- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And then this episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:48created for a client that was very successful, had managed to
- 0:54retire early, had a very incredible life in terms of
- 1:00freedom and choices, got to travel a lot, do a lot of
- 1:04skiing, quite athletic even being in there, you know, close
- 1:10to 60 years old. They were very, very physically
- 1:14capable and yet didn't evaluate themselves in the same way.
- 1:19Very critical of themselves, very harsh in terms of their
- 1:24evaluations, focused on what wasn't well in their life rather
- 1:29than all the good things that were.
- 1:31And this in a dialogue, was almost kind of like an abusive
- 1:34bully trying to kind of knock their confidence, trying to talk
- 1:38them down, trying to make them feel bad about themselves.
- 1:42So what you're going to hear in this hypnosis session is a
- 1:46metaphor that uses a ship, and it uses a ship in the sense that
- 1:51most people get the idea that there's a captain on the ship,
- 1:54but if the captain loses authority, then the crew can
- 1:58start taking over. You can have these mutinies.
- 2:01And that's kind of what happened here, where the inner dialogue
- 2:05was more influential over this individual's life than their own
- 2:11sense of self. And that wasn't doing them any
- 2:14favours. So this uses this idea of a ship
- 2:18to represent this idea of, let's say, dissenting voices, but also
- 2:24a metaphor of challenging the playground bully, the archetype
- 2:29of the abuser that can keep pushing and pushing until you
- 2:35stand up to them. You've got that element going
- 2:38on, but also that they get to see themselves how someone else
- 2:44that was looking at their positive qualities would see in
- 2:48order to reactivate that feeling of self worth and then future
- 2:52pace that. And I think this is going to be
- 2:54useful. At the time I published that
- 2:56it's I think the day before Chris, New Year's Eve.
- 2:59So this is going to be quite good because there will be
- 3:03someone listening to this that also has some form of inner
- 3:08dialogue that's talking them down, says they won't achieve or
- 3:12amount to much. And that's a good thing to make
- 3:16that change now right before a brand new year.
- 3:20So think of how you want your life to be.
- 3:24Think of this ship sailing in a particular destination or
- 3:28direction. The direction will be your
- 3:30intentions, the destination will be whatever you measure success,
- 3:35whatever you want your future to be like.
- 3:38And perhaps that dissenting voice isn't in a dialogue.
- 3:42Or it could be someone that exists in real life.
- 3:45Maybe it's someone else that you need to stand up to.
- 3:48You know, a partner that no longer values you, or a
- 3:51friendship that no longer serves you.
- 3:54Allow it to be whatever is going to be useful for you.
- 3:58And as always, this session was created as a result of a real
- 4:03client session. Not all of these suggestions are
- 4:05going to fit with you and your life and your situation.
- 4:08So if you do like the idea of working with me directly, of
- 4:12having a one to one session, have a little look in the show
- 4:15notes. If you're listening on Spotify
- 4:17or Apple Podcasts, there will be some little dots or more info.
- 4:21You can have a look at the notes connected to the episode and
- 4:25there should be a link there that enables you to book a free
- 4:2830 minute consultation call to Exlore working with me directly.
- 4:32For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:34won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:25Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in a
- 5:34slow, long, relaxing breath of resourcefulness.
- 5:41And as you exhale, feel a wonderful sense that any tension
- 5:51and stress you can feel in your body is starting to melt away
- 5:57and just leave in that outward breath.
- 6:06Breathing in that slow, long, relaxing breath, you start to
- 6:12notice clues. Clues of tension blocks.
- 6:22I want you to get a sense that those blocks are starting to
- 6:28open. Tension is melting away as you
- 6:35give permission to start to go deeper and deeper relaxed.
- 6:51With your eyes closed, notice how much more attention you can
- 6:57give to the sound of my voice. Breathing in and breathing out.
- 7:07Continuing to let go of tension, stress, or any worries,
- 7:12particularly those that are weighing on you, and with each
- 7:17breath feel yourself sinking deeper into a state of calm and
- 7:24peace. And maybe you could imagine a
- 7:28wave of relaxation starting at the very top of your head,
- 7:36rippling and trickling down down your forehead, your cheeks, into
- 7:42your jaw, down your neck and your shoulders, going all the
- 7:48way down your arms into your fingers.
- 7:52Feeling this wave of relaxation just take you deeper and deeper,
- 7:59relaxed. Feel it continue down into your
- 8:05torso, release any anxiety there in the gut.
- 8:11Feel your chest loosen so you're breathing deeper effortlessly.
- 8:19The ripple of relaxation continues down your legs, all
- 8:23the way down, deep down to the very tips of your toes.
- 8:31With every breath, you go deeper into this relaxed state,
- 8:37allowing the outside world to just fade away, leaving you here
- 8:44in this moment, safe and secure. And as you relax more deeply,
- 8:53you begin to feel a growing sense of curiosity about the
- 9:00journey we're about to take. A journey into your true worth,
- 9:07your true power and your true self.
- 9:15I want you to use the power of your imagination to imagine a
- 9:22beautiful old fashioned ship. The kind of ships that would
- 9:28have been sailing 200 years ago across the oceans around the
- 9:35Caribbean. Big sails, a mast, a crow's nest
- 9:44to look for land, wooden decks, big wooden steering wheel.
- 9:52But imagine this beautiful ship sailing on calm open waters.
- 10:00And let's just imagine that this is the ship of your life.
- 10:07And imagine that you are it's captain.
- 10:12And for a moment, notice how the ship responds to the gentle
- 10:18waves, how it glides forward with strength and purpose.
- 10:25This ship is your ship. It has always been yours.
- 10:33And today, we're going to take full command of this ship.
- 10:44As you stand at the helm of this ship, imagine there is a voice.
- 10:51A voice that's been trying to take control.
- 10:56A critical, mutinous voice. This voice has always been
- 11:02critical, harsh, even abusive, whispering doubts, shouts,
- 11:11insults, and tries to steer your ship away from where you want it
- 11:17to go. And this voice might feel
- 11:22familiar, but today you will face it.
- 11:28You will stand up to it. As you listen to this voice,
- 11:36imagine it now, not as part of you, but it's a figure.
- 11:46And maybe it's the archetype of a schoolyard bully, perhaps a
- 11:53father figure, someone standing in front of you, sneering,
- 11:59taunting, trying to push your buttons.
- 12:05And they have been successful in the past.
- 12:09They've intimidated you, coerced you, controlled you, made you
- 12:14doubt yourself for far too long. And this figure has had that
- 12:22power for too long. But not anymore, because today
- 12:30you take back your power. Imagine yourself now strong and
- 12:42steady on the dock of that ship, looking this bully straight in
- 12:51the eyes, no longer fearing their words.
- 12:58Their words don't sting anymore. You know they've been trying to
- 13:04manipulate you all this time, but enough is enough.
- 13:14As you imagine staring them in the eye, notice how your
- 13:19confidence begins to rise. They've been gaslighting you for
- 13:25years. Not anymore.
- 13:30You start to see yourself as good, as strong, as confident,
- 13:37as worthy. Imagine yourself standing
- 13:42taller, your shoulders back, your head held high.
- 13:47And now imagine what it feels like to draw on your inner
- 13:53strength and punch the representation of that voice
- 14:02right in the nose. Feel a sense that you are
- 14:10establishing a new dynamic. You've drawn a line in the sand.
- 14:17Never again feel the power of that moment as you take back
- 14:27control, as you establish a new dynamic where you are the
- 14:34leader, the captain, the one who decides how your life will be.
- 14:46Feel the silence that follows the bully.
- 14:52The abuser has been put in their place and see them try to use
- 14:59their same tricks, but their words have no sting anymore.
- 15:06Their harsh criticisms have no power.
- 15:11In fact, the harder they try to make you feel bad and worthless,
- 15:16the more you realise it just doesn't work anymore.
- 15:20Because now you are free to steer your ship in any direction
- 15:28you choose. As the captain of your ship,
- 15:36take a moment to reflect on everything that makes you
- 15:42uniquely you. Imagine you were looking at
- 15:49yourself through the eyes of someone who truly admires you.
- 15:55Maybe a previous relationship or a future relationship.
- 16:01Someone who loves and values every part of who you are.
- 16:08Put yourself in their body, seeing you standing on that
- 16:11ship. What do they see?
- 16:17They see your strengths, your kindness, your resilience.
- 16:26They admire your accomplishments, the things
- 16:31you've overcome, the dreams you are working towards, your
- 16:38physical prowess and abilities. And they see the way you make
- 16:45others feel, your youthful spirit, the laughter you bring,
- 16:53the love you share. They see your determination,
- 16:59your desire to improve and grow and develop, your creativity,
- 17:06your compassion. See yourself as they see you,
- 17:15and let yourself feel their admiration now as if it's a warm
- 17:21light shining down on you. And as you bask in this light,
- 17:28you begin to realize that you would rather be yourself, with
- 17:34all your qualities and uniqueness than anyone else on
- 17:39the planet. You want to be you.
- 17:45There is no one else who can be you.
- 17:48No one else has gone on your path, done what you've done,
- 17:52experience what you've experienced, and no one else can
- 17:57offer what you offer. As you hold on to this feeling
- 18:05of self worth, imagine planting a flag at the top of the mast of
- 18:11your ship. This flag represents your
- 18:15commitment to yourself, to value and appreciate who you are.
- 18:22It's a symbol of your leadership, your strength, and
- 18:28your decision to be the captain of your own life, the master of
- 18:35your own destiny. And whenever you hear that
- 18:41critical voice again, remember that bully.
- 18:47Remember how you stood up to it. Feel the strength of that moment
- 18:53and know that you can silence it any time you choose.
- 19:00Or maybe be playful with him, curious.
- 19:04Coax it into finding the Nuggets of gold.
- 19:09The 1% is actually useful because you are the captain now
- 19:17and you steer this ship where you want it to go and maybe you
- 19:25have a destination in mind. If the ship is your life, the
- 19:31future is a destination. Think of where you'd like to be
- 19:36a year or two and imagine seeing you living that life, full of
- 19:45self acceptance, self love, self worth.
- 19:51See that version of you being given compliments and receiving
- 19:57them well, with gratitude, genuineness.
- 20:07Maybe you see yourself in a loving relationship that feels
- 20:11fulfilling, and as you observe that version of you feel that of
- 20:18course you deserve it. It makes sense.
- 20:25That you're happy in your future because you deserve it.
- 20:34As you get a glimpse of that future, you realise that there
- 20:41are many different destinations that this ship could be sailed
- 20:44to. But think about how the early
- 20:49explorers found new lands by intending to go to one place and
- 20:58unexpectedly finding somewhere completely different.
- 21:04Set your intentions, but be open to the magic that life has in
- 21:11store to steer you in wonderful, unexpected new places.
- 21:22It's now time to return back to the here and now, feeling like a
- 21:28shift has taken place. Something's changed.
- 21:35You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, and maybe a
- 21:39change has taken place that can't be undone.
- 21:44And as you hold that thought, take a deep breath in through
- 21:47your nose and out through your nose.
- 21:53Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 21:55Connect fully into the here and now as I now count from 1:00 to
- 22:0010:00 to awaken you. Starting to count. 123 waking
- 22:08up. 456, more alert. 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 22:14Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
