Latest / Vanity Farah with Chris Farah / 90 Day Fiancé Season 12 Episode 8 “Love Is a Work in Progress” Part 1
Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hey, fun time, peeps. My name is Chris Farah. Welcome
- 0:07Speaker 1: back to Vanity Farah, where today we're talking ninety day Fiance.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It's season twelve, it's episode eight. Love is a work
- 0:15Speaker 1: in progress. Okay, I mean yeah, that's true. Life is
- 0:21Speaker 1: a work in progress. This episode was interesting for sure,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and it's a Katie themed episode. Lots of I'm sure
- 0:30Speaker 1: chatter about her behavior and it's warranted. It's warranted chatter.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And at the same time, some people like Paula and
- 0:41Speaker 1: Thomas really don't have a lot going for them. I
- 0:45Speaker 1: am going to make my prediction now that the only
- 0:48Speaker 1: couple that should be together is Malory and Rashid, only one,
- 0:55Speaker 1: the only one that makes sense. Okay, But we're going
- 0:58Speaker 1: to start my babes with Edward and Marissa. So obviously
- 1:05Speaker 1: there's a lot of talk online about Edward doing some
- 1:15Speaker 1: like Sammy Sosa style skin bleaching. The Reddit streets have
- 1:20Speaker 1: been like, have you noticed that his face is significantly
- 1:25Speaker 1: wider than the rest of his body and in a
- 1:27Speaker 1: way that indicates that there is some sort of chemical
- 1:30Speaker 1: treatment happening. And you know, I have to probably hard
- 1:36Speaker 1: agree as well as say I don't have an expertise
- 1:39Speaker 1: about talking about this kind of stuff. And there's a
- 1:42Speaker 1: lot of parts of there's a lot of cultures that
- 1:48Speaker 1: you know, super prioritize skin color in that kind of way.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And it's interesting because I'm like American an Arab and
- 1:57Speaker 1: so I still come from a place where it's like
- 2:01Speaker 1: people want to be tanned, because yeah, I mean I
- 2:06Speaker 1: so it's interesting. It's just it feels very different from
- 2:10Speaker 1: what I'm trying to do, you know, just to be
- 2:11Speaker 1: a little tanner and then you know, like have like
- 2:13Speaker 1: an evenness, kind of a caramelness to my skin. It
- 2:16Speaker 1: makes me look better. So it's but you know, here
- 2:18Speaker 1: we are, Edward doesn't feel that way. Edward's seemingly bleaching
- 2:22Speaker 1: his skin. He doesn't have to. In fact, he shouldn't.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And I don't know the process of skin bleaching enough
- 2:29Speaker 1: to be like if he just stopped, now, would his
- 2:33Speaker 1: skin you know, exfoliate, regenerate, and would it come back
- 2:37Speaker 1: the way it was? Does? He just like, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: can you do that anyway? Okay, So this was a
- 2:43Speaker 1: hard walk. Sorry, this was a hard watch. Let's bring
- 2:47Speaker 1: it up. So he feels like he has nothing to
- 2:51Speaker 1: do and he wants to be useful, and she certainly
- 2:54Speaker 1: wants him to be useful, and she's mad when he
- 2:57Speaker 1: doesn't do anything and mad when he does do something,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and so he's like, I gotta do things, okay. And
- 3:02Speaker 1: then he's like, well, since I can't make any money,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'm just going to try and do things around her
- 3:09Speaker 1: house that she would normally pay for, and I'll get
- 3:13Speaker 1: it done. And we're like, oh, okay, you know, and
- 3:16Speaker 1: he seemingly knows his way around a hammer and some nails.
- 3:20Speaker 1: We're like, oh, okay, cool. And he is fixing the
- 3:24Speaker 1: fence and he says that the person that previously fixed
- 3:28Speaker 1: the fence was an imbecile, and we're like, oh okay, Edward, good,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you have like wherewithal about fixing fences. You can like
- 3:36Speaker 1: see what's good work and what's not good work. We're like,
- 3:38Speaker 1: oh great, this is this is hopefully a good thing.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So he does fix it, and then he brings her out,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and then he fixed it biden by making it so
- 3:48Speaker 1: you can't open the fence, which is not fixing it.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And we're assuming that he would know that this very bossy,
- 3:59Speaker 1: particular woman that he is fucking would want something done
- 4:03Speaker 1: a certain way. We can pick that up, and we're like, Okay,
- 4:07Speaker 1: this is your valiant effort to do that. Marissa looks
- 4:11Speaker 1: at it asks him why I won't be able to
- 4:14Speaker 1: be open. He says, that's how he fixed it. She
- 4:17Speaker 1: is unimpressed by that answer, and she also is upset
- 4:22Speaker 1: because she keeps giving him excuses like what if the
- 4:26Speaker 1: gardeners need to come in through that? What if this
- 4:28Speaker 1: needs to happen, He's like, just come through the airway.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's decidedly a different point of view on how to
- 4:40Speaker 1: do things. It's like, you have to be taught to
- 4:49Speaker 1: do something well, and you have to want to do
- 4:54Speaker 1: something well, and you want to be able to be
- 4:58Speaker 1: on the same wavelength of what But it looks like
- 5:02Speaker 1: to accomplish something that you know truly benefits all Because
- 5:09Speaker 1: I would hazard that he worked this whole time to
- 5:13Speaker 1: fix this gate when he didn't fix it, So like,
- 5:16Speaker 1: why did he even put that much effort into something
- 5:21Speaker 1: if it wasn't going to be fixed? Because if he
- 5:26Speaker 1: was like, look, I tried to fix it and then
- 5:28Speaker 1: I realized I can't because your wood's dilapidated or this
- 5:31Speaker 1: or that, Like it would have been better for him
- 5:34Speaker 1: to tell her why it was too difficult, as opposed
- 5:39Speaker 1: to saying the last person that fixed it was an imbecile,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and then you say you fixed it, but you didn't
- 5:45Speaker 1: fix it. So then they go to the other fence
- 5:50Speaker 1: and she's like, Okay, well what'd you do here? And
- 5:52Speaker 1: he really just got border would or whatnot, like a
- 6:00Speaker 1: banister that she didn't need to use or I guess
- 6:04Speaker 1: was extra, and he just slapped it across the front
- 6:09Speaker 1: of the fence haphazardly. And as much as I'm on
- 6:16Speaker 1: his side, you know, with how mean she is and
- 6:19Speaker 1: how like controlling she is, when I saw his workmanship,
- 6:24Speaker 1: I was like, oh, no, Edward, No that's not good enough. No,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I mean, that's just not good enough. I feel bad
- 6:35Speaker 1: to say that, and like maybe we just have to, like,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you know, reshape some viewpoints. But if you say you're
- 6:43Speaker 1: going to do something and it looks that shoddy, and
- 6:45Speaker 1: you know it does, then you have to be honest
- 6:48Speaker 1: about it, because I don't know if I can trust
- 6:50Speaker 1: you for other things. Yeah, it's definitely a missmash of
- 6:55Speaker 1: different woods. It definitely doesn't look good. And at the
- 6:58Speaker 1: same time, I would need to know what work he's
- 7:02Speaker 1: done before, because we only know Edward as someone who
- 7:06Speaker 1: is like a vivacious activities like you know, sorry, activities
- 7:11Speaker 1: host at like a hotel or something. I mean to me,
- 7:14Speaker 1: this person has to like, you know, should get like
- 7:16Speaker 1: a karaoke job or something like that. He has to
- 7:19Speaker 1: be someone having, you know, a good time and also
- 7:23Speaker 1: making sure other people have a good time around him.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But Marissa is unimpressed, like I said, and she's upset
- 7:29Speaker 1: by this, and we like know she's going to be
- 7:32Speaker 1: And I don't quite understand how Edward thought that this
- 7:34Speaker 1: was going to be okay. Knowing this kind of woman.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He says that she's a lot different in America than
- 7:45Speaker 1: she was in the dr And it's like, yeah, you
- 7:49Speaker 1: guys were staying in the lap of luxury, and if
- 7:51Speaker 1: she wanted to complain, she could to someone she was paying,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and then you just got to be there while she complained,
- 7:58Speaker 1: you know, like it was never about you, It was
- 8:01Speaker 1: about whatever her eggs that morning. She of course keeps
- 8:07Speaker 1: saying that she is wondering whether she's taking on another
- 8:10Speaker 1: child in this life, that she wants him to be
- 8:12Speaker 1: like a strong man, that she wants him to be
- 8:15Speaker 1: self sufficient, and you know, I understand where she's coming from.
- 8:24Speaker 1: But I wonder what it was like when she was
- 8:29Speaker 1: with him outside of the resort, because assumingly she went
- 8:33Speaker 1: to the dr and then spent some time like away
- 8:36Speaker 1: from the resort, like in his daily life. And what
- 8:39Speaker 1: did she see there that made her think that this
- 8:43Speaker 1: was a possibility for him. Was he holding down, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 1: like his mom's household in such a way that she
- 8:51Speaker 1: was like, Oh, this person knows how to take care
- 8:55Speaker 1: of people and himself. I don't know. Oh, she is like,
- 9:03Speaker 1: this fence looks trashy and the neighbors are going to
- 9:06Speaker 1: think that I'm poor. And he's like, who cares? They
- 9:11Speaker 1: don't pay the bills, And she's like, right, I do,
- 9:18Speaker 1: and I'm gonna tell you right now, you're gonna have
- 9:20Speaker 1: to pay another bill, and the bill is going to
- 9:22Speaker 1: be for a fence person to come fix all this. Also,
- 9:25Speaker 1: can you please pay a bill at like a pottery
- 9:27Speaker 1: barn for some serve wear? Marissa is very interesting. Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I whether she just believed him that he was going
- 9:35Speaker 1: to go outside with like one makita and one hammer
- 9:38Speaker 1: and get all this done, you know, I don't know,
- 9:41Speaker 1: or if she knew that he was going to do
- 9:43Speaker 1: a shitty job, a shoddy job, and was like, Okay,
- 9:46Speaker 1: let's put this on TV. She is right though, that
- 9:54Speaker 1: it doesn't look good and that if this was my home,
- 9:58Speaker 1: I also would be like, no, no, We're going to
- 10:03Speaker 1: have to find you something else you can do around
- 10:05Speaker 1: the home. Listen, he wants to cook, he wants to
- 10:10Speaker 1: and I feel like, maybe just let him cook, like gorilla,
- 10:13Speaker 1: let him cook. You know, he also wants to take
- 10:20Speaker 1: care of the kids and be around the kids. But like, yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think that she really wants him to have a
- 10:24Speaker 1: skill or trade that makes him feel confident that he
- 10:28Speaker 1: can like do, and or for him to know what's
- 10:32Speaker 1: in her mind at all times and what she expects,
- 10:35Speaker 1: because I'm assuming that she knows that there might not
- 10:41Speaker 1: be extra wood that perfectly matches her fence in her garage.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So where does she think that he was going to
- 10:51Speaker 1: get the extra wood? Like from like, because it doesn't
- 10:54Speaker 1: feel like she took him to home depot for this job.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It seemingly seems like she should have, like she if
- 11:01Speaker 1: she had taken to home depot and then just being
- 11:03Speaker 1: like here by this would so that you know, you
- 11:05Speaker 1: can all the fence could be the exact same or
- 11:09Speaker 1: you know, patched in some way that would have been better.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I don't know if she was just testing him to
- 11:15Speaker 1: see if he can get this done to her liking,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and then he failed that test. He's like, she's always
- 11:21Speaker 1: cutting me down. I'm like, well, yes, but about the fence,
- 11:25Speaker 1: she's right, and now she has to cut down the
- 11:29Speaker 1: whole fence. After she sees the fence, she's like, and
- 11:34Speaker 1: can you clean this up? And there's like a big,
- 11:37Speaker 1: like dirty black wicker table and chair set. I want
- 11:42Speaker 1: to be like, where did that come from? And why
- 11:45Speaker 1: does he have to clean that up? Yeah, he feels
- 11:49Speaker 1: like he is just trying to, you know, appease her
- 11:53Speaker 1: in whatever way possible, and it like is a knowing
- 12:00Speaker 1: for him because he can't even have loud face times
- 12:04Speaker 1: with his family anymore, and that brings his spirits up.
- 12:09Speaker 1: So the next shot is that they're driving to New
- 12:12Speaker 1: York because she has to go back to work. We're like, okay,
- 12:15Speaker 1: you know, and when you're your two day a week job,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you know when or why she got fired? I'm not
- 12:19Speaker 1: quite sure. Okay, but it's good news because she's eating
- 12:22Speaker 1: a gram cracker and Graham crackers are great, and he's like,
- 12:25Speaker 1: I don't want a gram cracker. Those are stupid. She's like, okay,
- 12:28Speaker 1: but they're good. And so then he has a gram
- 12:31Speaker 1: cracker and he's like, yeah, you know what, You're right,
- 12:33Speaker 1: Graham Crackers are great, really great crackers. I enjoy them.
- 12:37Speaker 1: They're almost like American digestives. Okay, he's going to be
- 12:43Speaker 1: in New York all by himself, and he is excited.
- 12:46Speaker 1: In fact, he keeps saying that he's going to be free,
- 12:48Speaker 1: which is an interesting word to say because it's like
- 12:50Speaker 1: if I was going to go to a major, beautiful
- 12:53Speaker 1: city for the first time that I've always wanted to
- 12:56Speaker 1: be in, my first thought was, oh, I'll be free here.
- 13:00Speaker 1: My first thought would be like, oh, I can't wait
- 13:01Speaker 1: to explore or see this or whatnot. But like, yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 1: his first and foremost is that he gets to be
- 13:07Speaker 1: free from her, from her like judgment, whatnot. And then
- 13:12Speaker 1: what happened was he doesn't have credit cards, like we know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: because he's not an American citizen, Like, you know, he
- 13:17Speaker 1: doesn't why would he have, you know, I'm a full
- 13:20Speaker 1: on like Chase Sapphire. But this is a weird conversation
- 13:25Speaker 1: where she's like, okay, well, then how are you gonna
- 13:27Speaker 1: get around? He's like, I have a couple hundred dollars bills,
- 13:30Speaker 1: but he left them at the house. So she's like, okay, well,
- 13:35Speaker 1: how are you going to pay for things in New
- 13:40Speaker 1: York then? And we're just supposed to believe that he
- 13:46Speaker 1: walks around as an adult male without any sort of
- 13:50Speaker 1: wallet accouterments. He says he doesn't have a wallet, which
- 13:54Speaker 1: is like, okay, funny, you don't have a wallet, but
- 13:56Speaker 1: do you have the things that are in a wallet? Cash?
- 14:01Speaker 1: He's credit card and I'm sorry, idea of some kind
- 14:06Speaker 1: or like paperwork passport he should be, you know, god
- 14:10Speaker 1: bless having some sort of passport around him and or
- 14:15Speaker 1: like a photo slash copy of a passport. He doesn't, though,
- 14:21Speaker 1: he doesn't have his cash on him, and that gives
- 14:23Speaker 1: her pause, and it, unfortunately also gives me pause because
- 14:27Speaker 1: he is an older gentleman. This is not like a
- 14:29Speaker 1: twenty three year old. This is someone who walks around
- 14:32Speaker 1: all the time. And maybe he's like, I don't need
- 14:34Speaker 1: cash where I am most of the time, but we
- 14:36Speaker 1: have to assume that he has the wherewithal to know
- 14:39Speaker 1: that in New York City, you need stuff? Was he
- 14:44Speaker 1: just not gonna eat all day? Did he expect her
- 14:47Speaker 1: to give him like a twenty? Like? Is he like
- 14:51Speaker 1: Alison da Shay, like I'm gonna get ten dollars or
- 14:54Speaker 1: the Biscuits or my family? She says, they live very
- 15:00Speaker 1: different lifestyles. We know, but we thought you already understood this.
- 15:05Speaker 1: She definitely talked about and is right that they are
- 15:13Speaker 1: different people. But I still don't know where and where
- 15:18Speaker 1: she feels like he wins Immerius's mind. What are the
- 15:29Speaker 1: heroic acts that Edward does that makes her like fall
- 15:33Speaker 1: in love with him. I'm not saying that like every
- 15:35Speaker 1: female has to look at a man and be like
- 15:37Speaker 1: he's a hero, but like, there are things when you
- 15:40Speaker 1: like someone that you feel like in dear them to you.
- 15:47Speaker 1: And it usually is like ways in which they succeed
- 15:51Speaker 1: in areas of their lives. And it can be like
- 15:54Speaker 1: when I say succeed, it can be like and how
- 15:56Speaker 1: kind and compassionate they are to people in how they
- 15:59Speaker 1: connect with people, and you know the way that they
- 16:02Speaker 1: do this one talented thing, the way they play guitar,
- 16:04Speaker 1: the way that they you know, it's like, what are
- 16:06Speaker 1: the things that he does that she looks at and like,
- 16:10Speaker 1: you know, when she's in witness of She's like, oh
- 16:12Speaker 1: my god, yes he did it. He is awesome. It
- 16:18Speaker 1: can't just be having sex with her, and if it is,
- 16:20Speaker 1: that's not good enough and why wouldn't she know that? Okay,
- 16:28Speaker 1: so she's just like, I don't have bandwidth more so
- 16:42Speaker 1: than in the crazy parts of my day to be
- 16:45Speaker 1: able to take care of you as well. And he's like,
- 16:48Speaker 1: what I mean when you say that you're choosing your life.
- 16:52Speaker 1: You're a grown hoss woman. So if you don't have bandwidth,
- 16:55Speaker 1: that's on you for doing too much. And she he
- 17:00Speaker 1: does not like this answer, because in her mind, she
- 17:04Speaker 1: wants him to be like, maybe, don't worry. I'm not
- 17:07Speaker 1: going to cause too much strain on you. I'm going
- 17:09Speaker 1: to step up and take this off your play and
- 17:11Speaker 1: take that off your play. You don't have to worry
- 17:13Speaker 1: about me. I know how to bring cash around and
- 17:15Speaker 1: move in this world. And that's what she wants him
- 17:18Speaker 1: to say, but what he hears is like a spoiled
- 17:22Speaker 1: brat complaining about her life that she chooses to live
- 17:29Speaker 1: every day. He's like, if you don't want this job,
- 17:34Speaker 1: let's go get some miniatures and you can manifest a
- 17:36Speaker 1: new job. Okay, it doesn't look good for them, it
- 17:42Speaker 1: truly doesn't. I mean it. Also, I think that this
- 17:46Speaker 1: is how I choose whether I like a couple. Could
- 17:51Speaker 1: I spend time with them, like over dinner, like would
- 17:55Speaker 1: I be like charmed by them in a soul setting?
- 18:01Speaker 1: And you know, with them Marissa and Edward, I truly wouldn't.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to hear her talk to him or
- 18:07Speaker 1: put him down. I wouldn't want to see him roll
- 18:10Speaker 1: his eyes because he knows that she like is too much.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to see you know, him do something
- 18:17Speaker 1: he thinks he does well and in fact it's not
- 18:20Speaker 1: at least up to snuff for her. And I can
- 18:24Speaker 1: recognize that, you know what I'm saying. Whereas like you would,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I mean, I would be so happy to have a
- 18:31Speaker 1: meal with Rashid. He's so funny to me. Okay, let's
- 18:35Speaker 1: move on. Okay, Katie and Josh, so he's like outside
- 18:43Speaker 1: with her and Ryan. And Ryan has just dropped that
- 18:48Speaker 1: he talks to Katie and he's here because he knows
- 18:52Speaker 1: that she is dealing with whatever she's going to want
- 18:54Speaker 1: in her life and Josh is like, well, what we're
- 18:59Speaker 1: doing is we're going to get married, and Katie is like,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I think so, which is a bad sign. Then Katie
- 19:07Speaker 1: admits that she is the problem. She says it like
- 19:10Speaker 1: I'm the problem. He's like, well, no, I think it's
- 19:12Speaker 1: fifty to fifty. We're like, okay, you know. It's like, Josh,
- 19:16Speaker 1: your problem is you don't stand up for yourself or
- 19:21Speaker 1: assert your boundaries. But it's I mean, if that's your problem,
- 19:27Speaker 1: you don't respect yourself or the way that you want
- 19:29Speaker 1: to be treated enough to demand it low key in
- 19:33Speaker 1: a relationship. He's like, Josh to Ryan's like, why are
- 19:39Speaker 1: you here? And I told you I never wanted to
- 19:42Speaker 1: see you again. And Ryan's like, well, Katie is hard
- 19:45Speaker 1: to say no to that crazy bitch. She's so funny,
- 19:50Speaker 1: she's so great, she's so charming, she's so eccentric. He
- 19:54Speaker 1: can't say no to her, especially when you're drunk, and
- 19:57Speaker 1: especially when you want to get kissed as well and more,
- 19:59Speaker 1: and you have a drunk Katie being like, man, I
- 20:03Speaker 1: can't say no, no, I say no to you. I
- 20:08Speaker 1: won't say no to her. Josh takes this moment to
- 20:14Speaker 1: blame Ryan for the Katie cheating situation. He's like, you
- 20:20Speaker 1: knew we were together and you did the things anyway.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Katie's just there in the middle being like, yeah, he
- 20:27Speaker 1: did the things anyway. See, like, I hate when people
- 20:36Speaker 1: seemingly blame the person that their lover cheated with instead
- 20:44Speaker 1: of their lover. Like I think it's a moot point
- 20:46Speaker 1: to even talk to Ryan. But also I feel like
- 20:48Speaker 1: you see this a lot, you know, ladies doing like
- 20:51Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of like the Debbie getting mad
- 20:54Speaker 1: at Meadows social media co star and one post where
- 21:00Speaker 1: she's like, fuck that bitch, but you're just like, Nope,
- 21:03Speaker 1: that's exactly what you should be saying to Meto. You know.
- 21:06Speaker 1: By the way, we don't have any Meto this episode,
- 21:10Speaker 1: which was devastating. I mean, I think that's what made
- 21:15Speaker 1: it not a great episode. Okay, anyway, So Katie's like,
- 21:22Speaker 1: you don't have to worry about Ryan. We're just like
- 21:24Speaker 1: chill friends now, which is so like Generation Z or whatever.
- 21:30Speaker 1: We're just chill friends now. We're just chill friends as
- 21:33Speaker 1: supposed to fuck friends. So this talk ends with absolutely
- 21:42Speaker 1: no resolution, except now Josh and Katie are standing side
- 21:46Speaker 1: by side and she's like do you think I can
- 21:48Speaker 1: make out with everyone we know? And he's like no,
- 21:52Speaker 1: and she's clearly drunk and she's like, I've only had
- 21:54Speaker 1: one tequila and that's not true. And then she's like
- 21:57Speaker 1: I want an espresso martini and he's like, how about
- 21:59Speaker 1: walk her? And she's not happy with that answer, so
- 22:03Speaker 1: she floats over to her other friends and then immediately
- 22:07Speaker 1: does like we can only be described as like a
- 22:11Speaker 1: weird full backbend to get at her friend's faces. No,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I find it. Sorry, it's oh I thought I have
- 22:26Speaker 1: a better picture. Okay, sorry. Anyway, Basically what happened was
- 22:34Speaker 1: she gets back and starts talking with Ryan, and I
- 22:37Speaker 1: mean after he had his confrontation with Josh, she tries
- 22:43Speaker 1: to make out with Ryan. Ryan's like stop it, don't
- 22:46Speaker 1: do it. And then Josh watches that happen, and then
- 22:51Speaker 1: her other friend walks outside and is like, hey, Josh,
- 22:55Speaker 1: what's your take on what's happening in there? And he
- 23:00Speaker 1: asks this question we know. The producers are like, you
- 23:02Speaker 1: need to go ask Josh a question because Josh has
- 23:04Speaker 1: no friends, so they need someone to do this leg work,
- 23:07Speaker 1: and this man's going to do it. And this is
- 23:09Speaker 1: the most produci producer led question, and the problem is
- 23:14Speaker 1: you should give this guy like a little bit of
- 23:17Speaker 1: a soft intro, like, hey, hey Josh, how are you man? Yeah,
- 23:24Speaker 1: how's it been going? You get that table? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 1: well you look nice. This is nice jacket. Yeah yeah.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I just wanted to see, like how you're doing. Man.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I know she's she's already you know, having fun in there.
- 23:37Speaker 1: And then Josh is like, you saw that, and the
- 23:39Speaker 1: guy's like, yeah, I saw, but what what are you thinking?
- 23:44Speaker 1: You know, like that's the intro. You need to not
- 23:47Speaker 1: have an abrupt Hey, Josh, what's your take on what's
- 23:51Speaker 1: happening in there? What's your take? That's just so hosty. Meanwhile,
- 24:00Speaker 1: her take is that she's like I am in normal mode,
- 24:04Speaker 1: just kidding. I want to be in a crazy mode.
- 24:06Speaker 1: She's like, you know, fully running around. This guy talks
- 24:11Speaker 1: to Josh and he's like, you need to be respected
- 24:14Speaker 1: and at some point you got to put your foot down.
- 24:15Speaker 1: And Josh was like, well, you know, she's just so
- 24:19Speaker 1: good at one in back hearts. I don't know what
- 24:21Speaker 1: my problem is. It's either my timidness or it's britishness.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And we're like mm m I guess I don't know
- 24:30Speaker 1: if this guy. I think everyone's name is Ryan here
- 24:32Speaker 1: and I wrote down I know Ryan's the other guy,
- 24:34Speaker 1: and maybe this guy's name Ryan too. I think there's
- 24:36Speaker 1: too many Ryan's. I forgot what this guy's name outside,
- 24:38Speaker 1: But it's not the first Ryan, not the Ryan that
- 24:39Speaker 1: she made out with that in Boston. But this other
- 24:41Speaker 1: guy is like, Josh is not a manly man, is
- 24:45Speaker 1: what he says? Yeah, that's true. And then she goes
- 24:51Speaker 1: in and tries to make out with that guy and
- 24:53Speaker 1: he's like nope, and he's like pushing her face. He's like, no, Katie,
- 24:58Speaker 1: stop it, and she's like, what am I doing wrong?
- 25:02Speaker 1: And Josh walks up and he like sees that, and
- 25:05Speaker 1: she's like what I mean. This is one of the
- 25:12Speaker 1: more bizarre scenes to witness, and it feels violating for
- 25:19Speaker 1: us to watch it because we're either watching someone like
- 25:22Speaker 1: in a psychosis or super hard dealing with OCD. But
- 25:26Speaker 1: at the same time, she just keeps telling people that
- 25:29Speaker 1: this is a problem, but then it keeps happening and
- 25:32Speaker 1: no one seems to be able to do anything or
- 25:35Speaker 1: help her through it. But also it's because she doesn't
- 25:39Speaker 1: want to be helped through it. Like it doesn't seemingly
- 25:43Speaker 1: seem like she wants to not be in a situation
- 25:49Speaker 1: where she's drunk making out with people. It very much
- 25:53Speaker 1: seems like she wants to be in a situation where
- 25:56Speaker 1: she's drunk and has the like the excuse of alcohol
- 26:02Speaker 1: to lessen her inhibitions and therefore make out with all
- 26:06Speaker 1: the people and therefore feel the love and validation she
- 26:09Speaker 1: really wants to feel. It's kind of like, and this
- 26:14Speaker 1: is what's shitty about it. It's like someone on a
- 26:18Speaker 1: season just being like, I'm an addict, I'm an addict,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I'm an addict. And then what we keep watching is
- 26:24Speaker 1: this person go score their drugs and then shoot up
- 26:29Speaker 1: on camera over and over again. It's like intervention, I
- 26:33Speaker 1: guess in that way. But it's a really hard watch because,
- 26:38Speaker 1: you know, I think that it leads us with a
- 26:41Speaker 1: bunch of questions like where is her psychologist? And does
- 26:47Speaker 1: does she actually want help? Because she's cognitively, you know,
- 26:55Speaker 1: able to understand her situation, but she's so defensive and
- 26:59Speaker 1: she keeps putting herself in this situation and no one's
- 27:02Speaker 1: helping her, and it's because they know she doesn't want
- 27:05Speaker 1: help or she would get mad that like, we just
- 27:08Speaker 1: keep watching it. It's so awkward. You would neither need
- 27:13Speaker 1: her to just be like, you know what, I want
- 27:15Speaker 1: to be single obviously, and then you can follow me
- 27:19Speaker 1: on single life where I'm single and making out with
- 27:22Speaker 1: all the people I want to and that's what's happening.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Because I probably would watch that. I would watch it
- 27:30Speaker 1: like it's only awkward for me in that she says
- 27:33Speaker 1: that this is a problem and you know, and she's
- 27:36Speaker 1: acknowledging it, and then she just won't fix it. But
- 27:38Speaker 1: if she's like this is where I am. I'm a
- 27:40Speaker 1: young girl and a guys fucking love me, and I like,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, having fun in Portland and drinking, and this
- 27:45Speaker 1: is what I want to do, it like, well, okay,
- 27:48Speaker 1: because if you took away like the OCD and you
- 27:53Speaker 1: took away that you were just like this girl likes
- 27:55Speaker 1: getting drunk and making out with people. It's not so
- 28:00Speaker 1: different from what other people are doing her age. They
- 28:03Speaker 1: just don't think it's a problem. Like a lot of
- 28:08Speaker 1: young kids live in cities and go out at night
- 28:11Speaker 1: and like hook up with people. What makes it awkward
- 28:18Speaker 1: is that she's like and I'm in a committed relationship
- 28:20Speaker 1: with this dufist who really wants this relationship, and he
- 28:24Speaker 1: refuses to tell me that it's that it's hurting him.
- 28:27Speaker 1: That's the only annoying thing about watching the story. And
- 28:31Speaker 1: I'm also like annoyed because she gets a lot of
- 28:34Speaker 1: hate online and I get why. I get why, But
- 28:37Speaker 1: at the same time, I'm like, she's doing herself no favors,
- 28:42Speaker 1: but neither is Debbie. You know, for all of the
- 28:44Speaker 1: Meto hate online, Debbie has done absolutely no favors for
- 28:48Speaker 1: herself by continually allowing it. Debbie is the Josh where
- 28:55Speaker 1: we just see their other uh choosing to do harm
- 29:01Speaker 1: and they're like willing to put up with it. Like
- 29:05Speaker 1: if Mito was just an obnoxious person that wanted to
- 29:08Speaker 1: be an actor and had you know, foolish, delusional dreams,
- 29:12Speaker 1: and we could just watch this person try and make
- 29:15Speaker 1: it in Louisiana as opposed to La like, it would
- 29:18Speaker 1: be like hilarious, right, and he'd be like prancing around
- 29:21Speaker 1: and like you know, taking an acting class, and we'd
- 29:23Speaker 1: be like, oh, this ridiculous person. Like it would be
- 29:26Speaker 1: a little more lighthearted, except what makes it dark is
- 29:30Speaker 1: that this person is using Debbie and like lying to
- 29:33Speaker 1: her and this Debbie's getting so upset about it. Like
- 29:35Speaker 1: that's what makes it a real toxic situation that those
- 29:41Speaker 1: that are my thoughts, Those are my thoughts about that.
- 29:43Speaker 1: But you know what I mean. Okay, let's talk about
- 29:48Speaker 1: Paula and Thomas. So she has been ordering more miniatures
- 29:58Speaker 1: and he finds them to be a waste of time
- 30:01Speaker 1: and a waste of cash, and she's like, they're my
- 30:06Speaker 1: religion and sometimes I cry when I think about how
- 30:09Speaker 1: much I love them. And he's like, oh my god.
- 30:11Speaker 1: She's gotten a bunch of packages recently, and so they
- 30:13Speaker 1: open one up and it's like a mini couch and
- 30:19Speaker 1: she's like, I love it. He's like, how much was this?
- 30:22Speaker 1: And she's like I got it on clearance, which is hilarious.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It's something I would say too. She's like, I want
- 30:32Speaker 1: a couch. So if you don't want me to have this,
- 30:36Speaker 1: buy me a couch. It makes sense for her to
- 30:41Speaker 1: want furniture, just like it makes sense for Josh to
- 30:45Speaker 1: want furniture. People want to live in a space that
- 30:50Speaker 1: looks and feels livable, and I don't think it's too
- 30:58Speaker 1: much to ask if Tom miss can afford to get
- 31:01Speaker 1: her a credit card, to just get her a fucking
- 31:03Speaker 1: couch set. You can just go to living Space, as Josh,
- 31:08Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, and get that done. Er
- 31:10Speaker 1: Ashley's furniture. I mean, get a Memorial Day sale or something, Honey,
- 31:14Speaker 1: go to Costco. By the way, it's so funny because
- 31:22Speaker 1: he's complaining right about money to her and says that
- 31:24Speaker 1: all her things that she buys are like so stupid
- 31:27Speaker 1: and you know, it's not necessary. And then he at
- 31:29Speaker 1: one point he sits down to three different huge ass
- 31:33Speaker 1: monitors with like two different Rubik's cubes and they, you know,
- 31:41Speaker 1: censor the screen so we can't see, but it's very
- 31:43Speaker 1: obvious that he's playing some weird game. We're like, oh,
- 31:46Speaker 1: that's what you spend your money on. Okay, He's like,
- 31:48Speaker 1: it's my money. I don't know, I don't know why
- 31:50Speaker 1: he's arguing with me in my head. So the good
- 31:53Speaker 1: news is Paala has met two other Brazilians that live
- 31:56Speaker 1: in the same building, Felix and Anderson. And Felix and
- 32:00Speaker 1: Ander center are two cute gay guys that wear navy
- 32:03Speaker 1: and have an apartment that they put a lot of
- 32:07Speaker 1: time and energy to decorate, although it looks just kind
- 32:09Speaker 1: of like the apartment that this building uses to sell
- 32:14Speaker 1: other apartments. It's like a show piece apartment. All of
- 32:19Speaker 1: their apartment has like modern furniture with an emphasis on shape.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Some are just like planters on a square, and then
- 32:29Speaker 1: there's a lot of circles happening. It's just like a shapely, geometric,
- 32:32Speaker 1: modern kind of industrial looking apartment and it's not really
- 32:36Speaker 1: real looking. But she, you know, goes in. She's like,
- 32:39Speaker 1: I loved things that look staged. And she's like, see
- 32:42Speaker 1: how you have furniture that's not what's happening in his apartment.
- 32:45Speaker 1: He has nothing on the walls, there's no sconces to
- 32:47Speaker 1: be had. He won't even get a rug, honey, he
- 32:49Speaker 1: won't get a rug. And these two gay guys are like,
- 32:51Speaker 1: absolutely fucking not, that's crazy, and you know they're right
- 32:55Speaker 1: at the same time they're right, of course, It's like,
- 32:56Speaker 1: I don't understand at this point why they're not like,
- 33:01Speaker 1: have him pay us and will decorate for him. I
- 33:04Speaker 1: feel like sometimes people just don't know how to decorate.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I also just you know, here's a thing. Money is money,
- 33:10Speaker 1: and it's annoying to spend but it's funny how when
- 33:13Speaker 1: you see what someone can do with a better eye
- 33:17Speaker 1: than you, you might not appreciate it at first, but
- 33:21Speaker 1: then as you like accustom or acclimate your eye to
- 33:26Speaker 1: their design choices, you'll start to see design choices in
- 33:30Speaker 1: life that other people do, and then you can, I mean,
- 33:33Speaker 1: really appreciate. For instance, you may go through your life
- 33:38Speaker 1: and be like, I never need a clothing stylist, not necessary.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I know what I like, I know what I want
- 33:44Speaker 1: to wear whatever, God bless, I have good tapes people
- 33:47Speaker 1: like what I wear. But the minute, if you do
- 33:51Speaker 1: ever have like someone who truly knows style and like fashion,
- 33:55Speaker 1: and like who works in it in such a way
- 33:58Speaker 1: actually style you and actually like consider your body shape
- 34:02Speaker 1: and tailor things. It's such a radically different experience, and
- 34:09Speaker 1: it takes like a month after it happens for you
- 34:12Speaker 1: to or at least for me, to see in the
- 34:15Speaker 1: world how this manifests, how much better you look and
- 34:20Speaker 1: feel in pictures when you're wearing those garments, and how
- 34:24Speaker 1: you can see how other people who are styled or
- 34:26Speaker 1: styled in such a way, how it does look better.
- 34:29Speaker 1: It's almost like the details you don't see, but the
- 34:33Speaker 1: same thing with an apartment or a home. Like if
- 34:36Speaker 1: you think, you know, like you did a good job,
- 34:39Speaker 1: and then you go into a space that has had
- 34:41Speaker 1: an in tailor designer, you're like, oh, wallpaper okay, and
- 34:47Speaker 1: this there's so many just different aspects that can really
- 34:50Speaker 1: make a place look put fucking together that you just
- 34:54Speaker 1: might not be, you know, accessible, like in your mind's eye,
- 34:58Speaker 1: in your eye of like see things. I can be
- 35:01Speaker 1: quite blind. I'm really talking about myself. I can be
- 35:04Speaker 1: quite blind and think that something is good enough or
- 35:07Speaker 1: whatnot until I see a professional do it and I'm like, oh,
- 35:13Speaker 1: oh yeah, it's hard though. It's hard to like no
- 35:17Speaker 1: when want to spend money or whatever. So then they
- 35:19Speaker 1: decide to do like a little outdoorsy warzy moment and
- 35:22Speaker 1: they're skating. By the way, Paul I can skateboard, and
- 35:26Speaker 1: I was so happy for her. If they're like in
- 35:29Speaker 1: Venice or something, it looks real beach like, you know,
- 35:32Speaker 1: like palm trees. He has like roller blades on. You know,
- 35:35Speaker 1: it's quintessential. I've never been able to move, I've never
- 35:40Speaker 1: been able to skate. I can't imagine being able to
- 35:45Speaker 1: put on roller blades and just getting to a different place.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It must be so freeing. But I, yeah, my body
- 35:56Speaker 1: on wheels feels like I'm about to fall and hurt
- 35:59Speaker 1: mysel health, and that'd be great. He is eternally upset
- 36:09Speaker 1: that she isn't more appreciative of what he's done and
- 36:13Speaker 1: what he's spent. He's like, I did the entire visa process,
- 36:16Speaker 1: I printed everything out, I paid for everything. I gave
- 36:19Speaker 1: her this credit card. She doesn't care. She just wants furniture,
- 36:24Speaker 1: and her viewpoint is I just want what I had
- 36:27Speaker 1: in Brazil. And this is the crux of their segment
- 36:32Speaker 1: and all of their segments. It's interesting how unwatchable they are.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Like I barely can tolerate them. I mean, I would
- 36:40Speaker 1: fast forward them if I wasn't doing this podcast. The
- 36:43Speaker 1: only times I fast for people is when they're like
- 36:45Speaker 1: truly toxic or negative. And these people are just boring.
- 36:48Speaker 1: They're just boring. Yeah, I really would like just a
- 36:58Speaker 1: little more fun with them. I would like a little
- 37:00Speaker 1: I would enjoy someone telling me what the fuck is
- 37:03Speaker 1: up with what's going to happen in their storyline or
- 37:07Speaker 1: why no fiance thought they were like watchable this whole time? Okay,
- 37:12Speaker 1: my loves. There ends part one of this recap, and
- 37:16Speaker 1: I'm going to go on to talk about Mallory and
- 37:19Speaker 1: Rasheet and I still have Aisha and Malcolm, and I
- 37:23Speaker 1: still have Shay and Annabel. So thank you guys so
