Devendra Banhart, the enigmatic musical wizard, has teamed up with guitarist Gyan Riley and producer Noah Georgeson to launch their new project Hug — and it’s already got major buzz. Their debut album, also titled Hug, drops September 11 on David Byrne’s Luaka Bop label, featuring 10 tracks including the dreamy lead single “Cow With Half Moon Parasol.” The trio’s chemistry? Pure magic — Georgeson and Banhart have collaborated before, and Riley and Georgeson are childhood friends who bonded over classical guitar.
