- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, and welcome back to the Pretty Little Podcast Labor Day edition, where you're hosts.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: My name is Phoebe, and my name is Caroline, and today you guys, we are revisiting not only the pilot episode of Pretty Little Liers, but the pilot episode of The Pretty Little Podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: We re-listened to it.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: And we also re-watch the pilot.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: And we are just here to give you, I guess, a little forward, a little pre-cursor before you dive back into the pilot on this high-holy day, Labor Day.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: the official pretty little liar.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_02]: I totally did.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: Did you have a little bit of a jump scare turning on the episode and hearing just that the light in our eyes, the brightness of our voices?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: I would say you and I both had what you call not so fondly at my voice over voice.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I do think it was because Mom was coaching me.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: She was so worried.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_03]: about it.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think what we both had to learn was what makes the podcast work is that we act on my, how we act and work together.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which it's not like we're not putting it on like a
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't feel like we acted different than we act off Mike in that episode.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think, but I do think it was also we were so nervous.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like we were recording.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: So we recorded the first what three episodes.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Good for.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: I was and we recorded them like five months before we released them.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: So we were batching episodes and we were going to them times I edited that episode.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I can't even imagine.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I sent that episode to front of the pot Amber.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: She was the first person who ever heard it outside of the movie.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: And Marissa and Marissa.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, listen to this.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, if you think this is something that should not see the light of day, should not come up on the internet.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Please pick up.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: Don't protect my feelings.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: You are, you are protecting my feelings by saving me from this.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: We, even listening to it, I got like a little emo thinking about it because I was like, I know we were committed to doing this at that time, but thinking about how fucking far we've come and how much we've accomplished and done since then.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm really proud of us.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we've really, it's crazy.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of made something here.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I,
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Although of course we like hoped and dreamed and of course we're saying that that was gonna happen.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if we really knew that it would and I definitely didn't I didn't I didn't I wasn't sure we were gonna finish it really
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I thought maybe we'd finish the show, but I didn't think that it would, I didn't think we'd keep going necessarily.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_03]: But I think there was a lot that was just like, I don't know.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, anything can happen.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I was, I think maybe I wasn't attaching a prediction to it at that point.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: We also both, oh, I remember having a conversation with you before we recorded you were ready to go.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and I was, but I was said to you.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, we're finishing it.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like we have to.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't want this to be a flop because so many people start podcasts and they just took her out and like that's fine.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like no judgment.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot of fucking work and that's one of the reasons that I'm like so proud of us now as we're revisiting that.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and also at one point in that episode, we set our ages and it was like a jump scare.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: Twenty six and twenty one.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it makes me sick to my stomach.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: Is that not crazy?
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: For some reason, my mind was twenty seven.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: When we started it, but no, when we first recorded it, we started on my twenty seventh birthday.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: That was the day that we released the first three episodes.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 3:42[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my God.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: So we were recording this episode in our parent's basement in the play room.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a point in the episode also that I can hear at least my voice get to like a hushed quality.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still pretending to like at some point.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we were told to be quiet.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think so too.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was wondering why we started, because in the beginning of the episode, we were so energetic.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then it was like, energetic.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now we're in a library.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Granddad, we were recording it like two in the morning.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: We used to record you guys literally like found time.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_03]: Whenever we could find it, especially if I was home, like in the beginning or like when I was still in college, like I would, I feel like often times it was like,
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: I would go work a shift at Taco.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_03]: And then after that, I have to comment we'd record the podcast.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, come home and edit like, oh my gosh, this used to be like low key perfect night like I would have
- 4:38[SPEAKER_03]: I would have gay, gay, or whoever was in the kitchen that night, make me to go nachos at Taco.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_03]: In one time, Marissa made me, um, she can bind, like the crown beef in the, in the brisket, like the brisket in the chicken.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_03]: She can bind certain meats on the flat top to put on the nachos.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: Best thing ever had in my life.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_03]: And guys, these nachos are like,
- 5:00[SPEAKER_03]: crazy.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they were like layered with caso.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the best.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: They were like a master news.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're truly wearing.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_03]: I trust that restaurant doesn't exist now.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: You guys the restaurant that we both worked at.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I would get that and I would come home and mom and dad like weren't
- 5:18[SPEAKER_03]: I would be alone at the house in Lebanon for the summer and like I'd sit at the kitchen and like do just do that and eat those nachos or like I'd watch them before and then at it.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: And but I just stay up.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: We would mean we used to really like I mean all night like we would stay up until like three a.m.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: doing it and like
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, you didn't have, you were in college, but like in the summer, I would go to a full nine to five the next day.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know how I was doing that.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I do not know how I was doing that.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we were doing that.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: There, there wasn't longevity to that system, and yet here we are.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we all, because guys, we started recording.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: We, we're our friends at Gilmore to say podcast.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: We work with them.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: They are amazing.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: And so they, this seems so obvious, but like wisdom they gave us was unique.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: That a weekly recording time.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's also so funny because we were like,
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think you and me both was unspoken that we just weren't going to do more than I just weren't going to do that.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and then we were like why the fuck have we been doing this we were like talking to Tara and Haley and we were like explaining any issues that we had like been having illustrations and they were like
- 6:30[SPEAKER_03]: crazy.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think let's get to a shared calendar.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: I had a chunk of time.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which we don't really use the calendar, but yeah, they were like just plan around your schedules and just say, this is our sacred recording time.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: And like, of course, there are weeks where that's not our sacred recording time and we don't do it.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: But like, but we're also sisters.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: So it would be a little like for them.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's like,
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: They are friends.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, workers.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: So it's a little bit different to be like, hey, I need to sleep in the morning.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: Where is that is and also like, not that it's not a job to us, but it's like, it's there.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, a hundred percent.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we, but now it's like,
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: Once we just decided to do that to be like, okay, Sunday morning is a record.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: It was like not an issue.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: It was just like, okay, that's just what we do now.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it has made our lives much easier to like not have to squeeze in recording and editing for you during, you know, the weeks and it allowed me to like do a little more with social, but so that was one thing.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think also something else.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: that we realize along the way doing this podcast is we don't know how people have podcasts who aren't sisters or siblings because there are so like our mom has been a mediator not that we haven't like had any like fights but we get annoyed with each other on air you guys know that like where sisters and that's part of the reason you guys really like us and there was a minute there where I feel like we thought we shouldn't let them in on that part of us and then people really actually liked that part of us
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: But that was something we found along the way.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: It was like, oh my god, I feel like it honestly probably came out of us fighting one time in one of us saying, and you have to keep that in so that they can hear like, yeah, what actually happened.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's probably, yeah, I was probably like, no, because Caroline's going to try to like, oh, I love how she's going to think I'm going to take.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, I'm just saying because I edit.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_03]: So I know I know it's our, I'm probably keeping one of your friends Caroline, her boys back.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_03]: like I'm sure there were times where Caroline would like we would fight and then Caroline would try to clean it up with what she said afterwards and I'd be like I'm keeping all of that in so they can hear exactly it was fight yeah yeah there I mean a hundred percent
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we weren't sure if people were going to give a fuck about us.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: I remember we were like, okay, we should look for some pretty little layers related topics to discuss in the beginning of the episode, sort of like warm us up, get us into it.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: Before we realize that anybody was going to be interested in us.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: And this first happens with only like ten minutes we talk enough where they have to get right and I also remember when we first started you had like a lot of ideas in terms of how we would structure things when back when I think before we landed on like just doing a scene by seeing ring up.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: where you were like, okay, then we'll have a segment in the episode where I'll talk about the fashion for like five minutes, and then you'll like talk about the music for five minutes.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: And then I think we truly realize it like that's just not how it was.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, the music, the music and pre-aliers was never.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: There are iconic songs because you know, watch what you said.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: But like, it wasn't like gossip grow where like young people know.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's very true.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: It is like.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_03]: Don't trust me.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_03]: It starts this show, but then like the final song in the pilot, like that's not it's not a Justin Timberlake song.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's the song that people only know because it's the last song I've ever played in the last show.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: And we just had like no idea where like no and that was also we've talked about this before, but we used to watch it in real time.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_02]: So we'd watch it together.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: Not only would we watch it together, but we would watch like one scene.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: And if we were being lazy, we would watch like three scenes in a row.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then we would pause it.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we took some notes while we were watching that we would write down what we wanted to say.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: And then we would record for however long about those three long time to start making notes.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_03]: I have to go back and look to see what the first episode I took notes for was.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_03]: to me, it was like we're just going to talk well with you.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and we used to guys, we used to do that also when I was in college.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, when we would record on Zoom, we would still watch it together.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: We would watch it.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: We would take us like six hours.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like it took us, we weren't doing two episodes a week at that time.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: It took so long.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, oh my god.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's just funny to think back on all these things that like we've learned ways we've gotten better and also like one of the things that people love about our show when I talk to people about it.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, I love that it is truly beat for beat.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like you don't skip anything.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like you get into the weeds and listening back to this pilot episode.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, we did that from the Gekko.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like we broke down.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: Have you saw them breaking down?
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: was on the board.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like we really did everything like that from the get go.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that was another thing like the attention to detail in the show.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: There are a lot of recap podcasts.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure that just kind of talk about the.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, as pretty little Irish true crime kind of did where it was like they just talked in.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for them to talk.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: And it's this kind of, we said in the pilot, we wanted it to be that if you are listening to our podcast, you don't also have to watch the show.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to watch it to know what's happening.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that that has stayed true throughout all of it.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: And including our pilot recaps, like we do that two on the Patreon, which is neat.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: I also just think about, I got this sort of like nerds listening to it, where I was like thinking about starting a podcast from a thin air.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: is so scary to think about and like I know we did it and we're moving into new territory for the podcast and I'm so grateful that we don't have to start with the knowledge that we had and we are twenty-six and twenty-one we have people that are listening we have an audience but like back then like okay bravery okay brave of us to do we're talking like thank you for listening who the fuck is listening but people were like
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: People we knew were less than shut out Daniel Daniel.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: We love you.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: You've been here.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: There have been a lot of people who have been here since day one, but Daniel was a vocal from day one.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_03]: We just we just know his handle.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_03]: We just he's always been commenting and so supporting another one.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, Daniel and Dylan are the names that stick out from like the very early.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: but there are a lot of you and i'm sorry that we don't it's a lot of like handles that's what we have to remember to remember that but it's phobie forever phobie forever phobie forever fell off unless they just had a handle change never forget so we forever started getting mad at us i think she got her phone taken away maybe got her phone taken away that's my take
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, it's just, it's so funny to think about, we used to kind of do like mini punch bowls in the episodes.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: We really got with the liars like coffee orders being we would do that kind of a thing.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, which we still even do now.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: But the world building was there.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: The connal lore was there.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like the bones of our show were really there from the first day.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's kind of cool that like we really finished it the way we began it.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: In turn, we've gotten better, but it's also like
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: We really stayed true to the show and people who loved the first episode are gonna love the last one and that's I think like not true of every show and then if we only could have known Phoebe like what would have happened Imagine telling twenty six and twenty one year old us that page and Jenna were gonna have that Christy Carlson Ramano as well Was it gonna happen you care that much about her last night and then it goes who do you care more about mows or CCR?
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: was like probably Moses, like who do I like like least he's what he was asking is like probably those yeah yeah and he was like oh because I just found out that Christy Carlson and Ronald got shot and I was like that's all news that's all news is fine and by the way she's fine but if we would have known that if we would have known that we would have gotten Sarah Shepard on our podcast and that not only would she be like
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: on the show, but like, friend of the pod.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, she interacts with almost everything we post.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: She, we text, like, she is a cool girl.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: We love Sarah Shepherd.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: There are just so many things.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: If you would have told us that we would have had like a thriving Patreon that we would have started doing two episodes a weekend doing pop culture.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: That Marlene King would have finally reposted.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: That was that was huge.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I texted Kimmy and she couldn't.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just because we we used to like scream at Marlene by name every week when we would rush the show.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's just me and so thinking back on Little Phoebe who loved this show with everything in her and still loves a show.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: But Little Phoebe is the person who drummed up this podcast, which I think is hilarious to think about because everyone who knows us, no one ever believes that this is a good idea like to talk and do my honesty.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'll shout out.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was like, I think it was my friend Lauren from college.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_03]: She was like, I was rewatching the show and I would go, I think I might have said this in the episode, but like I would go down to the desk and just like talk about it.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're off about it.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Lauren was like, she's like shot up and do this on the mic, doesn't it podcast, so you know, she was just like, I remember something about like a podcast.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, but I want you.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, it's just, yeah, it's me.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love, I love our podcast.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love the pretty little podcast.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: I love you Phoebe.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: I love our listeners.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm really just, I love these girls in the show, even though we're hard on them.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_03]: It's such a big part of our lives everywhere.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: So, okay, a few things you want to get into with this pilot episode before we let you listen to the actual pilot.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so one of the things we started with, as we said, who do we relate to?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Who do we think we're the most like as the liars?
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: Your answer cracked me up, because you said, I think I've seen myself in everyone except for Sponsor.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if I knew that anymore.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Some of your art of things.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think that I would want to be more like Spencer than I am.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_03]: I love Sponsor.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: I love Sponsor, too.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_03]: Emily feels like such a package deal to Hannah that it's hard to put her in spot number three but like if I'm thinking really objectively like it's Hannah well this is you thinking of your favorites but like in terms of like we don't always relate to our favorites as much as we want to know I still feel that I think I feel I still felt how I felt about that you know shamefully are you asking but I see a lot of Hannah and you
- 16:33[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I want to see that's like the highest compliment.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: It really is and I love that we nailed that in the first episode that was one.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was listening not to pat myself on the back, but I was like by the end of this by the end of the whole show like you realize Hannah is truly the smartest of them and like she I don't know if we really even touched on her loyalty yet, but like we knew who Hannah yeah, we knew Hannah was at a very
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: really exactly exactly.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: Now we we knew and we also knew who Ariah was except for there's one immediately decided we called her so fast we called her so fast and one thing I have to say that I need to we need to set the record straight on this watching the pilot back because we talked about how when Ariah and Emily walk into the classroom and they see Hannah and we're like oh Hannah's like a bitch sort of like Hannah's like mean to Ariah and Ariah's like what's that about
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: Looking back now, I'm like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah reacted the exact right way because aren't you sitting there like, that's Hannah?
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like she is being mean.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Hannah just doesn't know it.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she probably can see on your face that you're shocked to see what it is.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: And like you love this kind of like, you didn't speak to any of her friends, are you?
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like so someone needs to make an edit of when did you get hot of Hannah?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my, okay, already got my nights work cut out for me now.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: Boom.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Except for she was always hot.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: She was always hot.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: She was always hot.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: She was always hot.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: She was in one hand and everybody realizing that.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: Or did it with Mona might be better.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: Mona and Hannah.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: Mona and Hannah, okay, yeah.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: Or you know what, Arya, going from golf to that's another funny thing because Arya is like, uh, so embarrassed about her former pink streaks.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: Emily is like, last time I saw you, I think you had pink streaks in your hair.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: And Arya goes, uh, just when your parents told you to be who you are and you don't know who you are.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, okay, it was a year ago.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: Thinking about, yeah, you're talking about it.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_03]: You're twenty years ago.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: You're not going to die in your hair.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: We, it's seeing the role that they put Emily in in the pilot is also interesting because she's kind of our lay of the land giver.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about her in our pilot as like a secondary character.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: She's giving friend of the show comes in and walks through.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of trail.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Janice and Damian.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's the what's his name and ten things I hate about you walking them through.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know, um, and, um, but we also we mentioned the shamancial smirk, which this was pre-mechanal bedrock.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: It was, and I was actually not even, not even pre or friendship with her.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, pre her making her videos.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: When I listened back to this episode, I actually kept thinking about Megan Albedres, and I was like thinking about her listening to our episodes, because I don't think she listened to our podcast before she came on our podcast.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: And now she's a huge podcast fan and, uh, and a friend we love.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I, I like going to hang out with Megan so bad.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's another thing, like people that we've gotten to me and like, talk to you.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: Here's what we're going to have to do eventually.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, where it's going to take a minute for us to get here, what we need to take a pod trip to LA, meet Megan, go to the Warner Bros.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: The Rose with Lot.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know why we haven't been invited, but yeah, so if you guys want to start dropping hints, that'd be great.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just keep talking.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: We know you guys can get someone's attention.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: We know how powerful you are.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, guys.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, guys, do you remember that?
- 19:46[SPEAKER_02]: I just wanted to like bring you all back to how you went Swiftie asked on them.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: You literally treated us as though we were the Taylor sort of your lives and like I will never get very cold for that.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we were supposed to as Gabrielle and Jenna was Maddie Haley and you guys came for them.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, we nailed Emily the way we talked about her and we really nailed all.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: We really, really, really didn't yell at except for it's funny because I talk about how much I love Spencer and over and over again.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then somebody, I don't hate her, but someone mentioned that during the Spale of Era, it was funny because they were like re-listening.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, this is a Spencer love podcast.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then I like fucking hate her, but that's not true.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: But speaking to people that we hate, you say in the pilot that Melissa is the worst character in the show, do you still feel that way?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: After all the lore we've given to her, I can't say that.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: At that time, I hadn't been privy to that information.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: But also like, that's a crazy statement to say that she's the worst character that she was thinking of the people that are on that show.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: And so like, and I think it also came from a place of loving Spencer so much and like, really not like in the way that Melissa
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: And not only the way that Melissa did it come from a place of you being a younger sister and and being like a older sister's or nasty.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, but I'm not saying, but like I think that, okay, seeing the way that Melissa was able to kind of turn the whole family on Spencer in a lot of instances really wrote me the wrong way.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: And also adding, I don't think I was thinking about this at that point, but
- 21:19[SPEAKER_03]: Imagine if Melissa, here we go, rolled building again.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: Imagine if Melissa knew that Spencer wasn't biologically VV's daughter, and did that.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_03]: You still was like, turning the night out.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's the good way.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: And so does she know that?
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if Peter was unclear when Spencer asked if Melissa though.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: He said Melissa knows what we tell her or something like that.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we didn't know.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: But I believe that Melissa and in less something crazy happens in the last few episodes, I believe Melissa would like late on.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know she would.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think I had to really examine any of the characters.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: True.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's why it's kind of interesting to hear your take on it and that first thing because you probably never imagined the depth that I saw it.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: I knew it and it's a good thing that I found that for you.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_03]: Because I want to make a super cut of everything we've ever said about memily because it's so fucking funny.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_03]: I love the scenes where like, well, I think it was when they thought that's Melissa killed someone.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: CC.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and Emily was like hot.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: Emily was like Emily was like Emily was like, oh, I know it was Melissa and I can't tell you why I know it was Melissa, but she's capable of that.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: That was Emily's vibe.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: There was one point where we were like, then Emily leaves the barn and she goes to Melissa's room.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: You guys if you listen to our podcast from the beginning you've gotten very good at starting like truth from fiction
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: because or like even fiction from like extra extra fiction because the show is fiction itself but like sometimes we don't say that like what we're saying isn't real like you just have to know imagine someone's never seen this show and they heard us say in the first episode you can you can listen to this without watching the show so they just truly think every and they think that Emily and Melissa
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Genius genius we find out that's why we have all these people who love the show because they're like created something they're like we don't have to watch it.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's this new world.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_03]: They created it yeah I Think Melissa such a go to character honestly nowadays and I don't know if it's just the older sister I also probably also one of our big storylines about Melissa that we think makes her kind of redeemable character is when she makes like she tells Spencer what she did for her right and I think video tape
- 23:51[SPEAKER_03]: And you're just like listening not having to write a single thing down or like not dedicating a whole new life to the show.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: You're like a large portion.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_03]: Melissa just as a shitty older sister.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_03]: And you're not thinking about the kind of thing.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like the depth of these characters really.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_03]: You're just like, yeah.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_03]: And also that's buried in seven seasons of like a lot of stuff.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: I just realized I don't remember my reason God and I say I don't know either.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: Thank God the greatest the greatest showman is what I just called the life of a show girl Taylor's new album.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: Thank God it's coming out on October third because
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: I need to make an edit to eldest daughter with Melissa here.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's for sure.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: And also favorite daughter by Lord with favorite daughter is coded for both of them.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, hundred percent.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: It should be it should actually be an edit of them both.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_03]: It wouldn't be the pretty little podcast of it to go quite a little tangent right here.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to say.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I love catching all the little Easter eggs and freakier Friday about Lindsey low-hand's career.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't like Meredith Blake is in it.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes, that was awesome.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_03]: Love that.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_03]: I've been her wedding as the weekend of October third.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_03]: And you're like, there's a scene where you're like, oh my God.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just like, I love.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_03]: We always talk about like, we kind of don't like when celebrities want to put pieces of their career past them.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: And Lindsay will hand it and she's someone who would make him please.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: I apologize if she didn't want to do that if they did.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I totally.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_03]: I thought that really was sweet to me.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_03]: And like I've seen the bloopers and how much fun was he low in and Meredith like we're having.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the bloopers were almost my favorite part.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like I was just also bring back blooper whales.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: We used to get them in the movies and they were fun.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: This was really, really fun to have.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like they seem like they were having the best time.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: I was living for it.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so back to this.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: We also said since we're about to be going into gossip girl, let's just talk about it.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: We set up a time that like this show, we felt like was pretty on par with gossip girl in terms of scandal and whatever.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: Do we still feel that way?
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: You're my thoughts.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's just such a different, so different.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_03]: And I think at the time, but also not.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_03]: I see in retro, spec, it seems more scandalous than it did watching it around the first time.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_03]: Like the teacher, but like I think God's of girl was just more willing to have them.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_03]: And so was pretty alias, but they weren't like a little like sneaky about it.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they just, I mean, if they had ultimately not had as run area end up together, it was like they tried to like erase the scandal.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: I love it a little bit by having them end up together.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, any of those storylines you have in Gossip Girl, it stays a scandal.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's like a morning.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: So a few things I want to revisit from the pilot.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Arianna is our first meeting.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, that cheeseburger moment is exactly how we described it.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: Can I get a cheeseburger?
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry to anybody.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry to anybody work here.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: It says if she turns as her face, it is like, I'm sorry to you, like, as anyone taking your award, you have a beer.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, great.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you're a man.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: Hello.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: Can I get a fucking cheeseburger?
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know, vegan, get a freaking cheeseburger in the town or is it showing my God?
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: She gets it back.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, and is this impossible me?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_03]: And they're like, you don't know what you're like.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, you can't look at me.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_03]: You can't look at me.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: You can't look at me.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: You can't look at me.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: You can't look at me.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: You can't look at me.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: You can't look at me.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_03]: You can't look at me.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_03]: You can't look at me.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_03]: You can't look at me.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: You can't look at me.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: You can't look at me.
- 27:20[UNKNOWN]: You can't look at me.
- 27:20[UNKNOWN]: You can't look at me.
- 27:21[UNKNOWN]: You
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, I'm sorry, anyone who, like, is like, the Arias of Vegan, don't put eggs in her fake Instagram story.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: You made Caroline watch the pilot things.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, maybe be a fucking purist, thanks.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know when she became a vegan, but it wasn't forever.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: She wasn't born of vegan.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: Jesus Christ.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I thought what would have been so funny is when Ezra does say, what does the band he says?
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: He isn't, and why do they, they should have held like a fucking nonsense.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, he's not happy and is by the way contributes to, because okay, remember.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_03]: When are you going to remember in the world?
- 28:07[SPEAKER_03]: From when are you going to go to that bar?
- 28:11[SPEAKER_03]: A couple episodes ago.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, there's a while ago at this point when they're like trying to cover up.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_03]: And she's like between whether she's with Liam or whatever.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_03]: And someone goes over and hits.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: B-twenty six.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder if that's just the jukebox.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: But like, I think the reason I always set up as a song or a band was because of the number one way he's at it.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: And number two, what he already pointed out would be to where the music came from.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_03]: What song B. twenty six was.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_02]: He literally will exactly, exactly.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_03]: And also, and not actually, actually this one makes total sense.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_03]: Or he has no idea what song this is.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what this song is?
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Are you guys never heard it?
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: Are you just can't think of what to say next?
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: But she wants to keep talking to you guys.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: I love this song and he says B. Twenty-six and she's like,
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: And then he has to be like like a great taste of music or whatever like But our world building when we were like Arya is at this bar she gets a beer and she like can't believe all the shit walks in the room and she's like Okay, everybody's looking at me
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: Oh wait, when does this go, when the pilot?
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, when she's at the bar when she hears B. Twenty-six.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: I know because unfortunately when I just never knew about it.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's not something Sarah can explain to us, but she would.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: She would.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: She would.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_03]: It looked on Broadway before.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_03]: I'm pretty sure it's not on here.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: But that song that plays is happiness by the phrase.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like B. twenty six is referenced by him again later or something.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: But it's the name of his.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's the name of the poem, right?
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: And it's B. H. twenty six.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: We got to figure this out.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: Can someone fucking answer me about this?
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, Lucy.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, really.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_03]: I want you like a live studio audience.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_03]: You're like waiting for them to speak up.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's like your teacher being like in the Declaration of Independence was signed.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: What come on you guys am I really gonna have to call on somebody?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's that vibe We'll write this down because you might have an episode in the future that might give us an opportunity to at least ask this question to somebody who maybe has some idea about it, but might not really But just write it down because it's something that we want to know.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: Okay at the very least we'll be good to get this person's take I wonder if it's something she's even thought about
- 30:49[SPEAKER_02]: probably isn't she's probably going to think we're weird, but that's fine.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: Sherry knows that.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, um, yeah.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: So that's crazy.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: And then also we say so far.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely does.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, why are you guys doing a podcast?
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Can you know she's like, we're in.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: Um, anyway,
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: the other thing it's so funny about this moment is like we say in this pilot and I rewatching the pilot I felt the exact same way.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Show me what happens on the way to the bathroom.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: I need to know how they get there.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: And they are kissing as though they've known each other for years.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: There's a moment that very close back and looks and everyone's like shakes her head and I'm like girl.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but like watching it now, I'm just like, and I stand by what I said.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's like truly one of the hottest things I've ever seen in my whole life.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's why it work.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's why they worked, but like it is just so goofy.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: So okay, one thing you and I got in a little fight about in the pilot is did already a lie because he says what what are you majoring in and she says I'm leaning towards English.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: And you were adamant that she was lying and I was like, I think she just circumvented the truth.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't adamant, but adamant she was lying.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go again, classic.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a form of lying.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: Because she knows what he's really at.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_03]: And the assumption of the conversation is that she, that he, like, that's the assumption of the conversation.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_03]: But like, yeah, he's, and she's not, she's letting him think that.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's what she wants.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: And she's also, and I'm not blaming her for this, and I'm not blaming her for how the relationship continues.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: But she is like, she in this moment, in this day, he doesn't think he's, I mean, I guess, no, you know, I know that.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he does though.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: From the same thing, he's forgetting.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: We keep forgetting this.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like if we pretend he didn't know her and like it's how you watch it.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, watch the pilot.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's like she is lying and letting him think she's older than he is, so then like he's not breaking the law in his brain.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, other question for you.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Because obviously we know that he did know Arya and he knew who she was and he was purposely interested.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: One, do you think that he knew who she would be in his class?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: I've always wondered that.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's a good question.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_03]: Here's what's so hard is because so much of the show was kind of like as we go.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, totally.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: So we're figuring out what the plot is, yeah.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_03]: So like, it's hard to say because his react, because you can't, it's same with Dan being gossip girl.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, yeah, you watch it through that lens, but there's so much in the beginning of the show that is a point in the Dan isn't gossip girl at all.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I think like, you see as a reaction in the first day of school and it feels really genuine and legitimate.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: And like, if it isn't, if you did know she was gonna be there, why did you do that?
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly, because now everybody's like, why are you trying to blow up your spot?
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the other thing I have to say.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: If the, it is so crazy when that happens and that's seen in every single person turns their entire body around the area.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's so when I see one.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like, are you fucking kidding me?
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was the only slut in this town, at least in this class.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_02]: God damn it.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: I have to do something crazy tonight.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to do it.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to lean over and take my future brother in Los Angeles out of his hand.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: Vodka soda and take a sip and leave my red lipstick.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think she thought he'd sit down in the table and she was, I'll take a vodka soda.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Or okay, since her.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what she orders.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: I hated when I'm watching it because I was like, don't do this.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like, don't Spencer's the victim.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: Don't set her up to not be the victim.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what they kind of do in that moment with her and Ren, where like, she's sitting there.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, she's wearing the top that Hannah told her to get specifically because it would draw attention.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: She's sitting there and the way that she is looking at Ren the way she is speaking to Ren.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's her intention there, especially knowing that this is already happened.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: So she's seeing this as a viable option.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now we know it's already happened because she was taking advantage of and she's being taken advantage of by Ren as well.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm that's not up for debate.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: I just wish that they hadn't set it up in this way, we're like, she's teasing him.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Which is the way that she is approaching.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's not how much she looks for.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: Especially in the mall scene, like when she's wearing the blazer in her hair.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: So she looks forty years old.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I just, I'm like, don't set her up to be like this siren.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, I don't know.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I just, but seeing Ren again and knowing that who actually allowed me to be the lasting impact.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of his mannerisms remind me of the guy from Freak Year Friday.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_03]: The husband.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, oh, maybe.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: They really remind me of each other.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: And trust me.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the guy from the good place.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_02]: He is, yes, love him.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: He is such a little cutie, but also he does, I stand by what I said.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: He has the suds.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: He looks like he has the suds, especially in that first scene when he comes out of the bar, not so much.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_03]: And he knows it's all red, but yeah.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's probably because it was so cold there because you know what, I mean, that's when they were wearing their hugs and bikinis.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: because they were in favor.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: No right, of course.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God, never forgot.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: Never forgot when we were all in Vancouver.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_02]: Never forgot when we were all in Vancouver.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: What a time that was.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we said you said that we grow to love Allia by the end of the show.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: and that she really becomes somebody like we really love and root for.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thoughts on that now.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that's the general consensus of how people feel generally, especially now.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_03]: But what I do stand by is that's how we felt at the end.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like everybody, I mean, I remember the discourse online, but everybody was so excited about Emily and Ali.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's definitely how we were meant to feel.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the MSN Ripple makes it easier to feel that way because we want to root for Emily and Emily so good, you know what I mean?
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like if Ali's with her, how bad can she be?
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: If because Emily is just so good.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that opinion has had some patina on it because I think that
- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: Especially when you watch it in more of a condensed way, you're like, how many can you be if you were ever acting the way that Ali was?
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly my point.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, this is funny.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: I was looking up some trivia.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: So initially, Ali Sasha was tapped to be Hannah.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: But Marlene thought she was too young to play a shoplifter on ABC family.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go, let's just have her doing all this.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_03]: Have her, like, have her, like, have her, like, have her, like, you, do you stand by you?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: And I think you probably stand by this opinion, but do you stand by this in terms of, like, Sasha's acting prowess at that age?
- 37:37[SPEAKER_03]: You were, like, it's easier to play mean.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I do think it's easier to play me.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_02]: However, watching her and there was a line that I picked up on this time watching the pilot that I haven't previously.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's when she and Arya are running away from Mona on the flashback and I like goes, what a loser.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Or something.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: And she says it in such a loser.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: She says it in some way that like,
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: As much as I do think it's easier to act mean and have it be, because like mean TV characters are often so much meaner than like real life people, at least outwardly, that it's net.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: There's always a degree of like dramatization.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: There's always a degree of this isn't feel real, but Sasha Peter said does make it feel real.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: And she is the girl.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I think part of it is her age.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: How close she is an age to this type of girl having to act.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, she's like the girl.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: She's like the girl.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: She means middle school high school girl.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like she, she's got it down and it feels very real.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas a lot of Mona's mean lines feel very put on.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: Now they're delivered with the perfect amount of camp and like ever they're per kind of people.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_03]: right even like with Hannah when Hannah is not that Hannah's ever mean but when she's she's not playing the kind of mean like Ali but there is she's trying to be like Ali a little bit yeah and with I mean in this I think this makes Hannah more endearing is that it's not as believable but like Ashley Benson has to Jake deeper maybe than Sasha Petersa does
- 39:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think so too.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think Sasha Peter said, though, she is acting circles around these girls.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know what I like what you said, but like we couldn't have had like a couple more like bonding moments before this first scene.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: I would have loved them to be feel closer.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: What I will say, I do think it works for them.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: Here's what I'm going to say.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_03]: Spencer and Ali may be needed more bonding time because they're on the most equal playing field of the trail.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: But the awkwardness and the timidness and the unsureness works.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_03]: for Emily and Oreo.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_03]: And Oreo.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, you know, you're right.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like it kind of makes you feel like you're totally right with Ali.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a really, really good point.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like they are the two that feel they are vying for her love and affection and attention the most.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: Aria is like, I'm different and that's like, you know, I am different.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: We're a Spencer and Ali are vying to be queen B. So it's like they're all they all are kind of looking for something different.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: from Ali, I think, Arias thing is like, look, Ali likes me and I don't even have to try.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to change anything about myself.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little weird trip that I may hear exactly.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I don't know.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's a really, really good point.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I didn't, I don't know if he notices the first time around, but like, I know the girls are falling asleep, like in their clothes, like it doesn't seem like they meant to fall asleep.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: But Emily and Hannah are both in comfy clothes, and I know, again, that's like part of their characters at the time.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: Are you a falls asleep on the floor?
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I just need to point out that she's wearing healed boots, like at least a few weeks ago.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: She's like in a Tina Cohen chain outfit, I feel like.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, she's wearing Asian her own medals.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: Belts over her clothes, of course, always over the clothes.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: But she's wearing a metal belt that I know was pressing and must be sleeping.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: And she's too long necklaces with like pendants on them.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: And she was sleeping on the floor.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm just immediately, I'm just like no fucking way.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: like it just put her in PJ's come on for real, but we get it.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: We know we're whole thing, but I guess it's like the only scene we really get of her as Gothoria.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean to do besides like the flashbacks so they had to like lean into that.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, a couple other things.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's like Emily and Maya for a second.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's funny because I do end up falling in love with Maya.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like I do, I miss her and I did love her for Emily at some point.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: But in this pilot, I stand by everything.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_02]: She's so fucking annoying.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: She's so annoying.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm corrupting you.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: like her.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: That was such a good line.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: And Emily's eye flicker and the shavings were like that pairing.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, that wasn't like in the way that you did.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: And the best one of my eyes is like, can I, what did she say?
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: Would it be totally crazy for me to ask you to help me?
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: Because the song that she goes, um, yeah, I was in then she doesn't like laugh.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_03]: But the song, but I mean, whenever they're in that, whenever they're in Maya's room, which is like, is it really the deal of interest house or is it not?
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then it stops though when she says, so I'm corrupting you.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: It goes step on what I got done.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: And then it goes back into it.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably not going to happen.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's stopping from the purpose.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: She says that.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, she has the shimitual smirk and then they smoke weed.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, which is I still think it's crazy.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm late smoke weed.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like Emily, were you just spying less to afraid to say no, like just waiting literally can't do that for someone.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know, like, what is happening here?
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: I still think the moment is still iconic, the some people dream of making it out.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_02]: All her Canadian out.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's, and I love it.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to have to address puts those in her videos.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: She, and not taking credit for those for her genius, but like did she start doing that before we, she listen to the podcast?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: Probably.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_03]: Probably.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to give it to her probably.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: Me too.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to feel listening.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: I have a rock here.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: It is such a good pilot.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: Are there funny things just about us?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: The way we wrapped it up?
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know when we stopped doing that, but we.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: That was shocking.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_02]: We signed off at the exact same ago.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: And this was, let's see where I now went to three.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: The pretty little podcast.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we would never be able to do it virtually, but that's why we stopped.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder, guys, can you all let us know?
- 43:25[SPEAKER_03]: Well, someone tagged us when we first said, did we ever do it again?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_03]: And I didn't even, like, we probably did it in the first three episodes.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_03]: But my question is, did you listen back to when Splat started?
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, not yet.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_03]: Neither.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_03]: But we found the opposite.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: But somebody did go back and write it and I'm just saying if you guys are ever going back and listening and you find like a moment that something happened that is lower or like I would love to know which episode was a ceiling episode because you guys love talking about the ceiling.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but like what was the first time we told it?
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: I would love to know like the first tattoo or some really good tattoos.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like there are things that we just we would love to know about.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: So if you find any of those, please just make a little comment on the episodes so we can go find it.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Last thing I want to say is we're about to go into the pilot our pilot episode and at the very end of it, we sign off and we give a different pretty little liar or pretty little podcast Instagram handle because at that time we changed after the incident in twenty twenty four.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: Our new handle in case you don't know, don't get confused.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's at the pretty little podcast the Owen podcast is a zero on Instagram on TikTok.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's just at the pretty little podcast and you should be following us on both places because if you're not following it, you're only getting half the story.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_03]: That's what they say, right?
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's what they say.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: So guys, this is our little revisit of the pilot of our pilot.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we're gonna bring you guys back in.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy the very first episode of the Pretty Little Podcast.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let us know what you think.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for being with us on this ride.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, hope you've had the best Labor Day ever.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_03]: I know one, free at last.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: Free at last.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're all gonna be saying.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: We finish the show.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: Just kidding, right?
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna be crying yourself to sleep.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: All right, all right, we're getting into it and splat, splat.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: Hello and welcome to the pretty little podcast where you're hosts.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Phoebe and I'm Caroline and we are just some pretty little sisters.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_03]: Ready to dive back into the cultural phenomenon that was pretty little liar.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: The just electrifying series of my life.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'll never get back.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: And you're choosing to waste even more of your ears.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I rewatched pretty little ires back in April.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: And I got through it in about three weeks, like the entire thing.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_03]: And I texted Carolyn and I said, did you ever finish pretty little ires?
- 45:57[SPEAKER_03]: Because the ending is truly a whirlwind that you just feel like you have to tell every single person you've ever met about because you just don't understand.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like there are a lot of people that watch pretty little liars that didn't feel like they had to tell every single person that they've ever met about it, but I did not know how it ended.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: No, I did not finish it.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: I did not finish it, but that's going to make this journey even more exciting, I think.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be tough to bite my tongue a little bit, but we're excited to dive in.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk everything from the musical decisions to the fashion decisions.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: Lots about the fashion.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_03]: And honestly, I'm remembering a lot more of the writing that was really just it's so dated.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think also we're going to do a lot of focusing on just like
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: the legality of it all and these storylines that these were supposed to be high schoolers.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and like they're only twenty-four hours in a day.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I understand this was sort of like inspired by gossip girl, the greatest show of all time, but this show is significantly worse.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: I would say worse than gossip girl in terms of like what these people are always doing.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: Would you agree?
- 47:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I just think it's more criminal.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think that in gossip girl
- 47:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's a little bit more Pauline sometimes.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Serena Van der Woodson killed a man with cocaine.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that was.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_03]: I would say they're pretty much on par, actually not of that.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really thinking about some of the stuff that goes down in gossip girl.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fair.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: But the difference is that this was on ABC family.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: This was advertised as like four high schoolers about high schoolers.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, oh, I'm gonna like see myself on the screen.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_03]: So is gossip girl?
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: No, it wasn't four high school.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: I remember distinctly after I got in a trouble for watching gossip girl when I mom thought it was to inappropriate.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I was driving down some road and not a flex, but Hollywood.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I was in eighth grade and like there was a bill.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: There were all those just come out.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_02]: No, they're all these billboards for gossip girl and one of them said your mother is worst nightmare or whatever.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: The show and that really like stuck with mom.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think they were saying that about this show.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think they were like, well, parents certainly weren't happy about this show because for me, I remember watching this show as a young kid, as your younger sister.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_02]: Phoebe is six years younger than me.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's important to note for the podcast.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_03]: So I was... I was ten when the show came out.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_03]: And I would wait for Caroline to watch her DVR recorded pretty little iris episodes.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I would go down to the basement and watch them.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_03]: And I would stand an inch away from the TV, volume one.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_03]: And any noise in the house, I would turn it off immediately.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: It literally, same degree of like intensity and secrecy as if you are watching porn.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say it.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's, but it was pretty little higher.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: But it was pretty, which as we've gone back, some of these scenes are like gossip growth level for ABC family.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_03]: And another moment for pretty little iris was when it saw the transition from ABC family to free form free form.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, rocked my fucking world.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: Do not, fix something that's not broken.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_02]: ABC Family was not broken.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_02]: But they had to do it because they were like, we're not releasing a show.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: We're like, this girl's fucking your teacher.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like this girl's fucking her sister's fiance.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's not a family show.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_02]: They like had to come to Jesus' moment with that.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Phoebe, who would you say you relate most to on this show?
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: And let's limit it to the four pretty little liars.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's always been a toss-up for me between everybody but Spencer.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_03]: Really?
- 49:48[SPEAKER_03]: Hannah?
- 49:49[SPEAKER_03]: Well, when I watched her this, when I watched the show the first time, Arya was my favorite because I was also going through a pick-me-phase, I think.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I felt very, I was in love with my English teacher.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_03]: Not like other girls.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_03]: I felt art see-way.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not arguably not like other girls.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not for the reasons, Arya.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't like other, I wasn't reading.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: What was the photo of Phoebe at age eleven on Instagram?
- 50:16[SPEAKER_03]: Hannah, I've related to, you know, and just so as blonde.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and not the brightest.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes, you're smart in your own.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: Special.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think you could say the same for Hannah.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_03]: She honestly pulls through time and time again.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, she does literally shoplift like Gucci sunglasses.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: She is.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_03]: By the time you finish this show, you're like, Hannah is actually the smartest of the four of them.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: Spencer could out of here.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: And Emily, I think I'm quiet and loyal.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like around people like Ali, I would be more like always have that smart on your face.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: What's Mark?
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: You know the Emily, she made a mental mark.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: And like, let's be clear, no, no, Shay Mitchell hate on this pod.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: She is, you're the big girl.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_03]: I also want to get this out of the way.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of people in the discourse that Caroline's not familiar with, they don't like Emily.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_03]: They think she is bland and not a well-written character.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I really enjoy Emily's character.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe because
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'm playing with a lot of character development?
- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, now should I say who I think you're most like?
- 51:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're most relate to.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: I guess like I feel like it's hard to like say any of these girls because you say one of their names and you immediately think of like the scandal or like the things that happen to them.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's like this podcast we are going to look at them for like who they are as a person.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: We're not just looking at the
- 51:44[SPEAKER_02]: awful things that they're doing or the scandals they're involved in.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's like every time I think of like, Ari, I'm like a fuck their teacher.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: And so, it's hard for me to say that you were fine artists.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: She's a writer.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: That is who I would probably say you're the most like just because you also were like brooding in your bedroom writing songs.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's so embarrassing.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well, it is fair.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, who do you?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you see yourself most in?
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: I also had truly felt like when I was watching it, also felt very, like, like felt like I saw myself in Ria because
- 52:19[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone wanted to be Arya, and I think she was fucking your hot teacher.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_03]: But they also, I mentioned this in my notes because a lot of people talk about how in the beginning episodes, it seems like they're making Arya the main character of the show.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: She ends the theme song.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_02]: I honestly think they end up deciding in Spencer is more of the main character.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think, honestly, part of that must have been necessity because Spencer is far and away the best actor on that show.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see it gets like insane.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the acting that girls do it.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_02]: Not to mention the problematic aspects of that storyline for Spencer.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_02]: But Trambles, Arya, did what she could.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_02]: All of these actresses did.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, Arya, I, while I also was like Englishy, like, I, you know, majored in English in college.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I just thought for sure, like, I was deep enough to have an affair with my English teacher.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_02]: Never did.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that'd be very clear.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_02]: But also like big Spencer energy, big Hannah energy.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_03]: I see you mostly now.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_03]: I see you mostly as a Spencer.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_03]: But in high school and for reasons that we'll get into, probably when we talk about Hannah Marin's fashion impact on millennials across the world, I think Caroline was a Hannah in high school for sure.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: Should we just get into it?
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: Should we just start with episode one and kind of walk through it?
- 53:43[SPEAKER_02]: The goal is that whoever is listening to this does not have to rewatch.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_02]: You absolutely can.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_02]: We encourage it.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: Don't like don't have to.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_02]: Three times this year probably is wasted like so many rain cells on this show.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_02]: We're not asking that of you, but we're going to try to make it so that you don't have to.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: And you can check our Instagram, like when we're talking about specific like moments or outfits, we will not leave you in the dark on those because they need to be like brought back.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: from the grave.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: Allah.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: Allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, allah, all
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: primary lyrics don't trust a ho.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_02]: I am absolutely certain.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, like I know when people film shows and films, whatever, they film like out of chronological or this scene absolutely was the first scene these girls shot together.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they needed it.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_02]: They probably needed this the most.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: They could have probably rehearsed a few times like done some done this in real life.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like bond the little bit before they did this.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that like there was an insane age difference between these girls.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like Allison is thirteen when she films them.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then how old is Spencer?
- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think she's the oldest.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_02]: Ryan is twenty four.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_02]: Twenty ten years older.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine having to be bullied by a thirteen year old and not to mention
- 55:18[SPEAKER_02]: A social walks into that barn and immediately is a better actor than every single person in there.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_02]: But also I have to say controversial opinion.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's easier to act mean.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not an actress, so I don't.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: I was the resident actress will tell you it's easier I think to act.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's easier for you to act mean.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fair.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think also for, I don't know, whatever.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's, it's harder for Spencer to do the acting that she does consistently throughout this series.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_02]: Am I in love with Spencer?
- 55:51[SPEAKER_02]: Then Ali does.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, no, that's fair.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: And Ali's acting does not necessarily maintain this level.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_02]: And she's got these like, stinging biting lines.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think really make her like,
- 56:01[SPEAKER_03]: But she's not like you ever ever be so easy for her as a thirteen-year-old to come into that room with those twenty-year-old actresses and be not as convincing as she is.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: But she walks in there.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think we have to say some of the awful thing she says because one of our biggest takeaways while rewatching the show is that Ali is a monster.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: Genuinely is the girl that your mom would be like, please stop hanging out with her like she's the reason you're in therapy.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and for those of you, like me who finished the show out, was dedicated to giving me absolute to the band.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_03]: You'll remember that, by the time the show was over, we loved Ali and Ali was really a kind person.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_03]: She had a great redemption arc.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_03]: And then I remember rewatching this and watching the first episode and being so
- 56:53[SPEAKER_02]: appalled by the things that Ali said that we were just meant to completely forget but we should talk about some of the things that Ali says so like the first thing I would say she walks in Hannah immediately asks her Ali did you download the new Beyonce which is some of the writing we're talking about that is like
- 57:11[SPEAKER_02]: They're like relevancy, relevancy.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_02]: How do we make like girls have like they're having a real conversation after drinking?
- 57:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like let's the most insane thing.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_02]: You should have you downloaded the new Beyonce.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's like God would be the most pressing thing on her mind.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_02]: And Ali, too cool for school says not yet.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_02]: And M then says, I am loving her new music video and Ali hits back.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't
- 57:33[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe a little too much, and absolutely horrifying.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_02]: And Lucy, how looks over like, yeah, bitch.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah looks into her popcorn.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah, who is a hundred and thirty pounds.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah, who literally, like, I can see her collar bones.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, truly, these writers said, ah, it's a hefty Hannah scene.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's throw it in a sweatshirt.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let's put her in the couple layers.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, like, I should just put her hair in a low pony just like we're going to pull her hair down a little bit around her face that you can't see your bone structure.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to put her in like a t-shirt that's not tight.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to put her in like a sweater as well.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_02]: And then that is hefty here.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_02]: And that's enough for us.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_02]: But they do her dirty later.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_02]: I would say.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_02]: And the Sean flashback.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's about to get to that.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_02]: But that I think is the first thing that Alice has that really like immediately.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_02]: We all should have been like, okay.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's so awkward.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_02]: There's no music playing throughout the entirety of the scene.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_02]: And there's so much fake laughing this forced laugh or they're like, you're just having a good time with your friends.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_02]: You are drinking, you're partying.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost right before school.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_02]: You girls are like living your best lives.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're listening to three out three.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: This is a very uncomfortable first scene of an incident.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_02]: higher series.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: Ali goes missing.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer shows up.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's completely, it's fully pouring outside.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer is completely dry.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_02]: Just got to blow out wearing an R-Giles sweater vest over a starched white button down collar shirt.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_02]: And she says, Ali's gone.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think I heard a scream and she says it as calm as she possibly is talking to Arya who, upon when all the girls wake up, I say, where's Allison?
- 59:09[SPEAKER_03]: Where's Spencer?
- 59:10[SPEAKER_03]: First thing she notices is that Allison is gone.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_03]: Arya walks up.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's fully looking at Spencer with a flashlight in her hand.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_02]: And says, Allison.
- 59:20[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_02]: Allison is at you.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer's like, I have dark brown hair always been brown eyes, whatever color I she's.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm wearing it.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm wearing a bright red, our Giles sweater vest and the ugliest jeans you ever seen in your whole life.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_02]: But I must be Allison who was blonde and wearing a yellow shirt.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: I digress.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_02]: The iconic yellow shirt.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_02]: We got to move into probably the most dramatic thing that could happen in the first five minutes of a television show on ABC Family.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_02]: We meet Arya Montgomery.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_02]: We meet Mr. Fitz.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: And we meet Mr. Fitz.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_02]: I really think we need to dissect this bar scene because number one,
- 59:59[SPEAKER_02]: Arya decides to go to the tallest bar in Grail of four, fifteen p.m.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_02]: and sit at the bar.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_02]: As, how would she in this scene?
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_02]: Sixteen.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, she's sixteen.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, well, I just lived in Iceland for a year and they're the drinking ages.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: Sixteen.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I can sit at the bar.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_02]: So it's right at the bar.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_02]: Bartender's fully like doing something.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't ask your order.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, can I have a cheeseburger?
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_02]: She's like incredulous.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, hello!
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_02]: Four, fifteen.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's an awkward time to eat a cheeseburger.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's also one might argue an awkward time to just be sitting in a bar drinking bourbon reading.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: Reading.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, alone.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's it clearly.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like a trendy bar like everyone goes to or like, or maybe it is just not at four, but I think because school starts tomorrow.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: Also, yeah, brother, you're starting your first teaching job tomorrow teaching English at a high school shouldn't she be like preparing your fucking lesson lesson plan running your lines?
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like truly why are you?
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna be hung over tomorrow.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_02]: So already questionable personal life for a teacher.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_02]: I would say.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it gets even worse.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we just say a ten-year-old Phoebe standing an inch away from the TV to the TV screen.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, this is what it's like when you're sixteen.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_03]: She could have been happier to watch that scene a million times.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so then, you know, obviously seeing this beautiful wave of a girl, she's very good for her, who have seen sitting at the bar alone, makes as her face crazy.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_02]: And he has to say something.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_03]: She definitely gives not like other girls pick up.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_02]: Such a pick me girl.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, but it's that we were still rooting for her.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I was rooting for them.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: We were rooting for that.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_02]: I absolutely was the chemistry between Ian Harding and Lucy Hale was unlike anything.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_02]: Did they ever date in real life?
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I do.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_02]: I have gone through his Instagram, like extensively, and he like posts about her all.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: They're so friends.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_02]: And he's still friends with Shayma Trollswell.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like he thinks they're better friends than maybe they are.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_02]: Because he didn't really go anywhere after the show, correct?
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he did go to see me for acting.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_03]: He is some of the best acting training in the show.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_03]: Fun fact.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_02]: Damn.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's a good actor.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_03]: I would agree.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_02]: He talks to her.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_02]: What is the first thing he says to her at the bar?
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_02]: You all write down there.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_02]: Perfect.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_02]: So he's he's nurturing.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's caring.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's already giving us this like older man, caregiver vibe, which is absolutely what she likes about him saying you all write down there.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_02]: Well, she's she's actually not all right.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_02]: Ezra because she's looking at a picture of her dead best friend doesn't know.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_02]: She's dead at the moment.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_02]: would be sixteen as let the sign says like it's like the most dramatic that's the thing offer someone's been missing for a year they're not like front page in the newspaper sad to say they're just not alley takes up the entire front page of like the rosewood tribune or whatever it's not like the rosewood observer not to be a super fan but I just yeah we've already gathered the years
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, then she very swiftly mentions that she's just, you know, but in Europe, and that is so hot to Ezra, because he probably started abroad.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: He did.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: He mentions it.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but he's like, I love it.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's been so fun.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_02]: Right, you Vic.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be clear why, why were you there?
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_02]: You were studying abroad.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_02]: I hate when we were like, I'm so well-traveled.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, you did a semester like in Italy.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like, are you fully lived there with your family?
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: Which?
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_02]: as we're going to found out if you had not been talking about himself.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, but I also think Ariad is a lot of talking about herself.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_02]: Fair enough.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I just graduated from, I'm starting to make a teaching job tomorrow.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_01]: She goes, I think I'd like to teach.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's like he did not ask you that.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't say, like, what do you want to do?
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I'm teaching you could have said, like, what are you teaching?
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_02]: I could give her a million questions she could have asked him.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what?
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_02]: I could have talked about her.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess I didn't need to.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_02]: He asked her another question.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_02]: And she starts her pretty little line.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that she lied.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that she lied.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: Is this for real?
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: She absolutely did.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_02]: He said, what's your major?
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_02]: She says, I'm leaning towards English, which when you're sixteen you do know what you're leaning towards and call it.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_02]: But you also fully know that you
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have a major.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_02]: She wasn't fully telling the truth, but she didn't say my major is English.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_02]: She did not.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_02]: She says, I'm leaning towards English.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you sound like Arya when she's talking to other writers.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gaslighting you.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_02]: All right, okay, Arya is the gaslighter.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they all are a little bit.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get into that.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that just turns as we're on so much, and it's just skewed two full bar stores closer to her, which is like, with this book, he couldn't leave that behind.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they've been talking for fifteen seconds.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the book just to taste like she gets boring.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_02]: He'll have to open it up again.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's go back first.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_02]: She's, she said the meaning to her English, but I write too.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, of course.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he also didn't ask you that writing is fully part of English.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like when you take English classes, like writing is like, what do the main components?
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_02]: I would say.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_02]: So like that you didn't need to say.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_02]: And then she's like, but it's really just personal stuff like for me, like don't ask Teresa.
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't say, don't ask to read it, but it's fully.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, absolutely.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: Which means that she absolutely wants him.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, she's like, we're close now, but we're not that close.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, well, maybe let me read it.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, what if, what if?
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you're in in the bathroom.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_02]: I put my tongue right down your throat.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_02]: Would, would we be close enough then for you to let me read.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, hell, yeah, we would.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which honestly I can't say I would have been like let's have but I'm what I'm missing from the show is the interim between being at that bar and getting into the bathroom like what happened that I want I want the journey to the bathroom and I also don't know what the fuck is that bartender thing
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_02]: because it's not like they're in like a crowded bar and they're like, oh man, you need to go somewhere quiet.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a lone man like playing pool in the court probably just practice like all me on.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's but like I want to know and they're like, it's not like it's also not like they were like hammered and we're like stumbling to the bathroom.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's like
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_02]: And also, I mean, I have to say like the way they're kissing is as if like, they've just like re-ignited.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_02]: They're so in love.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, I think six months into their relationship.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_03]: That's how they got us rooting for them.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_03]: We were like, oh my God.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_02]: They are twin flames.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they had some significant chemistry.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's how they got us.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_02]: They're just right away.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, each girl gets a scene where it's like, just shock value.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_02]: Shock value.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_02]: Shock value.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: They made out.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_02]: It was hot.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_02]: It was everything.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was everything to me.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_01]: They made it out.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_02]: They made it out.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_02]: It was hot as fuck.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_02]: And we just ate that shit up.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_02]: We couldn't wait for more.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_02]: And now introducing the It Girl Hannah Marin Hannah Marin.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I think we have to start with just the absolute travesty that were sunglasses and like the two thousand ten
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, time.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_02]: Not as sync.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_02]: She's trying out approximately, six teens on glasses right now.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_02]: And they're, hey, I remember like, you know how every trend has like the one where people start wearing it and you're like, I don't know about that and like everyone's wearing it.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_02]: I had a long pause before I fully bought it into the like bug guy sunglasses.
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys remember, these sunglasses that girls used to wear and the hand is got like these pink rimmed, truly like spherical, biotone.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're awful.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so then we see Spencer from afar.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_02]: She could have been mistaken.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_03]: Mistake her for Sarah Palin.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_03]: Hillary brought him Quintin.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, she is giving like first lady like presidential candidate.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_02]: However, we go up.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah is like, we haven't spoken in a year, but I totally feel comfortable approaching in the mall and rattling off your entire resume and capping it off with in your leisure time.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_01]: You face book and tweet tweet tweet.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_01]: So, and his sister goes, you know me.
- 1:08:01[SPEAKER_01]: I like to stay busy.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_03]: And Hannah goes, it's called a summer vacay spent.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_03]: They haven't spoken since their best friend disappeared.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the lingo, which actually Hannah is still having a fun combo with Spencer and Spencer goes, so did you see the paper today?
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer, Debbie fucking down her.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Spencer's like, my job here is to harsh the fucking mood, Hannah.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_02]: Our friend's been missing for a year and I might have had something to do with it.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_02]: Did you see the paper?
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_02]: Literally, it's, but they do insinuate later in the show that like Hannah and Spencer like maintained a little bit of contacts and maybe it's not, they do as weird.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_03]: Because when, we'll get to this when we get to this scene, but when Hannah walks into the classroom and sees Ariana Emily in the back.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_03]: It was like, she's like a cold.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_03]: I roll.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like Alice in the level she's looking at like Mona when it was alive.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_02]: Major like like the audacity and then Spencer walks in and it's like hey yeah they give a little bit but they did just talk today before so it's like yes would be weird if they didn't say hi.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a major major bone to pick with Spencer.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_02]: Fair.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_02]: Over the outfit, she decides she's going to pick out for Melissa's what engagement party?
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: Not, it's just dinner where they're meeting run.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, which she's about to have a lot of fun.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_02]: She's about to have a lot of fun and something that this scene tells me
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer's like, I have to buy a new outfit to meet Melissa's boyfriend.
- 1:09:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, no, you don't Spencer.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're extremely wealthy and you have the wardrobe of a four year old woman.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't need to buy something new.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_02]: You're fine.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_02]: The reason you want to buy something new is because you want to look good because you have a history of fucking Melissa's boyfriend.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just call a spade a spade Spencer.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_03]: Melissa's boyfriend to Melissa is six years older.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we don't talk about that.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's what they're not talking about.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_02]: Is that like, yes, Spencer kissing these men like these men are paraded her and it's very interesting to see.
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_03]: the difference obviously as was a teacher.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but even so they don't villainize him at least in the early episodes.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_02]: The way they should they don't acknowledge that these men are actually.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, pedophiles.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a scandal.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's really Melissa's a senior in high school.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_02]: This is not a scandal.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_02]: This is a crime.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just like
- 1:10:19[SPEAKER_02]: keep that in the back of your head.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then these characters are recurring.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_02]: They ran into the show.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_02]: They're like the only bad thing you can do in the show is kill someone and even then maybe not.
- 1:10:31[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, Spencer's like, I'm gonna purchase this like, starched white button down, collar shirt, a size.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_02]: She smells some of my boobs like pop out.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_02]: And that's a her idea of like a sexy outfit.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_02]: She's probably got a fifteen of those shirts in her closet at home.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_02]: Literally.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_03]: Hannah, see her pick it up.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_03]: Walkin' over to the cashier.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_03]: and her eyes roll so far out of her head.
- 1:10:51[SPEAKER_02]: She's a Hannah Marin chaotic good.
- 1:10:54[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah's a great friend.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_02]: She saved.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_03]: I know Emily's the quote unquote loyal one, but I think Hannah takes the case pretty loyal.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to lie.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah understands loyalty because she wasn't always the girl.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_01]: That is such a good thing.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's something different to her.
- 1:11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:11:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's, you know, that's like, the heart of these parents are, I'm not gonna give you a reason to be made fun of by people.
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna let you be a not a situation.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Even though we haven't spoken in a year.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I love Hannah.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_02]: I got God bless Hannah.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah Marin.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_02]: Is this a Hannah stan pod?
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_02]: It absolutely is.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_02]: Ashley Benzo, we love you.
- 1:11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, forever and always.
- 1:11:33[SPEAKER_02]: First day of school.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_02]: First day of school and Emily's introduction.
- 1:11:38[SPEAKER_02]: lackluster three seconds tops and she is shit on this is areas second introduction essentially is what it feels like Emily is giving supporting character vibes because she's like let me give you the back story on every yeah main character area yeah really and area fully is like we're not fucking friends yes Emily goes it's so weird to even talk she is
- 1:12:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we got a lot's touch Emily.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're not.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_02]: Emily, I'd be like, okay, fuck me.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I'd like walk in the bathroom and cry for a little bit.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_02]: So they're walking into school, talking about Ali.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_02]: But we do have to mention the drop off.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness, I forgot.
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_02]: Are you his father, Byron, who is just so creepy, creepy to me.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, and I think he'd be creepy without his story line.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_02]: I said, I'll say he's just act weird.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but he's like, yet again, we're like ten minutes in the show, bringing up his affair.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, he's obsessed with it.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's obsessed with it.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's so paranoid.
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_02]: But he doesn't seem sorry.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's also like here.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's worried about or yeah.
- 1:12:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's not worried about like, I did something wrong.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_03]: He's also like, let me send him a sixteen year old daughter into her first day of sophomore year after a year away with this horrible thing to think about as she walks in.
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine how many times a year old friend is missing probably dead.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_02]: How many, well, he's not thinking about that because he's so rich.
- 1:13:01[SPEAKER_02]: How many car rides do we have with like mom or dad going to school and like you get in a fight or like they bring something up or like God for where they say something about your outfit or something and you're just like you get out of the car like absolutely furious and like the rest of your day is just like really messed up.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he just did to her.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_03]: Her making her making Arya feel guilty and stupid for catching him cheating on her mom.
- 1:13:27[SPEAKER_02]: And she's, oh my god, so much gas like it.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, gas and buzz word for the gas like it keep grow boss.
- 1:13:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we've got some girl bosses.
- 1:13:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I have to see Drake.
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking at you.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but yeah, I think with him, like, it's classic, like, man-child bullshit.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm going to run away from my problems instead of, like, facing the fact that I cheated on my wife with my student and my daughter.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_02]: I've now put my daughter in a very adult position that it's like not fair to her at all.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_02]: and I'm keeping the strategy for my wife, and I'm living a lie, basically.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna take my entire family away, uproot their lives for an entire year.
- 1:14:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna go to Iceland, so I can get as far as fuck away from this thing I did, instead of actually being like, I fuck them.
- 1:14:13[SPEAKER_02]: Because he can't control the actions.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like try to be better.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_02]: Don't literally ruin your whole family's life for a year, bring them back, and you're in the exact same place you were when you started.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_02]: So R.S.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_02]: Day is ruined.
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_02]: She then is walking into school with Emily.
- 1:14:27[SPEAKER_01]: What a day for Arya.
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_02]: There's probably my Allison, can't believe it's been a year.
- 1:14:31[SPEAKER_02]: Emily goes, well, we know she's dead, right?
- 1:14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Emily Ruthley.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_02]: And Arya is like, good for her.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_02]: She's fully giving Arya the lay of the land.
- 1:14:40[SPEAKER_02]: Just so you know, Hannah and Spencer are still friendly.
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Hannah and Schwalder rolled her eyes at us.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_02]: We're not friends.
- 1:14:46[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah's a new girl.
- 1:14:47[SPEAKER_02]: Mona's her new best friend.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_02]: Mona went through a major makeover.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Arya also kind of rudely comments about how much better Mona loves.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_03]: Mona walks in Emily goes where there's Hannah, there's Mona and Arya screams across this small classroom.
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's Mona?
- 1:15:03[SPEAKER_02]: Well later on, Emma Montgomery gets in on it.
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_02]: So like a very daughter for sure.
- 1:15:09[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get there for sure.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but so then we have Mr. Fitz, his back is turned.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's wearing a best lots of us in the show.
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_02]: But he does what Matthew Morrison never could and Glee.
- 1:15:20[SPEAKER_03]: He, oh, he wears a vest real well.
- 1:15:26[SPEAKER_02]: I would have done anything for Ezra Fitz.
- 1:15:28[SPEAKER_02]: Here's how you know Ezra Fitz is actually just Erie and Harding is so hot because Matthew Morrison played a teacher who gave you the creeps but never fucked a student.
- 1:15:41[SPEAKER_02]: Ezra Fitz plays a teacher who doesn't give you the creeps of fully.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_02]: It was like having sex to the sixteen year old and we brought for it.
- 1:15:46[SPEAKER_02]: Mr. Fitz.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_02]: We fought for him.
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, correct.
- 1:15:50[SPEAKER_03]: If we hadn't, like, in Hardin, it totally would have pinned out the way the books.
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they took, I mean, they are lucky.
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_02]: They took a fully buffet.
- 1:15:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that, like, I think it was a risky choice, but like, they just really, like, got lucky with how good that worked out.
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_02]: However, I kind of feel bad for, like, Arya as a character that she never got to, like, have the growth of, like,
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like moving on from him.
- 1:16:11[SPEAKER_02]: We're like that would have been an empowering thing for this girl who was actually thinking to get an advantage of, but we didn't talk about that.
- 1:16:16[SPEAKER_02]: He writes his name in the board.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_02]: He turns around.
- 1:16:18[SPEAKER_02]: Ari is looking at her phone, getting a text we will soon find out is from A. She looks up.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_02]: Mr. Fitz is staring at her with a full blown erection.
- 1:16:26[SPEAKER_02]: We don't see it on camera.
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_02]: We know it's the better has to happen because he does not have the self restraint.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, just internally processed what he's seen instead in front of a classroom.
- 1:16:37[SPEAKER_02]: There are really like sixteen year olds.
- 1:16:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hinge is open.
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a pretty single student.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it literally says holy crap.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like what?
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_02]: It stares at her.
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_02]: If I was one of it.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like wait a minute.
- 1:16:50[SPEAKER_01]: Even if like no student was like, oh my god, I wonder if they may not know Mario yesterday.
- 1:16:55[SPEAKER_01]: Even if like no one thought that they'd be like he like thinks she's hotter or something.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_02]: Which
- 1:17:01[SPEAKER_02]: the first thing my friends and I would have talked about when we got in the way of told their parents and their parents would have been like that's a little weird and someone would have called for sure.
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, it's absolutely shocking the way he reacts and it's, it's a lot, it's like ten seconds of that.
- 1:17:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's a lot.
- 1:17:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then are he looks down on her phone?
- 1:17:26[SPEAKER_02]: And what does she see?
- 1:17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just see what it says.
- 1:17:29[SPEAKER_02]: The, I guess the first scene is ever in our first A text says, maybe he pulls around with students all the time.
- 1:17:37[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of teachers do.
- 1:17:38[SPEAKER_03]: Just ask your dad.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_03]: A.
- 1:17:42[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:17:44[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:17:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:17:45[SPEAKER_02]: So it would have definitely, here's a thing.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:17:48[SPEAKER_02]: If A is sending R in this text, it would have to be somebody that saw R is data in the car that day.
- 1:17:54[SPEAKER_02]: And we know there are only three people that saw that because that was the whole thing is already didn't tell anyone else.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we see Byron and his student Meredith making out in the car.
- 1:18:03[SPEAKER_02]: Alley says, is that your dad's car?
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_02]: Are you like, oh my god, yeah.
- 1:18:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, they both say, but like, Mona's in that scene too.
- 1:18:08[SPEAKER_02]: So like, there are three people that could have seen this happen unless we want to include Meredith in this for some reason.
- 1:18:13[SPEAKER_02]: So we can conclude that that A has to be one of them.
- 1:18:16[SPEAKER_02]: And we know it's not area.
- 1:18:18[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's Ali.
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's the ID other definitely pushing for sure.
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_02]: So enter Emily and her mother.
- 1:18:25[SPEAKER_02]: Now I am a Pam Fields Stan.
- 1:18:30[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Tell us about that.
- 1:18:33[SPEAKER_03]: Well, obviously I didn't start as one.
- 1:18:35[SPEAKER_03]: She's not...
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like a bowl at all.
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_03]: At the beginning, but by the end, she really comes around and she's definitely.
- 1:18:41[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, no spoilers.
- 1:18:43[SPEAKER_02]: And this moment, though, are you a Pam field stand?
- 1:18:46[SPEAKER_02]: No, but it is hard for me.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:18:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:18:49[SPEAKER_02]: So there's, there's hope.
- 1:18:51[SPEAKER_02]: She, yes.
- 1:18:51[SPEAKER_02]: Now, some of the things that Pam feels is saying, just remind me so much of our mother, but especially the part where she says, I just never understood why they let their kids, why she say it acts like adults or like do whatever they want and all because
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_02]: Are you has like a few strands of pink hair?
- 1:19:08[SPEAKER_02]: Which?
- 1:19:09[SPEAKER_02]: Funnily enough that we're saying this about our mom.
- 1:19:11[SPEAKER_02]: Our mom did let us dye our hair with cool-aid.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_02]: But she did.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_02]: She let me dye my hair with with actual hair dye.
- 1:19:16[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it's a shocking.
- 1:19:17[SPEAKER_02]: I had like a streak right behind my ear.
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_02]: That was real.
- 1:19:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I choose a color like every month.
- 1:19:24[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, because we tend to hold bucks to change the color and not.
- 1:19:28[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, you could say I was kind of edgy.
- 1:19:31[SPEAKER_02]: Need to talk about Emily's response to this, which Emily's bitter.
- 1:19:34[SPEAKER_02]: Emily says something that I don't agree with.
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_02]: She says, if I were her mother, I would say you know nothing.
- 1:19:40[SPEAKER_02]: If Pam were our mother, I'm shocked Pam didn't say this.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_02]: When Emily says well, because they treat their kids like their equals, not their property.
- 1:19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, number one, if I said that to my mother,
- 1:19:53[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:55[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:55[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:56[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:57[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:58[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:00[SPEAKER_00]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:01[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:03[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:05[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:06[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_02]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:08[SPEAKER_01]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_01]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_03]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_03]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_03]: I would never sleep.
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_03]: Really?
- 1:20:20[SPEAKER_02]: Is it not obvious by, like, the past seventeen minutes of the show that she, like, scrolls a little bit like, I didn't think it was.
- 1:20:26[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
- 1:20:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay, first scene.
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_02]: Allison, you learned it says maybe you're liking the new Beyonce video a little too much M and Emily looks more to find.
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's fair, but I don't know.
- 1:20:36[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, we are totally aware.
- 1:20:37[SPEAKER_03]: The scene ends.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_03]: Pamfield says letting your kids run around looking like a golf.
- 1:20:44[SPEAKER_03]: won't get you very far and Rosewood.
- 1:20:46[SPEAKER_02]: And Emily responds, some of us don't dream of making it in Rosewood.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_02]: The melodrama, chef's kiss.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_02]: Some of us dream of making it out.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely, you know what?
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Zero points.
- 1:20:58[SPEAKER_02]: Zero points across the board for Emily Fields.
- 1:21:01[SPEAKER_02]: Shay Mitchell trying to hide that she's a Canadian.
- 1:21:03[SPEAKER_02]: No, not at all.
- 1:21:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:21:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:21:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when you're hired to do a job.
- 1:21:06[SPEAKER_01]: I just think she should have lived in Rosewood, PA for a minute.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, let's get to the exciting part, which is Maya, Saint Germain, aka New Girl.
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_02]: So what do we think of Maya off the bat?
- 1:21:30[SPEAKER_02]: She's a lot.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_02]: She's a lot.
- 1:21:32[SPEAKER_03]: And I do, just the same treatment that we had for Pam of not knowing what we know now of Maya, because I love Maya and then she's one of my favorite people for Emily.
- 1:21:42[SPEAKER_02]: But in the beginning, she's just a little much.
- 1:21:46[SPEAKER_02]: She's too much.
- 1:21:46[SPEAKER_02]: She comes out.
- 1:21:47[SPEAKER_02]: She's wearing a vest.
- 1:21:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I feel about all the fucking vest.
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_02]: show and she asks Emily will help her like bring the boxes and because she's moving into Alice's old house she's like is that outrageous for me to ask him Emily says yes and I'm like waiting for the other she'll drop in waiting for Emily to say I'm just kidding but we find out Emily does not have a sense of humor and she says but I'll help you know how I would feel if I was the recipient of backup I was like would you mind helping me like Maya which is why I think they're perfect for each other
- 1:22:15[SPEAKER_02]: Because Maya's like, I think you're not afraid of like, she's very, I think she's exactly what Emily needed.
- 1:22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:22:21[SPEAKER_02]: At this point in her life.
- 1:22:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, she's much better than Ben, but we'll get to that.
- 1:22:25[SPEAKER_02]: The bars on the floor.
- 1:22:25[SPEAKER_02]: The bars on the floor.
- 1:22:27[SPEAKER_02]: I hate him.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_02]: I hate him.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_02]: I hate him.
- 1:22:29[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
- 1:22:29[SPEAKER_02]: So we go and do this fully smoke pot and now he's old room.
- 1:22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:22:33[SPEAKER_02]: She seems sacrilegious, but I love it.
- 1:22:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm here for it.
- 1:22:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, girl.
- 1:22:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't help but think Emily, partakes, Maya's like, do you want to?
- 1:22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Emily's like, yeah, I'm like, Emily, you just said you're a swimmer.
- 1:22:44[SPEAKER_02]: I bet you get drug tested.
- 1:22:46[SPEAKER_02]: What are you thinking?
- 1:22:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's the, I'm thinking about the things no one else is thinking about.
- 1:22:51[SPEAKER_02]: They should have had me in the writers room.
- 1:22:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you would have been a Debbie Downer for sure.
- 1:22:55[SPEAKER_02]: I would have made it more realistic.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_02]: And we wouldn't have had a show for seven seasons.
- 1:22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that harsh, harshest fuck.
- 1:23:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we ever see her actually do it though, so.
- 1:23:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:06[SPEAKER_02]: loser.
- 1:23:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was a little too much for ABC family, but sleeping with your teacher was it.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_02]: That a file was worth absolutely up for grabs, but do not show them smoking bot.
- 1:23:15[SPEAKER_02]: No, please.
- 1:23:16[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm troubled by something in this next scene with Spencer and Ron and it's this we must acknowledge that what Ron and Spencer are doing is not worse than what Mr. Fitson
- 1:23:28[SPEAKER_02]: Are y'all are dealing?
- 1:23:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think that.
- 1:23:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:23:30[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:23:31[SPEAKER_02]: And it's true.
- 1:23:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's different.
- 1:23:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's not anyway.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Back to Melissa.
- 1:23:37[SPEAKER_02]: She is Jackie.
- 1:23:39[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she is.
- 1:23:40[SPEAKER_02]: In their backyard.
- 1:23:41[SPEAKER_02]: In fact, older sister character.
- 1:23:43[SPEAKER_03]: She's I mean, the acting is perfect.
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_03]: She does it perfectly.
- 1:23:46[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 1:23:47[SPEAKER_03]: But Melissa's the worst character ever.
- 1:23:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's ex, but the one thing that's like not realistic about it is that she would be with someone like Ren when he comes out of the barn and meets Spencer in their backyard.
- 1:23:59[SPEAKER_02]: He looks literally like he has the suds.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's really unfortunate.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think you put it the best is that he looks like a little.
- 1:24:06[SPEAKER_02]: He woke up with a cold.
- 1:24:08[SPEAKER_02]: He knows his red.
- 1:24:09[SPEAKER_02]: His hair is like all like fucked up.
- 1:24:13[SPEAKER_02]: He probably thought his shirts like wrinkled.
- 1:24:15[SPEAKER_02]: He looks awful.
- 1:24:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Melissa would never be okay with that.
- 1:24:19[SPEAKER_02]: And we should have known right right then right there.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_03]: It was not.
- 1:24:23[SPEAKER_03]: He almost not.
- 1:24:24[SPEAKER_03]: But he's a doctor.
- 1:24:25[SPEAKER_03]: So everyone's thrilled.
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_02]: right everyone's thrilled as ever sponsor in the scene she completely ice is run out she's just found out that she does not get to stay in the bar and that she spent the entire summer renovating which absolutely justified i would be pissed i would kiss her boyfriend too well i don't know that i would do that anything to get back at her anything
- 1:24:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think that probably says a lot about our sister relationship right there.
- 1:24:50[SPEAKER_03]: Um, however, we do get Spencer Hastings.
- 1:24:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'd say this is like the these Spencer Hastings quote.
- 1:24:56[SPEAKER_02]: It comes out throughout the show a few times, but this is the first that she say it more than once.
- 1:25:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:25:03[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 1:25:04[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we're setting a theme.
- 1:25:05[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a motif.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we're just going to do a quick role play right now.
- 1:25:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to play big sister.
- 1:25:10[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you're going to play a little sister.
- 1:25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I am Melissa Hastings.
- 1:25:14[SPEAKER_02]: Your Spencer Hastings.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go, ready.
- 1:25:16[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:25:17[SPEAKER_02]: I was hoping you'd be happy for me.
- 1:25:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know what they say about hope.
- 1:25:23[SPEAKER_02]: It breeds eternal misery and seen that exchange.
- 1:25:27[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's also important to note that while Spencer says hope breeds eternal misery, she is looking
- 1:25:35[SPEAKER_03]: directly at Ren.
- 1:25:36[SPEAKER_02]: The future has been, who she's supposed to spend eternity with looking right at him.
- 1:25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Delivering a message from God.
- 1:25:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:25:43[SPEAKER_02]: Ren, if you marry this woman, you will be miserable for eternity.
- 1:25:48[SPEAKER_02]: One other thing about that moment between them is that I don't understand why Melissa would even hope that Spencer would be happy for her after the last boyfriend, which we'll learn about.
- 1:25:59[SPEAKER_02]: Don't, don't, don't.
- 1:26:00[SPEAKER_02]: Ian, Ian, the worst, the worst of the worst.
- 1:26:03[SPEAKER_02]: However, why the hell would Melissa think for a second, Spencer?
- 1:26:08[SPEAKER_02]: Why would they move into the barn in that like close proximity to Spencer knowing the relationship, the volatile relationship, Melissa and Spencer have
- 1:26:18[SPEAKER_02]: and Spencer's history with Melissa's boyfriend.
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_02]: It seems honestly like Melissa did this to herself.
- 1:26:22[SPEAKER_02]: That, but also why would the parents be like, yes, Spencer, you spent the entire summer working on this barn so you could live in it for your junior year and we're not even going to tell you that Melissa's moving in.
- 1:26:34[SPEAKER_02]: But also...
- 1:26:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's a really unequal sibling dynamic here, which is that Melissa is the favorite and the oldest.
- 1:26:41[SPEAKER_02]: And Spencer is the youngest and not the favorite.
- 1:26:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, not at all.
- 1:26:45[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's honestly not realistic.
- 1:26:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's the least realistic part of this entire show.
- 1:26:51[SPEAKER_02]: So fast forward a few hours.
- 1:26:54[SPEAKER_02]: We're at dinner.
- 1:26:55[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer is Spencer's in the top that Hannah did pick out for her.
- 1:26:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's brooding.
- 1:27:00[SPEAKER_02]: She's reading to kill him off.
- 1:27:02[SPEAKER_02]: She's underlining everywhere with her fingers, so she doesn't lose her spot.
- 1:27:06[SPEAKER_02]: She's three pages into the book.
- 1:27:08[SPEAKER_02]: She can't fucking read.
- 1:27:09[SPEAKER_02]: We see a mysterious hand.
- 1:27:13[SPEAKER_02]: just ashing a cigarette in.
- 1:27:16[SPEAKER_02]: So rude.
- 1:27:17[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, so or anything, no one's going to find that when the maids go out to water.
- 1:27:21[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't even know that you don't even think you're like, you're your six feet away from Spencer.
- 1:27:25[SPEAKER_02]: You don't notice that she's there.
- 1:27:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's a really good point.
- 1:27:28[SPEAKER_02]: You don't think she's going to smell it.
- 1:27:29[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see it like it's his back turned towards her and she's so and gross in the book she won't even look up and see her.
- 1:27:34[SPEAKER_03]: It takes time to smoke us a year.
- 1:27:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you've been standing there for a minute.
- 1:27:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's probably so stressed.
- 1:27:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's just sucking that shit down.
- 1:27:40[SPEAKER_02]: fair enough.
- 1:27:41[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so they start talking flirting.
- 1:27:44[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer's cost a line from the first god damn second.
- 1:27:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, she looks to him like she is ready to have his children.
- 1:27:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she looks up at him from her book and she's got her sexy backlist top and she's like, you know, she's got her head down their eyes or up and she's giving me hints.
- 1:27:59[SPEAKER_02]: She's giving him the fuck me eyes.
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say it.
- 1:28:02[SPEAKER_03]: And they're talking, they're talking, and she goes, you're not like Melissa's other boyfriends.
- 1:28:09[SPEAKER_03]: He goes, how am I different?
- 1:28:11[SPEAKER_03]: How am I different?
- 1:28:14[SPEAKER_02]: And she goes, where they for dinner.
- 1:28:17[SPEAKER_02]: And she goes, I actually like you.
- 1:28:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's how you're different.
- 1:28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer, that's actually, that's not different from the last point.
- 1:28:24[SPEAKER_03]: You actually always like Melissa's boy.
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_01]: I like them a little team at a little too much, Benz.
- 1:28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:28:30[SPEAKER_02]: And where's the baby?
- 1:28:31[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Ali should have been, I mean, I guess we'll get to the Ali moment with this.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_02]: But that there.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_02]: In fact, let's get there.
- 1:28:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so excited to break this news down.
- 1:28:40[SPEAKER_02]: Are you starting through the halls of Rosewood High?
- 1:28:44[SPEAKER_02]: Nobby needs, way of a girl.
- 1:28:47[SPEAKER_02]: She's tiny.
- 1:28:48[SPEAKER_02]: We assume that this is early in the morning before school, but I'm not convinced.
- 1:28:54[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like after school.
- 1:28:56[SPEAKER_01]: I assume I know.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's definitely in the morning before school, because again, we were just that a dinner scene the scene before.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_02]: But that's why I've always been confused.
- 1:29:07[SPEAKER_02]: I just explained it to you.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:29:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 1:29:10[SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, they're talking.
- 1:29:12[SPEAKER_02]: No, I need to talk about something.
- 1:29:14[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:29:14[SPEAKER_02]: What is written on the board?
- 1:29:16[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:29:16[SPEAKER_02]: So here's what's written on the board.
- 1:29:17[SPEAKER_02]: We know they're reading to Kelli Mockingbird.
- 1:29:20[SPEAKER_02]: The board says Atticus.
- 1:29:22[SPEAKER_02]: Voice of Reason question mark underneath it.
- 1:29:24[SPEAKER_02]: I says Scout.
- 1:29:25[SPEAKER_02]: moral or a moral.
- 1:29:28[SPEAKER_02]: This is not an accident, people.
- 1:29:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, thank you, English major.
- 1:29:31[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate it.
- 1:29:32[SPEAKER_02]: Um, uh, I guess you want me to break it down.
- 1:29:36[SPEAKER_02]: This is the sense I'm the English major.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:29:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I think we could go two ways here.
- 1:29:42[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, he has Atticus.
- 1:29:43[SPEAKER_02]: Atticus is obviously representing Mr. Fitz.
- 1:29:45[SPEAKER_02]: He is or his wiser.
- 1:29:47[SPEAKER_02]: We know this.
- 1:29:48[SPEAKER_02]: I also think he probably I didn't know if he probably like reeds to go.
- 1:29:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking forward to every year.
- 1:29:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, uh, yeah, I love it.
- 1:29:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like people ask him what his favorite book character is and he's probably like,
- 1:29:59[SPEAKER_02]: Atticus.
- 1:30:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly.
- 1:30:01[SPEAKER_02]: And he's, he's the guy to see myself as a father figure to my students.
- 1:30:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I just have so much wisdom.
- 1:30:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to change the world.
- 1:30:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, whatever.
- 1:30:11[SPEAKER_02]: You are going to change the world.
- 1:30:13[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not in a good way.
- 1:30:14[SPEAKER_02]: So here's my take on this.
- 1:30:15[SPEAKER_02]: And we have a few different ways that could go number one.
- 1:30:20[SPEAKER_02]: He is Atticus.
- 1:30:21[SPEAKER_02]: And he's asking, I'm supposed to be the voice of reason.
- 1:30:25[SPEAKER_02]: Am I supposed to be the voice of reason?
- 1:30:27[SPEAKER_02]: Am I being the voice of reason?
- 1:30:30[SPEAKER_02]: Scouters, obviously.
- 1:30:31[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:30:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now, this is also very problematic because in the book, scouters added, because it's daughter.
- 1:30:36[SPEAKER_02]: Literally.
- 1:30:37[SPEAKER_02]: And there's no other way to interpret this than that scout must be Aryan.
- 1:30:41[SPEAKER_02]: It says moral or amoral.
- 1:30:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think what it's happening is he's saying, is it moral?
- 1:30:47[SPEAKER_02]: Is it a relationship moral?
- 1:30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Is she moral?
- 1:30:49[SPEAKER_02]: Or is this a moral?
- 1:30:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to figure that out.
- 1:30:52[SPEAKER_02]: This is the one time he can't be the voice of reason because he is so his head and his heart and that is the end of my dissertation on the blockboard and pretty little layers.
- 1:31:00[SPEAKER_03]: Great, and so Ezra is talking to Arya and he's like, you told me you went to Hollis.
- 1:31:05[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, no, I didn't.
- 1:31:07[SPEAKER_03]: And she didn't.
- 1:31:07[SPEAKER_03]: I still think she was a bit of a liar in that bar.
- 1:31:10[SPEAKER_03]: She wasn't fully honest, which on me is lying.
- 1:31:12[SPEAKER_03]: She was lying.
- 1:31:14[SPEAKER_03]: But Ezra is like, we can't do this.
- 1:31:16[SPEAKER_03]: Things have changed.
- 1:31:18[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing changed.
- 1:31:19[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing changed.
- 1:31:20[SPEAKER_03]: Literally everything has you are one of his students.
- 1:31:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the day you made out.
- 1:31:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was illegal because you're a minor, but you weren't his student.
- 1:31:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:31:28[SPEAKER_03]: So, as Russ trying to, like, his words are saying that he's against it.
- 1:31:32[SPEAKER_03]: His body language.
- 1:31:34[SPEAKER_02]: Not so much.
- 1:31:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's outstretcheding his hand.
- 1:31:36[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, he's reaching out.
- 1:31:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, he's like, he's working.
- 1:31:42[SPEAKER_02]: And are you taking advantage of it?
- 1:31:43[SPEAKER_02]: She holds his hand.
- 1:31:45[SPEAKER_02]: And the bell rings.
- 1:31:46[SPEAKER_02]: She's got to go.
- 1:31:47[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the bell doesn't ring.
- 1:31:48[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't, but maybe it did.
- 1:31:50[SPEAKER_02]: And the bell for hammering his internal bell ring.
- 1:31:52[SPEAKER_02]: He said, I got to get up and go.
- 1:31:54[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, this is where we're out with Ezra and Arya.
- 1:31:57[SPEAKER_02]: What will happen?
- 1:31:58[SPEAKER_02]: Arya seems like she's willing to fight.
- 1:32:00[SPEAKER_02]: Arya is willing to fight because she's sixteen and she doesn't know any better.
- 1:32:04[SPEAKER_02]: And right now, he's fighting for his job.
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_02]: And Arya was sixteen and didn't know any better.
- 1:32:09[SPEAKER_02]: So it was the fan base.
- 1:32:09[SPEAKER_02]: So we were also ready to fight.
- 1:32:11[SPEAKER_02]: We were ready to fight.
- 1:32:12[SPEAKER_02]: We were like, this is hot.
- 1:32:14[SPEAKER_02]: No one had a red fan effect yet.
- 1:32:16[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like this is hot.
- 1:32:18[SPEAKER_02]: People are like, we need the fanfare.
- 1:32:19[SPEAKER_02]: People started writing the fanfare, actually.
- 1:32:23[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we should read some for sure.
- 1:32:25[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 1:32:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's so funny.
- 1:32:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_02]: So this is Phoebe's favorite scene.
- 1:32:28[SPEAKER_02]: I've pretty little liars.
- 1:32:30[SPEAKER_02]: Would you like to do the honors of kicking it off?
- 1:32:32[SPEAKER_02]: This is the most awkward, like, forty-five seconds of television I've ever watched.
- 1:32:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's Maya and Emily walking down the street.
- 1:32:39[SPEAKER_02]: Arms touching.
- 1:32:40[SPEAKER_02]: Literally grazing against each other.
- 1:32:43[SPEAKER_02]: It cannot be uncomfortable for them.
- 1:32:45[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's like, it's like that.
- 1:32:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's like that good uncomfortable.
- 1:32:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, yeah, sexual tension.
- 1:32:51[SPEAKER_02]: They're walking Emily sees these construction men.
- 1:32:55[SPEAKER_02]: She stopped in her truck.
- 1:32:56[SPEAKER_02]: We're literally shocking Allison de Laurentis's things.
- 1:32:59[SPEAKER_02]: These are stuff for this dead girl.
- 1:33:00[SPEAKER_03]: Well, she's probably mean to them, honestly.
- 1:33:02[SPEAKER_03]: She probably heckled them on other projects.
- 1:33:04[SPEAKER_01]: She's no idea who they are.
- 1:33:06[SPEAKER_01]: They've never met.
- 1:33:09[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, that's fair.
- 1:33:10[SPEAKER_02]: I know, but she terrorized the entire neighborhood.
- 1:33:16[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone knows she's missing.
- 1:33:18[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone knows that's her house.
- 1:33:19[SPEAKER_03]: They're probably like, fuck that girl.
- 1:33:21[SPEAKER_02]: My, it doesn't know.
- 1:33:22[SPEAKER_02]: My, it doesn't know.
- 1:33:23[SPEAKER_02]: Emily subscat in her track.
- 1:33:25[SPEAKER_02]: She sees the gaggle of construction workers, absolutely.
- 1:33:29[SPEAKER_02]: chucking.
- 1:33:30[SPEAKER_02]: Alley's belonging to her.
- 1:33:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still interested.
- 1:33:32[SPEAKER_02]: So why were they out there so long?
- 1:33:34[SPEAKER_02]: Hard to believe nobody took them.
- 1:33:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like maybe he could have used them.
- 1:33:38[SPEAKER_02]: So what a missed opportunity.
- 1:33:41[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, Emily basically confesses I haven't told you everything about that girl.
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_02]: She's missing.
- 1:33:47[SPEAKER_02]: Maya sees this as her gold and opportunity to get in there and in a very awkward way to me.
- 1:33:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so they're standing up three inches away from each other and Maya goes that must have been so hard for you.
- 1:34:00[SPEAKER_02]: And it has is there, but they both, but it's not a kiss.
- 1:34:03[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be clear.
- 1:34:03[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's a kiss.
- 1:34:05[SPEAKER_02]: I've never considered that a kiss.
- 1:34:07[SPEAKER_02]: They kiss.
- 1:34:08[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:34:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, they kiss.
- 1:34:10[SPEAKER_02]: Should we re-watch it?
- 1:34:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so it's not a case.
- 1:34:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very intimate, cheek brush with the lips moment.
- 1:34:17[SPEAKER_02]: The absolutely rocks Emily's world.
- 1:34:19[SPEAKER_02]: Emily walks home smiling the entire way.
- 1:34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Not smiling.
- 1:34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Smurking.
- 1:34:24[SPEAKER_02]: Smurking.
- 1:34:25[SPEAKER_02]: And with her eyes, she's like, does this like,
- 1:34:28[SPEAKER_02]: I flicker thing.
- 1:34:29[SPEAKER_02]: I I couldn't do it if I try.
- 1:34:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's very.
- 1:34:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:34:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's very emotional.
- 1:34:32[SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned trademark.
- 1:34:34[SPEAKER_02]: So she's stoked.
- 1:34:35[SPEAKER_02]: She is right.
- 1:34:38[SPEAKER_02]: She does not seem unhappy about it.
- 1:34:39[SPEAKER_03]: And she doesn't seem like.
- 1:34:42[SPEAKER_03]: You would assume because how she acts at the party later.
- 1:34:44[SPEAKER_02]: She's this isn't public in front of construction workers and she's not like.
- 1:34:49[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, why would you do that?
- 1:34:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, she's like super, super, super into the case.
- 1:34:53[SPEAKER_02]: She's pumped about it.
- 1:34:54[SPEAKER_02]: She's like giving her flirty eyes her smirk for sure.
- 1:34:57[SPEAKER_02]: My is the one who walks away.
- 1:34:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my is like, oh man, she's a boyfriend.
- 1:35:00[SPEAKER_02]: I Emily hasn't thought of been for weeks.
- 1:35:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think my I feel is uncomfortable.
- 1:35:04[SPEAKER_03]: So Emily showers after practice walked to the locker room and we get our second a message and it says.
- 1:35:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's a handwritten note.
- 1:35:13[SPEAKER_02]: She is our only liar that does not get a text message.
- 1:35:17[SPEAKER_02]: So does that mean that A was in close proximity.
- 1:35:19[SPEAKER_02]: Does that mean she was in the locker room or maybe Spencer's real close by Spencer?
- 1:35:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think they might be trying to set us up to see it as Spencer in this in this moment.
- 1:35:28[SPEAKER_02]: So would you like to read the notes?
- 1:35:32[SPEAKER_02]: I've been replaced.
- 1:35:34[SPEAKER_02]: You found another friend to kiss.
- 1:35:36[SPEAKER_02]: A.
- 1:35:37[SPEAKER_02]: Which again, could only be Ali, we're just repeated like it's, yes.
- 1:35:42[SPEAKER_02]: Sterling it into us that this must be Alice and that she must not be dead.
- 1:35:46[SPEAKER_02]: And something that is also interesting to me in terms of just, again, like the logistics of this show is you now have a handwriting sample from A. Absolutely.
- 1:35:56[SPEAKER_02]: But they can't tell anybody about it.
- 1:35:59[SPEAKER_02]: So like she couldn't bring it.
- 1:36:00[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, cause listen, I understand.
- 1:36:04[SPEAKER_02]: She couldn't.
- 1:36:05[SPEAKER_02]: No, she couldn't.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_02]: They say it.
- 1:36:07[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, we, I can't go to anybody about this because if she did, people would know she and how he cares.
- 1:36:13[SPEAKER_02]: People would know she cares Maya.
- 1:36:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's fair.
- 1:36:15[SPEAKER_02]: She can't let anybody know.
- 1:36:16[SPEAKER_02]: She has a boyfriend number one.
- 1:36:18[SPEAKER_02]: You'd need to let him know.
- 1:36:19[SPEAKER_02]: Second of all, she's got this rep to protect.
- 1:36:23[SPEAKER_02]: She's not ready to come out.
- 1:36:25[SPEAKER_02]: Fair enough.
- 1:36:25[SPEAKER_02]: So she could not tell anybody.
- 1:36:27[SPEAKER_02]: Arya could not tell anybody.
- 1:36:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's what makes us so powerful is that she's literally using things that she knows.
- 1:36:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's so powerful.
- 1:36:34[SPEAKER_02]: They would never fucking rat on her.
- 1:36:38[SPEAKER_02]: They never would.
- 1:36:39[SPEAKER_02]: Or them, or he, we don't know who I is.
- 1:36:42[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:36:44[SPEAKER_02]: We're forgetting Phoebe's scene in the whole show, so she just told us it's probably not a she.
- 1:36:48[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, this scene makes me want to die.
- 1:36:50[SPEAKER_02]: It is arguably the most sexual scene I've probably seen in the show.
- 1:36:57[SPEAKER_03]: That's a big comment to make.
- 1:36:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it is.
- 1:37:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, but maybe one of the most uncomfortable sexual scenes.
- 1:37:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so like, it's overtly sexual.
- 1:37:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's horrible as it is.
- 1:37:09[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer is in a plaid, string bikini.
- 1:37:13[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, hair up, towel over her shoulder.
- 1:37:17[SPEAKER_02]: Renn walks in, wet, wet and he asks her if she had a tough day at school.
- 1:37:25[SPEAKER_02]: So he knows.
- 1:37:28[SPEAKER_02]: She's in school.
- 1:37:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he does not.
- 1:37:30[SPEAKER_02]: He's not confused.
- 1:37:32[SPEAKER_02]: He's a doctor.
- 1:37:32[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be a doctor.
- 1:37:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to be a student.
- 1:37:35[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:37:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's acknowledging the fact that she is in high school.
- 1:37:37[SPEAKER_02]: She says, uh, field hockey practice.
- 1:37:39[SPEAKER_02]: And he offers naturally a massage to give her massage while they are both basically naked.
- 1:37:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's disgusting.
- 1:37:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's like breathing on her neck.
- 1:37:49[SPEAKER_02]: In Spencer could not be more into it.
- 1:37:51[SPEAKER_01]: She's like that feels awesome, which is the least she was in breathing so hard.
- 1:37:57[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think she's had this type of attention from a man.
- 1:38:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and then and then Hark the Harold Angels sing.
- 1:38:07[SPEAKER_02]: When it's her, the she double Melissa.
- 1:38:11[SPEAKER_02]: She walks in there in this jacket.
- 1:38:14[SPEAKER_02]: She's got first lady energy.
- 1:38:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's starched.
- 1:38:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, every single piece of clothing in the Hastings home is starched.
- 1:38:20[SPEAKER_02]: We have been over that.
- 1:38:21[SPEAKER_02]: And she has groceries.
- 1:38:24[SPEAKER_02]: And she knows the woman's wife is in the home.
- 1:38:26[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 1:38:27[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer leaves gets out of the real quick.
- 1:38:29[SPEAKER_02]: Ren is left wanting more.
- 1:38:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then picks up the sparkling water because he knows
- 1:38:36[SPEAKER_02]: He would be can't leave this here.
- 1:38:38[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:38:38[SPEAKER_02]: Melissa will know Spencer was here.
- 1:38:39[SPEAKER_02]: So Melissa goes in for a kiss and run dodges.
- 1:38:43[SPEAKER_02]: He does, but then he dodges in a way that makes me wonder if that was actually blocked though.
- 1:38:47[SPEAKER_02]: I have to say because she like goes into kiss him and he's like looking down and he's like, Oh, shit.
- 1:38:52[SPEAKER_02]: And goes through so natural looking and she like does this big smile.
- 1:38:56[SPEAKER_03]: He's not like good of an actor.
- 1:38:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I think she does the smile that's very accurate.
- 1:39:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's like after the kiss and I'm like, I think maybe that miss wasn't supposed to happen.
- 1:39:07[SPEAKER_02]: But at so much, it only makes sense to begin this section with a shout out to our set and props team.
- 1:39:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, so Spencer is sixteen years old with a Victorian style bedroom.
- 1:39:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, these like thick like red sheep, burgundy and gold curtains and sheets and like dark wood, dark wood, every thing in her every piece of furniture that furniture set is like a dark cherry wood.
- 1:39:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's like as if she is working in her mother's room.
- 1:39:43[SPEAKER_02]: or lives in a haunted house.
- 1:39:45[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, yes, and when they got the spooky music and like at the end of the scene, when she's going to the window, I'm like, of course, you're fucking scared.
- 1:39:51[SPEAKER_02]: You literally live in a haunted house.
- 1:39:54[SPEAKER_02]: And it's the Hastings house.
- 1:39:55[SPEAKER_02]: So that's scary.
- 1:39:56[SPEAKER_02]: So it's already, yes.
- 1:39:57[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer is, you know, a reading to call a mockingbird, like a good student, and taking her a long time to read this book.
- 1:40:05[SPEAKER_02]: She's still, she's about four pages and no.
- 1:40:07[SPEAKER_02]: She's just she's laying on her bed white collar shirt vest and a tie the only thing that tells us she's relaxing is that she is not wearing shoes just her socks and that's probably because she's on the bed no she's in the bed so I'm shocked she'll have outside clothing bed
- 1:40:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know if Mrs. Hastings knows about it.
- 1:40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, she goes, she hears laughter, a raucous laughter.
- 1:40:36[SPEAKER_02]: She goes to the window.
- 1:40:37[SPEAKER_01]: What did she see?
- 1:40:38[SPEAKER_03]: Well, honestly, probably nothing from her window.
- 1:40:41[SPEAKER_03]: We see her window and it is caked with dirt and dust.
- 1:40:45[SPEAKER_03]: You can't see a thing out of that window.
- 1:40:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they were probably so focused on ironing her sheets.
- 1:40:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's dry cleaning.
- 1:40:54[SPEAKER_02]: Literally.
- 1:40:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, because those sheets are not wash or dry.
- 1:40:57[SPEAKER_02]: Friendly.
- 1:40:57[SPEAKER_02]: They don't tell you that.
- 1:40:58[SPEAKER_02]: They're probably fifty pounds.
- 1:41:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a weighted blanket before they were weighted blankets.
- 1:41:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean it.
- 1:41:03[SPEAKER_03]: So Spencer walks the window and she is just watching her older sister make out with her boyfriend.
- 1:41:09[SPEAKER_02]: And she's steaming and we have to wonder why.
- 1:41:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and Carol brought up a good point.
- 1:41:15[SPEAKER_03]: Is it jealousy for Ren or is that jealousy fueled by just her pure hatred?
- 1:41:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think it has to be hatred for Melissa.
- 1:41:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's like I'm so mad at you.
- 1:41:24[SPEAKER_02]: You're standing on the threshold of the bar and I spent all some more working on your with this guy.
- 1:41:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be pretty much such a big
- 1:41:31[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't have talked to you for a couple weeks probably.
- 1:41:33[SPEAKER_01]: I would be looking for a way to get back at you.
- 1:41:38[SPEAKER_03]: I would have just not talked to you.
- 1:41:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's interesting.
- 1:41:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's interesting.
- 1:41:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think I got a perfect blend of the Hastings.
- 1:41:45[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I think you're right.
- 1:41:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not ashamed.
- 1:41:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:41:48[SPEAKER_02]: So Spencer's, you know, looking.
- 1:41:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then she gets an email.
- 1:41:53[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer's preferred way of being gay.
- 1:41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:41:56[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes a day do you think Spencer uses the word privy?
- 1:42:02[SPEAKER_03]: upwards of twelve yeah probably she definitely like started studying for the SAT vocab section like in sixth grade when she had braces yeah he absolutely so it's once again's her first a message and it says poor Spencer
- 1:42:18[SPEAKER_03]: always wants Melissa's boyfriends.
- 1:42:20[SPEAKER_03]: But remember, if you kiss, I tell.
- 1:42:24[SPEAKER_02]: So the audience now, at this moment, we're like, what do you mean she always wants Melissa's boyfriends?
- 1:42:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, don't worry.
- 1:42:30[SPEAKER_02]: We get a flashback in this flashback.
- 1:42:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's like corner.
- 1:42:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's savage.
- 1:42:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have to kind of come back to it as you keep watching the show and finding out more things.
- 1:42:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:42:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it makes a lot more sense.
- 1:42:41[SPEAKER_03]: Enter Spencer's pilot kitchen.
- 1:42:44[SPEAKER_03]: The Hesien's kitchen changes.
- 1:42:45[SPEAKER_03]: Thank God because this is the ugliest kitchen ever seen in my entire life.
- 1:42:48[SPEAKER_03]: Spencer's bedroom.
- 1:42:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think they get an entire new Hesien's.
- 1:42:53[SPEAKER_03]: as they should.
- 1:42:54[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's Allison Hannah Spencer in the kitchen.
- 1:43:00[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, we have it's hefty Hannah.
- 1:43:02[SPEAKER_02]: So she couldn't possibly break to panic cookies.
- 1:43:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's important to know that Aliens Spencer and bathing suits Hannah and us watch her.
- 1:43:10[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah has absolutely tiny arms.
- 1:43:13[SPEAKER_02]: We know she's not hefty.
- 1:43:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I have to say it.
- 1:43:15[SPEAKER_02]: She reaches for a cookie.
- 1:43:17[SPEAKER_02]: Allison, like, I mean, I want to use a really bad word.
- 1:43:21[SPEAKER_02]: She literally looks her.
- 1:43:22[SPEAKER_02]: Are you really gonna eat that, sweetie?
- 1:43:24[SPEAKER_02]: Sweetie.
- 1:43:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm being a friend.
- 1:43:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's the difference between me and Hannah.
- 1:43:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:43:30[SPEAKER_02]: You might think they were more similar, but that's the difference.
- 1:43:32[SPEAKER_02]: I would have beat her upside the fuck.
- 1:43:34[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 1:43:34[SPEAKER_02]: You're not that Hannah.
- 1:43:36[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 1:43:37[SPEAKER_02]: You're in here.
- 1:43:37[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:38[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:38[SPEAKER_02]: You're in here.
- 1:43:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're in here.
- 1:43:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're in here.
- 1:43:39[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:40[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:40[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:41[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:41[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:42[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:44[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:45[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:45[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:48[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:48[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:50[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:50[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:51[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:51[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:52[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:52[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:54[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're in here.
- 1:43:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're in here.
- 1:43:57[SPEAKER_02]: You're in here.
- 1:43:57[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:58[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:58[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:59[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:59[SPEAKER_03]: You're in here.
- 1:43:59[SPEAKER_03]: You
- 1:44:00[SPEAKER_03]: Melissa and Ian are walking to the kitchen, holding hands, and they also high and says, you working on your stance or I don't play sports, but something for Fialtocky, and Melissa goes, you're not her babysitter, and Ali looks like, oh, I know.
- 1:44:18[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you know, we're more than that, Melissa.
- 1:44:20[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to be a babysitter.
- 1:44:22[SPEAKER_03]: And Ali looks at everybody in the room and shoots daggers, and then looks right at Spencer and says,
- 1:44:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you need to show your sister.
- 1:44:29[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:44:29[SPEAKER_02]: She says, you need, oh my God, if my friend did that.
- 1:44:32[SPEAKER_02]: I would be, we wouldn't be friends.
- 1:44:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yes, she'd be fucking dead.
- 1:44:36[SPEAKER_02]: No wonder this girl was dead.
- 1:44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:44:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'll say it.
- 1:44:41[SPEAKER_02]: You need to tell your sister, and Spencer, like, literally, like, I swear almost lunges across the table and stabs her in the head.
- 1:44:48[SPEAKER_02]: And most of you goes, what do you need to tell me?
- 1:44:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like so biggie.
- 1:44:53[SPEAKER_02]: Excellent line reading.
- 1:44:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, thank you so much.
- 1:44:55[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer looks at Alex's outside.
- 1:44:58[SPEAKER_02]: The way Alex walks outside of the door is incredible.
- 1:45:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like she is like a kid in trouble.
- 1:45:05[SPEAKER_02]: She is a fucking kid.
- 1:45:06[SPEAKER_02]: She's fourteen thirteen in this episode in real life.
- 1:45:10[SPEAKER_02]: She's like literally ten years younger.
- 1:45:12[SPEAKER_02]: I can't get over it.
- 1:45:13[SPEAKER_02]: But you did notice.
- 1:45:14[SPEAKER_02]: I can't embarrass the possibly the only moment of comedy in the entire series.
- 1:45:19[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah Marin is perfectly framed in a sliding glass door behind this intense conversation between Spencer and Ali.
- 1:45:27[SPEAKER_02]: And to lighten the mood, what does Hannah begin doing?
- 1:45:30[SPEAKER_02]: She starts eating that goddamn cookie good for you, Hannah.
- 1:45:33[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:45:34[SPEAKER_02]: She's literally like the meme of someone standing out like eating something like watching a fucking eating popcorn like watching a fight.
- 1:45:40[SPEAKER_03]: But this scene is very important for a lot of reasons because we
- 1:45:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's for some of you here with the Jenna thing.
- 1:45:45[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:45:46[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 1:45:47[SPEAKER_02]: And they, okay, I have to say.
- 1:45:49[SPEAKER_02]: They could not have thought of a better name than the Jenna thing.
- 1:45:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let me tell you, okay, if I knew a girl named Jenna, who, like, mysteriously went blind one summer.
- 1:46:00[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, spoilers.
- 1:46:01[SPEAKER_02]: Mysteriously went blind one summer.
- 1:46:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then I heard four girls
- 1:46:05[SPEAKER_02]: who have a dead friend saying, the chana thing.
- 1:46:08[SPEAKER_02]: We can't talk about the chana thing.
- 1:46:10[SPEAKER_02]: I would be like, there are the reasons she's blind.
- 1:46:12[SPEAKER_02]: I would put the fucking pieces together.
- 1:46:13[SPEAKER_02]: Would you not?
- 1:46:14[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, I don't know if I would, but other people would.
- 1:46:17[SPEAKER_03]: I sure would.
- 1:46:18[SPEAKER_03]: Another reason the scene is very important is because it starts to play into the Ali Spencer dynamic, which is the most unique probably of the four because they're very similar.
- 1:46:26[SPEAKER_03]: The power struggle.
- 1:46:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:46:29[SPEAKER_03]: And some things that we find out later in the series that
- 1:46:31[SPEAKER_03]: It makes them closer than you could ever.
- 1:46:33[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, right.
- 1:46:34[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine.
- 1:46:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know about this.
- 1:46:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:46:36[SPEAKER_03]: And I think Allie knew that's where we're at.
- 1:46:39[SPEAKER_03]: We hear about the Jenna thing.
- 1:46:41[SPEAKER_03]: Allie and Spencer talking about how Spencer likes to make out with Melissa's boyfriends.
- 1:46:47[SPEAKER_03]: Good for her.
- 1:46:49[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:46:49[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you, you as this orders history would have that same.
- 1:46:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, to me, I'm not really worried that you and Anthony are going to start making out.
- 1:46:56[SPEAKER_02]: We wouldn't.
- 1:46:57[SPEAKER_02]: And neither of you are sneaking enough to pull it off.
- 1:47:00[SPEAKER_03]: That is very true.
- 1:47:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yet another uncomfortable scene.
- 1:47:05[SPEAKER_03]: They're not uncomfortable.
- 1:47:05[SPEAKER_03]: Just awkward scene with Emily.
- 1:47:08[SPEAKER_03]: And Arya is in it.
- 1:47:10[SPEAKER_02]: But Emily, I think is the common denominator in these awkward.
- 1:47:13[SPEAKER_02]: Emily has seen every single scene she's in, which I guess is checks out because she's something to hide.
- 1:47:19[SPEAKER_02]: She's constantly probably your age.
- 1:47:21[SPEAKER_02]: She is the only one with something to hide.
- 1:47:22[SPEAKER_02]: No, but I mean, she's probably like on guard all the time.
- 1:47:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 1:47:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that I think they all are.
- 1:47:29[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not Hannah.
- 1:47:31[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not Spencer.
- 1:47:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Arya and Emily, maybe that's why they gravitate towards me.
- 1:47:35[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it was like, Arya has never been bitched anybody, but she was rude to Emily the first thing they met.
- 1:47:41[SPEAKER_03]: And now they're like back on Arya's porch and Arya's trying to play the nice guy and she's like,
- 1:47:46[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you're any tiny, but you know we all fell out with each other.
- 1:47:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but don't forget that we're not we're not friends anymore.
- 1:47:53[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, so Emily is kind of trying to figure out if maybe any of the other girls are starting to get messages from this A person.
- 1:48:02[SPEAKER_03]: And immediately, Arya is like, yes.
- 1:48:04[SPEAKER_02]: But what's so tough is that they can't be like, okay, let's compare like that side.
- 1:48:09[SPEAKER_02]: Because I would be like, wait, show me yours.
- 1:48:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to show you mine.
- 1:48:11[SPEAKER_02]: And let's try to figure out who's doing this, but they can't do it.
- 1:48:14[SPEAKER_02]: And for Arya, especially because it's not just bringing her and Ezra down, it's her dad and her.
- 1:48:20[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah.
- 1:48:20[SPEAKER_02]: That situation.
- 1:48:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot.
- 1:48:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's a heavy weight to bear.
- 1:48:24[SPEAKER_02]: And so they're kind of like, should we Emily says should we tell someone and Arya goes?
- 1:48:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about you, but I can't, which is what I was saying earlier, they can't.
- 1:48:35[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 1:48:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that.
- 1:48:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I have to say this pilot is honestly one of the best first episodes of a TV show I've seen in terms of like the story telling because it really gives us like
- 1:48:48[SPEAKER_02]: each of these girls has like the spotlight on them for a little bit.
- 1:48:51[SPEAKER_02]: We really learn a lot about them.
- 1:48:52[SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, sympathize with them, but we also see like their flaws.
- 1:48:56[SPEAKER_02]: And we see how they're all intertwined.
- 1:48:58[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just a really, really strong pilot.
- 1:49:00[SPEAKER_02]: And I think like I really realize it in this scene with Hannah because they don't they don't like try to like ration out the drama.
- 1:49:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 1:49:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like they give you just a single season.
- 1:49:10[SPEAKER_03]: And they don't tell us the entire story about Hannah's dad leaving.
- 1:49:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, there's just two as like an crumbs, but they're not saying like, oh, we've done enough in this episode.
- 1:49:19[SPEAKER_02]: So like, we don't need to do anything else dramatic.
- 1:49:21[SPEAKER_02]: We'll save the Hannah stuff for the next episode.
- 1:49:23[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, no, we're going to do it all here, but each of these gross story that we're going to like
- 1:49:27[SPEAKER_03]: They're so much more into the service that we can expand on later.
- 1:49:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which I just think is great.
- 1:49:31[SPEAKER_02]: But so in the scene, we get this glimpse at Hannah's home life and I also think this scene's really good because we see a lot of like subtext like there's they're not talking about what's happening, but it's very like telling.
- 1:49:42[SPEAKER_02]: So first they've ordered takeout check and see their salads.
- 1:49:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, a goat move.
- 1:49:46[SPEAKER_03]: We see Hannah's mom.
- 1:49:47[SPEAKER_03]: This is the first scene of Hannah's mom.
- 1:49:49[SPEAKER_02]: hate the banks want hate the banks loved woman and she is taking like half of the salad out of and she's putting the salad on to a plate she's moving the salad in the box to a plate but you're not taking the whole salad and it's a salad so it's like all right that's weird they're not taking the whole salad because they're always died and they're very very into their appearance
- 1:50:12[SPEAKER_03]: They're awake.
- 1:50:13[SPEAKER_03]: And then we see Hannah at the dinner table as they're talking, picking the croutons out of her salad and moving them to the side, so she doesn't need them.
- 1:50:20[SPEAKER_02]: But nothing is ever set about either of these two things, which I think is what makes it so great.
- 1:50:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like these little things if you're not really watching for it.
- 1:50:27[SPEAKER_02]: You might miss it, but it tells you a lot about their relationship and they're also their relationship with food.
- 1:50:33[SPEAKER_02]: And at this point, we don't know that Hannah's called hefty Hannah at this point, but we've seen
- 1:50:38[SPEAKER_02]: That she was not the egg girl before.
- 1:50:41[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 1:50:42[SPEAKER_03]: And we see that Ali makes slight comments, but we don't know the full story yet.
- 1:50:45[SPEAKER_02]: Until we get our A message.
- 1:50:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let me do you have Arya has that moment where she's like, that's her.
- 1:50:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, right.
- 1:50:53[SPEAKER_02]: Very offensive way.
- 1:50:55[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so they're eating dinner.
- 1:50:57[SPEAKER_03]: Spencer texts Hannah all caps.
- 1:51:00[SPEAKER_03]: Sign text, which Caroline says isn't weird, but I do think it's not weird.
- 1:51:03[SPEAKER_01]: But we have to remember that these girls have grown apart, like they haven't spoken in like a year.
- 1:51:07[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah probably got a new phone because she's being cooler now.
- 1:51:12[SPEAKER_02]: She genuinely might not have had Spencer's phone number.
- 1:51:15[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, whatever.
- 1:51:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's weird.
- 1:51:16[SPEAKER_02]: There's an arc on the door, Ashley Mary gets a phone call, so Hannah has to go answer it.
- 1:51:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's who else, then, Darren Bolden, are... And an unnamed police officer.
- 1:51:26[SPEAKER_02]: Darren Bolden, the worst ever problem.
- 1:51:28[SPEAKER_02]: I hate him so much.
- 1:51:29[SPEAKER_02]: But he's got that kind of hot bad boy side.
- 1:51:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's common with cops, I would say.
- 1:51:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like in television shows, they're always like the bad boy.
- 1:51:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that's real because if that was real, they'd be more likable.
- 1:51:39[SPEAKER_03]: I love a bad boy.
- 1:51:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, then opens the door and he says to Ashley, who comes up to the door behind her.
- 1:51:48[SPEAKER_02]: No, but she says, well, first he has Hannah.
- 1:51:50[SPEAKER_02]: Are you Hannah Maran?
- 1:51:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, right.
- 1:51:52[SPEAKER_02]: Which I honestly we need to look at the protocol, but I don't think.
- 1:51:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, absolutely not.
- 1:51:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's really a lot to ask that.
- 1:51:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then then Ashley Maran, she comes with her behind her.
- 1:52:02[SPEAKER_03]: What's going on?
- 1:52:03[SPEAKER_03]: Well, then says we have your daughter for theft.
- 1:52:07[SPEAKER_03]: She stole Paris sunglasses in the mall and he immediately basically handcuffs her like
- 1:52:11[SPEAKER_02]: I literally, her mom was like, yeah, that's has to be a mistake.
- 1:52:15[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I don't think so.
- 1:52:17[SPEAKER_02]: And he has handed her around and handcuffs her.
- 1:52:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I just absolutely don't think what they should have done is like, meet a station or like, do you want to come with us?
- 1:52:25[SPEAKER_03]: And like, can we ask you a few questions?
- 1:52:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, she's a minor in a central proven guilty bitch.
- 1:52:29[SPEAKER_01]: They handcuff the minor.
- 1:52:31[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 1:52:32[SPEAKER_03]: So they take her to the station.
- 1:52:33[SPEAKER_03]: She's sitting in a chair.
- 1:52:34[SPEAKER_03]: You see that Ashley and Wildin are talking.
- 1:52:36[SPEAKER_03]: Well, then trust the door.
- 1:52:37[SPEAKER_03]: Hannah goes to pick up a handful of candy.
- 1:52:39[SPEAKER_03]: It gets a text.
- 1:52:41[SPEAKER_02]: Drops every piece of candy back into the bowl, which is... As if she's living this carefree life, never knowing of any pandemic, lucky bitch.
- 1:52:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's so violent.
- 1:52:52[SPEAKER_03]: She did that regardless of the pandemic.
- 1:52:54[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, she gets a text.
- 1:52:56[SPEAKER_03]: It is also, of course, an A text.
- 1:52:59[SPEAKER_03]: And what does A have to say to Hannah?
- 1:53:01[SPEAKER_02]: Probably the one that makes me want to cry the most out of all of these.
- 1:53:05[SPEAKER_03]: Well, in this episode, but there is one that aid us to Hannah that, like, actually, I can't even watch it.
- 1:53:11[SPEAKER_02]: But I think also there's a big difference between the texts that ASN into the other girls, because the texts that ASN into the other girls, this is about something that you did.
- 1:53:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is about how Hannah looked.
- 1:53:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it is about, you know, she's going to present because she doesn't think bad, but it's mostly about like your biggest secret, your biggest problem is that you're like a former fat kid.
- 1:53:31[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:53:32[SPEAKER_02]: So Hannah's text says, be careful, Hannah.
- 1:53:35[SPEAKER_03]: I hear prison food makes you fat.
- 1:53:37[SPEAKER_03]: Which is so mean, it makes Hannah feel so bad.
- 1:53:41[SPEAKER_03]: But she doesn't have very much time to feel bad about it because immediately every cop in Rosewood starts
- 1:53:47[SPEAKER_02]: running out of the precinct time to go followed by her mother who rushes in and out and they're sitting in the car and and she says you know like any mother like she pulls a pride fields so it you know she asks Hannah like is this because of your dad it's a cry for help and Hannah's like I made a mistake but we were watching this when you brought up like I think an important point like no kid knows they're crying for help when they're crying for help so like why have I asked Hannah that although obviously it's clearly
- 1:54:15[SPEAKER_02]: that she is, let me wear a tan chin.
- 1:54:17[SPEAKER_02]: But Sue, yeah, they are.
- 1:54:19[SPEAKER_01]: Her mom's like, I buy you everything you need to be popular in that moment.
- 1:54:23[SPEAKER_01]: I thought of our own mother.
- 1:54:25[SPEAKER_01]: Her eyes are best.
- 1:54:27[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 1:54:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it's more than enough.
- 1:54:28[SPEAKER_03]: And we also thought about our dad and how he would have reacted.
- 1:54:33[SPEAKER_03]: Had we been in the situation because Ashley says you will deny anything ever happened.
- 1:54:39[SPEAKER_03]: And my first thought was, if this was one of us,
- 1:54:44[SPEAKER_03]: Our father would have paraded us around our hometown in an orange jumpsuit with a megaphone like yelling out like exactly what they stole sunglasses.
- 1:54:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, our our mom literally like she wouldn't be my first phone call if I was arrested.
- 1:55:00[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, absolutely not.
- 1:55:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'd have to get out of jail before I could really think about how it's going to because even just car accidents like I'm like literally who else could I call a few he said for three things just three minor having for like not even five years we find out where all this damn cops were headed
- 1:55:21[SPEAKER_03]: They were headed to, well, now the Saint Germain households.
- 1:55:23[SPEAKER_02]: But at one point, I do learn to us how.
- 1:55:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and how is the scene started with my favorite song in the whole series?
- 1:55:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we just take so many for my world to come crumbling down.
- 1:55:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Emily's theme song.
- 1:55:42[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, no, we want her theme song to be, but it's iconic.
- 1:55:45[SPEAKER_03]: It really is.
- 1:55:46[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely think that that made it its way on to one of my playlists.
- 1:55:49[SPEAKER_02]: So absolutely, but I do have to say that I think, okay, and this is controversial.
- 1:55:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think they could have switched the song for the funeral scene, the song, and that song, and it actually might have even worked better.
- 1:56:05[SPEAKER_02]: No, the funeral scene is, no, I didn't completely disagree.
- 1:56:08[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but think about, well, maybe the scene at the house with that.
- 1:56:11[SPEAKER_02]: I do agree, but the funeral scene would not have worked with the other one.
- 1:56:15[SPEAKER_03]: And I do also wonder if, I mean, I doubt it, but maybe they knew they were going to use that song for another death that happens later.
- 1:56:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably at least theme.
- 1:56:25[SPEAKER_02]: which is so sad, so sad.
- 1:56:27[SPEAKER_02]: But so we all the girls are starting to arrive and they see, along with the entire neighborhood.
- 1:56:32[SPEAKER_02]: The whole town is just, there's no shame in how bad they are.
- 1:56:36[SPEAKER_03]: And Emily has no regard for the fact that people are like respecting boundaries of the law enforcement, Emily barrels right through and friends Maya and Maya says, they found your friend and Emily goes, oh my God.
- 1:56:47[SPEAKER_03]: and knew she'd be back.
- 1:56:48[SPEAKER_03]: Is she inside?
- 1:56:50[SPEAKER_02]: Bitch.
- 1:56:51[SPEAKER_02]: Is it her house anymore?
- 1:56:53[SPEAKER_02]: Even if she was alive, she wouldn't be in there.
- 1:56:56[SPEAKER_02]: Also, like, look over on you for a sec.
- 1:56:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:56:59[SPEAKER_02]: Probably you need to see her.
- 1:57:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, honestly, I probably would have been there.
- 1:57:03[SPEAKER_03]: She would have been like, if she walked out of the same domain house.
- 1:57:06[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, because she'd been missing for a year.
- 1:57:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I mean.
- 1:57:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:57:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think she'd be agged.
- 1:57:10[SPEAKER_02]: People where I don't want to be like, oh my God, we're so glad you're alive.
- 1:57:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think a lot of Rosewood felt that way.
- 1:57:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think everyone loves a crime.
- 1:57:17[SPEAKER_02]: They would come together for that.
- 1:57:19[SPEAKER_03]: Fair enough.
- 1:57:19[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, then we see Hannah arrive.
- 1:57:22[SPEAKER_03]: We see Arya arrive.
- 1:57:26[SPEAKER_03]: We do see Spencer.
- 1:57:27[SPEAKER_02]: We see Spencer shrouded in darkness.
- 1:57:30[SPEAKER_02]: A single beam of white light coming down the center of her face all the way on her toes.
- 1:57:35[SPEAKER_03]: The only way we know it's Spencer is because of the collar of her shirt.
- 1:57:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's jarring.
- 1:57:40[SPEAKER_03]: She's standing.
- 1:57:41[SPEAKER_03]: She looks very much like a kid at their parent's doorway, like having this hell.
- 1:57:46[SPEAKER_03]: I just throw up like that is what she looks like.
- 1:57:48[SPEAKER_02]: She also looks like someone capable of murder.
- 1:57:50[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say.
- 1:57:51[SPEAKER_02]: So are you a ghost?
- 1:57:52[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, I don't need to come any closer.
- 1:57:54[SPEAKER_02]: I know what's happening.
- 1:57:56[SPEAKER_02]: I know what they found.
- 1:57:59[SPEAKER_02]: Under the gazebo, thoughts up.
- 1:58:01[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, it goes up and sees her immediately throws Hannah under the bus and says, heard that you're a candidate to the police station today.
- 1:58:09[SPEAKER_02]: You don't think she told her about the Jenna thing.
- 1:58:11[SPEAKER_02]: Enter Hannah Marin.
- 1:58:12[SPEAKER_02]: She said, we made a promise.
- 1:58:14[SPEAKER_02]: So fucked up.
- 1:58:16[SPEAKER_02]: you blinded a girl.
- 1:58:17[SPEAKER_02]: But this is clearly what comes back and is going to bring them all back together.
- 1:58:22[SPEAKER_02]: It is what drove them apart and brings them back together is the death and the closure of Allison de Laurentis, but also the secrets aren't over.
- 1:58:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they're not just worried about what someone could think about the disappearance of Ali.
- 1:58:36[SPEAKER_02]: They have to worry about the gender thing.
- 1:58:38[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 1:58:38[SPEAKER_03]: So all this happens.
- 1:58:40[SPEAKER_03]: We see the body bag.
- 1:58:41[SPEAKER_03]: We have a funeral to get to.
- 1:58:43[SPEAKER_03]: We really do, and it's one of the most amazing, pretty little liar moments in all seven seasons probably.
- 1:58:50[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, a really impressive ending for a pilot.
- 1:58:53[SPEAKER_02]: So we get to the best scene of the whole pilot, and probably one of the best, like, final scenes of any pilot I've seen.
- 1:59:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's also one of my favorite, just pretty little iron scenes.
- 1:59:05[SPEAKER_03]: I could watch it over and over and over again.
- 1:59:07[SPEAKER_02]: Perfectly timed with the different characters and the music and, like, the text, like, everything is just, like, literally runs like a well-oiled machine I would say.
- 1:59:17[SPEAKER_03]: They really put all of their best cinematography, directorial experience into this one section of the show.
- 1:59:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like the stakes are so high for a pilot, especially for the last scene, because if people don't like it, people don't want to know what happens next, the show does not continue.
- 1:59:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that it just nailed it, honestly.
- 1:59:40[SPEAKER_02]: And so it starts, you know, they're all walking in, Arya's standing in the stairwell.
- 1:59:44[SPEAKER_02]: looking at the window and a stained glass window which I don't believe she can see out of but nevertheless she's watching everyone or pretending she's watching everyone come in and Mr. Fitz approaches her for some reason Mr. Fitz is out this funeral does not know Allison
- 2:00:00[SPEAKER_02]: Just started teaching at Rosewood.
- 2:00:01[SPEAKER_02]: And to be quite honest, not sure if he even stays for the funeral.
- 2:00:06[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of is like, he goes because he knows already is going to be there.
- 2:00:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then he's like, piss you ox away.
- 2:00:11[SPEAKER_02]: And then yeah, that's a good idea.
- 2:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if that is why he went.
- 2:00:15[SPEAKER_02]: We should ask him.
- 2:00:15[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 2:00:19[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so we ask her if she knew her well and apologizes for staying away from her and for being a jerk and about.
- 2:00:27[SPEAKER_02]: Allison and Arya being so much her and just, you know, what she's an old soul.
- 2:00:34[SPEAKER_02]: She would call herself.
- 2:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, for sure.
- 2:00:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not.
- 2:00:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just not like other girl.
- 2:00:39[SPEAKER_02]: Again, take me pick me pick me through and through and so she gives him this like dramatic kiss and the cheek and she starts to walk away and then
- 2:00:46[SPEAKER_01]: but also like walking away just slow enough like she's like kind of like oh my gosh yeah I didn't pay attention to like the direction that she's walking she's like gonna walk straight into the wall she's not about to go on a step she's like I have been instructed by the director to start walking away but don't get far enough that he can't grab you and then Ian Harding goes in for the grab
- 2:01:08[SPEAKER_03]: She like grabs her arm.
- 2:01:09[SPEAKER_02]: You can like see his hand like squeeze around her arm.
- 2:01:13[SPEAKER_02]: Literally, he yanks her like a rag doll.
- 2:01:15[SPEAKER_02]: But she's about the size of a rag doll.
- 2:01:17[SPEAKER_02]: Literally.
- 2:01:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, tell you, the audience was raised.
- 2:01:21[SPEAKER_02]: He was reached with this scene.
- 2:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: Aided up, they make out.
- 2:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: They pace their kissing so well that it is like so believable.
- 2:01:30[SPEAKER_02]: Lots of starts and stuff.
- 2:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:01:31[SPEAKER_02]: Also isn't believable because she's sixteen.
- 2:01:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's fair, but like I'm
- 2:01:35[SPEAKER_02]: eleven year old fee be again who did do thought that this was sixteen I was like oh my god I just feel like a sixteen year old doesn't kiss like a twenty three year old that way you know they shouldn't be kissing the same way they shouldn't be kissing period
- 2:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: Because they shouldn't be kissing at all.
- 2:01:52[SPEAKER_02]: But Ari is the one, ultimately.
- 2:01:54[SPEAKER_02]: Again, we go back to that scout, moral or amoral.
- 2:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: Why is she more of the voice of reason than he is like half the time?
- 2:02:01[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, he's like fucking with her a lot.
- 2:02:04[SPEAKER_02]: And she's the one who like first breaks away from that kiss.
- 2:02:07[SPEAKER_02]: His mouth is a gap at the top of his stairwell.
- 2:02:09[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, so let's talk about where this is happening fully on a stairwell.
- 2:02:13[SPEAKER_03]: That like every single parent at that funeral had to have been looking up watching that high.
- 2:02:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I think I've mentioned this before, but every single one of these girls has zero shame in the things they're doing.
- 2:02:23[SPEAKER_02]: So like Hannah is fully just like walking out of them all with the Gucci sunglasses, like literally smurking at the security guards.
- 2:02:30[SPEAKER_02]: Spencer's kissing her sister's boyfriend and her bedroom with the door open.
- 2:02:34[SPEAKER_02]: Arias now kissing her teacher at the funeral where every another another public place in Rosewood really like everyone is walking and it's like you know those steps are like in the entrance of the church and all things walking through them the most well attended funeral probably ever like every single person rosewood is there whether they knew her not and it's like these are their massive secrets and it makes them so anxious whenever they get a text about it and say girl why are you like
- 2:03:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I knew I was that, everybody know.
- 2:03:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, okay, so just go to the police.
- 2:03:04[SPEAKER_02]: You're not doing a great job keeping half of the stuff secret.
- 2:03:07[SPEAKER_02]: A could literally be anyone at this point because you are so fostered.
- 2:03:10[SPEAKER_02]: Probably all of Rosewood, like you guys are stupid.
- 2:03:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like, let's team up because I need these girls so much.
- 2:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, because she walks on the steps, Mr. Fitz is astounded that she would.
- 2:03:20[SPEAKER_01]: do such a thing drives him freaking crazy.
- 2:03:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so Ariah walks into the funeral.
- 2:03:26[SPEAKER_02]: She's greeted by Mrs. Dilarantes, who's like, I want you girls to sit in the front and they all go sit in the front together as if there's no awkwardness really between them.
- 2:03:35[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah grabs Ariah's hand, which I always think is interesting because Hannah could not have been meaner
- 2:03:41[SPEAKER_02]: I know like if that's what I'm saying like none of them are like there's there's awkwardness throughout the whole show until we get to like this point and they're like suddenly and it's not just like Pleasantries.
- 2:03:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's like they're actually like whole earth animal Hannah again back to the like being so like recklessly bold Hannah pulls a fucking
- 2:03:59[SPEAKER_02]: and the front row of the church and like not trying to hide from anyone.
- 2:04:05[SPEAKER_02]: She hands it to Emily.
- 2:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't know why she skipped Arya or Spencer, but she's Emily.
- 2:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm only one.
- 2:04:10[SPEAKER_02]: Take your really solemn.
- 2:04:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, so yeah, so she hands it to Emily and Emily is like, no, thanks, I don't.
- 2:04:15[SPEAKER_02]: But you don't what?
- 2:04:16[SPEAKER_02]: You don't drink?
- 2:04:18[SPEAKER_01]: You smoke with Maya?
- 2:04:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe it for a goddamn set.
- 2:04:21[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to go to that point.
- 2:04:22[SPEAKER_02]: And neither does Hannah, because Hannah says today you do.
- 2:04:25[SPEAKER_02]: Today I think you do.
- 2:04:27[SPEAKER_02]: And that is what we call peer pressure.
- 2:04:29[SPEAKER_02]: So Mrs. Dilarentus comes and sits down next to the girls and is immediately ready to gossip.
- 2:04:34[SPEAKER_02]: Very Alice and Dilarentus.
- 2:04:36[SPEAKER_02]: She sits down and she says, did you see Jenna Marshalls here?
- 2:04:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Jenna Marshall from the Jenna thing.
- 2:04:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the blind girl.
- 2:04:42[SPEAKER_02]: Entered the chat has entered the church.
- 2:04:45[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 2:04:46[SPEAKER_02]: With Toby on her arm.
- 2:04:47[SPEAKER_02]: She's causing a scene.
- 2:04:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's the first time we see her, right?
- 2:04:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's the first time we see her, right?
- 2:04:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's the first time we see her, right?
- 2:04:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's the first time we see her.
- 2:04:52[SPEAKER_02]: The entire church is like a buzz.
- 2:04:54[SPEAKER_03]: Which is ridiculous because she is blind not deaf.
- 2:04:57[SPEAKER_03]: She can hear all of you talking about her.
- 2:04:58[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, I feel like they probably haven't seen her.
- 2:05:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like she's come out.
- 2:05:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like she was blinded, like within basically the last year, like a year ago.
- 2:05:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:05:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now this might be the first time that they're really seeing her.
- 2:05:08[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 2:05:08[SPEAKER_02]: She went away.
- 2:05:09[SPEAKER_02]: She went to Philly.
- 2:05:10[SPEAKER_02]: So Mrs. Dilarantess is like automatically like who a fucking invited this bit or they even friends and Spencer goes no No, they weren't Mrs. Dilarantess.
- 2:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want me to go kick her out?
- 2:05:21[SPEAKER_02]: I have no problem asking her to leave.
- 2:05:22[SPEAKER_02]: I actually know I owns a lawyer and I have no problem.
- 2:05:25[SPEAKER_02]: This is actually so disrespectful.
- 2:05:26[SPEAKER_02]: This is a close
- 2:05:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to ask her to show me her invitation.
- 2:05:29[SPEAKER_02]: Mr. Fitz and an officer will then you guys stay but Jenna and knock off Toby.
- 2:05:34[SPEAKER_02]: We, oh, and then of course, who can't forget, Arya gets a text and everyone in the pew shutters.
- 2:05:40[SPEAKER_02]: They're pissed.
- 2:05:41[SPEAKER_02]: No, but everybody in the church is pissed at her phone.
- 2:05:43[SPEAKER_02]: For a single actor, these extras were told exactly what's a fucking do and they understood the assignment.
- 2:05:49[SPEAKER_02]: But it's just a text from Ari as mom.
- 2:05:51[SPEAKER_02]: But it's enough to trigger everyone so that they're like, so should we talk about the elephant in the room?
- 2:05:57[SPEAKER_02]: And they realize they're all gonna use tags from it.
- 2:05:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 2:06:00[SPEAKER_03]: So the funeral ends, and like Spencer and Hannah said, it was a scene that Ali would have loved.
- 2:06:06[SPEAKER_02]: She would have popular in life and I love that.
- 2:06:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I kind of want that on my tombstone popular in life.
- 2:06:13[SPEAKER_02]: Death noted.
- 2:06:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I take notes for my funeral, but I want to pink casket on that bullshit.
- 2:06:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I want them to carry me, well, okay, wait, okay, this is also important to note that casket is in the church before the funeral starts, which is not typical of a funeral, typically that casket is carried down the aisle by like their loved ones.
- 2:06:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so it makes me wonder, I have a theory that maybe there's no one in that casket and that's why they couldn't have anyone carry it down because the people would have been like, why is it so fine?
- 2:06:43[SPEAKER_02]: If I do, she's not in here.
- 2:06:44[SPEAKER_03]: I do agree that maybe there's not anybody in there, but I'm not entirely convinced.
- 2:06:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's like anything sinister.
- 2:06:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's more that they need her body for like,
- 2:06:53[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 2:06:53[SPEAKER_02]: Our topsy stuff.
- 2:06:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 2:06:56[SPEAKER_02]: They just found the body.
- 2:06:58[SPEAKER_02]: But it's just interesting.
- 2:06:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I want to be absolutely carried down.
- 2:07:02[SPEAKER_02]: So if you have to wait, you wait.
- 2:07:04[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 2:07:04[SPEAKER_02]: He used to wait for the autopsy to be done because I know all time is seriously.
- 2:07:08[SPEAKER_02]: If you have to wait, that's okay.
- 2:07:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 2:07:11[SPEAKER_02]: So the funeral ends.
- 2:07:12[SPEAKER_02]: They're all walking up.
- 2:07:13[SPEAKER_02]: Phoebe thinks they all look incredibly suspicious.
- 2:07:15[SPEAKER_03]: They look a little bit nervous on edge.
- 2:07:18[SPEAKER_03]: They're very, they're like walking to by two and like linked arms and something interesting.
- 2:07:24[SPEAKER_03]: We have our ballet flats in the front.
- 2:07:27[SPEAKER_03]: Heels in the back.
- 2:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no.
- 2:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: We have our ballet flats in the back where they belong.
- 2:07:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and those heels in the front.
- 2:07:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:07:32[SPEAKER_02]: Do we think that was a wardrobe decision because Spencer and Emily are taller?
- 2:07:38[SPEAKER_02]: To other heights, yes.
- 2:07:39[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 2:07:40[SPEAKER_02]: But it's really unfortunate for them.
- 2:07:42[SPEAKER_02]: They're the two that I would most believe would wear the flats.
- 2:07:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but also they are significantly.
- 2:07:46[SPEAKER_02]: Let me move to see how it looks like.
- 2:07:49[SPEAKER_02]: She's literally like an elf.
- 2:07:50[SPEAKER_02]: So she's absolutely old.
- 2:07:53[SPEAKER_02]: She's so pretty.
- 2:07:54[SPEAKER_02]: She's so pretty.
- 2:07:55[SPEAKER_02]: She's like striking.
- 2:07:56[SPEAKER_02]: But she is.
- 2:07:57[SPEAKER_02]: Pick her up.
- 2:07:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:07:59[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so they're walking out.
- 2:08:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there's suspicious.
- 2:08:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think they literally just look emotionally exhausted, which would make perfect sense.
- 2:08:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 2:08:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:08:07[SPEAKER_02]: They look a little sus to me.
- 2:08:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I think Wilden feels the same way.
- 2:08:10[SPEAKER_03]: He shared it before of them.
- 2:08:12[SPEAKER_03]: Walked to the corner.
- 2:08:13[SPEAKER_03]: They're ready to go mourn.
- 2:08:15[SPEAKER_03]: And Wilden approaches them and they're talking.
- 2:08:18[SPEAKER_03]: And he informs them that this is no longer a missing person investigation.
- 2:08:23[SPEAKER_03]: It is a murder.
- 2:08:24[SPEAKER_02]: A murder investigation is going to have to interrogate each of them one by one make sure their stories match, which would scare the app.
- 2:08:31[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely shit out of me.
- 2:08:32[SPEAKER_02]: But they know he's going to do it.
- 2:08:34[SPEAKER_02]: They have time to prepare.
- 2:08:35[SPEAKER_02]: And they have prepared.
- 2:08:37[SPEAKER_02]: And they have.
- 2:08:37[SPEAKER_02]: We will see that in the next episode.
- 2:08:38[SPEAKER_02]: But one of the best moments I think of this scene is when the music stops.
- 2:08:43[SPEAKER_02]: He says his line.
- 2:08:44[SPEAKER_03]: And he says no, he says.
- 2:08:47[SPEAKER_03]: And rest assured, I will find out what happened that summer.
- 2:08:50[SPEAKER_03]: And then the music starts again.
- 2:08:51[SPEAKER_03]: And Emily has this look on her face and the way that they have the girl standing with the camera.
- 2:08:57[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 2:08:58[SPEAKER_02]: Emily, she's just like, nah, nah, nah, nah, oh my god.
- 2:09:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's perfect.
- 2:09:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's like Danny drops.
- 2:09:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
- 2:09:06[SPEAKER_03]: So the camera goes back over and follows will than us.
- 2:09:09[SPEAKER_03]: He's walking away, leans up against the tree.
- 2:09:11[SPEAKER_03]: As soon as he does that, Toby and Joe walk out of the church, get into the car.
- 2:09:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's incredible.
- 2:09:17[SPEAKER_03]: Then we come back to the girls.
- 2:09:18[SPEAKER_03]: They're now in a semicircle.
- 2:09:20[SPEAKER_03]: All of their phones ring.
- 2:09:21[SPEAKER_02]: I have to say, I don't know why the fuck they didn't just get out of there.
- 2:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Wildon says this, I would have been like, let's go get lunch right now so we can talk about what the fuck I do.
- 2:09:29[SPEAKER_02]: That would have been a court.
- 2:09:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think if they had stayed, maybe look like they were waiting for their parents.
- 2:09:33[SPEAKER_03]: If they had just left as soon as that conversation was over, it would have looked like exactly that.
- 2:09:38[SPEAKER_02]: But then he wouldn't have seen them all receive a text at the very same time and look extremely guilty because they're all like looking over their shoulders.
- 2:09:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's like I think honestly would have been less incriminating if they just got the hell out.
- 2:09:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm sure they weren't at this point.
- 2:09:51[SPEAKER_03]: They weren't anticipating the attacks.
- 2:09:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't fucking know why not.
- 2:09:55[SPEAKER_02]: If I was getting taxed from A, I would be on my toes at all times.
- 2:09:59[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be sleeping.
- 2:09:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, for Emily and Spencer, they're still just receiving their A messages via carrier pigeon.
- 2:10:06[SPEAKER_02]: You can't get any hanged in an owl.
- 2:10:08[SPEAKER_02]: They're just sending it back.
- 2:10:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh wait, they have your phone number.
- 2:10:11[SPEAKER_02]: I got it.
- 2:10:11[SPEAKER_01]: I just had my lockers like a phone.
- 2:10:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm on the way.
- 2:10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I was watching the Beyoncé video too much.
- 2:10:19[SPEAKER_01]: I actually took my phone out.
- 2:10:20[SPEAKER_03]: I actually told my mom that I was watching the Beyoncé over too much.
- 2:10:25[SPEAKER_01]: But as long as Beyoncé is releasing new music, I don't have a phone.
- 2:10:28[SPEAKER_02]: My phone schedule syncs up with her release schedule.
- 2:10:31[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, anyway, they all get a text from A and that text says.
- 2:10:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still here, bitches.
- 2:10:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I know everything.
- 2:10:39[SPEAKER_01]: And everything.
- 2:10:40[SPEAKER_02]: They all read it in unison.
- 2:10:41[SPEAKER_02]: So then it just pans out.
- 2:10:43[SPEAKER_02]: We see the chaos.
- 2:10:44[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody leaving the funeral.
- 2:10:45[SPEAKER_02]: We see the girls looking around.
- 2:10:46[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 2:10:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, then it's still on the tree.
- 2:10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Just watching them.
- 2:10:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 2:10:50[SPEAKER_02]: And then we bring us right back into the church.
- 2:10:52[SPEAKER_02]: We just take one last look at Ali's photo smiling.
- 2:10:56[SPEAKER_03]: So innocently like their teen year old girl does.
- 2:10:58[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 2:10:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's important to note this is not an A scene.
- 2:11:01[SPEAKER_03]: This is just a last few at Ali's.
- 2:11:04[SPEAKER_02]: Linda, we start getting the A scene.
- 2:11:06[SPEAKER_03]: next episode.
- 2:11:07[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, to kill a mocking girl.
- 2:11:08[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's the episode we get.
- 2:11:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:11:11[SPEAKER_02]: Those are awesome.
- 2:11:11[SPEAKER_02]: I always used to be so excited to wait for the day.
- 2:11:13[SPEAKER_02]: And they would scare the hell out of me as kids.
- 2:11:16[SPEAKER_02]: You never fucking knew.
- 2:11:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know the hands.
- 2:11:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's that.
- 2:11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay.
- 2:11:21[SPEAKER_02]: So that's the end of the episode.
- 2:11:22[SPEAKER_02]: So yes.
- 2:11:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they went off the bang.
- 2:11:24[SPEAKER_02]: They left us wanting more.
- 2:11:26[SPEAKER_02]: And we are certainly going to get more, maybe more than we asked for.
- 2:11:29[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 2:11:30[SPEAKER_03]: So before we close out this week's episode, we are going to read the synopsis.
- 2:11:36[SPEAKER_03]: Did I say that word, right?
- 2:11:38[SPEAKER_03]: Synopsis?
- 2:11:39[SPEAKER_02]: Synopsis?
- 2:11:40[SPEAKER_02]: Synopsis?
- 2:11:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:11:41[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't sound right when I said it.
- 2:11:43[SPEAKER_02]: Synopsis.
- 2:11:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to read the synopsis.
- 2:11:47[SPEAKER_02]: Say, say, synopsis again.
- 2:11:50[SPEAKER_02]: So next week we'll be recapping the genna thing.
- 2:11:53[SPEAKER_03]: The circumstances surrounding Allison's disappearance continue to haunt Arya Emily Spencer and Hannah as questions arise about the night she went missing.
- 2:12:02[SPEAKER_02]: The return of Jenna Cavanaugh to Rosewood makes the girls face an unpleasant path.
- 2:12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 2:12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I did not realize that Hannah's name is spelled H-A-N-N-A, which is so, like, sassy.
- 2:12:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's perfect.
- 2:12:16[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if she had the H. I would say that she dropped it.
- 2:12:19[SPEAKER_01]: She said I'm dropping the H for hefty, so that's it.
- 2:12:22[SPEAKER_01]: She just dropped down dropping it.
- 2:12:25[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I also have to say we get like our little, you know, photo teasing us for the following episode.
- 2:12:30[SPEAKER_02]: And what do we see on Ariana Montgomery's body of us?
- 2:12:34[SPEAKER_02]: And let me actually tell you something is there no Spencer looks great.
- 2:12:38[SPEAKER_02]: I like this album.
- 2:12:39[SPEAKER_02]: She looks great.
- 2:12:40[SPEAKER_02]: She looks like a paralegal, but I
- 2:12:42[SPEAKER_02]: like she's in college town like lost.
- 2:12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's in college.
- 2:12:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I guarantee you next week caught me on this.
- 2:12:48[SPEAKER_03]: I guarantee you she's wearing Oxford, like loafers with no salt.
- 2:12:51[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, we do see that the like cuff on her blaster does not match the blue of her button down.
- 2:12:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:12:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little less.
- 2:12:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little less.
- 2:13:00[SPEAKER_01]: It Melissa had seen her that morning.
- 2:13:01[SPEAKER_01]: She should have slapped her.
- 2:13:03[SPEAKER_01]: Should have backhand her across the base of the change pitch.
- 2:13:06[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that's about it.
- 2:13:08[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you guys so much for listening to our very first pretty little podcast.
- 2:13:13[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to try to get on some kind of a release schedule.
- 2:13:17[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're sticking with us and we do have our Instagram app.
- 2:13:21[SPEAKER_02]: It is pretty underscore and little underscore pod.
- 2:13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully that has about your appetite for what's to come.
- 2:13:27[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 2:13:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm Phoebe.
- 2:13:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Caroline and this was the pretty little podcast.
