Transcript
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: time for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: And here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, faithful?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: It is absolutely incredible to be with you guys today.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: And man, the practice squad for the 49ers, 2026 season is starting to come to fruition.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: There are 17 spots because the International Player Pathway, the 49ers have filled 13 of those, which is huge.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to be going over some of the roster moves or lack there of waiver claims 49ers got no waiver claims process.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: But the practice squad's coming to fruition, some good, some bad, some ugly, some that will make you kind of mad, at least made me mad.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: Probably the one player that I wanted back got claims.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Two players got claimed from the 49ers by other teams that were let go.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hope you to get back on the proud squad.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: They did not get them back.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: We'll detail that as well.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,709, the 49er's rush podcast.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: Have to say thank you to our executive producers, Cory Robbins, David Gill, 49er's George 365 Williamson Claire, and
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: As always, if you're watching the live show, we have time for your question.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: So make sure we get those in the chat today.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a lot of areas that we can go.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: We can talk about the roster, the strengths, the weaknesses.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: We have some new number changes.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Some one of a George Kittle update, as he is supposed to take part.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: It full-patted practice today, including team contact.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: That is paramount for the George Kittle timeline.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: Is he going to be going to Australia in two days?
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: Is he not?
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: How is his body going to respond?
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, two practices.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of determined what happens with George Kittle.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: Do you just little practice two days and see how we response, keep him at home?
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that's what they do.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to get into those.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Hashtag CC the countdown crew coming in strong J.E.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Phillips was first today.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you Maria.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: What's up.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got back a lot of potential.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: So let's dive through the names quickly.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'd like to spend a little bit more time on what each one of these moves means.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: So that way we could just kind of.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: dive through exactly who is back with the 49ers roster.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: So they made 13 practice quad additions, okay?
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: O'Bowke and Rockwell, Caderal Hodge, Khalil Teakens, Wesley Grimes, sincere McCormick, Will Pauline, Jalen Grant, Drake Nugent, Jalen Strowman, Jacob Robertson, Sebastian Valdez, and Long Sneper, John Weeks in the International Pathway Program.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Isaac Alarkon has returned as well.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: So 13 players, there are still four open spots.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: on the 49ers roster.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Coralist waitmen, not one of the players, the punner brought back on to the practice squad as of now.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: And again, as of now, this is 103 p.m. Pacific time.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: No moves to IR, which has not, doesn't have to be reported yet.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: So there's still a little bit of the roster funny business that needs to take part.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, moving forward.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is very important
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: A player that gets put on IR moving forward has to miss at least four games.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: The training camp IR rules, pup rules are now expired.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: So any player that goes on IR has to miss at least four games, but can miss more.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: So there are going to be more roster moves where players get moved to IR, and some that won't be activated.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if a player, let's say Nick Martin gets put on IR, he could stay there for the remainder of the season.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to pre-determine that like you did with the two Austin pleasants and Christian Kirk, right?
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: You had to say in delineate, these two guys will be activated eventually.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: And that's two of your eight.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now remember, each NFL team gets eight players that are designated to return at some point during the season.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers have already used two of those.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now they're down to six, right?
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Christian Kirk and Austin Pleasant's already had to do that.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: Mikhail Williams on Pup, he will count against one of those.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're down to five.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: numbers get tight pretty damn quick considering you're not even in week one of the NFL season and you already have three kind of those designated return you're down to five and then you get one additional one for the playoffs.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: So understand, you know, if you do put Nick Martin, a Vaderian low, there's a lot of other players, you know, that you can be Luke Gifford.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: some of these guys are going to be yeah we're going to put you on IR, but even if you get healthy, does not mean we're going to bring you back.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: We will have to have a need for you to come back.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, you know, kind of like the running back, Isaac Grinto, who's a part of that pup thing as well.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like Isaac Grinto could be 100% healthy and the 49 probably will not activate him as one of those five return from IR spots.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: not as long as the ones ahead of them, Caleb Black, Jordan James, Christian Kaffrey, stay healthy.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: So just because the players on pup are I are moving forward, that they don't have to bring them back.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: The only two that they have to bring back are Austin Pleasants in Christian Kirk the White receiver.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here is the main negatives.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we gotta do it.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Bryson Esen gets claimed to relative junior gets claimed.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Bryson Esen was claimed by the Chiefs and to relative junior was claimed by the Raiders.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Those players are now on their 53-man roster.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Meaning the 49ers have lost them.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: They are gone.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: He got hate it and you know my biggest roster critique if you watch yesterday showing the 53-man and I talked about this the weekly
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I would get rid of Jordan walkins.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm more concerned about losing out on price in the 49ers chose differently.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: And the whole ball he says, ah, you're hope you're gonna sneak him back.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: You hope you're gonna sneak him back.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: This was the one that was just like, hmm, and I know it's across positional reference, but man, we went over this.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, even in our Zoom Hangout on the 49ers rush.com, we were like, who would you rather keep price in Eastern or Jordan walkins?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: unanimous Bryson Eason, but Ninerson, go that way.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so now you have Jordan Walker still on the team.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: Bryson Eason is gone.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: That one hurts.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: The railroad or junior put up too much good tape.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of shocked that they moved on from him at this stage.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: But the numbers just didn't work and they feel confident with their corner.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: And really what I took from the
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Ephesians price stock injuries not to severe.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Nate Hobbs, he's again, one of those guys that could go on IR.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't really practiced.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you lost real loot or junior.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's a bummer.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you lost price in these and that's a bigger bummer.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: But the positives, well, you got to keep Sebastian Valtis, which a lot of people had Sebastian Valtez over price in these.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I did not.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: But, yeah, you got, you got C-Bass back to the practice squad.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody in the NFL wanted him to take up a roster spot, traits matter, traits matter, traits matter, traits matter.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: Sebastian Veldez just doesn't have a, but I am pumped.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I am with you, Maria, really upset at just the potential of losing Bryce and Ethan, who could be a player.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: He was so damn consistent.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: Nah, me and, yeah.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: at this.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Steven, you better have weight on the episode on the show for episode 1730.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: 72, 38.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's somebody clipped that, please.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was terrible.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so sorry, everybody heard that, but dude, I listed this on this morning.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we'll get there.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: How do we feel about Patterson?
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: The Jared Patterson trade has been finalized.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mind it one because of what you gave up.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: You gave up nothing.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: You gave up a seventh round pick for a guy with the experience.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: I really wanted the 49ers to take part in some of those trades to the opposite way where they collect a seventh or a sixth rounder for some of the back-end roster guys.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: They did not.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like that was a little bit of a bummer.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: But Jared Patterson, like, yeah.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it's it's increasing the floor of offensive line play for the 49ers is he going to be the left guard is he just going to be the back up utility, you know, player for the 49ers will see does he just slide into that Brett tough role, which he's done for the year now for the 49ers he played with other somebody else, but not the 49ers I like Patterson, I personally I'm higher on Connor Colby than most.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think his consistency just he improved each in every single game of the preseason and you know the I just started breaking down tape early this morning first quarters up in process I'll get the second quarter process later today, but if you want to go watch that like Connor Colby was awesome like no negative place.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: in the first quarter.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that's playing against the starter.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing against Adam Butler, who's Super Bowl champion, you know, NFL, pedigree, whatever else.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Not only that Connor Colby had like the highest pass blocking grade of anybody that played for either team, I thought Connor Colby looked good.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the upside of Carver Willis and the run game is badass.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to keep talking about that.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Jared Patterson, what does he bring?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: Jared Patterson,
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: stud.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he does.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: He keeps your quarterback upright.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: He keeps your quarterback clean.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: Jared Patterson hurts your run game.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a good run game blocker.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: So you're thinking a little bit more Jake Brindle style play.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Now, not faulting Jared Patterson for watching players are quitting early.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: But like Jake Brindle is so damn good in past pro.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: Major liability in the run game.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's the type of player Jared Patterson is in Carver Willis's
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: elite run game.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, got Matt Jones hit twice in the first quarter.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you go with Carver Willis, Brock Party's going to take hits.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now the good news, Brock Party can mitigate a lot of that pressure.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of the best in, you know, pressure to sacrate in the NFL.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: You can get pressures on Brock Party, but he's just a little magician back there side step in moving,
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe the Carver Willis Brock Perti comparison is huge.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: That that pair works.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis Mac Jones does not work.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: He is too immobile and he got hit twice because Carver Willis was out there in past row.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Can't do that.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Brock Perti, a little bit better.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: I would go Connor Colby and rotate, but at worst, Jared Patterson's gonna be a backup center and maybe backup all three of the interior spots.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Connor Colby and
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if he passes one of those, that you could get one of those roster spots, but I want to keep them both, I think the the move that Connor Colby has made from his seven starts last year, which were a mess to what he's put on tape throughout the preseason shows drastic improvement, does that mean he's starter level player currently.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: He is not, but way more consistent and elevated play from what we saw last year.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: So the growth is there.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: The growth is there, and in all three preseason games, we got to see Connor Colby play against starters.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: He'll do his own.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Again, not a good, not a plus level starter.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: Probably not even an average starter, right?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: There's 32 starting left cards in the NFL.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not putting Jared Patterson, Connor Colby, or Carver Willis close to 16, right?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's average at 16, 17, number out of 32.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Neither one of none of those three are there.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: I want Connor Colby to start.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: I really want him to rotate, but if Patterson goes in and wins that job, there we go.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: Cowardship though.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: So glad Looter is gone.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Very sad Eason is a chief.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: It hurts a little bit more when you see who claims them, right?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, Bryson, he's got claim.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: That sucks.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: By the chiefs?
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: That makes anyone worse?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: We hate the chiefs.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: We hate the chiefs.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: We hate the chiefs.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was time for Lunar to go.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's good for him.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to get playing time for the Raiders.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: He really, really is.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right here, yeah, let's dive through.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go through in detail.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: some of these practice squad players right here Maria sincere McCormick was a nice move you know the 49ers for the longest time kept four running backs plus Kyle used check five was the number I think the 49ers got to be a little creative and clever with only keeping three because the health of christian McAfrey Jordan James and Katelyn Black they're all fully practicing currently
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: So you've got three guys, and I would argue, the number two and number three, Georgia James and Caleb Black, however you situate those or sort those out.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: way more talented way more further along than the two and three running backs that you've had you remember this part last year you had to go trade right draft capital for a one year rental and Brian Robinson still didn't use him but like you had to because it was just too bad.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan James got hurt Isaac Rindo's Isaac Rindo you hope one of those two guys stepped up and neither were healthy neither were very good so you couldn't do it.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: But now where Jordan James is, now where Katelyn Black is, you have this nice depth quality depth.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: And now you get sincere McCormick back as well on the practice squad.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because he operated the offense very well.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: Pass pro great.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Pass receptions.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Running where you wanted good.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Special teams.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting this kind of jack of all trades veteran running pack that you can trust on the practice squad.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: And if there is an injury,
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: to any of the three running backs, Christian McAfrey, Jordan James, Caitlin Black, guess what?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a severe requirement.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: Come on down.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: You're now on the active squad, or you could elevate him, because he knows the playbook.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: He knows the scheme.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's taken reps with Brock Perty, Matt Jones, and Curtis Rork.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's a really nice, just security, break glass in case of emergency, siding to the practice squad, and like once certain players get back, like I would not be shocked.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: If sincere McCormick is promoted to the active roster, you know, you get those two standard elevations, just because of what he does on special teams, special teams is paramount.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Four of ours could have a top five special teams group.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: Man, all three running bass could be healthy and still promote sincere McCormick because he'll be on every single special team's group.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: Making an impact.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: I really like this sincere McCormick move.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad that you got him.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: I would've been happy if they got Cleo Herbert back.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: I would be happy if they got some air white back, which he got kept on, you know, and that trade.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, it's here McCormick coming back is huge.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Maria, Coreless Whiteman will be in soon.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to be one of the corresponding moves.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: When a player gets put on IR, that's going to open up that spot for Coreless Whiteman.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: He will be back.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: If Coreless Whiteman does not return to the 49ers, John Chapman is going to be upset.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: I am in love with this punner.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in love with them.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: I love quality punters.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Coralist wait man is a quality punter with great hang time, I'm a big fan.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: He better come back.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not going to say riot.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: I am going to be beyond perturbed.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be perturbed.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right here at the last hero, we kept C.J.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: West Alford Collins over Bryson, Ethan, even though he looked better than them ridiculous traits over take man.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about this so many times, traits.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: draft pedigree matter in the NFL.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I 100% 100 out of 100 times what the kept CJ West and Alfred Collins over price in East and yes, I would have.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now I would have kept price in East and over shoot, man.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: I, let's go through this.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: I would have kept price in East and over Jordan Walkins.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I would have kept him over Braden.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: Willis, maybe that one's a little bit tougher.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: I would have kept him over in Rikai Cruz.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: I would have kept him over.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, right there, Nate Hobbes, right?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would have kept them over him as well.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm a Bryson East guy.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: The traits are not there with Bryson East and they're not.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now he got claimed in the tape is good.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: But um, yeah, Maria right here.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Nate Hobbes going to IR.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: I assume Nick Martin.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm curious about agree.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Agreed.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right here.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Slick J. C. Do you think the $40 are trading for a big
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, the trades that were going to happen happened, and this is what they do every single year.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: They do pennies for pennies trades.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: They trade for, you know, back up depth pieces.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: This is what they do.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: They want to see what they have in house.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: The big trades in the Kyle Shanahan era take place at the start of free agency.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: Or at the trade deadline.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: And this is something that, you know, I stayed through and I can, I could get up here and make a video the 49ers should trade for and insert big name here and outline that trade.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get a lot of clicks.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the way they operate.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the way they operate.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: They want to see what they have.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: They want to see where the trajectory of the season is going.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at last year, last year at the trade deadline, what kind of trades do they do?
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: Penny for Penny's trades, small trades, small ball trades for debt, right?
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: No big swings, why?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the shoot.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have Nick Bosa, you didn't have McElwam, didn't have Fred Warner, the defense was a mess.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the worst wide receiver core almost in the NFL, like it didn't make sense.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Now you go back to 2019, they have one of the best defenses in the NFL.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, big time swing trades.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: You go back to 2020.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: Two was 2022 the first year of Christian McCaffrey.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it was.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make sure I get this right.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: because I would hate to mess this up.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 2022, the 49ers go and trade everything, right?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: For Christian McAfrey, well, they were foreign for at that point, but it was the by week, but they liked the team.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: They had the number one finishing defense, a top five offense, like,
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: They went on a freaking spree.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: They were close.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: They were close.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: They were somewhat healthy, like they went on this day.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the 49ers, and then 2023, got the Chase Young Trade, you've got to see where they're at.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers make it a huge home run type trade right now.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: Not happening.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, and again, that's not based off of any inside information.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want inside information ever.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's based off of the, what have they done?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: What is the standard operating procedure of Kyle Shett and the 49ers every single year?
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: This ain't the time.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: This is not the time to figure out, let's swing for the fences.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get through a chunk of the season.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: Reassess, see some of these guys were right.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: Can't see Jay West or Alfred calms, blossom.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: Kit, Kit, Kit, that happened is dissonstribling as advertised.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: Is the offensive line going to be able to hold up to the point that the offense can function?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: Can the past rush take a step up from being the worst in the NFL last year?
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: If some of those questions come out positive responses, then it's time to open the checkbook and swing for the fences.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: If not, you get some major injuries
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: I do not expect the 49ers to swing big.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: So we are yet to be determined.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: And this is kind of the way in which Kyle Shanahan operates.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's wait and see.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what we got.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: Let's use the ingredients.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: We have a simple.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: This is a quality 53 man roster.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: You do have to understand you're in the toughest division in the NFL.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, C.Ox are freaking, yeah, whatever.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then you look even worse.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: The Rams are freaking just adding Hall of Famers left and right.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: You got to see where you are.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: Where they are now?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: I do not expect at all the 49ers to go and make a big trade.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: I I just do not see it.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's in the cards.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I really really don't.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now Man the first game the Aaron Donald signing only swung the opening line the 49ers were three and a half point underdogs now they're four point underdogs
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: Um, against Iran.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: So it's something to take in place, you know, keep watching at some point this week.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: We will be putting our season long bets up.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's on the 49ers rush.com and our Patreon page.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: What's, you know, we post our bets every single week.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: But we do one major season long bets where we, you know,
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: make bets on making the playoffs not and, you know, defense player the year and all those things.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: So stay tuned for that this week, but if you're going to bet, you've got to bet at one place and that's mybookie.hu's promo code 49ers.

- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: With the Patriots in Seattle for the NFL kickoff my bookie is asking one simple question will the Seahawks raise the banner that night?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Of course they will.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're the defending chances their home opener, the entire game is designed to bound raising the banner and they've already talked about doing it that night.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting plus money odds right now on mybookie.ag.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: You can pay to say yes.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's all you got to do.

- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be a lot more all season long and you should be betting with us.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: We post our weekly bets over at the 49ers rush.com in our Patreon page.

- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: Check this out from Dallas.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Cal appreciate the super chat.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for coming in strong.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: He says the Falcons waves that Harrison defense of lineman.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: Could you see Rahim going to get one of his guys if he falls, which is unlikely.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean,
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't wave them initially and he was in the second round of waves, right?
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: So now the 49ers who had no waiver claims process does not mean they didn't submit a waiver claim, they were 27th and like it again, like waiver claims don't work.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: the way of the NFL draft, where the first team gets to pick one, second team gets to pick one, no.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like the Dolphins claim seven players on their 53 over 15% of the roster was recycled yesterday, or today.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, Zach Harrison, you know, former third round pick, Edge Player,
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's a big old boy, you can kind of do a little bit of everything kind of built like a key on white one of those hybrid guys that you play detail defense event is got eight and a half sacks and three years not bad not a starter just a rotational guy, but yeah he's been with Rahim Morris his entire career.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't mind that now sticking to that.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: My number one, like, dude, agbo-coronquo gets brought back.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: Because that gives you your fifth defensive end, which I think is really, really important.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so the fact that he is there, if I had to bet, agbo-coronquo was almost 100% locked to get elevated week one.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the guy.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, you go into week one and you're going to have Nick Bosa, key on wider your starters, you got Samo, Ramello, high in Ocaronquo as your three rotational pieces behind your starters.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Bosa is probably going to get a pretty heavy snap share week one, probably all the way until Miguel Williams comes back.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, boasts has got to play a ridiculous amount of snaps and then everybody else rotates.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think Keon White and Sam Oak get the majority of the snaps after that.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then Oakburg or Rockwell and Ramello Heights kind of just get brought in when you need help.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: A Ramello Heights hopefully just situational past Russia only.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: 10 to 15 snaps, Oakwell and Coronto 10 to 15 snaps and special teams.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's what the defensive end position looks like.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now,
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're hoping you could get somebody else, but they haven't claimed any other defensive events.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: They're still four spots open on the practice squad, and there will be more spots, you know, once you put one, two, three players on IR, that's going to vacate open three spots as well.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: But Oakbook, Ronquill, I fully expect to be in uniform dress playing week one against the Rams.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: I fully expect to be out there week two.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's expecting to be out there week three, and you might have to put him on the active roster by that point, but the 49ers have made it very clear.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is the guy.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: He was the first practice squad like announced.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of those veteran handshake deals.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: O-book, or uncle will be suited up for the 49ers week one.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Just you can write that in Sharpie.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot go into a game with only 4 defensive ends.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't do that.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: O-book, or uncle is going to be out there playing.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: We got Royale to the chat table.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Gil, appreciate you man.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: Did Brock party make the roster he did?
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: Shocker.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: I remember the debates.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Do you keep Brock party number three or Nate subfilled with the $2 million guarantee?
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, how times have changed.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: Brock parties, the freaking me and dude.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: Of all known like this how will the show with Larry go now Luther is right.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he loved her to real looter And I would say he was right But yeah, he loves his guys Larry worth it not added back.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the head scratchers.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's not on the practice while he did not get claimed by anybody I kept saying nobody's going to claim Larry worth.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see that he has not been claimed, but he has not been signed back by the forehars You look and elsewhere to the miners even want a bet
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: We all have misses, I had my misses.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think Jordan Walkins was gonna be on the 53.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: Larry's a huge Jordan Walkins guy.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: Wednesday's gonna be a fun conversation.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, stay tuned for that.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, no.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Larry.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's the freaking man.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's the man.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: All look at this.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Billy's putting the entire practice squad in the chat.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: You are the freaking man.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, now let's go to my second practice squad player that I think has a lot to do with the 49er's plans week one.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: Why receiver caderal hodge?
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: Special teams, special teams, special teams.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I'm going to double triple down on my Jordan Walk in state.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jordan Walk is going to be a healthy scratch for the majority of the season.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: If there's not an injured wide receiver, just because he's such a poor special teams player, you can't be back into the roster player that sucks at special teams.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's atrocious, kick off return terrible, punt return terrible, can't block, kick off terrible.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: like just no, I could narrow-hodge, great at all those things, not as a returner, but as a gunner, as a gunner protector, as a kickoff cover guy, as a kickoff return blocker, he does it all.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: He does it all.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: He can play all three wide receiver spots.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: I trust him more on routes.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: I trust him more on special teams now.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have the youth in the speed of Jordan walkins.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: My number one thing that I am probably upset about the most is that Jordan walkins made this roster of a price in easing.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: But that's where we are.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: I expect Kadero Hodge to be elevated a week one.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: I really really do just because that dude's going to start on every single special team's group and you can use them as a wide receiver if you need to.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's already got, you know, he's just so consistent.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want him to get wide receiver snaps.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: But man, special teams, you put them out there on everything.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's a freaking beast.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Next up, we got Titan Khalil Dinkens, who we were also excited about.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: Him and James Thompson Jr. got the largest allotment of signing bonus guaranteed money of this priority free agent class.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now James Thompson Jr. stayed healthy.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: He was the only undrafted free agent to make the initial 53 man roster.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: Khalil Dinkens practiced with the 49ers for one week.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: got put on NFI.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: They had to wave them whenever you had 20 plus players miss in practice.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: You just couldn't do it.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: But once that time period with the injury settlement lapsed, then they brought them back.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: He passes his physical.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: Got one week into practice.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: Had some negative reps in the film.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Had some positive reps in the film.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's that kind of do it all.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: blocking type tight end that's almost used like an extra right tackle a lot of times.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's that Luke Feral role, and I think long-term the plan is for him to be in that Luke Feral role.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: This is the last year of Luke Feral's contract has not lived up to it at all.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: You have a player in place now, Khalil Deakens, that hey, you've already paid for his
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: you got them out there now he gets to learn the system he gets to practice he gets to go out there and you know work and hopefully eventually he becomes the next Jake Tonjus he becomes
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: men, the long list of, you know, the tight ends that have been practiced squad to elevate the guys, Braden Willis, we got so many of those guys, who's the stud that I'm missing from San Diego State, that was with the Niners forever that tight ends, but you're going to help me in the chat, I'm behind in the chat.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: Who's the tight end I'm forgetting?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: He always got elevated all the time, he's on the Niners for like five years.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm getting upset.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um, no, you're wrong there, Stefan.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Ruchi is awesome, but not over Willis.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: Who's my tight-aid?
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I miss it.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to piss me off.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to have to go back to the 49ers like three years ago.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: He was with the 49ers all the time.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, just practice quad to elevate it all the time.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: What is this freaking name?
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: I, uh, you guys got to make fun of me on this.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: Who's our Dwellie?
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: There it is.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: John Goole, you're the freaky man.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Ross Dwellie.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: Duck tape Dwellie.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: How did I forget that name?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really pissed off right now.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: Right here, Maria.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is in my notes as well.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers plan to sign offensive line foster surreal, totally not a made-up name, to their practice squad per Matt Barrows.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: He played guard tackle at Stanford, 41 games played for the chargers, Barrows reported that one.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: That is in my notes, but he is not on the practice squad currently, but that is some more hybrid help.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: Tackle guard can kind of back up everything, see what he gets, see what he brings, all those things.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, now, two wide receivers brought back to the practice squad, Wesley Grimes and wide receiver will polling.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: This gives you the inside speed stir in the outside big bodied, you know, deep threat and Wesley Grimes.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: I love Wesley Grimes.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: He is by far one of my favorite players that was on the back of this 90 man roster.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Huge, fast, physical, special teams.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think you can play all three wide receiver positions.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: Just think about like a just Sean Stribbling build and skill set without the production.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but like, man, athletically and build-wise, like, he's awesome.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: Got injured, missed the second and third preseason game.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: But the 49ers liked enough out of him to bring back Wesley Grimes.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: I, I love that long-term upside on this undrafted free-age at rookie.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really liked this kid.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we'll Pauli gets brought back to.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: He got more focus.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: He stayed healthy.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: really just laid stinkers in every single preseason game.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a practice warrior, which you want on your practice squad because these are the guys running to scout team for the starters every week.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Your job is to make the starters look better.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: Will Pauline is a practice warrior when the lights came on all three freezing games just didn't get it done.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: But maybe
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of the Jacob Cowen light, small, shifty, all those things, just without the lead upside.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so I like Will Pauline, I love Wesley Grimes.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: Wesley Grimes is like, ah, that was one of the names that I was just like, please get back, please get back.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Please get back.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: And you weren't really concerned with him.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: being claimed because he didn't play in the preseason games.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: He played one game got hurt, but man, he looks so good throughout training camp.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: There were so many times I was at practice and it was just like, dude, this cat right here just going all out.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, I really like those guys.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: You bring back one linebacker Jalen Grammys move with the 90s forever.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: He left for a little.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's Tennessee Titans came back.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: Love that he's back here at awesome third preseason game, and especially with the entries at the linebacker spot Nick Barton how long he is he going to be out.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: You talk about.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Gifford how long is he going to be out.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: That gives you five linebackers active week one another guy, Jalen Graham.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: That could be promoted week one because he plays all the special teams.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: He plays all three line-backer positions.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: It just gives you some help because going into a game with five line-backers is normal.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: It is normal.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Jayden Dugger, Fred Warner, Trey Greenlaw, Garrett Wallow, Tate on Bethoon.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: But Jalen Graham can play every special team's group and play all three linebacker spots.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: One of those that I probably put out a 50, 50, some of these other positions you have no choice.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: You have to promote from within.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: A book, a wrong quote, you're going to keep John Wiche, a long snapper on the practice squad, have to promote him.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then there's your two.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: But if you do side John Wiche to the 53, well, now,
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: Jail and Graham is a very high potential.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: This guy can help us on game day coach.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let us put him out there on special teams.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Let us put him out there.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I like the fact that they got Jail and Graham.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: He just seems to be the engine that could, you know, always at the back into the rotation for the linebackers, but just does enough consistently.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: Always where he needs to be.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: Covered skills are not bad at all.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: Good against the run.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: they like them, but the upside's just not there, but this is a player that I do expect to be elevated at some point during the season because he offers so much special team's wise and also because you have not won but two injuries ahead of them at the linebacker room, which is a big reason why they kept seven.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: back to the offensive line, Drake Nuget, the stud, the little stump out there that just doesn't get pushed back in past pro very often, very low ceiling, I'm not saying that just because he's short, but operated the offense very, very well throughout the preseason.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Again, the NFL's a trait space lead.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: He does not have the traits.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: He really, really doesn't.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: And somebody asked me about Jake Major's the center at Texas.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: He got waived as well.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: Habit Drake, NewJet.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: Man, you could put him right next to each other, play style tape.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're one in the same.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you need two center-only prospects on
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: to practice squad.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: You have Drake, NewJet, who's been with the team now for three seasons.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: This is third season, like that they got him back.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: And if you had to elevate him to start at the center position, not to the end of the world, really, really not.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: So Drake, NewJet has increased his play.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: Still lacks a lot, you know, really, any upside.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: but good player nonetheless, definitely good player nonetheless.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Couple updates, George Kittle Nick Bosa will be eased into practice over the next three days today through Wednesday, Kyle Shetty and alluded to.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is huge.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think that's a big one.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: Will those two players, I think Nick Bosa for sure week one, I think George Kittle,
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Probably put them at 25% to play week one, a little bit different, little bit different, right here at Mohammed.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: What happened to Larry worth the third?
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: He got cut and has not signed anywhere.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: has not signed anywhere as of now, so he is out into the ether, hopefully they bring him back, but he might be looking to go elsewhere.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, another player of the 49ers got back, safety, priority free agent, Jalen Strowman.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: This was one of the guys that was highest on our draft board.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think I got a fifth round great on him.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: Showed some promise, got some issues in coverage.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's a slow safety, Niners love those guys.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: That is great at special teams, great verse to the run.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: struggled on the deep post safety play what you have to do with the night in our scheme, but a developmental guy safety guy will see what could happen.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I doubt they're going to activate him too much this year.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Robinson cornered the jackrabbit baby.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: He was on the show friend of the show.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: He is awesome.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: It glad that they got him back in a fell as a trade space organization.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: trade space.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have it too small, not fast enough, but damn good against a run the amount of progress Jacob Robinson showed from last year to this year's preseason unbelievable.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: You have no problem elevating him to play at the nickel spot if you need it.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: like him, it's just the traits aren't there.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's just tiny.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and yeah, you love the fact that he brought the physicality and increase that from last year this year, but still not enough for a team to say, yeah, that's somebody I want on my 53.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: All of you, this Craig appreciates your mandates for the super chat should the 49er sign for deal digs or Kyle Kanard.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: I talked about Kyle Konard yesterday.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: He fits a lot more of what the Niners have already.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: The Sam O type, the key on white type, even the Mikhail Williams type.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: This bigger bodied defensive end that's a book style end, closer to almost a defensive tackle.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Fatile digs a little bit different.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: I remember him at a Syracuse, I believe.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would love another defensive end.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I would prefer a defensive pass rusher defensive end.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: I would not put either of those two into this category, but I would love any defensive ends, including Fadil digs.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: I would take Calcarnard, I was way higher on him.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: First, but that's based off of my draft work before he was drafted.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Neither player has fair will in the NFL.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: What would make you, you know, anybody think that they would fair will now with the 49ers?
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's not, Kusert can't do that.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: Because Eric doesn't do that.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: He could use vets that are all out hustle players and you get quality production.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: He has struggled developing these young upside in consistent defensive lineman.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: I like Chris Crusher.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thankful he's a coach for the 49ers, but like he's no Johnny Holland.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't the development just he's no Chris Forster.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what that is.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he's a damn good coach, but like as far as like the development of these high traits, rookies.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it's Nick Bosa, and that's it.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: But like you talk about Samo, you talk about Carrie Heiter, you talk about, you know, those types guys, cashiest, Mars type guys.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's where he gets production.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: The high talent guys, I don't know why.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: For some reason, he just, he has to elevate it their play near as much.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Steffit, thanks for the super chat.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a chance Aaron Donald isn't good anymore?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: Not really.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's 35.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: There's a chance Aaron Donald isn't as good as he was.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: Take a two years off, and I think that's huge, but no, man, pretty they have good, might have taken three years off, but the talent is just, and you see like the workout videos and stuff, it's not like he was out there eating pringles and sitting on the couch.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's still going to be good.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: I only three players.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: I believe all time have three defense of players in the year ever.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of them.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody has more than that.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's a defensive player.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: The year guy.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: Anymore.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: But he's damn good.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: I know I'm a Homer.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: But air Donald's a freak of freak man.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully the dropoff is significant.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, yeah, oh, that was rough.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we got a couple more players that we've got to get to, which I'm so excited about on the practice squad that we still haven't talked about.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Plus, we got some number changes.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: And if you want to learn about football, you want bets of the week, you want zoom hangouts, you want to learn 40-nighters football.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: got to go to the tape.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_04]: I painted I really see the tape, but you got to see the tape to really see what it looks like, but then I'll see it close from the film.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: The things that we still take, the things that we require.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_04]: I hope you look the same on tape.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: Get better from the tape, but before we're hoping to have some good film on those guys and we'll get to those things we got on the plane.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: If the 49ers coaches and players have to watch the tape, what do you think you need to do?
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guess what?
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: We got the tape.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers rush.com and our Patreon channel, patreon.com slash 49ers rush podcast.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: We have every offensive defense and special teams play outlined in all 22 and in zone coaches tape to go through and show you play by play, what this guy did wrong, what this guy did right, who was wrong, who was right all those things, it's way better than
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: You get it all, seven day free trial right now.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Plus we have monthly Zoom hangouts, we place our monthly bets, weekly bets, season long bets all on there.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to be a better fan, you want to understand football better, guess what?
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers rush.com is the place to go.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: Now, as far as roster cuts go, probably the player that generated the most clicks, chat, whatever.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: had to be and I kept you know, screaming for the mountaintops.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's playing great.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's played awesome.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's going to get claimed NFL's a trade space Lee.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: Did not get claimed they got him back.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: So that is huge.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: Another player that I could see elevated, especially if Alfred Collins and CJ West, their trajectory to returning to their, you know, midseason
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: say they happened last year, they were bad coming off injuries.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: So if they're struggling to get back to that level, Sebastian Valdez, another player that I could see, you know, promoted, they love that guy.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: And as much as they love that guy, he's kind of getting the Marcus Rush treatment where he's just so badass every preseason, but he's small.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's under size.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that's great.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: You can put up, but the traits ain't there.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it's not like Sebastian Valdez's tape was awesome.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: The whole time it was not there were still a lot of bad, but the splash plays are there.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, the one, maybe Hulk will play someday.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: Damn, I hope so too.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: I love that there are guys like this.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then this is why I love the practice squad because it gives you that extra, you know, 17 guys that you get to have around.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's rough that he went through what he did, but the nighter's got him back.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: And so like man, if you told me guaranteed the 49ers get to keep three of their back and defensive ends and James Thompson Jr. Bryce and Eason and Sebastian Valdez, I would have took that.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: And so I could sit here and be pissed off about Bryce and Eason and I am, but you got to keep Sebastian Valdez and you got to keep James Thompson Jr. James Thompson Jr. was the prize.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: He always was the prize.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: You get all you Bryson East and Sebastian, you know, Valdez who I kind of went back and forth, which one of those two would make my roster, my 53 man projection.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: And guess what, you got to keep them.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: So you got to keep James Thompson Jr., you got to keep Bryson East and we can always do the woes me, can't believe.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: It happens every damn year.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's Bryson East is gonna go be an all pro for, you know, the chiefs.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, yeah, I don't know.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm pissed about it, but at least you got to keep them.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's huge.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: And Coward shipped over right here.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Watch of the tape.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: ESA was not better than Western Collins.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: Still shouldn't have kept him on the 53.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with that tape.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: He was consistent.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: Did not have the splash plays.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: ESA was good.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: ESA was good.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: The upside of Bryson ESA is not present.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: He could be a stable, rotational defense attack all against the run.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's what he is.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: The upside of CJ West and Alfred Collins is bananas.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: You look at their body types.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: They're not built the same way in the least, in the least.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: And you can't just count the tape that CJ West and Alfred Collins put up last year when it mattered most.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, both of them got sex in the playoffs.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that shit matters, matters.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: It matters.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, right here in Bobo, question, why did they cut price in these and it just didn't make sense.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would have cut off, I would have cut short and walk and it's easy.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would have done.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_01]: They did not do that.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's okay.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to keep everybody.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_01]: And you lost two.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: You lost a rail looter.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: And you lost price in these.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's upset about losing to rail looter.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: The ceiling and the traits just weren't there for the 49ers.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, let's see here.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: Right here.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: Thomas can Christian Kirk and Austin Pleasant's come back week one.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, they cannot.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: They have to wait until week five to play in a game.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: They have to wait until week five to play in a game, but they get a practice week three, get a practice week four, first time they can play as week five.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so the new IR pup designated to return whatever, you have to miss four games, have to.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: Get a practice after two games, but that's the early side players can take longer than that.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you Christian Kirk strained his calf and has been out for over six weeks.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's got to miss another four weeks.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is a two and a half month injury, gosh man, Dustin Perry.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_01]: Good Lord.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: Good Lord.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: Maria right here.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: People weren't happy with me when I said Sebastian Valdez wouldn't get claimed off waivers.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and I'll say this about these discussions.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: I love how passionate people are for their guy.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: I love it when we get passionate and this is a negative.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking to myself right now.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it when people get passionate against certain players.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: And this is why I use numbers for players that drive me up the wall and I get upset with, right?
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: 27, 64, 17 getting pretty damn close.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like even 28 was on that for a little while.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it when we're passionate against guys on the nine or squad.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm talking to myself.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking to anybody else here, but I love it.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: when we get passionate.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: I love it that fans are so damn passionate about Sebastian Valdes, that whenever I say like, I don't think he's gonna make it, that they get pissed off.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's cool.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: We do that roster series, one through 91, 91 people, we highlight individually for this very reason.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: We are the faithful.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: And so whenever people get so pumped,
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: So pumped about players from the back into the roster.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're my favorite person.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like like if you love Sebastian Valdez, you are my favorite person.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like I love it.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you love Bryson Eason, you are my favorite.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: The passion of you guys.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's huge, man.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's huge.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, J.M.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know you hate so much.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_01]: And that's okay.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I love you, J.M.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: But like, god, leave me and just baggin' on the same guy's nonstop all day.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: That hurts, dude.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: It hurts.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: But you do you and we love you.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I am so damn thankful you're here.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, you've made your point several times.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: You hate certain players.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm curious what players you love.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: Let's like, I would love that.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, Jay, tell me what players you love.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: I want to highlight that, man.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: Coach Cruz, the legend is in the house.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think we add any veterans that are either free agent or cut from another roster?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: There's still four spots open.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: There's room for some of that.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think probably not.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Niners are going to maybe add one or two new players.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: They expected to sign, you know, offensive line or foster, so, uh, surreal, maybe one or two more guys like that that have not been in the 49ers building, but they want their guys back that know the system.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's what I want, uh, Maria, you are the favorite of everybody.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know that, uh, I think this is the one says 2070s, at least three interceptions for me this year, um, and to hit some people.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: I just want somebody that's going to tackle not get toasted deep.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's all right, right here.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: Stephen, what if you love nicks to kill?
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: Then your name is Brock Perti.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and project mayhem, we have no name in death.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: We all have a name.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_01]: His name is Robert Paulson.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: His name is Robert Paulson.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, I love it.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: John Weeks, we talked about right there.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, number changes, who doesn't love number changes and why receivers?
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta love that, the one right here.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: Strably number seven, no more thinking for a second, it was July, I love it.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: You had three number changes, all why receivers.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Cowen goes to number four, which you remember, he was 18 or 19.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: Debo comes back, he gives him that number.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so then he was six, but now he's four.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I like that number.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: We'll Pauline, you know, didn't make the 53.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't get to pick that number.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now the Sean stripling goes from 15 to seven.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: I like it.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the 15 number in the 49ers uniform.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: One of my least favorite 49ers all time.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Crab tree.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now I hate it.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: I love Joanne Jennings.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Heated the year that it ended with the holdout slash calf.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever played really, really well through the
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: But like, kind of sucks the way that ended.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: And kind of sucks the way that ended.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: I love that he's now number seven.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: And really what I love more than that.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_01]: Demarchus Robinson gets number 11, baby.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: They could not make me happier.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_01]: That somebody is wearing number 11 that gets exactly what it's supposed to be and I did not forget all of those people say to Marcus Robinson would not make this roster and I thought it was just bad shit insane.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I cuss, but I mean it to Marcus Robinson was always going to make this roster.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: He got the star level treatment.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's your wide receiver for first off the bench, whatever.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: I love to Marcus Robinson.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: I love to Marcus Robinson and I love even more that he's wearing number 11.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted somebody to get number 11.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: I love that to Marcus Robertson got that I think 11 is a clean ass number and for somebody that gets what it means to be in the NFL a Consumant pro to go from what it was to what it is now hell yes
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hell yes.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: Hell yes.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: I do love that.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I think that's huge.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now other things that I love do.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: We've got trips on trips on trips.

- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build the 49ers community, you're traveling by yourself.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_01]: We got you covered 49ers rushroadtrip.com.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_01]: Look at my bad feel.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you feel as always.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_01]: You are the best.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: You are the freak to be a thank you for your generosity, brother.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: You are incredible.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Wagner just updated the 49ers crazy schedule, which I'm a part of this.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: We fly out late Saturday to Australia.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_01]: You fly out Saturday.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: You lay in Monday.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: You don't even get a Sunday.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: You just
- 57:08[SPEAKER_01]: But Nick Wagner T. Telled the $40 practice schedule, which is crazier than mine.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: So they have practice today, Monday, practice Tuesday, practice Wednesday, then fly to Melbourne, Melbourne, Wednesday night.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: So they practice and fly out the same day, arrive in Melbourne Friday.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: Morning, Australia time, and then they get to bonus practice Saturday.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: two very conflicting approaches to this crazy international game like the Rams fly out the day before they get in the day before then play the game.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to kind of see how
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: that goes because you got two, you know, the 40 hours getting out there 10 days ahead of the game, so that they can go through their routine there, get ready, acclimate all those things.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the worst overnight flyer ever.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: I never do red eye flights because I can't sleep on planes.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: I have done international flights, a handful of times.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_01]: I've never slept for one second on a plane.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, now I'm not the person I don't have the budget to do the nice, you know, layout seats like the players do and like many of you do, which is awesome one day.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to be there.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: That is a goal of mine.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_01]: But Dude, I can't sleep on planes.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: I can't sleep in a car.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what it is.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I've never been able to do it.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_01]: So whenever I do these long international flights, I'm a disaster for days.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: We shall see how that goes.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: If I was a player, I would hate the Rams plan.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: I would absolutely hate it.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I am not a world glass athlete, as you can guess if you're watching this life.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll see how that goes.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_01]: But the 49ers three practices, three days in row and then the flight.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they just came off the mandatory three days off.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that that's kind of big there.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that's a lot there.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: All look at this.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: CB YA.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: You were the man he says, hope to see the faithful and Arizona for the last game of the season.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_01]: Looking forward to say hello.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna be there.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's not currently on our day because the NFL made that a flex schedule date.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_01]: It is almost impossible for me to put down deposits and money on all of these places to have these events with only nine days notice and that NFL is going to change it like it's hard.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm planning to come to Arizona for the last game of the year, but it's probably a 50 50 right now, probably a 50 50 so, but I will say this as somebody who's been to Arizona.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think the last five years combined you are not going to have a problem.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_01]: getting with the faithful.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be there to meet you, not sure I'm going to be able to swing in.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I can, but we'll have to wait and see how much is that game going to mean?
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: Is it even going to be, you know, 49ers wrestling their starters?
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: I've been there whenever the game didn't matter at all.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it was awesome.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: And we still had a great time.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: Even though 49ers got blown out, but we'll see there.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_01]: Send thanks for the super chat.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you'll get a sleep on the playing this time.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I've taken prescribed medicine.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_01]: I've taken over the counter
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_01]: not a week.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_01]: My plan is to sleep Saturday during the day and then get to the plane and maybe sleep, but yeah, I bought all the contraptions and just nothing to do.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm broken.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm broken.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: Can clientele our resident safety expert?
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Marquis Seagull is our free safety.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_01]: The problem with the interchangeable safety method that the NFL now operates on, caution and answer responsible for this, by the way, all those jet motions and last, you know, across, you know, jet sweeps and whatever, you can't have a single high safety anymore, because you just can't stay in man coverage.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_01]: with your guys motioning across your full backs, your tight ends, your Z wide receivers, your D-bos doing that back across, you know, behind the line of scrubbing motions.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do that with the designated safety.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: This is a scheme ripple effect of Kyle Shanahan, just can't do it.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_01]: So what you have to do, you can't have a single high safety and a strong safety anymore.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't exist in the NFL.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_01]: You have to have interchangeable safeties.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you could break the huddle and have a predetermined free safety, but one cross motion from an eligible, you've got to rotate that free safety now, slides down to the box safety roll, the box safety now slides up to the free safety roll.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: can't do it.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_01]: So like this is the evolution of the safety position play and then you can go back to Roy Williams, the cowboy safety.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: And you can't be a slow safety that can't cover.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers will constantly battle that and draft guys that run for sixes and four sevens and put them back there.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, the idea of free safety and box safety does not equate in the NFL any longer.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_01]: And now you've got teams like Seattle and Mike McDonald, that plate three safety's.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_01]: where they do have a predetermined box safety.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then there are other two safety kind of basically a big nickel roll.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: Safety is a problem for the 49ers.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_01]: There is no doubt about that.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about that, but take that for what you will.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, I'm going to skip a couple of those.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the ramps are they're they're up there, but big toe.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_01]: You had two talented safeties and despite the dropped interception.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: You had to.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, times you're talking about tart and ward.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one of the least favorite plays of all time.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_01]: It really, really is the one right here.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_01]: Please.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_01]: I can't right now about our safeties.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_01]: They need to prove it this year.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you've got a fifth rounder and a third rounder in there, they've spent draft capitals somewhat.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: You had an all pro safety, let them walk guess what he goes gets another all pro year right after you let them walk.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_01]: Safety's and guards the 49ers do not value don't expect that to change.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: don't.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are incredible.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_01]: This has been an absolute blast show.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, 49ers got a lot of their guys back.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_01]: There's still four more spots out there.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_01]: I are even more than that.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_01]: The evolution of this roster will continue to change up until Wednesday.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: You can't fly somebody, I guess you could fly somebody.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_01]: If you pick somebody up after Wednesday, you could fly them over to Australia.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_01]: Put them on our flight, John, we'll carry them.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_01]: We'll take them.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_01]: We've got about 25 people flying with us to Australia.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be awesome.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot more meeting us there.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: And that's going to do it first today.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are the best.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_01]: The best go over to the 49ers rush.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_01]: Go watch our recent breakdown.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_01]: of that third preseason game to the all 22 all that stuff and again later this week will have our season long bets put in on the 49ers rush.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_01]: coming our patreon appreciate you and until next time stay strong, faithful.
