Speaker 1: the 26-27 schedule commences. Colorado invades Manitoba. The first two
• 0:15
Speaker 1: games at home went exactly as planned. Fourteen total goals scored,
• 0:20
Speaker 1: four of which came on the power play, propelling the
• 0:23
Speaker 1: Avs to two wins on home ice. Tonight, without Connor
• 0:27
Speaker 1: Hellebuck in net for the Jets, Still suspended, the Avalanche
• 0:31
Speaker 1: hope to buck the trend of not winning games here
• 0:35
Speaker 1: in Winnipeg. Well, Colorado takes to the road for the
• 0:38
Speaker 1: first time, looking to start 3-0 for the first time
• 0:41
Speaker 1: since 2023-24. This is the first of four meetings with Winnipeg.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: They won't get together for a second time until February 25th.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: The Avalanche haven't fared well here. One and four in
• 0:54
Speaker 1: their last five clashes, totaling just six goals in those
• 0:58
Speaker 1: five games here at Canada Life Center. So put on
• 1:01
Speaker 1: your listening sweaters for the abs and jets. Force of
• 1:04
Speaker 1: Nature versus Hot Tub Component. Live for your listening pleasure
• 1:09
Speaker 1: around North America and around the world on the Altitude
• 1:13
Speaker 1: Sports Radio Network. Manson plays around the pressure in his
• 1:17
Speaker 1: own zone. Whacked ahead by Svechkov, picked up by Schwartz.
• 1:21
Speaker 1: Twirls a backhand. That's canceled out by Dylan Samberg. And
• 1:25
Speaker 1: now Bjork, the diminutive Swede, moves ahead. Shot from Velarde.
• 1:30
Speaker 1: That's ricocheted wide. T.J. Hughes slaps at the boards. Doesn't
• 1:34
Speaker 1: make it out of the zone. And now Burns there
• 1:37
Speaker 1: to steal it away for Colorado. Svechkov for Schwartz across
• 1:41
Speaker 1: the red line. Back for Svechkov using the boards. Took
• 1:44
Speaker 1: a bump, able to get it back off his skate.
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: Hughes is there.
• 1:46
Speaker 2: Schwartz lets it go, and he scores! May the Schwartz
• 1:50
  Speaker 2: be with you!
• 1:52
Speaker 1: Jaden Schwartz gets his first goal in burgundy and blue,
• 1:56
Speaker 1: and finally, one finds its way past Stuart Skinner. Schwartz
• 2:03
Speaker 1: makes it 1-0 Avalanche. He thought about a pass to T.J. Hughes,
• 2:08
Speaker 1: but instead kept it himself. There were three Jets just
• 2:11
Speaker 1: staring at him. He is handsome, after all. And he
• 2:14
Speaker 1: puts it high, right shoulder on Stuart Skinner, and the
• 2:17
Speaker 1: Avalanche on their 21st shot of the hockey game make
• 2:21
Speaker 1: it 1-0. Give Cale McCarr a breather, too, after that
• 2:25
Speaker 1: extra long shift last time out. Burns. That beats the
• 2:30
Speaker 1: puck by Shifley. Far side dot up top for Sandberg,
• 2:33
Speaker 1: lets it go, tipped in, and Perfetti scores. Cole Perfetti,
• 2:37
Speaker 1: now a four-game point streak, three goals and three assists.
• 2:45
Speaker 1: And the Jets, with under two minutes to go in
• 2:47
Speaker 1: the second, take a 2-1 lead. Perfetti appeared to be
• 2:52
Speaker 1: standing in the blue paint. We'll see. Burns got beat
• 2:57
Speaker 1: to the puck by Shifley. Got around the net, threw
• 2:59
Speaker 1: it in front. Oh, that's tough. Perfetti threw a cross
• 3:05
Speaker 1: check into the back of Brock Nelson, threw him off
• 3:07
Speaker 1: the puck, created space. That should have been a penalty
• 3:10
Speaker 1: on Cole Perfetti by a mile away. That's a big miss.
• 3:13
Speaker 1: That's a huge miss. Had some indecision there. Got caught
• 3:19
Speaker 1: in between and the puck rolled off his stick and
• 3:21
Speaker 1: back to Winnipeg in the neutral zone. Stolen by Schwartz.
• 3:24
Speaker 1: Has the avalanche goal. He works down the near wall.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: Forces it free. T.J.
• 3:27
  Speaker 2: Hughes.
• 3:28
Speaker 1: Couldn't take the puck with him. Now places it off
• 3:29
Speaker 1: the far wall for Kulak. Creeping in. Kulak is shot.
• 3:32
Speaker 1: That misses wide. Backhander thrown in front. They score!
• 3:37
Speaker 2: It's Fedor with the score! Svechkov puts it home. His
• 3:42
Speaker 2: second point of the game.
• 3:44
Speaker 1: And with 7.25 to go in the third period. Ladies
• 3:47
Speaker 1: and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, this is
• 3:51
Speaker 1: a tie hockey game. Kulak played it off the end wall.
• 3:55
Speaker 1: Schwartz put it in front. Right at the top of
• 3:57
Speaker 1: the crease is where Fedor Svetchkov was standing his 13th
• 4:01
Speaker 1: career NHL goal, his first with the Avalanche, and he's
• 4:06
Speaker 1: tied it at two with 725 to go in the
• 4:10
Speaker 1: third period here in Winnipeg. Can't read the draw right
• 4:14
Speaker 1: side of Skinner Puck is. Always slow in getting out
• 4:17
Speaker 1: of that face off circle. Jets have it. Clearing attempt
• 4:20
Speaker 1: went off the dasher board. Burns got burned. Baron tries
• 4:24
Speaker 1: to throw it off the side of the cage. And
• 4:26
Speaker 1: it goes back to the avalanche. Nathan McKinnon, one on
• 4:30
Speaker 1: four through center ice. He's seen worse odds. Leaves it
• 4:33
Speaker 1: for Burns at the center dot. He'll send it in.
• 4:37
Speaker 1: Abs tag up. Kadri applying pressure on Mario Ferraro. 90
• 4:41
Speaker 1: seconds to go in regulation. Jets send it ahead off
• 4:44
Speaker 1: the skate. McKinnon for Kadri. That misses. Back for Barron.
• 4:49
Speaker 1: And this is launched in by Ferraro. Gulak with it.
• 4:53
Speaker 1: In his skates. Off the end boards. And for Molenski,
• 4:56
Speaker 1: back for Kulak. He pushes through center ice. Kulak into
• 4:59
Speaker 1: the jet zone. Now it's Natchez who lets it go.
• 5:01
Speaker 1: Misses stick side on Skinner. Landis Scott has it stolen
• 5:05
Speaker 1: away with a minute five to go. Shifley ahead. Shifley
• 5:10
Speaker 1: centering feed. Kyle Conner scores. Scheinflees, seven seconds left. Last
• 5:35
Speaker 1: chance here. McKinnon all the way through. Kadri holding, shooting,
• 5:38
Speaker 1: got a deflection and went wide. McKinnon one more try.
• 5:40
Speaker 1: He's got the puck in the corner. Time has run out.
• 5:46
Speaker 1: And the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg continues to be
• 5:49
Speaker 1: a house of horrors for the Colorado Avalanche. They just
• 5:52
Speaker 1: can't win in this building. Mercifully, we don't have to
• 5:56
Speaker 1: come back here until March. Final score in Winnipeg, Jets 3,
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: Avalanche 2.
