- 5:43Speaker 2: There are so many games going on and so much happening.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I have sitting right next to me right now, the one,
- 5:50Speaker 2: the only Jason Trompley. Good morning, buddy, How the hell
- 5:54Speaker 2: are you man? Good? You know, I'm so glad to
- 5:57Speaker 2: see you, man, you look dapper. You always look so dude.
- 6:00Speaker 2: You're one of these guys that like you never change.
- 6:05Speaker 2: You haven't put on fifty pounds like some people.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I don't.
- 6:09Speaker 5: I don't know about that, but I appreciate it.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Man. I got to give a shout out to you
- 6:16Speaker 2: and to Chris Olsen over at Montpellier Mazda your cohort there.
- 6:22Speaker 2: You guys are are changing the world. You are. You know,
- 6:27Speaker 2: I said, when when you guys finally came on into
- 6:33Speaker 2: the market here and built this new amazing dealership over
- 6:37Speaker 2: on on route to just on the other side of
- 6:39Speaker 2: the round about there. When I first pulled in there,
- 6:45Speaker 2: I was seriously wowed. I know you've heard that from
- 6:48Speaker 2: from other customers. They walk in there, they're like, oh
- 6:51Speaker 2: my god.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's quite the place.
- 6:54Speaker 2: This isn't some like little barn that you guys kind
- 6:57Speaker 2: of fixed up, and I mean this is a state
- 6:59Speaker 2: of the aren't building.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Yeah, there was no expense fared that every single thing
- 7:04Speaker 5: that there could be there is there. I mean we're
- 7:07Speaker 5: really one stop shop.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Now, Chris, he's the GM. Chris Olsen, he's
- 7:13Speaker 2: the GM on the Mazda side. Yep, and you're the
- 7:17Speaker 2: GM on the Volkswagen side. What separates you guys are
- 7:22Speaker 2: in the same building.
- 7:24Speaker 5: What separates big firewall you can't you can't get from then,
- 7:30Speaker 5: what's the old thing you can't get from there?
- 7:31Speaker 6: To hear?
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever it is.
- 7:34Speaker 5: There's when we built a building the manufacturers really want.
- 7:37Speaker 5: It's one rooftop, but it's two separate dealerships, two separate
- 7:41Speaker 5: service centers, two separate service drives. The only thing connect
- 7:45Speaker 5: them is there is a fire door that separates the shops.
- 7:48Speaker 5: That connects too. But you can't go from one, show
- 7:50Speaker 5: them to the other without walking out the front door
- 7:52Speaker 5: and yeah, down the drive in the.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Wow, I have to tell you. And it was over
- 7:56Speaker 2: there yesterday browsing around, and I do as people know
- 8:00Speaker 2: when they when they watch aired out, they know that
- 8:03Speaker 2: I pop over there and showcase some of the some
- 8:07Speaker 2: of the vehicles. I was blown away yesterday and the
- 8:12Speaker 2: other times when I took a gander around your your lot. Uh,
- 8:19Speaker 2: you guys have an incredible number of beautiful vehicles that
- 8:24Speaker 2: are sitting right there.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Yeah, we have the Volkswagens. We have over one hundred
- 8:29Speaker 5: and seventy new Volkswagens in stock ready to go between
- 8:34Speaker 5: three different lots. We have our two lots at the
- 8:36Speaker 5: store and then we have our holding a lot down
- 8:38Speaker 5: the road. So wow, any make model options. I mean,
- 8:43Speaker 5: you want it, we got it.
- 8:44Speaker 2: So so there's there's another lot that you just say,
- 8:48Speaker 2: you're you call it you're holding lot. Yeah, that's like
- 8:51Speaker 2: serious overflow.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Between I think between US Mazda and the GMC store
- 8:57Speaker 5: across the street, we have two hundred and fifty plus
- 9:01Speaker 5: cars over there.
- 9:02Speaker 2: That's amazing, dude.
- 9:04Speaker 5: A lot of them are Volkswagens. But yeah, there's a
- 9:06Speaker 5: pile of too.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Listen. I I know that Vermoner's traditionally love super Rus,
- 9:14Speaker 2: but I'm telling you, man, Volkswagen is like right there
- 9:20Speaker 2: becoming Vermont's next next most popular car.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm trying to stick I claim, you know, let
- 9:26Speaker 5: people know we're here. We want to help. I don't
- 9:29Speaker 5: want to just sell you one car, we want to
- 9:30Speaker 5: sell you all your cars.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So right, German made. I mean this is something that
- 9:36Speaker 2: is I've got a friend who will only buy a Volkswagen.
- 9:40Speaker 2: That's it.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a lot of people, there's a lot of
- 9:41Speaker 5: people I won't they buy Volkswagen, they don't even entertain
- 9:44Speaker 5: anything else.
- 9:45Speaker 4: They just that's you're not coming back, and we appreciate it.
- 9:48Speaker 2: What's the buzz on? The buzz is massive? Yeah, and
- 9:55Speaker 2: it was I you know, I remember when it was
- 9:57Speaker 2: over there and you, guys, I think it was you
- 9:59Speaker 2: that was telling me we're getting this. It's coming, it's coming,
- 10:03Speaker 2: and you finally got it. And man, it's like everybody
- 10:07Speaker 2: is talking about the buzz. Volkswagen decided to kind of
- 10:11Speaker 2: bring back a little nostalgic Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Yeah, what's old is new again.
- 10:16Speaker 5: They brought back the old VW Bus, but they brought
- 10:20Speaker 5: it into today's day and age. And it's all electric,
- 10:23Speaker 5: fully full electric and four will drive yep, available all
- 10:30Speaker 5: wheel drive you and also get it real wheel drive too.
- 10:32Speaker 2: So oh yeah, I think I remember you telling me
- 10:35Speaker 2: that I'm hoping there's going to be a time when
- 10:39Speaker 2: we can test drive this thing and roll the windows down.
- 10:45Speaker 5: You say, the day we'll set some classic tunes in there,
- 10:48Speaker 5: and oh I love Yesterdyear Wow.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So so and I've looked through it. I mean, you've
- 10:55Speaker 2: got it there in the in the showroom, all the
- 10:57Speaker 2: doors are opened up and your media guy Cam has
- 11:01Speaker 2: done such an amazing job filming that thing and and
- 11:05Speaker 2: showing people what it looks like. Can you sleep in it?
- 11:11Speaker 2: Is that a dumb question?
- 11:12Speaker 5: Sure, I'm sure you could. There's plenty of room ins there.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yeah. So what's what's the deal? How many? How many passengers?
- 11:18Speaker 2: Does this new Volkswagen.
- 11:21Speaker 4: To seven passengers?
- 11:22Speaker 2: So I mean seven passenger.
- 11:24Speaker 5: You've got plenty of You got plenty of room. If
- 11:27Speaker 5: you don't need it all you can fall down the
- 11:30Speaker 5: back seats flat, and third row seats flat, and put
- 11:32Speaker 5: down the second row seats. We're not sure, but I
- 11:35Speaker 5: think you can get pretty close to a sheet of
- 11:36Speaker 5: four ba.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I saw you guys, I saw you guys. You were
- 11:41Speaker 2: I can't remember you're you're a sales guy there, Dave, Dave,
- 11:45Speaker 2: he's outstanding. Yeah, he's great. Uh he was talking about that,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I think.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that's one of the videos of him and Cam didn't.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure if someone tries to get a piece
- 11:58Speaker 2: of four by applywood back there, you may tap the
- 12:01Speaker 2: brakes on that as as a demo.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, of course we'll measure it
- 12:06Speaker 5: out before we stick it in exactly exactly.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Maybe get a cardboard a template going exactly. But but
- 12:14Speaker 2: this is what a vehicle. Man.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Yeah, it's got every stitch of technology you would want
- 12:20Speaker 5: in the car, and it doesn't feel I've driven one myself,
- 12:23Speaker 5: and it doesn't feel like you're driving something that's as
- 12:27Speaker 5: big as it is because you walk up to it.
- 12:29Speaker 5: It's a statement piece. I mean, yeah, it's tall, it's long,
- 12:32Speaker 5: it's it's yeah, it's really it's a lot. But when
- 12:37Speaker 5: you're driving, it doesn't drive like a big car. You
- 12:39Speaker 5: don't feel like you're driving a bus. And no pun intended,
- 12:43Speaker 5: but it's it's definitely a different experience.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's so cool. It's just so beautiful. I
- 12:52Speaker 2: mean when you when I when I look in this thing,
- 12:54Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god, the detail, the leather, I
- 12:57Speaker 2: mean everything.
- 12:58Speaker 5: They took a long time to put together. I mean
- 13:00Speaker 5: this is three four or five years in the making
- 13:03Speaker 5: making before they ran it out.
- 13:05Speaker 2: So what is what is so popular right now? And
- 13:09Speaker 2: of course we're gonna check in with with Chris here
- 13:12Speaker 2: in a little bit as well, But what what is uh,
- 13:15Speaker 2: what else is buzzing right now? You know? I saw
- 13:19Speaker 2: one of the cars that I saw in the lot
- 13:20Speaker 2: yesterday that literally made my head turn and I got
- 13:26Speaker 2: out of my vehicle and went over and took a
- 13:29Speaker 2: picture of this thing is the new and I was like, wow,
- 13:33Speaker 2: what is that? Should have known, but it was a Jetta.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Yeah, so Jetta's got a small facelift in twenty twenty five.
- 13:41Speaker 5: We have a pile of them down there. This month,
- 13:44Speaker 5: you can lease a brand new Jetta Sport and it's
- 13:48Speaker 5: not a base model card it's got plenty of features.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Three thirty nine a month, thirty six months, no money down.
- 13:54Speaker 5: I mean, we're not gonna play any games with you.
- 13:57Speaker 5: We're not gonna there's no tricks. It's thirty six months,
- 13:59Speaker 5: no money down, three thirty nine a month. Come on,
- 14:03Speaker 5: take your pick any Jetisport we got.
- 14:04Speaker 4: On the lot.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Oh my god, zero down, yep, zero down. So basically,
- 14:12Speaker 2: if if you got decent credit, you can get yourself
- 14:15Speaker 2: into one of these vehicles. And how many miles a year.
- 14:19Speaker 5: We're talking about miles for the term of the least.
- 14:23Speaker 2: What a beautiful car that is. It's got some uh,
- 14:27Speaker 2: it's got some some kick to it. It'll go Oh yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm sure I wouldn't mind test driving one of those too.
- 14:35Speaker 2: So the the Jetta and the Jetta sport yep, beautiful.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Tell me about the Tigue ones. Is is that one
- 14:44Speaker 2: of the most popular models.
- 14:46Speaker 4: That's yeah, and at our store, it's.
- 14:50Speaker 5: One of our flagship vehicles and we have a pile
- 14:53Speaker 5: of them down there right now. Sixty months zero percent
- 14:57Speaker 5: qualified buyers on Altie, I mean zero percent doesn't come
- 15:02Speaker 5: around all that often anymore. And to have the opportunity
- 15:04Speaker 5: to get it for five years, it's literally free money.
- 15:06Speaker 5: So it's a keep money in your bank account and yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 5: don't pay anybody are on the money.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, my buddy who loves Volkswagens, he loves the older ones.
- 15:19Speaker 2: He's got a sixty seven Beetle convertible yep, and he
- 15:26Speaker 2: tends to lean toward the older models. But even he
- 15:30Speaker 2: is like, wow, man, look at these new Volkswagens. I mean,
- 15:34Speaker 2: if you grab a broch sure and take it home
- 15:36Speaker 2: and thumb through it over the weekend, you're probably gonna
- 15:40Speaker 2: want to test drive something come Monday.
- 15:42Speaker 5: Yeah, tumb stop down. He can take a look at
- 15:45Speaker 5: the seventy four in the showroom.
- 15:47Speaker 2: So, yeah, which has been lightly modified. But yeah, what's
- 15:52Speaker 2: the story with that. By the way, where did you
- 15:54Speaker 2: guys get that.
- 15:54Speaker 5: So able pick that up down in Florida. It's a
- 15:57Speaker 5: seventy four Volkswagen bug Can version. So the easiest way
- 16:02Speaker 5: to describe it is if like you remember the old
- 16:04Speaker 5: Chevy panel vans way back in there.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yes, so it's like that still got all the same.
- 16:09Speaker 5: It still looks like a Volkswagen bug It just looks
- 16:12Speaker 5: like against stretched.
- 16:13Speaker 2: That's so cool man and he picked that up at yep. Wow.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I want to ask you about the the Touse here too.
- 16:23Speaker 2: That is a popular cell. Yea all wheel drive.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Yep, all wheel drive.
- 16:27Speaker 5: That's a that's like your entry level crossover step above
- 16:31Speaker 5: the Jetta, a little bit more size, a little bit wider,
- 16:33Speaker 5: but all wheel drive capability. We sell a lot of
- 16:35Speaker 5: those two in this month. You can lease one of
- 16:37Speaker 5: those for three eighty seven a month. Again, ten thousand
- 16:40Speaker 5: miles a year, no money down. Yeah. Yeah, we have
- 16:44Speaker 5: the inventory and the best way to sell is just
- 16:48Speaker 5: give people good deals. I mean, it's it's not rocket science.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Yeah right, and that's what I love about you guys.
- 16:54Speaker 2: There's no bs. You come in there and you just
- 16:58Speaker 2: break it down and service after the sale is massive.
- 17:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:02Speaker 5: We want to be transparent with customers every step of
- 17:04Speaker 5: the way through the process. Because I've said it before,
- 17:08Speaker 5: I don't know how many customers. I mean, going to
- 17:10Speaker 5: buy a car is like going to the dentist. It's
- 17:11Speaker 5: something nobody really wants to do. It's something you have
- 17:13Speaker 5: to do.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Sure, but if.
- 17:15Speaker 5: You're honest with people right from the beginning and you
- 17:17Speaker 5: listen and you take into account what they need, it
- 17:22Speaker 5: makes everything so much easier and kind of lets their
- 17:24Speaker 5: guard down, let them know what You're on their team
- 17:26Speaker 5: and you just want to help.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Sure. Yeah, I love that about you guys. You're all
- 17:30Speaker 2: like that, and I think you you you really train
- 17:33Speaker 2: your staff to have that mindset.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Yeah, we try and take a different approach to it.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Nobody likes salesman.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:41Speaker 5: But uh but everything I tell people is just make
- 17:44Speaker 5: a friend. I mean, yeah, start there and just listen.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Sure, just listen and say here I am, call me
- 17:51Speaker 2: any time you want, let's talk about this, let's chew
- 17:54Speaker 2: on it. There's no pressure, you know.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Right, You're gonna be hearing from them even after you
- 17:58Speaker 5: buy a car and down the road, six months down
- 18:01Speaker 5: the road, two years down the road. I mean, we're
- 18:03Speaker 5: gonna stay in contact with you and make sure that
- 18:05Speaker 5: we're not just like I said, we're not just going
- 18:06Speaker 5: to sell you want car. We want to make sure
- 18:07Speaker 5: if you ever have any problems, we're always there. You
- 18:09Speaker 5: can always stop down. I don't care if it's a
- 18:11Speaker 5: year and a half waiter and you're Bluetooth disconnecting you
- 18:15Speaker 5: can't remember how to fix it, and I mean, come
- 18:17Speaker 5: on down and we'll go through the car with you again.
- 18:20Speaker 2: And yeah, it's relationships, Yeah, it has to be that
- 18:26Speaker 2: are key.
- 18:26Speaker 5: I mean, word of mouth is the best. Advertising, doesn't
- 18:29Speaker 5: cost anything to treat people right.
- 18:31Speaker 2: And just well, the other thing is you're you live locally,
- 18:34Speaker 2: so it's like you're you're bumping into your customers. Well
- 18:37Speaker 2: you're out grocery shopping away.
- 18:39Speaker 5: I'm right here, right right here in central vermonth right,
- 18:43Speaker 5: I'm not going anywhere exactly.
- 18:46Speaker 2: And I love that you look people in the eye,
- 18:48Speaker 2: you give them a firm hand handshake, and you're you're
- 18:52Speaker 2: honest right from the get go. And that's that's key.
- 18:55Speaker 2: You know. It seems like, uh like there's there's two
- 19:00Speaker 2: kinds of people that are buying cars these days. And
- 19:04Speaker 2: maybe maybe I'm wrong, and you can correct me if
- 19:07Speaker 2: I am. But there's there's the person who just wants
- 19:12Speaker 2: to get in a vehicle. Maybe the kids are all
- 19:17Speaker 2: grown up, maybe they don't have any kids. Whatever, they
- 19:21Speaker 2: just want to they want something small, they want something
- 19:24Speaker 2: with some zip, They want to have some fun, they
- 19:26Speaker 2: want to maybe let the top down, whatever that they
- 19:29Speaker 2: want to enjoy driving from a recreational standpoint. And then
- 19:35Speaker 2: there's the other person who's got the family, got the kids.
- 19:40Speaker 2: We've got a schedule, we got a routine, we got
- 19:43Speaker 2: softball practice, we got hockey. We're going going, going and it.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Let's go get in the car. We're moving. We don't
- 19:51Speaker 2: have time for any of this. We're stopping off at
- 19:55Speaker 2: the fast food place, you know whatever, and you know
- 20:00Speaker 2: it's go time. We need something that's that's functional.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean that's why we say I say
- 20:10Speaker 5: we literally have something for everybody, whether it be Nino Jetty,
- 20:14Speaker 5: kids are going off to college. First car, I mean
- 20:18Speaker 5: tawas like you said, where people maybe your kids are
- 20:20Speaker 5: gone and you want to just downside a little bit,
- 20:22Speaker 5: or if your family's growing and an outlets, we got
- 20:24Speaker 5: third row there. Or if you want a larger suv
- 20:27Speaker 5: and you don't need a third row, we have the
- 20:28Speaker 5: Outlas Cross Sport, which is still going to give you
- 20:30Speaker 5: all those great features in that size, just with the reliability,
- 20:34Speaker 5: but you don't need a third row seat.
- 20:35Speaker 4: It's not there.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Wow.
- 20:36Speaker 5: Interesting, we really have every something for everybody. It's just
- 20:40Speaker 5: we come to come down, we find out the situation
- 20:43Speaker 5: and yeah, find out what you need to your life.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Like right, tell us what you're gonna use the car for.
- 20:48Speaker 5: You Do you like going on vacations? You have baseball?
- 20:50Speaker 5: Do you have softball?
- 20:53Speaker 6: Right?
- 20:53Speaker 4: Exactly right?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Or you are you a highway?
- 20:57Speaker 5: Because people come in and what they want might not
- 21:01Speaker 5: necessarily be what they need. So that's why I always
- 21:04Speaker 5: tell the guys just listen to what they're saying and
- 21:07Speaker 5: show them what they want. But say, well, when I
- 21:09Speaker 5: heard you, when I heard you said you did this,
- 21:12Speaker 5: maybe you maybe maybe take a look at this. It
- 21:15Speaker 5: might be something that they never even thought about before.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Sure, you'll get people in there that are going through
- 21:20Speaker 2: a midlife crisis.
- 21:23Speaker 4: I'm heading towards one myself.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So honey, I it's not this motorcycle is not a want,
- 21:30Speaker 2: It is a need necessity. It is a necessity. I
- 21:33Speaker 2: have to have it. We're gonna be in trouble if
- 21:35Speaker 2: I don't have it right, but this house, essie, all
- 21:39Speaker 2: wheel drive, thirty six month lease, uh three eighty seven
- 21:43Speaker 2: a month. Yeah, no money down.
- 21:46Speaker 4: No way down.
- 21:46Speaker 5: That's an all wheel drive car, is gonna get you
- 21:48Speaker 5: all the features you need. Comes well, cook's got leathers, go,
- 21:51Speaker 5: heated seats, It's got I mean, these aren't, like I said,
- 21:53Speaker 5: they're not base model cars. It's not your grandma. This
- 21:56Speaker 5: roll up window, cross seats and right, I mean, what do.
- 22:00Speaker 2: You and Chris and I'll ask him here, we're going
- 22:02Speaker 2: to bring him on here in just a second. But
- 22:04Speaker 2: what do you guys say to people that are like, ah,
- 22:09Speaker 2: I'm probably not going to get this zero down. My
- 22:12Speaker 2: credit's not that great or at least I don't think
- 22:15Speaker 2: my credit's that great, or I really don't know if
- 22:19Speaker 2: my credit is decent. What do you say to those people.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Let's let's take a look at it. Let's try.
- 22:25Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, you can't walk into a place
- 22:28Speaker 5: and say well, I'm not going to do it and
- 22:29Speaker 5: then not at least try, you know what I mean. Sure,
- 22:31Speaker 5: you spend your time coming down, you spend your time
- 22:33Speaker 5: driving driving the car. Don't let what you think could
- 22:36Speaker 5: happen ruin something that.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that might happen right exactly, Yeah, I love that.
- 22:42Speaker 2: What is it? Two point nine percent for up to
- 22:45Speaker 2: sixty months.
- 22:46Speaker 5: Two nine for up to sixty months on the Touis
- 22:48Speaker 5: as well. So if your lease isn't your flavor, I
- 22:51Speaker 5: mean you still get lower rate financing that in this
- 22:54Speaker 5: day and age, I mean hold on to it because
- 22:56Speaker 5: I mean rate still haven't come back down to anywhere
- 22:58Speaker 5: near where they were.
- 23:00Speaker 2: The the touse U S that's the all wheel drive.
- 23:06Speaker 5: One, yep, the tous I think all the ones we
- 23:10Speaker 5: have there are all oil drive S. Is your your
- 23:13Speaker 5: entry level, so that's that's going to give you. I
- 23:15Speaker 5: mean I say entry level. It's still got all the
- 23:17Speaker 5: power options, keep with century everything like that. So I
- 23:20Speaker 5: mean it's our We don't like to use the word
- 23:22Speaker 5: base model because it doesn't sound good.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Yeah it's your entry level entry it's your entry level.
- 23:28Speaker 4: But it still comes well.
- 23:29Speaker 5: If we have the s c S, the s E S,
- 23:31Speaker 5: the SC blacks, I guess i'm s c LS. I
- 23:34Speaker 5: mean colors, which Volkswagen isn't notoriously known for having a
- 23:41Speaker 5: broad color pal so we got some colors come down
- 23:44Speaker 5: and take a look at them. Like I said, we
- 23:46Speaker 5: literally have something for everybody.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Uh, this Wolfsburg edition, Yes, for the tigue one, tell
- 23:54Speaker 2: me about that. Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 5: So Wolfsburg is something that Volkswagen does right as like
- 24:00Speaker 5: they're getting ready to move into like a model refresh,
- 24:04Speaker 5: so they'll do an addition what's called the Wolfsburg And
- 24:06Speaker 5: what they do is try and stuff a bunch of
- 24:08Speaker 5: features into a tig One and keep the price point low.
- 24:11Speaker 5: And so Wolfsburg is gonna have powerlift gate, it's gonna
- 24:16Speaker 5: have heated seats, it's gonna have sunri it's gonna have leather,
- 24:19Speaker 5: it's gonna have power navigation.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 5: I mean it's stuffed with features and you're not paying
- 24:25Speaker 5: a premium for it.
- 24:27Speaker 2: The powerlift gate is something that I was talking about
- 24:32Speaker 2: for that Wolfsburg edition, uh the other day on the air,
- 24:37Speaker 2: and I was saying for guys like me that have
- 24:43Speaker 2: some morethopedicissues, and I was just I was just saying, uh,
- 24:51Speaker 2: I think Thursday or Friday last week, that the left arm,
- 24:54Speaker 2: it doesn't go any higher than this. It's that's it
- 24:57Speaker 2: right there, right arm. A little bit more but not much.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And to have that, I know, I sound like an
- 25:04Speaker 2: old guy.
- 25:05Speaker 6: Man.
- 25:05Speaker 2: But to have that that luxury of being able to
- 25:08Speaker 2: hit a button and it's going down, I mean that's awesome.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it gives you that Wolfsburg gives you a lot
- 25:14Speaker 5: of the features that people don't think that they can
- 25:17Speaker 5: afford because they think it's gonna cost him too much money.
- 25:19Speaker 5: But it keeps it out a price point where it's
- 25:22Speaker 5: really a consumer car. I mean, yeah, you're it's a
- 25:25Speaker 5: premium car, but you're not paying a premium price for it.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yes, I have a car now for the first time
- 25:31Speaker 2: in my life, I have heated seats.
- 25:34Speaker 4: You'll never get away from them.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Now, That's what I was just gonna say. I don't
- 25:38Speaker 2: know how I'm ever gonna do it.
- 25:41Speaker 1: You.
- 25:42Speaker 2: And then and then I got another friend of mine
- 25:44Speaker 2: and he's like, yeah, but it doesn't have the heated
- 25:46Speaker 2: steering wheel and I'm like, not no. And he's like, well,
- 25:49Speaker 2: once you do that.
- 25:50Speaker 4: You're not gonna you won't.
- 25:54Speaker 2: But it's a beautiful rig. It really is. Mont Peel
- 25:58Speaker 2: your Volkswagen dot Com. Can you shop and browse the
- 26:04Speaker 2: inventory right there from from home and can kind of

- 26:10Speaker 2: looking at.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah, online anytime on pillar Volkswagen dot Com search your inventory.
- 26:15Speaker 5: I mean, we even have a feature on our website

- 26:32Speaker 5: to really like to see it to make sure that
- 26:35Speaker 5: we're giving you the appropriate amount of money for it,
- 26:37Speaker 5: because it could be more. Yeah, you can build your
- 26:40Speaker 5: deal soup the nuts, I like to call it, and yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 5: save yourself some time, because like I said, nobody, nobody
- 26:47Speaker 5: wants to spend all day.
- 26:50Speaker 2: You know, every time I come over there. What what
- 26:53Speaker 2: I love is when I step onto the lot, you
- 27:00Speaker 2: guys aren't like, the doors aren't flying open, and you've
- 27:04Speaker 2: got staff jumping all over me. I love that. I
- 27:08Speaker 2: love that.
- 27:09Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a we're not gonna, not gonna, not gonna
- 27:13Speaker 5: bum rush.
- 27:14Speaker 2: And I think that is such a such an important thing,
- 27:19Speaker 2: because here's the thing. Looking at it online is one thing.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Getting in the car and driving over to the lot
- 27:24Speaker 2: and and getting out of your car and really looking
- 27:26Speaker 2: at something up close and maybe reading the sticker for
- 27:29Speaker 2: a little bit is another thing. But to to not
- 27:32Speaker 2: have you know, somebody right there, you know, on top
- 27:36Speaker 2: of you.
- 27:37Speaker 5: We'll come out'll come out and say idea and if
- 27:40Speaker 5: you have any questions.
- 27:41Speaker 4: You said, no, I'm just looking.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Yeah, right, I can look with you where I can
- 27:47Speaker 5: hand you my card and you let me know if
- 27:49Speaker 5: you have any question.
- 27:49Speaker 2: You might have questions.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I said, it's it's no pressure and it's transparency. Yeah,
- 27:57Speaker 5: the two things have repired yourself.
- 27:59Speaker 2: We want that, man, everybody wants transparency. I'm not sure
- 28:02Speaker 2: if we have Chris with us, Chrissy there, Nope, not there.
- 28:07Speaker 2: He must be busy. Yeah, I know.
- 28:15Speaker 4: He's not gonna get away with this.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Well he's uh, you know, and he on the Masta side,
- 28:20Speaker 2: on the other side of the wall there. Oh my god.
- 28:23Speaker 4: I mean it's like two different worlds, it really is.
- 28:27Speaker 2: But man, the luxury in both of these makes are
- 28:33Speaker 2: just incredible.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Yeah, it's literally like one side you walk in Volkswagen side,
- 28:37Speaker 5: it's like Germany, and you go on to the Master side.
- 28:42Speaker 2: You guys, ever get a little competitive. I got this, well,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I got this. You know, he's he's got the he's
- 28:50Speaker 2: got the lift there where he can put a car
- 28:52Speaker 2: the jewel box. Is that what that's called the jewel box?
- 28:55Speaker 2: What the hell's that all about? That's like serious showcase.
- 28:59Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. I mean cool.
- 29:02Speaker 5: I mean he's got he's got me there. I don't
- 29:04Speaker 5: have anything cool. Yeah, it's a it's a statement piece.
- 29:08Speaker 5: I mean you drive by from the road and you
- 29:10Speaker 5: can see the car, lift it yep in the air,
- 29:13Speaker 5: and you come in. You can walk underneathing, get an
- 29:15Speaker 5: idea of what it looks like underneath the car.
- 29:18Speaker 2: That's amazing, It's amazing. I'm just so impressed, you know.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I know a lot of time has passed since my
- 29:28Speaker 2: mom's uh what seventy eight, seventy nine Mazta with the
- 29:35Speaker 2: red final seats, But man, it's like when I roll
- 29:39Speaker 2: onto that lot and I just drive around and see
- 29:43Speaker 2: some of the models, I am so blown away. It's
- 29:47Speaker 2: really really impressive. What do you You don't have the
- 29:51Speaker 2: jewel box over on your side, but what do you
- 29:55Speaker 2: have that makes Chris Olsen maybe a little envious.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Well, we have our alignment PreCheck system.
- 30:08Speaker 5: I was wondering if yeah, he's got his service drive,
- 30:13Speaker 5: but he doesn't have one clay like mine.
- 30:15Speaker 4: So was a little competitive.
- 30:17Speaker 2: That's all this tell me about this thing, man. I
- 30:21Speaker 2: mean when I when I the first day I went
- 30:24Speaker 2: over there, you gave me a tour, a walk through
- 30:27Speaker 2: of everything, and I was literally speechless on that.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:31Speaker 5: So it's we have our service drive. You pull right
- 30:33Speaker 5: up and the door comes up as soon as you
- 30:36Speaker 5: pull up to the door, and you won't even know it,
- 30:38Speaker 5: but as you drive into the service bay, you're actually
- 30:41Speaker 5: getting an alignment PreCheck in real time. And by the
- 30:44Speaker 5: time you walk into see ray or they come out
- 30:47Speaker 5: and greet you, they're gonna have a sheet of paper,
- 30:50Speaker 5: we'll tell you the status of the alignment on your vehicle.
- 30:52Speaker 2: What's this thing? Right? Five hundred bucks the unit.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good start.
- 31:01Speaker 2: It's a lot.
- 31:03Speaker 4: That's not a drop in the bucket.
- 31:06Speaker 2: This is some serious technology man.
- 31:09Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the pre check system itself was well into
- 31:17Speaker 5: the tens of thousands dollars. I'm sure over over the
- 31:23Speaker 5: fifties of thousands.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Sure, but it's like super super uh high tech. And
- 31:30Speaker 2: as you said, it's checking your alignment as you're pulling in,
- 31:35Speaker 2: so you're gonna know as the as the car owner,
- 31:38Speaker 2: you're going to know.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Right, and we give you. We give you a copy
- 31:41Speaker 4: of it.
- 31:41Speaker 5: And actually in real time too, as you drive to
- 31:43Speaker 5: it takes about seventy pictures all the way around your vehicle. Wow,
- 31:47Speaker 5: so that you can see if there's damages and scratches dense. Yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 5: you might not notice.
- 31:53Speaker 2: So listen. Every single year at this time, Jason, I
- 31:58Speaker 2: complain about the potholes. It's not just the potholes, it's
- 32:04Speaker 2: the frost eaves. It's the back of my head slapping
- 32:06Speaker 2: up against it. My my, uh my, my seat. Oh
- 32:13Speaker 2: you got them? Now? You call this number? Oh oh,
- 32:16Speaker 2: all right, yeah, did you? Yeah, you're gonna He's not.
- 32:22Speaker 4: He's not slipping out of this.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Are you going to continue to give him crap today?
- 32:26Speaker 4: I like to keep him honest.
- 32:30Speaker 2: All right, Let's see if we can uh, let's see
- 32:33Speaker 2: if we can reach him. And here's another thing, is
- 32:36Speaker 2: is I want to I want to get with you
- 32:40Speaker 2: guys over there and and just sit down and have
- 32:45Speaker 2: a conversation about this in each of your your dealerships
- 32:50Speaker 2: right there. I would like to do that. I hit
- 32:57Speaker 2: a I hit potholes almost every day. I hit some
- 33:03Speaker 2: frost heaves that are just I think I may have
- 33:07Speaker 2: caught some air. You know, it's unbelievable talents. God man,
- 33:16Speaker 2: it's it's it, and it just seems like it gets
- 33:19Speaker 2: worse every year, and it definitely seems like it's like
- 33:22Speaker 2: this is the worst. I would like to come over there,
- 33:29Speaker 2: and maybe we'll bring Cam along and have him shoot
- 33:33Speaker 2: the whole thing. But I would like to come over
- 33:35Speaker 2: there and give our listeners kind of a snapshot of
- 33:41Speaker 2: what it's like to pull through, to pull into the bay,
- 33:45Speaker 2: and to have have you guys get a good look
- 33:50Speaker 2: at my alignment and tell me right off because I
- 33:55Speaker 2: hit I hit one not long ago that wheel.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Ah.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Man, Listen, when it's when it's so when you hit
- 34:04Speaker 2: something so bad that it throws you into neutral uh
- 34:09Speaker 2: and all of the ship on your dashboard lands up
- 34:13Speaker 2: on your lap uh huh, and you need to pull
- 34:16Speaker 2: over immediately afterwards, and.
- 34:18Speaker 4: You go from the front seat to the back seat.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm not kidding. My hat was like
- 34:25Speaker 2: it was like this after and I pulled. I pulled
- 34:28Speaker 2: right over, and I was like, oh, there it is.
- 34:31Speaker 2: That's it. That's definitely a flat tire.
- 34:35Speaker 6: Uh.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Chris, you with us? Yes, I am, Hey, we got
- 34:38Speaker 2: we got him with us.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Hey man, only dodge the bullet for so long?
- 34:42Speaker 2: Were you sleeping?
- 34:46Speaker 6: No?
- 34:47Speaker 2: No, listen, man, you've got the you've got the jewel box,
- 34:53Speaker 2: but your your cohort here. He's got the service bay
- 34:58Speaker 2: with the the alignment station. Man.
- 35:01Speaker 6: What do you say, Well, I mean we share the
- 35:05Speaker 6: alignment station. Oh no, he's got the roles. He's got
- 35:08Speaker 6: the role through alignment. I know they get all the
- 35:10Speaker 6: fancy stuff.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Didn't know.
- 35:12Speaker 4: I have to have something. You've got to give me something.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Yeah, how how long have you been doing this? And
- 35:21Speaker 2: I know you're you're over in Burlington. Tell me a
- 35:23Speaker 2: little bit about what's going on in Burlington?
- 35:26Speaker 6: Yeah, Burlington's uh, well, I mean it's the same at
- 35:29Speaker 6: both both stores, you know. I mean I've I've been
- 35:32Speaker 6: as a general manager since we opened up here about
- 35:36Speaker 6: five years, so actually five years and three months, okay,
- 35:41Speaker 6: six months. So but you know, we've got a lot
- 35:46Speaker 6: going on. There's a you know, on the sales in
- 35:49Speaker 6: we've got great APR rates and we have a whole
- 35:52Speaker 6: bunch of zero down leases that are are on really
- 35:57Speaker 6: premium cars. So it's you know, there's there's a lot
- 36:01Speaker 6: going on. There's always a lot going on with Mas
- 36:02Speaker 6: there's always a lot going on with both stores. You know,
- 36:05Speaker 6: it's two great brands down there.
- 36:06Speaker 2: So yeah, I was just I was just saying to
- 36:09Speaker 2: Jason that, you know, if you haven't in your mind,
- 36:14Speaker 2: and I think you and I have had this conversation too,
- 36:16Speaker 2: if you have in your mind that the Mazda is
- 36:20Speaker 2: like the Mazda that my mom had in the late seventies, uh,
- 36:25Speaker 2: you are sorely mistaken because this is this is a
- 36:28Speaker 2: luxury vehicle.
- 36:29Speaker 6: Now You're you're completely missing out if that's what you
- 36:34Speaker 6: think MASA is nowadays. I mean, it's the fit and finish.
- 36:39Speaker 6: You know, it's not just I don't I say that,
- 36:42Speaker 6: And you know, of course, you know I'm always we're
- 36:43Speaker 6: always a little bit biased when we when we live,
- 36:46Speaker 6: eat and breathe these things. But the fit and finish,
- 36:49Speaker 6: you look at any of the reviews, the fit and
- 36:51Speaker 6: finish on these cars is is really second to none.
- 36:56Speaker 6: You know, they they compare it to cars like Lexus
- 37:00Speaker 6: and BMW and Volvo, and you know, they don't compare
- 37:04Speaker 6: the fit and finished to a Toyota or a Hyundai
- 37:09Speaker 6: or a Kia. It's it's a completely different car than
- 37:12Speaker 6: what we were accustomed to back in the seventies, eighties
- 37:16Speaker 6: and the dark days when Ford kind of owned part
- 37:19Speaker 6: of them.
- 37:20Speaker 2: So are you guys, are you guys having do you
- 37:26Speaker 2: have any because I'm getting asked here any comments or
- 37:34Speaker 2: concern or reaction or anything. And I ask both of
- 37:38Speaker 2: you this about the tariffs and how that may or
- 37:43Speaker 2: may not affect the automobile industry.
- 37:48Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'll jump in on that.
- 37:50Speaker 6: I without being too political, you know, at all, I
- 37:55Speaker 6: think the tariffs are gonna be some of those things
- 37:59Speaker 6: that affect us in a lot of ways, not just cars.
- 38:04Speaker 6: You know, there's a really really strong trade agreement, the
- 38:09Speaker 6: the last one that they signed that that the current
- 38:13Speaker 6: administration back down went back to that trade agreement. And
- 38:17Speaker 6: I think there's gonna be a lot of encouragement to
- 38:21Speaker 6: bring some plants to America. Volkswagen has done it already,
- 38:23Speaker 6: Masa has done it already. So I think we'll see
- 38:26Speaker 6: that encouragement continue. But we but and we may see
- 38:32Speaker 6: you know, minor price increases or supply chain blips. But
- 38:37Speaker 6: this is this is something that all the manufacturers have
- 38:41Speaker 6: have have prepared for all maybe except for the domestics,
- 38:46Speaker 6: because they're based in America. They didn't see it coming
- 38:49Speaker 6: against them. But all of these importance that you know,
- 38:53Speaker 6: that's why we're all building plants in America, and we're
- 38:55Speaker 6: doing the things to bring jobs back to America and
- 38:58Speaker 6: you know, and build continue to build great cars.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh got a comment here. No one makes full
- 39:06Speaker 2: size sedans anymore. It's really disappointing. Uh do either if
- 39:11Speaker 2: you have any any reaction to that.
- 39:15Speaker 4: I mean, we we have the Jetta.
- 39:17Speaker 5: I mean it's it's not full size, but I mean,
- 39:21Speaker 5: I mean I think if you haven't gotten looked at one,
- 39:23Speaker 5: it's not the Jetta that you probably will looked at
- 39:26Speaker 5: back in twenty fifteen or twenty thirteen. I mean, it's elongated,
- 39:30Speaker 5: it's got plenty of leg room. I mean, I think
- 39:33Speaker 5: I think if you haven't looked at it, you're not
- 39:35Speaker 5: doing yourself the justice. So I think we do have
- 39:37Speaker 5: We do have a car in the Jetta that that
- 39:39Speaker 5: you can you could make do.
- 39:41Speaker 7: With, Chris, you got anything on that, and you know,
- 39:45Speaker 7: I mean, we don't have a full size sedan. We're smaller,
- 39:49Speaker 7: you know, obviously we're a smaller manufacturer than than our books,
- 39:52Speaker 7: like neighbors.
- 39:55Speaker 6: There's just not there's as much as I like them.
- 39:57Speaker 6: I look, I've owned three, We've owned read bigger sedans
- 40:01Speaker 6: in my household up until up until five six years ago,
- 40:06Speaker 6: and there's just not a demand for them. The Masa
- 40:09Speaker 6: six was a beautiful car. I was waiting for the
- 40:11Speaker 6: new one, and there's just not a demand for them.
- 40:13Speaker 6: There are, though, there are those star Wars that want them,
- 40:16Speaker 6: and I understand that it's just there's not a big
- 40:18Speaker 6: enough demand for that, right. The Jeta is a great
- 40:20Speaker 6: example of a great car that sort of fits in
- 40:22Speaker 6: the middle.
- 40:23Speaker 2: What do you what are some of the models that
- 40:26Speaker 2: are so popular right now for the Mastas.
- 40:31Speaker 6: All the c X fifty and the c X ninety,
- 40:34Speaker 6: flast seventy are are they just they? I'm shocked to
- 40:41Speaker 6: how fit fast they sell. The six fifty is made
- 40:43Speaker 6: in America. It's a gorgeous car, drives gorgeous, has some
- 40:48Speaker 6: utility to it. And then the c X ninety is
- 40:52Speaker 6: the three row suv. The seventies the two row same size,
- 40:56Speaker 6: but only two rows goes. They have in less than
- 41:05Speaker 6: a year they have sold more of these three row
- 41:09Speaker 6: SUVs than Masa sold three row SUVs the previous three years. Combined. Wow,
- 41:15Speaker 6: So it's a great, great car.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I just was just over at a lot a few
- 41:20Speaker 2: days ago and looking at one of the I think
- 41:23Speaker 2: it was a ninety Absolutely amazing. The leather, I mean,
- 41:27Speaker 2: just beautiful luxury.
- 41:31Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, without the it is twenty thousand dollars less
- 41:36Speaker 6: than comparable SUVs, isn't that something?
- 41:40Speaker 2: And you guys have some pre owned inventory. I think
- 41:44Speaker 2: you had a c X seventy that I don't even
- 41:47Speaker 2: know if it's still available, But is there any pre
- 41:50Speaker 2: owned inventory that you guys are like, look, man, get
- 41:55Speaker 2: over here, test drive this thing. It's probably not going
- 41:58Speaker 2: to last anything. Off the top of your head, you
- 42:01Speaker 2: want to mention.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Jason, don't we have forty seven pre owned cars?
- 42:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:05Speaker 6: Yeah, right now?
- 42:06Speaker 4: Yeahah yeah.
- 42:09Speaker 6: And there's no such thing as a as a as
- 42:11Speaker 6: a pre owned car factory. So you know, there's just
- 42:15Speaker 6: one of them, of all of them. I can't I
- 42:19Speaker 6: can't replicate that. I can't just go get another Blue
- 42:22Speaker 6: X five or another another I think you guys don't
- 42:25Speaker 6: you have a we have a Volkswagen Golf are yeah?
- 42:31Speaker 6: Pre owned?
- 42:32Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:32Speaker 6: Yeah? Like you never see that, Like, I I don't know,
- 42:35Speaker 6: I don't it's kind of been snowing, bad weather, So
- 42:38Speaker 6: I get it people haven't seen it, but I hope
- 42:41Speaker 6: my son doesn't see that car.
- 42:43Speaker 5: Yeah, we actually had We actually had to rearrange our
- 42:45Speaker 5: whole front lot because we have our pre owned inventory
- 42:48Speaker 5: has grown so much with the with the success of
- 42:52Speaker 5: both the stores recently, then we're actually making that predominantly
- 42:57Speaker 5: abuse lot with just some new cars as opposed to
- 43:01Speaker 5: vice versa.
- 43:01Speaker 2: What it was amazing And Chris, you're running back and forth.
- 43:06Speaker 2: You're headed from from Burlington to Montpillier all the time, right.
- 43:11Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I mean I've got I've got We've got
- 43:14Speaker 6: great staff in both locations. They both you know, what
- 43:17Speaker 6: you see in one store, you should see in the
- 43:19Speaker 6: other store. So well, I just like to be in
- 43:23Speaker 6: the stores a lot, So I do run back and forth.
- 43:26Speaker 6: But me and my me and my little dog, we
- 43:29Speaker 6: go back and forth and you know, hop out where
- 43:31Speaker 6: we can and try to stay out of their way
- 43:33Speaker 6: most of the time.
- 43:34Speaker 2: So what's the deal with Poppy Is he's the he's
- 43:38Speaker 2: the Masta mascot, Is that right?
- 43:42Speaker 6: Well? Yeah, I mean yeah, he's uh, he's about a
- 43:48Speaker 6: year old rescue Chihuahva jack ruffle mix and uh, you know,
- 43:55Speaker 6: as you know, our supergroup as a whole, we support
- 43:58Speaker 6: those uh Vermont rescue organizations for for for Canines, for
- 44:04Speaker 6: Love of Dogs Vermont. Right, they're going to be down
- 44:07Speaker 6: in Montpelier in a couple of months, yep, with an
- 44:11Speaker 6: adoption event. So you know we we we're just as
- 44:15Speaker 6: dog friendly as you'll find anywhere.
- 44:16Speaker 2: So how was that adoption event that you guys just did.
- 44:21Speaker 6: The one in South Burlington was enormous. They brought and
- 44:24Speaker 6: adopted six of.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Them, eight dogs and they adopted six yep. Wow, Yeah,
- 44:31Speaker 2: that's a huge, that's incredible. I gotta be honest with
- 44:36Speaker 2: you though, Mave's a little sensitive and you know, we
- 44:44Speaker 2: don't want to have poppies stealing too much thunder when
- 44:49Speaker 2: uh when he comes from from Burlington over to Montpelier.
- 44:53Speaker 2: All right, because maf is kind of running the show
- 44:55Speaker 2: over there, you should just like it is, buddy, I mean,
- 45:00Speaker 2: this is the this is a fact here you.
- 45:03Speaker 6: Could see you should see him play together and you
- 45:05Speaker 6: watch me Eve and you know who's a bott Yeah.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Yeah, so she's a lot.
- 45:10Speaker 2: So who is who is Mave? Jason may Is? I
- 45:15Speaker 2: almost died when I walked in there. And saw me.
- 45:18Speaker 5: So maybe is my nine month old French bulldog. We
- 45:24Speaker 5: got her early last summer from Barclayill French and uh
- 45:29Speaker 5: she is.
- 45:31Speaker 4: She's a unit.
- 45:32Speaker 5: Yeah, she's our own mascot. She comes to work whenever
- 45:35Speaker 5: my life lets me take her.
- 45:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 5: Uh so she'll actually she'll actually be at work tomorrow
- 45:41Speaker 5: because Wednesdays, Chris is a down Marsden and she gets
- 45:45Speaker 5: to play with her friends down there.
- 45:46Speaker 2: So I want, I want you guys to just take
- 45:49Speaker 2: a minute here, it doesn't matter who goes first, uh,
- 45:52Speaker 2: and and give some love to your team members because
- 45:57Speaker 2: one of the things that I am constantly on both
- 46:00Speaker 2: of your Facebook pages is that you guys give great
- 46:06Speaker 2: kudos to your team, to your staff members that go
- 46:10Speaker 2: above and beyond and they work so hard. And you
- 46:14Speaker 2: also do a great job showcasing people's lives changing when
- 46:19Speaker 2: they come in and they've got a vehicle that is
- 46:24Speaker 2: a total life changer for them, that something that's reliable,
- 46:27Speaker 2: that's safe, that they are so excited about, and you
- 46:30Speaker 2: show that right on your social media. But your team
- 46:32Speaker 2: members are fantastic and it's not just the Dave show
- 46:40Speaker 2: over it at Volkswagen. But yeah, go ahead give give
- 46:43Speaker 2: some love to them.
- 46:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, without without everybody there, I mean, Chris
- 46:49Speaker 5: nor I would be able to do what we do
- 46:52Speaker 5: or have the success that either these stores have had.
- 46:54Speaker 5: I mean, doesn't I think we're on the same wavelength there.
- 46:58Speaker 5: You can't do it with one person. It really takes
- 47:01Speaker 5: a village. I mean it might sound old and corny,
- 47:03Speaker 5: but it really does. I mean, and to have everybody
- 47:06Speaker 5: on my side, and I know it's the same on
- 47:08Speaker 5: Mas's side. Everybody pulling in the same direction, that wants
- 47:11Speaker 5: to come to work, that wants to do the right thing,
- 47:13Speaker 5: that wants to just help people. I mean, it's you
- 47:16Speaker 5: don't find that very often, and it's it's refreshing to see.
- 47:21Speaker 5: And I can't thank Josh, my sales manager.
- 47:26Speaker 4: I got Dave and.
- 47:27Speaker 5: Sales, Chris and sales, Connor and sales, Rick and sales,
- 47:30Speaker 5: and everybody in service department, from Dennis the service manager,
- 47:34Speaker 5: all the way down to Ray the assistant service manager.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Kim we just hired as a new advisor. Even my
- 47:40Speaker 4: shuttle driver Rod, I mean he is.
- 47:42Speaker 5: I mean, and all the technicians out back, I mean
- 47:45Speaker 5: they're really they come in, they're committed and they just
- 47:50Speaker 5: want to do, want to do more and do better
- 47:53Speaker 5: every day. So yeah, you don't find that very often.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Chris, what say you.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Well, you know, I mean we have Jesus is absolutely right.
- 48:02Speaker 6: I mean it takes it takes a village. Everybody has
- 48:05Speaker 6: to be moving in the same direction. And you know,
- 48:09Speaker 6: a lot the not the guys out back and the
- 48:12Speaker 6: girls out back that you know, the service department don't
- 48:15Speaker 6: get a lot of face time with everybody, but you know,
- 48:18Speaker 6: on both sides, but really on the MASA side, you know,
- 48:20Speaker 6: because that's what I'm most familiar with. With JJ and Patrick,
- 48:24Speaker 6: Brandon and CJ. Those are four technicians out back, and
- 48:29Speaker 6: Kristen and Rusty in the service department. They do the
- 48:33Speaker 6: hard work every day to keep the keep keep everything moving,
- 48:37Speaker 6: keep everybody on the road. It's the hardest. Yeah, it's
- 48:42Speaker 6: the hardest job in the building, you know. And then
- 48:45Speaker 6: of course we have we have all of the sales
- 48:48Speaker 6: reps are really kind of new to Mazda, but they
- 48:51Speaker 6: picked us up real quick and they learned the product.
- 48:54Speaker 6: You know, We've got a couple of people with a
- 48:56Speaker 6: little bit of experience and a couple two others that
- 48:58Speaker 6: are new. With Chris, I'm sorry. Paula and Hendrich have
- 49:03Speaker 6: been around a little while, and then Callie is uh
- 49:06Speaker 6: and Bailey is our newest. There are too newest and
- 49:09Speaker 6: and they move along and they're led by you know, Derek,
- 49:14Speaker 6: our sales manager. And we've got Stephanie who is does
- 49:19Speaker 6: double duty, the only person that does double duty between
- 49:21Speaker 6: both stores.
- 49:22Speaker 2: So are either of you hiring?
- 49:27Speaker 5: I think right now at this point in time, I
- 49:29Speaker 5: think I'm I'm not at this time. But it doesn't
- 49:34Speaker 5: I never tell somebody not to come down and drop
- 49:37Speaker 5: off an application or a resume. I mean, because things
- 49:40Speaker 5: can change any day.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Sure, Chris, what about you?
- 49:45Speaker 6: Yeah, we we aren't at the moment. You know, it's
- 49:50Speaker 6: the Masa pieces. Really it's smaller than the folks like inside.
- 49:54Speaker 6: So it's just growing little by little. We did just
- 49:57Speaker 6: insallve some new workstations, spent a bunch of money or
- 50:00Speaker 6: brand new building, and then spend another bunch of money
- 50:02Speaker 6: installing new workstations. I hope that we'll need uh some
- 50:07Speaker 6: people come summer or the end of summer, and as
- 50:12Speaker 6: we keep growing. But you know, there's there's again, just
- 50:17Speaker 6: like Jason said, there's you know, we want to see
- 50:19Speaker 6: people that are willing to work, willing to learn, So
- 50:23Speaker 6: it doesn't I wouldn't persuade that some for somebody to
- 50:26Speaker 6: coming in and and inquiring so we can meet you
- 50:30Speaker 6: and you know, see what, see what the plans will
- 50:33Speaker 6: check out later down the road.
- 50:35Speaker 2: I was over there one day and you guys were
- 50:40Speaker 2: smoking a couple of turkeys for your staff, and you
- 50:45Speaker 2: had this huge table.
- 50:48Speaker 4: Can wait wait wait wait, we don't.
- 50:51Speaker 6: We didn't.
- 50:51Speaker 4: We didn't give the.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Store.
- 50:55Speaker 6: There's a there's probably the the unsung hero in the building.
- 51:00Speaker 6: He's the blue we didn't mention. We didn't. He's kind
- 51:03Speaker 6: of like the center point of everything. And that's the
- 51:05Speaker 6: guy that was taken in smoking these turkeys, and that's Kent.
- 51:09Speaker 6: I actually don't know what Kent's title is. He said
- 51:12Speaker 6: jack of all trades. He said he's the hub of
- 51:15Speaker 6: the spokes. So yeah, yeah, So that's why I'm glad
- 51:21Speaker 6: you brought that up, because wait.
- 51:23Speaker 2: A second, Jason told me that it was his smoker
- 51:26Speaker 2: and that he was doing all this. He was he
- 51:29Speaker 2: was getting all of it.
- 51:31Speaker 6: He could tell you, He could tell you that all
- 51:33Speaker 6: he wants.
- 51:37Speaker 2: But you guys, I was like, damn, I want to
- 51:41Speaker 2: work here, man. You guys got this like fifty foot
- 51:44Speaker 2: long table. You've got the whole spread, the pies, the turkey,
- 51:49Speaker 2: the everything. I was like, oh my god, that's awesome.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, we did that for Thanksgiving.
- 51:57Speaker 4: This is one thing we like to do. We like
- 51:58Speaker 4: to show.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Everybody that works for us how appreciated they are, because
- 52:03Speaker 5: I think sometimes that gets that gets lost and a
- 52:07Speaker 5: lot of people just expect it, and I don't think
- 52:11Speaker 5: that some of the guys in the shop are really
- 52:14Speaker 5: They get told how good of a job they're doing
- 52:17Speaker 5: when it really.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Should be on a daily basis, but life happens.
- 52:20Speaker 5: So we like to show everybody how much we appreciate them,
- 52:23Speaker 5: if it's just having a big lunch, sitting down talking
- 52:27Speaker 5: to each other, or taking a minute to step away
- 52:30Speaker 5: from the work life even though you're still at work and.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Just be a human exactly.
- 52:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I love that this past Christmas and holiday season, you
- 52:43Speaker 2: guys really pulled out all the stops. He had a
- 52:46Speaker 2: huge Christmas party at both dealerships. You had Santa Claus,
- 52:51Speaker 2: who kind of looks like one of your sales guys.
- 52:55Speaker 2: And I'm just saying there's some resemblance there, that's all.
- 52:57Speaker 4: I'm saying it might be a distant cousin could be.
- 53:00Speaker 2: But I mean you had the elves running around. One
- 53:03Speaker 2: of the elves looked remarkably like Chris Olsen, just saying buddy,
- 53:10Speaker 2: except for the year.
- 53:11Speaker 6: But then, listen, listen, listen, Let's be careful. We don't
- 53:14Speaker 6: you know, don't we don't. We don't talk about some
- 53:17Speaker 6: of these things.
- 53:20Speaker 2: But you guys love what you do. You and you
- 53:23Speaker 2: love being part of the community and having community events
- 53:27Speaker 2: at just welcoming people to come through your doors, whether
- 53:30Speaker 2: they're buying in the market for buying a new car
- 53:33Speaker 2: or not. And I love that.
- 53:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it's you even had they're in our
- 53:39Speaker 5: trunk retreat event. You had me and Chris walking around
- 53:41Speaker 5: dressed as a dumb and dumber So yeah, I mean
- 53:44Speaker 5: in the full dress to the nine. I mean, it's
- 53:47Speaker 5: a Chris and I both share the same idea that
- 53:51Speaker 5: we can't do what we do without the community. So
- 53:54Speaker 5: anyway that we're constantly looking for ways that we can
- 53:56Speaker 5: give back to the community, be it big or small,
- 53:59Speaker 5: and just to let people know that we're here in that.
- 54:01Speaker 4: We don't just want to sell your car.
- 54:02Speaker 2: We actually care.
- 54:04Speaker 4: About the community and we want to put the community
- 54:06Speaker 4: first because that's where our roots are.
- 54:08Speaker 5: Is something that we're always willing to do.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Sure, I can't thank you guys enough for everything that
- 54:14Speaker 2: you do for our community. And you know, Chris Jason
- 54:20Speaker 2: said the word transparency several times this morning. That's what
- 54:24Speaker 2: I love about you guys, both sides, both sides of
- 54:27Speaker 2: that wall. You guys are a transparent, well oiled machine,
- 54:32Speaker 2: and you're honest and straightforward and you just say it
- 54:36Speaker 2: like it is. And that's you know, you say high performance,
- 54:39Speaker 2: low pressure home with a big deal. But there's a
- 54:42Speaker 2: lot more than just that. It's just honesty, transparency, relationships.
- 54:49Speaker 2: That's what is going to keep you afloat.
- 54:53Speaker 6: Yeah, you can't say it any better than that. I mean,
- 54:58Speaker 6: and there's a lot of places I'll talk about trans expariency,
- 55:00Speaker 6: but it's we it's complicated as everybody makes it out
- 55:05Speaker 6: to be. It's really a simple it's a simple business.
- 55:08Speaker 6: Just treat people right, Just treat you know's there's that
- 55:11Speaker 6: old treat people how you like to be treated, And
- 55:16Speaker 6: I mean that it is so it's still true. It's
- 55:19Speaker 6: so true. And if you don't, you know, if you're
- 55:22Speaker 6: not going to do that if you're not going to
- 55:24Speaker 6: treat people like that, this is not the place for you,
- 55:29Speaker 6: you know, and our customers are our customers come first,
- 55:32Speaker 6: and you know, bad things happen, things go wrong, things break,
- 55:34Speaker 6: things happen, and you know, you just got to do
- 55:39Speaker 6: everything we can to make everything right and and in
- 55:41Speaker 6: the end of the day, treat people like you'd like
- 55:43Speaker 6: to be treated yourself.
- 55:44Speaker 2: So well, listen, I'm going to be over test driving
- 55:47Speaker 2: something soon on the Volkswagen side and the Masta side.
- 55:51Speaker 2: I would love to bring Cam with me, and to
- 55:56Speaker 2: bring not just Cam, but bring all of our viewers
