tough and that
- 3:12Speaker 7: they really need a good I don't really agree with that.
- 3:14Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 3:14Speaker 7: I I think that there's plenty of opportunity down the
- 3:17Speaker 7: stretch after the bye week. To you know, you play
- 3:19Speaker 7: three games in your division, you played three games against.
- 3:22Speaker 1: The AFC West, so you know, I don't know.
- 3:25Speaker 7: I think he was talking more about like the team
- 3:26Speaker 7: needs a good start so that, you know, I think
- 3:28Speaker 7: he was kind of questioning whether, you know, the Rabel
- 3:30Speaker 7: stuff was gonna play into it.
- 3:32Speaker 4: But I don't know.
- 3:32Speaker 7: I just I think they're gonna have the opportunities down
- 3:35Speaker 7: the end, and if they play their best football down
- 3:36Speaker 7: the stretch, they're gonna have something to stay not only
- 3:38Speaker 7: about their own playoff chances, but certainly AFC West playoff
- 3:42Speaker 7: chances as well.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So now those are my general thoughts. Yeah, Okay, tough schedule, though,
- 3:46Speaker 1: I think a lot of a lot OF's just tough
- 3:48Speaker 1: for me to Germany and that bye week and then
- 3:50Speaker 1: out to l A like.
- 3:51Speaker 4: That to me is like that felt after a game
- 3:57Speaker 4: in a week ago.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I know, but still it's there's a lot
- 4:00Speaker 6: of We were talking about this yesterday on Ketshwani too.
- 4:02Speaker 6: There's a lot of different time zones, a lot of
- 4:04Speaker 6: different days and times of games in that middle party.
- 4:08Speaker 5: That's the NFL now right.
- 4:09Speaker 3: More and more teams are going to see that every
- 4:11Speaker 3: year because of the Thursdays, Fridays and the Wednesdays. It's
- 4:15Speaker 3: inevitable that it's going to be all screwed up going forward.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Like from like that Bears game to the Chiefs game
- 4:21Speaker 6: on that Monday night later in the season. It's like
- 4:23Speaker 6: a Thursday night game, a Germany game, an LA game,
- 4:26Speaker 6: a Monday night game. Like it's just there's no real like, oh,
- 4:30Speaker 6: it's just Sunday at one o'clock for eight straight weeks
- 4:32Speaker 6: like that, doesn't.
- 4:33Speaker 7: I like that stretch though, Like that stretch of one pms,
- 4:36Speaker 7: like you know, I mean, that's that's great fall time
- 4:41Speaker 7: like that. I love the Chiefs game though. I think
- 4:43Speaker 7: that at Chiefs game Monday night football. Have you ever
- 4:46Speaker 7: been to I haven't. You guys have talked about how
- 4:48Speaker 7: great it is. I mean, it's a national atmosphere. You're
- 4:50Speaker 7: coming down the stretch of the playoffs.
- 4:55Speaker 3: It's the closest thing that the NFL has to a
- 4:58Speaker 3: college football.
- 5:00Speaker 1: So just get that play in that environment.
- 5:02Speaker 7: Mahome should you know, probably be you know, clicking hopefully
- 5:05Speaker 7: for them.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I think it's I think it's a good game. It's
- 5:08Speaker 1: just interesting stack up.
- 5:09Speaker 7: You know, you play a tough rod game right out
- 5:11Speaker 7: of the shoot with the Seahawks, but then late in
- 5:13Speaker 7: the season, you're probably gonna need that game.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Kansas City might need that game.
- 5:17Speaker 5: It's it's a that's a great money it might be
- 5:19Speaker 5: closing too.
- 5:19Speaker 6: So yeah, I'm very curious to see what that Chiefs
- 5:22Speaker 6: team looks like when we get there, because we're you know,
- 5:26Speaker 6: looking at their depth chart yesterday. Their wide receivers right
- 5:29Speaker 6: now are Taekwon Thornton, Xavier Worthy and Rashi Rice.
- 5:33Speaker 4: He spent time yesterday looking at the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 5:36Speaker 5: There you go.
- 5:37Speaker 4: You need to do something with him, Fred.
- 5:39Speaker 3: But he's able to bring stuff to the show.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Sorry for doing my job knowing the other teams. Yeah, chief, yes,
- 5:49Speaker 6: I know all the teams they're playing.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Doing your job.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That's my job is not his.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Job is to make sure I stupid.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, like no, But I think I think Evan Is
- 6:00Speaker 3: should be lauded for doing that.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I think that's what you apologize for.
- 6:03Speaker 6: Trying to you, No, you don't know.
- 6:07Speaker 4: I think I know the teams, but I just thought
- 6:10Speaker 4: it was funny, Like I spent the time yesterday looking
- 6:13Speaker 4: at the JEP chart of a team but playing in December.
- 6:17Speaker 8: She was, did you look at it yesterday? Because I
- 6:22Speaker 8: don't know if this is even a real rumor or
- 6:24Speaker 8: like I don't know what's Twitter fake AI at this point,
- 6:26Speaker 8: but I saw something about digs potentially.
- 6:29Speaker 6: Yeah, So I was looking at it yesterday because because
- 6:32Speaker 6: because I'm not like one hundred percent sold on Kansas
- 6:35Speaker 6: City bouncing back like some people are. And the big
- 6:38Speaker 6: reason why is because I don't really think they've done
- 6:40Speaker 6: anything with their weapons. Like Kenneth Walker is a is
- 6:43Speaker 6: a decent addition, but he's running back and you all
- 6:45Speaker 6: know how I feel about that. So if they had digs,
- 6:48Speaker 6: or if they somehow swoop in on AJ Brown or
- 6:51Speaker 6: something like that, then maybe it changed my mind. But
- 6:53Speaker 6: Travis Kelcey last year looked like he was kind of
- 6:56Speaker 6: washed already. Now he's a year older or she rice,
- 6:59Speaker 6: who knows if he's going to be available for them
- 7:01Speaker 6: or not. H And then, like I said, there are
- 7:03Speaker 6: two other receivers right now are Taekwon Thornton and Xavier Worthy,
- 7:07Speaker 6: two guys that were kind of bus like they could
- 7:11Speaker 6: bring ju ju back.
- 7:12Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:12Speaker 6: They drafted Cyrus Allen in the fifth round, who I
- 7:14Speaker 6: thought was a nice like Day three pick, but like
- 7:16Speaker 6: that's not you know, anything special.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Weapons, which I was surprised at. I thought that they
- 7:21Speaker 4: would look at what happened to them last year before
- 7:23Speaker 4: Mahomes got hurt and say, okay, we got to give
- 7:26Speaker 4: him some help and they didn't.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Do you think they were counting on Rice to kind
- 7:29Speaker 1: of be that guy Andy, But.
- 7:32Speaker 6: When he plays, they're a different team, no doubt about it.
- 7:35Speaker 6: But yeah, I just you know, some of these games,
- 7:38Speaker 6: you know, like the Lions, like they are another team
- 7:41Speaker 6: that needs to have a bounce back year, you know,
- 7:44Speaker 6: compared to what they had last year. The Chiefs, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 6: are one of those teams. You know, how many of
- 7:49Speaker 6: those teams on the Patriots schedule bounce back and how
- 7:52Speaker 6: many of them stay down? You know, I think that's
- 7:54Speaker 6: going to be a big factor and how hard the
- 7:56Speaker 6: schedule actually ends up being.
- 7:59Speaker 7: I like the Denver game, that's you know, second and
- 8:01Speaker 7: last season home, that's that's another big one for the Patriots.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I thought it might have been a little sooner.
- 8:06Speaker 7: It feels like the Broncos are gonna come here, obviously
- 8:09Speaker 7: with something to prove.
- 8:10Speaker 1: But I think there's some there's some highlights to watch.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I can get excited about.
- 8:13Speaker 7: Big games this year where it's like, okay, last year
- 8:16Speaker 7: when you had all the bottom dwellers, is that hard
- 8:18Speaker 7: to get excited about, you know, good competition and games
- 8:21Speaker 7: to really stack up for So that regard, I'm excited,
- 8:24Speaker 7: but I think it's gonna be it's gonna be a
- 8:25Speaker 7: tough season.
- 8:26Speaker 9: Well.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Alex brought up the Chiefs in the context of maybe
- 8:28Speaker 3: now they might have renewed interests in uh A. J.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Brown or Digs, And there's a lot of like new
- 8:38Speaker 3: not reports, but speculation about teams being interested in Brown
- 8:43Speaker 3: who may not have been interested before in the case
- 8:46Speaker 3: of Rams, have renewed interest or whatever. But the way
- 8:50Speaker 3: I look at it is either they have a deal
- 8:52Speaker 3: or they don't. It's that simple. If they have a deal,
- 8:56Speaker 3: it will happen. If they didn't have a deal, then
- 8:59Speaker 3: any think can happen.
- 9:00Speaker 7: What if they have a parameters of a deal, like
- 9:03Speaker 7: they kind of like this is probably what it's going
- 9:05Speaker 7: to be.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Like if they have parameters and they haven't agreed to it,
- 9:08Speaker 3: then they don't have a deal.
- 9:10Speaker 5: They don't have a deal.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel like there's two sides right now. And
- 9:14Speaker 6: it's funny because Schefter and Rappaport work together now technically,
- 9:17Speaker 6: and they kind of both have different reporting on this.
- 9:20Speaker 6: Like rap Sheet's been consistent that there's no handshake deal
- 9:24Speaker 6: between the Patriots and the Eagles.
- 9:26Speaker 3: There's nothing about where who he works for.
- 9:29Speaker 6: Well not Yeah, I guess you.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Can't technically, you can't have a handshake deal.
- 9:34Speaker 6: But Schefter also kind of works for the league now too.
- 9:36Speaker 3: In a way point in a way in a way.
- 9:39Speaker 6: So like Schefter has been really consistent that he expects
- 9:45Speaker 6: the Patriots to get aj Brown, the Eagles and the
- 9:47Speaker 6: Patriots to come to a trade like quickly after June first,
- 9:52Speaker 6: like maybe even on June first, and Rapaport's saying not
- 9:57Speaker 6: so fast. You know, it could be different. But yesterday Chefter,
- 10:03Speaker 6: you know, got aggregated his podcast. He said, I'm gonna
- 10:06Speaker 6: stand firm like he will, like in my opinion, he's
- 10:10Speaker 6: going to be a Patriot, and I think it's going
- 10:12Speaker 6: to happen quickly.
- 10:13Speaker 3: So I don't know, I don't know, but either they
- 10:17Speaker 3: have a deal when they don't. If they don't, then yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 3: thinks another team, could you know, make a better offer.
- 10:26Speaker 8: Even if you do have a deal, there's nothing signed,
- 10:29Speaker 8: And I think the Eagles would be dumb to like
- 10:31Speaker 8: if someone comes in at the last minute and just offer,
- 10:33Speaker 8: well beats out the offer.
- 10:35Speaker 10: Like here's what he Yeah, there's a handshake deal.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I both agree with that. I disagree with that because
- 10:41Speaker 3: if you have a deal and Howie Roseman goes back
- 10:43Speaker 3: on it, that's not good business.
- 10:45Speaker 8: Yeah, But like the Raiders sent Max Crosby to Baltimore
- 10:50Speaker 8: to go on a tour and come instantly back this year,
- 10:53Speaker 8: Like I feel like, I don't know, did the did
- 10:56Speaker 8: Baltimore really take a reputation hit front office for that
- 10:59Speaker 8: going forward?
- 11:00Speaker 11: Think?
- 11:00Speaker 3: Or was it just well that was I mean, the
- 11:04Speaker 3: Raiders may never do another deal with the Ravens again.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Like, I don't know.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I'm just saying that you have to have some you
- 11:11Speaker 3: have to be a man of your word.
- 11:13Speaker 8: I agree with you, But are people if it well
- 11:16Speaker 8: on benefits them at the last minute and they can
- 11:19Speaker 8: back out.
- 11:19Speaker 5: But that's why it's all that much more important.
- 11:21Speaker 3: You have to trust people, and when at that level
- 11:24Speaker 3: in the NFL, when you're doing deals, I don't.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Know, I don't know if it's right.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Like if they have a deal and Howie Roseman calls
- 11:31Speaker 3: up Ramill says, I know we have a deal, but
- 11:33Speaker 3: I'm going to lose my job if i don't take
- 11:35Speaker 3: this offer that just came in over the transom. Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 3: you know, he could say that he could, But if
- 11:43Speaker 3: I'm Rabel, I'm like, f you.
- 11:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know if it's gonna have like a
- 11:49Speaker 6: long standing effect on the Ravens. But the Ravens failing
- 11:52Speaker 6: Max Crosby's physical and sending him back to Vegas, there
- 11:56Speaker 6: is all sorts of like scuttle But at that time
- 11:59Speaker 6: that the Holyleague was pissed at the Ravens for doing
- 12:02Speaker 6: that and going back aways of their history of kind
- 12:05Speaker 6: of pulling fast ones like that. I don't think it's
- 12:08Speaker 6: necessarily gonna deter them from making future trades, but I
- 12:13Speaker 6: think that there was some pushback from people being like,
- 12:16Speaker 6: you know, this is kind of not not right.
- 12:18Speaker 3: And you know, as you know, there's a lot of
- 12:20Speaker 3: movement in the NFL. Where you work today may not
- 12:22Speaker 3: be where you work tomorrow. And you know, you don't
- 12:25Speaker 3: want to burn bridges like that. That's just my opinion,
- 12:28Speaker 3: but Alex people do yeah, stuff like that all the time.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Yep.
- 12:35Speaker 4: I think those things go away quickly. I do think
- 12:38Speaker 4: you take a hit, and I think Evan's right. I
- 12:40Speaker 4: think Baltimore did take a hit initially. And you know,
- 12:43Speaker 4: there might be some lingering and to your point, maybe
- 12:46Speaker 4: the Raiders specifically. I don't know who had like in
- 12:51Speaker 4: the in the NFL when Belichick was out of the
- 12:54Speaker 4: peak of his power for the Patriots, was there anybody
- 12:57Speaker 4: in the league that liked them? And no one traded
- 13:01Speaker 4: more than Belichi Like, oh, I I don't want the
- 13:04Speaker 4: coach wanted anything to do Okay, yeah, okay.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Some something.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But I think like there's a lot of coaches that were.
- 13:11Speaker 4: He there was a lot of jealousy, a lot of
- 13:13Speaker 4: pettiness towards the Patriots.
- 13:15Speaker 6: It trades, like I don't remember it as well enough
- 13:19Speaker 6: to know, like it was there a lot of did
- 13:21Speaker 6: he like pull out of trades and pull out of
- 13:23Speaker 6: deals and stuff like that to.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Get into what he did? Competitive stuff? Thank you?
- 13:27Speaker 6: Yeah, Okay, that's that sort of stuff.
- 13:29Speaker 4: And it didn't prevent anybody from wanting to do business
- 13:31Speaker 4: with the Patriots.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Sure, but I'm more talking about like roster transactional.
- 13:35Speaker 4: But this was worse and it did it never prevented them,
- 13:38Speaker 4: Like nobody traded more than Belichi, Yeah, nobody.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I just I wonder where A. J.
- 13:44Speaker 7: Brown is at and what his whole view in the
- 13:46Speaker 7: situation is, Like does he in his mind being like
- 13:48Speaker 7: they're gonna send me in New England? I mean I
- 13:50Speaker 7: think there was a report he was looking at places
- 13:51Speaker 7: in the seaport, you know, or is he kind of
- 13:53Speaker 7: like I think I'm going.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I don't know that they have him in the dark.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Right, you know, because if you're somebody else now, I
- 14:01Speaker 4: think he has in his mind. Brown has it in
- 14:04Speaker 4: his mind he's going to the Patriots. So if I'm
- 14:07Speaker 4: Kansas City and I want to try to come in
- 14:09Speaker 4: and you know, make an offer, I am I getting
- 14:12Speaker 4: a guy who's fully committed to me? Or is he
- 14:15Speaker 4: just want to play for rape?
- 14:16Speaker 1: Right?
- 14:16Speaker 5: Right?
- 14:16Speaker 4: Right?
- 14:17Speaker 6: I think the vable factor is the biggest thing.
- 14:19Speaker 8: Right If a Patrick Mahomes is probably the type of
- 14:22Speaker 8: quarterback that could sway you, like he would have to
- 14:24Speaker 8: at least from Mahomes.
- 14:28Speaker 10: I don't know as much as you like a coach.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that though, Like if a J. Brown
- 14:35Speaker 6: has any say in where he's going to be traded to,
- 14:38Speaker 6: which a lot of players nowadays do have that kind
- 14:40Speaker 6: of bargaining power to have a say in it, Like
- 14:43Speaker 6: going to play for Rabel seems like pretty high on
- 14:45Speaker 6: his his list. So if it's the Patriots or Jacksonville,
- 14:48Speaker 6: which is another team.
- 14:49Speaker 1: That's suddenly in the news a social.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Media rumor not anything confirmed, but you know, if it's
- 14:57Speaker 6: the Patriots or Jacksonville, like a J. Brown and you
- 15:00Speaker 6: would think is going to want to play for Rabel
- 15:02Speaker 6: and play for you know.
- 15:03Speaker 3: It's on Paul's morning show this morning. Uh, they had
- 15:07Speaker 3: a reporter somebody from Philadelphia who you know, covers the team,
- 15:11Speaker 3: and he was talking about a J. Brown and uh,
- 15:16Speaker 3: just kind of dispelling a lot of the narratives. So
- 15:18Speaker 3: a lot of a lot of people, even in New
- 15:20Speaker 3: England's why do we want a J.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Brown?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Why are you hiring a diva wide receiver? You know
- 15:25Speaker 3: when culture is that important? Blah blah blah. And this
- 15:28Speaker 3: guy was dispelling that, saying that even though you know
- 15:32Speaker 3: he might have a beef with Jalen Hurts and they
- 15:34Speaker 3: may not get along. There's no one in the Eagles
- 15:37Speaker 3: organization from the top down who doesn't have a good
- 15:40Speaker 3: word to say about A. J.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Brown.
- 15:42Speaker 4: That's why they don't want to trade him.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yeah, like they all like him. They all like him.
- 15:47Speaker 5: It's just sad aj Brown wants to go.
- 15:50Speaker 10: Yeah, Jalen Hurts wasn't at his wedding.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Else said Barkley was there?
- 15:58Speaker 4: Yeah, because I saw a report that said no, there
- 16:01Speaker 4: was there was a picture pictures was.
- 16:04Speaker 5: There according to this guy.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Well, there was pictures that TMZ had at the wedding,
- 16:09Speaker 6: And like, I was because I saw the same thing
- 16:11Speaker 6: that you saw that nobody else came and then Saquon
- 16:14Speaker 6: is just like sitting in.
- 16:15Speaker 3: The front road.
- 16:20Speaker 6: It was because I was like, saw the pictures and
- 16:23Speaker 6: then I'm reading the thing and it says no other Eagles,
- 16:25Speaker 6: and I was like, wait a second, that's Sequon bark.
- 16:28Speaker 4: At least surprising thing was that Jalen Hurst was not invited.
- 16:31Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but he said there were other Eagles there.
- 16:34Speaker 6: At least Sequon was there because I know what Saquon
- 16:36Speaker 6: looks like and he was certainly in that picture.
- 16:39Speaker 7: That was that was one for that kind of cracked
- 16:41Speaker 7: me up. The Eagles schedule release. They just had the
- 16:43Speaker 7: guys sit around and open it. But it was like,
- 16:46Speaker 7: oh yeah, like a lot of I.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Was like, this is so boring, nothing to say it.
- 16:52Speaker 1: M yeah, like there was very single one.
- 16:57Speaker 7: The other one was as as you're talking about them,
- 16:59Speaker 7: I'm thinking about the other ones.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But the Trevor Lawrence haircut thing, I was kind of excited.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, well he's going to get a haircut.
- 17:06Speaker 1: We're gonna see what Trevor Lawrence. And then they gave
- 17:08Speaker 1: him like a terrible like kind of I don't know.
- 17:10Speaker 3: I thought, I think.
- 17:11Speaker 5: It looks like a win.
- 17:12Speaker 10: It still looks like weird, like this is a I right,
- 17:15Speaker 10: like this is this is.
- 17:19Speaker 5: The Bills one.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I did.
- 17:21Speaker 5: I did.
- 17:22Speaker 10: You liked it?
- 17:23Speaker 5: I did.
- 17:23Speaker 10: It was so weird that I like it was weird
- 17:26Speaker 10: but too dragged out.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Okay, you think so too.
- 17:30Speaker 6: They're all too long.
- 17:31Speaker 10: It wasn't he got timing. Timing is so bad.
- 17:35Speaker 6: They're all too long.
- 17:36Speaker 3: I just thought I thought that maybe they can follow
- 17:38Speaker 3: that through the season, like have those crystalises hanging up
- 17:41Speaker 3: around the stadium or something like that, or people throw
- 17:44Speaker 3: those out in the field instead of But I just
- 17:49Speaker 3: thought it was so weird that I like it's good.
- 17:53Speaker 10: Yeah, it was wacky. I didn't it wasn't in my
- 17:57Speaker 10: top five, but it wasn't. I didn't not like it.
- 17:59Speaker 4: No, do you think the new stadium will affect that crowd? Yes,
- 18:04Speaker 4: will it be will it get corporate? I don't know
- 18:07Speaker 4: about maybe a little bit more.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Configuration is still you know, you're on top of the game.
- 18:14Speaker 3: You know, there's no like dead spots that I could
- 18:16Speaker 3: see from the seating. Like in our stadium, Let's face it,
- 18:19Speaker 3: the red area with the clubs becomes a dead zone
- 18:23Speaker 3: because people are inside, you know, or they're late after halftime,
- 18:28Speaker 3: they don't get to the their seats right away. So
- 18:31Speaker 3: that because like I don't I didn't see that in
- 18:34Speaker 3: that stadium, things like that end zones seem to be
- 18:38Speaker 3: well populated with seats, you know, like a lot of.
- 18:42Speaker 4: I'm just wondering because that's a pretty rowdy crowd, and
- 18:45Speaker 4: I wonder if a new stadium.
- 18:47Speaker 6: I think it will affect that. I think there's a
- 18:49Speaker 6: couple of things, like the way it's designed now is
- 18:52Speaker 6: actually like they eliminated the wind tunnel aspect of that stadium,
- 18:57Speaker 6: So the wind isn't going to be as big of
- 18:58Speaker 6: a factor as it was at the old one. But
- 19:00Speaker 6: I think the one thing that was the most, like
- 19:03Speaker 6: the thing that I thought stood out the most about
- 19:05Speaker 6: high Mark was there's one entrance in and out of
- 19:08Speaker 6: the stadium, and so there's one tunnel for both teams,
- 19:12Speaker 6: both the road and home tame and so like the
- 19:15Speaker 6: both teams would have to like cross paths to get
- 19:18Speaker 6: on and off the field, and there were times where
- 19:20Speaker 6: that would get a little bit rowdy. And now it's
- 19:23Speaker 6: going to have like the core, you know.
- 19:24Speaker 3: But one thing about new stadiums' is like, oh, you know,
- 19:28Speaker 3: it's more clubs and suites and the average guy is
- 19:31Speaker 3: going to be replaced by the rich people. Not in Buffalo,
- 19:35Speaker 3: who's replacing them. There's only so many people that live
- 19:39Speaker 3: around that area, like the owner of Duff's, who's going
- 19:43Speaker 3: to be replacing them. There's not the population itself is
- 19:46Speaker 3: not that big.
- 19:47Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I agree with that, But I think it
- 19:49Speaker 6: will be different feel because the other stadium was a
- 19:52Speaker 6: college stadium. Let's face it, the way it was, the
- 19:54Speaker 6: way it was designed, was.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Actually built the same year that old Foxborough State and
- 20:00Speaker 3: it was the exact same design. They added to it
- 20:03Speaker 3: over the years and made it better than Foxboro Stadium,
- 20:06Speaker 3: but it was exactly it was just a cement bowl.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that's all it was.
- 20:10Speaker 6: Yeah, it was. It was a like there are probably
- 20:13Speaker 6: high schools in Texas that have nicer football stadiums, And
- 20:17Speaker 6: I think that that added to the culture of it
- 20:20Speaker 6: a little bit, that this like new, like state of
- 20:22Speaker 6: the art stadium just you're not going to have that
- 20:24Speaker 6: same feel that you're like going into this rabid like
- 20:28Speaker 6: it still it's a.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Nice new place. We don't want to desecrate it.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I think.
- 20:32Speaker 3: They'll still a way just wondering they don't have, but
- 20:37Speaker 3: I think they'll be as crazy as ever.
- 20:39Speaker 6: I think it's going to be different, but I think
- 20:41Speaker 6: it will be.
- 20:42Speaker 10: How much different, Like I don't think it will be.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Well, I think that you know, from it's still Buffalo, right,
- 20:47Speaker 6: but from a football aspect, Like, I do think that
- 20:49Speaker 6: the way that they supposedly the way that they designed
- 20:52Speaker 6: the stadium to eliminate some of the weather elements that
- 20:56Speaker 6: you had when you played in Buffalo, Like to me,
- 21:00Speaker 6: it's a big deal, like that plays some of the
- 21:02Speaker 6: win games that the Patriots have played there have been
- 21:06Speaker 6: helped us, yeah in some ways. Yeah, but even you know,
- 21:09Speaker 6: just the way that they it kind of has like
- 21:11Speaker 6: it is is not an enclosed roof, but it like
- 21:13Speaker 6: comes over almost like Miami, right, And you're talking practical football,
- 21:19Speaker 6: like on field, and I.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Totally agree with you. I'm just looking at it like
- 21:23Speaker 4: Fred you were around. Don't you think there's a difference
- 21:27Speaker 4: in the crowd here from the old stadium to here?
- 21:31Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 21:31Speaker 3: I do, Yeah, I do.
- 21:34Speaker 8: Look at the crowd in the garden too, Like from
- 21:36Speaker 8: a regular season random game to a playoff game.
- 21:39Speaker 10: I just considerably less roudy. I understand because rich people don't.
- 21:43Speaker 8: Want to look like fanatics and make fools of themselves
- 21:46Speaker 8: at a game. And how much is Buffalo's crowd gonna change?
- 21:48Speaker 4: But we have.
- 21:51Speaker 3: A yes, we do, honest, I mean, but they don't
- 21:57Speaker 3: have the.
- 22:00Speaker 10: Hell there's tech companies here, there's fintech.
- 22:04Speaker 3: The messes. It's these companies that buy, you know, tickets
- 22:07Speaker 3: and then they send their clients and all that stuff.
- 22:10Speaker 10: We have the BioMed money and the tech money.
- 22:13Speaker 4: There's no question have more that stuff. But the old
- 22:16Speaker 4: Foxborough Stadium was a zoo very similar to what we're
- 22:20Speaker 4: talking about. You don't have any of that. Really, you
- 22:24Speaker 4: have to walk outside to get down to The craft
- 22:27Speaker 4: family has done a lot of work and you know,
- 22:31Speaker 4: bumping up security. There's a lot of things that you
- 22:34Speaker 4: you worry about now that maybe you didn't worry about
- 22:36Speaker 4: in the you know, the eighties and nineties. So the
- 22:40Speaker 4: Crafts are to be commended for cleaning some of that
- 22:42Speaker 4: stuff up. But I do wonder if you maybe lose
- 22:46Speaker 4: a little of that sort of rabid behavior. I mean,
- 22:49Speaker 4: and I think Alex's point about the NBA is I'm stunned.
- 22:55Speaker 6: I'm stunned sometimes I'm still there.
- 23:01Speaker 4: I'm only kids.
- 23:05Speaker 6: You got I was trying to get it off of
- 23:07Speaker 6: them with that when get it?
- 23:09Speaker 5: Yeah, you got it?
- 23:10Speaker 10: Wow, I was with.
- 23:15Speaker 4: The NBA games. I can get right back on track.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Watch at the you know, like watch the Thunder and
- 23:21Speaker 4: Spurs or like that. Even the next game would be
- 23:24Speaker 4: a better one. The Knicks tonight against Cleveland. Watch the
- 23:27Speaker 4: beginning of the third quarter. There's nobody there because those
- 23:31Speaker 4: seats are the ones that go for like, yeah, ten
- 23:34Speaker 4: twenty grand and all the court side seats they go
- 23:38Speaker 4: at halftime, they go in whatever the club. They're going in.
- 23:41Speaker 4: They don't come out when it's stuck, and it's amazing
- 23:43Speaker 4: to me. It's like the biggest games of the year,
- 23:46Speaker 4: and the crowd is like getting.
- 23:48Speaker 10: A drink because they're there to be seen.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Correct.
- 23:50Speaker 7: It's also very comfortable some side when you go, like
- 23:53Speaker 7: I going out there for like a concert or something.
- 23:54Speaker 7: First time I've been in the red seats and I
- 23:56Speaker 7: was like, WHOA, Like, now I get why people want
- 23:58Speaker 7: to be inside because there's monitor, there's food. I mean,
- 24:01Speaker 7: if it's weather game, you don't have to be out there.
- 24:03Speaker 10: But it's when you look at the game.
- 24:04Speaker 7: You know, when you look at the game, especially at
- 24:06Speaker 7: the start of the second half, and you're like, well,
- 24:09Speaker 7: the whole middle of the stadium is is em do
- 24:10Speaker 7: we know.
- 24:11Speaker 3: The difference of what tickets cost the last year and
- 24:14Speaker 3: what they cost now Buffalo I try.
- 24:16Speaker 4: To pull that up.
- 24:17Speaker 6: The one thing that I do know is that they
- 24:19Speaker 6: lost season ticket holders right because there's less seats in
- 24:23Speaker 6: the new stadium.
- 24:24Speaker 4: I'm kind of what I'm getting at is, yes, pricing
- 24:26Speaker 4: out the rabid behaviors, are they I'm asking chance that
- 24:31Speaker 4: that happens. Yeah, I mean, the seats have to be
- 24:33Speaker 4: more expected.
- 24:34Speaker 7: I mean, this was a you know from co Pilot's
- 24:36Speaker 7: example was a for example, a Bill's Mafia.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Remember with eight M and T banks.
- 24:40Speaker 7: Suite tickets paid twenty four grand per year before twenty
- 24:43Speaker 7: twenty six.
- 24:43Speaker 1: But we'll need four hundred thousand dollars.
- 24:45Speaker 3: That's forget about the suits indoors. I'm talking about just
- 24:48Speaker 3: a normal seat.
- 24:49Speaker 6: I just remember that when this all the stadium started
- 24:53Speaker 6: to become a reality, they had X amount of season
- 24:57Speaker 6: ticket holders in the new stadium could only fit why,
- 25:00Speaker 6: you know why was smaller. So they had to have
- 25:03Speaker 6: a lottery, and they had to cut out a bunch
- 25:05Speaker 6: of the season ticket holders, and a lot of season
- 25:09Speaker 6: ticket holders obviously lost the lottery and didn't get picked
- 25:11Speaker 6: to have season tickets in the new stadium. So there's
- 25:14Speaker 6: a lot because of the suites and all that stuff,
- 25:15Speaker 6: there's a lot less.
- 25:16Speaker 3: What I am thinking, let's just say it is significantly
- 25:19Speaker 3: more enough where if you were a season ticket holders,
- 25:23Speaker 3: you know, I'm either not doing it anymore or I
- 25:26Speaker 3: am going to do it, but I'm gonna sell a
- 25:28Speaker 3: lot more of my tickets, you know, So.
- 25:33Speaker 4: All those things are in play.
- 25:34Speaker 7: Yeah, it's hard, I'm sure some people are being priced out.
- 25:36Speaker 7: I mean, you know, that's that's how it works with
- 25:39Speaker 7: these kind of situations.
- 25:40Speaker 4: But but it.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Could be a lot more Like of our fans there,
- 25:43Speaker 3: if they're selling their tickets to make up all the rich,
- 25:48Speaker 3: we could take.
- 25:48Speaker 7: Our private planes and helicopters.
- 25:52Speaker 4: So you're going to be going to let's go.
- 25:56Speaker 1: But that's a good point though.
- 25:58Speaker 7: One of those years ago, my sister had a group
- 26:00Speaker 7: of friends like that, and that was the thing. Like
- 26:03Speaker 7: so even for away fans, like they were like just
- 26:05Speaker 7: out of college kids, but they would always do a
- 26:07Speaker 7: pilgrimage to Buffalo to watch the games, you know.
- 26:09Speaker 4: So I mean I did a pilgrimage to watch a game,
- 26:13Speaker 4: you know.
- 26:13Speaker 7: I just I missed those rabbid environments like those, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 7: you just you can't recreate it. And so many of
- 26:18Speaker 7: these stadiums now are just feel so corporate and clean
- 26:23Speaker 7: and just doesn't have that like you know, you walk
- 26:25Speaker 7: into the old Boston Garden, there's like a gritty noess
- 26:27Speaker 7: to it.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It's small, you're on top of it. Like stadium had
- 26:30Speaker 1: a vibe.
- 26:31Speaker 7: Now you watch it and you're like, I think it's Gillette,
- 26:33Speaker 7: But it could be Tennessee too.
- 26:34Speaker 8: Yeah, so thrown off by Levi Stadium at the super Bowl,
- 26:38Speaker 8: like it's half of it is just sweet.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I know things.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, I think that was a miss.
- 26:44Speaker 6: I think the Garden crowd still they get loud and
- 26:50Speaker 6: stop trying to give me a T shirt. I don't
- 26:52Speaker 6: want the freaking T shirt.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I hate it.
- 26:55Speaker 6: I hate.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Things.
- 26:57Speaker 6: I don't want the T shirt. I'm not wearing it.
- 26:59Speaker 6: Don't give me the T shirt, just telling.
- 27:01Speaker 3: You it's on edge.
- 27:02Speaker 12: I don't know what happened for a couple of weeks
- 27:06Speaker 12: shirt because no, like him, this is what happens, okay,
- 27:10Speaker 12: because you know you brought up like San Antonio and
- 27:12Speaker 12: Oklahoma City they put on the T shirts and they
- 27:14Speaker 12: have like these like color coordinated shirts and stuff like.
- 27:17Speaker 6: That, and like it's like so the Celtics they try
- 27:20Speaker 6: to put T shirts on people's I don't need a
- 27:22Speaker 6: T shirt, okay, Like I have to support I have
- 27:25Speaker 6: actual like stuff that I that I like, buy the
- 27:29Speaker 6: Celtics gear that I'm wearing the game. I don't need
- 27:31Speaker 6: to be given out a T shirt and I don't
- 27:33Speaker 6: want to be. We don't need it. This is Boston.
- 27:36Speaker 6: We're not We're not like yeah, like we don't need
- 27:40Speaker 6: the T shirts. Like we're gonna come to We're gonna
- 27:43Speaker 6: come in green, we're gonna come loud, we're gonna come drunk.
- 27:46Speaker 6: Don't worry, don't you don't have to get me into
- 27:49Speaker 6: the atmosphere.
- 27:49Speaker 7: I just imagine Evan walking into the garden for like
- 27:52Speaker 7: a playoff game and there's T shirts hanging on the
- 27:54Speaker 7: back like.
- 27:59Speaker 10: You and cuts them all up.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Joe's on the other seat and he's like you're not
- 28:04Speaker 4: putting that on, are you.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Everyone's in heaven with like a blue.
- 28:12Speaker 6: And then you know, like at the Bruins games and
- 28:14Speaker 6: when they go they put they bring out the towels.
- 28:16Speaker 6: They give us towels and I'm like, guy, this is
- 28:19Speaker 6: like Game seven against Toronto.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I don't need a towel.
- 28:24Speaker 6: Like we're like we're gonna scream our heads off, all right,
- 28:27Speaker 6: Like don't worry about the towel.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Like take your towel.
- 28:30Speaker 6: Stop telling me to wave my towel, okay, Like all
- 28:33Speaker 6: these things, like it's nice for.
- 28:35Speaker 10: These guys showing up from their seaport finance.
- 28:38Speaker 6: Jobs there and you think they're waving their towel.
- 28:41Speaker 10: They're not waving anything. They're wearing button up Oxford shirts
- 28:44Speaker 10: and like.
- 28:45Speaker 1: This is this is a real sport we have. It's
- 28:50Speaker 1: in our VA playoffs. We don't need a cowl.
- 28:53Speaker 8: TD Garden in the playoffs is noticeably different than a
- 28:56Speaker 8: regular season game.
- 28:57Speaker 10: Why it's loud.
- 28:58Speaker 6: I mean, I've been obviously to both, and like it depends.
- 29:01Speaker 6: It depends on how the team kind of atmospheres, It
- 29:05Speaker 6: depends on how the team plays.
- 29:07Speaker 4: Know exactly what you're talking, have you? I was just
- 29:10Speaker 4: going to say, just off TV, it's not right because
- 29:12Speaker 4: maybe it's because the national broadcast toned down the noise.
- 29:16Speaker 4: I don't know. I think it's pretty My guess is
- 29:18Speaker 4: they probably jack up the noise during the regular season
- 29:20Speaker 4: on the local broadcast.
- 29:24Speaker 8: Has not been what it's been in years past.
- 29:28Speaker 6: They also haven't had a great home record, Like the
- 29:30Speaker 6: team has to play well for fans to like have something.
- 29:33Speaker 1: To cheer about.
- 29:34Speaker 6: So like when you go to a game, like you know,
- 29:36Speaker 6: and you know, we went to the Bruins game and
- 29:38Speaker 6: against the Sabers where they lost six to two at home,
- 29:41Speaker 6: Like what was I supposed to do? I was supposed
- 29:42Speaker 6: to like, you know, like it was for nothing. After
- 29:45Speaker 6: the first period, crowds.
- 29:46Speaker 4: A little different anyway. They get a little I.
- 29:49Speaker 10: Think, and they're not going to a hockey game to
- 29:51Speaker 10: be seen.
- 29:52Speaker 6: That's funny how everybody opinion.
- 29:57Speaker 10: Will I seen one all the time.
- 29:58Speaker 5: I can't hear.
- 29:59Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I'm just telling the Warriors in the finals,
- 30:03Speaker 4: I was struck with every home game with nobody's there
- 30:06Speaker 4: in the third quarter, emptiness all around the benches. Like
- 30:10Speaker 4: that was the first time I noticed it, and now
- 30:12Speaker 4: I notice it all the time in these big playoff
- 30:14Speaker 4: games in the NBA.
- 30:15Speaker 3: I know self these games that I've watched, when games
- 30:17Speaker 3: where they've had to come.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Back get it gets pretty Goden is a good loud crowd.
- 30:23Speaker 4: You can hear it on TV. Yeah, Like I again,
- 30:26Speaker 4: it's like not having to be on the depth chart
- 30:28Speaker 4: of the Kansas City Chiefs to know that they don't
- 30:29Speaker 4: have any receivers. I don't have to be there or
- 30:32Speaker 4: know that they don't make any noise or they get
- 30:34Speaker 4: loud when they're making a comeback. In the fourth quarter
- 30:37Speaker 4: of even Game seven of this miserable series they just lost,
- 30:40Speaker 4: the place was going crazy when they made the comeback
- 30:42Speaker 4: in the fourth quarter. They fell short, but I could
- 30:45Speaker 4: hear it when I watched.
- 30:46Speaker 6: The highlights Bad Crowds.
- 30:47Speaker 3: All right? Eight five five past five hundred is the
- 30:51Speaker 3: hotline podcast at Patriots dot com? Is the email address
- 30:56Speaker 3: I do you know before I start taking calls? And
- 31:01Speaker 3: you can disagree or agree with this next email, or
- 31:04Speaker 3: it's Joseph from next door.
- 31:06Speaker 5: He says.
- 31:07Speaker 3: He says, is it too much to ask for the
- 31:09Speaker 3: callers to be interesting, to be able to understand what
- 31:11Speaker 3: they're saying? The initial callers on Tuesday were frightening. We
- 31:15Speaker 3: had a lot of new callers on Tuesday, so I
- 31:17Speaker 3: don't want to discourage them. But Joe says, regular callers
- 31:20Speaker 3: who sound like they have marbles in their mouth are
- 31:22Speaker 3: talking like they have gills, and don't believe in pauses
- 31:26Speaker 3: between sentences what is going on outside? I would hang
- 31:32Speaker 3: up on any caller that says, can you hear me?
- 31:35Speaker 3: I miss so many of the old school callers that
- 31:37Speaker 3: were great, Thanks Brady for Eldred. Emails are the way
- 31:40Speaker 3: to go, much more entertaining, be better callers.
- 31:43Speaker 7: So laying down the gauntlet with call to action, look
- 31:46Speaker 7: at those callers lit up.
- 31:47Speaker 10: That's yeah, yeah, you didn't even have to offer T shirts?
- 31:50Speaker 3: All right, So be good so should I be more
- 31:55Speaker 3: I don't know, strict with our callers and less patient?
- 31:59Speaker 4: No, wh I think you do a good jobs.
- 32:02Speaker 7: That's like the Felder thing where theyy, how are you doing?
- 32:04Speaker 7: You can tell this product.
- 32:06Speaker 5: I don't mind that.
- 32:07Speaker 3: But like if it's not a good call, like get
- 32:09Speaker 3: rid of them quicker.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Well, well, I mean some of us might think it's
- 32:12Speaker 1: a good call.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Maybe, you know.
- 32:13Speaker 8: I think there's something we said about our listeners taking
- 32:16Speaker 8: time from their day to call in and want to
- 32:18Speaker 8: feel engaged personally.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Appreciate our listeners, Alex, I agree, but.
- 32:22Speaker 6: I appreciate them all as well. I'm trying to be nicer.
- 32:26Speaker 6: I'm trying to be nicer Paul.
- 32:29Speaker 7: Since in the show, since ago, I've had epiphany in
- 32:33Speaker 7: the last thirty seconds.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Absolutely not. Don't give me a teacher.
- 32:37Speaker 3: All right, So we'll we'll take some calls, but you're
- 32:39Speaker 3: on notice, everybody.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Yeah, make it be good.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Hang up and listen, be better, Hang up and listen,
- 32:44Speaker 5: be better.
- 32:45Speaker 6: Uh.
- 32:46Speaker 3: So we'll start with Sean, who is actually in Venice.
- 32:49Speaker 5: What's up, Sean, Joseph.
- 32:52Speaker 13: I hope I'm clear and comprehensive, Paul, going off of
- 32:56Speaker 13: what you said the other day. In regards to the
- 32:58Speaker 13: Bill schedule being all those tough, I can actually see
- 33:02Speaker 13: the Patriots winning the division at ten and seven, while
- 33:05Speaker 13: the Bills could finish at nine and eight. I think
- 33:07Speaker 13: that's a strong possibility.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Sure, I don't. I don't think the division winner.
- 33:12Speaker 14: What do you think it's good?
- 33:13Speaker 4: I think both of them will win more than that both. Wow.
- 33:17Speaker 13: I just think it's they're just really tough schedule. So
- 33:19Speaker 13: that's why I'm saying that.
- 33:21Speaker 3: We're good too, So we make other people's schedule tough.
- 33:26Speaker 13: Right, Yeah, yeah we do. I mean we'll we'll make
- 33:30Speaker 13: it tough for the Dolphins and the Jets.
- 33:33Speaker 3: I mean we're going to make it hopefully, we're going
- 33:35Speaker 3: to make it tough for everybody we play.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the goal.
- 33:39Speaker 5: That's what happened last year.
- 33:41Speaker 13: Yeah, last year was when everything were runried, so it
- 33:44Speaker 13: was amazing. I mean, I'd love it if they want
- 33:48Speaker 13: fourteen games again. I just I just feel like it's
- 33:51Speaker 13: a tough schedule, so it's okay, it's going to be difficult.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean winning fourteen games tough for now, not tough.
- 33:57Speaker 5: It's it's tough.
- 33:58Speaker 6: I'm going to go out on a limit it's.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Hard to win in the NFL. Thanks Sean Herms in DC.
- 34:03Speaker 5: What's up? Herm?
- 34:06Speaker 15: Hey, what's going on?
- 34:07Speaker 1: Boys and girls?
- 34:08Speaker 16: Welcome back Mike.
- 34:09Speaker 17: Hope he's feel better.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 34:13Speaker 17: Two quick comments and a question for you guys. So,
- 34:15Speaker 17: first comment, we will win twelve games. Why because in
- 34:22Speaker 17: my opinion, we have an elite defense, great coaching, and
- 34:26Speaker 17: a great quarterback. Second comments, nize, question is about a
- 34:32Speaker 17: team in our schedule is really Kansas City, and I
- 34:37Speaker 17: don't really understand. I guess while people are scared of
- 34:41Speaker 17: them just for this upcoming year because one Patrick Mahomes
- 34:45Speaker 17: got hurt and they were I think six and eight
- 34:49Speaker 17: with him when he was obviously fine. And I also
- 34:52Speaker 17: think that they're kind of at a point where we
- 34:55Speaker 17: were in twenty ten, where obviously but God's grace with
- 35:00Speaker 17: a chance on a tight end that back issues from Arizona.
- 35:04Speaker 18: Right.
- 35:04Speaker 17: So that's and I didn't outside of public can't see
- 35:07Speaker 17: this draft, but I don't think they've got anybody that
- 35:09Speaker 17: could really help them, you know, this upcome season. And
- 35:15Speaker 17: then my question, simple question take up the here. Why
- 35:20Speaker 17: hasn't gone them been paid yet? Thank you guys.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Why hasn't gons have been paid yet? Oh why hasn't
- 35:25Speaker 3: he been paid yet?
- 35:27Speaker 4: Generally, things that happen a little bit more towards like
- 35:30Speaker 4: training camp. But you mean, I don't have any information
- 35:33Speaker 4: on that, as you know, if it's imminent or anything
- 35:36Speaker 4: like that. But it's not all that uncommon to see
- 35:39Speaker 4: one of those extensions happening.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Mini camp, Yeah, right, that mini camp, training camp dead
- 35:45Speaker 4: period there. I think there's some negotiating that goes on.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I wouldn't worry about it until or a lesson, until
- 35:52Speaker 4: it lingers into like the preseason. Like now you you're
- 35:57Speaker 4: sort of saying, Okay, is he going to be is
- 35:59Speaker 4: he fully committed? Is he on the field? Is he
- 36:02Speaker 4: holding in? Those are things that would worry me yet.
- 36:05Speaker 4: But until that happens, I'm going to assume he's gonna.
- 36:07Speaker 10: Get He's been around to this point too.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Yep, yep, Anthony's in Seattle.
- 36:12Speaker 5: What's up, Anthony?
- 36:14Speaker 4: What's up?
- 36:15Speaker 19: Breah?
- 36:15Speaker 15: What's up my people?
- 36:16Speaker 1: Hey?
- 36:18Speaker 15: Are you guys taking you guys here?
- 36:19Speaker 4: Me?
- 36:19Speaker 19: Okay?
- 36:20Speaker 15: What he got onto that?
- 36:23Speaker 20: Yeah?
- 36:23Speaker 15: No, that was just for that guy that emailed him. Hey,
- 36:26Speaker 15: what I will say, this isn't what I called about.
- 36:28Speaker 15: But just on the topic while I was waiting. So
- 36:31Speaker 15: what happened is, you guys, you kind of put out
- 36:33Speaker 15: the best signal on Tuesday for calls, and so I
- 36:36Speaker 15: noticed there were a lot of like new callers, first
- 36:38Speaker 15: time callers, and one guy with a second time caller,
- 36:40Speaker 15: and like, I've been listening to you guys since twenty fourteen.
- 36:43Speaker 15: I finally called in in twenty fifteen. It's a little intimidating,
- 36:47Speaker 15: you know, when you're like used to like listening to
- 36:50Speaker 15: you guys talk, and so you don't want to make
- 36:52Speaker 15: a fool of yourself. You don't want to say the
- 36:53Speaker 15: wrong thing. It took me a while to get comfortable
- 36:56Speaker 15: just calling in and just be like, Noah, these are
- 36:58Speaker 15: just the guys and gal that we're just we're just
- 37:01Speaker 15: having a conversation. So it takes a you know, it's tough,
- 37:05Speaker 15: but I'll get to my point.
- 37:07Speaker 19: The tu T shirt giveaway, I'm hoping I didn't.
- 37:11Speaker 15: Miss it because I've been trying to get a hold
- 37:12Speaker 15: of one for years. And then secondly, just a couple
- 37:16Speaker 15: of notes that stuck out to me on Unforged Man,
- 37:20Speaker 15: it was I felt like, like it's really hard to
- 37:23Speaker 15: top the first episode of the first season, because that
- 37:26Speaker 15: one was really really good. But this one, it felt
- 37:28Speaker 15: like they built on the success of last year, where
- 37:32Speaker 15: the access they gave it turned out to be a
- 37:34Speaker 15: great product. It felt like they gave a little bit
- 37:36Speaker 15: more of a piek behind the curtain. Two things that
- 37:38Speaker 15: I noticed that I really liked was one Evans voice cameo,
- 37:42Speaker 15: but it was what he was talking about about the
- 37:44Speaker 15: team being kind of in that in between where they
- 37:47Speaker 15: are they still in a re build or are they
- 37:49Speaker 15: kind of excited because they got into the super Bowl.
- 37:51Speaker 15: The fact that that was that made it into the
- 37:53Speaker 15: episode makes me believe that the team kind of feels
- 37:58Speaker 15: the same way. And you guys just had a really
- 38:00Speaker 15: really good feel for the pulse of the team since
- 38:03Speaker 15: really since Bill left. And then secondly was the Actus
- 38:06Speaker 15: trade up. I was super pumped. I wanted them to
- 38:10Speaker 15: trade up. I had said in a group chat that
- 38:11Speaker 15: I want them to take him at sixty three, but
- 38:13Speaker 15: he won't, he won't make it sixty three. They agreed,
- 38:16Speaker 15: they moved up and got him, But the fact that
- 38:17Speaker 15: they showed you they were actually trying to get him
- 38:20Speaker 15: at fifty three and you could hear like the you
- 38:22Speaker 15: know that that whole thing that was really awesome.
- 38:24Speaker 5: So that's all I got that good stuff.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I would say that we are getting
- 38:28Speaker 1: a little even more.
- 38:28Speaker 5: Access than we did last year.
- 38:31Speaker 6: That's why this was my favorite episode.
- 38:32Speaker 3: I'm glad.
- 38:33Speaker 10: I'm glad. I know it would be yours.
- 38:35Speaker 4: But Anthony makes a really really good point about that
- 38:39Speaker 4: comment that Evan made. Oh thanks, Yeah, not because of
- 38:43Speaker 4: the comment, but we're being nice to each other. He's right,
- 38:46Speaker 4: Anthony's right, you don't have to work here. We have
- 38:48Speaker 4: telling secrets out of like obviously there's an approval process.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Yeah too.
- 38:53Speaker 4: You know, we can't get this access if they can't
- 38:56Speaker 4: trust you know, what we're doing and all that stuff.
- 38:59Speaker 4: So they were okay, hey with that comment that Evan
- 39:02Speaker 4: made being in that episode, And I do think that's
- 39:05Speaker 4: that's kind of telling because that probably was part of
- 39:07Speaker 4: their mindset, like we're a lot further along than we
- 39:11Speaker 4: thought we were, you know, Rabel with the three hundred
- 39:13Speaker 4: and whatever days that he kept saying seventeen times three
- 39:16Speaker 4: oh seven, thank you? So are we rebuilding or are
- 39:23Speaker 4: we further along in the process or are we somewhere in
- 39:25Speaker 4: the middle. And I think including that comment tells me anyway,
- 39:30Speaker 4: and certainly Anthony felt the same that they are thinking
- 39:33Speaker 4: in those terms.
- 39:34Speaker 7: I thought that was interesting. You know, who really impressed
- 39:37Speaker 7: me was Tony Kinkella. We had an opportunity to interview
- 39:40Speaker 7: at the combine, but I just he seems like one
- 39:43Speaker 7: of those guys I got like, this guy might be
- 39:44Speaker 7: a GM someday. He just seemed one of my real
- 39:47Speaker 7: serious locked in guys. You know, I just I love
- 39:50Speaker 7: hearing the Scouts talk about the players. And we do it,
- 39:52Speaker 7: you know, we talk about it on our shows and
- 39:54Speaker 7: stuff and we try to.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Just like as we like, but you know, you hear
- 39:57Speaker 1: a lot of the same stuff.
- 39:58Speaker 7: But obviously they're you know, in formed, and they'd go
- 40:00Speaker 7: to watch these guys play in person. So that's always
- 40:03Speaker 7: my favorite stuff. It's just the little glimpses behind the curtain,
- 40:06Speaker 7: getting to hear these guys really, you know, talk about
- 40:08Speaker 7: guys without the filter that comes when you have to
- 40:11Speaker 7: put them up on a podium.
- 40:12Speaker 6: It did feel like based off their actions though, that
- 40:14Speaker 6: they leaned a little bit more towards Rebuilt then because
- 40:19Speaker 6: they turned over a lot of the roster again and
- 40:22Speaker 6: they you know, they released digs, they released to all
- 40:27Speaker 6: the guys that we kind of thought were holdovers that
- 40:30Speaker 6: we thought were going to be out were they They
- 40:32Speaker 6: went through with it and and rip the band aid off. Anyways,
- 40:35Speaker 6: even though Anthony Jennings was really good for them in
- 40:38Speaker 6: the playoffs lash year.
- 40:39Speaker 4: He found he caught on with the Saints, I think,
- 40:40Speaker 4: and I would even say, to further illustrate you a point,
- 40:45Speaker 4: you could make an argument that the first and the
- 40:46Speaker 4: third round picks are kind of guys for the future. Yeah,
- 40:50Speaker 4: you know, and low MoU and rear it in yep,
- 40:51Speaker 4: you know, they'll probably both see some time this year.
- 40:54Speaker 4: But you know, probably Akis is the only one of
- 40:58Speaker 4: those top three picks that is definitely good healthy. He's
- 41:03Speaker 4: definitely going to play a role right away. The other
- 41:06Speaker 4: two might not. I mean, in the perfect world, Lomo
- 41:09Speaker 4: doesn't play at all. You have your two tackles play
- 41:12Speaker 4: really well and if they stay healthy and you don't
- 41:14Speaker 4: have to worry about it. Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I don't like using the word rebuild in this situation.
- 41:19Speaker 3: To me, rebuild is you got your new head coach,
- 41:21Speaker 3: you got you got your quarterback. You're rebuilding. This is
- 41:24Speaker 3: more retooling. Yeah, reloading.
- 41:27Speaker 6: Well, I think they're just stacking, you know, like they're
- 41:29Speaker 6: stacking off seasons, and you know, I think that they
- 41:33Speaker 6: could have looked at last year's team and said, we
- 41:35Speaker 6: were four quarters away from being a champion, so nudge,
- 41:40Speaker 6: so over, Yeah, we're just going to run it back
- 41:42Speaker 6: and think they did that. You know, I agree with
- 41:44Speaker 6: Ev they didn't. They and a lot of those guys,
- 41:46Speaker 6: I thought, you know, Jennings to buy players like that
- 41:49Speaker 6: sort of impress them. I think maybe outperformed what they expected.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Would have been really easy to just kind of run
- 41:57Speaker 6: it back with all the same guys and say we
- 41:58Speaker 6: won fourteen games and made the super Bowl. But they,
- 42:01Speaker 6: I think realistically looked at it and said, we're still
- 42:04Speaker 6: not good enough.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I think that's Rabel's mindset is you know, there's no
- 42:08Speaker 3: standing still. You're either getting better or you're getting worse.
- 42:11Speaker 3: And you know, and that goes with not just personnel,
- 42:15Speaker 3: but in our philosophies.
- 42:17Speaker 5: You know, he's challenged them. He said that.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I think it was unforged, or he might have been
- 42:21Speaker 3: just in a press conference where I challenged my guys
- 42:24Speaker 3: to think of new things, you know, be creative. Just
- 42:28Speaker 3: because we did it one way last year doesn't mean
- 42:31Speaker 3: we have to do it the same way this year.
- 42:33Speaker 6: Yeah, I've been thinking about that, you know, like the
- 42:36Speaker 6: the scheme stuff that he was talking about that he
- 42:38Speaker 6: wanted like new ideas, and like what some of those
- 42:41Speaker 6: new ideas could be. Obviously I'd be like totally guessing,
- 42:44Speaker 6: but like, you know, there's some interesting things that you
- 42:47Speaker 6: could think of. You know, a lot of people I
- 42:49Speaker 6: think default to, well, they're getting more athletic on the
- 42:52Speaker 6: offensive line, So are they going to be more of
- 42:54Speaker 6: a zone blocking team? You know, are they going to
- 42:56Speaker 6: be more under center, zone bootlegs things like that?
- 43:00Speaker 4: You know.
- 43:00Speaker 6: Defensively, I would still like to see them get into
- 43:03Speaker 6: a little bit more dime and and play more six
- 43:05Speaker 6: defensive backs, especially on third down. You know, those types
- 43:08Speaker 6: of things like you come to mind as ways that
- 43:11Speaker 6: they might sort of shift or add or whatever. I'm
- 43:14Speaker 6: interested to see where they go with that, because that's
- 43:17Speaker 6: the fun stuff.
- 43:18Speaker 3: How about Eldred in North Carolina? What's up Eldred? You
- 43:22Speaker 3: were on Joe's Good Week.
- 43:24Speaker 19: Yeah, Well I'm glad because I'm gonna be me regardless.
- 43:29Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 43:29Speaker 19: How you doing, Alex, I'm good?
- 43:31Speaker 6: How are you?
- 43:32Speaker 19: I'm known? Okay, Hey, I got it.
- 43:34Speaker 4: I'm doing good too.
- 43:36Speaker 19: Okay, Well, Evan, Mike, Bread, Paul, my buddy.
- 43:42Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 43:42Speaker 19: I didn't mean leave everybody out.
- 43:44Speaker 6: No, it's okay, fine, we saw what you get it.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 43:47Speaker 19: On Twitter. Matter of fact, I put the brocket. I
- 43:51Speaker 19: put the podcast up there with the Eagles. Anybody keep saying,
- 43:56Speaker 19: A J hurt you out early to my like a
- 43:58Speaker 19: handshake deal. If he can, I'm out of it. You know,
- 44:00Speaker 19: you don't do it, and you know it's bad for him.
- 44:03Speaker 19: But like they said, he's he's a GM. He got
- 44:07Speaker 19: an image to uphold, get the best of whatever they want,
- 44:11Speaker 19: a first in a sucker, you know, because what water got.
- 44:15Speaker 19: So it's five teams that AJ put down, the Patriots,
- 44:19Speaker 19: the Packers, the Rams, the Chiefs and the Bills. Yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 19: rest and whatever. But they lately they said Jack was
- 44:27Speaker 19: in because they don't like beat B TJ. I take
- 44:29Speaker 19: him into there of the week and then uh poe
- 44:33Speaker 19: on him to help our quarterback. And then the Packers
- 44:38Speaker 19: are willing to give up a first and a fourth
- 44:40Speaker 19: of two to twenty seven. That's that's in their podcast,
- 44:43Speaker 19: and that's off they podcast, like y'all got, And I
- 44:46Speaker 19: subscribe to us. I can hear that episode right there.
- 44:48Speaker 19: That's the sucker when they put out that was yesterday
- 44:51Speaker 19: and they said he's shopping shopping around. You could go
- 44:54Speaker 19: allway to July to give him time to get what
- 44:57Speaker 19: he wants instead of jungle sucking.
- 45:00Speaker 5: They don't have a deal.
- 45:02Speaker 19: If they don't have a deal, right, So how you
- 45:04Speaker 19: feel about Wolf if he if he didn't just draft one,
- 45:07Speaker 19: just put pressure on them, you know, but you really
- 45:09Speaker 19: can't for pressure on him, so he won't that first
- 45:12Speaker 19: and that second, or that first and that third, and
- 45:15Speaker 19: maybe a player even eight podcast is saying that, And
- 45:19Speaker 19: I'm like, you gotta be kidding me. I thought it
- 45:21Speaker 19: was a done deal.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't.
- 45:23Speaker 6: I don't know anybody that's saying that it's going to
- 45:25Speaker 6: be all that extra stuff, Like I don't know, Like
- 45:27Speaker 6: when Adam Schefter comes out and is as matter of
- 45:30Speaker 6: fact about things as he has been on this particular subject,
- 45:34Speaker 6: like I'm gonna trust him over any podcast, including our own,
- 45:37Speaker 6: right Like I like, you know, he is as plugged
- 45:40Speaker 6: in as anybody, and so like I'm gonna take his
- 45:44Speaker 6: word that it's probably going to be like a twenty
- 45:47Speaker 6: twenty eight first or something like that. It's probably going
- 45:50Speaker 6: to be the Patriots. Like I think all the rest
- 45:52Speaker 6: of this kind of stuff with AJ Brown is just noise.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Yeah, Cameron, I hope. So Cameron in North Carol, know
- 46:00Speaker 3: what's up?
- 46:02Speaker 16: Hey everyone, I have two gripes, both with Evan Goods.
- 46:07Speaker 21: I just.
- 46:10Speaker 16: Yeah, just spent the two hours listening to yesterday's Catch
- 46:13Speaker 16: twenty two and thanks. I just cannot understand this, uh,
- 46:19Speaker 16: this whole Buffalo Bills not being a toss up, but
- 46:23Speaker 16: then when you're trying to explain it, you're literally defining
- 46:27Speaker 16: what a toss up would be. They got worse, we
- 46:30Speaker 16: got better. I heard your explanation. I'm sorry, I'm breeze
- 46:34Speaker 16: how to No, No, I'm actually cutting grass. But I
- 46:41Speaker 16: don't know. I didn't think Evan would know what that's about.
- 46:42Speaker 16: So I didn't say.
- 46:43Speaker 1: That, oh that that was a good one.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Wow.
- 46:50Speaker 16: No, But but really I just really important just to
- 46:52Speaker 16: see if you could explain that a little more, because
- 46:55Speaker 16: in my eyes, and it sounds like Bart's two, the
- 46:57Speaker 16: Bills did get worse. I feel like we got better.
- 47:00Speaker 16: They definitely reached on DJ Moore, But hearing you say
- 47:03Speaker 16: that the Chiefs and Arrowhead on Monday Night is not
- 47:06Speaker 16: a toss up. Yeah, it's not a toss up. A
- 47:09Speaker 16: Buffalo just because they have Josh Allen with a new
- 47:13Speaker 16: regime is not a toss up. But then you define
- 47:15Speaker 16: a toss up. I just kind of wanted some clarity
- 47:18Speaker 16: on that if you could, all right, uh, and I'll
- 47:20Speaker 16: take it off there, thanks.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Camera's pretty simple.
- 47:22Speaker 4: Was so we did.
- 47:24Speaker 6: We did an exercise where we ranked the Patriots schedule
- 47:27Speaker 6: from easiest opponent the hardest opponent, and we did, uh
- 47:31Speaker 6: we put them into tears like you know, uh tomato cans,
- 47:35Speaker 6: like you know, games they should win, uh, toss ups
- 47:39Speaker 6: or coin flip games, and then like the tough ones
- 47:41Speaker 6: on the schedule, And as we normally do, we bickered
- 47:44Speaker 6: about the Bills, and I had the Bills both Bills
- 47:48Speaker 6: games as tough games on the schedule, and Alex had
- 47:52Speaker 6: the Bills game here the home game as a toss up,
- 47:56Speaker 6: so meaning it was a little less than like a
- 47:58Speaker 6: hard game, like it was a little bit more in
- 48:00Speaker 6: the Patriots favor.
- 48:01Speaker 5: Said a toss up a tough game.
- 48:02Speaker 10: I did.
- 48:03Speaker 1: We're playing catch twenty.
- 48:04Speaker 4: I heard this whole explanation after because Evan came in
- 48:08Speaker 4: giddy because he got under Alex's skin, which is which
- 48:10Speaker 4: is which is which is what I was about to see.
- 48:12Speaker 6: The whole half of this was just to get on
- 48:14Speaker 6: Alex's nerves.
- 48:14Speaker 4: So I said, I got to tell you, if we
- 48:17Speaker 4: did this on PU, I could absolutely see Fred and
- 48:19Speaker 4: I getting into a fifteen minute arguments, sciantic argument the
- 48:23Speaker 4: differences between a toss up and here we got tough game,
- 48:26Speaker 4: and that's the part, and Fred just said it. I'm
- 48:28Speaker 4: with Fred. I can't argue with Fred on this because
- 48:31Speaker 4: we're lockstep. I don't really understand the difference. The tough game.
- 48:34Speaker 5: Should be just a game we're gonna lose.
- 48:35Speaker 6: So we got so we got into this whole argument
- 48:41Speaker 6: about it, and part of it was the semantics of
- 48:44Speaker 6: what's a toss up versus what's a tough game, which
- 48:47Speaker 6: was great. And plus Alex hates the Bills and hates
- 48:49Speaker 6: Buffalo and everything about them, so I just like the
- 48:52Speaker 6: needle them a little bit so to the collar. I
- 48:54Speaker 6: would say about forty five percent of it was me
- 48:56Speaker 6: needling Barth like that was easily the.
- 49:00Speaker 5: All of Mike Felton. Yeah.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Correct, And I'm just going to defend him because he
- 49:03Speaker 4: came in and he was giddy. You knew exactly what
- 49:06Speaker 4: he was doing, So I'm not surprising. I'm not surprised
- 49:09Speaker 4: that that's the reaction that Cameron's call because I think
- 49:13Speaker 4: contradicted myself on camera.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Now that you know that Evan was just kind of
- 49:17Speaker 3: like getting under his skin, because I hope that clears
- 49:20Speaker 3: it up for you a little bit now.
- 49:21Speaker 6: But there was also fifty percent of me that whenever
- 49:25Speaker 6: you played Josh Allen in a game, right, So.
- 49:29Speaker 4: That's just look up if you're a good team, if
- 49:33Speaker 4: you're a good team. So the Patriots, and we all
- 49:36Speaker 4: agreed the Patriots were a good team last year. So
- 49:40Speaker 4: I don't think there's such a thing as a game
- 49:41Speaker 4: that you don't think you can win. So I think
- 49:44Speaker 4: the tough games quote unquote are toss ups, right, That
- 49:49Speaker 4: would be my only And again this is we're not
- 49:52Speaker 4: going to bog this down argument.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Would you would you be a toss up?
- 49:55Speaker 22: Though?
- 49:55Speaker 1: If you went in as the underdog?
- 49:57Speaker 7: What do you call when you're But I still feel
- 49:59Speaker 7: get the unless you unless you don't think they can
- 50:02Speaker 7: win the game.
- 50:03Speaker 4: And I don't have a game like that because it's
- 50:05Speaker 4: the NFL. I think all the team. You know, if
- 50:07Speaker 4: you're good, Now, if you're a terrible team like Miami
- 50:12Speaker 4: at Seattle, I don't think is a toss up. That's
- 50:15Speaker 4: a game that Miami is probably not going to win.
- 50:17Speaker 4: I don't think the Patriots are in that situation.
- 50:19Speaker 6: So here here are my my my coin flips. I
- 50:22Speaker 6: had five coin flip games, Packers at Chargers, at Jags,
- 50:27Speaker 6: Broncos at Bears on Thursday night. All right, here are
- 50:30Speaker 6: my tough games, both Bills games. And this is where
- 50:33Speaker 6: we got bogged down because Alex had the right both
- 50:41Speaker 6: Bills games at Kansas City, Detroit, and Munich and the
- 50:45Speaker 6: hardest game on both of our rankings was at Seattle,
- 50:48Speaker 6: obviously in the opener.
- 50:50Speaker 5: So do you think they're going to lose those games?
- 50:52Speaker 6: I think that those those are tough, Like I would
- 50:55Speaker 6: say that like if they won, if they if they
- 50:58Speaker 6: won those games, then that would be like so making
- 51:00Speaker 6: a statement like.
- 51:01Speaker 3: That would be coin flip games aren't tough.
- 51:03Speaker 1: The coin flip games are coin flip games.
- 51:05Speaker 4: But are they fifty?
- 51:07Speaker 5: There doesn't win because they're.
- 51:12Speaker 1: With you fresh six seven? So well, is it's too
- 51:17Speaker 1: simple to say some are fifty to fifty? But some
- 51:19Speaker 1: of you feel forty sixty, like, you.
- 51:21Speaker 6: Know, so these ones are a little bit tougher than
- 51:23Speaker 6: fifty to fifty. But then he was sixty seventy, and
- 51:28Speaker 6: all I was said, you know, I was actually tempted
- 51:31Speaker 6: to not have Kansas City and the hard hardest tier.
- 51:34Speaker 4: I wouldn't, but because it's.
- 51:36Speaker 6: At Arrowhead, and I until I see that Mahomes isn't
- 51:41Speaker 6: still Mahomes and you know all that, I'm going to
- 51:43Speaker 6: give them the benefit of doubt. Obviously you're assuming that
- 51:45Speaker 6: everybody's healthy and all that. So I put them in there.
- 51:49Speaker 6: But they were the one team that I was like,
- 51:51Speaker 6: I kind of a tempted to put this I'd be
- 51:54Speaker 6: a little hot taky, but I'm attempted to put this
- 51:56Speaker 6: on a lower tier. But we got really bogged down
- 52:00Speaker 6: the Bill's game. And my my only thing to the
- 52:02Speaker 6: caller Josh Allen, like if you beat Josh Allen, that
- 52:06Speaker 6: that's an accomplishment.
- 52:07Speaker 5: I think it is all.
- 52:08Speaker 4: I think that way. A lot of Patriots fans that
- 52:11Speaker 4: don't feel different.
- 52:12Speaker 6: When they just they can't, they can't they can't accept
- 52:18Speaker 6: that to say that Josh Allen's good. They can't, they
- 52:22Speaker 6: can't do it now, it's unbelievable, Like the guy's been
- 52:25Speaker 6: a perennial m VP candidate for half a decade and
- 52:28Speaker 6: we can't bring.
- 52:30Speaker 3: If you're a Patriots fan, you're better saying Josh Allen
- 52:33Speaker 3: is good, so when you beat him, it's more of
- 52:35Speaker 3: an accomplishment.
- 52:37Speaker 4: I think That's how I look at it. That's how
- 52:39Speaker 4: I look at it. I can think the team might
- 52:41Speaker 4: be overrated or whatever, but I still respect the bit. Like,
- 52:44Speaker 4: I'm not going to sit here and tell you the
- 52:46Speaker 4: Patriots will have accomplished nothing if they go on a
- 52:48Speaker 4: Monday Night in Kansas City and beat even a weaker
- 52:51Speaker 4: Kansas City team than what we've seen in recent years.
- 52:54Speaker 4: That's unless they completely fall apart, which I don't envision
- 52:57Speaker 4: with Mahomes. That's that's going to be a good win.
- 53:00Speaker 4: If the Patriots winning Kansas City, even if they're a
- 53:03Speaker 4: middling five hundred team, that's a good win. Yeah, because
- 53:05Speaker 4: I respect Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes and what they've done.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Nate's and Iowa same.
- 53:11Speaker 5: What's up, Nate?
- 53:13Speaker 21: Hey, guys, how's it going good? I have a prediction
- 53:18Speaker 21: with no evidence to back this up, but feeling that, Yeah,
- 53:24Speaker 21: I think that in the NFL in its entirety this season,
- 53:27Speaker 21: we're going to see more like mediocre teams in terms
- 53:33Speaker 21: that we're not going to have as many juggernauts as
- 53:35Speaker 21: we did like last year or the year before, or
- 53:38Speaker 21: as many crappy teams as many. So we're gonna see
- 53:41Speaker 21: like more teams like floating around like nine and eight
- 53:43Speaker 21: and ten and seven. And then I also have a question.
- 53:47Speaker 21: I know last year people were talking about how like
- 53:50Speaker 21: Drake May's quarterback draft class is gonna kind of you know,
- 53:54Speaker 21: reset the market in terms of their salary or whatever.
- 53:58Speaker 21: What do you think we have to see out of
- 54:01Speaker 21: Drake May this year or even next year to as
- 54:05Speaker 21: him be the highest paid quarterback or player of all time?
- 54:09Speaker 16: Answer?
- 54:10Speaker 23: Thank you.
- 54:10Speaker 6: I think he's going to be until the next timing, right, Yeah,
- 54:14Speaker 6: it is timing.
- 54:14Speaker 3: But let's let's play the game. What would make you
- 54:18Speaker 3: really comfortable as an as Robert Kraft paying him the
- 54:22Speaker 3: top salary as a quarterback and Mike Rabel and Elliott Wolf.
- 54:27Speaker 6: I mean, as long as he plays the same way, similar,
- 54:30Speaker 6: similar take care of the ball, you know, show continued
- 54:33Speaker 6: growth within the system, you know, just not getting sped up,
- 54:37Speaker 6: not getting into the you know some of the times
- 54:38Speaker 6: last year where you felt like he'd get out of
- 54:40Speaker 6: it for brief periods, I mean in the playoffs was different.
- 54:43Speaker 7: But you know, just continue to be. I mean, you complete,
- 54:45Speaker 7: you set the record for completion percentage. I mean, you're
- 54:48Speaker 7: doing something right. So, but it's gonna be harder this year.
- 54:51Speaker 1: They're gonna better defenses. There's gonna be road games.
- 54:53Speaker 8: Of real consistency in the playoffs too.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Just I would just sign up right now, no slippage saying,
- 55:00Speaker 4: you know, similar kind of year. And I'm not talking
- 55:02Speaker 4: about statistically because you just mentioned one stat that I
- 55:05Speaker 4: don't care about, you know, and I think it's unrealistic
- 55:08Speaker 4: to have him complete all those bombs next year, Like
- 55:11Speaker 4: so statistically he might not have the e p A
- 55:14Speaker 4: on some of those who some of those throws downfield
- 55:17Speaker 4: right that.
- 55:17Speaker 6: Was through the charts are talking about c Yeah, the
- 55:21Speaker 6: defas with the different number, you're.
- 55:24Speaker 4: None of the matter to anybody, but you.
- 55:26Speaker 6: Went, you know, you nailed it over expectation.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's unrealistic to expect her to complete
- 55:34Speaker 4: all of those bombs again. But he can very well
- 55:37Speaker 4: have just as good as season and if he does that,
- 55:40Speaker 4: then I would be okay with it. But you guys
- 55:41Speaker 4: are right about the highest paid player in the game,
- 55:44Speaker 4: who signs first or second? Him or Caleb Williams, right,
- 55:48Speaker 4: because second is going to be the one who's the
- 55:51Speaker 4: most And if Jaden Daniels bounces back and he signs third,
- 55:54Speaker 4: he could.
- 55:54Speaker 6: Be the highest the way it works, yeah, I mean,
- 55:57Speaker 6: I just think that as much as you would like
- 55:58Speaker 6: to see a lot of those, it's a girl anounces, right,
- 56:01Speaker 6: you know, better playoff performance certainly is on that list.
- 56:04Speaker 6: You get into a point where it's like, well, what
- 56:06Speaker 6: are you going to do if you don't pay him?
- 56:07Speaker 6: So now you're going to go draft another quarterback and
- 56:09Speaker 6: you're gonna go back into the well.
- 56:11Speaker 4: And I would have already had it because if he
- 56:13Speaker 4: shows significant slippage, yeah right, and like, oh, was that
- 56:16Speaker 4: maybe a little bit of a flash in the pan
- 56:17Speaker 4: and that's not really what he is right, then I
- 56:20Speaker 4: would sit there and say, hm, maybe I need to
- 56:22Speaker 4: see a little more.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm looking for has he totally embraced
- 56:28Speaker 3: being the leader of the team. Is he has he
- 56:30Speaker 3: embraced that? And is he doing it? And he's consistently
- 56:34Speaker 3: the reason why we're in the games. And I think
- 56:37Speaker 3: that was the quick case last year until Paul's point,
- 56:39Speaker 3: as long as that remains the case, that he's the
- 56:42Speaker 3: reason why we have a chance.
- 56:46Speaker 4: Wouldn't because of him a lot of times?
- 56:47Speaker 7: Well, I mean, I've seen enough of his deep ball
- 56:49Speaker 7: accuracy and I agree, I mean, agree with your point, Paul.
- 56:51Speaker 1: It's gonna be hard to reproduce what he did last year.
- 56:53Speaker 7: But from the minute go in training camp as a rookie,
- 56:56Speaker 7: you could see that he's got the willingness to push
- 56:58Speaker 7: the ball down the field and he's got that actor.
- 57:00Speaker 1: See.
- 57:00Speaker 7: I think what I'm preparing myself for this season is
- 57:03Speaker 7: for statistically him to have a little bit of a
- 57:05Speaker 7: drop off, but us debating he's not as good statistically,
- 57:09Speaker 7: but is he better because a better defenses? And you
- 57:13Speaker 7: know it was brutal in this one game, but man
- 57:15Speaker 7: at the end he pulled you know, those kind of
- 57:16Speaker 7: things of how do we parse out not statistically matching
- 57:20Speaker 7: up to what he did last year, but still feeling
- 57:22Speaker 7: like he's a good player and he's making strides.
- 57:24Speaker 4: And Nate, I think that you have a chance for
- 57:26Speaker 4: your sort of anecdotal observation of the league. I think
- 57:31Speaker 4: that's probably accurate. I think we saw a little bit
- 57:33Speaker 4: of that last year. And I know, you know, the
- 57:35Speaker 4: Patriots and the Broncos had very gaudy records, but I
- 57:39Speaker 4: don't necessarily think they were the juggernaut type teams. I
- 57:42Speaker 4: certainly don't think Seattle was, even though they were ultimately
- 57:45Speaker 4: the best team in football. I think there is a
- 57:48Speaker 4: much bigger middle than top and bottom, so what the
- 57:52Speaker 4: league wants, and I think you're I think he's probably
- 57:55Speaker 4: right about that.
- 57:57Speaker 7: It's such a great example of why the strength of
- 57:59Speaker 7: schedule stuff is stupid, because, yeah, the Patriots were fourteen
- 58:01Speaker 7: and three last year?
- 58:02Speaker 1: Were they a real fourteen and three team?
- 58:04Speaker 7: Now, all these teams playing in this year are getting
- 58:06Speaker 7: credit for playing one of the best teams in the league,
- 58:09Speaker 7: and so you know, you know, it's yeah, they were
- 58:11Speaker 7: very good team last year. But yeah, I think all
- 58:13Speaker 7: those you get so caught up in this drink of
- 58:15Speaker 7: schedule stuff that you know it is going to kind
- 58:16Speaker 7: of regress.
- 58:17Speaker 5: Might do so Patriots weren't that good a team last year.
- 58:20Speaker 6: We're working on the strength of schedule thing.
- 58:21Speaker 4: We're like, that's how I read it.
- 58:23Speaker 6: We're making small inroads on like getting rid of using
- 58:26Speaker 6: last year's records for strength to schedule the following year.
- 58:29Speaker 6: I feel like the nerds we were breaking down that way.
- 58:34Speaker 7: We could do a better fight, just basically like DVOA,
- 58:37Speaker 7: that kind of stuff.
- 58:38Speaker 6: Where there's many great ways, even like Vegas win totals,
- 58:42Speaker 6: you know what Vegas things, each team is going to
- 58:44Speaker 6: be in twenty twenty six. At least you're forecasting what
- 58:48Speaker 6: this version of these teams are going to be. It's
- 58:50Speaker 6: not always accurate, but at least it's like, Okay, this
- 58:53Speaker 6: team has a different coach, this team has a different quarterback,
- 58:56Speaker 6: this team has flipped fifty percent of their roster, like
- 58:59Speaker 6: and we're at least facing it off of like you know,
- 59:02Speaker 6: the Patriots this year and these teams this year.
- 59:05Speaker 3: I think very few teams go into a new season
- 59:07Speaker 3: thinking we didn't get a little better. Oh, I mean,
- 59:10Speaker 3: if it didn't when it's some that you know obviously,
- 59:13Speaker 3: but most teams feel we've improved on paper.
- 59:16Speaker 7: Well, again, like the point I made on a previous
- 59:18Speaker 7: show is just that the teams that should feel they
- 59:20Speaker 7: got the most better were the teams that sucked because
- 59:21Speaker 7: they had the most to do.
- 59:23Speaker 1: If you're a great team and you're continually building.
- 59:25Speaker 7: For the future, and you're saying, you know, we're drafting
- 59:27Speaker 7: guys that might not contribute this year, but we have
- 59:29Speaker 7: that luxury right now and we're going to maintain the
- 59:32Speaker 7: level of dominance.
- 59:32Speaker 1: I don't think you need to come out of.
- 59:34Speaker 7: The offseason if you're one of the best teams in
- 59:35Speaker 7: the league and feel like we got way better.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I mean, you definitely want to feel like you're going
- 59:39Speaker 1: to improve.
- 59:39Speaker 7: But I always have felt that people just dismiss anybody
- 59:43Speaker 7: on the team improving like that is not a factor
- 59:45Speaker 7: at all. I think that's the number one factor, and
- 59:48Speaker 7: I to be honest with right, and that's just so
- 59:50Speaker 7: underrated to me. Strides that guys make. So so much
- 59:55Speaker 7: of the offseason is judged.
- 59:56Speaker 1: What did you do in free agency? Well, we know,
- 59:58Speaker 1: like when you suck, you have to go to free agency.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: You have to make moves that make your fan base
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: feel like we got way better.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: I was listening to Taylor Kyle's and he was saying,
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: how Kyle Williams is going to.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: Take a bag.
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: He's up to ninety I know you know about that
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: ninety Yeah, put on put on some muscle this off
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: seats Taylor did.
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: I thought he was heavier than he's got the.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Yeah shoulders though I asked.
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: I was asking Ahmed about this, Like Taylor is huge,
- 1:00:24Speaker 7: Like what he's just getting the gym he.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Could probably look like playing and he's like he's got
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: bad shoulders.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: He's holding up Seal and f.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Along with him. Grdi Bart Catholic.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: Cameron's in Watertown another Cameron. What's up?
- 1:00:40Speaker 14: Hey everyone? How are we doing today?
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Good?
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Fine?
- 1:00:45Speaker 14: Two part question and this is just something that I've
- 1:00:48Speaker 14: heard pretty consistently over but just looking for fifth into
- 1:00:53Speaker 14: Josh McDaniel's system as it relates to the offense and
- 1:00:57Speaker 14: other than you know, the option route and the quarterback
- 1:01:00Speaker 14: making a lot of the calls on the line of scrimmage.
- 1:01:03Speaker 14: I feel like we're still kind of searching for it,
- 1:01:06Speaker 14: at least I am what Josh McDaniel's mentality and culture
- 1:01:10Speaker 14: is as the offense. Second point I do want to
- 1:01:13Speaker 14: make is are we sure McDaniels is going to be
- 1:01:16Speaker 14: the guy to take Drake May to another level? Obviously
- 1:01:21Speaker 14: we're going to have the security of an offensive coordinator
- 1:01:24Speaker 14: with us for a little bit, but I'm not sure
- 1:01:26Speaker 14: if he's really going to be the guy to get
- 1:01:28Speaker 14: Drake May that MVP leaven the Super Bowl Championship. I'll
- 1:01:32Speaker 14: take it offline. Thanks guys.
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: He was okay, he was three votes from being the
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: MVP last year with Josh McDaniels as this play caller.
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: So it's a small.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: That astounds me is the amount of hate that Josh
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: still gets. I don't think. I don't think it's the majority,
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: but yeah, calls like that.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: I think one of.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: The toughest jobs in the NFL is being an offensive
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: coordinator because you're judged every play, every.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Should have been a run. They try to pass it.
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: I think he's one of the best play callers in
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: the league, and I don't think that that's like arguable.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: I really look at his track record with the Patriots.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: Now you want to go with the Raiders, the Broncos
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: the offensive coordinator year, and with the Rams, there's a
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: lot of negative stuff you can point to. With the
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Patriots with now different quarterbacks, he's been consistently productive.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: The fact how many patrion he went with nine seven seven,
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: amazing tens with Matt Jones amazing all right, I think
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: our calls were really good today.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: I think I think the show's only half over. We are.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Well, we're going to take a break now, but I
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: think so far the calls have been excellent.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: So good.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: There you go.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: All right, I see a lot of really cool emails,
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: so we're going to get to those right after this.

- 1:05:03Speaker 2: What was it like to go to Six Flags.
- 1:05:05Speaker 25: That, guys?
- 1:05:07Speaker 22: Guys, So basically, I haven't rolle a roller coaster in
- 1:05:11Speaker 22: a very long time, so i'd probably say like fifteen
- 1:05:15Speaker 22: fourteen years. And I love my feet being on the
- 1:05:17Speaker 22: ground and I like being in control, So that situation,
- 1:05:21Speaker 22: it was a great experience. You know, a lot of
- 1:05:22Speaker 22: laughter that came into it. But I'm gonna be honest,
- 1:05:24Speaker 22: like I was serious on those risk guys. I'm not
- 1:05:26Speaker 22: a fan, but I'm glad it came out like that,
- 1:05:29Speaker 22: and the media team put in a lot of you know,
- 1:05:32Speaker 22: hard working hours into it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 25: So I loved the situation of all of it for sure.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: I'm sorry. I would be convince you to deal.
- 1:05:39Speaker 22: With them just tab it of peer pressure, just a tabit.
- 1:05:43Speaker 25: So they got me.
- 1:05:45Speaker 22: We started on like a small roller coaster and then
- 1:05:47Speaker 22: kind of went from there. And then I was just like, guys,
- 1:05:50Speaker 22: I'm just not you know, my my heart racing, my
- 1:05:53Speaker 22: adrenaline Russian and everything. And I've been in situations to
- 1:05:56Speaker 22: where my adrenaline rush when I rum back there a
- 1:05:57Speaker 22: part returning, but that's a little different, you know.
- 1:05:59Speaker 25: So but yeah, that's how they got me.
- 1:06:01Speaker 26: I'm curious who was the funniest on the roller coaster,
- 1:06:06Speaker 26: like when you were riding, Like, who.
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: Was just so out there?
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: What?
- 1:06:11Speaker 25: I think it was me and Craig.
- 1:06:13Speaker 22: I mean, of course I gotta say myself, guys, me
- 1:06:15Speaker 22: and Craig, I would say the people that weren't you know,
- 1:06:18Speaker 22: they kept the straight face as you guys seen Trevon,
- 1:06:20Speaker 22: Like I said, that's a problem. People get on roller
- 1:06:22Speaker 22: coasters to make facial expressions, not to sit there and
- 1:06:24Speaker 22: just not making any So him and then Gonza was
- 1:06:27Speaker 22: pretty cool too, you know as well. I was like,
- 1:06:29Speaker 22: I don't know how you guys being cool, cold and collective,
- 1:06:31Speaker 22: but that's not my my forte at all.
- 1:06:34Speaker 27: What do you make of the schedule? And obviously the
- 1:06:36Speaker 27: first game Wednesday night in the Super Bowl rematch.
- 1:06:40Speaker 25: Yeah, I feel like at the end of the day.
- 1:06:42Speaker 25: You know, it's a new year.
- 1:06:43Speaker 22: You know, I'm happy about the situation of hearing the
- 1:06:47Speaker 22: schedule off, the fact that we're getting closer to, you know,
- 1:06:49Speaker 22: what we love to be a part of.
- 1:06:50Speaker 25: But at the end of the day, like we're not
- 1:06:52Speaker 25: looking too far far forward.
- 1:06:55Speaker 22: I would say, of course, you know, super Bowl rematch
- 1:06:57Speaker 22: back the end of the day, you know, controlling what
- 1:06:59Speaker 22: we can control, and it's a lot of things that
- 1:07:00Speaker 22: we got to get installed training camp that come down
- 1:07:03Speaker 22: to it, you know, build during preseason and everything.
- 1:07:06Speaker 25: But we're excited about week one.
- 1:07:08Speaker 27: We talked the Hunter and Robert whatever it was about
- 1:07:11Speaker 27: a month ago. He still said that mound is fresh.
- 1:07:13Speaker 27: Do you feel sort of the same way and if
- 1:07:15Speaker 27: you came back and watched it and this had happened,
- 1:07:18Speaker 27: or if this had happened to kind of go through
- 1:07:19Speaker 27: it like.
- 1:07:20Speaker 22: That, Yeah, for sure. At the end of the day,
- 1:07:22Speaker 22: you know, we put in a lot of work. You know,
- 1:07:23Speaker 22: you get all the way to where you wanted to be,
- 1:07:25Speaker 22: and we didn't get the job done. I mean, we
- 1:07:27Speaker 22: understand it, but we know our potential and we know
- 1:07:29Speaker 22: how far that we can go. So you know, you
- 1:07:31Speaker 22: have a lot of guys that's back on the team
- 1:07:32Speaker 22: that's been in those situations. So we understand that we
- 1:07:34Speaker 22: don't want that to happen again. And it's a long path.
- 1:07:37Speaker 22: You know, it's week one, you know, after that game,
- 1:07:39Speaker 22: then we'll be on the week two. So not looking
- 1:07:41Speaker 22: too far into the future, but knowing where our feet
- 1:07:43Speaker 22: are wet.
- 1:07:44Speaker 16: A schedule, you know, for the first time, what do
- 1:07:45Speaker 16: you look for?
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Is it place you have been certain teams, pockets of
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: difficult games?
- 1:07:51Speaker 16: What do you look at that when you look at
- 1:07:53Speaker 16: that schedule the first time.
- 1:07:54Speaker 22: Yeah, the first thing I'm gonna be honest that I
- 1:07:56Speaker 22: look for whenever I look at it is what family
- 1:07:58Speaker 22: members are going to?
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: What game?
- 1:08:00Speaker 25: That's the first thing that we kind of look at
- 1:08:01Speaker 25: is like, all right, are we at the West Coast?
- 1:08:03Speaker 25: Are we over here? That's the first day.
- 1:08:04Speaker 22: But other than football wise, you know, at the end
- 1:08:07Speaker 22: of the day, that's out of our control. We think about,
- 1:08:10Speaker 22: you know, whoever we play is whoever we play. Like
- 1:08:12Speaker 22: I said, man, we go one week at a time
- 1:08:15Speaker 22: and then kind of go from there. But we know
- 1:08:17Speaker 22: that we always play our division games, you know, twice
- 1:08:20Speaker 22: those teams. But at the end of the day, we
- 1:08:22Speaker 22: don't look too much into exactly who we're playing.
- 1:08:24Speaker 26: Marcus, I'm wondering your thoughts on your secondary, especially now
- 1:08:29Speaker 26: with the addition of Kevin Bard and what that does
- 1:08:31Speaker 26: for you.
- 1:08:32Speaker 22: Yeah, first off, man, KB, he brings in a lot
- 1:08:35Speaker 22: of experience back there. You know, a guy like that,
- 1:08:38Speaker 22: He's seen a lot of different offensive schemes as well,
- 1:08:41Speaker 22: So we've.
- 1:08:42Speaker 25: Been talking about a lot of stuff.
- 1:08:43Speaker 22: You know, we have guys as part of the defense
- 1:08:45Speaker 22: is helping him out on certain things. And then also,
- 1:08:47Speaker 22: you know, he knows about different offensive coordinators when it
- 1:08:49Speaker 22: comes down to it, and being a part of that
- 1:08:53Speaker 22: of that conference, you know, in the NFC, you know,
- 1:08:55Speaker 22: so we play that side and everything. So he's been
- 1:08:57Speaker 22: a part of it, so that's very important. So he
- 1:09:00Speaker 22: kind of knows those situations of certain offensive coordinators that
- 1:09:05Speaker 22: like to run different schemes, you know, put certain coverages
- 1:09:07Speaker 22: in a bind. So having that part of our team
- 1:09:10Speaker 22: means a lot.
- 1:09:11Speaker 26: Do you like the group as a whole now that
- 1:09:13Speaker 26: you're all together and potentially what you could do for sure?
- 1:09:17Speaker 22: Man, everyone has a personality, so that's that's great. And
- 1:09:20Speaker 22: then our DV room at the end of the day,
- 1:09:22Speaker 22: anyone that's in that room. Man, we treat him like family,
- 1:09:24Speaker 22: So we want to make sure that we get to
- 1:09:26Speaker 22: know everyone off the field. When it comes down to
- 1:09:28Speaker 22: a football is great, but building that bond is so important.
- 1:09:31Speaker 22: So that's something that we always try to scribe for two.
- 1:09:34Speaker 26: Coaches, real quick on Jeremy Springer. First, he got that
- 1:09:37Speaker 26: contract extension that this off season. What has it been
- 1:09:40Speaker 26: like working with him and to see what to like
- 1:09:42Speaker 26: to see him rewarded.
- 1:09:43Speaker 25: Yeah, it means a lot.
- 1:09:44Speaker 22: You know, Uh, spring came in where the sense of
- 1:09:47Speaker 22: you know, he's been through different head coaches. You know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 22: as you guys may have seen that that's hard for
- 1:09:51Speaker 22: coaches to end up being part of new systems, and
- 1:09:54Speaker 22: then also head coaches trusting him that he's going to
- 1:09:56Speaker 22: do the right job.
- 1:09:57Speaker 25: So I'm happy for him in that regard.
- 1:09:59Speaker 22: And then off so like at the end of the day,
- 1:10:01Speaker 22: what we're doing out there on the field, you know,
- 1:10:02Speaker 22: it is a reflection of him. And we've been able
- 1:10:04Speaker 22: to do a lot on the special team side, not
- 1:10:06Speaker 22: only returning, but also on kickoff calls and turnovers, you know,
- 1:10:09Speaker 22: things that those that nature, So that means a lot.
- 1:10:11Speaker 22: And then also like when it comes down to it.
- 1:10:13Speaker 22: He's always listening to us as well whenever we're out there, Hey, Spring,
- 1:10:16Speaker 22: we kind of seen this, all right, we can go
- 1:10:17Speaker 22: ahead and just kind of do this. So it's a
- 1:10:19Speaker 22: big trust thing. And you know, you guys talk to
- 1:10:21Speaker 22: Schooler in schools. One of those guys too that talked
- 1:10:23Speaker 22: the Spring as well. So having that relationship means a lot.
- 1:10:26Speaker 26: Zephyr as well being promoted full time now to getting
- 1:10:30Speaker 26: that official role as defensive coordinator.
- 1:10:32Speaker 22: Yeah, first off, man, I commend him for you know,
- 1:10:35Speaker 22: stepping in shoes. That was you know, big shoes at
- 1:10:37Speaker 22: the time. You know, he's never been in that situation.
- 1:10:40Speaker 22: But at the end of the day, he was always
- 1:10:42Speaker 22: letting us know certain plays, you know, certain schemes.
- 1:10:46Speaker 25: How you guys feel about this?
- 1:10:48Speaker 22: He talked to us on the back end, and I
- 1:10:49Speaker 22: also talk to the guys like what type of blitz
- 1:10:51Speaker 22: is wh what are they doing right here? What do
- 1:10:52Speaker 22: you guys see out there on the field? And then
- 1:10:55Speaker 22: it's a it's a team effort at the end of
- 1:10:57Speaker 22: the day. You know, I feel like everyone on the
- 1:10:58Speaker 22: coaching staff always asked to play, how do you feel
- 1:11:01Speaker 22: about this? And that means a lot because at the
- 1:11:03Speaker 22: end of the day. They can see it out there
- 1:11:04Speaker 22: on the field, but they're not us on the field
- 1:11:06Speaker 22: as well.
- 1:11:06Speaker 25: So I feel like it's a it's a team thing.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: And now great moments in.
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: History to make.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Them trade happen, but they got an All Star.
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: When is the trade headline?
- 1:11:19Speaker 6: By the way, July end of July?
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: And I just don't know why trading for a month
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: and a half. It's a month and a half for now.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: You don't know how calendars work. It's less than a
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: month away the trade deadline, he said, the end of July.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Usually it's the middle of July. But but it's the
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: end of June.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Now it's like seventeen that's the middle of which is
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: middle of June.
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: So it's less than a month away.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: I said a month and a half because he said
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: it was the end of July.
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: You know, so the thirty So the thirty first is
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: a month and a half.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, you're right, that's a month and a half.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: It's July thirty first happen and a half. Why do
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: you have to wait till you're right on time? I said,
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: you're no, it's not.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: That's another great moment from.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: Welcome back to Patriots on Filtered a five to five.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Pats five hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: Is the way to email. We've got a lot of emails.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: I'm going to get to them in a moment. We
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: got Evan, we got Paul, we got Alex, we got Mike,
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: we got Matt and the booth mixing it up here,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: talking mostly about Patriots.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: Your Red Sox swept big. Here we go, we go
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: the picture, the picture. We actually watch a lot of
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: the game last night. Duran, good game.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Yeah's a home run.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: I would trade him today. Wow, coming off a good series,
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: someone might want them. I might be deceived.
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: It's too bad that Chapman's like having this type of
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: season and they like can never get him the ball
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: at the leads.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: But he's like he was great last year, lights out.
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: He's been a little kind.
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: Of a little bit, a little bit shaky.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: He's been a little I think it's loaded the other
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: day advanced numbers. Actually they were last year, Matt. I've
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: asked nicely for the for the two times that Fred
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: and I argued that I was wrong, I asked you
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: to eliminate those in the recaps the two times that
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: was that was one of them. I don't want to
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: hear those anymore. I don't like when I'm wrong. I
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: was ru uh all right.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Podcast at pages dot com is the email address? What's
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: going on, Alex? Anything good for this week?
- 1:13:25Speaker 8: I've been kind of stuck. I got to listen to
- 1:13:28Speaker 8: the end of Tuesday show. I think it's some inspiration
- 1:13:30Speaker 8: for you guys.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: You've been busy this week.
- 1:13:33Speaker 6: I wanted to ask you about You've been very busy
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: this week. You had Drake made on Tuesday right at
- 1:13:38Speaker 6: the Children's Hospital.
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: We went to go visit some kids at Boston Children's.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Tuesday, community Community Day.
- 1:13:46Speaker 8: And Michael and then Community Day was yesterday with the
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: whole team.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: And all the coaches.
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: Tidbits from Community Day.
- 1:13:53Speaker 8: The guys were in really fun, good moods, but not
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: really like.
- 1:14:00Speaker 10: Pretty community straightforward.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: You know a lot of kids running around.
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: It's from Young Woods Elementary School in Providence. They were
- 1:14:07Speaker 8: our adopted school. Yeah, it was a good event. It
- 1:14:09Speaker 8: was like field day. They were going crazy.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: Drake was was breaking down how to throw the football
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: and then when the kids got it and he got.
- 1:14:18Speaker 8: Pretty into really attentive with the kids, like breaking down
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: their mechanics and stuff like obviously on a very basic
- 1:14:24Speaker 8: level to the best he could.
- 1:14:25Speaker 10: But I saw some kids improve, like genuinely.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: I mean that's a big thing.
- 1:14:29Speaker 10: I like those kids.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: I don't. I don't think I ever had the opportunity
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: to like go to what sports teams place and interact
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: with their team. I like one time my father took
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: me to a Little League thing and I met Bud Harrelson.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: I mean that's the extent of it.
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: Was that in your Mets fandom, yeah face, oh yeah, oh.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Michail Hodges, but that was the hard one that absolutely.
- 1:14:52Speaker 7: mL CAR came to our like elementary school, and I
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: was a kid, and I was like, who's this giant guy?
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: Like I didn't know him recognition wise, like as a kid,
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: but I mean that was the whole school, like like going.
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: Out for mL CAR. mL CAR spoke at our club banquet.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Never get Derek Sanderson's saners to everybody who waved.
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: The Evans generation probably got. I didn't ever get any
- 1:15:14Speaker 8: athletes going out to Springfield area for anything like cool, Like.
- 1:15:19Speaker 10: We had Chris Harron and I'm sure you yes, rounds.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: He's really good excellent.
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: He's really good.
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: I was like one of those assemblies that actually was like, wow,
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: that was kind of cool.
- 1:15:30Speaker 7: That was my Derek Sanderson one, which was the don't
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: do drugs, you know high schools. So I went to
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: I know I went to high school, right that cocaine
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: it helps you.
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I knew that. I went to high school with
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: Derek Sanderson's son Ryan, so we were in the same brain.
- 1:15:53Speaker 6: So I've actually been to his house and everything.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: I've never met Derek now I was still talking. He
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: just was.
- 1:15:59Speaker 7: I mean, it's like tip, you know, it's just the
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: old athletes that had knee injuries and like they can't
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: really move all that great anymore.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: But yeah, he's got crazy stories.
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: Yeah, we had a couple like that where like we
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: would have remember charity events, you know at school, and
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: like a athlete from one of the teams would come
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: and that would be like the big draw was like
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: I actually think Teddy Bruski was at one of them. Yeah,
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: Brian Scalabrini was out for sure. You know, like those
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: they would always like get one of the local athletes
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: to like be sort of the draw, you know, like
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: you'd be.
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: At the top of the and everybody's got a Bobby
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: or autograph, right, like you're just issued that, correct, Like
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: I have like three Bobby.
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: I didn't. My mother in law Bobby the Bobby or
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: book the like his biography, and he signed it. She
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: went and signed for That's the one reason why I have.
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: Yeah, she got that from me for Christmas, like every
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: house of course, you know, yeah finish.
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: Do you remember Freddy?
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: I did have the picture maybe a panel of the
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: stadium too, like.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: The do you remember the Star Market home run sweep stix?
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: Like growing up vaguely, So I went to the Butch
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: Hops and Jim Rice's home run clinic. It was at
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: like Brandeis and uh so, yeah, it was probably like
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: maybe ten or eleven at the time, and Jim Rice
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: could not have been better. He was fantastic. Butch Hopson
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: was late. I showed up like a half hour late smoking,
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: but it was probably back to the cocaine. He was
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: probably doing lines based on the rest of his career.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: But yeah, that was a good time. Yeah, that was
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: a good time. But it's funny like you talk about
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: getting like Drake May showing a kid how to throw,
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: so like Jim Rice gets up and he talks for
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: about five minutes, you know, just some fundamentals of hitting
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: and how important is to pick a bat that's the
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: right size, you know, not too heavy for you, and
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: you know, all these different things. So then we get
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: up and we all get it chance to take some swings,
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: and they don't have any bats that are like little leagues,
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: and they're all little kids, like I know, like they're
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: all my age, and we're using like these like thirty.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Four inch bats as tall as you are.
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: And you could just see the exasperation on Rice's faces,
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: like I just got pick a bat that's like everybody's
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: choking up like halfway up the bat to try to
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: get these bats around all right.
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: Yeah, so yeah, I never had that experience. So I
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: thought that was cool for the kids yesterday.
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: Yeah, really cool it was.
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: And it's cool that they got to come here because
- 1:18:33Speaker 8: usually it's the guys going to their schools or going
- 1:18:36Speaker 8: to a boys and girls club, but they got to
- 1:18:38Speaker 8: literally go to the brand new facility. Like there's probably
- 1:18:42Speaker 8: Patriots players maybe that haven't been at camp yet, that
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: hasn't haven't touched that field yet, right, but like the kids.
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: Have Yeah, there you go.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you got to go there.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: We're just talking about you just.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: Can't help himself. But he doesn't think they were any
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: good last year, and now he's telling you the one
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: thing that's maybe not go.
- 1:19:01Speaker 6: You know, we're talking. We're talking about show great community event,
- 1:19:06Speaker 6: kids had a great.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Time, and I'm trying to bring it back to football.
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: I think I think we should change his nickname from
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: Deuce to Doom.
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: This is the media member at community day where everyone's like,
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: how great does it feel to be out here with
- 1:19:19Speaker 8: the kids, And he's just like, so Booty's not here,
- 1:19:22Speaker 8: But Booty doesn't like the kids.
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: You know, it's a tougher schedule. You're not going to be.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: All right. We were talking about Buffalo bill fans and
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: all that stuff. Jeff in Canada rights in the Bills
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: franchise is largely supported by what's known in Canada as
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: the g T, a Greater Toronto area.
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: That's a good point, not the video game.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: Millions of people and tons of corporate money. They love
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: to choose for loser franchises like the Leafs. Otherwise, Fred
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: is right, Buffalo alone can't support an NFL team with
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: seventy thousand seats. I think it will stay routy though.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Look at Seattle, all tech money still crazy.
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: Good point. Good point. So those tech bros get loud.
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Did the Sabers play The Sabers play the Canadian national anthem?
- 1:20:09Speaker 6: Yeah, so the Bills. No, But the Sabers play the
- 1:20:12Speaker 6: Canadian national anthem because they claim that people come over
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: the border from Toronto to watch Sabers games a cap
- 1:20:19Speaker 6: like you're telling me those people aren't Leafs fans like there,
- 1:20:24Speaker 6: so maybe they're just coming just for the hockey, but
- 1:20:26Speaker 6: they're not coming.
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: I think the Bills need to do it too. I
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: mean that I don't know from the GTA, like knowing.
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: How crazy Toronto people are for the Leafs. I just
- 1:20:39Speaker 6: can't imagine that you're from Toronto and you're a Sabers
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: fan that just does.
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: It's in Toronto. Maybe they're just trying to.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: Well, it's not like the Sabers history is much better.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: They can't get enough hockey.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: Jeff also says, I agree with Deuce. The Broncos game
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: that late is odd. What if both teams have clinched
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: and we're watching Stidham versus de Vito. Do you ever think,
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: with the help of AI the NFL could figure out
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: a way to make games flexible to a completely different
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: week of the schedule.
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: I put nothing past.
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: Them, Okay, I wanted that too, some like crazy ass
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: like you know, just day like they're Tuesday, and then
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: they're very like.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: I'm going to play the role of would you call
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: them doom yeah, doom boom doomsday? Dude. I thought when
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: you brought that up about being surprised that the Denver
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: game was so late, you were sort of alluding to
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: I would have thought they would have had those two
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: teams which were kind of surprised teams last year. Are
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: we banking on them being really good again, or are
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: we gonna sort of, you know, couch it and put
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: it in the middle of the season. So that's interesting,
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: I mean, where I thought you were getting at.
- 1:21:45Speaker 7: Now, I didn't thought about that. I mean, I I
- 1:21:47Speaker 7: just I've gotten used to the last two games usually
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: being divisional games, and you know, I know that's not
- 1:21:51Speaker 7: always the case. But it just felt to me like
- 1:21:54Speaker 7: this is kind of a random, weird one right there.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I mean, I mean it may be. I mean it
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: also could.
- 1:21:58Speaker 6: Be the same way it actually when it's rematches of
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: like big playoff games. I feel like that's usually early
- 1:22:03Speaker 6: in the season.
- 1:22:04Speaker 10: I would agree his injury timeline.
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: Well, so he had like a cleanup procedure recently that
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: they're obviously claiming was Oh, it's just part of the whole.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: Thing success that they put that out.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Well, it wasn't anything to.
- 1:22:18Speaker 6: Be alarmed about that he needed a second cleanup procedure.
- 1:22:22Speaker 6: Nothing to worry about. And I'm not like making fun
- 1:22:24Speaker 6: of the Broncos like this is how they everybody, Oh, like,
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: don't worry, it's not not serious. But it sounds like
- 1:22:31Speaker 6: he's going to be fine, but tickets, he's not. He's
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: not fine yet.
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: I would just say, I agree with you guys, like
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: the division games usually the last two, I don't have
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: any sort of I wouldn't say I wouldn't have put
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: that game late because I think they're both going to
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: have clinched with you know, two games to go. I
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: don't know what they you know, i'd be surprised if
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: they've clinched something with two games to go.
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: Yeah, that doesn't happen very often, But I.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: Am you know, I think that was part of the
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: rationale with the Patriots in Seattle, And I'm allowed to
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: say this, Fred gave me permission super Bowl rematch in
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: Week one. I think, at least in part, the mindset was, yeah,
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: they both went to the super Bowl last year, but
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: let's make sure we get a bang for this with
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: the super Bowl rematch, as opposed to if I played
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: in a Week ten. You know, maybe one or both
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: of the teams is it five hundred or worse, and
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: maybe I don't get as much of a buzz out
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: of it. I think that was at least part. I
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: think that Mike Reese had a quote from a guy
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: kind of indicated that right in his Sunday.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Note fresh Hans Hans Schroeder.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: You know what's we don't always.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: Made?
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 1:23:48Speaker 7: Fred, you mad an interesting point, though, Paul, I thought,
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: with this Seattle game and in the in the mail
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: bag last week or the middle letterletter mail letter, but
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: that you've seen teams play flat, raise a banner and
- 1:24:00Speaker 7: condat and play.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: A lot of a funny game to play. Yeah, the
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: record is what it is that the home team has
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: a great.
- 1:24:06Speaker 7: Record in that yeah, seventeen game I remember with Kansas
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: City where.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: Yeah, but I do think that they won in nineteen
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: though it's a funny, emotional game sometimes.
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: Yeah, they beat Pittsburgh in nineteen right, it was Pittsburgh.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, they thrashed them.
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: But then and then they were getting in. They were
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: getting Antonio Brown too.
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:24:23Speaker 19: Right.
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: And I was at the Celtics opener in twenty five
- 1:24:28Speaker 6: after they hung their banner for twenty four and they throttled.
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: I think it was the Knicks. I think they won
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: by like thirty Yeah, you know, so, I think it
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: could go either way.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: Evan doesn't like it when he's given free T shirts
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: when he goes to a game. Ellen Wisconsin says, I
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: don't always agree with Evan, but in this aspect, he
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: has never been more wrong. Please continue to give us
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: free T shirts.
- 1:24:47Speaker 6: Okay, so you're missing the let me just be very
- 1:24:50Speaker 6: crystal clear. You're you're missing. You're missing where the angst is.
- 1:24:54Speaker 6: It's not about the free element of it. It's like
- 1:24:58Speaker 6: it's this is a like the expectation that you're going
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: to wear. This is like a gimmicky, small market thing
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: that we don't need. He feels like we're above that
- 1:25:05Speaker 6: one hundred percent. We're not one hundred percent. Thank you
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: for your go go do your gimmicky T shirt.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: However, Anthony also says free T shirts rock Evan, why
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: not keep the shirt? It's not about keeping the shirt,
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: he just doesn't want to put it on.
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: Oh yeah, hundred percent the yeah. No, it's not about
- 1:25:22Speaker 6: the freeness of the shirt or keeping the shirt. It's
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: about like, oh, like this section is going to be
- 1:25:28Speaker 6: in blue and that section is going to be in
- 1:25:30Speaker 6: white and this section is going to be in red
- 1:25:32Speaker 6: or what.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: You don't have any desire for that, like now o
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: case he did last night. Now keep that done?
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: Whatsoever?
- 1:25:39Speaker 6: You keep that for your small market teams along those lines,
- 1:25:42Speaker 6: and he.
- 1:25:43Speaker 10: Loves the question for you.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: Paul and I just got them like we were in
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: the stands for the Super Bowl?
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: Did you struggle trying to figure out what side of
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: that thing we're supposed to hold up? Pregame like they
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: were like I was thinking, like everyone around us was like,
- 1:25:55Speaker 7: what side am I hold?
- 1:25:56Speaker 25: Like?
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: It was so confused.
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: Thought I thought there was instructions.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: I didn't like it.
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know what I think.
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: Alex and I had no problems navigating that situation.
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: We had a lot of Margarita's that day.
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: You know, holding up.
- 1:26:15Speaker 10: A fraction of Maddie Drake one of us.
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: I don't think one of.
- 1:26:21Speaker 6: The difference in that day for Fred and I versus
- 1:26:25Speaker 6: you guys.
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: I've said many times to Fred twenty eight years. This
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: time that was the best thing you've ever done for
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: that was fantastic.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: Justin Brooklyn writes in about a YouTube observation on the show.
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: Though I typically listened on Spotify, PU is now part
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: of my YouTube algorithm and suggested video section, and I
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: noticed something funny. The image that accompanies a recorded episode
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: is the still frame of someone from the episode. It's
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: always a picture of Alex if she's on the show.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: If not, then it's typically Deuce on Tuesday and other
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: occasional episodes. I'll get served, Paul Fred and Evan not
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: so much. I'll get served Paul Fred and Evan not
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: so much. Anyway, Well, I mean, look at me, Why
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: would you want to put me out? I was going
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: to say, we're leaving a dumb nail. I mean, the
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: West Side Show is much better looking than the right time.
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: Just we're just saying, like when Alex is on the
- 1:27:21Speaker 6: show and they put Alex, yeah, we know, yeah.
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: Right, We're trying to get people to watch.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: Anyway of us are responsible for that.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: No you, but thank you to whoever is thank you anyway.
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: For a football question, A J.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: Brown is preferable to now you are turning, but Digs
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: won't require a draft pick?
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: What pick level is too expensive for Brown? Where you'd
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: rather sign Diggs.
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: I'm not giving up I don't think Diggs has coming.
- 1:27:49Speaker 6: I'm not giving up my first round pick in twenty
- 1:27:50Speaker 6: twenty seven, twenty eight.
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: I'm fine with this, which is what everybody seems to
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: be reporting.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Really, I'm not.
- 1:27:57Speaker 6: I'm not touching the twenty twenty seven draft. It's too
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: good of a draft. I'm not giving up the first
- 1:28:01Speaker 6: round pick twenty twenty eight. Like then you're like stinking,
- 1:28:04Speaker 6: Like I just I can't imagine they're gonna stink two
- 1:28:07Speaker 6: years in a row like that, Like if they have
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: a backslide next year, like maybe it's injury, play season
- 1:28:13Speaker 6: something like that, that's not gonna happen two years in
- 1:28:15Speaker 6: a row, you would imagine. So I feel pretty good
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: about them being a good team in twenty twenty eight.
- 1:28:21Speaker 6: I just I think the next year's draft is gonna
- 1:28:23Speaker 6: be a historically good draft, And I don't want to touch.
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: It, Dylan, and Nashville says.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: With the new stadium in Nashville funded by one point
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: twenty six billion of about two billion in public funding,
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: many of my friends who have season tickets in the
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: old stadium have been priced out. They hike PSLs and
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: ticket prices significantly, all with the awful on field product
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: that they are producing. They're turning into a Vegas like
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: stadium where opponents will have fifty plus percent of the
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: fans at the game.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's accurate because that's a good road
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: trip and they have the super Bowl.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: Right. Yes, I'm interested to see how that is going
- 1:29:06Speaker 6: to work because it is a great road city and
- 1:29:09Speaker 6: it's a great trip. But everything kind of happens in
- 1:29:12Speaker 6: the same like two or three block radius in a
- 1:29:14Speaker 6: city like that, Like it's not a very expansive city.
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: So well, when you're hosting a super Bowl, you need
- 1:29:21Speaker 6: the infrastructure to.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: Have ever been in New Orleans. That's not much bigger, I.
- 1:29:26Speaker 6: Would say, But New Orleans has had the Super Bowl
- 1:29:28Speaker 6: time and time again, like they probably have it kind
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: of down.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: To Nashville doesn't have huge conventions. I mean, they're they're
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: set up for big conventions.
- 1:29:36Speaker 8: I wonder if how so much space to build Still
- 1:29:39Speaker 8: we're building more.
- 1:29:40Speaker 6: Yeah, Broadway is going to be good luck even getting
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: around Radio Road on.
- 1:29:46Speaker 8: New Orleans and the French Quarter is definitely sizely different
- 1:29:49Speaker 8: than Broadway.
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: Have you ever tried to go down Bourbon Street on
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: a Friday night before the Super Bowl?
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: So New Orleans.
- 1:29:56Speaker 10: San Francisco was plenty expansive.
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: I just want I.
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: Think Nashville will be perfect Super Bowl.
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: I don't know enough about Nashville, but I do my
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: mind's eye tells me it's more similar to New Orleans,
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: and I think New Orleans is absolutely yea the best venue.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: We know Broadway, But there is other parts of the city.
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: You know, it's still kind of walking distance, but maybe
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: like a half mile away where there's still restaurants and
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: stores and stuff. So it's a little bigger than you
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: think because we only see.
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: That part of it.
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: Okay, I'll take a word for it. I'm just like everything.
- 1:30:30Speaker 6: A couple of times that we've been down there. Uh,
- 1:30:33Speaker 6: it's an awesome time, like I would highly recommend, but
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: also like it's busy even on a regular Friday or
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: Saturday night. Oh, let alone, Now the Super Bowl is here.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: It's going to put on the bachelor party weekend, bachelorette.
- 1:30:46Speaker 6: Party, bachelorette Oh my god, all over the.
- 1:30:49Speaker 8: Imagine you happened to plan about charette not even knowing,
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: like the Super Bowl week and.
- 1:30:54Speaker 6: I could see that happening.
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: I just wonder.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: I was just, you know, in La, the Olympics are coming.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: I don't know how they're doing the Olympics.
- 1:31:00Speaker 7: I mean that city has already crammed to the gills
- 1:31:02Speaker 7: with cars and people, and.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: You're now the whole Olympics to set upon there. It's
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: going to be a nightmare.
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: Yep. Jordan writes in subject line, how is Buffalo better?
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: Exclamation question, excellment blah blah blah. We've been discussing Buffalo
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: this year compared to last year.
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: I do not fat Buffalo's worse, not better.
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: I do not know how anyone could look at Buffalo
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: and not see regression. This year, McDermott got the absolute
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: most from a defense that did not have a lot
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: of talent. How does Joe Brady improve the team by
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: moving from OC to head coach? In my opinion, his
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: skills are diluted by having him over both sides of
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: the ball. I foresee regression from Buffalo. Josh Allen covers
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: a lot of glaring holes in that roster. But I
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: think they're asking way too much.
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: Okay, so I would just I'm gonna play Devil's advocate.
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: I don't know how it's going to work out because
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: these are all unknown things. But like, how did Ben
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: Johnson do? Is the offensive coordinator turn head coach of
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: the Bears? Pretty good? Was he better than the guy
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: that he replaced? Excellent? Yeah? Yeah? So what if Joe
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: Brady is better than the guy he's replacing?
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: Right, And Jim Leonard is better than Sean McDermott at
- 1:32:09Speaker 6: running a defense?
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: And again, just Devil's advocate, I have no idea these
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: guys are. Joe Brady's never been a head coach. Neither
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: was Ben Johnson. He was arguably the best coach in
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: football last year. I mean, you could certainly put him
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: in the top five for coach of the year, Right,
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: what if Joe Brady's better than Sean McDermott, Like, you
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: can't just assume he's worse.
- 1:32:32Speaker 7: I just I'm trying to divide my wishful thinking between
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: like what my eyes see and like I see what
- 1:32:36Speaker 7: everybody kind of sees. And it's the same thing with Mahomes.
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: We talk about Brady fell off without Gronk, without Edelman.
- 1:32:42Speaker 7: You could see that that offense was falling apart, and
- 1:32:43Speaker 7: you know, are they doing enough? Are they putting enough
- 1:32:45Speaker 7: around those guys to make it easy? And you know,
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: one thing I would say to Ben Johnson is that,
- 1:32:51Speaker 7: you know, he was such the wonder kid of offense
- 1:32:54Speaker 7: and you know, incorporating everybody, and you know, had a
- 1:32:56Speaker 7: personality like I don't know if that's Joe Brady or not,
- 1:32:58Speaker 7: you know, and again like I don't know what it's
- 1:33:00Speaker 7: going to be, but to me, it sounding like he
- 1:33:02Speaker 7: was the guy that was the Josh Allen whisper and
- 1:33:05Speaker 7: that kind of got him the job. Was he like
- 1:33:07Speaker 7: this great offensive coordinator that you know, you feel like, oh,
- 1:33:09Speaker 7: he's going to take the offense in new directions. To me,
- 1:33:12Speaker 7: the sign points to it's them and Josh keep making
- 1:33:14Speaker 7: the magic happen, Like keep doing it.
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: I think it's just they're putting a lot on their quarterbacks.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: I think there's no doubt that I think the roster
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: around Josh Allen is not as good as has been
- 1:33:25Speaker 6: in the past.
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: No, but I thought that last year.
- 1:33:28Speaker 6: Yeah, And they thought they were a worse team last year.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: No, No, and I would agree. And I think that
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: on paper they're better than they were last year. In
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: that regard, Now that doesn't matter because paper doesn't win games. Yeah,
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: it only matters how they play.
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, besides DJ Moore, I don't know what
- 1:33:42Speaker 6: else they did that really it moves the needle. But
- 1:33:46Speaker 6: I hear what people are saying in terms of if
- 1:33:49Speaker 6: you look at the totality of it, as if.
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: People are listening two veteran names that are no longer
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: in the team and they're thinking they're worse. And I
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: think it's very similar to what Rabel did here. He
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: got rid of guys that he knew weren't going to
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: be better than they had been. Matt Mulano as an example,
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: who was a terrific player for them for a lot
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: of years. He's not getting better. They let him go.
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: And I think that Evan's point about Jim Leonard is
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: a valid one. I don't know how he's going to
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: be running that defense. Maybe he's better. Maybe the guys
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: that they replaced all those veterans with, like the Patriots
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: did last year with Carlton Davis and Harold Landry and
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: calevon Chase are better than the guys they're replacing. That's
- 1:34:30Speaker 4: how the Patriots got better. They replaced a bunch of
- 1:34:33Speaker 4: veterans with guys who played better than those veterans had played.
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: I just Rubberts blains better than Jawan Bentley. I don't
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: know what the Bills like. I don't know enough about
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: the ins and outs of Jim Leonard to know what
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: his scheme is going to be. But maybe they're more
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: suited to Jim Leonard than Sean MCIs.
- 1:34:49Speaker 25: Well.
- 1:34:49Speaker 6: They're changing their entire system. Like they were an even front,
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: four down defense, nickel defense a lot of the time.
- 1:34:56Speaker 6: Now they're going to be a three to four So
- 1:34:58Speaker 6: they're changing their entire structure of their defense, and maybe
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: they they're better suited for that.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: I mean, maybe they can stuck the run.
- 1:35:04Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe they can stop the run, right, I mean,
- 1:35:06Speaker 6: but you know, I think ultimately for me, it's just
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: when you have Josh Allen, like, I don't think you're
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: going to totally stink, Like, you know, people are kind
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: of hoping that the wheels really come off, and it's
- 1:35:17Speaker 6: like well, what does that even look like when you
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: have a top five quarterback in the NFL? Like the
- 1:35:21Speaker 6: wheels coming off for them is like in a twelve
- 1:35:24Speaker 6: wins the wheels came off last Yeah, and they won
- 1:35:27Speaker 6: twelve games.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: This is what I'm trying to say, Like, right, they're
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: not anywhere nearest talented as they have been Buffalo. I
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: see the same personnel stuff that the fans are talking about,
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: and they still won twelve games.
- 1:35:39Speaker 7: And the game that happened here in December where they
- 1:35:41Speaker 7: were in a hole right out of the gate. You
- 1:35:43Speaker 7: thought the Patriots were about to win the division, and
- 1:35:45Speaker 7: then what happens. Josh Allen starts doing Josh Allen things
- 1:35:48Speaker 7: even with that team, and they still couldn't stop them.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: Let's see Gerald from Grimsby Rights in about the GTA
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: the Greater Toronto Area. I just want to find tune
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: what Jeff said, Buffalo, the Bills and the Sabers are
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: not so much supported by the g t A as
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: they are by Hamilton in the Niagara region, which combined
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: for one point one million people. For the Niagara Region,
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: Buffalo is actually closer Hamilton. You don't have to deal
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: with the nightmare of Toronto traffic deuced. The Buffalo Bills
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: do play OH Canada at their home games?
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: I have never heard. No, I have never heard.
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: So then I do we have to discount everything else
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: in his email because he got that wrong.
- 1:36:30Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know, maybe we missed it, Fred,
- 1:36:32Speaker 6: but we've been at.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: The last four.
- 1:36:33Speaker 5: There is one game that's like their Canada game. Yeah,
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: so maybe in that game they do.
- 1:36:38Speaker 6: Maybe that's the game I have never heard of Canada
- 1:36:41Speaker 6: and the Patriots, but Bills game in Buffalo love is.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: They do not play O Canada.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I love O Canada.
- 1:36:47Speaker 6: So if they played it, I'd be like I'd clocked
- 1:36:49Speaker 6: that in a second. Great the Bruins play Canadians.
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:36:58Speaker 8: The Bruins anthem followers or the singer recently followed me
- 1:37:02Speaker 8: and Todd Angel. Yeah, and that was when I was like, wow,
- 1:37:05Speaker 8: like this is a cool Instagram follow you know, you
- 1:37:08Speaker 8: know we.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: Love waiter upstairs?
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: Is that right? Yeah? I never heard that before.
- 1:37:12Speaker 7: He's a bartender and he runs down and he's got
- 1:37:15Speaker 7: to put his time back.
- 1:37:16Speaker 10: He shakes up some Martinez, runs back down.
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: He's great time.
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: He has him like he's a character with personality like
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: when they got you know, Ridcurd legend huge.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: But I think Todd Angel.
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: Cameron writes in about the T shirts tell Boston Celtics
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: to put tissues in the back of Evan's chair at games.
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: With the amount of crying he does.
- 1:37:36Speaker 8: The Celtics should just go one Bro shirt every single
- 1:37:41Speaker 8: Now I'm ending this episode to your ticket rep.
- 1:37:44Speaker 10: What I'm sending this episode to your ticket I.
- 1:37:47Speaker 6: Just like I don't need the gimmicks like this is
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: the Boston Celtics were seventeen championships, real sports like Bill Russell,
- 1:37:55Speaker 6: Larry Bird, Like do you think that those like there
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: came into the old Boston Garden in the eighties, the
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: Celtics plaining the Lakers and Bird versus Magic and put
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: your T shirt on like no, like, no, no one
- 1:38:06Speaker 6: was doing that.
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: It doesn't seem a little bit new fangle that type
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: of thing, like you know.
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: New York Giants.
- 1:38:12Speaker 10: It's a Celtic.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: We don't do.
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: That, we don't.
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: I know what Evan's point is, they don't do it
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: at MSG were above. There's a reason I know.
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: I get.
- 1:38:22Speaker 8: Sponsorship for you know, a company gets to custom ach
- 1:38:26Speaker 8: or whoever does it gets to slap their logo on
- 1:38:28Speaker 8: these T shirts that.
- 1:38:29Speaker 10: Are all over.
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: I've heard a lot of people like a lot of
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: people are like a little jealous of other teams in
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: the NFL where they have things that they do and
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: the whole everybody takes part and they all participate tradition.
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: And I've heard people say.
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: Oh, there's no point in doing it here because we
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: just don't do that notion.
- 1:38:52Speaker 5: To do something, the less we're going to do it.
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: That's what I don't. I could not agree more. I
- 1:39:00Speaker 6: think the only thing that's stuck that I actually that
- 1:39:04Speaker 6: I actually really like is the band fanner the fan
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: banner captain at the Bruins playoff games and they usually
- 1:39:10Speaker 6: bring out alumni of some sort and that's a really
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: cool ritual that I don't know when that started, but
- 1:39:18Speaker 6: that one actually stuck and like feels organic, like no offense.
- 1:39:22Speaker 6: But the bell does not.
- 1:39:23Speaker 4: It doesn't feel organic, and it's really really hard.
- 1:39:30Speaker 8: The organic thing is also with the banner captain is
- 1:39:32Speaker 8: the jokes on Twitter about like who should like when
- 1:39:35Speaker 8: Karen Reid like Karen, Yeah, that's funny jokes.
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I think the couple that got caught on the camera.
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: The banner Captain's cool.
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: Paul, you might know the answer to this. When did
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: Sweet Caroline start?
- 1:39:53Speaker 21: Like?
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: When did that become organic?
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: So you know, funny story. It all comes back to
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: Patriots Unfiltered slash p of your progress to our original producer,
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: a guy named Gary Grideki used to work sort of
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: in that field for Ed Fenway. He would he did
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: like in Stadium enterang. He played Sweet Caroline one night
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: and the crowd went crazy, so they kept doing it again.
- 1:40:22Speaker 4: It happened organically. Now ironically it's become sort of the
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: bane of a lot of.
- 1:40:27Speaker 10: Stories about that going on.
- 1:40:28Speaker 6: Well, it's just different into Bob and the Red Sox
- 1:40:33Speaker 6: are down eight to one.
- 1:40:34Speaker 4: But yeah, I will say that the story that I
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: heard from one Gary, he's taking credit. Maybe he's taking
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: credit for something he doesn't deserve to have credit for.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: But I don't, I mean I never, he never really
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: struck me as that kind of guy.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: He doesn't.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: It's a lady named Amy Toby that did it.
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: Amy Toby.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: That's Amy Toby of I know her.
- 1:40:57Speaker 10: That's Sharon TV's Amy Toby.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: What really?
- 1:41:00Speaker 22: So?
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: What? What?
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: What that's that's in the reddit threads?
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: What are you reading?
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: What?
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: What does it say.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: In nineteen ninety seven, Amy Toby, an employee in charge
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: of the ballpark music at Fenway Park, played Sweet Caroline
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: during Boston Red Sox game.
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: Because and then I'm not reading the right Amy Toby.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: I will ask Amy Toby. I talked to her all
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: the time.
- 1:41:16Speaker 4: Okay, but that's just read in relation to George Tobya.
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: I don't believe just Toby t o b e y.
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: I have to agree with Alex. That is just Reddit.
- 1:41:23Speaker 7: So yeah, well no, hey, I at least to know
- 1:41:26Speaker 7: that somebody's very.
- 1:41:28Speaker 10: Could have been Okay, this is the story I heard.
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: Both of those things are true.
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: Amy Toby is credited on History Channel dot com.
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:41:35Speaker 8: The story I heard is that it was to honor
- 1:41:37Speaker 8: a woman named Caroline, who like worked at Fenway as
- 1:41:41Speaker 8: like the the dot yep okay, the daughter of longtime
- 1:41:45Speaker 8: Fenway Park scoreboard operator. And then like when she was born,
- 1:41:49Speaker 8: they played Sweet Caroline because the baby was named Caroline.
- 1:41:52Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, it doesn't bother me as much as fathers
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: other people, A lot of people.
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: It doesn't because it's not for me. And I've always
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: thought that, like if if a bunch of people want
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: to go and get really excited about that. I don't
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: know why that bothers you so much. Like Dan shaughn,
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: I like it, Like what what's I think it's just
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: a big deal.
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: I think it just matters how the game is, how
- 1:42:12Speaker 6: it's going, you know, like to do it when they're
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: losing like big, like they're getting blown out at all.
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: I maybe not the time inspired came to that.
- 1:42:22Speaker 8: Yeah, that's true, Like Fenway really is. It's a destination ballpark,
- 1:42:25Speaker 8: you know, right, non red talks.
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: Unfortunately, that's why.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: We can't get unfortunate about it, and we.
- 1:42:31Speaker 6: Can't get anybody can actually do anything to make the
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: team better because they it's a museum and they just
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: get people.
- 1:42:37Speaker 5: I don't know about that.
- 1:42:38Speaker 4: Oh that's make a handover fist and there's no.
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: Getut to in certain games.
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but no, I'm I'm saying, like that wild Card
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: game in twenty twenty one.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: Yeah, six years ago.
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: They can they get a gate no matter what because
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: it's Fenway Park and people want to come see Fendway Park.
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: And like we've been to games recently where like the
- 1:43:00Speaker 6: out of town fans are just as many as Red
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: Sox fans are there.
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: Wait, till the summer comes.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: It's a it's a I'd rather have that than empty
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: stadiums that I see on TV when the Red.
- 1:43:11Speaker 10: College Girls have done a really.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: Good because because the the ownership is still getting their
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: gate so there's no reason to actually put a good
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: team on the field.
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: Because well, if you look at it that way, and
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: so making sure that John Henry still makes his money, if.
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: You look at it that way, I understand. But you know,
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: I like seeing full ballparks.
- 1:43:34Speaker 6: Oh yeah, what you like to see Red Sox Yankees
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: And there's as many Yankees fans at Fenway Park and
- 1:43:38Speaker 6: they're selling Yankees things and not as many.
- 1:43:40Speaker 5: There's a lot, there's always been.
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: There's there were a ton of Yankees fans for that
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: series that the Yankees swept them.
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: Yeah, this has always been a lot of Red Sox
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: at Yankee Stadium and a lot of Yankee fans at
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: Fenway always not nothing new, nothing.
- 1:43:54Speaker 4: There was more Yankee fans than Red Sox fans in
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: that series Dodgers Cardinals.
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: Maybe they were just hearing louder because they had more
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: to cheer about Cubs.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: But we would like to have more to cheer about,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: you ide. But you know, we would like to have
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: more to cheer about two. That's the point.
- 1:44:10Speaker 6: We would like to have players like we'd like to
- 1:44:13Speaker 6: have Aaron Judge also, but we don't because, like I,
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: we just wanted Pete Alnzo.
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: And we even go to change it is the bottom line,
- 1:44:21Speaker 4: and the bottom line remains virtually unchanged because the museum
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: is largely.
- 1:44:26Speaker 6: That's why I went on strike and didn't renew.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: My museum is just.
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: Greg Breslay, got your back, keep working at it. We'll
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: get it right. Just keep working at it.
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: Got your Fred, don't worry.
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: Imagine putting your stock in that guy.
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: Fords and Savannah. I have a little game, choose your
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: top three quarterbacks to go into a season with if
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: your life depends on winning at all, and they will
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: be placed on a random team with a random head coach.
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: I would go Patrick Mahomes because he's done it before,
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: Josh Allen he has been one of the two best
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: quarterbacks in the past five years, and Drake may ascending.
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: Let's go, so those are his top three.
- 1:45:08Speaker 4: That's a tough one because we've never done it, so
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: I don't know if I feel great.
- 1:45:12Speaker 6: So we're just kind of ranking the best quarterbacks that
- 1:45:14Speaker 6: we're doing well, guys, you know we're gonna get it
- 1:45:17Speaker 6: done for you.
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:45:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know if i'd put Mahomes at number
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: one anymore really, But would.
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: You put a number one Josh.
- 1:45:26Speaker 6: Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford's healthy Joe Burrow.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: Healthy Joe Burrow.
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: Healthy Joe Burrow should get some attention.
- 1:45:34Speaker 6: I mean I do too.
- 1:45:34Speaker 10: It's just been so long for healthy Joe Burrow.
- 1:45:37Speaker 6: It's hard to like it's been a couple of years
- 1:45:40Speaker 6: since Mahomes has been Yeah, okah, but.
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: He was just in the Super Bowl. Like even when
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: he's not a leader, he's good enough to get his
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: team to.
- 1:45:46Speaker 10: The Super he has the freak element.
- 1:45:49Speaker 4: And I agree with you, he hasn't been for a
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: couple of years.
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: I would. I would, even though Josh Allen hasn't gotten
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: there yet. I would. I Just him and Mahomes to
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: me are the ones that God.
- 1:45:58Speaker 4: Probably would be my three. But like Lamar Jackson again,
- 1:46:03Speaker 4: like Josh Allen hasn't really been able to get if
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: I had to like have everything that, you know, weighing
- 1:46:10Speaker 4: on winning at all, he's still done it and he's
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: had more opportunities, he still picked Brady.
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: That'd be funny, Tyler and Ludlow. With PFW in Progress
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: having the title of the world's original podcast, what are
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: the chances we get in a original story documentary? Podcasting
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: is huge and there is definitely a market for an
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: HBO documentary. How Fred and the team were ahead of
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: the game. I could see it do so. Production flashing
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: in the opening credits, video, footage of Fred in the
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: early years, and even interviews with longtime listeners all part
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: of it. RKK, please make it happen.
- 1:46:45Speaker 10: I've said this for a long time.
- 1:46:47Speaker 8: Fred Kirsh do your job would be awesome, but it
- 1:46:51Speaker 8: couldn't be a normal do your job like It couldn't
- 1:46:53Speaker 8: be your simple like a couple minutes long like.
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: Star the invoices, No we need like I want you
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: talking with Jonathan Kraft being like, hey, we should have
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: a website for the team.
- 1:47:07Speaker 10: That's the stuff I want.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: We don't have that video we can.
- 1:47:13Speaker 12: And we can get dramas going to play Fred.
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: I would play young Fred in the FX.
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: You want to play you? Timothy Shall, shall you look
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: like back in the day?
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: Who plays me?
- 1:47:31Speaker 10: Who plays you?
- 1:47:33Speaker 8: Here's here's our newsletter talking right now, this is going
- 1:47:38Speaker 8: to be our newsletter.
- 1:47:39Speaker 7: I need I need like a Fred Tree, you know,
- 1:47:41Speaker 7: where's like top and can you see pick?
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: You know young friend plays Brian Morey just ranting about something.
- 1:47:51Speaker 8: I want a contact or even Yeah, James Pettis were
- 1:47:57Speaker 8: the most indssing.
- 1:48:00Speaker 7: We're shooting for the stars, Jessica.
- 1:48:08Speaker 8: I couldn't think of an average looking woman in Hollywood.
- 1:48:11Speaker 6: I'm sorry, stop just like two.
- 1:48:14Speaker 10: Of the top ten, they're my top ten.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: So yeah, Rick Schrotter is probably available to do me, like,
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: you know, like.
- 1:48:22Speaker 6: I'd have to be a pretty nerdy person. Yeah, I
- 1:48:25Speaker 6: don't know. I can't think of a.
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: Jonah what about it? Jonah Hill? Like you know, I mean,
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: I didn't know if I was funny.
- 1:48:31Speaker 6: I don't know if I was enough. Yeah, I don't
- 1:48:35Speaker 6: know if I'm I'm not the communicant Jonah Hill.
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: It's not playing well.
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: He didn't move on money I was just about the analytic.
- 1:48:45Speaker 6: He played deep a Deska and Moneyball.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: So no, you know who's the guy that start in
- 1:48:51Speaker 3: the movie about Facebook.
- 1:48:53Speaker 7: Oh yeah, that's good as you get angry of it.
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: Good he would be you know, Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:49:03Speaker 4: Imagine they go when they give me a.
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: T shirt, let's put her T shirts and everybody.
- 1:49:09Speaker 10: Yeah that was a great movie.
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: And he's dead now it's too bad. But who played
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: Lenny Briscoe? That would be Paul Jerry or Jerry orb
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: that's Paul.
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: Det convenient dad.
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: Right, Jerry o'brock and he was he's the father.
- 1:49:28Speaker 4: Who are your father?
- 1:49:31Speaker 5: We can't use it?
- 1:49:32Speaker 6: So is Patrick Swage use a I Jerry or back?
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: Why what makes you think? I'm not offended by that?
- 1:49:38Speaker 4: But what he just cause you.
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: Get the same kind of good language is a good character.
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: I thought you were gonna say Marlon Brando or something
- 1:49:45Speaker 6: like that.
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: I was thinking of somebody.
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: Like I really old al Pacino.
- 1:49:50Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got Timmy Shall, James Michael young friend.
- 1:49:59Speaker 5: I don't know what.
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: Let's see, James Pettigrew says, Remember Stevie h and Mike
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: and Mikey Vandalism's premium m P three's.
- 1:50:10Speaker 5: Remember those.
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: Perhaps we can throw back to those days. I remember
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: when Fred first asked for them. We were breaking new
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: ground at the time. We were like the star Trek
- 1:50:20Speaker 3: of podcasts. He's talking about m P threes.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: Remember that Pirate of many of the iods are coming back.
- 1:50:26Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I still have one.
- 1:50:29Speaker 10: I would kill for mine to not be broken.
- 1:50:33Speaker 6: No, socks still has one, mind so that I never
- 1:50:37Speaker 6: use it.
- 1:50:37Speaker 10: I had like eight thousand charged up.
- 1:50:43Speaker 8: I still find some hotel that still has the old
- 1:50:46Speaker 8: I homes every hotel.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: Every time.
- 1:50:51Speaker 10: The new iPod was crap at the time.
- 1:50:53Speaker 6: Scam.
- 1:50:54Speaker 8: Yeah, they were scam and again you have to buy
- 1:50:57Speaker 8: a new one every time.
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: It was like, look like your iPhones, like your headphone's case,
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: but it actually could play. Maybe it's Apple music, but
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: it was you know what I mean.
- 1:51:07Speaker 7: It was into the Yeah, it was incorporated into the
- 1:51:10Speaker 7: I don't know if this if I saw something from
- 1:51:12Speaker 7: the future.
- 1:51:12Speaker 3: Remember when Microsoft tried to come out with a competitor
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: to the.
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: iPod, Yeah, the Zoom.
- 1:51:18Speaker 10: None of them worked.
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: Yeah, so now it's all the.
- 1:51:21Speaker 10: Sun stuff my iPod. N I have so many songs on.
- 1:51:26Speaker 6: That silver iPod original like the like Block one yeah,
- 1:51:31Speaker 6: yeah that.
- 1:51:32Speaker 10: Was original video one.
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I had that one.
- 1:51:35Speaker 8: Third gen the third gen video is the one that
- 1:51:37Speaker 8: was super mainstream and I could not believe.
- 1:51:40Speaker 10: I like, it wasn't even on my radar. And it's
- 1:51:42Speaker 10: what I got.
- 1:51:42Speaker 8: For Christmas from my mom like, and I was like,
- 1:51:44Speaker 8: I didn't know we were falling like this, Mom, like,
- 1:51:46Speaker 8: this is a great gift.
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually think that's the one I have is.
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: The video one. I don't have a video one.
- 1:51:51Speaker 7: Yeah, did you run on and get an iPod like
- 1:51:53Speaker 7: an iPhone? As soon as they came out? I had
- 1:51:56Speaker 7: to finish here the program.
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: The first one was cool.
- 1:52:00Speaker 3: It was made out of plastic, but the back of
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: it was curved really because it was supposed to fit
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: into your hands.
- 1:52:06Speaker 10: What did you have before that? Like, were you a
- 1:52:07Speaker 10: BlackBerry guy sidekick?
- 1:52:08Speaker 15: No?
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: I never had a BlackBerry. I had really didn't have
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: a BlackBerry from No, we had Next Tells, remember that, But.
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: We had I had, for a very short period of time,
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: a BlackBerry.
- 1:52:18Speaker 8: My mom had a BlackBerry and it was Next tell too.
- 1:52:20Speaker 8: It was like a collab, so it had and Yeah.
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: I never had the Next Tail here. I do remember
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: when you guys had those.
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: My first my first cell phone was a little phone.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: I got it while we were still having camp at
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: Bryant College. I know that, and I ended up giving
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: it to Mike Reese yea his first cell phone. I
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: didn't need it anymore. So I just gave it to him.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and now you're getting this.
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: We got from probably mid two thousand, you know, in
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: the midats we got a BlackBerry, and then like literally
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: six months later, we got our first iPhone.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:52:56Speaker 7: I still missed the BlackBerry, and I missed the brick
- 1:52:58Speaker 7: breaker two and the buttons.
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: Yeah, it was okay. The BlackBerry I didn't have, you know,
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: and I don't know in.
- 1:53:06Speaker 7: California, I was married to my BlackBerry.
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: But it was fine.
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: There were BlackBerry users who swore, I'm never going to
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: give this up. I don't care about it didn't take long.
- 1:53:17Speaker 7: That was my mom My boss was kicking and screaming
- 1:53:19Speaker 7: down to the end of the BlackBerry. And I would
- 1:53:21Speaker 7: get emails at like nine o'clock on a Saturday night, like, hey,
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: my BlackBerry's not working, can you fix it real quick?
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: You know, like that kind of and I'd have to
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: like go down a rabbit hole of like reinstalling and
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: all that crap.
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: That was what they make them do in Hollywood, they do,
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: And then people wonder why I didn't want to do that.
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: Why do you think Deuce is perpetually in a good movie?
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: Because I'm not having to fix a BlackBerry. Great, it says,
- 1:53:43Speaker 6: fix my BlackBerry, like you fix your BlackBerry.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: Mike, Mikey.
- 1:53:48Speaker 7: We got to go through our Christmas presents, so you
- 1:53:50Speaker 7: can you just you know, come in and I have
- 1:53:51Speaker 7: to like sit there and they would be like wine,
- 1:53:53Speaker 7: give basket wine, and then I have to buy everything
- 1:53:55Speaker 7: and then drive it all around l A and deliver everything.
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: Like it was.
- 1:53:58Speaker 6: It was sleeze balls.
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: Kyle Kyle uh from Maine says he's a fan of
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: Christian in La says, I really enjoy what Christian NLA calls.
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: He's the only caller that can change the current mood
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: of the show instantly makes it makes you wonder why
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: he's what he's going to say next. Is he mad
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: at Paul? Is he criticizing the Patriots? Or is he
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: just stirring up the pot. I have the biggest grin
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: the whole time. Doesn't matter what he says, but it's
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: the back of everyone's mind the whole show, and his
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: name gets brought up every hour even if he doesn't
- 1:54:32Speaker 3: call in. He's that itch in the middle of your
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: back you just can't reach. Keep up the great calls.
- 1:54:37Speaker 8: Christian he didn't go in today, What's going on with
- 1:54:39Speaker 8: you guys.
- 1:54:40Speaker 4: Called Tuesday and he had some tone, but yeah, he's
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: a he's a good villain.
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: You need callers like uh and Vivek writes him big
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: fan of the show. But I have to point out
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: something that Paul said last week. I do agree with
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: the major point that Paul brought up when arguing with
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: Christian in l A. And I hate to sound like
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: I'm defending that guy, but Paul's point about December Diggs
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: doesn't really hold up when he had back to back
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: one hundred yard games in December. I agree that he's
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: probably a descending player and don't think we should bring
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: him back, but had to pedantically pick at Paul a bit,
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: as he's usually right, so the opportunity is not always there.
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: That's okay. I think my point was down the stretch,
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: when the games get bigger, he tends to disappe.
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: All right, we got three callers on hold. Let's get
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: to him real quick because I have to a meeting
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: I have to go to.
- 1:55:32Speaker 5: We'll go to Joe and Pennsylvania. What's up Joe.
- 1:55:36Speaker 28: Hey, guys, I think s take my call. I'll get
- 1:55:38Speaker 28: right to it. And a comment about Caleb Loman, but
- 1:55:40Speaker 28: just the thing for Paul real quick. And Paul, I
- 1:55:44Speaker 28: like when everyone calls calls up and they ask you
- 1:55:46Speaker 28: those patriot history questions and like your memory is so
- 1:55:48Speaker 28: good with it, and I know you're a big Seinfeld fan.
- 1:55:51Speaker 28: But then when someone called you up with that, or
- 1:55:52Speaker 28: when there was that Seinfeld trivia about the about the
- 1:55:55Speaker 28: maister in the house in Tuscany, I couldn't believe you
- 1:55:58Speaker 28: couldn't get it.
- 1:55:59Speaker 4: Now, I know, I needed I needed Matt to look
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: up who is the one that actually said it? It was
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: the Maestro.
- 1:56:04Speaker 3: Well he didn't have money on that show. He has
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: money on the babies.
- 1:56:08Speaker 28: It made me think though, that that you can kill
- 1:56:12Speaker 28: They should call you up with some Seinfeld trivia during
- 1:56:14Speaker 28: the off season.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: Yeah, fred actually Fred was would blow me away. And
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: Seinfeld we'll take.
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: We'll take Seinfeld trivia.
- 1:56:22Speaker 14: I got one for you.
- 1:56:23Speaker 28: I just thought of while I was on hold.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: Right, but.
- 1:56:26Speaker 28: What was George's atm oh.
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: What was his atm pin? You know, Oh, that's a
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: good one. That's a good one. I know that Matt
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: knows it.
- 1:56:36Speaker 4: Go ahead, you say, fred Oscosco Costco.
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: Yep, yep, yeah, you got it.
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: Good Matt and Sir Matt.
- 1:56:46Speaker 5: Thanks Joe, appreciate the call.
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: Let's keep him going in North Carolina.
- 1:56:50Speaker 29: What's up, Saba, Hey guys, I tay you Okay, A
- 1:56:54Speaker 29: couple of things. First of all, Alexandra, think you're compd
- 1:56:57Speaker 29: Hollywood could be friend Drusser, not the voice, but she
- 1:57:00Speaker 29: might just play you.
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: Franch Tresher Okay.
- 1:57:06Speaker 29: She was a chandler's girlfriend or friends. And she's a
- 1:57:08Speaker 29: nanny as well.
- 1:57:09Speaker 13: Yes, I never watched an annie.
- 1:57:11Speaker 29: I used to have a palm. Loved it with the
- 1:57:14Speaker 29: little button, and then then I swore I never do
- 1:57:16Speaker 29: an iPhone until I went to the AT and T
- 1:57:18Speaker 29: store and they told me how all those things and
- 1:57:20Speaker 29: the key chain like from Hair's Teeter and Best Buy
- 1:57:23Speaker 29: and uh, you know, all the little cards it's gonna
- 1:57:26Speaker 29: be put on one app. I left there with four wow, Me,
- 1:57:29Speaker 29: my husband and two kids. So that was a quick
- 1:57:31Speaker 29: turn around. I love the T shirts. We went to
- 1:57:34Speaker 29: the game. Stix were Golden State clothed out against the
- 1:57:38Speaker 29: Celtics a few years ago against Steph Curry, and everybody
- 1:57:41Speaker 29: had one of them green T shirts. And now every
- 1:57:45Speaker 29: time I wear that, me and the kids, the husband,
- 1:57:47Speaker 29: we all like you know, it brings back memory. So
- 1:57:49Speaker 29: I think it's great when they put t shirts at
- 1:57:52Speaker 29: an event. It kind of gives you sort of like
- 1:57:55Speaker 29: something in common with everybody that was there that day.
- 1:57:57Speaker 29: I thought, I think that's.
- 1:57:58Speaker 5: A goes to every game.
- 1:58:01Speaker 29: And my last comment is on the Drake May thing.
- 1:58:05Speaker 29: I really liked how you guys have a healthy, healthy
- 1:58:08Speaker 29: discussion about whether he's the guy or not. It's not
- 1:58:11Speaker 29: already set in the thtone like with you know, a
- 1:58:14Speaker 29: redskin fan and slowly fading and they keep talking about
- 1:58:18Speaker 29: how Jaden Dance is the guy. Finally we got the quarterback, right, Wow,
- 1:58:21Speaker 29: I got the quarterback right. Even New England doesn't know
- 1:58:23Speaker 29: they got the quarterback right. These are the Chicago You
- 1:58:26Speaker 29: have to give it another year see what they really
- 1:58:29Speaker 29: are before you start giving this guy a billion dollars.
- 1:58:31Speaker 29: And one thing I tell I guarantee you this, I
- 1:58:34Speaker 29: don't think Drake May will ever be the highest paid
- 1:58:38Speaker 29: player or quarterback because that's not his style. He's gonna
- 1:58:40Speaker 29: be more Michael Jordan, take a little less for the
- 1:58:43Speaker 29: team and not like a Lebron James and hog it off.
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 1:58:48Speaker 29: He's gonna take last. It's gonna be a lot, but
- 1:58:50Speaker 29: I think he's not going to break the bank.
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: Just I don't know about that doing all right, thanks
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: for the call, appreciate it.
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: I think it's all timing. Yeah, you guys said earlier.
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: We'll finish up with Dan and Daytona.
- 1:59:01Speaker 13: What's up, Dan, No, this is marking Connecticut.
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: Marking Connecticut, says Dan and Daytona.
- 1:59:08Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: T shirt revoked, mal right, Mark, what's up? Oh hi, Mark,
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: welcome back.
- 1:59:13Speaker 18: You've been on a hiatus, so welcome back.
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: Appreciate it.
- 1:59:17Speaker 3: Paul.
- 1:59:18Speaker 18: I know earlier in the show you were talking about
- 1:59:20Speaker 18: the three top picks on you know who's going to
- 1:59:22Speaker 18: make an impact? Mark my words put me on Eli Reardon.
- 1:59:27Speaker 18: I've been talking to Evan about this. I think he's
- 1:59:30Speaker 18: going to be a chess piece for Josh McDaniels. I
- 1:59:32Speaker 18: think he's going to have a big impact this shift.
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: Let's go past.
- 1:59:35Speaker 5: So all right, Thanks Dan.
- 1:59:39Speaker 7: I'm excited to see Ota who he's out there, you know,
- 1:59:41Speaker 7: and I like him too.
- 1:59:43Speaker 4: I wrote his draft profile. I'm intrigued by the skills set.
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: I just would what what is the definition of a
- 1:59:48Speaker 4: huge impact this year for you? For him.
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: Yeah, what is it?
- 1:59:53Speaker 3: He's Yeah, it's a big plays. So who was the
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: the Raiders that came out powers? Yeah, he's going to
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: be that.
- 2:00:01Speaker 5: Well, that would be my definition of a huge impact.
- 2:00:04Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 2:00:04Speaker 6: Yeah, so this is the greatest tending season of the
- 2:00:07Speaker 6: definition of a huge impact is like seventy five catch ups.
- 2:00:10Speaker 4: I don't see it. If he catches twenty, I'd be
- 2:00:13Speaker 4: really happy with his first year.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, twenty. That's why I said five touchdowns. I
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: felt like that was like, you know.
- 2:00:17Speaker 4: I had friends, right, so more touchdowns than he had
- 2:00:21Speaker 4: in his entire college career. Yeah, yeah, yeah, give me
- 2:00:24Speaker 4: a huge impact reason unless they're all like one yard touchdowns.
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: All right, I gotta go. Newsletter. Subscribe to it. It's
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: Patriots dot com slash PU newsletters or newsletters either one
- 2:00:37Speaker 3: I think works.
- 2:00:38Speaker 7: Slash alex equal figure it out even he definitely want
- 2:00:41Speaker 7: to get the newsletter if you're not already getting it, uh.
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: And we will see you next Tuesday.
