- 0:10Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. I also just always hated Peyton Manning's looks
- 0:16Speaker 1: always been it's just the perfect looking color back. Yeah,
- 0:20Speaker 1: nood alarm penis head Yeah, pH Yes, that sounds really
- 0:25Speaker 1: high because because it's wrong, he's the embodiment of what
- 0:28Speaker 1: I make fun out. Yeah. I never ever we've been
- 0:30Speaker 1: on the site because it would make my eyes believe.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I just wish that I could be as positive and white?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Is that our house or our house? Our house? Eric?
- 0:40Speaker 1: You you know what a dictionary? You just look it up? Looster,
- 0:43Speaker 1: don't take my I live in Gloucester, Eric, don't take
- 0:47Speaker 1: my word for Loochester. Eric, how many syllables does oh?
- 0:50Speaker 1: You are have? Look it up? I don't have a
- 0:52Speaker 1: dictionary in front of it. You don't I want to
- 0:53Speaker 1: print it out. We have this thing called the internet.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Or any of you playing wordle? I played? Do you
- 0:57Speaker 1: play right? Why not? He gets so upset? Well, the
- 1:01Speaker 1: way you answered him, Now what I'm going to explain
- 1:04Speaker 1: all the rules. If you're interested, go find out our
- 1:06Speaker 1: It is not our I can't believe you're still arguing this. God,
- 1:11Speaker 1: this is Patriot's Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan. All right, welcome
- 1:17Speaker 1: to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Gilette Stadium.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Fred Yeah, once again, Mike do so closet, bad guy
- 1:25Speaker 1: and all of our discugs just out of nowhere. You didn't,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I didn't pretty wanted to print that out going himself.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Don't break your own and as I sent him off here.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Just because he has a smile on his face when
- 1:36Speaker 1: he throws them rocking shots doesn't mean he's nice. Right, Yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 1: I mean all right, you mean so? Um, I guess
- 1:43Speaker 1: the big news and Patriots world is Matt Jones little
- 1:48Speaker 1: the Matt Jones passing camp in Tampa. Yeah, I see
- 1:51Speaker 1: in Tampa. I don't know. I don't like it. What
- 1:55Speaker 1: and what what are we ann about? I think we
- 1:59Speaker 1: should not focus so much on that. Why it was
- 2:04Speaker 1: on the internet. We didn't put it out he did, okay,
- 2:08Speaker 1: all right, you know they worked out. I mean I
- 2:10Speaker 1: thought it was good to see all those guys together.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And you know, at this point you didn't even have
- 2:14Speaker 1: a quarterback. So and then DeVante Parker, I guess made
- 2:16Speaker 1: his way down, so getting some work in. I think
- 2:19Speaker 1: it's good. And you know, somebody pointed it out today
- 2:21Speaker 1: and one of Paul shows that. You know, when you're
- 2:24Speaker 1: not the rookie, you have extra time and you can
- 2:27Speaker 1: do stuff like this. You're not like in a whirlwind.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So good stuff. I love it. And he's the starter.
- 2:33Speaker 1: He knows he's the starter. He should be running this
- 2:35Speaker 1: kind of thing. I love it. Yeah, Born, good energy
- 2:37Speaker 1: from Born as always. Yeah, he's always and and I
- 2:40Speaker 1: did think Jacobe Myers looked big. Paul pointed out Devantae
- 2:44Speaker 1: Parker's abs, but I thought Jacoby looked like he had added.
- 2:47Speaker 1: They all had the short off except mac wow. Oh
- 2:54Speaker 1: I fell on the pool. My shirt still on played
- 2:57Speaker 1: the role of middle school due. So that's good to see.
- 3:01Speaker 1: If you're a Patriots fan, you love it. You know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: anything every little thing helps. Paul and I took part
- 3:07Speaker 1: in the Patriots Hall of Fame UH nomination committee yesterday.
- 3:12Speaker 1: How many harumps were? There were several harumps, several they
- 3:15Speaker 1: carried over into this morning. Actually I didn't lead the
- 3:18Speaker 1: meeting in harumps, Fred did oh really there were several harrumps?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yea from you or from. We don't know who the
- 3:25Speaker 1: top three are yet. Though we do not know, we
- 3:28Speaker 1: do not so the way it works for anyone interested,
- 3:30Speaker 1: there's a committee of twenty and we put in our
- 3:33Speaker 1: we do our discussion, and we end up with three
- 3:37Speaker 1: top candidates who are then presented to the fans for vote.
- 3:40Speaker 1: We don't know. I know who I voted for. I
- 3:43Speaker 1: voted for Vrabel number one, um Welcer number two, when
- 3:47Speaker 1: Mankins number three and I had the same three just
- 3:50Speaker 1: slightly changed. I had Welcer, Vrabel Mankins right, But we
- 3:55Speaker 1: don't know what everybody else did, and we don't know
- 3:56Speaker 1: what the final tally is. That we'll get released pretty soon. Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I think that we're putting some production value to that
- 4:05Speaker 1: to get it on the site. So we have the
- 4:07Speaker 1: three finalists that will be out there. I mean, to me,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I thought there was I think there are a half
- 4:14Speaker 1: dozen or so. In my mind, really like pretty locked
- 4:19Speaker 1: solid Patriots Hall of Famers. But and this Stacy James,
- 4:25Speaker 1: the vice president of Media Relations, I thought made a
- 4:30Speaker 1: really interesting, well just really simple point. Come to vote
- 4:36Speaker 1: with the one guy that you think is the most deserving,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and if you don't, if he's not nominated. Obviously you
- 4:42Speaker 1: need to nominate, but just have that one guy in mind.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Listen to the room and then make your decision accordingly.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And to me, while there were a lot of deserving
- 4:52Speaker 1: Hall of Famers, I think there's one guy that's most deserving,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and that's why I picked Welca. Fred took Rabel. I
- 4:57Speaker 1: wouldn't argue with Fred. I think Rabel's been a final
- 5:00Speaker 1: five years in a row. Susan Lucci and and Fred
- 5:05Speaker 1: nominated Rabel at the meeting yesterday and basically did he
- 5:08Speaker 1: did a great job with the simplicity like he's been
- 5:12Speaker 1: five years in a row. There's nothing that's really changed
- 5:14Speaker 1: in the five years to his candidacy, right, Um, and
- 5:17Speaker 1: and I understand. Look listen, if like Bill Belichick and
- 5:19Speaker 1: Tom Brady suddenly became eligible, Rabel's not the top of
- 5:22Speaker 1: the list anymore. I get that. But um, you know,
- 5:26Speaker 1: Rabel is more than deserving to be a Patriot's Hall
- 5:28Speaker 1: of Famer. I don't know if he'll get in this year.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Welker to me, I mean the all time leading you
- 5:33Speaker 1: made a great history made. I make a lot of
- 5:36Speaker 1: great points. Usually make a great point, you know. Karen
- 5:41Speaker 1: Grigian from the Boston Herald actually nominated Welker, but I
- 5:45Speaker 1: supported her argument just by saying, and you know, all
- 5:48Speaker 1: these things we talk about, all these superlatives and what
- 5:51Speaker 1: they did. And Karen had made the point that the
- 5:53Speaker 1: O seven offense with Brady and that crew of receivers
- 5:57Speaker 1: really kind of laid the groundwork to what you see
- 6:00Speaker 1: now with passing games, which was a thousand percent true.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But on top of that, if you look at OH eight,
- 6:06Speaker 1: that was the year that Brady didn't play, the numbers
- 6:09Speaker 1: for Wes Welker and OH seven and O eight are
- 6:11Speaker 1: virtually identical with Matt Castle, right like, which tells you
- 6:15Speaker 1: he wasn't just a problem. Not saying he wasn't aided
- 6:17Speaker 1: by Tom Brady, that would be foolish. Tom Brady is
- 6:19Speaker 1: the guy. They're all aided by Tom Brady. But he
- 6:23Speaker 1: wasn't solely a product of Tom Brady. He did it.
- 6:26Speaker 1: He could get against anybody, and that was what carried over.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I just I feel bad with Welker because it always
- 6:34Speaker 1: comes back to Super Bowl forty six, and I just
- 6:36Speaker 1: feel people forget about how exciting and how fun and
- 6:39Speaker 1: how beloved he was before that moment, and a lot
- 6:42Speaker 1: of people only see him through that lens of that.
- 6:45Speaker 1: You know, one play which I mean to be to honest, like,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I think it was as much a little bit off
- 6:50Speaker 1: of a throw could have been thrown, a little better
- 6:51Speaker 1: could have been I think the ball should have been
- 6:54Speaker 1: cut and I think it should have been a better throw.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I think it was a bad throw. And it wasn't
- 6:58Speaker 1: a game like they had more chance. Is like, I
- 7:00Speaker 1: know that that would have been a great you know,
- 7:02Speaker 1: probably would have given them more points and maybe would
- 7:04Speaker 1: have put them ahead. But you know, it was no guarantee.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It wasn't like he dropped a wide open touchdown and
- 7:09Speaker 1: then they lost. After that, they both deserved equal uh
- 7:13Speaker 1: sheriff blame for that. Yeah, I mean, how about if
- 7:17Speaker 1: it was he had to do with three it was
- 7:19Speaker 1: just perfect. No, you're right, You're right. And I always,
- 7:23Speaker 1: you know, I always cite the Dallas Cowboys. One from
- 7:26Speaker 1: the seventies, Jackie Smith yea, the veteran tight end who
- 7:29Speaker 1: had a hawkestan in America, had a Hall of Fame
- 7:31Speaker 1: career with the Cardinals, finished up his career with Dallas.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Roger Staubach had him right in the chest in the
- 7:35Speaker 1: end zone. He dropped it he dropped and that the
- 7:37Speaker 1: famous thing that Eric just said. Put Jackie Smith. He
- 7:40Speaker 1: must be the sickest man in America, right, you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: did everybody just say, well, I can't put him in
- 7:45Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame, right, Yeah, No, he's a pro
- 7:47Speaker 1: football Hall of Famer because he had a great career. Right.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I think we got a little overshadowed by Moss, I
- 7:52Speaker 1: mean by oh seven in general. Um, I wonder and
- 7:56Speaker 1: Kronk eventually, but I do wonder, and I don't I
- 7:59Speaker 1: don't mean this is a slight on anybody. I just
- 8:01Speaker 1: wonder how how much Moss and Welker were connected, and
- 8:03Speaker 1: how much of that success kind of went hand in
- 8:06Speaker 1: hand a little bit, you know, not to take anything
- 8:07Speaker 1: away from him. I just think it absolutely possible, you know,
- 8:10Speaker 1: And I think, if I'm going to be fair, I
- 8:14Speaker 1: was telling this to Mike because Mike wasn't here, you know,
- 8:16Speaker 1: when we were you know, and I often said that
- 8:20Speaker 1: Moss creates a lot of space for Welker, and I
- 8:22Speaker 1: think that's absolutely true. But look what Welker did with it, right,
- 8:26Speaker 1: you know, there's a lot of guys that benefit from
- 8:29Speaker 1: having a great I mean, don't tell me, Edelman didn't
- 8:31Speaker 1: benefit from Gronk right, you know, you know, going down
- 8:35Speaker 1: the seam all that time. But these guys were great, Like,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I don't think anybody would argue that Edelman is going
- 8:39Speaker 1: to be, you know, going right into the Patriots Hall
- 8:42Speaker 1: of Fame. Absolutely, and no should they? Yeah, the other
- 8:45Speaker 1: the other is the same. Yeah. The other point I
- 8:47Speaker 1: may this morning was just O nine. I mean, the
- 8:49Speaker 1: team when he got hurt in that finale against Houston,
- 8:51Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, they kind of folded. I mean they
- 8:53Speaker 1: I just I think it spoke to how much he
- 8:55Speaker 1: meant to that team. And I've just never seen a
- 8:57Speaker 1: Patriots player go from so beloved to everything kind of
- 9:02Speaker 1: changed with that with that one play, and then maybe
- 9:04Speaker 1: kind of maybe got a little reinforced that he went
- 9:06Speaker 1: to Denver. And I think it was the franchise thing too,
- 9:08Speaker 1: when you know, the Patriots aside to franchise him because
- 9:11Speaker 1: they couldn't work out a deal, and then he signed
- 9:13Speaker 1: it and they were like, oh, whoa, that that hurts
- 9:17Speaker 1: the salary cap. Here we go again, huh. And I
- 9:21Speaker 1: think that people got upset about that. I don't. I
- 9:23Speaker 1: think the team was caught a little bit off guard.
- 9:25Speaker 1: With that, and I think that led to some bad
- 9:27Speaker 1: blood and I think it's interesting. But that's fans like
- 9:30Speaker 1: and I understand, like that's part of being a fan.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I say it all the time. I would think, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: we'll see what the you know, because we should find
- 9:37Speaker 1: that out before the end of the week, right, I
- 9:39Speaker 1: don't know, Probably we'll see what the voting was. But
- 9:44Speaker 1: I was surprised to hear other people in the meeting
- 9:46Speaker 1: and we're not you know, Fred and I are not
- 9:48Speaker 1: allowed to tell you what other people said, and I
- 9:52Speaker 1: don't know what other people voted, so I'm not hiding that.
- 9:55Speaker 1: But I was surprised that there was as much talk
- 9:59Speaker 1: about the guys as there was. Well, I kind of,
- 10:01Speaker 1: like I said, I kind of went in thinking Welker
- 10:03Speaker 1: is head and shoulders here. I didn't. I didn't think
- 10:06Speaker 1: it was a very difficult choice. My my tough choices
- 10:09Speaker 1: were two, three, four, five, and six, and it was
- 10:13Speaker 1: what Fred's you know, it's Rabel Mankins will fork again.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I think all of fame in. Bill Parcels has been
- 10:20Speaker 1: a finalist several times. Obviously he's worthy, and Lawyer Malloy
- 10:24Speaker 1: is another guy I think is you know now, I
- 10:27Speaker 1: think a distant sixth in this group of those of
- 10:29Speaker 1: those other five. But Brian Morey, you know, and I'll
- 10:32Speaker 1: say Brian Moorey because he's one of us. Yeah, so
- 10:35Speaker 1: I feel like I can talk to him. Did a
- 10:36Speaker 1: great job of comparing and contrasting Um Lawyer malloy and
- 10:40Speaker 1: Rodney Harrison. Lawyer Molloy's numbers across the board are better,
- 10:44Speaker 1: with the exception of postseason interceptions. Yeah, you know, so
- 10:48Speaker 1: there's a guy, Um, he's not He's not going in
- 10:52Speaker 1: anytime soon, Lawyer Milloy. No, it would make me happy
- 10:56Speaker 1: to see Welker going. I feel like that would that
- 10:58Speaker 1: would just bring it back to a guy that you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: was was one of those team defining players of that
- 11:04Speaker 1: of that of that little stretch right there that they had.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It was Oh no, just commenting on the full screen
- 11:12Speaker 1: that they have up on NBC Sports posts and they're
- 11:14Speaker 1: missing a draft pick. Draft pick, Yeah, the fifth round
- 11:17Speaker 1: that they just got from Miami. Come on better, come
- 11:20Speaker 1: on wow. Yeah, So a flagship. You know, it's it's
- 11:24Speaker 1: always interesting five, you know, I think to be in
- 11:29Speaker 1: that room. I think though we could cut it probably
- 11:31Speaker 1: by half an hour if people didn't pontificate the way
- 11:35Speaker 1: they do about guys that we've talked about fifteen times.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Could we talk about the case for Vrabel, because I'm
- 11:41Speaker 1: all in for Vrabel, but I just wonder how you
- 11:43Speaker 1: how you make the case because I don't I mean,
- 11:44Speaker 1: so touchdowns in the series, I mean those kind of
- 11:46Speaker 1: things specific not My criteria is how they were as
- 11:51Speaker 1: a player, obviously, how how good they were, but also
- 11:54Speaker 1: their contribution to the team's success. And I think Vrabel
- 11:58Speaker 1: epitomizes that. You know, he he came in, he played
- 12:01Speaker 1: like four positions, including middle linebacker, which he was, but
- 12:05Speaker 1: he just did it, you know, um and played all
- 12:09Speaker 1: of them well, had great numbers, made key plays in
- 12:12Speaker 1: key games, has like ten catches and every one of
- 12:15Speaker 1: them is a touchdown. I mean, so it's not a
- 12:18Speaker 1: gimmick anymore, you know, Like you know, so like I
- 12:21Speaker 1: just think that everything they asked him to do he
- 12:24Speaker 1: did at a really high level, you know. And you know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: for that reason, I nominated Mike Rabel all time, all
- 12:33Speaker 1: time sense of humor too right, every but everything Fred said,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I mean, a highly productive guy in terms of tackles,
- 12:39Speaker 1: edge guy could get after the passer. They had trouble,
- 12:43Speaker 1: you know, stopping the run in oh five, you know,
- 12:45Speaker 1: and injury with with Teddy Bruski not playing, and you know,
- 12:49Speaker 1: selflessly moved to the inside a position that really wasn't
- 12:54Speaker 1: his forte and was excellent and helped and sort of
- 12:58Speaker 1: stabilize things in terms of Runde defense in that oh
- 13:00Speaker 1: five season. The tight end thing, I mean, he was
- 13:03Speaker 1: a tight end, you know, like Fred's right that that
- 13:06Speaker 1: wasn't to get You should have used that as your
- 13:08Speaker 1: argument back in the Lander and Roberts days. He wasn't.
- 13:11Speaker 1: He wasn't playing. He wasn't playing as like an extra tackle.
- 13:16Speaker 1: It wasn't like you know, some three hundred and fifty
- 13:19Speaker 1: pound tackle who's out there, and that you slipped Nate
- 13:21Speaker 1: Solder out that's a trick. He was playing tight end
- 13:24Speaker 1: as well as your tight ends were, right, like, yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 1: he's a special player and really really productive player for
- 13:30Speaker 1: whatever height. Yeah, and his play contributed to their success,
- 13:36Speaker 1: no doubt. You know, I think the big wasn't just
- 13:38Speaker 1: another big plays in the Super Bowl, the touchdowns, but
- 13:40Speaker 1: the sacks, I mean did he have the I mean
- 13:43Speaker 1: he had a big one against Kurt Warner. I remember
- 13:46Speaker 1: the hit, right Yeah, it was Tylaw credited and he
- 13:51Speaker 1: had a he had a strip sack in Carolina against
- 13:54Speaker 1: Carolina again in that Super Bowl. Yeah, and it'd be
- 13:56Speaker 1: cool to see Vay. We'll get it, just like guys
- 13:58Speaker 1: like Welker. I'm all on, but you know, receivers get
- 14:01Speaker 1: a lot of attention and accolades and all that. You know,
- 14:03Speaker 1: for a guy who's a former outside linebacker, not like
- 14:06Speaker 1: an all time sacker, but just a great football player.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Part of it would be cool to see him going,
- 14:12Speaker 1: although you'd have to probably schedule in the off season
- 14:14Speaker 1: to get him here, I would imagine, you know, yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 1: unless they like play Tennessee. And I'm waiting next year
- 14:18Speaker 1: for someone to nominate Rob Nikovic. You know, there was upset. Yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 1: Paul can't say anything right now. You know, there's just
- 14:30Speaker 1: so many guys that are just solid players, solid players
- 14:35Speaker 1: like don't need to have like superlative accolades attached to
- 14:39Speaker 1: their names because they played for the Patriots, right, And like,
- 14:43Speaker 1: there's there's a lot of guys that are deserving already
- 14:45Speaker 1: that aren't you. Yeah, a lot of luskies. What is
- 14:50Speaker 1: some fan you know what I'm referring to. I have
- 14:52Speaker 1: a question for the panel, who's actually part of this?
- 14:55Speaker 1: When you get a case of a guy like Rabel,
- 14:58Speaker 1: who's been nominated a bunch of time times clearly deserving,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and then a guy like Welker shows up, who, maybe,
- 15:05Speaker 1: depending on your viewpoint, is even more of a shoe
- 15:08Speaker 1: in than that guy, and you know he gets nominated
- 15:10Speaker 1: because that's the first time he's able to be nominated.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Do you does the room lean towards the guy who's
- 15:17Speaker 1: had the nominations already or the guy who's the sure thing.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I can't tell you what the room I don't know.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I mean, like what, I have no idea. I told
- 15:23Speaker 1: you I leaned to Welker, but I don't know what
- 15:27Speaker 1: everybody else is going to do. I have no idea.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I mean, and when, when and when we publish him?
- 15:32Speaker 1: We don't tell the fans this guy got the most votes.
- 15:34Speaker 1: We do it in alphabetical order. No, I know, I'm
- 15:38Speaker 1: just trying to get a gauge on what like if
- 15:39Speaker 1: there's a discussion that comes up, they were like, well,
- 15:43Speaker 1: this guy's it's his first year to be nominated, but
- 15:45Speaker 1: this guy's been nominated five times. Do we give credit
- 15:48Speaker 1: to the before that, you know, we had the session,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I emailed Stacy and I said, would we ever consider
- 15:55Speaker 1: a new rule where if a guy gets on the
- 15:59Speaker 1: nomination ballot five years in a row in a row?
- 16:03Speaker 1: And Stacy was like, no way, Yeah, you know I
- 16:06Speaker 1: And his point is there's never been a guy who
- 16:10Speaker 1: was the number one vote getter who didn't eventually make
- 16:14Speaker 1: the haul. But didn't he correct that yesterday when he
- 16:17Speaker 1: was going over all the different people. People said that
- 16:19Speaker 1: that year, but like, no one that who had been
- 16:24Speaker 1: a number one didn't get in eventually. That's oh, didn't
- 16:27Speaker 1: get in evance eventually eventually. Yeah, I think I think
- 16:31Speaker 1: that's a little bit. See, I don't envy Stacy because
- 16:34Speaker 1: it's it's there's no because I when they initially did this,
- 16:37Speaker 1: I was like, this is crazy, you can't do it
- 16:39Speaker 1: this way. And then we were like sitting around and
- 16:42Speaker 1: Fred and I were with Stacy, Brian, several other people.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Matt Smith was involved trying to figure out what is
- 16:48Speaker 1: the best way to do this, and we came up
- 16:50Speaker 1: with all kinds of different ways. They all have flaws.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Every every way, every thing that you could come up with,
- 16:57Speaker 1: there's a flaw to it. So it's not an easy
- 16:59Speaker 1: thing to come up with a perfect solution, right, but
- 17:03Speaker 1: there is a log jam. But but the argument was
- 17:07Speaker 1: like the fans don't know. And then you know, one
- 17:10Speaker 1: of the one of the examples is Raymond Claiborne when
- 17:14Speaker 1: he was the number one right UM fans. You know,
- 17:19Speaker 1: the room thought, no, the fans are never going to
- 17:21Speaker 1: vote him in. And he was going up against you know,
- 17:23Speaker 1: some current guys and he got in. He got in,
- 17:27Speaker 1: the fans voting him in. But that seat, there was
- 17:29Speaker 1: a very specific thing that happened, uh that year, and
- 17:32Speaker 1: you had let's say, Wes Welker and Mike Rabel and
- 17:37Speaker 1: Ray Claiborne. So what happened A vote gets split between
- 17:40Speaker 1: the two popular guys, right, And you know, it was
- 17:45Speaker 1: a very I think a very fortuitous year because Claiborne
- 17:50Speaker 1: absolutely deserves to be in and I thought that a
- 17:53Speaker 1: guy like that would never get in, um, but it
- 17:56Speaker 1: happened to be the perfect storm of two guys that
- 17:59Speaker 1: split the vote and then he kind of snuck his
- 18:02Speaker 1: way through the Lorens guy back door. I like your idea, though, Fred, Like,
- 18:05Speaker 1: for a guy who's like, clearly if he's been nominated
- 18:08Speaker 1: that many years in a row, clearly he's gonna be in, Like,
- 18:10Speaker 1: let the guy in right. You know. That was literally
- 18:13Speaker 1: on the tip of my tongue when you started to
- 18:14Speaker 1: say that, I'm like, why don't you limit it? So
- 18:15Speaker 1: then it's like, all right, it's now or never. If
- 18:17Speaker 1: you're voting for Raybel, this is it, you know, and
- 18:20Speaker 1: if not, especially like you get you know, and I
- 18:22Speaker 1: know that you can't you can't think of these kinds
- 18:24Speaker 1: of things. But I think get logistics, and like what
- 18:26Speaker 1: Mike had talked about, like if you had Raybel and Welker,
- 18:30Speaker 1: they're both currently they're coaching in the league, right, so
- 18:33Speaker 1: you're not going to have their traditional arguest setting here
- 18:37Speaker 1: to get those guys back, why not put him in together,
- 18:39Speaker 1: you know, just put him in right and move along. Yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, and you can't. You can't just change the
- 18:45Speaker 1: rules midstream. And I get that. And like I said,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I used to push back on Stacy a lot on
- 18:52Speaker 1: the one per year in the fan vote, but I
- 18:56Speaker 1: don't really, I don't have a solution that's better. I don't,
- 19:00Speaker 1: and I believe man Fred and I have spent more
- 19:02Speaker 1: time than we care to talk. I mean, you know,
- 19:04Speaker 1: you could turn the nomination committee into a selection committee
- 19:07Speaker 1: and then the fans don't vote. You know. But and
- 19:11Speaker 1: you guys were talking about what is the room like,
- 19:13Speaker 1: and I would say that it's when when you have
- 19:17Speaker 1: guys like raybel Mankins, Will Fork and Welker you know ourselves.
- 19:23Speaker 1: But they all get they all get nominated, they all
- 19:26Speaker 1: get spoken of very highly. People's second you know, the nomination,
- 19:29Speaker 1: they they add, you know, like like my insightful comment
- 19:32Speaker 1: of two thousand and eight, which evidently is resonated. Sniff.
- 19:36Speaker 1: There's a lot of further adding on when when Fred nominated,
- 19:41Speaker 1: Vybel I thought Mike Reis did a great job of
- 19:43Speaker 1: talking about just how much he meant to the team
- 19:46Speaker 1: going beyond. You know, his toughness, is playing hurt, his
- 19:50Speaker 1: willingness to stand up and be a leader, you know,
- 19:52Speaker 1: right from the day he got here. I remember the
- 19:54Speaker 1: Andy Katzenmoyer thing. I've told that story a million times. Yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: they played in college. He an Ohio State guy, and
- 20:01Speaker 1: Katzimoya went a wall and Rabel was a free agent.
- 20:05Speaker 1: He had just gotten here and he's got to deal
- 20:06Speaker 1: with this because everybody's asking him because oh, you went
- 20:08Speaker 1: to Ohio State, you know, with Andy Catsimore, and he
- 20:11Speaker 1: dealt with that like as professionally as you could. I
- 20:14Speaker 1: just thought he was a really strong leader did all that.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So there's a lot of positive things that get said
- 20:20Speaker 1: about the guys. The only guy who ever gets any
- 20:22Speaker 1: pushback is Parcels, and for obvious reasons, Parcels is a
- 20:26Speaker 1: lightning rod candidate because of the way he left. So,
- 20:30Speaker 1: you know, for the most part, you have no idea
- 20:34Speaker 1: who how the room is going to go. Because Fred
- 20:37Speaker 1: says Rabel, everybody says Rabel's great. You know, Mike says Willford.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Everybody Wilfork's great. No one says but will Ford. No
- 20:45Speaker 1: one does that, Yeah, no one. So I have no
- 20:48Speaker 1: idea who was you know, who is going to be
- 20:51Speaker 1: the pick? I really don't. To me, it was easy,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but it won't be. It won't be easy because everybody
- 20:57Speaker 1: has a different thought. Yeah. So we'll see, you know,
- 21:01Speaker 1: when the top three come out and then the fans vote.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So it's still a little acrimonious with Parcels. There's some
- 21:07Speaker 1: oh yeah, well Mets Me and Brian Moore, Fred and Brown.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm on that wall, you know, I listen, I have
- 21:13Speaker 1: not I he's a great coach. He's the second greatest
- 21:17Speaker 1: coach we've ever had, and he's in the Pro Football
- 21:21Speaker 1: Hall of Fame. He's also a great talent evaluator. I'll
- 21:24Speaker 1: give him that. I will tell you yesterday. But when
- 21:26Speaker 1: we when we sat down, I tweeted out, you know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: heading into the meeting, who do you guys like? By
- 21:33Speaker 1: far and away, the most was parselves. Oh yeah, you
- 21:36Speaker 1: tweeted out to who Twitter? I mean just regular fans
- 21:42Speaker 1: and parcels all Twitter, all of Yes. I tweeted it
- 21:46Speaker 1: out and everybody get this going. I added that that
- 21:53Speaker 1: Joe Horrigan got it from from Pro Football. Um no,
- 21:57Speaker 1: ill tweeted out who do you guys like? And the
- 22:01Speaker 1: vast majority of my mentions were like, can we just
- 22:04Speaker 1: you know, get it over with your followers? But but
- 22:08Speaker 1: that that could be true. But Parsels has been and
- 22:11Speaker 1: he has been a finalist, and he's not come close,
- 22:14Speaker 1: right vote yeah, And I don't think he ever will listen, Like,
- 22:18Speaker 1: I'm not gonna, like, you know, go on strike if
- 22:23Speaker 1: he gets in, because you're, like, you know, like because
- 22:25Speaker 1: you're fire, you're you're you're you're like balanced. You look
- 22:29Speaker 1: at things from from a couple of different ways. When
- 22:31Speaker 1: you're not on this. I just can't get over, Like
- 22:34Speaker 1: because it's a team Hall of Fame, I just can't
- 22:36Speaker 1: get over how he treated the team. Yeah. I mean
- 22:39Speaker 1: that's like like if if you were IBM and you
- 22:42Speaker 1: had like employee of the Centuries, you know, awards and
- 22:46Speaker 1: you know, there was this amazing salesperson, but at the
- 22:50Speaker 1: end he like torched the place. I just can't put
- 22:54Speaker 1: him in there like any other company. I know, sports
- 22:56Speaker 1: is different, but who shall not be named, yes, probably
- 22:59Speaker 1: not gonna get into the hall. Yeah right, you know,
- 23:01Speaker 1: so like I don't know what about that that makes
- 23:05Speaker 1: me think of Moss. Yeah, like if he were here longer,
- 23:08Speaker 1: like I think most people think he wasn't here long enough.
- 23:09Speaker 1: If he was here a lot, he'd be a shoeing Yeah.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I think that's the problem with Moss. He's a tough
- 23:14Speaker 1: one because because of the way he left so well,
- 23:17Speaker 1: but he was okay, he kind of talked his way out,
- 23:20Speaker 1: like yeah, oh yeah. I definitely like Mancus had Mancus
- 23:23Speaker 1: Mancus had acrimony with the team. I think he should
- 23:26Speaker 1: be in Yeah. I mean, you know, um a little
- 23:29Speaker 1: so I don't bless A little different when when you're
- 23:31Speaker 1: a player. You can't control that a lot of time.
- 23:34Speaker 1: You know, you have to stick up for yourself sometimes
- 23:36Speaker 1: because it's such a business. But Paracels didn't need to
- 23:38Speaker 1: do what he did. Yeah, the compact was thick in
- 23:40Speaker 1: this morning is I'm like Parcels. He's kind of one
- 23:43Speaker 1: of the grandfathers of the Patriots dynasty. But he cheated
- 23:46Speaker 1: on grandma and he took the dog with him when
- 23:48Speaker 1: he left him and Curtis Mark, you know, like, I
- 23:53Speaker 1: can't get that propaganda thing out, can't get take the
- 23:58Speaker 1: boy out of the propaganda, can't take it's a good cup.
- 24:03Speaker 1: But I but I get how people are, you know,
- 24:06Speaker 1: like at least reasonable about it. I just don't get
- 24:08Speaker 1: the people like absolutely not. His record wasn't good. It's
- 24:11Speaker 1: like that's stupid. Did you live here? Did you? Did you?
- 24:15Speaker 1: Like you can't dismiss it completely because I lived here.
- 24:19Speaker 1: And the Patriots were terrible patriots born in the NFL. Right,
- 24:23Speaker 1: they were not even they were not even an NFL team.
- 24:26Speaker 1: And if they had like, like you get delegated, what
- 24:30Speaker 1: is it called regular? What is it called when you
- 24:31Speaker 1: get relegated? Yeah, there's the right word. Yeah, if they
- 24:36Speaker 1: had that, the Patriots would have been relegated. Well, yeah,
- 24:39Speaker 1: I mean before he got things went really I mean,
- 24:41Speaker 1: they did make the Super Bowl in night, you know,
- 24:44Speaker 1: in eighty five and all that, but things went really
- 24:47Speaker 1: downhill after that, you know, and the Sullivans just didn't
- 24:50Speaker 1: have the money and the team was just and then
- 24:52Speaker 1: kai Am comes in and he's ridiculous, and I'll say,
- 24:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna go on Fred's side, even though I am
- 24:58Speaker 1: a pro parcels guy in the hall. Fred says, you know,
- 25:01Speaker 1: I just can't overlook. Yeah, if this, if it didn't
- 25:05Speaker 1: have anything to do with the way he left, this
- 25:06Speaker 1: wouldn't be a discussion. Like anybody that says his record
- 25:09Speaker 1: wasn't good enough doesn't really deserve to have an opinion
- 25:12Speaker 1: because you can't look past anything that's on a spreadsheet.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Who he's thirty two and thirty two like that tells
- 25:18Speaker 1: you what he did, having no idea what he inherited.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And you know, you know that was talked about yesterday too. Yeah,
- 25:26Speaker 1: he came in, took a two and fourteen team that
- 25:28Speaker 1: didn't have two NFL players, let alone enough to compete.
- 25:33Speaker 1: They went one and eleven to start. They were pretty
- 25:37Speaker 1: good after that, you know what you know. And the
- 25:40Speaker 1: point we talked about this morning was how many of
- 25:42Speaker 1: the members of the Hall of Fame did he bring in,
- 25:45Speaker 1: Like how many of those guys did he draft or
- 25:47Speaker 1: even guys you know, just uh, you know, it was
- 25:51Speaker 1: what Troy Brown, William McGinnis, ty law he brought in.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Adam vinitary lawyer Malloy is another Hall of Fame calibre player.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Bruce in the Hall Drew who, like the nucleus of
- 26:07Speaker 1: the First Dynasty, was brought by Bill Parcels and and
- 26:11Speaker 1: developed by Bill Parcels and just like I would say,
- 26:14Speaker 1: Chuck Fairbanks deserves strong consideration for the same exact thing
- 26:18Speaker 1: in the seven seventies. Now it didn't have as much success.
- 26:21Speaker 1: He's among the nominees. Correct, he was nominated, Yes, he
- 26:25Speaker 1: was one of the nine. He was, Oh, he was
- 26:27Speaker 1: one of them yesterday. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I thought the ballot.
- 26:31Speaker 1: He never he's never on a ballot. I don't think
- 26:33Speaker 1: I believe he was a finalist. Oh really one year? Yeah,
- 26:36Speaker 1: I think I actually wrote something for my pass, popping
- 26:39Speaker 1: in a sight kind of just making a case for you, Chuck, mean,
- 26:44Speaker 1: just making a case for him. Of I nominated you
- 26:47Speaker 1: know what he did and uh, you know, and also
- 26:50Speaker 1: to the element of the offensive and defensive schemes that
- 26:53Speaker 1: were developed here are still the ones that they kind
- 26:55Speaker 1: of the great the great point that I believe Ernie
- 26:58Speaker 1: has made in the past. Oh yeah, right, I just
- 27:00Speaker 1: got an Ernie comp right there, I'm done, drop the mic,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I'm out, you know, And people talk about it all
- 27:05Speaker 1: the time, you know, you know, and Ernie's talked about
- 27:07Speaker 1: this on the record. Again. This is why I'm not
- 27:10Speaker 1: this is not a Hall of Fame talk. But everything
- 27:14Speaker 1: they did, everything that they do comes from Yeah, seven
- 27:18Speaker 1: seventies patriots. Ye Are you allowed to say who was
- 27:22Speaker 1: in the room? Oh yeah, But for the members of
- 27:24Speaker 1: the committee, yeah, that's pub I think that's public. Ernie
- 27:27Speaker 1: among them. No, he couldn't make it. He was stuck
- 27:29Speaker 1: in Florida or something like that, or he couldn't get
- 27:31Speaker 1: a flight, I think. Yeah. Usually all those cancelations that
- 27:34Speaker 1: they had in times mostly media guys. Yeah, you know,
- 27:40Speaker 1: Mike Reeves, Tom currn uh, you know, Jim McBride from
- 27:44Speaker 1: the Globe, Karen greegean from the Herald, you know, Fred
- 27:47Speaker 1: and I, Matt Smith, Brian Moorey comes back, for it,
- 27:50Speaker 1: um So Multims, Mark Farnella, Glenn Farley, uh, Bill Burt
- 27:56Speaker 1: but Sterns Sterns, Joe mro CEOs Sino. Joe's on the committee. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Joe does a good job on the twenty guys. One
- 28:09Speaker 1: of our old stats guys who's been here forever is
- 28:11Speaker 1: on it. Yeah. Um, Hendry, I don't know about you, Henry.
- 28:15Speaker 1: No one does voting open up to the fans. That'll
- 28:18Speaker 1: be yeah, coming at the end of the month, end
- 28:20Speaker 1: of the I would think that we will keeple weeks. Yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 1: I think it'll be. It'd be sooner than later because
- 28:25Speaker 1: that's usually well in play at the draft. As I
- 28:28Speaker 1: made the comments, are you guys usually uh surprised or
- 28:33Speaker 1: do you usually think they get who you think it's
- 28:35Speaker 1: gonna be them fans? Yeah, I mean you guys nominate them,
- 28:38Speaker 1: but I assume you have a feeling it's probably gonna
- 28:40Speaker 1: be this guy. Is that usually who the fans go with?
- 28:44Speaker 1: I know I almost never get it right. I don't
- 28:47Speaker 1: I almost never. I think I can tell you who
- 28:50Speaker 1: I predict the fans will pick, and I get that
- 28:52Speaker 1: right mostly, but it's not. It's not generally who I
- 28:56Speaker 1: think it should be Paul hates the fans because I
- 29:01Speaker 1: can pick it because I think that it's a popularity contest.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, all right. Five five Pats five hundred
- 29:09Speaker 1: is the A Sticket hot line. Web radio at Patriots
- 29:11Speaker 1: dot com is the email address. No transactions since the
- 29:14Speaker 1: last time we had a show. Quiet. Things are a
- 29:16Speaker 1: little quiet right now. Various visits popping up, various visits.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Tiger even par after four. So Andrew Booth, I think
- 29:24Speaker 1: was here yesterday, cornerback. That's that's a big offensive lineman. Yeah,
- 29:29Speaker 1: Deuce has lead me to a take development. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 29:31Speaker 1: oh yeah, I really like this Scarred from Boston College
- 29:35Speaker 1: Zion John Yeah or Andrew Booth, you know, like that's
- 29:41Speaker 1: like don't you just think that that would be like
- 29:43Speaker 1: the perfect for Patriots fans. They take a guard at
- 29:47Speaker 1: twenty one, right, so local, local guy. That's why that's
- 29:53Speaker 1: why they get rid of shock, right, they knew because
- 29:55Speaker 1: they could save money and get a guy just as
- 29:57Speaker 1: good in the draft. I hope not the guy all right, Interesting,
- 30:02Speaker 1: we have it on the record beforehand. I like that
- 30:04Speaker 1: the middle linebacker from Georgia's getting a lot of yan. Yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 1: Nakobe Dean. I, um, it was funny. We talk about
- 30:11Speaker 1: just a tremendous college boy he is, and I look
- 30:13Speaker 1: at him in Lloyd and yesterday Paul was before talking
- 30:16Speaker 1: about watching offensive Line with TJ. Yesterday I was watching
- 30:19Speaker 1: the Kobe Dean and Devin Lloyd with with Mike Son Campbell,
- 30:23Speaker 1: trying to get a feel for who I like better.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I think they're both potential options there, and I admittedly
- 30:29Speaker 1: like I was a little bit like Dean man it
- 30:31Speaker 1: seems small, but I just think with him, I've really
- 30:34Speaker 1: come around and I feel like both those guys would
- 30:36Speaker 1: be excellent. But I think with Dean, I think I'm
- 30:38Speaker 1: leaning a little bit towards him just because he's a player.
- 30:40Speaker 1: But he's a football he would be he would be
- 30:43Speaker 1: breaking the mold. He would be never had that sideline
- 30:46Speaker 1: to sideline guy. But he you know when it's like
- 30:49Speaker 1: you watched him, small guy like Zach Thomas type of player,
- 30:52Speaker 1: you never had a small inside. Yeah, he's able to
- 30:55Speaker 1: read through all the RPO stuff. I mean, he just
- 30:58Speaker 1: he he sees it, any reacts and I think his size,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I don't know how it all fits together, but I
- 31:04Speaker 1: think like at the end of the day, what I
- 31:06Speaker 1: what I kind of grabbed onto is Bill being like,
- 31:09Speaker 1: can he play football? You know? And I think that's why.
- 31:11Speaker 1: But I think both those guys are are excellent. They
- 31:13Speaker 1: can run, you know, It's just Lloyd's a little bit
- 31:16Speaker 1: bigger and maybe you know, plays off the edge a
- 31:18Speaker 1: little bit more, so maybe he fits that mold a
- 31:20Speaker 1: little bit more. But I think both those guys are
- 31:22Speaker 1: are excellent and would be good and would be good choices,
- 31:25Speaker 1: you know. But I also wonder my thing with them
- 31:27Speaker 1: is how realistic is the mc grown stuff? How realistic
- 31:30Speaker 1: do they feel about him? Did they really feel when
- 31:33Speaker 1: they drafted him in the fourth round that this is
- 31:35Speaker 1: a guy that we feel like will be a Day
- 31:37Speaker 1: two guy. We're getting a deal on him because he's
- 31:39Speaker 1: hurt and next year he's gonna be gonna be good
- 31:41Speaker 1: to go, because you know, I see some similarities in
- 31:44Speaker 1: what you think those guys might be. So and the
- 31:47Speaker 1: last part of it is just that I really feel
- 31:49Speaker 1: like edge is a huge need. I think edge is
- 31:51Speaker 1: just I think that might be the biggest need on
- 31:54Speaker 1: defense is somebody who can get in there and set
- 31:57Speaker 1: the edge and be you know, move around and be
- 31:58Speaker 1: tough and you know, get after the quarterback and play
- 32:00Speaker 1: three downs. And so as much as you I really
- 32:03Speaker 1: am intrigued by those middle linebackers, I also feel like
- 32:06Speaker 1: I think they need an edge. I think they need
- 32:08Speaker 1: a you know, not just a pass rusher, but a
- 32:09Speaker 1: guy who can play three downs on the edge. And
- 32:12Speaker 1: I'm not sure at twenty one if if there's a
- 32:14Speaker 1: perfect kind of guy that's going to kind of intrigued by,
- 32:17Speaker 1: let's try a smaller, faster guy in the middle that
- 32:20Speaker 1: can go either way. I'm with you, you know, because
- 32:23Speaker 1: you okay, so you get a good edge guy on
- 32:25Speaker 1: the right side, what about when they go to the
- 32:27Speaker 1: left side, So like, maybe this guy that can clean
- 32:31Speaker 1: up either way. I like the idea of that too, because,
- 32:35Speaker 1: you know, instead of trying to say, like, well, we
- 32:37Speaker 1: have these safeties that are hybrids and they could, why
- 32:40Speaker 1: can't we just get a linebacker who could play linebackers
- 32:42Speaker 1: supposed to with safety, you could play line That's what
- 32:45Speaker 1: I would like to see them try to do. And
- 32:47Speaker 1: I know there's no perfect there's no perfect prospects. I
- 32:51Speaker 1: think this guy, you know, both of the guys that
- 32:53Speaker 1: Mike talked about, Lloyd Endean can be like the laundry
- 32:57Speaker 1: list of guys that are playing like that in the
- 32:59Speaker 1: league now, Yeah, the Devin Whites of the world. Yeah, that,
- 33:02Speaker 1: you know, I don't know if they're going to be
- 33:04Speaker 1: as good. Maybe they won't. Maybe they won't in this system.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe Bill knows that can't work in
- 33:09Speaker 1: this system. I don't know. But if that's the case,
- 33:11Speaker 1: change the system a little bit. Yeah, to a guy
- 33:14Speaker 1: that can just make football plays. Yeah, it's hard not
- 33:16Speaker 1: to watch those kind of players and not think of
- 33:19Speaker 1: Buffalo and how, you know, how how will these players
- 33:22Speaker 1: impact those two games against Buffalo? And I mean, I
- 33:25Speaker 1: could make the starky punt comment, but you know, just
- 33:28Speaker 1: being able to deal with that. And that's when I
- 33:29Speaker 1: see Dean and I'm like, he can handle Josh Allen,
- 33:33Speaker 1: like he can watch those and know where to go,
- 33:35Speaker 1: and you know, I They're fun to watch, both those guys.
- 33:38Speaker 1: All right, eight five five PATS five hundred web Radio
- 33:41Speaker 1: at Patriots dot Com is the email address. Let's turn
- 33:43Speaker 1: to the phone see what people are thinking. Start with Todd,
- 33:47Speaker 1: North Carolina. What's up, Todd? Hey, morning, guys. You're now
- 33:52Speaker 1: the number one in my Nielsen ratings. Thing that I'm
- 33:54Speaker 1: filling out for them. I oh, nice, listen to you
- 33:56Speaker 1: guys more often than not. I'm not sure if Nielsen
- 33:59Speaker 1: record towards us. But are you really a Nielsen family todd? Yes? Wow,
- 34:04Speaker 1: I don't think i've ever been either man, anyone who
- 34:07Speaker 1: knew somebody that came across somebody that. Yeah, and I
- 34:10Speaker 1: thought I got a lot of power. Yeah, I thought
- 34:14Speaker 1: it was kind of a lot of power. Yeah, put
- 34:15Speaker 1: us in there, Thank you? I did. Yeah. Sure, Wow,
- 34:19Speaker 1: you fill out a little journal. Are they still doing
- 34:21Speaker 1: it that way? Yeah? I fill at a journal and
- 34:24Speaker 1: then I have to see it. So I listened to
- 34:25Speaker 1: a week of I put down all my listening and
- 34:27Speaker 1: my wife's listening for one week. So oh it's it's radio.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Nielsen's too, like that not television radio. And they do
- 34:34Speaker 1: streams too. Now wow, wow, dude, you get compensated if
- 34:38Speaker 1: you have a lot of power. I gotta have to
- 34:40Speaker 1: stop making fun of you for a couple of shows.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Anyone earn any money, so they call it a gift
- 34:44Speaker 1: when they send it to you. Because I'm Canadian and
- 34:46Speaker 1: I don't have the work views, I'm my ead expired,
- 34:49Speaker 1: so I get this gift from them. Of about thirty
- 34:51Speaker 1: dollars a month. Wow, okay, pays for lunch, exactly, pays
- 34:58Speaker 1: for lunch, take the kid out for some fun. Wow.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I'm with Paul. I have never met or even heard
- 35:04Speaker 1: of anyone that knows. Yeah, somebody who was a Nielsen Penson.
- 35:08Speaker 1: It's crazy for me, neither of I and my old job.
- 35:10Speaker 1: We that was I mean, six am you want to
- 35:14Speaker 1: show premiered you? That was it? That was everything? What
- 35:18Speaker 1: what was watched? And what are the numbers? And how
- 35:20Speaker 1: did you keep your leading? I mean it's you're waiting
- 35:22Speaker 1: on and so Todd, you're kind of famous. Yeah. Well, also, guys,
- 35:26Speaker 1: they're really important. My wife used to work for Procter
- 35:28Speaker 1: and Gamble and they use Nielsen shopping down all the time,
- 35:31Speaker 1: so you can become a Nielsen shopper as well. So
- 35:33Speaker 1: you see those guys in the taking scanning and stuff
- 35:35Speaker 1: and they're not buying anything, but they're picking up all
- 35:37Speaker 1: this stuff. They get paid too. Then they're Nielsen as well. Nielsen.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I didn't know how big they were until we started this,
- 35:42Speaker 1: and then my wife told me a while back. When
- 35:44Speaker 1: I worked there, we did that too, So they're huge.
- 35:47Speaker 1: No socks is a good reader of Nielsen ratings. Yes, like,
- 35:50Speaker 1: because when you get your Nielsen, like for example, the
- 35:52Speaker 1: Patriots and Filtered show, there's a rating how it started
- 35:56Speaker 1: and then throughout the half hour, and so you know
- 35:58Speaker 1: the different demos started out yeah with a point eight
- 36:04Speaker 1: and then right that you held your lead and then
- 36:08Speaker 1: and then right gives you the I had your best
- 36:10Speaker 1: stuff in the second fifteen minutes because trash talk segment
- 36:16Speaker 1: did particularly let me ask let me ask you this,
- 36:19Speaker 1: So what what what else tied? Well, I'm done with
- 36:22Speaker 1: w EI's off day and Andy the slimey shine that
- 36:26Speaker 1: they've got in there is a weird combination of Howard Stern,
- 36:29Speaker 1: Andy and Deuce and all the negative parts of Deuce. Wow.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I don't know how I shot across the bottle or not.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know enough about Shine to
- 36:39Speaker 1: go and get your shine to tell you if that's
- 36:41Speaker 1: accurate or not. Who is he? He's the one of
- 36:43Speaker 1: the producers. I think he's the guy who took Ken's
- 36:45Speaker 1: spot in the morning. Okay, I don't know. He's Keith
- 36:49Speaker 1: producer for a while. Yeah, I thought he got promoted
- 36:51Speaker 1: if he moved or not. I thought he's the guy
- 36:53Speaker 1: with Curtis Now in the Morning with Ken Leard. He's
- 36:56Speaker 1: an executive producer or something now too as well. Is
- 36:59Speaker 1: that his last name, shine Shine Chris, Chris Chris. They
- 37:04Speaker 1: call it shime time. Yeah, okay, so he absolutely hates
- 37:08Speaker 1: everybody has a snappy little name. He's more negative than
- 37:11Speaker 1: I am at time. Does he know football at all?
- 37:15Speaker 1: I have no idea, but he thinks. I've heard him
- 37:16Speaker 1: a little bit on Marker was the worst thing that
- 37:18Speaker 1: we could have done. He's waiting for our quarterback to
- 37:21Speaker 1: poop himself on the field and just prove that he's
- 37:24Speaker 1: the listening. Okay, I get I get it too. And
- 37:29Speaker 1: it all came into yeah, he's negative to be negative,
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. And he's figures that Bill done. You listened
- 37:38Speaker 1: to him his commentary. He thinks Bill can't coach, can't
- 37:41Speaker 1: draft Cantons like, oh my god. And he's with Andy.
- 37:44Speaker 1: So it's like, help me. I need to go back.
- 37:47Speaker 1: I need you guys three times a week. Yeah, I agree.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I've been trying to push Fred to that that's good.
- 37:52Speaker 1: That'll that'll actually make Andy more positive, you know, because
- 37:55Speaker 1: he can't maybe is such a he can't tolerate like
- 37:58Speaker 1: somebody being you know, oh, Andy's such a pander. Now
- 38:04Speaker 1: we're trying to get him. We're going to see if
- 38:05Speaker 1: we can. You haven't come on the first round, right yeah?
- 38:08Speaker 1: Put the offer out? Awesome? Yeah, I heard every he
- 38:12Speaker 1: panders to the audience, now unlikely. I heard him going
- 38:14Speaker 1: out with with Gloria and Marloney and he was arguing
- 38:18Speaker 1: my side of the street, and I was like, what
- 38:21Speaker 1: what Andy? It's like? And but it's fun because he's
- 38:23Speaker 1: good at it, and I love hearing somebody who's good
- 38:25Speaker 1: at it, like, like, you can be good at it
- 38:26Speaker 1: all when you choose to be Yep, which side? Which
- 38:30Speaker 1: side of the street? Was he arguing? Though? Whenever anybody
- 38:33Speaker 1: else wasn't. He went to the playoffs with a rookie quarterback,
- 38:36Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, he's the worst coach of
- 38:37Speaker 1: all time? You know that? Okay? You know, like someone
- 38:40Speaker 1: suggests he's the worst coach of all time, right, yeah,
- 38:42Speaker 1: But that's what Andy does. He'll go to the extreme.
- 38:45Speaker 1: So now you're arguing something you weren't even saying, you know,
- 38:49Speaker 1: and then you're defending you, you're defending them mount cooks
- 38:51Speaker 1: that you like. I don't even remember walking up. A
- 38:55Speaker 1: lot of people have been calling for his return. I
- 38:58Speaker 1: know he's some popular guy around he think yeah's it's
- 39:01Speaker 1: He's always one of those. And like Green Bay, I
- 39:03Speaker 1: saw green Bay, like, you know, maybe we could get
- 39:04Speaker 1: Brandon Cooks. Like he's like the gun for higher yeah
- 39:07Speaker 1: around the league, like you need you need an outside
- 39:09Speaker 1: receiver with some speed, go get Brandon Cooks built a
- 39:11Speaker 1: career out of it. He has h Patti's an agawam.
- 39:14Speaker 1: What's up, Patty? What's up? Guys? You okay? Yeah? Yeah,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I can hear you about okay, all right? How about
- 39:22Speaker 1: no better? Sure me? Can you hear me? Now? Catcha right?
- 39:27Speaker 1: I gotta give Paul props. And I wanted to ask
- 39:29Speaker 1: my good questions about a draft PROSPECTU Poulli. I think
- 39:33Speaker 1: you kind of hit the nail on the head with
- 39:36Speaker 1: with your selection for who you think should be in
- 39:38Speaker 1: the Patriots Hall of Fame this year. And and to me,
- 39:41Speaker 1: like I hate to be a sense that are, but
- 39:44Speaker 1: I would have a hard time boating between Benson West
- 39:47Speaker 1: on your phone. I think West has such a stigma
- 39:49Speaker 1: just because of Super Bowl forty six for dropping the
- 39:52Speaker 1: pass that you know, people forget how great he was.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I mean, we all remember how tough Julian Edlman was.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Elman was. West was just as tough. I mean, West
- 40:01Speaker 1: took but he got killed over the middle. They got
- 40:05Speaker 1: a game to game basis. Not only that, but like
- 40:08Speaker 1: he just he racked up, racked up receptions and moved
- 40:12Speaker 1: the sticks. They weren't just like meaningless receptions. Yeah, yeah,
- 40:18Speaker 1: it's crazy numbers. Like when you know, like I remember
- 40:22Speaker 1: the Super Bowl we had in Atlanta, and you know,
- 40:25Speaker 1: we all worked in this one big room and we
- 40:27Speaker 1: got into the conversation of welco vers settlement and we
- 40:30Speaker 1: started taking out the numbers. And yes, Edelman is outrageous
- 40:34Speaker 1: in the playoffs, but Welker's numbers dwarf dwarf overall overall overall,
- 40:41Speaker 1: ye yeah, yeah, oh yeah yeah. And and Edelman's gonna
- 40:46Speaker 1: get into Patris Hall of Fame absolutely. But they had
- 40:49Speaker 1: just won Super Bowl forty six. West would probably be
- 40:51Speaker 1: right there on the Mount Rushman probably would have in
- 40:55Speaker 1: the MVP of forty two. Right, yeah. So, and I
- 41:01Speaker 1: know you brought up ed guys. Have you had a
- 41:03Speaker 1: chance to look at Cameron Thomas from San Diego State?
- 41:06Speaker 1: And that's all I got said all right, thanks Patty. No,
- 41:08Speaker 1: I haven't actually, but I will been doing write it down.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Here's one of six hundred guys. I I was just
- 41:14Speaker 1: looking at, you know, like because Patty talked about that
- 41:17Speaker 1: toughness thing. Welker even had a better year the year
- 41:19Speaker 1: coming off the ACL than Edelman did. Like when Fred
- 41:22Speaker 1: said the numbers twelve from you know, they were comparable.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I mean both of these guys to me, no brainer,
- 41:28Speaker 1: Locke Hall of Patriots, Hall of Fame, bang Like, no
- 41:32Speaker 1: questions asked. I have banan appeal. But Welker had eighty
- 41:35Speaker 1: six for eight forty eight and seven touchdowns the year
- 41:38Speaker 1: after you know, his towny ACL, and he missed time, Yeah,
- 41:41Speaker 1: he missed with a different injury. He missed games that year.
- 41:45Speaker 1: And Edelman coming off to torny ACL, was seventy four
- 41:48Speaker 1: for eight fifty and six touchdowns. So even like, you know,
- 41:52Speaker 1: the toughness thing that Edelman gets probably would get ten
- 41:55Speaker 1: out of ten people to say, oh Edelman's tougher. Even
- 41:57Speaker 1: that was debatable. Yeah, what would I I wish I
- 42:01Speaker 1: could see them standing next to each other because I
- 42:03Speaker 1: just the comp between size between I think Welker is
- 42:07Speaker 1: a little bigger. Um and taller or thicker, thicker. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:12Speaker 1: well I would say, what did I say? I thought,
- 42:17Speaker 1: that's that's my my uh Dislike I always thought Edelman
- 42:21Speaker 1: was bigger, a little bit more explosive. Yeah, but Welker
- 42:26Speaker 1: was more reliable. And I think even like I think
- 42:31Speaker 1: that the to break a tackle and and make yards,
- 42:36Speaker 1: I think Edelman. But to make a guy miss and
- 42:39Speaker 1: make yards was Welker. Yeah, Like it was weird how
- 42:41Speaker 1: that that first guy never got Welker to the ground. Ever,
- 42:44Speaker 1: I always felt like Edelman was the more talented athlete, Yes,
- 42:49Speaker 1: I would agree with, and Welker was the more talented receiver. Yeah,
- 42:51Speaker 1: I would. I would agree with that. Somebody somebody on
- 42:54Speaker 1: the Twitter throughout some old Kent State highlight reel of
- 42:58Speaker 1: Edelman yesterday. Oh yeah he was. He's a great athlete. Yeah,
- 43:02Speaker 1: I think he's a better athlete than Welcome. I think,
- 43:04Speaker 1: like the way Eric just put it, I would agree with. Yeah.
- 43:06Speaker 1: There's a great Kent State video on YouTube of Edelman
- 43:09Speaker 1: that they made his senior year and it's like got
- 43:11Speaker 1: the rudy music and it's kind of a retrospective and
- 43:14Speaker 1: it's but it's jewels. It's the most unintentional comedic thing
- 43:18Speaker 1: you've seen. Like he's real serious and it's kind of
- 43:21Speaker 1: half asked the way they produced it a little bit
- 43:23Speaker 1: um if you if you're looking for some silly young
- 43:26Speaker 1: Edelman state to this state. They always like, you know
- 43:28Speaker 1: the in house, yeah team, like you know you're retiring here,
- 43:31Speaker 1: you're leaving here is the all time, you know, like
- 43:33Speaker 1: what's in Like there's Edelman like real straight face serious,
- 43:36Speaker 1: like taking the question in and used to do before
- 43:39Speaker 1: the totally squinting you know, it's really and then the
- 43:41Speaker 1: guy right, it's funny, it's funny. Uh, let's go to
- 43:47Speaker 1: uh Welliam and Philham. What's up William? What's going on
- 43:51Speaker 1: for it? How you doing good? Asthetic? Right? Uh start
- 43:55Speaker 1: put a noise in the background. Mouth do y'all okay, okay,
- 44:00Speaker 1: um my question is uh all right. You know I
- 44:05Speaker 1: usually when I call it the I'm always talking about
- 44:08Speaker 1: wide receivers. You know, it says I'm kind of really
- 44:10Speaker 1: big on it. But I really like Nakobe Dean Man.
- 44:14Speaker 1: He is nice man. Oh man, I've watched some YouTube
- 44:18Speaker 1: videos going him. The guy's a beast. I mean he's
- 44:21Speaker 1: smart telling the uh little Belichick interviews him and whatnot.
- 44:26Speaker 1: He's he's good. He's really I would like to be
- 44:28Speaker 1: a mess with us. He will plays high power, you know, yeah,
- 44:32Speaker 1: in a different way. But I think he fits the
- 44:34Speaker 1: modern game and he's just he's just a player, you know.
- 44:36Speaker 1: He's one of those guys where he has he's a
- 44:39Speaker 1: little small shirt, but he just knows how to play football.
- 44:41Speaker 1: And I think and I think that they're attracted to those,
- 44:44Speaker 1: to those kind of guys, and it's just hard. I mean,
- 44:46Speaker 1: have you watched much of uh, the other guy from
- 44:50Speaker 1: the YouTube, Utahn Lloyd? Have you watched because I'm just
- 44:53Speaker 1: trying to get a beat on, you know, I just
- 44:55Speaker 1: I think Lloyd's a little bit bigger, but he seems
- 44:58Speaker 1: a little stiffer to me too, to maybe just a
- 45:00Speaker 1: slight I mean, they're both great, but I just was
- 45:02Speaker 1: trying to figure out who's my favorite between those two.
- 45:05Speaker 1: But it's I mean, it's such a big deal. I mean,
- 45:09Speaker 1: we can't just can't overlook it. I mean it has
- 45:12Speaker 1: to be six four or the no. I mean, but
- 45:15Speaker 1: what is he five eleven? He's pretty small. He's like
- 45:18Speaker 1: five eleven two twenty, Yeah, you know, real kind of stocky. Yeah,
- 45:22Speaker 1: So it's Thomas, right, right, Zach Thomas. Yeah, I agree
- 45:26Speaker 1: with Mike. It's more about the weight than the height.
- 45:29Speaker 1: But yeah, he's small, but he's so athletic and so fat.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Like I mean, there's one play out there where they
- 45:35Speaker 1: like did like a throwback screen and he was the
- 45:39Speaker 1: only one who got it and he went all the
- 45:41Speaker 1: way around all the blockers to go to go tackle
- 45:44Speaker 1: the ball carrier for a loss. I mean, it's just
- 45:47Speaker 1: that Pop Warner you read it, But that's what I'm
- 45:53Speaker 1: talking about, you know, like a guy that can clean
- 45:55Speaker 1: up both sides. Yeah, yeah, and he can get there
- 45:57Speaker 1: and he can get there, all right, thanks William Um,
- 46:01Speaker 1: all right, quick game. Nice, perfect way to enter into lunch.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Fred and Wales whiles Um silly? Which is more likely? Game?
- 46:11Speaker 1: There's six of them, so we gotta keep track here,
- 46:13Speaker 1: which is more likely. One Mac finishes the season as
- 46:17Speaker 1: a top ten quarterback or Barmore is a legitimate candidate
- 46:22Speaker 1: for Defensive Player of the Year MAC top ten quarterback. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 1: I don't think Barmore has that kind of profile that
- 46:30Speaker 1: he could right get fifteen plus sacks and dominate like
- 46:34Speaker 1: Aaron Donald right. Two. Patriots defense has the most sacks
- 46:38Speaker 1: in the league, or Butler leads the league in picks,
- 46:46Speaker 1: Patriots lose to the Jets twice, or Patriots beat the
- 46:51Speaker 1: Bills twice. Wow, how things have changed. You notice how
- 46:57Speaker 1: Mike didn't answer that. Yeah take the fifth on that one. Uh.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Folk doesn't miss a field goal under fifty all season,
- 47:05Speaker 1: or Mac doesn't throw a pick six. I'd say that
- 47:09Speaker 1: more likely Folk. Yeah, Folk, Yeah, that's a good one.
- 47:12Speaker 1: That's close though, Yeah, pick six. I don't think you
- 47:16Speaker 1: just throw a pick six every year, that's true of
- 47:20Speaker 1: them's to the outer back Bucks don't make the playoffs,
- 47:25Speaker 1: or Kansas City trades away Kelsey Yeah yeah, well likely yeah. Uh.
- 47:33Speaker 1: And finally the Dolphins owner is forced to sell or
- 47:37Speaker 1: Watson never plays a snap for the Browns. Oh, man,
- 47:41Speaker 1: that's a very good one. I'm gonna goss. I'm gonna
- 47:44Speaker 1: say Watson never plays a snap for the Browns. Oh.
- 47:46Speaker 1: You don't think they'll force Ross out? I think yea
- 47:50Speaker 1: Snyder could be forced out from what we're hearing. He's
- 47:53Speaker 1: got a hundred live somehow. And then finally he says,
- 47:55Speaker 1: you briefly talked about the game of rugby a few
- 47:58Speaker 1: weeks ago and it was clear none of you had
- 48:00Speaker 1: a clue about it. Living in Wales as I do,
- 48:03Speaker 1: where rugby is pretty much religion, I thought I would
- 48:06Speaker 1: give a brief basically think of the Miami Miracle, but
- 48:11Speaker 1: for eighty minutes with no helmets or pads, so it's
- 48:14Speaker 1: all laterals and open field tackling, the major difference being
- 48:17Speaker 1: when a tackle is made, the play is not over. However,
- 48:20Speaker 1: a player on the ground cannot handle the ball. It's
- 48:23Speaker 1: very similar yet entirely different to American football. Hope that
- 48:26Speaker 1: helps I know what I do. I don't think we
- 48:29Speaker 1: were talking about rugby. We're just talking about the fact
- 48:31Speaker 1: that it exists and it's on TV, right right, Yeah,
- 48:34Speaker 1: And you said you were telling me it was on NBC. Yeah,
- 48:37Speaker 1: they have and I was like, wow, I didn't realize
- 48:39Speaker 1: it was on a major like I've seen it, like
- 48:41Speaker 1: on NBC Sports, like Sports Boston plus they had Rugby seven.
- 48:45Speaker 1: They had that tournament, which I bet you if you're
- 48:48Speaker 1: you're a rugby player, you don't like. I couldn't believe
- 48:50Speaker 1: that one with Ebner where you're waiting and the game

- 59:18Speaker 1: Dave here, he's from Lancaster, California, says years ago in
- 59:22Speaker 1: the show, there was a conversation you had about washing
- 59:24Speaker 1: machines and how you had to buy a new one.
- 59:26Speaker 1: I need your help. I can't remember what brand you
- 59:28Speaker 1: said was the best. Uh. Speed Queen is where you
- 59:32Speaker 1: want to go now? I remember this now that you're now.
- 59:34Speaker 1: The problem with Speed Queen is you don't get all
- 59:35Speaker 1: the bells and whistles. It's not like Samsung or LG
- 59:38Speaker 1: where you get this and that and the other. Steve Queen.
- 59:41Speaker 1: But if you if you want just America, if you
- 59:44Speaker 1: want it, I'm eventeen years. If you want an American
- 59:47Speaker 1: made washer with a steel drum, that's just gonna last.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Speed Queen is where you want to go now you
- 59:55Speaker 1: haven't if you have today. If you have a huge family, though,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I want to go with one of the bigger, you know,

- 1:00:04Speaker 1: of Maytag. Maytag is good, durable, yeah, but I like
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Speed Queen. The problem with all appliances nowadays is they're
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: not built to last. But that's why you go with
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Speed Queen. What's the different Speed Queens are the ones
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: used in the laundry mats. They just go. They're built
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: to give you a five to ten years, not to
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Speed Queen. Okay, all the guys that sell all of
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: these different things. A wrong friends rights right quick, Like
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I said, I if you're looking for just a basic
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Speed Queen washer dryer, American made steel drum, no plastic,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: you go, you go with the Speed Queen. Now, some
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: people say they're a little it's a little tough on
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: the clothes, little rough on them, the steel drum with
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: sharp edges. I just I just wanted to help out
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: day there. I'm sure. I'm sure he feels right. You
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: could be standing in the store and right, you're right,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: you know, let me tell me about this. The guys
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: you're calling a radio show. I am. I'm standing in
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: the middle of the store and I forgot what Fred's
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Let me check in with Fred's. That's another great moment
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: from so the guys in lows and he's playing our show.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: You know, when people are like, what the hell is
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I I wasn't here, I guess at that time. But
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I wish I had known this before I had bought
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: our most recent washer dryer. What you get, well, I
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: think a may Tag or something. But I'm I'm just
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I'm appealed. It's appealing to have just I just needed
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: to wash. I don't need all that. I don't know
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I wash. I don't have like permanent press or fabric
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: soft like you need a delicate setting, you know, for
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: your delicates. But other than that, what are I don't
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: What are delicates? I don't. I don't have them. Guys
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: don't have delicate Women have sheets, panting sheets or like um,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: the braziers. If you you have like a dress, like
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: like a dress shirt, Like if you have a dress shirt,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: you want to throw it in the wash that you
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: want to put that in the delicate I'm sure that
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you send your dress shirts to the dry myself. You
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: do what you sell delicate setting and then you then
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: you iron it. No, I have not iron shirts, not
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: iron shirts. It's the Charles whatever it is, the whatever
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: it is not what he said. But yes close. They're
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: great for traveling because like you put you can fold
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: them in. Uh and when you take them out of
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: the suitcase, I mean they wrinkle a little bit, but
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: once you put them on the hangar, they kind of
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: like settle into their shape and they're great washing. You
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: don't have to put them. You don't have to um,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: you don't have to iron them afterwards. They're fantastic. They're
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: like in college, you just like you'd pull them out
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: of the dry, they'd be sitting in the washer for
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: like two days. You dry, and then they be completely
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: wrinkled and smelly because they'll work. They'll they'll work themselves.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: You just throw them on like they eventually they'll they'll
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: get where they need to be. Um, okay, little homes Hey,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: we all do that, right, uh, Paul and Drake writes
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: in at web radio at Patriots dot com. Allow me
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: to share my only concern about the Parker trade and
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: get your thoughts on it. When I think of Parker,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I think of that play in Miami in the twenty
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: nineteen question Mark season where Parker got away from Gilmore
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: and scored a touchdown. Personally, I thought that was Gilmore
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: giving up on the play. But I wonder if that
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: was one of those Bill moments where he saw that
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: and went he beat Steph, so he's got to be good.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Think that might have played into the decision, as it
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: has with some other players. It seemed to only school us.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I'm hoping there were other considerations, but I feel like
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Bill loves those types. Also, Paul, I think you might
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: like a site called Hurdle. It's inspired by Wurdle but
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: you basically get five guesses and sixteen seconds of popular
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: songs for the last forty years, and you have to
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: guess the song. Given your savant knowledge skills in your
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: love of music, you might find it fun. I tried
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: the Wettle which a caller and suggested, Wettle is the
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: football player. That's all right. I mean I've gotten twice.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I don't know if I'll stick with it. But um,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: and the NBA has Purtle some many things a d
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: l A. Those those world guys must be I don't
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: know what the New York Times paid him. Um. But
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I to the Parker point, I don't know. I do
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: think Bill does that. I don't know. I don't know
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: if every game he's had good games against the Patriots
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: he has, And I think Bill does tend to have
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: his eyes opened by by good games against the Patriots.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Welker was a classic example. Yeah h a game where
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: he ended up kicking fuel goals to an extra points.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Imagine Bill after the game lay after a sudden time
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Yeah kick the field goal? Get him? Uh spin fresno. Um.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: He says about the fan voting for the h O F.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Fan voting is fine but also ridiculous. In that we
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: can vote repeatedly. If that can't be fixed, I'll just
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: plan on sixty clicks for Welker. Yeah, that's a good point.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I don't know why we do that stuff the ballot
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: buck we allow people to vote more than once. Really, yeah,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I think so. Well? Can you do it? Like on
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: your send? You spoke up because I was just about
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: to make myself look really like much stupider than normal. Yeah.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I was going to say, you can't do that. You can,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: you could probably vote, but it only counts think you can. Really,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: I thought there was something in place to prevent it.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: On the same device you can vote. Yeah, time, I
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: think so. Yeah. Also, the pronunciation of our varies by dialects.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Some dialects draw out the dipthong in our that's two
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: vowels ou, making it sound like two syllables. Similar variations
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: happen with other words, such as coin pair. Sure languages
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: aren't locked in stone, as they say, a language is
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: just a dialect with an army and a navy hashtag. Hardo.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I don't think that settles it, but thank you for trying.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I do appreciate the effort, but agree with Mike because
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: I don't know, anybody that pronounces coin is a two
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: syllable like quoian quan clean. Some people say shua, yeah,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: but that's not really a two you know what I'm saying,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Like Paul we knew. We had a colleague who used
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: to say clearly, he made clearly like four syllable word,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: nine syllable words, um, dan and here we should have
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: a show like um, you know word uh. Things that
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: bug you, m brammer, things that bug you like you know, irregardless,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: things like that, you know, things like that, can I
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: can I give you one that I don't hear a
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: lot um people talk about do you ever hear anybody
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: like they'll say, like there have been a couple of
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: different incidences. It's it's either an instance or an incident, right,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: they're not incidences, right, yeah, right, Yeah, that's a lot.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I don't hear people. I don't hear that one a
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: lot though. No, that must be a PbD thing. But
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: maybe yeah ATM machine we're done. Ye. There's a lot
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: of those acronyms that you use, you know, yah, h
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: H P power Is it RBI or RBIs? I think
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: it's RBIs. But if you're going strictly grammar, it would
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: be rb RBI. It's runs batted in, right. But I
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: think if you use the right acronyms. Another one I
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: hear often misused attorney generals, Oh right, right, attorneys general,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Yeah right, passers by passers pass mothers in law. Yeah,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: they're not mother in laws. Unchartered, that's a big one.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: That's yeah. Wow, you guys are blowing my mind. You're
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: pulling these out left and right now. Listen, we've had
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: a lot of off season shows, not our first. Fred
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: and I have been doing nonsense for more than two decades, right, yeah,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: so we should have a show people can call in
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: with their pet p with grit, with grammar, yeah, basically
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: literally the people well how people use little like the
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: young kids use literally a lot now and they don't
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: know what it means. Literally they use it all the time, right,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: basically it's literally totally totally Well. I think that like
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: there's a difference between poor grammar, like people use an
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: irony wrong right, as opposed to like the mispronouncing words. Yeah,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: we got that's not a word. Yeah, it's not a word.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: It's funny like being on the show. People have called it,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: you know, have said things in the past, like the
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Stick with You where like you know, you say you
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: know a lot or and it gets in your head
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: and you think about it and try not to and um,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: I was listening to my wife on an A zoom
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: call or an interview and you know, it's taking it
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: in and and and she's like, so, how did I do?
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: And I'm like you can, I can? I I'm like
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: can I And like sometimes people say things to me
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: on the show that I you know, say you know,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: but I do. I'm gonna do because it's a lot,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: it's right, she did? Yeah, right, that's right, right, all right?
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Or what about this is a recent one, like maybe
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the last four years? Yeah, no, oh, I have that. Yeah.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Going back to the Welker discussion, he was famous for that.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: You got me on that one. I think I said yeah, no, yeah,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: which is yeah, Welcer used to run the game, and
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: it was yeah, no, I don't know, right, give me all.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: He would start off almost every answer with that. You'd
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: be like, which I see that one though, is yes,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I understand the question, and the answer is no, yeah, no, yeah,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: I don't have It is a crutch. It's definitely a crutch.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: I don't have a huge problem with it, but it's
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: definitely I have another one. Those who begin sentences with
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: so so so has a specific meaning, right, not for
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: the beginning of every sentence, right, I agree, Fred, What
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: are we going to do in the first round of
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: the draft? Which is not show going to be like
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: and then you would answer so, so you're gonna have
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: it like in how do we need that? Incorrect? Right?
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: And that's uh, that's that's tech talk. Yep, that's I'm
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: over your head. So I'm gonna try to boil it down.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: So I'm gonna Dane, I thought you were. I thought
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: you were getting into corporate speak. That's like the pivot, efforting, efforting.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna effort that. You could do a lot of
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: corporate speak too, but I won't. Yeah, oh yeah, I'm
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: gonna pivot. That the reason they departed others in the building.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: Yeah that what what what bucket does that fall in? Oh? Silos,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: they're just silos we're talking about today. Or then you know,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: like if you're talking about like an idea in business
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: and you really want to be folksy, well that dog
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: won't hunt. Okay, put your cowboy hat on that dogs
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: ain't gonna hunt. Let's uh, let's go. Let's let's table that.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: We'll get back to that one table, circle back'll circle
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: back in a smaller, smaller group for that one off.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: We'll go offline with that. Um, are you gonna share
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the deck after the meeting with the deck? You're gonna
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: get decked if you use that language again. Anyway. Back
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: to your emails and phone calls Dan and Manchester for Rubs,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: he says, I love the idea of getting old teammates
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: back together Mack and MITCHI would be a lot of
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: fun and hopefully he can be what early two Thousandon
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Branch was to Brady. But I was very excited about
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: about the big head possibly coming back for a show.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Someone needs to put Paul in his place every now
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: and then like he used to, and much rather Andy
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: silly arguments than Paul constantly condescending callers and emailers. I
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: love Paul, but holy hell, dude, calm down. I constantly
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: just turn off the show when Paul gets annoyed, because
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: annoyed Paul is incredibly annoying. Replace Eric with Andy and
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: this show would be perfect. Eric gets some shrapnel. Tuesday
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: was an example Parker versus Adams games played. Davante Adams
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: has never played less than uh than double digit games. Ever,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: lists off the games for both players and neither has
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: played less than double digits. True, So at this point,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Paul pulls a friend and switches to games started a
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: little bit. That's a little bit true. I had to
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: take my medicine and we talked about it that day.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: You have to take my medicine anyway. Stevenson's teammate, fullback
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Jeremiah Hall, is a fun undrafted free agent option. Yeah,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: for a team that's not going to have a full
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: back right out. That's what That's what they told. I mean,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: I don't I don't mean to like disappoint people, but
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: if you don't want me to get your noise, don't
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: annoy me. No. But the Parker thing, Yeah, that we
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: talked about that, dude, if you look at it, I
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: still think it's not close. Unlike the way that that
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: the guy who wrote in but the duel, the DeVante
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Parker also didn't miss double more than double digits. You know,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: you always always played double digit games too, It's always
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: like eleven. But whatever, let's get to the Ace ticket
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: up line Aaron's in Flint, Michigan. What's up, Aaron? Hey, guys,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: how's it going? Um? Deer and deers. I don't like
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: when people deers. Yeah, yeah, get get some beers and
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: drink them. Yeah. Last time I calling in, I annoyed Paul.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: He beat me up. So I think I'm just gonna
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: play a game. But Dave, no, I apologize because I
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: was just about to compliment you on. That's a good
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: example of the pronunciation game. Yes, a lot, because I
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: do know a lot of people that call them beers beers.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: It's get some beer, Yeah, you got some said deer,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: deer sainteers, deer beer. Reindeersy dear. We won't let root
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: up playing any reindeer games, right, So what do you got, Aaron?
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I love games, all right? So this is this is
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: this guy, like, what what would you rather see? Jay
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Low all right, son of Tom Brady's. I think we've
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: been doing a lot of running back. So this how
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I came up with this game with the whole running
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: back thing, running Bactus is Brady running it back in
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: two thousand and eight a stead of getting hurt after
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: the two thousand and seventh season, Oh absolutely, or seeing
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: what Josh McDaniels would have done in twenty thirteen with
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: the Gron and Hernandezz combination, because ten eleven, twelve he
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: wasn't there. Then thirteen he come back, and I think
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: the Brady one thirteen. Yeah, I don't think there was
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: much difference there with thirteen. But the eight team was
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: absolutely loaded. Ye loaded. I think that team could have
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: made a run um to win at all. Could we
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: compare the seven defense of the O eight defense, because
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: it seemed like guys are old and oh seven, they're
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: getting older in a way. They had trouble stopping teams
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: they didn't matter. Yeah, it would have just I mean
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: they were just like matter. They were eleven and five
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: with Matt Castle, right, you know what were the changes?
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: So Asante left Junior say out like retired, right he was?
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: He came back at the end. I want to say,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Delta Neil, Delta O'Neil, they have him. Yeah, yeah, that
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: was oh eight, I think oh eight was Delta O'Neill.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: But I can look it up. That's look that up.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: It's easy to just look at Moss, Welker and and
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: and Gaffney, as as the trio. Oh, the team was loaded.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: There was like Fred said, they won eleven games with
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: a guy who never played right right. That was a
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: big deal on why we missed the playoffs because it
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: was five conference games and these are games you know,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: within the division and stuff, you know cooked them up
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: with that. Yeah, I know, yep. Let me see that
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: when you're done, Scale, I want to look at it
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: all right, Thanks Aaron, good game, good game. Let's go
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: to Brad in the Eastern Shore. What's up Brad? How
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: you doing? Hey, good afternoon, guys, good Glad. All is
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: well up in the north Land. Um, just a real
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: subtle behind the scenes Fred, I'm not sure you caught it,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: but deuston, Eric, that was awesome with the for every
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: long program you have a short program that was Paul, Yeah,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Um. Secondly, m Raymond Claiborne may have gotten
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: into the Patriots Hall of Fame because certain at that
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: point fifty three year old men may have voted well
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: over two hundred times. UM, so that is a thing quarterback. Wow.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: But I just felt when he made the final, you know,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: of my era and Paul and Fred Zia other than
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Mike Canes, I thought Raymond Claiborne could not be touched. Yeah,
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: I would agree with that. You know, ty laws passed him,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: but yeah, I would agree with you on that when
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: those two, when those two combined, I mean talk about
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: two shutdown corners. If we had had a quarterback that
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: actually to throw the ball in the seventies, I think
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: that would have been a title contending defense. Brad's my
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: kind of Patriots fan. Yeah, I mean, I don't fall
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: into I've talked to people who were there then and
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: were there when you know, Parcels came in and uh, Carol,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: and they said that those that seventy six and seventy
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: eight teams were so talented, so talented, you know, and
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: obviously we know about the Fantom, the roughing passer with
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Ray Hamilton, and that year they would have probably won
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. That's that's one of those games that
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: they I mean, if they win that game, now you know,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: now you're one game away from the Super Bowl. I mean,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: you could certainly make an argument that the Raiders were
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: the best team, right. You know, with the Patriot, you
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: beat him in the regular season, you beat him in
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: the regular season, you beat him in the playoffs. Who's
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: better than you right. That was seventy seven absolutely who
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: won the Super Bowl night year the Raiders draft game
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: for you guys, so you have you have you have
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: to make a choice. If you take a cornerback in
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: the first round, you have to take a wide receiver
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: not until the fourth round, okay, or linebacker in the
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: first round cornerback in the fourth round. Which would you
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: rather do? I think I'm finding either way. I just
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: the individual not knowing the individual players cloud that for me.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: But I'm okay with waiting for the fourth round to
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: get a receiver. Um, if they take a really good cornerback,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: but is Dean better than the cornerback, then I want
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: the linebacker, right Yeah, I think that's that's where you're comparing.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: You know, you know from Florida that that he's a
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: real popular corner long fits the profile. I think corners
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: a need more than off the ball linebacker. I would
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: pick the corner them and the wide I agree. I
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: agree with dude. I think they have positioned themselves. They
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: are hoping that there is a run on wide receivers
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: from like thirteen to nineteen in that range, and that
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: allows you know McDuffie, Elam or you know, even I
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: like I like the Michigan safety. I think he's tax
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Hill going to be as good at cornerback as he
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: will a safety. Um. But I just see them kind
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: of almost painting themselves into the little corner, which is
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: what I hate, because as soon as we all say
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: they're gonna take a quarterback, Bill's gonna take a tight
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: end and just absolutely plumb access. Wow, that would be
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: one of the rare pos start that I would say,
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: that's bad, that's bally bad because I just watched some
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: of the tight ends. There's a lot of solid third
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: and fourth round picks there. To Eric's huge harump, he
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: will trade down to the Yeah, I've kind of accepted
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: that that's a distinct possibility. So I don't know if
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I'll harump as much this year. But I still want
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: them to make the pick. I believe me. With the
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: English lesson we just had for the last fifteen minutes,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: you as a group really need to find a high
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: school and convince the high school let you go and
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: teach night great English for one day. Yeah all right,
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: well thanks, thanks. I took that. That was quite a
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: shot right there, right, Like what I'm not capable of
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: teaching an English class. No, I think he wants I
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: think he's making fun of us, like we need to
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: convince someone to allow us to teach an English class
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: for one day. I didn't take that. I didn't take
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: it like celebrity morons teaching. Go in there and tell
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: him to stop saying literally, yeah, okay, yeah bad. I
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: think all right, yeah, And you guys all took it
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: as a positive. I'm going to take it as a positive.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: What was Andy going to teach when he was in
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: high school? English? I think it was English? Was it English? Oh? Man?
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: I don't ironically, but that sounds funny. Those kids dodged
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: a bullet hunt and he didn't worked out at a
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: high school student that that's funny. That's yea. I will
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: leave right now. Then he took his shirt off and
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: started flexing. I don't know what. Yes, rivers have ties
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: you more, hugest head. I do want to because I
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: have thought about being a teacher a lot, and I
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: there was a time that I was heading that way
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: and U I don't know the same thing. I don't
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: know if I have the temperament to be like when
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: I coached the kids, especially when I coached in high school,
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Like can you imagine my snark with high school kids? Um,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: but you can say things on a baseball field or
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: a football field that you can't say in a classroom, right, Yeah,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: Like I think I would be one of those, like
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: you know the old ESPN commercials with a young kid
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: is hosting Sports Center and then he says like Jimmy
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Key sucks and all of a sudden is like they
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: put the color bros. Like he came out too early.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: He was just he just wasn't ready. That'd be me
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: after like the first week. I wouldn't make it Like
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: you know, mister Poolo's class would be taught by Mike
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: do So today it's for the rest of the year.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: I mean, Lane has worked in schools her whole career
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: and just the they're all the same, the politics, the
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: behind the scenes stuff that go on with teachers and administrations,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: and each new school it's the it's like the same show.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: It's just someone new playing the same part. It's uh,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: it's yeah, frustrating. I also feel like that the kids
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: nowadays like aren't respectful to the teacher anymore. Like there
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: was like we used to be like scared to death
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: to like even mouth off or do anything. Even the
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: teachers that we hated got all of our respect. Like
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: if they said to do something, I did it. Now
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I feel like they just like they'll like flip you
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: off in class and like you can't do anything about
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: it because they know, Yeah, they know you end up
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: losing your job. Yeah, especially private schools where they the
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: parents are you know, feel like we're paying this money
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: and we should have some say in it. And it's hard. Yeah,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: back to the phones, Brian's in Indiana, to the Brian
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: I could just see past week. He taught Brian top Absolutely,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I would beat them down worse than you beat down. Dude.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I've been hearing about that, Like nah, I mean dudes,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: because just a back and forth. It wasn't like now
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: what I heard. I was scarred emotional. Yeah, he had
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: him in the corner. He's actually underneath the console right now, Brian, No,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: he ain't. Yeah. That was the day of the first
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: first round of the NCAA tournament and I was about
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: eleven middle of lights deep and Mike is calling me.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: He's like, I don't know just what yelling at me.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: It was like listen, Mike, you know I've had it.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: I've had some beers. I don't have time for this.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: That first day when you take off a tournament. It's
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: so funny how they talk about you. That's right, and
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: it's not like Morale Jason my name out of her mouth.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I know. I got a couple of things. One of
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: them I want to touch on was the Hall of
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Fame voting. And I agree with y'all about the Welker.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I always get like it's funny because we're Bray hand bill.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I can kick one and do it the or. But
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: with Welker and Everman, I never felt the need to
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: do that. I've always felt like they were both great
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: players for the team and personally me I understand. I
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: remember the day after that Super Bowl lost, everybody nationally
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: was he got two hands. I've always felt like that
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: was a horrible pass. That was one of Tom Brady's weaknesses.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: If you asked me, it was his range and throwing deep.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: He always had the arm to do it, but he
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: was never very accurate deep and even some of his
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: best throws or best plays if you think about the history,
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: see like I'm a Brady bow bow. But at the
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: same time, I could criticize the guy. He got this
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: bad habit of me to me of throwing to five
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: foot nine guys like they were six foot four, and
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: then he would throw the ground egg his shoe strings
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: and I never I didn't know if it was on
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: purpose is I never understood why he did that, but
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I always thought that was a horrible pass. Back of
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: pass we probably win that Super Bowl. Um, it was
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: one more thing. Oh, the grammar. I'm not a grammar nazi,
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: but it's a thing with sports, especially. Everybody says resiliency
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: like it's a four syllable word. The word is resilience,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: three syllables. Man, everybody, I mean, some of the most
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: well read people. I've heard Eric Dower, I heard Mike
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: Reaess do it. I'm like man, and and like I said,
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: I'm not a grammar nazi. That kind of stuff usually
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: don't bother me. But everybody tool man says resilience. That's
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: a good one. But I always thought that two different.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Believe that two words. Okay, well that resilience and resilience
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: is definitely definitely, But what's the different between resilience and resiliency.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: I don't think there is one. I think he's resilient
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: I think that's the point. It's one of the other
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Resilience is the the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, toughness. Yeah. Um,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: let's see if efforting addiction noun and resiliency and adjective
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: version of that. Because I looked at us, I think
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: he might be right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, the noun
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: is resiliency. The noun is resiliency. Yeah. Oh yeah, uh nothing, Yeah,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: they're they're they're like, there is such a word resiliency. Yeah. Well,
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: it says under resilience, noun resiliency, but it has the
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: it has the definition listed there. But to me, resilience,
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: that sounds like a noun to me too. Uh and
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: and and Brian is right because it says um, resilience
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: and resiliency are different forms of the same word. The
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: nouns refer to the ability to recover quickly from illness
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: or misfortune. But in today's English, resilience is far more
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: common than resiliency. Yeah, especially outside the US and Canada.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: And you've heard me say resiliency, Brian, because many times
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I tend to like I would always say he should
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: he showed resilience, I've heard, right, I mean in sports.
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: That's a comment, and yeah, I think you're right, Brian
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Paul is saying what you're saying. Uh. Yeah, I would
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: have to think back and say, Okay, well they talking
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: about recovering from injuries or what they talking about, like
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: a team fighting through uh you know, like downtimes, say
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: just not playing. Well, maybe maybe they were using resiliency
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: for one and resilience, but I never even heard anybody
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: used resilience. It's always resiliency. Yeah. All I know now
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: is I'm completely confused, and I'm going to avoid that word.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: I think Brian's right. I've always thought of them as
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: two different words, but they're really the same word. And
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: there's no need to add a syllable to him where
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: you educated me, Paul, because I didn't know it was
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: good thought it was one. I didn't had no ideas
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: to different words. Well, I think, but I think you're right.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: It says that the more common is just resilience. Yeah,
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: I think you're right. I usually like to use resilience.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: But I think Brian's point is accurate that on TV
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: you hear them say resiliency, yeah more frequently. Yeah, yep,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: all right, Hey Brian, thank you. It's a good call.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: All right, mommar talk, Yeah, what are your thoughts on?
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Ain't a word. I don't like it. I mean, it's
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: it's fine. I don't like. Oh that shows somebody's uneducated
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: when they use it. But it's not a word. I
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: mean in print. Oh, it shouldn't be used the print.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: The only time you should use it in print is
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: in a quote. And yeah, I would like working here.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: I work for the team. I almost always change it
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: to make the guy who the player silence. Yeah, you
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: know smarter, right I do. I mean unless it's really
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: for a fact, like you know, I ain't knowing that. Yeah,
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: hit him where they ain't. That dog ain't gonna hunt, right,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: you know, hit him where they ain't. It's the old
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: baseball cliche, like you wouldn't say, hit him where they
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: they're where they aren't or they're not. I go to
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: scout with a lot of that stuff because I know
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: he knows grammar better than I do, especially with like quotes,
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: because you know, like with Barmore, you get you know
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: what I'm saying, you know what I'm saying, like hed
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: some people will transfer every phrase that every player. I
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: always wanting to make sure it's okay that I don't. Yeah,
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: you can. The only time you'd ever have to worry
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: in quote, especially sports, we're not talking about real life,
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: like we're not the future or the free world is
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: not at stake with our with our right thing. But
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: if if it's something controversial out of the locker room
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: and it happens, I'm gonna quote the guy verbatim. I'm
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: not going to give him any opportunities to say I
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: didn't say that, right, that's that's a good but you know,
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: not the thumb you know you you know so so Christian,
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: how did you feel about you know, the game? You know,
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: I thought we got in a groove. You know what
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: I'm saying, like I could take that, you know what
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: I'm saying, and I'm not. I'm not changing what he meant.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: I'm not changing what his thought process was and not
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: adding or subtracting anything. Correct, right, Neil and new Brunswick.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: I've been keeping an eye on the endless number of
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: mock drafts and some very common names you see predicted
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: to the Patriots are Nakobe Dean, Devin Lloyd, Trent McDuffie,
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: and Andrew Booth. Do we know anything about these players
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: and if we'd be happy if one of them is
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: picked by the Patriots in three weeks. I think we'd
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: like any of them. I like all of them. I
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: like all of them. I'd take either one of those linebackers.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: I would be happy with Booth. Yeah, yeah, I think
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: you know Booth, he's aggressive. I think he's more of
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: a zone corner. He's not. I mean, look at elam
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: elam fits the part of what Jacy Jackson. You know
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: man Long can play. Uh, you know, has the size
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: to match up. I think, you know, And I really
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: like McDuffie too, But I think McDuffie and Booth are
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: both a little bit more of a projection. They're not
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: pure man coverage. You know, you needing to get a
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: man corner. I think that late you're you're you're lucky
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: to get elam Um. The guys above him with like Stingley,
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: you know, those are those are prototypical guys. So I
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: do think there are some questions like like and Paul
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: kind of inferred with with bootha McDuffie. But I think
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: they're both aggressive and um and make plays on the
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: ball and so. But but I think all those guys
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: fit and and and could potentially help. The other one
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: that is common is Mike's guy, Jamison Williams. Mike hate
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: I'm painted into the corner. Can I just tell you
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: that I am rooting for nothing in this draft other
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: than Jamison Williams because the Hall of Fame. I'm on
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: mount Wait. I guess I'm in like Mountain Ditch. I'm
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: in Ditch Williams. I'm not defending him. I'm looking up
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: and out. Also, this offseason has been exciting, but not
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: for us. Feel free to transition into interesting offseason topics
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: like impressions, movies, candy bars and sitcoms, or how Fred
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: has a feel for the WORDLD league. Okay, those things
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: happen organically. There are an impression off this year and
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: the food off. We don't have a challenge that that's Wroe.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: I forgot about that, the impossible Burger challenge. Remember we
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: brought that up during the season. Oh yeah, we're gonna
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: try to see if we could see. Yeah, I would
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: take part um. I just want to correct something. When
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: I said that I'd be happy with any of them
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: other than Booth, I was thinking of Booth was a
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: different player, and I don't know who I was confusing
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: him with, but I was thinking of Booth as a
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: guard and not the corner, So I just like, I
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: just wanted to correct that. I looked. That's why I
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: looked at you, and because I thought it would be obvious,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: because I don't want an offensive lineman. But yeah, I
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: was confusing him with someone else. So I don't know
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: a ton about Booth obviously, because I confused him with
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: a guard. You're gonna love him. I'm gonna love I'm
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: gonna love what I see one of the thirty visits.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: But I think Penny was the guy. I might have
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: been thinking of the big tackles, but he's gonna yeah
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: from very very nasty nor what Dakota state? Maybe no
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: where was Spencer with Brown from the Bills, Northern Illinois,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: Northern Iowa, Northern Iowa, Northern Iowa. Yeah, there's a couple.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: There's a couples from northern Iowa this year. But yeah,
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: he's a bit you don't like him. He's a big, big,
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: big Penning, Northern Iowa. I guess, yeah, I think for something,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: and that's the guy. Isn't he here? Well coming Penning?
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: I thought they had him scheduled for a visit. Yeah,
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: and that's why I was thinking of that guy for
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: some reason. And I don't know why. It was a
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: lot of names, but he was. I just wanted to
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: correct myself there. One of those, one of those. He
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: was at the Senior Bowl, given everybody extra business throwing
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: guys to the ground. Yeah, I'll take a tackle at
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: twenty one. I don't want to go. I don't want
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: to like a strict guard. If the guy is a tackle, Yeah,
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: and he can, you know, work his way in behind
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: Brown and win for a year and then be the
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: starter next times when one or both of those guys
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: are no longer here. I think, Penny, I'm fine, what
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: could be there? I see him all over the place.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Raymond Zion be an inside guy, but yeah, I mean
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: the Bernie Raymond that he could play tackle, he could
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: in the pinch. I think he's probably more of a
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: an interior guy though. Zion. Yeah, that's what they said.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: Sam writes in from Toronto. With the two thoy nineteen
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: draft receiver class getting so much attention lately, my question
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: for the esteem panel is if he could go back
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: and change the pick from Nikkiel to another who would
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: it be. I know Mike will probably say Hunter Renfro,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: were curious for the others, I'll list the standouts here
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: for before you listen, I'll say Terry McLaurin. I think
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: he's in that draft, right, Yeah, Deebo, Samuel, A. J. Brown,
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, Dante Johnson or Hunter Renfro. And
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: we know Fred's pick, right, Deebo Samuel Yeah, I would
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: take Debo too, but I think of him as being
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: like kind of different. I loved AJ Brown. I think
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: he was mine. No problem with that one. Yeah, he
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: was a pattern developing here receivers who can play Harry
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: uh Stephen writes in in South Carolina. He has a
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: Grammar pet peeve. The word volunteerism baffles me. I heard
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: a coworkers say I'm really into volunteerism. Wouldn't it just
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: be I'm really into volunteering? We better ask that's true?
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: You know what? I think it is? Corporate speak? Yeah,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: I do. I think he's right. I think he's right.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: There's there's a there's a phrase that I've always sort
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: of wondered about. You know, you know, I'm sure Eric
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: can get me the definitive word on this. Do you
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: know when you say he's a friend of mine? Oh, yeah,
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: I know where you're going here. Yeah, if you say
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: he's a friend of Eric, yes, isn't that proper? Isn't
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: a friend of Eric's redundant? Yes? If he belongs to Eric,
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: that's what the of means. It's possessive. So why do
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: we involve Eric's ad one? Like you don't you know?
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Friend Eric's friend would be proper. But if you say
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: he's a friend of Eric, that's also proper. Now yes,
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: but a lot of people people would say Eric right now,
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I don't I don't know that I'm right. I don't
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: know that I'm right about that one, So I'm not
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: being Also, send Eric right, that's how I That's how
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: I would write it, grammar, deep diving, ap parlo English.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: I know very specific. I know you just got on
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: a blog and just wrote on your own. Some of
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: us had to go to college and learn how to
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: do it. Perfect elitism not very good one. But Chris
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: with a TI writes in gigantic pet peeve for people
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: who use right at the end of a comment. Right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: and parcel should be in embarrassing that he isn't in
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: my opinion, Patriots were in football Siberia prior to his arrival.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: Although short, you can't ignore his impact of the absolute
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: home runs he hit in the draft, which helped build
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: the foundation of the early two thousands dynasty. How do
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: you think an average NFL fan associates Bill Parcel's second
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: most everybody he's a Giant's Yeah, but what would you say,
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: would if you ask a fan him after I mean
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: Patriots Cowboys? I mean he took the two championships in
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: a row. I would consider Parcel as a Patriots coach
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: after the Jets after Jean Yeah, okay, yeah, but yeah,
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: I mean I get he bounced around. Sure he was
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: a hired guns. Definitely, definitely a hired gun. That's why,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: Like when Fred says no, because of how he left
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: and all that, I think that's a valid reason to
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: say no. I pushed back on the people to say
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: he was thirty two and thirty two right, like as
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: if that he was turning around a dynasty, you know,
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: turn around, Like his five is the same, you know,
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: isn't as good as what Pete Carroll did? Like, who
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: do you think was better? This is kind of like
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: the games played for DeVante Parker DeVante Adams, Big V,
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: Little V, which one guy plays and dominates, the other
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: guy sits and you know, only dominates Stefan Gilmour. Evidently
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: you know there's no comparison. Audrey from New Hampshire writes in,
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: I was desperate for content last week, and so I
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: listened to Andy's off Day podcast for the first time. Man,
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: but I'm writing because I believe he was promoting his
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: own Draft Night show. So unless he cancels that plan,
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: you're not getting it. Well, he's definitely going to have
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: to do something on Draft Night, but we were figuring
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: he'd be here to do it, which is typically the
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: way they do it. Yeah, we don't need Andy. We're fine.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: Eric is having a Vietnam flashback. Let's see. Um. I
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: don't worry. We'll be in the foxhole with you, Eric,
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: let's see. Nick writes in he says two things. One,
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: if anyone can make Tim Tebow a tight end, it's
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: Bill ha ha. I don't know what that means. He
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: tried to make him a fullback, and that we can't
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: afford to lose Myers. He may not be the most athletic,
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: but he is reliable and consistent. I consider him like
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: a Danny A. Mendola wasn't always making insane plays, but
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: he's there when we need him. Also, as an Amazon driver,
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: I will personally go pick up our next star receiver
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: and deliver him. You get prime, Can you get him
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: here in like two days or when you're already at
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: my house to the Yeah, I don't know Amdolah Myers comparison. Well,
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: he's not talking about stylists. The role when it comes
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: in in a key party, always reliable. I think that's Myers. Okay.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: I think everybody just wants to I mean the infatuation
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: with a slot no offense. We've talked about this a
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: lot off the year. Like to me, I just if
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: if the guy that they get is a slot receiver
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: and he happens to be dynamic and explosive, I'm all
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: for it, like all for it. I want a guy
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: that can make big plays. If he is a slot guy, great,
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: I don't need a guy to make a bunch of
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: catches that a three yeard like. I just I would
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: like to have the offense sort of evolve, loose change. Yeah,
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: but again, you want to give me Welcoer and Edelman
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: in their prime. I'll take that, Yes, I will take that.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: I remember when Welcome is here, you call them loose change.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Now you got him number one on your bat. I
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: also said that earlier in the show. Thanks for listening.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: I used to say that he's a product of Moss.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: I think it creates a lot of space for him.
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: But I do think there's a little bit of nuance
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: between a slot receiver and a guy who can play inside.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: You know, I think like slot receiver, you kind of
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: get pigeonholed as you know what WELC or what Welcore
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: system was. But I think Edelman was kind of a
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: guy that can play inside and could do a couple
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: of little things. I don't see him as a pure,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: pure slot receiver. I think he's purely a slot receiver.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: He could not compete on the outside consistently. He couldn't
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: he couldn't outjump cornerbacks on the outside and win outside
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: the numbers. Maybe he's not an outside receiver, but I
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: think he's not a band I don't think he was
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: a pure slot I do, and I also think the
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: whole slot thing was Brady. That's why I'm not infatuated
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: with getting one. I don't have any idea what Mac
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: Jones would do with Julian Edelman right now. Yeah, I
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: don't know if that would be the best thing for him.
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: Lyndon from New Hampshire. Being a sports fan and a
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: car guy, this one drives me nuts. As far as grammar,
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: an engine clicking or making a similar noise typically indicates
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: there's an issue like low oil pressure, a loose component,
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: or a leak. I believe the correct idiom is firing
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: all on all cylinders. Hitting on all cylinders also works.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: So when somebody says, oh, they're really clicking, he hates
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: that because if it's if it's a car reference, that's
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: a bad thing. Ah. Interesting, Yeah, yeah, I can see
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: where he's going with that. I was going with your engine,
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: which yeah, I was gonnce engine, but I saw that
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: he overpronounced it too. Did you notice like you don't
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: like it? They don't like it when I say engine
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: because it's incorrect. But would how would you say don't
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: let us engine and engine engine? But I'm not saying
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: you're wrong, you know, it's like how thanks? But but yeah,
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: had the date go? It was good. We really clicked. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: but evidently all means you didn't. But maybe it's like
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: more of a puzzle piece. It clicks like they fit.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: But maybe that's what it's a it's not a car reference,
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: but it also opens up another cannon worms for me.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: When you have car problem and you're trying to verbalize
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: what the problem is. There's it's making a noise, you know,
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: like the fan belt or the rotors. You know, there's
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: different things in the car that go wrong, and then
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: you're trying to google accurately what the problem it's going
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: it's you know what that means that my biological clock
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: is ticked in like this, Yeah, I've been It's going
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: back to your thing about the friend thing, because I've
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: thought about this before too, because like a friend of mine,
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: I don't say he's a friend of me like you
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: would say, like you said he's a friend of Eric, right,
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: I wouldn't say he's a friend of me. I'd say
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: he's a friend of mine, possessive. So the friend of
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: Eric's kind of makes sense because it's it's it's but
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: what you're saying a friend of mine. But if that's right,
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: so you would have to say a friend of me,
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: I don't know. No, I don't know. A friend of mine.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: I think is fine. But I think the possessive is
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: the of But you say that implies possession, but mine
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: is possessive too, You see what I'm saying. Yeah, So,
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: like I said, I don't think it's wrong either. I
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: don't think it's wrong either way. If you want to
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: just cut a shot, you can say he's my friend.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: But that's the other thing is I think that a
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: lot of people like to say it the long way
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: because it makes it sound like it's more proper, when
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: most English people will tell you succinctness, the shorter, the
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: better brevity, right right, And you know there's a million
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: exist um. It drives me. You know, I have a
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: million of him in my head. Now. You watch a
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: baseball game and the announces in fairness, they have to
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: talk more than most play by play guys, and he
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: will throw him out. No, he just threw him out.
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: It's not going to happen. It's not in the future. Right,
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: Like there was a groundball to short, he threw it
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: to first. He's not and he will go down swinging. No,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: he already struck out right, you listen to baseball games.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: In every single Syracuse produced robot robot, we'll say it
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: the same way in the future tense. I have that
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: same pet peeve for newscasts, like if there's a car
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: accident on ninety five in the morning on the six
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: o'clock news, a car rolls over on ninety five. No,
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: it's not in the process of continuing to roll over,
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: rolled over past tense happened. It's more action if it's
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: in the present tense. But it's it's but it's inaccurate,
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: I know. But I hate that. I hate that. But
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: then they put it in the future tense in baseball.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: I'm telling you, listen to it, you'll never be able
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: to roll over. Right. You don't hear someone say that,
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: but it will. It'll stick with you and you'll hear
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: it every time now because I'll put that, just put
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: that bug in your ear. Baseball guys, and they always say,
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: you know, it's it's always off the glove of the
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: second basement. It's never off the second basement's glove. Like,
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: I don't know why you have to say it like that, right,
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: I think we talked about before. That leads me to
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: in La California. It's the four or five, the five,
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: the ten. Yeah, it's not the four ninety five here
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: or then that sounds so weird, like just take the
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: one twenty eight right, yeah right, but we don't do
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: the like you do. Yeah, the the or the freeway
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: lane dropped the lane dropped the freeway once and they're like,
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: where are you from? Like just by some freeway, isn't there?
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: Is there a pop song right now where they talk
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: about riding up the four or five or something? Well, yeah,
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: it's the five to ten that maybe we can remember
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: that from being lay every everything was the I like
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: that song, but no one doesn't. I don't take one spot.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: Yeah yeah right, it's the biggest hip, your hip, you
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: got the music, got the hips, Spin writes in Again,
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: he says, a pronunciate pronunciation off is in the planning stage.
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: I mean, I don't, did you hear me? You're gonna
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: need a judge. Pronunciation is in the planning stages because
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: you're gonna need to judge the world. You gotta have
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: a final because there's no like we're still trying to
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: figure No, it's what we say, it is, dude, it's
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: what we say it is. We need like a like
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: a linguist, you know, we need like like somebody with
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: a bow tie, some glasses, preferably somebody. We have a
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: lot of master debaters. Alright, alright, what that's my that's
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: my side of the street. It's actually Andy st Justin
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: writes in My question is, uh, if we bring back
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: the throwback uniforms this year occasionally and have a bad year,
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: does that taint the throwback uniforms? No? No, nope, it's
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: still the best at some people's eyes. I'm sure Will Well, Oh,
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: he's right, because in two thousand and two they were
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: all blue a couple times and lost, and that's why
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: everybody hates all blue. That's right, he's not. I mean,
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: I know exactly where the question comes. I remember they
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: wore those pewter or I think the silver the silver,
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: and it was because they look like dirty again that
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: they didn't wear him. But it didn't like them. I
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: like the lost too, they lost. I don't recall that.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: I think they did. Remember, Oh, Green Bay was a
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: monochrome game, wasn't it all that four game losing streak?
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: And O two had a couple of all blue games.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: Green Bay was definitely one of them. I think Denver
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: might have been two blue Oh well done due No,
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: but the silver one came. I don't think, I don't.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: I can't remember an important loss in the silver universe.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: It wasn't important. I remember it remember in the silver
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: like against Dallas Beati. I didn't like the silver though,
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: I don't awful exactly. I think I think that's why
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: they don't wear them, because they look bad, sucked. I'd
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: be less triggered by the red, and probably the helmet
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: would be more of of the red looks good, just
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: looks good. Justin also says I like the pat Patriot logo.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: But I'm with Fred. I also like the flying elvis
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: on a white helmet with the stripes down the middle.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: Good day, good good, good day. So I think we
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: should start all over again. New logo, new logo, new marks.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: Really well, so what the revs did right yet? Really
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: work well for them? Really? Or they haven't been playing well?
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: But no, But I'm saying, like I love you think
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: the American flag logo that this guy everything he doesn't
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: like any change? Do you think that logo could tell
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: me that's a good looking logo? Come on? Um, I
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: think it's a good logo except for the stripe down
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: the middle. Do you think that it's Yeah, I don't.
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: It looks like Ghostbust talks about that. Yeah, but I
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: would have no problems. I would have no problem without
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: that stripe. I really would boring. But do you think
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: that the REVS fans are UM arms while blaming the
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: uniforms because they are off to a bad stop. Yeah,
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: and they're all blue? Well they have they have many kids, right,
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: they have many The primary one is all blue, is it? Yeah?
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: What do you mean? You watch all the games on television?
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: I see all white ones? Are you are you? Are
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: you tuning out? No? I watch every game? Oh so
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: what has been the problem? Um, it's just I just
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: think they're off to a bad start. That one Weather
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: game was terrible. Uh, you know, Bow hasn't been in
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: UM books. Just got back that last Yeah, that last
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: that last game. Don't need to make any moves of
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: the deadline. Got some new guys. They did have some injuries.
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: Turner hasn't been playing. He's going to awesome and he out.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: He's out for good. I thought he was out. No,
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: Well he's gonna be out in July. Yeah, because they
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: you know, transferred, they transferred the out. He's hurt now, um,
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: so he could thought he was out. Oh yeah, yeah yeah,
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: so this and it just you know, I think they'll
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: eventually click. But that on all cylinders. Thank goodness. We
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: don't play in Colombia. Oh wow, that's an old reference. Yeah,
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: the two Escobars. Yeah, good. Thirty for thirty. By the way,
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: did you ever see that one? I have? Oh it's soccer,
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: that's right. I lost about It's an interesting story, but
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: I think that's the only thirty thirty I did see. Really,
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: you don't want one. I don't want thirty for thirties.
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: They were very well done. They're almost I know my
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: sons like he swore by them. They're very now. They're
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: very had, like the holes of the market, like they
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: sold in the bookstores, like ten locker from ESPN and
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: it had all the thirty for thirty DVDs in it,
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: like he had that, like he was into it. Why
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: is it called thirty for thirty. It was the thirtieth
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: anniversary of ESPN. They were going to do thirty document
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: thirty stories thirty years. Yeah, thank you, I'm glad I
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: asked that. Yeah, I always thought it was thirty minutes
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: until I watched the ESCO it was. I was stuck
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: in like a baseball reference, like he went thirty for thirty, Like, yeah,
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: they just continued because now it's a franchise, so it's
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: surrounded by abjecting confidence Bill and Vista California. It's either
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: Bill Vista in California or Bill and Vista California. Yeah,
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: there's definitely where where's that? I don't know, but it's
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: probably got a view. Thanks, good call, he says. Do
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: you guys see Brady playing a role in either coaching
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: or as an executive down the line? A few years ago,
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: I would say no, But now, seeing how he's having
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: a hard time walking away from the game, wouldn't be
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: surprised to see it happen. I know he's obviously still
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: playing at a high level. Just want to see him
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: coach a team and add to the ring collection. I
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: don't think there's any chance that he will ever coach.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: Ownership would be more like ownership or like an l
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: way like yeah, overseer or an organization. I can see that,
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: but mostly ownership. I don't see him doing the work.
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: I don't see him wanting to do that work, not
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: that he's not that he's lazy. I don't see him
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: wanting to do that. The only I don't think he
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: would find the juice in that. The only thing I
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: would wonder about him though, like would he be like
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: a Jerry Jones type owner, where like he's sitting up there,
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: you know how competitive he is? Yeah, if they start
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: doing badly, is he gonna be like pacing up and
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: down the suite. Is he gonna be going down to
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: the sideline at halftime getting in people's face and he's
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: like is he gonna be that kind of owner guys right?
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: Or is he gonna be like, just give me the pads,
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: I'll do it right, Like you're sixty, can still do
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: it better than you? What's what about your honor? Who's honor?
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: I just I think unfortunately this whole episodo with him.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: It's it just makes me believe that it's gonna have
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: to be taken from him, like his his playing days,
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: that he'll they'll have to be something that that forces
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: him to stop. I don't know. I don't know if
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: he'll stop now until he is forced. Yeah, Well, his
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: father kind of predicted that it wasn't going to be pretty.
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: It's just like that's what But I think he was
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: talking about Patriots, but he was right. Everything is also
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: about his career though, like he's like you said, they're
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: gonna have to take him off on a stretcher before
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: he's like see, I don't think that. I think when
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: he's not playing well in his mind, he will stop.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: But that's the thing in his mind. It might always
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: be somebody else who's causing him not to play well.
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: Do you think he will play badly in your mind
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: and not think that he's not playing well? Yes, I don't.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: I think if if everybody, Yeah, that's why. I think
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: if everybody's watching and say he can't play anymore, I
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: think he will have known that he can't play. Yeah,
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: I don't think it's a Willie May situation. But it's
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: like he's so exacting. It's unlike Brett Favre, who like
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: he's all over the place. He was a schoolyard player,
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: you know, and like you know, the way he plays,
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: it's like I'm still playing well, Like that interception wasn't
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: my fault, you know. Whereas Brady he knows he also,
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: like Farv was a like five didn't want to put
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: the work in. Yeah, Five just wanted to show up
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: and play. Brady wants to put the work in. That's why,
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: that's why five stopped. You're absolutely right, absolutely right, Yeah, yeah.
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: He wants a copper fit. He wanted a hunt and
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: drink buds. Right, what dogs ain't gonna hunt? Who doesn't?
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: Jack and Ann Arbor writes in pop ups, get in
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: the way, don't wear all carper fit, Like just walk in.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: I got all works? What am I? What do you
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: want me to say? I love copper, copper feel great? Jerry?
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: Right right, come on, old man, what are you doing
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: out there? Jack says uh. Devin Lloyd is not a
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: first round talent. At the Combine. He ran a four
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: six six forty, which ranked him sixteenth best. He was
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: also sixteenth best and vertical jump tenth best, and long
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: jump at sixty three and two thirty seven pounds. Lloyd
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: has good NFL size, but he does not have the
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: elite athleticism to justify using a first round pick on him.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: Can he play football? Can play football? Like those measurable
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: numbers like that? That's what I hate about the Combine.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: He had a guy either have to run forty yards
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: to make the tack right, a guy either sinks or rises,
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: you know, you know, unfairly because of what he did
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: at the Combine and just look at his tape. Can
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: he play football? And I don't know. Like I've said
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: this many times, I am not a guy that can
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: watch kids in college and say he will be able
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: to do this in the pros. There's always something that
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: the guy can't do that you don't know. Yeah, we're
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: not professional scout. I don't. I don't have that. And
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: to be honest with you, if the teams had it,
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: they wouldn't miss so many guys. But I watched that
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: guy play and I don't look at anything like four
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: to sixty six he can't like, that's pretty good for
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: inside linebacker to me, Yeah, I mean, there would the
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: balls going get there. There were fifteen inside linebackers that
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: ran better than four six forty fifteen. I'm not talking
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: about the edge guys, the edge guys that running four
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: threes like the receivers crazy, I'm not talking about them.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: There were fifteen inside linebackers of the combine that ran
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: better than four to six six. Yeah, And I mean
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: unless you I don't know if he even said it
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: was just inside linebackers. I think he just said sixteenth.
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: I don't even know what he's talking about. I assumed
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: he meant by I assumed he meant linebacker. Yeah, well,
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: but could be outside linebackers too. I don't know. It's
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: it's weird and the way they do the combat. Did
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: I not just say I'm not talking about the edge guys. No,
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: I know, but those outside linebackers. No, But I don't
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: know what he meant. I can't imagine that there were
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: sixteen Nakobe Dean's that ran better than four sixty inside
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: guys like I can't imagine there were fifteen other guys
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: that ran like that. It's also like, unless you're a
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: receiver on a go route on the outside, you're almost
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: never running full speed in a great line for that
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: long that your time is going to be. But it
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: shows you how athletic quick facts like I understand it's
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: a baseline, Like do you think like Tremaine, it's trem Edmonds, right, Tremaine,
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: that's the Buffalo Tremaine right number forty? Think he runs
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: a four six forty? I don't care. I'm gonna guess no.
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: I don't think so. He's a big guy. He yes. No,
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: he's a good player. He's a good player. Is he great? No?
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: But he's good and he could play inside because he's
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: fast enough, long enough, and he does a lot of things.
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: Cape cod look at the two Cape it is. I mean,
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: I think this time of year two people get obsessed
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: with the numbers because it's easy to stack and rank
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: guys by No, you know, and so you look at
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: the guys and some guys you'll you'll like, and you
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: watch him and wow, I enjoy watching this guy. You know,
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: um leoshanal is as another linebacker who's just was fun
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: to watch for me, like just an absolute beast on
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: the inside. I don't know how well he's going to translate,
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: but I know I liked watching him. All Right, that's
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: gonna be it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered. I
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: hope everyone has a good weekend watching Tiger Maybe we hope.
