- 0:01Speaker 1: Thanks Mike, congrats on your Dodgers by the way back
- 0:05Speaker 1: with cracking head coach Lane Lambert Lane back to back
- 0:08Speaker 1: overtime losses for Seattle finding ways to get points, But
- 0:12Speaker 1: how have you liked your team's game the past couple
- 0:16Speaker 1: of nights in those opportunities to get points?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Well, I thought that, you know, again, we're battling, we're grinding,
- 0:25Speaker 2: we're defending hard, We're not generating as much as we
- 0:29Speaker 2: want to. You know, we're looking for solutions from that standpoint,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and you know, if we do that, we'll not only
- 0:34Speaker 2: spend less time in our zone, but we'll give ourselves
- 0:37Speaker 2: an opportunity to do on the offensive zone to you know,
- 0:40Speaker 2: create and score more So, clearly disappointing, you know, overtime losses,
- 0:46Speaker 2: but again ways to collect points that are going to
- 0:52Speaker 2: be valuable at some point here. And you know, I
- 0:55Speaker 2: give our guys credit for doing that. Not only would
- 0:58Speaker 2: come back point against my trial, but you know, just
- 1:02Speaker 2: a battle and a grind against New York who you know,
- 1:05Speaker 2: they've got a good hockey team.
- 1:07Speaker 3: And you know they had you know, their top line
- 1:09Speaker 3: was feeling it pretty good in that game. So we
- 1:12Speaker 3: did a good job from that standpoint.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Of getting that point, and you know, it's just disappointing
- 1:17Speaker 2: that we couldn't get the extra but we've got to
- 1:19Speaker 2: move on.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You've talked the last couple of days about, you know,
- 1:22Speaker 1: the lack of offensive output. When you look at the reasons
- 1:26Speaker 1: as to why this team hasn't been able to score
- 1:28Speaker 1: as many goals as you would like, where do you
- 1:30Speaker 1: find some of those pitfalls may lie? Is it shot generation?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Is it not taking enough shots? Is it the looks
- 1:36Speaker 1: that you're getting? What can you pinpoint to see that
- 1:39Speaker 1: why the crack can have been not able to get
- 1:43Speaker 1: over that two and a half three goal mark more
- 1:46Speaker 1: often than not.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, probably, you know, for for much of the time
- 1:52Speaker 2: when we do get opportunities, first of all, you got
- 1:54Speaker 2: to take advantage of them. You know, we've had some
- 1:56Speaker 2: great a chances where we've missed the net. So let's
- 1:59Speaker 2: start with that. Let's start hitting the net. Let's start
- 2:01Speaker 2: putting more pucks on the net. Doesn't have to be
- 2:03Speaker 2: a perfect plan, it doesn't have to be a perfect shot.
- 2:05Speaker 2: We've got people go into the net, let's put them there.
- 2:07Speaker 2: It can go off of anybody in the end of
- 2:09Speaker 2: the net. So just basically a mentality. You know, there's
- 2:12Speaker 2: a mentality there, and you have to have that mentality
- 2:15Speaker 2: to score greasy goals, score goals that are maybe a
- 2:18Speaker 2: little bit ugly around the grease area. You know, there's
- 2:22Speaker 2: no question that with you know, McCann out of the
- 2:25Speaker 2: lineup and Freddy you drove out of the lineup, we're missing,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you know, in the neighborhood of fifty goals, and so
- 2:31Speaker 2: we've got to find a way to generate in other
- 2:34Speaker 2: ways with other guys.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You have gotten coppol Coco back, you got Brandon Montur back.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Rykan Evans is starting to skate again, Freddie Gudrou is
- 2:41Speaker 1: starting to skate again. As this team gets healthier and
- 2:44Speaker 1: you start to see players coming back, how does that change?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Does that change the approach that you have to your lineup?
- 2:51Speaker 1: What did you make of Coppolo Coco's return? Just what
- 2:54Speaker 1: can you share about these guys coming back and starting
- 2:57Speaker 1: to get your full lineup to where it needs to be.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Well, when they come back, doesn't change our approach, doesn't
- 3:02Speaker 2: change our mentality. You know, we are always looking to
- 3:05Speaker 2: play the game a certain way, with a certain identity
- 3:09Speaker 2: and a certain standard, and you know, they just accentuate that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: From that standpoint, I thought Coco was good the other
- 3:15Speaker 2: night his first game, Uh clearly, you know it was
- 3:18Speaker 2: it was his old old team and it was an
- 3:21Speaker 2: emotional night for him. So I thought he you know,
- 3:25Speaker 2: I thought for the most part, he played well. And
- 3:28Speaker 2: you know, he's clearly for me, going to be a
- 3:32Speaker 2: guy that's advantageous for our hockey team in the offensive zone.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Is certainly holding onto pox, keeping pucks and getting to
- 3:38Speaker 2: the net.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Looking at morning with skate line rushes, it looked like
- 3:41Speaker 1: Berkeley Catton out Tolven and takes that spot up on
- 3:44Speaker 1: the top line. When you look at your lines going
- 3:46Speaker 1: into this evening, what do you like about Tolven and
- 3:48Speaker 1: moving up and what have you thought about Berkeley Catton's
- 3:50Speaker 1: first few games in the NHL.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Well, I like Berkeley for starters, you know, and you'll
- 3:56Speaker 2: see here tonight where where Berkeley slots. You know, there's
- 4:01Speaker 2: again he's a young player who we feel can play
- 4:06Speaker 2: you know, multiple positions.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Again, you know, in saying that he's a guy who
- 4:13Speaker 3: has you know, you.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Don't want to overly confuse him in terms of where
- 4:18Speaker 2: he's playing, but we feel like, you know, he's done
- 4:21Speaker 2: a good enough job of being able to potentially be.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Moved around and we'll see where it goes.
- 4:26Speaker 2: What you saw on morning skate might not be what
- 4:29Speaker 2: you see five minutes into the game tonight.
- 4:31Speaker 1: The style Blackhawks are a team coming in a lot
- 4:33Speaker 1: of youth, a lot of skill. They're starting to put
- 4:36Speaker 1: it all together and have some success this season. It's
- 4:39Speaker 1: the return of Andre Bakowski back to Seattle, so an
- 4:41Speaker 1: emotional night for him as well. Lots of money on
- 4:44Speaker 1: that board. Probably, what can the crack and expect out
- 4:46Speaker 1: of the Hawks here tonight and what do they need
- 4:48Speaker 1: to what do they need to do to neutralize.
- 4:52Speaker 2: That well, you know, I mean you you pretty much
- 4:56Speaker 2: just talked about it. They've got some youth and the
- 5:00Speaker 2: veteran players. There's a good mix there. The youth much
- 5:03Speaker 2: similar to you know, some of our youth is starting to, uh,
- 5:07Speaker 2: you know, get more experience and gain in in years.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And you know, obviously, but Dark is an elite talent,
- 5:17Speaker 2: is an elite goal scorer, slash point getter.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And Berkovsky's had a great start the season.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You know, those two guys are playing together, they're feeling
- 5:27Speaker 2: it pretty good. You know, where they've I think become
- 5:30Speaker 2: even better as a team is defensively. You know, their
- 5:34Speaker 2: numbers are very good defensively, so you know they've got
- 5:38Speaker 2: some some big defenseman, some long defenseman, you know, that
- 5:42Speaker 2: make it very difficult to navigate your way through the
- 5:46Speaker 2: offensive zone on you know, it's gonna be a it's
- 5:49Speaker 2: going to be an extreme talent for our hockey team.
- 5:51Speaker 2: It's going to be a good hockey game tonight
