- 0:01SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, I'm Blizzard Planet.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: This is Self-Friendship Podcast, where playfulness meets societal reflection.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: I wanna take a minute to let you guys know how much I love beanies.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: So I told my friend I brought a beanie to Bali with me just because I love beanies
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: and I understand how humid it is and that it's not really a place to wear beanies.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: So I said, this week's Self-Friendship Podcast episode will be...
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Bikini and a beanie.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So bikini, meet beanie.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: But I also just got a haircut and I can't turn the fan on because it messes with the sound.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: So sweaty.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: Self-Friendship Podcast.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: I'm in.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Hope you are.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: This will be fun.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: All right, let's get started.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Lots of B's today.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Blizzard.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Beanie.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Bikini.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Bali.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Beach.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Lissy.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Epic.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: And I'll just say it because I know you're thinking it.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Boobs.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: However.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: On Planet Butter, if you've been keeping up, the word for boobs is chonkalonkas.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: And that's not a B, that's a C. All right, onward.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Again, I'm Blizzard Planet.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: This is Self-Renture Podcast, where playfulness meets societal reflection.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Through the lens of self-friendship,
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: embracing,
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: understanding,
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: and enjoying ourselves,
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: I hopefully inspire you to critically think,
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: creatively think,
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: and optimistically approach life.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Imagine this.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: You hopped on the band rocket,
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: and now you're on Planet Butter,
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: a world made of delicious,
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: sparkly peanut butter.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: And an adorable disco ball of self-reflection is whirling around in her transforming convertible.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Thanks for joining me in my 45th episode.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: I was just thinking.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: My first episode, I was recording on my sister's couch in New York City on a total whim.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: I think I titled it Intuitively Impulsive Introduction.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: It's cute.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Check it out.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Now we're at my villa in Bali overlooking the pool in a bikini and a beanie next to
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: my book that wasn't yet published when I started this.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: So cool.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: A little gratitude.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: Some of what I'll be sharing includes my answer to last week's question of the week,
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: a note on upgrades,
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: a note on willingness,
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: the way we do the things we do,
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: a note on AI,
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: self-friendship article snippet,
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: am I attracting or projecting this?
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: consciously frivolous,
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: a note on our bladder,
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: a perspective dance with the Tesla truck,
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: easy trust integration,
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: and as always,
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: a brand new question at the end for all of us to self-reflect and self-connect and
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: email me,
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: selffriendshippodcast at gmail.com.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: My answer to last week's question of the week, which was,
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: This week, try to catch yourself responding, I know, to something and sub affirmed for it.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: We're trying.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Let me know how it goes.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: If you Google and the context,
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: that is when you say,
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: I know,
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: in response to something,
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: and then you say affirmed,
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: just in case the English accent didn't click for you.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: My friend, Heather, Heather Thrills, across the internet, look her up.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Incredible boxing and yoga instructor.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: So we were bopping around the Palisades in Chippy,
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: my darling little convertible and the transforming one in Planet Butter's coffee
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: table lesson.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: And she gave me a heads up for a turn we wanted to make.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: And I said, I know.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: And I immediately followed it up, clarifying how I meant it.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And that's when I realized.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: It's just not the phrase I want to use.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: That's when affirmed came to be.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: So every time she offered directions, I just said affirmed and we would giggle.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Yay, giggling.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: A note on upgrades.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: I've highlighted quite a bit about our willingness to upgrade,
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: taking responsibility and embodying riskidence,
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: a Blizzard dictionary term,
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: towards what we want to
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Today,
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: I want to offer the consideration that the more we give honesty to ourselves and to
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: others about our current state of being,
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: the more we will be able to receive in order to evolve.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Be willing, give honesty, receive upgrades.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: I'm sweating way too much.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: That was a fun, fun little go.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Good introduction.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Hang on, please.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Hope I look good.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: I can't see the camera.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: A note on willingness.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Following that, I want to further focus on the term willingness.
- 5:16Sorry.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Again, willingness is taking responsibility and embodying riskidence, a Blizzard's blictionary term.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: The link to the sub stack is in the show notes.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: towards what we want, embodying risk-addedness towards what we want.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: And when we act with sincere willingness,
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: disregarding what could be perceived as limitations and choosing to act in
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: accordance with our best interests,
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: we demonstrate trust in ourselves and the universe.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: This embodies our role in the universe,
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: alignment,
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: as I say,
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: and progresses our infinitely expansive evolution.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Now, the way we do the things we do.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: One of my favorite things about writing is that I always have loose intentions.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: I let it flow knowing my intentions and action will be enough to do what I set out to do and more.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: They say the way we do one thing is the way we do everything.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: True.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: I love to set an intention and flow.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Flow dictates all in my world.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: planet butter.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: What I find most interesting about the way we do one thing is the way we do
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: everything is that while it's true,
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: there are various dimensions to the way we do things.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Humans are complex and we do approach different things differently.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Yet,
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: to some degree,
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: the various ways we approach various things all show up in some form in all that we do,
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: which is why
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: The way we do one thing is the way we do everything.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: When we consider this in our self-friendship practice,
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: especially when we're self-reflecting and self-connecting,
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: we can begin to appreciate the nuances in the various dimensions of ourselves and
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: which part of ourselves is leading in all that we do.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Now, a note on AI.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: The way we use AI is a reflection of our self-friendship practice, of our capacity for expansiveness.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Consider this.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Do you view AI as an enhancement or a replacement?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: A very popular conversation.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Think about it through the lens of self-friendship and let me know what you think.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: selffriendshippodcast.gmail.com All right.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Now, a self-friendship article snippet titled,
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Am I attracting or projecting this?
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: What we receive is what we attract because of what we project.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: How we perceive what we attract is yet another layer of our projections.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: The action we take in response is a reflection of our expansiveness.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: The skills required here is the practice of objectivity and action flexibility.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: When we can be objective,
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: it means we can understand multiple perspectives,
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: inviting us to recognize the part of ourselves that is attracting a situation and
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: the part of ourselves projecting the situation.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: With this initial approach of objectivity in our self-reflection and self-connection,
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Prior to taking action, we create the position of empowerment within ourselves.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: The safest place to be.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Empowered.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Uncertain.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Yet.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Clarifity.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: A new Blizzard's dictionary term to be released this Sunday, October 13th, 2024.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: Read or listen to the rest on PlanetButter's sub stack.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: The link is in the show notes.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Now a perspective dance with doing our best.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Slow-mo is still mo.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Domigo Ruiz Jr.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: offers us one of the four agreements to always do our best.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: The skill here is minding that our best will always be different.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: You know that.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: So this is just another a little sillier way to remember it.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Slow-mo is still mo.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Now a party of one.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: As a loving reminder, party of one means having fun with oneself or oneself as oneself.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Anywhere, everywhere, no matter who's there.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: We become our party of one by consistently practicing self-friendship.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Each episode,
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: I share little tidbits from my life that happened thanks to me showing up in the
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: world as my party of one.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: turned the commercial plane's kitchen into my personal VIP lounge.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Talk about one flight closer to the Planet Butter jet.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: If you follow Planet Butter's Instagram, you know what I'm talking about.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: New dimensions of truth are the key to manifesting.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: Keep watching.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: I know I am.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: So this happened after the dude next to me was just absolutely hammered.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: He even, he ordered me a shot of whiskey when I asked for tea.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: And then he took it because I wasn't, I don't want that.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: It was a lot.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: He also, he showed up smelling like alcohol.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: And then he had a tall boy in his hand, ordered wine.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: And we were in the back of the plane.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: This is why I'm getting my Planet Butter Jet.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: all right so my point here is he was absolutely hammered and so i was like all
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: right i can make this funny entertainment for myself of course as per my party of
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: one and i did then when he passed out he started saying some weird shit in his
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: sleep and would randomly tap my shoulder to try to talk to me so i had enough
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: boundaries, the first core method of self-friendship.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: So I escaped the corner window seat, though I love the window seat.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: And while it was an entirely full flight, I couldn't switch seats.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: So the flight attendants had me hang in the kitchen sitting on these giant metal boxes.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: And we were eating all the snacks and drinking all the tea.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: We, me, it was just me.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: I was eating the snacks that they don't really hand out, which is cool.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: Like I got a banana.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: I've never had that before.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, boy.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: and drinking lots of tea.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: It was really nice.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: And they were all really friendly.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: And we all joked that it became the VIP lounge.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: So,
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: and actually one of the flight attendants started that joke,
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: which made my planet better jet more true because it's not when other people affirm it.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: It's just like magic.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Listen to the Singer Rich episode.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: I don't remember the number, but it says Singer Rich in the title.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: You'll understand more about what I'm talking about in terms of manifestation and
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: other people fueling it.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Now a note on critical thinking.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Part of my whole thing here is encouraging critical and creative thinking.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: So I want to remind everyone that we also need to do this about our own thoughts.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we have intrusive thoughts or thoughts that occur to us because we heard
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: someone else say something somewhere sometime.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Our subconscious works like that.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: So to check ourselves by critically thinking about our own thoughts is imperative
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: to our self-friendship practice.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Now, consciously frivolous, a new Planet Butter phrase.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Rather than frivolous, let's consider it the willingness to spend.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Bend your mind, spend your time wisely.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Consciously frivolous is to invest time and money in our self-friendship practice.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: That is, invest in our most expansive selves.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: In regard to spending money, investing money, like everything, it's energy.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: The uni is only capable of balance.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: With investing in ourselves, we're sending giving money externally to enhance us internally.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: Giving is receiving.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: In receiving internal fuel...
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: and skills, we're able to give more of ourselves to the world.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: We're able to give ourselves because there's more of ourselves to give because we
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: invested in expanding ourselves.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Now, my friend's self-friendship.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: I was with my friend the other day and she said something I didn't quite hear.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: So I said, what?
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: And she said, oh, I'm talking to myself.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: And my whole heartedly sincere response was, oh, good.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: Maybe it was just in the moment.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: You might've had to be there, but like self-friendship, obviously.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: A note on bladder.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: Holding in our pee?
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: is telling our body on a very subconscious level that we are okay with depriving
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: ourselves of our most basic needs.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Think about that and practice going to the bathroom as soon as you have to.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: It'll also encourage a stronger mind-body connection.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Think about that.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: We're literally potty trained.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: Like you are conditioned to deprive your body of your basic needs.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Because when we're little tiny babies, we just let it flow whenever you gotta go.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: And then you're told, don't do that, society.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Now, a perspective dance with the Tesla truck.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: I've been in other countries for only six months, seven months now.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Well, I was, yeah, okay.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: Six months, we'll say.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: And in my month-long trip,
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: there we go,
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: on my month-long trip to the States just now,
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: I've heard so many people talk shit about this new Tesla truck for being ugly,
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: douchey,
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: and all other negative things.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Can we all just take a step back and not judge it for a second and just look at it
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: as the crazy technology fun that it is?
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: It's like so cool that humans created this.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Not to mention there are cars driving around with no humans in it.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: That is wild.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Why are we judging these things when we can be appreciating the creativity that went into it?
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, now an easy trust integration.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Integration is half the effort of our self-friendship practice.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: The other half is self-reflecting and self-connecting.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: We can demonstrate our trust in ourselves and the universe by integrating this
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: little phrase when we miss a turn driving.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: say immediately, I wasn't meant to make that turn, or that wasn't my turn.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: That'll fuel the subconscious mind to believe and trust in what is meant for us in all areas of life.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: More kisses.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's funny.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Now a perspective dance with kissing.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Let's bring back the word smooch.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it left, but
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: I want to put this platform to good use and remind everyone of smooching.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Smooch.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: It's just like so fun.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Smoochies.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Yay.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Now a note on vocal cords.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: The same way pheromones are relevant to romantic relationships, I imagine our vocal cords are the same.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: If you don't know,
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: pheromones are chemical signals that animals,
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: including humans,
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: release into the environment to communicate with others of their species.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Between humans,
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: especially in romantic relationships,
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: they can enhance feelings of connection and compatibility,
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: predominantly through our sense of smell.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: So, vocal cords...
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: I figure someone's voice will enhance feelings of connection and compatibility
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: through our sense of physical touch.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Because our voice is a vibration, so we physically sense it.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: And if we don't like the sensation of someone's voice,
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: how could we possibly form a romantic connection with them?
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Now, a perspective dance with our network.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: It's become popular to say that we're a product of the five people we surround
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: ourselves with,
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: or whatever the number is,
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: or that our network is our network.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: I want to give a little love to the nuance of most time.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: There's still incredible value in investing time with an eclectic mix of people of
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: all backgrounds,
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: socioeconomic status,
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: different perspectives.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, don't spend the majority of your time with people who you wouldn't want to be like.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: But humans are multidimensional and there's value in investing a little bit of time
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: with a lot of different people.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: Self-reflect and self-connect a little bit on each mirror, each person.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Improve what you want in yourself.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Keep what you like and release what you don't.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: And now, a perspective dance with absurd.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: I want the term absurd to have a positive connotation.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I use it with positive intent.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: It feels good to say.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: It's fun.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: It's easy to make sound dramatic.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Like, this pizza is absurd.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: See?
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Yum.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Pizza.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Cool.
- 19:48Okay.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Now, grateful for gratitude.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: When I got to Bali again, I was so grateful to be back and to be here again.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: And then I thought to myself, wow, I'm so grateful.
