- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, welcome to a brand new edition to the Get
- 0:17Speaker 1: Good to Know podcast. This week we're going to be
- 0:20Speaker 1: introducing your host that's going to be with you for
- 0:23Speaker 1: the rest of the ride.
- 0:24Speaker 2: This one is a really good one. She's awesome.
- 0:27Speaker 1: She's amazing. She's a person I met I want to
- 0:30Speaker 1: say three, four years ago, but I feel like I
- 0:33Speaker 1: know her forever. Everyone give a big round of applause
- 0:35Speaker 1: right now for Camille Waters, everybody.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Hi, everybody.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Right on.
- 0:42Speaker 1: So, Camille, let's just get to get to know you
- 0:45Speaker 1: really quick, too, because like this is going to be
- 0:47Speaker 1: your thing.
- 0:48Speaker 2: You're going to be taking it over.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Let's get let's get to know how you first came
- 0:52Speaker 1: in to coming into the mic drop.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Okay, well, I've been with Mic Drop since they first
- 0:58Speaker 3: started in San Diego. I just was always showing up
- 1:03Speaker 3: and showing up and showing up. Anything they did, I
- 1:05Speaker 3: loved the feel of the club. There wasn't a lot
- 1:09Speaker 3: of space for it. I started comedy as a mom
- 1:13Speaker 3: and wife in my 30s, and the San Diego scene
- 1:17Speaker 3: was a lot younger, and I didn't really feel a
- 1:21Speaker 3: home in San Diego comedy until I started going to
- 1:24Speaker 3: Mic Drop. And then I just kept showing up to
- 1:28Speaker 3: all their events, all of their workshops, all of their
- 1:30Speaker 3: writing courses, and just really got into it from there.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It's funny you said younger. I'm like, wow, you're young.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I was going to say, and so where was your
- 1:49Speaker 1: first get up on stage moment? Was it at the
- 1:51Speaker 1: mic drop or?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Um, my first, uh, get up on stage was, um,
- 1:55Speaker 3: at open mic at madhouse. Um, cause they had, they
- 2:00Speaker 3: used to run this open mic seven days a week.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And that was my first club that I used to
- 2:03Speaker 3: go up at.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Hmm. And then you said you were, uh, you were
- 2:07Speaker 2: a mom too. Uh, uh, how many kids?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Just one, just one baby girl. Uh, I started comedy
- 2:13Speaker 3: when she was like eight months. It was crazy. What?
- 2:17Speaker 3: Just a mom on a mission.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Um, I was going to say also too, like, and
- 2:24Speaker 1: you've always, are you, you always lived in San Diego?
- 2:26Speaker 1: You're from proper San Diego proper.
- 2:28Speaker 3: No, I'm actually from Maryland. I moved, I'm from Maryland.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I moved to California in 2016. I was in Joshua
- 2:37Speaker 3: tree for a little bit. And then I moved to
- 2:39Speaker 3: San Diego in a 2021.
- 2:42Speaker 2: That's crazy. What's Joshua tree like?
- 2:45Speaker 3: The desert. It is like the desert. If you, it's like,
- 2:49Speaker 3: if you've seen sand and, that's it that's about it
- 2:53Speaker 3: but it's nice but it's it's nice to visit it's
- 2:55Speaker 3: not really as fun to live.
- 2:58Speaker 1: There yeah because it's like all the concerts are always
- 3:00Speaker 1: over there right all like the coachella and stuff.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah it's near coachella and everything like that so it's
- 3:05Speaker 3: really fun the national park is beautiful the locals um
- 3:10Speaker 3: like art scene is great music is fun but it's
- 3:14Speaker 3: just it's not.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's hot all the time Yeah, I'm not good with
- 3:21Speaker 1: the heat, and I live out here in Vegas, so
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's like.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Right, I was about to say.
- 3:26Speaker 1: It's interesting, man. It's different, because I'm from California, so
- 3:30Speaker 1: it's like, you know, coming out here to the desert,
- 3:33Speaker 1: it's just a whole other beast, and it's extremely dry.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'd rather have dry, though, than humidity.
- 3:41Speaker 3: But that dry heat, it'll catch up to you. You
- 3:44Speaker 3: won't even realize how hot you are until you're like,
- 3:47Speaker 3: oh my gosh, I'm I'm a beef jerky.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Jerky. Well, that's so funny too. I didn't know you
- 3:55Speaker 1: were East coast kid. That's interesting. Yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So it's like, uh, so it must be much like,
- 4:01Speaker 1: like a much slower pace, especially on San Diego.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Uh yeah san diego was slower but i mean i
- 4:06Speaker 3: spent three years in joshua tree and that's as slow
- 4:09Speaker 3: as that's like very small town vibes so yeah it
- 4:12Speaker 3: was like at least san diego was faster than that
- 4:15Speaker 3: and i live in pasadena now so pretty much uh
- 4:18Speaker 3: la which is which is faster oh shit oh.
- 4:21Speaker 2: You're all the way up there uh.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Okay okay okay yeah yeah yeah shit Um, I was
- 4:27Speaker 1: going to say too, like, so you're talking about the, uh,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I was just saying about Coachella and stuff like that music.
- 4:32Speaker 2: What are, what music are you into right now?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Cause I know like after a while, like phases of
- 4:36Speaker 1: life changes and stuff like that.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Or what are you, what are you, what are you
- 4:39Speaker 2: into right now?
- 4:40Speaker 3: Right. I, um, I'm, I'm always into everything. Like I,
- 4:43Speaker 3: I'm not, I, I really don't have a, I have
- 4:46Speaker 3: music that I lean more to. Um, but I really
- 4:50Speaker 3: don't have like a one genre. That's like my only
- 4:53Speaker 3: go-to right now. I, I lean more into like alternative
- 4:57Speaker 3: R & B, like Steve Lacey, Frank Ocean. That's kind
- 5:03Speaker 3: of my vibe. But I mean, I'm always into trying
- 5:07Speaker 3: new things and listening to new albums. Since like Beyonce's
- 5:13Speaker 3: whole Cowboy Carter thing, I've been listening to more country,
- 5:16Speaker 3: like Black country artists has been fun. And I've also
- 5:20Speaker 3: kind of liked the little young pop girlies like Olivia Rodrigo.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I'm like, okay. I'll go for it. And so, yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 3: I'm kind of, I'm just, I'm, if it's, if it's
- 5:30Speaker 3: got a little bit of a bop to it, I'm
- 5:32Speaker 3: into it.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Frank Ocean.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Cause it's like, I really like Frank Ocean too, man.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It just, he hasn't, he hasn't dropped anything in such
- 5:39Speaker 1: a long time.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I mean, but as a Raiders fan, you know, sometimes
- 5:42Speaker 3: you just gotta have loyalty.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. For reals. No shit. I'm telling you. Uh,
- 5:48Speaker 2: we got, well, I'm excited. Cause, uh, they've got the
- 5:50Speaker 2: new coach. He just, he just announced.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I know. I saw that.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited.
- 5:55Speaker 1: And and then hopefully we get the first round pick.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I mean, I don't mind if we get rid of
- 5:59Speaker 1: the first round pick and get more picks.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I don't even care.
- 6:01Speaker 1: But I'm still welcoming Fernando and and you, your cousin.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I'm excited. I'm like, I'm all pumped up.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I know. I'm excited for him, too. It's it's been
- 6:11Speaker 3: amazing to watch him grow.
- 6:12Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And he's got a big Raiders nation.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Fuck, yeah. I mean, I guess I'm cussing, but heck, yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Because I was saying, it's so funny because you told
- 6:23Speaker 1: me that he was a cousin, too, and I had
- 6:25Speaker 1: known of him, and I was like, oh, yeah, no, Snowden,
- 6:28Speaker 1: he took down the QB and won us the game
- 6:30Speaker 1: against the Browns.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I was like, I know exactly who you're talking about.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And then now I pay even more attention, so it's like,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, he's getting more playing time, and I'm
- 6:36Speaker 1: always telling my wife.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I'm like, right there, him, him, him, him.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But, yeah, that's what's up.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Um, but no, uh, uh, just getting excited about that
- 6:45Speaker 1: and stuff. And, um, what else I'm going to ask
- 6:47Speaker 1: you too, I was going to ask you something else
- 6:48Speaker 1: about like, uh, okay.
- 6:50Speaker 2: So where you live, the music and the show. Oh, no, no.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I was just going to say about Frank Ocean also too,
- 6:53Speaker 1: that he, um, he doesn't have anything out. And, uh,
- 6:57Speaker 1: like I was scrolling on TikTok that he basically like
- 7:00Speaker 1: finessed the, um, the music industry. And that's probably why
- 7:02Speaker 1: he's not going to make any more music. He's like,
- 7:05Speaker 1: did you hear about that?
- 7:06Speaker 3: No, but I don't know if I want to know.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I don't need that today. Don't take nothing else from me.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I have hope that he's going to do something else.
- 7:18Speaker 3: But he hasn't really done anything in a long time.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I'm still hanging on to the first couple albums. But
- 7:26Speaker 3: there's this guy. He was in the band The Internet.
- 7:30Speaker 3: His name is Steve Lacey. He's really good. I've been
- 7:34Speaker 3: really into my Steve Lacey and then like Brent Faya.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And so there's like newer people coming out and doing
- 7:42Speaker 3: some more like, I say it's like R & B,
- 7:45Speaker 3: but like with a little bit of like, I don't know.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't say rock, but like emo to it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Emo R & B.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It's so hard to find new good music.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I was like, man, am I one of those people
- 8:01Speaker 1: that all my artists that I like are dead now? Right.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I've gotten to that point. So I'll go on TikTok, though,
- 8:09Speaker 1: and there are people that aren't even signed or anything
- 8:11Speaker 1: like that. They're just playing their piano or playing their
- 8:13Speaker 1: guitar and just doing acapella, and it sounds so good.
- 8:18Speaker 1: But sometimes when they get into the studio, it's like, oh,
- 8:20Speaker 1: you ruined it. It was really nice and pure. You
- 8:22Speaker 1: should have just kept going with that as opposed to
- 8:23Speaker 1: doing it now. adding too much noise, and I'm like, ugh.
- 8:27Speaker 1: There's this one country singer girl. She's dope. She did
- 8:33Speaker 1: this cover of fucking, you know, the lyrics are just like,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you can tell he's from Texas by the way he walks.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Or some shit. It's really good. I should send it
- 8:46Speaker 2: to you. I gotta figure out her name. I'll find it.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Anyways.
- 8:49Speaker 2: But yeah, so we'll.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Welcome to the, to pretty much what we're going to
- 8:55Speaker 1: be doing, the podcast and stuff like that of the,
- 8:57Speaker 1: the good to know.
- 8:58Speaker 2: So we got to this part right here, uh, get
- 8:59Speaker 2: to know. So we got to know you a little.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Bit and you're probably going to be divulging way more
- 9:03Speaker 1: and stuff like that over the weeks that are to come.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And then, so we're going to get to our second
- 9:07Speaker 1: part of the, of the show and it's, um, good
- 9:09Speaker 1: to know. And these are just going to be trivia questions.
- 9:11Speaker 1: They'll spark either conversation or whatever, whatnot. It doesn't necessarily,
- 9:15Speaker 1: it's just, it's just fun. It's just fun to always like, like, Oh,
- 9:18Speaker 1: I didn't know that. Or just trying to get in
- 9:20Speaker 1: semi-educated but these are all goofy questions anyways so it's
- 9:23Speaker 1: not like a test but um are you ready to play.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Oh good yeah as long as it long as it's
- 9:28Speaker 3: goofy to keep it keep this silly goose active you're
- 9:33Speaker 3: gonna start throwing multiplication questions at me i'm gonna be like.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Harlow sign up for this that's hella funny because jenny
- 9:40Speaker 1: uh uh who does the the sacramento podcast she um
- 9:43Speaker 1: She's big into math, and I sent these questions, and
- 9:47Speaker 1: she was like, there's no math questions? And I was like, no,
- 9:49Speaker 1: there's no fucking math questions.
- 9:50Speaker 2: What are you talking about? But, yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So this is week one, and we're going to go
- 9:55Speaker 1: week one. Every every, every podcast is going to do
- 9:58Speaker 1: week one. All the, everyone, every guest is going to
- 10:00Speaker 1: get the same questions in week two and so on
- 10:02Speaker 1: and so forth. So, uh, this is week one's question. Uh,
- 10:07Speaker 1: question number one, what is the largest organ in the
- 10:09Speaker 1: human body?
- 10:11Speaker 3: Skin.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Boom.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You're, you know, what's funny is like, you got, everyone's
- 10:15Speaker 1: getting it. And I'm like, dude, I, I, I could
- 10:17Speaker 1: not get it. I was like, I was like, what
- 10:19Speaker 1: the fuck is it?
- 10:20Speaker 3: I feel like I learned that on The Simpsons.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Really?
- 10:22Speaker 3: I feel like that was something on The Simpsons. That's
- 10:26Speaker 3: what I heard that on.
- 10:27Speaker 2: You can hear Nikki laughing. That's so funny.
- 10:28Speaker 3: It's like a random Simpsons trivia.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And then so number two.
- 10:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Let's see. By the way, Simpsons was my shit.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I love The Simpsons so much that I didn't like
- 10:41Speaker 1: Family Guy for the longest time.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Oh, I get that. I get that. But Family Guy
- 10:45Speaker 3: was great. American Dad, fantastic. I'm into all of it.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I didn't watch any of it. You know, I didn't
- 10:50Speaker 2: watch at all.
- 10:50Speaker 1: There was South Park because I liked it because I
- 10:52Speaker 1: was like so loyal to the Simpsons.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Once again, Raider fan loyal.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Carlos don't play about his loyalty.
- 10:59Speaker 2: He don't play about loyalty. I'm loyal to the logo.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And then, okay.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So question number two, how many sports teams does California have?
- 11:11Speaker 3: Ooh, a thousand, a billion, too many, so many for
- 11:16Speaker 3: no reason.
- 11:18Speaker 2: It's so crazy.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I'm going 32 because it's too much. And I can't even.
- 11:22Speaker 2: That's actually not a bad guess. That's not a bad guess.
- 11:26Speaker 2: The real answer is 21. Oh, OK. But it's pretty
- 11:30Speaker 2: up there. Like, yeah, they got too many, too many.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Every day.
- 11:33Speaker 1: The whole fucking state has like four teams each of
- 11:36Speaker 1: every in every professional sports just about.
- 11:38Speaker 2: All right. Here's a geography question. What's the capital of Florida?
- 11:47Speaker 3: Bath salts?
- 11:48Speaker 2: No. Incest?
- 11:54Speaker 3: Jacksonville?
- 11:56Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 11:57Speaker 2: It's so strange. It's Tallahassee.
- 12:00Speaker 3: I knew that. I think I knew that, too.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Okay, on to question number four. Oh, okay, this is actually,
- 12:09Speaker 1: of course you're going to know this one. The Mic
- 12:12Speaker 1: Drop Comedy Club is in association with what comedy festival?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Big Pine.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yeah. That's what's up.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Coming up, too.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Yeah, coming up.
- 12:25Speaker 3: April 8th through 11th. We are in there, baby. We
- 12:30Speaker 3: just finished the submission, so we're reviewing everything and finalizing
- 12:35Speaker 3: up the list. Super excited.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's in Chandler, yeah?
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yep, in Chandler, Arizona. Right at the mic drop. chandler
- 12:44Speaker 3: it's not even mic drop mania anymore double down really
- 12:47Speaker 3: it's mic drop chandler.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Like it i like the sound of it i think
- 12:52Speaker 1: i like that better than mania um uh so it
- 12:55Speaker 1: goes okay so here's uh we're halfway through so here's
- 12:57Speaker 1: question number five.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Is how many seasons of snl are there.
- 13:01Speaker 1: 50 oh very close very very close is it 51
- 13:06Speaker 1: yeah it's 51.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Oh did a new season just started.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess, I mean, we're in the 51st season
- 13:14Speaker 1: now because the anniversary was, like, last year when they
- 13:17Speaker 1: all had that party and shit, yeah.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Right. But, yeah, it's like, would you want to do SNL?
- 13:25Speaker 2: I would.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I would love to do SNL. I love the show.
- 13:30Speaker 3: It's also just such an iconic brand, you know? It's
- 13:35Speaker 3: launched so many careers. It's done so much for, like,
- 13:39Speaker 3: the visibility of standup comics, I would love it too.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Um, uh, yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Cause like, I know they hire you on for either
- 13:47Speaker 1: writer or player, sometimes both and stuff like that. So
- 13:49Speaker 1: it's like, it's one of those interesting things like, Oh man, um,
- 13:53Speaker 1: would I want to be, uh, would I want to
- 13:57Speaker 1: be the writer or a player?
- 13:58Speaker 2: What would you do? I mean, I know you would do,
- 14:01Speaker 2: we'd all love to do both, but if you had
- 14:02Speaker 2: to do only one. Ooh. Hmm.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I mean, I guess I would go player, but the
- 14:10Speaker 3: writer is also just such a great position. Like, I'm
- 14:15Speaker 3: saying player by, like, the smallest margin. I would love
- 14:21Speaker 3: to be a writer on SNL, but, I mean, being
- 14:23Speaker 3: a player would just be.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Crazy yeah just for the opening scene of just like
- 14:29Speaker 1: fucking and i like you drinking uh ordering coffee and
- 14:31Speaker 1: then popping off like hey camille waters.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Right right oh my gosh that was so crazy so cool.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Uh okay so uh number six question number six uh
- 14:43Speaker 1: name two branches of the government there's three.
- 14:46Speaker 3: So judicial yep legislative boom.
- 14:50Speaker 2: And for extra point can you get this the third one.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Hold on. Judicial, legislative, and then there's like....
- 14:59Speaker 2: The president's part of it.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Begins with an E. Oh, executive. There it goes. Look,
- 15:10Speaker 3: where is my fifth grade teacher? She needs to see this.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I'm going to send it to her. Guess what? I
- 15:14Speaker 3: still remember mostly.
- 15:16Speaker 2: She said geography and everything.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Sorry. Oh, here's an entertainment question.
- 15:25Speaker 2: What year did The Matrix debut?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Matrix.
- 15:32Speaker 1: 96?
- 15:35Speaker 2: Close. Close, close. It was 1999. Oh, okay. Okay.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Yeah, 1999 has had a ton. It's like one of
- 15:44Speaker 1: those great years in flicks. There were just tons of
- 15:47Speaker 1: shit that came out that year.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Yeah, because they thought everybody was going to die. It
- 15:50Speaker 3: was like, let's put all these out because we're about
- 15:53Speaker 3: to explode as a unit.
- 15:56Speaker 2: That's right. I forgot about the Y2K.
- 15:59Speaker 3: They were so serious about that. Looking back on stuff
- 16:02Speaker 3: and listening to music from 1999, people were really like, oh,
- 16:07Speaker 3: we're for real about to be done.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah, these computers are about to fuck us all up.
- 16:14Speaker 3: 2000, zero party over, oop, out of time.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Out of time. Yeah.
- 16:19Speaker 1: And then another scare happened in 2012 because they said
- 16:23Speaker 1: the Mayan calendar stopped.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh, right.
- 16:25Speaker 2: So that meant the end of the world.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And then they were like, oh, flip out about that.
- 16:28Speaker 1: You know what's funny is there's that movie 2012. And
- 16:31Speaker 1: I have a guilty pleasure on disaster movies.
- 16:38Speaker 2: They're terrible. I love to watch them. I don't know why. Yeah, like,
- 16:42Speaker 2: or what was that? San Andreas with The Rock.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And The Day After Tomorrow with Jake Gyllenhaal. And, like,
- 16:49Speaker 1: all these, like, tidal wave movies and shit.
- 16:53Speaker 3: It's so funny because, like, for, like, the 2012 thing, it's, like,
- 16:58Speaker 3: Ethiopia is on, like, 2016 like time is so not.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Real like like we're.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Like we've changed so many calendars and like i mean
- 17:10Speaker 3: it's 2012 in the u.s like that's a very like
- 17:13Speaker 3: a u.s thing like it's 2012 here and japan is
- 17:16Speaker 3: like year 4000 like let's the whole world's going in let's.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Figure it out Yeah, how big of an ego do
- 17:26Speaker 1: we have to be, like, on our watch?
- 17:28Speaker 2: It's our planet. Right, right.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Like, I mean, the same thing is like Super Bowl.
- 17:32Speaker 3: You're world champions. We are the only people that play
- 17:34Speaker 3: this sport.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah. The world is crazy. I don't remember you beating Australia.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:45Speaker 1: All right, so, all right, question number eight. What is
- 17:48Speaker 1: Tupac's first album?
- 17:51Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Ooh. You're trying to get me kicked out of California.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Because I don't know.
- 17:58Speaker 2: It's got a weird name. It's got a very weird name.
- 18:07Speaker 3: What if I just sing the lyrics to You Are Appreciated?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Can we do that? I really do not know. You
- 18:12Speaker 3: Are Appreciated.
- 18:15Speaker 2: You Are Appreciated. You Are Appreciated.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Dear mama dear okay dear mama yeah and i'm like
- 18:28Speaker 1: it's on that album too i think it's that's that's
- 18:30Speaker 1: on that album yeah yeah i don't know.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I have no idea and i feel like i'm gonna
- 18:34Speaker 3: say the wrong name which is gonna be even worse so.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna i think that album's me against the
- 18:40Speaker 1: world but the the very first album is uh tupacalypse.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Now i was never gonna get that i was I
- 18:49Speaker 3: think what I was going to say was going to
- 18:51Speaker 3: be like a Nas album, and I was like, then
- 18:52Speaker 3: I'm really getting kicked out.
- 18:56Speaker 2: For real. Let's see.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Okay, so the next one is, the next question is
- 19:03Speaker 1: number nine. Who is the host of The Price is Right?
- 19:08Speaker 3: Oh, currently? Is it Drew Carey?
- 19:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, right on, right on.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I thought, for the longest time, I totally forgot that
- 19:18Speaker 1: Bob Barker doesn't do it anymore.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I was like, Bob Barker? And they're like, no, no.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I'm like, dude, my grandma watches it all the time.
- 19:26Speaker 2: My grandma watches it all the time.
- 19:27Speaker 3: I love Bob Barker.
- 19:29Speaker 2: He's gone. He's been gone. I didn't know that he's
- 19:31Speaker 2: been gone that long, too.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I don't even know if he's dead. I think he's
- 19:33Speaker 1: alive still, though.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I'm not too sure. That's a good question.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I don't know if he's alive. I don't know if
- 19:42Speaker 3: that's the case.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I gotta Google that.
- 19:45Speaker 3: I know he's one of them dogs, spayed and neutered. Yeah,
- 19:48Speaker 3: Spayed and neutered. Bob Barker was not playing.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Cut them nuts.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Every episode.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Don't you forget about it either.
- 19:59Speaker 2: He's like, that's great. You got a trip to Japan,
- 20:00Speaker 2: but don't forget, ladies and gentlemen.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Cut them nuts.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Cut them nuts. That's how I'm going to end all
- 20:07Speaker 2: my sets from now on.
- 20:09Speaker 1: All right, y'all.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Cut them nuts. I'm out.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Okay, so this is the final Jeopardy question because it's
- 20:14Speaker 1: number 10. So you can wager points if you'd like.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Because right now you have five points. You have five
- 20:20Speaker 1: questions answered right. So if you'd like to wager any,
- 20:23Speaker 1: let me know.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Three points? Okay, so you're going to wager three points. Okay.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So Quentin Tarantino put out a top 10 or top
- 20:29Speaker 1: 20 of his favorite movies of all time. His favorite movies,
- 20:34Speaker 1: not his movies that are his favorite. Like what he likes.
- 20:38Speaker 1: do you know the number one movie that he picked
- 20:40Speaker 1: that was the best of the 20th century that he thinks?
- 20:44Speaker 3: Quentin Tarantino? What Quentin Tarantino thinks is the best movie
- 20:47Speaker 3: of the 20th century?
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 1: It was like a big-ass controversy because he was also
- 20:51Speaker 1: talking shit about a couple actors.
- 20:53Speaker 2: It was like a big old thing for a second.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I don't know. I think Quentin Tarantino would pick something
- 21:00Speaker 3: by Quentin Tarantino.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:02Speaker 3: You would think. Oh, it's not by Quentin Tarantino?
- 21:06Speaker 2: No, it's not even by him, yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 3: The biggest movie of the 20th century, according to Quentin Tarantino.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Did he do Pulp Fiction?
- 21:14Speaker 2: Yes.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Okay. I don't know Shrek.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I think Shrek is on it, too, but it's not.
- 21:24Speaker 3: It deserves to be, as it deserves to be.
- 21:26Speaker 2: They said, don't care.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Where it needs to be. Everybody's top 20. What's the answer?
- 21:34Speaker 2: The answer is A Black Hawk Down, which is so... What?
- 21:40Speaker 1: I'm not shitting on the military or nothing like that
- 21:42Speaker 1: by all means at all, but that's not even the
- 21:43Speaker 1: best military.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Movie of the 21st century. What? It was weird.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Everything about Quentin Tarantino is a little off. A little off-center.
- 21:59Speaker 2: You have a little Avengers book. What are you reading?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Oh, it's my, like, I'm getting ready for Doomsday, so
- 22:06Speaker 3: it's the ultimate character guide. My friend actually got it
- 22:10Speaker 3: for me because everybody knows I'm a nerd.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I've seen the, you've seen all four trailers
- 22:18Speaker 1: already or no? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, I'm into it. I'm doing a whole rewatch
- 22:24Speaker 3: before Doomsday. I'm watching all the movies. I'm going to
- 22:28Speaker 3: try to do all the shows, but then I'm also
- 22:30Speaker 3: going to try to get in some of the X-Men
- 22:32Speaker 3: stuff because the X-Men are going to be in it.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I'm very busy. Booked and busy this year with the
- 22:39Speaker 3: Avengers rewatch.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Nobody call me.
- 22:42Speaker 3: What are you doing Saturday? If it's not a show,
- 22:46Speaker 3: I'm watching the Avengers.
- 22:48Speaker 2: It's so funny.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Are you going to watch them because there's ways, you know,
- 22:51Speaker 1: the chronological way.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Or the way that they released?
- 22:54Speaker 3: I'm doing chronological.
- 22:55Speaker 2: OK, OK.
- 22:56Speaker 1: So it's like it's crazy because you've got to watch
- 22:58Speaker 1: like Captain America, Captain Marvel first.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Captain America, then Captain Marvel.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 3: But putting Captain Marvel so early was crazy for sure.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, yeah, because it's so it's like, oh, shit,
- 23:11Speaker 2: because it's like a 90s flick. So it's like, oh, well, well.
- 23:14Speaker 1: And it's so weird when you watch it, because it
- 23:16Speaker 1: was made so recent, and then Captain America was made
- 23:20Speaker 1: way back when.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And it's like, you can see. Yeah, it's so crazy.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Right. Also, because it's like those early Marvel movies, Marvel
- 23:30Speaker 3: really was doing good. The movies were doing good, but
- 23:33Speaker 3: you could tell that they didn't have the budget that
- 23:36Speaker 3: they have now, or the faith that they had now.
- 23:40Speaker 3: They kind of had to keep it basic, surface-level stuff.
- 23:45Speaker 3: everybody could enjoy comic book stories without taking it too
- 23:50Speaker 3: deep into the, like the lore of like the Marvel characters.
- 23:53Speaker 3: So they couldn't really like, they had to dumb down
- 23:57Speaker 3: and explain like exactly what's happening with each character. But
- 24:00Speaker 3: like now by the end game, it's like, by like
- 24:03Speaker 3: Infinity Wars, it's like, baby, you need to know who
- 24:05Speaker 3: these people are. We're not going, they're going to walk
- 24:06Speaker 3: in a room and you need to see, you need
- 24:08Speaker 3: to see Black Widow and know that that's Black Widow
- 24:11Speaker 3: and not be anywhere confused. Like don't come in here
- 24:14Speaker 3: asking questions.
- 24:15Speaker 2: That's Black Widow, not Black Cat. Come on, she's not
- 24:17Speaker 2: here yet.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Right, right. And you know why she's looking at him
- 24:22Speaker 3: like that and know why he's looking at her like
- 24:24Speaker 3: that and know why everybody is awkward in this room. Yeah.
- 24:28Speaker 1: It's so interesting because Iron Man is essentially the very
- 24:34Speaker 1: first one that was released. And it was, it's pretty
- 24:37Speaker 1: much an independent film because there was no Marvel Studios
- 24:40Speaker 1: back then.
- 24:40Speaker 2: There was no, you know, Disney didn't buy them up yet.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I don't think, I think.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Disney bought them up like maybe five or six films in.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:46Speaker 1: That's when they finally bought them all. So it's like, yeah,
- 24:50Speaker 1: it's Jon Favreau just, you know, like, oh, he just,
- 24:52Speaker 1: he made Iron.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Man and it's fucking dope. And it's really crazy. So good.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Like I said, with a little, with a small budget.
- 24:58Speaker 1: So it's like, you know, it's almost like that less
- 25:00Speaker 1: is more.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Type of thing where it's like, oh, it's almost it's
- 25:04Speaker 1: it's yes, there's CGI, but it does have a lot
- 25:07Speaker 1: of base in reality.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And and not even the poop on Eternals, because I
- 25:12Speaker 3: feel like everybody always poops on Eternals. But like just
- 25:15Speaker 3: like comparatively, the story and the feeling and the vibe
- 25:18Speaker 3: that you get from Iron Man with the budget that
- 25:20Speaker 3: you have for Iron Man and the story and the
- 25:22Speaker 3: feeling and everything that you get from the Eternals with
- 25:24Speaker 3: their huge budget. It's like.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like. It's like, man, this is this
- 25:32Speaker 1: is taking this a long ass walk.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:35Speaker 3: This is a long walk. And Tony Stark built this
- 25:37Speaker 3: in a cave, you know, like.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Such a good.
- 25:41Speaker 1: And then I'm hearing rumblings that Edward Norton might come
- 25:45Speaker 1: back as the Hulk.
- 25:46Speaker 3: I've heard that, too. But I mean, I've heard that, too.
- 25:49Speaker 3: And I mean, I'm I'm. down for variance but don't
- 25:54Speaker 3: you replace my sweet baby mark ruffalo don't you don't
- 25:58Speaker 3: you get your hands off of him.
- 26:01Speaker 1: It was so um it's so funny because like uh
- 26:04Speaker 1: i i really liked even like deadpool like i liked
- 26:07Speaker 1: deadpool the first one but then i just stopped liking
- 26:10Speaker 1: after the second one it got too much of like
- 26:12Speaker 1: you're kind of irritating me now you get the tongue
- 26:14Speaker 1: in cheek and it's it's overkill And then, uh, but
- 26:17Speaker 1: the Deadpool three, I just was excited. I was happy
- 26:19Speaker 1: to see, cause I, I heard that, you know, they're
- 26:21Speaker 1: going to bring characters back. And I was like, this
- 26:23Speaker 1: is all I want. And it was, it was, it
- 26:25Speaker 1: was so, it was so good for having to see
- 26:27Speaker 1: people back. And, uh, I shouldn't, I mean, it's not
- 26:30Speaker 1: spoiling cause it's been out for a fucking while, but like, uh,
- 26:32Speaker 1: when blade came through, I was like, fuck yes. And
- 26:38Speaker 1: then I was like, wait a minute. And as I
- 26:39Speaker 1: was watching, I was like, wait a minute, these pools
- 26:40Speaker 1: don't like each other. Like, They got into it on
- 26:43Speaker 1: the set of Blade III, you know, because they were
- 26:45Speaker 1: on Blade III together and there was.
- 26:47Speaker 2: This big old, you know, thing about how.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, they didn't get like... He did not like Ryan Reynolds.
- 26:54Speaker 2: They were not... They had... They butt heads. But then
- 26:56Speaker 2: everyone was butting heads with Wesley Snipes at that time.
- 26:59Speaker 2: And then... But no, it was interesting. I was like, oh, shit.
- 27:02Speaker 2: But I guess they must have buried the hatchet and
- 27:03Speaker 2: made this film.
- 27:04Speaker 1: And then the whole inside baseball with Channing Tatum being Gambit.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Gambit.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Cause he's, he tried to make that movie for the
- 27:13Speaker 1: longest time and it kept failing and it's like.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Oh shit. And it was, it was, it was good
- 27:18Speaker 2: for that. It's like, I'm geeking out now. I'm all
- 27:19Speaker 2: fucking out. I just realized the book and I'm like, Hey,
- 27:23Speaker 2: I love it.
- 27:24Speaker 3: I love it. No, no, no. Fair.
- 27:26Speaker 2: But yeah. Okay.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Well, I mean, well, this is the podcast and this
- 27:28Speaker 1: is how it goes about. And so, um, if anything
- 27:31Speaker 1: else you want to give a shout out to, uh,
- 27:33Speaker 1: like where are you going to be at soon or
- 27:35Speaker 1: anything like that? Or, you know, just, you know, get
- 27:37Speaker 1: to know, yeah, it was, it was a get to know,
- 27:39Speaker 1: good to know and got to go.
- 27:40Speaker 3: So, yeah, I mean, definitely shout out Mike drop. We
- 27:44Speaker 3: have some really cool things coming up. Obviously this Plano
- 27:48Speaker 3: podcast is going to be so much fun, but we

- 28:25Speaker 3: the look at beyond the lookout for comedy camp, beyond
- 28:27Speaker 3: the lookout for big pine, big pine is going to
- 28:30Speaker 3: be the next month. Uh, big pines in April. So
- 28:33Speaker 3: the eighth through 11th, we're going to be doing workshops
- 28:35Speaker 3: there that are some workshops are going to be open
- 28:37Speaker 3: to comics that aren't on the festival. And then we'll
- 28:40Speaker 3: be having shows. It's going to be a good time.
- 28:42Speaker 3: It's always a ton, a ton, a ton of fun.

- 28:59Speaker 3: stuff in June. And our new club is opening up.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Our new club is opening up next week in February. Oh, nice.
- 29:06Speaker 2: That's right. In Detroit.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Might drop Detroit.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Motor City.
- 29:09Speaker 2: We are in there.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So, we got a lot of things going on. So,
- 29:13Speaker 3: I mean, I wouldn't say this is like the bottom five.
- 29:17Speaker 3: like started from the bottom floor, but I mean, it's
- 29:19Speaker 3: a good time to get in with the mic drops.
- 29:21Speaker 3: That's all I'm going to say. If you try to
- 29:23Speaker 3: get in with a crew that's winning, it's a good
- 29:25Speaker 3: time to get on the winning team.
- 29:27Speaker 2: You hear me?
- 29:30Speaker 1: Your podcast, this is going to be your baby now
- 29:32Speaker 1: and you are, yeah, you're going to be dropping every Tuesday.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So that's how we got it going. So, all right,
- 29:38Speaker 1: right on.
- 29:39Speaker 3: All right. Well, thank you.
