- 1:14Kira? Like Machida?
- 1:16Like Cheetah? Machida yeah, like Cheetah.
- 1:19Like Cheetah and also K pop. No, K Pop.
- 1:23It's. Oh, it's J Pop and.
- 1:28Liam, that's boss and J Pop. OK, so.
- 1:30J Pop song but. K Pop trained, Yeah, maybe just
- 1:33say K. Pop.
- 1:35Maybe do you just want to like introduce yourself then like
- 1:38Kira Machida? Have you ever thought about
- 1:41changing your stage name? Because I feel like it's kind of
- 1:45hard to say. Is that racist?
- 1:47I'm. Asian.
- 1:48I was thinking like Georgina. Georgina, that's way easier.
- 1:53Why don't you just try that? Should I like go change right
- 1:56now? Let me just I'll be right back.
- 1:58I'm going to go change. Wait, listen, guys.
- 2:01OK, OK. Whenever you're ready.
- 2:09Hi. Today's guest seat is Georgina
- 2:12Machida. Thank you so much for joining
- 2:14us. Thank you.
- 2:17What the hell? That's good.
- 2:19We need to use that. OK, Yeah.
- 2:21Use that, because that was acting.
- 2:23Wait, where's my award? Where's the Oscars?
- 2:25I'm waiting. We need to.
- 2:26OK, Charlie, pitch this episode to the Oscar committee.
- 2:29Yeah, we're getting nominated. I'm waiting, I already have my
- 2:32dress. Or an Emmy?
- 2:33Do you? What are you gonna wear?
- 2:34What are you? Wearing Naked Love.
- 2:37Yeah, it's. Giving pop star just lace on my.
- 2:39Love that, don't even do that. Nothing.
- 2:42Nothing. Yeah, got to commit.
- 2:44Exactly. What would Georgina do?
- 2:46Georgina. What would Georgina do?
- 2:49No. Georgina would show up naked.
- 2:51She would for sure. So you got to commit.
- 2:53But like, she'll have like a pen.
- 2:55Oh yes, to show that she's an ally and supporting and woke,
- 2:57yes. OK, but like on her hair?
- 3:00Right. But it has to be like, kind of
- 3:01small, yeah. Small, still subtle, but like
- 3:03you. Could see how you care.
- 3:04Exactly. OK, Georgina totally gets it.
- 3:07She is welcome in Hollywood. Absolutely.
- 3:09But OK, Kira, hi. Hi.
- 3:12I'm so excited to get to know you.
- 3:14We were literally gabbing so much prior to this.
- 3:16Yeah, and honestly, controversial because I'm
- 3:18supposed to be on vocal rest, but you've been gagging me so
- 3:20I've been like, good. Keep talking, I like it gagged.
- 3:23Yeah. Do some runs, Mariah.
- 3:28Be afraid. She's scared she hasn't been
- 3:31active in a minute because of me, but I don't want to get into
- 3:34that. No, she's coming back during
- 3:35winter time. She has to.
- 3:36Oh, my God, I'm not doing nothing during the winter time
- 3:39because of her. So you know what we know?
- 3:41We know our seasons. Yeah.
- 3:42Where is what is your season, would you say?
- 3:45For your amazing for you? Oh.
- 3:46My God, my season. Well, I'm an Aries first of all,
- 3:50so springtime is usually mine. Like fiery hot, Yeah, hot
- 3:53headed. I could only.
- 3:54See that? But I like winter.
- 3:56Really. Yeah.
- 3:57I like wearing like the black button to the top.
- 4:01I. Got that?
- 4:03You have that dichotomy in your music too 'cause I feel like
- 4:05your music feels bombastic, confident, like really like
- 4:08maximal pop, right? But then also I think lyrically
- 4:11it gets like vulnerable. It's also like talking about
- 4:14real things, you know what I mean?
- 4:15Like especially title track Bond.
- 4:16We'll get into it, but I really do want to get into title track.
- 4:20You already know, period. Well, I know so much about you
- 4:22from researching you, but I want to get to know you so much more.
- 4:25And I want to get to know new things I haven't heard yet.
- 4:27But for the besties who don't know yet, tell us everything
- 4:31about you, where you came from, how you ended up here, the
- 4:33musical journey. I am from Japan, the countryside
- 4:37like literally bum fuck nowhere. It takes about like 30 minutes
- 4:40to get to the closest grocery store really.
- 4:43And I was the. Like, far from Tokyo.
- 4:46Yeah, it's like. 4 hours from Tokyo.
- 4:48Got it. OK, so countryside.
- 4:50Country, Countryside. Countryside.
- 4:51And so like, there's like my in my town, I was the only mixed
- 4:57person really. Yeah.
- 4:59So you felt like you kind of like stood out.
- 5:01You didn't necessarily fit. In OH.
- 5:02Absolutely. I mean like.
- 5:04You're also Italian, right? Yeah, well, like my dad's
- 5:06Italian, Japanese and my mom is like Turkish, Filipino.
- 5:08So it's like. Got.
- 5:09It I'm like everything. You are.
- 5:12Yeah, so like being like, not full Japanese was like a little
- 5:14bit crazy in the countryside. I was literally like treated
- 5:18like an alien. Like everybody called me alien,
- 5:19really. Like, were you mad about that?
- 5:22I was a little bit, but then I was like low key.
- 5:24I'm not even gonna say this because you're, you know,
- 5:26podcast called delulu, but TT I was low key, like delusional,
- 5:29really like delulu. I was like.
- 5:31You had to be delulu. They they're giving me
- 5:33attention. Because you're a superstar.
- 5:35Yeah, that's how I would take it.
- 5:36That's how. I would take it.
- 5:37No, but I was actually like delusional, right?
- 5:40With everything you have to be. And like I would show up to
- 5:42school with like the most outrageous outfit and like my
- 5:45mom also like she'd be like wear Lori's jeans.
- 5:49I was like, what? Like 7MM?
- 5:51Hmm, Lori. She was a *.
- 5:53She knew it, but she was also a *.
- 5:55Right. Your mom was a singer too.
- 5:56She was but like it was more for fun but like she knew how to
- 5:59fucking sing the house down. Like and literally she looked
- 6:02amazing. She's remodeling too.
- 6:04She had long legs, curly big curly hair.
- 6:07She was a star and I think that's where I get my attitude
- 6:09from. Oh wait, what's her sign?
- 6:12What is February? Pisces.
- 6:15I think so. February 7th.
- 6:16Birthday, February 7th. Pisces, right?
- 6:18Yeah. Wait, that's Charlie's birthday,
- 6:20Aquarius, and his birthday's the 8th.
- 6:22Oh my God, next to my mom. So you're basically my mom?
- 6:27Pretty much he's he's essentially my mom.
- 6:30Everybody's mom. Pretty much he he'd be on top of
- 6:33it, but OK. Yeah.
- 6:34An Aquarius. Yeah.
- 6:35Oh, interesting. OK, OK.
- 6:36Are you close to your mom? Pretty close, I'd say, yeah.
- 6:40Like a big inspiration for you when it comes to like music
- 6:41because they were playing music in the house.
- 6:44Oh my God. I mean, she was a big Madonna
- 6:45fan. Oh really?
- 6:46So I grew up listening to music and also like the Carpenters.
- 6:52So she loved all those like, you know, iconic people.
- 6:55And I just grew up around it. And it's funny because, like, my
- 6:58mom's super religious, but then also she'd be the type to be
- 7:01like, why are you wearing that long ass skirt?
- 7:03Make it short. Oh my God, how funny.
- 7:05Yeah, like, literally when I was a kid, like I would pose like
- 7:08this and she'd be like, no, like, pose like this.
- 7:11She was like you need to give cunt.
- 7:12Right now, yeah, like cunt right now, like start early and like
- 7:16she just like trained me. I think it all started from that
- 7:19too. I wish my mom made me do cunt
- 7:20stuff but whatever, we learn. You're a cunt and you like
- 7:24created that on your own and I could tell.
- 7:26Thank you Today's. Look is gay cowboy.
- 7:29Thanks guys. The entire studio audience
- 7:31erupted. You just can't hear it cuz the
- 7:33mics are over here. But anyway, anyways thank you so
- 7:36much. OK, so you had cunt training
- 7:37pretty early on. I did you.
- 7:39Told a story about how you wear stripper heels when you're 8.
- 7:42Yes, I got my first gift from my sister's friend.
- 7:46And I didn't know what it was, but I was like, I'm obsessed
- 7:48with it. And also like that time I
- 7:50started doing jazz dance and I was like, what if I do jazz
- 7:54dance with heels and basically heel dance, Right?
- 7:58And yeah. And I just like, started
- 7:59strutting around the house to Madonna.
- 8:01Oh, my God. And also this like pop queen
- 8:04that I also grew up listening to, her name is Amurona Mie.
- 8:10She deleted all of her music. Like I'm not even kidding why?
- 8:13She said she's done. She's just done.
- 8:15Yeah, I kind of got that. You know, she's like she's been
- 8:18running that thing for like the longest time and she's like, I
- 8:20served the country is. She a Japanese artist?
- 8:24Yeah. She is, but heavily like I think
- 8:26like her music is also like kind of very Western.
- 8:29So like, it really felt home to her and she was also mixed and I
- 8:32just like saw myself in her. You resonated, yeah.
- 8:35Yeah, and so I was like, okay, period.
- 8:37And so I was listening to her music, Madonnas music and all
- 8:39these other artists, and it's been like my routine in the
- 8:42morning, like literally every day.
- 8:43Oh, my God. Neighbors kind of sick of me.
- 8:46Oh, whatever. Look, they're about to get so
- 8:47much more sick of you. Yeah.
- 8:48They're gonna see you. Everybody went to sleep at 5:00
- 8:50PM there. Really.
- 8:51Why? Countryside type shit.
- 8:52Countryside. Old people.
- 8:54Really. Countryside.
- 8:55Type shit. Is that not the type of shit?
- 9:00No, because he laughed. Because he taught me that.
- 9:03No, it's like literally that. Countryside.
- 9:05Yeah, that's why you're giving country.
- 9:06Oh. My God, cunt tree cunt tree tea.
- 9:11OK, Clock I, That's why I wore this today for you.
- 9:13I knew that. Yeah, I researched.
- 9:15I was in your closet. You and me both, girl.
- 9:21But now we're here. OK, love.
- 9:23Wait, was this the artist that you saw the concert for?
- 9:26Yes, actually. Research Boots, by the way, tell
- 9:29us about this. So basically it was my 8th
- 9:32birthday and I had no idea. I mean, like, I always loved
- 9:35music, but I think, like, you know, it was my first time
- 9:38actually seeing it live. And I was just like, so
- 9:41confused. And I go to the concert, she
- 9:43comes out with like, this big carousel and it's like, weird,
- 9:47like flute, like music. And I was like, am I in
- 9:50Disneyland? What's going on?
- 9:51See. And yeah, I started watching her
- 9:53and like, you know, I don't know if you know, but like, Japanese
- 9:55people are so conservative. I didn't know like sweet, like
- 9:59Trump, he's a conservative or like what?
- 10:00No, they just like to keep everything to themselves, like
- 10:03everything is a burden to other people, so.
- 10:04It's like reserved. Very reserved and like
- 10:07conservative in terms of like the outfits and how you talk and
- 10:10how you are. Like demure and stuff.
- 10:12Very demure. Totally.
- 10:13So no type. Shit.
- 10:14No type shit. No type shit, but you were type
- 10:16shit. I was type shit.
- 10:17Got you. OK, go on.
- 10:19Yeah, And I, like, I got there and for some reason, like I
- 10:22started seeing these Japanese people that never talk, started
- 10:25getting on top of the chair and be like, Oh my God, yes.
- 10:27And I was like, you're getting down.
- 10:29Oh my God, it was different for you.
- 10:30It was different. I was like.
- 10:31The first time you're exposed. To that, yeah.
- 10:32And that was my first time seeing like, oh wait, my people
- 10:35are like having fun. Yeah, that's cool.
- 10:38And like, and she was controlling the crowd and she
- 10:40was dancing her ass off and she knows how to sing.
- 10:42And I was like, I want to get on that and I want to do that.
- 10:45I want to control and run the country.
- 10:48Oh yeah, you are. You're the Empress of Japan.
- 10:51I run this world. Period.
- 10:53We love blonde world. Blonde world.
- 10:56We'll get into it. So OK, so then you see her
- 10:59performing and then you're kind of like, oh, this is new, this
- 11:01is different. And you were like, I can do
- 11:03this. Yeah.
- 11:04Literally. Oh my gosh.
- 11:05Yeah, and I like after the concert, I immediately told my
- 11:09mom, before you go home, let's go to the nearest convenience
- 11:11store. And like I had all of her songs
- 11:14lyric printed out. Of the.
- 11:17Day I was like immediately I was like captivated and I was.
- 11:20Like, oh, upside down. And I printed everything I got
- 11:22like this binders that like put hearts and like my and her photo
- 11:27next to me. What you're manifesting I was OK
- 11:30because you're a little witchy. I would.
- 11:32I am. I am still witchy.
- 11:33OK, tell us about the witchiness.
- 11:36What's witchy? OK, we're talking about it.
- 11:38You do like your little Azalea banks.
- 11:40You're dancing with your little swords.
- 11:42Yeah, you have the chickens in the closet.
- 11:43You. Have my chickens my.
- 11:44With us, yes, OK. Well.
- 11:47It well it's my mom's background.
- 11:49OK so like she's Loki high key which like she's done some sorry
- 11:54mom, she casted some spells to people before.
- 11:57Yes. That ended up coming to her door
- 12:00being like please stop the spell.
- 12:03Wait, I need to hit your mom up. I got a list for her.
- 12:04No. Yeah.
- 12:05I got a list for her, but OK T yeah.
- 12:08And like she's like, don't do any of that.
- 12:09Like just be a good person. And I'm just like, I'm totally
- 12:12not going to listen to you. I'm like study.
- 12:15You're like, hello. But like I've always been
- 12:17spiritual, but I feel like I feel everything in advance.
- 12:19I'm always like 2 steps ahead. Oh, yeah.
- 12:21And like, I'm not even kidding. This sounds crazy.
- 12:24I've prevented like 2 like. No.
- 12:28I stopped it. Really.
- 12:30Two of them. Oh my God, you're like saving
- 12:31lives. I did I Loki.
- 12:33I'm like superhero. No, you jet as are.
- 12:35Wait, you. You really are.
- 12:37I was like dead asses. Might not be the one for that.
- 12:40You're out here saving lives. I did like I save people with
- 12:43music and I actually physically save people.
- 12:45Go off, girl. Oh my gosh, that is so good.
- 12:48That's what I want to do, I think.
- 12:49Yeah, but like, we'll see. No, you will.
- 12:53OK, well, you might be, you just don't know.
- 12:54OK, we'll see. We'll see.
- 12:56But you're doing it though. You've already done it.
- 12:58You did it. You've done it.
- 12:59You're doing. It and it was really fun.
- 13:00I mean not fun that I had to witness.
- 13:02That I mean OK, but now it's fun.
- 13:04Now it's fun. No, it's fun.
- 13:05It's fun. Your resume is expensive.
- 13:07Exactly. OK.
- 13:08But yeah, I have that witchy background and I feel like I
- 13:12have my little ritual coming up, you know?
- 13:14Oh really? Like a humiliation ritual.
- 13:16Kind of that too, yeah. Like everything I do is like to
- 13:20purposefully like humiliate myself in a way which gives me
- 13:24like this little edge. I.
- 13:26Completely agree from the edge. I feel the same way.
- 13:28I think the entertainment industry is just a humiliation
- 13:30ritual. Like no, it truly is high key.
- 13:32No, it truly is like living is humiliation ritual existing is.
- 13:36Feeling things. Feeling things.
- 13:38Like breathing, all of it's humiliating.
- 13:40This is embarrassing. This is embarrassing.
- 13:42I'm embarrassed right now. I'm embarrassed, right?
- 13:43I'm like turning red. I'm so embarrassed.
- 13:46Yeah. Like, Oh my God.
- 13:47And when I didn't want to tell you this, but when we met
- 13:50earlier today, when you came to set you who mispronounced my
- 13:54name, but it's OK. How did you say it?
- 13:56You were like Rihanna. I was like, it's Ryan.
- 13:58Wait. Yeah, you're not Rihanna.
- 14:01I am, but it's pronounced Ryan. That's what I said.
- 14:04I got it. Rihanna.
- 14:05I mean like you did. Yeah, wait.
- 14:08Yeah, S&M was me. I knew that.
- 14:10That's why you looked familiar. That's where I know you're from.
- 14:13Yeah. Oh my God, I'm obsessed with
- 14:15that. Thank you.
- 14:16Big hit in the 20 tens. Oh my God, thanks.
- 14:18Are you having a comeback, Queen?
- 14:21Well, I don't know, it's been a while since I gone to Stew Stew,
- 14:24but. But you gave birth.
- 14:25I did. I did that.
- 14:27Mommy had the kids, did the whole thing, you know what I
- 14:29mean? So now we're just settling in.
- 14:32This is a better gig for me. Can see the kids, you know?
- 14:35Well, I'm honored. Thank you, Rianne.
- 14:37I mean. Yeah, of course.
- 14:38Ryan Ryanne. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:40But yeah, thank you. Thank you for remembering that.
- 14:43Of course, that was such a time. That was such a time, but now
- 14:45you're taking over. I'm thinking over sorry you are
- 14:48I. Don't want to compete with you?
- 14:50Good. Yeah, because I'm going to put a
- 14:52spell on you. Girl I'm scared, I'm literally
- 14:55shaking right now. I'm quaking.
- 14:57Shaking your boots. Oh, I wish you were wearing.
- 14:59Boots. Shaking your boots.
- 15:00You can shake for me. Shake, shake, shake.
- 15:02I'm shaking my boots, girl. OK, well, I want to ask, I heard
- 15:05you have a ghost story. You have ghost stories?
- 15:07What you got for me? OK, OK, there's so many.
- 15:11Wait, I get actually really scared.
- 15:12Give me a good one, how react? I mean like there's like
- 15:15multiple that like interactive like we have a ghost like like
- 15:20back home. So you believe in ghosts?
- 15:21Oh, absolutely. They.
- 15:22Exist but like, they're like, they're my friends.
- 15:25Oh, that's good. I have one.
- 15:26There's like this child that's been falling me since I was like
- 15:29first grade. Yeah, scary till this day.
- 15:32Really came to LA with you. Yeah, like he he flew first
- 15:36class though. Oh.
- 15:37My God, he's like demure. He's a Nappa ghost.
- 15:41He's a Nappa ghost, OK? Lucky I have a name for him, but
- 15:44like the first time I've like encountered with him was like I
- 15:47was coming home from my school and it my my neighbor has a
- 15:51little bit of like a hoarder, but Oh my God, me too.
- 15:56There's like this garage thing out there.
- 15:58You know, they have outside and it's like a little bit open and
- 16:01just like a boy inside the garage and this like garage is
- 16:04like super like tiny. So you have to be really, really
- 16:06skinny to fit OT. And so it was like this child,
- 16:09but his skin was like so pale that I didn't know what it was
- 16:13and I like got close. The more I get close he just
- 16:15like starts like. You're investigating the child?
- 16:17Yeah, I was. Wait, when was this?
- 16:19Like how old are you? I was like literally like 70.
- 16:21Scary. OK, keep going.
- 16:22And like, the closer I get, he starts to like smile a little
- 16:25bit more. And that's when I like freaked
- 16:27out. I ran inside and I was like, mom
- 16:29was screaming. I was like, mom let me, let me.
- 16:31And then I never saw him since. And then I think, Fast forward,
- 16:36I was what, like in high school, I come home and I go back home
- 16:42and there's no one at home. And usually, like, everyone's at
- 16:44work. So yeah.
- 16:45And I, I do my usual routine. I turn on the karaoke at home
- 16:49and I just like, sing well. Yeah, it's duh.
- 16:50You have to loop in your blood. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:52Exactly. And so I turn it on and my
- 16:55neighbors are just like, they know the sound, like Oh my God,
- 16:57here we go again. And then I turn and just like
- 16:59the kid is sitting on the ground.
- 17:01Not on the couch, on the ground. Like watching?
- 17:03Like, yeah, just like sitting down watching.
- 17:05He's a fan. He's an OG fan.
- 17:06No, he knew. He knew that I was going to be a
- 17:09pop *. I mean, duh, everyone knew.
- 17:10Everyone, everyone knew. Oh my gosh, he gets free concert
- 17:14tickets for life. I mean, obviously.
- 17:15I should be charging him. For Afterlife but TTTT.
- 17:18Yeah, he's been with me for the longest time, but other than
- 17:20that, my aunt. But.
- 17:21What do you do when you see him? No, I like literally get scared.
- 17:24I like run out, yes. Like he's just, he's just like
- 17:27smiling all the time. Bitch, I'm scared you brought
- 17:29him to set. Wait.
- 17:31Shut. Up this.
- 17:32Shut up. Oh my God.
- 17:34I feel like show's over, everyone, get up.
- 17:37We're calling next. I do not play.
- 17:40But I'm religious, so like he knows that I'm.
- 17:42Not OK. Same we we all saw and heard it.
- 17:46Yeah. OK, we're good.
- 17:48Yeah. OK, T that's a good one.
- 17:50Yeah, but that's not like, fun. He's like a protector.
- 17:53I that's how I see it. I feel like not malicious.
- 17:55No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I think ghosts are just like
- 17:58confused a little bit and they want something to hang on to.
- 18:01And I'm a great person to hang on to because I'm fun and I'm
- 18:03crazy. You're fun.
- 18:04You're doing everything. Right.
- 18:06Absolutely. Wait, going back to your
- 18:08childhood, so you know how you're saying, like in Japan,
- 18:10everyone's conservative, more reserved.
- 18:12Did you feel like you were like that too?
- 18:14Like growing? Up.
- 18:14I mean, to a certain extent maybe, but then like, I had my
- 18:19own little world for sure. I mean, like, I was really,
- 18:22really weird. Like really really weird.
- 18:25Me too. And it's just like all the kids
- 18:27were just like, not understanding also, like, I look
- 18:29different compared to them too. And so.
- 18:32But everything I did was just like, out of just exploring
- 18:36myself. But I didn't see what was wrong
- 18:38with that. And I was like, having fun.
- 18:39Yeah. Yeah, also, you were a kid.
- 18:41Yeah, I was a kid. Like, what do you expect a kid
- 18:43to do? Literally, I showed up to like,
- 18:45Oh my God, this is kind of like, crazy.
- 18:46But in the countryside we're not really aware of like anything
- 18:50that's happening. In the Western.
- 18:52Side, you know, except really, music.
- 18:53My mom was tuned in because Madonna.
- 18:55Madonna I. Mean.
- 18:57I mean, I ignore that but. Global Icon.
- 18:59Yeah. But other than that, outside
- 19:01that, like we had no clue of anything at all.
- 19:04Like we didn't know who the presidents were and all that
- 19:06stuff. That's kind of nice.
- 19:08Like we have no idea, especially in the countryside.
- 19:10People like dream about disconnecting like that, you
- 19:12know, but you know when you're in it, I feel like I would want.
- 19:14I was so sheltered growing up, like extremely sheltered, like I
- 19:17knew nothing about pop music or anything or pop culture.
- 19:20So sheltered, so crazy sheltered.
- 19:22So when I started like discovering and I was like,
- 19:24what? I'm a what did you?
- 19:25Discover like. At what age?
- 19:26I would say 19. Wow, genuinely, like I just
- 19:30didn't. Well, OK, 14 I would say.
- 19:32Like I would say like when I went to high school and then
- 19:34people were like talking about Lady Gaga and shit and I was
- 19:36like, OK. But then when I was like 19, I
- 19:38like, really left my house and I was like, wait, I live like, I
- 19:42love this. This is my purpose.
- 19:43This is it. Yes.
- 19:44And this is what I wanna do, too.
- 19:45Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:46Did you ever have that moment where you were like, I wanna do
- 19:48this too, I wanna entertain like you're seeing Madonna.
- 19:50You have the carpenters in your house.
- 19:51I think I've always, I knew that's what I wanted to do.
- 19:53But I think like that moment of going to the concert was the one
- 19:56where I was like, oh, like this is my purpose.
- 19:59Like I knew that. But like this is like then you
- 20:02know a clear evidence. So then from seeing that concert
- 20:05being 8 years old going to eventually signing with a label
- 20:08isn't is it in Japan? Yeah, it was in Japan.
- 20:11I was visiting my sister out here now, like, because she also
- 20:13did music. She was a writer, and she was
- 20:15getting into sessions. And then I got scouted.
- 20:18And they were like, oh, do you want to go to Japan?
- 20:19And I'm like, I'm actually from there.
- 20:21Yeah. And so, like, when I got back
- 20:23home, my parents had no idea what was happening.
- 20:25I was just like, oh, apparently I'm going to have like.
- 20:27You're like, my life just changed, but yeah.
- 20:29It's. Changed like.
- 20:30I'm never going to talk to you guys, just kidding, but I.
- 20:33Got that girl? Yeah, like I had a couple of
- 20:36meetings and I signed with the label Japan and I had like a
- 20:40trial session thingy where for like 2 months I had to go back
- 20:47and forth from my town all the way to Tokyo every single day.
- 20:51And I like started doing a little training.
- 20:53Yeah, it was kind of, I thought that was it.
- 20:54I was like, Oh my God, like, here we go.
- 20:56Yeah, we're getting it going. Yeah, but that was just.
- 20:58To try. I was 14 so I moved out.
- 21:00You're so young. Yeah.
- 21:01I moved out on my own when I was 14.
- 21:03Oh shit, that's the pop star life though you honestly have
- 21:06to. Just do it.
- 21:07You have to do. It like don't think about it,
- 21:09don't be scared because like once you're scared like why are
- 21:11you doing it A. 100%, you know, you got to be delulu about it,
- 21:15yeah. You have to be delulu about it.
- 21:16You have to have like tunnel vision and stuff.
- 21:18But like, yeah. And I was just like, OK, I'm
- 21:20going to go. And so I took the train that was
- 21:23like a four hour ride every single day.
- 21:25Really. How early would you get up for
- 21:26it? So like the train left at like
- 21:296:00 AM and then I come home around like like 11-12.
- 21:34You were so about that life. I was and I was like a kid.
- 21:38That is so. Crazy.
- 21:39Yeah. And I was like.
- 21:40That's so much. But I was just like enjoying it.
- 21:42I was like, Oh my God, this is the ride.
- 21:44This is like the thing. Oh my God, yes.
- 21:45And turns out that was just a trial, OK.
- 21:49And so. So what does that mean?
- 21:50What happens? After that, I was like, OK, so
- 21:52we're gonna start recording. They just wouldn't let me
- 21:54record. It was just like, really dance,
- 21:56dance, dance, dance. Wait, so they're training you
- 21:58but they wouldn't let you? Like make.
- 21:59No, no, no, no, no. It's just like, I think we all
- 22:02started from, like, the basics of it all, which I thought that
- 22:04was it. I was like, OK, this is easy.
- 22:06Yeah. And until they were like, OK,
- 22:08we're going to fly you to Korea. You're going to live there for
- 22:10like a year and a half, like on your own.
- 22:12You have one week to learn how to speak and write and read in
- 22:15Korean. No way.
- 22:16How was your like K pop trained? Yeah.
- 22:19Like. Literally like the whole K pop
- 22:21thing. So I like, I was still 14 and
- 22:26when I first went to Korea, I was just having fun, you know,
- 22:29getting to know the city. It's beautiful.
- 22:31People are nice or it's fun. Food is amazing.
- 22:34Is it? Super different from like
- 22:35countryside Japan. Oh, absolutely.
- 22:36I mean, like, I see a little bit of like similarities in terms of
- 22:39like the city in Tokyo, but also it's like completely like
- 22:43different. Was it like a big culture shock
- 22:45for you? No, it's like same thing but
- 22:47different font. Got it.
- 22:48So you're like, I know what I'm expecting.
- 22:50Here I know what I'm expecting, but also like their mannerisms
- 22:54different, the way they carry them, how you know everything is
- 22:57like a little bit. Different.
- 22:58Wait, do you speak Korean? A.
- 23:00Little bit, yeah. Got it.
- 23:00Because they were training you. Yeah, because I remember you.
- 23:02I was watching your blonde ambition doc you and you said
- 23:05you had like 4 hours of Korean every day.
- 23:07Yeah, I did. Like they literally gave me one
- 23:10week to learn. So I had to like get that down
- 23:13and a good thing my frontal lobe was like not fully developed yet
- 23:16or else I would have been. You're fucked.
- 23:19Yeah, that. Wouldn't have happened, right?
- 23:21Don't teach me Korean. Yeah.
- 23:23I was like, I wouldn't know. But yeah, I learned how to speak
- 23:25and write and read in like one week and which was tough, but it
- 23:30also gave me like, the advantage to also communicate with the
- 23:33girls. Like I was being trained solo
- 23:35and solo only but except for dance I was with other girls and
- 23:41they like debuted and. Yeah, they did.
- 23:44Yeah. Oh my God.
- 23:44Like black, pink. Kind of like that.
- 23:47You just say it was black pink. Oh my God, that's so cool you
- 23:50turned to black Pink. Yeah, actually they were my
- 23:52sisters. Oh my God, you were gonna be the
- 23:545th member. Yeah, I was, but I was like, I
- 23:56gotta go. I got it.
- 23:57I got it. You're like, no, I'm gonna do
- 23:59not for me. I got it.
- 24:00Yeah, I got it. Good.
- 24:01For you, but I think I'm in a different shade.
- 24:04And look at you. Yeah, I'm in a hotter pink.
- 24:07You're in a hotter pink. You're in a blonde, if you will.
- 24:11OK. He's sick.
- 24:11So you're doing this rigorous training.
- 24:13Yeah. So you said in this, the Blonde
- 24:15Ambition documentary that we were talking about, you learn
- 24:17Korean for a few hours. You go to the gym, you have a
- 24:19little lunch, then you have dance, then you have a vocal
- 24:20lesson, then you do a session. And you would have a day off
- 24:22every two months. Yes.
- 24:24Oh girl, you know everything. I took notes.
- 24:26I took no. Shit, were you part of my team?
- 24:29I might as well have been. I would have worked you a little
- 24:32harder. Not going to lie.
- 24:32Actually, that's such a lie. I'm being worked really hard
- 24:35right now. Oh, yeah.
- 24:36Because I'm like, wait, this is my schedule.
- 24:39Yeah, that's your schedule. Like this is my schedule girl.
- 24:42I'm I'm you. So I'm a Rihanna.
- 24:44You are. I love SNL.
- 24:45Wait, and then you're Georgina. I'm Georgina.
- 24:48Wait, Yeah, you didn't see me at the Emmys with the little pin
- 24:50maybe. No, I saw that.
- 24:51I saw that. Yeah, it was.
- 24:52It was a moment. I was gonna like tackle you and
- 24:54like, put like powder. Oh, tea flower bomb.
- 24:57Oh, tea. Wait, that's good press.
- 25:00Yeah, I know. Let's do it next time.
- 25:01We used to do it. OK, wait, what's the next award
- 25:03show? We're doing the Academy Awards,
- 25:05right? Yeah, let's just do that.
- 25:06OK, I'll text. You we should show up in the
- 25:08same pin. Oh yeah.
- 25:09Yeah. I'll have it.
- 25:11And we'll like, we'll do the Spider Man thing, yes.
- 25:13And then we'll just Duke it out. OK, got it.
- 25:15That's amazing. OK, best Georgina wins.
- 25:17OK clock. OK T Well, I'm living that life
- 25:20right now. It's exhausting.
- 25:22It's exhausting. It's so tiring.
- 25:23What's your schedule like now compared to?
- 25:25That that's fun. You have a better attitude than
- 25:27me. I will listen.
- 25:28Literally my PA was talking to us about this earlier.
- 25:31I will do everything. I just need to complain.
- 25:34I just need to complain. OK for me I feel like once I
- 25:39complain that I'm losing to myself like I'm like the best
- 25:42enemy is myself and myself only and if I'm like weak and pussy
- 25:46to myself then I. Don't want them pussy.
- 25:49Should I stop complaining? You should.
- 25:51No, but like you can, but like right about OK, turn it into a
- 25:54song. I will.
- 25:56And then that's where you're like trauma dump everything.
- 25:58Oh, that's where it's gonna go. But like the.
- 26:00Channel it's so fun like making such pop songs and like the song
- 26:04is like literally like yeah ending.
- 26:07Myself. Oh, tea.
- 26:07That's what I like about pop music.
- 26:09I love pop music with substance. Yeah, like, like the dark
- 26:11undertone to it. Like that's my favorite.
- 26:13Part me too. I like a really bright, like
- 26:16production, Yeah. And I like a dark lyric.
- 26:18Exactly. And I feel that I see that a lot
- 26:20with you too. And it's more like edgier, too.
- 26:22And you get to know the person doing how they deal with
- 26:24problems. And like, I am such an avoidant
- 26:26person. Really.
- 26:27Extremely. Yeah.
- 26:28Like that's what I love about myself.
- 26:30Oh my God, really? I felt so confrontational.
- 26:33Really. Yeah, well, like I'm avoiding in
- 26:35a sense, like only to myself. Got it.
- 26:37So like if I feel some type of weight and I'm about to cry, I'm
- 26:39like, no, really. Yeah, I keep that stuff to my
- 26:43you want. To repress that.
- 26:44Yeah. Oh, you should feel it.
- 26:46But like, I feel it when I go to the studio.
- 26:48Got it. That's when I like, let it all
- 26:50out because I'm like, saving it. Yeah, that's my therapy.
- 26:52That's why I don't believe in therapy.
- 26:53I mean, you don't because I am my own therapist.
- 26:56Exactly, therapy is the music. No, literally 100%.
- 26:59I can't do anything without music.
- 27:01Like I cannot wash my face without music.
- 27:04I completely understand that. Yeah.
- 27:05Wait, OK, question about that then.
- 27:07So you come out to LA, you do the J Japan label, you come out
- 27:11to LA. Yeah, you're doing Tik Toks now.
- 27:14So then you take a little break for music.
- 27:16Yeah, I did. I mean, like it was also like
- 27:19that time of like 2020 COVID. Oh yeah.
- 27:21You know. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:22And I did some like covers and stuff, but I'm such a visual
- 27:27person. Even when I like write songs,
- 27:29like it's always like me too. Not to be Cynthia, but I see
- 27:34like colours and stuff and like, you know.
- 27:36That's so funny. But.
- 27:39What colour is this? Pink.
- 27:42Yeah. But you know Queen, I love her.
- 27:46Queen an icon. Queen, Queen, queen.
- 27:49No, but I'm not a colour like that.
- 27:51I see. Like the music video.
- 27:54Yeah, me. Too I'm visual too.
- 27:56Extremely and so like with that being said, like I've always
- 28:00loved editing videos too. Like, I remember when I was a
- 28:02kid, I used to make like, I don't know if you did this, but
- 28:04like, you know, like a iMovie, you could make trailers.
- 28:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:07Yeah. Like I did that.
- 28:08I do like force. Yes.
- 28:10I forced my cousin. You're just creative.
- 28:12I was creative and I knew I wanted.
- 28:14I was like, OK. I just want to be in control.
- 28:16Oh, sane. And like, yeah, very Aries of
- 28:18you. Yeah, and I just like did that
- 28:19and forced my cousin I we made like horror movies.
- 28:22Oh, cute Bollywood trailer. Bollywood girl.
- 28:25Damn you, international. Yeah, you out here, I'm tapping
- 28:28into everything. You are.
- 28:29You're appealing to every market.
- 28:31Yeah, you. Love them.
- 28:33You can do an Afrobeat song. Exactly love next EP.
- 28:35Next EP when we'll talk about that, we'll talk about that.
- 28:39So you're doing Tik Toks now? Yeah, I'm doing Tik Toks now.
- 28:41I mean like, not now. Well.
- 28:43Not now you're doing tik toks then, Ben.
- 28:45Ben still is a little bit, but like, yeah.
- 28:48And I had a great time doing it too.
- 28:49But I started like getting away from music and I was like, wait,
- 28:53like it's, it's fulfilling in a way that I get to like express
- 28:56and like, you know, make videos like aesthetically pleasing and
- 28:59it's like fun and all, but it's just like it.
- 29:01Was never Yeah, it wasn't what you.
- 29:04It wasn't fulfilling from me and like I got a lot of traction off
- 29:07of that. Like people loved it and some
- 29:08people know me from that, but like that's not me.
- 29:13Like, they weren't getting to know the person that I wanted
- 29:15them to see me as. And so, like, like, as much as I
- 29:18enjoyed it, as much as I met a lot of people, it was just like,
- 29:21wait, you don't know my lure? Yeah, totally.
- 29:23And like, that's my fault for not showing it to you.
- 29:25But like, now I'm gonna go back to myself real quick.
- 29:29Yeah, exactly. And I'm gonna stay there.
- 29:30Like refining yourself too cuz I think I jumped ahead though.
- 29:33Like what happened with the label in Japan and everything
- 29:36you're doing cuz? And how did you end up in LA?
- 29:39Well, the training was like a little bit crazy for me in a
- 29:42good way. And I've learned so much and
- 29:44like so thankful for everything. But it's just like, I think
- 29:47musically it was going a different route, you know?
- 29:50And also like, I had a moment where I, not going to lie, like
- 29:54I revelled a little bit. Yes, T very areas of you.
- 29:57You know, like I would, it would be like, we need you for this
- 30:00time, for this important session.
- 30:03And I ditch and like go to the club.
- 30:05Oh my God. And I was like 1617, what am I
- 30:07doing? Yeah, but I.
- 30:09Didn't want to do that. No, I think I wanted to.
- 30:12Like, I felt like I, they literally gave me a lobotomy.
- 30:16That's what I felt like. And I was like, wait.
- 30:19And I've never been around kids my age that time too.
- 30:21So like 14 to 18, I was only around men in suits and men in
- 30:25suits only. And so with that being said,
- 30:28when they told me, OK, go to high school just for the looks
- 30:30of it, I was like, but I actually want to go and see
- 30:34like, what kids my age are doing.
- 30:36Yeah. Because you don't have like a
- 30:37frame of reference. Yeah, like nothing at all.
- 30:39So like, and then I started making friends and then, you
- 30:43know, every teenager they started going clubbing and all
- 30:46that. And so that's why I also
- 30:47discovered like the underground scene in Tokyo, which a lot of
- 30:50my music get inspired from, like, you know, I could totally
- 30:55production wise. I could totally hear that.
- 30:57And it's just like, that's where I felt like so good about myself
- 31:00and also like, also, why the fuck not like bring that
- 31:04training to the club A. 100%. I was like dancing my ass off in
- 31:08the middle of a dance floor. Like I.
- 31:09Mean you were trained. For it I was trained.
- 31:10For it you were trained. For it you got to do.
- 31:12It you had to perform, yeah. Exactly.
- 31:15I had to provide that. I'm like, I'm a performer and
- 31:18people need to see this. And so I poured it all out in
- 31:21there. I mean, like I did, you know,
- 31:23with the training. But I was like, I've always been
- 31:26like, kept in. And so I was like, people need
- 31:29to see me. And so I was like, spread my
- 31:31wings. Oh, yeah, at the dance floor,
- 31:34100% outside. You got to do it.
- 31:36You had to do it. I mean, especially if they're
- 31:38training you and like you felt like they weren't even, like you
- 31:40weren't even getting to the output anyways, yeah.
- 31:42You know what I mean? We were preparing for it, but.
- 31:44Did you ever get there? Nothing came out.
- 31:47We had like stuff ready, like literally, and right before it
- 31:49was right, I like left. But before that, I was on tour
- 31:52with their artists over there, which it was amazing.
- 31:55And I was like, I think you're. The background singer.
- 31:57Yeah, that's right. And I was like my when I was 17,
- 32:01I was like, Oh my God, this is so cool.
- 32:02Like I get to sing and like also know how it feels to be on top,
- 32:06like you're on stage and like, you know, see the crowd and how
- 32:09it moves and everything. So I learned so much about just
- 32:12like the whole. It's just a big learning
- 32:13experience for. You it was.
- 32:15Yeah, especially being so young too.
- 32:17Yeah, but I felt like I had like this like secret identity that I
- 32:21kept it on my label and I enjoyed that.
- 32:23Like I, I was like Hannah Montana.
- 32:25Like I literally say. You're like Hannah Montana.
- 32:27I. Was.
- 32:28That's so cool, though. Yeah.
- 32:29Oh, they should have a movie like that.
- 32:31OK. We'll find it.
- 32:32No. Oh, me.
- 32:33Cast me. Yes, yes.
- 32:35I mean, I was actually going to play you.
- 32:37Oh wait, do it with blonde hair. Yeah.
- 32:43Hey, guys. We'll understand in 2027.
- 32:45Yeah, we'll, we'll come. Back to it.
- 32:47Love it, love it. OK.
- 32:48I'm going to play you, OK. OK, cool, cool.
- 32:50Cool, got your blessing. It'll be your biopic.
- 32:52Yeah. Your boots.
- 32:54Slap heels always boots. Yeah, I'm black bunned up.
- 32:57Lace titties a little bout. Little titty titty.
- 33:01Yeah, little titty. A little titty.
- 33:03Little pin. Yeah, little pin.
- 33:05I got it. I got you.
- 33:07I could be you. Yeah, I pre like I'm pretty much
- 33:09real but Oh my God I literally feel like I'm you.
- 33:12You are me. I was researching you and I was
- 33:14telling, I think Charlie this morning.
- 33:16I was like, I told Brett I was like, she is too similar to me.
- 33:19Is this a conflict of interest? Really.
- 33:22Literally the vaccine person. No, we are.
- 33:24We are. You're crazy.
- 33:25I'm crazy. And Ashley Blonde, we're Asian,
- 33:28we're pop stars. Yeah.
- 33:29I was like. Why?
- 33:30Don't you 2 teddy bears like I'm holding this?
- 33:32We're literally pretty much in the exact same outfit but like
- 33:34opposite. You're interviewing yourself
- 33:35right now. I hope you.
- 33:36Feel like I am. Yeah, this is so.
- 33:38Fun for me. Finally I was telling everyone I
- 33:41was like I should be the one getting interviewed why I doing
- 33:44this but. We can switch position later on.
- 33:47We should. Oh my God, yes, I love averse
- 33:49situation. Good.
- 33:51Well anyways, so OK, so now you're out in LA and then you
- 33:54end up signing with Sound Factory.
- 33:56So you tell the story in your docu, you were saying that you
- 33:59got Adm, but you didn't notice it for like a year.
- 34:02Oh. Oh, he's oh attitude no, like,
- 34:06Oh, my manager's sassy. OT he's.
- 34:08Just like me, Mac. Otude.
- 34:10Yeah, he's an Aries. Makitude.
- 34:12Oh, I love that makitude, you. Should trademark Mac attack
- 34:14Makitude? Oh, you're like spitting bars?
- 34:17I am girl. We're in a session right now.
- 34:20Who's the? Producer Charlie, do you want to
- 34:22produce? Charlie, produce for us, please.
- 34:26Anyways, yeah, I didn't see the yeah, Mac's the one the DNA, but
- 34:29I didn't see it for a year. No, I didn't see it.
- 34:34The. Obligation is crazy.
- 34:35Her manager said that she saw it and ignored it.
- 34:38Y'all. No, my red receipt was off so I
- 34:44did not see it. Wait, how did you find it
- 34:46eventually? OK, so during that time I was in
- 34:50my influenza era and I was just like, didn't I feel like I it
- 34:53was a different kind of crowd and so I didn't really look at
- 34:55my DM it. Completely is a different kind
- 34:57of crowd. Absolutely.
- 34:58I'm so way happier right now. Really just like my home and
- 35:02like people, like my stands and everything.
- 35:04My fans are like, amazing. Yeah, yeah, it's a different
- 35:06world. It's my girls in my period.
- 35:08Exactly. So, but yeah, it was just like a
- 35:11different crowd. So I was like, no, never looked
- 35:13at it. And then I saw one and I was
- 35:16like, wait, is this a scam? Lt.
- 35:18But like he also emailed me other than yeah, like and I was
- 35:21like. A year prior to.
- 35:23I think so. Was it?
- 35:25I'm not too sure. He was patient, he was.
- 35:27I would have given up. Me too.
- 35:29Honestly, I'm so impatient. I'm like, fuck this bitch.
- 35:32I'm a go like this bitch. Who is she 100%?
- 35:35But no, he was very patient. OK, T and so yeah.
- 35:39And then I like responded. I was like, I hope this is not
- 35:41too late, like a year later. Yeah TTT.
- 35:44I was like, oh, hey, hey, hey, how?
- 35:46Are you doing? Yeah, literally.
- 35:50And I was like, I'm going to show up.
- 35:52And so like I got to the studio and I had meeting with him and
- 35:55like the team and I like we clicked immediately.
- 35:58I was a little bit skeptical at the same time.
- 36:00Like I was a little bit scared though, you know, I'm just a
- 36:03girl and just. Like.
- 36:05I was also getting to know LA, you know, like I've obviously
- 36:10like went out, but like also it was kind of close to COVID era,
- 36:16I think. So I was just like.
- 36:18In your influencer era was when this happened, yeah.
- 36:20Got it. And so, yeah, I was a little bit
- 36:23nervous and I just like, didn't know, but I just knew that I had
- 36:25to just like, trust it, you know?
- 36:27I mean, I like risks. Like I enjoy the risks.
- 36:29I get that. Like that's where I live.
- 36:31Like literally, yeah. And yeah.
- 36:34And I just like, got right into it.
- 36:36And I like, we started off with like having sessions like couple
- 36:39times like a month, but I felt like I was such on a different
- 36:44like zone and just like completely different from where
- 36:47I am right now. Yeah.
- 36:48But yeah, I was just like finding the sound.
- 36:50Like I thought I knew my sound. Yeah.
- 36:53Until like I look at it now, I'm like, OK, that was like a little
- 36:57bit. Everyone tells me this.
- 36:59They're always like, you're finding your sound.
- 37:01I'm like, this is my sound though, so I'm like I don't
- 37:03know. Yeah.
- 37:04Well, The thing is like, well, at least for me, Bill, I thought
- 37:08that was my sound. Yeah.
- 37:09And I what was it? It's.
- 37:10Like what kind of music was it? Like R&B?
- 37:15Yeah, summer. Walker.
- 37:17Summer Walker. Really.
- 37:18Yeah, I could see that. Kidding.
- 37:19I feel like you bring some of that to your music now though.
- 37:22I. Think I think it's because I
- 37:24just love being like this sultry, like sexy, like
- 37:26mysterious, yes siren. And I was like, wait, that saw
- 37:30me like my music should like, you know, sound like how I look.
- 37:34But then because I love making music where I could see yeah,
- 37:38you know, and it's very visual and so yeah, I thought that was
- 37:42it until like I tapped into like way different stuff and also
- 37:46like it still is me yeah, because it's like I literally
- 37:49like the music that I grew up listening to was like very
- 37:52electronic. I'm in Madonna exactly
- 37:53electronic. And that's like the emunah me
- 37:55stuff is also electronic. And I'm like, wait, why didn't I
- 37:58see that? Like that's me.
- 38:00That's your. Influences too yeah, you know
- 38:02what? That's reassuring to me because
- 38:03the music I do is the music I feel like I grew up on, which
- 38:06was like, yeah, Ke$ha and like Gaga and Katy Perry and like the
- 38:10Pop girls and myself was SNM, Rihanna, but yeah, yeah, the.
- 38:14Girlies, the girlies, the girlies.
- 38:15Yeah. And I feel like, I mean, I
- 38:17wouldn't say I got distracted, but I definitely loved.
- 38:20I think it was more like the melody choices that all these
- 38:22like beautiful R&B artists that that like really I got, you
- 38:27know, I was so captivated by. Yeah, of course.
- 38:29And so. Yeah.
- 38:30And I just like, started doing that, but like now it's
- 38:33completely different. So.
- 38:34Oh. My God.
- 38:35Well, I mean, you bring that to the your music now though.
- 38:37Yeah, Because you would describe your music as like, what would
- 38:39you say, right? Now I'd say I'm melody wise.
- 38:42I'm such a melody girl. Like when I'm in a session I
- 38:45will hop into like the booth and just like I'll do.
- 38:49Whatever your passes and. Your life I'll do my passes I'll
- 38:52come up with, but like it's always been so strong and like I
- 38:54feel like to me it's like it's me, you know, and.
- 38:59It's coming straight from. You too yeah it's like coming
- 39:01straight to me so I think like production wise I'm more
- 39:03electronic dance music and the melody is like this like
- 39:07different flowy and I think like you would love my melody choices
- 39:11because you're like a very dreamy and I love harmony I.
- 39:14Think because you have that R&B influence, especially
- 39:16melodically because I would describe your music as cunt pop.
- 39:18You know what I mean? Yeah, Punt.
- 39:21Pop Pulu. Yeah.
- 39:22You know exactly that, but also like the melodies are very like
- 39:26deep. They're like the.
- 39:27Moves. They're very.
- 39:28Lush, you know they flow. I love, I also grew up listening
- 39:32to Imogen Heap and Oh yeah, totally.
- 39:35Especially when I was like 12. I'm not even kidding after
- 39:38because I was like heavily bully growing up.
- 39:40Oh my God. And so like, I would go home.
- 39:43I would go home. I play this song.
- 39:46Just for now, clean. I forgot what it.
- 39:49Was OK, but imagine he oh, half life.
- 39:52There you go. Yeah, it's half life class.
- 39:54That was my favorite and nobody talks about that and because she
- 39:58became like a big trend like especially last year.
- 40:01Yeah, she has, because there was like a bunch of those TikTok
- 40:03trends. Yeah, yeah, but they don't even
- 40:05watch her. No, they don't know.
- 40:07And they're like, I'm sad but. You're going to bring respect to
- 40:09her name. She's like one of my.
- 40:11Greatest. Inspiration in terms of like
- 40:13harmonies and that's where I take a lot of my, I guess
- 40:16choices. It's just like really in, in my
- 40:18DNA 100%. And she has that electronic
- 40:20thing too. Yeah, so she's just amazing.
- 40:23So cool. So then when you were
- 40:24discovering your sound, you're doing.
- 40:26Like these R&B type music initially, How did you start
- 40:29shifting into like where you are now AMI, honestly.
- 40:33I think I started off with like my first single Connect was like
- 40:36very drum and bass heavy, but also I think it's I was also
- 40:40listening to drum and bass stuff that time isn't that interesting
- 40:43because I find like when I'm in. Sessions, it's always like when
- 40:45I'm listening to then it's like I want to do something like
- 40:47this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 40:49yeah. But.
- 40:49Like sometimes like see that's the thing.
- 40:51I don't really, I don't really listen to music really I don't
- 40:56same. So recently I haven't either.
- 40:58I really just listened to my demos exact same like not.
- 41:01To be like self obsessive. But it's just like, I don't
- 41:04know, I don't really love, especially if I'm working on an
- 41:07EP or like an album or something, I don't, yeah, I want
- 41:10to be in my moment. And like, maybe like I would
- 41:12listen to like the producers, like production that he worked
- 41:15on something and would be like, OK, that's cool.
- 41:16Like can we bring this? But usually I like to just like
- 41:20create something that's like authentic to myself.
- 41:23So like really like original to. You, yeah 'cause I don't want
- 41:26too many outside influences bleeding into my sessions
- 41:28either. Absolutely.
- 41:29Yeah, You know what I mean? Like I really wanted to be like.
- 41:30This is what I'm feeling this. Is what I'm thinking in this
- 41:32direction I want to take it. So I totally get that.
- 41:34I feel like growing up, we're all.
- 41:36Like taking a pieces of like all these amazing artists and that's
- 41:39enough for me. Me too.
- 41:41Exactly like that's enough for. Them I'm not referencing
- 41:43anything. In this.
- 41:44Decade. Yeah.
- 41:45Everything's like the previous decade that I grew up with, that
- 41:47I love and, like you said, like Madonna and like listening to
- 41:50that. Growing up like that shows, you
- 41:52know? Yeah.
- 41:53Because I feel like your blonde project can feel very
- 41:55confessions, you know, It is very confessional.
- 41:58Honestly, but it's also almost like I'm being a little bit like
- 42:02gimmicky into really. Yeah.
- 42:04What? You feel that way?
- 42:05No. No, no, no, no.
- 42:06Like I feel like that's a character that I.
- 42:08Played on that, really for the blonde project.
- 42:10Yeah, I'm going to. Talk about that.
- 42:11That's actually a question I have here.
- 42:13So basically I was wondering because like you said, you lived
- 42:17in this blonde world, you had bleached your hair, you're going
- 42:20out a lot, you're partying, you're like living this like a
- 42:22static thing. I was like, is this a character
- 42:24or do you feel like that's true to you?
- 42:26It's definitely true to me. I think like when I.
- 42:28First moved to LA, like tracing it back, yeah, I feel like I've
- 42:31explored the LA scene a little bit, but then like I was in the
- 42:34wrong crowd. I had to like sort through trash
- 42:36for like we two years all do, we all do.
- 42:39I think that's a universal. LA experience, Yeah.
- 42:41And it takes them a while. It really.
- 42:42Defines like the spot and I'm like, I still am honestly, but
- 42:46like I feel like OK, I know where I go now but yeah, I kind
- 42:50of like stopped going out and I became so emo.
- 42:53Oh yeah, Oh my God. And I, I think it's, yeah, like
- 42:57Sadie, but also like more so like, don't fucking talk to me
- 43:01like Sassy, but I'm like being sassy at home.
- 43:04Who am I doing that to? Monkey Claw, my cats, my 2.
- 43:07Cats. Right.
- 43:08We're right. But yeah, I was just like doing
- 43:10that. And I've always been like so
- 43:11boxed up in this like specific image, which also I think hair
- 43:16plays a big image into like who you are.
- 43:18I believe, girl, I believe that too.
- 43:20Anyways, go ahead. Like what you are like.
- 43:22Your hair color, whatever that character that you are like
- 43:25really represents who you are. And I had like these like 2,
- 43:28kind of like, I guess silver. Front.
- 43:33You know, moment, I know what you're talking about.
- 43:34Kind of like emoish and like that was fun and that was kind
- 43:38too. But I was so antisocial.
- 43:40I hated meeting people. I hated making friends.
- 43:43I thought having friends were lame.
- 43:44And I'll lay you felt this way. Yeah.
- 43:46So you're just. Keeping to yourself?
- 43:48Yeah, I was like to myself and I had.
- 43:49Like few friends, but I was like wooden and expand my friendship
- 43:52at all, like at all. Oh my God, and I felt like
- 43:55connect was literally about I had no one that I had to like
- 43:59OK, let me trace back. I need to connect back to
- 44:01myself. I was gonna say because I
- 44:02remember I saw when I was. Researching that you said
- 44:04Connect was about reconnecting to yourself.
- 44:07Oh my gosh. And so, but yeah, I was just.
- 44:10Like so emo. And I was like, OK, wait, was it
- 44:13like time for a change? It wasn't.
- 44:15Even that I think it just like I.
- 44:16Went crazy a little bit OT. We all have to.
- 44:19We all have to. But like my.
- 44:20Crazy is. Like I will disappear.
- 44:23That's my favorite thing to do. And my manager goes crazy.
- 44:26Really. He's like, where the fuck are
- 44:27you? I And I'm like and I'm just
- 44:30telling. Someone this morning I.
- 44:31Was like, I wish I could just like no.
- 44:32I will actually do that like I. Remember like one of the release
- 44:35for Speed I I was breaking down. I was like, Oh my God, I hate
- 44:40this. I hate this, I hate this.
- 44:41Uh huh. Like I love this song, but I
- 44:42hate this feeling. It's so scary.
- 44:44It is scary and So what? I did was like I booked.
- 44:46A flight to San Francisco at 5:00 AM, which the plane left at
- 44:50like 7 or 6. Like impulsively.
- 44:53Impulsively. Bitch to my cats.
- 44:54I was like good luck, have fun. I got like y'all got each other,
- 44:57y'all got each other. Mama loves.
- 44:59You I'll talk to you later and so see you later.
- 45:02No, like I booked a flight and I like flew OK, no hotel booked.
- 45:06What was the plan? Nothing.
- 45:08Get out of here. Get out of here.
- 45:09Get the fuck. Out right now.
- 45:11You didn't tell your team no, nothing, nobody.
- 45:13And I was just. Like I got to San Francisco.
- 45:15I had no place to go. And I was like, wait, OK, I'm
- 45:17gonna call. I don't know how to drive.
- 45:19So girl, I don't, I don't know which ones to break.
- 45:22Like I genuinely do not know. Don't ask me.
- 45:23No. So I was like.
- 45:25OK, call. My Uber, my black Uber.
- 45:29I was like, pop star got the car and I was in the car and that's
- 45:33when I booked the the hotel and he was like, let's just Uber
- 45:37here, girl, you're just winging it.
- 45:38I was just like, I'm just gonna. Book it on the way there.
- 45:40OK, tea. And so I got there, you know,
- 45:43got the room. It was nice, beautiful.
- 45:46And I'm like, OK, what am I gonna do?
- 45:48Yeah, like what now? And so I got my sketchbook.
- 45:50I love drawing for fun, so I got my sketchbook, biked around the
- 45:56city. So fun.
- 45:57You just really needed a moment. Yeah, I needed a moment.
- 45:59And I went to the park. And laid, you know, you're doing
- 46:02this all by yourself. I was by myself.
- 46:04Oh. Solo Dolo and.
- 46:05Solo Dolo. With headphones.
- 46:07On Oola and I was just like listening to bird sounds.
- 46:11Oh girl, you're like, I'm really.
- 46:13Just needing to like get back. I wasn't listening to music.
- 46:15No, actually I. Was listening to Carpenters.
- 46:18You're really taking yourself back.
- 46:20Suddenly up here, that one. That one and my favorite song,
- 46:23Me. Too.
- 46:25Yeah, I was listening to that. I was biking around and then I
- 46:29think it was like 5 PMI, like broke into a museum.
- 46:32Oh shit, they were closing. I pretended to be a staff.
- 46:34I went from the back. That's how you do it.
- 46:36I was like, I gotta go. I forgot.
- 46:37Like, you know, I. Have to close the door on this
- 46:40and so I broke into a museum OT saw an albino alligator girl.
- 46:45I was like your possible. Rebellion is so like, like
- 46:48they're like just breaking into museums, biking around,
- 46:52listening to birds. Yeah, no, it's my favorite
- 46:54thing. And then the.
- 46:55Next day I went to Alcatraz at like 7:00 AM, and then I was
- 46:59like, Oh my God, I'm in jail. So how long were you there for?
- 47:02Three days. OK, so.
- 47:03I went to Alcatraz in the morning.
- 47:05Like literally like this is with this release of speed.
- 47:08Yes, girl, are you running away with?
- 47:10Humiliation. Ritual.
- 47:11Then what's happening tonight? Yeah.
- 47:12Where are you going? We'll see.
- 47:14Oh, no, we'll see. Do you?
- 47:15Do you stress your team out? Do I?
- 47:20Oh yeah, Charlie, do I stress you out?
- 47:25You guys, He nodded. He.
- 47:27Was silent he goes wait everyone Mina bright.
- 47:29Do I stress you all out? Oh, this is them lot of nodding.
- 47:33Mina's chill, yeah. Mina's got my back.
- 47:36No, I'm easy. She's a real girl.
- 47:38She's a girls. Girl, she's the girl out of
- 47:39everyone, so she's like. But anyway, no, but yeah, I like
- 47:44went to Alcatraz and there. Was this like Asian lady that
- 47:47could like clearly look Japanese?
- 47:49Uh huh. And I like I think she was there
- 47:50for a vacation and I knew she wouldn't speak in Japanese.
- 47:53And I like Oh my God, I want to like scare her a little bit.
- 47:55OT and I like hi can. You take a photo of.
- 47:58Me, I want to be like Beyoncé. Do you know this photo of
- 48:01Beyoncé behind bars? Did you do that?
- 48:04I did. You had her take a picture of
- 48:06you doing that? Yeah.
- 48:07I was like, no, I was like, do you know?
- 48:08Beyoncé. And she's like, I don't know,
- 48:11Beyoncé. No way.
- 48:12And I was like, no, no, no, no. You gotta know Beyoncé.
- 48:14This is her music. I played her music.
- 48:16And I was like, that's Beyoncé. I want you to do it to me.
- 48:18I was introducing. Yeah.
- 48:19I was, like, doing God's work. And I was like, literally, I was
- 48:22like, I want you to take a photo of me, like, Beyoncé behind
- 48:24bars. Like, until that, you can't go
- 48:26back to your husband that's waiting over there.
- 48:28Did you show the reference photo?
- 48:29I did OK. Got it.
- 48:30And then like I. We had a little.
- 48:31Photo. Shoot, yeah, so we were like at
- 48:33on tour, right? So we were behind and she wanted
- 48:36to go back to her husband. So.
- 48:36But I was like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 48:38I gotta get my photos like Beyoncé.
- 48:41Thank you, Beyoncé 100% yeah, I got it right.
- 48:43And so period. That was like my moment.
- 48:45It was so much fun. Did you tell your team you left?
- 48:48I. Think like I called Mac I.
- 48:50Called my manager like the day I got there I was like, by the
- 48:53way, by the way, I'm in SAN. Francisco, it went dark.
- 48:56For like at least a day. Were you scared?
- 48:57I was like, I don't know. What's happening?
- 49:00Could I? Ever.
- 49:00I don't think I would ever do. That I don't.
- 49:01Know, I just like to complain. I like to complain, but I always
- 49:04show up. I won't complain and then I'll
- 49:05disappear. OT Yeah, OK.
- 49:08Got it. We oppo, we elbow.
- 49:10I have to complain. Yeah, but that, that's why you
- 49:12stay and. Like, you put in the work and
- 49:14like, yeah, you're a good person.
- 49:17Oh. T.
- 49:18Thank you, Tell. Me.
- 49:19More about that you. You got me.
- 49:23Yeah, you're skinny. Skinny.
- 49:24Hey, Skinny. Boots.
- 49:26Boots. Boots.
- 49:27Boots. Boots.
- 49:28OK. I love the hat you look good in.
- 49:29Like nude color. Thank you.
- 49:31Yeah, actually, I know we just met, but like I.
- 49:33Like this color? You look good in black.
- 49:35Thank you. Yeah.
- 49:36You're giving Vixen. I am.
- 49:38You eat, you eat. OK.
- 49:40We need to get into blonde. So you said before that you feel
- 49:43like you didn't find your sound until this EP.
- 49:46So going through the journey, you know, you start with summer
- 49:49Walker type esque music and then transitioning the blonde, you
- 49:52get into a session with Zone Madison Love.
- 49:54Yeah. And you make blonde.
- 49:56So can we talk about the tattoo track?
- 49:57I love this song by the way. Thank you.
- 49:59It's such a fun song I feel. Like it's so relatable to just
- 50:02like, being Asian. And like the whole concept of
- 50:04like, would you like me better if I was blonde?
- 50:06Yeah, it's like expectation. And I think like for me.
- 50:09I mean, it was just like, honestly, like trauma dumping
- 50:11into like a song that's like so fun.
- 50:13Yeah, it's super fun. It's and that's how I am as a
- 50:15person as well. But I think it all came from
- 50:17this experience in Coachella where I bump into like a bunch
- 50:23of like Japanese label people. And I was like, Oh my God,
- 50:27period, my people. But then like, they started
- 50:29talking to me like this. Oh my gosh.
- 50:32And so I was like, oh, did. You take you back to childhood.
- 50:34Because, you know, you felt like you.
- 50:36Were different. You looked different.
- 50:37They treated you differently. Yeah, it was so different.
- 50:39And I was like, oh. My God, like why am I like Loki
- 50:42like scared right now, right? So uncomfortable.
- 50:44It was very. Uncomfortable and I didn't
- 50:46think. About it until like I woke up
- 50:48the next day and I like woke up crying because I had a bad dream
- 50:50about it like Oh my God, like unconsciously I was like getting
- 50:54triggered like I didn't know that only brought you back Yeah,
- 50:57it did and that. Was not your entire.
- 50:58Entire life growing up, yeah. And I was just like in general,
- 51:01like. I mean, I love the training, but
- 51:03like this, like, survival mode of like, Oh my God, I'm always
- 51:06on the edge. And like, that was fun and all,
- 51:08but also, like, really, really scary.
- 51:12Yeah. It's almost like I just needed
- 51:14to, like, release it. And so literally, like, the day
- 51:19after Coachella, I had a session with Madison Love and Zone, and
- 51:22I was just like, it was my first time meeting them, too.
- 51:24And I loved them immediately. And I like trauma dumped
- 51:27everything and then got your therapy.
- 51:30And that was my therapy and I was.
- 51:31Like like I need to go. Blonde.
- 51:33I need to like, lose myself, like I need a lobotomy to like,
- 51:36restart my mind or like, rewire my brain because I'm so like in
- 51:41this system where I can't think outside of it, you know?
- 51:46And so like, what can I do that's like lobotomy but I don't
- 51:51have to die. Yeah, totally.
- 51:52And that's what's the closest thing to that.
- 51:53Bleach, hair bleach in my brain. Yeah, exactly like.
- 51:57Yes. And that's where it came.
- 51:59And I, yeah, when I did leach my, I actually was not blonde
- 52:03when I made the song. And so after that I actually
- 52:07bleached my hair and I started like living life like without
- 52:12thinking about anything. I was so loose and I was just
- 52:14like, literally, I'm not taking anything seriously at all.
- 52:18Yeah. And then it feels like you said
- 52:20like as a mix of this. Character and also it's very you
- 52:22still yeah I mean like I think it's I.
- 52:24Thought it was a character. I think like the colourfulness
- 52:28of it is definitely more something about costume.
- 52:30Yeah. But like I hate like it's it was
- 52:33kind of like a costume in terms of like the colour palette and
- 52:36all. Yeah, but like the mindset of it
- 52:38was like something that I've always said, I mean, and you're
- 52:40an Aries like this is like nothing.
- 52:41Surprising. And you said it's not
- 52:43surprising. Yeah.
- 52:43Do you get along with Aries? I love Aries.
- 52:45My last manager was in. Aries and she it was amazing and
- 52:48she was so fiery amazing fighter.
- 52:50Well if you loved her then why did you get?
- 52:52Rid of her. I was about a second clock.
- 52:54Clock. Let's talk.
- 52:54About it. Clock, clock.
- 52:58So anyways. Anyways.
- 53:00But. TTDTI.
- 53:02Love Aries. I love Aries.
- 53:04Very Aries thing of you to confront, by the way.
- 53:05Yeah, you ride. I'm very confrontational.
- 53:07But not to myself. I'm super confrontational.
- 53:10Good me. Mad confrontational.
- 53:11I'm in Aries rising double Aries T.
- 53:16Scary T. And.
- 53:17Honestly, the show started. Very Aries I.
- 53:19Know it did. Very scary's Scary's I'm a
- 53:23songwriter. I could tell.
- 53:25T you should write a. Song Scary's Aries.
- 53:27Oh my God, I might fuck it. I like writing Taking 10.
- 53:30Percent don't. Get me started on Masters OH.
- 53:35My God I'm so tricky right now. You can have your 10.
- 53:39Because I. Learned that it's not worth
- 53:41fighting about SO anyways, but. You know what I think making
- 53:46music can. Really feel like a humiliation
- 53:48ritual. It is.
- 53:49Guess what? I had to practice that in my
- 53:50head humiliation for like 10 minutes before introducing this
- 53:53because like, oh, that's such a big word for Elmo humiliation.
- 53:57It's just like a big word. Humiliation.
- 53:58Ritual humiliation. Ritual.
- 54:00Yeah, let's. Talk about humiliation ritual.
- 54:03OK, first this is my favorite song about you.
- 54:06Oh, thank you. It's my favorite song.
- 54:08I'm not even kidding. I think it's sensual.
- 54:10Sensual. Sexy.
- 54:11Fun. Yes, and.
- 54:11It's like dark. It is dark.
- 54:14Oh. My God, let's talk about.
- 54:15Let's get into it. Tell us.
- 54:16Everything. About the song, where did it
- 54:17come from? So what I was?
- 54:20Doing in San Francisco. I'm not even kidding.
- 54:22Ritual. No, it was humiliation ritual.
- 54:24But I think like, that time was the first time I've discovered
- 54:27like, Oh my God, I need to humiliate myself, desensitize
- 54:30myself. Oh yeah, like Beyoncé thing.
- 54:33Yeah, like. Do shit that like.
- 54:35Really embarrass you like I remember like when I was there
- 54:38like I would I, I'm not even kidding, I'm not making this up,
- 54:41but like I would lay on like the sidewalk where people are
- 54:44crossing you. I know you.
- 54:47But. But.
- 54:49Slay but. No, but like I was.
- 54:53Doing that and I was like. Oh, my God.
- 54:54Wait. Like I'm living.
- 54:56Like, people are like, get the fuck?
- 54:58Yeah, This is the meaning of life.
- 54:59Like, yeah, like laying on the sidewalk.
- 55:01And I was like, this is fun. And I'm so humiliated, but I'm
- 55:05so like, I don't give a shit about anything else.
- 55:08And I started forgetting about the things I was so stressed out
- 55:10about, like, why I went to San Francisco.
- 55:13Oh, true. I'm like, I'm not thinking about
- 55:15that. Oh my God, I need to do this.
- 55:15More, yeah. And so from there.
- 55:18Yeah. I kept on doing and like I have
- 55:21like a thing where like every morning I would do my, you know,
- 55:25like cunt walk outside. Of course you have to, but I
- 55:28would like. Walk.
- 55:30While doing this. And then I like sing out loud,
- 55:34like really publicly, yeah. Would people see you?
- 55:37Yeah. Obviously.
- 55:38Did you care? No.
- 55:39Girl, I don't care. Girl, I don't give a fuck about
- 55:42anything at all. I love that.
- 55:44But like, that's the fun. Part and I'm like that's what
- 55:45you need. To be like, to be a pop star,
- 55:47Yeah. Like because like once you care
- 55:48about. Like how people see you, like
- 55:51how you look on the video, how to be, you know, that's when I
- 55:55like it loses like the essence of a pop star to me.
- 55:59I mean, like, Brittany shaved her head.
- 56:00She didn't give a fuck, didn't give a fuck.
- 56:02And that's what I loved about her.
- 56:03And like. Madonna, like there's so many
- 56:05stuff that like that was a little bit like controversial
- 56:07that, but she was so tunnel vision into her music and art.
- 56:10And I'm like, I love that, I love that and I need to do that.
- 56:13And I trained myself to do that. And so, like I, you're doing a
- 56:18humiliation ritual. I did, yeah.
- 56:20And so and from. There I got into the studio with
- 56:25Jack and Coke, the producer. Amazing.
- 56:27I love them so much. They're Swedish.
- 56:28Oh my God, yes, I get along with.
- 56:29They're great, by the way. I love them.
- 56:32Love and then Gabe. Also a writer love him.
- 56:36He also did kind of girl from Blonde Blonde.
- 56:38Yeah, yeah, I got. Into it and I.
- 56:40Just, like, started talking about like, this is my favorite
- 56:42thing to do when I'm nervous or like if I feel like I'm like
- 56:46slacking to just like put myself back in this like, tight corset
- 56:50that I love wearing. Yeah, just get back to it.
- 56:52Get back to it. But also.
- 56:53It's just like. This like I feel like people
- 56:56take humiliation ritual as such a negative way, but to me to
- 57:01surrender is power to me. Yeah, you're because like I'm
- 57:04owning it. So like before I give you the
- 57:06option to judge me, I'm judging myself already.
- 57:09It's a confidence thing. It is.
- 57:10And that's like. Powerful to.
- 57:12Me 100% and so like I like that, especially coming from like
- 57:16blonde. Title track.
- 57:17Yeah, like, I wish I looked different.
- 57:18What if I was different? Yeah, going into like from that.
- 57:21Into. Actually, let me take.
- 57:22My power back and like, I'm that bitch.
- 57:24Yeah, you are that bitch. Is this the first song from?
- 57:26This tech project, yes, that is such.
- 57:29I like. Seeing artists, like I like
- 57:32seeing an artist grow like honestly just like story wise,
- 57:34like like we just said with blonde being like, oh, if I was
- 57:37blonde, would you want me right? Versus like going into this
- 57:40being like, I don't care anymore.
- 57:41I'm doing me, I'm doing me, what's up?
- 57:43Absolutely. I mean like blonde is also.
- 57:45Has like a little bit of like sarcastic in a way.
- 57:48Like you're kind of like you're kind.
- 57:50Of like gritty about it. Yeah.
- 57:51I was like playing a lot. Yeah, that very, very.
- 57:54But humiliation is just like full on attack, but it's just
- 57:58like I'm in control of everything.
- 58:00But also like we also talked about just like the aspect of
- 58:03like, you know, like the thing when you give an ugly man a
- 58:07chance, they feel like they're on top of the world.
- 58:10Yes. No, I know that, yes.
- 58:11So. Yeah, like that's why I love.
- 58:15Saying. Like you're my humiliation
- 58:17ritual. You're nothing more than that.
- 58:19You stay there. I'm in control of you.
- 58:20Clock it. Clock it, Clock it.
- 58:22That's. That's the vibe.
- 58:23Relatable. As fuck yeah.
- 58:25Yeah, I got that. I just feel.
- 58:26So powerful, good, and I love that.
- 58:29I like that song so much too. It's like, really?
- 58:31It's just so good. Yeah, it's really good because
- 58:33then Charlie sent it to me and I played it and I was like, wait,
- 58:35I texted him. I was like, wait, this is super
- 58:37good. This is really good.
- 58:40Oh, yeah, It's so good. But it's exactly that.
- 58:43Because then also like the relationships, that could be so
- 58:46embarrassing, too. Oh, yeah.
- 58:47I mean, have you seen that? Article like having a boyfriend
- 58:50is embarrassing it's so embarrassing it's embarrassing
- 58:53I'm. Embarrassing.
- 58:54No, but like. Yeah, there's just like so many.
- 58:56Things I'm just like, hey, everything is embarrassing.
- 58:59Everything is embarrassing. Like for your own again?
- 59:01Fuck it. Yeah, but like when you own it,
- 59:03that's. Just like that is true power.
- 59:05No one could say shit. No one can make you feel a type
- 59:07of way. You're just doing it.
- 59:08Yeah, absolutely. A little like.
- 59:10That that's actually true. To Lulu it is true to Lulu.
- 59:13Tea and it's like also OK, another thing that I did so I
- 59:18know we're going to talk about like because I kind of stalked
- 59:21you a little bit. Did you I did give me tell me
- 59:23you like to talk about manifestation love and I do yes,
- 59:26love it and I'm like thinking about how like do I manifest
- 59:31Like I don't think I've ever manifested.
- 59:32Oh, I feel like you've been manifesting.
- 59:35Subtly, I feel like my way of. Manifesting is a little bit
- 59:37different though I think. Like I like to not manifest on
- 59:42purpose, you just let things happen that but also.
- 59:45I've like I. Feel like I have this like weird
- 59:48like tension with the universe. Oh really?
- 59:51That I'm like. If I.
- 59:53Talk about it too much. She's going to be like, I'm not
- 59:56going to give it to you. I used to be like that, you
- 59:58know, I used to be like. That I'd be like, I don't want.
- 1:00:00To save my plans. Because then it's going to be
- 1:00:02like, I'm jinxing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:04Kind of like that. But I have my way of different
- 1:00:07manifestation. OK, see what's yours, which is
- 1:00:09humiliation. Ritual that makes.
- 1:00:11Sense so like for. Example like I.
- 1:00:14I just recently played at Subculture, which I love so so
- 1:00:18so fun. And I performed my songs
- 1:00:20Humiliation Ritual and it was unreleased and people were
- 1:00:23eating it up and I was like period.
- 1:00:25But like tracing it back, I'm like, wait, like I know
- 1:00:28subculture because literally like I think like a year, was it
- 1:00:33the year before, maybe a year before I performed, before I met
- 1:00:39with the subculture people, which I love, I actually
- 1:00:43attended their show and. I was just like.
- 1:00:48Losing it, I was crazy. I like, did you like see
- 1:00:53yourself up there? No, I got on.
- 1:00:56I got on top of the stage babes bitch while someone was playing
- 1:01:00bitch the. Audacity.
- 1:01:03Don't do that. But I did last night.
- 1:01:06No, you should, because you know what I did?
- 1:01:08I like, got up on the stage. OK, here's the thing.
- 1:01:11The dancers were dancing. Dancers are dancing.
- 1:01:13He comes to me. He's like, hey, and I was like,
- 1:01:16get me up on the stage right now.
- 1:01:18And he was like, I'm sorry, baby, you can't do that.
- 1:01:20And I said right. And then when I said I.
- 1:01:23Said. You're just scared I'm going to
- 1:01:24outdo you. Clock it.
- 1:01:25And he goes whatever. And I got on top of the stage.
- 1:01:29I got so embarrassing. I look back to the video, I'm
- 1:01:31just like, Oh my God. And I, like, started dancing and
- 1:01:36I did my splits. Left titty was a little bit out,
- 1:01:40but like, nobody talks about it. That's the right titty to have.
- 1:01:43Like, yeah. Low key, that's humiliation.
- 1:01:46Ritual, but also look at me, I just performed listen, you
- 1:01:51manifested that you're on and that was.
- 1:01:53Yeah, so like I. Love, I need to like put myself
- 1:01:56in this uncomfortable position, being uncomfortable that's
- 1:01:59manifesting for me. It's that's.
- 1:02:01So true, the humiliation. Ritual of it all.
- 1:02:03Yeah, that's my ritual. I'm a witch.
- 1:02:05You are, it goes. It all goes.
- 1:02:07Back yeah to the Japan countryside yeah OK here he is
- 1:02:10yeah I'm gonna start doing that too I just saw a show last night
- 1:02:13so my Co writer on my album Lily Kincaid had her first concert
- 1:02:17last night and she was performing loved it great show
- 1:02:19great artist and I was like watching her and I was like that
- 1:02:22should be me no, you should no, you should have I should get up
- 1:02:24there I'm gonna get. Up.
- 1:02:25I'm gonna get up. Yeah.
- 1:02:25I was like, yeah. And I was like, sing our song,
- 1:02:27girl. But yeah, any whoms?
- 1:02:29Any whoms? OK, next concert I'm getting up
- 1:02:30there. Get up.
- 1:02:31What if someone got up when you were doing it?
- 1:02:33When you were performing? Oh my God, I would love it.
- 1:02:35You would eat that. Please.
- 1:02:36OK, I'm gonna. I'm gonna do it.
- 1:02:37Please. We're gonna do a little duet.
- 1:02:39I'm gonna actually. Like leave and be.
- 1:02:40Like, wait, we'll do blonde together.
- 1:02:43OK, let's do it. OK, we're gonna do it.
- 1:02:45Wait 2. Hair.
- 1:02:47TTT we'll do a blonde remix. OK, take 2 blondies, 2 blondes.

- 1:02:53Gonna do it. Wait, next show.
- 1:02:55I'm there. Are you doing anything in LA
- 1:02:58soon? We'll see.
- 1:02:59Wait, I'm actually gonna be there.
- 1:03:01OK, clock clock clock. So what is next?
- 1:03:04Humiliation ritual is the first one after this.
- 1:03:07Next project is another EP. What's coming after this?
- 1:03:09Can I say where are we going with?
- 1:03:11This OK? Give us the delivery well.
- 1:03:14I'm working on an EP right now, so excited and been working with
- 1:03:18a lot of amazing European producers.
- 1:03:21Yes, they get pop music right. They get it.
- 1:03:24They do get it. And they get my.
- 1:03:26World and I think like sonically.
- 1:03:27Too. It's just like it's been
- 1:03:30challenging to, like, get in the studio with, like, different
- 1:03:33producers because like, not everybody will get that.
- 1:03:36Like I'm chasing after something so new, 'cause like, I, I, I
- 1:03:39understand, I totally understand that they have like this, you
- 1:03:43know, how a pop music should sound, how, yeah, an electronic
- 1:03:47dance music should sound. And I 100% wanna challenge that.
- 1:03:50And I think, like, that's exciting.
- 1:03:52Yeah. I really do feel.
- 1:03:53Like you person envelope too, I love pushing people.
- 1:03:56And I love challenging people and if we're not nervous and
- 1:03:59scared and feel like shit going home, then we didn't make a hay.
- 1:04:05Exactly that. And so I'm so excited to like,
- 1:04:08I've been doing a lot of sessions and they're so good.
- 1:04:11Oh my God, wait, I'm so excited. Is it?
- 1:04:13Gonna be similar to like humiliation ritual or like do
- 1:04:15you think it's gonna be still like reminiscent of blonde EPI
- 1:04:19mean there's like a little bit of.
- 1:04:21Like a natural evolution hearts. But completely.
- 1:04:24Different. Oh really?
- 1:04:25Yeah, wait, that's so exciting. I'm.
- 1:04:27So. So wait, are we gonna change
- 1:04:29your look for that? Too then.
- 1:04:31'Cause you know, you're so visual.
- 1:04:31OK, well The thing is like well. I feel like blonde was such a
- 1:04:34colorful, fun innocenti but also like she's self aware party
- 1:04:39girl. OK love, you know this one is a.
- 1:04:41Little bit more. Edgier I can.
- 1:04:43I literally hear that humiliation ritual.
- 1:04:45Yeah. Even like, production wise, it
- 1:04:46feels edgier, you know, It's like gritty, gritty.
- 1:04:49Yeah. And it's just like.
- 1:04:51It's like Caddy, which I wait, we're so exciting into this new.
- 1:04:54World I'm so excited OK yay and you know music videos coming.
- 1:04:58Out tomorrow and I'm excited for everyone to see.
- 1:05:00I'm for humiliation ritual. Yeah, guys, it's out.
- 1:05:03Right now everyone looks to watch it.
- 1:05:04Wait, tell me about the video because obviously I haven't seen
- 1:05:06it. So it's a dance video?
- 1:05:08Stop. Yeah.
- 1:05:09Oh my God, you haven't seen. It.
- 1:05:10Oh fuck yeah, I haven't. Seen it, I'll show you after
- 1:05:12because guys, it's not out yet. As of filming?
- 1:05:14As of filming, it's not out as of you watching.
- 1:05:16This it is out. Yeah, everyone.
- 1:05:18Oh my God. So I know.
- 1:05:19I also love the blonde video. You love the video?
- 1:05:21Thank you. Fun fun, fun, fun fun.
- 1:05:23She's a fun one. I like the I like the blonde
- 1:05:25ambition doc you were. Doing you should do more of
- 1:05:26that. Absolutely.
- 1:05:28I really love getting into. The mind of an artist you know.
- 1:05:30I mean, that's I was excited to do this with you 'cause I was
- 1:05:32like, you gave so much in that. And I wanna expand.
- 1:05:35I wanna like, I've been so like boxed up in like the.
- 1:05:37Mysterious, but I'm ready to be shipped naked.
- 1:05:39Give it to us with the pin. Strip naked with a pen.
- 1:05:43Don't. Forget the pen.
- 1:05:44We will never forget the pen. I will always have Steven.
- 1:05:46Pen OK. Wait, thank you for.
- 1:05:48Opening up about that, of course, OK, But yeah, the music.
- 1:05:51Video is fun. Yeah.
- 1:05:53Dance video. Dance video.
- 1:05:54I feel like that's something like, even with blonde, like, I
- 1:05:56know like I did the training and I love dancing and that's how I
- 1:06:00express. Like I prefer to dance and to
- 1:06:01talk. We should be dancing right now.
- 1:06:04We're kind of dancing a little bit.
- 1:06:05I'd be moving. A little.
- 1:06:06I saw that. Yeah, you gave like a little.
- 1:06:08Wave, you got it. Yeah, I get it.
- 1:06:10Yeah, you got it. But yeah, I just like, prefer to
- 1:06:12dance, and I'm a performer and I'm like, yeah, I need to
- 1:06:15showcase that. And I want people to see, yeah,
- 1:06:18that it's still a part of your artistry in lore, too.
- 1:06:20Yeah, absolutely. And also like the writing
- 1:06:22process. Of my music too, like I'm always
- 1:06:24dancing in the studio Oh yeah, you have to like I'm moving
- 1:06:26around, you have to. And so I'm not dancing during a
- 1:06:28session. I'm like, we gotta.
- 1:06:29We gotta do something. We gotta do something else.
- 1:06:31We. Gotta do something else.
- 1:06:32Absolutely. And so I did that with the music
- 1:06:34video. I'm dancing my house down.
- 1:06:37My God girl, I'm excited naked. With pin, naked with pin, we're
- 1:06:40gonna have to watch to find. Out, Yeah, OK.
- 1:06:42To see you, I'll show you after. OK, wait, I'm.
- 1:06:44Excited, OK. Yay.
- 1:06:46OK, cunt. Love it.
- 1:06:47Slay. Yeah.
- 1:06:47And then the rest of the project.
- 1:06:48How far along are you with it? Like how much of it is done,
- 1:06:51would you say? My God, I feel like.
- 1:06:55No, I can't. Tell you yet?
- 1:06:56OK, wait, I can't tell. You yet you just you weren't be
- 1:06:58secretive anymore, No. Clock you OK?
- 1:07:03Don't tell us we like but but. But there's already like few
- 1:07:06songs that's like we're like, so like, this is it?
- 1:07:09Yeah. OK.
- 1:07:10I'm so excited. Which I'm really excited about.
- 1:07:11Wait, I'm excited too. OK, I hope.
- 1:07:13They're like, like in that world of humiliation ritual,
- 1:07:17different. They're all like kind of
- 1:07:19different, but like, still in that world.
- 1:07:21Cohesive though? Yes.
- 1:07:22Lovely. Absolutely.
- 1:07:23Oh my God. Cool.
- 1:07:24I. Love projects?
- 1:07:25Wait, are you? Thinking about like doing an
- 1:07:26album too, eventually. Oh absolutely.
- 1:07:28It's gonna be fun and. I have, like, people in mind for
- 1:07:31that. So wait, yeah, you've been
- 1:07:33working for like. Your entire life.
- 1:07:35I've been since 14 clocked. In clocked in, never clocked
- 1:07:38out, never clocked out girl I need a.
- 1:07:41Little vacation any whom I need a vacation, should we go to San?
- 1:07:44Francisco, let's go to. Paris.
- 1:07:47Oh my. God, OK, let's go fuck it.
- 1:07:49What do you know, I hate travelling.
- 1:07:50I hate travelling, I hate traveling.
- 1:07:51No problem. What?
- 1:07:52I hate it so much. Wait, why I don't like?
- 1:07:55Packing I don't like. Planning I don't like OK, I hate
- 1:07:58packing too, right? Like OK, literally because then.
- 1:08:02Passes sent me to New York in May last year and I told them I
- 1:08:06was like, I will literally go if you have someone like do
- 1:08:08literally everything for me and like literally hold my hand,
- 1:08:11take me to the airport, drop me off everything.
- 1:08:13I don't want to do nothing like I just, it's too overwhelming
- 1:08:16for me. When's the last time you had a
- 1:08:18vacation? Never.
- 1:08:19I would have ever had a vacation I.
- 1:08:20Actually want one now. I would like one now.
- 1:08:23I asked. Literally clock it, Charlie.
- 1:08:26She looked at you. I was not listening.
- 1:08:27I like on. Vacation.
- 1:08:29I asked Charlie last episode. I was like, can I please get a
- 1:08:32break? And he said May.
- 1:08:33And I was like. It's March.
- 1:08:37He doesn't mean that either. I'm like, I'm not getting a
- 1:08:39break in. May no, no you're not.
- 1:08:40I understand though, Pop. Star Life.
- 1:08:42You get it? No, literally.
- 1:08:44That's why I have to complain. Yeah, that's my vacation.
- 1:08:46That's okay, I understand. I have to give him a.
- 1:08:48Little bit of hell, I'll send him a voice message.
- 1:08:50And I'll be like, Oh my God, I know I'm being so annoying and
- 1:08:52like a diva right now, but I was a little tired.
- 1:08:56I was like not. Do this.
- 1:08:59And he's like. Charlie's like, no, the answer's
- 1:09:01always no. Yeah, it's just an N.
- 1:09:02O just straight straight up. No, straight up.
- 1:09:05This morning. I was like, do I have to do this
- 1:09:06to you? And he was like, I was like, can
- 1:09:08I cancel this? And he was like, no.
- 1:09:09And I was like, you didn't even let me explain why.
- 1:09:11He's like, I don't care. He did.
- 1:09:14Not care, it's OK. That's the price of
- 1:09:16superstardom, and I understand that.
- 1:09:19OK, so obviously you're a very delulu person.
- 1:09:21We talked about this entire show.
- 1:09:23But I ask every guest what is their most delulu take?
- 1:09:26What is like the most delusional thing you believe could be
- 1:09:29silly, controversial, fun? I'm serious.
- 1:09:33I think. That this life like you guys
- 1:09:36don't exist. I think all of.
- 1:09:39Us. Yeah, like.
- 1:09:40Mac don't exist you. Guys, none of this exists.
- 1:09:42Like I feel. Like, this is like a show.
- 1:09:46Yeah, where I'm like, it's like Truman Show.
- 1:09:49I haven't seen that. Is it white like break?
- 1:09:51Oh my God, are you kidding? I haven't.
- 1:09:53Seen anything classic? What is it?
- 1:09:56OK, so it's. Basically about this guy and
- 1:09:59nothing exists. Well, like.
- 1:10:01Is it? It exists, but.
- 1:10:02Like OK T every single one of them is actually part of the
- 1:10:04show. He doesn't know he's being
- 1:10:06documented. Oh yeah, that doesn't.
- 1:10:09Know. But so like there's like
- 1:10:11cameras, there's. Hidden.
- 1:10:12Cameras like everywhere, but he doesn't know and then later on
- 1:10:16he kind of figures it out and he tries to get out of that world
- 1:10:19so like he doesn't want to be in it well, like he.
- 1:10:21Realizes like he was actually living.
- 1:10:22In like this like set, I feel like I would like that you no
- 1:10:26watch. It I'm it's like so.
- 1:10:27Good, I feel like I would like living.
- 1:10:29That. Yeah, I love a.
- 1:10:30Set because like, OK, here's the thing.
- 1:10:32I love lights. Not going to lie, spill to be a
- 1:10:35pop *. Go.
- 1:10:37You have to be selfish. Clock.
- 1:10:39You have to be self obsessed, clocky on with everything that
- 1:10:42you love I think like nothing comes up.
- 1:10:44No, I agree with without self. Obsession self.
- 1:10:47Analyzing psychoanalysis, whatever.
- 1:10:49I agree. And you have to be self aware.
- 1:10:51Yeah, yes. You have to be self aware about
- 1:10:53it. And I think like when you become
- 1:10:55like that, you're like, wait, everything's about me.
- 1:10:58I'm the main character. Yes, that's.
- 1:11:00Literally how I feel so. That's my delusion.
- 1:11:02We need to. I'm right?
- 1:11:03There with you, yeah. And honestly, that's I already
- 1:11:06know this. When the music as it comes out,
- 1:11:07I know I'm going to be my number one Spotify artist.
- 1:11:09Turn the rap. You have to be.
- 1:11:11You have. To be your own biggest fan.
- 1:11:13I really only listen to my music when I was watching.
- 1:11:15Lily show last night. I feel so bad saying this out
- 1:11:16loud publicly. I love you Lily.
- 1:11:18Such a great show. I was like, damn, I wish that
- 1:11:20was me and my songs and I was like, I'm so excited.
- 1:11:24To leave this and. Listen to my own music in the
- 1:11:25car, you know? But great show.
- 1:11:27She's incredible. Yeah.
- 1:11:28I mean, it's just like. Why wouldn't you think about
- 1:11:31yourself? You have to.
- 1:11:32You should love your shit too. And I.
- 1:11:33Think that's why like living in Japan like.
- 1:11:35People are always constantly thinking about other people.
- 1:11:37So I was just like, so held back totally.
- 1:11:40And I just like exploded. I got that literally physically
- 1:11:43exploded. I mean, yes, you did.
- 1:11:45You're everywhere. You're all.
- 1:11:45Over us? Yeah, You have my DNA all over.
- 1:11:48You. I love it.
- 1:11:49Yeah. You have Charlie's hair in your
- 1:11:49closet. I do.
- 1:11:51Yes, she has my pelvis. 'S hair in her.
- 1:11:52Closet. I do.
- 1:11:53I'm going to. Keep my hat on.
- 1:11:57OK, wait, can I say something? Yeah, bitch, this has been so
- 1:12:00much fun. Really dead ass.

- 1:12:06Favorite guest so far has been Elise.
- 1:12:08I did her in like October, and while we're having this one, in
- 1:12:12my head, I was like, this is like an Elise episode.
- 1:12:15It's like I'm having so much. Fun.
- 1:12:16I was like, wait, we're having so much fun.
- 1:12:19No, we're Kiki. That's Kiki.
- 1:12:21Because we. Were doing it before we started
- 1:12:23to and. Then I was like, now we're here.

- 1:12:32Charlie I was like, is it crazy? Like me.
- 1:12:34Oh yeah. And he's like, he might be
- 1:12:36crazier. And I was like, Charlie,
- 1:12:37nobody's crazier than what the hell I mean.
- 1:12:41See, I was like, nobody's crazy. I'm pretty.

- 1:13:04everything. OK, so here's.
- 1:13:06Do you know anything that I've done Crazy because like, OK, I
- 1:13:10was telling this to Mac. I feel like, I don't know what's
- 1:13:12crazy because like I ohh, Your frame of reference is like yeah.
- 1:13:16It's just like you're just living.
- 1:13:17I'm living. Until someone.
- 1:13:18Like, Oh my God, you should. Write a song.
- 1:13:19But I was like, wait, that's my life.
- 1:13:20Like that's normal. That's like the way I breathe.
