- 0:00Carmen Lezeth: Welcome to All About the Joy.
- 0:02Carmen Lezeth: I am so glad to have my friends in the neighborhood, woo Woo.
- 0:06Carmen Lezeth: So let me say hi first to Joy.
- 0:09Carmen Lezeth: Thank you for joining us.
- 0:11Carmen Lezeth: I'm so glad that you're here, Andrea.
- 0:13Carmen Lezeth: As always, Cynthia, I got much love for you and Rick, you always here, so don't matter, no, I love you, Rick.
- 0:20Cynthia Lopez: I'm so glad you do.
- 0:21Carmen Lezeth: So today I wanted to do a little something different.
- 0:25Carmen Lezeth: All of you were going to bring questions and kind of throw it your way to kind of run the place.
- 0:31Carmen Lezeth: But I do have a couple of announcements I want to make first.
- 0:35Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, can you just double check that we are live, because I don't see the live button on.
- 0:42Joy Gouge: I know you just went live on Facebook.
- 0:44Cynthia Lopez: Yeah, I see the live button.
- 0:46Rick Costa: Yeah, and LinkedIn said we were live too.
- 0:48Carmen Lezeth: OK, great, ok, great.
- 0:49Carmen Lezeth: So one of the things I want to announce is next Thursday we have our regular show.
- 0:54Carmen Lezeth: It'll be me and Rick.
- 0:55Carmen Lezeth: We're going to have our conversations.
- 0:57Carmen Lezeth: We might have a guest stop in, but on Friday at 6 PM it's going to be I'm going to call it the collab of late nightparentscom and all about thejoycom.
- 1:12Carmen Lezeth: Folks are going to be battling it out and we're going to be on my platform, but Ted Hicks will be hosting it.
- 1:19Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to be very quiet.
- 1:21Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to be very quiet because, if not, it's just going to be me and Brian fighting.
- 1:27Carmen Lezeth: Mark your calendars.
- 1:28Carmen Lezeth: I'll send out a reminder tomorrow, friday 6 PM, don't forget.
- 1:32Carmen Lezeth: We'll be here Thursday as well.
- 1:33Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia will be here, andrea will be here.
- 1:35Carmen Lezeth: Joy, are you coming?
- 1:36Carmen Lezeth: I'll try to say yeah, ok, ok, I didn't know if you even knew because I haven't been able to talk to you on the down low, on the private.
- 1:46Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so it's next Friday night, 6 PM Pacific time, and it should be fun.
- 1:51Carmen Lezeth: I think there's going to be about 10 of us on, so we'll see how that goes, and Ted Hicks will be monitoring.
- 1:57Carmen Lezeth: I'm just being clear.
- 1:58Carmen Lezeth: I will not be moderating.
- 2:01Rick Costa: That's going to be wild.
- 2:03Carmen Lezeth: That is going to be a lot.
- 2:04Carmen Lezeth: The only thing I want to do is I want to give a shout out to Christy Cottovan I'm not saying his name correctly, but last week and I can't believe this, but it is the highest listen to episode so far is with Joel Lava, which is really weird, because the other one was Juliana.
- 2:24Carmen Lezeth: So I'm going to have to get Juliana back on because she losing her, but it was so hard because there were so many issues with his internet, so it was really hard for me.
- 2:34Carmen Lezeth: So I had to call in reinforcement and he's in London and he did it overnight and it wasn't perfect, but it was better than what I was able to do and I just want to say thank you to him because it was just such a kind thing.
- 2:49Carmen Lezeth: He's a great editor and I would love to thank at some point I could hire him on a regular basis because it would just make my life easier.
- 2:56Carmen Lezeth: But shout out to him.
- 2:58Carmen Lezeth: So OK, with that said, I'm going to let it go.
- 3:01Carmen Lezeth: I don't know who wants to go first, but it is turn the tables Thursday.
- 3:05Carmen Lezeth: So, cynthia, you seem like you're ready.
- 3:10Cynthia Lopez: Oh, yes, I have questions.
- 3:13Carmen Lezeth: OK, we ready.
- 3:14Carmen Lezeth: Tell us who you want to answer first.
- 3:17Carmen Lezeth: You went to ours, ok.
- 3:19Cynthia Lopez: Do you feel that you are young at heart or an old soul?
- 3:24Cynthia Lopez: I'll go with joy first.
- 3:29Joy Gouge: Oh, I definitely feel like I'm young at heart.
- 3:31Joy Gouge: Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 3:35Joy Gouge: OK but why?
- 3:35Joy Gouge: Why?
- 3:37Joy Gouge: Yeah, oh, my gosh One, I've always loved to play, not just no, I'm not talking about just with kids.
- 3:48Joy Gouge: I mean, yeah, I'll get down on the floor with a kid and we can play all day, but I just enjoy having fun.
- 3:55Joy Gouge: I enjoy life.
- 3:57Joy Gouge: I enjoy every day because I know, especially even from, like, oh gosh, 16, 17 years ago, for three and a half years I didn't know if I was going to live from week to week, and so I really started to enjoy life.
- 4:23Carmen Lezeth: Wait, do you want to explain that or not?
- 4:25Carmen Lezeth: You don't have to, but that's deep.
- 4:27Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 4:27Carmen Lezeth: That's a little bit deep.
- 4:29Joy Gouge: Yeah, In 2003, for whatever reason the doctors don't know why I had uncontrollable asthma and for three and a half years I was at the doctors or in the hospital every week for three and a half years, Wow, and the doctors describe it as wildly out of control.
- 4:55Joy Gouge: I was allergic to a lot of the different asthma medications OK, so that didn't really be controlled by that.
- 5:06Joy Gouge: And for three and a half years I was on very high doses of steroids and that started the weight gain.
- 5:14Joy Gouge: That started just all kinds of crazy stuff when you're on steroids.
- 5:20Joy Gouge: I mean the osteoporosis or osteoporosis or osteopinia.
- 5:24Joy Gouge: So it was just kind of a snowball.
- 5:28Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so you were just in a bad space health-wise and you thought it was near the end or something.
- 5:37Carmen Lezeth: You thought there was a possibility.
- 5:40Joy Gouge: Oh yeah, there was several times.
- 5:41Joy Gouge: I've even had a doctor yell at me saying people die every day with asthma.
- 5:46Joy Gouge: I didn't want to be in the hospital again, and there was one night in particular.
- 5:53Joy Gouge: I was laying in the hospital.
- 5:55Joy Gouge: I'd been admitted again and I had IVs in both arms, oxygen on, and it was probably about 3 o'clock in the morning.
- 6:03Joy Gouge: Now it was just I just don't want to cry.
- 6:06Joy Gouge: I was laying there and it was just like a realization came over me that I'm still here.
- 6:15Joy Gouge: Yes, I may be wired up in IVs and drugs going through the IVs, but I'm still here.
- 6:25Joy Gouge: Yes, you are, and there was a purpose.
- 6:29Cynthia Lopez: Yeah.
- 6:30Joy Gouge: But after three and a half years I actually started doing better.
- 6:34Joy Gouge: The doctors don't know why it was starting to come back in control.
- 6:38Joy Gouge: Wow.
- 6:40Cynthia Lopez: That's crazy.
- 6:41Carmen Lezeth: That is amazing too, right.
- 6:44Joy Gouge: Yeah.
- 6:47Carmen Lezeth: So you're a child at heart and it's because I think we can clearly see that you are very happy with every day that you've had since that scare.
- 6:58Carmen Lezeth: I mean that's beautiful.
- 7:00Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh, yeah, wow, go ahead, cynthia, I'm sorry.
- 7:05Cynthia Lopez: I can't help it.
- 7:05Cynthia Lopez: You know it's no show.
- 7:07Carmen Lezeth: I'm always hosted.
- 7:08Carmen Lezeth: I got to ask the follow-up.
- 7:11Cynthia Lopez: All right, Andrea, how about you I?
- 7:14Andrea Shields Nunez: don't know.
- 7:14Andrea Shields Nunez: I think a little bit of both, which is sort of a cop out.
- 7:21Carmen Lezeth: But I know.
- 7:24Andrea Shields Nunez: My first thought was child at heart, because I think of myself as kind of immature.
- 7:28Andrea Shields Nunez: And then I was like, well, as I was hearing Joy talk about it, I'm not terribly playful and those kinds of things, but I do like I don't know and I think of an old soul.
- 7:43Andrea Shields Nunez: I think about someone who thinks about things deeply and tries to know a lot of things, and I like that too.
- 7:53Carmen Lezeth: So I don't know You're an old soul, I'm just telling you what you are oh yeah, maybe you should be answering these questions for us.
- 8:02Andrea Shields Nunez: But yeah, I was going to say I lean more child at heart.
- 8:06Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, and as I get older I certainly want to cultivate that more.
- 8:13Andrea Shields Nunez: You know what I mean.
- 8:14Andrea Shields Nunez: I'm already going to be older, so I may as well try to bring in some of the joy of being a child and having less responsibilities and all that kind of stuff.
- 8:28Carmen Lezeth: So yeah, I guess it's there.
- 8:31Cynthia Lopez: I guess, Whatever Rick, how about you?
- 8:36Rick Costa: Always been a mix because, like, all right, let's say, we go to a gathering at all ages, what always happens I end up with all the kids, why, I don't know, they gravitate towards me, I don't know.
- 8:50Rick Costa: And I'm like, ok, and they're like where's Rick?
- 8:52Rick Costa: You know where Rick is Like it's like he always in a with kids.
- 8:55Joy Gouge: I don't know why.
- 8:56Rick Costa: But then at the same time, I'm like, I also feel like I'm old, soulish too, because it's like I'm a deep thinker, I'm observer and I don't know.
- 9:06Rick Costa: It's like, I feel like I'm a mix.
- 9:09Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, you want me to?
- 9:10Rick Costa: answer it.
- 9:11Carmen Lezeth: You want to ask me a sec.
- 9:13Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 9:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't think I could be an old soul, because I feel like that has more wisdom than I have.
- 9:18Carmen Lezeth: I just don't think I'm that deep or that brilliant of a.
- 9:21Carmen Lezeth: Do you know what I mean Like old soul to me?
- 9:23Carmen Lezeth: Like, when I think of people who are old souls, I think of, like Maya Angelou, misha Reston-Page, or people who are, like, really smart and really deep.
- 9:34Carmen Lezeth: I'm not that person.
- 9:35Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if I'm a kid at heart, though, either.
- 9:37Carmen Lezeth: I feel like I'm not.
- 9:40Andrea Shields Nunez: Are you both.
- 9:41Andrea Shields Nunez: For you, maya, I'm not saying I'm either I'm saying I'm, either no.
- 9:48Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm not saying I'm both.
- 9:51Carmen Lezeth: I'm actually saying the opposite.
- 9:52Carmen Lezeth: I don't think I'm either you know what I mean Like maybe that's a cop out, but I'm just being honest, as I'm saying it, like I feel, you know, like I just had this huge conversation today with somebody at work and I felt so mean and horrible, and I had.
- 10:11Carmen Lezeth: It was actually I had to be professional and mature about it.
- 10:13Carmen Lezeth: Right, and it's a hard thing to do, but I'm so good at it and it's such a level of maturity and experience to be able to tell someone in their late 60s, early 70s, to calm the F down.
- 10:28Carmen Lezeth: The world is not falling apart because you don't have your Bentley cleaned or whatever the hell was going on.
- 10:33Rick Costa: You know what I?
- 10:34Carmen Lezeth: mean, it was something as frivolous as that, you know.
- 10:36Carmen Lezeth: So I don't see myself as either one of those.
- 10:39Carmen Lezeth: I don't.
- 10:41Carmen Lezeth: I think I'm just like boring, normal human being just trying to make it each day.
- 10:46Carmen Lezeth: That's what.
- 10:47Carmen Lezeth: I see You're like a teenager I'm a teenager right, cynthia, but what about you?
- 10:53Cynthia Lopez: Oh, I'm a big kid.
- 10:55Carmen Lezeth: I know I was going to say I helped you with confusion.
- 10:57Carmen Lezeth: You have confusion, like I would tell you.
- 11:00Cynthia Lopez: I am a big kid, especially when it comes to Disney.
- 11:04Cynthia Lopez: I am like five years old when you talk about Disney.
- 11:09Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you are obsessed with Disney, like Rick is with Marvel.
- 11:12Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I am, that's so cool.
- 11:16Carmen Lezeth: Well, that was a good question.
- 11:17Carmen Lezeth: You have more I do.
- 11:19Carmen Lezeth: Should we go ahead?
- 11:20Carmen Lezeth: Oh, go ahead, man Go ahead.
- 11:25Cynthia Lopez: Let's see I have four, but I'm going to pick.
- 11:29Carmen Lezeth: Is it as deep as that?
- 11:31Cynthia Lopez: Probably not OK, this one's a quick one.
- 11:34Cynthia Lopez: What is your love language?
- 11:35Cynthia Lopez: What does that mean?
- 11:38Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know what that means Cynthia.
- 11:43Andrea Shields Nunez: do you know them all?
- 11:44Andrea Shields Nunez: Why don't you tell it?
- 11:45Andrea Shields Nunez: Why don't you say what they are?
- 11:46Andrea Shields Nunez: I honestly don't know.
- 11:47Cynthia Lopez: I've never even heard of the book.
- 11:51Andrea Shields Nunez: I know some of them.
- 11:52Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't know all of them.
- 11:56Carmen Lezeth: What do you mean then?
- 11:57Carmen Lezeth: What is your love language?
- 11:59Cynthia Lopez: Basically like in any relationship.
- 12:01Cynthia Lopez: What do you feel is your way of expressing love to someone else or the way you want them to express love to you?
- 12:11Carmen Lezeth: With money.
- 12:12Carmen Lezeth: Is that what we're talking about?
- 12:14Cynthia Lopez: That's your way.
- 12:16Carmen Lezeth: Lots of money would be great.
- 12:21Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't think I remember them all, but there's acts of service, so doing nice things for you, playing nice things, you know, acknowledgement or something like that.
- 12:30Andrea Shields Nunez: Right Physical touch gifts Is that all of them?
- 12:36Andrea Shields Nunez: I think that might be all of them.
- 12:37Andrea Shields Nunez: Maybe that I missed one.
- 12:40Carmen Lezeth: I'm confused.
- 12:41Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what my love language is.
- 12:44Andrea Shields Nunez: Is that in all relationships that's the theory yeah, all people are like given their love in a certain way, and so it's your job to know what your partner's love language is, so that you can communicate with them in that way.
- 12:59Cynthia Lopez: Okay, I'm going to blow you up.
- 13:04Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, Andrea.
- 13:05Carmen Lezeth: What's your love?
- 13:06Andrea Shields Nunez: language girl.
- 13:07Andrea Shields Nunez: Acts of service Do nice things for me.
- 13:14Carmen Lezeth: So that means you, okay, I just want to learn.
- 13:16Carmen Lezeth: So you're saying, if somebody does nice things for you, then you love them, they love you.
- 13:25Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, that's how I like someone to show their love for me and how I show my love for other people, like cooking, right, that's doing a nice thing for people.
- 13:35Andrea Shields Nunez: I do that for people.
- 13:36Andrea Shields Nunez: You know, that's a love language for me and it's an act of service.
- 13:40Carmen Lezeth: You're saying I have not felt that kind of love from you in a very long time, but I have not felt the love language of cooking in my house and leaving me food for a couple weeks.
- 13:49Carmen Lezeth: Friendship of my love language is confusion, I think.
- 13:56Andrea Shields Nunez: Okay, I hear what you're saying Well.
- 13:57Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't know what your love language is.
- 13:59Andrea Shields Nunez: You have to tell me.
- 14:02Carmen Lezeth: I've never thought of such a thing.
- 14:03Carmen Lezeth: I really don't.
- 14:05Carmen Lezeth: I've never.
- 14:06Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what my love language is.
- 14:10Cynthia Lopez: Well, if you were in a relationship, or in any relationship, how would you want someone to show you that they love you or appreciate you?
- 14:18Andrea Shields Nunez: How do you know Like what makes you feel loved?
- 14:22Cynthia Lopez: We should go to joy.
- 14:25Carmen Lezeth: I think there's a reason why I am definitely single right now.
- 14:29Carmen Lezeth: Is this the answer?
- 14:32Carmen Lezeth: Is this what I've been missing the whole time?
- 14:34Carmen Lezeth: You're like I?
- 14:36Andrea Shields Nunez: have no love language.
- 14:37Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't have any love language.
- 14:41Cynthia Lopez: I'm not a young or old man, I don't have no love language.
- 14:50Carmen Lezeth: I think we now know the secret.
- 14:52Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 14:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm so confused.
- 14:57Carmen Lezeth: I think Rick is trying to tell me that he's trying to come on, but I'm having so much fun I'm going to have to ignore him for a bit.
- 15:04Carmen Lezeth: Oh, here he is.
- 15:07Carmen Lezeth: Wait, here he is.
- 15:08Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, we're going to bring Rick on.
- 15:09Carmen Lezeth: Rick, you missing it, chow.
- 15:11Carmen Lezeth: We've now determined that the reason why I am single all this time is because I don't know what my love language is.
- 15:21Carmen Lezeth: I know I'm like that's the answer.
- 15:25Carmen Lezeth: All right, give me the options again and I'll tell you what I think I might want.
- 15:29Carmen Lezeth: It is so material.
- 15:30Carmen Lezeth: It's clearly not material stuff that doesn't matter.
- 15:33Andrea Shields Nunez: Well, no gifts is one of them, right, Isn't that material?
- 15:37Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but you know, that's not really my thing.
- 15:40Carmen Lezeth: I'm asking you guys, yeah, so gifts is one of them.
- 15:44Rick Costa: Affirmation.
- 15:45Andrea Shields Nunez: Words of affection or some you know like thank you, yes, thank you, yeah, wait so wait, I'm confused.
- 15:52Carmen Lezeth: So you mean somebody tells me you're awesome and and that's going to make me love them?
- 15:58Carmen Lezeth: I'm confused.
- 15:58Carmen Lezeth: It's not about making you love them.
- 16:03Andrea Shields Nunez: It's not like some voodoo shit where they're like I don't want to.
- 16:09Andrea Shields Nunez: I'm not going to go and poke it in the hole and say she's awesome, she's just all in love with me.
- 16:16Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm still trying to figure out.
- 16:18Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, Rick just wrote.
- 16:20Carmen Lezeth: Rick just wrote words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, receiving gifts.
- 16:26Carmen Lezeth: There you go.
- 16:27Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I think mine might be quality time.
- 16:30Carmen Lezeth: That's probably fair right?
- 16:32Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I think so.
- 16:33Carmen Lezeth: I think that's probably me, Like I don't need to see you every day.
- 16:36Carmen Lezeth: I don't even need you to live in my house Intent, I have your own place.
- 16:40Carmen Lezeth: But I like, like, if we're going to be together, we're going to be.
- 16:44Carmen Lezeth: I think that might be true.
- 16:45Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I clearly not, because you know I'm by myself.
- 16:48Carmen Lezeth: Joy, your turn.
- 16:51Joy Gouge: Oh my goodness, I love the quality time.
- 16:54Joy Gouge: Yeah, that quality time Same.
- 17:00Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia was yours and Rick was yours.
- 17:02Carmen Lezeth: Oh, rick let's go with you first.
- 17:04Rick Costa: I would say probably quality time and some with a sprinkler.
- 17:09Rick Costa: Acts of service, like I was.
- 17:12Rick Costa: It's basically how do you feel loved when somebody does which one of these things?
- 17:17Rick Costa: So quality time, huge for me.
- 17:20Rick Costa: Like you want to spend time with me Cool, that shows you love me.
- 17:23Rick Costa: You know I love that.
- 17:24Rick Costa: But then acts of service is like I'll do the dishes for you.
- 17:28Rick Costa: Whatever, I'll do this for you, you ain't got to do it.
- 17:30Rick Costa: Really Like that'll make me feel like oh wow, you know.
- 17:35Carmen Lezeth: Oh, you know what when?
- 17:35Rick Costa: you said acts of service, like when Andrea was talking.
- 17:37Carmen Lezeth: She said I was thinking like you know you volunteer, confusion, confused by all of this.
- 17:43Carmen Lezeth: No, you know acts of service.
- 17:49Andrea Shields Nunez: You know you're being at the end of the day.
- 17:51Andrea Shields Nunez: Gas up your car, do something.
- 17:53Andrea Shields Nunez: You know like I want to revise.
- 17:55Carmen Lezeth: I want to revise.
- 17:55Carmen Lezeth: I like rubbing my feet.
- 18:00Cynthia Lopez: She likes physical touch.
- 18:05Carmen Lezeth: I want, I want men to.
- 18:09Rick Costa: This is rated G right this is rated G show.
- 18:15Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait a minute.
- 18:16Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing.
- 18:18Carmen Lezeth: I'm in charge of the clips.
- 18:19Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that's so funny.
- 18:25Carmen Lezeth: All right, I think I'm getting it All right.
- 18:27Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, cynthia, what's yours?
- 18:29Cynthia Lopez: So mine to be two of them.
- 18:31Cynthia Lopez: So I have the quality of time and gifts, but not like huge gifts, like, for instance, like if somebody goes to a store and they know I love Disney let's give an example and they go to a store, they see something with Disney or something like that, and they just thought of me and grabbed.
- 18:49Cynthia Lopez: It could be a dollar, it could be 25 cents, doesn't even matter, it's just the point that they show that they thought of me and pick something up for me.
- 18:59Rick Costa: It doesn't mean being materialistic.
- 19:01Rick Costa: It means like somebody took the time to actually get something and said, oh, I think this is gonna make their day.
- 19:07Rick Costa: And then you did it and it's like, oh, wow.
- 19:09Carmen Lezeth: Right, okay, but this isn't just romantic relationships, then?
- 19:14Carmen Lezeth: Right, not necessarily.
- 19:15Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so you guys were just messing with me, okay?
- 19:18Carmen Lezeth: Well, after this, I'm gonna have to have like, I'm gonna have to write in my journal and be like.
- 19:25Carmen Lezeth: This is what happened with this guy.
- 19:28Carmen Lezeth: I did not understand that he was trying to provide service.
- 19:36Cynthia Lopez: And your love language might not be the same as your partner or as your friend.
- 19:40Cynthia Lopez: It may be totally different.
- 19:42Carmen Lezeth: Clearly I wasn't even paying attention.
- 19:45Carmen Lezeth: So is that really?
- 19:48Carmen Lezeth: I guess it's really a thing, mm-hmm, wow this will be the last time we do turn the table Thursday.
- 19:54Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, because the host is feeling like a loser.
- 20:00Joy Gouge: But you're learning so much.
- 20:01Joy Gouge: It's your therapy session.
- 20:03Joy Gouge: I love these questions.
- 20:07Carmen Lezeth: I love totally is we're gonna fix Carmen after all.
- 20:10Carmen Lezeth: Who's next?
- 20:13Carmen Lezeth: Is it Andrea Joy?
- 20:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know if you had time to do some questions, but it's okay.
- 20:17Joy Gouge: No, just let me go last.
- 20:19Joy Gouge: Okay, that's cool, I'm just doing Andrea.
- 20:23Andrea Shields Nunez: Voila.
- 20:24Andrea Shields Nunez: Okay, so I had a little bit of trouble coming up with a question, but I do have one.
- 20:28Andrea Shields Nunez: I actually have two, so I'm just gonna lead into it.
- 20:32Andrea Shields Nunez: As Carmen knows, I don't like social media.
- 20:35Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't do social media much to her.
- 20:37Andrea Shields Nunez: You know annoyance and whatever.
- 20:39Andrea Shields Nunez: And so I remember we had a conversation once where I told her, like I'm a consumer of social media, I'm not a person who puts things out, I go there to look for things and of course we've all you know I'm assuming that you're all you know have accessed social media in the last week or whatever.
- 20:56Andrea Shields Nunez: It's been a super downer, to say the least.
- 21:00Andrea Shields Nunez: I came across it was a TikTok that was posted on Twitter, because I don't do TikTok, which, again, is a problem, but it was.
- 21:11Andrea Shields Nunez: It just brought me so much joy.
- 21:14Andrea Shields Nunez: I mean, I literally was like having tears, you know, watching this TikTok, and it was this teacher who took her students I would say they were probably like first graders on a trip to Mexico and she made little passports for them and it was payday and they had like little dollar bills they got.
- 21:34Andrea Shields Nunez: She set up the chairs and like they were on a plane and she got like something on the screen that looked like it was takeoff.
- 21:41Andrea Shields Nunez: One of the moms made like all this Mexican food, so they had Mexican meal that they bought with their money and they had souvenirs and just it was so, so, so wonderful.
- 21:51Andrea Shields Nunez: That was the age that I used to teach.
- 21:52Andrea Shields Nunez: So I just like just filled my heart with joy and I was like this is, this is what I want from social media.
- 21:59Andrea Shields Nunez: I really don't want any of the other stuff.
- 22:01Andrea Shields Nunez: So my question I have two questions.
- 22:04Andrea Shields Nunez: First question is what do you use social media for?
- 22:08Andrea Shields Nunez: How do you use it?
- 22:09Andrea Shields Nunez: And my second question, to really go with our theme, is what's something that you saw on social media in the last few days that brought you joy?
- 22:18Andrea Shields Nunez: If there was anything.
- 22:22Cynthia Lopez: No, that's good, very good.
- 22:23Cynthia Lopez: I'll go first.
- 22:26Cynthia Lopez: I use social media to kind of get ideas, because I, you know, I like my crafty stuff scrapbooking, card making, things like that so I like to get ideas on those.
- 22:38Cynthia Lopez: And then what really brings me joy when I see them is when I get decoration ideas for Christmas, especially because I love Christmas.
- 22:46Cynthia Lopez: So that's what I use it for.
- 22:50Carmen Lezeth: Love that.
- 22:51Carmen Lezeth: So I use social media not just for research, like that's one part like especially when I'm interested in something specific work wise, especially like on LinkedIn or whatever TikTok.
- 23:06Carmen Lezeth: I'm telling you, all the dancing videos just make me so happy.
- 23:09Carmen Lezeth: I love people who can't dance and they're caught like they do a do-it-do act with somebody else and they're following them.
- 23:16Carmen Lezeth: And when I say they can't dance, they're following a professional dancer.
- 23:20Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 23:20Carmen Lezeth: And I think the thing that frustrates me about Andrea and social media, I'm just gonna, because when you brought it up, so I'm gonna say it is you can curate what you choose to see on social media.
- 23:34Carmen Lezeth: You can do that and I think that's what I've done.
- 23:36Carmen Lezeth: I also put limits on every social media, so I'm only on for an hour, right, and then my phone beeps and I stop it never beeps so much because I've trained myself, you know.
- 23:46Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, I love social media.
- 23:49Carmen Lezeth: My favorite things are the dancing videos and one of my favorite I've introduced Rick to him is what's his name?
- 23:57Carmen Lezeth: Terry Kay Confusion.
- 23:59Carmen Lezeth: He does these videos that are like he.
- 24:02Carmen Lezeth: It's just the way he speaks, like whether it's recipes that he's doing a duet with.
- 24:07Carmen Lezeth: He'll be like watching someone do a really bad recipe and he'll be like police police, why are you putting butter on whatever?
- 24:16Carmen Lezeth: Like he gets so annoyed, you know?
- 24:18Carmen Lezeth: Or he'll be like I love that for you, meaning he didn't touch that recipe when it's on Google.
- 24:23Carmen Lezeth: So he brings me so much joy because he's very happy guy and he's just very funny, so, yeah, yeah, I like watching the cooking things too.
- 24:34Andrea Shields Nunez: Oh man, so funny.
- 24:35Andrea Shields Nunez: My feet is barely like 70% cooking videos.
- 24:41Joy Gouge: Okay because where I was on Periscope and even on Hats, where I live streamed, I did a cooking show and I loved my cooking shows.
- 24:49Joy Gouge: I loved them, and so now that both of those have collapsed, I feel kind of lost almost, and now I'm gonna try to do a podcast and do some different things.
- 25:03Joy Gouge: So it's kind of changing Right.
- 25:06Joy Gouge: I love the cooking, I love the Christmas ideas.
- 25:10Joy Gouge: I've watched YouTube about those all the time, and now just lost my try to talk.
- 25:19Carmen Lezeth: It's okay, cause your sound is going in and out again.
- 25:21Carmen Lezeth: We don't know what's going on.
- 25:22Rick Costa: It's so weird.
- 25:23Rick Costa: We can hear you clearly, but there's these weird noises that come in and out.
- 25:29Rick Costa: It's so weird.
- 25:31Joy Gouge: Okay, yeah, because actually, for some strange reason, the house is kind of quiet tonight, so I don't know what's going on.
- 25:39Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's nothing in your house.
- 25:40Carmen Lezeth: It's a weird noise coming through.
- 25:43Carmen Lezeth: It's like a weird noise.
- 25:45Carmen Lezeth: It's almost like there's.
- 25:46Carmen Lezeth: It's like a half buzz sound with a hitting of something.
- 25:51Carmen Lezeth: So it wasn't your headset, although with your headset you sound more muffled than you.
- 25:56Carmen Lezeth: Now you sound clear, right, okay.
- 25:59Carmen Lezeth: So that's okay.
- 26:01Carmen Lezeth: We go work with it, it's okay.
- 26:02Carmen Lezeth: Here's the reason why I bring it up is cause, again, I'm the one doing the editing, so it becomes a really hard thing.
- 26:08Carmen Lezeth: But I'm not going to put all of this too much work for me to do all five people, so I'm just going to try to get little clips and enter.
- 26:14Carmen Lezeth: We will see what happens.
- 26:16Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 26:16Carmen Lezeth: I want to win the lottery, that's all I want, not for any.
- 26:22Carmen Lezeth: Not enough to hire people to help.
- 26:24Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I don't need much.
- 26:28Carmen Lezeth: I don't need much.
- 26:29Carmen Lezeth: Okay, did I accidentally cut you off, joy?
- 26:35Carmen Lezeth: I lost this.
- 26:36Carmen Lezeth: I thought what was the second part of the question?
- 26:42Andrea Shields Nunez: Well, you said what you use it for and just what brought you joy on social media this week or recently.
- 26:48Joy Gouge: Oh, oh.
- 26:49Joy Gouge: I read this story actually today on Facebook about this woman sat down, this kind of like a hateful lady sat down next to this older gentleman on the plane and she said she didn't want to sit next to him.
- 27:06Joy Gouge: She demanded to change seats and the flight attendant went to speak with the pilot and the pilot was okay, you know, we'll change them.
- 27:15Joy Gouge: And then the flight attendant came back, told him said can you please follow me?
- 27:22Joy Gouge: And the woman stood up and said no, gentleman, will you please follow me?
- 27:26Joy Gouge: And took him to first class.
- 27:28Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh wow, oh wow, oh good, so she got to upgrade.
- 27:34Carmen Lezeth: No, he got the upgrade.
- 27:36Carmen Lezeth: He did right, right, right.
- 27:38Joy Gouge: Yeah, great yeah.
- 27:40Carmen Lezeth: That's really, yeah, I like the little joyful moments on social media.
- 27:44Carmen Lezeth: I really do.
- 27:45Cynthia Lopez: Yeah.
- 27:46Carmen Lezeth: Okay, Rick, you gonna share.
- 27:49Rick Costa: So I'd say, as far as usage, both informational and entertainment, if I'm a little bored or you know, or if, like, if I'm on hold or something for a long time, like I'm not listening to music, we put on something on Instagram or something whatever.
- 28:03Rick Costa: But, yeah, probably more informational because I like to learn things, understand things, and so I look at a lot of YouTube videos and stuff like that.
- 28:13Rick Costa: But, yeah, also entertainment and the funny stuff for me is what Carmen doesn't like, I do, like this lapstick stuff Like people and he keeps sending it to me and I'm like I try not to.
- 28:24Carmen Lezeth: I know I like send him a question mark Like does this have anything to like?
- 28:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm at work and I'm like, oh, rick, my co-host is sending me maybe information for the upcoming show.
- 28:32Carmen Lezeth: Let me see what it could be.
- 28:34Carmen Lezeth: And it's like some dorky stupid thing.
- 28:38Andrea Shields Nunez: Like what kind of?
- 28:39Andrea Shields Nunez: When you say slapstick, what do we like?
- 28:41Andrea Shields Nunez: Jackass type of stuff Like what are we talking about?
- 28:44Rick Costa: Not that degree.
- 28:45Rick Costa: No, not that.
- 28:47Carmen Lezeth: For me it's just as bad.
- 28:48Carmen Lezeth: Like Lucy stuff, lucy ball Lucy, like stuff that I don't think is funny.
- 28:53Carmen Lezeth: I have a very I don't think my level of humor is that difficult, but it clearly does not jive with most people on our show.
- 29:02Carmen Lezeth: That's all.
- 29:03Cynthia Lopez: I know comedy is not her love language.
- 29:05Cynthia Lopez: Comedy is not my love language.
- 29:09Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's a true thing.
- 29:11Carmen Lezeth: Funny Like I don't know if it's all coming, I'm not feeling bad.
- 29:14Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 29:15Carmen Lezeth: We not doing this kind of show Never again.
- 29:20Rick Costa: Another one, another stuff, another ones that I'm seeing a lot more of now was.
- 29:24Rick Costa: I was today years old when I found out this.
- 29:28Carmen Lezeth: That's come up a lot.
- 29:29Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, those are funny.
- 29:30Rick Costa: And I'm like.
- 29:30Rick Costa: Some of them are like, really, come on, everybody knows that Some of them are like are you serious Like?
- 29:35Carmen Lezeth: Some of them are like ooh, me too, but I ain't gonna share.
- 29:39Cynthia Lopez: Wow, yeah so funny.
- 29:42Carmen Lezeth: I like the things and I've been.
- 29:44Carmen Lezeth: This is so weird, but like learning how to fold your clothes so that it's really effective, and like for your suitcase, or just all the different ways people fold, I love those.
- 29:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm like that is so cool.
- 29:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, those things.
- 29:58Andrea Shields Nunez: I like watching them, but I would never do it.
- 30:01Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I do it for my jeans now.
- 30:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh, really Like hanging up my jeans makes so much more sense in the way.
- 30:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'll send you the.
- 30:10Andrea Shields Nunez: I did finally learn how to fold a fitted sheet, though, from a really, really, really hot guy who did a hip hop Right.
- 30:19Carmen Lezeth: Let's talk about that.
- 30:21Carmen Lezeth: I think what was missing in high school for me was the visual of a hot man trying to teach me history.
- 30:29Andrea Shields Nunez: I'm just saying it doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt.
- 30:34Andrea Shields Nunez: There's a dance around without a shirt and show me how to do it.
- 30:37Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, I want to start 17 times so I figure it out Absolutely.
- 30:43Carmen Lezeth: Is it misogynist too when we do that, when women do it?
- 30:47Rick Costa: I feel so objectified.
- 30:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, is it misogynist just for when men do it to women?
- 30:55Andrea Shields Nunez: Well.
- 30:57Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 30:57Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't know that I would call it misogynist, but sexist, sexist.
- 31:02Carmen Lezeth: Okay, all right well whatever, okay, clearly learning a lot today.
- 31:05Carmen Lezeth: I'm on all the ball there.
- 31:06Carmen Lezeth: I hate Carmen, I'm just kidding.
- 31:11Carmen Lezeth: Okay, who's?
- 31:12Andrea Shields Nunez: next.
- 31:13Andrea Shields Nunez: That's everybody on my question.
- 31:15Andrea Shields Nunez: I think it's Rick.
- 31:16Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, Rick.
- 31:17Rick Costa: So I had a question.
- 31:18Rick Costa: This is going to be sci-fi-ish, so bear with me.
- 31:21Carmen Lezeth: I was just going to say he going to talk about Star Trek.
- 31:24Rick Costa: No, no, not Star Trek.
- 31:25Rick Costa: This might require some thinking.
- 31:28Rick Costa: But somebody from the future comes to see you right now and says I'm going to send you to your past for 30 seconds to give yourself a message.
- 31:39Rick Costa: Where would you go and what would be the message?
- 31:45Rick Costa: I know me Like.
- 31:46Rick Costa: I know exactly what I would do.
- 31:47Carmen Lezeth: You're going to have to answer because all of us are going to have to think on it for a minute.
- 31:50Carmen Lezeth: That should have been a good one.
- 31:51Carmen Lezeth: I already am.
- 31:52Carmen Lezeth: Oh, Joy already knows.
- 31:54Rick Costa: Something for me was this I should never have taken this job promotion that literally changed so much of my life, because a few months after that company layoff and they all took care of the newer people that literally changed my life in so many ways.
- 32:10Rick Costa: So if I hadn't ever done that, if I could have gone back and say, don't do it, don't take the promotion, my life would be so different.
- 32:17Rick Costa: Right now I'm convinced.
- 32:19Joy Gouge: Oh yeah, I would go back to my ex and just say don't do it.
- 32:24Joy Gouge: I would lock myself in the closet before I would make it back.
- 32:29Carmen Lezeth: Wait, wait, wait.
- 32:29Carmen Lezeth: Is this wait?
- 32:30Carmen Lezeth: Did you just say your ex?
- 32:31Carmen Lezeth: So you would tell yourself not to date him?
- 32:34Carmen Lezeth: Yes, ooh, I didn't even think about that.
- 32:38Joy Gouge: Yeah, I would say run, run like the wind, just go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go go go, go go.
- 32:46Carmen Lezeth: That is so funny.
- 32:47Carmen Lezeth: Okay, andrea, have you figured it out.
- 32:51Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, I worked at the software company in the 90s while I was in college and my boss was super into Apple products that's how I learned how to use a computer and he was always like he bought a bunch of Apple stock and he was like you should buy it, you should buy it.
- 33:07Andrea Shields Nunez: And I was like I'm good.
- 33:08Andrea Shields Nunez: So I would go back and tell myself, yeah, have Ron, show you how to buy some Apple stock.
- 33:14Andrea Shields Nunez: I would do, don't do anything with it, but sit on it for like five minutes.
- 33:18Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I think that's what I would do too.
- 33:19Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna jump on that bandwagon.
- 33:21Carmen Lezeth: I would probably do something like that.
- 33:22Carmen Lezeth: Have somebody I don't know who, but have somebody tell me to give me the money.
- 33:27Carmen Lezeth: You can't change it, you can only tell yourself something.
- 33:30Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I would go back.
- 33:31Carmen Lezeth: This would be more secure.
- 33:33Carmen Lezeth: I would go back and find out what the actual lottery numbers were for the billion dollar, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:41Carmen Lezeth: Cause you would at least get half and I'd whisper it to myself in the future.
- 33:47Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that's what I would do.
- 33:49Carmen Lezeth: I would there you go.
- 33:51Andrea Shields Nunez: I'm cheap talking.
- 33:52Andrea Shields Nunez: That's for billionaire right now, right.
- 33:55Cynthia Lopez: I'd probably go back and tell myself what I wanna do now and then.
- 34:02Cynthia Lopez: That way I would have been in school sooner instead of waiting so long for my degree.
- 34:11Carmen Lezeth: I like that.
- 34:11Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I guess you would have to think about it as something that you not so much regret, but something you'd want to change.
- 34:18Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, I kind of want to see how this all pans out.
- 34:22Carmen Lezeth: I'm at this point in my life where I'm like I feel like I've done so much and I feel like I've done so much right and I still don't have the things I want.
- 34:31Carmen Lezeth: So where is this going?
- 34:32Carmen Lezeth: See, I'm like I'm like now messing with the good Lord.
- 34:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm like you know what we here now I need to see how this ends.
- 34:41Carmen Lezeth: Hopefully it ends well, but you know what I mean.
- 34:43Carmen Lezeth: Like I'm kind of like I don't know.
- 34:46Carmen Lezeth: I kind of don't want to change anything in my past, if I'm being really honest, because I want to see what the hell this was all for.
- 34:53Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, I thought about a couple of things like don't go to law school, and I was like but I don't want to lose what I learned from those things.
- 35:03Carmen Lezeth: I was just going to say I don't think I would have met you if you didn't go to, if you had.
- 35:06Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 35:07Andrea Shields Nunez: All of that has like trajectories that take you off into other places.
- 35:11Carmen Lezeth: It's so true, like the minute you said, that I thought if you had not gone to law school, you and I would never have met Exactly, and I think my life would be much more horrible without you in it Same here.
- 35:24Andrea Shields Nunez: No joy girl.
- 35:24Carmen Lezeth: It's true.
- 35:26Andrea Shields Nunez: No, I'm serious, it's true.
- 35:28Andrea Shields Nunez: That's what I mean when I started to even walk down the road a little bit.
- 35:30Andrea Shields Nunez: I'm like too many things change then that I don't want to change, so you can't, you know yeah.
- 35:37Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and I just wrote a chapter about you in my book.
- 35:41Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and I just know that wouldn't have happened either.
- 35:44Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and Jara's like what, what, what, this?
- 35:48Andrea Shields Nunez: bitch will knock it on social media.
- 35:54Carmen Lezeth: It's so annoying.
- 35:56Andrea Shields Nunez: She's the one talking about like it's so funny we're in her anti-ET.
- 36:03Carmen Lezeth: I have a question.
- 36:03Carmen Lezeth: Did everyone answer?
- 36:04Carmen Lezeth: We all answered right, I have a question.
- 36:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh, is there another question?
- 36:09Carmen Lezeth: I could ask another question Go ahead, Rick Go ahead.
- 36:13Rick Costa: So this one is obviously one that you're gonna feel comfortable discussing, and I have one, but something that publicly happened, that you were very embarrassed or humiliated or something to that nature.
- 36:28Rick Costa: So I'll tell you what happened with me and I'll never forget it because I was really embarrassed.
- 36:33Rick Costa: So it was a church thing and I was one of the people that was supposed to sing and the woman that ran it I called her mom because I loved her and we would talk all the time, and she was like how do you say it?
- 36:51Rick Costa: Plus a plus size black woman, and I called her mom.
- 36:55Rick Costa: I loved her to death.
- 36:56Rick Costa: And so the lineup was set.
- 37:00Rick Costa: You know, you got the paper.
- 37:00Rick Costa: See who's going next.
- 37:01Rick Costa: Da da, da, da da.
- 37:03Rick Costa: One guy was stuck in traffic so like, all right, we'll just throw him later on when he comes in.
- 37:09Rick Costa: Da da da.
- 37:09Rick Costa: So then everybody's going da da, da and I'm next.
- 37:11Rick Costa: So she's like, well, this next person, I'm very close to them, we've got out to eat and we've done this, and I literally think she's talking about me because everything matched.
- 37:24Rick Costa: And then she says come on down, so-and-so, whoever the dude's name was.
- 37:30Rick Costa: And I'm standing up already, starting to walk down oh my God and the lady next to me.
- 37:37Rick Costa: I didn't know her from Adam.
- 37:38Rick Costa: I put my head in her shoulder.
- 37:40Rick Costa: I was like, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, so embarrassed, right.
- 37:45Rick Costa: So then he did his thing, right, after hearing this big, long introduction, right?
- 37:50Rick Costa: So now it is my turn.
- 37:52Rick Costa: What does she do, rick, rick what is it what?
- 38:00Rick Costa: I was like.
- 38:00Rick Costa: I will never forget that that was funny.
- 38:03Carmen Lezeth: Wow, they call her mom after that either.
- 38:05Carmen Lezeth: Huh.
- 38:06Rick Costa: I still did, I still did.
- 38:10Carmen Lezeth: Oh man, Just wrong.
- 38:13Carmen Lezeth: That's happened to me before, though, too.
- 38:15Carmen Lezeth: I think we've all had a little.
- 38:16Carmen Lezeth: Probably we're like embarrassed in that way.
- 38:20Carmen Lezeth: I just know like the simple things like when somebody's saying hi to you from across the street or something and you're like I can't believe you realize they're not talking to you Like that's happened to me.
- 38:31Carmen Lezeth: Way, I'm like, girl, put your ego in check.
- 38:34Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no.
- 38:37Rick Costa: Or when the Bluetooth things first started coming out.
- 38:39Rick Costa: You don't know if they were talking to themselves or to you, or to what.
- 38:43Carmen Lezeth: Now I just think people are crazy when they're walking down the street with Bluetooth.
- 38:48Andrea Shields Nunez: I've got a horrifying one.
- 38:49Andrea Shields Nunez: So I was substitute teaching.
- 38:53Andrea Shields Nunez: I think I can't remember how old they were like almost middle school, I guess and so the teacher had left a note with all the stuff to do and one of the things to do was to take a quiz after lunch.
- 39:04Andrea Shields Nunez: So to have the little papers, the stack of papers, she's like have them, clear their desks and put the quizzes down and then time them, whatever.
- 39:12Andrea Shields Nunez: So they're all getting settled and everything.
- 39:15Andrea Shields Nunez: And I'm like, all right, clear your desks.
- 39:17Andrea Shields Nunez: And I start putting the quizzes down, like face down, and there's like the stragglers and I'm like clear your desks everybody.
- 39:24Andrea Shields Nunez: And I learned the names pretty fast.
- 39:25Andrea Shields Nunez: So I'm like naming people off.
- 39:27Andrea Shields Nunez: I'm like, all right, James, put your stuff away, whatever.
- 39:29Andrea Shields Nunez: And then I turn around and I see this kid still has some stuff on their desk and I can't remember their name now, which is probably because I blocked this whole incident.
- 39:40Andrea Shields Nunez: But so I'm like whatever, Jane, take all of you.
- 39:44Andrea Shields Nunez: And I'm getting a little annoyed because I'm impatient Jane, take all of your stuff off of your desk.

- 43:15Carmen Lezeth: I think I would have been like you know what?
- 43:16Carmen Lezeth: That's how I New style showing my lingerie.
- 43:28Joy Gouge: It was a very conservative.
- 43:32Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 43:39Cynthia Lopez: I feel like all my embarrassing moments have happened in hospitals, so there was this one time.
- 43:45Cynthia Lopez: I was really sick and I had to go to the emergency room.
- 43:49Cynthia Lopez: I had a fever or chills, everything, and I'm waiting in the in the waiting area and One was outside having a cigarette.

- 44:18Cynthia Lopez: I couldn't open my eyes, couldn't respond anything.
- 44:20Cynthia Lopez: So I could hear them talking.
- 44:23Cynthia Lopez: I feel them doing my vitals and I'm starting to come too, but I'm also feeling something coming up my throat.
- 44:32Cynthia Lopez: Oh.
- 44:32Cynthia Lopez: So I'm like, oh my god, in my head, I'm like I can't speak.
- 44:37Cynthia Lopez: I can't want this poor nurse.
- 44:39Cynthia Lopez: I couldn't say anything and I swear to god it was like the extra citizen.
- 44:48Cynthia Lopez: I'm so sorry.
- 44:49Cynthia Lopez: I'm so sad, that's all I can say to the poor girl.
- 44:51Cynthia Lopez: Oh.
- 45:08Carmen Lezeth: My god, yeah, I felt so bad.
- 45:11Carmen Lezeth: We must deal with that all the time.
- 45:13Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah.
- 45:16Cynthia Lopez: Man, how about you, carmen?
- 45:21Carmen Lezeth: It's too many, I'm trying to choose.
- 45:24Carmen Lezeth: I remember one time this the sad part about this is it's like not that long ago, but let's just pretend it was a long time ago but Somebody dared me and I took the dare, and the dare was that I would be able to get on a bike and go up a hill here in Tomasco Canyon.
- 45:45Carmen Lezeth: You know, enjoy what I'm talking about.
- 45:47Carmen Lezeth: Like a mountain bike.
- 45:49Carmen Lezeth: I was like I can do that.
- 45:50Carmen Lezeth: That's not a big deal, are you?
- 45:51Carmen Lezeth: You know, please, you know that I, so athletic, I've been working out Ta-da-da-da-da, whatever.
- 45:57Carmen Lezeth: So I get on the mountain bike and this is like a $10,000, you know it's some ridiculous amount.
- 46:03Carmen Lezeth: Like it's somebody's really great expensive mountain bike.
- 46:06Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so I'm going up and I think I'm like all good or whatever.
- 46:10Carmen Lezeth: I lose my way.
- 46:11Carmen Lezeth: Not only do I fall like I fall, but I fall.
- 46:16Carmen Lezeth: The bike goes over me and Takes my shirt with it.
- 46:22Carmen Lezeth: Oh it's better because I wear a sports bra, but it hooked so perfectly.
- 46:31Carmen Lezeth: Whatever was still here, it's better than that, because I didn't even notice, because I was like, or my friends are laughing, they're not helping.
- 46:52Carmen Lezeth: Thank God we didn't really have cameras back then, because this shit would be my boobies and I didn't notice it and I was like, why are my friends not helping me?
- 47:17Carmen Lezeth: Can you imagine?
- 47:22Carmen Lezeth: You have this dramatic experience.
- 47:24Carmen Lezeth: I'm thinking, oh my god, the bike.
- 47:26Carmen Lezeth: It's so expensive.
- 47:27Carmen Lezeth: I broke the bike.
- 47:28Carmen Lezeth: I might have broken a limb or something you know so dramatic.
- 47:32Carmen Lezeth: And and my friends friends with quotes are laughing.
- 47:37Carmen Lezeth: Four of them, the left one.
- 47:50Rick Costa: Janet Jackson ain't got nothing on you.
- 47:52Carmen Lezeth: No, no, honey, my boob was already out of the bag.
- 47:54Carmen Lezeth: I think that one was probably the most embarrassing and and it got again.
- 48:02Carmen Lezeth: You know like it hurt my feelings a little bit, you know, because they didn't care, I mean, but it was funny.
- 48:11Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that was embarrassing.
- 48:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I had many, many accidental naked moments.
- 48:21Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it just happens, just it's.
- 48:37Carmen Lezeth: It's just happened too many times to me.
- 48:39Carmen Lezeth: It gets me annoyed, but you know, it's what it is, it's okay.
- 48:43Carmen Lezeth: I've learned to love my body.
- 48:44Carmen Lezeth: I Remember one time I so I did do nude pictures at one point and you know right, I did the.
- 48:53Carmen Lezeth: They weren't real, they're not pornographic or anything.
- 48:58Cynthia Lopez: Dwa photos there.
- 48:59Cynthia Lopez: What boo Dwar is that you say?
- 49:01Cynthia Lopez: It are they boo?
- 49:03Andrea Shields Nunez: Dwar, I've never seen them, but are you serious?
- 49:07Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, I don't?
- 49:10Carmen Lezeth: you've never seen my.
- 49:11Carmen Lezeth: I had them on my website at one point.
- 49:14Andrea Shields Nunez: I mean, I've seen a few shots.
- 49:33Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what that means.
- 49:34Carmen Lezeth: Doesn't that mean like it's more like?
- 49:36Andrea Shields Nunez: Fancy like sultry sexy.
- 49:38Andrea Shields Nunez: You know what with pornographic people.
- 49:42Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I did a whole photo shoot with this amazing there, what tasteful, they're, testful.
- 49:51Carmen Lezeth: You can't see anything, but you can see the possibilities, that's all.
- 50:00Carmen Lezeth: They're really beautiful, whatever.
- 50:01Carmen Lezeth: But what happened at one point?
- 50:03Carmen Lezeth: Right, because when you're doing, we did all my headshots, we did outside, we did inside, we did like you know, we did changing of clothing or whatever.
- 50:11Carmen Lezeth: And I knew he knew we were gonna do this because I really wanted to.
- 50:15Carmen Lezeth: At one point it was one of the things in my bucket list to do nude photos that were really tasteful and beautiful or whatever, right.
- 50:20Carmen Lezeth: So, and I felt really comfortable with this photographer and so we went to do them.
- 50:25Carmen Lezeth: But when you're doing a photo shoot, I don't know if all of you know this, but you got to take breaks because you get exhausted.
- 50:30Carmen Lezeth: You know me get tired.
- 50:30Carmen Lezeth: So you know, we start doing them or whatever, and we start doing the nude ones.
- 50:34Carmen Lezeth: And I was very comfortable, you know, because there's a makeup person, there's a, there's a lighting person, you know it's kind of the whole thing, right.
- 50:41Carmen Lezeth: And at one point I mean I take a break and I'm just like I'm so sorry, I didn't mean that.
- 50:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm like, oh hell to the no.
- 50:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I have those photos.
- 51:03Carmen Lezeth: I mean it was just a weird, like you know.
- 51:05Carmen Lezeth: I mean I was just taking a break, that was for his private stash.
- 51:11Carmen Lezeth: It was so funny because you, you know you have the makeup, people, the lighting, you feel pretty, the music's on, you do everything and then you see the reality of the actual you.
- 51:29Carmen Lezeth: That's not.
- 51:30Carmen Lezeth: Oh, is that airbrushed?
- 51:32Carmen Lezeth: I kind of took away from the whole thing.
- 51:38Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, anyways, but I do have the other pictures that gorgeous.
- 51:47Andrea Shields Nunez: Yeah, very tasteful, very tasteful.
- 51:50Carmen Lezeth: Okay, who else has an embarrassing thing that we go do everybody?
- 51:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh, my god, we're at the hour mark too, so what?
- 51:57Cynthia Lopez: are your questions.
- 51:58Cynthia Lopez: Carmen, I'm sorry, do you have a question?
- 52:03Carmen Lezeth: Well, I was going to ask a question that had more to do with the video I sent you and I sent it to Andrea, to you, which was how I came up with this kind of idea, and I think it was Jeff, my friend Jeff went to school with asked the question in the Instagram post.
- 52:19Carmen Lezeth: We were talking about best friends, like what makes somebody a best friend, and he asked is your spouse or your boyfriend your best friend or do they have to be?
- 52:28Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to answer them because it was in the Instagram post and I thought it was such a great question that doesn't have to be about your spouses today, but I'll just be honest and say I don't think anyone I've ever again.
- 52:39Carmen Lezeth: We now know why Carmen is single and will always be, and now this will add to it I don't think any guy you didn't thought I was in love with was my best friend.
- 52:48Carmen Lezeth: I don't think I've ever said that.
- 52:50Carmen Lezeth: So I'm curious for all the married people in the room and the idea is your spouse or maybe you can't talk about it, so let's talk about past loves, or they your best friends?
- 53:00Rick Costa: Well, if it makes you feel better because I am divorced, I considered her my best friend, but obviously that didn't help.
- 53:10Andrea Shields Nunez: Okay, that's fair.
- 53:11Andrea Shields Nunez: There was one guy I dated who I considered my best friend at the time.
- 53:17Carmen Lezeth: Did I know you, then did I know you well.
- 53:19Carmen Lezeth: Okay, good.
- 53:23Andrea Shields Nunez: Oh yeah, that role.
- 53:24Andrea Shields Nunez: But yeah, I have to answer your question Are they, do they have to be, or should they be?
- 53:31Andrea Shields Nunez: I would say no one note Interesting.
- 53:36Andrea Shields Nunez: I think it's helpful, probably, if they are, but do they have to be out?
- 53:42Andrea Shields Nunez: Should they be?
- 53:43Andrea Shields Nunez: I don't know.
- 53:43Andrea Shields Nunez: I think it's important to have things for yourself, but I'm also a pretty selfish person, so Me too.
- 53:52Carmen Lezeth: I'm selfish and single and I love it.
- 53:53Carmen Lezeth: I love it.
- 53:58Cynthia Lopez: Cynthia go ahead.
- 53:59Cynthia Lopez: I agree that they don't have to be.
- 54:03Cynthia Lopez: It probably doesn't make the relationship better, I think it's important to have a good relationship.
- 54:09Cynthia Lopez: One in the room is one in the room.
- 54:11Cynthia Lopez: I consider him as one of my best friends.
- 54:14Cynthia Lopez: Yeah, we pretty much do everything together.
- 54:18Cynthia Lopez: I mean, we've been together since I was 19, so that's cool.
- 54:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I was just messing with you because I know one Joy is your husband, your best friend.
- 54:33Joy Gouge: I consider him one of my best friends.
- 54:35Carmen Lezeth: Yes, I love the qualifiers you all said.
- 54:38Carmen Lezeth: One of that's good.
- 54:39Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, do joy.
- 54:41Carmen Lezeth: Do you think in relationships that's probably the better way to go, because clearly I'm taking notes now so I have to work on my love language and some other things, so do you think they should be your best friend?
- 54:55Joy Gouge: I think they should be, if not your best friend, it's really important that you have that connection with your partner.
- 55:05Joy Gouge: Yeah, as if you don't, you know, there's a huge aspect of the relationship that's missing Right.
- 55:14Joy Gouge: And if they're not your, you know, if they're not your best friend, if they're not a really close friend, you need to ask yourself why.
- 55:25Carmen Lezeth: Hmm, I'm going back to that money part.
- 55:27Carmen Lezeth: I'm just trying to be my best friend with the money.
- 55:30Carmen Lezeth: It's funny because that's so.
- 55:33Carmen Lezeth: You know, I'm just kidding because it's so, not me, but it is kind of funny to say, okay, did everyone answer?
- 55:40Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to cut this off a little bit.
- 55:43Carmen Lezeth: Hey, ted, I'm going to cut this off, so we go and watch your show.
- 55:46Carmen Lezeth: Ted says.
- 55:47Carmen Lezeth: I answered this question this week while on vacation.
- 55:50Carmen Lezeth: Love my wife she's not my bestie, married 24 years.
- 55:55Carmen Lezeth: My best friend is someone that I've known for 40 years.
- 55:59Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I think our show next week is going to be real good.
- 56:05Carmen Lezeth: She's not my bestie.
- 56:09Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I like that.
- 56:09Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of what you guys were saying, andrae and Cynthia.
- 56:12Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I honestly don't.
- 56:15Carmen Lezeth: I've just never had that experience and I always.
- 56:17Carmen Lezeth: You know, I think we grow with people.
- 56:20Carmen Lezeth: So I don't want to say I thought I was in love and now I'm not, because I think that's where I was at at that moment.
- 56:26Carmen Lezeth: But now when I reflect back, I realize like I didn't even like him, which is weird, you know, like I didn't even like things about this person.
- 56:37Carmen Lezeth: How could they have been my even good friend?
- 56:39Carmen Lezeth: You know, clearly, again, I'm going to relabel this whole show why Carmen is single, but I'm so glad you guys stopped by.
- 56:50Carmen Lezeth: Thank you so much, joy.
- 56:51Carmen Lezeth: I appreciate you.
- 56:52Carmen Lezeth: I know you didn't know till last minute, but thank you for coming on.
- 56:55Carmen Lezeth: Andrea, cynthia, my heart Love you, girl, always.
- 57:00Carmen Lezeth: And Rick, thank you, don't forget.
- 57:02Carmen Lezeth: Next week we're going to be on the show Thursday night again, so that'll be fun.
- 57:07Carmen Lezeth: Please stop by Friday night 6pm Pacific.
- 57:11Carmen Lezeth: It'll be the battle between what is it late night, parents and all of the joy and there should be 10 of us and it should be fun.
- 57:19Carmen Lezeth: It'll be.
- 57:19Carmen Lezeth: Ted Hicks will be hosting on this platform, so we'll see you then for sure.
