- 0:02Speaker 1: Boom.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I'm all excited.
- 0:10Speaker 3: I'm all like, hey, what's up, boy? No, because it's
- 0:14Speaker 3: been a minute. Because the last time I seen you was,
- 0:17Speaker 3: when was the last time I seen you?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Sacramento.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Was it Sacramento?
- 0:20Speaker 1: In February.
- 0:21Speaker 3: That's right. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. For some reason, I
- 0:24Speaker 3: keep thinking East Coast. Because when I first met you
- 0:27Speaker 3: was in Norfolk.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yep, Virginia.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Virginia. Because we also do the one degree of separation. Yeah,
- 0:35Speaker 3: what you call it? And then, but yeah, no, so
- 0:39Speaker 3: what else has been going on?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Oh, man, life is awesome. Life is good. Working just
- 0:45Speaker 1: as much as I can. The summertime up north is
- 0:48Speaker 1: typically slower for comedy. And so that's when I get
- 0:52Speaker 1: out and head like out west or New York, you know.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So that's what I'll be doing this summer, doing a
- 0:58Speaker 1: lot of that. Like, June, July is kind of tough
- 1:00Speaker 1: for comedy.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Yeah, because, like, because you guys finally, you're not snowed
- 1:04Speaker 3: in and shit. Yeah, we get to get.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Outside, you know, so it kind of slows down here.
- 1:07Speaker 3: That's what it's like in Seattle. Like, up in the
- 1:10Speaker 3: Pacific Northwest, it's like, if it's not, if it's, like,
- 1:13Speaker 3: during the rainy season, everyone's in the comedy clubs and
- 1:15Speaker 3: all that stuff, but as soon, matter of fact, if
- 1:16Speaker 3: there's one day of sun and it happens to land
- 1:19Speaker 3: on your weekend, like, ain't nobody coming out.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It's over.
- 1:22Speaker 3: It's over.
- 1:22Speaker 1: That's how it is here. So, like, My dates here really, from,
- 1:28Speaker 1: what is it, what did we just have, Memorial Day?
- 1:30Speaker 1: From Memorial Day to Labor Day, I kind of just
- 1:33Speaker 1: go all over the country.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Yeah. I was going to say, this is the first
- 1:37Speaker 3: time I've been in Detroit, and I was telling you,
- 1:39Speaker 3: I was like, it's dope. I like the feel. I
- 1:42Speaker 3: came in and I was like, oh, it's got this
- 1:43Speaker 3: nice little old feeling, but like, It just feels like
- 1:46Speaker 3: everything's renovated and high-teched out, though, too. So it has character,
- 1:51Speaker 3: but it's also like, no, I got internet, too.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. It really started developing. Dan Gilbert, who owns
- 2:00Speaker 1: Cleveland Cavaliers, and what's the other thing? It's a mortgage company, Rocket.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so he brought his headquarters here. Oh, so that
- 2:10Speaker 1: was really big for Detroit. It was a big development.
- 2:13Speaker 3: This little area is dope, too. I'm like, yeah, I
- 2:16Speaker 3: looked on the schedule and because across the street is
- 2:18Speaker 3: the baseball. Yeah. And then the other across the street
- 2:20Speaker 3: is the football, right? Football. Yep.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And then across the street on the other side is basketball.
- 2:25Speaker 3: I didn't see the basketball.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Little Caesars Arena. That's basketball and hockey.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Okay. Oh, shit. Dang. You can say shit, can't you? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 3: You can say shit. But, yeah, that's crazy. And then
- 2:35Speaker 3: I looked up the, like, I was like, I seen
- 2:37Speaker 3: the Comerica, and I was like, oh, I wonder if
- 2:40Speaker 3: they're playing. They're playing at 6. I was like, I'm
- 2:42Speaker 3: going to go.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Who are they playing tonight?
- 2:43Speaker 3: They're playing the Seattle Mariners.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:46Speaker 3: And I'm an Oakland A's fan, so I was like, cool,
- 2:47Speaker 3: I can root for the Detroit Tigers because the Mariners
- 2:50Speaker 3: are in our division. But I was like, cool, cool.
- 2:51Speaker 3: So I'm going to go check it out.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It's a great part. Yeah. You're going to like it
- 2:54Speaker 1: a lot.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I can't wait. I can't wait.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'm hella excited. It's a great part.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And get some good food while you're here.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Like where? Where do you recommend? As someone that
- 3:03Speaker 3: knows food.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I love food.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yes. Where should I go?
- 3:07Speaker 1: So some good authentic Detroit pizzas right across the street.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Buddy's Pizza is really, really good.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I love Detroit pizza. Do you have the square?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the square.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 1: With the sauce, a little sauce on top. Oh, it's
- 3:18Speaker 1: so good. I used to work at their original one
- 3:20Speaker 1: years ago. But that's a great place. Then right next
- 3:23Speaker 1: door to there, the Detroit Beer Company has great food. Okay.
- 3:28Speaker 1: There's really, really good food in.
- 3:29Speaker 3: There, too. I'm excited. It's good. Yeah. It made me
- 3:32Speaker 3: sick because I was thinking about that, too, last night.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Because I got in yesterday, and I was like, oh,
- 3:36Speaker 3: I want to eat and something. But I was like,
- 3:38Speaker 3: I don't know where to go because I'm in Detroit.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And I was like, and I just got here. And, like,
- 3:42Speaker 3: you know, we're three hours ahead when I'm coming from
- 3:44Speaker 3: the West Coast. So everything was, like, closed. I was like, fuck.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I was going to start TikTok and stuff and seeing, like,
- 3:48Speaker 3: you know, who– What's the best burrito or the best,
- 3:52Speaker 3: you know, I always do them.
- 3:53Speaker 1: In a different place. Oh, you got to go to
- 3:53Speaker 1: Mexican Town.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Oh, there's Mexican Town?
- 3:55Speaker 1: There's Mexican Town. Maybe like from here, like five, six
- 3:59Speaker 1: minutes from here.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I rented a car, so I was like, I'm going to. Oh,
- 4:02Speaker 3: got to go.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Good food. Mexican Village, Armando's, amazing, amazing food. The food
- 4:08Speaker 1: trucks are even dope. You ever had burrito pizza?
- 4:11Speaker 3: No.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Oh, shit is fire.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Oh, no way.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Dude, and then also, too, I was driving when I
- 4:18Speaker 3: was coming from the airport. And, like, I don't even
- 4:22Speaker 3: know geography that well. But, like, it was so funny
- 4:24Speaker 3: because as we were driving, I'm like, I was like, oh,
- 4:27Speaker 3: if I take this left, I'll go to Canada?
- 4:30Speaker 1: You will end up in Canada by mistake.
- 4:32Speaker 3: By mistake, yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And the cars will be on you. The dogs will
- 4:35Speaker 1: be on you. It's happened. Really? Yeah, don't go out
- 4:38Speaker 1: on a late night and have two drinks. That's great.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And veer off to the left. You're in Canada. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I was like, dude, this is... I was like, that's crazy.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's scary.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And I was thinking in my head, I was like,
- 4:47Speaker 3: I mean, is it easy to get into Canada, though?
- 4:50Speaker 1: Well, it used to be so easy. Do you have a...
- 4:53Speaker 1: You have your passport with you?
- 4:54Speaker 3: I do have a... I have a passport card. Okay.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And then I have also, like, my driver's license is
- 4:58Speaker 3: one of those enhanced ones.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Enhanced, yeah. You should be able to go to Canada
- 5:02Speaker 1: with that.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Because I was thinking about just fucking just going over
- 5:04Speaker 3: there and, you know.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It's dope. I can't go.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Um....
- 5:09Speaker 1: You get in a little trouble over here, they don't
- 5:11Speaker 1: want to let you over there.
- 5:12Speaker 3: They're all picky and shit.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That's the only country I've been kicked out of.
- 5:15Speaker 3: That's hella funny.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I'm kicked out of Canada. Some bullshit.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Kicked out by the Canucks.
- 5:21Speaker 1: But I live close to the, if you've seen, I
- 5:23Speaker 1: have two bridges. The new one isn't open yet, but
- 5:25Speaker 1: I live very close to that new bridge.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Okay. I was looking, yeah, because when I land places, too,
- 5:31Speaker 3: I always like to check the whole geography just in case,
- 5:33Speaker 3: you know, so I know where I'm at. And then
- 5:34Speaker 3: that's when I was like, oh damn, like, okay, like it's,
- 5:37Speaker 3: we're this close. And then as we're, I'm driving here,
- 5:39Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, if I take that, that left right there,
- 5:41Speaker 3: I'm in Canada. And it's so funny because you take
- 5:43Speaker 3: the other right and you're right back, you're in downtown.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I was like, it's like, I don't know if you've
- 5:47Speaker 3: ever been to El Paso, but in El Paso, you
- 5:49Speaker 3: go to the downtown and there's, there's a, there's like
- 5:52Speaker 3: a footbridge where you just walk over and you're in
- 5:54Speaker 3: New Mexico. Really? Yeah. And I was like, that's great.
- 5:56Speaker 3: And I said, fuck it, let's go. Me and this
- 5:59Speaker 3: other fool went, we were like, cool. And he was like,
- 6:01Speaker 3: cause it was, cause you're in Juarez, you're like in,
- 6:03Speaker 3: It's funny because everybody in California is always like, when
- 6:08Speaker 3: I go to TJ, they're like, yeah, but Juarez is crazy.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Don't go to Juarez. And I was like, fuck it.
- 6:15Speaker 3: So I was like, I want to check this out. Because, yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 3: tell me not to. I'll go. So I went over there.
- 6:18Speaker 3: And then I'm in Juarez, kicking it. And then the
- 6:21Speaker 3: dude goes, where are you from? I go, I'm originally
- 6:23Speaker 3: from California. And I've been to TJ before. He goes, oh,
- 6:26Speaker 3: TJ is too bad. But we don't ever go over there.
- 6:28Speaker 3: I go, both of you guys are just kidding.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I was like, yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 3: But he was like, no, if you want to find trouble,
- 6:32Speaker 3: it'll find you. You'll find it. But, you know, you're cool.
- 6:35Speaker 2: You're cool.
- 6:35Speaker 3: You're not going. I was like, yeah, yeah, fuck that.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I'm crazy.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I'm here to have a good time, check it out
- 6:40Speaker 1: and go and buy my business.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah. But they're trying to say they're safe. But it's like, dude,
- 6:43Speaker 3: at night you can look over and you can see,
- 6:46Speaker 3: you know, you can hear gunshots and you can see
- 6:48Speaker 3: all because like in El Paso, you're on top like
- 6:51Speaker 3: the hill and you could just look down and see
- 6:52Speaker 3: all of what is as crazy as a trip. But, yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 3: Canada is all nice, though, right?
- 6:57Speaker 1: It is too nice. It's too nice. Their projects ain't
- 6:59Speaker 1: even real projects. They only have real roaches. They're bougie roaches.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And you've lived here all your life?
- 7:07Speaker 1: For the most part. I'm originally from Alaska.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I didn't know that. Yeah, my dad was military.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And I was born there in Anchorage on the Air
- 7:17Speaker 1: Force Base, Elmendorf Air Force Base. And I came to
- 7:20Speaker 1: Detroit when I was six.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And so we moved around a little bit because we
- 7:24Speaker 1: weren't sure we wanted to settle here. My mom's from Brooklyn,
- 7:26Speaker 1: New York. My dad's from Detroit. And so we went
- 7:29Speaker 1: to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for a little bit. And my mom
- 7:34Speaker 1: was like, I don't want to be here. It was
- 7:36Speaker 1: really like the movie, the show, The Wire. That's how
- 7:39Speaker 1: it was back then in the late 80s, mid-80s. It
- 7:42Speaker 1: was like that for real. And she's like, you know
- 7:44Speaker 1: it's bad when you'd rather live in Detroit.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Right? During that time. Damn.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So we ended up back here. And I've been here
- 7:52Speaker 1: ever since.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah. And I was going to say, too, and then
- 7:56Speaker 3: you started stand-up, what? Like recently or not recently?
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's been 11 years.
- 8:01Speaker 3: 11 years.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I started in 2015. I was on this ski trip.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And we took the bus. It's an MLK ski trip
- 8:08Speaker 1: that they have every year. And Gatlinburg, Tennessee is about
- 8:12Speaker 1: a 10-hour drive. We took the bus. The whole way there,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I'm making them laugh, cracking them up. And then they
- 8:18Speaker 1: had a comedy show, and I really got the bug
- 8:20Speaker 1: because I was like, I could do this. And so
- 8:22Speaker 1: on the way back, they're like, you know, we're going
- 8:23Speaker 1: to have a talent show on the bus to keep
- 8:24Speaker 1: people awake, you know. And my friends are like, get
- 8:27Speaker 1: up there and tell some jokes. And so I go up.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I do four minutes of just talking about the weekend,
- 8:31Speaker 1: making them laugh about the weekend. And there was a
- 8:34Speaker 1: guy on the bus who was like, hey, you're natural.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You're funny. I think you can do this. I'm going
- 8:38Speaker 1: to take you to a club. He took me to
- 8:41Speaker 1: the biggest comedy night at that time in the city
- 8:43Speaker 1: was ran by a guy named Kool-Aid, who recently passed away. But, yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 1: Kool-Aid was the big comic here in the city. On
- 8:49Speaker 1: Monday night, he ran it at Baker's. He took me
- 8:52Speaker 1: and introduced him. One Monday, the next Monday, I was there,
- 8:56Speaker 1: packed house. Like, everybody named Mama came to see me.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And he asked, I'm cocky. I don't know comedy for real.
- 9:03Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 9:04Speaker 1: He's like, can you do seven minutes?
- 9:05Speaker 3: I'm like.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I could do seven minutes. Not knowing. Now I know
- 9:09Speaker 1: seven minutes is an eternity.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Especially to a newer comic.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: It's forever. But I got up there, and the people
- 9:16Speaker 1: were there to see me, you know, so they were
- 9:18Speaker 1: rocking with me. I probably wasn't the best, but the
- 9:21Speaker 1: audience was there for me.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Support.
- 9:23Speaker 1: 22 minutes. My very first time.
- 9:25Speaker 3: No.
- 9:26Speaker 1: He just let me go. He didn't like me. He
- 9:27Speaker 1: didn't bring me down. He just let me go.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And he said, you lied. You've done this before. I said, no,
- 9:32Speaker 1: I've been doing it all my life, you know, just
- 9:34Speaker 1: not on stage. And that was it.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Just got to figure out how to amplify it. It's
- 9:38Speaker 3: funny because you said you took a trip. You're always
- 9:41Speaker 3: taking trips.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm always gone.
- 9:42Speaker 3: You're always gone. Did you ever go back to Africa? No. Okay.
- 9:47Speaker 1: No, we were supposed to go in October. I went
- 9:49Speaker 1: in last, when did we go?
- 9:51Speaker 3: We went in. June.
- 9:52Speaker 1: June.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I was a junior. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And I was supposed to go back to October, but
- 9:56Speaker 1: I don't have to go back because it was very
- 9:58Speaker 1: close to where we were already. And we didn't really
- 10:00Speaker 1: get out to see much.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: But I didn't have to go. I was okay.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And then my dude wasn't going with me. So it
- 10:11Speaker 1: was like, you know.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, because being away for that long, too, again, or
- 10:15Speaker 3: even all that, just the airplane trips, it's like, yeah,
- 10:17Speaker 3: if you're going to be gone from your significant other, too,
- 10:19Speaker 3: it's like, all right, we need to make a little
- 10:21Speaker 3: more adjustments or it needs to be way, way worth
- 10:22Speaker 3: the while for it.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And it wasn't for work. That second trip wasn't for work,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you know, because that was tough. That was tough for
- 10:28Speaker 1: what we did.
- 10:28Speaker 3: That was tough. It's a trip when I see it
- 10:30Speaker 3: sometimes on– I see it on a movie. I was
- 10:32Speaker 3: watching a movie, and it was like– it said, you know,
- 10:37Speaker 3: it was like Djibouti Air Force Base– no, no, no,
- 10:39Speaker 3: it didn't say Djibouti Air Force Base. It said– What
- 10:42Speaker 3: the hell is the base called? It's in French.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I know the movie you're talking about because I
- 10:47Speaker 1: just recently saw it.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but I know exactly.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's going to blow my mind.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Oh, that's where we were.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Yeah. And I go, that's in Djibouti. And I go, yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 3: And then the next thing they showed, oh, it was Sicario.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I was watching Sicario 1 or 2.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:59Speaker 3: And they were doing an interrogation inside Casablanca. like one
- 11:07Speaker 3: of the cargo things. And I was telling my wife
- 11:09Speaker 3: and I was telling the stepdad, I was like, yo,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I was like, that's where we slept at. We slept
- 11:12Speaker 3: in those things. And I go, there was an air
- 11:14Speaker 3: conditioner and it was like, it was good. The air
- 11:16Speaker 3: conditioner worked really well though. I ain't gonna lie.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It worked too good. Cause I was going outside cause
- 11:20Speaker 1: I was too cold. I adjusted to a hundred plus
- 11:23Speaker 1: degree weather.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a trip. And then the internet too,
- 11:27Speaker 3: we had to like buy internet to like finally get it.
- 11:29Speaker 3: It was, it was interesting. It was an interesting base and, Yes.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I can't remember. Lejeune.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Lejeune.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Something.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's L-E-J.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Some shit. Ah, fuck. I can't remember now. But, yeah, no,
- 11:43Speaker 3: that was a trip. It was funny, too, because, like,
- 11:44Speaker 3: when we were in Ethiopia really quick for a second,
- 11:46Speaker 3: because we landed there, and I went out for a
- 11:49Speaker 3: little bit really quick. I just went, like, I started, like,
- 11:51Speaker 3: just exploring a little bit on the side. And I
- 11:53Speaker 3: was like, hey, this is a big-ass metropolis. Yeah. I
- 11:56Speaker 3: was like, okay. I was like. The way that they
- 11:58Speaker 3: portray it to us all the time, it's nothing like that.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Exactly. And it's crazy once you get there. And a
- 12:04Speaker 1: lot of these countries in Africa on the continent aren't
- 12:09Speaker 1: what we've been seeing all our lives. You don't have
- 12:12Speaker 1: the poor kids with the flies. I'm pretty sure it
- 12:14Speaker 1: exists because poverty exists everywhere. But these people are thriving.
- 12:18Speaker 1: They have big businesses, big buildings, everything that we have here.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Everything that we have here.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Everything. And it was a trip, too. And then there was...
- 12:27Speaker 3: There was something, oh, oh, that was another thing too.
- 12:29Speaker 3: So when we were doing, um, when we did, when
- 12:32Speaker 3: we were in Doha, we went to Doha and then
- 12:35Speaker 3: we went somewhere else. Well, they were, uh, when they
- 12:37Speaker 3: were bombing, um, that base, I was.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Telling, I was telling my wife, I go, I was,
- 12:41Speaker 1: we were just there.
- 12:42Speaker 3: We were just there.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It was literally days. It wasn't even, we weren't, we
- 12:46Speaker 1: weren't even home yet.
- 12:47Speaker 3: You remember that? Yeah. It was a trip. Cause I go,
- 12:49Speaker 3: cause the paper, the people that were filming the, the
- 12:51Speaker 3: bombing of the base, um, I was telling my wife,
- 12:54Speaker 3: I go, that's pretty much the angle of where the
- 12:57Speaker 3: gym is at. I go, because we were in the gym.
- 12:58Speaker 3: And I go, you could see the base. And I go,
- 13:00Speaker 3: that's great. They're filming in the hotel they were at.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And I go, I hella didn't feel safe. And I
- 13:04Speaker 3: remember telling you guys, too. I go, I took all
- 13:07Speaker 3: the knives out of the kitchen and kept them with
- 13:09Speaker 3: me in the bedroom just in case. Because I go,
- 13:11Speaker 3: I could feel it. They don't like us here.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It was an uncomfortable feeling. I knew the energy. was different,
- 13:19Speaker 1: especially in Bahrain. I felt it in Bahrain. I felt
- 13:23Speaker 1: it in Bahrain. And then when we got to the
- 13:25Speaker 1: next place, remember they were bringing all the people from
- 13:28Speaker 1: Bahrain to where we were?
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Because that's when the bombing happened. We weren't even home yet.
- 13:34Speaker 1: We were just in another city. Remember they were taking
- 13:36Speaker 1: the buses? At the hotel in.
- 13:40Speaker 3: In that place that we're in.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Was it Italy that we were in? It was either
- 13:43Speaker 1: Italy or.
- 13:44Speaker 3: I think Naples.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Or Naples. When they were, that hotel, they had the
- 13:47Speaker 1: buses pulling up with the families.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:49Speaker 1: That flew in, that they flew over from.
- 13:51Speaker 3: And they told us, too, they go, it's going to
- 13:52Speaker 3: be light tonight because there's real world shit going on. Yes.
- 13:55Speaker 3: And I was like, ew. I was like, okay. And
- 13:57Speaker 3: then I started making jokes about that on stage because
- 14:01Speaker 3: I usually, I was like, I go, yeah, they, yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 3: they were like, it's time for you guys to go.
- 14:05Speaker 3: And I was like, yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 1: You're going to tell me twice.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I got way more respect for military than I
- 14:12Speaker 3: ever did. I was like, I had respect already, but
- 14:13Speaker 3: I got even more now because I was like, yo, yes,
- 14:16Speaker 3: send me home. I'm good. And then they sent me,
- 14:18Speaker 3: they sent me and Eric because they didn't, because they
- 14:20Speaker 3: couldn't send, you made it, you made it though. You
- 14:22Speaker 3: got to make your flight back home on time.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I was running. I was the last person on the flight.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I was musty by the time I got there.
- 14:29Speaker 3: We didn't even get to say goodbyes either because you
- 14:31Speaker 3: were like, I got to go. I was like, all right, go, cut, cut, cut.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I was like, run. And then, um, So me and Eric,
- 14:36Speaker 3: they sent us, they made us miss our last flight.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So then they were like, you have to stay here
- 14:40Speaker 3: for another 12 hours in Spain. And then after that Spain,
- 14:43Speaker 3: they sent us to Mexico City. And then we had
- 14:46Speaker 3: to fly. Then we had to fly back. He went
- 14:47Speaker 3: to Houston and I went to Vegas. But it was
- 14:49Speaker 3: a trip because I go, dog, they're sending us to
- 14:52Speaker 3: Mexico City. And I was like, my name is Carlos Rodriguez, dog.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I don't know if they'll.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Let me back. You don't know a lick of Spanish either.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I don't know a lick of Spanish.
- 15:00Speaker 3: And it's deep.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I was like, okay.
- 15:03Speaker 3: And then Sydney got screwed because she had to stay
- 15:06Speaker 3: there like an extra day and a half. And she
- 15:08Speaker 3: was like, yeah, I was in my hotel room. Because
- 15:10Speaker 3: it's the end of the trip. You're spent.
- 15:12Speaker 1: We're exhausted. And I tell people all the time, you
- 15:16Speaker 1: look at what somebody's doing and you say, man, I
- 15:18Speaker 1: wish I could do that. You don't know what that
- 15:20Speaker 1: person is doing. You don't know. It looks good when
- 15:24Speaker 1: we take pictures and say what we are. But you
- 15:26Speaker 1: don't know that I've been up since 5 a.m. getting
- 15:29Speaker 1: dressed to be downstairs in the lobby at 6.30 a.m.
- 15:32Speaker 1: to go and do a show at 8 in the morning,
- 15:34Speaker 1: to then have to do another show at noon, and
- 15:37Speaker 1: have to do another show at 5, and try to
- 15:40Speaker 1: eat in between and get a break in between. And
- 15:43Speaker 1: then the next day, I get back up at 3
- 15:46Speaker 1: in the morning to get on a flight to go
- 15:47Speaker 1: to a whole other city, another country. And so you
- 15:50Speaker 1: don't know what we're doing. You don't know what I
- 15:52Speaker 1: have to want it. And I promise you, a lot
- 15:54Speaker 1: of people can't do it.
- 15:55Speaker 3: It's not easy. it's not easy. And on top of
- 15:57Speaker 3: that too, a testament to like, uh, to, to how
- 16:00Speaker 3: like we were a grown, grown and professional too. Cause
- 16:03Speaker 3: like there was four of us and we, none of
- 16:05Speaker 3: us gotten arguments. None of us got in trouble. Yeah. Completely. Yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Well I knew, I knew Sydney and I knew you
- 16:12Speaker 3: and I knew, and I knew Eric. So I'm the
- 16:13Speaker 3: only one that knew everybody at once. But like I was, uh,
- 16:17Speaker 3: it was good because like, um, No one got on
- 16:20Speaker 3: anyone's nerves. That was another thing, too. At one point,
- 16:24Speaker 3: you'd be like, man, I can't talk to this motherfucker
- 16:26Speaker 3: no more.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I was ready for that, but it just went smooth.
- 16:29Speaker 3: It went smooth. Everyone was like, cool. Because it was good.
- 16:31Speaker 3: If someone, like Eric one day, he just was like, hey, man,
- 16:34Speaker 3: I'm not feeling it, James. All right, well, then stay
- 16:36Speaker 3: in your room, man. It's all good. Don't even worry
- 16:37Speaker 3: about it. You don't have to strain yourself out. Everything's chill.
- 16:41Speaker 1: We rallied behind one another. We could tell when it
- 16:43Speaker 1: was a low day for Sidney, when it was a
- 16:44Speaker 1: low day for me, when we just got behind one another.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And that's amazing. I believe in fate and destiny, and
- 16:52Speaker 1: that was definitely meant to be for us to come
- 16:55Speaker 1: together because it definitely made me a stronger person to
- 16:59Speaker 1: be out of the country. We've gone for over 20 days.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Yeah. And airplanes. I think it was like 20, 24,
- 17:08Speaker 3: 25 flights.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yes.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I was tallying them up. I can't remember where I
- 17:12Speaker 1: stopped at. I stopped at like 20 somewhere.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 1: We did over 20 flights.
- 17:15Speaker 3: We did something like 96 hours in the air. I
- 17:18Speaker 3: remember like tallying it out too as well. I was like, dude,
- 17:20Speaker 3: this is nuts. And I was like, everyone's like, oh,
- 17:21Speaker 3: the military. I was like, yeah, military gigs are cool.
- 17:23Speaker 3: But it's like, military don't fuck around. They don't let
- 17:25Speaker 3: you hang out. They're like, you here to work. That's it.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Don't leave this base.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:31Speaker 1: What's the name was fun? Spain was really fun.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Spain was fun.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Spain and Greece were my favorite.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I can't say which one I liked the best.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 1: But Spain was, Spain, remember the lady in Greece?
- 17:44Speaker 3: They were super nice. They took us to a beach. Oh,
- 17:46Speaker 3: my God. They took us to a nice beach.
- 17:47Speaker 1: To that nice walk, to that restaurant.
- 17:50Speaker 3: And they kept ordering and ordering. And I was like, yo.
- 17:53Speaker 3: And my old brain was like, hey, man, who the
- 17:55Speaker 3: fuck paying for.
- 17:57Speaker 1: All this?
- 17:58Speaker 3: I got $ 10. What's the transfer rate over here?
- 18:01Speaker 1: I got a hot 10, OK?
- 18:03Speaker 3: We'll be working. Is the dollar that strong right now?
- 18:06Speaker 1: That restaurant on the beach was beautiful.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, the restaurant on the beach was beautiful. And then
- 18:10Speaker 3: when the lady took us, too, to, like, on the.
- 18:13Speaker 1: When we went walking off the coast or whatever.
- 18:16Speaker 3: It was really fun. It was a really cool trip.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Really nice and chill, though. It was chill, even though
- 18:20Speaker 3: we did have to hustle and bustle and do the things.
- 18:23Speaker 3: But it was, like, everyone knew their part. Everyone, you know.
- 18:25Speaker 1: You got to go to Pompeii.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Got to go to Pompeii. Yeah, really quick. Yeah, that
- 18:28Speaker 3: was cool. And then, yeah, no, no, no. I really
- 18:31Speaker 3: enjoyed it. And, like, I was... And that was funny, too, because, like,
- 18:36Speaker 3: I wanted to go to... What was another place, too,
- 18:40Speaker 3: I wanted to go while we were there? It was
- 18:41Speaker 3: somewhere else, but then we couldn't.
- 18:42Speaker 1: We were supposed to do something else, but.
- 18:46Speaker 3: It was hella shit. It was a lot. That trip
- 18:48Speaker 3: was a lot. But no, and then we came back,
- 18:51Speaker 3: and then, yeah, the Sacramento thing. Because you were supposed
- 18:54Speaker 3: to come to Vegas. Yes.
- 18:56Speaker 2: You're going to come out to Vegas.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm coming.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Yeah, because I was like.
- 18:59Speaker 1: This would be the perfect time. Like June, July, August
- 19:01Speaker 1: is great for me.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I know. I was telling my wife. I was like,
- 19:02Speaker 3: she said she was going to cook for us.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I want to cook for you guys.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, because you.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm a good ass.
- 19:06Speaker 3: You say you throw down. Yes.
- 19:07Speaker 1: How long are you going to be here?
- 19:09Speaker 3: I'll be here until Sunday. Okay. I think Sunday or
- 19:13Speaker 3: maybe even Monday. I'm not too sure yet. I have
- 19:15Speaker 3: to check the flights.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Where are you staying at?
- 19:17Speaker 3: I'm staying over at the Cambria.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I love that hotel. That's one of my favorite hotels.
- 19:21Speaker 3: It's like right here. It's super close.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I love that. I just like that hotel. When I
- 19:25Speaker 1: go in other cities, if I can, I'll stay there.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It's like a cute little.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Little boutique. I like these Cambria ones because they have
- 19:32Speaker 3: a couple of them.
- 19:33Speaker 1: You know my favorite part? They have the Bluetooth mirror.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Do they have the Bluetooth mirror in that one where
- 19:37Speaker 1: you can like Sync your phone to it.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Yeah, sync your phone in, then you can listen to it.
- 19:40Speaker 1: And play your music while you're in bed. Yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 3: That was my favorite thing. I threw YouTube on it,
- 19:44Speaker 3: and I was like, yeah. I was like, oh, this
- 19:45Speaker 3: is cool. I like this. This is nice.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna get you some dinner um you said
- 19:48Speaker 1: you leave sunday.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah i leave sunday yeah and i'm usually done with
- 19:52Speaker 3: this stuff around four what you got so yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I'll bring you dinner to your hotel so you can
- 19:56Speaker 1: have some brownie food i would love that is it.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Something that you like a lot only thing i don't
- 20:01Speaker 3: eat is is seafood Everything, yeah, yeah, that's the only
- 20:04Speaker 3: thing I don't, like, my dad told me a lie
- 20:06Speaker 3: when I was a kid, and I believed it.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Our parents lied to us a lot.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so, like.
- 20:12Speaker 1: What was your dad's lie?
- 20:13Speaker 3: Well, so I was eating a fish stick once, and
- 20:15Speaker 3: he was like, oh, you like that? And I go, yeah, yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 3: it's good. And he was like, oh, you think it's good?
- 20:20Speaker 3: And I go, yeah. He goes, you like fish? You
- 20:23Speaker 3: know where they live at, right? And I go, yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 3: they live in the water. He goes, well, where do
- 20:26Speaker 3: you go to the bathroom at? And I go, in
- 20:27Speaker 3: the toilet. He goes, what's in there?
- 20:29Speaker 1: And I go, water.
- 20:29Speaker 3: And he goes, like, that's what they live in? That's
- 20:31Speaker 3: what they live in? And as soon as he said that,
- 20:34Speaker 3: I was like, he's right. This is disgusting. And I
- 20:37Speaker 3: never touched seafood again. I think I was about six
- 20:39Speaker 3: or seven years old and I never, and my mom
- 20:41Speaker 3: was hella mad at him. She was like, cause my
- 20:43Speaker 3: mom likes seafood, but he, my dad doesn't. So now
- 20:45Speaker 3: I don't. And I don't, I don't fuck with it.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I remember they tried to get me to eat sushi
- 20:49Speaker 3: and I was like, first off, I don't eat cooked food.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I don't want it raw.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yeah. They're like, oh, it's so good though.
- 20:56Speaker 1: My mother told me if I swallowed bubble gum, that
- 20:58Speaker 1: it would glue my butthole together.
- 21:01Speaker 3: One time I did that, I was like, oh, no.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I didn't do it on purpose. Oh, that's so funny. Yeah, yeah. Damn,
- 21:08Speaker 3: my parents just said if I swallowed the gum, it
- 21:10Speaker 3: would stay on my heart for like three, five years.
- 21:12Speaker 1: That's just as bad, too.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Yeah. They're like, if you swallow too much gum, you're
- 21:16Speaker 3: going to die. Yours is like, you're going to get constipated.
- 21:18Speaker 3: You're going to.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Glue your butthole together. I didn't eat pancakes for.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Years, though. Really? Why? So.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Two reasons why. I didn't grow up in the beginning.
- 21:29Speaker 1: We didn't have a lot of money. And so you
- 21:31Speaker 1: remember the biscuit box?
- 21:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:34Speaker 1: So you can make pancakes out.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Of biscuits back in the day.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So we followed the recipe. We ended up making 30 pancakes.
- 21:40Speaker 1: And we got done. We had these thick ass pancakes.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And no honey or no syrup. And my dad made...
- 21:47Speaker 1: And it was just cold ass Thick-ass pancakes. And my
- 21:50Speaker 1: dad was like, you don't eat the pancakes. Y'all maybe
- 21:52Speaker 1: going to eat them. Right.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
- 21:53Speaker 1: That's one. And then Denny's when we were little, right?
- 21:57Speaker 1: I couldn't wait to go to Denny's because they put
- 21:59Speaker 1: ice cream on the pancakes.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 22:01Speaker 1: So I thought.
- 22:02Speaker 3: That is nice.
- 22:03Speaker 1: That was butter. And I was like, I haven't eaten pancakes.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It took me until maybe like three years ago to
- 22:10Speaker 1: eat a pancake.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:11Speaker 1: By the time I was seven.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a big fan of pancakes, too. Like,
- 22:14Speaker 3: because there's either, like, waffles, French toast, or pancakes. I'm
- 22:17Speaker 3: always either a French toast person first or waffle.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I'll French toast before anything.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:22Speaker 1: But, yeah, I just ate a pancake. I was somewhere,
- 22:25Speaker 1: and one of my kids ordered a chocolate chip pancake,
- 22:27Speaker 1: and I tried it, and I.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Thought it was not bad. You just reminded me of
- 22:30Speaker 3: something too special about French toast. Like, I want to
- 22:32Speaker 3: try it. I've seen it on TikTok, and I want
- 22:34Speaker 3: to see if it works. But they were like, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 3: you like, you know, you scramble the egg, or you
- 22:38Speaker 3: put your cinnamon in it, or your vanilla, or your milk.
- 22:40Speaker 3: And this lady was like, you know what you should
- 22:43Speaker 3: do is just get Dreyer's ice cream.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I saw that.
- 22:46Speaker 3: You seen that, right? They dipped it in the ice cream?
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah, they let it melt.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and I was like, they were like, it has
- 22:50Speaker 3: everything in there. It has the cream, it has the butter.
- 22:52Speaker 1: That's some fat shit.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's some fat shit.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm going to dip my bread in ice cream.
- 22:56Speaker 3: And I'll, yeah, have my French toast. I was like,
- 22:58Speaker 3: I want to try this. This is one of those, like, babe,
- 23:00Speaker 3: let's go to the store right now. Right. Go get that.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So, yeah, TikTok, I have you doing some shit.
- 23:06Speaker 3: That's some high food shit.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah, have you, what did I say? They have you...
- 23:12Speaker 1: making a roux for everything. Like, a roux for greens. Like,
- 23:15Speaker 1: they're greens. I don't need a roux for greens.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't even know what a roux was until TikTok.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I was like, oh, that's what that's called? I didn't
- 23:21Speaker 3: even know that.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It's gravy. It's the best gravy base.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't know. But I'd seen it before and, like,
- 23:26Speaker 3: I've done it before. I didn't know that's what it
- 23:28Speaker 3: was called. I just listened to whatever my mom said
- 23:30Speaker 3: or whatever. They're saying, you got to do this first
- 23:32Speaker 3: and then do this and then do that. So it
- 23:33Speaker 3: was all just steps. I didn't know it had a
- 23:35Speaker 3: name for it. I'm like, oh, okay. But, yeah, they
- 23:37Speaker 3: were trying to put that on everything. Oh, that's right. Okay,
- 23:40Speaker 3: so we have... So we have this one section in
- 23:44Speaker 3: the podcast called Good to Know.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Because this is right here. This is called Get to Know.
- 23:49Speaker 3: And then the other one is Good to Know. So
- 23:51Speaker 3: we got ten trivia questions. Are you down for some trivia?

- 24:35Speaker 3: yeah uh okay so first trivia question that we have
- 24:39Speaker 3: for you is I don't know where uh it goes
- 24:43Speaker 3: Which travels faster, sound or light?
- 24:56Speaker 1: Light.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Boom, light. You are correct. Boom. All right, one. You
- 25:00Speaker 3: got one. What year did MTV launch?
- 25:05Speaker 1: I want to say 1982.
- 25:08Speaker 3: 1982?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Oh, close.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Three? No. One? Yes, 81.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's more.
- 25:15Speaker 3: They shut it down now. They just ended it. There's
- 25:18Speaker 3: no more MTV.
- 25:21Speaker 1: What? Not like music MTV.
- 25:23Speaker 3: No, MTV's gone. There's no such thing as MTV anymore.
- 25:27Speaker 1: It shaped my life.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yeah, right? What was your favorite show on MTV?
- 25:33Speaker 1: I would say the one I was on, Cart in
- 25:35Speaker 1: the Act. But, you know, real world.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Real World?
- 25:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I grew up in the 90s. That first season,
- 25:42Speaker 1: Real World.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Did you... Which.
- 25:46Speaker 1: It was Real World New York.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Wait, it says not entirely because the network is permanently
- 25:50Speaker 3: shut down and dedicated to music-only channels. What? It's completely
- 25:56Speaker 3: shut down.
- 25:56Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 25:57Speaker 3: I was going to say, what was your season?
- 26:01Speaker 1: It was season one.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Season one? Oh, the first season.
- 26:03Speaker 1: That was the one with Heather... I believe it was.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Oh, New York, right? Yeah. And Eric.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Heather B., Eric. David, he was a comedian.
- 26:14Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 26:14Speaker 1: That was the second one because he was on there
- 26:16Speaker 1: with Tammy.
- 26:16Speaker 3: He was at LA.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that was LA. But yeah, it was Heather, Eric.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Eric was a black guy with a fade, right? Was
- 26:26Speaker 1: that one Eric?
- 26:28Speaker 3: No, Eric was a white dude.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Who was the black guy that ended up being a
- 26:31Speaker 1: journalist and stuff like that?
- 26:33Speaker 3: Oh, and they were always getting an argument. Him and
- 26:36Speaker 3: the white girl. I can't remember what his name was.
- 26:38Speaker 3: But yeah, he became an actor. Fuck, what was his name?
- 26:43Speaker 3: I totally forgot.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It's not Kevin.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Paramount has a reunion show. It had a whole reunion
- 26:50Speaker 3: season where they went back to a house and they
- 26:52Speaker 3: lived together for another six weeks. And it was interesting.
- 26:57Speaker 3: They only did New York and... New Orleans and L.A.
- 27:03Speaker 3: They only did three seasons where they brought everyone back
- 27:05Speaker 3: 20 years later, 30 years later, and they all lived
- 27:08Speaker 3: in the house. It was interesting. It was crazy.
- 27:10Speaker 1: That just shaped our childhood.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah. My biggest guilty pleasure, though, was the challenge. I
- 27:16Speaker 3: like when Rose was versus the real world. Oh, that's
- 27:19Speaker 3: the best. I don't know. That's my guilty pleasure. I
- 27:21Speaker 3: was like, Hillary, the owner of Mic Drop, she's really
- 27:24Speaker 3: big into it, too.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. I had said it one time. She was like, wait,
- 27:27Speaker 3: hold on. How do you know that? And I'm like, oh,
- 27:30Speaker 3: it's CT.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I watch a lot of Jersey Shore with my kids.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Oh, okay. The Jersey Shore. Yeah. I like the programming. Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 3: And now it's gone completely. That sucks. But, okay, so
- 27:43Speaker 3: you got, okay.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I got one.
- 27:45Speaker 3: We got one. Okay. And there's question three. What Movie
- 27:49Speaker 3: is the quote you had me at hello from.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Oh, shut up. That's an old movie. And I like
- 27:57Speaker 1: old movies. You had me at hello. I was going
- 28:02Speaker 1: to say Sleeps in Seattle, but no. It's older. It's
- 28:05Speaker 1: much older than that.
- 28:06Speaker 3: It's not too much. Actually, no, it's newer. It's newer
- 28:09Speaker 3: than that.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 28:10Speaker 3: I'll give you a hint. Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise.
- 28:18Speaker 1: It's not Forrest Gump. You said Tom Cruise. I have
- 28:22Speaker 1: no clue.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Jerry Maguire.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah, with Renee Zellweger.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I said Tom Hanks.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Shit. I know.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I was about to correct you.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I was like, I think she's singing Tom Hanks. One
- 28:36Speaker 3: of them Tom.
- 28:37Speaker 1: One of the white Toms. All right, here we go.
- 28:40Speaker 3: We're going to do a more entertainment-based. Actor Nicolas Cage
- 28:45Speaker 3: is the nephew to what famous director?
- 28:49Speaker 1: This is stupid. Who came up with these questions?
- 28:53Speaker 3: This one handsome gentleman that I met.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Famous director. So famous director, I would say Spielberg.
- 29:07Speaker 3: No.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Francis Ford Coppola.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Who the fuck is that?
- 29:10Speaker 3: He directed all the Godfathers.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Francis Ford Coppola. Don't nobody know?
- 29:13Speaker 2: I know the movie now.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I'm a kid. I don't know who directed the shit.
- 29:18Speaker 3: She said, I'm not paying attention to the best grip.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I'm not reading the credits.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Yeah. All right, so, okay, question five. It says, how
- 29:27Speaker 3: many ghosts show up in a Christmas carol?
- 29:30Speaker 1: Three.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Is it three?
- 29:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Present, future, past.
- 29:36Speaker 3: It's four.
- 29:37Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Yeah, because... Ichabod Crane comes and talks to him and says,
- 29:42Speaker 3: you're going to be visited by three ghosts.
- 29:44Speaker 1: He comes first. Oh, that's some bullshit. You know what?
- 29:48Speaker 2: Fuck these questions.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I only know this because of Christmas Carol on the
- 29:54Speaker 3: Disney one where it's Goofy. Goofy comes in. Mickey is
- 30:00Speaker 3: Tiny Timbers. I'm sure one of the fucking things. But yeah. Okay.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Here's a TV question. It says, what popular 90s TV
- 30:07Speaker 3: series did the actor Calista Flockhart star.
- 30:12Speaker 1: In? I know the name. Calista Flockhart. I know the name.
- 30:17Speaker 3: She did this TV show.
- 30:18Speaker 1: It's not Blossom.
- 30:19Speaker 3: No, no.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Okay. Hold on.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Calista.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I know her name. I just can't picture her face.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Calista Flockhart in the 90s. I know it's a white woman.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I know she's white. In the 90s. Calista Flockhart. Damn it.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Is it Rosemill Place or 90210?
- 30:36Speaker 2: Rosemill Place. Mel Rosemill. No, fuck it.
- 30:45Speaker 3: You got the question. I don't know, but you got
- 30:47Speaker 3: the point.
- 30:48Speaker 2: What is it?
- 30:50Speaker 3: It's Ally McBeal. Do you remember that show? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 2: It was on Fox.
- 30:54Speaker 3: It was on for a long time. She only did
- 30:55Speaker 3: that show.
- 30:55Speaker 1: She was an attorney.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:57Speaker 3: She was an attorney. Robert Downey Jr. was on the show,
- 31:01Speaker 3: and then he relapsed. They had to fire him. That
- 31:03Speaker 3: was where he was in his shit. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:05Speaker 1: And that's all she did, huh?
- 31:06Speaker 3: That's all she did. Married Harrison Ford, and that's it.
- 31:08Speaker 3: She was like, I'm good. I'm trying to live that life.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I'm jealous a little bit.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't know if I would.
- 31:12Speaker 3: What? Just fucking marry a.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Yeah, if I hit the lottery and had everything I
- 31:17Speaker 1: needed or married somebody rich or... didn't have to do comedy,
- 31:21Speaker 1: didn't have to work for a living. I would still
- 31:24Speaker 1: do comedy.
- 31:25Speaker 3: I'd have to do comedy because I'd have to pretend
- 31:27Speaker 3: I still didn't hit the lottery because I'm not trying
- 31:29Speaker 3: to let no motherfucker know. I was like, no, I'm
- 31:33Speaker 3: still the same motherfucker.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Just grinding it out. Starving artist.
- 31:37Speaker 3: But why are you driving an Ashton Martin to the
- 31:40Speaker 3: open mic?
- 31:41Speaker 1: It's the club. Let me rent it.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:43Speaker 1: They want me to pull up in it.
- 31:45Speaker 3: You play with everything with a black card. Yeah. All right,
- 31:49Speaker 3: so question seven. What TV series launched Bruce Willis' career?
- 31:54Speaker 3: This is an old one. It was him and Sybil Shepard.
- 31:57Speaker 3: They were on a TV show way back in the day.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Way back in the day. Bruce Willis.
- 32:05Speaker 1: It's in the 80s.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:07Speaker 1: It's in the 80s. I can see him.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I wonder if Miami Vice came on before or after it.
- 32:13Speaker 1: It was... He wasn't on the A-team.
- 32:24Speaker 3: No, no, no. Moonlighting. Do you remember that or no? No.
- 32:30Speaker 1: You don't remember that shit.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I was a little, little kid, and they would watch it.
- 32:34Speaker 3: What is that name? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I'll be 45.
- 32:36Speaker 3: I'm 44. I just turned 44. Okay, yeah. You don't
- 32:39Speaker 3: remember that shit.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I don't remember moonlighting.
- 32:41Speaker 3: All right, number eight. It says, what is the name
- 32:47Speaker 3: of Sabrina's cat in The Teenage Witch?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Oh, that's, I know the cat name.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:57Speaker 2: I know this show because.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I watched it. It's either Salem.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Got it. Okay, yeah. Yes.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I was going to say Winston or Salem.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of, yeah, it's one of, I think
- 33:07Speaker 3: Winston was the one in Hocus Pocus.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I don't know. I can't remember, but that sounds like that.
- 33:12Speaker 3: All right, question number nine. It says, what species is Nemo?
- 33:22Speaker 3: In Finding Nemo, what species is a fish?
- 33:24Speaker 1: Oh, what species is a fish?
- 33:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:27Speaker 1: He is a.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I fucking botched that question.
- 33:31Speaker 1: He's a... I want to say clownfish.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Boom. Clownfish. You got it. All right. So you have one, two... Two, three.
- 33:43Speaker 3: You have three right so far. You can wager your
- 33:46Speaker 3: points for the last one. That's Final Jeopardy. Let's do it. Okay.
- 33:49Speaker 3: You want to do all three? Okay. Okay. So what
- 33:51Speaker 3: animal's nickname is sea cow?
- 33:54Speaker 1: Sea cattle.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Yeah, a sea cow, yeah.
- 33:56Speaker 1: A sea cow.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 1: A sea cow.
- 34:03Speaker 3: It's so funny because I love how serious you're taking
- 34:05Speaker 3: this question because you're like, yo, I want to get one.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I was going to say a whale, but a sea cow.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I'm going to roll with it.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Okay, it's a manatee. I don't even know.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I don't know what a manatee is. It's a sea cow?
- 34:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I just was like, when I looked that up, I
- 34:25Speaker 3: looked for a trivia question about animals, and I was like, okay,
- 34:27Speaker 3: fuck it, copy-paste.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I bet you my granddaughter, my five-year-old granddaughter could have
- 34:32Speaker 1: told you.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Oh, really? She's into animals?
- 34:34Speaker 1: She knows every single animal, every species. She knows every animal. Oh, Granny,
- 34:40Speaker 1: that's such and such. I had to Google some shit.
- 34:44Speaker 3: You're like, Armadillo?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, she knows every animal. When she comes here next week,
- 34:49Speaker 1: I'm going to take her to the zoo.
- 34:50Speaker 3: That's her thing. Her thing is animals. That's cool. I
- 34:53Speaker 3: don't know if I was big, big in animals. What
- 34:56Speaker 3: is your favorite animal?
- 34:58Speaker 1: I'm not a big animal person. I just, past few years,
- 35:01Speaker 1: got a dog that I'm in love with.
- 35:03Speaker 3: What kind of dog did you get?
- 35:04Speaker 1: A Yorkie.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Carl. Carl is bad as hell. He lives up to
- 35:09Speaker 1: the Yorkie name. He is just... I take him to
- 35:12Speaker 1: the groomer. I go get him. He's uncut. He's a
- 35:17Speaker 1: little rambunctious. He wouldn't let us. So I had to
- 35:21Speaker 1: give him doggy edibles.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Hilarious.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I was going to say, you named him a person name, too.
- 35:27Speaker 3: His name is Carl. Carl got a job.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Yeah. And the whole neighborhood knows Carl. Everybody knows Carl.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Carl out again. He runs the street and then shows
- 35:38Speaker 1: back up like, hey.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Carl.
- 35:40Speaker 1: If he gets an out, you know, and, like, before
- 35:43Speaker 1: it would stress me out. Like, oh, my God, my dog.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I'll look for him for, like, three minutes. And I'll
- 35:48Speaker 1: just sit on the porch. Or sit in the house.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And he's sitting outside just like, whoop. What took you
- 35:53Speaker 1: so long to find me? I've been sitting out here
- 35:54Speaker 1: waiting on you. You know, like, I don't know. It's
- 35:57Speaker 1: somebody in the next street, next block, a chick he
- 35:59Speaker 1: wants over there, some type of dog.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:01Speaker 1: That he goes after. And whenever he can get loose,
- 36:03Speaker 1: he does.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I love dogs. I'm a big dog person. So it's like,
- 36:08Speaker 3: I like it. They all got their personalities. And when
- 36:09Speaker 3: you told me his name's Carl, I was like, Carl
- 36:11Speaker 3: clips coupons.
- 36:12Speaker 1: He does. I named that because it reminds me of
- 36:14Speaker 1: an old white man at a car to cop.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Carl saved money. Oh, shit. So thank you for coming on, though.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 36:20Speaker 3: I just looked at it and I was like, oh, shit,
- 36:22Speaker 3: I got to get you out of here. But thank
- 36:24Speaker 3: you so much for coming and doing the podcast. Are
- 36:28Speaker 3: you going to be here any time soon? Where are
- 36:29Speaker 3: you going to be at next?
- 36:31Speaker 1: I'm on the road.
- 36:32Speaker 3: You're on the road, okay.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Yes, yes. I don't have anything coming in Detroit until
- 36:35Speaker 1: the fall.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:36Speaker 1: But everything else is the East Coast. I'll be in Idyllwild, Michigan,
- 36:42Speaker 1: doing the show there June 20th. And then I go
- 36:46Speaker 1: to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I'm taking a little few-day break for
- 36:49Speaker 1: my birthday, July 1st. Woo-woo.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And then I go to, well, I'm there for a
- 36:54Speaker 1: birthday trip, but during Essence Fest in New Orleans, they have,
- 36:59Speaker 1: it's called Black Girl Giggle Comedy Festival at the same time.
- 37:03Speaker 1: So I'm doing a show there.
- 37:04Speaker 3: I used to know a girl that used to, out
- 37:07Speaker 3: of New Orleans, Genevieve Joy?
- 37:09Speaker 1: That's who I'm working with.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
- 37:11Speaker 1: That's who runs the festival.
- 37:12Speaker 3: She's awesome.
- 37:13Speaker 1: That's who runs the festival, yes. So I'll be working
- 37:16Speaker 1: with her at that time, and then I'll go out
- 37:20Speaker 1: to New York. I'm going to see Jay-Z in New York.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 37:24Speaker 1: And I'm staying out there on the East Coast and
- 37:26Speaker 1: just do some little, stay out there about two or
- 37:28Speaker 1: three weeks and do some networking and work at some
- 37:30Speaker 1: clubs out there.
- 37:31Speaker 3: All right, well, thanks again.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Thank you.
