- 1:53Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please?
- 2:01The show starts in 587654321 Go. The.
- 9:16The. Hello there everyone.
- 9:48Welcome to the Proverbs Guys Ministries Network.
- 9:52This is GOD TV Radio. I'm TTOR, and this is Brett
- 9:56Keene. Say hello, Brett.
- 9:58Weather. This is the first time I've done
- 10:04one of these shows using Eve Mucks, which is something that I
- 10:08had trouble connecting to for a while.
- 10:10But the problem has since been resolved and well, here we are.
- 10:14And I got a doozy of a stream for you, and I'm sure Brett will
- 10:18make it even more entertaining. Today we're going to actually be
- 10:22responding to something that I had originally planned on doing
- 10:27as a video on my own channel. Then I thought, you know, this
- 10:31might make a better live stream topic.
- 10:32So here we are. Today I of course am talking
- 10:37about Sarah Stock. And in case you don't know who
- 10:40Sarah Stock is, I will give you the brief rundown of who she is
- 10:46by using the magical power of screen sharing.
- 10:51OK, what is it telling me? OK, I'll just add that scene and
- 10:57remove us from the screen. Why does it say no connection
- 17:52for you? Oh, well, if you wouldn't mind,
- 18:00because obviously there's going to be folks out there listening
- 18:03and all that. Would you like to go into a
- 18:05little bit of would you like to go into a little bit of detail
- 18:08explaining why it is about what your issues are with
- 18:12Catholicism? Because I know I've heard a lot
- 18:14of videos where people have been interested in that.
- 18:17Would you like to explain to the audience why you have issue with
- 18:20Catholicism? Yeah, I'm going to do that, but
- 18:25I'm just trying to set up the scene right now for screen
- 18:29sharing. Steven left us again.
- 18:31Yes, Steven has terrible Internet connections.
- 18:37Yeah, So do I. Wait, where is my?
- 18:40Here it is now. I'm going to try this little
- 18:43one. Put this here.
- 18:46Actually, let's try this one. There we go.
- 18:49All right, now let's get back to where I was.
- 18:52But yeah, you're asking about that.
- 18:54I am going to get into those reasons.
- 18:56Why? Because she brings them up in
- 18:57later points. But where was I?
- 19:02So yeah, I was talking about how the claim about their being
- 19:04found as the denominations wasn't true.
- 19:07The documents of the Bible were written back in, not the Bible,
- 19:10but the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and the
- 19:12entire New Testament were all written in 70 AD or prior to 70
- 19:18AD in the 1st century, which I've talked about in the past
- 19:21content of mine. And therefore the entire New
- 19:27Testament, even though it hadn't been gathered into one
- 19:29collection until way later, was all written back in the 1st
- 19:34century. So the faith that I hold to,
- 19:37which is faith in the biblical worldview, which means I adhere
- 19:41to the Gospels, I adhere to the New Testament, I here to the Old
- 19:44Testament. That faith precedes Roman
- 19:47Catholicism by a couple centuries.
- 19:50So even that part of what she said is not true because Roman
- 19:53Catholicism, big hint, doesn't go back that.
- 19:58Far so I got, I got a couple questions for you TTOR and this
- 20:02is for the audience as well, because not everybody out there
- 20:06may know who this woman is, Why is she important and why are we
- 20:11bothering with her? What is her deal?
- 20:13Explain a little bit please. Well, as I mentioned earlier in
- 20:17the stream, she is a popular as far as her Rise content creator
- 20:23who primarily uses Twitter, and she basically says a lot of
- 20:27things that people want to hear regarding conservative issues
- 20:30like abortion and transgenderism and all that stuff.
- 20:34But the recent shift to Roman Catholicism and her reasoning
- 20:39for doing so, which we're going through here, indicates that not
- 20:43all is right in her brain as far as the way she thinks about
- 20:46things. Which is a scary thought.
- 20:48Because when you're someone who has horrific bad reasoning for
- 20:53believing what you believe, and you're popular and your
- 20:56platforms getting bigger and thousands upon thousands upon
- 21:00thousands of people at the minimum look to you as a beacon
- 21:04of truth or someone who stands on the truth, well, this kind of
- 21:09thing has to be brought up because you don't want to follow
- 21:12someone who, well, reasons like she does.
- 21:18I mean, if she was a man making all the same points and that man
- 21:23was rising in popularity, I'd be doing the same thing here.
- 21:26Right, I totally agree with you on that.
- 21:29I understand. And you've been more than happy
- 21:31to lay up the smack down their men on your YouTube channel, TTR
- 21:35Truth. The Objectivity.
- 21:37But why? Why does it seem like she's
- 21:40getting popular? What is this?
- 21:42Is she woke or something like a woke former Protestant?
- 21:48I don't think she's a former liberal, but I know that she's
- 21:54just getting popular and I'm not sure how much of it is
- 21:58astroturfed by the establishment or if it's organic or if there's
- 22:03bots being used. All I know is she's growing in
- 22:06popularity. She gets a lot of engagement on
- 22:08her posts. I see her all the time in my
- 22:10feeds. And she?
- 22:12Put this out. It depends on how you rate
- 22:17attractive. Is she ugly?
- 22:19No. Is she kind of cute?
- 22:22Yeah, you can argue that. But is she like the model?
- 22:25No. There you go, I.
- 22:27Mean I don't even care about. That's that's the point, TTR.
- 22:30That's probably why she's getting popular.
- 22:33The the nerds and geeks out there who love social media,
- 22:36they always attach themselves to even plain looking women.
- 22:41So that's probably why she's blowing up like she is.
- 22:43But go ahead. Now the other thing she said in
- 22:47point number one that I found interesting was when she claimed
- 22:50that instead of only getting to read about the miracles recorded
- 22:53in the Bible, she got to learn about how God has worked on
- 22:56earth many years after the ascension.
- 22:58Now I know in my own personal life and I would be interested
- 23:01in hearing if you have any fun stories about this, Brett, I
- 23:05have heard all kinds of testimony about miracles that
- 23:09have occurred in people's lives. Bonafide miracles that have
- 23:13occurred in the last 30-40 years older, you know, miracles dating
- 23:18back to the childhood of my father that happened in his
- 23:21life. So the concept of miracles
- 23:24happening in the years since the ascension, it's something that
- 23:28people like me and people like my brethren in my communities of
- 23:33the faith, we've never been bothered by hearing about
- 23:37miracles that have occurred since the ones that were
- 23:40recorded in Scripture. So I don't know where, I don't
- 23:43know where she's getting this idea that Protestants limit
- 23:46themselves to only accepting the miracles that are recorded in
- 23:50the Bible. It's odd.
- 23:52It was odd. Before I get where she's going.
- 23:54Before I came in here, TTORI was literally listening to the
- 23:58testimony of another really cool Christian guy and he talked
- 24:02about some of the great things and experiences God did in his
- 24:06life. So I don't know what she's
- 24:08talking about either. I just 10 minutes ago listened
- 24:11to a fantastic testimony. And avid I no, I might be
- 24:16putting words in your mouth. I hope I'm not, but when you've
- 24:20been in churches in the past in your life, and when you've seen,
- 24:24you know, Christians on the Internet talking about stuff, is
- 24:27it fairly common for you to hear other Christians talking about
- 24:32miracles that occurred in their lives, which is like the last
- 24:36few decades, within the last 100 years?
- 24:39TTR have been the many different denominations of Christianity
- 24:42due to growing up in foster homes and in every single church
- 24:47I ever went into, testimonies was something that you could not
- 24:51get around. You would hear at least 5 to 10
- 24:54of them before you left church service.
- 24:56So it is a common practice that people share their stories and
- 25:01the experiences they've had in their life.
- 25:03Go ahead. That's very good insight you had
- 25:08there, Brett, and a good ending to point number one point #2 she
- 25:12brings up clarity on key issues, and this is what she writes.
- 25:16One of the things that have always one of the things that
- 25:19always bothered me as a Protestant was that sometimes I
- 25:23had very specific questions about theology that no one
- 25:26seemed to have a solid answer to.
- 25:28When your only source of authority is the Bible, which is
- 25:32up to interpretation from just anyone, it's hard to answer
- 25:35questions about issues like is smoking a cigarette or getting a
- 25:39tattoo a sin, or is it wrong to use contraception within
- 25:43marriage? Even worse, some modern churches
- 25:46refuse to give moral clarity on even bigger issues such as
- 25:50abortion or transgenderism. The great thing about the
- 25:54Catechism, which is referring to the Catechism of the Catholic
- 25:58Church, which I'm actually going to look at a couple of passages
- 26:01in that today, is that there is a solid doctrine on a wide range
- 26:05of moral issues. The moment when I realized the
- 26:08value in this was when I received a pamphlet for
- 26:11examination of consciousness or conscience.
- 26:15I realized that the Catholic Church not only provided clarity
- 26:18on what deeds are considered sins, but also on how serious
- 26:22those sins are in the specific conditions required for a sin to
- 26:25be considered mortal. So Grey, they gave you a
- 26:29pamphlet explained to you how some sins are worse than others,
- 26:33and some sins, if you commit them, oh boy, you better go
- 26:36confess to a priest right now. But other sins that you commit,
- 26:39ah, you can wait till next week to deal with that.
- 26:42No big deal. That's something that
- 26:46Catholicism is notorious for teaching as a concept that
- 26:50people have been making fun of for time and memoriam, and it
- 26:54doesn't take much thought to understand why that's a a
- 26:57problematic idea that they have. But the thing she says in the
- 27:02first paragraph of that section about how well, your only
- 27:06sources of authority is the Bible, and that's bad because,
- 27:10well, the Bible's up to interpretation from just about
- 27:13anyone. That shows, at least to me,
- 27:17Brett, that the Bible 1 is not the ultimate authority in her
- 27:22life. And two, she apparently thinks
- 27:24that the Bible is so unclear and basically everything it says
- 27:29that basically anyone can interpret it any old way they
- 27:33want. Now, it is true that there are
- 27:37passages in the Bible that are hard to interpret.
- 27:40It is true that there are people who will twist and manipulate
- 27:44the Bible to make it seem like it's justifying the things they
- 27:48want to do and say. But I think any serious
- 27:52Christian apologist would be able to show you, and I
- 27:54certainly could, that the Bible is crystal clear on a much wider
- 28:00variety of issues than you would actually think at first glance.
- 28:05The Bible, when read in a straightforward and contextual
- 28:09manner and not reinterpreted in light of anything else, is
- 28:13crystal clear about a wide variety of topics.
- 28:17There are even some passages that seem to indicate that, yes,
- 28:21getting a tattoo is a sin. Smoking a cigarette is not one
- 28:25of those things that's confirmed as a sin by the Bible.
- 28:29And the idea of using contraception within marriage,
- 28:32That's more of a modern issue that wasn't being dealt with
- 28:35back when the Bible documents were written in Old Testament
- 28:39times and New Testament times. But as far as well, some modern
- 28:44churches refused to give moral clarity on even bigger issues
- 28:48such as abortion and transgenderism.
- 28:51Well, if you read the Bible, you'll realize that basically
- 28:53right after Jesus ascended to heaven, all kinds of people who
- 28:57called themselves Christians were compromising on all kinds
- 29:01of moral issues, including incest and some very sick,
- 29:05disturbing cases. And Paul kind of reamed into
- 29:09those people on that. And I think it was First
- 29:10Corinthians are. You a TTR?
- 29:15Oh, sorry, go ahead. I was just going to say that the
- 29:21Bible is very clear on a wide variety of issues and the idea
- 29:24that, well, just anyone can interpret it any old way, it's
- 29:28just plain nonsense. Basically, you're an honest
- 29:31person. I was going to ask you if you're
- 29:33familiar with the story of Luther, not in the Bible, but
- 29:36the story, the history of Luther.
- 29:39Martin Luther. Yeah.
- 29:42And the feces he nailed to the the door of the Catholic Church.
- 29:47Well, he had, he had some disturbing things that he did,
- 29:50but he was one of the the Catholic Church at the time.
- 29:54Historically, for those who don't know, they didn't want to
- 29:57allow people to actually read the Bible.
- 30:00They wanted to be the ones reading it off and interpret it
- 30:03the way they like. And humans were forced to listen
- 30:07to their thought process and the Bible.
- 30:10So they didn't even know if they were here in the Bible some days
- 30:13because they couldn't look at it or read it themselves.
- 30:16For hundreds of years they did that.
- 30:19They kept the Bible away from people and the common peasant
- 30:23wasn't able to read it. If it wasn't for Luther, who
- 30:27fought for it to be able to be transcribed to where people
- 30:30could look at it from German to English and all that, a lot of
- 30:35people nowadays would be in a really, really bad way.
- 30:41Yeah, well, I don't think it was just Luther that was part of
- 30:44that. There were other priests who
- 30:46were instrumental and the Bible getting translated from Latin to
- 30:50English, which was huge because up until that point, they didn't
- 30:55have the Bible in the common tongue of the people, which was
- 30:58English. You had to know Latin to be able
- 30:59to read and understand it. And so that gave the Catholic
- 31:02Church a lot of power because basically they were the only
- 31:05ones who could read it. And so therefore they could
- 31:08basically get away with lying to people about what it said.
- 31:11And so once the Bible started being translated into the common
- 31:15tongue and people could read it for themselves, they began to
- 31:18realize just how royally screwed over they were by the church.
- 31:22And so that's when a lot of the resistance to the Catholic
- 31:25Church really took off. And that's what the point that
- 31:28Brett was getting that was that. They also, yeah.
- 31:31It's a very good point to bring up.
- 31:33The Catholic Church ended up taking a lot of people's
- 31:35property and lands from them as well back then and they would
- 31:39convince people to will over all of their property instead of to
- 31:43their the inherited children and families.
- 31:46So that's one of the reasons why I that's a bad check mark off
- 31:50for Catholics when it comes to me.
- 31:55Yep, very true. Which leads point #3 is great.
- 32:00Jesus established the church and she writes this.
- 32:05A question that someone asked me back when I had my doubts about
- 32:07Catholicism was do you really think that the early Christians
- 32:11who literally knew Jesus were practicing the faith completely
- 32:14wrong and then we happened to finally get it right 1500 years
- 32:18later? When I started to dig into the
- 32:21history, I soon realized that the 12 apostles were all
- 32:25Catholics. Peter was the first Pope.
- 32:28Oh I can't read that straight face.
- 32:31Roman Catholicism, Think about that name didn't exist until the
- 32:36Romans stopped persecuting Christians and then integrated
- 32:41their Pagan views into Christianity, creating a hybrid
- 32:45religion that you just converted to Sarah.
- 32:49But yeah, they were not all Catholics.
- 32:52Doesn't Sarah know how? I guess Sarah doesn't know how
- 32:55Peter was killed. Exactly.
- 33:00I soon realized that the 12 apostles were all Catholics and
- 33:03Peter was the first Pope. In Matthew 1618, Jesus tells
- 33:06Peter you are Peter. And on this rock I will build my
- 33:09church in the gates of the nether world will not prevail
- 33:11against it through Apostolic Apostolic succession.
- 33:17Every priest alive today has been blessed by Jesus.
- 33:21Does that include the pedophile ones?
- 33:26Serious question, Sarah, does that include the pedophile
- 33:29priests? Were they all blessed by Jesus
- 33:31too when they were diddling little kids and then getting
- 33:34shopped around from Catholic Church to Catholic Church
- 33:37instead of being dealt with for being the scumbags that they
- 33:40were? I mean, that's a popular thing
- 33:42that people know about Catholicism is the pedophile
- 33:45priests. Now the Catholic Church, instead
- 33:47of putting it out and dealing with it, well, they just shuffle
- 33:51it off to the side and let the offender go offending in other
- 33:54places instead of actually dealing with them.
- 33:57That's one of the other things the Catholic Church is well
- 34:00known for. So for you, Sarah, to come out
- 34:03and say that every priest alive today has been blessed by Jesus,
- 34:09that's not a good look for you. It shows that you're very
- 34:14ignorant of the history of the Roman Catholic Church.
- 34:19But she does continue on. Not only that, but the word
- 34:22Catholic, which just means universal.
- 34:25Oh, finally someone admits that its first recorded use by Saint
- 34:29Ignatius of Antioch and only 110 AD.
- 34:32We have plenty of historical records of the early Church that
- 34:35proved that they believe in transubstantiation and the
- 34:39veneration of Mary. It became clear to me that the
- 34:41faith I was practicing was very different from the one that the
- 34:45earliest Christians did, and I realized that their authority
- 34:48and interpretation of the Bible held more weight than mine.
- 34:52So in other words, what she's admitting here is that the early
- 34:55church fathers and how they interpreted Scripture holds more
- 34:59weights than her when it comes to interpreting the Bible.
- 35:04Course, the problem I have with that is that as someone who
- 35:07actually has studied a bit of those early church fathers and
- 35:10some of the things they taught is that they didn't always get
- 35:14things right when it came to the Scriptures.
- 35:18And that's a serious problem that a lot of people, apparently
- 35:21including Sarah, have. They think, well, early church
- 35:23fathers were so close to the time of the events of the New
- 35:27Testament, they even knew some of the apostles while they were
- 35:30still alive. So obviously their
- 35:33interpretation of the Scripture must be valid and we must
- 35:36elevate it to a position of authority.
- 35:39Problem with that is that we can read what they wrote and we can
- 35:43compare it to the Bible and some of the things they taught were
- 35:46wrong, especially a lot of the ones who taught replacement
- 35:52theology of various degrees. They were horrendously wrong
- 35:56about that one. The anti-Semitic attitudes that
- 36:00a lot of those Christians had back in that time frame because
- 36:03well, the Jews killed Jesus and so we got to make them pay.
- 36:08That was wrong, very wrong of them to do according to the
- 36:12Scriptures. So the idea that we must elevate
- 36:17the early church fathers in terms of authority regarding
- 36:20their interpretation of the Bible and that, well, we
- 36:23shouldn't evaluate whether or not their interpretation is
- 36:26correct, that's bad. That's how you get sold a
- 36:29bridge, if you know what I'm saying.
- 36:32Point #4 that she brought up was an interesting one.
- 36:37It's common sense that practicing spiritual disciplines
- 36:40such as reading scripture, spending time and prayer, and
- 36:45fasting would bring you closer to God and deepen your faith.
- 36:48Throughout my walk with God, I've realized that it's very
- 36:50easy to lose sight of my beliefs and fall into sin unless I'm
- 36:54regularly incorporating these spiritual disciplines in my
- 36:57life. However, because of a strong
- 37:00emphasis on faith overworks and Protestant circles, uh, I was
- 37:05never given the social pressure or requirement to do these
- 37:09things, and any spiritual habits had to be done by sheer force of
- 37:13will. In the Catholic Church,
- 37:15confessing your sins isn't an option, it's a requirement.
- 37:19The same is true of fasting on specific days and attending Mass
- 37:23on the Sabbath. Knowing myself, and that's
- 37:25difficult for me to keep up a routine without feeling like I
- 37:28have to do so, the requirement to practice these disciplines
- 37:33was a huge appeal. Oh, goodness, Brett, I just
- 37:37heard I want to earn my salvation through works instead
- 37:41of faith. That's what I heard through
- 37:44that. And now she gouches into the
- 37:47well, I need the discipline in my life that this brings me.
- 37:50But that's really what she's saying.
- 37:52Like, well, you know, I can't just, you know, do these things
- 37:54to walk in sanctification. I need my faith to require me to
- 37:58do these things. And so that Roman Catholicism
- 38:02really appeared to appeal to her on that level.
- 38:06And of course, if you're someone watching this live stream,
- 38:09either live or after the fact, and you happen to know your
- 38:12Bible, you know that the New Testament makes it clear that
- 38:16you can never earn your way to salvation.
- 38:19In fact, in Isaiah chapter, I think it's 60 verse 60
- 38:23something, there's a passage that talks about how the good
- 38:26works we do are nothing but filthy rags to the Lord.
- 38:30Basically if you study the Hebrew language that the filthy
- 38:34rags is more accurately understood as like menstrual
- 38:37pets. So yeah, our good works that we
- 38:43do mean nothing to God if we are not in right standing with them.
- 38:48So it seems to me that the faith and being in right standing with
- 38:51God is actually more important than the works themselves, and
- 38:57that the works according to the New Testament are merely a fruit
- 39:01of your proper faith and your right relationship with God.
- 39:05If your relationship with God is right, well, then naturally you
- 39:08will do good works. It'll be one of the fruits of
- 39:11your salvation. But Roman Catholics put works
- 39:16basically right in there with salvation.
- 39:18Like you have to do these things, which biblically
- 39:22speaking is not accurate at all, contradicts the Bible, gives me
- 39:26a headache that someone who claims to know the Bible or have
- 39:30studied the Bible could ever fall for something like this.
- 39:34It's like one of the most basic, fundamental things that you can
- 39:38learn in the Bible just by a cursory study.
- 39:41And yet she fell for it. Apparently she just has to be
- 39:45required to do all these things in order to have a saving
- 39:48spiritual relationship with God, to be close to God.
- 39:53She just, she has to do things and she wants her religion to
- 39:56require them of her now #5 is a kind of vain, but we'll go right
- 40:03into it. It's it's called transcendence
- 40:06and beauty. It's stereotypical to say, but
- 40:10many modern Protestant churches do in fact feel like a rock
- 40:14concert. Songs can be fun and catchy, and
- 40:17the pastors are very entertaining, but it can seem a
- 40:19little bit unserious. When I attend Mass, there is an
- 40:23air of solemn slimity, can't say that word right, and reverence
- 40:27that helps me to remember to put all my focus on God.
- 40:31The music doesn't sound like something I would hear on the
- 40:33radio or in a shopping mall, but like something that angels would
- 40:36sing instead of holding services in a gym or a movie theater.
- 40:41Catholic parishes are their own buildings set apart, holy for
- 40:45worshiping Christ. Although there is a wide range
- 40:48in Catholic Church architecture of some parishes being more
- 40:51beautiful than others, there's something to be said about the
- 40:53aesthetics of Catholic churches and how they aim to reflect the
- 40:56beauty of the Creator while also affirming the truth that beauty
- 41:00in itself is an objective good. Now that I have attended
- 41:04Catholic Mass, stepping into a Protestant church feels much
- 41:07less like church and more like a fun Bible study slash concert.
- 41:14So it seems like she's taken away by the appearance of
- 41:19things. Catholic churches have such
- 41:22beautiful architecture. Truly, there's something holy
- 41:25about that. And yet such a place also makes
- 41:30the perfect cover for the practice of really horrible
- 41:33sins. Once again, visit pedophile
- 41:36priests. I don't know how she's not.
- 41:40Talking about that at all, or even thinking about that one,
- 41:45but apparently she was sold the hook.
- 41:50Now this next one. Point #6 is where she talks
- 41:53about unity and community. It's embarrassing to admit, but
- 41:58I was attending Mass for a few months before I learned that
- 42:01every single Catholic Church reads the same Bible passage
- 42:04every Sunday. This blew my mind.
- 42:07It was so cool to realize that every Catholic in the world had
- 42:11all heard the same verses as me that week.
- 42:14It felt like I was suddenly a part of a giant unified
- 42:18community of believers. When I started to look into the
- 42:22faith a year ago, it felt as though God was nudging me by
- 42:25placing so many Catholics in my path.
- 42:28While I hardly knew any Catholics before, suddenly many
- 42:31of the people I was closest to were all practicing ones, as
- 42:35were many acquaintances who were happy to talk about their faith
- 42:38with me and let me know that they would be praying for my
- 42:41conversion. None of the Catholics that I met
- 42:43were judgmental and all were happy to answer the questions
- 42:46that I had. Well, obviously you have not
- 42:49been on the Internet long enough to run into the Catholics that
- 42:53are judgmental. But that point aside, her claim
- 42:56in the first paragraph that every single Catholic Church
- 42:59reads the same Bible passage every Sunday and therefore every
- 43:03Catholic in the world hears the same verses as her every single
- 43:07week that she attends mass? I find that one a little hard to
- 43:11believe. That requires a lot of
- 43:13communication between all the Catholics in the world.
- 43:17And notice what she's saying. So if you have like this church,
- 43:22you know, over here that says that, Oh yeah, we're, we're
- 43:26talking about Acts chapter 17 today.
- 43:28And then you got another church just down the road where they're
- 43:31talking about, you know, the Gospels.
- 43:34They're talking about what Jesus did with various miracles.
- 43:37Or you have another church that's just on the other side of
- 43:40town talking about stuff in the letters that Paul wrote.
- 43:43Or you have another church also on the other side of town that's
- 43:46talking about Old Testament stuff.
- 43:48So apparently the fact that different churches talk about
- 43:52different parts of the Bible on the same day is somehow a bad
- 43:56thing. But every single Catholic Church
- 43:59on planet earth talking about the same Bible passages verbatim
- 44:04every single Sunday of the week somehow that's good.
- 44:09I don't know, that seems like hive mind group think kind of
- 44:13stuff to me because when I read the Bible, God kind of leads
- 44:18different people into different paths and different journeys in
- 44:22their life. Like you go in the Old Testament
- 44:24and you read about Moses and the Israelites and how all the
- 44:28elders were supposed to go on the mountain and basically God
- 44:31was going to put his Spirit on all of them.
- 44:34But some of the Israelites who were supposed to go up there,
- 44:37they chose to stay behind at the camp.
- 44:40And yet the Holy Spirit came on them just like it came on all
- 44:43the guys at the mountain. And then when they start
- 44:46speaking in the Spirit in the camp, the ones who are on the
- 44:48mountain told Moses to tell them to stop doing that.
- 44:52And Moses said no, he said the same.
- 44:55Thing as Jesus did. That basically, you know,
- 44:57they're doing what God has put on them and put in their hearts.
- 45:00I'm not going to stop them so the.
- 45:03Idea that. Having this uniformity of
- 45:06scriptures being read every Sunday in every Catholic Church
- 45:10is a good thing, and that different churches talking about
- 45:12different parts of the Bible on the same Sunday is a bad thing
- 45:16when Protestants do it apparently.
- 45:19I don't understand. How that could possibly be a bad
- 45:22thing, or how the way Catholicism does it somehow
- 45:26makes it better? I just maybe Brett can enlighten
- 45:29me because frankly my mind is blown.
- 45:31I don't even know how to comprehend that even though I've
- 45:35read this like 5 times by now. Well, the issue is.
- 45:40Is, I don't know the woman obviously, as well as you.
- 45:43You've done a lot of research and study on her.
- 45:46So I feel kind of awkward and uncomfortable to be able to go
- 45:50at her. I'm can sit here all day and
- 45:53tell you my disagreements with Catholicism and the Church and
- 45:57all that, but I'm still in a funny position.
- 46:00As you know, TTOR, I've only been a theist for, you know,
- 46:05some amount of years where you've been doing the faith for
- 46:07a very long time. So you're more knowledgeable on
- 46:10this. Do you believe that a Catholic,
- 46:13if they accept Jesus Christ and he resurrected 3 days later,
- 46:16they're going to heaven? What's your thoughts on that?
- 46:22Someone who is a. Catholic, if they can read the
- 46:25Bible in the manner that it's supposed to be read in, and they
- 46:29understand what it's teaching and they submit to Jesus in the
- 46:33way that the Bible describes, yes, they can be saved.
- 46:38It's when they start getting poisoned by the other things
- 46:41Catholicism teaches that can really affect them.
- 46:45And that's where they are in real danger when they're part of
- 46:47the Catholic Church. There are many people like that
- 46:51who ended up having to leave the Catholic Church because they
- 46:54realized, wow, the Bible says one thing, I believe the Bible,
- 46:59I believe in Jesus, but these other things that Catholicism
- 47:03requires of me are just so antithetical to Jesus and the
- 47:06Bible that I can't be in this anymore.
- 47:08And so they leave Catholicism, they become Protestants or
- 47:11Baptists or non denominational. Fill in the blank, they become
- 47:14something else. There have been many Christians
- 47:17over time that have left Catholicism because they had a
- 47:21personal saving relationship with Jesus while they were in
- 47:24the Catholic faith. And then their eyes were open
- 47:27later on to what the Catholic faith really teaches.
- 47:30And so they were forced to leave in order to be true in their
- 47:35relationship with Jesus and to be true to what they read in the
- 47:37Bible. So lots of people over time
- 47:40could tell you that, yeah, I was a Catholic when I first got
- 47:43saved. But then once I realized what I
- 47:45was in, I got out. But you, you.
- 47:50You were. A Catholic before all that.
- 47:54No, I was never a Catholic. Oh, I thought you said you.
- 47:57Were a Catholic and then when I figured it all out I got out of
- 48:00it all right Oh, I was saying I. Was talking about there are a
- 48:04lot of people out there who are like that who have found
- 48:06themselves in that situation. So the answer is yes, someone
- 48:11who's a Catholic can be saved, but there's also a really good
- 48:15possibility that they're allegiance to God and the Bible
- 48:19over everything else will lead them out of Catholicism if they
- 48:23don't get, you know, their minds twisted by the traditions of
- 48:26Catholicism. Speaking of those traditions,
- 48:29though, here's the one that I have things to say.
- 48:31We actually get into the cataclysm of the Catholic Church
- 48:36on this one. The veneration of Mary
- 48:41journeying into Catholicism has felt in some ways like I'm
- 48:44rediscovering Christianity by once again seeing how I did as a
- 48:48child. When I was a kid I remember
- 48:51thinking of Mary as a main character in the Bible, only
- 48:54second to Jesus in importance. Never thought that once, but OK.
- 48:59This felt obvious to me as she carried him in her womb and was
- 49:02present at his crucifixion. Mary was the most sought after
- 49:06part to play in the annual Christmas pageant and I knew
- 49:08that because of her proximity to Christ, she was someone special.
- 49:13Remembering this helped make asking for intercession from
- 49:16Mary feel much more natural than I thought it would.
- 49:19Wait, wait, wait. So you're admitting that you're
- 49:21asking Mary to intercede for you and that stuff only God does?
- 49:26Just saying when I let go of. May I ask you a question about?
- 49:31Something because I I've learned a lot from you as well with your
- 49:34knowledge of the Bible and religion, But isn't it believed,
- 49:38at least by the Protestants, that when a majority of the
- 49:41human race are, when people die, they remain dead until God
- 49:47returns to bring them up, right? Yeah, there's a special.
- 49:53Place that basically serves as a holding cell until the final
- 49:57judgment comes, and basically this holds.
- 50:00Her asleep. When Jesus healed that little
- 50:03girl, he said she's not Garn, she's simply asleep.
- 50:07Like she's in a dream. Like state type of thing.
- 50:10Well if that's the case, Mary was a biological human being.
- 50:14Shouldn't she still be awaiting the the return of Jesus Christ?
- 50:20Because I don't remember reading in the Bible where she ascended
- 50:24into heaven with with Jesus. Do you make?
- 50:28Yeah, we're going to. Yeah, you bring up a good point
- 50:31because we're about to get into that very thing.
- 50:33So I'll keep reading the next paragraph and then we'll
- 50:36actually get into what you're just referring to.
- 50:40She says when I let go of some of the Protestant prejudice
- 50:44prejudices I had towards her and dug into the scripture fueled
- 50:48Catholic explanations for intercession, it felt as though
- 50:51I had been missing out on something big for my entire
- 50:54faith life. Praying the rosary was not
- 50:56boring like I thought it would be, but deeply spiritually
- 50:59fulfilling and meditative. It also brought discipline to my
- 51:02prayer life, as it ensured that I prayed for a specific amount
- 51:06of time without distraction. All right, now let's get into
- 51:09the part about this veneration of Mary that she didn't get
- 51:12into. That's very inconvenient.
- 51:15Now I have. Oh, yeah, here we go.
- 51:20So. We have the Catechism.
- 51:22Of the Catholic Church right here on screen from the official
- 51:25Vatican website and in 966, which is, if I can highlight it
- 51:31here on the screen right here it reads finally the Immaculate
- 51:37Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the
- 51:42course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up bodily
- 51:46body and soul into heavenly glory and exalted by the Lord as
- 51:50Queen over all things so that she might be more fully
- 51:54conformed to her Son, the Lord of Lords and conqueror of sin
- 51:59and death. So in this little passage, the
- 52:03Catechism of the Catholic Church literally claims that Mary was
- 52:08sinless and that she ascended bodily into heaven, just like
- 52:14Elijah and Enoch did in the Old Testament.
- 52:18Now there's a fun little article I came across a few years ago
- 52:21that actually made a stunning admission about these this
- 52:25passage. So we have here from the
- 52:28Catholic Company, which is a Catholic apologetics website.
- 52:33Technically they also sell stuff too, but they have this article
- 52:38on their website called What the Catholic Church Teaches About
- 52:42Mary, and I'm going to read. I'm going.
- 52:46To read a few paragraphs so that.
- 52:48People get a fuller idea of this doctrine that we just saw in the
- 52:51Catechism of the Catholic Church, but then we're going to
- 52:53get to the part where they spill the beans.
- 52:57When it comes to the Catholic Church.
- 52:59'S teaching on Mary. Many of our non Catholic
- 53:01brothers and sisters find the position Catholics hold
- 53:04regarding Mary difficult to accept, namely the Immaculate
- 53:08Conception, Mary is Mother of God and the Assumption of Mary
- 53:12into Heaven and her coordination as Queen.
- 53:15However, this difficulty mainly stems from a lack of
- 53:19understanding. The Catholic Church firmly
- 53:21believes that Mary was immaculately conceived.
- 53:24Since God rejects all sin and the purpose of Christ's
- 53:26incarnation was to release man from the grasp of Satan, it was
- 53:30not suitable that our Redeemer be personally associated with
- 53:32sin. That means that unlike the
- 53:34original sin that we as humans inherit at the moment of
- 53:37conception, Mary was exempt from this sin and in like manner was
- 53:40not subject to sin throughout her life.
- 53:43And Luke 128 the Angel Gabriel addresses Mary hail full of
- 53:47grace. The fullness of grace would not
- 53:49have been hers had she had any stain of sin in the apostolis.
- 53:53Apostolic Constitution. By Pope.
- 53:57Pius, I can't pronounce that Roman numeral on the Immaculate
- 54:00Conception. He reiterates this teaching all
- 54:04right above. All creatures did.
- 54:05God, oh, I was going to say. I was going to say something
- 54:09real quick and grok for those out there who have ex social
- 54:13media you can use the AI and I asked it I said does the Bible
- 54:18at any time and this thing has full knowledge of every version
- 54:21of the Bible. It says that the Bible states in
- 54:25Roman 323 that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
- 54:28God, indicating that no human is without sin.
- 54:33And also reinforced in first John chapter one verse 8, we say
- 54:37we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not
- 54:40in US. Even the most righteous like
- 54:43David or Moses are shown to have sinned at points in their life.
- 54:46So in Hebrew 415. The point I'm putting out there
- 54:50is I want to remind people that whatever the Catholics have said
- 54:54about people being Saints and without sin and all that, that
- 54:58is not what Jesus taught. Yes, you are absolutely correct.
- 55:03I am glad you asked Grok about that and brought it up.
- 55:07And it's also going to show that the part that we're getting
- 55:10towards is even more important. But I'm going to finish reading
- 55:13the quotes and then we'll read the paragraph where this whole
- 55:16thing comes apart about Mary. So anyway, this Pope says above
- 55:21all preachers did God so loved her that truly in her was the
- 55:25Father well pleased with singular delight.
- 55:27Therefore, far above all the angels and all the Saints, so
- 55:30wondrously did God endow her with the abundance of all
- 55:33heavenly gifts poured from the treasury of His Divinity, that
- 55:36His Mother, that this Mother, ever absolutely free of
- 55:39Allstate, of sin, all fair and perfect, would possess that
- 55:43fullness of holy innocence and sanctify that which under God
- 55:46one cannot even imagine anything greater, and which, outside of
- 55:49God, no mind can succeed in comprehending fully.
- 55:53The Catholic Church commemorates Mary's Immaculate Conception on
- 55:57December 8th of each year. As we read the Gospels, we see
- 56:00unmistakably that Mary is the mother of Jesus.
- 56:03Well, duh. In the Angel Gabriel's greeting
- 56:05to Mary, he confirms that she will bear the Son of God.
- 56:08In the profession of faith we recite at each Sunday Mass, we
- 56:11proclaim that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity,
- 56:14that he is the true God from true God.
- 56:16Therefore, if Jesus is God, we must gather that Mary, the one
- 56:19who gave birth to and nurtured Jesus, is the Mother of God who
- 56:22became man, Jesus. There is no other human to whom
- 56:26Jesus was as closely and intimately connected as his
- 56:29mother Mary. Now, this is the part of those
- 56:32of you watching where you realize where this all comes
- 56:35from and why Catholics don't care about what Brent just
- 56:39brought up The Catholic. Church relies.
- 56:42Heavily on Sacred Tradition as passed down from the Apostles
- 56:48and manifested in the teaching authority of the Church.
- 56:51The Assumption of Mary is 1 doctrine of the Church that has
- 56:55emerged from Apostolic tradition rather than directly from
- 56:59Scripture. In other words, none of this
- 57:03crap about Mary being sinless and ascending bodily into
- 57:08heaven, just like Elijah and Enoch and all this stuff about
- 57:12her basically being mediator between US and Jesus, who is
- 57:17supposed to be the only mediator between US and God.
- 57:20All that stuff doesn't come from the Bible at all.
- 57:24It comes from Sacred tradition. And if you know Roman
- 57:27Catholicism, Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture have equal
- 57:33authority, which in practice means that when the two
- 57:36conflict, you set aside the scripture in favor of the
- 57:41tradition which Jesus himself point blank blasted into
- 57:46oblivion as sin and wrong. We see that exactly here in
- 57:51Matthew 15 one through 9, which reads as the following.
- 57:56Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from
- 57:59Jerusalem and asked, why do your disciples break the tradition of
- 58:03the elders? They don't wash their hands
- 58:05before they eat. Jesus replied, and why do you
- 58:09break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
- 58:13For God said, honor your father and mother, and anyone who
- 58:16curses their father or mother is to be put to death.
- 58:19But you say that if anyone declares that what might have
- 58:22been used to help their father or mother is devoted to God,
- 58:25they are not to honor their father or mother with it.
- 58:28Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition,
- 58:33you hypocrites. Isaiah was right when he
- 58:36prophesied about you, these people.
- 58:38Honor me of their. Lips, but their hearts are far
- 58:41from me. They worship me in vain.
- 58:43Their teachings are merely human rules and Catholics today, not
- 58:49just Sarah, but all Catholics today who believe as she does
- 58:53and they do the veneration of Mary thing.
- 58:56They are doing the same thing that the Pharisees and the
- 58:59teachers of the law did in the time of Jesus.
- 59:02They are literally putting tradition on part of scripture,
- 59:05which in practice according to Jesus allows them to set aside
- 59:09the scripture in favor of their tradition.
- 59:12Catholics like Sarah who venerate Mary, they are
- 59:17literally doing the very thing that Jesus himself condemned,
- 59:23mainly putting all these traditions about Mary being the
- 59:26mediatrix between US and Jesus and Mary being omnipresent and
- 59:32interceding for all of our prayers, and her being sinless
- 59:35and bodily ascended to heaven. All of that is human tradition
- 59:42and Catholics are literally setting aside the scriptures for
- 59:46these traditions, which is something Jesus condemned the
- 59:49Pharisees and teachers of the law for doing and he would
- 59:52condemn them today if he was here and observe the Catholics
- 59:55doing these things. And so that's where this whole
- 59:59veneration of Mary thing comes from.
- 1:00:02The deification of Mary that Catholics do comes from it
- 1:00:06literally according to a pro Catholic website, all comes from
- 1:00:11Apostolic tradition and not directly from scripture.
- 1:00:16So anytime you guys watching this live stream are here in the
- 1:00:21Catholics say all this stuff about Mary.
- 1:00:24Keep this in mind, everything they say about her that as far
- 1:00:27as her being omnipresent and making intercession for us,
- 1:00:31being a mediator between us, Jesus and God, and her being
- 1:00:36sinless and being a perpetual virgin and bodily ascending to
- 1:00:41heaven, all that is not scriptural at all.
- 1:00:44It's all tradition that they decided is more authoritative
- 1:00:47than scripture, and they made that decision by making it equal
- 1:00:52in authority with scripture, by calling it Apostolic tradition.
- 1:00:57Just so you guys know that those of you watching the stream.
- 1:01:02But yet that's the veneration of Mary.
- 1:01:04That's definitely the one that's like, oh boy, that's bad.
- 1:01:09But she doesn't stop with the bad arguments point #9 she says
- 1:01:14hierarchy is important and she writes this.
- 1:01:17As many have pointed out, the problem with Sola Scriptura is
- 1:01:20that everyone has a different interpretation of what scripture
- 1:01:24means. The benefit of the Magisterium
- 1:01:26is that there is consistency in the interpretation of scripture,
- 1:01:30which ensures the unity of the church.
- 1:01:33The Pope serving as the visual head of the church also helps
- 1:01:36maintain that unity. I've noticed that there is even
- 1:01:39a level of respect given to priests that aren't attributed
- 1:01:42to pastors who may be in your world.
- 1:01:46But no, that's not true at all. Protestantism has deep ties with
- 1:01:51liberalism and individualism, which results in the belief that
- 1:01:56everyone is the same. Why is that a problem?
- 1:02:01And I like how she's just blatantly tying liberalism and
- 1:02:04individualism with Protestantism in order to, you know, tear it
- 1:02:07down. This starts with things like
- 1:02:09everyone is equally good at interpreting scripture and ends
- 1:02:12with, of course, women can be pastors.
- 1:02:15Now this is a non sequitur fallacy primarily because I
- 1:02:19don't know a single Christian in my entire circles in my entire
- 1:02:24life who has ever said that everyone is equally good at
- 1:02:28interpreting scripture. Have you, Brett?
- 1:02:30Have you met any Christians ever who said everyone is equally
- 1:02:36good at interpreting Scripture? No, and that obviously.
- 1:02:39Doesn't work through observation as well.
- 1:02:44Yeah, I. Know.
- 1:02:44I mean, sure there are. People who interpret scriptures
- 1:02:47differently for various reasons, but even the people who
- 1:02:52interpret the Bible wrong don't say that.
- 1:02:55So it's weird that she's playing out this entire straw man in
- 1:02:59order to tie Protestantism with liberalism and individualism.
- 1:03:04It's really, really strange. Anyway, she continues, it's
- 1:03:08freeing to know that it's not my job to come up with Christian
- 1:03:11doctrine by myself. Of course, you were not required
- 1:03:15to come up with Christian doctrine by yourself.
- 1:03:17And I digress. And that I can instead learn
- 1:03:19from men much wiser and smarter than me who are placed in
- 1:03:22authority by God and have peace together.
- 1:03:25The truth for strict methodology over 2000 years.
- 1:03:29So in other words, you don't want to do the work of actually
- 1:03:32reading the Bible for yourself and understanding what it says
- 1:03:35for yourself and comparing what you're reading with what other
- 1:03:38people are saying and then seeing which one checks out.
- 1:03:42That's just too much work for Sarah.
- 1:03:44No, no, no. It's just so much easier to let
- 1:03:47these holy priests and Catholicism do all of the
- 1:03:50biblical interpretation for her, which is kind of the attitude
- 1:03:54that the Catholic Church had before.
- 1:03:56Like we were talking about earlier in the stream when the
- 1:03:58Bible used to only be in Latin and it wasn't available in
- 1:04:01English. And so basically, people did
- 1:04:03have to rely on their priests to interpret the Bible for them
- 1:04:07because they had no other choice.
- 1:04:10But now that we have the Bible for ourselves of our own tongue,
- 1:04:13where we can read it for ourselves and understand it for
- 1:04:15ourselves, we no longer have to rely on Catholic priests to
- 1:04:20interpret the Bible for us. And apparently they're not too
- 1:04:25happy about it. And apparently she finds great
- 1:04:28comfort in letting someone else do her thinking for her.
- 1:04:32That's just a weird one to me. I don't know about you, Brett,
- 1:04:34but I do not like people interpreting things for me that
- 1:04:38I can't. Yeah, go ahead.
- 1:04:40I was going to say unfortunately.
- 1:04:42The Bible is absolutely correct whenever it says my people are
- 1:04:46destroyed for lack of knowledge. The issue that I discovered even
- 1:04:50back whenever I was a former atheist, one of the first
- 1:04:53questions I used to ask religious people when I would
- 1:04:57get into a debate or discussion with them was have you actually
- 1:05:01read the Bible cover to cover? I can't tell you how many
- 1:05:05shockingly admitted that they had never read the Bible cover
- 1:05:09to cover. They either skimmed through it
- 1:05:11or they had some preacher telling them what passages to
- 1:05:15look in on Sunday or Wednesday, and that was that.
- 1:05:19It's I think that's one of the reasons why there's so many
- 1:05:22problems with misinterpretations, because
- 1:05:25you're going to actually read it in order to be able to
- 1:05:27understand what it's saying. Right.
- 1:05:33Right. That's exactly right.
- 1:05:37And yeah, there are a lot of Christians like that.
- 1:05:40As a matter of fact, one of the things that my friend Tom from
- 1:05:44our walk in Christ, that ministry, one of the things he's
- 1:05:48been pointing out for a really long time, is that the biggest
- 1:05:52problem that Christians suffer from his biblical illiteracy.
- 1:05:56The majority of Christians do not know what the Bible teaches
- 1:06:01because they basically have barely ever read it, if ever,
- 1:06:05much less studied it. And God does not reward
- 1:06:08ignorance. He does not reward ignorance of
- 1:06:11what the Scriptures say. We are commanded to defend our
- 1:06:14faith, to defend the truthfulness of the biblical
- 1:06:17worldview from all that oppose it, according to the New
- 1:06:21Testament. And in order to do that, you got
- 1:06:24to know your Scriptures. You have to know what it says.
- 1:06:28You cannot be biblically illiterate, especially in
- 1:06:31today's society. So the idea of not doing the
- 1:06:37work of interpreting the Bible and just let other people
- 1:06:40interpret it for you, that's no good to someone like me.
- 1:06:44I refuse to let someone interpret something for me that
- 1:06:49I can read for myself and just let it be that.
- 1:06:52No, no, no, I have to know if what they're saying is true or
- 1:06:56not. And that's actually something we
- 1:06:58see in the Bible. We actually see that Paul was
- 1:07:02not beyond that scrutiny with the Bereans now in second Peter
- 1:07:06314 through 16, we read this. So then, dear?
- 1:07:10Friends, since you are. Looking forward to this, make
- 1:07:12every effort to be found spotless, blameless, and at
- 1:07:15peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord's
- 1:07:17patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also
- 1:07:21wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
- 1:07:23He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of
- 1:07:27these matters. His letters contain some things
- 1:07:30that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable
- 1:07:33people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own
- 1:07:38destruction. Now when?
- 1:07:40Peter. Says that people.
- 1:07:41Distort Paul's letters as they do the other scriptures to their
- 1:07:44own destruction. He is calling Paul's letters in
- 1:07:47the New Testament scripture. And how did the Bereans respond
- 1:07:52to Paul's scripture that he was revealing?
- 1:07:54Acts 1710 through 12. As soon as it was night, the
- 1:07:58believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea.
- 1:08:01On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.
- 1:08:04Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in
- 1:08:07Thessalonia, for they received the message with great eagerness
- 1:08:11and examine the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was
- 1:08:15true. As a result, many of them
- 1:08:18believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and
- 1:08:23many Greek men. So the Bereans didn't just take
- 1:08:27Paul's word for it, even though Paul's word was Scripture
- 1:08:31according to Peter. They actually compared what Paul
- 1:08:34was saying to what the other Scriptures were saying, which at
- 1:08:37this time would have been primarily the Old Testament and
- 1:08:43maybe some of the Gospels, because I don't remember exactly
- 1:08:47when Acts was put out. But Mark and Matthew may have
- 1:08:50already been written by this time.
- 1:08:52So they may have also compared those to what Paul was writing.
- 1:08:56But the point. Is they didn't just take.
- 1:08:58Paul's word for it. They examined the scriptures for
- 1:09:01themselves, and when they found out what Paul was saying, lined
- 1:09:05up with what the rest of the scriptures were saying, they
- 1:09:07converted. They didn't just take Paul's
- 1:09:10word for it. And yet we see the opposite
- 1:09:13attitude and Catholicism as iterated by Sarah here.
- 1:09:17Well, you know, I'm just going to let this guy who's wiser and
- 1:09:21smarter than me interpret the Bible for me because he's done
- 1:09:24the work and he's been through all the battles, and I'm just
- 1:09:28going to, I don't want to do all that.
- 1:09:31I just can't imagine being that kind of.
- 1:09:32Person, but I just can't. But then there's her last point,
- 1:09:36which is the union of the physical and spiritual, a
- 1:09:41pattern that I've noticed in Protestant circles.
- 1:09:43Is that anything material is often discarded as either
- 1:09:47meaningless or inherently bad, a belief that borders on the
- 1:09:50heresy of Gnosticism. This is seen in attitudes
- 1:09:54regarding icons, statues, rosaries, holy water, and of
- 1:09:57course the Euro Crest. However, Catholic theology
- 1:10:00affirms that both the material and the spiritual realms are
- 1:10:03real and are deeply intertwined, just like humans are both
- 1:10:07physical and spiritual beings. Physical objects can have
- 1:10:10spiritual significance as well. Well, that's not Catholic
- 1:10:14theology. That's the Bible, so.
- 1:10:18You're just saying what the? Bible says at that point I mean
- 1:10:22the churches. I've been in.
- 1:10:24Have not really for the most part taught this idea that the
- 1:10:28physical is meaningless. Because she is right.
- 1:10:31That is a gnostic attitude that was a real problem back in the
- 1:10:36history of the early church. But she continues on.
- 1:10:40The Catholic belief that the baptism, the Eurochrist and the
- 1:10:43anointing of the sick are not symbolic but are ways for God to
- 1:10:46reach us spiritually deeply resonated with me.
- 1:10:50While I used to think that Catholic traditions and
- 1:10:52sacraments were boring and pointless, I now see them as
- 1:10:55mystical and transcendent. Knowing that consecrated bread
- 1:10:58and wine actually become the body and blood of Jesus has
- 1:11:02opened my eyes to what true worship is.
- 1:11:05Not singing Christian pop songs, but partaking in the sacrifice
- 1:11:09Jesus made for us. Wow, so she actually believes
- 1:11:14that the consecrated bread and the wine they take at communion
- 1:11:18actually becomes the body of Jesus and the blood of Jesus?
- 1:11:23Like literally, not metaphorically, not symbolically
- 1:11:27literally, but we see in the. New Testament.
- 1:11:31That Jesus called people to eat his flesh and drink his blood,
- 1:11:35and yet none of his apostles ran around eating his literal flesh
- 1:11:39and drinking his literal blood. It's obvious from the New
- 1:11:43Testament that it's symbolic. The bread symbolized Jesus's
- 1:11:48body. The wine that they had at the
- 1:11:50Last Supper represented Jesus's blood.
- 1:11:54It's all symbolic, not literal. The Catholics came up with this
- 1:11:59tradition that says that it literally became Jesus body.
- 1:12:03The bread, din and the wine or the juice or whatever you drink
- 1:12:07literally becomes the blood of Jesus when you go through this
- 1:12:10Catholic tradition. But once again.
- 1:12:13We have a case of. Catholics making up a tradition
- 1:12:17that contradicts the Scriptures, and because it's a sacred
- 1:12:21tradition, because it's an Apostolic tradition that Trump's
- 1:12:26the scriptures, and we'll go with the tradition once again,
- 1:12:29something that Jesus point blank condemned when the Jews did it.
- 1:12:34So I'm just, she really ended this on a banger because yeah,
- 1:12:40it sounds like. Go ahead, she's literally
- 1:12:44adhering to. Traditions that contradict the
- 1:12:47scriptures, and the very concept of adhering to traditions over
- 1:12:51scripture is literally condemned by Jesus.
- 1:12:53So the part that I really feel for this girl on, she may
- 1:12:58actually be deluded enough to think that being a Roman
- 1:13:02Catholic is going to grow her closer to God.
- 1:13:04But in reality, she's doing the very things that Jesus condemned
- 1:13:09in the 1st century. She's doing the very things that
- 1:13:12the Jewish leaders and all the other religious leaders of Jesus
- 1:13:16time were doing because back in that time, they too had their
- 1:13:20own traditions that they were putting on par with scripture in
- 1:13:24terms of authority and then setting aside the contrary
- 1:13:27scriptures in favor of their traditions.
- 1:13:30So I don't know how this happened, but apparently when
- 1:13:34the Jews did it, it's bad, but when Catholics do it, it's OK.
- 1:13:38That's what I'm getting from the Catholic Church when it comes to
- 1:13:42this all apostolistic tradition that doesn't come from
- 1:13:46Scripture, but we adhere to it anyway.
- 1:13:49I have a real problem with that. I mean, you're not really a
- 1:13:52Bible believing Christian at that point.
- 1:13:54You're really just a traditionist.
- 1:13:58You're following traditions made-up by men, and you only
- 1:14:01adhere to the parts of the Bible that don't contradict that
- 1:14:04tradition. Because as soon as it does,
- 1:14:07tradition wins. And the Jews did it all the
- 1:14:11time. Jesus condemned them for it.
- 1:14:14And so this, this very thing right here, which is not, not a
- 1:14:18new thing, it's something that Protestants and Baptists and
- 1:14:21other critics of Roman Catholicism have been pointing
- 1:14:24out for time in memoriam. No, the consecrated bread does
- 1:14:27not literally become the body of Jesus.
- 1:14:30No, the wine or juice that you're drinking does not
- 1:14:33literally become Jesus's blood. No, no, no, no.
- 1:14:36It's all symbolic. Bible makes it clear, but Bible
- 1:14:40means nothing compared to apostolistic tradition.
- 1:14:45But that is the entire article. These are her reasons why she
- 1:14:49left behind Protestantism and converted to Catholicism.
- 1:14:54And honestly, I'm horrified for, you know, for someone.
- 1:14:58Who runs? Around on the Internet and in
- 1:15:00the society and puts herself out there as a serious intellectual
- 1:15:04heavyweight who's championing Christian conservative values.
- 1:15:10The lack of thinking, the lack of research, the blatant
- 1:15:14adherence to tradition over scripture in regards to some of
- 1:15:18the things she's espousing here is horrifying to me.
- 1:15:21Because even if she is right about other things going on in
- 1:15:25society, and even if she does lead people out of like leftism
- 1:15:31or, you know, adhering to the globalist narrative on certain
- 1:15:34things, she's not leading them to a place of spiritual health.
- 1:15:39She's unintentionally most likely leading them to a place
- 1:15:43of spiritual bondage and decay. She's literally leading them in
- 1:15:47rebellion against the Lord that she claims to adhere to.
- 1:15:51When she engages in a religion that puts tradition on par with
- 1:15:56scripture and then in practice sets the scripture aside for the
- 1:15:59tradition. That's what she's doing, whether
- 1:16:02she realizes it or not. And considering the lack of
- 1:16:05research in this article, I'm thinking maybe she's just really
- 1:16:09ignorant about some things because even she admitted
- 1:16:12earlier in the article that she's not that well versed on
- 1:16:15Catholic doctrine, so I don't mean.
- 1:16:18Birth. Darn.
- 1:16:19Protestants either. It seems like she's a young lady
- 1:16:24who's looking for something that's pretty.
- 1:16:26She likes sparkly things. And I mean, to be fair, I've
- 1:16:30lived in Saint Louis before. If you walk down the street and
- 1:16:34you see a Catholic Church, they look like Gothic cathedrals.
- 1:16:38Some of them have gargoyles on them.
- 1:16:39They look all crazy looking, and they look like they have some
- 1:16:43kind of powerful aura about them.
- 1:16:45But you know, and the stained glass and the stained.
- 1:16:48Glass, you know, inside the cathedrals, you know that have
- 1:16:51all the artwork on them. The the thing that I'll put.
- 1:16:54Out there, I guess one of one of the things that always confused
- 1:16:58me, even whenever I was an unbeliever, was the idea really
- 1:17:02for Christians is we want to build a personal relationship
- 1:17:06with Jesus. Now, if I were to tell you I've
- 1:17:08got a close relationship with TTOR, but I talked to a dead
- 1:17:14family member in order to communicate with him, or I need
- 1:17:18to talk to some person named Susie, and then Susie relays the
- 1:17:22message to TTR, you couldn't really call that a close
- 1:17:26connection with TTR, right? The point of this is, is God is
- 1:17:31described as an entity, as omniscient, omnipresent, all
- 1:17:35knowing. It is not needed for me to walk
- 1:17:38into a cardboard box and have a conversation with some old man
- 1:17:41who will probably forget me within 5 minutes of leaving the
- 1:17:45place. If I want God to work in my
- 1:17:47life, I can talk directly to God anywhere at any time.
- 1:17:53There's no point in all that other nonsense.
- 1:17:56And as far as the statues and engraving images, the Old
- 1:17:59Testament speaks very clearly of that.
- 1:18:02That's why I don't give the Catholicism much merit.
- 1:18:06And the fact that they hide information in their archives
- 1:18:10and all that, and not being transparent tells me that
- 1:18:14somehow, someway, they have become the liars of society.
- 1:18:20Yeah, and as I mentioned a couple.
- 1:18:22Times earlier, the whole issue of the pedophile priests and how
- 1:18:25the Catholic Church didn't deal with them and instead shuffle
- 1:18:29them around and hid them from people.
- 1:18:32That kind of rubs people the wrong way too.
- 1:18:34So in addition to all the things you just said, that's another
- 1:18:38thing that people will not forget or let go.
- 1:18:41I mean, I remember about 10-12, maybe even like during my
- 1:18:46college years, like 15 years ago, I remember I used to hear
- 1:18:49all the time about the whole pedophile priests trope.
- 1:18:53And basically it was like part of pop culture back in the day
- 1:18:57to slam on the Catholic Church because of the pedophile priests
- 1:19:00issue. But yeah, I.
- 1:19:03Hear someone like her. Say, Oh yeah, every priest that
- 1:19:06Catholicism has is blessed by God.
- 1:19:09I'm like, uh huh. Right.
- 1:19:13Well, the Bible's. Very clear that if you cause a
- 1:19:16little 1 to stumble or have any kind of issue whatsoever, Jesus
- 1:19:20says that it's better to tie a basically something around your
- 1:19:24neck attached to a rock, jump off in the sea and get lost
- 1:19:27forever. So for those priests who did
- 1:19:31that, they basically endorsed the torture and torment of
- 1:19:35innocent children, even if they didn't lay their hands on it.
- 1:19:39The fact that they supported and tried to protect those who
- 1:19:43victimized children, they're I, I believe they're on their way
- 1:19:46to hell. That's just my view though.
- 1:19:48If anyone wants to argue, I'm always open ears.
- 1:19:53Right. Well, I just put out the invite
- 1:19:57link for guests in the chats for Proverbs guy on YouTube and
- 1:20:02Twitch and Twitter. And I also put it in the chats
- 1:20:06of my Rumbles channel and my quarter and FTJ media stream.
- 1:20:09So anyone watching this who wants to get on and you at least
- 1:20:14have a working microphone, we are ready to take you on and
- 1:20:18talk about whatever you want. Oh, one thing I didn't notice,
- 1:20:22Brett. OK, go ahead.
- 1:20:25I was just going. To say the one thing I noticed.
- 1:20:27At the end of her article that might actually explain why she
- 1:20:30has popularity to begin with is that she used to be a
- 1:20:34contributor to both Rebel News and the Babylon B.
- 1:20:38So as popular as the Babylon B is, I can see where she would
- 1:20:42have gotten followers based off of just her contributions to
- 1:20:46that satirical publication Babylon B.
- 1:20:49Isn't that the? Same, it's like a parody channel
- 1:20:52where they have Satan always on video right talking about how
- 1:20:55great it is to do abortion. Yeah, they have video skits on.
- 1:21:00YouTube and other places, but they also write articles on
- 1:21:03their website. That's how they grew initially.
- 1:21:06Was the articles. I read those a lot.
- 1:21:08There are a lot of Babylon B articles are just hilarious.
- 1:21:13No, I'm I'm like you. What?
- 1:21:14You were talking about earlier when it comes to the view of I
- 1:21:18do believe that if a Catholic accepts Jesus Christ and has
- 1:21:23them in their heart and all that and they're trying to do the
- 1:21:25best they can, not deliberately trying to be a a false teacher
- 1:21:29or false bad person. Now they get some leeway.
- 1:21:34But if they know better and they've actually read the Bible,
- 1:21:37yet they're still praying to the dead and praying the statues and
- 1:21:40all this, this is a serious problem.
- 1:21:42This is no more different than the Mormons trying to baptize
- 1:21:45corpses as far as I'm concerned. That's it's just not acceptable.
- 1:21:50It's not biblical and it's more on the lines of something you'd
- 1:21:55hear from a Satanic ritual. And I'm not kidding.
- 1:21:58You know, I spent over a year talking to Satanist and I I
- 1:22:02can't tell the difference between some of the traditions
- 1:22:05of Catholicism from the Satanic Church.
- 1:22:10Right. And another good.
- 1:22:11Example of that is actually the whole concept of Mary being the
- 1:22:15Queen of Heaven. There's some parts of the
- 1:22:18Catechism and other Catholic sources that actually call her
- 1:22:22the Queen of Heaven, which by the way is the same title that
- 1:22:27we see in the Book of Jeremiah talking about Ishtar the Pagan
- 1:22:33goddess. So when they.
- 1:22:36Worship. Mary as the Queen of Heaven.
- 1:22:39They have literally fallen for Ishtar worship repackaged in a
- 1:22:44Christian guise, IE the Virgin Mary.
- 1:22:48Right. And I hope no.
- 1:22:49One out there when you listen to this later when there's an
- 1:22:52audience paying attention to video.
- 1:22:54I'm in no way at all this seeing Mary and I believe that she is
- 1:22:59very, very special. Obviously she she raised Jesus
- 1:23:03Christ whenever he was a child and all that and she probably
- 1:23:06does have a good place in heaven.
- 1:23:08I'm sure with God, but the idea of praying to her and worshiping
- 1:23:13her and all that, that's that is something that I I don't think
- 1:23:17that Jesus asked to happen or the Father God for anybody to do
- 1:23:23something like that. No reason, no point for it.
- 1:23:26She can be revered, but not there's no point in praying to
- 1:23:30her. She like all the other men of
- 1:23:32the Bible and humans who have died, they rest in death right
- 1:23:37now waiting for the return of Christ there.
- 1:23:39They can't even hear you at the moment.
- 1:23:43Yes, that is a good. There's a lot of good points you
- 1:23:46brought up, but your overall point is 1.
- 1:23:48I agree with too, and I should probably say this as well.
- 1:23:52So even though I'm slamming on the veneration of Mary concept,
- 1:23:56that does not mean I have a low opinion of Mary, Jesus's earthly
- 1:24:01mother from the 1st century. She obviously was a faithful
- 1:24:06servant of the Lord because God chose her to be the one to give
- 1:24:11birth to Jesus in the 1st century.
- 1:24:12Now my opinion is that the reason why he chose her is not
- 1:24:16because she was sinless or anything like that.
- 1:24:20No, she was a servant of the Lord.
- 1:24:22And he knew that if he asked her to be the woman who bears Jesus,
- 1:24:28she would say yes and she would walk it out and she would not,
- 1:24:33you know, turn away from that. That's why he chose her, because
- 1:24:38she would answer the call. I think it's that simple.
- 1:24:42And she was even willing to risk being divorced by Joseph over
- 1:24:46it. Well, there's.
- 1:24:48There's more than that. For those who've actually read
- 1:24:50the Bible out there, I think that God realized that she would
- 1:24:54be. She was the type of person where
- 1:24:57she would have been willing to die in order to protect Jesus
- 1:25:00whenever he was in the vulnerable state of being a
- 1:25:03baby. So she, I mean, she did
- 1:25:05everything possible to get rid of, I believe Herod sent all
- 1:25:09those men to go kill all those children trying to find Jesus
- 1:25:13and all that. She went through a lot.
- 1:25:16There's no way she can be disrespected on the effort she
- 1:25:19made to be there for Jesus and all that.
- 1:25:22But she is never, there's never once where any of the disciples
- 1:25:27or Christ himself said that we ought to pray to her any of
- 1:25:29that. Respect her, yes.
- 1:25:32But she, like every other human being on the planet, sadly,
- 1:25:35unfortunately is asleep right now.
- 1:25:37They don't hear you and statues don't hear you either.
- 1:25:43Oh. You know what I just thought of?
- 1:25:44Brett, I don't have it on a tab right now, but I just remembered
- 1:25:48a story in one of the gospels where it says that Jesus was now
- 1:25:52speaking at a House of his disciples.
- 1:25:54And there was a bunch of people you know, around them listening
- 1:25:56to him preach and says that his mother, Mary and other family
- 1:26:00members came to get Jesus, saying that he was out of his
- 1:26:04mind. And someone told Jesus, hey,
- 1:26:07your mother and your brothers are here to get you.
- 1:26:10And then Jesus turns to his disciples and says, here are my
- 1:26:14mother's and my brothers. So obviously Mary was.
- 1:26:19Not sinless or perfect if she actually thought Jesus was out
- 1:26:24of his mind at any point during his earthly ministry.
- 1:26:29Well, I don't know if people remember.
- 1:26:31I don't know if people remember, but there was an incident where
- 1:26:34Jesus was a child and he would like to go up into the
- 1:26:37synagogues and all that I believe is what it was called.
- 1:26:40And Mary got anxious and she's like, you know, where is he at?
- 1:26:45What's he doing? And then when she finally finds
- 1:26:47him, she's like, what are you doing?
- 1:26:49You, you didn't tell me where you were going or anything like
- 1:26:52that. And he said woman.
- 1:26:54He said, woman, I'm going about my, you know, God's business.
- 1:26:58So you know, she if she fully 100% had the trust and the
- 1:27:05faith, and I'm not saying that she didn't, but she wouldn't
- 1:27:08have questioned then she would have known God would protect
- 1:27:11Christ, right, right. Well, and her.
- 1:27:15Her defense, her and Joseph didn't even realize that he had
- 1:27:19stayed behind, which I don't know how you do that one, But
- 1:27:23somehow they went on a day's journey without realizing that
- 1:27:26Jesus wasn't with them. So they had to come all the way
- 1:27:29back and they had to look for him.
- 1:27:30And I can understand why she would have been, you know,
- 1:27:35responding the way she did because we're talking about a
- 1:27:38couple days of just total panic looking for Jesus, especially
- 1:27:42when he considered that before he was even born, Herod was
- 1:27:45trying to have him killed. And basically they had to run to
- 1:27:49Egypt to flee that persecution. And then they had to come back.
- 1:27:53They found out someone else who would do the same thing was in
- 1:27:56power. And so they had to go back to
- 1:27:57Nazareth to raise Jesus. So I can understand her concern
- 1:28:02because there were people trying to try to pre abort Jesus before
- 1:28:07he was even born. So kind of like the Terminator.
- 1:28:10I clearly get it. I'm a I'm a parent.
- 1:28:13So if one of my if my children when they were toddlers or or
- 1:28:17even a young age disappeared on me even for an hour, I would
- 1:28:22have had a panic attack. I would have lost my mind over
- 1:28:24it. So I get it.
- 1:28:26I'm just pointing out really what Jesus, how he responded.
- 1:28:30He's like, this is my business. This is what I do.
- 1:28:33You know, this is how Christ rolls, right?
- 1:28:40Oh one thing I wanted to screen share.
- 1:28:43Because I, I keep mentioning early, I meant keep mentioning
- 1:28:46throughout the stream that the Catholic faith teaches that Mary
- 1:28:51is a mediator between US and Jesus.
- 1:28:54And that basically the way it works is that you go to Mary and
- 1:28:59then she relays what you say to her to Jesus and then he relays
- 1:29:02it to God. And basically that's how the
- 1:29:03mediation works. Well, when you actually read the
- 1:29:07Bible, you read something just a wee bit different, just a little
- 1:29:12different. I'm just going to put it on the
- 1:29:14screen here and then switch it and then do this so in first.
- 1:29:22Timothy 2. One through 7 we read.
- 1:29:25I urge then, first of all that petitions, prayers,
- 1:29:28intercession, and Thanksgiving be made for all people, for
- 1:29:30kings and all those in authority, that we may live
- 1:29:33peaceful and quiet lives and all godliness and holiness.
- 1:29:36This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to
- 1:29:39be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
- 1:29:42Now this is the important verse, for there is one God and one
- 1:29:48mediator between God and mankind.
- 1:29:51The man Jesus who gave himself as a ransom for all people, this
- 1:29:55has now been witness to at the proper time.
- 1:29:58And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an
- 1:30:00apostle. I am telling the truth, I am not
- 1:30:02lying and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.
- 1:30:07So first Timothy chapter 2 verse 5 says that there is one
- 1:30:14mediator between God and mankind and it's Jesus.
- 1:30:20But the Catholics tell you that there's actually 2 mediators
- 1:30:24between God and mankind, Mary and Jesus, and you go to her
- 1:30:29first and she goes to Jesus and he goes to God.
- 1:30:34So that's why I. Keep saying.
- 1:30:35That they teach this and that it's a heresy, it's because they
- 1:30:38do teach it. As we can see on the screen.
- 1:30:41That is blatant heresy because the Bible specifically says
- 1:30:46there's only one mediator between God and man, and
- 1:30:48Catholics teach there's 2 so. That's where the tradition.
- 1:30:53Trumping the scripture comes into play for them.
- 1:30:56I just realized as I fought out the stream, I brought that up
- 1:30:58several times, but I didn't bring that particular point up.
- 1:31:03But yet got that out of the way. Well, I'm still here, man.
- 1:31:09Just been listening to you making points on that.
- 1:31:12I in, in the future when you decide that you need to, you
- 1:31:17know, put somebody in their place and now that'll deal with
- 1:31:20issues. Can you give me a little bit of
- 1:31:23a heads up so I can do some research?
- 1:31:24That way I'm not sitting here like a duck in a barrel.
- 1:31:29Yeah, I get it. I I didn't even think that you
- 1:31:31were going to be in this stream, so my bad Well, you know how it
- 1:31:34is when. TTR is going to live stream or
- 1:31:37Steven Brett Keane's got to be there somewhere, somewhere.
- 1:31:43Even if it's just in the banner. But I get you.
- 1:31:47I mean you read off. Directly her views and her ideas
- 1:31:50and all that. She sounds like a a Pumpkinhead.
- 1:31:53She doesn't seem to know what she stood for to begin with, and
- 1:31:57now she's shocked by all the sparkly things.
- 1:31:59Catholicism goes for Notice and none of what you showed us and
- 1:32:06talked about and none of it it was that, you know, scripture
- 1:32:11became really more clear. She's basically saying she needs
- 1:32:15somebody to talk to her about it because she just, I guess,
- 1:32:19suffers from some kind of literacy issue.
- 1:32:23Well, I think. She doesn't want to do that
- 1:32:25difficult work of understanding things for herself because
- 1:32:28notice how she seems to be comforted emotionally when she
- 1:32:32talks about how well you know this priest who did all this
- 1:32:36work for me. When reading and understanding
- 1:32:39the scriptures, well, he's an authority figure giving what's
- 1:32:43probably the correct interpretation of scripture, so
- 1:32:46I should just let him do all the interpreting and I just need to
- 1:32:49accept what he says. That's the kind of thing that
- 1:32:53atheists have a field day with, and why so many atheists think
- 1:32:57that Christians in general just believe whatever their pastors
- 1:33:01or their priests tell them because of stuff like that.
- 1:33:05Now we know where that trope comes.
- 1:33:07From. Yeah, I agree with you.
- 1:33:14It's just. You know and.
- 1:33:17If I didn't say this strongly enough before, when I when I'm
- 1:33:20criticizing her like I do and then I react the way I do, it's
- 1:33:25not because I think she's a horrible deceiver who's an
- 1:33:28intentionally deceiving people. I think it's pretty obvious from
- 1:33:31what I read that she's ignorant and she doesn't realize what
- 1:33:35she's doing. And she fell for, you know, she
- 1:33:39fell for a con, basically. And the reason why I react the
- 1:33:42way I do is because she fell for a con.
- 1:33:44And she has this really big Internet platform that reaches a
- 1:33:48lot of people. And if those people, or even if
- 1:33:51a fraction of those people believe what she's selling them
- 1:33:54hook, line and sinker, they too can be LED astray.
- 1:33:58So it's kind of important. Sometimes you got to stop the
- 1:34:01show and go, hey, wait a minute, something's really wrong here
- 1:34:05with your reasons why you converted to the Catholic faith
- 1:34:07from Protestantism. Someone's got to tell her.
- 1:34:11And I doubt she'll ever see this stream.
- 1:34:13But other people who might follow her hopefully will see
- 1:34:17this stream and they'll realize, oh, yeah, she's off on that.
- 1:34:23She might be right about all these other things culturally
- 1:34:25that's going on, but she's wrong on this one.
- 1:34:29And that's really. The heart I have is.
- 1:34:31That hopefully people who follow her and don't realize the truth
- 1:34:36about her conversion to Catholicism, as far as her
- 1:34:39reasons for it, they'll be the ones who come up later and go,
- 1:34:42oh, I never realized that before.
- 1:34:45Oh, I didn't know Catholicism taught that.
- 1:34:48Oh my goodness, I didn't realize that contradicted scripture.
- 1:34:51That's the kind of reaction I'm hoping for, those people kind of
- 1:34:55reminds. Me of something ironically, that
- 1:34:58I heard just a couple days ago, You know, I like to go listen to
- 1:35:02streams and see what people are thinking and talking about and
- 1:35:05all that. And I I was looking for live
- 1:35:09stuff and I came across a channel that apparently was
- 1:35:13atheist. Well, I get over there and I
- 1:35:15hear this guy talking to this atheist, and he goes, yeah, I've
- 1:35:19been a Christian for a long time, but I've been thinking
- 1:35:22about walking away because, well, it turns out I'm a
- 1:35:25homosexual. And I don't know if, you know,
- 1:35:28the church likes me or not. And I'm like, oh, that's
- 1:35:31beautiful. So you have some kind of sexual
- 1:35:34desires and ambitions. So you're going to go just
- 1:35:38because you know, God doesn't agree with your sexuality.
- 1:35:41That's that's brilliant. You know, so it sounds like
- 1:35:45that. It sounds like people they want
- 1:35:47to be a part of a community that tickles their ears and Pats them
- 1:35:52on the back for no matter what sins they decide to do.
- 1:35:57Right. That's what a lot of people are
- 1:35:59like. Oh, there's.
- 1:36:02Also another. Reason why it's important to
- 1:36:04respond to her reasons why she became a Catholic because she
- 1:36:09held up in her brief mention of it, the Catechism as a cat of
- 1:36:13the Catholic Church, as an authority on all of these
- 1:36:16different moral issues. Well, that's a problem because
- 1:36:20if you actually read the Catechism of the Catholic Church
- 1:36:23in its entirety and not just the points that sound, you know,
- 1:36:28pretty inoffensive, the cataclysm of the Catholic Church
- 1:36:32actually teaches that we can become God, like God.
- 1:36:37And I'm going to show that on screen so that nobody has to
- 1:36:40take my word for it because that's not how we roll here.
- 1:36:44Let's move it right over. It's Catechism of the Catholic
- 1:36:48Church, and it is in Part 1, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 3,
- 1:36:54paragraph one. This is #460.
- 1:36:59It says why did. The Word become flesh.
- 1:37:02The Word became flesh to make us partakers of the divine nature.
- 1:37:07For This is why the Word became man, and the Son of God became
- 1:37:10the Son of man. So that man, by entering into
- 1:37:13communion with the Word and thus receiving divine sonship, might
- 1:37:17become a Son of God. For the Son of Man or sorry for
- 1:37:22the Son of God became man so that we might become God.
- 1:37:29Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:37:31Catholicism teaches that we can become God.
- 1:37:36Yeah. That's another reason why I
- 1:37:40rejected Catholicism wholesale. Many years ago I came across
- 1:37:45this passage and I went, Oh well, this is wrong.
- 1:37:50And of course for the part that says partakers of the divine
- 1:37:53nature, they have second Peter chapter one verse 4 as a
- 1:37:57footnote. So I went to that passage,
- 1:37:59obviously to check it out. It does not even remotely
- 1:38:03suggest that we can become God like this passage in the
- 1:38:09Catechism of the Catholic Church says.
- 1:38:11So think about. That if you're.
- 1:38:13Watching this and you're thinking about giving
- 1:38:16Catholicism a serious hearing. As a Christian, think twice
- 1:38:21about that. It literally teaches in
- 1:38:24Catholicism that we can become gods like Yahweh.
- 1:38:28That's a big red flag. No no, biblically speaking.
- 1:38:33I mean that's literally the lie that Satan used to get Adam and
- 1:38:38Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and fall into sin.
- 1:38:42He literally told Eve, hey, you eat this fruit, you'll become
- 1:38:46just like God. And what did she do?
- 1:38:50And then what did Adam do when? She came to him.
- 1:38:52No, no, no, no. That's literally the same thing.
- 1:38:57The Catechism. Of the Catholic Church teaches
- 1:38:59it teaches that we can become God like God.
- 1:39:03Same lie. And that's one of that's one of
- 1:39:09the reasons among many why I find Catholicism to be what a
- 1:39:13false religion. And two, I find it horrifying
- 1:39:16when Bible believing Christians or these people who claim to be
- 1:39:19Bible believing Christians start to fall for it.
- 1:39:21It's like, guys, just read the official stuff.
- 1:39:24And then, of course, Catholics will sometimes play it off as
- 1:39:27like, well, yeah, the cacheism of the Catholic Church might say
- 1:39:30that, but that's not relevant to my church.
- 1:39:35OK. Just ignore your official,
- 1:39:38official documents that teach what your religion teaches.
- 1:39:42Just ignore that. It's funny because.
- 1:39:45Ironically it's same thing as the Mormons, but they also offer
- 1:39:49God a planet as well. You know you become God like and
- 1:39:53then you possess your own world. Exactly.
- 1:39:57Yeah, Mormons. Are giving us a better deal.
- 1:40:00We don't just become like God. We got our own planet and we can
- 1:40:03create whatever we want on it. We'll just be.
- 1:40:05It'll be amazing. We get to actually be God.
- 1:40:08It's like the celestial version of The Sims.
- 1:40:12I got into a discussion. Recently with Mormons about that
- 1:40:16I said what if a person's been married several times though, or
- 1:40:19even 3 times? And do all the wives share the
- 1:40:22planet? Oh they all get their own
- 1:40:24planet. And I said well as nice as it is
- 1:40:27having a pretty planet, being alone aren't.
- 1:40:30It doesn't sound very sound like a person would go mentally ill
- 1:40:34after a while. With that they go, well, you
- 1:40:36know, most likely one of the wives will choose.
- 1:40:39So unless they're made to be put right, they're in a like your
- 1:40:44own brand of paradise. It's going to be awfully
- 1:40:47miserable. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:40:53Especially if you're talking about fundamentalist Mormons
- 1:40:56because they still practice polygamy.
- 1:40:58Oh, that's even worse. Because remember in.
- 1:41:04Mormonism. When you get married to someone,
- 1:41:06you are with them. Not just for all of this life on
- 1:41:10earth, you're with them. Afterlife.
- 1:41:14That's right, course that of course it's not as bad.
- 1:41:18As being a woman in Islam, because in Islam if you're a
- 1:41:23Muslima and you're married to a Muslim man and he has multiple
- 1:41:27wives during your life on earth. What you discover is that
- 1:41:31according to Islam, when you get to the afterlife, there are
- 1:41:34these creatures called Hori's that are basically like these
- 1:41:39beautiful, luptious, amazing like winged women that are
- 1:41:45perpetual virgins like. And Muslim men will spend all
- 1:41:48eternity deflowering these Hori's and their virginity will
- 1:41:52just regenerate after each time. So basically the Muslim men will
- 1:41:56have at least 70 if not more of these creatures that he'll be
- 1:41:59banging for all eternity. And his wives that he brought in
- 1:42:03from Earth will just be sitting on the sidelines spectating
- 1:42:06during this. That's rough, ma'am.
- 1:42:12And that's why Andrew Tate converted to.
- 1:42:14Islam. Just kidding.
- 1:42:17Yeah, I've. Seen some of his videos.
- 1:42:21That's a very narcissistic man you speak of.
- 1:42:25Oh yeah, A. Very prideful man, too.
- 1:42:28Very arrogant. Yeah.
- 1:42:30Oh hey, apparently, Sarah earlier today said on Twitter in
- 1:42:39response to some person. I I you know I might have to
- 1:42:46screen. Share this one, Go ahead,
- 1:42:50because this is actually kind of kind of funny.
- 1:42:52I didn't know this about her. Well, maybe I should have
- 1:42:55guessed. No, I am not the main show.
- 1:43:04This is the main show. So someone who calls themselves
- 1:43:08SF Post said in response to her on some other tweet.
- 1:43:12What's unreasonable is that while you decry feminism and
- 1:43:15promote traditional marriage, you yourself are an unmarried
- 1:43:18career woman. Stop grifting, she said in
- 1:43:21response. That's dumb.
- 1:43:23You don't have to be married to know what a good marriage looks
- 1:43:27like. In fact, you should have
- 1:43:28examples of good marriages to look to before you're married so
- 1:43:32that you can model yours after them.
- 1:43:35And they said in response you completely missed the point.
- 1:43:38My point is that you claim to be traditional while at the same
- 1:43:41time being unmarried and working the career.
- 1:43:44If you were so traditional you would already be married.
- 1:43:48To which she said I'm 21 and they said OK and many people got
- 1:43:54married at 2150 years ago. Instead you're wasting your time
- 1:43:58on jubilee episodes debating homosexuals.
- 1:44:01Why aren't you trying to find a husband?
- 1:44:03I know you would have many takers.
- 1:44:06And that is? True, that is one of.
- 1:44:08The things that has happened in our society is that we've been.
- 1:44:14I guess we've been conditioned for.
- 1:44:16Lack of a better phrase to basically put off getting
- 1:44:19married until certain things are in place, which back in the day,
- 1:44:24those things used to be in place at a much earlier age so you
- 1:44:26could get married at 18 to 21 years old.
- 1:44:30But now, because of the way the economy is and the way society
- 1:44:33is, among other factors, basically people are not getting
- 1:44:38married until they're like in their 30s now, when they're.
- 1:44:41Basically at the end of. Their fertility and so it's hard
- 1:44:47to. Be traditional at.
- 1:44:49That point because you basically spend your prime fertility years
- 1:44:53and your prime years of your life where it would be the
- 1:44:55perfect time to have some children and raise a family.
- 1:44:59They're they're putting that off until they're way older.
- 1:45:03And so hopefully Sarah gets married in a few years avoid
- 1:45:06that. But it is a real thing.
- 1:45:09There is some benefits to getting.
- 1:45:11Married. It's only rough on you if you
- 1:45:14end up bringing children into the equation.
- 1:45:17That's where things start getting expensive.
- 1:45:19But if you have a partner, you're going to be able to pay
- 1:45:22your bills easier, especially if you're both working.
- 1:45:25So it actually plays out well. Even in the economy that we have
- 1:45:28nowadays. It's just the children thing
- 1:45:31that can be a problem nowadays. Daycare can cost you thousands
- 1:45:36of dollars and all that. That's ridiculous.
- 1:45:39And it also makes it difficult to be a a middle class person or
- 1:45:44in the poor category and pay for right.
- 1:45:47But that's what. That's But that's what part of
- 1:45:50the whole traditional life thing is that Sarah Stock apparently
- 1:45:53is a promoter of It's the old way of the husband basically
- 1:45:57earns enough money to pay for everything.
- 1:45:59The woman doesn't have to work. The wife can just stay home,
- 1:46:02take care of the house, raise the children, educate the
- 1:46:06children as best as she can. And then basically they do life
- 1:46:10together when he's home from work.
- 1:46:12And what we've seen over time is that things in society have
- 1:46:17forced it to where men and women both have to work just to pay
- 1:46:21the bills and be able to live with any kind of comfort at all.
- 1:46:24And then when you have kids, like you said, that adds a whole
- 1:46:27other stress and things get a lot tougher.
- 1:46:30And yeah, it's just hard to be truly traditional in that sense
- 1:46:35because we live in a society where for the most part, unless
- 1:46:39you're like, wealthy, you as a man can't make enough by
- 1:46:43yourself to pay for everything. And a lot of cases, you do need
- 1:46:48to work. You have your wife work as well
- 1:46:50to be able to do things like they used to be able to do back
- 1:46:53in the 50s and 60s. And then that's where the
- 1:46:56daycare thing comes in. If both the husband and the wife
- 1:46:59have to work, then they obviously can't raise the kid
- 1:47:02during the day. So they get sent off this public
- 1:47:04school, they get sent off to daycare.
- 1:47:06They have their after school activities and clubs and all
- 1:47:10that. That's all the result of the
- 1:47:13traditional lifestyle that these people promote.
- 1:47:18That's what. Happens when you move.
- 1:47:19Away from that is you get what we're at today, which I know in
- 1:47:24some. Cases.
- 1:47:26It's the way things work out like I envisioned for myself
- 1:47:30growing up that by the time I was in my mid 20s, I'd be
- 1:47:34graduated from college, I'd be married, I'd maybe have one or
- 1:47:38two kids, and I'd have this well established job and a journalism
- 1:47:43organization of some kind. Little did I know that I would
- 1:47:47end up spending all the way up until my early 30s working in a
- 1:47:52caregiving job and that I would not get married.
- 1:47:56And I'm still not married even though I'm 35.
- 1:47:58And it's only now that things that I envisioned having growing
- 1:48:01up by my mid 20s are now starting to happen.
- 1:48:04Like now I have my own house and now I finally do have a job in a
- 1:48:07journalism related field. It's being ATV producer.
- 1:48:11And so I figure at some point I'll probably get married.
- 1:48:14But I was one of those people who grew up thinking I was going
- 1:48:17to be married by my mid 20s. And there have been times in the
- 1:48:21last 10 years where it's like, man, things have really not gone
- 1:48:24the way that I thought they were going to.
- 1:48:27And sometimes I'm really sad about that.
- 1:48:29But then at other times, I'm thinking, well, yeah.
- 1:48:32But if I was married and going down what I thought was going to
- 1:48:35happen, I wouldn't have learned all the things I've learned.
- 1:48:37I wouldn't have had the opportunities to meet the people
- 1:48:40I've met like Brett, like seeking the truth, like Steven
- 1:48:44Bullen, you know, Proverbs guy and all the other people that
- 1:48:48I've met over time. I could never have envisioned
- 1:48:51the good things that have happened in the last 10 years
- 1:48:54happening if I had gone down that traditional road and I had
- 1:48:58been married with kids around home by 25.
- 1:49:00So it's kind of like I have mixed feelings about that.
- 1:49:03Been a while since. I obviously had been on YouTube
- 1:49:07last time I talked to you, you were in a pretty good
- 1:49:10relationship. Is that still a thing for you?
- 1:49:15No, it's. Over.
- 1:49:17It's been over for two months. Apologize, I wasn't aware.
- 1:49:22That probably should have asked you privately.
- 1:49:25Sorry about that. It's OK.
- 1:49:28Things just didn't work out. You got any?
- 1:49:33Potential people you're looking at no.
- 1:49:38Not, not for a while. I'm spending some time working
- 1:49:43things out with a therapist. I would be more than.
- 1:49:47Happy to introduce you to some females, but I understand how
- 1:49:52strict you are about what type of relationship you'd want to
- 1:49:55get in. And unfortunately, some of the
- 1:49:58women that I know, they're not a how shall I say, they're not as
- 1:50:04as spiritual as they should be, don't I?
- 1:50:07I don't know if that'd be a good idea to throw you into something
- 1:50:10like that. Probably not.
- 1:50:13Now I'm going to, I've had a problem in the past of not
- 1:50:17really taking time between relationships to figure out what
- 1:50:20went wrong and then, you know, self improve with the help of
- 1:50:23the Lord. So I'm really doing that right
- 1:50:26now intentionally. I'm intentionally staying away
- 1:50:29from relationships to work on those things so that that way
- 1:50:33when I get into another relationship at some point in
- 1:50:36the future, I will have the tools I need to be able to make
- 1:50:40that relationship work long term.
- 1:50:43I don't want to find myself in the positions I found myself in
- 1:50:46with past relationships. Me.
- 1:50:50Are you there? I have.
- 1:50:51I've had people off and are and asked me they said bro how have
- 1:50:54you been able to keep your marriage for as long as you
- 1:50:57have? And I say well it's simple.
- 1:50:59You agree with everything that she says, and you don't hesitate
- 1:51:03when she tells you to jump. I'm joking.
- 1:51:09I'm being. Silly, I know.
- 1:51:11I. Know.
- 1:51:15Because that's all, yeah. Because I wish it worked out
- 1:51:19that way, but it doesn't. I'm sorry, ma'am.
- 1:51:23It's OK. It's been a couple of months.
- 1:51:26I've been going through, you know, therapy with a counselor
- 1:51:30and spending time in my Bible and focusing on doing the things
- 1:51:34that I need to do. And it's, it's helping me.
- 1:51:38So it's just a matter of time and God's will and just doing
- 1:51:42what I need to do to not be stuck where I am spiritually,
- 1:51:47emotionally, mentally in my life.
- 1:51:50Just moving forward, I think moving into as a Christian, what
- 1:51:53would you say? About something like this
- 1:51:56because there might be other Christians who are in your
- 1:51:58position are having this issue. Do you feel like a Christian
- 1:52:03dating online is a good thing or worth the effort?
- 1:52:06Or is it something you think people should stay away from?
- 1:52:12I think it's best to. Stay away from dating apps.
- 1:52:17Because one, if you're a guy. It's hard to get anyone to talk
- 1:52:21to you in the 1st place no matter how good you look.
- 1:52:26But but yeah, I I would recommend for Christians
- 1:52:30watching this wondering where can I find good spouses or good,
- 1:52:35you know, potential spouses really starts at your church.
- 1:52:40You got to look at your. Church.
- 1:52:42Because you're talking about women that are in your immediate
- 1:52:44vicinity and in your circles. And basically you have a chance
- 1:52:49to get to know them and see if they are, you know, worthy of
- 1:52:53being a spouse Inquirer of the Lord and see if they're the ones
- 1:52:58that he has for you. Which is something I tried
- 1:53:02doing, but you're not always going to get it right because we
- 1:53:06are not. I'm not talking about like.
- 1:53:08TTR I'm not talking about something like Tinder or
- 1:53:11something like that. I'm there are little Christian
- 1:53:14dating sites now for Christian women and men who are having a
- 1:53:18tough time. TTR where I'm at, I live out in
- 1:53:21the country and if you attend any of the churches out here,
- 1:53:25it's usually old people. I'm not, and I have no problem
- 1:53:29with old people, but if you're a young person trying to find a
- 1:53:32relationship, it can be tough because there's no women your
- 1:53:36age if you're in that type of issue.
- 1:53:39But what about Christian dating? There are Christian dating
- 1:53:43sites. Yeah, I know.
- 1:53:47I guess it depends on your circumstances and like if you're
- 1:53:50in Brett's position where you're in a church where there's really
- 1:53:52no young people, then you really have no choice but to look
- 1:53:56through Christian dating apps in that particular scenario.
- 1:53:59But if you're like in a fairly good sized town or city where
- 1:54:03there's plenty of women your age roughly, then the best place to
- 1:54:08meet them is in your church. But I think that would be the
- 1:54:12optimal. Thing to do if you can, but if
- 1:54:14you can't do that then I guess Christian dating apps will be
- 1:54:18the next best thing. Going on to something like
- 1:54:21Plenty of Fish or OkCupid is most likely not going to be how
- 1:54:25you meet your Christian spouse, let's just put it that way.
- 1:54:29How do you feel about age? Difference.
- 1:54:31I know that you have this desire to be a father one day and all
- 1:54:35this, but let's say you went to church and an older Christian
- 1:54:38woman showed interest in you. How do you feel about that?
- 1:54:46Well, the important thing. About that is that you have to
- 1:54:51be willing to let God be in control so you meet someone that
- 1:54:57would be a great fit for you and that God seems to be leading you
- 1:55:01into as far as marriage goes, but it turns out that they're
- 1:55:04older and may not be able to bear kids then you.
- 1:55:09Have to be. Content with that because God's
- 1:55:13in control and he will make things happen.
- 1:55:16I mean, just look at Abram and Sarah in Genesis.
- 1:55:20They were too old to have kids. But God said, yeah, you're going
- 1:55:23to give birth to a son and he's going to, you know, be the
- 1:55:28inheritor of yours, of your estate.
- 1:55:31And he's going to basically, you know, go on to father a great
- 1:55:36nation. So, yeah, you got to look at the
- 1:55:39Bible and you got to think, OK, well, if God was in control then
- 1:55:43and made stuff happen that didn't seem possible, then you
- 1:55:46got it stands to reason that if you're in the position of, well,
- 1:55:50you're in the church and the woman that you're interested in
- 1:55:53being with is a lot older than you and probably beyond, maybe
- 1:55:57beyond childbearing years, you have to make peace with that.
- 1:56:02If God is leading you into that, now, if it's just a woman that
- 1:56:06you find attractive and you guys are into each other, but God
- 1:56:10isn't necessarily leading you into that, well then you
- 1:56:13probably shouldn't. You should hear clearly from the
- 1:56:16Lord. If you're a Christian and you're
- 1:56:18looking for a spouse, you need to hear clearly from God before
- 1:56:21you get into relationships with someone in the church that you
- 1:56:26go. To Are there any females around
- 1:56:28your age or at least close? Yeah, there are.
- 1:56:33Have you made it? Absolutely clear to all the
- 1:56:36women in the church that you are accessible, that you're
- 1:56:39available. You don't keep quiet about it,
- 1:56:42do you? No, I don't run.
- 1:56:46Around advertising my singleness, I'm pretty busy
- 1:56:49during the week when I'm there because I have a full time job
- 1:56:52as ATV producer put in a lot of hours.
- 1:56:56I do a lot of different projects every week.
- 1:56:58So usually when I'm there, I'm pretty busy and I'm not
- 1:57:01thinking, oh, advertise my singleness to the ladies.
- 1:57:06Well, I I understand what you're.
- 1:57:08Saying, but you, you got to realize that Christian women are
- 1:57:12not going to approach you unless they think that you're
- 1:57:14available. So you may want to throw out of
- 1:57:17Blue's clues every once a while. You might want to say, you know,
- 1:57:20between working and doing the things I've, I've tried to find
- 1:57:24some time for other issues and, you know, just walk up to
- 1:57:28somebody that you think is interesting and say, look, we're
- 1:57:32both church attendees and I'd love to take you out to dinner
- 1:57:35or something. Would you like to go see a
- 1:57:37movie? Would you like to do that?
- 1:57:38You got to put yourself out there in order to reel in the
- 1:57:41fish guy. Yeah, Yep.
- 1:57:46I know, but I. Will do that.
- 1:57:50When the Lord directs me to, right now it's about focusing on
- 1:57:54what's in front of me, which is this kind of stuff, the streams
- 1:57:59and also my job at the church. And I know in mid June, about a
- 1:58:04month, we start setting up for a fireworks season, which means
- 1:58:07I'll be off the Internet for a month being a part of that.
- 1:58:10So I miss you though. Yeah, well, it's I've done.
- 1:58:14It the last two summers and I've gotten through it so I should be
- 1:58:18fine. People have started.
- 1:58:21To expect it at this point, I guess.
- 1:58:23But yeah, so I will, I, I have a lot on my plate for the next few
- 1:58:28months, so I can't really think about dating anyone because the
- 1:58:33amount of stress that I will be under in a month for the next
- 1:58:37month is insane. And it's not the kind of stress
- 1:58:41you want to be dealing with a relationship while you're
- 1:58:44experiencing it. So you know what I mean.
- 1:58:48I hear you well. TTR, I hope you realize that
- 1:58:52anytime you need somebody to talk to, if you're under any
- 1:58:54kind of stress and you just need to vent, I'm here for you.
- 1:58:57You know how to contact me, all right?
- 1:59:00I sure do. Thank you, Brett, and we are.
- 1:59:04Right at that 2. Hour mark anyway, so I think we
- 1:59:07will just end the show here tonight but thank you those of

- 1:59:32for the new ever faker Pope from Chicago.
- 1:59:36Yeah the timing is convenient Bill.
- 1:59:38And then someone called toxic straight white male said never
- 1:59:42been to divorce court. Been four times at this point.
- 1:59:44If a woman says hi, I say give me a second while I light my
- 1:59:48junk on fire and beat the flames out with an ice pick.
- 1:59:55That's a great visual there fella.
- 1:59:57Thanks for the laugh. Now we know where the song love.
- 2:00:01Hurts comes from. Yeah, that's because there's an.
