Columbus County’s election board couldn’t agree on cutting early voting sites—split votes left the decision up to the state. Residents flooded the meeting, warning that fewer sites mean longer lines, harder drives, and worse access in a sprawling county. While they failed to cut any sites, they did approve a 14-day early voting schedule (including one Saturday, no Sunday) after religious objections killed a Sunday option.
