Sergeant Joe Friday and Officer Frank Smith respond to what appears to be a suicide by chloroform poisoning. The victim, tagged as Jane Doe Number Four, is a well-dressed woman in her mid-thirties wearing expensive jewelry, making suicide seem unlikely.
