- 0:10Father Father's Day, Some thoughts about our Father.
- 0:13And the spiritual connection that we could all make, plus
- 0:16some new information from the Urantia Foundation on global
- 0:20growth of the Urantia book and so much more.
- 0:22So and thank you for joining us on your Rancher Radio.
- 0:36Well, we are together. Again, and it's good to be here
- 0:38and I call. This episode Father's Day
- 0:41because. For many of us, it.
- 0:43Is of. Course, the weekend where we
- 0:45celebrate fathers and there's so much to say about fathers and I
- 0:50want to make an introduction that I am a father and.
- 0:54I've said before. Maybe even on.
- 0:57These podcasts that. Be becoming a father really
- 1:02revealed to me what it is. Like for the father?
- 1:06And the way that he treats. Us as we are and where?
- 1:10We are, and there's a lot to say.
- 1:12About the fact that. In today's.
- 1:14Society, fatherhood is is. A vague concept.
- 1:18To a lot of people who have. Been raised in broken homes and
- 1:23in my own experience there was a period of my life, my early
- 1:26years. Where?
- 1:28Through circumstances beyond my control that I was not able to
- 1:31see my dad, but. Later I was.
- 1:33Fortunate enough to form a wonderful relationship with him
- 1:38that lasted well into my adulthood and I'm so.
- 1:41Grateful for that. He died at a somewhat early.
- 1:45Age but I. Miss him terribly, and I think
- 1:48often about his gentleness and his kindness and his giving.
- 1:53He didn't have much, but he gave.
- 1:54What he could to try to provide a stable.
- 1:57Environment and it it's a terrible thing, so many.
- 2:02People have had. No fathers and the Urantia book
- 2:08talks about the the where the formation in the ideation of a
- 2:13father is is almost impossible to attain if you have not had
- 2:17the earthly experience of having a loving father.
- 2:21And this I think why is we were just talking about this with a.
- 2:24Psychiatrist. On.
- 2:26A radio program that I do that. The lack of fatherhood.
- 2:29Has created anxiety for a lot of young people and that it has
- 2:35forced them to. Try to.
- 2:37Figure it out on their own. So imagine.
- 2:40How beautiful a. Revelation.
- 2:42It is when we are. Told.
- 2:44In the Arantia book, and certainly in in the greatest
- 2:47religions, Christianity. That the father is really the
- 2:51basis of brotherhood. And.
- 2:52Without that fatherhood. Connection.
- 2:56The How can you possibly have a global world of brothers and
- 3:00sisters without the father? Concept the the.
- 3:04Idea of brotherhood. Is simply what is it based on?
- 3:10And today, more than half of the marriages end in divorce, which
- 3:15means someone has to pick up the pieces and try.
- 3:17To put it all back. Together again, and we wonder
- 3:20why. They're so sad.
- 3:21So much sadness. So this weekend we celebrate
- 3:25fatherhood. We celebrated because we should
- 3:28celebrate fatherhood and. I wanted to just talk a.
- 3:30Little bit about. Ways that we can communicate
- 3:33better with the father and I'll I'll let you know that I'm going
- 3:37to be a guest on a podcast with Santiago Nealon and Santiago and
- 3:44some of the. Folks over at.
- 3:46Center for Unity, You know Gabriel?
- 3:48Reinberg's great project introducing Christ to through
- 3:52through the. Urantia Book.
- 3:53Teachings to the Masses. Gabriel, by the way, I I hope
- 3:58he's well, It's of course. Over the weekend, we.
- 4:02Heard that, Israel. Launching attacks into the
- 4:05nuclear. Sites.
- 4:06Taking out military leadership in Iran.
- 4:10To stave off. A potential nuclear race and.
- 4:16And so this puts Israel. Again, in harm's way something
- 4:18they're they're. Sort of used to so our prayers.
- 4:21Go to the people all over the middle.
- 4:23East. We hope that they.
- 4:27Can get through this with the least amount of bloodshed.
- 4:31By the way. If you look in the Urantia book,
- 4:34Iran and Israel have had a long contentious relationship, even
- 4:39going back. To Zoraster, who was the I guess
- 4:44he was. It was from him that the
- 4:47Mithraism was the religion of Persia during the times of
- 4:50Christ and. In fact, we get our.
- 4:53Religion from Mithras. Or we get our.
- 4:55Christmas Day of December 25th from Mithras and during the
- 5:01early Christian conversions many of the Mithraic peoples.
- 5:04Are people whose. Whose religion was Mithraic
- 5:08eventually won over. We're won over to Christianity.
- 5:13It's a it's a shame that Christianity didn't stick in in
- 5:16Persia. Things would.
- 5:17Be a lot different if they had. So our prayers go out to the
- 5:21folks over. In Israel, and particularly
- 5:25anyone in harm's way from these battles of the kings.
- 5:29All right, so. I want to read to you something.
- 5:32About fathers something. That Jesus said.
- 5:36To his apostles and this comes. From paper 157 where Jesus is
- 5:42standing, and he says to his. 12 Apostles.
- 5:45This is early in the beginning. Of the public.
- 5:47Preaching, he says to them, You are my chosen ambassadors.
- 5:51But I know that in the circumstance, you could not
- 5:54entertain this belief as a result of mere human knowledge.
- 5:58This is a. Revelation of the Spirit of the
- 6:00Father, my Father, to your inmost.
- 6:03Souls. And when therefore you make the
- 6:07confession by the insight of the Spirit?
- 6:10Of my father which dwells. Within you I am led to declare
- 6:14that upon this foundation. Will I build the Brotherhood?
- 6:18Of the Kingdom of Heaven. Upon this rock of spiritual
- 6:22reality will I build the. Living Temple.
- 6:25Of spiritual fellowship. In the eternal realities of my
- 6:29Father's Kingdom. All the forces of evil.
- 6:33And the hosts of sin shall not prevail against this human
- 6:36fraternity. Of the Divine Spirit.
- 6:40And while my. Father's spirit shall ever be
- 6:42the. Divine guide and mentor of all
- 6:45who enter the bonds of this. Spirit fellowship to you and
- 6:49your successors. I now.
- 6:50Deliver the keys. Of the outward Kingdom, the
- 6:54authority over things temporal, the social and economic.
- 6:58Features of this. Association of men and women as
- 7:02fellows of the Kingdom. And again he charged them for
- 7:05the time being that they should tell no man that he was the son
- 7:09of. God, Jesus was.
- 7:11Beginning to have faith in the loyalty and integrity.
- 7:15Of his apostles. The master conceived.
- 7:17That a faith. Which could stand what his
- 7:20chosen representatives had recently passed through would
- 7:24undoubtedly. Endure the fiery trials which
- 7:27were just ahead. And they would emerge from the
- 7:30apparent wreckage of all their hopes into the new light of a
- 7:34new dispensation. And thereby.
- 7:36Be able to. Go forth to enlighten a world
- 7:38sitting in darkness. On this day, the Master began to
- 7:42believe in the faith. Of his apostles.
- 7:45Save one, and the beginning of it is marked by the relationship
- 7:52establishment. Of the Father.
- 7:55And we, I'm going to be on this program as I mentioned in a
- 7:59couple of days and, and, and if you're listening to this.
- 8:02Podcast over father. 'S Day weekend, Santiago and I
- 8:06are. Going to talk about prayer.
- 8:08And it's come up on these. Podcasts that.
- 8:11We're at a time in human history and again, this relates to the
- 8:16breakdown of the family in many Western cultures, particularly
- 8:20in the West, where broken homes have resulted in broken dreams
- 8:25and people have been cut off from the.
- 8:27Spiritual circuit that the father provides to each of his
- 8:31children who were. Born with his image to be able
- 8:34to communicate with their inner spirit, That inner spirit light
- 8:38that allows them to connect this enormous gulf, this enormous
- 8:43bridge between paradise and we out here on this lowly blue
- 8:47planet. Far out at the edge of Jesus's.
- 8:51Domain of Nebadon and yet we are able almost like in the
- 8:56possession of Bluetooth. Or a cell.
- 8:58Phone, we can get the signal, but in order to get the signal,
- 9:02you have to turn on your cell phone, right?
- 9:05So that's a. A very.
- 9:07Bad metaphor, but. It sticks.
- 9:09Because in order. For us to.
- 9:11Contact the father. We need to be able to.
- 9:14Call the. Father and I firmly believe if
- 9:18there's any teaching that. Overrides every other.
- 9:20Teaching in the Urantia book, it's the importance of
- 9:23establishing that connection between the child and the
- 9:28parent, and it is that redeeming quality of being able to
- 9:34connect. With your earthly father.
- 9:36Just for me as it was. As it is.
- 9:39Also to connect with our Heavenly Father, most of the
- 9:43teachings that came from. Christ were centered.
- 9:46Around the relationship between the father and the.
- 9:49Child. The child has a right.
- 9:51To petition the father. The child has.
- 9:54Many rights endowed to him because he.
- 9:57Is a child. Of a loving father.
- 10:01But how do you teach? This to young people today.
- 10:04Who are the? Results of broken homes where
- 10:07perhaps they never. Saw their dad or.
- 10:09Maybe they had a tragedy happen. With their father.
- 10:13And fathers and and sons need each other, just like fathers
- 10:17and daughters need each other. But this has been downplayed in
- 10:22the current trajectory of our culture.
- 10:25We seem to assume that children will be fine if they just at
- 10:29least have their mother and the mother takes on a great role and
- 10:32has to compensate. For the the father who's not.
- 10:35There and she doesn't even realize the value and then it it
- 10:39is so truly unfortunate that so many young people when they get
- 10:43involved in relationships and they don't think what kind of a
- 10:47father is this person going to be?
- 10:50They're more focused on what what kind of husband he's going
- 10:53to be, but they should be thinking about long term.
- 10:57Is this the kind of of man that I want to raise my children and
- 11:02rear them in discipline and maturity?
- 11:06And it doesn't end when they turn 18, by the way.
- 11:08I know that for a fact. And many of the listeners to
- 11:12this program will will say the same thing, you know,
- 11:15fatherhood. Is is.
- 11:17Equally valuable not only to the children, but to the father.
- 11:20I've learned so many valuable lessons and I'm grateful for all
- 11:24of the lessons that my father taught me that I'm even.
- 11:27More appreciative of the the security.
- 11:30And the faith and the stability that I get from my spiritual
- 11:33Father and I and. Truth is, I.
- 11:36I don't call him enough. I probably could call on God a
- 11:39lot more and I I most likely don't.
- 11:42Because I just feel that there's other.
- 11:44People who who are in much greater need than me and I try
- 11:49to carry on as the ambassador. The ambassador.
- 11:51Of the Father. And it's an interesting concept.
- 11:54Go up to someone, a secular person that you know, and ask
- 11:59him do you believe? That God is a.
- 12:00Father and you, you might. Be surprised at what they tell
- 12:05you. Many people.
- 12:06Will will act as if you. Just introduced a foreign
- 12:10language to them and and it's mainly because.
- 12:14Our society has. Downplayed the fatherhood
- 12:17element of God and they look at him only as a creator who can
- 12:21either lessen or increase. Pain.
- 12:26The number one reason people don't believe in God?
- 12:28Is because if there was a God, why is?
- 12:30There so much pain in the. World.
- 12:33I've heard Jimmy Gervais say that.
- 12:37Many a time Ricky Gervais, I mean atheists are often
- 12:42conflicted by this. Idea that if there is truly a
- 12:45loving. Father.
- 12:45Why would he allow us to suffer well as the.
- 12:49Arantia book explains. It's about free.
- 12:52Will You cannot have free will without the potentiality of
- 12:55evil. Because it's the free will that
- 12:58gives us exercise over whether we choose the Father's way.
- 13:02Or the material. Way but.
- 13:05Again the father. Goes through these.
- 13:07Experiences with us. And through his.
- 13:09Spirit fragment. Tries to coerce.
- 13:12In a gentle way, can't push us, but he can guide us.
- 13:16He can offer us an alternative and this is where the.
- 13:20Power of prayer. Really kicks in because when
- 13:22you're in a life changing moment and you feel that you don't have
- 13:28an option and you take that moment at that time and it
- 13:31happened so many times. Where the pressures of life are.
- 13:35So insurmountable and you're forced and back into a corner.
- 13:40You don't know what to do. What is the right?
- 13:42Decision God please help me make the right decision and it is
- 13:47that personal spiritual motivation to.
- 13:49Find the truth that allows. The connection to occur between
- 13:54the father fragment and the father himself.
- 13:58Prayers are answered. It just happened a few days ago.
- 14:01I was in a situation where I really didn't know what to do.
- 14:05My backup was was up against the wall and I went to my father and
- 14:09I said what can I do? Give me show me the road map.
- 14:13I'm open to any suggestion you might have and within a couple.
- 14:17Of days I I I could clearly see that God had delivered.
- 14:22On the answer and it was a very natural occurrence and I was.
- 14:26Actually quite surprised. And I'm sure that.
- 14:29Jesus would have said why? Why were you surprised?
- 14:32And he'd be. Right, so we.
- 14:35Spent a few minutes talking about the importance.
- 14:37Of fathers. And it also tied into that.
- 14:41Is the. Importance of prayer.
- 14:44So here's what I'll suggest. To you if you have an
- 14:46opportunity. The podcast that I will be.
- 14:50On with Santiago. Who's Who's a great Your answer
- 14:54book reader? We're going to be talking about.
- 14:56Prayer, but we're. Also going to spend a little bit
- 14:58of time talking about. The podcast that.
- 15:01That you've been kind enough to enjoy with me on these your
- 15:04Rancher radio. Podcast So if you have a.
- 15:06Question and you would like me to answer.
- 15:10I can. I can certainly bring them up
- 15:12during the interview with Mr. Santiago and you can e-mail me
- 15:17any question you like. You have a question about the
- 15:19program. How we got here.
- 15:21My favorite stuff about. Anything that you feel like you
- 15:24want to just e-mail me urantiabookradio@gmail.com.
- 15:29Urantiabookradio@gmail.com. Take a quick.
- 15:33Break then I want to spend a little bit of time talking about
- 15:35the latest numbers on the Urantia book from the the most
- 15:39recent. Update I suppose.
- 15:41From the Urantia Foundation, so we'll take a.
- 15:43Quick break and. We'll come back.
- 15:45We'll just spend a few minutes on how the Urantia book is
- 15:48doing. And in the meantime, feel free
- 15:50again to e-mail me Jim Watkins. And that is Urantia.
- 15:54Book radio at. Gmail.com.
- 15:56Be right back. All right.
- 16:43Well, thanks to MO Siegel, president of the Urantia
- 16:45Foundation, he has issued out the latest comprehensive report
- 16:49on how the Urantia book is doing.
- 16:52I'll give you a. Couple of notes on this printed
- 16:552010. 1200 copies of the Urantia book in English, Portuguese and
- 16:59Spanish. This year held the first town
- 17:02hall meetings for the Spanish speaking readership.
- 17:05Which is. Huge and growing, they've also
- 17:08initiated the first round of the 2025 Mustard Seed Grants
- 17:11program, which you should take advantage of if you're an artist
- 17:15or you're a content producer and you have a.
- 17:19Deep, deep. Love for the Urantia book and
- 17:22you feel? Compelled to do.
- 17:23Something the Mustard Seed program will provide funding
- 17:27for. Projects so.
- 17:29You might want to look into that.
- 17:31I always like to know. Like where it's.
- 17:33Growing What's the online because to me, I think from this
- 17:37point on moving forward, we have to admit that the.
- 17:41Urantia. Book is probably most likely
- 17:43going to be spread online more so than although I.
- 17:47Think it's great to have a copy of the book.
- 17:49I have 5 I think I have. 5 But let's look at some of the
- 17:54statistics. 7% growth downloads. Over 2020. 4.
- 18:01Sales of the Urantia book totaled 4. 1650 Books.
- 18:04For the quarter, that's down. Slightly from.
- 18:07The first quarter. Of 2020. 4 total book.
- 18:10Distribution came to 16,000, that's down 36%.
- 18:16That's total book distribution. Downloads were down 43% from
- 18:212024 and donated. Books totaled 5. 122, that's 10%
- 18:27down from 2020. 4 so. This was not a good.
- 18:34Year for growth. Of the Urantia book based on.
- 18:38Just quarterly reports. What could that be?
- 18:42I wonder what the what do you think it?
- 18:44Is what gets. In the way of growth
- 18:48distractions, perhaps? Maybe things have become so
- 18:52political and divisive and heated that people aren't
- 18:56looking. For spiritual truth.
- 18:59A breakdown and and I know that we've.
- 19:01Heard stories about the breakdown of.
- 19:04Church attendance and. I have a perspective.
- 19:09About that, I think that most church attendance, if it's down,
- 19:13it's. Because the church itself has,
- 19:15sort of. Lost its ground.
- 19:18For lack. Of a better term, it's become
- 19:20woke we we spend more time trying to fix.
- 19:26Our ails, our spiritual ills through.
- 19:30Medicine and noise and there's, there's a lot more noise now
- 19:33than there used to be. If you notice everybody's
- 19:36staring into their smartphones skimming through the news and,
- 19:41and it gets, you know, rather time consuming.
- 19:44I like to spend my time as much as I can when I can, just
- 19:48reading passages from the Arantia book.
- 19:54I want to close with this. Particular paragraph since we
- 19:57are celebrating Father's Day with this.
- 20:02It's from the nature. Of the Father.
- 20:04In the first. Papers.
- 20:07And I'll close with. This it says.
- 20:08As we see the universal. Father revealed throughout.
- 20:12His universe as we discern him in dwelling the myriads of
- 20:16creatures. As we behold.
- 20:18Him in the persons of His sovereign sons, as we continue
- 20:21to sense His divine presence here and there near.
- 20:26And afar let. Us not doubt nor question his
- 20:29personality primacy. Notwithstanding all these
- 20:34far-flung distributions, he remains a true person and
- 20:38everlastingly maintains personal connection with the countless.
- 20:43Hosts of his creatures scattered throughout the.
- 20:45Universe of universes. The idea?
- 20:50Of the personality of the Universal Father is an enlarged
- 20:54and truer concept of God which has come to mankind.
- 20:58Chiefly through revelation. Reason, wisdom, and religious
- 21:03experience all infer and imply the personality.
- 21:07Of God, but. They do not.
- 21:09Altogether validate it. Even the indwelling.
- 21:13Thought adjuster. Is pre personal the truth and
- 21:16maturity of any religion is directly proportional to its
- 21:21concept of the infinite personality of God and to.
- 21:25Its grasp of the absolute. Unity of Deity.
- 21:30The idea? Of a personal deity becomes then
- 21:33the measure of religious. Maturity after.
- 21:36Religion has first formulated the concept of the unity of God,
- 21:43and again as a child. You have a.
- 21:45Right to engage. With the father.
- 21:49Every rule in the book in the universe.
- 21:52Is. Shrouded in this truth and the
- 21:55universe works. Together we have.
- 21:58Not only the Spirit of the Father in us, but we also.
- 22:01Have the spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit.
- 22:04We have the Spirit Son, we have the seven Adjutants, and then we
- 22:08also have the Mother Spirit. Plus the service of the angels
- 22:13by our side. So that tells you that the
- 22:17universe is a friendly place. So trust Him and that's the
- 22:21message. You've been listening to the
- 22:27Urantia Radio Podcast where we explore the 5th epical
- 22:31Revelation of New Spiritual Truth.
