The First Flip breakfast kicked off Calgary’s Stampede season early on Stephen Avenue, with real pancakes, big names flipping flapjacks—including Finance Minister Champagne, Premier Smith, and Mayor Farkas—and a whole lot of Stampede spirit. This beloved tradition, dating back to 1912, draws over a million visitors yearly for rodeo, concerts, and more—but nothing brings the community together like free pancakes.
