Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 25th.
- 0:11Unshaken confidence. Life can feel unstable so
- 0:14quickly. Plans change, people disappoint
- 0:16you, the future feels unclear. You try your best but still
- 0:21cannot control everything. Proverbs chapter 14 verses 32 to
- 0:2633 says that the righteous find refuge and that wisdom rests in
- 0:30the heart of a person of understanding.
- 0:33Psalm 47, verses 7 to 8 says God is the king of all the earth and
- 0:38God reigns over the nation's. That truth is an anchor.
- 0:41God reigns not just when life makes sense, not just when
- 0:46prayers are answered the way you hoped, not just when things feel
- 0:49calm. God reigns when the world feels
- 0:52loud, when your heart feels uncertain, and when you cannot
- 0:55see what comes next. Romans Chapter 9 reminds us that
- 0:59God's mercy and purpose are not based on human striving.
- 1:03That can be humbling, but it is also freeing.
- 1:06Your security does not rest on your ability to perform
- 1:09perfectly, control outcomes, or earn God's love.
- 1:13It rests on His mercy. Unshaken confidence is not
- 1:16pretending you are never afraid. It is knowing where to run when
- 1:20fear comes. It is remembering that the
- 1:23throne of God does not shake just because your circumstances
- 1:26do. Your grades, reputation,
- 1:29relationships, and future matter, but they are not strong
- 1:32enough to carry your identity, only God is.
- 1:35So when life feels uncertain, look higher.
- 1:38The King is still on his throne. His wisdom is still true.
- 1:42His mercy is still enough. You can rest because your life
- 1:45is held by someone stronger than your circumstances.
- 1:48Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you that
- 1:52you reign over everything. When life feels uncertain, help
- 1:55me find refuge in you. Teach me to trust Your mercy
- 1:59instead of relying on my own efforts or control.
- 2:02Give me wisdom, peace, and unshaken confidence because my
- 2:05life is in your hands. In Jesus name, Amen.

- 2:15authority, I shall not die, but live?

- 3:10Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 3:13Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 14, verses 32
- 3:19to 33 World English Bible. The wicked is brought down in
- 3:23his calamity, but in death the righteous has a refuge.
- 3:27Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding and is
- 3:31even made known in the inward part of fools.
- 3:34Psalm chapter 47 World English Bible for the chief musician.
- 3:39A Psalm by the sons of Korra. Oh, clap your hands all you
- 3:43nations. Shout to God with the voice of
- 3:45triumph, for Yahweh Most High is awesome.
- 3:48He is a great king over all the earth.
- 3:51He subdues nations under us and peoples under our feet.
- 3:54He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he
- 3:57loved. Selah.
- 3:59God has gone up with a shout, Yahweh with the sound of a
- 4:02trumpet. Sing praises to God.
- 4:04Sing praises. Sing praises to our king.
- 4:07Sing praises, for God is the king of all the earth.
- 4:11Sing praises with understanding. God reigns over the nations.
- 4:15God sits on His holy throne. The Princess of the peoples are
- 4:19gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham.
- 4:23For the Shields of the earth belong to God.
- 4:25He is greatly exalted. Romans Chapter 9 World English
- 4:29Bible I tell the truth in Christ.
- 4:32I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy
- 4:36Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
- 4:41For I could wish that I myself were a cursed from Christ for my
- 4:44brothers sake. My relatives according to the
- 4:47flesh, who are Israelites, whose is the adoption, the glory, the
- 4:51covenants, the giving of the law, the service and the
- 4:54promises, Of whom are the fathers?
- 4:57And from whom is Christ, as concerning the flesh, who is
- 5:00over all God blessed forever, Amen.
- 5:04But it is not as though the Word of God has come to nothing, for
- 5:07they are not all Israel that are of Israel.
- 5:10Neither because they are Abraham's offspring are they all
- 5:13children. But your offspring will be
- 5:16accounted as from Isaac. That is, it is not the children
- 5:20of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the
- 5:23promise are counted as heirs. For this is a word of promise.
- 5:27At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.
- 5:31Not only so, but Rebecca also, conceived by one by our Father
- 5:35Isaac, for being not yet born, neither having done anything
- 5:39good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might
- 5:43stand not of works, but of him who calls.
- 5:46It was said to her. The elder will serve the
- 5:49younger, even as it is written. Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.
- 5:53What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with
- 5:57God? May it never be.
- 6:00For he said to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
- 6:03and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.
- 6:07So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but
- 6:10of God who has mercy. For the Scripture says to
- 6:14Pharaoh, for this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that
- 6:18I might show in you my power, and that my name might be
- 6:20proclaimed in all the earth. So then He has mercy on whom he
- 6:25desires, and he hardens whom he desires.
- 6:29You will say then to me, why does he still find fault?
- 6:32For who withstands His will? But indeed, O man, who are you
- 6:35to reply against God? Well, the thing formed, ask him
- 6:39who formed it. Why did you make me like this?
- 6:42Or hasn't the Potter a right over the clay from the same
- 6:45lump, to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for
- 6:49dishonor? What if God, willing to show His
- 6:52wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much
- 6:55patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and
- 6:59that He might make known the riches of His glory on vessels
- 7:02of mercy which He prepared beforehand for glory?
- 7:05Us whom He also called not from the Jews only, but also from the
- 7:10Gentiles, as He says also in Hosea.
- 7:13I will call them My people, which were not My people, and
- 7:16her beloved who was not beloved. It will be that in the place
- 7:20where it was said to them, You are not My people, though they
- 7:24will be called children of the living God.
- 7:27Isaiah cries concerning Israel. If the number of the children of
- 7:30Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will
- 7:34be saved, for he will finish the work and cut it short in
- 7:37righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the
- 7:40earth. As Isaiah has said before,
- 7:44unless the Lord of armies had left us a seed, we would have
- 7:47become like Sodom and would have been made like Gomorrah.
- 7:51What shall we say then? That the Gentiles who didn't
- 7:54follow after righteousness attained to righteousness, even
- 7:58the righteousness which is of faith.
- 8:00But Israel following after a law of righteousness didn't arrive
- 8:04at the law of righteousness. Why?
- 8:07Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works
- 8:10of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling
- 8:13stone even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion, a
- 8:17stumbling stone and a rock of offense.
- 8:20And no one who believes in him will be disappointed.
