- 0:02do like a. Problem people are gonna watch
- 0:04this and be like we're the problem.
- 0:05You guys are the villain. We're the problem.
- 0:07Absolutely. Gonna say it before you guys can
- 0:09say it. We are.
- 0:10Yeah, no, I acknowledge it. I said earlier I want to be the
- 0:12villain. Why did your uncle go to jail?
- 0:14Let's stop it right? I will think back and like thank
- 0:17God I can't remember anything ever because honestly if I could
- 0:20remember half the shit I've said and done over a man I would
- 0:22probably. Oh my God, I'm the most
- 0:25embarrassing when it comes to man.
- 0:26It's so fucking embarrassed, like.
- 0:28The embarrassing thing is, is the man, because it's like, why
- 0:31am I acting so crazy over this guy?
- 0:34Like who is this? This is just some guy.
- 0:35This is just. Some guy.
- 0:53Hello Spooky Lulus, and welcome back to Delulu and a very
- 0:56special Halloween episode of Delulu with the perfect guest
- 1:00for it. We are joined by Miss Dark Pop
- 1:03Siren herself. Elise.
- 1:05Hi, thank you so much for being. Here, thank you for having me.
- 1:08You were literally, we've been playing this episode for I want
- 1:10to see, I want to say over six weeks now.
- 1:13So like almost two months, which is a long time planet episode,
- 1:15but we were like really looking for the perfect Halloween
- 1:18episode guest. I'm so honored.
- 1:20You embody. It honored.
- 1:21That is like the best compliment to me.
- 1:24Like Halloween episode. Yeah, I'm happy to be here.
- 1:26Oh my God, you were the Halloween episode.
- 1:28And you're also the perfect guest for the season of Delulu
- 1:31because Season 2 of Delulu, which we're on right now, is
- 1:33Delulu After Dark. Love it.
- 1:36And we're about to get a little dark in here, which is actually
- 1:38kind of funny. We were talking before this show
- 1:40started and you're super bubbly and bright.
- 1:42Yeah, you know, a lot of people when they meet me think I'm
- 1:45going to be very like brooding and yes, and dry.
- 1:48But I'm actually, I feel like my personality is very opposite to
- 1:51my aesthetic and my music. That's so funny 'cause I
- 1:54actually literally not on no ironic shit.
- 1:57I think I'm very brooding and dry, but I think my like entire
- 2:01vibe comes off very bubbly and bright.
- 2:02Yeah. So I wait, do you did you think
- 2:05I come up with like brooding and dry?
- 2:06No, I think you come off like you're definitely outgoing and
- 2:09bubbly, but you just have like the little like dry sarcasm,
- 2:13which I love you. Clock that humor.
- 2:15I saw it. I I real recognize real.
- 2:17Real recognize real 'cause I feel like a lot of people on my
- 2:19team like are still learning that like what just how I talk
- 2:22and how I interact and how I am. They're always like, wait.
- 2:25And I'm like, yeah, no, that's what that is.
- 2:27OK, Real recognize real. I love it.
- 2:29Well, welcome to the Lulu After Dark, you guys.
- 2:31If you're not watching on the Spotify version of the show, we
- 2:34decorate the set for Elise and for Halloween.
- 2:38So we have a little spider web action going on.
- 2:41We love it. And this is our friend, our
- 2:43other guest, Frankie this. Is Frankie.
- 2:45This is Frankie. You can't see, but he has a
- 2:47bunch of crystals in his lap and we're we're about to get spooky
- 2:51up in this bitch. He's a witch.
- 2:53He's 4 foot 10. He's single.
- 2:55Yeah. You know what to do.
- 2:56The Hinge profile for Frankie 4 foot 10 I mean.
- 3:00He went up to like here. On you're right, you're accurate
- 3:02'cause you're 5. 210 I'm 5/2 so he he's a tall boy.
- 3:06He's a tall boy. We love a short king.
- 3:08Yeah, in the stuffed animal genre, he's a tall boy, but he's
- 3:12he could be a short king. Yeah, and he's available.
- 3:16Well, at least I just met you. But I want to know everything
- 3:18about you. Can you, like, tell us where
- 3:19you're from, what's going on here, how you ended up in LA
- 3:23making music? For sure.
- 3:25I, I'm from the Bay Area originally, so I grew up around
- 3:28San Francisco. My family moved around the Bay a
- 3:30lot. I have one younger brother and
- 3:33him and I always grew up playing a ton of music.
- 3:36No one else in my family is super musical.
- 3:38But then my brother and I just like, came out and started going
- 3:41crazy and yeah, I was always singing.
- 3:43He was always playing piano. He's like a classically trained,
- 3:46like insane pianist. So we would always just kind of
- 3:49be doing that. And I grew up like knowing I
- 3:52wanted to sing so bad. That was I ever wanted.
- 3:54Literally my first e-mail address in like third grade was
- 3:57pop star elise@yahoo.com. Oh my God, you kind of
- 3:59manifested that. No, I've.
- 4:01Been manifesting like I have journals from like first grade
- 4:04where it literally is like before I even knew what
- 4:06manifestation was I would just be like I want to be a pop star
- 4:09I want to be a pop *10 times in a row.
- 4:11Who do I want to meet? Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber Like
- 4:14I would I just always knew I wanted to sing my whole life
- 4:18were. You like into manifestation.
- 4:20Like at the time, no, I was like a child but you.
- 4:22Were just like writing that I was.
- 4:23Just like writing that. I mean I guess I was manifesting
- 4:26but I. Was manifested.
- 4:27Yeah, I've just been diarying and journaling about that since
- 4:32I was a little child because I always loved to write too, but I
- 4:36didn't put songwriting together until later.
- 4:38But yeah, I was just like journaling and stuff.
- 4:39But I knew I wanted to do music, so I moved here very young,
- 4:43which was a crazy decision. Were here.
- 4:46I was 17 when I moved here, 17 with like no parents, like I was
- 4:50just living on my own. Wait, So what?
- 4:52Like, so you wanted this your entire life, but then you come
- 4:54out to LA to do this? Like, what made you think like,
- 4:56OK, I'm gonna go for it? Like I'm actually gonna do it.
- 4:59Honestly, blind confidence, love it and like delusion.
- 5:03Like Delulu? Delulu, delulu.
- 5:05Literally have never once. I mean, obviously I'm normal,
- 5:09like I'm a human. I have moments of doubt.
- 5:10But my ultimate overarching feeling has never been like, oh,
- 5:14I'm scared to do that. It's always been like, I'm just
- 5:17gonna do it and see what it's not gonna like I'm like, I'm a
- 5:19warrior. Like I'm gonna go for it.
- 5:21I'm just like, yeah, let me do this and see if it works out.
- 5:24And if it doesn't, I also think I'm not super terrified of
- 5:27failure because I've had so many of them.
- 5:29Yeah, that that's just like kept me in the game because I'm like,
- 5:32it's OK, there will be another thing.
- 5:34Did you have like a Plan B when you came?
- 5:35I'm out here. No.
- 5:36I love that. Not when I came out here.
- 5:38I definitely go on side quest sometimes.
- 5:41Like I've randomly done college, not not to degree level, but
- 5:45like there was two years where I was like going on tour and like
- 5:48doing finals. Like I just have random side
- 5:50quest moments. But no, no.
- 5:52Really. You know that's not the path
- 5:53you're trying to do though. Yeah, it's more like I'm just a
- 5:55Virgo and really love. I've got a.
- 5:58Virgo too. When's your birthday?
- 5:59It was 2 weeks ago. Happy birthday to you.
- 6:02Happy birthday to you. Wait, what day?
- 6:04August. 26th. OK.
- 6:05You're in August. Virgo.
- 6:06Yeah, you're in August. Virgo Yeah, I'm the 10th.
- 6:08Oh my God, that was recent. Yeah, like last week.
- 6:11Happy birthday. Thank you.
- 6:12OK. Wait, so all your life, you
- 6:13know, you want to be an artist? No doubt about that.
- 6:15Yeah. And you just went for it.
- 6:17I just started going for it. I mean I definitely took some
- 6:21major tumbles along the way and I think like my lore is so dark
- 6:25and extensive because of moving to LA at 17.
- 6:28Oh my God, it's such an evil city.
- 6:30Like I love LA so much, and that's actually a little bit of
- 6:33why I love LA. So it's a little evil, you know
- 6:35what I mean? I find I act myself to be more
- 6:39like darker. At least I don't know how to
- 6:41explain it. I act in myself like darker.
- 6:42I like the darker things too, because I know for you, a lot of
- 6:45influences in your music, your aesthetic, your visuals are
- 6:49darker leaning. Yeah.
- 6:51Yeah, big time and I love that. Thank you.
- 6:53I I've always loved doing like the Halloween sort of like dark
- 6:56aesthetic. Honestly, how I first started
- 6:58was putting out Halloween EPS. That was like some of my first
- 7:01releases was just like Halloween themed EPS, which like now is
- 7:06like so dark pop vibes. But back at the time, dark pop
- 7:09wasn't really being like back at the times, but honestly, yeah,
- 7:12like 2018, 1920, yeah, yeah. Dark pop wasn't like being used
- 7:16really as a term yet. So I was just like, I'm making
- 7:18Halloween music. Oh, that's so.
- 7:20Cute. And it was so fun.
- 7:21I've done like 4 of them, or maybe five of them.
- 7:24No, I've done four of them. So I don't do them every year
- 7:26but like some Octobers when they roll around.
- 7:29Your fans look forward to it cuz I seen your comments.
- 7:31They're asking like, is there gonna be a Halloween project
- 7:33this year? Right.
- 7:34Yeah. And this is the Halloween
- 7:36episodes. So happy Halloween, everyone
- 7:37happy watching right now. But yeah, Halloween is so deeply
- 7:41ingrained in your lore, too. Do you feel like you've always
- 7:44just loved like that holiday in general, or is it just the
- 7:46darkness of it? I've always loved Halloween.
- 7:49I love to dress up like I love a costume I love.
- 7:51That's what's fun about being a pop star too.
- 7:53It's like. Oh, it's so is it's like
- 7:54Halloween all the time. Like I'm literally anytime I'm
- 7:57on a video shoot or anything where I get to.
- 7:59Like dress up. It's just the best.
- 8:01I'm like, I feel like a little kid in the little Cinderella
- 8:03slippers and like the toys are Princess dress.
- 8:06But yeah, I think for me it's the holiday and the darkness of
- 8:10it all. Cuz I've just always been super
- 8:11into like horror genre stuff like growing up reading and
- 8:15watching movies and stuff that was kind of my my go to genre
- 8:18and still is. So that's just like what came
- 8:21naturally to me, I guess. Was not bad.
- 8:24It was like a conscious decision when you're making your music
- 8:26initially that you knew you wanted to be darker.
- 8:28So again, we're not. We weren't defining it as dark
- 8:30pop at the time. You were just like, oh, it's
- 8:32Halloween. Yeah, exactly.
- 8:33Or just like, oh, I love, you know, at the time I loved like
- 8:37Melanie Martina. Not that I don't love any of
- 8:39them still, but like Melanie, Martina is Lana Del Rey the
- 8:42neighborhood. Moodier.
- 8:43Moodier Yeah. And I was reading like, you
- 8:47know, James Patterson or weird, like, horror novels.
- 8:51So that's just kind of like what came out.
- 8:53Oh my gosh. And now it's like translating so
- 8:54well into your entire like vibe too.
- 8:57Thank you. And I feel like you do it so,
- 8:58so, so well. Like it feels, obviously it's
- 9:00natural to you, but it also feels like it's something that's
- 9:03like, we were just peeking into your mind, you know?
- 9:06I really love your visuals. So for the ones that you did for
- 9:09Runaway Bride, it's so like, I was just, I was playing it for
- 9:12my roommate Jamika over there and I was like, I love how
- 9:15simple it is and like, it's just like gritty and grainy, you know
- 9:19what I mean? I love shit like that.
- 9:20So so so so so much. Thank you.
- 9:22I really do too. And that was like a huge thing I
- 9:25wanted on the album was for the visuals to be very sleek and
- 9:28simple. Because in the past I've been
- 9:30very like over the top. We're talking about like
- 9:32costumey stuff, like very cost to me, very like, you know, the
- 9:36highest level of like getting glammed and doing all the
- 9:39things. And for this I still wanted it
- 9:41to feel very like sexy and glam, but in a more like sleek, mature
- 9:45way. Absolutely, yeah.
- 9:46It feels like you don't have to do too much either because it's
- 9:48translates so well. You know, it's just sensual.
- 9:51I think that's the best way I could describe it.
- 9:53And then you audition for X Factor.
- 9:55Oh my God. Wait, talk about X Factor.
- 9:59Oh, let me talk about X Factor. First of all, I I would like to
- 10:02thank the people that run The X Factor YouTube channel for never
- 10:07uploading my live audition. Amen.
- 10:09Thank. You no, it was really good.
- 10:11Like I got all I mean, maybe I don't know.
- 10:14I never saw it, but I think I ate because I got yeses like
- 10:18everyone was like yes, except Kelly Rowland.
- 10:21Kelly Rowland, Like she's on my up list.
- 10:25Oh, no. Because tell me why.
- 10:26OK, let me go and get let me get into it.
- 10:28OK, I'm. I'm painting the picture for you
- 10:30here. I'm 1414.
- 10:32I'm like, Mom, I need to audition for The X Factor.
- 10:34I'm literally gonna like, hold my breath until I die.
- 10:37Until you say. Love it and.
- 10:38She's like, OK, let's go do it. Shout out my mom, shout out
- 10:41Luna. She's always supported my
- 10:42dreams. We go to the big cattle call,
- 10:44like in Cow Palace in San Francisco.
- 10:47It's like 60,000 people auditioning.
- 10:49We should. It's insane Someone Like You by
- 10:53Adele was banned to sing because everyone was singing Someone
- 10:57Like You and that of course was the song I had prepared so I had
- 11:00to think fast. Wait, you didn't know you got
- 11:03there? I didn't know.
- 11:04No, they just started telling people no more Someone Like You.
- 11:07We've heard Someone Like You. Too many times.
- 11:09Today, so I switched and I sang Fallen by Alicia Keys, which is
- 11:13like has always been my go to karaoke song.
- 11:15And I made it through. There's like 4 rounds of like
- 11:18auditions before you even get to go on like the stage where it's
- 11:22the first round with all the celebrity judges.
- 11:24So I was just doing that and it's like a 4-5 day process.
- 11:27I made it to the end. They're like cool, you're going
- 11:30to Hollywood. I'm like, wow, I'm literally
- 11:32about to become Hannah Montana. I mean literally.
- 11:34And my family drives down to LA, I go do the live audition.
- 11:39I sing Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood.
- 11:41Yeah, it's a. Credible.
- 11:43Song, but they didn't understand me.
- 11:45And they all gave me yeses. But then Kelly Rowland just had
- 11:48to say something. She was like, that song's a bit
- 11:50old for you, don't you think? She was like, have like you?
- 11:54I didn't feel the emotion. She never experienced that.
- 11:57I was like, babe, I'm in 7th grade.
- 11:58Yeah, like there aren't many songs that I've experienced.
- 12:01And you're like, I'm an 8th, 7th grader.
- 12:04Like, period. So then I was like, wait, don't
- 12:07say no to me, let me sing you something else.
- 12:10And then I sang Fallen by Alicia Keys, and then she gave me yes.
- 12:13So I actually got all yeses, but it was so dystopian because they
- 12:16had me do an interview saying like, I'm so happy I made it
- 12:20through before I even went on stage.
- 12:22Oh shit, that. Interview that's on YouTube
- 12:25that's like so cringe. That was stage.
- 12:27It was. Stage.
- 12:28It's all fake. Oh my God, you just exposed it.
- 12:30The more you know exposing The X Factor.
- 12:33Exposing The X Factor? No, you honestly just burned a
- 12:35bridge of Kelly Rowland. The X Factor, Kelly.
- 12:38Rowland, I'm calling you out. Oh shit, oh shit.
- 12:41Just kidding, you're such an icon.
- 12:42Yeah, it was a joke. It was a joke.
- 12:44It. Was a.
- 12:45Joke. Don't come for her.
- 12:46Don't come for delulu. OK, Well, it's a good thing that
- 12:51you didn't get through though, because I feel like the way that
- 12:53your your career is going anyways, like do you feel like
- 12:56if The X Factor was like, let's say you took it all the way,
- 12:58right, Yeah. What do you think would have
- 13:00been different? Do you think it would have been
- 13:01better? No, yeah, I'm so happy that I'm
- 13:04a big believer that everything happens the exact way it's
- 13:07supposed to. 100%. I think if we don't think that,
- 13:09then we'll just always spend time like reminiscing and
- 13:12regretting and living in the past.
- 13:14So who knows, Like maybe it could have been cool, maybe it
- 13:16would have been horrible. I personally, I'm happy it
- 13:19didn't happen because I was so young and so nervous and just so
- 13:24not comfortable in myself. Yeah, I was such an insecure and
- 13:27like, I was confident in my vocals.
- 13:30I always have been really confident in my singing, like,
- 13:32and getting on stage and performing.
- 13:34But I was super unconfident in my looks and my personality in
- 13:38like so many other areas of myself that I think at that time
- 13:41and at that age, if somebody would have been like, OK, this
- 13:44is the kind of like artist you're gonna be, I would have
- 13:46been like, yes, chef, and just done it.
- 13:49Absolutely. Cuz then like, honestly, it's
- 13:51hard to find your own artistry at what, 14?
- 13:52You said like you're still figuring out who you are exactly
- 13:55how you're going to figure out like what kind of artist you
- 13:57are, Right. Yeah.
- 13:58So honestly, that makes sense, I think.
- 14:00Do you think if you audition like a little older it would
- 14:02have been different? Maybe you?
- 14:04Dwell on it a lot. How often do you reflect on The
- 14:06X Factor? Very little, OK, but I will say
- 14:11some of the other shows do hit me up to come audition and like
- 14:15come. Out would you do it?
- 14:16I, I don't know, no, maybe I would like American Idol and and
- 14:21the voice and you know, the other ones, they definitely come
- 14:25every season and they're like, hey, and I'm always like.
- 14:29No, really. So you said no to them, but you
- 14:31said yes to delulu. Yeah.
- 14:32Exactly. OK.
- 14:34This is way more fun than that period.
- 14:36But no, I might I who knows. I won't count that out of my
- 14:40potential future. Yeah, I like keeping like
- 14:42options open too. So like, honestly, if it makes
- 14:44sense for wherever you are in life, fuck it.
- 14:48Fuck it. Oh my God.
- 14:49Absolutely. OK, So now we're on this
- 14:51journey. You're doing your music, you're
- 14:53discovering your artistry. You started the Halloween EPS.
- 14:55Did you always know you wanted to lean in this like dark pop
- 14:58direction? Just like, was it just because
- 15:00like this EPS were like something that you felt natural
- 15:02in or did you always have that vision because you said your
- 15:05early influences were like Lana and like Melanie Martinez and
- 15:08they're obviously like more alternative Moody's.
- 15:11Definitely. I mean, I think I was so
- 15:13influenced by like Marina and Melanie Martinez when I was
- 15:16younger. Like it definitely shows in my
- 15:18older music and visuals, but I was just very inspired.
- 15:22Those were like some of the first artists that I was like
- 15:25wow. Cuz like I said, I'd been
- 15:27singing my whole life and like writing separately.
- 15:29Like I loved English. I was always in like the
- 15:32advanced English class and just reading and writing a ton.
- 15:34Not a math girl at. All Oh my God same these.
- 15:36Girl like no no same these unfortunately for me.
- 15:40I mean, you don't need it, it's OK, So what do you need it for?
- 15:44Shit is crazy when you like. Can we swear on this?
- 15:47Fuck yeah. OK, beautiful.
- 15:49I like the other. Not the other day.
- 15:51Literally like a year ago. OK.
- 15:53Bad amount. Coming through divide something
- 15:55and I went to write down the little long division thing and
- 15:58put in the numbers. I was like that is OK.
- 16:00Fucking God I forgot how to fucking do long division.
- 16:03Don't ask me right now. Up a YouTube video for like
- 16:06middle schoolers. And you teach myself, you know,
- 16:08like calculator. Can, but I wanted to just like
- 16:10do. It for like the thrill of it.
- 16:12And then I was like, I can't. Yeah, like I forgot like.
- 16:16OK, wait, could you do it now? No.
- 16:18OK, Divide 64 by 8. Go.
- 16:20Oh, you ate that? You ate that?
- 16:22Yeah. Do you know the nines trick?
- 16:24No. What does it teach us?
- 16:25OK. 10 fingers up. 10 fingers up. 10 fingers up.
- 16:28Every finger from your left hand to your right is numbered one
- 16:32through 10. OK so your left pinky is 1 and
- 16:34your. Right.
- 16:34I'm already lost, I'm not going to lie.
- 16:36Wait, put your hands the way my hands.
- 16:38OK, I'm looking. Left pinky is 12345678910 right?
- 16:42Yeah 10 OK 9 * 2 So you put your second finger down is 18189
- 16:49times 3 Put your third finger down is 20 seven 9 * 436.
- 16:55I'm not gonna lie, girl, there's a lot for me.
- 16:57I trust you though. Did I know I explained it?
- 17:00I'm gonna use the calculator I feared.
- 17:02No, you wouldn't explain it. Well, when you did the 18 one, I
- 17:05saw it. I see what you mean.
- 17:06It's a one. Times 5 and that's 8145.
- 17:10There's four on this side and then this is like the space and
- 17:13then there's 5. This has become such an
- 17:15educational show. I'm loving it.
- 17:17I'm living. To the stem tab of TikTok.
- 17:20Oh my God, please. I'm sure the algorithm will be
- 17:22better for. Yeah.
- 17:24Honestly, we're gonna we'll clip that for them, OK?
- 17:27But sorry, we got on this fucking math tangent.
- 17:30Math Tangent. No, I mean, you're right, it was
- 17:32very important. Kids, please learn your math.
- 17:33Please like, actually stop using chachi BT it's scary, yeah.
- 17:37Just just do the math. Just do the math.
- 17:38You have the little nine, trip it up.
- 17:40There you go. But yeah, I, I knew I always
- 17:44wanted to have this sort of darker aesthetic.
- 17:46And it's not even something that I like really planned super hard
- 17:51to have. It was more like I just started
- 17:54making things I liked. And I was working with my
- 17:56brother a lot at the time. So my brother was producing
- 17:58almost everything. And we were like babies.
- 18:00Like we were like 17 and 19. So we just started making stuff
- 18:04we loved. And I was definitely influenced
- 18:06by my musical influences, but I was also so influenced by like
- 18:10the depressed humbler girl. Like I was the target demo for
- 18:14that and. You're getting content for them.
- 18:17Like actually though, I grew up like literally obsessed with
- 18:21Tumblr, constantly blogging. The first time I ever had
- 18:23something go like, viral was on Tumblr.
- 18:25Like I thought I was so. Not the OG viral.
- 18:29That's crazy. I went to school the next day.
- 18:30Like, yeah, I. Had like a million notes my.
- 18:31Post Yeah 100,000 Notes. Oh, you're hot shit now?
- 18:37But yeah. The Tumblr girlies were eating
- 18:39it up. What was the post?
- 18:40It was literally me in fishnets. Like it I was laying on a bed so
- 18:44my legs were up in the air and I was taking a picture of my
- 18:47boots. Honestly they weren't that
- 18:48different than these and like ripped up fishnets and a lighter
- 18:51and sig in my finger like in my hand.
- 18:53Oh my God, 2014 in. My head.
- 18:55And then my mom grounded me and got mad at me because she was
- 18:59like, why the fuck do you have a cigarette?
- 19:00And I had to be like, Oh my God, it was just a prop.
- 19:03It was a prop. It wasn't a.
- 19:04Prop Oh shit, Luna. Luna.
- 19:07Does she know now? Is this how we're finding out?
- 19:09She definitely does. One thing about my mom is no
- 19:11matter how old I get, she's gonna leave her commentary.
- 19:14Like I just got this tattoo on tour and she I didn't tell her
- 19:19obviously I wasn't with her. And one day I just got a text
- 19:21from her and it's just a picture zoomed in on my hand and it
- 19:25just. She clocked what the.
- 19:26Fuck I'm like bro. She clocked it.
- 19:29She clocked. Oh my God.
- 19:30I'm scared for her feedback on this show.
- 19:32She's gonna love it. Luna.
- 19:33What do we think so far? Luna, let us know your comments.
- 19:36We actually or maybe OK, I need to tell you about your music.
- 19:41So basically I come from a place where I'm like just naturally
- 19:45like very much like lover girl, like very like whatever, like
- 19:48pink women's gold, whatever romantic whatever you will no
- 19:51one make eye contact with me right now.
- 19:53Please. You know who you are.
- 19:55No one look at me. So when I was originally doing a
- 19:57deep dive on your music, you know, it's just so like, I want
- 20:01to see like revenge pop, like very like scorn pop or whatever,
- 20:05so. When we began working on this
- 20:07episode, I was like, love this, but I'm not really there.
- 20:11But like as we progressed, I got a little scorned.
- 20:14So then I was like, oh, I'm really going to.
- 20:16I'm really going to dive into this now.
- 20:17I'm really feeling it. That's the time.
- 20:19You're making the music for the girlies, so thank you so much.
- 20:22Of course. Like I love what you said.
- 20:25Thank you so much. No you, I feel seen, but I love
- 20:28what you said about like how making a song is like the final
- 20:32boss for you and this is how you can like emotionally move on and
- 20:34like let yourself and be done with that situation.
- 20:38I feel the same way when I'm making things because I like to
- 20:40take like my pain and suffering and I always tell people I'm
- 20:43like, it's always worth it if you create something cool out of
- 20:46it. So even it sucks, you know what
- 20:48I mean? It's like if we get something
- 20:49out of it then fuck it. Exactly.
- 20:52Like to me that honestly makes the chaos and like the horrible
- 20:56things. So it's such a higher high than
- 20:59the low low because it's like afterwards you get this
- 21:01insanely, this thing that you're so proud of that you're like, I
- 21:04only have this because you fucked me over.
- 21:06So like, I hate you but kind of thing.
- 21:08Oh my God, we know. I feel so seen 'cause it's
- 21:10exactly how I feel it's like. It's closure.
- 21:13I don't believe in closure. There's a hot really.
- 21:16Closure is some. Wait, actually I don't believe
- 21:18in closure either. It's.
- 21:19Bullshit. You just gotta move on.
- 21:21You just. Gotta go.
- 21:21Like, I don't know why people think there will be some last,
- 21:24OK, maybe other people are like, healthier than me, but this has
- 21:27never been my experience. OK.
- 21:29Like, what? Conversation is gonna ensue
- 21:32after things and especially if they end like badly.
- 21:35Like one person did the other wrong and one person is like
- 21:38scorned and hurt. At that point, like, why even
- 21:40talk? Why talk?
- 21:41Why talk? Bye.
- 21:42Yes. Move on.
- 21:43What is there to say and? Here's the thing, do whatever
- 21:46you want if you know what you're getting yourself into, but don't
- 21:49bullshit yourself. Like if you're going to go hang
- 21:51out with your ex at 1:00 AM, go, you know, go get it.
- 21:54Do it. Go get that shit.
- 21:56But don't sit there like, Oh yeah, we're going to talk and
- 21:57have closure. No.
- 21:59No, I, I, I'm right there. I literally just tweeted, not
- 22:02tweeted. I threaded the little Twitter
- 22:04for Instagram, whatever. I literally was like closure is
- 22:06a scam, just move on. Just move on.
- 22:08Just move on and the the person that hurt you is not going to
- 22:10tell you any arrangement of words that are going to change
- 22:13what they did to you and it's not going to make you feel any
- 22:16better. It really isn't because you
- 22:17think having that conversation or getting that closure will
- 22:20help you move on. And honestly, maybe we're not
- 22:22healed or evolved at all, but I'm a big fan of just like I'm
- 22:26good to go. Yeah, we talked about ghosting.
- 22:29You said you're a fan of ghosting.
- 22:31Where? Where we at with ghosting?
- 22:32I'm like 2 okay. I used to be a fan of ghosting
- 22:35because I used to be really non confrontational.
- 22:38I was really scared to confront things that would bother me.
- 22:42So I would let like resentment build up and then I would just
- 22:44be like bye. And then I realized once like my
- 22:47frontal lobe finished developing, I was like, that's a
- 22:50really bad personality trait. Like that's a very villainous
- 22:52personality trait because I never tell the other person that
- 22:55I'm getting more and more like resentful towards them.
- 22:58And then I just drop them. Like that's not nice.
- 23:00So now. I'm trying to.
- 23:03I'm literally in my healing era. You are you're like, you're
- 23:06really healing me because I feel like my frontal lobe has been
- 23:09developed. But I'm a huge fan of just like
- 23:12dipping like I just. I mean, it depends on the
- 23:15situation, right? Like if you're like a random and
- 23:17we went on a date and you're like blowing me up, like bye,
- 23:20I'll literally fuck you. But if you're like, you know,
- 23:23someone that didn't necessarily do something wrong, but you're
- 23:26just like, it's not the right fit and you're like a nice
- 23:29person. I'll be like, hey, so.
- 23:34Me again. Me again.
- 23:34Knock. Knock.
- 23:36Sorry Tiva, your hours are up. But yeah, I I think I used to
- 23:41ghost like way more frequently. Yeah.
- 23:44I also just like not dating like I actually am done.
- 23:48Wait, what happened? I'm just done are.
- 23:50We going to hear about it on this next project.
- 23:51Yeah, OK. Like I just think everyone is so
- 23:55scary and I'm so freaked out. Totally.
- 23:58And I just don't want any of. It.
- 23:59Oh, my gosh. Wait, have you been dating in LA
- 24:02because you live in LA? Yeah.
- 24:03How's that for you? I think it's nightmarish to say
- 24:08the least. I mean I don't know, maybe it's
- 24:10just the circles I'm in, but I feel like.
- 24:14Wait, do you date like musicians?
- 24:15Yeah, so. How's that tell me everything?
- 24:18It's horrific, like as you could imagine.
- 24:20As I can imagine. It's really not great.
- 24:22I mean, I know how insane I am as a musician.
- 24:25And then you take like a, a man who is a musician and like has
- 24:31has like a blown up head and, you know, thinks that he's like
- 24:34God's gift to the earth and it's just never a good time.
- 24:37Here's what I've learned. I'm really attracted to musical
- 24:40talent. So I always go for guys who are
- 24:42musical because that's such a big part of my life.
- 24:45I'm like, I almost feel like I could never connect with you on
- 24:47like the deepest level if you're not musical at all.
- 24:50But then I'm like, wait, but you want to be like a Princess and
- 24:54the main character and like, I need to be that too.
- 24:57So. I have this conversation with so
- 24:59many people and they say exactly that, where they're like,
- 25:01especially if you're an artist, it's like, well, I'm the star.
- 25:03And it feels like it's like now you're competing, now it's
- 25:05clashing egos and stuff like that.
- 25:07And then? Men.
- 25:08Well, like not all men. Sorry, I'm not making a sweeping
- 25:10generalization. I am all men go.
- 25:12Like all men that I've ever experienced that do music like
- 25:16they hate, if you ever do better than them, they start to hate
- 25:19you. They become your biggest.
- 25:21OP 100% they resent you. They resent you.
- 25:24And they make like little slight comments like.
- 25:26Yes, it's insane. I'm like wait so.
- 25:28Isn't that crazy? And it's like, why is that?
- 25:30I don't know, I'm like, do I need to date like a finance bro?
- 25:33Like someone that will. Pay my taxes.
- 25:35Yes, but I can't. Yeah.
- 25:37So I'm just out of the game right now.
- 25:39Okay, okay, fair, fair, fair, fair, fair.
- 25:41You've had your experiences and we're going to hear all about
- 25:44it. Yeah, okay, before we jump into
- 25:46the next era, your new music, and I'm so excited to talk about
- 25:49it, we need to talk about Pretty Evil.
- 25:51So tell us about Pretty Evil, the album.
- 25:54It is my second album. I'm really proud of it.
- 25:58It's definitely like my proudest.
- 26:00I think most work I've ever made.
- 26:02Thank you so much. That's really sweet.
- 26:04I it's really special to me because I didn't get to tour my
- 26:07first album at all because it was like height of COVID.
- 26:10So I think even getting to like play this album live and like
- 26:14tour it has been has added like a whole new layer that I've
- 26:17never gotten to experience before.
- 26:19So that's made it even more special.
- 26:21But honestly, pretty Evil is like a memoir to the most like
- 26:27real adult relationship I've ever had.
- 26:30I was with a man for 3 1/2 years.
- 26:32Like we lived together, had animals together, the whole bit.
- 26:35And it was definitely I met him when I was 21.
- 26:38Now I'm I just turned 27. So like, it was definitely a big
- 26:41chunk of my early 20s that like shaped me.
- 26:43Oh yeah, your formative years for sure.
- 26:45And he was a bit old. I mean, not like in a bad way.
- 26:48He was just five years older than me.
- 26:49So he was in like a different place than I was.
- 26:51And he had already, he had like serious girlfriends before me
- 26:54that he lived with and all this stuff.
- 26:56So the whole experience was just crazy.
- 26:59And I feel like the album is really just the like,
- 27:02memorialization of that insanely fucked up shit.
- 27:06That could be such a beautiful thing though, you know, to like
- 27:08giving it that life and putting it in a poetic way and spinning
- 27:11it to make it music, you know. And I kind of like that, I think
- 27:16with any relationship in general, Like, I hate saying
- 27:19this because I always come back to this quote where it's like,
- 27:21you know, Lord's songwriter in the dark.
- 27:22Have you heard that one? It's exactly that.
- 27:24Like, if you're going to be like with someone who's like,
- 27:26creative, they're probably going to immortalize you, you know,
- 27:29for better or worse. Yeah.
- 27:31So like act accordingly. You don't want a bad song
- 27:35written about you. Don't give me a reason to diss.
- 27:38Track, yeah. Don't become, don't become a
- 27:41Kelly Rolling op for at least. OK.
- 27:44Well, we're going to we're going to make sure that moving
- 27:46forward, you know, it's it's going to be better.
- 27:49Yeah. I can't.
- 27:50I can't promise anything for no man, actually.
- 27:53I know there's no hope, but it's OK.
- 27:55All of the crazy evil men give me all my songwriting fuel and I
- 28:00absorb their powers and get to higher levels of songwriting.
- 28:04I'm so happy you said that. I want to ask you, do you feel
- 28:07like, do you ever feel like you're the villain?
- 28:10Yes, definitely. OK, same.
- 28:11I've definitely been the. Villain.
- 28:12I want to be the villain. Oh, you want to be the?
- 28:14Villain. Oh, absolutely.
- 28:16There are times where I yeah, absolutely.
- 28:18Yeah, I want to be the villain. I just feel like, oh, this is so
- 28:21immature of me, and I will acknowledge this is just like,
- 28:23I'd rather hurt than get hurt, so you know what I mean?
- 28:26No. I think that's super valid.
- 28:28I think that's like a defense mechanism if anything.
- 28:31That's not even like evil inherently.
- 28:32That's totally I'm the victim actually, now that you're saying
- 28:35it. You are the victim.
- 28:36You're just trying to protect yourself and everyone jealous of
- 28:39you. Thank you you spilled Oh my God
- 28:41clock it okay we're clipping that thank you I love that okay
- 28:46well do you feel like okay, I want to be the villain.
- 28:49Do you feel like you want to be the villain or you just like it
- 28:52just happens sometimes? It just happens sometimes.
- 28:54I think like I've always been really honest in my music about
- 28:59me not always being the victim because none of us ever are
- 29:01like. You know, Oh my God, yes.
- 29:02We all have our toxic. I love self-awareness.
- 29:05Yeah, yes, I'm definitely overly self.
- 29:08Aware. No, that's good.
- 29:09That's what makes good. Lyrics I have a fear that I'm
- 29:11like actually really not self aware and that's just my
- 29:14perception of myself, but I'm like perceived not that way.
- 29:17So then that makes me think OK well I definitely I'm self aware
- 29:20because no not self aware person would have that fear.
- 29:23That's my logic. Like that was such a journey.
- 29:25I actually I understood all of that.
- 29:27I understood. Gymnastic, yes.
- 29:29You got me. I was there with you.
- 29:30That's. Virgo logic A. 100% that's how I
- 29:32feel too because I think I'm super self aware but I'm like
- 29:35maybe I'm also just not but I feel like I.
- 29:37But you wouldn't think like like a crazy person wouldn't.
- 29:42I hate when motherfuckers make me feel crazy.
- 29:44I think that's my number one thing.
- 29:45I hate when people make me feel crazy or they like ask like me,
- 29:47because then I also get I always overthink it right.
- 29:49I'm like, maybe I didn't say or do that, but I have like a
- 29:51perfect memory. So I'm just like I do.
- 29:54Do you feel like a good memory? I would.
- 29:56I have a really really really crazy good memory.
- 29:59Whoa, that's a really good skill to have because I have a
- 30:01horrific memory and like. I thought it was a Virgo thing.
- 30:05OK, so with Pretty Evil, this was also your first headlining
- 30:08tour too. How exciting.
- 30:09Tell us about that. You just got off of it.
- 30:11Yeah, a couple weeks ago it was literally like the best
- 30:14experience of my life. I felt like I was on drugs every
- 30:18single night because the amount of just like happiness and love
- 30:22and adrenaline that was in my heart was crazy.
- 30:24I I've opened for people, which has been so fun and like
- 30:28literally is what I think got me prepared to even do a headliner.
- 30:32I don't, I don't think it would have been the same headliner if
- 30:34I hadn't done the opening slots I'd done beforehand.
- 30:37So I'm so grateful for that. But going as a headliner, it's
- 30:40just like a different thing entirely.
- 30:43It's not the same. It's like getting to actually
- 30:45look out into the crowd and see your fans there and they're like
- 30:49singing your words is a really indescribable.
- 30:51Game for you? They bought tickets for you.
- 30:53Yeah, like made clothes and did their nails with pretty evil.
- 30:56Like Oh my God, so many people brought me La Boo boos.
- 30:59Like I was like, yes. Oh my God, I was cute.
- 31:02But yeah, just so cute. And then my favorite thing ever
- 31:04about the tour was so many people became friends.
- 31:07Like people that didn't know each other or were like online
- 31:10friends met at the shows and like became besties.
- 31:12You're like creating connections for people.
- 31:14It feels like it's a safe space for, like, very misunderstood,
- 31:19like, teens and 20s. Like actually I feel like there
- 31:21was a mix of like 13 to maybe like, you know, late 20s.
- 31:25And it just felt like a, a really awesome space for like,
- 31:28everyone to be really nice to each other and just, like, enjoy
- 31:30music. Yeah.
- 31:31So I'm really grateful for that. But yeah, it was so fucking fun.
- 31:34I had the time of my life. And you know, you mentioned
- 31:36before that you feel like your fans have like, grown up with
- 31:38you too, Like they've matured with you.
- 31:40They've been with you on their own journey and your journey as
- 31:42an artist Well tour was great and you're about to do it all
- 31:46over again. Yes, I'm so excited.
- 31:49I'm going back out again in January to February.
- 31:52I I missed a lot of cities on the first run.
- 31:55I didn't hit the South. I didn't hit like some pretty
- 31:58pivotal places. So I'm really excited to go and
- 32:01get to put on a show for all those people.
- 32:02Too. Oh my gosh, that's so that's
- 32:04honestly really fun. Especially like, do you think
- 32:06where you are in your career, like you just want to be touring
- 32:08and continuing to tour? Definitely.
- 32:11You know, before you mentioned this in a different interview I
- 32:14was watching where you talked about when you made music, you
- 32:16never even thought about the live aspect of it.
- 32:18So with this new project, project that you have coming
- 32:20out, like are you thinking about how it's going to be performed
- 32:22live? Are you thinking about like
- 32:24what's going to be different when you're doing the tour with
- 32:26it? Because this upcoming leg,
- 32:27you're going to be doing a mix of this new album and pretty
- 32:30evil. Yes, yeah, I definitely, I'm
- 32:33thinking about the live aspects so much now.
- 32:36That has been such an eye opening thing too.
- 32:38And I really think that, like, I was just so new to touring and
- 32:43started it so late in my career just because of COVID.
- 32:46And like when I started dropping music and all of that, and by
- 32:49the time COVID had ended, I had like a whole new team and it was
- 32:52just a mess. I got dropped from my old
- 32:54booking agent. They didn't even tell me.
- 32:56Like I just went on the website and found out I was dropped.
- 32:58Shut the hell. It was crazy.
- 32:59Did you reach out to them and say anything?
- 33:01No. Oh, really?
- 33:02Like a little passive thing or you're just like, oh, OK.
- 33:05I was just like, oh OK. Like there was nothing to say.
- 33:07They literally dropped me. I mean, I knew they were going
- 33:10to anyway. They didn't care about We're not
- 33:12like we. Just talked about this walking
- 33:14around before we walked into this.
- 33:16Yeah, yes. Oh my God.
- 33:18We'll get into it off camera. But yeah, I I got finally into
- 33:22touring and it made me just see music in a really different way.
- 33:26Like I was like, oh, I actually have multiple songs where in the
- 33:29studio I can record them because obviously recording in the
- 33:32studio is so different. But then live it like wasn't
- 33:34translating or figuring out how to make things translate better
- 33:38live and change them around for live was like a fun challenge.
- 33:41But now I definitely am making songs with like the aspect of
- 33:45how is this going to sound live already in my head.
- 33:48So with Pretty Evil and this new project, you've mentioned this
- 33:51before, but you said that you felt like Pretty Evil was a good
- 33:53mix of your old sound, your original sound and heading in
- 33:57the direction that you want to start going in.
- 33:59So with this new project of coming out, do you want to can
- 34:01we talk about that project? Let's talk about it.
- 34:03Let's get into it. So this new project, you're
- 34:06going in a different direction. Before you were saying you're
- 34:08writing from a place of feeling like darker, definitely, but now
- 34:13you're living life a little differently, you're a little
- 34:15more open minded. What's this new Sonic direction
- 34:17we're going in? The Sonic direction is a lot
- 34:20more I would say it's a lot less dark pop.
- 34:24It's still dark. It still has like the
- 34:25melancholic vibes. It's still is like me at its
- 34:29core, but it's definitely less Halloween, less dark pop and a
- 34:33bit more synth pop and. Wait, yeah, I'm super excited.
- 34:37I less than pop you guys. Yeah.
- 34:38OK, I'm so happy. Yeah.
- 34:39Some of my biggest influences were like Daft Punk, like Kid, a
- 34:43album by Radiohead and then like Troy Savant's album with Rush on
- 34:49it. I I cannot.
- 34:50Something to give each other. Thank you.
- 34:51Yes, Like so very like different references, but I never like try
- 34:56to go too, too hard on anyone reference.
- 34:58I like to kind of just think of a world of music that I'm like
- 35:01this music could live in this other world of music.
- 35:03But yeah, it's definitely a little more synth pop.
- 35:06And what's the biggest change on it I think is not even
- 35:09sonically, but more lyrically. I think I'm really more known
- 35:13for writing about toxic relationships and like you were
- 35:16kind of saying, revenge. Pop and like.
- 35:18Scorned girl pop, sad girl pop, which it is still all of that,
- 35:23still that it's exactly the same, but it's definitely has
- 35:28like different undertones. This album is a lot more geared
- 35:30towards my feelings on my 20s, sort of a reflection piece I
- 35:36guess. And it's a lot about the
- 35:37industry, about the pornification of women in the
- 35:40industry, about the sexualization and like, and, you
- 35:44know, all of these sort of experiences I've had coming into
- 35:47this industry as like a teenager and a minor and growing up in it
- 35:51and. Cuz you've been in there for
- 35:51like 10 years now. Oh yeah, and I've seen some
- 35:54shit. So I'm sure I felt like it was
- 35:56just the right moment and the right time to make a project.
- 35:59Kind of like trying to reflect on those experiences without it
- 36:02being too in your face and obvious.
- 36:04So the whole point of it is to be like sexy and about sex, but
- 36:08also at the same time a little bit uncomfortable and taboo
- 36:13because that's really how it can feel being a woman in music
- 36:16sometimes. Like you're supposed to be sexy
- 36:18and like hot and everyone's supposed to love you.
- 36:20But also like on the on the other side of it, it's like, oh,
- 36:25my personal trainer probably shouldn't have touched me like
- 36:27that. And then you go tell the label
- 36:29and they're like, oh, we don't really give a fuck.
- 36:30Like you need to keep. Working.
- 36:31Yeah, there's no HR there. Yeah, there's no HR and
- 36:33everything is geared away from artists rather than to protect
- 36:37them, so. I think it's it's an insidious
- 36:40industry, I think entertainment in general.
- 36:42And then I think with everything you're describing, it just
- 36:44sounds like tapping into exploitation in general.
- 36:47Just as an artist, as a woman in industry in LA, that's crazy.
- 36:51So it feels like I'm so curious about like the direction that
- 36:55it's heading in. So would you say Die, the song
- 36:58that you released with Ella Bo is a good like indicator of what
- 37:01we can expect with it? No, actually I think it's a
- 37:04total Sonic departure from Die Die I love because it's like
- 37:08very special to my heart, because it feels very me and
- 37:11Ella to our core. Ella and I have been working
- 37:13together for years. This is our first like official
- 37:15collab, but Ella produced a a lot of my songs.
- 37:19Leech Doll face, Oh my God, I can't think Valentine.
- 37:24So we've been working together since like 2022.
- 37:26So we both wanted to do something that felt really true
- 37:29to like our roots, which I think is that core like dark pop
- 37:33anthem, which is exactly what die feels like to me.
- 37:36The new project will be a lot more like, I don't know, to me
- 37:41the new project feels like it's snowing and you're like kind of
- 37:44outside staring up at snow falling down at you at night.
- 37:47Oh, interesting. Kind of like a a cold winter
- 37:50night. Not as much as like.
- 37:51More reflective too, because I feel like Die in the visual for
- 37:54Die was very horror themed, you know?
- 37:56Do you feel like that was a bridge from leaving the pretty
- 37:58evil era going into this next? One, definitely.
- 38:01Yeah, it was, it was perfect timing.
- 38:03We both were like trying to release it at the same time.
- 38:06And I knew I wanted like one thing to kind of bridge the gap
- 38:09between the two. Projects Girl is a Halloween
- 38:11Bob. Exactly like it's Halloween
- 38:13season had to put out. I didn't do a whole Halloween EP
- 38:16this year, but Halloween song. Well, we have something better
- 38:18coming anyways, yes. So wait, can you talk about this
- 38:22project? You mentioned in a previous
- 38:23interview I was watching that you said it was 90% done.
- 38:26You said the title track was done, so where?
- 38:29Where are we getting this album? What can we expect with it?
- 38:31So the the project is called Sex Tapes and the title track is
- 38:35done. I actually just yesterday
- 38:38finished making the closing track, so I'm so excited about
- 38:41that. I was in the studio for like 10
- 38:42hours yesterday writing it and finishing it.
- 38:45And yeah, it's basically gonna be this like, sexy, melancholy,
- 38:50sort of sad anthemic project that has these like face value
- 38:56topics like sex tapes. The the tagline is like,
- 39:00couldn't stay in love forever. That's OK.
- 39:02I only need your touch. And when I want to fuck, then I
- 39:05just watch our sex tapes. So it's like at face value, it's
- 39:07like, oh, OK, You're like reminiscing on the past
- 39:11relationship. But really what it means to me
- 39:13is more of like, I don't miss all of the crazy things I've
- 39:16been through. But it's sort of like that
- 39:18addiction to the dopamine of like, oh, something is doing
- 39:21well or like people are telling good job.
- 39:23And it's almost like you get addicted to this validation and
- 39:27it's kind of just like a commentary on all of that.
- 39:30I. Feel like you're such a visual
- 39:31artist, and obviously all of your previous work that you've
- 39:34done leaned super dark, right? What's the visual difference
- 39:37that you want to go into this direction?
- 39:38Because in that other interview I was watching, you're saying
- 39:40you're figuring out the visual identity for this next project.
- 39:42Yeah. What do you think is going to be
- 39:44different? I think it's going to be, it's
- 39:47gonna be definitely a visual departure too.
- 39:50I have like sort of built the aesthetic world for it.
- 39:54I don't want to reveal like too, too much, but it's definitely
- 39:56gonna get different than everything that was on Pretty
- 39:59Evil. That was my main goal is to like
- 40:01have it be in a completely different universe than Pretty
- 40:03Evil. Like the two projects do not
- 40:06coexist in my mind. They're like their own
- 40:08identities. So I'm just gonna, I'm just
- 40:10gonna switch it off a little bit.
- 40:12I'm so excited for that because I feel like you are so good at
- 40:15world building and taking us into like, like I said, I think
- 40:18I mentioned earlier, I was like, I feel like we're peeping into
- 40:20your mind, you know, And I like that because I'm so nosy.
- 40:23And I was actually, I was talking about because my
- 40:25roommate Jamiko's and he's an artist and I was telling him I
- 40:27was like what I love about lyrics and what I love about
- 40:29artists is like when they take us there and they get really,
- 40:32really intimate with it because I want to know everything.
- 40:34Like I don't want anything spared.
- 40:35And I love how you write and I love how you present it because
- 40:38it feels like I'm in your journal, you know?
- 40:40And I'm like being a little nosy and like picking it apart.
- 40:42Thank you. I live for the nosy, the nosy
- 40:44people, because. That's me.
- 40:46Too like I'm the this bitch alive.
- 40:48Oh hell yeah. Like let me tell me everything.
- 40:50Like we just met. Like literally tell me like why
- 40:53did your uncle go to jail? Let's.
- 40:54Stop it. Really.
- 40:55Let's get into it. I I think that is like my goal
- 40:58too, is to make songs that are very real to me.
- 41:02I have, I just don't have shame. Like, I just don't care if I
- 41:04embarrass myself in a song or like, talk about being, you
- 41:07know, I love that obsessed with another girl or whatever it is.
- 41:10Yeah. Like you just have to have no
- 41:11shame when you're an. Artist, Oh my God, I have so
- 41:14many things I read about, like being obsessed with another
- 41:16girl. Like, I don't know, it's just
- 41:17like a running thing for me. It's a running thing for me.
- 41:19It's becoming a running thing for me too, because I have a
- 41:22song called Valentine on Pretty Evil.
- 41:24And then now in this new project, there's also one.
- 41:27So I'm like, wait, what's? Like, wait, we gotta unpack
- 41:30this. We.
- 41:30Should talk about that. Like do we need therapy?
- 41:32Are you in therapy? I'm in therapy.
- 41:34I love that. Yeah, Yeah.
- 41:36I mean, yes, I feel like it's not really doing anything.
- 41:39I feel like he's like just like a bestie that I just ran to.
- 41:43He validates the hell out of me, though, which I love.
- 41:45Love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
- 41:46I'm going to unpack the girl thing, though.
- 41:48I don't think I've ever mentioned that, yeah.
- 41:50Cuz I talk about it. Should we Should we do therapy
- 41:52right now? Let's do.
- 41:53Therapy right now let's talk about what's.
- 41:54Wrong with us. I'm just like a super jealous
- 41:57person, you know what I mean? You know, like, do you feel like
- 42:00you're a jealous? Person Oh yeah, super like
- 42:02really and I get jealous for I I get like sad jealous to where?
- 42:08But also I never get jealous until I I'm given a reason to be
- 42:11jealous. Like I won't start off in a
- 42:13relationship just automatically jealous and being crazy, but the
- 42:16second I see a reason to be I go off the fucking rails.
- 42:21Oh my God, I feel like I'm literally bat shit, like just in
- 42:23everything I do, I get super obsessive.
- 42:25I get like super like, like what's it called?
- 42:27I get like tunnel vision about things, you know?
- 42:29And then I also feel like if there's ever like this is a
- 42:32weird thing, I would love to unpack it actually on the show.
- 42:34So basically it's like I have this really weird competitive
- 42:36thing with girls. I don't know why.
- 42:39I don't know why, but I'm super competitive girls.
- 42:43Like I don't see men as competition.
- 42:44Men are not my competition. Like they're whatever, you know,
- 42:46I mean, they're just men, but girls specifically, I'm just
- 42:49like, how can I compete with that, you know, because they're
- 42:51so ethereal and goddessy and like beautiful and like
- 42:53everything, you know? So I feel like, I'm like, I feel
- 42:56like I look at women where I'm like enemy, but I'm like, but
- 42:59not an enemy, you know what I mean?
- 43:00Like. Is it like any woman or more
- 43:02like women that like have someone that you have feeling
- 43:06like what's like this, the context?
- 43:09I guess it's like women in positions that I feel like I
- 43:12should be in. That's like, so understandable,
- 43:15right? Yeah, yeah, I get that.
- 43:17I think jealousy is like such a normal human emotion.
- 43:20People like taboo it and make you sound like you're a bad guy
- 43:23for experiencing it. But like, we all experience it.
- 43:26Yeah, I've been, I mean, I have a stalking routine till this
- 43:29day. Like me and my ex broke up a
- 43:31year and a half ago. I still check up.
- 43:32I'm like, hey, I'll check up on the girlies.
- 43:34Be like, hey, you guys still talk to each other like I don't
- 43:37know. Oh my God, you're kidding for me
- 43:38if I'm dunzies, No, you don't exist me anymore.
- 43:41See like I will make like you not exist to me from your
- 43:44perception. Because I want to.
- 43:46Win, but yeah, like I'm actually still obsessed and insane
- 43:50forever. Until the end.
- 43:52Oh really? Oh shit.
- 43:53I mean, are they about to find out watching the show?
- 43:55Do you think they're going to watch?
- 43:57I don't know honestly my ex might watch this he.
- 43:59Really. Sometimes.
- 44:00Watches myself. Hi, miss you.
- 44:02Just kidding. I don't know.
- 44:04Just kidding. I did.
- 44:07Oh God. No, but like he if you're
- 44:10watching this, he cheated on me. And so that girl I got so
- 44:14obsessed with, like no way. I literally wanted to be her.
- 44:17I would look at her Instagram every single day, like watch
- 44:20her. And then I like godify those
- 44:23girls too. Like I look at her.
- 44:24I'm like, you're the prettiest girl I've ever seen.
- 44:26You're so much prettier than me. You're better than me in every
- 44:28way. Like step on me, mommy.
- 44:30And that just becomes like my view of them until you get out
- 44:34of the woods of the situation. Now I'm like, OK, you're just
- 44:36like a person like everyone else.
- 44:38That is so I feel like I'm oppo. I feel like when I make them an
- 44:41enemy to me, I'm like, I'm better than you, I'm dated up,
- 44:43blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And like, that's the way.
- 44:45I don't know, just. Like I'm just like a simp.
- 44:46Like I, I just get sad. I'm like Oh my God, like you
- 44:50wanted her instead of me. It must be because she's better
- 44:53than me. I like, hate that so much.
- 44:55I love it because I feel like, yeah, I get that, but it's also
- 44:57like, that's so devastating. It's a hard place to be when
- 45:01you're in it, but then like you get out of it and you're like,
- 45:03girl, stand the fuck up like. What were you doing?
- 45:06No, Oh my God, when you're in it, it's like nothing bad so.
- 45:08Rough, like so rough you look back at like times I will think
- 45:13back and like thank God I can't remember anything ever because
- 45:16honestly if I could remember half the shit I've said and done
- 45:18over a man I would probably never sleep.
- 45:21Oh my God, I'm the most embarrassing when it comes to
- 45:23men. It's so fucking embarrassing,
- 45:24like. The embarrassing thing is the
- 45:27men that is the man because it's like why am I acting so crazy
- 45:31over this guy? Like who is this?
- 45:33This is just some guy that. Appeared in my house, yes.
- 45:36Who is this man? Like I fully cried.
- 45:39Like cried like cried isn't even the right word.
- 45:41Sobbed on my fucking hands and knees like snot coming out of my
- 45:45nose, my whole body sweating over a man that had his own
- 45:49first name tattooed in comic sans font on his stomach like
- 45:54this and and then also had butt sex tatted on his arm.
- 46:00I was I was retching. I threw up from crying so hard
- 46:04like I actually thought I was going to die.
- 46:07Like I have alopecia. This is not a joke.
- 46:09I have alopecia. He stressed me out so bad that
- 46:12my hair fell out and now I have like little short hairs that are
- 46:15growing back. It's really cute from a man that
- 46:17has his own first name tattooed on his stomach.
- 46:20Huge huge. It's like a big ass stomach tat.
- 46:24Oh God, it don't end. Yeah.
- 46:27So, well, there's a lot to impact there.
- 46:31So why? Why did that happen?
- 46:33Well, he was crazy. He I have like.
- 46:36What what did you like about him?
- 46:37That is such a good question. I yeah, it was the tattoo.
- 46:41I got it. It was the butt sex tattoo and
- 46:43his first name. No, I just, it was COVID.
- 46:47We were indoors he was like basically homeless like he just
- 46:51like moved in with me as soon as we started dating rent free.
- 46:55I have so much commentary but keep going.
- 46:57Please, please it's. Really bad, like Oh my God.
- 46:59Anyway, he was a SoundCloud rapper.
- 47:01So that pretty much sums up all you need to know.
- 47:03Like I have a history of dating. Unfortunately, like SoundCloud
- 47:06rappers, which aren't even like a thing anymore.
- 47:08But at the time, yeah. It was rough.
- 47:11Oh my God, you're right. You literally started the show
- 47:13by being like, Oh, my lure is so dark and it goes deep and I'm
- 47:17like, wait, we should have started with this.
- 47:19No, like my lure is extensive. Well, he fumble so bad because
- 47:23you're so stunning. Oh my God, thank you so much.
- 47:25It's actually interesting because when I was researching
- 47:27you, this is just a tangent. Literally every time I was
- 47:29watching anything of you, I was just like staring at you.
- 47:31And I was like, yes, literally. Oh my God, you're so beautiful.
- 47:35No, you're dead ass. So beautiful.
- 47:37That's so. Sweet, you know what I feel
- 47:40like? I feel like the men who are like
- 47:41the most not in in a women's league fumble the hardest.
- 47:45Like a man that's like in your league will like know that the
- 47:49vibe is there. A man that is like in disbelief
- 47:52that he bagged you will like fuck it up and self sabotage the
- 47:56bag. I always feel like I don't know
- 47:57what this guy looks like, but like if I'm going to have a
- 47:59little visualizer, I always feel like it's like it's always a
- 48:01pretty girl and like just a guy. A guy that looks like he's from
- 48:05prehistoric times. Yeah, just a guy.
- 48:08Just a guy. Just a man.
- 48:09I also just feel like there's a really, there's like an an
- 48:12imbalance of like hot girls to hot like hot guys ratio.
- 48:16Oh yeah, no, for sure, definitely.
- 48:18But do you feel like that way in LA?
- 48:20Because I feel like in LA everyone's so gorgeous.
- 48:22Like, men are so gorgeous here. Yeah, men are gorgeous here.
- 48:24Right, but in a very feminine pretty way though.
- 48:26That's true, but I love like a feminine.
- 48:28Man, I was literally going to say I love feminine pretty men.
- 48:31Like I like pretty boys. Like if you look pretty, if you
- 48:34look, I always say this, I'm like, if you kind of can pass
- 48:36for like a lesbian. Like if you get gay allegations
- 48:40like you're my man, like yes, first of all, there's two
- 48:43requirements, gay allegations and mog me.
- 48:45OK, please never meet my men. Don't ever get my men.
- 48:50Stay away from them. Steer.
- 48:51Clear. Nina, lock the set doors.
- 48:55OK, Well, felt felt all of that on a spiritual level.
- 48:58Yeah. Wait.
- 48:58I also just want to do one more side tangent.
- 49:00I'm having such a great time with you.
- 49:02Me too. We're really cleaning out, We
- 49:04are. We no, you're lighting me.
- 49:08Up spilling like tea too. Like I never talk about my stuff
- 49:11this candidly. Oh my.
- 49:12God, I fucking love it. No, because, no, because you're
- 49:14saying shit and I'm like, my eyes are lighting.
- 49:16I'm like, yes, I'm like, Oh my God, yes, tell me.
- 49:17I'm like, yes, I get it. Oh my God.
- 49:19Well, he fumbled. Fuck him.
- 49:22Big fumble. I wanted to jump back into what
- 49:24you said earlier about how, you know, we talked about the
- 49:27ghosting thing. You said you're not really
- 49:28confrontational. Would you say you're more
- 49:29confrontational now versus where you were before?
- 49:32I think like confrontation still doesn't come supernaturally to
- 49:36me. It makes me uncomfortable.
- 49:37But I think just like owning my business of, of being an artist
- 49:42for all these years and working with so many people, especially
- 49:45when you're the artist, because people like to not take artists
- 49:48seriously, think we're like crazy or not smarter, I don't
- 49:51know. What it is, don't.
- 49:53Include us in the the e-mail threads with like our managers
- 49:56and stuff, which so I think just having to sort of like fight for
- 50:00my like, hey, like, no, I am this is my.
- 50:03Face. And like we're the product is
- 50:06me. So like obviously I need to be
- 50:08aware of what's going on and know everything.
- 50:10So I think just over years of that, I've definitely gotten
- 50:13more comfortable with confrontation.
- 50:14Like I know it just has to happen sometimes.
- 50:16Like there's nothing I hate more than having to tell a friend
- 50:21like Oh my God, like something is happening that's upsetting me
- 50:24or Oh my God having to fire someone is like my I.
- 50:27I actually have cried every time I've ever fired.
- 50:30Oh my God, we're so opposite. I'd be like, bye, girl.
- 50:34No, yeah, I'm good on it. Like, honestly, I'm not a
- 50:36stranger to firing people. Literally when I was hiring
- 50:39Nina, she's my Pai told her in the interview.
- 50:41I was like, by the way, at any given point I can and we'll fire
- 50:44you. Like, I'm not about firing
- 50:46people. And I also I don't feel any type
- 50:48of way about it. Well, it has to be done if it
- 50:50has to be done. And like if work isn't getting
- 50:52done there, I'm mad. Cut throat too.
- 50:53Yeah, yeah, that's how I hold everyone I work with to like the
- 50:57same standard I hold myself to. Yeah, same.
- 50:59And I treat everyone I work with really amazingly.
- 51:01And it appears you do too. So it's like, if you're not
- 51:03holding up your end, of course, yeah, no, you're a great host
- 51:06like everyone here is so. Kind that is so sweet team.
- 51:09How? How good am I?
- 51:11Got him up you're. So kind, right?
- 51:15What do you got? Bro laughed.
- 51:20Bro, Snort laughed. OK, we'll remember that.
- 51:23Yeah. Keep laughing, Brett.
- 51:26Keep laughing. Yeah.
- 51:26Sit over there. Yeah.
- 51:28Quietly. All right.
- 51:30What was that? Great.
- 51:32Louder. Ryan is great.
- 51:34Brett said. Ryan is great.
- 51:37And amazing and wonderful and perfect.
- 51:39I heard all of that. I saved Brett's life.
- 51:41I heard it. I heard it.
- 51:42I heard it. Let me borrow the Lamborghini.
- 51:48There we go because I was like, I'm sorry, this the show does
- 51:54not make that much yet. But if you want to help get Bret
- 51:57a Lamborghini, please rate the show 5 stars right now.
- 52:00Thank you. OK, well, I love getting into
- 52:03the confrontation. And honestly, Loki, I feel like
- 52:05you're about to confront me. So we just got sent this in from
- 52:11the Delulu PR team this morning. It's an allegation.
- 52:15And I saw both of her names in it.
- 52:17Do you mind just reading it and we could just see how we feel
- 52:19about it? OK, I'm kind of nervy about it.
- 52:22I like skimmed it, but I was like, we'll just squash it right
- 52:24now. OK, So this is from the Delulu
- 52:27Daily, which is the TMZ in the DCU, which is the Delulu
- 52:30Cinematic Universe. What do we got at least?
- 52:38Scan Delulu Delulu drama is heating up, and this time it's
- 52:42not just on the podcast. Ryan Liu, host of Delulu, has
- 52:46been teasing the show's upcoming season of Delulu After Dark,
- 52:49calling it pretty evil in recent interviews.
- 52:52A phrase that just so happens to be the exact title of dark pop
- 52:56star Elise's 2025 album. I did not.
- 52:59I didn't know that actually. Fans are already buzzing,
- 53:02accusing Ryan of reheating Elise's signature Moody nachos
- 53:06to fuel a rebound brand for the show.
- 53:08Insiders close to close to Elise exclusively tell Delulu Daily
- 53:12she's far from thrilled about the overlap, with one source
- 53:16saying it feels like Ryan is stepping on Elise artistry and
- 53:19she doesn't appreciate it one bit.
- 53:21Could this be the start of Hollywood's next great feud, or
- 53:23just a coincidence? Stay tuned, because if Elise
- 53:27claps back, it's about to get really evil.
- 53:29Oh, we should. Let's get into this.
- 53:31I was, I was hit up about this and I'm not going to say the
- 53:35inside sources were wrong. I felt like you were not only
- 53:40reheating my nachos, but reheating them in the microwave
- 53:42rather than rather than the air fryer, OK, which felt like an
- 53:47added disc. And I just think, I just think
- 53:51we should squash it. We should squash.
- 53:52It can I explain myself, please? At the very least?
- 53:54Yes. OK.
- 53:54So with this season of Delulu, Delulu after dark, Delulu After
- 53:58dark, it's actually a concept podcast.
- 54:01And the reason why I was describing it as pretty evil is
- 54:05because the podcast starts pretty and it it ends evil.
- 54:09So that's just where I got that from.
- 54:12Kind of like my how my album starts with the song Pretty and
- 54:16ends with the song Evil. I've never seen or heard of this
- 54:20project and honestly I feel like you actually took it from my
- 54:24press that I was doing for delulu so I'm a little upset
- 54:28with you. If anything, I think you
- 54:29reheated my nachos in the microwave and not the air fryer.
- 54:32I feel like you're gaslighting me right now.
- 54:33I would never gaslight. I'm not a gaslighter, right
- 54:36Brett? I'm feeling gaslit.
- 54:41I'm feeling, you know what I'm feeling?
- 54:45I'm feeling pretty evil. OK, well, let's squash this.
- 54:49I mean, I don't know if this is a bad time to reveal the new
- 54:53cover art that we shot for the Lulu After Dark, but we this is
- 54:59the This is the new season's cover art and this was a really
- 55:07expensive production, so. You look, first of all, you look
- 55:11amazing. I know, body snatch.
- 55:12No body snatch. Body snatch.
- 55:14Like everything snatched. Thank you.
- 55:16It's just weird because I feel like it's feels so familiar.
- 55:19I feel like. Iconic or?
- 55:21Something, yeah, it's like, it's so weird.
- 55:24Like I just feel like, yeah, I just feel like it looks so
- 55:27similar. Well, my concept was I wanted to
- 55:29be do you? Feel like do you see the
- 55:32similarity? Oh, it feels like you just took
- 55:37my cover or and took off the test.
- 55:39You were definitely in the mood board.
- 55:41You were in the mood board. OK, I can accept that.
- 55:43That the photographer. Said I can accept that.
- 55:45Yeah. So when I was shooting this, I
- 55:46just wanted to be sensual, you know what I mean?
- 55:48Like I said, the season's like pretty evil, you know?
- 55:51No, it's. Some it's a concept podcast.
- 55:54Yeah, understand. We wanted a darker vibe.
- 55:56Luckily, like, my album already came out months ago.
- 55:59So like, you can. You can do the pretty evil thing
- 56:00though. OK, OK, yeah, no, I mean, I feel
- 56:03like if someone doing better, you know who's mad?
- 56:08Wait, not me actually getting nervous.
- 56:09I'm like, wait, are we beeping? OK, we're, we're squashing the
- 56:14beef. We're.
- 56:14Squashing the beef. I think the cover looks amazing.
- 56:18You could literally rename your podcast Pretty Evil Tomorrow and
- 56:21I would be like yes Queen, yes Diva and I would love it.
- 56:25I love you. I'm happy that we squash the
- 56:26beef. I feel like we have a great
- 56:27relationship that we're building together.
- 56:28We do so honestly. Next season, please come back
- 56:32to. I would love to.
- 56:33Next season is Delulu Tapes season 3 Delulua.
- 56:37So yeah, it's about exploitation in the industry in general.
- 56:43Delulu Tapes. Delulu Tapes.
- 56:45I see. Delulu 3U's after the delulu.
- 56:50It's all one word too. Yeah, you know they say.
- 56:53They say copying is the best form of flattery.
- 56:58Well, I just announced my thing on this show and I don't think
- 57:01there's any album released yet, so I appreciate the flattery of.
- 57:05Course, of course. Okay, we'll share it.
- 57:07We'll share the aesthetic fair. Yeah, no, we can just Co
- 57:10release. We'll do like a little.
- 57:13Like and the podcast Let's Do It, you need to hop on every
- 57:16song with a verse. Absolutely.
- 57:18And then I just need to Co host all your episodes.
- 57:20OK. And then?
- 57:21We can just share everything 5050. 050506040 but yes, let's
- 57:26go. OK, well, I love it.
- 57:29OK. Beef squashed Beef squashed
- 57:32besties Beef squashed besties besties.
- 57:35Oh, OK. We love that.
- 57:37Well, it's a Lulu daily. Everything's good now, OK?
- 57:43Oh, the lingering, the lingering.
- 57:45I feel a little tense, but can I tell you?
- 57:50Yeah. Oh my God I rushed to Photoshop
- 57:52that this morning. It's honestly.
- 57:54Incredible. I kind of ate that up for the 5
- 57:56minutes I had. You really did like.
- 57:58So my roommate went to the gym and while he was gone I was like
- 58:01let me just do this without him looking at me because I know I'm
- 58:03going to feel judged. Graphic design is your power.
- 58:07And it surely. And it shows.
- 58:09Clearly, clearly. OK, well, we have a segment here
- 58:13on the show where our besties have sent in.
- 58:15There are questions, dilemmas, concerns and they want to get
- 58:19our advice on it. Our delulu take this is WWAGD.
- 58:22What would a delulu girl do? I love that.
- 58:24So we're going to see what our advice is for their concerns.
- 58:28Are you ready? Let's.
- 58:29Do it. OK so first one is from
- 58:31anonymous bestie we have. My roommate is always cock
- 58:34blocking me whenever we go out. I love her but it's annoying as
- 58:37fuck. She probably either hates the
- 58:41person you're getting with or wants you.
- 58:44So you like the friend the roommate wants the friend, the
- 58:48roommate wants your. Roommate is cock blocking you
- 58:50over and over again. They probably either hate the
- 58:53person you're trying to get with or they want you.
- 58:55Is this like personal experience?
- 58:56Where's this coming from? It's like low key personal.
- 58:58Experience. I was thinking, I was like, I
- 59:00was so specific. Though I I got I hate the word
- 59:03cock block. Really.
- 59:04I know, it's so nasty. I got like cock blocked by.
- 59:07Pussy pussy, pussy pussy. Pussy, pussy a seed away.
- 59:12And yeah, I I think that's it's one of two things.
- 59:16I feel like I've been in the other position where I I don't
- 59:19think I would pussy pussy personally, but I do think I
- 59:24have to sit on this but. It's also like, are you in the
- 59:26wrong? Because are you just like
- 59:27bringing someone to your house every single night and your
- 59:29roommate's like girl? I actually thought that too when
- 59:32like we were looking at this. Like go to his house or her
- 59:34house, get out of here A. 100% feel.
- 59:37Like we need more contacts to get the.
- 59:38Full roommate brings a man over every night.
- 59:41Oh my God. But I do like him.
- 59:42Oh my God, the side eye. The side.
- 59:46No, but the same man. Okay.
- 59:49And I do a. Different man every.
- 59:50Single and I love this man okay Beautiful and I love this man
- 59:54okay, I don't have advice on this.
- 59:57Stop inviting her out I guess. Don't invite her out at the
- 1:00:01boundary. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:03Confront her, ask her, be like, hey, do you have a crush on me?
- 1:00:06Love that. Have you ever done that?
- 1:00:07Yeah. Really.
- 1:00:08You've asked one of you had a crush on them.
- 1:00:10I've told someone like I know you like me and I was right.
- 1:00:13I would never say something bold like that unless I was like so.
- 1:00:16Confident. What happens from there?
- 1:00:19A situation ship that ended. OHK.
- 1:00:21OK, OK, OK. Took me out of the game.
- 1:00:23I'm a huge fan of telling people I feel.
- 1:00:26Me too. I don't like to hide it.
- 1:00:27I don't like to like, I'll just tell you straight up.
- 1:00:30I always do that like if I and it's rare for me to feel type of
- 1:00:33way, but if I feel type of way I'll just.
- 1:00:35Exactly same. Like it's so hard for me to
- 1:00:37actually get feelings for someone and be like attracted to
- 1:00:39someone in that way. So if it happens, I'm like, hey,
- 1:00:41I'm in love with you. Let's get.
- 1:00:43Married let's talk about this really quick.
- 1:00:45We'll get back to this. But you know how like we were
- 1:00:47talking about like, you know, the dark pop of it, the revenge
- 1:00:49pop of it all and like, you know, etcetera.
- 1:00:51I feel like talking to you. You're like so much more like
- 1:00:54lover girl than like your music gave gave off to me.
- 1:00:57Yeah. Do you feel that way because
- 1:00:59like for sure, because like, OK, a lot of the music feels like
- 1:01:01very like obsessive like Oh my God, I want you.
- 1:01:03I'm going to like talking with you or kill you and you know
- 1:01:06what I mean. Which I totally get.
- 1:01:07But yeah, maybe you're coming from like a lover girl obsession
- 1:01:11point of view from that. It definitely is a mix of both.
- 1:01:13Like I think I'm an obsession girl through and through.
- 1:01:16I don't know how to do anything like a little bit.
- 1:01:19I'm either like, I'm in love with you, I'm obsessed with you.
- 1:01:21I make you my whole world into my detriment.
- 1:01:24Yeah. This isn't like a flex.
- 1:01:26It's like very bad. No, it's terrible.
- 1:01:28And then when things got like bad and things end, then I'm
- 1:01:31like, Oh my God, I fucking either hate you or hate the New
- 1:01:34Girl or hate myself or a mixer, all three.
- 1:01:37And I'm just like losing my shit and absolutely having no sanity
- 1:01:41left. So either way, I'm insane.
- 1:01:43There's like the I love you and I'm obsessed with you.
- 1:01:45I'm insane or the like. You did me dirty and now like I,
- 1:01:50you don't want to see me when I'm.
- 1:01:52Girl, no, you literally just like, I feel like you were
- 1:01:54speaking for my soul. That's great because I'm so
- 1:01:56intense. Like I'm very all or nothing.
- 1:01:59Like all or nothing. Yeah.
- 1:02:01And I get real crazy with it, you know?
- 1:02:03Yeah, I'm like jumping out a car.
- 1:02:05Like, you know, sometimes you gotta get crazy.
- 1:02:08OK, I'm not that crazy with it. You know, that's funny.
- 1:02:11I told my friend, tell me that I my friend was like a
- 1:02:14photographer and he's just like friends with a ton of like goth
- 1:02:17baddies. Like he knows all the little
- 1:02:18like goth baddie models. And I was like, yeah, telling
- 1:02:22him about this crazy situation with my ex where I was like, he,
- 1:02:25you know, I was like pissed and triggered and I just jumped out
- 1:02:27of his car. Like on Victory Blvd.
- 1:02:29He was going like 40 and I just jumped out.
- 1:02:32And he literally goes, why is it a why is it a pivotal moment for
- 1:02:36every girl to jump out of a man's moving car at some point?
- 1:02:39And I'm like, oh, I didn't know that.
- 1:02:40Oh, so it's a common thing? I guess it's like a thing.
- 1:02:44It was. It left me with small injuries.
- 1:02:47I wouldn't recommend. I kind of like that, though.
- 1:02:51Not the injuries. I like that you did that.
- 1:02:53It's so dramatic. I love being dramatic.
- 1:02:55Yeah. Oh my God, I'm the most dramatic
- 1:02:57bitch ever. They get like psych ward level.
- 1:03:00OK, wait, what are your how do you cope when you're like,
- 1:03:02getting obsessed like this? What do you do?
- 1:03:05Oh my God, I don't know. I don't think I cope.
- 1:03:07I think I, I think music. Like that's such a basic answer,
- 1:03:11but it's genuinely true. The only way I can really cope
- 1:03:13and like get it out like I'm raw dogging life.
- 1:03:16I'm on no medication, I have no therapist.
- 1:03:18I ghost every single therapist. Like you want to talk about
- 1:03:20ghosting? I've ghosted a therapist more
- 1:03:22times than I've ghosted anyone else.
- 1:03:24They're the person you shouldn't be ghosting.
- 1:03:25I. Know like the most important
- 1:03:27person I shouldn't be ghosting. So I think like to me, the
- 1:03:30biggest thing is I just do music.
- 1:03:33That's the only way I can't. I can go a little less crazy.
- 1:03:36No, honestly, and it makes sense to like being able to process it
- 1:03:39and write it down. Like I like how like like I
- 1:03:41mentioned this earlier, like diary ask when you're being
- 1:03:45vulnerable is the best one. I want to put it.
- 1:03:47I'm like, where where are the words for this?
- 1:03:49When you're like, really laying it out there, you know?
- 1:03:51And I like that because honestly, as a crazy bitch too,
- 1:03:55I see you. Yeah.
- 1:03:55And. I got it.
- 1:03:56We see each other. We absolutely do.
- 1:03:58That's the. Thing like my music is for the
- 1:04:01girls who get it, like some girls get it and some girls
- 1:04:03don't, period. And not that any of it's a flex.
- 1:04:06Like it's never a flex to be like, Oh my God, like, you know,
- 1:04:09we did all these fucked up things to each other and now
- 1:04:11having these horrible like whatever, like emotions and all
- 1:04:15this stuff. But it's my reality.
- 1:04:17So it's like, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it and I'm never gonna
- 1:04:20rap, Cap. Like nothing I say in my songs
- 1:04:22is a lie. That's the self-awareness, Yeah.
- 1:04:24OK, so always talk about this. I want to get your take on this
- 1:04:26too. So basically when I write and I
- 1:04:28do anything, I always make sure it's like the person that is the
- 1:04:32muse in the situation knows it's about them.
- 1:04:34Like I'd be very specific. I want to make sure it's like
- 1:04:38very much like there's no avoiding it, you know?
- 1:04:40Do you feel like when you're making your writing, you're
- 1:04:43making your music? Do you have that in mind that
- 1:04:45you're like, this person's probably going to hear this?
- 1:04:47This person is it. Definitely and I want them to
- 1:04:50love it. I literally will write down to
- 1:04:53your eye color and hair color so that you know it's about.
- 1:04:55You. I like quoting people.
- 1:04:57Oh, that's. Good.
- 1:04:58I like direct quotes because like, yeah, you said that to me.
- 1:05:00Yeah. Like, remember your words.
- 1:05:03Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:04I one of my first songs I ever put out was called pinky promise
- 1:05:08and it's about like a breakup happening and just knowing the
- 1:05:12relationships not right anymore. And I asked my ex at the time
- 1:05:15not the same X that like pretty evil is about.
- 1:05:17This was way before that, but I was like, Hey, can I use this
- 1:05:19voicemail from you in my song? It was him being like, hey,
- 1:05:22like, I know we haven't talked. Like I really miss you did it.
- 1:05:25And he literally was like, fuck no, you can't.
- 1:05:27So of course I used it anyway. Oh yeah.
- 1:05:29And put it out. And that was fun.
- 1:05:31Like a little. I mean, he sent that to you.
- 1:05:33Yeah, I'm like, that's public property.
- 1:05:35And why send it to an artist if you don't want it to be used?
- 1:05:37Exactly. I'm like you.
- 1:05:38Loki wanted that. He did, yeah.
- 1:05:40That's why he did it. You're welcome.
- 1:05:41That's why he did it. He scripted that actually to be
- 1:05:43put in that. OK, I have a question for you.
- 1:05:45So you're really career driven, right?
- 1:05:47Definitely. We just talked about this.
- 1:05:49We're both super into our careers.
- 1:05:50Would you ever give up your career for like a man?
- 1:05:52Never. Really.
- 1:05:53No, man. Really.
- 1:05:55Absolutely not. I think whoever I end up with is
- 1:05:59gonna have to be someone like me where it's gonna be like very
- 1:06:02even 5050 in all areas. I think any like romantic
- 1:06:06partnership is not about like 01 person does this.
- 1:06:08And one, it doesn't matter how you divide it up.
- 1:06:10What matters is that like that both people are doing an even
- 1:06:14amount, whether that means like, you know, there's someone that
- 1:06:17is cooking and cleaning and someone that's bringing home the
- 1:06:19bacon. Like that's a 5050 in my eyes
- 1:06:21too, but that's not going to be me because I'm already so career
- 1:06:25driven. I would definitely need someone
- 1:06:27who like is that way too and has their own life.
- 1:06:30That's another big thing for me is I find men that also make me
- 1:06:33the center of their universe. Like they have no friends
- 1:06:36outside of me, like, or they drop all their friends and like
- 1:06:38just get so invested and like, I love it.
- 1:06:41So I'm like, yeah, come live with me.
- 1:06:43Like, let's hang out all day. I was like, you were saying
- 1:06:45that. I was like, wait, I like all of
- 1:06:47that. I know exactly and it feels so
- 1:06:49fun, but then next thing you know it's like, oh it's been
- 1:06:51months and I'm like not working as hard as I should and you're
- 1:06:54not. That's the thing.
- 1:06:56Yeah, that's so true. So it would definitely have to
- 1:06:59be someone that like me, just like putting my Love Island
- 1:07:01audition. I'm like whoever wants to date
- 1:07:04me be 6 successful, but also be not like having what's the word
- 1:07:10weaponized incompetence. Oh my God, that's like a hot
- 1:07:14TikTok word, but it's such a real thing.
- 1:07:16Yes, absolutely. Have you ever experienced that
- 1:07:19with someone like them? Just like not knowing, not
- 1:07:22knowing how to do the most simple things, or doing things
- 1:07:24wrong on purpose so that you'll just do them.
- 1:07:27Fucking literally I had the worst experience last year.
- 1:07:29So I this is for sure getting cut because I know this
- 1:07:32motherfucker is so psychotic and he's going to watch it.
- 1:07:34But I had a guy I live with me last year and like we were like
- 1:07:37a thing or whatever and then like he was just so baby and
- 1:07:41useless. I had to do everything for him
- 1:07:44and like, it was like the worst. I, I, I know everyone in here
- 1:07:48thinks I'm talking about Jamaica.
- 1:07:49I'm not. I'm talking about a guy from
- 1:07:51last year. I'm talking about a guy last
- 1:07:52year that was like, involved with it for whatever.
- 1:07:54Yeah. It's like the weaponizing
- 1:07:55Covetin. It's so frustrating.
- 1:07:58That's just like my biggest. 'Cause I'm just like, Oh my God,
- 1:08:00be he, him, motherfucker. Like what is happening really?
- 1:08:02Like change a tire. Oh my God, get.
- 1:08:05Under a car, do something. Here's the thing.
- 1:08:07You can't be like incompetent at like cooking and cleaning and
- 1:08:11like traditionally womanly things to do, but then also be
- 1:08:14like, I don't know how to build this IKEA table.
- 1:08:16Well, you better fuck, I can figure it out.
- 1:08:18Pick up the damn screwdriver, bitch.
- 1:08:19Build the table or like make the dinner like I can't do it all
- 1:08:23literally. Absolutely help move the couch
- 1:08:26in. And I also have a dad that is
- 1:08:28literally like Bob the Builder, like genuinely will just be like
- 1:08:32FaceTime you and be like I just built this shed today by myself.
- 1:08:35So the expectations are already high.
- 1:08:36The expectation is high. Like I, I, I have a lot of
- 1:08:41skills. So like I need someone that also
- 1:08:43has, like I say, skills as in like just like knowing how to do
- 1:08:46random shit that you need to know how to do.
- 1:08:49All the side quests come in. This is the side.
- 1:08:51Quests. Like you got to know how.
- 1:08:54To build character. Does you got to know how to do
- 1:08:57shit? Like this is the Love Island
- 1:08:59pitch then. So you're side questing, you
- 1:09:01have all these little skills you acquired.
- 1:09:03We need person to match that energy.
- 1:09:07I need a freak ass bitch that knows how to build shit and can
- 1:09:12change my tires and is nice to me and not evil and doesn't
- 1:09:19follow 10,000 girls on Instagram that are hot as fuck.
- 1:09:22Damn, that was the affirmation. That is the affirmation I
- 1:09:24received that I claim that. Do I want all that?
- 1:09:27Let me think do. You know, like will it even be?
- 1:09:30Fucked. I'm like, that's where my mind
- 1:09:32was. I was like, wait, not evil.
- 1:09:36We started with a freak ass bitch.
- 1:09:38OK, like be a little crazy, but just like in a fun way.
- 1:09:42I like when a motherfucker is like insane about me.
- 1:09:44So here's what I notice. I attract.
- 1:09:46I notice that I attract like people who were like, like, so
- 1:09:51all in for me. And for some reason, I'm like,
- 1:09:54like, yeah. 'Cause there's no chase.
- 1:09:57Oh my God we're so toxic. I know it's so I don't like to
- 1:09:59do the. Problem people are going to
- 1:10:01watch us and be like we're the problem.
- 1:10:03You guys are the villain. We're the problem.
- 1:10:04Absolutely. Going to say it before you guys
- 1:10:06can say it. We are.
- 1:10:07Yeah, no, I acknowledge it. I said earlier I want to be the
- 1:10:09villain. So thank you.
- 1:10:11Yes, Don't cross us. Exactly.
- 1:10:15But yeah, I think like, I think people like when they're too
- 1:10:19nice and perfect, it's like there's no, there's no spice.
- 1:10:24I kind of get that, yeah, it's so bad.
- 1:10:26I can acknowledge that because I have the I will be like, I'll
- 1:10:28know the nicest boys or whatever and I'll just be like, oh,
- 1:10:32you're so nice. And I'm like, I know I'm going
- 1:10:33to break your heart. And then I get my heart broken
- 1:10:36by like some other motherfucker. And I'm like, that's my karma.
- 1:10:39And then? It like really docks your like
- 1:10:41your ego because you're like, I'm the, I'm the evil
- 1:10:44motherfucker, like you're dogging me.
- 1:10:46And then it's always someone that like goes for you first,
- 1:10:50like someone you weren't even looking at, and then they like
- 1:10:53creep their way into your life and then they just fuck you
- 1:10:56over. Those motherfuckers, I hate
- 1:10:58those motherfuckers. Like they're the ones who will
- 1:11:00like, they will pursue you and you will like not give a fuck.
- 1:11:03You're not interested in whatever.
- 1:11:04You're living your life and they're the one, and then they
- 1:11:08fuck you and then they fuck you up and then they fuck you up and
- 1:11:10then. Also like you're not even
- 1:11:12interested in them at first because you're like oh like no,
- 1:11:15they make you like them. Yes, they they shape shift into
- 1:11:20a reflection of you fucking chameleon motherfuckers
- 1:11:23reptilians, yes. And then next thing you know,
- 1:11:25you're like, wait, I have an emotional attachment to you.
- 1:11:27And the second you do, they're like.
- 1:11:29Now it's like now I'm crying every day, now I'm drinking, now
- 1:11:33I'm like doing everything that I should.
- 1:11:35I should just be focusing I'm. Listing 5 things I can see, 10
- 1:11:39things I can touch. And now I'm UN ghosting the
- 1:11:43therapist vegan. Now I'm in behavior cognitive
- 1:11:48behavioral therapy. Oh God, we are the problem.
- 1:11:51We are OK, but it's not our fault, no.
- 1:11:55Because we're the victim. Actually, I take it all back.
- 1:11:57We're the victims. Yes.
- 1:11:59Well, yes, because here's the thing.
- 1:12:01We're only problematic because we've been crafted to be that
- 1:12:04way by evil motherfuckers. They made us like that.
- 1:12:07I agree. They made us like that.
- 1:12:09I agree. OK.
- 1:12:11Well, we're not the problem. OK, so wait, I have a situation
- 1:12:15I want to give you. So you wouldn't give up your
- 1:12:17career for a man. Let's say you're with a man or
- 1:12:18whatever. Let's say you're a person.
- 1:12:20You're like in a deep relationship.
- 1:12:21You love them, da da da. You're like obsessed with them.
- 1:12:23And let's say they like, have to move.
- 1:12:25Would you move with them? You have to leave LA.
- 1:12:27Would you leave? They didn't get their visa or
- 1:12:29something. Like to wear?
- 1:12:31I don't know Poland. Poland, I'm just making.
- 1:12:34I don't know anything. Yeah, I.
- 1:12:35Can't I think like if it's somewhere that I also think is
- 1:12:38really cool? Maybe, but probably not.
- 1:12:41I have, I want to live close to my family.
- 1:12:44My family's all in San Francisco, so I would never move
- 1:12:47like across the country or something because I love going
- 1:12:50to visit my family. I'm like very close with my
- 1:12:52family and I'm where's your brother?
- 1:12:54My brother is in the Bay. He used to live in LA, but he
- 1:12:57moved back up to the Bay. Got it, Got it.
- 1:12:58I mean, it's not that far because especially where you are
- 1:13:00right now. Yeah, it's easy.
- 1:13:01It's either like the worst little 5 hour drive ever or like
- 1:13:04a 45 minute plane. There you go.
- 1:13:06So it's easy. Got it.
- 1:13:08Yep. Was curious.
- 1:13:09My roomie and I were talking about it when we're driving
- 1:13:10here. That's why I was like, let me
- 1:13:11ask. Basically, I'll make no
- 1:13:13sacrifices for a man and. You shouldn't and you shouldn't.
- 1:13:16I love that you shouldn't. Oh my God, I'm such a fucking,
- 1:13:20I'm a sacrifice ass bitch when it comes to like men.
- 1:13:22I like like I would literally be like, Oh yeah, you want my car?
- 1:13:25Take it and like you want my. Okay, in that way, yes, like you
- 1:13:29can move in with me, you can drive my car.
- 1:13:31Actually, every boyfriend I've ever had hasn't had a car, and
- 1:13:34every boyfriend I've ever had has crashed my car while driving
- 1:13:36it. Like every single one.
- 1:13:39Shut the hell. Well, I've had two like
- 1:13:41boyfriends, but three like I guess 3 boyfriends like 1 wasn't
- 1:13:45official, but it was long enough to where like it was my
- 1:13:47boyfriend that's a boyfriend. Three different men have crashed
- 1:13:50my car that I've. Had all the time keep your keys.
- 1:13:53No, I know. You'd think I would learn.
- 1:13:55Honestly, I don't even blame you.
- 1:13:56I don't learn nothing either. Like I make the same mistakes
- 1:13:59over and over again. I don't stop, you know what I
- 1:14:01mean? Like, and I reckon that's the
- 1:14:03self-awareness for me, 'cause I'm like, I know what I'm, I
- 1:14:05know this is bad, I know this is a bad idea and I'll blame other
- 1:14:07people like, yeah, I'm like, Brett, why didn't you stop me?
- 1:14:11Why did you let me do that? And.
- 1:14:13Your friends are like babe, you were manic.
- 1:14:15Oh my God, you couldn't. Be.
- 1:14:17Stopped. Oh my God, I don't even think I
- 1:14:18really have friends per SE, but my team will clock my ass all
- 1:14:21the time. They'll be like, Oh yeah, girly.
- 1:14:23And I'm like, I'm like, hey, give my phone back.
- 1:14:28That was literally Mina earlier. Like someone texted me and she
- 1:14:31saw my phone and she was like, what is this?
- 1:14:33And I was like. Oh, but that's good though, like
- 1:14:37getting clocked is important because if everyone around me
- 1:14:39was just like yes, like yes man, that's like actually scarier in
- 1:14:43my opinion, 100. Percent especially.
- 1:14:45If you're crazy like I, which we both are clearly because then
- 1:14:48you really need to get clocked or shit can go down.
- 1:14:51Like if I didn't have people clocking me I probably I can't
- 1:14:55even get into. Literally, I was in a meeting
- 1:14:58with a potential new manager and I was telling my PA I was like,
- 1:15:03you know, I don't think I'm go for it 'cause I could tell she's
- 1:15:05like a yes man. Like it's like yes, yes, yes,
- 1:15:08yes. And I was like, I, I don't want
- 1:15:09that. I need someone who's going to be
- 1:15:11able to guide me and really clock it for me because you know
- 1:15:13what I mean? Like I also just like I'm very
- 1:15:16peculiar about everything. So I agree with you on that.
- 1:15:19It's you're right. It's good to be, it's good to be
- 1:15:21clocked to me things. It is.
- 1:15:22It sucks when it happens but it's like OK you're a real ass
- 1:15:25bitch. Well, to be honest though, I'm
- 1:15:26going to do whatever the hell I'm going to do anyways.
- 1:15:27Exactly. But you can tell me.
- 1:15:29Yeah. And I will take it.
- 1:15:30Exactly. You can tell me.
- 1:15:32I'll be like, yeah, I know. I'm still doing it.
- 1:15:35Exactly. All my friends hate the man.
- 1:15:38I was like kind of liking a while ago, but I was like, I'm
- 1:15:42going to do it anyway and sorry like I haven't.
- 1:15:47There's nothing more to. Say, I mean it'd be like that
- 1:15:49and I fear he's the 1 then. He's not the one.
- 1:15:53Oh shit, he's not the. One OK, yeah, rebuke.
- 1:15:56Rebuke, rebuke. Claim.
- 1:15:58Don't claim. Not claiming.
- 1:16:00No claim, none of that. Not a firm.
- 1:16:02We skipping that skipped? Well, honestly, we're genuinely
- 1:16:06unqualified to be answering these questions and giving
- 1:16:09advice, but let's keep going. Let's keep going.
- 1:16:10I love it. So the guy I like that I'm
- 1:16:13besties with always tells me thinking about dates he's going
- 1:16:15on with other girls. Where we at?
- 1:16:19So you like? Him.
- 1:16:20You like him? And you guys are just friends.
- 1:16:23It's just past you. It's not like he's doing
- 1:16:24something wrong. What if he knows that the best
- 1:16:30person likes them? Well, that's what I was going to
- 1:16:32say because sometimes people over share things like that
- 1:16:35because they're almost trying to like make you jealous on purpose
- 1:16:38to see what your reaction, Oh my God, to gauge if you like them.
- 1:16:42Yes. And then you do a little game
- 1:16:43with them and then you talk, start talking about like, like
- 1:16:46holding hands with this guy. We're going to kiss our holy
- 1:16:48party. Yes.
- 1:16:49Yeah. Leaving.
- 1:16:50For a kiss, see what he does. I am such a fan of that.
- 1:16:54Yes, just. See what he does.
- 1:16:56He'll probably kiss you. He's a.
- 1:16:58Man he wants to kiss you. Oh my God, they he hims be
- 1:17:01kissing. Because he wants you.
- 1:17:03Love it. Honestly I'm right there with
- 1:17:06you. I completely agree with that.
- 1:17:07He's talking about these other dates.
- 1:17:08He's going on to make you jealous and feel the type of
- 1:17:10way. And like, is he talking about
- 1:17:11them like this was an awesome date and this girl was so cute,
- 1:17:14Or is he talking about them like this was a horrible day and and
- 1:17:17no one gets me like you, you know, So I think he's just lean
- 1:17:22in for the little. Going for the kiss, I would I
- 1:17:25have. Make it slow so he has time to
- 1:17:27like consent. Right, right, right, right.
- 1:17:30So they could acknowledge what's happening right now.
- 1:17:32Choose to, yeah. OK, there there are a lot of
- 1:17:34rules to this answer, but every single one has to be abided by
- 1:17:39and. If he rejects you, just burn his
- 1:17:41house down. Wait, how do you feel about
- 1:17:42rejection? I like rejection in all senses.
- 1:17:47Just like in general, like honestly I don't, I feel like I
- 1:17:50don't mind rejection. For me, it's like if I if I'm
- 1:17:52rejected, I could OK and I just going in my life.
- 1:17:54Yeah, to be honest, like in work and stuff, I don't mind it at
- 1:17:57all. I'm so used to it.
- 1:17:58Like obviously this earlier is not a.
- 1:18:00Nose one yes yeah, but with men, I almost never go for a man
- 1:18:06first, so there's like no opportunity for.
- 1:18:08I fucking love that like. I just wait for them to come to
- 1:18:11me. Oh my God, yeah, you don't chase
- 1:18:12your track. I literally don't chase.
- 1:18:14Not because I'm like, oh, like I don't need to.
- 1:18:16I'm just like, I just, I'm like, no, I'm scared.
- 1:18:19Like you just come to me and then we'll see what happens.
- 1:18:23No. Literally this is a masculine
- 1:18:24energy anyways they should be chasing.
- 1:18:26Yeah, yes. I'm like, I'm cute and fun.
- 1:18:29You are cute and fun. Come find me.
- 1:18:31Oh my God. Wait.
- 1:18:32OK, wait. Candidly, do you feel like if a
- 1:18:35potential suitor were to watch this podcast with you, do you
- 1:18:38think they'd be more? Oh my God.
- 1:18:42I think they would block me. They'd be like this crazy ass
- 1:18:46bitch. Like absolutely not which like
- 1:18:48valid but but like I said, I'm standing by the fact that I'm
- 1:18:54actually very nice and not crazy until I have a reason to be I'm.
- 1:18:58Actually stressed right now because I know when we're
- 1:19:00editing this, I I'm there's too many highlights for me.
- 1:19:03Oh my. God, the amount of sound bites,
- 1:19:05the amount of clips. No, I'm like, scared.
- 1:19:08I know I'm actually. Scared No, because I'm just
- 1:19:10like, I'm like somethings that you're saying because me like to
- 1:19:13speak, but somethings I'm gagged and I'm just like, I'm looking
- 1:19:16at the camera like. The crowd was silent.
- 1:19:20My ex watches this like. Which one the?
- 1:19:23Not the not the name tattoo one we don't fuck with.
- 1:19:25Him no, he's not welcome there's.
- 1:19:27Someone Loki. Love him.
- 1:19:29That's Loki, my bestie. What is happening?
- 1:19:34I think I date you. You're so fun.
- 1:19:36We should just date. Let's just fucking date.
- 1:19:38Let's. Just date, OK, Yeah, we make
- 1:19:40like a, a domestic partnership pact if we're both single.
- 1:19:43And you know what? I'm good on the 5052 perfect.
- 1:19:45I'm honestly super domesticated for no reason.
- 1:19:47Yeah, it's kind of same. We, we would have a good
- 1:19:50domestic partnership. We'd both be cooking, cleaning.
- 1:19:52We'd be vacuuming. We'd own 5 vacuums.
- 1:19:55Oh my God, yes, yeah, I have 3 in my house.
- 1:19:58Me. Too.
- 1:19:58No, I have 4:00. I have a Dyson, I have an LG
- 1:20:01cordless, I have a robo back and then I have my mop.
- 1:20:06OK, wait, we should date. We should date.
- 1:20:08OK, wait, wait. Wait, how do I?
- 1:20:11How do I do this? Do you want to be my girlfriend?
- 1:20:16How do I do? You have to like write on a note
- 1:20:18and pass it to. Me, I'm like shy now.
- 1:20:20And you know what's funny? I'm not shy.
- 1:20:22You just wanted to tell people how I feel.
- 1:20:23Yeah. OK.
- 1:20:24Don't make eye contact with me. Can we go out?
- 1:20:28Like like as friends or like on a date?
- 1:20:31Like like on a date? Wait, I'd.
- 1:20:34Love. To OK, wait, the Love Island
- 1:20:36thing, like the dating profile we just made is just thrown out
- 1:20:39the door. All right, listen.
- 1:20:41Step up, claim it quick. But she's a hot commodity.
- 1:20:45You trying to get Elise's name on you?
- 1:20:47Like you could be the 6th there. You go, OK, we're we're not
- 1:20:53qualified for this. Let's let's do the.
- 1:20:55Next one, we're the least qualified people.
- 1:20:57Actually terribly unqualified. Yeah.
- 1:20:59And I think you, you unhinge me even more.
- 1:21:01I'm sorry. No, I like it so much.
- 1:21:03My Co writer and I were talking about it and I was like, I think
- 1:21:06I need to get more evil because I feel like I'm trying to get
- 1:21:08evil, but right now I'm just pretty evil.
- 1:21:10But I need to get like really evil you.
- 1:21:13Brought in the right bitch. I'm we really did.
- 1:21:16We really did. Oh my gosh.
- 1:21:18OK, so my roommate keeps inviting their friends over and
- 1:21:21I obviously love it because they all love me, but it drains my
- 1:21:23social battery. What's tea?
- 1:21:26I mean, to me, that kind of feels like, OK, you love them
- 1:21:31and they love you and you guys are having fun.
- 1:21:33If your social batteries. Yeah, literally.
- 1:21:35Like if your social batteries drain.
- 1:21:36Like go to bed babe. Go.
- 1:21:38Literally you're home, go watch Netflix.
- 1:21:40So for me, I feel like I like it when people are over and I don't
- 1:21:44have to entertain them. So like I could pop in and out
- 1:21:47whenever I want. Love that.
- 1:21:49I love, I like having people around, but I don't always like
- 1:21:51being actively like because I feel like I have to entertain
- 1:21:54people when they're at my house. Me too, yes, but I think that's
- 1:21:57like a good like manner politeness to have.
- 1:22:00Like. I love when I go to someone's
- 1:22:02house and they're like, do you want like how sweet you were
- 1:22:04when we came here today? Like I can see that being how
- 1:22:06you are at home too. And I Oh my God, I feel like I'm
- 1:22:09the same and that's good. I love that.
- 1:22:11That's good, but it is a little bit exhausting.
- 1:22:13Yeah. Like hosting I I get really
- 1:22:15tired after. I'm like oh I need to be by
- 1:22:17myself for like 7 to 9 days now. Oh my God, I feel like I got
- 1:22:21recently I've been loving not being alone, which is
- 1:22:22interesting because I usually love being alone, but now I feel
- 1:22:25like I need to be like around people at all times, you know?
- 1:22:27That's like, I feel like I think it's all seasons.
- 1:22:30It's all like just kind of like what's the word I'm looking for?
- 1:22:33Not seasons. We have to cut me being stupid
- 1:22:36and not knowing words. Out I don't know this one
- 1:22:38either. OK, it's.
- 1:22:40It's like a really simple word. It's literally like phases like.
- 1:22:45We go through seasons I. Phases, cycles.
- 1:22:48Like I feel like life is just like, like I kind of, I'm not
- 1:22:51way too like sometimes I want to be alone a lot and then
- 1:22:53sometimes I literally can't be alone.
- 1:22:55I start to like go crazy and I need to be with people.
- 1:22:58Recently I've just been there. The phases of life.
- 1:23:00Oh God, I don't what? OK, what would we call this
- 1:23:02chapter in our lives right now? Like your chapter and I'll say
- 1:23:04mine. I think my chapter is definitely
- 1:23:08right now a growth chapter at least.
- 1:23:10I'm trying to make it be a healing and growth chapter.
- 1:23:13I really like that. It makes my chapter seem really
- 1:23:17fucked up. Mine is self-destructive.
- 1:23:19So I'm like and I'm the type of motherfucker that I won't just
- 1:23:23like go down. I will burn everything down with
- 1:23:26me. Everything comes with me.
- 1:23:28Everything burns down with me. Ashes, ashes, ashes.
- 1:23:33I love that. Well, you're the main character
- 1:23:34and it's your world I love. That's just how it is.
- 1:23:37Also, I'm a big believer that like every oh, sorry, my throat
- 1:23:41made a weird sound. I'm a good believer that like
- 1:23:42everything is kind of a balance of two sides of things.
- 1:23:47Like I don't think you can really enjoy love if you haven't
- 1:23:50experienced like hate. I don't think you can enjoy like
- 1:23:53happiness if you haven't experienced sadness.
- 1:23:55I think you need to have moments of self destruction so that you
- 1:23:57can build yourself back up again.
- 1:23:59Wow, I love that so much. I kind of needed to hear that.
- 1:24:02That was a bar. Oh, thank you.
- 1:24:03Oh. My God, you just like off the
- 1:24:04Dome. That too.
- 1:24:05Yeah, well that's really how I feel because I've been in super
- 1:24:08self-destructive times too. But now looking back, I'm like,
- 1:24:10I needed to be that girl so that I could kill her and build the
- 1:24:13girl. I am not.
- 1:24:14Not that I'm fucking awesome and.
- 1:24:15Perfect. I mean you.
- 1:24:16Are but I think over and over again, we just kind of like
- 1:24:19build ourselves up and get in these things and then we the
- 1:24:23shitty things we go through make the good things later.
- 1:24:26Like make sense. At least that's how I feel.
- 1:24:29No, no, I completely agree with you.
- 1:24:31Yeah, OK. Do you feel like life is like
- 1:24:33black and white, black or white? No, not at all.
- 1:24:35We live in like Shades of Grey. I 100% think like in a super
- 1:24:39Gray area of mentality, that's even like the point of pretty
- 1:24:42evil. Pretty evil is like that was
- 1:24:45what it meant to me. That's why I did like pretty as
- 1:24:48the first track and evil as the last track because to me that's
- 1:24:51the black and white. And then everything in between
- 1:24:53is a very like push and pull Gray area of like love and hate
- 1:24:58and. It's just, it's such an intense
- 1:25:00like body of work too. Thank you.
- 1:25:02It really is. And I mean, obviously actually
- 1:25:03in the best way, it's so intense in the way where it's just like
- 1:25:05you're bearing it out. And it's like, I love the, I
- 1:25:08don't want to say the word vulnerability, but it's what is
- 1:25:11the unapologeticness of being like, yeah, this is it.
- 1:25:14Thank you. Hey.
- 1:25:15Yeah. Pretty evil.
- 1:25:16I definitely feel like that was the vibe I wanted it to have, so
- 1:25:20thank you so much. Oh my God, I'm so excited and
- 1:25:22I'm so, so, so fucking excited for sex.
- 1:25:23Tape me. Too.
- 1:25:25It's going to be so good. It's going to, it's gonna be
- 1:25:28coming out really soon. Wait, I'm like super excited
- 1:25:30because Zim pop is like my favorite genre.
- 1:25:31I'll send it to you so you can Oh my God, will you please?
- 1:25:34It's. Not like 100% dumb but you'll
- 1:25:36get the vibe. OK, I'm so excited.
- 1:25:38Yeah. OK, OK.
- 1:25:39Wait, when's the lead single of that one coming out?
- 1:25:40Or did it Rick him out? It didn't yet.
- 1:25:42Keep an eye out for it, sex tape.
- 1:25:44And in the meanwhile, we're listening to Die and Pretty
- 1:25:47Evil. We're streaming Die.
- 1:25:49We're streaming Pretty Evil. We're streaming Pretty Evil
- 1:25:51Deluxe. We're saving up for tour in
- 1:25:54January. Tour January.
- 1:25:55I'm so excited. OK, well I ask every guest that
- 1:25:59come on the show and honestly I feel like we've said a million
- 1:26:02of them at this point. You know exactly what I'm about
- 1:26:03to ask. It's funny because contacts
- 1:26:06Lulu. So I'm about to ask Elise what
- 1:26:07her most Lulu take is. And before we started the show
- 1:26:10she was like, I don't know. I don't really have anything
- 1:26:12going to mind. And I'm like no, I don't have
- 1:26:14one this show either. Like, I don't know, I feel like
- 1:26:17we've delulu the hell out of this episode.
- 1:26:20We've said so many. Give me, give me another.
- 1:26:23Delulu take. Give me a delulu take.
- 1:26:26I'm like, I'm on the edge of my seat because you've been, you've
- 1:26:28been giving. This is our show.
- 1:26:30This needs to be such a bar like I just I feel the pressure.
- 1:26:33No, the pressure is up. I think my biggest overarching
- 1:26:36delulu take is that if it's broke, you can keep trying to
- 1:26:41fix it and maybe one day it'll actually get fixed.
- 1:26:44Keep working on that, that horrible thing that's already
- 1:26:48not going well and beating a dead horse, and maybe one day
- 1:26:50it'll actually get fixed. Has that ever actually gone
- 1:26:53fixed for you? No.
- 1:26:54Oh, but I would probably do it again.
- 1:26:56Oh, so that's my delulu. That's like my true delulu take
- 1:26:59because I actually do that. And then I have to think like
- 1:27:03later, like, oh, I'm being crazy.
- 1:27:05I feel like I'm such a logical, rational person that like, I
- 1:27:08want to be like, I would not do that.
- 1:27:09I know better. But then Oh my God, I'd be.
- 1:27:13You got me so stressed out. Oh my God.
- 1:27:15Love is like a crazy thing. It makes all I feel like it just
- 1:27:18makes logic and like intelligence go out the window
- 1:27:21because in other areas of my life I'm like, yeah, logical,
- 1:27:24this makes sense. This doesn't make sense.
- 1:27:26Yes. But then second, somebody starts
- 1:27:29getting in your ear, getting in there.
- 1:27:31OK, you know what? Let's go back to not dating.
- 1:27:34No, we can't start this episode with me saying I'm not dating
- 1:27:37anyone and that is a fact and I am taking time to heal and
- 1:27:41become normal. Absolutely and it's happening
- 1:27:44yes based on this this episode it's it's it's getting there
- 1:27:49we're. Getting there, we're getting
- 1:27:50there. There's a lot to be undone.
- 1:27:53Honestly, yes. Do you feel like this was
- 1:27:55therapy for you? This did feel very.
- 1:27:57I felt like it was therapy for. Me it was like I feel for me
- 1:28:01too, like I feel like I definitely overshared, which I
- 1:28:03enjoyed. So I like this was great and I
- 1:28:07never do therapy so I just got to like trauma dump everything
- 1:28:09onto. You no.
- 1:28:10And you know what's crazy? Because all your trauma dumping,
- 1:28:12I was like, yeah, got that. I was like, I feel that.
- 1:28:14I was like, I understand that. Yeah.
- 1:28:15So I'm like, wait, you are crazy though.
- 1:28:18So I'm like, wait, what did this?
- 1:28:19Say. Yeah, I was like, what does that
- 1:28:21make me then? Like.
- 1:28:23It makes us the victim, like we said.
- 1:28:25OK Elise, my heart's broken. We close out every show by
- 1:28:30manifesting together. Is there anything that you want
- 1:28:33to speak into existence here on Delulu?
- 1:28:35I also want to note that a lot of Delulu alum go on to being
- 1:28:38extremely successful. Oh my goodness.
- 1:28:40It's crazy. I'm so proud.
- 1:28:41Let's hold my crystals. OK, I brought.
- 1:28:44Crystals to the show. OK, OK, OK.
- 1:28:47We have crystals. Dragon blood.
- 1:28:48We have Dragon's blood. We have.
- 1:28:50I don't know what this is. I think it might be that Crystal
- 1:28:54girlies. Lap.
- 1:28:55Lap. Lap.
- 1:28:56Lap. Lap.
- 1:28:56Lap. Lap.
- 1:28:58Lap. Lap Lapis.
- 1:28:59I think it's. OK, don't eat us.
- 1:29:01The Crystal girlies are about to come for us.
- 1:29:03No, no. No, no.
- 1:29:05Wait, Charlie, what crystal is this?
- 1:29:07She's purple. Oh yeah, purple it looks.
- 1:29:10Like some kind of. It has to be Amethyst.
- 1:29:12And then, well, it's a moon. It's kind of and we have an
- 1:29:17opolite school so here you can which one whichever 1 you like
- 1:29:19the most takes. The school I.
- 1:29:21Think yes, OK, I'm sorry. I keep wait.
- 1:29:24What do they do? Oh, sorry, bright ASMR. You
- 1:29:33just, I don't know what they do. Let's manifest girl.
- 1:29:37And they're cute. Let's manifest.
- 1:29:39Let's manifest. I'm manifesting for both of us
- 1:29:43that we both continue on our journeys of being career
- 1:29:47oriented. I hope we both find all of the
- 1:29:50happiness and success we want in our careers.
- 1:29:52And when the time is right for both of us that somebody comes
- 1:29:56into our lives that will make the things we said on this
- 1:29:59podcast be something of the past, that's what I'm
- 1:30:03manifesting. Prayers up.
- 1:30:04This is going to be the archive they were going to watch back
- 1:30:07and be like, oh, that's what I got myself into.
- 1:30:09I hope so do your research, babe.
- 1:30:12What's what's mine? All of that too, claiming.
- 1:30:16Claim Claim without sound. Fuck, I don't know.
- 1:30:19You had a good one. OK, what am I manifesting right
- 1:30:21now? I'm manifesting.
- 1:30:26I'm so sorry. Brett's going to hate me when
- 1:30:28he's editing this. I am manifesting.
- 1:30:32I want to do like a good insightful one, like just off
- 1:30:34record right now. Now I'm like thinking because I
- 1:30:36was being like, oh, the show doing well when I'm like I said
- 1:30:38that every episode I think probably so fuck, why do I want
- 1:30:43it? Like it can be specific to like
- 1:30:46a random thing too. God, I don't know.
- 1:30:50Wait. OK, let me just something.
- 1:30:54What? OK, I'm manifesting.
- 1:31:01It's hard because a part of me wants you to suffer.
- 1:31:05It's it's hard because like I would, but I, I want you to
- 1:31:08suffer a little bit. So Oh my God, this motherfucker
- 1:31:14has so much blackmail on me. I'm manifesting peace in my
- 1:31:22life. Actually, I am manifesting that
- 1:31:23because I feel like I've been living such a chaotic few weeks,
- 1:31:25like genuinely so chaotic. And I just want, I just want a
- 1:31:30little bit of peace right now. Just.
- 1:31:33Manifest that peace, yes, calmness.
- 1:31:36Yes, I. Love that that'll come, that'll
- 1:31:39come. And you know what?
- 1:31:40Booked and busy. Love it actually.
- 1:31:43I'm actually hard manifesting the booked and busy.
- 1:31:44I love being booked and busy. I am a motherfucker that loves
- 1:31:48being distracted. So like, whatever it is, book
- 1:31:51me, I'm available. Whatever it.
- 1:31:55Is I'll make it happen, I'll do anything.
- 1:31:57Partial nudity, full nudity, fuck it, whatever.
- 1:32:00Full. Frontal.
- 1:32:01Fuck it, whatever, cast me, I'm available.
- 1:32:04Okay, we're manifesting all of that at least.
- 1:32:06This has been so fucking enjoyable.
- 1:32:08You're so fun. Thank you.
- 1:32:09So are you. This was literally insane and
- 1:32:12amazing. I was literally having me, I was
- 1:32:14telling you before we started, when you walked up onto set and
- 1:32:16I was like, I'm so excited. I watched some of your
- 1:32:19interviews and I was like, you were so fucking fun.
- 1:32:21And also you're really smart. Thank you.
- 1:32:23I love what you said. You said in your Buzz interview
- 1:32:25you were talking about genres and pop genres and like how they
- 1:32:28deviate. And I was like, yeah, no one
- 1:32:29talks about that, by the way. No one ever talks about that.
- 1:32:31So I love how you really got into it and you talked about
- 1:32:33that. We didn't talk about on the show
- 1:32:34either. But I love that you're just so
- 1:32:35smart and you're so fun. But thank.

- 1:33:26We'll hex you. We're going to hex them.
- 1:33:29Yeah, I love it. You said it's.
- 1:33:32A little pretty. Evil.
- 1:33:33Pretty. Yeah.
- 1:33:33Yeah. But it'll be like a cute hex.
- 1:33:35It'll. Be a good one it'll.
- 1:33:36Be like We'll operate into your room like little ghosts.
- 1:33:39Oh, I'm so down for that. And do get.
- 1:33:42Get I love seeing people's homes.
- 1:33:44I love seeing people's homes. I'm mad nosey I.
- 1:33:46Thought it was a ghost. I'd just be pulling up on people
- 1:33:48in their house. Oh my God, let me see.
- 1:33:50What's in the kitchen? I'm the worst because like I
- 1:33:52will like go to people's places and I know I shouldn't do this,
- 1:33:53but I'm like, what's in this drawer?
- 1:33:55The. Medicine cabinet.
- 1:33:56I'm like, what? What trucks are you on?
- 1:33:58I'm the fucking, can I admit something right now?
- 1:34:00This is going to be so fucked up.
- 1:34:02This is actually a really fucked up confession.
- 1:34:04It's even worse because he's in the room right now.
- 1:34:06But when Jamiko moved in, he left his bags for maybe 30
- 1:34:12minutes. I don't know where he went.
- 1:34:13He went somewhere and I, I opened.
- 1:34:19I opened space. Right now.
- 1:34:23I opened the bags and then I went through like whatever pills
- 1:34:26he had and I asked Chachi PT what they were, what they were
- 1:34:30for. This is like the real tea.
- 1:34:37And then I texted him and I was like, I'm going through your
- 1:34:40stuff right now, why do you need these pills?
- 1:34:42And he's like, what are you talking about?
- 1:34:43I was like, I'm just kidding. I was like, I'm JK.
- 1:34:46He's going to start locking his door.
- 1:34:48Not like you weren't kidding. I was not kidding.
- 1:34:50I ChatGPT Ed. I was it was it was like normal
- 1:34:53stuff. It wasn't like anything crazy,
- 1:34:54you know what I mean? But.
- 1:34:55But if it was something crazy, that would have been so tea.
- 1:34:58That would have been tea. I would have been gas.
- 1:34:59That's. Why we're nosy?
- 1:35:00I was nosy. Yeah, literally.
- 1:35:02I'm not proud of it. Please follow me on all my
