  Speaker A: Foreign.

Speaker B: Thanks for tuning in to the undercuts review of the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. Please rate, review and subscribe wherever you listen and enjoy the show.
• 0:20
Speaker A: By being a racing driver, you are.
• 0:22
Speaker B: Under risk all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people.
• 0:29
Speaker A: And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver.
• 0:33
Speaker B: All right, Martin, So the Canadian Grand Prix, one that you have been to many times. A few times with Nick also. But, you know, we've seen lots of crazy crashes here. Great racing here. I mean, obviously, I think it was the Jensen button, like going back to last place and then winning the race in like a four or five hour window. That was called, like the. I don't remember what it was called. Like some very dramatized name for it, but lots of history here.
• 1:08
Speaker A: Yes. Yeah, yeah, no, yeah, great. A great race. Probably the closest to it. We're based in the northeast of America, so the closest for us to go to. Yeah, Great city, easy to get in and out of the circuit. Yeah, great. Great place to go.
• 1:24
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:25
Speaker A: And I mean this race this week, not. Probably not one of the classics, but, you know, not a huge amount of action except for the crash at the end between the two McLarens. But a great race for Russell and a great race for Mercedes, right? They're a win by Russell and he. I'm not saying he made it look easy, but a great drive, like a great qualifying and then a great drive on Sunday. He never really looked flustered.
• 1:54
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it looked like they were like Max was potentially coming back, but then the team told him and he just put the gas on and just pulled away again. So.
• 2:03
Speaker A: Yeah. Is it, Is it, Is it like upgrades? Is it like he likes this track, right? Russell, he was on pole here last year, so.
• 2:13
  Speaker B: That's Right.
• 2:14
Speaker A: Clearly this is a good track for him, which probably counts for something if you've got confidence.
• 2:19
Speaker B: I mean, we've seen lots of drivers have consistent success here, right? Like Lewis won here like four years in a row or something like that.
• 2:28
Speaker A: Yeah, it was his first win, Right? Yeah.
• 2:33
Speaker B: So that must mean something, right, that you have to kind of learn something.
• 2:37
Speaker A: But the, I mean, the Mercedes has definitely improved because, you know, Kimmy, Kimmy was right up there too, right? Yeah, along with max. And the McLarens have just sort of drifted, drifted back. Right. Just drifted off the pace a little bit. I still, it still looks to me a little bit like Piastri's like clearly the best driver at McLaren at the moment. And Lando's still, like, over driving a little bit on the qualifying, and he's not giving himself a chance. Yeah, he qualifies. Yeah. Well, it kills you now. I mean, it seems crazy, but what, two, three years ago, Verstappen was so dominant. He was starting, like, 12th on the grid due to some crazy qualifying hiccup, and we would still predict him to go on and win the race. Passing people left and right. Now these cars are getting so evenly matched. If you're qualifying, like, sixth or seventh, you're just stuck. You really are. And that just seemed to be the case today.
• 3:40
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it did seem. Because I know Lando, and I think Charles was the other one that started on hard tires.
• 3:47
  Speaker A: Right.
• 3:48
Speaker B: And it did seem to work for him because he was definitely, at least in the stint when him and Oscar. Well, when Lando crashed into the back of Oscar. I shouldn't say they crashed. Lando crashed into him.
• 4:01
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 4:01
Speaker B: But Lando did seem faster. And that's why I said, like, in our chat, I think that I probably would have done worse if Lando hadn't crashed out, because I had Oscar right in that spot. And I think that Lando would have gotten by him eventually if he hadn't destroyed his car.
• 4:15
  Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
• 4:17
Speaker B: Because, I mean, strategy was good.
• 4:18
Speaker A: The strategy was good. And it makes sense if you qualify down. Down there and down there, as in, like I said, seventh place, which isn't really that far down. But if you're going for the win, you've got to go for the alternate strategy. You've got to do something different and hope that either, you know, just through luck or safety cars or whatever, it might play. Play into your hands. Clearly, in this particular race, the soft tire was. Nobody wanted to be on that. It was just the hard and the medium. So everybody started on the medium, except for, I think, as you said, Leclair and Norris in the top 10.
• 4:57
Speaker B: In the top drivers.
• 4:58
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, exactly. So a smart approach. And, yeah, they. They stayed out longer. And the mediums went off super fast, it seemed. Yeah, because what. Verstappen came in. Verstappen was about to be overtaken by Antonelli.
• 5:13
  Speaker B: Yeah, he was.
• 5:15
Speaker A: Because what? And, yeah, because Antonelli got a great start from fourth, overtook Piastri to go to third, and then they were running Russell Verstappen, Antonelli, Piastri for a while.
• 5:27
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 5:27
Speaker A: But Kimmy was. Kimmy was closing in on Max. And right around, like, lap 12, I think Minva Stappen came in. Kimmy was just rich. You're gonna overtake him.
• 5:35
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 5:36
Speaker A: So he came in, but that just showed the pace of. Of the Mercedes. Yeah. And that just triggered a whole bunch of the medium guys came in to. To switch to the hard tire. But, yeah, ultimately, leclair and. And Norris were leading. Leading the race.
• 5:57
  Speaker B: Right.
• 5:57
Speaker A: Although technically, we. We knew that with all the pit stops unwinding, but you never know. Right. You can once.
• 6:05
  Speaker B: Absolutely.
• 6:06
Speaker A: With safety cars and. And. And whatever, but, yeah, go for it. Well, I was just gonna say, come the end of the race with Norris on the. He was. Well, he. He was back on the hards at that point, but he was on younger hards than.
• 6:25
Speaker B: He had two sets of. Or I guess you only get one set of meat of hard tires. Right. And then you get, like, a new. New set for the race.
• 6:33
Speaker A: But, yeah, I don't know. But, yeah, he. He had two new sets of hards for the race. Norris and then a new set of mediums in the middle. He. He went hard, medium, hard, whereas leclerc went hard, hard, medium, which I thought was the one wrong way around to do it. If you go at least medium after the hard, then you can see what happens, but you're locked into doing another pit stop if. If you're leclerc because you have to switch compounds.
• 7:00
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 7:00
Speaker A: I mean, you expect it to happen, but maybe give yourself an opportunity. I don't know.
• 7:04
Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Charles wasn't happy with how long they waited to ultimately put him onto the medium tire, I guess. Did he go all the way until. I guess he didn't go all the way until the safety car in the end.
• 7:19
Speaker A: He must have. No, no. He. He switched on, like, lap 53.
• 7:23
  Speaker B: Okay.
• 7:24
Speaker A: Norris. Because he went hard, hard. Norris had already switched on lap 47 to the hard tire, and actually Piastri put his hard Tire on 45. So Norris's tires were only a couple of laps younger. So really, when they were battling in the lap in the 60s, what 66 is, when they actually were battling, the tires were of similar age. So Norris definitely had his pace.
• 7:49
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 7:50
Speaker A: Had Piastri's number. I mean, it looked great at that point. We had all top six coming real close.
• 7:59
Speaker B: Yeah. I think at one point, Brundle said that the top five or six were within five seconds of each other with like, 10 or less laps to go. Like, it was. It was crazy.
• 8:11
Speaker A: Yeah. I can't think of a time, actually. Right. Top top five, because the Ferraris were further back, but. Yeah, right. The two McLarens, the two Mercedes and Passage. But yeah, yeah. But no, nobody was putting moves on anybody except, except the McLarens.
• 8:27
  Speaker B: Right.
• 8:27
Speaker A: Giving Zach Brown and everybody an absolute heart attack. But great, great racing. Good to see that. You know, Lando, I mean, what, what happened. Talk, talk us through it. From what, what you saw and what.
• 8:44
Speaker B: You were feeling, it's just typical Lando at this point. He, in the car, he doesn't think or he, he just gets flustered and does something crazy that messes something up and he. There was not even close to enough room there. It wasn't even close. It.
• 9:02
Speaker A: Yeah, that, that move at the end, it was. He was on the wrong side of the piastre on the wrong side of the track, and it wasn't like Piastri squeezed him out. It's just kind of like, that's the, the track kind of naturally curves to the right, so you run out of room on the left. Yeah. So, yeah, but it, it was a, it all started way back on the hairpin. Right. It was a lunge by Lando up the inside, which I think caught Piastre unawares.
• 9:32
Speaker B: Yeah. Although he did like pull it around under him, so I think he did at least like figure it out pretty quickly and found a way to counter it out. But, yeah, it did seem like he caught him off guard a bit.
• 9:41
Speaker A: They, they did a bit of a switcheroo. But then going down that straight after the hairpin, Lando was on the outside and he was actually, he actually pulled ahead by about half a car length, but he seemed to break. Piastri was on the inside bit. Lado seemed to break very early. Yeah, I don't know if it's just because, I mean that, I mean, that's a scary chicane to go through side by side with somebody. There's no room at all. Yeah, he's probably going to think, he's probably thinking, I'm going to end up cutting the chicane, putting myself way back. I can't do that. So he, he, he broke earlier, but tucked in nicely right behind Piastri and then he was quicker again coming down the start finish straight. But yeah, just chose, just chose the wrong side to go on. If he could have somehow maneuvered himself again, it would have put him on the outside. He was going for the inside of the corner, I guess the first corner, but yeah, he would have had to go around the outside. There was obviously plenty of room over there.
• 10:41
Speaker B: But yeah, it should have never even gotten to that point, though. Those back markers should have just gotten out of the way earlier and then Oster could have gotten by. What's his name, Kimmy. Although he wasn't able to even put a move on Kimmy. Kimmy was placing it perfectly.
• 10:59
Speaker A: Yeah, Kimmy. Kimmy. I mean, all those three guys that ultimately finished 1, 2, 3. Russell was happening. Kimmy. I mean, Kimmy made his move right off the start line.
• 11:09
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 11:10
Speaker A: And. And got it done so great for him. And that. That got him the podium and they were never really troubled. But yeah, Lando, ultimately, I mean, Mercedes, sorry, McLaren kind of got away with it a bit because it could have taken both cars out easily. But in the end, it was just Lando. His front wing came off. He smashed up the front left corner of his car, and that was. That was the end of it. They did. They did bring Piastri in under the safety car because they had plenty of space back to the Ferrari. So he put on soft tires, I guess, on the off chance there was like one lap or a puncture. Yeah, I guess. Yeah.
• 11:55
Speaker B: Of course, Lando crashing into him.
• 11:57
Speaker A: Allah, you know, Allah Abu Dhabi, you know, when, you know, Verstappen overtook Hamilton on. On new tires. Yeah. If Piastri was on new ties, he could have had a shot at Antonella if he got maybe one lap. But.
• 12:12
Speaker B: Yeah, I wonder. I wonder if they told Lando. I mean, he did react fairly quickly after he crashed into him, so who knows? But just think, if he had tried to, like, get to a runoff area or somewhere out of the way where it might not have necessarily been a full safety car.
• 12:32
  Speaker A: Right.
• 12:33
Speaker B: And then Oscar could have. But if he had gotten a puncture from Lando crashing into him, I don't.
• 12:43
Speaker A: I don't think he had a. Yeah, I don't think he had enough. I think he only had a safety car window for pit stop. He didn't have a full racing window for a pit stop. Back to the Ferraris. I think it was only like 14 seconds or so, but, yeah, Lando's car, it wasn't. I don't think it was going anywhere. The front left was disconnected. You. You can't. You can't.
• 13:04
Speaker B: But after seeing Pierre was at the last race when he went like all the way around the track on the floor of the car. I mean, who knows what these cars can do.
• 13:13
Speaker A: Yeah, they seem to be built tough. I mean, Albon. Albon took his car in the very first lap. Right. He took it off road and bouncing all.
• 13:24
Speaker B: He went all fours off the ground.
• 13:26
Speaker A: It did. He got. Got airborne on his car right. On the first lap. So that I Mean, he just had a horrible race, didn't he, Albon?
• 13:34
Speaker B: Yeah. Bad weekend. I mean, not all his fault, but, I mean, his car exploded essentially during qualifying.
• 13:43
Speaker A: That's crazy that that came off and they were able to just put a new back on, a new shroud back on. Did they have to replace the rear wing as well, or was that fine? I don't even know. Maybe they did, but, yeah, I'm not.
• 13:55
Speaker B: Sure if it was the ring, the wing, it couldn't have been. Right. Because that must take way too long. And.
• 14:01
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, it must be both bolted on so tightly. Yeah. But they slipped on a new shroud, and he was good to go.
• 14:09
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 14:10
Speaker A: But, yeah, he. He was pretty angry. What he got on the radio at one point, Albon saying, you guys don't even listen to me. It's pissing me off, or something like that.
• 14:18
Speaker B: It's the sign of a frustrated driver.
• 14:20
Speaker A: Yeah. Leclair. Leclair was pretty frustrated on the radio, too.
• 14:24
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 14:25
Speaker A: We're talking about what tire strategy to use and moving things around a little bit. Yeah, Questioning. Questioning the team.
• 14:35
Speaker B: Yeah, it's tough. It's tough because the. Obviously, the driver's the only one that knows what the car feels like, and the strategy guys can see more than the drivers can see. But, yeah, I mean, it's. It's a tough choice to make.
• 14:51
Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, then further down, I mean, Alonso had a wacky race, Right. He was sort of up there. He qualified high, and then at one point, he was way down in the order, almost dead last, and then fought his way all the way back to.
• 15:08
Speaker B: I guess, six or seven.
• 15:11
Speaker A: Yeah. With Lando retiring. Yeah. He ended up, like, seventh, so. Yeah. Great. Great race for him. The mate is. Is Aston Martin back. I know. I'm always predicting that they're gonna do well because of AD Adrian Newey. I usually just want them to do well, but he was getting a lot out of that car today.
• 15:29
Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, a couple guys had incredible races that were. I was not expecting, obviously, Alonzo, now 2, he went. I don't know. I can't even remember how many races were in at this point, but no points. But all those races up until the last race with no points, and now that's two races in a row where he points.
• 15:47
Speaker A: So, I mean, same with Hulkenberg, too.
• 15:50
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 15:50
Speaker A: He finished an eighth right behind Alonzo. And of course, these guys talking about strategies went completely different. They went one stoppers. I don't know if people even really noticed with all the action up front, Hulkenberg Just went medium tires, changed them on lap 19 and then he drove 51 laps. Jeez. On those hards, which can't have been easy. And then Ocon and Ses, who rounded out the top 10, did the reverse strategy where they drove 57 laps, both of them on hards, and then switched to mediums at the end. So they just. I mean, you just gotta look after your tires. One mistake. If you're trying to do that kind of strategy, one mistake early on and you get a flat spot on your tire and you're gonna hang out there for another 30 laps. Yeah, it take. Takes a lot out of you. But yeah, all these guys lower down were doing like one stoppers. Baerman, one. One stop. Tsunoda as well. One stop. Jalapeno, Forte, Gasly, all of them. Just. Just one stop.
• 16:51
Speaker B: Yeah, well, I guess, you know, if they all do that, that's why only a few of them were able to score points because they're all on the same strategy.
• 16:59
Speaker A: But still, I mean, wasn't the fastest. Yeah.
• 17:02
Speaker B: Yeah, but Carlos, like you said, I mean, he started I think P17 or something like that. I mean, I think it ended up being maybe P16 with Yuki.
• 17:11
Speaker A: Right? Yeah. Getting the great drive. Yeah. Did he ever. He had one moment, I think at the hairpin, didn't he, Carlos? I think it was him. Not album where he sort of locked up and nearly slid into Portoletto in front of.
• 17:24
Speaker B: Yeah, oh, yeah, that's right. I knew it was a green car.
• 17:26
Speaker A: Yeah. It's nice to see the Salvas becoming relevant.
• 17:33
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 17:34
Speaker A: Hulkenberg scoring points. I mean, Bortoletto hasn't yet, but they're not just tooting around in dead last, you know, like they were last year with Joe and others.
• 17:42
Speaker B: Well, it seems every team that has Andreas Seidl and then gets rid of him does way better afterwards because like McLaren was horrendous. And then we finally get rid of this guy and now look where we are now. Zaber gets rid of him. Look where they are.
• 18:01
Speaker A: Baby lets his. Is that his role? You make people better by. By leaving.
• 18:06
Speaker B: Yeah, I guess so.
• 18:08
Speaker A: It's because what you've taught them. Yeah, I don't know. But yeah, go. I mean, going back to. Going back to Lando. He. He owned the move, right. He immediately on the radio. Yeah, my fault. Sorry, guys. So that's, you know, very mature of him. You know, he didn't necessarily have to do that. It's something slightly surprising, especially coming from race car drivers where they're always click quick to blame other people. You know, you push me off the track, you give me enough room, all this kind of stuff.
• 18:43
Speaker B: So they do seem to really respect each other, the two McLaren drivers.
• 18:48
Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. Which is nice, but it's got a. Lando's got to feel it slipping away a little bit now.
• 18:59
Speaker B: His, his gap to Oscar ahead of him double more than doubled with what happened in this race. So what is it? I think Oscar had a 10 point lead. Now he's up 22 to Lando in second. Max obviously gained a little bit, but they're still pretty far behind. Did you see those odds that Google's AI oh, yeah, spout it out for me. It seems shocking to me that Lando only has a. In terms of Google's AI Lando only has a 10 and a half percent chance of winning the championship where Oscar's at 44, almost 45 and Max is.
• 19:42
Speaker A: At 40 and George Russell is at nearly 30, 28% more than Lando. George, that. This is. I don't, I, I do, I'm a big AI fan. I do like AI I've been playing with it a lot this week actually. I'm a coder. There's one of my jobs and it's extremely helpful. But I can't say George has got a better chance of winning, almost triple the chance of winning the championship than Lando. That doesn't make any sense.
• 20:10
Speaker B: But I mean it is coming right off of his first win of the season. So I guess that kind of like boosts it a bit. But I mean it, yeah, it's not.
• 20:18
Speaker A: I mean it's not impossible for sure. And if this is the shape of things to come, if Mercedes really have improved that much and they are comparable, you know, now you've got three teams that are fighting together. Yeah, Ferrari seems to have dropped. Dropped off a little bit, but. Or at least two and a half teams if you count Max and not Yuki, unfortunately. Or old Yuki. But yeah, I mean it's a. This is probably shaping up to be the best or most competitive season at the front anyway we've had for a long time for. Yeah, the 80s. Well, it's hard, it's hard to. It's hard to beat out. You know, the Verstappen Hamilton season finale when they were both tied going into the last. But there's. We thought this was just going to be Oscar versus Lando, but it doesn't look that like anymore. Max is. He's found something and yeah, don't count, don't count George out. Don't count Mercedes out.
• 21:25
Speaker B: I mean we still have, we're not even halfway through the season yet and the top four are only. I mean it seems like a lot but 65 points apart between the top four. You know, Oscar D DNFs in one of the races coming up in those three all getting on the podium.
• 21:44
Speaker A: Yeah. 25 points for a win right at the moment.
• 21:47
Speaker B: Right. Like let's say George wins the next one, Max gets second and, and Lando gets third. Then every, it's, it's like they're, they're right on top of each other at that point.
• 22:01
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. No, so still a lot of racing to go.
• 22:05
Speaker B: Yeah. It could, it could be a crazy end of the season but I mean we've essentially gone through all of the highlights because there were not many in the race. I mean we've gone through most of the winners on the, on the, on the day I guess really there are only a couple losers obviously. Lando. Not much we can add to that.
• 22:27
Speaker A: Yeah, Lando Albon. I mean Stroll. Stroll, yeah. He ended up pushing, not giving. Unlike the, the piastri Lando incident where that's just kind of like driver error by Lando. Yeah. Stroll just moved across on ghastly as he was coming up the outside and just gate didn't give him the room he should have done. Pushed him onto the grass. Got himself a 10 second, 10 second penalty. So he ended up basically dead last. Yeah, I think Stroll at the end of the day, I mean. Yeah, he was dead last.
• 23:05
Speaker B: I mean except for the two guys that didn't finish I guess.
• 23:08
Speaker A: Or three guys. Yeah, guys. Three guys. Yeah. Lawson Albon and Norris Lawson they just retired the car to protect the power unit apparently which is a bit weird because they made so many changes to that car. Right. He got 50 spot grid penalty.
• 23:23
Speaker B: Yeah. It's a brand new power unit. So I mean I guess that makes sense.
• 23:26
Speaker A: I guess if they, yeah. They need to use it for multiple races. But yeah, yeah. Stroll in his quote unquote home Grand Prix. Not really, not really doing it for his home fans.
• 23:38
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean I, like I said we talked about it before we started the, the pod but it just seems to me that Stroll is so disengaged. I mean he was at his home race and he just didn't, he wasn't, he didn't seem enthusiastic in anything. Like whenever anybody came up to talk to him he was not excited about the race. I think he's done. I really do. I think that he is just checked out at this Point. And if he even makes it the whole season, I think this is it for him.
• 24:05
Speaker A: I mean, especially if. I mean, if Alonso is, you know, getting this much out of the car and Stroll isn't. There's got to be, you know, a younger driver that he can give a chance to, but there's no. No guarantees. Right. I mean, we all. We've all agreed that we all owe Perez an apology for how much he got out of that at Red Bull the last few years when we all thought he should be challenging Max. And now it's clear that nobody can challenge.
• 24:32
  Speaker B: Apparently not in.
• 24:33
Speaker A: In these cars, so. Yeah, but Stroll just doesn't seem to be that guy. They. He was, I mean, not dropped for the last race, but they had him sit out due to, you know, medical issues, supposedly. Yeah, supposed. Alleged medical issues. That could have been a ruse for something. But he's back. Back for this race. I guess we'll see what happens. Who's there? Is Djokovic, their reserve driver?
• 24:57
Speaker B: I think he still is. Yeah.
• 24:59
Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, a lot of these guys were at Le Mans this weekend.
• 25:02
  Speaker B: That's right.
• 25:02
Speaker A: Right. So who. Who won? Who won? Lemon? It was an ex Formula one driver. It was one of the Ferrari guys, I think, that won.
• 25:11
Speaker B: Was it. What's his name? Jova? Jovanazzi?
• 25:14
  Speaker A: No, Antonio.
• 25:15
Speaker B: He won the last two.
• 25:17
Speaker A: No, I think he was commented. Was he even driving Antonio?
• 25:21
Speaker B: Yeah, I think so. I thought he was still with Ferrari.
• 25:24
Speaker A: Yeah, maybe. I think Ferrari dominated Le Mans this weekend. I don't know. I'm gonna go watch all the highlights.
• 25:29
Speaker B: Yeah. I've only watched the first couple hours of it. I don't think I'm gonna be able to watch the whole thing. I mean, it's gonna take me like, a week to be able.
• 25:36
Speaker A: Oh, okay. I've got spoilers. No.
• 25:39
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it's fine. I'm gonna figure it out anyway. But I know that when I was watching, at least the po, it was the Porsches were doing really well, and the Cadillacs were doing real well. And the Ferraris, obviously were doing well as well.
• 25:53
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 25:54
Speaker B: Yeah. It's a tough race to follow.
• 25:56
Speaker A: Yeah. I mean. Yeah, it's so much going on.
• 26:00
Speaker B: I mean, how many cars are on the track at one time for Le Mans? It's like a hundred cars.
• 26:05
Speaker A: Different. Different speeds, different classes.
• 26:07
Speaker B: They'd like a pro am division. What does that even mean? Do they just have, like, celebrities out there on the track with all of these professional drivers? Because that seems really dangerous.
• 26:19
Speaker A: We're outside of my comfort Zone right now. I have no idea. I'd just be making it up. Anywho, two weeks. Two weeks now till Austria.
• 26:28
  Speaker B: What's next?
• 26:29
Speaker A: Austria. Austria. And then back to. Back to Great Britain.
• 26:36
Speaker B: Oh, nice. So that'll be good. I mean Max has done very well at Austria. I think Lando won last year.
• 26:45
Speaker A: Did he? But yeah, usually massive turnout for the Red Bulls obviously, but their home, home race for the Red Bulls.
• 26:52
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 26:52
Speaker A: And then a lot of Dutch people there. A lot of Dutch people. And then we love to see, yeah, the Brits doing well in Great Britain, you know. Yeah. You know, Russell and Lando Hamilton Lewis.
• 27:06
Speaker B: Can do it again. He won last year. Right.
• 27:09
Speaker A: That was awesome. Doesn't looks like it's a long way off at the moment, but you never know, you know.
• 27:15
Speaker B: Did last year too. It did not look like that was any chance of him winning that race.
• 27:20
Speaker A: So it's right around this, this time last year where things started to turn for everybody else. Right. Where the max dominance kind of faded and people started to close the gap. Lando to close the gap. So yeah, we've seen, we've seen it already. There's still improvements to be made. Cars are still. Performance is still changing.
• 27:40
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 27:41
Speaker A: Who knows? But yeah, as much as this race didn't have too much overtaking, it does show that these cars are much more evenly balanced now. So these drivers are under a lot more pressure to perform and like making qualifying that much more important and yeah. Yeah. How you doing the race?
• 27:58
Speaker B: Well, I think that's pretty much it for the race. Which brings us to Coops F1.
• 28:04
Speaker A: Coops F1. Yeah. So another great week from you. Jason holding on to top spot. Just about barely. Aheatley moved up a couple of spots into second and Nick dropped down into third overall. But you've got a 40 point cushion there at the top of the standings. Top scores this week, Louie Gooey. I feel like I've mentioned Louis Gooey.
• 28:28
Speaker B: Before so many times.
• 28:30
Speaker A: Yeah. How come they're not. Are they in the top 10? Not in the top 10.
• 28:35
Speaker B: You know, sporadic wins there.
• 28:38
Speaker A: Yeah. And Phil, JS and DWC Racing rounding out the top three scores this week. Slightly lower scores this week as. As you expect, especially when one of the biggest big six cars that drops out. So everybody gets shuffled around a little bit. Of course.
• 28:58
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 28:59
Speaker A: I don't know how many people had Russell to win. I could look up the stats. Not many.
• 29:02
Speaker B: I had him in second.
• 29:04
  Speaker A: Oh, that's great.
• 29:05
  Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
• 29:05
Speaker A: I, I went with Alonso up there so he got me a Couple of points. Yeah, I had him in the top 10.
• 29:11
Speaker B: Yeah, I had him in the top 10 as well.
• 29:13
Speaker A: Yeah. But everybody's still sticking with Oscar to win these races and.
• 29:16
  Speaker B: Right.
• 29:18
Speaker A: Maybe. Maybe next time we're going to see something a little different.
• 29:21
Speaker B: I picked Lando to win, so that wasn't great.
• 29:24
Speaker A: Yeah, he seems a long. He just seems a long way away from when he's got to work through a few things. Lando.
• 29:30
Speaker B: Yeah. Well, in practice, during all the practice sessions, Oscar looked lost.
• 29:34
  Speaker A: Right.
• 29:35
Speaker B: I mean, he couldn't break the top seven during, like, the first two and a half practice sessions. I think he kind of got an okay lap at the end of FP3, but I think this is the first race of the season that no McLaren has been on the podium also, so.
• 29:51
Speaker A: Yeah, I think that's. I think. I don't know. That's true, but that sounds about right. Yeah. Yeah. Cool.
• 29:58
Speaker B: So that'll probably. That's probably a large. A large reason to. Why the scores were so diminished this week.
• 30:04
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
• 30:07
Speaker B: He has to give up the corner. I had the nose ahead.
• 30:10
Speaker A: What is wrong with these people?
