Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's your dose of the hottest influencer and pop culture
- 0:08Speaker 2: news twice a week.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm Amy Torber. I'm Kate Torber. And I'm Sophie Torber.
- 0:12Speaker 2: And coming up on today's show, Sky Wheatley reveals her
- 0:16Speaker 2: baby daddy is in a new relationship. Laura Henshaw's gross
- 0:20Speaker 2: podcast admission and Jazz Hand sparks confusion after revealing she's
- 0:25Speaker 2: moving to Paris. But first, Veruca Salt's baby daddy has
- 0:29Speaker 2: been revealed. The world has only ever known him as Charles,
- 0:32Speaker 2: which I personally thought was a pseudonym, but is in
- 0:35Speaker 2: fact his real name. Yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 1: So his full name is Charles Onyuku and he's an
- 0:40Speaker 1: American actor and model. He is very good looking.
- 0:44Speaker 2: He's appeared in ads with Nissan and Dr.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Pepper.
- 0:47Speaker 2: He also has a sporting background. So he played division
- 0:50Speaker 2: one college football and his two older brothers still play
- 0:53Speaker 2: in the NFL. Now he's got around 15,000 followers on Instagram.
- 0:57Speaker 1: He's definitely a step up from that.
- 0:58Speaker 2: What is that?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Digi got? Digi premium.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Ex-husband for a couple of days.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 1: She's definitely leveled up.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Now Veruca is actually yet to publicly post about Charles,
- 1:07Speaker 2: but a super sleuth screenshot a story he posted to
- 1:10Speaker 2: his Instagram saying, And influencer updates went on to share it.
- 1:13Speaker 2: So in the photo, he has the biggest smile on
- 1:16Speaker 2: his face as he's cuddling the babies on his chest.
- 1:18Speaker 2: And he captioned the photo, Welcome to the world, babies.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Blessed to be your father. So they met in America,
- 1:24Speaker 1: didn't they? Yeah, he's from LA.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And it appears he may have moved to Australia. Veruca
- 1:29Speaker 2: spoke a couple of months ago about how he was
- 1:31Speaker 2: keen to actually make the move, but we're yet to
- 1:33Speaker 2: hear an update. And it's nice to see things are
- 1:35Speaker 2: actually cordial between the pair because originally Veruca referred to
- 1:39Speaker 2: him as the devil walking among us and said that
- 1:42Speaker 2: things hadn't been going well between them since he discovered
- 1:45Speaker 2: that she was pregnant. I mean, I'm guessing it has
- 1:47Speaker 2: something to do with the fact that originally she asked
- 1:50Speaker 2: him to do a paternity test because she wasn't sure
- 1:52Speaker 2: if it was his or someone else's.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Also, I don't think that The pregnancy was exactly planned,
- 1:57Speaker 1: was it? No, it wasn't. She was on the pill
- 1:59Speaker 1: at the time. And it didn't sound like they'd been
- 2:00Speaker 1: together for long. Can you imagine this happening and getting twins?
- 2:03Speaker 1: You just feel like, what?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Look, I actually think, because she was saying that she
- 2:07Speaker 2: was hoping it was the other guy. I don't know
- 2:09Speaker 2: what he looked like, but I would be quite happy
- 2:12Speaker 2: with these jeans. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Good jeans.
- 2:16Speaker 4: And then you dry yourself, like, ballsack, butt crack, like,
- 2:18Speaker 4: whatever it is. I don't want that on my towel.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Laura Henshaw has shocked her followers by making a gross
- 2:24Speaker 2: admission on her podcast. During an episode of Steph and Laura,
- 2:28Speaker 2: a discussion about how often you should clean your towel
- 2:31Speaker 2: turned into a debate about shared towels.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Let's take a listen. Do you share a towel with Josh?
- 2:38Speaker 4: No, but he often uses my towel.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh, so you have dedicated towels. This is so stupid.
- 2:43Speaker 4: We do and I know of them, but we've never
- 2:46Speaker 4: really spoken of like, are you on the left or
- 2:48Speaker 4: are you on the right or like I'm red.
- 2:49Speaker 1: He just uses whatever's there, which annoys me.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Same.
- 2:52Speaker 1: No, that's so annoying.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Why?
- 2:54Speaker 1: Except Atlas. Because then it's wet.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Like you go to have your shower and you want
- 2:58Speaker 4: to use your towel and it's kind of damp.
- 3:00Speaker 3: I just check which one is the least damp.
- 3:03Speaker 4: But I also don't trust that he's washing himself as
- 3:05Speaker 4: thoroughly as I am. You know, like it's another body.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I don't know, like a man's body. I don't want
- 3:11Speaker 4: to put his butt crack on my face.
- 3:12Speaker 2: That's what I think about. What do you mean?
- 3:15Speaker 1: Do you think he doesn't wash his butt crack?
- 3:17Speaker 2: No, he does.
- 3:17Speaker 4: But even if you wash your body and then you
- 3:20Speaker 4: dry yourself, like ball sack, butt crack, like whatever it is,
- 3:23Speaker 4: I don't want that on my towel.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I share a towel and I also share a toothbrush
- 3:26Speaker 1: and I know. That's disgusting.
- 3:28Speaker 4: I know that of you and yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It's electric though so it's like.
- 3:31Speaker 4: No, that's my, for me we've done that when it's
- 3:34Speaker 4: like we don't have a choice and I'm like, oh,
- 3:37Speaker 4: but I'll do it. But that's not a daily thing.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I love how she was like, you have dedicated towels?
- 3:44Speaker 2: As if it was like the most insane thing that
- 3:47Speaker 2: was ever said.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I was like thinking, and you don't? Wait, so you're
- 3:50Speaker 1: saying you have a dedicated towel? Yeah, it's like a
- 3:52Speaker 1: normal person.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Really?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I don't. I'm team Laura here. Like you have one
- 3:55Speaker 1: towel between you.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Well, quite often it gets to that case because you
- 3:59Speaker 2: run out of towels, you use one on the ground
- 4:01Speaker 2: because it's wet. Like we have this, like it gets
- 4:04Speaker 2: to a situation where you're like, this towel is damp.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I haven't even used it.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I have been known recently to be a bit of
- 4:09Speaker 2: a towel thief because I will have my shower at
- 4:12Speaker 2: the end of the day. And sometimes, you know, when
- 4:14Speaker 2: you've gone into the shower and it's like Dale's putting
- 4:16Speaker 2: Harry down to bed, And the thought of having to
- 4:19Speaker 2: make noise to get a new one. So that is
- 4:21Speaker 2: the only time. We do have dedicated towels. Are they
- 4:23Speaker 2: different colors or what?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, they're sometimes different colors or you just put them
- 4:27Speaker 1: in different spots.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Rhys and I have the same colored towel, but he
- 4:30Speaker 2: will take his to his, like we call it his
- 4:32Speaker 2: dressing room. It's just a spare room where he throws
- 4:34Speaker 2: his clothes on the ground basically. He'll put his in
- 4:36Speaker 2: his room. And I'll put mine in the main bathroom.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And then before each shower, we just go and grab
- 4:40Speaker 2: our towels and take them into the ensuite. Oh, so
- 4:42Speaker 2: we just chuck ours over the shower.
- 4:44Speaker 1: No wonder it's not drying. Dale was having a go
- 4:46Speaker 1: at me the other day for using his towel. And
- 4:48Speaker 1: then I literally saw how he dried himself.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And I don't know if he was just doing it
- 4:52Speaker 2: for comedic effect, but he literally got the towel between
- 4:55Speaker 2: his like bum and was.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Like washing it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And he was like, see, this is why you shouldn't
- 5:00Speaker 2: be using my towel.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And I'm like, do you actually do that? And he's like, Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Isn't that how children do it? Isn't that how you
- 5:07Speaker 1: teach children to watch it?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Because when Steph said something about, oh, I don't want
- 5:11Speaker 2: Josh's bum germs on my face, I was like, I
- 5:14Speaker 2: got a flashback to this image. I was like, is
- 5:16Speaker 2: that something that men do? Is that how they- Maybe
- 5:18Speaker 2: I'm going to have to stop sharing the towel.
- 5:20Speaker 1: This is a bit of a distressing insight.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Well, Laura Henshaw actually ended up giving an update on
- 5:24Speaker 2: the towel situation because she got so much flack on social.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Media about it.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And she recounted this like stat from some Instagram. So
- 5:32Speaker 2: who knows if it's actually true, but how many germs
- 5:34Speaker 2: are actually on a towel and that you really should
- 5:37Speaker 2: be cleaning them much more often than I probably do. See,
- 5:39Speaker 2: the thing that I was more disturbed about was her
- 5:41Speaker 2: admission that she was sharing a toothbrush with her husband.
- 5:43Speaker 1: That was the most fucked part of it all.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Unbelievable.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And it's an electric toothbrush. So it's like, well, why
- 5:48Speaker 2: don't you just have different heads? She said that that
- 5:49Speaker 2: made it better. I don't think it made it any different.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think it makes it worse. Do you know what
- 5:52Speaker 1: the thing is?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Like she, I've heard her speak on a podcast before
- 5:55Speaker 2: about her getting grossed out by her husband. I think
- 5:58Speaker 2: they're about to have sex and she could smell tzatziki
- 6:00Speaker 2: on his breath or something. I mean, this is how
- 6:01Speaker 2: much they share. And I was like, thinking back to that,
- 6:04Speaker 2: I'm like, but you share a toothbrush with him. Yeah,
- 6:06Speaker 2: you would have tasted that garlicky tzatziki.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah, from everything I know about her, it didn't really
- 6:10Speaker 1: suit her personality. No, no, she's a clean freak. No,
- 6:12Speaker 1: she's not.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Steph Clare Smith called her out on the most recent
- 6:15Speaker 2: episode and said, oh, Laura, you don't even wash your
- 6:17Speaker 2: sex toys. And she's like, oh, yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 1: That came out months ago.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I know, but I've forgotten about like the sex toys
- 6:23Speaker 2: and the toothbrush and the towels.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Do you know what? They're airing all their dirty laundry again.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Actually, yeah. This is what they literally did when they
- 6:30Speaker 2: moved to Listener. They're like, oh, let's make this salacious
- 6:32Speaker 2: and talk about all these things. I saw Shameless Media
- 6:35Speaker 2: shared some stat that they'd grown their following by some
- 6:38Speaker 2: huge amount. I think it was 20,000 extra followers in
- 6:41Speaker 2: the space of a couple of weeks. And it was
- 6:43Speaker 2: something to do with how many views they'd got on
- 6:44Speaker 2: their videos. And it is clever because they are the
- 6:47Speaker 2: sort of conversation starters. That go off on TikTok, like
- 6:51Speaker 2: discussions about towels. I actually don't know if it will
- 6:54Speaker 2: result in long standing listeners. I think it's good short
- 6:58Speaker 2: form content, but maybe like it doesn't make you want
- 7:01Speaker 2: to rush to see the podcast because you've kind of
- 7:03Speaker 2: heard the punchline on it. I shouldn't laugh, but this
- 7:05Speaker 2: story has taken quite a turn. So Laura was forced
- 7:08Speaker 2: to eat a bit of humble pie just days after
- 7:11Speaker 2: this clip went viral on social media. So unfortunately, the
- 7:15Speaker 2: Henshaw household has had a gastro outbreak. And it's spread
- 7:19Speaker 2: quite rapidly due to the shared towels and toothbrush situation.
- 7:23Speaker 2: So Laura revealed her son has contracted gastro from his
- 7:26Speaker 2: first week and a half at daycare. And she uploaded
- 7:29Speaker 2: a reel which has since gone absolutely viral. It's had
- 7:31Speaker 2: over 500,000 views of her writing, the house is down
- 7:35Speaker 2: with gastro and I think I may now in fact
- 7:37Speaker 2: have to admit defeat. And she showed vision of her
- 7:40Speaker 2: shared towel and toothbrush. See, I have to eat some
- 7:44Speaker 2: humble pie now because in our subs episode, I got
- 7:47Speaker 2: asked who I think is the most inauthentic influencer or
- 7:49Speaker 2: something like that and I said Laura Henshaw only because
- 7:53Speaker 2: I think behind the scenes she has quite a funny
- 7:55Speaker 2: personality but it doesn't come out on the podcast because
- 7:58Speaker 2: she keeps dropping I'm a really funny person but I
- 8:00Speaker 2: think we're seeing a bit of her humour now.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I think Shameless is bringing it out.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I saw someone comment on the TikTok like I can
- 8:06Speaker 2: literally see the germs everywhere.
- 8:08Speaker 1: In this photo.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And it's so funny because I could too, I could
- 8:11Speaker 2: almost smell the house. I felt for her because my
- 8:16Speaker 2: house was struck down with gastro when it was my
- 8:19Speaker 2: son's second birthday and there's nothing worse. Ironically though, Laura
- 8:23Speaker 2: was asking her followers for tips to help deal with
- 8:26Speaker 2: the gastro. And it's so weird because it's literally coincided
- 8:29Speaker 2: with kick launching a hydration drink. And a lot of
- 8:31Speaker 2: people were suggesting hydrolat. Steph Claire Smith obviously went, oh fuck,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I've got to jump in here. And she goes, I
- 8:36Speaker 2: know of this really delicious hydration powder you should try.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Good marketing.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Well, was this gastro staged then?
- 8:43Speaker 1: Is that what? Has anyone jumped to that? It's very unauthentic.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I think it was staged.
- 8:47Speaker 5: I'm joking.
- 8:47Speaker 4: I think the thing people have an issue with, they
- 8:51Speaker 4: are spending so much time watching us and getting to
- 8:54Speaker 4: know us and they feel like they're really close to
- 8:55Speaker 4: us and they're our really good friend.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Would you lie to your really good friend and be like,
- 8:59Speaker 2: you should use this dildo, I love it? A heartbroken
- 9:02Speaker 2: Sky Wheatley has revealed her baby daddy, Lockie Waugh, is
- 9:05Speaker 2: in a new relationship. The former Big Brother star admitted
- 9:08Speaker 2: the news left her feeling replaced and questioning whether.
- 9:12Speaker 1: She was ever anything special. Now, so if this is
- 9:14Speaker 1: a bit of a backflip from a couple of weeks ago.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, just last month, we were reporting that Sky Wheatley
- 9:19Speaker 2: was surprised that her breakup didn't hurt more. And that
- 9:22Speaker 2: was after a follower asked her, if she was now
- 9:25Speaker 2: happier that she's single. Fast forward a week though, and
- 9:28Speaker 2: Sky Wheatley says that the breakup has shattered her self-worth
- 9:32Speaker 2: and she's been feeling so low that she can't move
- 9:34Speaker 2: and has been struggling to work. And this is because
- 9:37Speaker 2: she has recently found out, as you touched on Amy,
- 9:40Speaker 2: that Lockie has moved on. So she wrote on her
- 9:43Speaker 2: Instagram story, self-worth is actually on the floor going through
- 9:47Speaker 2: this breakup. Going to start using Insta as a personal diary.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I think I have so much trauma from my last
- 9:52Speaker 2: breakup that was unhealed. Got told information last night that
- 9:56Speaker 2: was pretty uncomfortable, but I think the rejection.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Hurts more than being rejected. being told they are with
- 10:01Speaker 1: someone else, to be honest.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I would love to know who told her, because obviously
- 10:05Speaker 2: it's someone that knows both her and Sky. Like, is
- 10:07Speaker 2: it a family member or Has someone told her to
- 10:10Speaker 2: be a bit vindictive and upset her?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Or could it have been one of her kids who
- 10:14Speaker 1: accidentally dropped something? Oh, God, how awkward.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I wonder how Lockie feels about this all being laid
- 10:19Speaker 2: out so publicly. I would love to know who he's
- 10:22Speaker 2: dating and how different she is to Sky. Does he
- 10:25Speaker 2: have a type or has he gone the total opposite?
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm guessing the total opposite.
- 10:29Speaker 2: It's interesting, though, because it was only a couple of
- 10:30Speaker 2: months ago that Sky was papped out on what looked
- 10:33Speaker 2: like a date with comedian Julian Wood's.
- 10:35Speaker 1: And didn't Lockie reach.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Out to us and sort of indicate that, you know,
- 10:38Speaker 2: a fair play to her?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Well, he was acting like he didn't care.
- 10:41Speaker 2: No, he wrote pop off girl. But if anything, to me,
- 10:43Speaker 2: that sounded like he was actually bothered by it. Because
- 10:45Speaker 2: if you're not bothered by it, you just go on,
- 10:46Speaker 2: you don't actually comment.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Am I bothered?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Face bothered? Oh, I ain't bothered. Maybe he saw this
- 10:51Speaker 1: as a green light to move on.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Going back to your comment about, I wonder if this
- 10:56Speaker 2: new woman in his life is similar to Sky. I
- 10:58Speaker 2: actually think that she could be because Sky made the
- 11:01Speaker 2: comment about how he's moved on with the next best thing.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So it sounds like maybe it's someone who's similar to her,
- 11:07Speaker 2: maybe in the influencer space as well.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Or could she be younger?
- 11:10Speaker 2: The next best thing makes it sound like maybe it
- 11:12Speaker 2: was someone that was in his life before. Also, do
- 11:15Speaker 2: you know what's fascinating? How she said that she feels rejected.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Do we think that she tried to rekindle things with Lockie?
- 11:21Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 11:23Speaker 2: By judging by her stories, I think that she's regretting
- 11:25Speaker 2: the breakup. I mean, she referenced not too long ago
- 11:28Speaker 2: that she was still hung up on him. And that
- 11:30Speaker 2: she always ran to him and obviously they keep breaking
- 11:33Speaker 2: up and getting back together. So maybe she thought that
- 11:35Speaker 2: was going to happen, but this is the reality check
- 11:38Speaker 2: that no, we're not getting back together. I wonder if
- 11:41Speaker 2: Sky is opening up and using her Instagram story as
- 11:44Speaker 2: this personal diary to Because it's actually genuinely therapeutic for
- 11:48Speaker 2: her to do so.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Or if she knows that.
- 11:50Speaker 2: This is good for her engagement and it kind of
- 11:52Speaker 2: moves people past the drink driving charges, you know, it's
- 11:55Speaker 2: something else for her to be talking about. I honestly
- 11:58Speaker 2: think it's just that she can't control herself because I
- 12:00Speaker 2: saw later on after she posted this that she was like, oh,
- 12:03Speaker 2: maybe I should have just kept it.
- 12:04Speaker 1: To close friends. Possibly.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I mean, I actually just hope that Lockie starts going
- 12:08Speaker 2: rogue too. Like bring back the sausages and sauna content.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Be messy on there. Post your new love interest. I'm
- 12:13Speaker 1: so intrigued.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It's interesting though, Influence Updates was reporting that Lockie was
- 12:17Speaker 2: seen liking a post of Pete Davidson, the one where
- 12:20Speaker 2: he was mocking influencers who do nothing and make $ 40
- 12:23Speaker 2: million a year.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So there was a bit of a dig there.
- 12:25Speaker 2: See, I think we're not going to see much of
- 12:27Speaker 2: him online. I actually think that the whole influencer lifestyle
- 12:31Speaker 2: put him off. Hmm. And he was never keen to
- 12:34Speaker 2: be in her videos.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But he's so funny, like without trying to be funny.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Well, the latest video he's posted is sort of a
- 12:41Speaker 2: workshop fit out video. He posts a lot with his sons.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I think he wants to make it clear that he
- 12:45Speaker 2: has them part time. It really seems like this breakup
- 12:48Speaker 2: with Lockie has stirred up some past trauma for Skye.
- 12:51Speaker 2: She wrote, I've never spoken about my breakup with my
- 12:53Speaker 2: ex before this lol, but it was so fucked. And
- 12:56Speaker 2: this is feeling like a similar experience. Same feelings of
- 12:59Speaker 2: rejection and being replaced. And I'm left feeling so used,
- 13:02Speaker 2: like I'm not anything special because they just move on
- 13:05Speaker 2: with the next best thing. I had to cast my
- 13:07Speaker 2: mind back to who she was dating before Lockie because
- 13:11Speaker 2: their relationship was such a whirlwind. They met off Tinder,
- 13:13Speaker 2: but they've actually been together for nearly, is it like
- 13:16Speaker 2: seven or eight years? And then I was like, it
- 13:18Speaker 2: was Cam because he was in.
- 13:20Speaker 1: A lot of her footage back in the day.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I reckon he's hating it because since the breakup with Lockie,
- 13:25Speaker 2: she's been divulging a lot of personal stories about him. So,
- 13:28Speaker 2: I mean, it wasn't wrong that she said she was
- 13:29Speaker 2: going to start using her Instagram as a personal diary
- 13:32Speaker 2: because last week she spoke on her story for 18 minutes,
- 13:37Speaker 2: shedding more details on her past relationship with Cam. And
- 13:41Speaker 2: she revealed that she and Cam were expecting a baby
- 13:43Speaker 2: together when she was 22 and that they planned to
- 13:46Speaker 2: move in together and were taking all of the steps
- 13:49Speaker 2: to become a family. But one night he went out,
- 13:52Speaker 2: presumably partying, and refused to answer any of her calls.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And she said, She tried to call him so many times,
- 13:59Speaker 2: but he wouldn't answer. And after that night, she never
- 14:02Speaker 2: spoke to him again. She packed up her stuff and
- 14:04Speaker 2: decided to get an abortion. This story sounds super familiar.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I think she's spoken about this before. A very sad story.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But why is she talking about Cam and not Lockie?
- 14:13Speaker 2: I think she actually got with Lockie quite soon after Cam.
- 14:17Speaker 2: So I'm wondering if she never had the time to
- 14:19Speaker 2: actually process the breakup properly.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And everything that went on. It sounds more like. the
- 14:24Speaker 1: latest stuff with Lockie is triggering her old feelings of
- 14:27Speaker 1: what happened between her and Cam.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Also maybe the insecurities, maybe it's not about them. It's
- 14:31Speaker 2: the fact that she's not feeling enough.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And feeling rejected.
- 14:35Speaker 2: It's so crazy to look at Sky because she's absolutely
- 14:38Speaker 2: stunning and she's got, you know, this crazy entertaining personality,
- 14:43Speaker 2: but behind it all is obviously a very insecure woman.
- 14:45Speaker 2: And you can even, you know, when she's, she's opened
- 14:48Speaker 2: up about how She's got really bad body dysmorphia and
- 14:51Speaker 2: you see all the surgery she goes through and it's
- 14:53Speaker 2: actually so sad.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It is really sad.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Well, during this 18-minute Instagram story, she also revealed more
- 15:00Speaker 2: information about the couple's plans for their house. So they have,
- 15:04Speaker 2: of course, been renovating an abandoned mansion for the past
- 15:06Speaker 2: nine years, which she's been documenting on her socials. And
- 15:09Speaker 2: she revealed that the initial plan when the couple broke
- 15:12Speaker 2: up was to rent out the house to tenants. But
- 15:14Speaker 2: that actually fell through because there was this massive list
- 15:17Speaker 2: of things that needed to be done to the house.
- 15:19Speaker 2: in order to make it fit for tenants that they
- 15:21Speaker 2: just couldn't get done. She confirmed that she's back living
- 15:24Speaker 2: at the house part-time, but she's moving between the mansion
- 15:27Speaker 2: and her mum's house.
- 15:28Speaker 1: So that sounds like the kids are there full-time and
- 15:30Speaker 1: Lockie and her are just swapping.
- 15:31Speaker 2: That would be so weird. Do you still share a
- 15:33Speaker 2: bedroom or like, you know? Oh, there's so many bedrooms there.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I don't think they're sharing a bedroom. No, no, no.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean, like, so they've got the master bedroom.
- 15:41Speaker 2: So when Sky's there half-time, does she sleep in the
- 15:43Speaker 2: bed and the other half-time he sleeps.
- 15:44Speaker 3: In the bed?
- 15:45Speaker 1: No, there'd be about four.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Freaking six other bedrooms i'm sure that they've just decided
- 15:48Speaker 2: one is skies and one is lucky it's a better
- 15:50Speaker 2: one i just can't believe they're putting in all this
- 15:52Speaker 2: effort to make this dream house you hear of this
- 15:55Speaker 2: happening a lot where people will do this massive extension
- 15:58Speaker 2: and then they break up because of the full stress
- 16:00Speaker 2: not good for your relationship is it i saw she
- 16:02Speaker 2: did a q a and someone said oh are you
- 16:03Speaker 2: gonna rent it out as an airbnb and she said
- 16:06Speaker 2: oh maybe that's a good idea i mean the house
- 16:08Speaker 2: would be great for photo shoots. It's clear that this
- 16:10Speaker 2: situation isn't going to work for her long-term because she
- 16:13Speaker 2: said that she's finding it super lonely and quite difficult
- 16:15Speaker 2: because now she doesn't have her license. She can't just
- 16:18Speaker 2: drive back and forth to get stuff that she's left
- 16:21Speaker 2: behind at her mom's place. So the logistics of it
- 16:23Speaker 2: are really tough. Well, she's currently holidaying in Bali alongside
- 16:27Speaker 2: Allure's ex-owner, Olivia McNeil. It seems like she's having a
- 16:31Speaker 2: pretty good time because I've been keeping an eye on
- 16:33Speaker 2: Olivia's Instagram story and God, She is ready to share
- 16:38Speaker 2: apparently her side of the story as an Instagram reel.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I'm waiting with bated breath for that.
- 16:43Speaker 2: But she also spoke about how Sky got home at
- 16:45Speaker 2: like 2am and woke her up and she's been out
- 16:47Speaker 2: partying and living her best life.
- 16:50Speaker 5: I have always said to myself, I want to live
- 16:53Speaker 5: in Paris.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Jaz Hand has sparked confusion after announcing she's moving to Paris,
- 16:59Speaker 2: only to later reveal she'll just be there for six weeks.
- 17:02Speaker 2: The popular jewelry designer is the latest influencer to tease
- 17:05Speaker 2: an overseas move, fueling speculation that the trend is becoming
- 17:09Speaker 2: a way to drive views and engagement. Amy, before we
- 17:12Speaker 2: dive into the story, can you get listeners up to
- 17:14Speaker 2: speed with who Jazz is? Yeah, so she is a
- 17:16Speaker 2: 32-year-old beauty and fashion influencer based on the Gold Coast.
- 17:20Speaker 2: And I would go as far as calling her a
- 17:23Speaker 2: new Aussie it girl because her popularity is soaring by
- 17:26Speaker 2: the day. So she first started out on YouTube doing
- 17:29Speaker 2: makeup tutorials and now she does a lot of lifestyle content.
- 17:33Speaker 2: She's closing in on 600,000 subscribers on YouTube and she's
- 17:37Speaker 2: got over 200,000 on Instagram. I mean, I have followed
- 17:41Speaker 2: her for quite a while and she's synonymous with a marcher.
- 17:44Speaker 2: She's also very well known for her jewelry brand, which
- 17:46Speaker 2: is called Jazz Handmade. It's incredibly popular and I think
- 17:49Speaker 2: people really love watching her life as a business owner
- 17:53Speaker 2: as well.
- 17:53Speaker 1: She's a very well-loved influencer.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I think part of the reason that she's back in
- 17:57Speaker 2: the zeitgeist is because she's single, because she's been a
- 18:00Speaker 2: very popular YouTuber for a long time. But everyone was
- 18:03Speaker 2: desperate to know what was going on with her and
- 18:05Speaker 2: her boyfriend, Peter Lizzie, back in December last year.
- 18:08Speaker 1: People were like watching.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Her Instagram stories and her YouTube video trying to work
- 18:13Speaker 2: out like what was going on. People noticed she wasn't
- 18:15Speaker 2: wearing her necklace with a P on it anymore.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yeah, because it was so obvious to her followers that
- 18:18Speaker 1: they'd broken up. It was one of those awkward things
- 18:20Speaker 1: where the influencer just doesn't acknowledge it. Like they're literally
- 18:23Speaker 1: moving apartments. Well, that's the thing.
- 18:25Speaker 2: He actually ended up moving back to Perth and everyone's like, well,
- 18:29Speaker 2: he's not even in the same state as you.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Do you know why I think Jaz Hand is so popular?
- 18:33Speaker 1: It's because.
- 18:34Speaker 2: She's got a really good friendship with another influencer called
- 18:37Speaker 2: Riley Hemson, who also runs a super popular business, Remy
- 18:40Speaker 2: by Riley. So I think a lot of people look
- 18:43Speaker 2: up to them because not only are they killing it
- 18:45Speaker 2: in the influencer space, but they both have these super
- 18:47Speaker 2: successful businesses. They're also really relatable yet successful.
- 18:50Speaker 1: There's something like you could imagine being friends with them.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I think the reason also people are getting around Jazz
- 18:55Speaker 2: at the moment is because she's single in her 30s
- 18:58Speaker 2: and we don't often see people living their best life
- 19:00Speaker 2: and going and chasing their dreams. I mean, She actually
- 19:03Speaker 2: never outlined why she split up with Peter, but a
- 19:06Speaker 2: lot of fans were speculating it was because they had
- 19:09Speaker 2: really different priorities for the future because Peter wanted to
- 19:12Speaker 2: settle down apparently and get married and have kids, but
- 19:15Speaker 2: Jazz wanted to focus on traveling, which brings us to
- 19:18Speaker 2: her Paris move.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So how did this all come about?
- 19:20Speaker 2: Well, she uploaded a YouTube video entitled, So I'm Moving
- 19:24Speaker 2: to Paris, which people immediately wanted to click on. Like
- 19:27Speaker 2: this was the best clickbait heading you could have asked for.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Because it's not just like, I'm moving to the US
- 19:33Speaker 2: so I can make the most of the TikTok creator fund.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Like Paris, when you hear Paris, you're like, oh, Emily
- 19:38Speaker 2: in Paris. Like it sounds so cool. Well, people don't
- 19:41Speaker 2: generally just move to Paris either from Australia.
- 19:43Speaker 1: It's like I might move to New Zealand or Bali.
- 19:45Speaker 4: But.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Well, in the vlog, she revealed that she was heading
- 19:49Speaker 2: over to Paris for fashion week with L'Oreal, but would
- 19:51Speaker 2: be extending the trip.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Let's take a listen to what she said. Basically, I'm
- 19:56Speaker 1: off to my favorite city in the whole world. Take
- 20:00Speaker 1: a guess.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Paris.
- 20:02Speaker 5: And I was invited to go over there with a.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Brand, which is like unreal firstly it's one of my
- 20:08Speaker 3: favorite brands and the fact that they want to take
- 20:14Speaker 3: me to paris for an event is wild to me
- 20:18Speaker 3: um and i have always said to myself i want
- 20:22Speaker 3: to live in paris so yeah i am moving to
- 20:26Speaker 3: paris it is only for a short amount of time
- 20:28Speaker 3: though so i wouldn't i mean moving is A loose term,
- 20:33Speaker 3: but I still want to be like, I kind of
- 20:36Speaker 3: want to cosplay like living there.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Like I'll have my own apartment. Look, to be fair,
- 20:41Speaker 2: she did say moving is a loose term, but all
- 20:44Speaker 2: over her TikTok, she has been hyping up the fact
- 20:46Speaker 2: that she's moving to Paris. On her Instagram, she's even
- 20:49Speaker 2: changed in her bio and put the little pin location
- 20:52Speaker 2: as Paris.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Well, that's because it's a great hook.
- 20:54Speaker 2: As we said, like as soon as you say I'm
- 20:55Speaker 2: moving to Paris, you're thinking Emily in Paris, you think
- 20:58Speaker 2: this is going to be so glamorous.
- 20:59Speaker 4: I agree.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Would like to live vicariously through you as you moved
- 21:03Speaker 2: to Paris. Well, she went on to say that ideally
- 21:05Speaker 2: she would have liked to be there for at least
- 21:07Speaker 2: three months, but that's not going to be possible with
- 21:09Speaker 2: her work commitments.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Let's take a listen.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Ideally, I probably would want to stay for at least
- 21:16Speaker 5: three months, but just for the timing of this year,
- 21:20Speaker 5: it's just not going to work because November and December
- 21:23Speaker 5: are our busiest periods at JHM and I just need
- 21:26Speaker 5: to be here.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Um, but when this.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Opportunity came up with fashion week and this.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Brand, I was like, you know what?
- 21:33Speaker 5: I'm going to extend for as long as I can.
- 21:37Speaker 5: And that's what I'm doing. Like, I'm literally going to
- 21:41Speaker 5: be living in Paris. I'm going to find a Pilates
- 21:43Speaker 5: studio or maybe like a gym that does like group
- 21:45Speaker 5: fitness classes.
- 21:47Speaker 1: To me, six weeks isn't moving to Paris. That's a holiday.
- 21:50Speaker 2: It reminds me of when Saffron Barker said she was
- 21:52Speaker 2: moving to the US and I think she was there
- 21:53Speaker 2: for about five weeks.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Yeah, she was there for an acting gig. Like it
- 21:56Speaker 1: wasn't moving. It's the perfect clickbait. I mean, to me,
- 21:59Speaker 1: it sounds like she's.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Just taking advantage of the fact that L'Oreal is paying
- 22:03Speaker 2: for her flight over there and she may as well
- 22:05Speaker 2: extend the trip. It's like the people that change their
- 22:07Speaker 2: location to Bali when they go on holiday. You're like, babe,
- 22:10Speaker 2: you're there for 10 days. Well, she's really branding it
- 22:12Speaker 2: well though because people are calling this jazz in Paris
- 22:15Speaker 2: and she's saying that Paris is her next chapter. I mean,
- 22:18Speaker 2: the majority of her followers were really excited for her
- 22:21Speaker 2: about this move. One follower wrote, I actually said yay
- 22:24Speaker 2: out loud hearing you were going to Paris. Seeing a
- 22:26Speaker 2: woman in her 30s break out of her comfort zone
- 22:28Speaker 2: and start living her dream life is so refreshing. Whilst
- 22:32Speaker 2: another said, Jazz in her Paris era, here for it. Well,
- 22:35Speaker 2: for those followers who didn't watch the full YouTube, they
- 22:37Speaker 2: were very concerned about what this meant for Jazz's business,
- 22:39Speaker 2: which is A fair enough question, because she has an
- 22:42Speaker 2: office full of people. Yeah, that's why I was initially
- 22:45Speaker 2: confused as to why she'd want people to think she'd
- 22:47Speaker 2: moved to Paris, because it does leave question marks over
- 22:49Speaker 2: her business. Yeah, but it's not like she's a one-man band. Like,
- 22:51Speaker 2: she's had this business for years, and as you said, like, she...
- 22:54Speaker 2: you know, post a lot about it on TikTok. She's
- 22:56Speaker 2: clearly got staff there. I actually think if she had
- 22:58Speaker 2: moved to Paris, it could have potentially impacted her business
- 23:01Speaker 2: because she is the face of it. And if you're
- 23:04Speaker 2: in Australia wanting to buy her brand, you kind of
- 23:07Speaker 2: want to resonate with her. Like if she's suddenly in Paris,
- 23:10Speaker 2: it's just not the same.
- 23:11Speaker 5: Really?
- 23:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I think it would be great for her brand. Imagine
- 23:13Speaker 2: the photo shoots she could do over there. And bring
- 23:15Speaker 2: out a collection that would inspire the Paris. But her
- 23:17Speaker 2: core demographic would be in Australia.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but people want to see something different.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And that's why people are actually really engaging in her
- 23:23Speaker 2: content because they want to see her living her best
- 23:25Speaker 2: life in Paris.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I mean, not everyone was happy though.
- 23:27Speaker 2: One follower wrote into Influencer Update saying, Jaz Hand telling
- 23:32Speaker 2: everyone she's moving to Paris when she's just holidaying there
- 23:34Speaker 2: for a few weeks is cringe. Everything is for content
- 23:37Speaker 2: with her. And I mean, she definitely has been pumping
- 23:40Speaker 2: out the Paris content. To prep for this story, I
- 23:42Speaker 2: sat through two one-hour Paris vlogs.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I mean, I did put it in fast forward. She's
- 23:46Speaker 1: done her homework.
- 23:47Speaker 2: But I mean, she showed herself moving into the apartment
- 23:50Speaker 2: where she's going to be living for six weeks.
- 23:52Speaker 1: She didn't do a.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Full tour for safety reasons, which I respect. She's a
- 23:55Speaker 2: woman in her 30s. She's actually aware that it's not
- 23:57Speaker 2: safe to put that.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Content out online. Is that after Kim Kardashian got robbed
- 24:00Speaker 1: in Paris?
- 24:00Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 24:01Speaker 2: It's clear in order to do Paris properly, you've got
- 24:03Speaker 2: to have money. And she clearly does because the view
- 24:06Speaker 2: out her window looked insane. And she said that she
- 24:08Speaker 2: feels like she's living in a movie. And it's something
- 24:10Speaker 2: that she's wanted to do for so long. She added
- 24:13Speaker 2: that she's the happiest she's been in her whole life.
- 24:15Speaker 2: And this is why people are getting around it. They're
- 24:17Speaker 2: so stoked for her. As you said, Amy, she's the
- 24:19Speaker 2: matcha queen. All she's been doing in Paris is literally
- 24:22Speaker 2: drinking matcha every day. She's been getting tooth jewels, shopping,
- 24:25Speaker 2: hanging out with Sofa Dover. Well, I think she's showing
- 24:28Speaker 2: this really good side of Paris because I feel like
- 24:31Speaker 2: you either love or hate Paris. And when I went there,
- 24:35Speaker 2: I was worried about it because I'd heard so many
- 24:37Speaker 2: negative things about pickpocketers.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And I wish I'd stayed longer because I had such
- 24:41Speaker 1: a nice time. Well, it looks absolutely beautiful.
- 24:43Speaker 2: It's funny you mentioned pickpocketers because Sofa Dofa had this
- 24:47Speaker 2: really scary incident where she was walking on, they'd been
- 24:49Speaker 2: to the shops and she said, I.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Feel really light. What's going on?
- 24:52Speaker 2: She realized that she left her Chanel handbag in one
- 24:55Speaker 2: of the change rooms and they'd been to four shops since.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Somehow nobody took it.
- 25:01Speaker 2: But it's quite funny because everyone's saying, oh my God,
- 25:03Speaker 2: Sofa Dofa and Jazz Hand, this is the duo that
- 25:07Speaker 2: we didn't know we needed because they are the best
- 25:10Speaker 2: of friends, even though there's quite a big age gap.
- 25:11Speaker 2: There was one part in Jazz Hand's vlogs where she
- 25:15Speaker 2: popped by with a marcher for Jazz. And then in
- 25:17Speaker 2: the next scene, she's literally helping Jazz fake tan her back.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I actually loved that there was a snippet that Influencer
- 25:23Speaker 2: Updates shared from Jazz's vlog, and it was them discussing...
- 25:27Speaker 2: her take on what they wore to Fashion Week.
- 25:29Speaker 1: It was absolutely hilarious.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I loved how Sofa Dover's like, she's got our back.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Come on, Amber. It was just bizarre to actually see
- 25:36Speaker 1: them consuming the content about themselves.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Just back to Jazz's move. This isn't an isolated thing.
- 25:41Speaker 2: This is a social media trend. We're seeing a lot
- 25:43Speaker 2: of influencers soft launching.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Moves that aren't actually a move. Yeah, that aren't actually happening.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I think it plays into social media rewarding these series
- 25:54Speaker 2: like moving series and all that kind of thing so
- 25:57Speaker 2: jazz just saying oh i'm going for a six-week holiday
- 25:59Speaker 2: to paris it's hardly as enticing as i'm moving to
- 26:02Speaker 2: paris yeah i mean it instantly generates excitement and it
- 26:05Speaker 2: urges followers to want to tune into the moving series
- 26:08Speaker 2: it's a much better story arc that makes you want
- 26:10Speaker 2: to tune in i also wonder if this is a
- 26:12Speaker 2: bit of a trial run for her it seems like
- 26:14Speaker 2: she genuinely wants to experience paris and rather than committing
- 26:18Speaker 2: to this permanent move, she's going to test it out
- 26:20Speaker 2: and see if she could live there and could run
- 26:21Speaker 2: her business there. The only concern is it seems kind
- 26:24Speaker 2: of disingenuous if you tell your followers that you're moving
- 26:26Speaker 2: to Paris and then you're suddenly back and everyone's.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Like, wait, wait a sec, was she telling the truth?
- 26:31Speaker 2: And also then it seems like you haven't really had
- 26:33Speaker 2: a good time there. I do think it kind of
- 26:36Speaker 2: errs on the side of danger and losing sort of
- 26:38Speaker 2: trust with your audience. I mean, also, it's not that revolutionary.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Like most influencers pack up their bag and go to
- 26:44Speaker 2: Europe for like six weeks.
- 26:45Speaker 1: During the winter. Well, I think that's all.
- 26:47Speaker 2: We've got time for today. Thank you so much for
