- 0:56Speaker 1: There's a lot of discussion. It was the Facebook group
- 0:58Speaker 1: who chose this list of movies for April. But we're
- 1:02Speaker 1: talking about these movies. We're talking about this stuff that
- 1:04Speaker 1: is currently airing on Hallmark and all breaking Hallmark news.

- 2:09Speaker 1: I think you'd be shocked at the time we make
- 2:15Speaker 1: to watch and review Hallmark movies. But in addition to
- 2:21Speaker 1: the other stuff we watch and read and listen to,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I mean, we can dome a lot of content. We do.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I have feelings about it to a lot of media.
- 2:30Speaker 1: That's about yes, yes, exactly. All right. Let's start with
- 2:34Speaker 1: the s anapsis for Rip in Time, when organic farmer
- 2:39Speaker 1: Sarah meets a man who claims to be from seventeen
- 2:42Speaker 1: eighty seven, named Rip van Winkle Junior. She soon discovers
- 2:47Speaker 1: old fashioned romantic feelings that might be just as crazy
- 2:51Speaker 1: as his story. Jessica Harmon directed Rip in Time. Jessica
- 2:56Speaker 1: has worked as an actor, director, and producer. She has
- 2:59Speaker 1: twenty directing it's, including three or T Guarded Mysteries, as
- 3:03Speaker 1: well as Tipline mysteries Dial One for Murder. CJ. Cox
- 3:07Speaker 1: wrote the teleplay for Rip in Time. Now, we just
- 3:11Speaker 1: talked about him recently, which is so I love when
- 3:14Speaker 1: this kind of crossover happens. Yeah. He has fourteen writing credits,
- 3:18Speaker 1: including the recent The Royal we as well as Love
- 3:22Speaker 1: Strikes Twice. He also wrote the screenplay for Sweet Home, Alabama,
- 3:26Speaker 1: starring Reese Witherspoon. Yeah, as I was writing these notes,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I was having serious DJEVO because I remember you also
- 3:33Speaker 1: including the same note. But it was so notable that
- 3:35Speaker 1: I feel like we had to mention it twice. Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Tory DeVito's stars as Sarah Majors. Tory has forty four
- 3:41Speaker 1: acting credits, including a long running role in the series
- 3:43Speaker 1: Chicago med for Hallmarks. She's appeared in Love's Greek to
- 3:46Speaker 1: Me Right Before Christmas and The Christmas Promise. She was
- 3:50Speaker 1: also like a super unhinged stalker on One Tree Hill. Oh,
- 3:55Speaker 1: like it's a guest appearance. Oh, a long running role.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It was like a kind of a long running role.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She was like a nanny that became obsessed with one
- 4:08Speaker 1: of the families. Yeah. And then then right before me
- 4:11Speaker 1: is a is there One Tree Hill Reunion? Because Chad
- 4:14Speaker 1: Michael Murray also stars in that movie? And what right
- 4:18Speaker 1: before Christmas? I'm sorry? Oh and oh really, Oh that's
- 4:21Speaker 1: so funny. Niall Mader plays and I can't believe we're
- 4:24Speaker 1: saying this. Rip Van Winkle Junior. Niall has sixty seven
- 4:29Speaker 1: acting credits and is well known on Homewark for his
- 4:32Speaker 1: appearances in Holiday Hotline and This Time Each Year, as
- 4:36Speaker 1: well as a memorable cameo in the Santa Summit. Can
- 4:40Speaker 1: I pause here for a second please? Niall was at
- 4:43Speaker 1: our weekend in Kansas City, right, Ye, yes, he was.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I remember he was. Was it quiet? Mm hmm? It
- 4:54Speaker 1: just it. It kind of floors me. I know he's
- 4:57Speaker 1: such a big fan favorite, but I remember him being
- 4:59Speaker 1: like so quiet. A lot of big personalities in that
- 5:04Speaker 1: that weekend. Yeah, like Plaja kind of like led the charge.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And then you have Ashley Williams, who's like so dynamic.
- 5:11Speaker 1: But I also think, you know, that weekend, Marcus Rossner
- 5:14Speaker 1: was there and that's his first fan event, and I
- 5:18Speaker 1: think he was really coming into his own and like
- 5:20Speaker 1: really enjoying the moment. Yeah, Rosner stands out to me
- 5:25Speaker 1: that way. Yeah, he was very fun. Yeah, so I
- 5:29Speaker 1: wish I wish no, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't
- 5:34Speaker 1: remember which panel he went to. It is so irrelevant.
- 5:38Speaker 1: He just wasn't in the panel that we went to,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and the panels I think were a little more intimate
- 5:42Speaker 1: in terms of the storytelling and the way. M h.
- 5:45Speaker 1: You kind of got an impression of the actors who
- 5:48Speaker 1: these people were. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Casey Manderson place officer
- 5:53Speaker 1: Ted Casey has appeared in sixty four projects, including Dating
- 5:56Speaker 1: the Delaney's and You're Baking Me Crazy for Hallmark both
- 5:59Speaker 1: favorite movie Girl's Gone Hallmark. Sorry to interrupt you, this
- 6:04Speaker 1: guy looks so familiar to me, not just as someone
- 6:09Speaker 1: who has appeared on Hallmark, but like somebody I don't
- 6:15Speaker 1: I can't put my finger on it, you know, it's
- 6:18Speaker 1: just like right there, Yeah, does this dude look like
- 6:23Speaker 1: I can't I don't know. I don't know. Eric. Oh
- 6:26Speaker 1: my god, Keenley Side God, okay, Eric, Keenley Side plays
- 6:32Speaker 1: Calvin Majors. Eric has a whopping two hundred acting credits
- 6:37Speaker 1: and so many projects, including Hallmark's The Wish, Swap and
- 6:41Speaker 1: a Rape and Raise the Glass Love, but also a
- 6:46Speaker 1: ton of non Hallmark projects, including the true crime docu
- 6:50Speaker 1: drama Happy Face. I'm afraid to ask what Happy Face is.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I believe Happy Face is. It's on one of the
- 7:00Speaker 1: big streamers right now. I know. I just saw it.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It's about the daughter of the Happy Face Killer. It's
- 7:04Speaker 1: giving clown Is it like that? I don't. I don't know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: because you know that I'm not going to watch that.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I didn't realize it was based on true crime. I
- 7:12Speaker 1: had seen the tagline for it when I was scrolling,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and it was something about that it was the story
- 7:19Speaker 1: of the daughter of the Happy Face Killer. I did
- 7:21Speaker 1: not know that the Happy Face Killer was a real
- 7:23Speaker 1: thing until IMDb told me that it was a true
- 7:25Speaker 1: crime crime docudrama, which makes it worse honestly. But yeah, no,
- 7:30Speaker 1: of course I have to look for it this weekend.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Thank you, no good. It is cinepping me out though,
- 7:36Speaker 1: just the name alone is creeping me out. Yes, I'm
- 7:38Speaker 1: very sorry for your sleep. Joshua Black plays Henry Major's
- 7:43Speaker 1: and this is his one and only acting credit per IMDb.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Greg Rogers plays Whylan. Greg is definitely a familiar face,
- 7:50Speaker 1: as he has sixty seven acting credits, including Hamewark projects
- 7:55Speaker 1: like Christmas with the Sings and A Dickens of a Holiday.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I believe that's seventy six acting credit. What did I
- 8:02Speaker 1: say sixty seven? Oh boy, Let's take a quick break
- 8:06Speaker 1: and come right back with our first impressions of Rip
- 8:09Speaker 1: in Time. Hey, Wendy, what's your first impression of Rip
- 8:19Speaker 1: in Time? Well? I thought I like the time travel genre.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Oh no, I know. Don't come for me. Don't don't
- 8:27Speaker 1: come for me. My first impression is I judged this
- 8:29Speaker 1: movie by its title and its synopsis, and I've never
- 8:32Speaker 1: been more wrong. Oh wow, Okay, we're gonna We're not
- 8:36Speaker 1: gonna fight, but we're gonna definitely discuss about it because
- 8:39Speaker 1: I just have some very like me feelings about it.
- 8:42Speaker 1: That is so funny, because when you told me like
- 8:46Speaker 1: you still had to watch this movie, I'm like, oh,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's such a fun watch, Like it won't feel like work.
- 8:50Speaker 1: But I didn't say that, and I'm glad I didn't
- 8:52Speaker 1: because I would have set your expectations astray. In my head,
- 8:57Speaker 1: I'm hearing like the let's get ready to rumble music.
- 8:59Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, no. Unfortunately we can't play
- 9:02Speaker 1: it due to rights. But fun fact, my husband has
- 9:05Speaker 1: recently discovered, uh, the plethora of WWF and WWE content
- 9:11Speaker 1: available on streaming. Like he's been watching old royal rumbles.
- 9:16Speaker 1: There's like a new seems fairly current series called Rivals
- 9:21Speaker 1: where they break down some of these like famous wrestling rivalries.
- 9:26Speaker 1: There's a lot of wrestling content happening. He also has
- 9:29Speaker 1: been streaming NonStop jackass content Jackass, where theer like doing
- 9:34Speaker 1: stupid things like like yes, stapling their scrotum to stude.
- 9:39Speaker 1: The other day, I come downstairs, he's like, I just
- 9:41Speaker 1: found Jackass Shark week. No, it's too much. Even our
- 9:46Speaker 1: sons like I do know, He's like, what are they doing? No? Yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 1: I have more jackass commentary, but I'll save it for
- 9:54Speaker 1: a pop culture club. All right, all right, let's talk
- 9:58Speaker 1: about what we liked. Let me be clear, I did
- 10:02Speaker 1: not not like this movie. Okay, okay. My first like is,
- 10:08Speaker 1: of course, this is a little it's not that old
- 10:11Speaker 1: of a movie. It's three years old maybe, And at
- 10:14Speaker 1: the time I have to appreciate that Hallmark is doing
- 10:17Speaker 1: was doing something a little different. We're not They're not
- 10:20Speaker 1: serving us like the typical Hallmark rom com, right, And yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 1: even seeing rom com, I don't even classify Hallmark movies
- 10:29Speaker 1: as rom com. There's like a handful that I would
- 10:34Speaker 1: classify as rom com. What would you call Hallmark movies
- 10:38Speaker 1: in general? Romantic stories? Yeah? Okay, yeah, but I think
- 10:45Speaker 1: some try a lot more harder, like, for example, very
- 10:49Speaker 1: soon dating the Delaney's I think leans more into calm
- 10:52Speaker 1: as opposed to her pen pal leans more into the
- 10:55Speaker 1: rem Yes, exactly exactly. But yeah, this is like a
- 11:01Speaker 1: almost like a romantic drama for sure, for sure, for sure.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And so I had to do a little bit of googling,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and I was like, OK, what time What other time
- 11:10Speaker 1: travel movies had come out prior to this movie? And
- 11:13Speaker 1: I didn't go back very far, but we had and
- 11:16Speaker 1: here's the list. A Timeless Christmas which we watched, Love
- 11:21Speaker 1: Strikes Twice Great, which we loved, who is also from
- 11:25Speaker 1: the same writer here, and Next Stop Christmas, which we
- 11:30Speaker 1: also also enjoyed. Yeah, solid movies, so I can see
- 11:36Speaker 1: why they wanted to keep this time travel capitalize on that.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but this didn't hit for you as much
- 11:43Speaker 1: as the others. I didn't find it as enjoyable. Yeah,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I didn't find it as enjoyable. What I did find enjoyable,
- 11:52Speaker 1: and I'm gonna move on here. I really enjoyed Nilemeter
- 11:56Speaker 1: and Tory DeVito, great chemistry. Lori Devido is not one
- 12:02Speaker 1: of the Hallmark regulars that I'm like, oh, I must
- 12:05Speaker 1: watch her movie, right, Yeah, but didn't you kind of
- 12:07Speaker 1: feel like that after today You're like, oh, she elevates
- 12:10Speaker 1: this movie so much one hundred percent. I thought she
- 12:14Speaker 1: was a I thought she was great, and I thought
- 12:18Speaker 1: her portrayal of Sarah was great. She was like tough, believable,
- 12:28Speaker 1: Like I really enjoyed her, Like for example, when her
- 12:33Speaker 1: kid comes in and is like, there's a homeless man
- 12:36Speaker 1: out in the barn, and then we see her call
- 12:38Speaker 1: for her dad, but then she's like storming out there
- 12:40Speaker 1: with her like rifle. I was like, yeah, girl, yes,
- 12:44Speaker 1: I loved it. I love not that like I'm pro
- 12:47Speaker 1: gun or anything, but I was like, she was going
- 12:49Speaker 1: to take care of business, you know, badass ladies. Yes, exactly.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So I really enjoyed that. Niall always impressed me. M M.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I loved he played kind of like this, like curious
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know this because this is these are all the
- 13:10Speaker 1: things we talk about in the way home. Jacob comes
- 13:12Speaker 1: back from the eighteen hundreds and he's the next day,
- 13:14Speaker 1: he's on the computers. There's no like what is this?
- 13:18Speaker 1: But Nile plays this character so well to me that
- 13:22Speaker 1: I thought it was a really funny, very a really
- 13:25Speaker 1: great mix of funny but like sincere moments, I it was,
- 13:31Speaker 1: it was, they were great. I thought they were great
- 13:33Speaker 1: together too. Yeah. So for me, for Nile, I thought,
- 13:39Speaker 1: as much as I don't think this is a rom com,
- 13:41Speaker 1: there were some great comedic moments, particularly he first arrives
- 13:44Speaker 1: and he like he calls he calls her a witch
- 13:47Speaker 1: and he's like, oh my apologies, you're a spinster and
- 13:50Speaker 1: she was like excuse me, and he was like she's
- 13:53Speaker 1: forced to wear pants to appear Manna. She's like the
- 13:55Speaker 1: pants threw me up. It just was so funny, like
- 13:57Speaker 1: he could he just kept digging himself into a hole.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Bit he stayed so in character. It is hard for
- 14:04Speaker 1: me to believe, and I put it in the show
- 14:06Speaker 1: notes like this man is playing Rip van Winkle Junior,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and I was like, I believe it. He was in character.
- 14:13Speaker 1: He was believable as this descendant of this fictional but
- 14:20Speaker 1: maybe not actually fictional character. He carries it through like
- 14:26Speaker 1: they didn't just drop it. To your point about Jacob,
- 14:29Speaker 1: he continued to be be fuddled by this timeframe, as
- 14:33Speaker 1: he would be when they go into this city. But
- 14:37Speaker 1: even when the officer shows up and he's like, you
- 14:39Speaker 1: have a carriage with no horses and he's in I
- 14:42Speaker 1: don't know if you notice, but when he's in the
- 14:44Speaker 1: police car and the officer is talking to uh, Sarah,
- 14:49Speaker 1: let me see your hands or something like that, Is
- 14:52Speaker 1: that what we were talking about. Well, no, I'm talking
- 14:54Speaker 1: about when Nile's in the backseat of the police car,
- 14:56Speaker 1: doors closed, the officer and Sarah are talking to other,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and you just see Nile like peeking his head between
- 15:01Speaker 1: the seats, like looking around at the car. It's amazing.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I thought the infusion of comedy was great. Oh it's
- 15:10Speaker 1: that same scene. He puts him in the car and
- 15:12Speaker 1: he goes, keep your hands where I can see him,
- 15:14Speaker 1: And then he puts his hands up in the window
- 15:16Speaker 1: like he's showing his hands. That was funny. But then
- 15:19Speaker 1: I didn't go I didn't continue to watch him like
- 15:22Speaker 1: poke around the car. That's funny, It's very funny. It's
- 15:25Speaker 1: really funny. Like you see his head just pop up
- 15:27Speaker 1: between the seats and he's just got this wide eyed look.
- 15:30Speaker 1: On the opposite end to your point about this being
- 15:34Speaker 1: more romantic drama than romantic comedy, there's some real cinematic
- 15:37Speaker 1: moments in this movie that I really liked. For example,
- 15:40Speaker 1: the dance scene that they cut into slow mo was
- 15:44Speaker 1: giving me all the romantic vibes. I was way into
- 15:47Speaker 1: the two of them, as well as their very cinematic,
- 15:50Speaker 1: notebook esque kiss in the pouring rain. That was an
- 15:54Speaker 1: incredible scene. Great, right, yeah, yeah, anything else you liked? Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: I have two more little comments. One about their romance.
- 16:06Speaker 1: It felt like started slow. It was a little slow
- 16:10Speaker 1: for me, but like I don't know what I'm expecting
- 16:13Speaker 1: at this at these points, like I'm like, are you
- 16:16Speaker 1: all in? Are you jumping all in fast forward? Because
- 16:20Speaker 1: where are we going to get? What's the ending going?
- 16:21Speaker 1: What's the endgame here? Sure? But I did get a
- 16:25Speaker 1: real good laugh at the end where he proposes and
- 16:28Speaker 1: she's She's like, whoa buddy. Basically we didn't go on
- 16:31Speaker 1: some dates and I was like, okay, that's totally realist.
- 16:34Speaker 1: That was great, Yeah, we don't get married yet. How
- 16:36Speaker 1: about we go out? Yep? Loved it. Ye love that.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And I also really liked that this story had them
- 16:45Speaker 1: kind of investigating this several possibilities of where and how
- 16:51Speaker 1: Rip came to be, especially there maybe and maybe I
- 16:58Speaker 1: interpreted it correctly, but we weren't they like were they like,
- 17:04Speaker 1: is he mentally unstable? Oh? Yeah, I think that was
- 17:07Speaker 1: being insinuated at some point. Yet I think like that.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I like that they're like you because you wouldn't just
- 17:14Speaker 1: be like, oh, you're from the past. Okay, great, of
- 17:17Speaker 1: course the first jump you make is not going to
- 17:19Speaker 1: be your two hundred and fifty years in the future. Yeah. Yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 1: So I like that they kind of you know, yeah,
- 17:26Speaker 1: that scene with the professor when he's like explaining how
- 17:30Speaker 1: this is how you could have possibly time traveled. I mean,
- 17:33Speaker 1: I'm not suggesting with the science is solid, but they
- 17:36Speaker 1: sold it to me. I thought that scene was great
- 17:37Speaker 1: when he demonstrates the wormhole. I have two thoughts on that.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It is in my like and it is also in
- 17:46Speaker 1: my wish, So okay, I really like that scene. I
- 17:49Speaker 1: thought that was a standout moment, especially like the way
- 17:52Speaker 1: that it was shot and how he was like going
- 17:54Speaker 1: through all the things like on the board and all
- 17:56Speaker 1: that whatever. Right, Yes, I thought that was very visually interesting.
- 18:02Speaker 1: But I will touch on it again in my wishes. Okay.
- 18:08Speaker 1: The only other comment I have is Calvin Majors played
- 18:11Speaker 1: by Eric Keenley Side the dad was just such a lovely,
- 18:15Speaker 1: heartwarming character for me. I just found him so comforting
- 18:21Speaker 1: to watch. But he was like a he Sometimes we
- 18:25Speaker 1: see these adult children living with their parents and there's
- 18:29Speaker 1: drama there. He was never any source of drama and
- 18:31Speaker 1: conflict for his daughter. He was just they were just
- 18:34Speaker 1: a tight, great family. And he was also the first
- 18:39Speaker 1: person to come around to kind of accepting who Rip
- 18:41Speaker 1: might be, which seemed like the least likely person to
- 18:46Speaker 1: come to that conclusion. I just really enjoyed him. I
- 18:49Speaker 1: have a super side question for you, okay, would you
- 18:53Speaker 1: ever want to live with your adult child child in
- 19:00Speaker 1: the future, Like, would you be would you be open
- 19:03Speaker 1: to that if you were if your husband had passed
- 19:06Speaker 1: or whatever the circumstance may be. Yes, I'm open to
- 19:10Speaker 1: the idea. I think I have no idea who my
- 19:13Speaker 1: adult children are going to be, and so whether or
- 19:16Speaker 1: not that's a good personality fit for us to live together,
- 19:20Speaker 1: but I think it makes a lot of sense. You know,
- 19:23Speaker 1: in their case, they were they made a lot of sense.
- 19:26Speaker 1: They worked well together, they were a great family unit.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Are you open to the idea of living with your
- 19:32Speaker 1: adult child forever and ever? Amen? Yeah? Yeah, I'm like,
- 19:38Speaker 1: can I move next door? It may just be the
- 19:42Speaker 1: time of life I'm in right now. Sure, Yeah, that
- 19:45Speaker 1: would be amazing with a grandchild too. Hell yeah yeah,
- 19:49Speaker 1: with your grandchild and you just get to experience their life. Yeah, yes, yes, yes, Okay,
- 19:56Speaker 1: all right, what did you wish for? Okay? So for me,
- 20:00Speaker 1: this is where this is where this movie falls apart
- 20:06Speaker 1: from me a little bit. Okay. The tone of the
- 20:11Speaker 1: movie felt heavy, not emotionally heavy like we talked about
- 20:16Speaker 1: in One Summer or North to Home, but I felt
- 20:19Speaker 1: like the majority of the scenes were dimly lit, like
- 20:23Speaker 1: everything seemed to kind of dark when exception of when
- 20:26Speaker 1: they went to New York, and that was done well
- 20:30Speaker 1: because she was like don't freak out, don't freak out,
- 20:32Speaker 1: and it was like crazy and chaotic, but everything else
- 20:35Speaker 1: was kind of like somber to me, just because the
- 20:38Speaker 1: scenes were so dark interesting. There was also some music
- 20:43Speaker 1: choices that gave it this kind of somber feel. So
- 20:49Speaker 1: it made it and I don't want to say less interesting.
- 20:53Speaker 1: It made it kind of what is a good word,
- 20:56Speaker 1: I'm looking for sleepy? Okay to me a little bit.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But then here's the other thing. In contrast, we have
- 21:06Speaker 1: some very funny moments, very humorous dialogue, and so I
- 21:13Speaker 1: was a little bit confused with the overall tone we
- 21:17Speaker 1: were going for. That's why it like kind of goes
- 21:20Speaker 1: back to my beginning. I'm like, this was Was this
- 21:23Speaker 1: a rom com? Or is this a family drama? Is
- 21:27Speaker 1: this a what? Yeah? I go back to the conversation
- 21:31Speaker 1: we had with Jeff Easley where we talked about, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 1: he's directed like a day Spring movie and how, particularly
- 21:39Speaker 1: like Miracle and Bethlehem, PA with Benjamin Ayers, how that
- 21:46Speaker 1: movie has kind of like a because it's a day
- 21:49Speaker 1: Spring movie, has like a real somber tone. But to
- 21:52Speaker 1: you have to infuse humor into those movies, like you
- 21:56Speaker 1: wouldn't call it a comedy, but it's a drama that
- 21:58Speaker 1: has comedic moments. That's what this felt like to me.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I I totally hear you. It was dark, and I'm
- 22:07Speaker 1: sitting here here trying to process the reason why. And
- 22:09Speaker 1: I'm not enough of a cinematic critic to be able
- 22:12Speaker 1: to parse that. But I agree with you. At felt dark.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It didn't bother me. I really liked this movie. I uh,
- 22:20Speaker 1: obviously as it felt like. When people suggested, I was like,
- 22:26Speaker 1: there's no way, There's no way, and I really liked it.
- 22:29Speaker 1: But I wonder why it is so dark. It's a
- 22:31Speaker 1: great question. I don't know. I have a couple other things,
- 22:36Speaker 1: if I may. Yeah, let me preface this with saying
- 22:39Speaker 1: we live in a world, a post the Way Home
- 22:42Speaker 1: world where I have accepted that time travel via pond
- 22:45Speaker 1: as possible. Right. But with that said, as much as
- 22:49Speaker 1: I like that that scientist scene, his explanation was far
- 22:54Speaker 1: too complex for me to fully grasp, and I was like,
- 22:58Speaker 1: please dumb it down, Please sumb it down for me.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I didn't understand it either. Like the folded paper, I'm like, oh,
- 23:04Speaker 1: that's how the wormhole was created. Like the metals in
- 23:08Speaker 1: the cave Boom you time traveled. I mean, none of
- 23:10Speaker 1: it makes any sense to me. Time travel makes my
- 23:13Speaker 1: head spin. But yes, that was definitely scientifically over my head. Yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and then the one last thing and then we can
- 23:19Speaker 1: go onto your wishes. I didn't like the bullying of
- 23:23Speaker 1: Sarah's son Hat. It feels super uncomfortable. I also hated
- 23:30Speaker 1: that very much. I don't have a lot of wishes.
- 23:33Speaker 1: In fact, I have just one, and it's just it's
- 23:36Speaker 1: not even about the movie. It's about Officer Ted. I
- 23:38Speaker 1: just wanted him to take a long walk off of
- 23:40Speaker 1: a short pair. I hated him so much. Oh my god,
- 23:43Speaker 1: really he plays Yeah, I think he's an absolute villain
- 23:47Speaker 1: in this movie, particularly when he has that scene with
- 23:50Speaker 1: Rip where he's like, you are harming this family by
- 23:53Speaker 1: being here. You've turned them into a laughing stock in
- 23:56Speaker 1: the community. I you know, Rip did not come here
- 24:02Speaker 1: of his own volition. He's done nothing but be helpful
- 24:06Speaker 1: and lovely and stay out of their way. And I
- 24:11Speaker 1: was so angry with Officer Ted. And I was also
- 24:14Speaker 1: as a woman, I would like, read the room. She
- 24:16Speaker 1: is sending you the signals that she is not interested,
- 24:20Speaker 1: leave her alone and he just tries to. Obviously she
- 24:25Speaker 1: has a connection with Rip, and he's like, you're hurting them.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Get out of here, you get out of here, officer ted.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I see that, all right, But he didn't. He didn't
- 24:35Speaker 1: bother me that much. No, I hate, I mean filled
- 24:38Speaker 1: with rage. I have those moments too, not in this
- 24:42Speaker 1: movie though this do did you see that? I have
- 24:47Speaker 1: just two little ones. One and they're not true? Did
- 24:50Speaker 1: you see that? But one at the beginning, when they're
- 24:54Speaker 1: putting the pennies down in the in the garden to
- 24:58Speaker 1: keep snails away, I was like, what this is new
- 25:01Speaker 1: news to me. It's real snail heavy right now in
- 25:05Speaker 1: my backyard. And I try to like always plant like
- 25:09Speaker 1: a little garden, and the snails always eat it. So
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna be putting some pennies down, I think, Hey,
- 25:16Speaker 1: I was. I was very excited about that. The other
- 25:19Speaker 1: one is on older movies like this. When we re
- 25:23Speaker 1: review I like to go into IMDb and look at
- 25:26Speaker 1: the at the like uh user comments, uh huh. There
- 25:31Speaker 1: are several more than one review that praised this movie
- 25:37Speaker 1: for its lack of wokeness and oh good affirmative action
- 25:43Speaker 1: that is so common on the hall Mark Today, and
- 25:46Speaker 1: I was like, Wow, I haven't seen comments like these
- 25:48Speaker 1: in a couple of years. Wow. I loved this movie
- 25:52Speaker 1: because it was so white. Yes, yike, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 1: that's all I got. What about you? First of all,
- 26:07Speaker 1: none of mine are true digits. That's but when Sarah
- 26:11Speaker 1: and Rip are talking about her past and she he
- 26:15Speaker 1: asks her about being married, and she's like, Nope, never married,
- 26:17Speaker 1: just baby daddy, and he was like baby daddy And
- 26:19Speaker 1: I was like, have we ever heard baby Daddy on Hallmark?
- 26:23Speaker 1: I loved that she was never married. I loved that
- 26:26Speaker 1: it was no big deal. I love that she's just
- 26:28Speaker 1: this happy, centered, grounded woman who's not like recovering from
- 26:33Speaker 1: the trauma of not having a partner, yeah, a divorce
- 26:37Speaker 1: or a widowed husband. Yeah. Yes, loved it. Life happens. Yep,
- 26:43Speaker 1: I did pull a couple IMDb digite. That's just because
- 26:46Speaker 1: sometimes people see things that we don't. Uh. And one
- 26:51Speaker 1: is that the uh intentional or not? No to back
- 26:58Speaker 1: to the future when Rip realizes that he is in
- 27:02Speaker 1: twenty twenty two and then he faints, the same thing
- 27:05Speaker 1: happens to Marty McFly when he wakes up after hitting
- 27:08Speaker 1: his head. Oh say he had a horrible nightmare, and
- 27:11Speaker 1: then his mother is right next to him and he
- 27:15Speaker 1: freaks out again. Another person points out, because they do
- 27:18Speaker 1: try and well. Officer Ted I believe looks up his
- 27:20Speaker 1: military records and he's like, there's no record of this dude.
- 27:24Speaker 1: But someone pointed out if they have his real full name,
- 27:28Speaker 1: it wouldn't be that hard to verify his military service
- 27:31Speaker 1: even as far back as the Revolutionary War. The National
- 27:34Speaker 1: Archives holds records relating to military service during the Revolutionary War,
- 27:38Speaker 1: including both continental and state troops. Wow, that's impressive. Yeah, hey,
- 27:46Speaker 1: just one more. As we're talking here, I was thinking
- 27:49Speaker 1: about it. You know when they take the bullet from
- 27:51Speaker 1: his body, his leg or whatever, and then they're just
- 27:54Speaker 1: like walking around holding it. Would you just hold it
- 27:57Speaker 1: with your hands like that wouldn't put it in jar
- 28:00Speaker 1: a jar, a plastic baggy or the guys just like
- 28:05Speaker 1: holding it. Yeah, keep from somebody's body. That just seems weird. Agree? Agree?
- 28:12Speaker 1: What did you rate RIP in time? You guys don't
- 28:15Speaker 1: send your emails. I give it three stars. That's not
- 28:19Speaker 1: a bad score. I'm depping on a T shirt. Three stars,
- 28:24Speaker 1: that's not a bad rating. I give it four point
- 28:26Speaker 1: two five stars. All right, thank you for listening to
