- 0:04Speaker 2: We are good?
- 0:05Speaker 3: How are you good? Good?
- 0:08Speaker 1: Marcus? Is it that I'm chatting with? Yes, excell and Alie.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Nice to meet you, I know. Likewise, so what times?
- 0:17Speaker 2: Only you? Where abouts in the world? Are you positioned?
- 0:19Speaker 2: I always love buddies out.
- 0:22Speaker 4: I know this is crazy, right I am. I'm checking
- 0:26Speaker 4: the time right now. I am on Swedish times. That's
- 0:30Speaker 4: EU time, right, so we are we are twenty to
- 0:34Speaker 4: ten in the morning.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Wow. Wow, okay, so we are.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I'm actually six forty quarter to seven of the evening
- 0:41Speaker 1: Aussie time.
- 0:42Speaker 2: But I also live on the border.
- 0:44Speaker 3: So which which day? Which day?
- 0:46Speaker 2: So we're Tuesday and you're a Monday.
- 0:49Speaker 3: No, I'm on Tuesday, rightday.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah. So yeah, we're Tuesday, Tuesday evening.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And but if I go about ten minutes north, it's
- 0:57Speaker 1: an hour behind.
- 0:59Speaker 3: So oh easy, that's insane.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Wow, you're like, so wait if you go like wait,
- 1:07Speaker 4: that's crazy.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So if you go to like shopping over there, it's
- 1:10Speaker 3: a different time zone.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So it's we have crazy thing called daylight saving, which
- 1:16Speaker 2: is it's so.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Insane, So we do have that as well. Unbearable, Yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I don't mind it.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But what I live on the border of Queensland and
- 1:24Speaker 1: New South Wales, like literally my last place.
- 1:26Speaker 2: She could almost spin on the border in my backyard.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So it's like, yeah, when you're going like so incorporating that,
- 1:33Speaker 1: it's great. Sometimes I'm like, I've got an hour left,
- 1:36Speaker 1: you know, like it's you know, not that late.
- 1:37Speaker 2: If I'm like running a easy that's insane.
- 1:41Speaker 4: We don't like day like saving and sweet. And I'll
- 1:43Speaker 4: tell you that, you know, for one reason, because the
- 1:45Speaker 4: only thing that makes it's just darker. Like that's what happens.
- 1:49Speaker 4: It's just darker. Yeah, you wake up in the morning,
- 1:52Speaker 4: it's like ten times darker. It's so weird.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so it is. It's the the mornings are like that.
- 1:57Speaker 2: But it's we have it throughout summertimes. Do you have
- 2:00Speaker 2: it through your summer, winter through summer?
- 2:02Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, exactly, I think winter right here, I think, oh, okay.
- 2:07Speaker 2: So we have it in our summertime. So that's when the.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Days did the same. Right now, aren't your summer shifted
- 2:12Speaker 3: or something like that?
- 2:13Speaker 2: So where we're coming into summer.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Now exactly, That's what I'm saying, and we're coming into winter,
- 2:19Speaker 4: so like we do we do have it the same way.
- 2:20Speaker 4: It's just that we did we call it different things.
- 2:23Speaker 4: That's just insane that you guys are having summer right now.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I love it and it gets like right it is.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It makes it like, you know, it's lighter for longer,
- 2:33Speaker 1: so it's sundersn't set to like around eight o'clock.
- 2:35Speaker 3: It's I love it. I love it. I love it.
- 2:39Speaker 4: So you're you're my last interview right now? Is we
- 2:41Speaker 4: do have a little bit more time if you have much.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So I'm literally back to back to, which doesn't always happen.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Just finished one before and I'm.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Like quickly, yeah, the window.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We have that edit button for it, which is good,
- 2:57Speaker 1: make it all polished. But yeah, So it's got a
- 3:00Speaker 1: new single or new album that's coming out.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Is that right? Angel is Angels Calling? Is that the
- 3:06Speaker 2: correct full.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Title, Angels Calling? Yes, both the title track and the
- 3:11Speaker 4: album title.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah, And I gave it a bit of a sneaky
- 3:15Speaker 1: listen before Chris and I like it. It's that synth,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you know, metal new metal kind of sounds like my
- 3:23Speaker 1: stuff that I do, which is really cool.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yes, very very much.
- 3:28Speaker 1: That that drum synth that that it's it's cool.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I really I was impressed. I liked it. I liked it. Yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 2: the tweets and the tech techno metal is that we've
- 3:40Speaker 2: got to what do you call your genre?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Is it?
- 3:43Speaker 4: It's so hard like everyone tries to always make is
- 3:46Speaker 4: like like say what we but we don't know? Like
- 3:49Speaker 4: the main thing also about this band that's so like
- 3:52Speaker 4: we do have a synth player. Like there an actual people.
- 3:57Speaker 4: It's an actual person playing sins. So everyone is like
- 4:02Speaker 4: it's cool that Throy Electronic. I'm like, yeah, well he's here.
- 4:07Speaker 4: It's not like he's like it's not like it's a
- 4:09Speaker 4: choice from my end, like you got to play something, right, Yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 4: So like it's like it's like something in this genre
- 4:16Speaker 4: where it's like it's supposed to be guitarist bassed and
- 4:19Speaker 4: drums right, but like it's like it's always backtracks or
- 4:23Speaker 4: something like that when it comes to synth.
- 4:25Speaker 3: But for us, it's like an actual human being.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Yeah exactly, but here it is an actual human beings.
- 4:32Speaker 3: We're like we have no choice.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's cool.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Will let you know obviously better way you could play
- 4:38Speaker 1: live and things like that.
- 4:39Speaker 2: You yeah that's sick. Yeah sure, And so you guys
- 4:44Speaker 2: are all baysed Sin Swayne. Is that correct?
- 4:47Speaker 4: Kind it's weird, like we are based I'd say we're
- 4:50Speaker 4: based in a lay maybe, but also touring musicians, you
- 4:54Speaker 4: know how it is, We're in Sweden a lot of
- 4:56Speaker 4: the time, building up.
- 4:57Speaker 3: For EU tours here.
- 4:59Speaker 4: We do have management label some apartments in in La
- 5:04Speaker 4: that we are that we are living in as well,
- 5:06Speaker 4: so it's it's it's a bit messy at this time.
- 5:08Speaker 4: But I'd say that we are kind of like LA
- 5:10Speaker 4: based but also in Sweden a lot of the time.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And is that because just like like your audience or
- 5:17Speaker 1: our listeners and that you can got much action in
- 5:19Speaker 1: the Europe.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Then I think it was just like easier to make
- 5:24Speaker 3: the move.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And also like we're pretty serious about this, we want
- 5:26Speaker 4: to get pretty big, so so we just thought that
- 5:28Speaker 4: it might be just a better thing to do. And
- 5:31Speaker 4: there's no industry like Sweden is no, there's no rock
- 5:34Speaker 4: industry in Sweden, so we just wanted we just wanted to. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 4: I mean that's the reaction from from from everyone else
- 5:40Speaker 4: in the world, right, but for Swedes it's like there's
- 5:43Speaker 4: actually when you say, like there's actually a rock industry
- 5:46Speaker 4: in the rest of the world.
- 5:47Speaker 3: They were like wow, like you know.
- 5:49Speaker 4: So, so it's kind of it's kind of a weird thing,
- 5:53Speaker 4: right because Sweden has.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Sweden has so much, I mean we're having flames. We
- 5:58Speaker 3: have so much. Can't can't remember any of the bands
- 6:01Speaker 3: at the gates.
- 6:01Speaker 4: I mean, we have so many bands coming from here,
- 6:03Speaker 4: but right now, like twenty twenty.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Five, there's barely any scene, which is so strange that is. Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 3: so I think we just had to make the move, honestly.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So you know, view seeing goes pretty crazy for like
- 6:16Speaker 1: how hardcore like metal and and that kind of thing
- 6:20Speaker 1: over especially Germany and the even Japan's Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 4: They are, Yeah, they are doing their stuff over there. Yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 4: I've seen baby metal shows and all that.
- 6:31Speaker 3: That's craz We have a.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Lot of bands from Australia that do too over there,
- 6:36Speaker 1: and just some they get a lot more traction, you know,
- 6:39Speaker 1: in there than they do on the home front.
- 6:42Speaker 2: That's starting to change.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Though, I've noticed over the last you know, especially your
- 6:46Speaker 1: twelve twelve months two years that.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yeah, we're getting more.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I mean, i mean one of one of my favorite
- 6:53Speaker 4: bands are Australian Make Them Suffer, Make Them Suffer.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yes, I'm familiar with Go they're really good.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Parkway Drive, that's sick.
- 7:04Speaker 1: That's that's just down the road for me. So they
- 7:07Speaker 1: they're locals to be the guys from Pway.
- 7:09Speaker 3: That's so cool, dude.
- 7:11Speaker 4: I remember I remember watching the carry On music, like
- 7:13Speaker 4: the live music video from twenty twelve.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and it was like you're going to speak. It
- 7:18Speaker 3: was kind of like one one thing that inspired me
- 7:20Speaker 3: to do this.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah right, Yeah, They've inspired quite a few, quite a
- 7:24Speaker 1: few bands. I recently did alight review for I Killed
- 7:28Speaker 1: the prom Queen again.
- 7:29Speaker 2: They whole lot of that.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Oh hell yeah, Parkway Drive.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And as well, and they really they're tired with those guys.
- 7:35Speaker 4: So yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 1: But I can remember when Parkway started out literally years
- 7:40Speaker 1: ago and they just played I think it was an
- 7:42Speaker 1: all ages gig at like Byron Hall, like just tiny little.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, exactly exactly. I saw that on the
- 7:49Speaker 4: on the documentary.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, that was a great documentary, it was, indeed.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So they're on the home front, which they got Parkways
- 7:57Speaker 1: coming up soon, which is the menu first they started.
- 8:02Speaker 2: So that's going to be exciting next year.
- 8:03Speaker 3: So that's a good that's a good cash cow.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yes, outside the box, you know yeah, hell yeah, hell
- 8:14Speaker 1: the Benzilona yourselves is the plans to tour and come
- 8:17Speaker 1: down under all. What does the rest of your bill
- 8:19Speaker 1: look like for the year and into next year.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I mean we have we're going out with nothing more
- 8:25Speaker 4: in two weeks here in Europe, which is really really sick.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Then it's kind of like Christmas time almost, but we
- 8:32Speaker 4: are we are.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Announcing is the word.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Uh, something really really cool in the coming weeks months
- 8:43Speaker 4: leading up to the next year. So so we do
- 8:45Speaker 4: have some surprises in our Yes, there's it's coming up.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Watch this space. Not going to give any heavy agony ex.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Inside exactly exactly.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It's like it's like what do people say, stay tuned, great,
- 9:00Speaker 4: stay tuned.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Watch you face. It's old school, old school media.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I love it. Now it's like like and subscribe, yeah exactly.
- 9:10Speaker 4: It's like the world has changed, right the Facebook pages
- 9:13Speaker 4: facebook pages.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Back in the day, there was no such thing. You
- 9:18Speaker 1: just had a marketing manager and at a record label. Yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 1: back on the hard way and ding dingy guide bars
- 9:26Speaker 1: that you just have to try and gathery crowd and
- 9:28Speaker 1: sell some tickets.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Now it's following good old days.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, So what about yourself that what's your presence, Like,
- 9:35Speaker 1: how do you guys attack the other new music scene
- 9:37Speaker 1: with when it comes down algorithms and likes and followers,
- 9:40Speaker 1: et cetera.
- 9:43Speaker 4: That's been our that's been our bread and butter. That's
- 9:45Speaker 4: how we started. So like so like it's a little
- 9:48Speaker 4: bit weird. We we started back in twenty twelve, right,
- 9:52Speaker 4: and then we kind of like produced and wrote a
- 9:57Speaker 4: lot for others. We're songwriters and producers all of and
- 10:00Speaker 4: we do we do everything in the band as well.
- 10:02Speaker 4: We don't we don't outsource any production or songwriting or
- 10:05Speaker 4: anything like that. But so so so we got a
- 10:08Speaker 4: little bit distracted with like writing for others and trying
- 10:11Speaker 4: to like we learned about the industry and all of that,
- 10:14Speaker 4: YadA YadA.
- 10:15Speaker 3: But in twenty eighteen, we.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Just like we just thought that, oh my god, it's
- 10:20Speaker 4: just like, let's just fulfill the childhood dream one album.
- 10:25Speaker 3: It's been seven years. We can do one album, goddamn it.
- 10:29Speaker 4: So we just said that we do one song every month,
- 10:33Speaker 4: put it out, and then we don't think about it,
- 10:35Speaker 4: like that's it, that's it. We don't overthink stuff, right,
- 10:38Speaker 4: So that's what we did basically, and we released everything
- 10:41Speaker 4: on our own label, and me personally, I'm cut a
- 10:44Speaker 4: big nerd on the on the algorithmics and all the
- 10:46Speaker 4: all the Spotify things also coming from Sweden. Spotify was
- 10:51Speaker 4: really big here back and then they pushed a lot
- 10:54Speaker 4: of independent acts as well.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So we did.
- 10:57Speaker 4: We did get quite quite a few plays on Spotify
- 11:00Speaker 4: on the DSPs and on YouTube as well, a big
- 11:02Speaker 4: YouTube following.
- 11:03Speaker 3: So we played the algorithms pretty well, I'd see. In
- 11:06Speaker 3: the beginning.
- 11:06Speaker 4: The main part for us has been to learn the
- 11:09Speaker 4: other way, like to interact with fans and to do
- 11:12Speaker 4: things that's not digital more.
- 11:14Speaker 3: We're playing live and stuff.
- 11:15Speaker 4: But we we do tend to like the landscape that
- 11:19Speaker 4: the music is in right now.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well that's what back like you said, was
- 11:23Speaker 1: it twenty twelve you started, and then into twenty seven
- 11:26Speaker 1: and eighteen, that was when really just starting to make
- 11:30Speaker 1: that like definitive you know, change over that well, this
- 11:33Speaker 1: is what music these days, and this is how it's
- 11:36Speaker 1: going to be. And it has had some that resisted
- 11:39Speaker 1: the change. And because it's just different. It's not that
- 11:41Speaker 1: it can't be that, it's not you can't still succeed,
- 11:44Speaker 1: it's just different, you know.
- 11:45Speaker 4: And imagine like coming from an artist also like imagine
- 11:49Speaker 4: making it in like one version of the music industry
- 11:53Speaker 4: and then like being completely like just like start over.
- 11:57Speaker 3: It's like it's going to be horrible. Yeah, yeah, and
- 12:00Speaker 3: there is.
- 12:00Speaker 2: And it's funny because like I know, talking to a.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Lot of artists and knowing a lot personally myself that
- 12:05Speaker 1: there is definitely that there's a whole mix. And it's
- 12:08Speaker 1: something though I find quite interesting just to see how
- 12:11Speaker 1: different people approach it because you've got these guys who
- 12:14Speaker 1: were there, made it in the old school, you know,
- 12:16Speaker 1: had their management, record label, you know, records and a
- 12:20Speaker 1: store kind of thing, that are now still prevalent and
- 12:24Speaker 1: still relevant and still doing stuff that.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Had to make that change. And you know, for a
- 12:28Speaker 2: long time, you.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Know they would they'd say, you know, the music and
- 12:32Speaker 1: you know a lot of us aren't making doing it
- 12:35Speaker 1: for the money, but they still can be you know,
- 12:37Speaker 1: attraction in the maid and money to be made.
- 12:39Speaker 4: But of course it's got to I mean money, it
- 12:42Speaker 4: has to be made at some point, right.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Exactly, And you know, for a long time, you know,
- 12:47Speaker 1: the idea is obviously like live gigs and merch were
- 12:49Speaker 1: like the two big money spinners, which you know, yes,
- 12:53Speaker 1: but like there's still other ways that you can still
- 12:56Speaker 1: in your money pool. And so to see the few
- 12:59Speaker 1: that I've been on that side and to jump over
- 13:02Speaker 1: to the new way and still making it is kind
- 13:05Speaker 1: of cool.
- 13:06Speaker 2: But I think too also have.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Got that that fan base that was established and well
- 13:12Speaker 1: and you know, well, doesn't matter what they do and
- 13:13Speaker 1: how they do it, they're gonna you have.
- 13:15Speaker 4: That kind of like whatever you start with, right it's
- 13:19Speaker 4: like it's like you gotta you gotta you've gotta do
- 13:21Speaker 4: all sides of it. You just gotta have like you
- 13:23Speaker 4: just gotta have curiosity and work all all angles. And
- 13:27Speaker 4: I mean like coming from also a big difference right
- 13:30Speaker 4: now with TikTok is like.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah, TikTok and the fan base interaction, that's that's a
- 13:35Speaker 1: really big thing. And you see the guys that do
- 13:37Speaker 1: do it, they're the ones that have that and it's fansie.
- 13:41Speaker 1: It's great because it's you know, that interaction whereas before,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you know, a rock star would be like this untouchable
- 13:46Speaker 1: like you know, enigma, whereas fans feel like they're engaged
- 13:51Speaker 1: and involved and when they respond, and I think it
- 13:55Speaker 1: really strengthens that fan base.
- 13:57Speaker 2: If anything, it's definitely a positive.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Things as well.
- 14:00Speaker 4: And like looking at TikTok, thing that I think, I
- 14:03Speaker 4: think the coolest thing right now with that thing is
- 14:06Speaker 4: also that it's not it's not even new bands. It's
- 14:09Speaker 4: like the Goo Goo Dolls and like the first single
- 14:14Speaker 4: that goes like viral for some reason, it's so strange.
- 14:19Speaker 4: You're like releasing your first like you're oh my god,
- 14:22Speaker 4: and just calling is coming out like we're trying to
- 14:24Speaker 4: promote this. Oh, it's so hard, and then you get
- 14:26Speaker 4: like completely train wrecked by like a song released in
- 14:29Speaker 4: two thousand and one, like you're like what.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Like what happening? Like how do I do? Funny? Like
- 14:36Speaker 3: going on?
- 14:36Speaker 1: And I guess too, it's probably because you've got a
- 14:38Speaker 1: whole bunch of you know, different generation of like younger
- 14:42Speaker 1: people who are on those platforms and that's there every
- 14:45Speaker 1: day that are finding music that they haven't heard it
- 14:47Speaker 1: and just going, yeah, this is this, Laps is good.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah exactly, I've never heard this before. How old is it?
- 14:54Speaker 3: In like two thousand and five and you're like, feel
- 14:56Speaker 3: so old.
- 14:58Speaker 2: It's even then?
- 15:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, it's horrible.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Those guys are twenty right now, by the way, that sucks.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Oh. I know, I have a nineteen year old and
- 15:08Speaker 2: a twenty.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Five year old, so I oh, there you go, there
- 15:10Speaker 3: you go, There you go.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Nightmare in wine millennials, and I'm like, there you go,
- 15:18Speaker 1: there you go. So it's funny like sometimes we find
- 15:21Speaker 1: that that happy meeting where we both enjoy.
- 15:23Speaker 2: You know, my girls, you know, they've got good education
- 15:26Speaker 2: and good music.
- 15:27Speaker 3: That way, it's beautiful.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I love music from all these different genres.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You know, I ever categorized myself into one or the other.
- 15:35Speaker 1: You know, I'm hardcore rock, I love my hip hop rap,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and I'll even get getting a hord down, throw it down, you.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Know in some music.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean that's that's our thing. Also as soulons,
- 15:45Speaker 4: like we don't we don't care about genres. We're just
- 15:47Speaker 4: inspired by by what we do. And I think the
- 15:50Speaker 4: why we chose rock music is not really a choice.
- 15:53Speaker 4: It's like more something that's like we wanted to give
- 15:56Speaker 4: our songs like the maximum experience or something like that.
- 16:00Speaker 4: So I think like for us, it's also like it's
- 16:02Speaker 4: pop songs, but it's also like it's it's really heavy,
- 16:06Speaker 4: so it's kind of.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Like it's it's it's just it's just whatever we we
- 16:10Speaker 3: we feel, you know.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And so with your your life like doing lo gigs
- 16:14Speaker 1: and stuff. Have you guys done many of those before?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Is it something that you want to do more of?
- 16:18Speaker 3: Or yeah, I mean, I mean we we want to
- 16:21Speaker 3: we want to play more.
- 16:22Speaker 4: So so the majority of our of our of our
- 16:25Speaker 4: catalog is released during the pandemic. So the first show
- 16:29Speaker 4: we ever did wash was uh with five fing a
- 16:32Speaker 4: death punch, I don't know week. So we're like, we're like,
- 16:36Speaker 4: I did I blacked out? Like I was like I
- 16:38Speaker 4: was like, what is going on? Like I went on
- 16:42Speaker 4: some kind of like I went on some kind of
- 16:43Speaker 4: like my my my body and my mouth did the
- 16:46Speaker 4: thing that it was supposed to, but my brain wasn't
- 16:49Speaker 4: like communicating between that.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Like it's just like it's such a real experience. Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 4: And also playing the live you sit there in the
- 16:57Speaker 4: studio and like finish something, put it out into the
- 16:59Speaker 4: world and it's somehow got these numbers, but.
- 17:02Speaker 3: You've never seen the you've never seen the people.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Right, So so for us it was it's been a
- 17:08Speaker 4: total learning experience.
- 17:09Speaker 3: But also right now twenty twenty five. Coming from it
- 17:12Speaker 3: three years.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Later, we are really excited about developing our sound live
- 17:18Speaker 4: and also developing whatever we feel like we want to
- 17:22Speaker 4: do when it comes to the live experience, and we
- 17:25Speaker 4: want to give fans the opportunity to experience Soula's life
- 17:30Speaker 4: and he just calling the album is basically written with
- 17:33Speaker 4: a lot of mind or a lot of live stuff
- 17:36Speaker 4: in mind. So it's been a great learning experience. Is
- 17:40Speaker 4: something that's very It's huge in the rock industry, live music, right,
- 17:44Speaker 4: so it's a nig part of it.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's some of having that conversation with another artist
- 17:50Speaker 1: I was talking to just before that.
- 17:51Speaker 2: You know, COVID really did.
- 17:53Speaker 1: It messed everything up, like it really changed the world
- 17:56Speaker 1: that we knew and everything that we.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Thought was never going to be taken away.
- 18:00Speaker 1: And so when COVID hit it, really I felt like
- 18:03Speaker 1: one thing that it really killed and impact was music
- 18:07Speaker 1: and live music particular, because so many of us would
- 18:11Speaker 1: have done anything for an overpriced beer at a shitty
- 18:13Speaker 1: venue in a plastic cup, you know, just to experience
- 18:16Speaker 1: live music. And when we have that restrictions lifted off
- 18:21Speaker 1: and come out. I really felt that the live music scene,
- 18:25Speaker 1: you're just even locally. It had people showing up, turning
- 18:28Speaker 1: up because we could not be you know, whereas before
- 18:31Speaker 1: it was like an option, it wasn't Whereas if you
- 18:33Speaker 1: take that away from us, it's like, no, we want
- 18:35Speaker 1: to be here in present. And I you know, sort
- 18:38Speaker 1: of seems that definitely, the live live rock music and
- 18:41Speaker 1: just live music in general is really it's kind of
- 18:44Speaker 1: quite a healthy status.
- 18:46Speaker 2: So to seem.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So yeah, and it's some you know it as even
- 18:51Speaker 1: like you know, cover bands are playing it like just
- 18:53Speaker 1: local small venues and whatnot. And I mean some of
- 18:55Speaker 1: those guys are able to make a full time job
- 18:56Speaker 1: out of it, you know, because they can they can
- 18:58Speaker 1: look like you're in there and everywhere and some yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: and so you know, the face of music definitely, I agree,
- 19:04Speaker 1: it's it's it's certainly different change, but it's far from
- 19:08Speaker 1: being over and done with an AI you A, I
- 19:10Speaker 1: will never replace that experience between an artist and their
- 19:14Speaker 1: live audience.
- 19:14Speaker 2: You know, that's you can't you can't replace that. You can't.
- 19:18Speaker 4: No, I mean, if they it's got to be like
- 19:20Speaker 4: hologram thing right, it doesn't whatever, let's see what happens,
- 19:28Speaker 4: you know, like a sci fi movie.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Holograms have to use your mind.
- 19:35Speaker 3: It would be like, oh what have I doing?
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we have everyone in the twenty seven Club on
- 19:40Speaker 1: stage at once you know.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Oh my god, that would be crazy.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Yeah, nothing, nothing is impossible. Yeah, we get we get
- 19:50Speaker 4: to experience we are the world in person like that
- 19:53Speaker 4: be sick.
- 19:55Speaker 2: It would be so cool, Like.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Everyone's like yeah.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Exactly, yeah, and look you never knows that. We laugh
- 20:05Speaker 2: about it now, but we could be looking back at this.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And not too far future and we're going are the money.
- 20:11Speaker 3: That's the That's been the situation for far too many things.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, Like an episode of the System, they predict
- 20:17Speaker 1: the future.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:19Speaker 4: The only thing we're missing right now is flying cars, right,
- 20:22Speaker 4: I think that's that's basically it.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 1: An Australian artist called Seth Century and he's got a
- 20:27Speaker 1: song called hopper Board. It's like, oh sorry, it's called
- 20:29Speaker 1: de science and it's like science, where's my hobaboard?
- 20:32Speaker 2: I've been waiting for it since the eighties.
- 20:34Speaker 3: That's cool exactly.
- 20:36Speaker 2: It reminds me of board flying cars.
- 20:40Speaker 1: It's but in saying that, though there is technology with
- 20:43Speaker 1: drones that have I was hearing about not that long back.
- 20:46Speaker 1: That it's enough to transport like people like passengers to
- 20:50Speaker 1: like an uber service that will actually take hold from
- 20:53Speaker 1: place to place without being on the road or flight
- 20:55Speaker 1: pass et ce next time, just teleport me. When we
- 21:00Speaker 1: got teleportation down part, I know we've won.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a big thing. I would like to be teleported.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I hate this flight, dude.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, there's still too much risk involved. Just teleport me, exactly. Indeed.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Oh that's well, well that's exciting.
- 21:14Speaker 1: So so when the officially your new tracks are out,
- 21:18Speaker 1: what state for those is the Is it the.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Twenty first, thirty first of October?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Halloween? Wow? Some spooky Halloween vibes. Was that plans to
- 21:28Speaker 2: do it.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Exactly the day? No?
- 21:30Speaker 4: No, no, no, it was actually planned to do it before,
- 21:32Speaker 4: but there was some there was rescheduling, rescheduling.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Yeah, our label at the Friday is world music Release Day.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Everyone releases new music on Friday. Sorry exactly.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yes, it's happens to be Thurday thirty sorry, thirty first,
- 21:51Speaker 1: which is yes, Halloween.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So yeah, that's kind of cool. That's exciting. So how
- 21:56Speaker 2: many tracks are on Angel's coin.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I think it's ten, right, I think there was like
- 22:02Speaker 4: there's a few interludes, but there are ten tracks, but
- 22:05Speaker 4: there are they are bringing the punch, So it's a
- 22:09Speaker 4: it's a short album, but I'd rather have you really
- 22:12Speaker 4: listen to it than to Actually it's over real perfect
- 22:17Speaker 4: perfect length exactly, yeah, exactly.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think there is a perfect length to
- 22:21Speaker 1: a song. You know, between that two minutes thirty three
- 22:23Speaker 1: minutes is match. So usually what most people tend to lose,
- 22:28Speaker 1: lose interests, otherwise lose attention span.
- 22:30Speaker 2: It's getting shorter and shorter, exactly. Yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Also, well, it's been a lot of speaking with you, Marcus,
- 22:36Speaker 1: so I wish you guys all the best in your
- 22:40Speaker 1: coming months and as you come into winter, we'll be
- 22:43Speaker 1: lounging on the bag.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Yeah coming. It's like I think there's one degree here
- 22:48Speaker 3: right now. So yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's probably been about and maybe the well we not
- 22:55Speaker 1: far in night we're sells. He So it's been in
- 22:56Speaker 1: the twenties today, so I'm.
- 23:00Speaker 3: A little I'm a little bit jealous, but that's fine.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I don't like you when it's like full summer, like
- 23:04Speaker 1: you can get like the high thirties, which is just horrible.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Yeah, very hot.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's perfect at the moment so very enjoyable
- 23:15Speaker 1: and we're just always good to get to snuggle up
