Transcript
- 0:17And we now moved to the third hour of the morning show with Preston Scott.
- 0:22I'm Preston. That is Grant Allen. Great to be working with you
- 0:27today and thrilled to have with us on the program. He's our first guest
- 0:34post lightning strike on the phone lines. Jesus Ride Reguez better than two decades
- 0:42serving the United States as a United States Border Patrol Agent, now retired.
- 0:47Jesus, thank you as always for serving our country. How are you,
- 0:49brother? Good morning is very good? Yourself? Who first guest after the
- 0:54lightning strike? Come on and look at you beating the birds up once again
- 0:59in Arizona. Yep, it's a great morning. Out of here, great
- 1:03data. I'm walking on the grass. That's a good that's a good thing.
- 1:07I was gonna say, you sound like you're outside, man, Yeah,
- 1:10I am. I'm outside whether it's probably sixty six and it's nice and
- 1:15cool. Get get going the day already. Let me guess you're you're outside
- 1:19patrolling the neighborhood for illegals entering your your space. No, actually not,
- 1:26believe it or not. They're all headed out of here. They're all going
- 1:29to those big cities. You know, they're going back east and wherever else
- 1:32the need to go to. So no, they're just passing through here,
- 1:36leaving and take getting their cell phones and moving on. I didn't get a
- 1:40chance to ask you the last time we talked, how different are things in
- 1:46Arizona now that Katie Hobbs is the governor. Well, you know what,
- 1:53what I understand is that when she came into office, she directed, uh,
- 1:57I'm not sure which office to start them in all of those those uh
- 2:01contic boxes that Governor Douce he had put up right and so uh and so
- 2:07they started to remove them in And so I mean, traffic is traffic right
- 2:13before titled forty two was just wild and crazy. Aught of people from Mauritania,
- 2:19Egypt, a lot of Sikhs, a lot of Indians from the country
- 2:23of India. I mean, just a variety of everything. I mean it
- 2:27was there. There were a couple of ages to saying Nigos. When did
- 2:30you when did we ever apprehend people from you know, the continent, from
- 2:35different continents, like I said, never and so that and tons of Chinese
- 2:38nationals too. So I mean it just opened up the floodgates, it really
- 2:43did. And so that's what they were dealing with on a daily basis,
- 2:46and some stations were just I mean, it was ridiculous. And then they
- 2:50were just basically they were basically just a shuttle service, if you will.
- 2:53And that was because of the ending of Title forty two. Right before titled
- 3:00forty two, there was just a humongous wave of people. I mean it
- 3:04was I would, you know, I would look at some of the pictures
- 3:07of guys that sent me like geez, Louise, it's just crazy. But
- 3:10you know what, President, here's what what what um what I what I
- 3:15saw is that people talk about people coming in illegally, but you should see
- 3:22the environmental damage that's that they're leaving behind, not only on our side,
- 3:27but on the Mexican side. I mean tons and tons of trash, clothes,
- 3:32luggage, I mean, you name it, it's out there. I
- 3:35mean, and we're talking like in the Apua area there by Lukeville Port of
- 3:39Entry. There is a ton of garbage out there that I mean, it's
- 3:43an environmental disaster. I mean, you know, it's they just left to
- 3:49behind. It was just dump it there and walk away. Before I well,
- 3:53let me follow up first, So what are what are residents of the
- 3:58State of Arizona. Thinking about Governor Hobbs's decision to remove barriers and make it
- 4:04easier for illegals to enter the State of Arizona. Well, as you can
- 4:09imagine, most people are not happy with it. Of course, you have,
- 4:13you know, you have the other the other side that doesn't say much
- 4:15about it at all, and they're just kind of keeping quiet about the evil
- 4:18planning under the radar. But you know, there's a large, you know,
- 4:23group of people they're just not happy with it. But you know,
- 4:25and that's that's one of the issues out here. So I mean, you
- 4:30have to kind of pick your pick what what issue you want to see with,
- 4:32but that's that's one of them out here as well. The Morning Show
- 4:35with Preston Scott on News Radio one hundred point seven WUFLA thove minutes after the
- 4:48hour, Jus Rodriguez, United States Border Patrol Agent, retired our guests here
- 4:55this morning on the radio program. He's just I'm just curi As you mentioned
- 5:00that your former colleagues are talking about the influx of people entering this country illegally
- 5:10not going through the immigration process, which is you know, I understand tired
- 5:15and laborers and filled with difficult challenges, but other countries that normally aren't seen
- 5:21in numbers, What does what does that inform you about the relative awareness of
- 5:29our national policies or lack thereof, and how people around the world are following
- 5:34what's going on. I mean in talking in previous you know years when you
- 5:42would get these large influx of people from these different countries, it's because they
- 5:46would get you know, they would be apprehended by the word choyagens out in
- 5:49the field. And then once they got to those detention camps and again we're
- 5:55talking number of years ago, you know that they were cut loose. The
- 5:59words read fast and I mean it went fast before you knew you were dealing
- 6:02with multiple you know, groups of those of those people from those sending countries.
- 6:09And you know I saw with people from Brazil, uh, you know,
- 6:13from different different countries like that that you would just get you know a
- 6:16number of them like that Polish nationals believe it or not, you know pastal
- 6:19So I mean, once you you know, they got cut loose, it
- 6:24just opened up the floodgates. But what what shut the floodgates down is once
- 6:29they started to shipp them back to their sending country. That would end it.
- 6:32In this case, they're not sending them back. They're coming in and
- 6:35they're staying. I'm so words bread fast. Social media it plays a big,
- 6:42big role that cartels. I mean what explained to me is that when
- 6:47some of these groups would come up to the border and they would get taken
- 6:51off the bus and they were giving different um like different color braces that you
- 6:57will, and they would be directed for certain certain groups and that that group
- 7:02would take or that car stuff member or that smuggler would take that group to
- 7:06a certain spot along the border, and that's what they would cross. So
- 7:11it's it's an assembly line. They know exactly what they're doing and how to
- 7:15do it. I was just curious about that, Zeus even I mean maybe
- 7:20naively. I'm thinking immigrants from Central South America certainly Mexico. No, the
- 7:29cartels kind of hold sway here. But those immigrants from India and China and
- 7:34these other countries they have. Are the cartels controlling all of the trafficking,
- 7:42trafficking of illegal immigrants into this country? Oh yeah, I would say so
- 7:46present, because you have to go I mean, how else are they gonna
- 7:49traverse from let's they coming into Mexico and get up to the southern border.
- 7:55I mean there's there's there's always someone you know, wanting to make a buck.
- 7:59And and you know, like I said, ward spreads fast. I
- 8:01mean we see it in the past where you know, you get a group
- 8:05of illegal aliens out there and you know, or or they would leave somebody
- 8:09behind and it was a group that that had, you know, made contact
- 8:13with a smuggler, and that smuggler put him in contact with somebody else,
- 8:16and so that's how it went. I mean, even it's it's everybody takes
- 8:20a cut of the money along the way, because it's it's a very organized
- 8:24um group. And so it starts from wherever the sending country is, all
- 8:30the way to where wherever route they take, all the way up to the
- 8:33southern border, all the way across the other border, and all the way
- 8:35into wherever they're you know, into the United States, wherever they're headed to.
- 8:39So even if even if we're dealing with people that are trying to come
- 8:43into the country the right way or have justifiable reasons for trying to get into
- 8:50America, the cartels have their finger their hands in all of it. I
- 8:54would say, they would. I mean, you're dealing with the immigrant,
- 9:00that illegal immigration issue, but Preston, don't forget that. There's also the
- 9:05drug issue, right, the arcotic smuggling that takes place too. And like
- 9:09I've you know, like I've mentioned the past. You know, people seem
- 9:15to forget that. Yeah, you're dealing with wholes of people out there,
- 9:18okay, but what's coming in on the flanks. You think it's people that
- 9:22really you know, that you really want in this country. No, it's
- 9:24people that have either been released from from a prison system in the country somewhere,
- 9:30or the smuggling the narcotics in there. And we're not talking you're marijuana.
- 9:33We're not talking your green leafy stuff stance. We're talking your hard stuff.
- 9:37WFLA on your phone with the iHeart radio app and on hundreds of devices
- 9:41like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox and Sonos and i Heearts radio station.
- 9:50Almost twenty two minutes after the hour. Asus Rodriguez joins us once a month
- 9:56from Arizona, which means he's taken one for the team getting up this early,
- 10:01because you know, darn good and well, if he's getting up at
- 10:05five am Arizona, time to do this segment. He had to get up
- 10:09earlier just to be coherent, and now in the break he's talking about things
- 10:13we've talked about on the show. So my goodness, gracious what a soldier
- 10:18formerly a United States Border Patrol agent and our guests here this morning. I'm
- 10:24curious a zeus when Texas decides, Okay, the federal government's failing in its
- 10:30job, we're gonna do this ourselves. We're gonna send our own tactical border
- 10:35force to the border to assist. What is the reaction of your colleagues likely
- 10:41to be when a state says they've got to do something to help those of
- 10:46you serving the federal government. It's really helpful because in the past years we
- 10:52get these National Guard flights that would come through. I've worked a lot of
- 10:58midnights and evening shows out in the desert, so it was nice when you'd
- 11:01have air support come in in the evening and it was National Guard guys and
- 11:05they would you know, they would fly those missions to help us out,
- 11:07and it was real helpful because, I mean, they they were additional eyes
- 11:13for us and help us and addict a lot of groups out there and a
- 11:18lot of narcotics, So it's you know, it's real helpful, like a
- 11:22U you know, when you have extra people that are out there helping you,
- 11:26it did. It makes a big difference because now you've got additionalized that
- 11:30are helping you spot what you're missing or what you're trying to track down,
- 11:35and it helps, and you know, it's a big help. How does
- 11:37it work though? From a logistic standpoint, when you've got you know,
- 11:43you have your federal job that you're doing on behalf of the United States,
- 11:46you're under a certain set of orders, and then you've got the state.
- 11:52And while there might be some overlap kind of like a ven diagram, their
- 11:56bottom line is protecting the state. Do those things that no, No,
- 12:03because mainly they were used for for intel gathering purposes or eyes on on on
- 12:09on the border area. So they would call out the groups or you know,
- 12:13and like I mentioned, with the air support, they would they would
- 12:16um lead you into wherever the narcotics is at or where the group was at.
- 12:20And so you know, rarely did anything ever, we'd ever have any
- 12:24kind of issues with them, um you know. And then on top of
- 12:26that, with the with the air support, we always had an agent that
- 12:31was with that crew flight crew. So you know, the the agent was
- 12:33well aware of of what you know, the area, very verse in the
- 12:37area, so they're kind of guiding them and and so they're you know,
- 12:41they'd directed the pilots and where to go and and uh and those kinds of
- 12:45things. So it no, we never had any issues. Like I said,
- 12:48it was real helpful. And even when they would come into assist us
- 12:50with you know, even just a administrative things like you know, uh,
- 12:56fixing the vehicles, that was a big help too. Because you know,
- 12:58out in the denser, you can wear and tearing the vehicles is huge.
- 13:03So when you when you have extra hands in there that are fixing the vehicles
- 13:05and getting them out faster, that's a big that's a big plus. Two.
- 13:09Did you hear any reaction when from from your former colleagues about the fifteen
- 13:15hundred troops that Biden sent, he sent you know, National guardsmen down there.
- 13:20Uh. You know, some retired Border Patrol agents are out saying look
- 13:24what they were doing was acting as a welcome wagon. We saw a video
- 13:28of one of them from Illinois. I think it was actually unlocking a gate
- 13:33and allowing illegals to enter the country through a gate. Well, I mean,
- 13:37look at the look at the distance from San Diego all the way across
- 13:41to Texas. Now it's a long border, fifteen hundred. You know,
- 13:45soldiers isn't going to do much of anything, and a lot of times are
- 13:48probably going to be assigned to administrative duties, you know, maybe manning the
- 13:52radio, things of that nature. So they're not really they're not really intimately
- 13:56involved in what's happened on the on the border itself. And so no,
- 14:03most of the most of the soldiers like that, I know that we're already
- 14:07out here, and so they were helping out with working cameras and and calling
- 14:13out the groups to the agents. But again, uh, you know a
- 14:16lot of these groups were just they were coming across and they were they were
- 14:20quitters. They were just walking up to the to the ages and just you
- 14:24know, sitting down and waiting to be processed and shipped out. Last question
- 14:28for you. We got about a little less than a minute left here,
- 14:31jeseus um. Now that you know, title forty two is over. We
- 14:35didn't see the crush immediately. Do we expect to see an increase over the
- 14:39coming weeks and months? The crush already came through and went, uh,
- 14:46you know what, present, I think it's going it's going to continue,
- 14:50I honestly do. I don't think it's going to slow down any time soon.
- 14:52It may not be in the numbers that were in the in the past,
- 14:54but you're going to keep seeing that because again the words has spread spread
- 15:00these countries. You know, come in and they'll process you and they'll kick
- 15:03you out the door, and you know on your way you go and they're
- 15:05not going to be seen again. More than likely, no, you'll never
- 15:09see him again. Welcome to the United States. Zeus has always thanks so
- 15:13much for making time for us on the program and appreciate your service to our
- 15:18country. Brother be well, Thank you, sir. Take care all right.
