Latest / FPL Pod / S4 Ep2: Off The Bench: Premium players disappointing
Transcript
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:17Speaker 1: the Premier League. I'm Lee from FPL.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Family and I'm feel black Box.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Well as game week two is in the books and
- 0:23Speaker 1: we're just starting to spot some patterns and trends in
- 0:27Speaker 1: the performances of our FPL team. Something in the water
- 0:30Speaker 1: at North London, no doubt, with Spurs and Arsenal both
- 0:33Speaker 1: looking very good, but Villa and west Ham though very
- 0:36Speaker 1: much needing to improve. Lots to discuss as usual, including
- 0:39Speaker 1: some fairly high profile injuries to some key FPL assets.
- 0:43Speaker 2: But before all that, how was your game week?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Not great?
- 0:47Speaker 1: It was an okay game Week one for you know,
- 0:49Speaker 1: full of confidence roll the transfer. Go into game week
- 0:52Speaker 1: two forty eight points, so a couple less so bad.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It's in and around the average, which I think you know,
- 1:00Speaker 1: in the first couple of weeks we're still assessing. We're
- 1:02Speaker 1: still trying to work out who we're feeling our way
- 1:04Speaker 1: through the game. A lot of changes this year with
- 1:07Speaker 1: the deaf cons and stuff. That's an all right score, mate,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I think you're right, Yeah exactly so I for a
- 1:11Speaker 1: million around the average, it's okay, but yeah, three point
- 1:14Speaker 1: eight million in the world. Let's hope that that can
- 1:16Speaker 1: climb up over the next the next few weeks. Oh,
- 1:18Speaker 1: we're doing ranks, are we? There's only game week two
- 1:20Speaker 1: and we're doing ranks. Come on, it's at least game
- 1:22Speaker 1: week nine before we start reading those out.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh you're one of those? Are you one of those?
- 1:26Speaker 2: Doesn't we? Who?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Wait?
- 1:27Speaker 2: Now, I'm checking every week. I want to see.
- 1:29Speaker 1: It's the time where you get the biggest rank gains, right,
- 1:31Speaker 1: So it's true. Yeah, that was celebrating. Go yeah, I
- 1:33Speaker 1: went from three point eight million to ten k. That
- 1:35Speaker 1: was a that was a great week.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Well I did. I did marginally better. I did fifty
- 1:40Speaker 1: nine points this week, but after a terrible game week one.
- 1:43Speaker 1: My I think my rank is somewhere about five point
- 1:45Speaker 1: four million if we're going to be doing ranks at
- 1:48Speaker 1: three points between us, so yeah, I know, isn't it?
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Three points is about a million and a half places
- 1:53Speaker 1: or something. Still, because we're quite early on in the game,
- 1:55Speaker 1: well very early on in the game. But Game week
- 1:56Speaker 1: one wasn't particularly good. But Game week two fifty nine points. Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 1: it's all right. I got the Jammy Salar assist. We'll
- 2:02Speaker 1: talk about that right at the death had him as
- 2:05Speaker 1: captaincy and then I had Gapo was wearing. Last night's game,
- 2:07Speaker 1: Jao Pedro with fifteen was the star of the show.
- 2:10Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Maybe we'll start then when we get into the games.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Horro and Debravka also chipping in. But could have been
- 2:17Speaker 1: sixty something points, maybe more if Bruno Fernandez had slotted
- 2:20Speaker 1: that penalty.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Oh god, I'm so glad he didn't. I tell you that. Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: well I can't.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you non Bruno owners have definitely got away with
- 2:28Speaker 1: one there, goodness me, because he's got the defensive contribution
- 2:31Speaker 1: points and with that penalty goes in, potentially he's getting
- 2:33Speaker 1: bonus as well, So a two pointer as opposed to well,
- 2:37Speaker 1: what would have been, I think a double digit hole.
- 2:39Speaker 2: So you've definitely swerved one there. Got the reft to
- 2:41Speaker 2: fank for that, haven't we running into him? Well?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Possibly, yeah, possibly. We'll discuss that game as we as
- 2:46Speaker 1: we go along. Maybe we'll start with Jo Pedro, though,
- 2:49Speaker 1: let's start with west Ham versus Chelsea as a couple
- 2:51Speaker 1: of things I learned from this game as one is
- 2:54Speaker 1: that Chelsea are not at all suffering from any sort
- 2:57Speaker 1: of fatigue from the World Club Cup and their trials
- 3:00Speaker 1: and tribulations throughout the summer. If anything, I thought they
- 3:03Speaker 1: might be coming into this season. They haven't had too
- 3:06Speaker 1: much of a rest. You know, are the legs going
- 3:08Speaker 1: to be there? Well, listen, it's the complete opposite of
- 3:10Speaker 1: the momentum has carried them into the season. Very good
- 3:13Speaker 1: performance at the weekend. But the other thing I learned
- 3:15Speaker 1: was that west Ham massively need to improve. That's now
- 3:18Speaker 1: back to back defeats, conceding eight goals in that process,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and most of them when you see the goals back
- 3:24Speaker 1: when I've watched the highlights, they're mostly coming from crosses.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They seem so susceptible to balls in the box.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So what did you make of this game?
- 3:30Speaker 1: Seven big chances for Chelsea, five different goal scorers, So
- 3:34Speaker 1: good for Chelsea, bad for west Ham?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Bit of both. What do you make of it?
- 3:37Speaker 1: No balls into the box and they got next week
- 3:39Speaker 1: they've got Chris Wood absolutely thrive on the cross into
- 3:43Speaker 1: the box. So yeah, bad times for them, bad signals.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I mean I was actually out on the Friday and
- 3:49Speaker 1: I checked my phone sort of midway through and I
- 3:52Speaker 1: saw the score and I was like, wow, that's amazing.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I saw Pedro got a couple of returns and I
- 3:56Speaker 1: was like, oh, nothing for Palmer, that's surprising. And then
- 3:59Speaker 1: I looked and obviously he was out. So I think
- 4:01Speaker 1: that was the big news that he was due to
- 4:04Speaker 1: playing and they missed out. He was very highly backed,
- 4:07Speaker 1: you know, captained by a lot of people. You've got
- 4:09Speaker 1: to think if he'd played in that game, he would
- 4:11Speaker 1: have come away with a pretty big son you diagnosis
- 4:15Speaker 1: on the injury, it's a it's a growin injury. If
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken, he's yeah, maybe not as bad as
- 4:20Speaker 1: we think. We hope, but we haven't really seen a
- 4:22Speaker 1: proper diagnosis yet. Well it's a funny one, isn't it
- 4:24Speaker 1: Because I think Muskers said that he's been suffering with
- 4:26Speaker 1: it for a little while and he wanted to play,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and he put him in the lineup, so he was
- 4:30Speaker 1: he was deemed fit enough to start, and then obviously
- 4:32Speaker 1: just before the match it wasn't you know something, something
- 4:36Speaker 1: must have have tweaked. So now it's now what do
- 4:38Speaker 1: they do. Do they give him the weekend off and
- 4:40Speaker 1: let him rest, maybe over with the international break and
- 4:42Speaker 1: then bring him back after that or you know, was
- 4:44Speaker 1: it just a precaution and he's and he's fit to
- 4:46Speaker 1: fit to start.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Do they need him to start? Now? They know they
- 4:49Speaker 2: can score five goals without himself. He's quiet. I played
- 4:52Speaker 2: pretty well without him, didn't they. That's the thing?
- 4:53Speaker 1: Yeah, well exactly, You've you've got you've got to think
- 4:55Speaker 1: he's a major doubt, you know with that, And I think,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you know, a great thing for that was Pedro coming
- 5:00Speaker 1: in and playing in that sort of preferred role and
- 5:02Speaker 1: looking as good as as he did. So I don't
- 5:05Speaker 1: think he plays at the weekend unless there's a dramatic change.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I mean, he went to the carnival. He was at
- 5:10Speaker 1: Nottingham notting Hill Carnival.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Was he right, Yeah, you're a regular on his Instagram,
- 5:15Speaker 2: are you?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah? Of course he got you know, you've got to
- 5:18Speaker 1: do your You got to do your snoopid, haven't you?
- 5:20Speaker 1: When these things happened, he was referee our research that
- 5:23Speaker 1: has very good. Yeah, that's it. Yeah. Well he posted
- 5:25Speaker 1: saying like Incognito had a mask on and stuff, and
- 5:28Speaker 1: you know he wasn't on crutches or anything. He's out
- 5:32Speaker 1: and about. But I think I think he's a major
- 5:34Speaker 1: doubt for the weekend. What will you do with him though,
- 5:37Speaker 1: as because he's like, I'm with you, I've got I
- 5:39Speaker 1: want to wait to hear from Aresca as to the
- 5:41Speaker 1: extent of the injury. But if he's out for the
- 5:42Speaker 1: weekend and it wouldn't surprise me, you know, give him
- 5:47Speaker 1: to the international break and maybe he's out for any
- 5:49Speaker 1: any internationals and he comes back after that, that would
- 5:52Speaker 1: make a lot of sense to me. Do you keep
- 5:54Speaker 1: a ten and a half million fair asset in your
- 5:56Speaker 1: team and ride that out or do you just think, well, actually,
- 5:59Speaker 1: no open play goals since January. Maybe I don't want
- 6:02Speaker 1: him anyway, I'd sell them. I think if he's if
- 6:05Speaker 1: he's if he's out. I mean it's two away games
- 6:06Speaker 1: when he comes back. Brentford away. I sort of wrote
- 6:09Speaker 1: them off at the start of the season, but they
- 6:10Speaker 1: look like they've got maybe something about them.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, very good.
- 6:13Speaker 1: But then Manchester United away. I mean, you know these
- 6:15Speaker 1: are two quite tougher weight away matches. I mean, he's
- 6:16Speaker 1: brightened the home in game week six, you know what
- 6:18Speaker 1: he did in that in that match last season. But
- 6:22Speaker 1: then it's Liverpool, then it's Forest. It's not a great
- 6:25Speaker 1: run of fixtures after the break and you know you'll
- 6:28Speaker 1: find it easy to go down to a play like
- 6:29Speaker 1: Bruno or and boom oh, you know to target this
- 6:31Speaker 1: Burnley match you can move over to canach everyone have
- 6:34Speaker 1: anyone you want, can't you?
- 6:35Speaker 2: So yeah, so sell for me?
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I must admit I was looking at it and thinking, well,
- 6:39Speaker 1: if I see a good performance from Becaya Soker this week,
- 6:43Speaker 1: which which we did in part, then Palmer Tosaka looks
- 6:47Speaker 1: like a transfer I'd like to make. But of course
- 6:48Speaker 1: we've got soccer injury as well and out for a
- 6:50Speaker 1: few weeks for him too, which we'll cover a bit
- 6:52Speaker 1: later on. But Chelsea on the whole though, Jack Pedro,
- 6:55Speaker 1: as you say, three shots, two big chances created. Yeah,
- 6:58Speaker 1: he was the he was He was part of it,
- 7:00Speaker 1: wasn't He was doing his bit and ev looked every
- 7:02Speaker 1: bit the signing that they thought they were going to get.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I do think that, whereas a lot of the Chelsea
- 7:06Speaker 1: squad have had that kind of club well come and
- 7:08Speaker 1: they've not really had that rest, he did have a
- 7:10Speaker 1: bit of a rest, didn't he. Before he then kind
- 7:12Speaker 1: of dropped. They dropped him straight into the thick of it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: In terms of their preseason competition, so had a little
- 7:17Speaker 1: bit of a rest. He had a good preseason. Yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 1: he looks pretty integral to that side, and I can
- 7:22Speaker 1: see him potentially taking you know, a price rise. And
- 7:25Speaker 1: if Palmer doesn't play over the coming weeks, then as
- 7:28Speaker 1: you say, jo Pedro going to be in his preferred position,
- 7:31Speaker 1: probably going to want to make a point about being
- 7:33Speaker 1: in his preferred position as well. I mean, as a
- 7:35Speaker 1: Brighton fan, you know him better than most. Is he
- 7:37Speaker 1: the sort of player that will come in and go right, well,
- 7:40Speaker 1: you know that is my preferred position. That's where I
- 7:42Speaker 1: want to play. So I'm going to you know, take
- 7:43Speaker 1: the ball by the horns and put in decent performances.
- 7:46Speaker 1: We certainly saw that the weekend. Yeah, I mean, I
- 7:48Speaker 1: think he just wants to play. He's one of those
- 7:50Speaker 1: players where he will play anywhere. You know, he'll play
- 7:52Speaker 1: on the left to play up to tell play at
- 7:53Speaker 1: the ten. He's yeah, you know, he just like he
- 7:56Speaker 1: loves he loves football. He's got that mentality. At Brighton,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I always him as a ten, always, Yeah, Like he
- 8:02Speaker 1: would sometimes play on the left if Motowa was out.
- 8:04Speaker 2: He's sometimes players as a nine.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But he's got a lot of great attributes, but his
- 8:07Speaker 1: best attributes are in the ten where he can do
- 8:09Speaker 1: exactly what he did against west Ham, dictate the play,
- 8:11Speaker 1: great passes, he can cross, he can shoot and everything,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and when he's up front and isolated, he's a bit
- 8:16Speaker 1: less effective. When he's farmed out over to the left,
- 8:18Speaker 1: he's less effective. So put him in the central areas
- 8:20Speaker 1: and he will run the show basically. So if he
- 8:23Speaker 1: carries on playing there, that is where you want him.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Even though he's sort of playing a little bit out
- 8:27Speaker 1: of position, you know, he's a forward playing as a
- 8:29Speaker 1: sort of midfield of ten, I still think that's where
- 8:32Speaker 1: he can be most devastating. So yeah, long amou that
- 8:34Speaker 1: continue because that might also mean when Palmer comes back,
- 8:36Speaker 1: he's back on the right and that's where he is
- 8:38Speaker 1: the most effective as well.
- 8:40Speaker 2: So I agree, it's just the lap up.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Top, like he's the lap good enough at this stage
- 8:44Speaker 1: of his career to lead the line for a Champions League,
- 8:48Speaker 1: you know team, that's the one area where you think,
- 8:50Speaker 1: you know, maybe maybe they need a bit of an upgrade.
- 8:52Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, And we'll talk about captaincies for next
- 8:54Speaker 1: week as we get towards the end of the show.
- 8:56Speaker 1: But you know I had palmer a home to Fulham
- 8:58Speaker 1: kind of almost yeah, emarked in for captaincy. Bruno Fernandez
- 9:03Speaker 1: is going to get definitely some headspace from me as well.
- 9:06Speaker 1: But with Arsenal playing Liverpool, I don't think I want
- 9:09Speaker 1: to go for an asset and either of those sides.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And we'll talk about the malays that Sala's going through
- 9:12Speaker 1: a little bit despite getting some more FPL points against
- 9:14Speaker 1: Newcastle yesterday, not really in the game, not really the
- 9:18Speaker 1: sort of high XGI that we used to seeing from Sala.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So it's not crazy that jal Pedro is in the
- 9:23Speaker 1: conversation for captaincy for next week, particularly if, like you say,
- 9:27Speaker 1: he's playing in that preferred position. He won't always come
- 9:30Speaker 1: up against and Chelsea won't always come up against the
- 9:31Speaker 1: team like west Ham. Though it's not looking good for them,
- 9:34Speaker 1: is it. I certainly I'm not going to be investing
- 9:36Speaker 1: in any of their assets ahead of Forest Spurs and
- 9:39Speaker 1: Crystal Palace, two or three pretty tough games coming up
- 9:41Speaker 1: for west Ham. I've only got one west Ham player
- 9:43Speaker 1: in my team and that's Duke. Be surprised if he
- 9:46Speaker 1: doesn't take a price fall this week. Paqueta's goal point
- 9:50Speaker 1: not one XG is a great goal, but they didn't
- 9:52Speaker 1: really rack up much outside of that, and I'll take
- 9:55Speaker 1: the assist from duf but it really was quite a
- 9:57Speaker 1: lucky one. You're not looking at west Ham, are you?
- 9:59Speaker 1: We're looking for to improve anything, we're targeting them in FPR.
- 10:02Speaker 2: No, this is it. I think there, it's Operation target Westam.
- 10:05Speaker 2: They look just in big trouble already.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And you know, I feel for anyone who's got their
- 10:08Speaker 1: players like Duke One, Beska, Fall, Krug, Bowen. These are
- 10:12Speaker 1: all players that were quite highly backed. I think particular
- 10:13Speaker 1: because that Sunderland fixture in game week one good pre.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Season fall Krug as well, right, I mean.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I know, well he did score, he did his little dance,
- 10:21Speaker 1: didn't he, which was which was sweet, and then.
- 10:24Speaker 2: It got rolled up.
- 10:25Speaker 1: A couple of hip thrusts in there as well, I noticed.
- 10:28Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean they're obviously sales, aren't they. I mean,
- 10:30Speaker 1: you know, going away to Forest next, you don't expect
- 10:33Speaker 1: them to get much from from that game. And I
- 10:35Speaker 1: think if they if they get beaten quite heavily in that,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I think Potter could be in real trouble because the
- 10:39Speaker 1: fans aren't happy with what they're seeing, the players that
- 10:42Speaker 1: are frustrated already, and there'd be no points on the
- 10:45Speaker 1: board off three games. So yeah, big, big problems are yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: big problems. Let's move to your team. Let's go to
- 10:50Speaker 1: Everton versus Brighton. Let's get to Can we just skip
- 10:53Speaker 1: this one? It was very nice of Brighton to make
- 10:56Speaker 1: sure that Everton got off to a lovely start in
- 10:58Speaker 1: their new stadium. The new stadium looks unreal by the way.
- 11:01Speaker 1: It does look so so good. I loved it watching
- 11:03Speaker 1: it watching it on TV. Jack Grealish the star of
- 11:06Speaker 1: the show. I want to talk about Brighton's high XG
- 11:09Speaker 1: though two point three six x G. Of course, Welbeck's
- 11:12Speaker 1: missed penalty is in there, and he missed a massive
- 11:14Speaker 1: chance in the first half, didn't he, which was worth
- 11:16Speaker 1: zero point seven to seven XG on its own, So
- 11:19Speaker 1: well Beck responsible for a lot of that two point
- 11:22Speaker 1: three six x G. So potentially Pickford and Tarkowski owners
- 11:27Speaker 1: a little bit lucky to keep the clean sheet. Although
- 11:29Speaker 1: we've got to say that Pickford's record when it comes
- 11:32Speaker 1: to saving penalties is very very good, not least because
- 11:35Speaker 1: he puts a lot of the information on his bottle.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't if you saw that. Some of the highlights
- 11:38Speaker 1: absolutely brilliant from Pickford. But as I say, Grealish very
- 11:42Speaker 1: much the star of the show. Two assists, three chances
- 11:45Speaker 1: created and eleven deafcom defensive contributions as well, so only
- 11:50Speaker 1: just missing out on the two bonus points there for
- 11:52Speaker 1: the defensive contributions. That is what you call a proper
- 11:55Speaker 1: shift from Jack grealish and already making himself well known
- 11:59Speaker 1: to the Everton faithful. So yeah, talk to me about
- 12:02Speaker 1: Brighton first and foremost what you made of it as
- 12:04Speaker 1: a Brighton fan. But then Everton looking good in the
- 12:06Speaker 1: new stadium, creating chances, Grealish hitting the ground running did
- 12:10Speaker 1: all right, didn't they. I mean, if you ever want
- 12:11Speaker 1: to watch a match that sums up Brighton over the
- 12:14Speaker 1: last four or five years, I'd say this was the
- 12:16Speaker 1: perfect I've been here before. Yeah, not so many chances,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you know, and you know some of it down to
- 12:22Speaker 1: poor finishing, you know, O'Reilly for example from goal hits
- 12:26Speaker 1: it straight at Pickford. You know there's some things like that.
- 12:28Speaker 1: But I mean, Matoma, what hits the bar? We hit
- 12:31Speaker 1: the post twice in that game. You know, it's fine, Margins,
- 12:34Speaker 1: isn't It isn't it at times? And really, if you
- 12:36Speaker 1: look at the stats, you look at the way we played,
- 12:38Speaker 1: you look at everything, it's pretty remarkable that Everton came
- 12:41Speaker 1: away with the winning that. But that is what these
- 12:44Speaker 1: teams do against us, these low block teams. They defend well,
- 12:47Speaker 1: they ride their luck a bit, and they score breakaway
- 12:49Speaker 1: goals and we're so bad at, you know, just keeping
- 12:52Speaker 1: goals out. It's so frustrating because we have so much
- 12:54Speaker 1: of the balls, so much possession, we do all the
- 12:56Speaker 1: right things and we just concede sloppy goals all the time.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And Everton over the years have done it so well
- 13:04Speaker 1: against us. And ah, yeah, you knew it. I mean,
- 13:07Speaker 1: the stadium, like you said, was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere
- 13:09Speaker 1: was amazing. It was always going to be a tough game.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Tough game. Yeah, you don't want to be the first
- 13:14Speaker 1: one going to the new stage in it.
- 13:15Speaker 2: You don't.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And it was you know, it had to be asked
- 13:17Speaker 1: in this It's absolutely typical. I was really impressed with Greenish.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I thought it was excellent. I thought he was playing
- 13:22Speaker 1: with freedom again. I thought he looked happy, which is
- 13:24Speaker 1: a big smile in his face. He was key to
- 13:27Speaker 1: everything they were trying to do.
- 13:29Speaker 2: He's going to be that.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He's going to be the main man there again. Now
- 13:31Speaker 1: I think so, I think you think, do you think
- 13:33Speaker 1: he's worth a look at FPN?
- 13:34Speaker 2: I think I think we've got to consider him.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he's he's six or five. They've they've
- 13:38Speaker 1: They've just got Dibbling coming in now, haven't they. So yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 1: you look at and Die. You look at Dewsbrey Hall
- 13:43Speaker 1: and you think, well, they paid a lot of money
- 13:45Speaker 1: for Dippling, Like where is he Is he going to
- 13:46Speaker 1: come in? And you think, well, maybe he's going to
- 13:49Speaker 1: take Greedish's place. But then you think, well, they can't
- 13:51Speaker 1: really drop him at the moment. He's a one hundred
- 13:53Speaker 1: million pound player. You know, I don't think he I mean,
- 13:57Speaker 1: you know, maybe Diblin gives a bit of a rest
- 13:59Speaker 1: to everybody can come in and play in all different positions.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But do you think Jewsby Holl just drops back a
- 14:03Speaker 1: little bit? That's my that's the concern I have because
- 14:06Speaker 1: I have Gewsby Hall in my team and it hasn't
- 14:08Speaker 1: really shown me much in the first couple of weeks.
- 14:09Speaker 1: To suggest that I want to keep him in my team.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Now he's five point zero, so he's not a priority
- 14:15Speaker 1: problem for me necessarily, But with Dibbling coming in, I
- 14:18Speaker 1: do feel like if anybody's going to maybe sit back
- 14:20Speaker 1: a little bit, and you know he's been playing ten,
- 14:23Speaker 1: isn't he I expect him to maybe to drop into
- 14:25Speaker 1: more of an age. Yeah, makes him a bit less
- 14:27Speaker 1: of an asset with dibblin coming in, So I do
- 14:28Speaker 1: have that bit of a concern in my head. Yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 1: I mean Griege can move over to ten as well,
- 14:31Speaker 1: can't even play there. It's a bit more with I
- 14:34Speaker 1: don't know there's options, but I think the long story
- 14:36Speaker 1: short is that Greealish is the best option I think
- 14:38Speaker 1: from Everton. If you're looking to invest, Fixture is still okay.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I mean it just shows how quickly things can turn around.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Because they were so poor in game week one against Leeds,
- 14:47Speaker 1: like you know you were never going to be considering
- 14:50Speaker 1: investing in Everton and then they have a good game
- 14:52Speaker 1: against Brighton in the New Stagium and think, oh, actually
- 14:54Speaker 1: we can invest. So if you really want to invest,
- 14:57Speaker 1: I'd go Greelish. But I still think let's give them
- 14:59Speaker 1: a few more weeks to assess. We know they don't start,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know, playing well until game week six or seven,
- 15:04Speaker 1: so you've got a few more weeks before you you
- 15:05Speaker 1: need to need to get involved.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he was definitely the center of gravity, wasn't he? Grealish?
- 15:09Speaker 1: I noticed that sixty six point seven percent of the
- 15:12Speaker 1: chances that Everton created on Sunday originated from that left
- 15:15Speaker 1: hand side of the pitch, and that wasn't just greenish. Yeah,
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's an outlooked Yeah, he's for sure the outlet. And
- 15:20Speaker 1: I noticed that because obviously, you know, you know, when
- 15:22Speaker 1: you have FPL assets in your team, you watch them
- 15:24Speaker 1: a bit closely, that you've watched them closer than you
- 15:25Speaker 1: normally do. So I was watching Keenan Jewsbury Hall playing ten,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but very much drifting left, very much drifting left and
- 15:32Speaker 1: only they only actually created eleven and a half percent
- 15:35Speaker 1: of their chances on the right, so they were very
- 15:37Speaker 1: biased to the left. And I agree with you. I
- 15:40Speaker 1: think you said the fixtures look all right. I think
- 15:42Speaker 1: they look more than a right Wolves away Aston Villa
- 15:44Speaker 1: at home, you know, back in the new stadium in
- 15:46Speaker 1: the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Villa not looking great, which we'll
- 15:48Speaker 1: cover in a bit. The Merseyside Derby after that in
- 15:51Speaker 1: game week five up at Anfield, which obviously that's a
- 15:54Speaker 1: difficult fixture on paper, but Liverpool giving away goals for
- 15:56Speaker 1: fun right now. Then it's west Ham at home again
- 15:59Speaker 1: back in the new Stadium at six and they're not
- 16:01Speaker 1: looking great either. Palace at home in seven. Those fixtures
- 16:04Speaker 1: look more than all right, you know. And I think
- 16:05Speaker 1: the Liverpool fixture is the one that if I look
- 16:07Speaker 1: at the fixture ticker, that's the one where you go, okay, well,
- 16:11Speaker 1: that's the difficult game that's pulling them down a little
- 16:13Speaker 1: bit in terms of you know, they're not right at
- 16:16Speaker 1: the top of the fixture ticker on the on the
- 16:18Speaker 1: FPL website. But let me tell you you know, we'll
- 16:20Speaker 1: cover Liverpool Newcastle in a bit. I'm not convinced about
- 16:23Speaker 1: us defensively at all right. As a Liverpool fan. That
- 16:26Speaker 1: game against Everton in game week five, it's gonna be tricky.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It be a tricky little game and Everton can absolutely
- 16:30Speaker 1: score in that game, So Greenish from an attacking perspective.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Tarkovski one of just five defenders to earn defensive contribution
- 16:37Speaker 1: points in each of the first two game weeks. So
- 16:40Speaker 1: as we expected coming into game week one, James Tarkovskiy,
- 16:43Speaker 1: as all of the data model showed us in preseason,
- 16:46Speaker 1: is a deaf con monster lute.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Not picking him, it was obvious one wasn't it feels
- 16:52Speaker 2: like it? Doesn't It feels like it.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And with those fixtures coming up, I mean there's teams
- 16:55Speaker 1: there that can score against them, absolutely, but hoo'd back
- 16:58Speaker 1: against him continuing that trend of earning the defensive contribution points.
- 17:02Speaker 1: So again, as we mentioned before, two point three six
- 17:04Speaker 1: x g for Brighton, so a little bit of a
- 17:07Speaker 1: potentially a little bit lucky to get the clean sheet there,
- 17:09Speaker 1: but yeah, he's going to be getting the death contribution
- 17:12Speaker 1: points more often than not. It looks like tarkovski So
- 17:15Speaker 1: he's looking a very goodbye. Yeah, I mean I wouldn't.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I wouldn't be buying either at the moment, either Brighton
- 17:20Speaker 1: players or Everton players. I think if you've got them,
- 17:23Speaker 1: you can make the case for keeping them. Obviously I've
- 17:25Speaker 1: got Russer, which is really supporting to see him not
- 17:27Speaker 1: not in the squad wing to hear about his his injury.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I wouldn't be buying any of our players. The fixtures
- 17:31Speaker 1: aren't great. M next four is rough, isn't it?
- 17:34Speaker 2: For Brian?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I still think the fixtures are tougher than some
- 17:38Speaker 1: might think. Over the next couple, I think Wolves and
- 17:40Speaker 1: Villa by then, I mean Villa are going to need
- 17:42Speaker 1: to start getting goals, you know, in a few weeks
- 17:45Speaker 1: after blanking twice. So yeah, I wouldn't be getting greedy yet,
- 17:49Speaker 1: but he's one to watch. Yeah, all right, let's move
- 17:51Speaker 1: it on to Arsenal versus Leads. Then. I must admit
- 17:53Speaker 1: when I was pulling together my game week one team
- 17:55Speaker 1: in pre season without any Arsenal players, because I looked
- 17:59Speaker 1: at the first sort of four five weeks and thought.
- 18:01Speaker 2: That looks like a tricky set of fixtures. I did think,
- 18:04Speaker 2: whatever happens in game week two, that's the fixture I'm
- 18:07Speaker 2: going to miss not having an Arsenal player. And I thought, well,
- 18:10Speaker 2: you know, I'm going to set my team up. I've
- 18:11Speaker 2: got a structure, I'm going to have a plan, I'm
- 18:13Speaker 2: going to stick to it and whatever will be will be.
- 18:15Speaker 1: If they hurt me in game week two, then they
- 18:17Speaker 1: hurt me. And that's exactly what happened, right, exactly what happened.
- 18:20Speaker 1: They racked up five nil Timber actually Durian Timber, who
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't think was in many team. Very low ownership
- 18:25Speaker 1: for Jury and Timber going into the season. But the
- 18:28Speaker 1: second biggest single game week score by defender ever in
- 18:33Speaker 1: joint first is John arna Resa. I've got to get
- 18:35Speaker 1: that one in with twenty seven points back in O
- 18:37Speaker 1: five and six, and then Steve Watson for Everton back
- 18:40Speaker 1: in three to four, and now we're going back a
- 18:44Speaker 1: bit John arna Resa. Yeah, he was definitely a fan
- 18:47Speaker 1: favorite left back for Liverpool. But Jury and Timber you
- 18:49Speaker 1: are twenty four pointer, absolutely unreal And congratulations to the
- 18:53Speaker 1: fifteen as fifteen FPR managers that triple captained Jury and
- 18:58Speaker 1: timbersation if they are I hope they are liked and
- 19:02Speaker 1: followed subscribing comments in and saying yes, I was one
- 19:05Speaker 1: of those fifteen that triple captains Jury and Timber, because
- 19:08Speaker 1: it certainly wasn't anything I was thinking about. Yeah, so
- 19:10Speaker 1: Jury and Timber aside the Sacker injury, we've got to
- 19:13Speaker 1: discuss Jakares coming up with the brace and the penalty
- 19:17Speaker 1: and the sort of ninety third, ninety fourth minute and
- 19:19Speaker 1: we expect now him to be on penalties right. Soccer
- 19:22Speaker 1: was the penalty taker certainly for most of the penalties
- 19:24Speaker 1: that Arsenal got last season, although he wasn't free to
- 19:27Speaker 1: share them around as we saw. But even pre game,
- 19:30Speaker 1: even before this game, Arteta had come out and said
- 19:32Speaker 1: that Jacres is probably the best penalty taker at Arsenal
- 19:36Speaker 1: and was back in his man so not a surprise
- 19:39Speaker 1: to see him take the spot kick. And if you
- 19:41Speaker 1: did go for Jacares in game week one or you
- 19:43Speaker 1: brought him in for game week two, fair play because
- 19:45Speaker 1: that is a haul now and seems to have hit
- 19:47Speaker 1: the ground running a little bit quite in game week one,
- 19:49Speaker 1: but game week two now he's got the brakes. You'd
- 19:51Speaker 1: expect him to be off and at the race, isn't it. Yeah,
- 19:54Speaker 1: frustrating not owning him because I wanted him. You know,
- 19:58Speaker 1: he signed big money that final piece of the puzzle
- 20:00Speaker 1: for us. All we knew he'd do well. He just
- 20:02Speaker 1: looked at the fixtures around this leads game and you
- 20:04Speaker 1: looked at you know, he's there, a bit of bedding
- 20:06Speaker 1: in time, Havertz was there and then it's like all
- 20:08Speaker 1: the stars just aligned from really for this game, because
- 20:10Speaker 1: obviously Habert's got the injury. We got the comments. I
- 20:13Speaker 1: think there was that press comments. Oh no, that interview
- 20:15Speaker 1: with our Teta wasn't there where he said Cockrez is
- 20:17Speaker 1: our best penalty taker. So you think, okay, Socka goes
- 20:20Speaker 1: off as well, so even the risk of him taking
- 20:23Speaker 1: the penalties is gone. And he gets one in the
- 20:25Speaker 1: ninetieth in the ninetieth minute, you know, so up until
- 20:28Speaker 1: that point you know he's got a goal. I don't
- 20:30Speaker 1: think he was in the bonus. It was okay, and
- 20:31Speaker 1: then obviously he gets the penalty and then he gets
- 20:33Speaker 1: a big hall.
- 20:34Speaker 2: But yeah, it was.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It was a good week to buy arsenal plays. You know,
- 20:36Speaker 1: people who free hitted this week, for example, maybe they
- 20:39Speaker 1: had that in mind. Don't necessarily want the players around,
- 20:42Speaker 1: you know, around the fixtures they've got, but target this week.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Go for Soaka, go for a defender, go for Kearez.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And if you did that, you you would have smashed
- 20:49Speaker 1: the average, especially if you went for Kerez.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Captain.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I got twenty four points because all the other big
- 20:54Speaker 1: big names you know, didn't didn't haul. So yeah, fair
- 20:56Speaker 1: play to everyone did who went there.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I can't imagine too many people went for Timber given
- 21:01Speaker 1: he didn't to start in game we won, let alone
- 21:04Speaker 1: triple captain him. Yeah, I know, could be Arsenal fans.
- 21:08Speaker 1: If you're an Arsenal fan, you're getting Choparets. You're going
- 21:11Speaker 1: triple chakares right, not Timber. That's kind of unbelievable these things,
- 21:15Speaker 1: I mean, have fifteen people doing it is absolutely crazy.
- 21:18Speaker 1: But I mean, color Fiel, we've been back to back
- 21:19Speaker 1: thirteen points. You know, he gets thirteen points off the
- 21:21Speaker 1: first week. How often do we see a player score
- 21:24Speaker 1: heavily in game week one and then you know, like
- 21:26Speaker 1: Ballard for example, goes off after you know, totally a
- 21:29Speaker 1: few minutes with his with his big call, but Califu
- 21:31Speaker 1: just does it again. So yeah to two big calls him.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So again, if you if you had him fair Place, Yeah,
- 21:37Speaker 1: and what about Socca then as I don't have him,
- 21:40Speaker 1: so I haven't got this problem. I don't think you
- 21:41Speaker 1: do either. But a hamstring and it looks to be
- 21:43Speaker 1: sort of three or four weeks out back in maybe
- 21:46Speaker 1: game week five, maybe game week six ish. It's a
- 21:49Speaker 1: it's a difficult one for Soccarnas to take and for
- 21:51Speaker 1: Arsenal fans to take because we know he's got a
- 21:53Speaker 1: bit of history with that hamstring, so to see that
- 21:56Speaker 1: flare up again, you know it's not a good one.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And he's going to miss some pretty important game as
- 22:00Speaker 1: you'd expect him to miss the Liverpool game in game
- 22:01Speaker 1: week three, you know forrest in four Man City in five.
- 22:05Speaker 1: They'll be looking to get him back for that, won't they.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But as a if you had to have him in FPR,
- 22:09Speaker 1: if you're a saker own an FPR, I think you
- 22:11Speaker 1: probably got to sell, don't you. Yeah, And it's like
- 22:14Speaker 1: how many more wingers can to sell a buyer to,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you know, make sure he can give Sack a bit
- 22:18Speaker 1: of a rest going forward. Well, yeah, play him ninety
- 22:21Speaker 1: minutes every every week. You know, madaway k can obviously play.
- 22:24Speaker 1: They've got an Larry, they've got Is that's come in.
- 22:26Speaker 1: You know, they've got they've got so many options now
- 22:28Speaker 1: Trossards obviously on the left, but you know all these
- 22:29Speaker 1: players can move around and playing in playing rita positions.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So you've got to think that even when Saca's back,
- 22:36Speaker 1: those minutes are going to be managed because they've spent
- 22:38Speaker 1: all this time building him back up to fitness and
- 22:40Speaker 1: then in the second game for the hamstring to go.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I guess it's it's a big concern. So he's an
- 22:46Speaker 1: easy sell if you've got him. And I think with
- 22:49Speaker 1: Rokrez there, I prefer him, you know, going forward, at
- 22:53Speaker 1: least for the first half of the season. Yeah, And
- 22:55Speaker 1: I think it's you're right, you know. Maybe I remember
- 22:58Speaker 1: when the Madawak signing happened in summer. I was a
- 23:00Speaker 1: little bit kind of perplexed by it. I thought, well,
- 23:03Speaker 1: got Minieri coming through, Saca is there. I know he
- 23:05Speaker 1: can play left Madawek, but you know they've got plenty
- 23:08Speaker 1: of options on that side, with Trossard and with Martinell.
- 23:10Speaker 2: I thought, what is Madwek coming in? And maybe we're
- 23:13Speaker 2: seeing why.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Maybe we're seeing why because maybe Arteta's going into the
- 23:17Speaker 1: season thinking I do not trust Sacker's hamstrings. Who do
- 23:21Speaker 1: you think gets the start? There is Saka is going
- 23:22Speaker 1: to be out for a few weeks. Who plays on
- 23:24Speaker 1: that right? Does when Aery come in? Does mad Ak
- 23:26Speaker 1: start or who do you think? I think one of
- 23:28Speaker 1: the main reasons he brought in Madawayk was because he
- 23:29Speaker 1: thinks when air he isn't quite ready to be starting,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you know, every match, So I'd be very very surprised
- 23:35Speaker 1: if if Madawayk didn't start and left. I thought he
- 23:37Speaker 1: was really good when he was switched over to the
- 23:38Speaker 1: right as well. He looks a lot more comfortable there.
- 23:41Speaker 1: He's playing on the left, you know, that's that's he
- 23:43Speaker 1: can play there, but more natural on on the right.
- 23:47Speaker 1: So I'd be surprised if he didn't start. And again,
- 23:50Speaker 1: the pictures aren't great, but if Saka is going to
- 23:52Speaker 1: be out for for a little while then he might
- 23:54Speaker 1: be someone to look at. But I think by the
- 23:55Speaker 1: time the pictures get good, Sack ll put him back
- 23:58Speaker 1: and then it's it's it's a problem be going there
- 24:00Speaker 1: for now.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:01Speaker 1: And is it a target leads as well from the
- 24:03Speaker 1: from this game because they've got some difficult fixtures coming
- 24:05Speaker 1: up with Newcastle at home admittedly, but then Fulham and
- 24:08Speaker 1: Wolves away. It's a mixed bag for Leeds in terms
- 24:11Speaker 1: of fixtures over the next three Would you would we
- 24:14Speaker 1: be looking to target them in FPR where I certainly
- 24:17Speaker 1: not thinking about bringing anybody in from Leeds on the
- 24:18Speaker 1: back of this game. No, that's the thing, how'd you
- 24:21Speaker 1: go for? I mean, I've got road on in defense
- 24:23Speaker 1: and you watch the way they defend at times against Arsenal.
- 24:26Speaker 2: They were just giving them the ball in the box,
- 24:28Speaker 2: you know, and.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yes they've got to stop. You watch teams doing that.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I've watched it with Brighton over the years. It's nothing
- 24:36Speaker 1: more stressful than just watching your team just kick the
- 24:39Speaker 1: ball around the box. You haven't quite got the players
- 24:41Speaker 1: good enough to get away with it, you know, all
- 24:44Speaker 1: all the times. So yeah, I mean, who'd you go for.
- 24:47Speaker 1: There's no real options. I don't think in that team
- 24:49Speaker 1: for the moment, you know, James or Nonto. Potentially at
- 24:53Speaker 1: some point the fixtures are okay, I mean Newcastle, a
- 24:57Speaker 1: ravage will probably come onto those necks. But you know,
- 25:00Speaker 1: given that Gordon's suspended, that Tanali went off, you know,
- 25:04Speaker 1: Share is out with a potentially head injury. You know,
- 25:08Speaker 1: it's not a bad time. I've got road On. I'm
- 25:09Speaker 1: actually thinking of playing him next week because yeah, well yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you know, I've got other issues to deal with eight
- 25:15Speaker 1: Nor he might be out, but I can bring road
- 25:16Speaker 1: On in and then potentially look around. But yeah, I
- 25:20Speaker 1: think I still think that they're my pick of the
- 25:21Speaker 1: promoted teams to stay up. Arsenal way is about a
- 25:25Speaker 1: stuff as it gets. I think they'll be all right
- 25:27Speaker 1: over the next few weeks, but wouldn't buy them. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I think you're right. And that fixture at home to
- 25:31Speaker 1: Newcastle went three. It might be one to play, particularly
- 25:34Speaker 1: as we saw Newcastle stuffer quite a few injuries and
- 25:37Speaker 1: suspensions in that game on Monday night against Liverpool. Let's
- 25:40Speaker 1: discuss the game. I mean I could do the whole
- 25:42Speaker 1: podcast in how happy I was with the result?
- 25:45Speaker 2: Right, how did you get away with well that? Yeah?
- 25:49Speaker 1: I mean, well, we'll discuss the performance was obviously as
- 25:52Speaker 1: a Liverpool fan, delighted with the result, delighted with how
- 25:56Speaker 1: it played out, it felt like more than a win,
- 25:58Speaker 1: didn't it. For our sixteen year old wonder kid Rio
- 26:01Speaker 1: and Gomoha to pop up, who look very good in
- 26:03Speaker 1: pre season by the way, So you know everyone's saying,
- 26:05Speaker 1: who's this kid? Where's he come from? Not us Liverpool fans.
- 26:08Speaker 1: We're like, yeah, this kid is ready. And I think
- 26:10Speaker 1: when you look at our transfer business over the summer,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I think one of the reasons aren't a slot in
- 26:15Speaker 1: Liverpool where you know, if not happy to let Lewis Diasco,
- 26:18Speaker 1: we'll kind of, you know, let him go. Was that
- 26:20Speaker 1: they've got a pathway for this young kid Rio and Goamurra.
- 26:23Speaker 1: He's only sixteen, he's a couple of days away from
- 26:25Speaker 1: his seventeenth birthday. He looks incredible and we at Liverpool
- 26:29Speaker 1: have got high hopes for him. But let's not discuss
- 26:32Speaker 1: him too much because I don't think he's going to
- 26:34Speaker 1: feature for us much in FPL. He's coming into the
- 26:36Speaker 1: game at four point five though, by the way, so
- 26:38Speaker 1: if Gappo does get injured on that left hand side,
- 26:41Speaker 1: I do think he's going to feature Rio, So it's
- 26:43Speaker 1: one to maybe keep an eye on, but certainly not
- 26:45Speaker 1: as a transfer in but elsewhere in that game. We've
- 26:48Speaker 1: already discussed talking about what we're going to do with Palmer,
- 26:50Speaker 1: We've discussed what we're going to do with soccer. A
- 26:53Speaker 1: lot of these premiums, now are We've got question marks
- 26:56Speaker 1: over a lot of these premiums as and I think
- 26:58Speaker 1: there's two at Liverpool that equily have got those question marks.
- 27:01Speaker 1: We'll talk about salary in just a second, because he's
- 27:03Speaker 1: keeping the points ticking over. But floryan Verts come into
- 27:06Speaker 1: the season very highly owned, lots of high expectation, only
- 27:10Speaker 1: zero point one four xg in this game, and given
- 27:13Speaker 1: that it was quite a chaotic game, lots of chances,
- 27:16Speaker 1: there's lots of goldmuth action, his owners would have been
- 27:19Speaker 1: hoping for more, if not fl points, that certainly hoping
- 27:21Speaker 1: for more XGI in terms of expected goal involvement coming
- 27:25Speaker 1: into game week one. Though, looking at Liverpool in preseason,
- 27:28Speaker 1: as I did fairly closely, I did think that Vertz
- 27:31Speaker 1: was going to be more of the kind of orchestrator
- 27:34Speaker 1: in chief. He's the guy that keeps the you know,
- 27:36Speaker 1: the game ticking over. Nothing happens on the pitch without
- 27:39Speaker 1: his say so. And I think in I think in
- 27:43Speaker 1: FPL we're not gonna we're not going to perhaps appreciate
- 27:46Speaker 1: him as much as Liverpool fans do because I'm looking
- 27:48Speaker 1: at him, I've seen him in two or three games
- 27:49Speaker 1: now and he's an incredible player, an absolute ball, a
- 27:52Speaker 1: very very welcome addition to Liverpool and in my opinion,
- 27:55Speaker 1: a welcome edition to the Premier League. But in FPL,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I don't know if he's going to be that player
- 28:00Speaker 1: that gets the goals in the expected goal involvement. So
- 28:03Speaker 1: I think he's, yeah, he's probably looking like a bit
- 28:05Speaker 1: of a sell. Maybe As another premium that we're looking
- 28:08Speaker 1: to sell. We talk about Salar in a minute, but
- 28:10Speaker 1: verts have you got him?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I've got him? Yeah, and more.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I thought he'd be orchestrating more, sort of closer to
- 28:16Speaker 1: the penalty area. And the red flag for me was
- 28:19Speaker 1: after game week one of the Liverpool fans justifying his
- 28:23Speaker 1: performance by saying he covered the most distance in the
- 28:26Speaker 1: match against Bournemouth. That's not what I don't care about.
- 28:29Speaker 1: That don't want yeah Liverpool fans it, But in FPL
- 28:33Speaker 1: we don't want covered.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I don't care at all about distance covered. I want goals,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I want assists and that's it really. You know, if
- 28:40Speaker 1: you can make some death gone off the back of it,
- 28:41Speaker 1: that's fine, but he's not. That's not again, that's not
- 28:43Speaker 1: what I'm paying eight point five million four So I
- 28:46Speaker 1: think he's a problem because when you look at ekert K,
- 28:48Speaker 1: when you look at Gagpo, you just think, well, these
- 28:50Speaker 1: players look way more involved in everything. Echerit K particularly,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I mean, yes, you know we we again. It's one
- 28:56Speaker 1: of those ones where you look at the community shield
- 28:58Speaker 1: you think, well, the signs were there was going to
- 29:01Speaker 1: start the season strongly. He has he looks absolutely fantastic.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Whether Esach comes in or not will affect I think
- 29:08Speaker 1: how good he's output is going to be. If heat
- 29:11Speaker 1: comes in, you've got to think that's going to be
- 29:13Speaker 1: a hit to ekait k. Are they going to play together?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Is he going to be farmed out on to the left,
- 29:17Speaker 1: Is he going to be rotation? We just don't know.
- 29:19Speaker 1: So I wouldn't be looking at him until that transfer
- 29:22Speaker 1: window closes. But if he is going to be there
- 29:25Speaker 1: as the main striker, I'm definitely interested in him because
- 29:29Speaker 1: he looks like incredible. But Salas another one as well.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I mean he's a bit of a problem. I mean
- 29:35Speaker 1: no shots in that game against New Cars. He's got
- 29:38Speaker 1: more death cone than shots, which for five million player
- 29:43Speaker 1: isn't great. I mean again, he got the assist. You
- 29:45Speaker 1: always felt he was going to get something against against
- 29:48Speaker 1: ten men. He could have had another assist. That that
- 29:51Speaker 1: ball he put across the box Jones didn't convert. Salo
- 29:53Speaker 1: went absolutely crazy. Didn't he even.
- 29:57Speaker 2: The assist though?
- 29:57Speaker 1: As that the pass is intended for Dominic sha Bosh,
- 30:00Speaker 1: I think and Sebosa does is you know it's the
- 30:03Speaker 1: it's the first time, you know, I was watching that game,
- 30:05Speaker 1: and you know it's the first time really that Liverpool
- 30:08Speaker 1: really used the extra man, which Subosla having the awareness
- 30:12Speaker 1: to step over the bill, dummy it and leave it
- 30:13Speaker 1: for Rio and Gomoa.
- 30:15Speaker 2: So us Salah captainers, did you captain Sala this week?
- 30:18Speaker 2: I did? He did.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we've definitely got away with one there because, like
- 30:21Speaker 1: you're saying, not really involved in the game, and I
- 30:23Speaker 1: think outside of the ninety third, ninety fourth minute against
- 30:26Speaker 1: Born within game week one where he got the goal,
- 30:28Speaker 1: didn't he you know, not as involved as we would
- 30:30Speaker 1: have liked in game week one either, and the need
- 30:32Speaker 1: if you cast your mind back to the community shield
- 30:34Speaker 1: will got to the end of that game thinking well
- 30:36Speaker 1: it wasn't really involved there either. So it's kind of
- 30:38Speaker 1: three games now where yes he's getting the points. So
- 30:41Speaker 1: we're happy as Saler owners, I think, but for fourteen
- 30:44Speaker 1: point five we're wanting a bit more, aren't we, particularly
- 30:46Speaker 1: if we're going to be captain in most weeks?
- 30:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we are.
- 30:49Speaker 1: But you know, when you've got a player like Salah
- 30:51Speaker 1: who's still managing to get points in strange Liverpool performances,
- 30:55Speaker 1: not playing too well himself, and he's still right up there.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I mean look him to Harden for example, everyone was saying,
- 31:00Speaker 1: oh hard and Overseller is obviously the way Harlan blanks
- 31:04Speaker 1: in game week two, Salah gets chips away at the
- 31:06Speaker 1: points tally. When the pictures turn Liverpool start clicking and things,
- 31:10Speaker 1: you've got to think that the points are going to
- 31:11Speaker 1: be coming even more so, I'm not worried about about Sally.
- 31:15Speaker 1: You know, we're not looking at two weeks of history
- 31:17Speaker 1: with him. We're looking at seasons upon seasons upon seasons
- 31:20Speaker 1: of consistent massive scores. So I wouldn't be even worried
- 31:26Speaker 1: about about Seller.
- 31:27Speaker 2: But viits is more more worrying.
- 31:30Speaker 1: I think if I didn't have so many other issues
- 31:33Speaker 1: in the team, he would be right at the top
- 31:35Speaker 1: of the cell list. I think, well, I think when
- 31:37Speaker 1: you look at Liverpool over the last few weeks, and
- 31:39Speaker 1: certainly we saw this in pre season as well, it's
- 31:42Speaker 1: all about the attack. It is all about the attack.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And even in his post match press conferences, Slot talks
- 31:47Speaker 1: about please with the attack and please that we scored
- 31:49Speaker 1: this go on, please we scored that goal. There's very
- 31:51Speaker 1: little narrative around the defense, very little narrative, and going
- 31:55Speaker 1: into the season I just thought, I wonder whether we're
- 31:57Speaker 1: going to see a lot of chaotic games, whether we're
- 32:00Speaker 1: going to see this from Liverpool. And I think we're right.
- 32:02Speaker 1: We've had the conversation about Sala. No panic from me either, right,
- 32:05Speaker 1: you know, as you rightly say, this is an FPL legend, right,
- 32:08Speaker 1: So you know he's got a goal on the Cysts
- 32:10Speaker 1: in his first couple of games, and we're all sitting
- 32:11Speaker 1: here going, well, we expect more. Well, yeah, you know
- 32:14Speaker 1: he hasn't blanked yet, so you know, that's another way
- 32:16Speaker 1: to look at it. So in my mind, it's a
- 32:17Speaker 1: case of, well, who do you go for with him?
- 32:20Speaker 1: Do you go with Ekeritk, Doo with Gakpo. I've got
- 32:22Speaker 1: Gackpro on my team right now, ekit K.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I agree with you.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I mean, very hard to overlook if Esac doesn't come in.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I think if Esac comes in, maybe Ekitk and Gakpo
- 32:31Speaker 1: can maybe Ekitka can play left, and there might be
- 32:34Speaker 1: some question marks there. But if we assume that Esac
- 32:37Speaker 1: doesn't come in, both of those guys look, I think
- 32:40Speaker 1: nailed for starts, nailed on for starts, and they both
- 32:42Speaker 1: look like really good picks. But defensively is my concern
- 32:46Speaker 1: is the real concern now. A lot of FPR managers
- 32:48Speaker 1: had Frimpong in game week one got injured, so I
- 32:51Speaker 1: think there's a lot of sales there, a lot of
- 32:53Speaker 1: Vandikohers as well, who despite being a you know, a
- 32:56Speaker 1: deaf con monster, he's got twenty one in game week
- 32:59Speaker 1: one and fifty versus Newcastle, so you're racking up the
- 33:02Speaker 1: defensive contributions fairly regularly.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Van Dyke.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That is now still still having said all of that,
- 33:07Speaker 1: it's still the second week run in that Liverpool given
- 33:09Speaker 1: up a two nil lead and I've looked pretty shaky defensively.
- 33:13Speaker 1: There's no doubt that that unit is not a unit yet.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:16Speaker 1: A couple of highlights that they showed on the on
- 33:18Speaker 1: the TV last night, where you know we're defending free
- 33:21Speaker 1: kicks and Vandyke he's barking at the fullbacks, absolutely barking
- 33:24Speaker 1: at Shabosh Lie and Kirkkez to get in line.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Now.
- 33:27Speaker 1: You can forgive Shabosh Lily a little bit because I
- 33:29Speaker 1: actually thought he played really well as a makeshift right back,
- 33:31Speaker 1: but it's not his position, so fair enough, Van Dyke's
- 33:34Speaker 1: barking at him. But Kirkez I think has got a
- 33:36Speaker 1: lot to learn in terms of getting up to speed
- 33:38Speaker 1: with the system and understanding how Arna Slot wants to play,
- 33:40Speaker 1: understanding how Van Dyke wants him to be. So I
- 33:44Speaker 1: would not be looking at investing in the Liverpool defense.
- 33:47Speaker 1: And if you've got a Liverpool defender, I think it's
- 33:49Speaker 1: going to be hard not to not to sell. I
- 33:51Speaker 1: think you know, some difficult looking fixtures coming up and
- 33:54Speaker 1: defensively not looking good at all. Yeah, I mean they
- 33:56Speaker 1: when they're playing against teams on the front foot, they
- 33:59Speaker 1: look like they can be got out. And for so
- 34:01Speaker 1: many periods of that game Newcastle, especially with ten men
- 34:05Speaker 1: in the last twenty minutes, I mean I couldn't believe
- 34:07Speaker 1: what I was watching. It's like what Newcastle got ten men,
- 34:10Speaker 1: it looks like Liverpool have got about three less players.
- 34:13Speaker 1: At times they were just so easy to break against
- 34:16Speaker 1: and counter and forcing callers and getting the crowd up
- 34:20Speaker 1: for it. It was a master class really in how to
- 34:22Speaker 1: not play against ten men. I thought, quite quite naive
- 34:26Speaker 1: from the champions. But they got the win, so they'll
- 34:30Speaker 1: they'll take it. But Slot will not be happy at
- 34:32Speaker 1: the amount of control they surrendered in that match Arsenal next,
- 34:36Speaker 1: Arsenal will fancy getting at that back line for sure.
- 34:40Speaker 1: You know, we've been talking about Arsenal's fixtures being tough.
- 34:42Speaker 1: But for players like Karez or you know, whoever madaway
- 34:46Speaker 1: Ki or whoever, they'll they'll fancy getting them as fullbacks,
- 34:49Speaker 1: particularly Kirkers will be we targeted in that game for sure.
- 34:54Speaker 1: So yeah, I wouldn't be I always agree. I think
- 34:56Speaker 1: Vandyke was a great pick at the start of the season.
- 34:59Speaker 1: He's done all right, he's on. Isn't blank yet? You
- 35:01Speaker 1: could you could argue give given he's got the deaf
- 35:04Speaker 1: conpoints and it will get better. I mean from four
- 35:06Speaker 1: and five it's it's you know, it's Burnley Everton Palace.
- 35:09Speaker 1: These are teams that won't be attacking as much as
- 35:12Speaker 1: we've seen over the first few weeks. So if you've
- 35:14Speaker 1: got van Dark, you ride this one out and then
- 35:16Speaker 1: it should get better over after that. Forextor in okay,
- 35:18Speaker 1: all right, I go along with that. And from a
- 35:19Speaker 1: Newcastle perspective, Gordon sent off. So now they've got troubles
- 35:22Speaker 1: in that number nine position with Esak still you know,
- 35:25Speaker 1: not available to Edy how Joel Linton Tonali shah or
- 35:30Speaker 1: Share all off with injuries. So yeah, I mean it's
- 35:34Speaker 1: looking tricky for Eddie Howe coming into a set of
- 35:36Speaker 1: fixtures which looks pretty good. Leads Wolves and Bournemouth up next,
- 35:39Speaker 1: before then it gets a bit trickier in six with
- 35:41Speaker 1: Arsenal and Forest. So again, I'm not looking to invest
- 35:44Speaker 1: in Newcastle right now, but the fixture suggests that we
- 35:48Speaker 1: perhaps should. But the injuries put me off massively.
- 35:50Speaker 2: I think another fifteen million has been added to strand
- 35:52Speaker 2: Larson's price tag after after Gordon's red card. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 2: very good.
- 35:59Speaker 1: I mean they've got yeah, of course they have to
- 36:02Speaker 1: sign a striker. You know, they've been turned down by
- 36:04Speaker 1: so many over the summer and now their makeshift striker
- 36:09Speaker 1: is now out and it's a big problem for them.
- 36:12Speaker 1: And like I said, I think Leeds will be looking
- 36:15Speaker 1: at this and thinking this is a good opportunity for
- 36:16Speaker 1: us to get something in this game, which later in
- 36:18Speaker 1: the season we probably have no chance at. So yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 1: interesting match coming up, They've got to sign someone.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Yeah, good stuff.
- 36:24Speaker 1: All right, let's crack on with these games. Fulham versus
- 36:26Speaker 1: Manchester United. Then this was all about the penalty miss,
- 36:28Speaker 1: wasn't it all about the penalty miss. This game could
- 36:30Speaker 1: have gone so differently for me in FPL, I had
- 36:32Speaker 1: allgo at the back, so I wasn't that happy when
- 36:35Speaker 1: the Emil smith Row goal went in. He just ghosted it,
- 36:38Speaker 1: didn't he Ninety six seconds after coming on he replaced
- 36:41Speaker 1: actually Josh King, Josh King, who's reasonably popular in FPL
- 36:44Speaker 1: because he's a four point five midfielder and I've noticed
- 36:47Speaker 1: in pre season they have played together a little bit.
- 36:49Speaker 1: So I don't necessarily think it's a Josh King, you know,
- 36:53Speaker 1: or smith Row. I think it can be an and or.
- 36:55Speaker 1: But smith Row definitely coming on and stayed in his case.
- 36:58Speaker 1: But talk to me about the Bruno penalty and what
- 37:01Speaker 1: happened there, particularly with the you know, the nonsense with
- 37:04Speaker 1: the referee tapping him on the shoulder before the kick
- 37:06Speaker 1: and all the rest of it.
- 37:07Speaker 2: What's gone on there.
- 37:08Speaker 1: As a Bruno non owner, you must have been loving
- 37:10Speaker 1: him sky and that penalty, but you've got away with one.
- 37:12Speaker 1: There might have to say I jumped up and celebrated,
- 37:15Speaker 1: jumping around the room when you missed that. Because with
- 37:18Speaker 1: Bruno it's not just it's five points. Is the bonus?
- 37:20Speaker 1: Probably it's yeah, you know, it's so many different things,
- 37:23Speaker 1: So yeah, I was. I was very happy. I think
- 37:25Speaker 1: I've read something it was like one point three million
- 37:27Speaker 1: rank or something. If he scores it, you know, that's
- 37:30Speaker 1: the that's the levels you're getting if you had him
- 37:32Speaker 1: and you've got that golf mian.
- 37:33Speaker 2: So yeah, I was. I was over the moon.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I don't want to talk about Flanders and the that.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I could go all about that forever, but yeah, he's
- 37:42Speaker 1: got his routine. He felt like it was disrupted. He'll
- 37:44Speaker 1: still be taking them, so I wouldn't worry about that.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I mean, what I think is crazy is they've spent
- 37:47Speaker 1: two hundred million pounds on players and despite looking quite
- 37:51Speaker 1: bright at times, they haven't scored no play goal yet
- 37:55Speaker 1: all season. And you know they've had chances. Koon has
- 37:58Speaker 1: looked good and was beginning to the box Cessco's obviously
- 38:01Speaker 1: been eased in easy into action, but they start scoring
- 38:05Speaker 1: some goals soon. He'd got to think against Burnley, they're
- 38:08Speaker 1: going to get a coup.
- 38:09Speaker 2: This is it.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Despite the pen miss and he created one chance from
- 38:13Speaker 1: a sort of slightly deeper midfield role, didn't he Bruno
- 38:15Speaker 1: Fernandez he did get some deaf con points though, which
- 38:18Speaker 1: sort of canceled out the penalty miss because he was
- 38:20Speaker 1: playing in that deeper midfield Roun, I think he's more
- 38:22Speaker 1: likely to get the defensive contribution bonus. But yeah, they've
- 38:26Speaker 1: got to start scoring goals. That The one for me
- 38:27Speaker 1: though is Kunya. I've been impressed with him game week
- 38:29Speaker 1: one and game week two. He's rigially. He's got seven
- 38:32Speaker 1: shots across the first two game weeks, which is the
- 38:33Speaker 1: most of any United player, and Bromo's got five and
- 38:36Speaker 1: Bruno's got four. Just to kind of give some context,
- 38:38Speaker 1: there was one where By and Deer sort of went
- 38:41Speaker 1: full Tony Pulis and sort of just lumped it down
- 38:43Speaker 1: the field long ball and he collected it on his
- 38:46Speaker 1: left foot. Can you have brilliant touch? And had a
- 38:48Speaker 1: great say from Leno to deny him, and he almost
- 38:50Speaker 1: couldn't believe that the keeper pulled off such an amazing safe.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Had he scored that, then it's, you know, one of
- 38:56Speaker 1: the goals of the weekend, if not the goal of
- 38:58Speaker 1: the weekend. And he's off and running, so una if
- 39:01Speaker 1: I was, you know, I had a blank slate now
- 39:03Speaker 1: And he said to me, while you know, Burnley at
- 39:04Speaker 1: home in game week three. You know, it gets a
- 39:06Speaker 1: bit difficult after that with City Chelsea and then Brentford
- 39:08Speaker 1: away after I think clean slate, I probably would go
- 39:11Speaker 1: for Cunya. You know, of the three, how would you
- 39:14Speaker 1: feel about going with him over Bruno for game with three?
- 39:16Speaker 2: That's not much in it, is there?
- 39:17Speaker 1: I think when you watch the games, Kunya is involved
- 39:19Speaker 1: in everything, looking really sharp, really good. I love him
- 39:22Speaker 1: as a player. I think he's he's a great signing
- 39:25Speaker 1: for them. But I think in Boomo just has a
- 39:27Speaker 1: he looks more likely to get returns, like Cunya loves
- 39:30Speaker 1: a shot from outside the box, but he's happy to
- 39:32Speaker 1: dictate and the orchestra a bit more. Especially Bruno is
- 39:35Speaker 1: dropping back as well, whereas in Boomo just so direct
- 39:38Speaker 1: gets the ball, he's driving, he's taking some corners to
- 39:43Speaker 1: I can't help but think from an FBL perspective, in
- 39:44Speaker 1: Boomo might be the better, might be the better pick.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Although against Burnley, who are going to sit back, maybe
- 39:50Speaker 1: Kunia will have a bit more license to get for
- 39:52Speaker 1: I don't know. It's it's a coin flow, isn't it.
- 39:54Speaker 1: I'd pick either of them over Fernandez. I can't be
- 39:56Speaker 1: picking a defensive midfielder.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't.
- 39:58Speaker 1: We don't know enough about yet, do we. We don't
- 40:00Speaker 1: know enough. We need to see a bit more. We
- 40:02Speaker 1: need to see a bit more. But a team that
- 40:04Speaker 1: I think I'd be very happy to watch a bit
- 40:05Speaker 1: more of his spurs Man City versus Spurs at the weekend.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Wow, you know one of the would we call it
- 40:10Speaker 2: a shot? Was?
- 40:11Speaker 1: I guess we would, right, any team that goes to
- 40:12Speaker 1: the Etty had and pulls off a two nil win,
- 40:14Speaker 1: you've got to call that a bit of a shock result.
- 40:16Speaker 1: But I have to say I was very you know,
- 40:18Speaker 1: I've been on this podcast and a go on the
- 40:19Speaker 1: FPL Family podcast with Sam and it was very critical
- 40:23Speaker 1: last season sometimes of Angipostera Cooglu and the way that
- 40:26Speaker 1: he went about things and his lack of tactical adaptability
- 40:28Speaker 1: and the fact that he was running a lot of
- 40:29Speaker 1: players into the ground. Well, if I was quick to
- 40:32Speaker 1: be critical last season, I have to be very quick
- 40:34Speaker 1: to praise them this season. And I think the way
- 40:36Speaker 1: that Thomas Frank has gone about the first couple of
- 40:38Speaker 1: game weeks shows that he's got, you know, a lot
- 40:41Speaker 1: of attributes that maybe ange Postera Cogglo didn't have in
- 40:43Speaker 1: terms of, you know, tactical acumen and the way that
- 40:45Speaker 1: he's putting the team together. This team that he rolled
- 40:49Speaker 1: out against Man City at the Etty had goodness.
- 40:51Speaker 2: To me.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I thought Paulinia and Sar in midfield were just pressing monsters.
- 40:56Speaker 1: The energy from those two was absolutely fantastic. And of
- 40:59Speaker 1: course pops up with the goal, so that will get
- 41:02Speaker 1: the headlines, but it was all around performance for me
- 41:05Speaker 1: that really stood out. I mean, what a player Spurs
- 41:08Speaker 1: have got there. If they can get peak Paolina from
- 41:12Speaker 1: you know, Fulham Polina from a few seasons ago, which
- 41:14Speaker 1: as we know in FPL can be very very good.
- 41:16Speaker 1: So yeah, what do you make in the game City
- 41:17Speaker 1: off of it or Spurs on it or a bit
- 41:19Speaker 1: of both.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I think the main thing for me was you saw
- 41:21Speaker 2: two completely different tactics.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Inside. You saw a Spurs team who are quite settled.
- 41:27Speaker 1: You know, they've got a way of playing. They've got
- 41:28Speaker 1: the same person who can be playing week and week
- 41:30Speaker 1: where you've got City who had such a good performance
- 41:32Speaker 1: in game he won and then change everything up in
- 41:33Speaker 1: game week two, bringing in new players Rynders with a
- 41:36Speaker 1: different role and it just puts me off their assets
- 41:38Speaker 1: a lot more and massively pushes me towards investing in Spurs.
- 41:42Speaker 1: So I think there's going to be great options from
- 41:44Speaker 1: Spurs going forward. You know, Charlis I think looks a
- 41:46Speaker 1: good pick, particularly the short term. You've got Bredan Johnson
- 41:49Speaker 1: as well, who scored again Kudus if you've got him
- 41:52Speaker 1: in the defense looks great. So City if you haven't
- 41:56Speaker 1: got them, I wouldn't be buying them now, But Spurs
- 41:58Speaker 1: definitely a team to go for. Yeah, I agree, Yes,
- 42:01Speaker 1: Spurs looking very very good. Rich Charlison as well, six
- 42:03Speaker 1: point seven now million in fls. We've taken a couple
- 42:06Speaker 1: of price rises and the joint top and the FPL
- 42:08Speaker 1: forward stable. So you know, with Thomas Frank coming out
- 42:11Speaker 1: and saying he's my number nine and giving him a
- 42:12Speaker 1: lot of confidence, maybe he's one that we look at
- 42:14Speaker 1: and the rest of the games though, as anything that
- 42:16Speaker 1: stood out for you, what about Olie.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Watkins nine million pounds a you're.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Going to cost you an FPL but not really justifying
- 42:23Speaker 1: that price tag as a lot of the premiums are
- 42:25Speaker 1: not right now right? What did you make of his
- 42:27Speaker 1: performance against Brentford? It was horrible gaming wasn't it. Because
- 42:29Speaker 1: we've touched on some of the injuries to players, but
- 42:31Speaker 1: we've also got players like Vits and Watkins who like
- 42:36Speaker 1: if I didn't have injuries, I'd be looking at moving
- 42:37Speaker 1: out because I've been so disappointed with Villa. I know
- 42:40Speaker 1: they've they've lost quite a few attacking players, but they
- 42:43Speaker 1: just look like they don't know how to score goals
- 42:46Speaker 1: at the moment. And I know things can turn around
- 42:48Speaker 1: really quickly, but I actually think with Palace next and
- 42:50Speaker 1: then Everton, that is two gay two teams, two absolute
- 42:54Speaker 1: games against teams who know how to defend. So there
- 42:58Speaker 1: are no creativity in that Villa. SOI right now they're
- 43:00Speaker 1: eighteen XG right now, Villa after two games. That tells
- 43:03Speaker 1: you everything. I think he's a cell. Honestly, I think
- 43:05Speaker 1: he's a sell if you've a love issues in your team.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I think he's a player that you could move down
- 43:10Speaker 1: to a Chris Wood or Jil Pedro or someone like that,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and you can use that money elsewhere in your team
- 43:14Speaker 1: and strengthen massively. So Rogers, I'd probably keep at seven. Watkins.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I if I could get rid of him, I probably would.
- 43:22Speaker 1: I mean, on your flip side, of that. The player
- 43:23Speaker 1: that I was really impressed with the game was Semeno
- 43:25Speaker 1: right six points again two goals against Liverpool next year
- 43:30Speaker 1: of over one. He could have had a massive haul
- 43:32Speaker 1: in that match, actually having loads of shots like we
- 43:34Speaker 1: used to involve in everything born for looking pretty decent
- 43:38Speaker 1: this he has gone up to seven point two now.
- 43:40Speaker 1: But he looks a great pick. Yeah, we saw that
- 43:42Speaker 1: last season, didn't We Just taking shots at left, right
- 43:45Speaker 1: and center, like you say, six pointer in this game,
- 43:47Speaker 1: but four shots in the box, two big chances. I
- 43:49Speaker 1: think he's now joint top four attempts so far this
- 43:52Speaker 1: season with seven. I think Kunya and Anthony Gordon are
- 43:54Speaker 1: up there with him on that seven. But yeah, we
- 43:57Speaker 1: saw it last season. Loves a shot, loves to get
- 43:59Speaker 1: that shot way and with Bornous fixtures two bad spurs
- 44:03Speaker 1: away is obviously difficult. In three, but then Brighton and
- 44:05Speaker 1: new Cast at home Leeds Fulham on the on the horizon. Yes,
- 44:08Speaker 1: the Meno definitely going to be on radar. Yeah, and
- 44:11Speaker 1: then the final one is obviously the Forest players because
- 44:14Speaker 1: they've got the west Ham game going forward. I mean
- 44:16Speaker 1: it was a game against Palace. We expected there was
- 44:20Speaker 1: you know, not too many chances in that you've got.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Obviously the left Devonie came in didn't have an amazing game.
- 44:29Speaker 1: They've had the Europa League as well, so their squad
- 44:31Speaker 1: isn't massive. They're they're having to play the same players
- 44:33Speaker 1: kind of across everything.
- 44:34Speaker 2: The quir looks great though.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I think he could be one of the best, doesn't Yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 1: they have good, good defensive team def Cone looks great,
- 44:41Speaker 1: but it's Forrest. They're the exciting ones in deuy Golden
- 44:45Speaker 1: assist for him? Yeah, you know, is the Alanga replacement
- 44:47Speaker 1: Chris Woods obviously big hole in Gay week one, not
- 44:50Speaker 1: so much in game week two. Gibbs White, you've got
- 44:53Speaker 1: You've got the Forest, you know, center backs and fall backs.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Forest are the ones if if you're making transfers this
- 44:59Speaker 1: week you obviously you've got Managi's night at Burnley, but
- 45:01Speaker 1: I really do think you want at least one Forest
- 45:03Speaker 1: attacker going into this west and then west Ham at
- 45:06Speaker 1: home in three looks good, doesn't it? And I do
- 45:07Speaker 1: have to give a as a note to end On,
- 45:09Speaker 1: we've got to give a shout out to Elliott Anderson
- 45:11Speaker 1: owners one clearance, block, interception or tackle away from death.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Combonus again. It was the same in game week one,
- 45:18Speaker 1: I think got eleven and again eleven in game week two.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Sacks them up so quickly.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Then you're waiting for that final one never comes, I know, yeah, yeah, correct,
- 45:26Speaker 1: but it's bound to happen. It's but we saw him,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you know, we all come into game week one knowing
- 45:29Speaker 1: that he was going to be good for the clearances, blocks,
- 45:32Speaker 1: interceptions and tackle. So Elliot Anderson owners, hold on, it's coming.
- 45:36Speaker 1: The death combonus is coming. Yeah, And I think hold
- 45:38Speaker 1: on is kind of a key feature because we've got
- 45:41Speaker 1: the Cup games coming up during this week. We all
- 45:43Speaker 1: want to make transfers. We've got injuries, we've got you know,
- 45:46Speaker 1: players out of form and all that. But you know,
- 45:48Speaker 1: the injuries can happen in these games. You want to
- 45:50Speaker 1: wait and see what happens in those matches, and if
- 45:53Speaker 1: you do get a you know, one of your players
- 45:54Speaker 1: gets injured one of those games, you've already made your transfers.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Some people are already transferred in Gordon for example, before
- 45:59Speaker 1: that new Castle game, which yeah, don't don't transferring players
- 46:02Speaker 1: before they play.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Basically it's mind rise.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Yeah, totally agree, totally, But you know keep an eye
- 46:08Speaker 1: on those price rises and falls as well, though, because
- 46:11Speaker 1: nothing worse than being zero point one million short of
- 46:14Speaker 1: your dream move is there.
- 46:14Speaker 2: As we've all been there. Well that's it.
- 46:16Speaker 1: You've got to wait up, haven't you, because you know
- 46:17Speaker 1: you can go early and maybe get that play you
- 46:19Speaker 1: wouldn't be able otherwise get, but they could get injured
- 46:21Speaker 1: later in the week. I still think if you can wait,
- 46:24Speaker 1: wait for as long as you can. Killy, Sam and
- 46:26Speaker 1: Jewels are back on Thursday. Anyway, talk you through game
- 46:28Speaker 1: week three. If you haven't done so already, make sure
- 46:31Speaker 1: you join the FPL Pod Mini League.
- 46:33Speaker 2: The code is x y six xp L. Thanks as
- 46:36Speaker 2: great chatting FPR with you as always. Good luck in
- 46:39Speaker 2: Game of three you too,
