- 2:34gentlemen, we call this segment The One and Only and the
- 2:38Dangerous. We call this a call to the pen.
- 2:41I think you can throw a strike on this pitch.
- 2:44It's not going to be my John. Just like Jello right now.
- 2:47Just get it over the plate. I want him to swing.
- 2:49Last time I did that, the guy hit one that hasn't landed yet
- 2:51for a call to the pen. Not me.
- 2:55OK guys, welcome back. I don't care.
- 2:57Another edition of A Call to the Pen.
- 3:01So usually on this one I have a little thing I'm going to read
- 3:04and then I'm going to try to set Java up.
- 3:06But this today is a little, I hope not we started I'm sorry
- 3:11about that Errol, but I decided to change it up a little bit.
- 3:14I decided to talk about something that's a little near
- 3:16and dear to my heart. Preseason football just started
- 3:20for high school. I started yesterday with my team
- 3:23and right off the bat I got myself in trouble because
- 3:26because sometimes I got a kid that I just, I know he needs to
- 3:29be coached hard and I and I try to coach him hard.
- 3:33And then in 2025, it's very difficult for people to
- 3:38understand what that's like and for people to do it.
- 3:41Look, he's this is a kid who has the frame to be a really good
- 3:44defensive end offensive lineman and I need to be able to get him
- 3:49to fix his technique problems. Now do I do that by saying, oh,
- 3:55great, try right there. Why don't you try again?
- 3:59Would you like some water in between reps?
- 4:02Will you need to to get some sweat off of your brow or the
- 4:07truth? I'd we like to say on this show
- 4:09Now, obviously you can go too far without watching people hard
- 4:12and it can go it could go South. You could break relationships.
- 4:15It could, it could go the wrong way, but I've always had more
- 4:18success coaching kids hard and coaching kids that want to get
- 4:23that corrective criticism. So it made me think about what
- 4:27it was like for a professional athlete, what it was like for a
- 4:30great, you know, amateur hockey player.
- 4:32What type of coaches did you respond to the best?
- 4:35Was it the ones that coddled you?
- 4:37Was it the ones that were really hard on you?
- 4:39Or is there like, you know, the three little Bears stories,
- 4:42something right in the middle that is more appropriate?
- 4:45What do you say, Java as we make our daily call to the pen?
- 4:50I was, I, I wanted you to be hard on me.
- 4:54You know, I was, I was raised that way.
- 4:56It was expected of me. Yeah.
- 5:00I just, it's really hard now. I, I don't envy you being a
- 5:04coach because I mean, you can't say or do things that they could
- 5:07say or do, you know, just, you know, 10-15 years ago.
- 5:11So I don't envy in the fact of how to navigate through what you
- 5:15can and can't say or can and can't do now.
- 5:17It's like you run a kid for punishment too much.
- 5:20They tell their mom and now it's abuse and you're fired.
- 5:22You can't get it. Like I, it's, it stinks.
- 5:26But for me, it was always, it was always the ones that would
- 5:30be the first one to bury you, but the first one to put their
- 5:33arm around you and tell you why. And for me, it was just I, I
- 5:38expected so much of myself and to know that they expected it
- 5:41to, and know that they, you know, they always talk about
- 5:43sticking up for your team, right?
- 5:45Well, there's a way to stick for your team.
- 5:47There's a way to stick up for individuals and some that's the
- 5:50hard part. And, and you know this better
- 5:52than I do. I mean, I I coached my son for,
- 5:55you know, a couple years and obviously not as long as you
- 5:57have with different teams, but trying to navigate your way
- 6:00through different personalities and to know I could be tough on
- 6:05Timmy, but I got to be soft on Sam, you know, and it's it's
- 6:09it's just hard. Especially that's a good call.
- 6:12Even more so like you have you see what I did there?
- 6:16You see what the TMS. Tough on Timmy and soft on Sam.
- 6:20Yeah, it's called alliteration, Errol.
- 6:22Yeah, no, it's called Java Alliteration.
- 6:25That's called Timmy. So yeah, but for me, for me, it
- 6:29was just, it was those guys like what, what are you doing here?
- 6:32Like this is you're better than this.
- 6:37And then there's there's sometimes where it's like
- 6:39situational, where it's a teaching moment where you think
- 6:44you're going to get your butt chewed right.
- 6:47And then next thing you know, you're like expecting that.
- 6:49And it's just like, Hey, remember this 21 count?
- 6:52Like why are why are we trying to force it in here?
- 6:54Like, you know what your strength is?
- 6:57You know your fastball away in your slider, Like why did we not
- 7:00do this? So there are times and I think
- 7:02it's situational and obviously navigating the personality of
- 7:06that person, but I would always I wanted to be stepped on,
- 7:12kicked, I mean, open the wound, pour salt in it.
- 7:15But the first one to come back at me and be like, hey, This is
- 7:18why I did it. I just, I don't think you could
- 7:21do that as much anymore. I mean, there were some things
- 7:24that some of my coaches said to me that I'm pretty sure none of
- 7:27them be having jobs anymore. I had a coach that I worked with
- 7:31that called everyone let's let's let's abbreviate a sea sucker in
- 7:35a positive way and a negative way multiple times within just
- 7:40one sentence. And that was pretty impressive.
- 7:44Errol, on the ice, I know you hear a lot more filthy things
- 7:48than you hear in other places. What were the types of coaches
- 7:51that pushed you? I don't think there were
- 7:53actually coaches that pushed me. I think it was the players that
- 7:56pushed me. I, I, I think that they expected
- 7:58me to be good. And then when they wanted me to,
- 8:01Did you respond no, No, because. Coach better than another.
- 8:04No, I I think every single coach is going to tell me the same
- 8:08damn thing. Get on the effing eyes and and
- 8:10play your game or you're going to be sitting, you're going to
- 8:12be riding the bench. That's when you're a, when
- 8:16you're a hockey player and, and, and I know a lot of people that
- 8:19has played hockey, especially some of the better hockey
- 8:22players in their time that were playing PAL or they're playing
- 8:26junior hockey and trying to get to the next level of the OHL or
- 8:29juniors or even playing in the NHL.
- 8:32The first thing a coach going to tell you is go out there and
- 8:34play your game. If you don't play your game,
- 8:35you're going to say it, and that's being nice.
- 8:37Like Jabba says, if you actually heard some of the things that
- 8:41the coaches were telling me during the games, I think they
- 8:44wouldn't have jobs. They would practically probably
- 8:47get thrown into jail or maybe be sued for some of the things they
- 8:51were telling me on and off the ice.
- 8:53So it's kind of disgusting on some of the things I heard as a
- 8:57kid. I was 13 years old and my coach
- 9:00is telling me to go F myself and you effing piece of garbage,
- 9:05you're effing loser and all this other stuff.
- 9:08When when you hear that as your coach and you're, you go home to
- 9:11your parents and parents tell you, you better not be cursing
- 9:13in my house. And you're hearing that from
- 9:15your coaches every single time you're going on any house and
- 9:17practicing or playing games. What are you going to do when
- 9:20you're in front of your parents? You're going to curse, You're
- 9:22going to go out there and say, well, that's what my coach told
- 9:25me, so I guess I can use it to you.
- 9:27So that's the only thing I think obviously coaches could push
- 9:32you, but now they can only push you a certain amount before they
- 9:37get into trouble. They lose their job.
- 9:38So you have to be careful on how you react to a play or react to
- 9:42a certain person that probably won't take it better than other
- 9:46people. So I think it's different,
- 9:48especially a student. Now you go to go to a school and
- 9:51you're a teacher. You know this fish.
- 9:53If you say anything derogatory to a kid, expect the parent to
- 9:57be calling the principal and you being written up or are being
- 10:00reprimanded because you can't do that anymore.
- 10:02So it's a different world now. You can't say the things that
- 10:05you want to say because if you say the wrong thing, it could
- 10:08put you in a bad situation. So you're saying like coaches
- 10:12are getting cancelled? Can't there are coaches?
- 10:15I mean, come on, the Rangers know a coach.
- 10:18Oh, I agree the. Rangers know a coach very, very
- 10:20well, yes, who went out there and wouldn't react by, you know,
- 10:26going out there. Actually, he would.
- 10:27We react to throwing things, but he'll also go out there to the
- 10:30media and tell them how bad they are and how sucky they are and
- 10:33how bad. Poor GM.
- 10:34Dubinsky could never get away from.
- 10:36Them right how bad the ownership is and pretty much everything
- 10:38that's come out of his mouth over the years and actually try
- 10:40to choke out one of his players in Vancouver so I I mean I.
- 10:44Finished up this call to the pen just by just talking like your
- 10:48coaches, whoever, that whoever it is that's coaching you,
- 10:53they're not doing it to, you know, for any other reason to
- 10:57make you better, right? They can't go out there throw
- 11:00the pitch. They I can't go out there and my
- 11:02football players and and execute the block or do the mesh
- 11:06correctly in the backfield. But what I can do is point out
- 11:10what you're doing wrong and try to make sure that your focus is
- 11:12right and your motivations are. Right and make sure you play
- 11:15with yourself right, speedy. That's that's Carl's department.
- 11:19Wow, that would be the opposite. That would be a lack of focus on
- 11:23learning the play. Carl plays with himself.
- 11:26Carl's probably not a great player, no.
- 11:28Probably. Not well.
- 11:29But we have to ask his wife if he knows how to play with
- 11:31himself. Sometimes those are the coaches,
- 11:34as you said, job are the ones that that treat you, that are
- 11:36the best for you, that make you grow the most and that's what
- 11:39you learn on these episodes of A Call to the Pen.
- 11:44Well, I'm calling on something to a pen, maybe calling to like
- 11:49a snake that grows. You know, those little flutes
- 11:52that they blow over there in Egypt?
- 11:53Do I go and the pan flutes? Yeah, the pan flutes, you know,
- 11:57and and it drives the snake to move and dance.
- 12:00I mean, imagine if you can do that for yourself, if you know
- 12:03what I'm talking about. And it just like kind of moves
- 12:05and jiggles. So you're saying wakes up?
- 12:07So you're saying that opponents of the Indianapolis Colts to
- 12:10bring in snakes? So Indiana Jones gets freaked
- 12:12out Men in black. Indiana Jones.
- 12:15Well. I love that we could call him
- 12:17Indiana Jones. I love to be so happy.
- 12:19I think Daniel Jones is going to be fine.
- 12:21For the four weeks that he lasts in the league.
- 12:23Hopefully ASA Riley letter could take over.
- 12:25Yes, I hope, Riley. Gets.
- 12:27I think he's garbage. I don't think we're going to
- 12:29find out he's garbage real soon. And if he's not, what are you
- 12:33going to say? Nice guy, though.
- 12:34Yeah, What are you going to say then?
- 12:35I. Will say that I'm wrong, but
- 12:36I've seen enough evidence to know.
- 12:37That I I think he he was on the wrong team and the organization
- 12:41really didn't do him do him right.
- 12:43OK and now you see Jackson Dart, he's got all the right pieces to
- 12:47succeed right now. I I still question SO.
- 12:50He's better at football. Well, I again, we we don't know
- 12:54what Jackson Dart is. We saw him in preseason.
- 12:57I also saw Daniel Jones. In preseason, the way like he
- 13:00carries himself compared to how Daniel Jones carried himself.
- 13:03Like there are different. Persons Jones like a like a
- 13:05Frankenstein's monster, like, oh, what's going on with you?
- 13:08Boys. But there are different
- 13:09personalities. Rock out, They're different.
- 13:12But you don't. You want Baker maybe?
- 13:13Like, I mean, if don't you OK, Jabba is friends with Eli, all
- 13:18right? Jabba was an emotional person.
- 13:20He would go out there and go, you know, go crazy when he
- 13:23struck somebody out. How many times did you see Eli
- 13:26do that? I mean when?
- 13:27They won the Super Bowl. He went like.
- 13:28Besides this, yeah, Besides that he, he wasn't an emotional
- 13:32person. Past the Burris.
- 13:33He he wasn't, he didn't, he didn't go out there and show
- 13:36emotion. That's Daniel Jones.
- 13:37He wasn't an emotional person. Jackson Dart is different guys
- 13:41and, and in different places you have different measure.
- 13:44So I I think you're measuring too deeply because he played for
- 13:47the Giants. Maybe going somewhere else,
- 13:49it'll work out for him. I I don't know if it will, but
- 13:52I'm rooting for him. I think the Giants were wrong by
- 13:55the way they. They took him so that they can
- 13:58get first overall pitch. What's?
- 13:59A good flavor. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 14:01we call this Dial it Up. We interrupt this regular
- 14:05scheduled hot mix to bring you important news.
- 14:07We got a big. Broadcast to do here.
- 14:10We're about to dial it all it up.
- 14:13My Nuggets are sticking to my leg right now, speedy.
- 14:15You know I'm very uncomfortable right now.
- 14:17I don't get it, but they're they're they're sticking.
- 14:20I, I keep pulling my my boxer briefs.
- 14:23I got into some new Calvin Klein boxer briefs and they're
- 14:25sticking to my leg anyways, let's go.
- 14:27Let's hit it, speedy. All right, here we are, dialed
- 14:30up lightning round stories for Errol.
- 14:32He doesn't know what's coming, but he's got to dial up a take
- 14:35anyway, and then one of us will talk and comment back to him.
- 14:39Here we go. First story Errol Titans head
- 14:43coach Brian Callahan on the hot seat already.
- 14:47Season hasn't started, but according to ESPN, Jeremy Fowler
- 14:51and Tehran Davenport Titans considered firing head coach
- 14:54Brian Callahan after last year concluded.
- 14:58Callahan, who had had to work with nothing to work with in
- 15:012024, had the league's worst record and now has number one
- 15:04overall pick Cam Ward at quarterback.
- 15:07General manager Ran Carthon was fired after the season, but
- 15:11Callahan survived the hiring of new GM Mike Borghansi for now.
- 15:16Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker
- 15:19explained that they wanted to give the first time head coach
- 15:22and first time play caller an opportunity to grow.
- 15:27But how long will Callahan last in Nashville?
- 15:31Errol. Dial it up.
- 15:34I don't know Brian Callahan very well.
- 15:37I know Ward, I met him. He's a nice kid.
- 15:39I think he could be a really good quarterback in the league.
- 15:41I want to see how he transitions from college to the NFLI.
- 15:46Also look at Brian Callahan. He plays for he, he's coaching a
- 15:49team that had one of the better defenses in the league last
- 15:51year. To say that he did nothing and
- 15:54didn't help out that coaching and that coaching staff and help
- 15:57that defense, that's wrong. Their defense was ranked in the
- 16:00top three practically all season long.
- 16:02Now, obviously when you look at Brian Callahan, you expect more
- 16:05from him. He's a rookie coach.
- 16:07But again, he didn't have a he didn't have a good quarterback.
- 16:10He didn't have a number one quarterback.
- 16:11And again, we'll see how this team transitions from one year
- 16:15to the next. I think you know right away
- 16:18after three years if he's the right guy.
- 16:20How could you judge a person after one year of football when
- 16:24you didn't have a number one guy?
- 16:25So I question the way ownership and the executives over there at
- 16:30Tennessee is working it. How about this?
- 16:32If you didn't like Callahan, why did you get rid of Raybould?
- 16:35That made no sense. You had a good coach and then
- 16:38you let him go and you decide to bring in Brian Callahan because
- 16:41she thought he was the right guy for the job.
- 16:43It makes no sense. Raybould right now is is licking
- 16:46his lips. He's got a good team.
- 16:47He had a digs and he's got an owner that actually believes in
- 16:50him. Why doesn't the owner believe in
- 16:52Brian Callahan? When you decided to fire this
- 16:55coach to bring in this coach makes no sense.
- 16:57Out of one year. It shows the incompetence of the
- 16:59organization. Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of
- 17:01sense when you look at the way that you want to build an
- 17:03offensive identity with a rookie quarterback, a number one pick
- 17:06and Cam Ward that I think for compared to other #1 picks in
- 17:09the past still have some question mark compared like
- 17:11skill wise, compared to like a guy like Caleb Williams or some
- 17:15of the other #1 picks that we've seen.
- 17:16Joe Burrow. And you want that kind of
- 17:18offense, especially when you give Calvin Ridley a lot of
- 17:20money. They gave him about 25,000,000 a
- 17:22year. Tony Power, they give a lot of
- 17:24money. Why would you not want an
- 17:25offensive type coach coming to that Cincinnati system to be
- 17:27there for him? Like it's a bad look to say that
- 17:30as well when you're already trusted.
- 17:31You don't want to have to have Cam Ward not trust his coach
- 17:34either. I know he's taking shots at the
- 17:35Titans offense during training camp, but it's a bad look to say
- 17:38it publicly too. And I don't think the process is
- 17:40very good. I think he should have two
- 17:42years. If they fire him, I'd be
- 17:43surprised. All right.
- 17:45Well, I will say this about Callahan.
- 17:48He's he was the offensive coordinator for a pretty damn
- 17:51good offense in Cincinnati with Joe Bro for a number of years.
- 17:56And he comes from his father's one of the best offensive line
- 17:58coaches in the last 30. Places.
- 18:00Why would you not want to keep that guy so.
- 18:02That's the other thing. And he he got his father out of
- 18:04college to to join him because obviously you're going to coach
- 18:07with your son if you can. It's a really cool story on that
- 18:10front. I think you give Callahan
- 18:12another shot, you give him a real quarterback.
- 18:13Levis was absolute garbage last year, so let's see what he can
- 18:17do, but he's definitely on the hot seat already.
- 18:20Next story here we go. So we got a couple of gamblers
- 18:25on the screen. Errol, NBA and Players Union are
- 18:28now backing betting limits on prop bets.
- 18:32Yes, we talked about it last week.
- 18:34Per the Athletics. Mike Vorkunov, the NBA and MBPA
- 18:39representatives said they are for more restrictions on prop
- 18:42betting. Prop betting has become an issue
- 18:44in the NBA and MLB already and has led to indefinite
- 18:47suspensions of players including Malik Beasley, Jonte Porter in
- 18:52basketball and Star Closer and Manuel plus Say in baseball,
- 18:55amongst others. Protecting the integrity of our
- 18:58game is paramount and we believe reasonable limitations on
- 19:03certain Prof bets should be given due consideration going to
- 19:07an NBA spokesperson. Any approach should aim to
- 19:10reduce the risk of performance manipulation while ensuring that
- 19:15fans who wish to place prop bets can continue to do so via legal,
- 19:19regulated markets. Errol, this story is not going
- 19:24away. Dial it up.
- 19:27There's a lot of ways to look at this.
- 19:29Jante shouldn't be suspended for life.
- 19:32I think Jante should get another opportunity in the NBA because
- 19:36obviously Ohtani got away with it and, and we all know that he
- 19:41was doing it and he was placing bets or whatever the hell he was
- 19:44doing behind the scenes. Now, there's no proof, as Joppa
- 19:46says, quote UN quote. There's no proof that he was
- 19:50involved with it, but other people would big to differ on
- 19:53that. As far as this situation is
- 19:55concerned, the NBA is going to go dig deep into this and figure
- 19:59out if it makes more sense to allow it then.
- 20:03Not allow it and players are going to continue doing it.
- 20:06So they're going to have to figure out ways where it could
- 20:09work, where you don't have to suspend players or you don't
- 20:12have to throw away players. Because obviously there are not
- 20:16big players out there like Giannis and LeBron James that
- 20:19are going out there throwing, putting themselves out there
- 20:22where they're betting and they're prop betting.
- 20:24You're going to tell me LeBron James, who has multi billions
- 20:26and billions of dollars is not prop betting on sports and
- 20:30Giannis is not prop betting on sports?
- 20:31What a bunch of rinky Dicks. I absolutely believe that
- 20:35they're every single one of these players at one point of
- 20:38their career has gone out there and bet or played fantasy
- 20:42sports, have done something involved in betting with the
- 20:46game, which I can cause them in trouble 'cause them a problem in
- 20:51their futures if somebody finds out or figures out what they're
- 20:54doing. I think the right now, the NBA,
- 20:56the NHL, the MLB, all the big leagues are going to have to
- 21:00figure out what works and what doesn't work and allow it one
- 21:03way or another. I think there's that.
- 21:05You can't keep betting away, especially when it's going to be
- 21:07legalized in every single state. Eventually, probably in the next
- 21:1110 years, every single state is it's going to be legalized when
- 21:15it comes to sports betting, including Nebraska.
- 21:17And eventually job will be over there in Omaha, Omaha making
- 21:20bets. Yeah, I think you have to find a
- 21:23way that it's enforced fairly across all leagues and there
- 21:26needs to be like a set standard for discipline.
- 21:28I mean, you look at back a couple years ago, Calvin Ridley,
- 21:31when he could be year off, he said it was for his mental
- 21:33health. And we found out he was really
- 21:34gambling and then he got suspended an entire year and
- 21:37that was his ending of the Falcons.
- 21:38He ended up going to Jacksonville next year.
- 21:40Then I see Jonte Porter, you know, it's like getting
- 21:42suspended, being indefinitely suspended and possibly banned
- 21:45from the NBA for life. There needs to be like probably
- 21:48a regulated way of doing it or you're right, like it's
- 21:50constantly in your face. Now you have athletes me and you
- 21:52know, Remember Me and Job talked about this little bit ago or a
- 21:55couple weeks ago. LeBron, you know, he's face of
- 21:58the NBA and he's he's doing ads for DraftKings with, you know,
- 22:01Kevin Hart and it's all over the place.
- 22:03So there there should be, I think a regulation on it.
- 22:06I think you definitely should not be allowed to place prop
- 22:09that's on your own games, of course, because you know, there
- 22:11always will be the idea of manipulation and throwing games
- 22:14and rigging things. I think the idea of betting on
- 22:17outside leagues, like you say, if you're MLB player, you should
- 22:19be allowed to place bets on the NFL and the NBA as you probably
- 22:23have no sway over them unless you have insider information in
- 22:26the organization. But yeah, I mean, it probably
- 22:28should be allowed to some extent.
- 22:31Just you shouldn't be ever allowed to bet on your own games
- 22:34because of course there always will be that factor of the of
- 22:36the and the idea that you players are throwing games on
- 22:39purpose to make money. You can't stop it.
- 22:42It's never going to be stopped. I don't know why anybody thinks
- 22:45they're going to be able to figure out a way to stop
- 22:47proppetting or any kind of betting now that it's going to
- 22:50be legalized almost in every single state in the next 10
- 22:52years. It's ridiculous.
- 22:54And I think the NBA, they have pressed even harder than any
- 22:58leak and suspending or making a lifetime suspension to Jonte
- 23:02Porter when there are guys that have been proven to be not
- 23:06innocent, but for some reason because of their superstardom,
- 23:09they get away with it. That's the problem right now.
- 23:12Is Terry Rozier still playing when he's still?
- 23:15He's also involved in this that I still haven't figured out yet,
- 23:20but his story is certainly not leaving us anytime soon.
- 23:24They may be able to ban prop bets though.
- 23:27They could. They could say you can't have
- 23:29any live prop bets. You can't bet unders.
- 23:32They just might. You can bet, but you can't bet
- 23:35in certain structures. That's what I think they're
- 23:37talking about in certain states, but we'll see.
- 23:40Next story, back to football. Suck my indo.
- 23:46The Patriots are willing to trade a trot a top draft pick to
- 23:51improve their team. Making a little bit of news
- 23:54before the season starts. Well, Patriots GM Elliott Wolf
- 23:58made news Monday. They said that they're trying to
- 24:00add a star player this preseason.
- 24:02We're talking to all 31 teams and trying to do what's best for
- 24:06us. I think those things are often a
- 24:08lot more complicated than the fans and some others would like
- 24:10to make you believe. But if there is something we can
- 24:13think can help us, we'd definitely be open to it.
- 24:16He'd go on to say that he'd be willing to trade a high pick to
- 24:18do so. The Patriots have by far the
- 24:21most cap room as well heading into the season.
- 24:25Wolf is the son of Hall of Fame general manager Ron Wolf of the
- 24:29Packers. They have the most cap room in
- 24:32the NFL. They have a new coach and Mike
- 24:34Rabel creating excitement around Beantown for the Pats and 2nd
- 24:38year QB Mikey sees favorite Drake.
- 24:42Yeah. Errol, some big names, a little
- 24:45disgruntled we talked about earlier tonight and one in
- 24:48Dallas that hasn't signed yet. Why don't you tell us which one
- 24:51of those guys might be going to New England when you?
- 24:54Dial it up. Terry Mclaurin is the guy that I
- 24:59can see going to New England one way or another.
- 25:01I think Washington is sitting pretty right now.
- 25:04They're going to try to get as much as they can for Terry.
- 25:07Terry is going to be asking for 30 million.
- 25:09He's definitely worth 30 million as DK Metcalf is sitting pretty
- 25:13right there with Aaron Rodgers and him throwing the ball to the
- 25:17old Metcalf. I will say this, I look at the
- 25:21Patriots, they're a young team. They have a chance to be good in
- 25:24the future. They do have a quarterback.
- 25:26I don't think he's a top three quarterback like Mikey C
- 25:29believes that him to be, but I think he's a quality quarterback
- 25:32that can make throws. They have Stefan Diggs.
- 25:35I don't think Diggs is a number one anymore.
- 25:37I think he's more of a #2 if you can add a Terry Mclaurin for
- 25:41maybe a first round because that's what you're going to have
- 25:43to give up to get a Terry Mclaurin if you're going to make
- 25:45a trade. Now.
- 25:46Terry Mclaurin is still in the he's 28 years old.
- 25:48He's in the prime of his career. And that's what Washington is
- 25:52going to be asking for. If the Patriots want to contend
- 25:55this year, which they can in a division where it's really just
- 25:59the Buffalo Bills, the The Jets are still rebuilding.
- 26:01They're going to have an at least another year.
- 26:03Miami's going to suck. I mean, who in that division
- 26:07really stands out besides Buffalo?
- 26:09You can compete against the Buffalo Bills because the
- 26:12Buffalo Bills, there's some questions to their team and some
- 26:15of their strengths to their weaknesses.
- 26:16So I, I just, Terry Mclaurin's the only guy.
- 26:20There's nobody else. If they're going to be willing
- 26:23to trade a first round draft pick for, that's the guy I go
- 26:26after. If you can't get Terry Mclaurin,
- 26:28don't waste any picks. Next year's class is going to be
- 26:31really, really good. And and again, there's, there's
- 26:34like 3 wide receivers that I've been hearing about that are
- 26:37going to be available in next year's draft that could be
- 26:41drafted in a top 15. So that's where I would go.
- 26:44I'd wait. I wouldn't trade.
- 26:46But if there is a guy that you want, Terry Mclaurin's the only
- 26:49guy I would I would invest in. I don't know, I I think Mclaurin
- 26:54would obviously be their best receiver right away.
- 26:56They have Stefan Diggs coming off the injury, Pop Douglas,
- 27:00Kyle Williams, the rookie that people is in turning heads in
- 27:02camp. Keyshawn Booty was pretty good
- 27:04from LSU last season in his rookie year.
- 27:07Matt Collins is over there now. They have some guys.
- 27:10The real highlighting camp is Trayvion Henderson.
- 27:13He's flying up everyone's fantasy draft board.
- 27:16He may overtake from Andre Stevenson before as top back.
- 27:21Well, Stevenson hurts, so we don't know if that's true yet.
- 27:24But the place where I would look to add is not on the offensive
- 27:29side of the ball. I agree with you, Errol.
- 27:31I think they have to wait. They want to get, they don't
- 27:33want to pay, you know, 35 million or 33 million and have
- 27:37to give up a first round pick. I'd rather try to get the guy
- 27:40for that on a cheaper deal in the second round.
- 27:42Like Mclaurin was a third round pick, right?
- 27:44You get those guys and you try to build and hope one or two of
- 27:46these guys hit. And then you spend that money
- 27:49and that pick on Micah Parsons and you take your defense, which
- 27:53has a lot of really good players on it, but no stud and you give
- 27:58it a dude, you give him that. The weakest position is probably
- 28:01edge rusher. They have some good inside guys.
- 28:03They signed Milton Williams this year.
- 28:06They've got bar more there still, but I think they can.
- 28:10I think Mike Parsons would really take them to that next
- 28:13level and it would make a lot of sense.
- 28:16Palace really thinks that they're not going to be able to
- 28:18keep him. Yeah, he's not going.
- 28:21He's not going to the Patriots. I guarantee you he's not going
- 28:24to the Patriots. We'll see what happens, Rams.
- 28:27I don't think so either. I think it's the Rams.
- 28:29If he goes anywhere that I think the Rams are willing to give and
- 28:32they have a tremendous amount of draft stock, I could see the, I
- 28:34mean, Jerry's probably. Going to have to pay him because
- 28:37they got no one else. On that I that's the worst
- 28:39thing, 100% that's what they're going to do, but we'll see what
- 28:42happens. All right, let's go on.
- 28:44Two more stories left. Let's go to baseball.
- 28:47Oh, man, this story was all over the place over the weekend.
- 28:51Today it was announced after I made this graphic that Robles
- 28:54was suspended for 10 games. Well, outfielder Victor Robles,
- 28:58if I'm not remembering correctly.
- 28:59Speedy, didn't he get caught up in the netting making a diving
- 29:02catch in the beginning of the season, mess up his shoulder
- 29:04really badly? Yeah, that's that was him.
- 29:06There's a really bad injury freak axe.
- 29:08And he was playing well at the time.
- 29:10Well, his nine year MLB veteran outfielder, he's playing for the
- 29:13Mariners this year. He was in the AAA farm team in
- 29:15Tacoma, rehabbing. Apparently in his in the last
- 29:19few games in his rehab, he got hit by pitches five times in 15
- 29:24plate appearances, which is like five times in three games.
- 29:28Basically a worth of at bats. He was actually trying to swing
- 29:33at the pitch to get out of the way.
- 29:35He couldn't take it anymore, went back, grabbed his bat,
- 29:39let's play the clip in a second and chucked it at the pitcher.
- 29:42And then basically a bit, the bench is empty.
- 29:46Yeah, exactly. Like I said, he was very upset,
- 29:50contrite about it afterwards. He just could not, could not
- 29:55handle this one. And I don't know, Errol, I may
- 29:58have done something, too if I got hit five times in three
- 30:01games. But I want to hear what you
- 30:03would do when you dial it. Up.
- 30:06He did a Roger Clemens just the opposite way.
- 30:09You know that? I call that the Roger Clemens.
- 30:12Honestly, I don't know if I would throw the bat at him.
- 30:16I take a piece of the bat and bend them right over and shove
- 30:19it right where the sun doesn't shine.
- 30:21I honestly, we've seen this before.
- 30:23We understand that pitchers don't like certain players.
- 30:26They're going to throw at those players every single time.
- 30:29But five times, that's a little too much and I'm surprised the
- 30:33umpire didn't do anything about it.
- 30:34And and then the hitter, Robles, goes out of his way and throws a
- 30:39bat at him, a broken bat at him. I mean, obviously there's a
- 30:42problem right over there. Baseball needs to learn or
- 30:46understand that. How many times does it take a
- 30:49pitcher to throw out a player where you're going to throw him
- 30:51out? After two times he's out, you
- 30:54throw him out. Even if it's an accident, you
- 30:56throw him out. Robles took, he took it into his
- 30:59own hands like Roger Clemens did.
- 31:01And Roger Clemens did something stupid because you knew, even
- 31:04though he claims he, well, I thought it was a ball.
- 31:07Well, I know he thought it was a bat and Robles knew it was a bat
- 31:10and he just picked it up and threw it at him.
- 31:12Pretty simple as that. He was trying to hurt him.
- 31:14And, and just like Roger Clemens, I don't know if he was
- 31:17aiming to hit Mike Piazza because I think he has
- 31:20impeccable aim. I mean, he's a bitcher.
- 31:22He's one of the greatest pitchers of all time and he just
- 31:25throws the bat. I, I think if Roger Clemens
- 31:27wanted to hit Mike Piazza, he would hit Mike Piazza with that
- 31:30bat. So I, but I think he was trying
- 31:33to make a statement. I think Robust was making a
- 31:35statement that you throw balls at me, I throw bat at you.
- 31:39That's what I think. It's funny because I've, I've
- 31:44been in this situation where guys have gotten thrown at like
- 31:48they hit four or five guys and we haven't done anything.
- 31:51And it's, it's kind of obvious when it happens.
- 31:55I don't know if I'd go as far as, you know, picking up your
- 31:58bat and then hucking it. I mean, I don't know if you guys
- 32:01remember 2007 when Jose Oberman ran at the pitcher for the Long
- 32:06Island Ducks. He was on the Long Island Ducks
- 32:09and started swinging the bat. So those are the only two.
- 32:12Then you have Mr. Delmon Young that did it when he's with the
- 32:15Darren Bulls. So there's been there's been a
- 32:18few bat throwing or or swinging incidents.
- 32:20But yeah, I mean, there's just go get him at that point if
- 32:24they've they've hit you that much or done whatever.
- 32:27Just I do like the I can't remember what game it was where
- 32:30he just drop kicks the catcher so you can't stop him and then
- 32:33you just go get him. That's one of my favorite videos
- 32:35of all time where gets it, looks at it, drop kicks him.
- 32:38He's like, you ain't getting me. And then one thing, one thing
- 32:41that I've always hated and I literally every time and I
- 32:44cleared benches a lot, which is fun, but sometimes it's not
- 32:48because your legs aren't fresh and you feel like you just blew
- 32:50a handy. But every time an umpire would
- 32:52touch me, I'd be like, don't touch me.
- 32:54I can't touch you, so don't touch me.
- 32:57And then, like, get your hands off.
- 32:58And they'd be like, we're just trying to break it up.
- 33:01I go, well, I can't touch you or I get in trouble.
- 33:04Oh, yeah. Izzy Alcontera.
- 33:05That's right. This is the best.
- 33:07Nope. Sorry about your life.
- 33:08Boom. See you.
- 33:09Some Sweet Chin Music right there.
- 33:11You ain't getting me. Yeah, that's and then he took a
- 33:14horrible punch after. That I like to meet that guy.
- 33:17I definitely like to meet that. Guy that's almost as bad as
- 33:20Bryce Harper when he went and got Hunter Strickland and he
- 33:23went to throw the helmet at him and then went towards first
- 33:25base. Yes, I remember that that was.
- 33:28Fun. There's been some struggles to
- 33:29get it and Chuck your bat. Yeah, 10 games is probably
- 33:34probably enough. I guess he's appealing it from
- 33:36what I read so. I don't know if he's going to
- 33:39win that. I mean, he's still going to get,
- 33:41you might get dropped down to 8 games, but that's about it.
- 33:45But yeah, it's, I mean, just go charge it.
- 33:49Just just go after him, do a reverse Barnsworth and Spear of
- 33:53the dude. You know what I mean?
- 33:54Like you. Guys do all you got, just don't
- 33:56get headlocked like. At that point, you just have to
- 33:58like you got to do something at that point.
- 34:00All right, here it is. Last story.
- 34:02I couldn't believe this one when I read this.
- 34:05Now I'm not going to talk about golf to talk about Scotty
- 34:08Scheffler winning the BMW Championship, which by the way,
- 34:12I'll show you the clip of him hitting this unbelievable
- 34:14miracle shot on the 2nd to last hole to win it and put it out of
- 34:17reach. Now I'm going to talk about a
- 34:19different golfer, Ben Griffin who had who was in contention
- 34:24had a terrible start to their first the final round, double
- 34:27bogey, bogey and then shot 7 under the rest of the way
- 34:31finished tied for 12th. Well, the reason why he was
- 34:35tweaking out on creatine in the final round, apparently he took
- 34:43a snowball of creatine accidentally before the round.
- 34:48So here's this quote. So I take creatine as a
- 34:50supplement and this time I didn't take it until I basically
- 34:53teed off on one. I was at the end of my batch.
- 34:56I basically had a snowball of creatine because it had been in
- 34:59my bucket for a month and I broke it up and put it in any
- 35:03water bottle. I started taking it after my
- 35:05second shot and I accidentally swallowed one of the big rocks
- 35:09in the water bottle. As he explains, I never
- 35:12overdosed on creatine before, but I think I did in the moment
- 35:17because I didn't really drink any water after that.
- 35:23You ever accidentally overdosed before you played A?
- 35:26Game of any sort. I can't even.
- 35:28Imagine this. I know Randy Moss would would
- 35:30light up before he played in high school.
- 35:32This is a little bit different. Like to hear what you got to say
- 35:36about it? Here on Dilator, well, it's
- 35:39pretty simple. Anybody that gets high off of
- 35:42creatine is an idiot. I I mean I've never heard this
- 35:44before I know what creatine does for you puts water in your
- 35:48muscle and the fact that he says he takes it first of all, is it
- 35:52illegal when it comes to playing golf?
- 35:53I mean, that's a a specific thing that you take when it
- 35:57comes to working out and getting bigger.
- 35:59And I understand that's what he's trying to do.
- 36:01But the guy has pea shooters for arms.
- 36:03So he's obviously not taking it right.
- 36:06And if you're tweaking out on creatine and not something,
- 36:09anything else, there's a problem there.
- 36:11He obviously doesn't know what the drug does for you and, and
- 36:14maybe he's sniffing it. Maybe he's sniffing a rock
- 36:16because that's the only way you'd be tweaking on it.
- 36:19How do you pop a rock in your mouth or you choke on a rock and
- 36:22you're tweaking on a rock of creatine?
- 36:25Makes sense. Much of it I got.
- 36:27It 10 times the amount I. Was listen, listen, I, I, I know
- 36:30what creatine is. I know what you can do with it.
- 36:33You can drink a whole bottle of creatine and you can definitely.
- 36:36I'm telling you right now, you're not tweaking on it.
- 36:39That is the most ridiculous, stupidest statement.
- 36:42Any professional athlete can tell something.
- 36:45You're going to cramp up, but you're not Yeah, I've never.
- 36:48I've never heard of it. And a rock like how old was this
- 36:51creatine? I don't Yeah, this one was this
- 36:56one was interesting. And if, like you saw it, it was
- 36:59I mean, because I'll be. I love golf.
- 37:01So I I'm the idiot that watches it.
- 37:04But yeah, I it's when he said it because I did no idea like what
- 37:09he even meant. I was like, maybe did he mix it
- 37:13up with like his pre workout? Because I could see that on pre
- 37:16workout. Yes, yes.
- 37:18Or maybe his he's got special creatine that has.
- 37:21Pre workout in it too. I special creative, yeah.
- 37:25Who? Who I.
- 37:26Wouldn't be surprised if he's getting drug tested like within
- 37:29the next. I I've never heard that who
- 37:31tweaks out on on creatine? I've never.
- 37:34Heard that he was OK by the 3rd hole.
- 37:36Good for him. Just two holes.
- 37:38Yeah, that it affected. Him and maybe he needs to find
- 37:40some other hole, if you know what I mean, because if there's
- 37:43any tweaking doing, you know, on a golf course, he's probably
- 37:47tweaking and trying to find somebody else's.
- 37:49So I, I think he's a little lost in translation.
- 37:53Maybe he needs to hang out with Bill Murray and, you know, dream
- 37:56A Little Dream. Maybe he needs to hang out with
- 37:58those hug a bunch people in the 80s in that movie.
- 38:01I mean, the guy's an idiot. I mean, this got to be, this has
- 38:05got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard an
- 38:07athlete say. So it's got it's definitely
- 38:10dumb. I've never even.
- 38:12My question is he actually played lights out from after
- 38:16that? Like how is it not a performance
- 38:19enhancing drug at that point that he can go 7 under within
- 38:24the last 15 holes while he's on that stuff?
- 38:27I mean it's crazy maybe maybe 1st to cancel it out, but.
- 38:31Maybe he put it on his thumb and shoved it up his ass.
- 38:33I don't know. There's got to be something,
- 38:37something up with that, man, I, I have never heard this before
- 38:40and. I thought you'd like that story.
- 38:42I I didn't even hear about it until you just told.
- 38:45Me there was There was another good story on a good note.
- 38:50Scotty Scheffler obviously won. Oh yeah, let me see that clip.
- 38:54And but his his normal caddy is Ted Scott.
- 38:58And Ted Scott had to he left the Saint Jude in the third round
- 39:03for a family. This Yeah, this is crazy.
- 39:06He played lights out and then Scotty hits this.
- 39:08Yeah, Scotty's stupid good. But the crazy part is so he had
- 39:12a fill in Caddy and the fill in Caddy worked four days and made
- 39:18360 thousand $360,000 and took home a Rolex by being a fill in
- 39:23Caddy for Scotty Scheffler winning.
- 39:25Let me ask Tom Brady, are you going to talk about his family
- 39:28now? I mean seriously, are, are you
- 39:31kidding me? I saw a stat for the Ryder Cup.
- 39:34You know how they have like a point standing and six get in.
- 39:37So like the 6th place guys got like 12,000 points.
- 39:40The second place guys got like 17,000 points and Scotty
- 39:44Scheffler has got like 50,000 points because in first place
- 39:48because he's the best player in the world by far.
- 39:51It's far and and the fact that he came out and said that he
- 39:54rather spend time with his family.
- 39:56They play golf. Tom Brady is going to go at him
- 39:58and say, why can't you do both? Well, Tom, maybe he doesn't kiss
- 40:02his son in, you know, in the public eye the way you do.
- 40:05I mean it's. It's pretty it.
- 40:07I didn't understand why Tom Brady would attack a guy that
- 40:11just loves his family and respects his family so much that
- 40:15he would go out of his way and say that golf is not as
- 40:18important as his family. I, I would, I would expect Jabba
- 40:22to come out and say if it came down to playing professional
- 40:24baseball or spending the time with his son, he would say
- 40:27spending time with his son. I mean, that would be any normal
- 40:31father. I mean I, I, I guess I unless
- 40:35you're I. You heard my take on it.
- 40:38I thought it was. Ridiculous.
- 40:40That's absolutely ridiculous. I think Tom needs to stay out of
- 40:43it. This guy is still playing
- 40:45unbelievable golf right now. He's winning tournaments and
- 40:49he's telling Tom Brady, guess what?
- 40:51Yeah, I'm winning tournaments. I'm getting arrested.
- 40:53Oh, and yes, I'm spending time with my family.
- 40:56So. And he's not taking any creatine
- 40:58and and tweaking and skeet skeet skeeting on it as that idiot is
- 41:01doing. So.
- 41:02I mean, it's absolutely ridiculous.
- 41:05Wow. Yeah, you like that?
- 41:06Right. Errol always like takes it like
- 41:10to another level with like a 15 year old reference.
- 41:13Well, you know, I mean mis dropped a little John reference
- 41:15on. Us.
- 41:16Well, there you go. OK, OK.
- 41:20I was like, yeah, yeah, I'll go out there and listen.
- 41:24I don't want to blow my mic, my new mic right here, but I could
- 41:27definitely blow something. Yeah.
- 41:29They're like a little Jada kiss, like a little like COO Wing.
- 41:36Speedy, give me your sound. Give me it to me.
- 41:40Give me something else. That COO COO Wing is not good
- 41:42for you. Give me a sound that you would
- 41:43be. It'll be unique for you if you
- 41:45were a rapper. If I was a rapper, yeah.
- 41:48Just come out to a song, give me something that something's
- 41:50unique. I don't.
- 41:52Think I can rap? Save my life.
- 41:53No, no, I don't want you to rap. I want you to give me a sound.
- 41:58What that? What?
- 42:01Is that what What? Just say that again, dude.
- 42:07Wow. There you go, Java.
- 42:08I mean it looks like he's constipating and he's like a she
- 42:12dog constipated. There you go.
- 42:14Was that supposed to be the beat or is that like an interpretive?
- 42:18Could you imagine, you imagine somebody going on, you know,
- 42:21ready to do his first, you know, his first lines and he goes.
- 42:27I'll be the rap, you know? What they would do, they'd be
- 42:29like, hey, we got medical personnel.
- 42:30Oh. This guy's a little harder.
- 42:33I'll be there. I'll be I'll be the rap Scene
- 42:35Show version of William Hung. Oh my God, that.
- 42:38That was one of the worst. I mean, Jake.
- 42:41You have a sound homemade cheese though.
- 42:42Yeah, he did. Jake, you have a sound.
- 42:44Could you give me a sound that would come out of your mouth if
- 42:47you were a rapper? Do you have anything unique that
- 42:49you can display to the fans right now?
- 42:52Is there anything? No, he's not going to do that.
- 42:55He's not going to embarrass himself, no.
- 42:58I got one for you. I was always able to do, I
- 43:00forget which rapper did it, but I was able to do the bullet
- 43:04sounds. I like that.
- 43:06That's a good one, Jabba. What is that?
- 43:08Bullet, bullet. That's a good one.
- 43:10That's a good one. What was that, Jabba?
- 43:12What was that? What was that American stuff
- 43:18right there? That's almost like, what's that
- 43:20the the. Droba Droba Java takes it up the
- 43:27ass. Anyways, we call this.
- 43:32What's that smell? What is that smell?
- 43:36What's that smell? Wow, you don't see that
- 43:43everyday. All right, this is the final
- 43:45segment of the night. Ladies and gentlemen.
- 43:47It's pretty simple. What we do is we tell you a
- 43:49story and we go through the story and we tell you what it
- 43:52smells like. We're going to go around in a
- 43:54circle. We got Jake tonight, we got the
- 43:56old Fisher, we got the speedster, we got Jabba, and we
- 43:59got me. You guys ready?
- 44:01We're going to go first, We're going to go fish, We're going to
- 44:05go Speedy, we're going to go Jake, we're going to go Jabba,
- 44:07we're going to go me. Here we go.
- 44:10I like anal. Fish where's?
- 44:13Panties the. Music going for?
- 44:16What's that smell, guys? I'm going to start off in the
- 44:19positive note because I got a rare treat I had no idea I was
- 44:22going to get. I turned on ESPN and there he
- 44:25was. Rich Eisen, my favorite Sports
- 44:29Center anchor of all. Jet fan too, by the way.
- 44:33Well, not everyone's perfect, but Rich Eisen did a great job.
- 44:37He was shouting out some they they played an old montage as he
- 44:41came on with the old graphics from when he did it back in 96 I
- 44:45believe was the last time he was over there.
- 44:47Him and Stuart Scott were the best most relied upon team after
- 44:52the Dan Patrick Keith Olbermann days after.
- 44:54They kind of ruffled those too many feathers.
- 44:56At least Olbermann did. My eyes.
- 44:59It was incredible. I was really happy with the
- 45:01Stewart Scott tribute. So I just wanted to say, what
- 45:04did it smell like? And I give you one of the
- 45:06Stewart Scott Scott lines. It smelled like delicious butter
- 45:10over on a roll, because that's what you are and you're as cool
- 45:15as the other. Are you trying to get me hungry?
- 45:18I shouldn't be eating butter rolls at this time of life, but
- 45:20I might have to go. He's like butter and I use that
- 45:24when I. Blow my backup.
- 45:25Certificates in school I go. Here you go like butter on a
- 45:30roll. There you go, I need a
- 45:33magnifying glass I. Think that's what he needs.
- 45:36I think Fish needs a magnifying glass.
- 45:38I mean, somebody needs to shave him.
- 45:39Speedy, you want to help him. No, I'm good.
- 45:41I think Fish can shave himself. Oh, I think he could.
- 45:44He's got a he's got a wife that could.
- 45:46Do it. I'm going to say he went down.
- 45:48He also. Has a wife titties.
- 45:51Alright, so my what sun smell will be about somebody that we
- 45:54referenced earlier, but it accepted a different context.
- 45:56So there was a video of a offline fantasy football draft
- 46:00where there was a guy that had the number two overall pick in
- 46:03the draft. And Bijon Robinson, who's been
- 46:05one of the best running backs in the NFL, is a guy that's been
- 46:08the number one running back in fantasy for most time going in
- 46:11that range. But who did he take instead?
- 46:13He took Brian Robinson, a guy that like Fish was alluding to
- 46:16earlier, could be traded, could be caught from the Washington
- 46:18Commanders as the second overall pick in the draft.
- 46:21The only pick I've known that's been worse is my brother taking
- 46:24Le'veon Bell number one overall when he was holding out from the
- 46:26Steelers. But this might be a very close
- 46:28second. He put it on the sticker board
- 46:29as Brian Robinson junior. Well, good luck.
- 46:32Fun getting last in the league this year and doing Never prank
- 46:34your leaks get US. And what does that smell like?
- 46:36It smells like some three years expired.
- 46:38This is a real thing too. Bijon mustard, which actually
- 46:42was a thing when he got drafted. 3 years expired.
- 46:44Bijon Mustard on Arthur Smith's sweaty mustache.
- 46:49Jesus, Arthur Smith, do you hang out with Arthur Smith?
- 46:54Would you hang out with Arthur Smith if he asked you to come
- 46:57down to Atlanta? He's not even there anymore
- 47:00because he was such a terrible coach at managing B Sean.
- 47:02Robin, I'm just saying, if he was down in Atlanta, would you?
- 47:05Have no but. Sean's were doing your boy a
- 47:06rod. No but no but I know but but.
- 47:09Sean Smith might because he defended him to death.
- 47:13Sean Smith. Sean Smith, Somebody's lost.
- 47:15All right, Jake, let's hear it all.
- 47:18Right, yes, All right, so for my what's a small story?
- 47:20I got to go back to UFC 319. Going back to Carlos Protes is
- 47:24fantastic. Spinning elbow knockout against
- 47:28Jeff Neal. Carla's protest was lighting up.
- 47:31He was ripping himself a victory cig and probably going to have
- 47:34himself some whiskey, which is insane and which I didn't know
- 47:37about. I found out about.
- 47:38He said he averages smoking about 10 to 15 cigarettes a day
- 47:42while still being a professional mixed martial artist.
- 47:44And drinking whiskey says it helps him to calm down from his
- 47:47anxiety. So what does it smells like?
- 47:49It smells like those late night drunk cigs in that smooth
- 47:53whiskey from Tennessee as Carlos Practice continues to climb up
- 47:57the welterweight division. You know?
- 47:58You know what's so impressive about?
- 48:00That when you're when you have the stamina that guy has and you
- 48:04can smoke 10 cigarettes, the way he says doesn't make sense.
- 48:07It makes sense. I don't know how.
- 48:08He he looks as good as he does. I mean, his lungs should be
- 48:11horrible. I don't know how.
- 48:12It doesn't make any sense. They say it's crazy, Joe.
- 48:15Rogan was talking about it during the fight and after the
- 48:17fight. He says this guy smokes 10 to 15
- 48:20cigarettes and then he says when he trains, when he does 5
- 48:23rounds, he he's smoking every other round.
- 48:26He wants to go outside for a smoking cigarette.
- 48:29This guy, he said, he's tried to quit for years.
- 48:32But he's just like, it helps my anxiety.
- 48:33Oh God, what are you going to do?
- 48:35Take the edge off me, could you? Imagine that guy wins the
- 48:37championship. And after the after the fight
- 48:39lights one up in the middle of the Octagon, he will.
- 48:45It's crazy. I don't even know.
- 48:48I've never heard this before. Has I've heard obviously mixed
- 48:53martial artists say they smoke weed.
- 48:55We all Nick Diaz and they've come out and said that Nate Diaz
- 48:58have come out and say they love smoking weed and that makes them
- 49:01calm and collective. This guy goes out and says he
- 49:03smokes cigarettes and he smokes 10 to 15 of them.
- 49:06But it's it's ridiculous. I've never heard this before.
- 49:09But hey, if it makes him a better fighter and it makes him
- 49:12a champion, I can't complain. I can't argue with him.
- 49:15That knockout was unbelievable. So more power to him, I guess.
- 49:20Keep smoking, smoke away. Smoke like a chimney.
- 49:26I mean, that's, yeah. Fish wears panties.
- 49:30He was proud of it, too. That's the best part.
- 49:32Like he's like, I'm not going to stop.
- 49:34I'm not. I was like, damn, all right,
- 49:36keep doing it. If it makes him happy and he's
- 49:40he's winning like. If it ain't broke, don't fix it,
- 49:42right? Well, he's definitely, he's
- 49:43definitely not fixing. That, especially with the
- 49:45spinning, spinning elbow, the way that he landed that one.
- 49:49I mean that guy was out like a light when he landed that.
- 49:53So yeah, the sound of of his elbow.
- 49:56When he hit Jeff, Neil's head is Oh my God, out like a light, so
- 50:00loud. God, I am going to.
- 50:04I'm going to go with none other than herself, Angel Reese.
- 50:10She's coming out with the AR ones September 18th and just
- 50:16found it was funny. She did an interview with a
- 50:19bunch but I I got mine off Bleacher Report and she wants
- 50:23her AR ones to be a household name like the Jordans.
- 50:28And her quote is, I want people to wear the Angel Reese ones
- 50:32everywhere just to be a household name, to have no
- 50:35limits on what I can do and what I can accomplish.
- 50:41Reebok is back. We're bringing back the old
- 50:43school look, the old school vibes.
- 50:45Who what? First of all, she's smoking more
- 50:49than cigarettes. And whatever it is, I, I would
- 50:54like some because for her to think that she is even close to
- 51:00being a household name, making a shoe like Jordan, even LeBron,
- 51:04like he started the Lebrons, they're not as collectible as
- 51:07Jordan's. They're not a household name.
- 51:09Every basketball player now has a shoe.
- 51:11And for her to try to think that she is going to do it and she
- 51:16moved up this release so she could basically strike why the
- 51:19match is hot basically is what she said.
- 51:22And the the Angel Reese ones will officially drop in three
- 51:26different colorways, diamond dust, me bounds and receipts
- 51:30ready from all of her things that have made her career what
- 51:33they are. And you know what this smells
- 51:35like? This smells like these AR ones
- 51:39are going to be filled with a lot of Tommy poops and a.
- 51:46Lot of. Vomit because you couldn't.
- 51:48I would buy big baller brand before I would buy these.
- 51:51Stupid. Horseshit.
- 51:54That's what I that's what it smells like.
- 51:56Yeah. That's yeah.
- 51:57There was. I was going to go keep going,
- 52:00but yeah, it's just bad. Angel, Reese.
- 52:03Angel. Reese is not even the best
- 52:04player in the WNBA. Michael Jordan's the greatest
- 52:07ever, and you're comparing your sneaker to Michael Jordan's
- 52:10Jordan Java you. See, that's some of the the.
- 52:13Swedish smelly fish that I talked about a few weeks ago.
- 52:16Dude. Angel Reese.
- 52:17Angel. Reese is having her, one of her.
- 52:19Worst seasons as a professional and she's been in she's been in
- 52:23the league for what, 2 years Last year I wanted she's I
- 52:26wanted to ask this did you guys. Did you guys see this and I
- 52:29don't know if it was fake or not where she said you guys you guys
- 52:33work a week to make 1400? I work 7 days and make 1400.
- 52:38Was that real? I don't know.
- 52:40I think she. I think I spoke to him about
- 52:41that job. I think that might have been
- 52:43actually real. I mean, it might have been the
- 52:44good old NBA Sentel, if you're familiar with that, saying wow,
- 52:48NBA Sentel is a great. Follow up.
- 52:51They get. So many people too.
- 52:52It's awesome. We'll say, which is what made me
- 52:54laugh, was. When you just sit with the
- 52:55sneakers NBA Central, the actual account put that out and then
- 52:59Sentel commented under it actually not sent or like you
- 53:03know, the can't believe it's not butter, can't believe it's not
- 53:05Sentel camp. Police, actually.
- 53:08Has had a Goodyear. Errol.
- 53:10She's averaging at like 14 and 12.
- 53:12Can't believe I'm not reading her.
- 53:14What? I'm sorry, she's been good.
- 53:16She's averaging a double. Double stop.
- 53:20She's she's good, except. The double double, like half of
- 53:23those rebounds are on when she hurts her own layups.
- 53:26So I mean, there's that. Angel Reese sucks.
- 53:29Yeah, me bounds. Dog.
- 53:30Yeah, me bounds blowjobs. Whatever the final.
- 53:35What's that smell? Ladies and gentlemen, goes to
- 53:37Julio Cesar Chavez Junior as he is now deported to Mexico for
- 53:44illegal cartel ties. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boxer
- 53:47Julio Cesar Chavez Junior, who just fought.
- 53:50Oh I yeah. Jake Paul has been deported to
- 53:54Mexico where he was wanted for a legend cartel ties following his
- 53:58arrest in the US of overstaying his visa and lying on a green
- 54:04card application. Chavez was handed over by the
- 54:08authorities and admitted to a prison outside of the city of
- 54:14Hermosillo in the northern state of Sonora and official told the
- 54:19Associate Press on condition conditions on Tuesday.
- 54:24Let me tell you something about this.
- 54:25This makes no sense. And Julio Sejal Chavez obviously
- 54:29went and got got into the ring with Jake Paul just for Mucho De
- 54:33Niro so he can place a prop bet on himself for losing.
- 54:37Because honest to God, anybody that's messing around with the
- 54:41cartel and putting himself out there when his father is one of
- 54:44the greatest boxers of all time. And going into the ring with a
- 54:47guy that's not even a boxer has no, no reason to step in a ring
- 54:52with. Actually, Julio Cesar Chavez
- 54:54Junior, who is at one point a really good boxer, was
- 54:58embarrassing. This is an embarrassing story.
- 55:01I don't know what this guy is doing.
- 55:03This guy's an absolute joke. You know what it smells like?
- 55:06It smells like the donkey. What is it, camel shit, camel
- 55:12shit in Mexico that he's going to probably sniff and get high
- 55:15off of? OK, what an absolute joke.
- 55:19Julio Cezo Chavez junior is he? He embarrassed himself fighting
- 55:23Jake Paul and and losing to Jake Paul.
- 55:26I mean actually look like he never boxed before in his career
- 55:30when he got into the ring with Jake Paul.
- 55:32And then after the whole story came out, this guy is doing all
- 55:36these things, not paying his visa, doing doing illegal stuff
- 55:41connected to the the cartel and and drug dealing and all this
- 55:45other stuff. This guy is an absolute
- 55:48disgusting person person and I am.
- 55:50I'm surprised I haven't heard from Julio Cesar Chavez Senior
- 55:55on this whole story. This guy is one of the greatest
- 55:58boxers to ever fight in a boxing ring and his son's doing these
- 56:02stupid things. It's just, it's just a joke, an
- 56:04embarrassment to the family. I would disown him and let him
- 56:07sit in jail for the rest of his life.
- 56:08He's part of it. Dude.
- 56:11If you know who and shut the music, if you know Julio Cesar
- 56:14Chavez, and I don't know him personally, but I've heard a lot
- 56:17of good things about the guy. The guy is one of the most
- 56:19respected boxers of all time. He's very well respected around
- 56:24the boxing and and even the combat sports world.
- 56:28This guy is looked at by many Mexicans and many, you know,
- 56:32Spanish fighters around the world, around the globe.
- 56:35And the fact that his son has his name, the same name and he's
- 56:39doing the things that he is doing and embarrassed himself in
- 56:42the ring against a non boxer. Yes, Jake Paul is not a boxer.
- 56:46He is he runs MVP, he's a great promoter, one of the great
- 56:49promoters right now in the game, but he is not a boxer.
- 56:52And embarrass yourself the way you did in the ring.
- 56:55You should be ashamed of yourself.
- 56:57You should rot in jail honestly. Guy's an idiot.
- 57:00So terrible story for boxing honestly.

- 57:58on tomorrow? All right, so Java got this one
- 58:00at 8:40. Five, we got ESPN baseball.
- 58:02I like anal Kyle Peterson. Also pitched in the major.
- 58:04Leagues, so I think five years with the Brewers as well.
- 58:06He'll be joining us at 8:45 and then returning to the show at
- 58:099:45 will be our friend from all 22 fantasy football, Ray Cotto,
- 58:12possibly his partner Chris Lombardi too.
- 58:14I haven't heard from him yet, but Ray will definitely I I will
- 58:16tell you this about those. Guys, they're they do a great
- 58:19job when it comes to fantasy and and making and and making
- 58:23gestures on who you should pick when it comes to fantasy sports.
- 58:27Those guys need to be knocked around a little bit tomorrow and
- 58:30I'm going to give it to him. I'm I'm, but I'm going to give
- 58:32it to him. Fair, not in a sexual way job.
- 58:34I tell you look until they hack their like I'm doing it.
- 58:37Until they find a way to hack their system and force Travis
- 58:39Hunter on that 22, well, that's never going to happen.
- 58:42I I. Will I will tell you this on any
- 58:44of my fantasy teams, I will not draft Travis the Gremlin Hunter
- 58:49and we'll never do that. And but by the way, you have to,
- 58:52you have to tell us like we really thought.
- 58:54You would draft that guy? I would never.
- 58:57I'm never draft. I would never draft that.
- 58:59He will be and and people will be stupid enough to draft him in
- 59:02the first 3 rounds. I guarantee you some stupid
- 59:06idiot is going to draft him in the top three in the top three
- 59:09rounds and Brian Thomas is the guy to draft on that
- 59:11Jacksonville team. Expect this guy to be the one of
- 59:15the top three wide receivers in the league this year.
- 59:17You can book it, I guarantee it. You can put it on a plate, eat
- 59:21it with some spaghetti and meatballs.
- 59:23I'm telling you right now, Brian Thomas is the guy to go after.
- 59:27I'm going after him in the third or if he's there in the third
- 59:30round, he won't be there in the third.
- 59:31He's going legally first early. I.
- 59:32Know, I know. That's the sad part.
- 59:34He's the top 15. Yeah, I know he's special.
- 59:36Man, that. Kid is special.
- 59:37He's better than this. Did you say top 15?
- 59:39Yeah, yeah. People are saying that, yeah.
- 59:42Going late 1st, early second round.
- 59:43Everything else, dude, that guy is.
- 59:46Going to that kid, mark my words, he's the best.
- 59:48He's going to be the best wide receiver in the league in the
- 59:50next two years. Mark it, book it, Whatever you
- 59:52want to do it, whatever however way you want to slice it in your
- 59:56dice it. That guy is special.
- 59:58I'm telling you, I'm not lying to you and I, I'm going to book
- 1:00:01it. I'll book it anyway.
- 1:00:03It's Trevor Lawrence special. Is the bigger question.
- 1:00:05I don't think you care. I don't think it matters.
- 1:00:07I think he's proven that if Trevor Lawrence is good or not,
- 1:00:10he's going to put up the numbers.
- 1:00:11He did it without Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:00:13He had Matt. What was it?
- 1:00:14Matt Jones? I'm just saying to be the top.
- 1:00:18Guy, you need a more competent quarterback, I think, I think
- 1:00:21if. Lawrence stays healthy.
- 1:00:24Travis Santo will be OK. I think they're going to figure
- 1:00:27out that he is more of a corner than he is a wide receiver.
- 1:00:30He'll play both, but that's what he is.
- 1:00:33And I, I don't even know if he's a good corner in this league
- 1:00:37with all the Starfire power that they have over there.
- 1:00:40I'll see. I, I don't know.
- 1:00:41I don't know what to. He's going to have to be like a
- 1:00:43really good receiver. For him to justify his fantasy
- 1:00:45value because he's going like fourth, fifth round for all 22,
- 1:00:48it might be different because he could play both positions.
- 1:00:50I don't like him. I think he smells.
- 1:00:52Like horse Doo Doo. That's what I think.
- 1:00:54Gremlin Doo Doo gremlin Doo. He smells like.
- 1:00:57Gremlin What does gremlin Doo Doo smell like you do?
- 1:00:59I don't know. What does he smell?
- 1:01:00They they can't eat. After midnight, so whatever crap
- 1:01:02comes out of them if you wet them, they.
- 1:01:04They they triple, they triple. So you got to stay away from
- 1:01:08Gizmo, right? Was he get a lot.
- 1:01:10Gizmo was a good one. There was all those.
- 1:01:12Duplicates that caused the. Problems.
- 1:01:13Yeah. They shoot out like you know
- 1:01:15everything. Else, if you know what I mean,
- 1:01:17job, but it comes out with, you know, a little spice to it, a
- 1:01:21lot of spice to it. Anyways, that's it for Got dude.
- 1:01:23Wipes, yeah. That's right.
- 1:01:25Speaking of dude wipes, I mean somebody got to wipe them.
- 1:01:28As long as she's using dude wipes and taking.
- 1:01:30Care of my 2 hole. I'm good.
- 1:01:31Pulled it out of my ass. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:01:34I hope you pulled. It out of your ass.
- 1:01:35I hope you enjoyed everything and make sure you don't throw
- 1:01:38bats at anybody. If you want ask Robles or ask
- 1:01:40Roger Clemens. You can do a Clemens at Clemens
- 1:01:43anytime you want. Anyways, that's it.
- 1:01:44We'll be back. But tomorrow actually, yeah,
- 1:01:46we'll be back tomorrow. Enjoy your night.
- 1:01:48Enjoy the next, I don't know, couple hours and we'll see you
- 1:01:51tomorrow. Good night.
