- 0:06Speaker 1: We're dropping it like it's hot here on Big ninety
- 0:08Speaker 1: eight point seven. We've got rom.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Keep park open, all the pools open. I always hear
- 0:13Speaker 2: music blasting from the Davies Pool. Yeah, it sounds like
- 0:15Speaker 2: everyone's having a great summer here. And you know what,
- 0:18Speaker 2: do not ruin a week's worth of our very short
- 0:21Speaker 2: lived summer here in the FM area by forgetting sunscreen
- 0:26Speaker 2: as you go celebrate your July fourth weekend. Okay, there
- 0:30Speaker 2: is nothing worse on planet Earth than when you forget
- 0:36Speaker 2: or miss a spot of sunscreen and basically your day's run.
- 0:41Speaker 3: It is rare for me to ever get burned, because
- 0:44Speaker 3: it's just the Cuban in me that keeps me from burning. However,
- 0:50Speaker 3: just over the weekend, it was like really windy and
- 0:54Speaker 3: I was out at a Wolfgang for their grand opening
- 0:57Speaker 3: and the sun was beating down on my back. I
- 1:00Speaker 3: was wearing a dress that had like a low back,
- 1:02Speaker 3: and I did not put sunscreen there.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Yeah, and I didn't like burn all the way and
- 1:07Speaker 4: peel or anything, but I definitely.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Got home looking a little lobstreet my back and.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I was like, oh, yeah, you gotta put on sunscreen girl.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16Speaker 2: There was one time we were outside and I put
- 1:19Speaker 2: sun and I actually did what you're supposed to do.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I put sunscreen on the whole, you know, part of
- 1:24Speaker 2: the body, YadA, YadA, YadA. But there was a part
- 1:25Speaker 2: of my back. It was so funny because I could
- 1:28Speaker 2: see it in the mirror and Corey was like, what
- 1:30Speaker 2: the heck happened in my You know how when you
- 1:32Speaker 2: try to reach the sunscreen with your hand over your
- 1:35Speaker 2: shoulder to.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Get as much of your back as possible.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I literally had a burn mark that had like finger
- 1:42Speaker 2: It looked like a hand because it was as far
- 1:45Speaker 2: as my hand could reach backwards.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Oh you had.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Like a pale hand and then the red.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, totally accidental. That's so great, but it did look
- 1:56Speaker 2: pretty funny. And if you have ever been sunburn and
- 2:00Speaker 2: obviously there are worse places than not. You know, if
- 2:03Speaker 2: I'm burned on like I don't know, like my calves
- 2:07Speaker 2: maybe or my shins.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That doesn't bother me that much.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I think there's obviously a lot less like nerve endings
- 2:13Speaker 2: or whatever and your shins, but there are some places
- 2:16Speaker 2: that are worse than others. And we posted this on
- 2:18Speaker 2: the Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page. Where is
- 2:21Speaker 2: the worst place to forget to put sunscreen, and right
- 2:26Speaker 2: off the bat, I want to give a big round
- 2:27Speaker 2: of applause to Todd who said it at the beach,
- 2:32Speaker 2: not what I was, not what I was going for,
- 2:34Speaker 2: But he's got a point. That's that's a great place
- 2:37Speaker 2: to not put on sunscreen, to not not put on sunscreen.
- 2:41Speaker 2: All right, Angie, what about this the tops of your feet?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Have you ever been burned on the top of your feet?
- 2:47Speaker 5: No?
- 2:47Speaker 3: I haven't. My kid's dad what We all went out
- 2:51Speaker 3: to the water park and the next day, I mean
- 2:54Speaker 3: just lobster feet and he couldn't put on his slides here,
- 2:58Speaker 3: just forgot. Yeah, because you don't think about the tops
- 3:01Speaker 3: of your feet.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I guess I've had the tops of my feet burnt before.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And it's like, unless you can really find some soft socks,
- 3:09Speaker 2: it's basically chalked for walking around.
- 3:12Speaker 4: For a Ofugh.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I like that Julia put the part in your hair.
- 3:16Speaker 3: This has happened to me, sure, and like I'm a
- 3:20Speaker 3: side part kind of girl. Okay, I'm never giving into
- 3:23Speaker 3: what gen Z says. But I did not put anything
- 3:27Speaker 3: there and it was, I mean so burnt and flaky
- 3:31Speaker 3: that then I had to switch to the middle part
- 3:34Speaker 3: for a while, and Leon, I look bad with a
- 3:38Speaker 3: middle part. My head looks like square shaped or something
- 3:41Speaker 3: is not good. So yes, the part in your hair, Julia,
- 3:44Speaker 3: that's important.
- 3:45Speaker 2: And as someone who normally has pretty short hair, I
- 3:48Speaker 2: buzz it all the time. I that is one place
- 3:51Speaker 2: I would always remember because I knew, Hey, we're playing
- 3:55Speaker 2: with fire if we don't get some literally, we are
- 3:57Speaker 2: playing with fire if we don't get some sunscreen up here.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And then I like this one because this is another
- 4:03Speaker 2: one you don't think about. But when they hurt, there's
- 4:08Speaker 2: no relief from it. You know, if your stomach hurts, right,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you can lay on your back, if your back birds
- 4:12Speaker 2: lay in your stomach.
- 4:13Speaker 1: There's kind of a way to get a little relief.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Ramona said, on your ears or like the tips of
- 4:19Speaker 2: your ears. Sandra said that as well. There is nothing
- 4:22Speaker 2: you can do for that. No, there's no position you
- 4:26Speaker 2: can really lay in that doesn't hurt.
- 4:28Speaker 3: True, Yeah, because you go to bed and then what
- 4:31Speaker 3: you're just your ears are on fires.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Like it's bad.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Unless you can sleep, like sitting completely up.
- 4:38Speaker 3: No, there's nothing you can remember to put on sunscreen
- 4:41Speaker 3: on your ears. I use this spray sunscreen on my boys. Like,
- 4:45Speaker 3: I'm like, turn around and I spray their ears.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I like that one. Well, there's your bigg reminder.
- 4:50Speaker 2: If your PSA headed into America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday, here,
- 4:55Speaker 2: get the sunscreen on and make sure you reapply. And
- 4:58Speaker 2: you can't say Big ninety eight point seven didn't tell
- 5:00Speaker 2: you so celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice
- 5:09Speaker 2: gratitude on Big ninety eight points seven.
- 5:11Speaker 1: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 5:13Speaker 1: basket job busted out whenever was someone's acting hard. Share
- 5:17Speaker 1: your little victories with us at seven kids, Kids.
- 5:20Speaker 6: I also needed to win.
- 5:21Speaker 2: That day, all right, Angie, do you have a little
- 5:24Speaker 2: victory to get our day started today?
- 5:25Speaker 6: Yes?
- 5:26Speaker 3: Sometimes the little victory is that knowledge is power. So
- 5:30Speaker 3: yesterday I was at starfire Works at the fair Grounds
- 5:33Speaker 3: and I was hanging out with Pixie and she was
- 5:35Speaker 3: helping me out with all the things I needed for
- 5:37Speaker 3: Star Firework time. But she bestowed upon me some knowledge
- 5:43Speaker 3: that I'm going to I mean, I'm going to put
- 5:46Speaker 3: into practice. Almost immediately, we were talking about peanut butter
- 5:50Speaker 3: flavored alcohol and.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Oh, now I know the kind of conversation with You're okay,
- 5:56Speaker 2: I'm now I'm really paying attention.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I was saying. I was saying, like, oh, I really
- 6:01Speaker 3: I like peanut butter whiskey, but whiskey is kind of
- 6:04Speaker 3: like a no go for me, Like I don't feel
- 6:06Speaker 3: great after I drink whiskey is just not my thing,
- 6:08Speaker 3: even though I love peanut butter whiskey. And then she
- 6:11Speaker 3: says to me, well, have you ever had peanut butter tequila?
- 6:16Speaker 3: And I didn't know that peanut butter tequila existed. And
- 6:20Speaker 3: I I'm a tequila girl that I'm fine, I don't
- 6:23Speaker 3: get hungover. I'm a delight and so I decided to delight.
- 6:28Speaker 3: You've been with me when I drink tea? Oh, I know,
- 6:31Speaker 3: And I don't know if delight is no. I'm just kidding,
- 6:33Speaker 3: my gosh, kid, I'm just kidding.
- 6:35Speaker 4: During birthday month, how dary.
- 6:37Speaker 3: But she told me about peanut butter tequila, and then
- 6:40Speaker 3: she showed me which brand she likes, Chicka Cheetah, I
- 6:44Speaker 3: think is what it's called. And I'm excited because I'm
- 6:48Speaker 3: absolutely going to get some peanut butter flavored tequila for
- 6:53Speaker 3: my birthday coming up on Friday.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm wonderful. That's at victory.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Yes, so thanks, Pixie appreciates you. What about you, Gabe?
- 7:01Speaker 4: What's your little victory?
- 7:02Speaker 1: I like knowledge's power. I wanna I'm gonna borrow that
- 7:04Speaker 1: or what'd you say?
- 7:05Speaker 6: No?
- 7:05Speaker 4: Yeah, knowledge is power.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I kind of like that.
- 7:07Speaker 2: My little victory today is I do believe baby G
- 7:14Speaker 2: is thinking at some point of entering the universe. Now,
- 7:19Speaker 2: my wife has never been pregnant, and I think any
- 7:22Speaker 2: I would like to guess any lady who has been
- 7:25Speaker 2: pregnant and they're about at that point. You know, anytime
- 7:29Speaker 2: there's any slight uncomfortability or slight something or slight change
- 7:33Speaker 2: in this, you're like, oh my god, is this the time?
- 7:37Speaker 2: And then you sit and wait fifteen days before the
- 7:39Speaker 2: thing arrives. But I think we're getting pretty close.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I like that.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I think that I'm fairly close, which I'm very very
- 7:47Speaker 2: excited about, obviously, and I'm kind of now just sort
- 7:51Speaker 2: of holding onto my phone all day.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder if you're going to have Maybe baby
- 7:56Speaker 3: G will be born on my birthday and we'll be
- 7:58Speaker 3: birthday twinsies, maybe the next day, and baby G will
- 8:01Speaker 3: be a fourth of July. Baby Yeah, But I mean,
- 8:05Speaker 3: either way, she's going to be a cancer, and I
- 8:07Speaker 3: love that for her.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I can't decide if I would really really hate for
- 8:11Speaker 2: her to share your birthday or if I'd love it.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I mean, I would always throw a party for her always.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I guess you two could party together while everyone else
- 8:21Speaker 2: is celebrating July fourth.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah, there we go.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I actually I.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Want someone to have your birthday with you. I hope
- 8:27Speaker 2: she's born on the third. Oh yeah, that would be wonderful.
- 8:30Speaker 3: That'd be a great victory.
- 8:38Speaker 2: And we here at Big ninety eight point seven, we
- 8:40Speaker 2: just want to wish you, obviously a happy fourth of
- 8:43Speaker 2: July week, but we also want to wish you a
- 8:45Speaker 2: happy seven oh one day today.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Happy seven oh one day. It's the one.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Day of the year when our area code gets more
- 8:54Speaker 2: attention than our weather, which honestly is saying something. If
- 8:58Speaker 2: you don't know what seven oh one means, well, welcome
- 9:01Speaker 2: to North Dakota. We'll teach you how to survive the winter.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Later.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Today, we celebrate waving at people we don't know, apologizing
- 9:07Speaker 2: when someone bumps into us, and measuring distance with oh,
- 9:11Speaker 2: it's about an hour, hour and a half away.
- 9:13Speaker 1: It's the only state where a traffic jam might.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Be caused by a combine and where we're going to
- 9:18Speaker 2: the lake requires enough gear to survive a week long expedition.
- 9:23Speaker 2: So here's the seven oh one day, the one holiday
- 9:26Speaker 2: we're saying. I'm from North Dakota and specifically the FM
- 9:31Speaker 2: area is finally the coolest thing you'll say all year.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Yes, loves it.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Congratulations our very own Fargo, North Dakota day. If you
- 9:41Speaker 2: have a seven to oh one area code, it is
- 9:43Speaker 2: kind of cool. All that works out.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I haven't changed my phone numbers, so now I'm feeling sad. However,
- 9:48Speaker 3: I feel like by association, that's right, Mikey has a
- 9:53Speaker 3: seven oh one number.
- 9:54Speaker 1: There you go. You know what's funny. I do not
- 9:56Speaker 1: have a seven oh one number either.
- 9:59Speaker 4: How this day is not for use.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, these days aren't for us, for me.
- 10:05Speaker 3: For us, no, because I'm I'm like with a man
- 10:08Speaker 3: who's a seven oh one.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Well, I know a man with a seven oh one number?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Does that count? All right?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Accounts? All right?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Now? I found this.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Story and it got me thinking of all the things
- 10:22Speaker 2: I tried to do to make money as I got
- 10:25Speaker 2: into the business spirits when I was younger, but kids
- 10:29Speaker 2: in Michigan may soon be able to run lemonade stands
- 10:33Speaker 2: without permits or licensing fees.
- 10:36Speaker 4: I'm sorry, don't.
- 10:38Speaker 3: All kids run lemonade stands without those things?
- 10:41Speaker 1: I would like to guess like ninety nine percent.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah. A bill passed the state House unanimously that would
- 10:47Speaker 2: let miners sell lemonade and other non alcoholic drinks on
- 10:51Speaker 2: private property as long as they make less than five
- 10:53Speaker 2: thousand dollars a year.
- 10:54Speaker 1: The proposal came after some.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Kids we're told they'd have to pay a recurring permit
- 11:00Speaker 2: fees just to sell lemonade.
- 11:03Speaker 3: You know what, it was some karen that went up
- 11:05Speaker 3: to the lemonade stand and ruined it and reported it.
- 11:09Speaker 3: And now this is where we are. Let the kids
- 11:11Speaker 3: sell the lemonade.
- 11:13Speaker 2: See, this doesn't give me karen vibe. I don't think. No, no,
- 11:16Speaker 2: this gives me like a chat or a brad or something. Yeah.
- 11:20Speaker 1: No, this gives me just some U.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'll use the word tool This gives me just some
- 11:27Speaker 2: toolbag vibe who didn't like some kid hanging out next
- 11:31Speaker 2: to his house or something sell lemonade.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Well, you know what, I'm glad that the bill is
- 11:36Speaker 3: passing or has passed or whatever. Let the kids sell lemonade.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Did you sell lemonade when you were a kid? What
- 11:41Speaker 3: were you doing to try to make money?
- 11:43Speaker 1: As I'll tell you what.
- 11:43Speaker 2: When I was a kid, I would do anything, but
- 11:45Speaker 2: the bravest thing I ever did I ever tried doing,
- 11:47Speaker 2: which you could never do in twenty twenty six anymore.
- 11:50Speaker 2: But this was back in the nineties. All right, kids,
- 11:53Speaker 2: different time, Do not do this.
- 11:55Speaker 4: It was the nineties.
- 11:56Speaker 1: But when I was a kid and wanted money, I
- 11:58Speaker 1: would do all kinds of things.
- 11:59Speaker 2: You know, I've tried to cut grass or yeah, snowbloat,
- 12:02Speaker 2: not snowboell, but shovel shovel, yeah, right, shovel driveways. The
- 12:06Speaker 2: bravest thing I would ever do, though, was like nine
- 12:09Speaker 2: ten years old. I would just bike to houses in
- 12:11Speaker 2: my neighborhood that look like they needed things cleaned up
- 12:14Speaker 2: around their house, and I would just knock on the
- 12:17Speaker 2: door and be like, hey, do you want me to
- 12:19Speaker 2: clean this part of the yard for five to ten dollars?
- 12:22Speaker 4: Did this work? I would feel immediately judged and say.
- 12:25Speaker 2: No, yeah, you got some nine year old think in
- 12:27Speaker 2: your yard looks like junk, you know. But bravest thing
- 12:31Speaker 2: I ever did, and once in a while, so I'm
- 12:33Speaker 2: gonna be like, actually, yeah, could you like take all
- 12:35Speaker 2: these sticks and throw them in this section so I
- 12:38Speaker 2: can burn them or cut them or whatever. So occasionally
- 12:42Speaker 2: someone would say, yeah, what.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Was your money making scheme when you were a kid?
- 12:47Speaker 3: Seven oh one two way one nine eight seven?
- 12:50Speaker 4: Let us know? Was it a lemonade stand?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Like?
- 12:52Speaker 4: What what other things I know that I.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Saw in South Fargo. I'm a sucker for a lemonade.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Stack, take my money.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Saw a hot Coco stand. I saw hot Coco. It
- 13:03Speaker 3: was like kids selling hot chocolate. Oh yeah, it's South
- 13:06Speaker 3: far Gone. I was like, yep, immediately take my money.
- 13:08Speaker 3: And then they add, you know, then there's the brownies
- 13:10Speaker 3: and the cookies they add to that.
- 13:11Speaker 4: They'd be raking in some dough and you know what,
- 13:13Speaker 4: they deserve it.
- 13:14Speaker 3: When I was young, I was I'm of the Mary
- 13:18Speaker 3: Kate and Ashley Detective series.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Sure, and so me and the neighborhood Games.
- 13:24Speaker 3: We made a flyer and we pitched that we would
- 13:27Speaker 3: solve any neighborhood crime.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I loved this idea. Let me tell you, we made
- 13:32Speaker 1: no money, oh zero.
- 13:34Speaker 3: There were no neighborhood crimes that they were gonna, you know,
- 13:37Speaker 3: trust a fourth grader to solve.
- 13:39Speaker 4: So that didn't work out. I should have jumped on
- 13:42Speaker 4: the lemonade.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Route, Yeah, don't. I don't hate that.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I also I remember when I was young trying to
- 13:49Speaker 2: sell lemonade, right, and if someone didn't have like change, yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 2: I would just give them the lemonade for free. I
- 13:57Speaker 2: wasn't a great business man at that point. But strangely enough,
- 14:00Speaker 2: it's the reverse. I've seen this girl selling lemonade by
- 14:04Speaker 2: the softball fields over by Davies in South Fargo, and
- 14:07Speaker 2: I was on a walk with Corey and our dog,
- 14:10Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, we should buy subleminade or whatever.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Of course I only had a ten dollars bill. She
- 14:15Speaker 2: took me for the whole ten. I just say, you
- 14:18Speaker 2: can just keep it. We do have Emily on the phone. Emily,
- 14:21Speaker 2: did you ever have a you know, childhood money making scheme.
- 14:25Speaker 7: I had a little pipe sitting business, and wherever my
- 14:28Speaker 7: neighbors went on vacation, I would feed their cac so
- 14:30Speaker 7: I would walk their dogs and collect their mail. And
- 14:33Speaker 7: it made me feel so grown up because people actually
- 14:36Speaker 7: trusted me with their houses.
- 14:38Speaker 1: That's actually really good. If I could redo it.
- 14:41Speaker 2: If I was back to being eight nine, ten years old,
- 14:43Speaker 2: i'd have found people with like small dogs and been
- 14:45Speaker 2: a dog walker.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I would have failed at that. That wouldn't have
- 14:49Speaker 4: been my jam.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Seven oh one two, eight zero one nine eight seven
- 14:52Speaker 2: When you were really young? Was there anything you tried
- 14:55Speaker 2: to do to earn a little extra money?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Is am I the problem?
- 15:02Speaker 6: It's me?
- 15:03Speaker 4: Hi on the problem.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It's me.
- 15:07Speaker 5: We'll hear one side of the story and with your
- 15:09Speaker 5: help probably decide if it's right or if maybe you're
- 15:14Speaker 5: the problem. That's right, I am the problem on Big
- 15:18Speaker 5: ninety eight point seven.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Is Amy overreacting or is she valid in this situation?
- 15:25Speaker 4: Hi, gab and ANNG. My name is Amy.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I've got bachelorette party drama and I need your guys advice.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I'm a bride'smaid, but not the maid of honor, so
- 15:34Speaker 3: I didn't plan the bachelorette but I found out the
- 15:36Speaker 3: restaurant we're going to is the one my ex works at,
- 15:40Speaker 3: and things ended the literal worst way it could. I'm
- 15:43Speaker 3: not proud of it, but there was some infidelity on
- 15:46Speaker 3: my part and it was an explosive breakup. Last summer,
- 15:49Speaker 3: I told the maid of honor. I don't feel comfortable
- 15:52Speaker 3: and could we change the location? But she says the
- 15:55Speaker 3: plans are set and she knows the bride loves that place.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Should I tell the bride what's going on or leave
- 16:01Speaker 3: her out of it? Do you think I'm being problematic?
- 16:03Speaker 3: I just want to avoid any tension, and I'm sure
- 16:06Speaker 3: he wouldn't want to see me there, Amy, And I
- 16:10Speaker 3: say this with all kindness and love in my heart.
- 16:14Speaker 3: This ain't about you, okay. If it isn't the consequences
- 16:20Speaker 3: of your own actions, listen.
- 16:24Speaker 4: This bachelor party's not about you.
- 16:26Speaker 3: It's about the bride. If that's a restaurant that the
- 16:27Speaker 3: bride loves like, you're going to the restaurant.
- 16:30Speaker 4: You're going to the restaurant.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Who's to even say that your ex is gonna be
- 16:33Speaker 3: working that day? And even if they aren't like what,
- 16:36Speaker 3: he don't say anything. I'm sure if he sees you
- 16:39Speaker 3: walk in, he's not gonna say I want that table,
- 16:42Speaker 3: I want to serve that table.
- 16:44Speaker 4: That would be crazy work.
- 16:46Speaker 3: If he doesn't want to see you, he's gonna make
- 16:48Speaker 3: sure that he's not seeing you, even if you show up.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Do not bring the bride into this absolutely.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Not, and you're just gonna have to like bite the
- 16:56Speaker 3: bullet girl like that, or you don't go, but then
- 16:59Speaker 3: that makes you a horrible bride made So I think, Amy,
- 17:04Speaker 3: I'm sorry, but you are the problem here.
- 17:07Speaker 4: What do you think, Gabe?
- 17:08Speaker 2: I would suggest, if it is that big of an issue,
- 17:11Speaker 2: then you don't go. You know, just how we say
- 17:14Speaker 2: some things aren't for you. Yeah, you know, maybe maybe
- 17:18Speaker 2: this bachelorette party or this portion of the bachelorette party
- 17:22Speaker 2: is in for you. Maybe you go, you know, get
- 17:24Speaker 2: your nails done while people do this, or you go
- 17:27Speaker 2: run some errands or I don't know if this is
- 17:28Speaker 2: a multiple day thing, but if you miss this little
- 17:31Speaker 2: chunk of bachelorette party, if it is that big of
- 17:34Speaker 2: a deal and that traumatic to skip this part and
- 17:37Speaker 2: then explain afterwards why you didn't go to miss bride
- 17:41Speaker 2: and then it'll all be good.
- 17:43Speaker 4: I still think you should just go. What do you think?
- 17:46Speaker 3: Seven oh one two, eight oh one nine eight seven
- 17:49Speaker 3: text us call us.
- 17:50Speaker 4: We also have this up on the Big.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Ninety eight point seven Facebook page. Amy wants to know
- 18:01Speaker 3: she's the problem because she's part of a bridal party.
- 18:05Speaker 3: The bachelorette a set. She's a bridesmaid, not the maid
- 18:08Speaker 3: of honor. The maid of Honor made the plans. Amy
- 18:11Speaker 3: found out the restaurant that they're going to is where
- 18:14Speaker 3: her ex works and it was a really bad breakup,
- 18:17Speaker 3: so she wants them to change the location. Maid of
- 18:21Speaker 3: Honor said no, the bride really likes that restaurant, like,
- 18:24Speaker 3: deal with it. And so Amy wants to know. Should
- 18:28Speaker 3: I go to the bride about this? What should I do?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Because I don't want to go to the restaurant because
- 18:35Speaker 3: my ex work's there.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Can I share nick real quick? Because there's a lot
- 18:39Speaker 2: a lot of ladies chiming in here this morning. Yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 2: which is wonderful, But this is the most dude response
- 18:46Speaker 2: we're gonna get. Oh gosh, a lot of ladies with
- 18:49Speaker 2: awesome advice that we'll get to. But can the dude
- 18:52Speaker 2: advice is hilarious to me. Suck it up, Buttercup, you cheated,
- 18:57Speaker 2: and I guess this would be your karma.
- 18:59Speaker 1: That's it. That's the end of it. Okay, I fuck
- 19:01Speaker 1: it up. That's what I actually agree with that.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I agree with that though, like, well, well, well if.
- 19:07Speaker 3: It isn't the consequences of your own actions, I think
- 19:11Speaker 3: you just go. It's not about you, It's about the bride.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I will say this, Elena texted us. Let the maid
- 19:19Speaker 3: of honor know you won't attend if she doesn't change
- 19:22Speaker 3: the location. If you're a bride'smaid, the bride will want
- 19:26Speaker 3: you there, so the maid of honor can cater to
- 19:29Speaker 3: your request. It's just a restaurant and can't be the
- 19:33Speaker 3: only place the bride likes. I'm not gonna lie. I
- 19:37Speaker 3: didn't think we would have anybody on Amy's side, but Amy,
- 19:41Speaker 3: you just found a friend in Elena. Elena thinks you
- 19:44Speaker 3: should give the maid of honor an ultimatum.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Could but at least like leave the bride out of it.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. Actually, I'm gonna try to spin zone
- 19:57Speaker 2: this in my own brain.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Here.
- 19:58Speaker 2: What you do is but an ultimatum on the maid
- 20:03Speaker 2: of honor. It never gets back to the bride. And
- 20:06Speaker 2: now the maid of honor is the reason you're not
- 20:09Speaker 2: at this part of the function. Perfect, we just spin
- 20:12Speaker 2: zone this whole thing.
- 20:14Speaker 4: We're playing a game of stay toxic.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Is that that's not what I really think she should?
- 20:20Speaker 4: Jewel said on Facebook.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Don't make it drama, go and just eat with the
- 20:24Speaker 3: bridle party, that's what I think. So because it's not
- 20:27Speaker 3: about her, it's about the bride, and if the bride
- 20:30Speaker 3: likes that restaurant.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah, A majority of people are chiming in saying, hey,
- 20:34Speaker 2: you just got to kind of take this one on
- 20:36Speaker 2: the chin, right, you just gotta suck it up, get
- 20:38Speaker 2: through it. The day is not about you. You're gonna
- 20:40Speaker 2: be hanging out with a bunch of ladies, all right,
- 20:42Speaker 2: You're gonna be having fun. There's no reason to even
- 20:45Speaker 2: pay attention to your ex who is there. But I
- 20:47Speaker 2: do not hate this from Michelle. Now, I don't know
- 20:50Speaker 2: if I could do this, but she did say that,
- 20:54Speaker 2: you know, unless you're blocked what you might be, you
- 20:57Speaker 2: could reach out to X and just be like, hey,
- 20:59Speaker 2: here's this situation.
- 21:00Speaker 1: This wasn't my idea. I'm going to be here.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I just want can we ignore each other completely and
- 21:06Speaker 2: at the very least he's not caught off guard that
- 21:09Speaker 2: you're walking on in But even then, you know at
- 21:12Speaker 2: that you still should just ignore each other completely.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I that is a move, though not bad advice, it's
- 21:18Speaker 1: not terrible.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but all of these things are saying still go
- 21:24Speaker 3: still go to the bachelorette amy unless you want to
- 21:27Speaker 3: go with Elena's advice and give an ultimatum to.
- 21:32Speaker 2: The maid of honor. And well, I do want to
- 21:34Speaker 2: end with this. This was so funny because at the
- 21:36Speaker 2: beginning of this whole scenario I had laughed and explained
- 21:39Speaker 2: to Angie, why is it always something with bachelor? It
- 21:43Speaker 2: always there's always something. And maybe it's because you know,
- 21:47Speaker 2: that's the exciting slash drama part of the bachelorette party.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I never hear about the fun, the places you went,
- 21:54Speaker 2: the restaurants. I never hear that part of the story first.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I always hear the drama part. Fair enough, right, Well,
- 22:02Speaker 2: Julia texted us. Thank you, Julia, she said, I just
- 22:05Speaker 2: laughed because I just got back from a bachelorette party
- 22:07Speaker 2: trip where one girl didn't show up last minute and
- 22:10Speaker 2: didn't tell anyone leading up that she wasn't coming.
- 22:13Speaker 7: Wow.
- 22:13Speaker 1: As always, so it's.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Always the thing.
- 22:15Speaker 3: But that's part of bachelorette lore.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I think officially, you know, we're kind of on Baby
- 22:29Speaker 2: G watch. Yes, Baby G at some point this month
- 22:34Speaker 2: soon will enter this world. And before we get into
- 22:38Speaker 2: what I want to get into right now, I want
- 22:40Speaker 2: to just say a deep sincere apology to a lot
- 22:45Speaker 2: of dudes out there. What Because I have asked ladies, hey,
- 22:50Speaker 2: what advice would you have for me to be a supportive, present,
- 22:54Speaker 2: not annoying partner in the delivery room? And I can't
- 22:59Speaker 2: help but feel there are a lot of hubbies and
- 23:02Speaker 2: boyfriends who are sort of kind of getting put on
- 23:06Speaker 2: blasts without getting put on blasts. Oh why else would
- 23:11Speaker 2: you bring up don't breed too loud if you haven't
- 23:15Speaker 2: experienced that before?
- 23:16Speaker 3: H Yeah, Yeah, listen, I will say, as a woman
- 23:20Speaker 3: who has delivered two babies in her life, we are
- 23:25Speaker 3: not the most rational during that process. So we do
- 23:29Speaker 3: be getting mad at things that in normal life ridiculous.
- 23:34Speaker 4: But during labor.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Life, absolutely that's a whole different thing.
- 23:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Absolutely, Like it's fair for us to be upset at
- 23:41Speaker 3: these things. And that's why you need to know this information, Gabe. Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 3: whatever advice you have for Gabe for how he should
- 23:47Speaker 3: be behaving in the delivery room, let us know seven
- 23:50Speaker 3: oh one two eight oho one nine eight seven. We
- 23:53Speaker 3: also have this up on the Big ninety eight point
- 23:54Speaker 3: seven Facebook page. I was going through some of these
- 23:57Speaker 3: answers and these ladies are.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Correct well, angie like you just said. We had Crystal
- 24:02Speaker 2: W who said, don't be mad if she calls you
- 24:05Speaker 2: choice words, not saying I did that with like the
- 24:09Speaker 2: face palm emoji, face palm emoji.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Okay, Crystal, I feel you all right.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Like, for example, Andrea said, do not in all caps
- 24:18Speaker 2: tell her how uncomfortable the chairs are.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Andrea, was your hubby having a bad time on the chairs?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Is that one I'm learning here today?
- 24:27Speaker 4: Bruh, you better don't you could?
- 24:29Speaker 3: The most uncomfortable you you'll ever be won't even compare.
- 24:34Speaker 4: To what Corey is feeling. So don't you dare mention it?
- 24:37Speaker 2: You know what I love to is there are so
- 24:39Speaker 2: many do notots in all caps and all caps, yes, Morgan,
- 24:44Speaker 2: do not say how tired you are at any point.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Did something happen where someone was feeling tired that day?
- 24:54Speaker 1: Amanda said, do not give her advice. I almost throat
- 24:58Speaker 1: punched my husband.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Wow, okay, so for sure that's confirmation your husband did
- 25:03Speaker 3: the wrong thing.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Could you imagine just like, oh well, what if you
- 25:06Speaker 1: just did this?
- 25:08Speaker 3: Like I could quite literally imagine you saying that, Gabe,
- 25:11Speaker 3: like the role of the words rolled off your tongue,
- 25:14Speaker 3: so easy. Right now, I will say, Brianna, she said,
- 25:17Speaker 3: advocate for her if she doesn't want visitors, etc. Be
- 25:20Speaker 3: the one to set those boundaries. Absolutely, this is super important.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I know that a lot of these are very funny,
- 25:26Speaker 3: but yeah, Mom does not want to have to be
- 25:29Speaker 3: dealing with any external things.
- 25:31Speaker 4: She doesn't feel like it.
- 25:32Speaker 3: You are gonna have to be the decision maker and
- 25:36Speaker 3: you have to voice that for her because she's gonna
- 25:38Speaker 3: be contractions, tired, feeling in all kinds of ways, because
- 25:42Speaker 3: she's literally trying to push a baby out of her body.
- 25:46Speaker 3: And so you have to be the one to set
- 25:49Speaker 3: those boundaries.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you what.
- 25:50Speaker 2: If there was anyone designed to use their voice it,
- 25:54Speaker 2: it's your boy.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Here.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Now, I will say, I give a big shout out
- 25:57Speaker 2: to Tyler. This actually was from a fello dad or
- 26:00Speaker 2: a dad here. He said, Hey, bring your own pillow
- 26:03Speaker 2: from a fellow dad who had to sleep on the
- 26:04Speaker 2: couch in the birthing. Sweet, that is good advice. Get
- 26:06Speaker 2: yourself at least a pillow for your own little head.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and then he didn't complain about how uncomfortable he was.
- 26:12Speaker 4: He did it right, all right.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I have two more for you here and there are
- 26:16Speaker 2: a ton of great ones, and I know I'm kind
- 26:18Speaker 2: of going through the funny ones, but there it does
- 26:20Speaker 2: end on a very very positive one here. But Rebecca says,
- 26:24Speaker 2: don't breed too loud, do not eat in the room,
- 26:26Speaker 2: do not bring coffee in the room, do not sit
- 26:28Speaker 2: and stare at your phone even if you are bored,
- 26:30Speaker 2: be present. That one does go longer. Yeah, don't breed
- 26:33Speaker 2: too loud does make me laugh.
- 26:34Speaker 4: That's true. You better watch that. Watch your breath again.
- 26:38Speaker 1: What if I got one of the whistlers in my nose?
- 26:40Speaker 4: Now, I guess you go outside?
- 26:41Speaker 1: Oh okay, okay, sir.
- 26:43Speaker 2: And then finally, Kayla, I think really summed up the
- 26:46Speaker 2: best advice because for every mom going into labor or
- 26:50Speaker 2: in labor, there's gonna be different needs and wants and
- 26:53Speaker 2: things like that. Kayla did say, just be whatever type
- 26:56Speaker 2: of support, Just be whatever type of supportive it works
- 26:59Speaker 2: for her. Everyone's support needs are different. After baby is born,
- 27:03Speaker 2: Let her sleep, that is probably the most important.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Yeah, let her sleep.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Let her sleep, and when she wakes up, you better
- 27:10Speaker 3: have her favorite meal ready for her to consume.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Right. Well, I do appreciate all the advice.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I really do want to be a supportive teammate in
- 27:18Speaker 2: this endeavor, and I'm only about point one percent of
- 27:21Speaker 2: the team, so I want to contribute my point one percent.
- 27:30Speaker 2: A lot has been made of my outfit that and
- 27:32Speaker 2: by a lot, I mean I've made a lot of
- 27:33Speaker 2: my outfit that I'll be wearing tomorrow here in Big
- 27:38Speaker 2: ninety eight point seven Studios to celebrate a the love
- 27:42Speaker 2: of the United States that I have and to be
- 27:45Speaker 2: annoy Angie.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I said that I don't believe in overalls as a
- 27:50Speaker 3: fashion statement.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I think they have their function.
- 27:53Speaker 3: You have your painting pairworking, if you're pregnant, if you're
- 27:57Speaker 3: on the farm. But in terms of fashion, overalls ain't
- 28:00Speaker 3: it for me. So naturally, Gabe is Gabe, and so.
- 28:05Speaker 6: He ordered why else I was talking in the middle
- 28:09Speaker 6: of the break, Ye ordered himself some American flag overalls
- 28:14Speaker 6: and he did post this on the Big ninety eight
- 28:16Speaker 6: points on Facebook page if you want to see the ridiculousness.
- 28:20Speaker 3: But more importantly, tomorrow, which is when I am celebrating
- 28:25Speaker 3: my birthday a little bit early because we've got big
- 28:28Speaker 3: Happy Hour unhinged.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Since I'm gonna be there, might as well celebrate.
- 28:32Speaker 3: But Gabe said, I'm actually gonna come into work to
- 28:35Speaker 3: upset you wearing these overalls. And while I can't stop
- 28:39Speaker 3: you from doing it, I do want you to come in.
- 28:44Speaker 3: If you're gonna commit to the bit, commit to the bit.
- 28:46Speaker 3: I want you to come in wearing those overalls. I
- 28:48Speaker 3: think it should be San's shirt.
- 28:51Speaker 4: I don't think that you should be wearing chands.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Oh my god, sands sa n s. It means without
- 28:58Speaker 3: without just say you know, I don't know what that is, Okay,
- 29:01Speaker 3: I'm sorry, without a shirt. I think that if you're
- 29:04Speaker 3: gonna be wearing the overalls, you gotta do it how
- 29:06Speaker 3: you did on the big ninety eight points I have
- 29:08Speaker 3: on Facebook page.
- 29:09Speaker 2: No shirt, I'm down you will do that. Yeah, I
- 29:13Speaker 2: might have to double check with HR.
- 29:15Speaker 3: But no, it's for a bit. I'm sure that they're
- 29:17Speaker 3: done with that. My thing is shouldn't isn't it better
- 29:21Speaker 3: to what is it? Beg forgiveness than ask permission?
- 29:24Speaker 1: One thousand percent? Let's how I've operated my entire life,
- 29:27Speaker 1: all right.
- 29:27Speaker 3: So this will be no different tomorrow, Gabe. If you're
- 29:30Speaker 3: gonna come in here with these ridiculous overalls, then I
- 29:34Speaker 3: want full commitment and you better not be wearing a
- 29:36Speaker 3: shirt that sounds so weird.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I think what we should do is maybe leave it
- 29:40Speaker 2: up to you who was hanging out with us here
- 29:42Speaker 2: this morning on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 29:45Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Do I commit all the way and come in shirtless
- 29:50Speaker 2: with these overalls? Maybe spray the armpit hairs red, white,
- 29:54Speaker 2: and blue?
- 29:55Speaker 1: Really go all the w yes, I don't know. I
- 29:57Speaker 1: don't want to do that.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Okay, we're I'm gonna put up a pole on the
- 30:02Speaker 3: Big ninety eight point seven Instagram at Big nine eight
- 30:05Speaker 3: seven FM. I'm gonna put up the pole. Does Gabe
- 30:09Speaker 3: come into work tomorrow in his patriotic overalls.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Without a shirt on?
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll leave it up to you.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Or do I need to wear like a white tea
- 30:18Speaker 2: or a blue tea or a red tea under or
- 30:20Speaker 2: something along those lines. And I do want to make
- 30:22Speaker 2: my case a little bit, ladies. I will let you
- 30:25Speaker 2: know this is true. I did do fifty push ups yesterday,
- 30:30Speaker 2: so I might be looking pretty good in those overalls.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I need some good starting off the day with something good.
- 30:41Speaker 5: This is Gabe's good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 30:46Speaker 2: As America celebrates its two hundred and fiftieth birthday. This year,
- 30:50Speaker 2: my native homeland, Minnesota, is taking the opportunity to celebrate
- 30:55Speaker 2: something else, and that's its own incredible story. Minnesota is
- 30:58Speaker 2: launching a series of history filled road trips, community events,
- 31:02Speaker 2: and celebrations that highlight the people, places and moments that
- 31:06Speaker 2: helped shape our country. It's a reminder that history isn't
- 31:09Speaker 2: just found, you know, in Washington, d c. Or in
- 31:12Speaker 2: the thirteen original colonies. It's right here in our own backyard.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Whether it's a small town museum, a historic landmark, or
- 31:18Speaker 2: a family tradition that's been passed down for generations. This
- 31:22Speaker 2: is a chance to appreciate where we've come from and
- 31:25Speaker 2: the communities that continue to make this great play a
- 31:28Speaker 2: great place to call home. And my favorite quote, I
- 31:31Speaker 2: always end the show at this, Every single day, broken crayons,
- 31:34Speaker 2: they still color, And the world is full of nice people.
- 31:36Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
