- 0:00I'm Alexandra. I am Lynn.
- 0:02I'm Rose and this is sit happens.
- 0:05We wanted to just give you a heads up, this podcast is all
- 0:08for fun and entertainment. We are sharing our own thoughts
- 0:12and stories, not professional advice.
- 0:14Just relax. Enjoy and don't take us too
- 0:17seriously. Let's get this started.
- 0:19Welcome to SIT. Happens.
- 0:22What's in your cup today? Go ahead, Lynn.
- 0:25Well I have a semi warm caramel latte from 9:00 AM and it's
- 0:31already 1:30 PM. How about you?
- 0:33So I stopped by Dunkin' Donuts today because yesterday we
- 0:38celebrated my youngest 2nd birthday and he loves munchkins
- 0:42so I wanted to bring some munchkins to his class and
- 0:45surprised him and I was like I'll treat myself.
- 0:47It's my birthday too. So I got me a brown shaken
- 0:50espresso from Dunkin. It's my new favorite now, so
- 0:54then you might need to learn how to.
- 0:56Make that we have to learn some money.
- 0:58Some some money. There you go.
- 1:00What about you, Rosie? I have a protein.
- 1:01Shake doing the one that. Lynn had last week.
- 1:04The birthday, love that flavor. What do you put in it?
- 1:06Anything else? Do you put something in your
- 1:08protein? No, I'm just, I'm just wondering
- 1:10because it's delicious and I've tried it with milk and I've
- 1:13asked you what milk you've used and you said the protein milk.
- 1:15So I'm just was wondering if you played with a little bit to get
- 1:18to your liking? Just.
- 1:20Poured it in there. And water.
- 1:21That's it. It's bold, it's so great.
- 1:23So today we're recording Part 2 of a birth story and Lynn, my
- 1:27friend, you're up. Please share a with us your
- 1:30story for your babies. And that's perfect because
- 1:33yesterday was Mother's Day. So happy Mother's Day to
- 1:38everybody, and I'm excited that I get to share my story because
- 1:42it's a little bit different from your stories.
- 1:45Speaking of that, I think I've heard many different stories and
- 1:49I promise you they all sound different.
- 1:51It's very unique, yes. So I can't wait to hear.
- 1:54I mean, you've shared a little bit of it, so I'm curious to see
- 1:56how you're going to share with the audience both.
- 1:58Of them please ladies, I love this part because I think it's
- 2:07one of the stories that you always like to go back to right.
- 2:11You love to just go back to the time when you went into labor
- 2:17and I remember the night before I had Lana that's my oldest one.
- 2:23We had a pasta night with some friends and a movie night.
- 2:27And usually, you know, with your first born, they say they
- 2:30usually come after the due date. And so we're like, OK, we're
- 2:33going to have to have a movie night and have some pasta and
- 2:36just be together because, you know, it's four days before my
- 2:40due date or five days before my due dating.
- 2:42You know, as we go to the due date and after, then we can
- 2:45expect the baby to come. So this is my last chance to get
- 2:47together. So we had some friends over and
- 2:51we had pasta. We want some kind of chick
- 2:53flick. I don't remember what I was.
- 2:54And everybody went home and I woke up in the morning and I was
- 2:58like, man, that pasta, I was not right with me.
- 3:01And I think it was like around 8:00 AM in the morning and I go
- 3:04to the bathroom. I was like, it's just
- 3:07Constipation. It's not coming out.
- 3:09So I go back to bed and 10 minutes later I'm like, oh man,
- 3:13I have to go again. I go to the bathroom, I sit,
- 3:17nothing comes out. I go back to bed.
- 3:20Then I try to sleep again. And 10 minutes later, I have
- 3:24this urge again to go to the bathroom.
- 3:25And then I'm like, wait a minute.
- 3:27Every 10 minutes I have to go to the bathroom.
- 3:30So I called the hospital where I was supposed to give birth.
- 3:35And I'm like, I think I may be in labor.
- 3:38Every 10 minutes I have to go to the bathroom.
- 3:41And she was like, you know, just take a bath, Take a hot bath.
- 3:45Because if it's real labor, it will intensify and it will come
- 3:49more frequently. And she's like, and if it's not
- 3:52the one bath, what kind of just relax your muscles and it will
- 3:56stop. If this is just Braxton, Braxton
- 3:58Hicks contractions and I'm like, OK, that sounds good.
- 4:01So just to be just be in case, I took a shower first to shave.
- 4:05That's important. It's important.
- 4:07Because like, just in case something's going to happen and
- 4:09I go into the hot water tub and it intensifies, I don't have to
- 4:13worry about that anymore. And I'm like, OK, I'm going to
- 4:16shave. And while I want, I'm drawing in
- 4:19the water in the bathtub and I get into the bathtub at every 5
- 4:23minutes by the dot, I was getting my contractions and I'm
- 4:26like, no, I'm going to do labor. It's happening every 5 minutes.
- 4:31And I'm like, OK, I need to get that.
- 4:33I started making phone calls. I'm like, I think I'm, I'm going
- 4:35to labor. Somebody needs to take me to the
- 4:38hospital. So I called the French.
- 4:39She lives like right across around the corner.
- 4:42And for our audience that don't know me, I was single during
- 4:46pregnancy. And so I had a great backup and
- 4:51a great support system that we're all going to help me
- 4:54through this time. So I called my sister, I called
- 4:57my mom, I called my neighbor and I told her it's like you can
- 5:01take your time. Even though it's every 5
- 5:03minutes, it's still, I'm still okay.
- 5:05So I was putting on my makeup, my see, I am, I was a single mom
- 5:13at that time. And I'm like, I'm going to have
- 5:15nice pictures. And that was important.
- 5:17And it was important. I was like, I'm going to have
- 5:19nice pictures with my baby. And I knew the doctors at the
- 5:23hospital. That.
- 5:25Was the truth. There was a really cute younger
- 5:28doctor and he was like featured in magazines and things.
- 5:34And I, I knew them personally and I knew the staff person
- 5:38because that was the hospital where I was doing my clinical
- 5:41rotations to nursing school. I knew all the doctors and the
- 5:44staff because I, I would, was doing my clinical rotations from
- 5:49nursing school there. So I knew everybody.
- 5:51I'm like, no, I'm not that. I'm going to be laughing.
- 5:53I'm going to be put together and I am going to look nice.
- 5:58They're going to Remember Me. So I was a little bit vain, I
- 6:02have to admit. But I'm like, this is all I got
- 6:05right. I don't have everybody's going
- 6:07to feel sorry for me because I'm there without, you know, a dad.
- 6:11I'm going to be there, but I'm going to represent everybody and
- 6:14everybody's going to look good. So while I was getting ready,
- 6:18you have to imagine I was putting my eyeliner on and in
- 6:21between I'm like my contractor. Was like but this is important.
- 6:25I have. I have my eyeliner on.
- 6:28I care. Oh.
- 6:29My God, going back, I wanted a water birth.
- 6:33I was like, a kid needs to be waterproof.
- 6:34I'm going to have a water birth. I need to be put together.
- 6:37Well, I was putting my makeup on.
- 6:39I was like, it was intensifying. So I called my friend.
- 6:42I'm like, no, you need to come now.
- 6:44You don't have time like I was when I called her herself, Like
- 6:47you have like, you know, an hour or two.
- 6:49I'm like, no, you need to be here now.
- 6:50Every 5 minutes, every hour or? Okay, so how far was the
- 6:53hospital? Not even 10 minutes away, she
- 6:56picked me up and drove into. I was, I was freaking her out so
- 7:01much because I am not the kind of girl that does like
- 7:05contraction. No, it's like I was a cow.
- 7:07So I was freaking her out every time I had a contraction.
- 7:10I was freaking her out so much that she drove into a one way
- 7:14St. in the wrong direction. There were other cars coming.
- 7:17She was honking and she was like get out of the way.
- 7:20This lady's having a baby. It's like the movie.
- 7:23It's like the movies and it was sunny.
- 7:25The hospital where I was going to give birth to was the
- 7:29hospital that I was having my clinical rotation.
- 7:31It was a huge lobby. You go in and it goes like all
- 7:36the way up to the 6th floor, but it's open, The lobby's open, so
- 7:40you can see all the sixth floors up.
- 7:42So when I went in, there had a contraction and it was echoing
- 7:45to the entire hospital. And I had friends that have
- 7:48their clinical rotations on the 6th floor and they heard me.
- 7:52They're like, that's slim because everybody knew that.
- 7:54I found that time end of July, I'm June and everybody knew
- 7:58where they're going to be. And one of my mail college
- 8:02maids, there was a nursing school with me.
- 8:05She's like I'm having my clinical rotations during your
- 8:09due date if you have it while I'm there, am I allowed to
- 8:12watch? And I told him absolutely no,
- 8:16you cannot watch me when I'm having a baby and see all my
- 8:20areas. It's like we're not that close.
- 8:23Was he cute too? No.
- 8:25He was nice. He was, he was nice, but he was
- 8:28like, no, I don't want you to see those parts, right.
- 8:32I want our husbands to see. And they seen everything.
- 8:36So I go in there and my contractions were intensifying.
- 8:41And I knew that when you have a water birth, everybody, we knew
- 8:45that I was going to have a water birth.
- 8:46When I have a water birth, I can't have an epidural.
- 8:49And my contractions were really bad.
- 8:51So I was screaming while they were running the water into the
- 8:54top. I'm like, it's OK, I want an
- 8:56epidural. Just give me an epidural.
- 8:58I don't want a water birth. Anymore you can't.
- 9:00Change your mind. Yeah.
- 9:02And then the midwife looks at me, honey 10cm dilated.
- 9:06You're ready. You know, epidural, it's like.
- 9:08We're lucky if we can't get the bath all the way up for you to
- 9:12have the baby, right? You've already through the
- 9:15worst. Part yes.
- 9:17Put makeup on it, got ready, she's fine.
- 9:20So I was sitting there and they're like, OK, we have to do,
- 9:23you know, your water hasn't broken and we have to pop it.
- 9:26So they have to pop it. And then one of the midwives
- 9:29came and was whispering something into the other
- 9:31midwives ear. And I was like, OK.
- 9:33And I see the door was like half open.
- 9:36And then the midwives like, well, we have a nursing student
- 9:39here, and she was wondering if it would be OK that he could
- 9:46come and assist. And his name is Secret.
- 9:49So I was like, secret. It's OK.
- 9:51Just come in now. I was like, at that point, like,
- 9:53I don't care. I don't want to argue anymore.
- 9:55If you want to be in here, just be in here.
- 9:56But, you know, just be prepared. You're going to see some ugly
- 9:59things happening, and it's not going to be pretty.
- 10:02And I'm not sick of saying yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:05He needs to learn. Right, he might as well be me.
- 10:08Yes, he needs to learn. I know.
- 10:10So we made it. The water was on.
- 10:13They were dimming the light. They put like dimming the
- 10:16lights, putting some candles on with aromatherapy.
- 10:19It was really nice ambiance. They put ACD and ACD player.
- 10:24The CD started skipping. Oh no.
- 10:26And I was so agitated. I was like, just switch it up.
- 10:30I don't want it anymore. This is not relaxing.
- 10:33And then I was just like trying to bargain with the with the
- 10:37midwife. I'm like, can we continue
- 10:39tomorrow? It's OK, I can hold out.
- 10:41I don't want to do this right now.
- 10:43Can we take a break? Warm water was just
- 10:46intensifying, amplifying the the pain and the contractions and
- 10:50they were just keep coming every like every 30 wanted.
- 10:53To pause instead of it. Was too much.
- 10:56Just imagine getting your your contractions every 30 seconds to
- 11:00a minute. Like constantly get to.
- 11:02I I don't have time to breathe. It was like it's coming in, it's
- 11:06coming again and then they can't.
- 11:08It had to make me wait too because it was happening so
- 11:11fast. You are ready.
- 11:13I was happening so fast. She's like, stop.
- 11:15I'm like, no, it's there. I could feel she dropped.
- 11:18I could feel her head. She's like, you're too fast.
- 11:20I'm like, no, she's not gonna. And you know that feeling like
- 11:24when you have to go to the bathroom and you're almost there
- 11:27and and then you stop and then goes back in, that feeling with
- 11:30the baby in there. So the head was all the way down
- 11:33there and you could tell if you just push one more time, it's
- 11:36going to be out. And she's like, no, wait.
- 11:38And it's like bloop, hey, what back in?
- 11:40I squeezed it and it's fine. Just tomorrow.
- 11:42I'm curious. Why you had to stop though?
- 11:43She said it was too fast and she didn't want me to RIP.
- 11:46Oh, OK, that. Makes sense?
- 11:48Yeah, she didn't want me to RIP. And she's like, we got to slow
- 11:51down because we need to stretch it a little bit, stretch it a
- 11:54little bit and not like, OK, it will rain.
- 11:56It just stays like that. Did you it?
- 11:59I did, but not, not not a lot, not a lot.
- 12:02So I was there and my my my classmate was there and then one
- 12:08of my friends was there. It was went pretty fast.
- 12:11I had the baby. And I look over and they put
- 12:16Lana on my chest and I was like, oh, thank goodness you did this.
- 12:19I died. She's out.
- 12:22But the first thing I said when I saw her is like, her face is
- 12:25squished. She's got a squishy face.
- 12:27She's like, well, honey, if it goes to a tiny hole like that,
- 12:30it will be a little squish. Stop it.
- 12:33And I look over and my male classmate is like tearing up and
- 12:37having tears running down his face.
- 12:39And I'm like, why are you crying?
- 12:40You didn't do this and you just looked like this is so.
- 12:45This is so special. And thank you for letting me be
- 12:47part of it. I was like, well, I didn't want
- 12:50you to, but OK. But I was like, why are you
- 12:52crying? And then I look over and then my
- 12:53other friend is crying too. And I'm like, why is everybody
- 12:56crying? And I'm just relieved because
- 12:58you don't have the word. And I'm like, retrospect, I, I,
- 13:01I was kind of touched that it would meant so much to them to
- 13:04be a part of it. When the midwives gave me the
- 13:08scissors, she's like, OK, we were gonna you.
- 13:11Have to cut a. Tie cut it.
- 13:12Well then she asked me first and I was looking around and she
- 13:16could see in my head she's like this moment and she gave me the
- 13:23scissors so I would disconnect. I called my best friend earlier
- 13:27when I was on the way and she wasn't able to make it but she
- 13:30heard Lana when she was born because she was still in the
- 13:33lobby so she heard it and I called my sister and she was
- 13:37coming from a different city which is only like 2 1/2 hours
- 13:41away. I told her when I was getting
- 13:43into the contractions she was like okay, how long do you
- 13:47think? And I'm like first time they say
- 13:50about 12 to 18 hours. So if you come to night
- 13:53sometime, take your time, your time 4 hours from first
- 13:58contraction. Fast, yeah.
- 14:00Because, you know, the water was just like so, but it was not
- 14:08messy at all. And until the afterbirth, like a
- 14:11lot of people think, you know, I didn't have any messes coming
- 14:16out. I didn't defecate into the
- 14:17water. I think a lot of women are
- 14:19nervous about that. And they were really smart.
- 14:23I ripped a little bit. They were smart.
- 14:25They put the baby on my chest so that I wasn't even really paying
- 14:29attention. Everything was kind of stretched
- 14:33and feeling weird anyway. So it was, yeah, it was not so
- 14:37bad. The stitches were like, I felt
- 14:38maybe the first one, but then it was like, all a blur and they
- 14:42were soaking the moment. I know.
- 14:45She was. So good.
- 14:46She was quiet, she cried and of course when when she she came
- 14:49out, but after that she was just like very calm.
- 14:52And my best friend arrived and she was the one Iris, the dental
- 14:58surgeon, she was the one who gave Lana her first bath and
- 15:02check up. So there's a very special sugar
- 15:05to do. All that at the.
- 15:05Hospital Owl at the hospital and it was so nice, the hospital
- 15:09where I gave birth, because they knew me and they knew my story.
- 15:12They gave me a private room and they called it the family room
- 15:16because it was a king size bed in there.
- 15:19Just thing yes, I slept. I slept, yes.
- 15:22So there was a king size bed and then the baby how they call it
- 15:27the bassinet. There was a couch in there and
- 15:30my sister arrived at night time so she slept in the bed with me
- 15:34and she was so irritated because she woke up every time they came
- 15:37in to check. With the baby.
- 15:39I laughed. I was like, I was, yeah, I was.
- 15:42I was fine, yeah, but every. 2 minutes when I'm checking I'm
- 15:45like just let me sleep I would be great.
- 15:47It didn't bother me. My goodness, it irritated my
- 15:50sister because she was trying to get her nap in.
- 15:53And I do know, I remember. You're from nursing school.
- 15:56They tell you when the baby is born in the 1st 24 hours, there
- 16:01could be still some amniotic fluid in their lungs.
- 16:04And then if they start getting bluish, you just tip them over a
- 16:07little bit and let them tap on their back and let them cough up
- 16:11the amniotic fluid. Right.
- 16:12So I didn't know this. I knew, I knew that all from
- 16:17nursing school. Like the next morning I was, I
- 16:20was feeding Lana with a bottle. We tried breastfeeding but she
- 16:24didn't really want to latch on. And because I was a single mom
- 16:27and they knew that I need a lot of help from other people,
- 16:30they're like, you know, it's OK, we will try to nurse that we'll
- 16:35bottle P too. So you are in the assumption you
- 16:37have options to give the baby to somebody else help you with
- 16:41everything. So and I was fine with the plan
- 16:44to try to pump and nurse and give the bottle the same time
- 16:50and see whatever works best. So after nurse turn everything,
- 16:54her face started turning blue and all that medical knowledge
- 16:59was my brain. It's like there were just
- 17:02instincts. There was number.
- 17:04There was number common sense anymore.
- 17:06No knowledge anymore. It's just the Mama that's seeing
- 17:08her baby turning blue. And I was hitting that panic
- 17:11button on my button like somebody come any of my baby is
- 17:14turning blue. And the nurses started to come
- 17:17running because, you know, the emergency was on.
- 17:20And then it's like she's blue, she's blue.
- 17:23They just they tapped her over a little bit on her back and let
- 17:26her cough it up. And they're like, Lynn, we
- 17:28talked about this, you know that I'm like.
- 17:30I don't know anything. I'm just I'm just the one thing
- 17:37is that I loved about it with the giving formula instead of
- 17:44the nursing is that she was able to sleep and I know a lot of new
- 17:48moms have problems with sleeping nursing every two hours.
- 17:51I came home the first night while I was sleeping for 10.
- 17:56She was good. She slept bother me and the
- 18:00German doctors, they don't give you Oz or anything like that.
- 18:03I noticed when I came to the United States they're like a
- 18:07specifics like this is how they're supposed to drink.
- 18:09They're like, if they're hungry, give them as much as then we
- 18:12don't want. And she would get herself a good
- 18:15bottle and pass out for 10 hours.
- 18:18Be like, is she OK? Is she OK?
- 18:21No, she, she was asleep. Yeah.
- 18:23She slaps herself into a coma after.
- 18:25Feeding herself. So how long were you at the
- 18:27hospital for? Two nights, two nights I had.
- 18:29Just worked like normal. Time, normal time, everything
- 18:32was great. I had a whole bunch of friends
- 18:35visiting. It was, I was not very
- 18:37germaphobic with the first one for some reason, like with the
- 18:41second one, it was more, but the first one like, yeah, come on,
- 18:45come on. I was very laid back.
- 18:47I was happy that people came to visit.
- 18:49People wanted to meet Lana. There was I did not have any
- 18:54problems with postpartum depression.
- 18:57I know that there's a lot of women struggling with that and I
- 19:01thought because of my situation, being a single mom, that I would
- 19:05be prone to it. But I was blessed that I didn't
- 19:09have that. So with Chloe, was it the same
- 19:11like that's your first? Absolutely not.
- 19:17The first experience, you know, you went through it, single mom,
- 19:20you did it, you conquered it, and then you got pregnant with
- 19:24Chloe, right? Well, you expected the same.
- 19:26Things or I knew I wanted a water birth.
- 19:30The experience of the water birth was so great that I knew
- 19:35that's what I wanted again. So that was the.
- 19:37One thing I had. 2 auto births, yes I wanted it and I got it.
- 19:43So when we so I had Chloe in Texas and I had Lana in Germany.
- 19:50I didn't know if I said Germany earlier, but I had Chloe in the
- 19:54United States and Texas. And when we were going through
- 19:58the classes and the poor they had a section with water births
- 20:03that they were working on but it wasn't open yet.
- 20:06And I was like when are you guys opening that section?
- 20:09And there said end of May, possibly June, and Chloe's due
- 20:13date was June. 24 they. Have.
- 20:17Plenty of. So as long as like the baby's
- 20:21supposed to be there around that time, so it should be open,
- 20:24right? And like, yeah, I should be.
- 20:25I'm like, OK, as long as that signs up.
- 20:27So. And as a military family, you
- 20:30don't really have options to switch around.
- 20:32You're going to have the baby in that hospital whether they offer
- 20:34it or not. So with Chloe, my in laws came
- 20:40from Alabama to Texas and they kind of pinned it out because I
- 20:44had Lana 4 four days before due date.
- 20:47They're like OK, so she's probably going to be before the
- 20:50due date too. So they only had a week time
- 20:52because they were working and they took the week off the week
- 20:58before my due date off to come visit us.
- 21:01So every night once they came I would get contractions around
- 21:0611:00 PM it would start but then they would stop.
- 21:09But every night until due date I'd met in laws we're leaving
- 21:13the day after my due date we're. Going to have the baby, going to
- 21:17have time. Yes.
- 21:18No, no. Few days after the due date, I
- 21:20was having contractions every every day after my due date, I'm
- 21:27getting my time. Four days.
- 21:29I thought I got Chloe four days after after my due date.
- 21:33He's at home. Yes, he's at home.
- 21:35He was at home. I was like, wait a minute.
- 21:37So he went back. Going back, he was supposed to
- 21:40deploy to Afghanistan before the due date, but they were sending
- 21:46them out in in different groups. So they were able to push him
- 21:51into the later group that is after the due date.
- 21:55OK, OK. He was going to be there for the
- 21:58birth for sure. So I had Chloe four days after
- 22:02the due date, the day when he when my in laws were leaving and
- 22:07their flight was delayed. So they were able to see her for
- 22:10two hours. But yeah, my, my contraction
- 22:13started at what time did they start?
- 22:17At three. OK, 330I think 330.
- 22:19Yeah, 3:30 or 3:30 in the morning.
- 22:22And they felt different than the contractions I had before every
- 22:26night. So once I started feeling them,
- 22:28I'm like, oh, this is it, this is the real deal.
- 22:30And Kevin, we had the bag ready. I mean, she was after the due
- 22:34date, so we had everything happening.
- 22:36And The funny thing is too, they made asked us when we come to
- 22:41bring a fishnet, right, Because we're having a water birth.
- 22:45So we can fish the baby out. Well, it is because we were
- 22:48asking the same. No, it's asking the same things,
- 22:51like what do we need the fishnet?
- 22:53My mind. I know it's like, well, when you
- 22:55you have the water birth, so you need to bring a fishnet and
- 22:58Cameron's like, why? And we asked her something why?
- 23:02So I guess if you defecate into the water, you use the fishnet
- 23:07to scoop it up. Who does that?
- 23:09Husband. Yeah.
- 23:12Hey, that's interesting. You have one job.
- 23:16Sir, you have one job not to deprecate.
- 23:19Exactly. So yeah, we get into the
- 23:22hospital and they were giving me just some IV fluids and my I
- 23:26look over to my husband as they were trying to put the needle
- 23:29into my arm and he was like, he's turning pale.
- 23:32And he is like everybody, I could see it in his face, like
- 23:35he's about to pass out. And I tell him you don't.
- 23:39I look at no, you're not going to do this.
- 23:41This is about me. You're not allowed to pass out.
- 23:43You're going to be there and you're going to.
- 23:45You aren't going to endure. Just don't look into the needle.
- 23:47Right. Just.
- 23:48Looking at the needle from the Ivy going and no, not even going
- 23:51inside just. Pressing my getting everything.
- 23:54Fracked up getting into. The work yet?
- 23:56I know. Yeah.
- 23:59So no, he did not pass out. Like he did not pass out.
- 24:05So we were able to get into the water.
- 24:08Nobody thought just going to, you know, it's fast enough
- 24:11because it's just so happening. So they got the water and I got
- 24:14in there and they made me move all kinds of positions that when
- 24:17I I was on my knees and leaning against the bathtub wall and he
- 24:22was like, babe, you just look like a dog that is about to
- 24:25poop. I had Chloe in two hours.
- 24:28They had contractions at 3:30 and she was born at 5:30.
- 24:32I'm going to have a water birth next time.
- 24:34I'm glad that the hospital was closed and I was always joking.
- 24:38If I had a third one. I am not going to make it to the
- 24:41hospital at like a half long and four hours, Chloe, in two hours.
- 24:45The next one I got an hour I was going to be home because I
- 24:48better have that bathtub. Ready.
- 24:49We'll bring water. It's fine, we'll fill it out.
- 24:51I was like, it was just, it was a really great experience.
- 24:55Both of them were really good experiences.
- 24:58Whenever people are like very terrified about giving birth,
- 25:02I'm like, hey, I am a story because everybody has bad
- 25:05stories. How horrible it was, how long it
- 25:08took, how much pain there were. I'm like, no, mine was not so
- 25:11bad. It wasn't so bad.
- 25:14You did it twice. I did.
- 25:15It wasn't so bad. It wasn't so bad.
- 25:17I mean, yeah, in the moment probably was pretty bad, but now
- 25:21because it was so fast, you didn't have to endure the pain
- 25:25as long. So.
- 25:26And then I was really weird about people touching my baby
- 25:30with the second one. With the first one, it was not
- 25:32so much. I don't know.
- 25:34I kept telling Kevin, somebody comes in, make sure they wash
- 25:36their hands and, you know, if they want to, that's cool, Come
- 25:40into the room, they're not gonna touch.
- 25:42Oh, they're just coming just to come into the room to wash their
- 25:44hands. My bad.
- 25:45My in laws were allowed to touch the baby.
- 25:48Yeah, they were holding the baby and I was like his coworkers and
- 25:52everybody. I was like, just make sure they
- 25:54wash their hands before they come in.
- 25:56I think before that wasn't such a big thing, though, because I
- 25:59remember when someone would have a baby, everybody's grabbing the
- 26:02baby. Yeah.
- 26:03But then with time, I mean, I just had the only four years
- 26:06ago, so I already had that awareness was like, no, you want
- 26:09people to wash their hands. You want them to wear masks if
- 26:12they're feeling sick. And I'm like, OK.
- 26:14I'm like, this is stressful, sick.
- 26:15I'm not coming in. My in laws flight was delayed
- 26:19because they were leaving the day that she was born.
- 26:22Oh, they were able to see Chloe for two hours before they had to
- 26:27go fly out to Alabama, but they saw them.
- 26:30It was funny because it's like 4 days before due date with Lana
- 26:34and four days after due date and everybody was born on a
- 26:38Saturday. But me like Kevin was born on a
- 26:40Saturday, Lana was born on a Saturday, Chloe was born on a
- 26:42Saturday. I was born on a Friday.
- 26:44Wow, that's close to that's the weekend, so close to yeah, but
- 26:48yeah, I think you one one of the fun things that I love to do is
- 26:53tell the birth worst stories because they were both great
- 26:55experiences came with their own little challenges.
- 26:58Thank you so much for sharing your story.
- 27:00I know like I said, everybody's different.
