- 0:03SPEAKER_02: Here we are, dude.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: You ready for this?
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: This is called We're 100% maybe shooting a podcast.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's right.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: We are doing that.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: We are doing that.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Kyle, we're using your office.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, appreciate it.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: It's the only office that's not um it doesn't have power.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: That tracks.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it tracks, yeah.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's not plugged in, or maybe that looks like another thrift store find.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: This is just like these Paisley couches we're on.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Not sure of the uh the origin.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Is the word hygienic?
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Is that a word?
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: That is a word.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Not feeling very hygienic right now.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Well, welcome you guys.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: This is a little impromptu.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: 100% maybe.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Pivoting on our scripture.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Thought it uh it'd be good just to this is our this is our response to to hurricane Zazel Zaza.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Did you ever figure out how to say it?
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna learn?
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: Timmy says it's Isaiah with an S.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: It's not Usa, right?
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: Isaiah?
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: I have no idea.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: Zazel Zaza.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: That's that's what it is for me.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: It packed a punch.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: It it it did some damage.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Do you want to kind of give an update on the church and just what's happening here and then what's kind of where we're at?
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, church is a mess.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: It's a mess.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: Um, we're in Kyle's office because uh the remediation company has it.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: You remember the remember the scene from ET?
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: That's before your time.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: Where they had all ET?
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Where they came in and they have all the pipes running through the house.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: That's exactly what's going on out here.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: So they're cooking the building.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Actually, literally cooking the building.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: So it's 90 degrees.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: It feels great in here.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Finally.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: For some reason, the youth room is like a dungeon.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's not bad in here.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: No, but that's probably the truth for most youth rooms, right?
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: They get the deep, darkest, dankest.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: But it's cool.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: It's cool.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: It's nice and cool in here.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Um, so they heat it up, they cool it down, they're pulling all the water out.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Roof has substantial damage.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: Um you know, the uh the adjusters are coming later this week, but uh our our roofer, our general contractor, they've walked it.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: It's soft in all the spots.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: It got took a big hit on the front, and um more than likely we'll need roof replacement.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: And um, so uh, you know, top of order is to get the building dried out, stop all, you know, so we don't have any mold remediation or any of that, and get the building open for Sunday morning.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: And then next priority is the preschool because you imagine people go back to school and gotta have all that sorted out.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: So right now, we whip, not right now, we absolutely will be ready to have church service on Sunday, but it's gonna be one big family service.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: Uh, we'll talk about the scripture here in a second.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: We're gonna try and truncate it a little bit because uh the all the preschool children's ministry rooms are questionable.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: We're having to cut drywall out and rip floors out because all the water intrusion.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Um but uh just big, big family service.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: We'll have regular worship and then we'll receive communion at the end.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: So communion as a family.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: It's it's we very rarely get to do this, but it's really awesome when we do.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: And we're gonna have extra folks from the prayer team, and it'd be awesome if your family could get communion together or you yourself or whatever that looks like, and then come on over and we'll just have someone pray a big prayer over you and and then get you back out to go do all the things.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Um, we're still collecting names of folks that can help out in the storm.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: Um, and then those who need help.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: What's the best way to to connect with all that stuff?
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: So Clint, who normally was a disaster response, he's building response at this moment.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: So Clint's taking care of all that.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: Uh, so best way to reach out, let us know if you're able to help or if you need help, that is to email Addy A D D I E at C L C dot Life, and she'll get back to you with a series of questions.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: Um, right now, the challenge with teams is that this is the first time our whole area just got uh laid to waste.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: So normally we'd be sending teams out everywhere, but just everybody's struggling.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: The cool thing is the church is being the church and you guys in your communities, we're hearing amazing reports of how people are just pulling in and helping neighbors out.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: Um, we're doing what we can, and we're slowly building those teams and getting after it.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: But and I forgot to say this, but uh all for the remainder of this week, this building's gonna be closed.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Uh, all groups, all legacy meetings, all that stuff.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: We're gonna shut that down.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: You don't want to be here anyway.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: It's loud, there's huge pipes blowing hot air everywhere.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: A lot of people carrying things around the building.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: I don't even know who they are.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: So and they're they're stripping all our offices out, all those had water damage.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: So it's just a mess.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: It's just a mess.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: But you know, every so far everybody's well.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Um I don't I don't know what to say.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: Azza Zaza just just punched us in the mouth.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: We thought we were making it through, and I don't know.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: And we did.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: So close.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: So close.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: We thought hurricane season was over.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: It was cool just to echo what you're saying about the community piece.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: It's such a an amazing community here.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: I know in my neighborhood.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: The next morning, everybody's out.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: I'm meeting neighbors I've never met before.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: That's the beautiful thing about hurricanes, yeah.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: The kids are all out riding their scooters and you know, helping out, and it's just like, I mean, by the your third day, it's a little tough being without power and being hot, but you know, it's it's there is something really simple and beautiful too about about how the community comes together.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So I don't think that can be lost too in the in the face of devastation and you know, um a lot of a lot of problems with with now dealing with the aftermath, but um, you know, there's some beauty too.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, we uh we just jumped right to it, did everything we could, and then later that evening got got home and neighbors brought us gas for the generator and all that.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: We just got power yesterday, which was whatever, I don't even know what today is.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: What is today?
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Tuesday.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Tuesday.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: So we just got power late Monday.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: I know some some of y'all, I don't know if you'll ever get this thing.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, still some without.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: I know some got like middle of the night last night.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, we were la we were yesterday too.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: But I almost kissed that dude from Florida Power, that bearded man.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Was he out there?
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: You saw him.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: He was there.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: He's really saying, Hey buddy, he's like, uh-uh.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Nope, you're welcome.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Keep on moving.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's impressive for you because you're such a touchy feeling.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: I don't like hugs, but man, I really love that guy.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: It's it's been so interesting, man.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: This is this is that that world.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: And here we go.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: The price of paradise, I guess, huh?
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: But every, yeah, I don't know, every place has its things, whether it's earthquakes or fires or tornadoes or hurricanes.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: It's just, it's uh, it's our our weather is fallen, our world is fallen, but then there's um you know God's people doing God's work in the midst of all of it, and him, of course, front and center with us the entire time, which is what we're gonna talk about today.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: As as devastating as things can be, God will always get the glory.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: He always does.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: It's amazing.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: So we'll so we decided to take the first John, first, second, third John series, and we'll just put that somewhere else.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I bet after this we're never going back to it.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: John may never get revisited uh in his.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Um Light and Love, how about gas and power?
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yes.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: First and foremost.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: First and foremost, that's right.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: So we we decided to pivot, and uh, I've just been praying, reading through scripture, and the psalm that we're gonna just quickly breeze over on Sunday morning because I know you'll have the littles with you sitting in the in the in the family room, is the 46th Psalm.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: And it's so interesting when you start looking at the the historical context uh of what's written there.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Probably the most notable piece of it is 46 verse 1.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: God is our refuge and strength, the very present help in time of trouble.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: So I went back and did my research as to what was the context of this psalm and who wrote it.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: I don't know, it's David, who what whoever it was, but it wasn't.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: It turns out it's the Korites, which um which is there is this interesting historical connection all the way back to Moses and Aaron.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: They had a cousin um who was of the tribe of, or one of, it was belonged to the Koethites, I believe is what it is.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: I'm still putting the story together.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: But when they were dividing up the responsibilities of the priesthood, Korah got frustrated.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: He didn't like his role.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: He wanted to be uh more connected to handling the sacred things of God, and so eventually he got really frustrated.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: And um, I tried to try to write sounds of it's in uh the stories in number 16.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: And so Korah gets together 250 guys and they go face off against um Moses and Aaron, and they've got incense and they're burning incense.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: And Moses says, Oh, this is not good.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: And so Moses gives instruction for everybody to step back, and God immediately judges them, opens up the earth, and swallows them up.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Yep, him and all his buddies.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Him and all his buddies.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: And so when you read the story, you think, well, that's it for Korah, he's gone.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: And then later you start to see this name keep popping up, the sons of Korah is what it says.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: And what you find out in um, well, I wrote I wrote the text down, uh, I did not, um, is there's this little note in scripture that says, when that moment happened, the actual sons, I think there were three of them of Korah, got away from their father.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: In other words, they were like that they chose obedience over family and over that challenge that was there, and their lives were spared.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, 400 years later, um, when David became king, you have this group of Kohathites that uh that had been really shamed because of what because of what Korah did, right?
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: That um that David took and elevated them, allowed them to be temple musicians, which they were master musicians, and then allowed them to be the gatekeepers.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: So they really kept the threshold of the temple.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: And they they wrote, I think, eleven of the most of the most prominent Psalms in the Bible.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: And this one is specifically about King Hezekiah, southern kingdom, so that's Judah, when the Assyrians were coming and they had the they had Jerusalem surrounded.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: And the king of Assyria, his name is Sennacherib.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: You say that fast.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: I got that's easier for me to say that than a zaza zazah.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: So Sennacherib, he he sends a letter to, I'm giving you a lot of info, but this is the part I I loved.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Sends a letter to King Hezekiah, and uh he says, uh, it's like, do you think your God can save you?
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: He's like, I'm telling you, just like all, and this is written in our in the in the story, just like all of the gods of these other countries, and then he names them.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: There's no way your God can save you.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Call out to him, we're you know, we're coming for you, is basically what he says.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: And he sends this letter to Hezekiah.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Hezekiah goes into the temple, throws it down before God, and says, Look what this guy's saying.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Isaiah, who was the prophet at the time, comes back in and says, Don't you never mind.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: He didn't say that, but he's like, Don't you never mind, God's gonna take care of this.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: They they're surrounded by uh, you know, 200 and something thousand men.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: The next morning, 175,000 people were dead.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: That the angel of the Lord came in and dealt with them.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: And um King Sennacherib went back and and they never they never set foot in in Jerusalem.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and they believe that this psalm is a result of that.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: And man, how how fitting is it when you think about just some of the stuff you know that goes on that God is our protector, whether it's an army, whether it's a zaza, or any of it.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: God's gonna receive the glory.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Um, he is truly our refuge, our strength, and our present help in time of trouble.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Something striking is always even in one, never the promise of an absence of trouble, right?
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Always the promise of the presence in trouble.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Because as much as we maybe even want circumstances to change, it doesn't mean they will.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, so there's something about wrestling through that, finding God, finding God's presence, resting in that in the trouble, and when your circumstances don't change the way that you'd like.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: So true.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: We're all digging fences out, we're all digging trees out, right?
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: And God's God still gets the glory.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Um, the the part that got me in all of this is if you go back and you compare it to the story, which which you can read in 2 Kings 19.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: The that 2 Kings 19 has has the letter that uh Sennacherib wrote to Hezekiah, and then Hezekiah's response, and then Hezekiah's what he does, and then Isaiah's response.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: It's all there, it's really amazing.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: Read it and then put it alongside this.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: The it tells you the implements of war that Sennacherib was was well known for, and they were this is what that's what's so interesting, and why I love history.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: They they were the bow, the um, the spear, and the and the chariots.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: And if you go and you read through the psalm, it says he breaks the bow and shatters the spear and burns the shields with fire.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Some of those translations in there, it talks about the chariots, so depending on how they translated them out.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: Uh, and you can just see how God dealt with that specific attack that was coming in and turned it back around.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: So do you because that that's kind of some historical context.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: So if we connect it to you know how we can maybe find some comfort in in it today, do you the general we do you see that sometimes we put our hope of security into things that we really have no control of?
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: You know, does it take an event like this or something to then sometimes kind of wake us up to our senses to realize we don't have as much control as we do, as we think we do?
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: I think it's exactly that.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: Uh start with the worst case scenario.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: Um death no longer has a hold of us, right?
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: So worst case scenario, and it may not be a storm that you're dealing with, could be something outside of that.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Uh God dealt with that, took care of that.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Our faith in him actually informs us to know that none of us are getting out of this physically alive, right?
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: Uh, that there is an attorney that goes beyond this.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: But yeah, after that, you know, um we we get insurance or not.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: We we try to board up the windows or not.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: Uh we do all the all the things and and try and prepare for the worst case scenario.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: But man, there if you sometimes you have to look hard and sometimes you have to really wonder, and sometimes you have to allow your mind to shift.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: But but in it, you will find something that you can say, you know, thank God for this, or or thank God for that.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: Um and I know maybe that's that's try for me to say that.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: I know there are many people that are you're looking at at devastation, and I and I never want to make light of that.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Um boy, these are these are troubling times and these are very difficult scenarios.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Uh I and I and I pray that there will come a time in a window where you can look back and you can go, man, but here's the things I see, or here's what what God has revealed to us.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: Um because there's a lot.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: There's a lot we can look around and um be pretty devastated about.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: I I think the thing for me that just always amazes me is when the storm is gone and you're out at the street corner piling up debris, and you look at your neighbor and and you you just ask the question, how'd you do?
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: And just give them give them two minutes to share the story.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: And and most many of them sound the same right now.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: Never doing that again.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: I've stayed through Hurricane II storms, they didn't sound anything like this one.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: Uh and and that's what I'm hearing.
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: And just giving people a chance to share that.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: Love them.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: Um they may not they may not join you in church this week, but they'll remember that you're a person that listened and and we're present to them.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Um hopefully Sunday we'll while during and after we've served communion, uh we're just gonna be present for folks uh to talk to you to find out what you need.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: But maybe it's just a just a place to sit and vent a little bit.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Share some of the thoughts.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or just be, you know, be together, be with some people that you love and love you, and and just have a bit of an escape, maybe, and and just that that time is really really valuable.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: You need you need that, you need to be filled up with that.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I want to ask you about the last couple verses of it, 10 and 11.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: You talked originally about just God's glory, and that has to be the the central theme.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: It should be the central theme to our lives as well.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: And sometimes those things get interrupted.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: We have, you know, uh connection to maybe our own little kingdoms or you know, our own little corner of the world that we want to say, well, this is mine and this is safe, and then something happens, you're like, well, maybe that's not as safe as I thought it was.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: That's not mine.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe that's not mine.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Um, which is is pain, you know, can be painful, obviously, but maybe ultimately for our soul for that bigger picture is is maybe a bigger point.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: But um be still and know that I am God.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: You talk about he says, I will be honored, I will be honored throughout the world.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Um, he's here among us.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: But that be still, I think sometimes maybe we we put that down to like personal comfort.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: And really the point when he says be still and know that I'm the Lord, he's saying like this is all mine.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: To me, that's the foundation, right?
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Like, even if the whole thing was cleared out, start there.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: Be still and know that I am God.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: You can build whatever you want to on that.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: You probably want to make sure you build it in light of that.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: But many of you might be down with the foundation.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: I I think you're exactly right.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: I I see that I'm exalted among the nations, I'm an exalted in the earth, is a response to the king of the Assyrians threatening God as just another one of these gods, right?
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: Little G gods.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: And God says, oh no, no, no, no.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: That the that the nations will recognize and the earth will recognize that I am God.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: And and I don't know about you, but hurricanes are generated by this crazy earth, right?
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: And God is God is exalted in the earth.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: So I I just one of those things.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Probably good for us to hold on to.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Probably necessary.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Uh one one of the things, and that it's it's a shameless plug, and we say it all the time, but man, it's in times like this when it shows up greater than anything else.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: Life groups, we talk about it, we bang that drum, but that's where the most source of help and resources come from for every single person.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: So we connect people to Jesus, but then we connect people to one another.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: And I man, life groups have been sharing generators, driving around, digging each other out.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: We we probably shouldn't allow people in the same community to be in a life group.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: We should probably force them from being in in different different parts of the community, but spread it out a little bit because if one community's hit, then you know everybody nobody's nobody's good.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but um I I the reports that you get from some of these groups, they they make sure their stuff is all buttoned up and then they head out to go.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: And that's who they kind of dig out first, and then they work from there.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: And man, it is the kingdom of God doing what the kingdom of God does, taking care of widows and families.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, I they're just they're just things that make you so proud as a preacher.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: It's good, man.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: So okay, Psalm 46, Sunday, same nor uh the same service times, but family service, no kids.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: 9 and 10 45.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be fun.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be crazy.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Just like a normal community life service.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: Um all the things.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: All the things.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, I don't know if we'll have the trees all cut out.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: The trees are that one big boy up front's not doing well.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: That one big boy is not gonna make it.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: Um, and the butterfly garden.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's not good.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not good.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: So uh it's probably a great place.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: It is a it is a contrast right now of the peace you can experience there and what it looks like.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: So it ought to be a psalm.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Somebody needs a write.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Sometimes that is what our heart, our heart looks like, right?
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: With like on the outside, we're kind of.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: I'll get Jeff to go back there and write a song.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: It'd be top.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: Top.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: I'll be right up there.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Let's do that.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: There was a nice moment.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: We had some worship at my house one night, you know.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Wasn't a lot else in between games of Clue and uh Texas Hold'em.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Texas Hold'em.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: You know, we had a lot of that.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: But yeah, there was this sweet moment of I just got out the guitar and we just worshiped together.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: And you know, those those are the uh the moments maybe you that stick with you with anything.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: But yeah, Tammy cooked her way through it all.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: She I think that's how she kept her mind, kept her mind.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Dad and I had 300 games of cribbage.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: We just went after it.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: So I don't challenge you in cribbage right now.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: You don't want any of me in cribbage.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: I don't even know how to play cribbage.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: You don't learn because it'll be a bad mistake for you.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: All right, good.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: So we love you guys again.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Uh we can reach out to Addy, and her email is on the web, our website as well, Addy at CLC.life.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: Can we close in prayer?
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: All right, please.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: Let's do it.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Heavenly Father, we love you, God, and I thank you for uh just being a part of a community that that truly uh loves you and is willing to love one another.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: And I just pray for each and every person in the sign of this podcast and everyone that they reach, God, that you will just allow your spirit to move them, to love them, to offer them that ability to be still and know that you are God, and then to start working out the details.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: I know that people are they're dealing with things that go beyond their scope of understanding.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: So bring the people there that can help get those things done and protect them from the ones that are out there that are trying to take advantage, give us wisdom and discernment and all the things that we're doing.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: And God, then just allow us to see your hand at work as you restore this community and get us back on track because there's a lot of things in front of us.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: And what I know is that when things try to knock us down, that usually means that there's something huge just on the other side.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: So we posture our hearts, we prepare for that.
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: But God, I just pray for all of those hearts that are out there today that are struggling.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: And and God, that power would be restored to everybody.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: A S A P.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: In the name of Jesus.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: We love y'all.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Love ya.
