- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks, Mike. It was a very hard fought split over
- 0:04Speaker 1: the weekend in Saint Louis in Dallas to get the
- 0:06Speaker 1: overtime win Saturday, come up just short Sunday down in Texas.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Just take us through this weekend and your thoughts and
- 0:12Speaker 1: the performances.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought we played well, you know, I said
- 0:17Speaker 2: after the Saint Louis game, what a difference a half
- 0:19Speaker 2: a second makes, you know, turned a potential loss into
- 0:23Speaker 2: a victory. And then you know, from the other end
- 0:26Speaker 2: of it, thought we could have had better. I guess
- 0:31Speaker 2: if you could have, you would have should have kind
- 0:32Speaker 2: of thing. But you know, we played very well in
- 0:35Speaker 2: both of those games, and you know, that's the consistency
- 0:39Speaker 2: and the effort that we're looking for. So pleased with that.
- 0:43Speaker 1: In the Dallas game, at least from a press box
- 0:45Speaker 1: view for myself and Al, it seems like your team
- 0:49Speaker 1: did everything right except score that second goal in the game.
- 0:52Speaker 1: What did you make of what appeared to be a
- 0:54Speaker 1: probably the best defensive effort that we've seen the season.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I thought both games on the weekend were
- 1:01Speaker 2: really good defensively. You know, I think we kept shot
- 1:07Speaker 2: totals and we kept shot attempts down and we did
- 1:09Speaker 2: a really good job of that offensively. You're not wrong.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I mean, you know you're going to have you're going
- 1:16Speaker 2: to have nights I guess when you just can't solve.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You know, the other goaltender, I thought he played well.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I thought our goalies both played well in both of
- 1:26Speaker 2: the games, and so, you know, it was just one
- 1:28Speaker 2: of those things like we had enough opportunities to tie
- 1:32Speaker 2: the game. We certainly had enough opportunities to win the game.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It didn't work out. Sometimes those things are going to happen.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But my whole point to that is that if you
- 1:40Speaker 2: put yourself in that position every night, you'll come out
- 1:42Speaker 2: on the right end of the stick more often than
- 1:45Speaker 2: you won't. So you know, that's the message moving forward
- 1:49Speaker 2: for our hockey team.
- 1:50Speaker 1: You mentioned the goalies both Matt Murray Philip Rubauer going
- 1:53Speaker 1: essentially on two and a half week's rest and thrust
- 1:57Speaker 1: into that position, probably unplanned with Joey Decor not making
- 2:00Speaker 1: the trip. What did you like about their game and
- 2:03Speaker 1: their ability to keep the Kraken not only winning one game,
- 2:07Speaker 1: but keeping them in a position to win the second
- 2:09Speaker 1: as well.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought, you know, I thought they both played well.
- 2:13Speaker 2: You know, you called it two and a half weeks rest.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We can call it two and a half weeks rest.
- 2:18Speaker 2: It's you know, they hadn't played for a long time.
- 2:21Speaker 2: They'd been working hard. Our goalie coach Collins Uliano's done
- 2:24Speaker 2: a great job with them to keep them ready. They've
- 2:27Speaker 2: done a great job and I said that before, to
- 2:30Speaker 2: keep themselves ready. So you know they they in both
- 2:35Speaker 2: games gave us a chance to win and they both
- 2:39Speaker 2: played well. So you know we need them to keep going.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Looking at Columbus, they're coming off of a very tough
- 2:45Speaker 1: loss last night in overtime in Edmonton. Despite their recent results,
- 2:50Speaker 1: still a very skilled, a very fast team. What can
- 2:53Speaker 1: the Kraken expect out of Columbus here tonight and how
- 2:56Speaker 1: can you mitigate what they bring and capitalize on the
- 2:59Speaker 1: fact that this will be there a second game in
- 3:00Speaker 1: a row.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Well, first of all, highly and I know I say
- 3:05Speaker 2: this probably every time, but really.
- 3:08Speaker 1: There are no bad teams in the NFL.
- 3:10Speaker 2: So there's no bad teams, and and you're actually seeing
- 3:13Speaker 2: it even more. I would probably argue this season, in particular,
- 3:18Speaker 2: at this juncture, there's more teams piled up than there
- 3:22Speaker 2: ever has been. It's just incredible. All the young teams
- 3:26Speaker 2: are getting better. And you know your Anaheims and and
- 3:31Speaker 2: and Columbus is no different. They are a highly skilled,
- 3:35Speaker 2: very fast team. They put pressure on you and they
- 3:39Speaker 2: have defensemen that can you know, join the play, move
- 3:43Speaker 2: up on the play, and make plays. Zach Wrenski is
- 3:46Speaker 2: one of the best in the business. And so you know,
- 3:49Speaker 2: for us, it's it's business as usual. You know, we
- 3:54Speaker 2: have to make sure that we defend, we take away
- 3:56Speaker 2: their speed and we can transition off of that and
- 3:59Speaker 2: use our and you know, yes, they did play last night,
- 4:04Speaker 2: so we have to make sure that we manage the park,
- 4:06Speaker 2: take care of the pocket, and play down in their
- 4:09Speaker 2: zone and force them to come two hundred feet
