Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: It is happening Tonight's State of Origin Sean Fraser.
- 0:07Speaker 2: You want and hung out with the Blues mates.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I was hanging out in the camp the first
- 0:11Speaker 3: time I've ever done that. It was cool.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Was it daunting? It was cool?
- 0:15Speaker 3: You know when I think about being a little kid
- 0:17Speaker 3: loving the Origin, I thought about, Wow, here I am
- 0:20Speaker 3: hanging out with the boy.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Hinched me moments. You had to chat to a few
- 0:23Speaker 2: of them and what are we expecting?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Well, you know they're all pretty pretty positive optimistic. First,
- 0:28Speaker 3: I caught up with Jack Bostock. It's his Origin debut tonight,
- 0:32Speaker 3: so I picked them up for him. So he told
- 0:33Speaker 3: me all about how excited.
- 0:35Speaker 2: He is up with Jack.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Mate, huge day for you. He'll be out there at
- 0:39Speaker 3: Suncorp Stadium. What was your first reaction?
- 0:41Speaker 4: I was just so excited, obviously me full of the motion.
- 0:44Speaker 4: It was a dream come true.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Since you were a young boy, you must have been
- 0:46Speaker 3: dreaming or something like this.
- 0:47Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure, I definitely was. I grew up in
- 0:50Speaker 4: Shah Harbor and then lived out so I was eighteen
- 0:52Speaker 4: and then moved up to greg Cliffe to play for
- 0:54Speaker 4: the Dolphins and been there ever since and enjoying my
- 0:56Speaker 4: time with the Dolphins. Obviously they've game my our old
- 0:58Speaker 4: debut and they've got me to our arms so far.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It really is like the pinnacle for him, isn't it.
- 1:02Speaker 1: They get paid quite good coin just to play a game.
- 1:06Speaker 3: They get money on the side for State of Origin
- 1:08Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's like twenty yeah, yeah, yeah, no, it is about
- 1:10Speaker 1: twenty or thirty K. But it's the ultimate, right. Like
- 1:13Speaker 1: you said, he grew up in Shell.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Harbor down there in the Illawarra and now he's playing Origin.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Every NRL player wants to play statable man.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That's how think it is.
- 1:21Speaker 3: James Dedesco had some words of encouragement for Jack and
- 1:24Speaker 3: he also told me what happens when the Blues get
- 1:27Speaker 3: together to bond. What do you say to a bloke
- 1:30Speaker 3: like Jack who's just you know, he's been launched straight
- 1:32Speaker 3: into that he's a number two jumper.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 5: He came in to Camp Plus in game two, so
- 1:36Speaker 5: it was the first time met h Manage. Tadohim is
- 1:38Speaker 5: a legend of a fellow. It's been playing some great
- 1:40Speaker 5: foota too, coming back from Nacyl. It's not easy and.
- 1:42Speaker 3: The spine is it all been hanging out in the
- 1:44Speaker 3: same room sort of working on tactics. So I read
- 1:46Speaker 3: that somewhere.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Is that true?
- 1:48Speaker 5: We all meet Mitch and Nathan room together for the
- 1:50Speaker 5: first two camps. We've been pretty close to me and
- 1:53Speaker 5: Mitch has been messmates since our time with the Tigers,
- 1:55Speaker 5: so there Nathan've spent a lot of time on off
- 1:57Speaker 5: the field with him as well, so it's pretty natural
- 1:59Speaker 5: our conversation.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Tell me about the bonding session. Is there a bonding
- 2:01Speaker 3: session for the Blues? Is there something fun you guys
- 2:03Speaker 3: get to do to get to know each other.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Yeah, the ones the Monday, we come in today, we
- 2:08Speaker 5: I we can we have a few beers here at
- 2:09Speaker 5: to night and have a dinner and yeah, it just
- 2:11Speaker 5: relaxed before we sort of get into the week ahead.
- 2:13Speaker 5: So that's always how it is.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Most camp is that karaoke?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Do you have a favorite song?
- 2:18Speaker 2: Karaoke?
- 2:19Speaker 5: I will sit down and have a laugh at the
- 2:20Speaker 5: boys I be up there performing that.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not going to tell us what they really
- 2:23Speaker 2: get up to.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And when they're bonding together, mate, you know that we've
- 2:27Speaker 1: had lots of scantals over the years.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 2:30Speaker 3: The next one I spoke to is Nathan Cleary, and
- 2:32Speaker 3: here he debunked a popular theory about what goes on
- 2:35Speaker 3: at these bonding seats.
- 2:37Speaker 2: All right, here we are with Nathan and Cleary.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It's a big ask to go up to Queensland fifty
- 2:41Speaker 3: five thousand screaming. Queensland is all yelling and dolling, eight
- 2:44Speaker 3: years and all of that.
- 2:45Speaker 6: How do you win next Wednesday? Oh it's a big
- 2:47Speaker 6: ask any origin. Really, it doesn't really matter where it
- 2:50Speaker 6: is or what game it is. I think it's just
- 2:52Speaker 6: getting around each other, channeling that news fast spirit and
- 2:55Speaker 6: just going after it.
- 2:56Speaker 3: There used to be a thing where the Blues players
- 2:58Speaker 3: would sit around a piano and singing in that carry
- 3:01Speaker 3: on does that slap?
- 3:01Speaker 6: When did that happen years ago?
- 3:03Speaker 3: I think it was back in the daily era or
- 3:04Speaker 3: something like that.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Well, I think the bonding nights early in cam We're
- 3:08Speaker 6: a bit different back then, so it's what they are now.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Sitting around a piano.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Now, the theory was they used to hang around and
- 3:15Speaker 3: have a few beers and someone would get on the
- 3:17Speaker 3: piano and they just picked dogs and.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Just see yeah, all right, someone had to know how
- 3:20Speaker 1: to play the piano, though I'm not sure many footy
- 3:22Speaker 1: players were.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Finally, the captain Isaiah Yo told me what went wrong
- 3:26Speaker 3: in game two and how they're going to win tonight.
- 3:30Speaker 3: All right, here we are with the captain Isaiah Yo.
- 3:32Speaker 3: How are you mate?
- 3:33Speaker 7: Going well? Thank you?
- 3:34Speaker 3: It seemed like in the first game, I believe you
- 3:36Speaker 3: were trailing by quite a bit, you regained got back
- 3:39Speaker 3: there the second game.
- 3:42Speaker 2: What went wrong there? And in the back end?
- 3:44Speaker 7: Yeah, we started really well. That was probably the big
- 3:45Speaker 7: criticism of the side after game one. Our start was poor.
- 3:48Speaker 7: I thought we got that right, and you're going in
- 3:50Speaker 7: at halftime leading and then yeah, I was really disappointed
- 3:53Speaker 7: that sort of first first couple of minutes they made
- 3:55Speaker 7: an early line break, but then just sort of how
- 3:56Speaker 7: the tries came. So that's disappointing. You can't do that
- 3:59Speaker 7: at an ROL level, let alone and stay the Origin level,
- 4:02Speaker 7: and we did, so that was the disappointing part. And
- 4:04Speaker 7: that's just some way we've got to be better.
- 4:05Speaker 3: And you've been very supportive of Lori Daily, the coach
- 4:08Speaker 3: with his selections. How do you think he's gone this
- 4:10Speaker 3: darn round.
- 4:10Speaker 7: I can't fail him as much as there's been obviously
- 4:12Speaker 7: outside noise, and he gives us a wonderful plan prepares
- 4:15Speaker 7: us well, and then it's on us to go out
- 4:16Speaker 7: in there and do the job. And he stills a
- 4:18Speaker 7: lot of belief and a lot of confidence in us,
- 4:19Speaker 7: and now it's our job to go out and then
- 4:21Speaker 7: perform well for him and each other. So I look
- 4:23Speaker 7: forward to doing that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: All right, Well, good luck to the Blues tonight. Look,
- 4:26Speaker 1: a lot of people are doubtful, but let's hope they
- 4:28Speaker 1: can do it.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Sean, It's gonna be hard, but I hope the Blues
- 4:30Speaker 2: win Bow two. All right.
- 4:31Speaker 1: State of Origin Game three going down at sun Cop
- 4:34Speaker 1: tonight at eight oh five.
- 4:36Speaker 2: You can watch on Channel nine. Of course.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Hey, Birthday Wheel, if it's your birthday, call us thirteen
- 4:41Speaker 1: one oh sixty five.
- 4:42Speaker 2: You will win a prize.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Good luck. Yes,
