Wednesday, 10 December 2025 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, Matthew 15:1 “Then they came to Jesus from Jerusalem, scribes and Pharisees, saying,” (CG). In the previous verse, Chapter 14 closed by noting that the people in the area surrounding Gennesaret came to Jesus and were healed. It next says, “Then they came to Jesus from Jerusalem, the scribes and Pharisees, saying...” Some texts leave out the word “the” before scribes and Pharisees, and the words are switched, saying “Pharisees and scribes.” The verse ending in the middle of the thought is…
