- 0:19Speaker 2: barn over the head right, it was good.
- 0:24Speaker 1: You'd your fierce year as well, CAZy.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I've had two from there and they've been okay, today's
- 0:29Speaker 2: one fucking rule.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Did you go and give them a elder?
- 0:33Speaker 3: Nah?
- 0:34Speaker 2: When I gave them the old ktp here cappie, that's
- 0:39Speaker 2: what they said.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Hey, what kind of barn me was it?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Pork lemo?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Yeah? Not very no, you see, I go chicken, but
- 0:47Speaker 1: each to their own key a very Vietnamese dishes, yes,
- 0:51Speaker 1: little chicken. Yeah. Why do the Vietnamese made on a peg?
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:56Speaker 1: I made on a peg. And they do a bit
- 0:58Speaker 1: more work around the farm. It's part of the ecosystem.
- 1:01Speaker 1: More a pig, you know what I'm saying. Chicken.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Chickens do all but they lay eggs but not enough enough,
- 1:13Speaker 2: not enough eggs. So if you could have a chicken
- 1:15Speaker 2: that laid like a six pack.
- 1:17Speaker 1: A sex peck, a chicken that's got a six pack,
- 1:21Speaker 1: and people come from far to see that. Check just.
- 1:27Speaker 3: A ribbons exciting news keys that's great stuff, mate.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I might go and give them a try out again
- 1:34Speaker 1: one day and then.
- 1:35Speaker 2: You'll come back. And I went and tried it cause
- 1:37Speaker 2: it was terrible. Well, look I know what's going to happen.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I have had a barn me from there before and
- 1:43Speaker 3: it was genuinely quite dry.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yes, same, so I went over. I used to go
- 1:46Speaker 2: over there like three ish. I went there and won.
- 1:50Speaker 2: So they was.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Like the chance to dry out.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was like it was beautiful, so good.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It was pump and I may I haven't been there
- 2:02Speaker 1: a couple of times and the person has been asleep
- 2:04Speaker 1: in one of the booths. Yes, and they.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It does my head in a little bit because they
- 2:10Speaker 3: should be pumping.
- 2:12Speaker 1: But the whole front facad is just terrible, not inviting,
- 2:17Speaker 1: is it.
- 2:17Speaker 3: You just walk past it. You don't even kind of
- 2:20Speaker 3: know it's there. Yeah, a little bit of a hidden
- 2:22Speaker 3: hidden gym.
- 2:23Speaker 1: They do a cheap coffee.
- 2:24Speaker 3: It's like, come on, guys, just bright, come on making
- 2:28Speaker 3: a fortune.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Go over there with a bit of advice.
- 2:30Speaker 2: You should the white man walk in the White Savior,
- 2:34Speaker 2: White Savior.
- 2:34Speaker 1: We're talking dangerous minds starrying, Michelle Pfeiffer. We're talking Moran.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Now he's African American.
- 2:42Speaker 2: The blind Side.
- 2:43Speaker 1: The blind Side was cyber Bullock. I might invest in it.
- 2:48Speaker 2: What you do is you walk in and say and
- 2:50Speaker 2: you say, you should start doing your sticks out of
- 2:52Speaker 2: the Yeah, sandwiches is what you need to do. Ditch
- 2:55Speaker 2: all this Vietnamese stuff.
- 2:56Speaker 1: They just keep doing what they're doing. But what he
- 2:58Speaker 1: jes up the beck in the booth instead of being
- 2:59Speaker 1: a sleep's jacket, you're jacking off.
- 3:01Speaker 3: But the thing is, that's what what I had I
- 3:04Speaker 3: have noticed is the amount of barn me, because there's
- 3:07Speaker 3: one just underneath as well that does barn me.
- 3:10Speaker 1: There's barn me everywhere at the moment.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But that's part of a chain.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yes, a chain.
- 3:15Speaker 2: There's a few of them, and that I feel like
- 3:16Speaker 2: those barmes are not made of as much love as
- 3:18Speaker 2: that one.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I couldn't tell you the last time. You know what
- 3:21Speaker 1: I like about that place across the road.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Actually it's quite coold, but I have to kill you.
- 3:25Speaker 3: It's quite filthy. No, that cross there where you went today,
- 3:30Speaker 3: it's kind of dirty.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and we went to Vietnam.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's kind of dirty.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Vietnam is kind of dirty. Yep, So you go to
- 3:36Speaker 2: a street food stall in Vietnam. It's dirty, totally, man,
- 3:40Speaker 2: it's delicious.
- 3:41Speaker 3: The first meal we had in Vietna Nam, I am amazed.
- 3:44Speaker 3: We didn't die, Yeah, but it was carendous and I
- 3:50Speaker 3: was taking the advice of Keasy and it was like,
- 3:53Speaker 3: just go to the shittiest, bloody, the local, the local
- 3:57Speaker 3: sort of stall there. And we went in there and
- 4:00Speaker 3: there were bloody mongrel dogs everywhere.
- 4:02Speaker 1: There were literally piles of rubbis. Take your life into
- 4:06Speaker 1: your hands.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Go to a place that all the locals are at.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It's packed with locals, were packed with local.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Great because it was empty.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it was dogs.
- 4:16Speaker 3: And I actually ended up getting in testine and I
- 4:20Speaker 3: was like, okay, you ordered that, well I did.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I didn't quite know what I was ordering. My fault.
- 4:25Speaker 2: You were sitting with dogs eating and.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Tested story of shifting it not that I noticed.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Otherwise, if I didn't tell you that, you would have
- 4:33Speaker 2: just gone to the hard Rock Cafe every night for dinner.
- 4:36Speaker 3: But then the next day we did notice where all
- 4:38Speaker 3: the locals were going, and that's where we went.
- 4:40Speaker 2: It was good, it was great, So that's what I mean.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It was felthy, the.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Wcky, big show week days from four on Radio Hurarchym
- 4:50Speaker 2: the WCKY Big Show Podcast. Can I discuss something with
- 4:53Speaker 2: you involving comedy that I was just having an interesting
- 4:59Speaker 2: conversation with someone earlier and they were saying that in
- 5:03Speaker 2: your generation, Jason, I don't think it happened. And then
- 5:06Speaker 2: sort of the the you know, the Diehindward generation doesn't happen.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But apparently a lot of the younger comedians don't write
- 5:15Speaker 2: their own sets reason and they are written by other comedians.
- 5:19Speaker 1: What do you mean in New Zealand?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, well, and you will find a lot of the
- 5:25Speaker 3: shows on TV are the same thing, but.
- 5:28Speaker 1: One hundred percent yes, yeah, did you know that Allen
- 5:31Speaker 1: wasn't written by Allen?
- 5:32Speaker 2: I'm talking about New Zealand though, you know, like so
- 5:35Speaker 2: Game of Two Halves, we'd go in there and film
- 5:36Speaker 2: it in like forty minutes. I have to redo a
- 5:39Speaker 2: couple of like bits where we've mucked up the way
- 5:41Speaker 2: we said words, whatever, and then it's done, whereas like
- 5:43Speaker 2: some other comedy shows in New Zealand, itsakes like three
- 5:45Speaker 2: hours talking about comedy shows shows, but stand up as well.
- 5:49Speaker 2: That's how this conversation started.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I I have and actually not in my time.
- 5:56Speaker 1: No, I've heard that there are.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Comedians out there that from a comedian friend who don't
- 6:02Speaker 3: actually write their own stuff.
- 6:05Speaker 1: We're talking about well known because young obviously young one
- 6:09Speaker 1: is going to pay for it. No, it would have
- 6:11Speaker 1: to be well known comedians.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think the agreement is they get a
- 6:14Speaker 2: cut of the yeah you're right jokes.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's stance. So that's I mean, if they're big enough,
- 6:19Speaker 1: and there's a couple that I can think of that
- 6:21Speaker 1: would be that.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I was just blown away by it because I was like,
- 6:24Speaker 2: we're talking about how if I was to go on
- 6:26Speaker 2: the big show and say any kind of joke that
- 6:29Speaker 2: I stole off of Instagram, off of real or TikTok
- 6:32Speaker 2: or heard someone else saying, and then repurposing it, yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I would feel terrible. Then I was like, that's why
- 6:36Speaker 2: I'd feel terrible doing a comedy panels show where they
- 6:38Speaker 2: quite often write you jokes to say they always right,
- 6:41Speaker 2: they always write your jokes, And I was like, I wouldn't.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I would feel so weird about doing all that. And
- 6:44Speaker 2: then that turned into a big conversation about how we
- 6:46Speaker 2: actually a lot of comedians, not all of them. I
- 6:49Speaker 2: don't know, Like you know, they might have a general idea,
- 6:51Speaker 2: but then another comedian will flesh it out for them
- 6:54Speaker 2: and write it all for them. But they are better
- 6:55Speaker 2: at presenting, you know what I mean.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Saying. But yeah, they have to be there have to
- 7:01Speaker 1: be a lot of money in it, and there's not
- 7:02Speaker 1: a lot of money in New Zealand comedy. I mean,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I just I need more specifics around there.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Total. I'm trying. I'm trying not to be specific.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Okay, No, I know, I'm just saying, yeah, I don't
- 7:13Speaker 1: want you to be specifical on here, but it's hard
- 7:14Speaker 1: for me to do.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I do you believe?
- 7:17Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I've genuinely heard that from a colleague who
- 7:22Speaker 3: is pretty big in the comedy scene.
- 7:25Speaker 1: But he wasn't you know.
- 7:26Speaker 3: There's also you hear stories of rampant plagiarism as well.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Well. You've got a great story about yes I do,
- 7:33Speaker 2: which was a shocker, But there was someone was performing
- 7:37Speaker 2: a joke that you had told and you were in
- 7:39Speaker 2: the audience watching them, yes, and then you saw them
- 7:41Speaker 2: afterwards and they were very surprised to see you.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And it was a very elongated joke too that.
- 7:46Speaker 2: It was a well known New Zealand.
- 7:47Speaker 3: It was a well known and I was like, what
- 7:49Speaker 3: the fucky man?
- 7:51Speaker 1: And then I saw them after the gig and he
- 7:52Speaker 1: went pale.
- 7:53Speaker 2: So I wonder if, like, you know, the biggest comedians
- 7:56Speaker 2: in the world, like it's hard for me to think
- 7:57Speaker 2: a Dave Chappelle or like them would.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Absolutely they have writers. They working. Yeah, it's some of them.
- 8:06Speaker 1: What a matter of opinion. Absolutely, yeah, absolutely, because you
- 8:09Speaker 1: have these guys that come out they do a special.
- 8:11Speaker 1: There've been comedians for ten or fifteen years, they finally
- 8:14Speaker 1: get a special. It's their most home work, and now
- 8:15Speaker 1: they're doing one every single year, all of a sudden,
- 8:18Speaker 1: all of a sudden, they've got enough quality. Some of
- 8:20Speaker 1: them don't because they come out and they'll be shit.
- 8:21Speaker 1: But absolutely they use they use writers, and even more interesting,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I think that more amazing than that is is rappers
- 8:30Speaker 1: that do it. So you had Em and M writing
- 8:35Speaker 1: on the on two thousand and one, Oh the Chronic
- 8:38Speaker 1: No Doctor j Yeah, like Dre's and Snoop Dog's parts,
- 8:42Speaker 1: and jay Z was doing the same thing. They were
- 8:44Speaker 1: go writing and writing all of those songs as if
- 8:47Speaker 1: they were them and handing them over and the demos
- 8:50Speaker 1: would have jay Z or Eminem rapping as those guys,
- 8:54Speaker 1: and then those guys just come in there and did it.
- 8:56Speaker 1: That to me is a fucking disgrace.
- 8:57Speaker 2: But that's obviously in a lot of music though.
- 9:00Speaker 1: No, but I was shocked that that was happening, especially
- 9:02Speaker 1: when they are in their prime. So saying that shocked me.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Eminem was actually the one walking down the street smoking indoos.
- 9:10Speaker 1: That's right, it's unbelievable. But you get there to Google
- 9:13Speaker 1: there's some huge songs that are like that. Yeah, but
- 9:17Speaker 1: that's the thing. It's But also you'll have people that
- 9:20Speaker 1: are writers, like monologues on Late Night and all that
- 9:22Speaker 1: sort of stuff. But when you when you go in
- 9:24Speaker 1: and you'll write for you know, Ricky Gervais is presenting
- 9:29Speaker 1: Golden Globes or whatever it might be, and you can
- 9:32Speaker 1: just in the same goes for these stand up specials,
- 9:34Speaker 1: were you just go in and you write the jokes
- 9:36Speaker 1: for that person in their voice, so it's not like
- 9:39Speaker 1: you're wasting jokes that you would otherwise use yourself. Yeah,
- 9:42Speaker 1: you're doing because the voice is so completely different than
- 9:45Speaker 1: it would never but it never work for you.
- 9:46Speaker 2: So it would be quite not easy, but it would
- 9:49Speaker 2: be easier to write for someone else if you know
- 9:51Speaker 2: their tone, you know.
- 9:51Speaker 1: What they're like. Yeah, they're like a character, right, It's
- 9:53Speaker 1: like writing for fucking well into paranal.
- 9:57Speaker 2: But I just thought it was interesting because the scope
- 9:59Speaker 2: of the comedians and evolved. I was just like, oh,
- 10:02Speaker 2: because I couldn't. I just cannot understand saying something that
- 10:06Speaker 2: isn't my work. I don't know. I was very weirded
- 10:09Speaker 2: out by it.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I think it would be yeah, I mean, yeah, it's
- 10:11Speaker 1: hard to know. But if they were big enough, I
- 10:14Speaker 1: could see it happening. Yeah, because you got to keep
- 10:16Speaker 1: the money, come in it. If you're out of jokes it,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I'll just pay something.
- 10:19Speaker 2: And also and also if you're another comedian that does
- 10:22Speaker 2: another style and you can make some money by helping
- 10:24Speaker 2: this person's right, I get it. I was just like,
- 10:27Speaker 2: I just was, Yes.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Happened in New Zealand. Anybody that's making any money, Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, totally. I was just like, oh fucking hell, yeah, jeez.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And I was, you know, because I was going to
- 10:36Speaker 2: be a comedian there for a but feelers, I.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Need you that you could add writers and everything. Yeah,
- 10:40Speaker 1: we could write your gags.
- 10:41Speaker 2: You could write me gags. I'd fucking hate to know.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Actually, a good name for your first stand up special, gagging? Oh,
- 10:49Speaker 1: kezy gagging?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Thanks Fellers, I like it, well you have, I can
- 10:53Speaker 2: see the poster for it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Actually, again, what about gaging hard? That? Maybe that's the
- 10:57Speaker 1: second one you do still? And then a third but
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm still gagging and then gagging like a motherfucker.
- 11:04Speaker 2: And then the last one's finally wrapped my lips around.
- 11:05Speaker 2: There's something out there and finally nailed it head.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Is that vague enough? Yeah, we'll work on it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll work shopping. Hey, this is the Big Show,
- 11:14Speaker 2: four or seven weekdays radio heard Acumen Stup
