- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So this morning we are talking about the things we make up, the
- 0:35stories we tell ourselves that we believe to be true except we
- 0:39are completely making them up. They are not real and we are
- 0:42torturing ourselves with the crappy stories that we make up.
- 0:46And this across the board happens in all areas of our
- 0:51life. Personal, professional, family,
- 0:54business, it doesn't matter. We tend to make up stories
- 0:58without provocation of accuracy. We just make them up.
- 1:04So what does this do to us? Well, first of all, it can be
- 1:07detrimental because the stories can be so hard.
- 1:11On us that we start seeing things as if they're real and we
- 1:14start reacting as if they're real threats, but they're not.
- 1:17And so it changes our personality.
- 1:19It changes what we're focused on.
- 1:21There's so many pieces of the puzzle that are not true, and
- 1:26yet we act as if it is. So when you start thinking about
- 1:31how this affects you, it doesn't matter.
- 1:34What we're talking about, it can start to affect every area of
- 1:38your life when it starts to show up.
- 1:41And controlling these stories and putting these stories in the
- 1:44perspective and realizing that we're making things up is part
- 1:49of growth. It's part of awareness, it's
- 1:51part of self development. And recognizing that we don't
- 1:55know what we don't know, so we can't make what we think we know
- 1:59the word meaning. We're no question.
- 2:02This is it. I know this to be true, and we
- 2:04stick with it because it's silly.
- 2:06It's not. It's not real, and we don't know
- 2:08for a fact, but we treat it as if it's real.
- 2:11And then before you know it, before anything, you're acting
- 2:14as if you you know everything for a fact and you don't.
- 2:19How does this affect the people around us?
- 2:21Well guess what? We start talking about those
- 2:24things. The more we talk about them, the
- 2:26more we pretend they're real. And in our quest to pretend that
- 2:30they're real, one we start manifesting things and you know
- 2:34it's a a self fulfilling prophecy.
- 2:38Even though the bad thing hasn't happened, we start thinking
- 2:41about it so much and talking about it so much and obsessing
- 2:44on it so much that we essentially start to make those
- 2:46bad things happen. And we don't want to do that.
- 2:50But it's kind of this weird scenario.
- 2:52It's how the the human mind works.
- 2:55The magnetism of our thoughts become the the script that's
- 3:00writing out what's happening for us.
- 3:02So First things first, you got to recognize when you're making
- 3:06up stories and you got to recognize that they're not
- 3:08helpful, they're not working for you, and you've got to put a
- 3:11stop to it. But the first thing is
- 3:13recognizing I'm making up stuff and I don't know for sure.
- 3:18And you've got to get out of the future pacing, and you've got to
- 3:21bring yourself back and stay in the moment.
- 3:23Focus on what's around you. Focus like right now.
- 3:26I could tell you. I could say, OK, I'm opening the
- 3:28doors for the girls. They're all wandering around.
- 3:30They're all sitting here looking for their food this morning.
- 3:34They're all picking their spots. They're all running back and
- 3:37forth with their treats. I could just focus on what's
- 3:40around me, focus on the early morning sounds and bugs, all of
- 3:44that. I don't have to focus on
- 3:46wondering what disaster is coming my way today, or who's
- 3:49saying what about me, or thinking through all of these
- 3:53possible detrimental scenarios that I've painted in my head.
- 3:59It's learning to argue for your greatness and not your
- 4:02limitations and you've heard me say that before, but this is
- 4:05what happens and this is how our brains go and then we end up
- 4:08messing ourselves up in the process.
- 4:11So I want to challenge you to go in and 1st figure out the toxic
- 4:16focus that keeps showing up and how you keep having these
- 4:21made-up scenarios. Then challenge you to say, you
- 4:24know what, I'm going to release this.
- 4:26I'm not going to focus on this. I'm going to focus on being in
- 4:29the moment. And when the bad things start to
- 4:32weed their way back into my head, I'm going to say no.
- 4:35I'm focused on being in the moment.
- 4:37I'm focused on being right here. I'm focused on the happy stuff.
- 4:40I'm focused on what I need to focus on to be.
- 4:43Happy. And I'm not going to allow
- 4:45myself to go down the other Rd. because it doesn't work.
- 4:49It's a simple path. It's a simple way to start, but
- 4:52it's absolutely necessary. So you can continue to obsess on
- 4:57the wrong things, or you can continue to obsess on the right
- 5:00things. So this is the difference
- 5:01between wrong thinking and right thinking.
- 5:03And I'm going to tell you today to challenge yourself to think
- 5:06right thinking. So I hope you guys have a
- 5:09blessed day. I hope you think about this and
- 5:11give yourself the break and don't manifest stuff that you
- 5:16don't want to have happen by running your brain in the wrong
- 5:19direction. And I will see you all tomorrow.
- 5:22Bye.
