Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Right, it's uh special episode of Let's Tit Together, and we've got two former guests, two of the tip top customers that we have on.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: We've got James Aubrey and Henry Croft.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: We're gonna run through some questions from you.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: We're in Amsterdam, so we're gonna talk obviously about the World Cup, our prep, hopefully give some good responses.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: But first of all, actually, do we do we just want to crack on orbs?
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna just shoot you a question straight away.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: We're three days away from our first game against Pakistan.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Like, when did we get here?
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Um, how's prep been?
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: You feeling good?
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Great to be here, Phil.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Great to be back.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, we got here three days ago, I believe.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: A rather long travel day uh from St.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Pancras on the train.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Uh a little bit of training in the evening, a little bit of training yesterday, day off today, practice game tomorrow against New Zealand, very exciting.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Uh, and then yeah, play at the weekend.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Boys are feeling good.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, nice, nice hotel, lots of good coffee shops around, but uh yeah, focused, I'd say, ready to rumble.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Sweet and Henry, um Henry, that is weird, isn't it?
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: My bad.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: Um please use all pain.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: What is his full name?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Fatima Pork, or for short fat pork.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, coming to you, Paul.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: How have you created a home away from home?
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be here for potentially three weeks, two and a half weeks if we don't go over to Wara, uh depending on semi-finals, matchups, that type of thing.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Um, how are you creating a home away from home?
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: We've got the PS5 dialed in, but we haven't got any Wi-Fi signal, which is gutting.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: We've tried to play a bit of Fortnite, slagging.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: It's it's caused a few problems, hasn't it, James?
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Frustrating.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Um we've tried to drop in a few times, still got that problem.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna have to get to the semi-finals to get a better wifi signal.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: The only option.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Should we just crack on straight away?
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: We um our our our graphics guy, shout out to Jack Berry, who's uh who's been straight on it.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Ask asking me to get some content out here.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: We we asked you guys, we got quite a lot of uh questions.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: We're gonna run through as many as possible.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll maybe answer a few, but mainly go to go to these guys.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, first, very first question, and it's from R.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Baker.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Who is the best roommate to have?
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Or should we do best and worst roommate?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: That's better, maybe.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Thanks for the question, R.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Baker.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Um worst roommate would be pork.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Um that's not right.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: No, it is true.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: You're good between the hours of six in the evening and eight.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: And even that is a is a stretch at times, but that's generally how long we drop in for on Fortnite.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Um, and best roommate, uh well, I sh I share with Wardie, so that that's all yeah, I've only ever shared with Wardy, so I don't know what the others are like.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Um, but I don't think he's the best, just to clarify.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: I think the worst has to be a keeper at the moment, because we've had a little bit of an issue with knowing where to put keeper kits.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: So currently Walla and Payno are using uh well, brushing their teeth next to a fat goalkeeper kit, so that's not ideal.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: Um and then best.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Phil, you're pretty good.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: You brought the putter, you let me do my thing with the PS5.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: We got pretty dialed in, and that'd be for you for it.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Appreciate that, mate.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: It's it is an interesting like uh insight into our hotel life.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: When we we got here, we're in a real nice hotel.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: But the normal thing to do is when you're living in a hotel is to put your smelly shoes outside or something that you can't do.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: But we uh Crofty got into an argument with the uh hotel manager yesterday because she was quite aggressive in telling him he could not have his shoes outside of the hotel.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: And um I mean it is fair for you because you have really smelly feet, but we are addressing it.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: We are addressing it, okay.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Right, let's go for the next one.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Uh maybe we've already answered this already, but concept underscore gear says, What do you do to relax before a big game will come to you, Crofty?
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: I don't really relax, do I?
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: No.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Um I have lots of pancakes.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Um a lot of relaxing goes on in my room.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: James, you relax at all?
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Uh no, not really.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: No, I I like to to go for coffee, but that's not necessarily to relax before a game.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: That's just just a general uh yeah, pastime, I guess.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't really feel there's a need to relax before a game.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: You know, don't want to get too up too early, but just a normal regular day, I think, is best.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Good response.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: This is a tough question because two people, I can't believe this, but two people wrote in like back to back, Ramos the Slamos, shout out, and also Ramis Raymond, um, both asked who can bench the most in our team.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: Uh best bench in the squad is uh Stu Rushmere um or Tom Sorsby.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: They like to get after it.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think it would be Bandy uh if he trained, but he's not allowed to bench heavy uh because he will become too swole uh and he's already pretty swole.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: So uh yeah, they're probably the top three.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Um can't think of anything else.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: So back thanks for the question though, guys.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, next question.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Uh Katie Warner, X-Psych, asks who has the best pregame moves and who is the easiest to wind up?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: So I'll I'll answer the second one because I think the easiest person to wind up is Stu Rushmere.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Like he he rage quits a lot recently.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: He's he he rage quit uh two-touch football when we were playing that yesterday pre-training just because someone booted the ball at him.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: So he has become a bit of a rage quitter.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Has anyone got any additions on that?
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Parker's pretty easy to wind up as well.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: He gets a lot of heat, so maybe that's tough.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: But um press best pre-game moves, either of you?
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Shroudel's got good moves, but he's not.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Strudel has got great moves, but he's Shroom Walker.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Shroomwalker, sorry.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, he's he's uh he's not English.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, which he likes really he likes to remind us.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, but I wouldn't say anyone else is really m grooving pre-game.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Shout out to Calnan because he can.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Pre-game move.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Um Mark Leopard, which English player has the biggest feet and who is the prankster in the England camp?
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Maz has got big dogs.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: He's got big dogs, yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: Right foot down, bash.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: Uh prankster.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, it is cowman, it's always cowman.
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: It's cowman.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Right, someone has asked a real weird question, so I'm gonna just skip over that.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: A it was actual asthmatic or TDF style asthma.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: That was that was oh, that's the Liverpool thing, isn't it?
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Is it yeah?
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Well I think like all the Liverpool team when they join, they go for their medical and then they get told that they have asthma.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, right, yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: So they're all on their inhalers.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: We have a few with actual asthma.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Pork struggles to breathe because his nose doesn't work.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, no, I I think that's I think that's the question.
- 8:09unknown: Okay.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Right, next one, um AJC Bump, who has AJC Bump.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, I guess we've already said this.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Who is the worst person to get his roommate to goalie?
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Um Pinna designed best scran in Netherlands.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Like, have we hit any good restaurants up?
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Like, what's the food like in the hotel?
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Let's go, let's go on.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: So we went to what do we go for?
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: Malva Malva?
- 8:32unknown: Malva.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: We've been to one restaurant, we went to Malva, and we got fried chicken with a little bit of piripi and a liter of cream.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: It was insanely bad.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Really not good.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: It was bad.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: We felt we came away feeling pretty pretty bad, didn't we, Phil?
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: Um, that's all we've had.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Hotel food's been alright.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: Been alright.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Thoughts on the hotel food?
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: I've enjoyed the hotel food so far.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: The only thing I would say is that the plates here are very small, um, which is a bit frustrating, especially for the likes of Pork, uh, who yeah, just struggles to keep it all on his plate.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: But food's been great so far.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Agree with that.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I guess the next two from Alex Cohen and Fast Forward 24, pretty similar questions.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: What are you allowed to do in your downtime?
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Do you have any of the trip to yourself?
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: How much freedom is there?
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Um I guess to answer that, we get a daily schedule.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: The the sometimes, especially in the build-up to tournaments, it's it's not crazy heavy, so you get a lot of time to, as we do a lot, go out for coffee, um, go a bit exploring.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Amsterdam's a seriously cool place to be because there's there's plenty of stuff to do, but we do have uh plenty of flexibility, I would say.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Um do any of us do anything different apart from go for coffee and food?
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: We we roll puts.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, good point.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Me and Orbs have brought our putters, so we've been doing a bit of putting.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: I don't know if that's that interesting, but I mean like some boys live in the boys go and see their family, so he's got his dog here.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: Man light Ralph.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: I want to bet that nobody right through a couple of these then.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Do the youngsters have to carry the bags?
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: It's a great question.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: They don't have to.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Um they should, is is the way of putting that.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: But they don't.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: We all uh it doesn't yeah, everyone uh mucks in and grabs the bags, but yeah, if it was up to me, they would.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Um and that was from uh from Brett.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Brett.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Zoe um Biggs, I think you might have mistook us because she says, What supplements do the women take?
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: And uh we can't we can't answer that because um I I don't know.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Uh sorry, Zoe.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Turmeric, they take turmeric orbs.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Um any lucky rituals as a team or individual that you would say we have?
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Any lucky rituals?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we have a big squeeze pre-game.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: Uh we have a team stretch, not not like obviously we do a warm-up, but we have a team stretch.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Um, nothing particularly lucky.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: This was always dangerous getting these two on because um yeah, yeah, we'll just move on.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Um Tom Carson's asked two questions, which I'll I'll come to you, Croft.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: If you all play it's a classic Tom Carson question, founder of Y1.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Shout out Y1.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Um, if you all played with 20-inch sticks, what world ranking would we be?
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: And who is paid the most in the team?
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Just to clarify, 20 inches is smaller, isn't it?
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Not bigger.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: That is a stupid question.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: What size stick?
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: Okay, fine, smaller, a lot smaller.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: World ranking.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: Well, we'd be bottom.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: No, uh I think we'd be number one.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: Well, because Jammer plays with a 20 inch inch stick normally, so he would be an absolute baller.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Nursey uses a 22-inch stick, so there'd be he's chopping down a couple of inches, you know.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: I think we'd go straight to number one if you look at our team.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Wardy's arms would reach the floor anyways.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: That's not a bloody wings, man.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: The only one that I would obviously struggle um changing from you know such a height.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: Um I think yeah.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: Sanford Chipcello just holds his Sanford's back would be in pieces.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: We'd have to get another a new centre back in.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: But we are quite a vertically challenged team.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Um no difference there then.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, number one, Carlson.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: Uh, who gets paid the most?
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Uh oh, that's a horrible question.
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: Oh maybe you answer it.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: It's a hospital poor pass pork.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: Um, who's the most paid the most?
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Um, well, that's a great question.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Do you want me to take on?
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, Phil, are you gonna are you gonna are you gonna die old?
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Uh it's Phil Roper.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: That's why we're struggling with this.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: The man is an absolute cash cow.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, yeah, buys all the coffees.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Um look, this is purely speculation, but we love a bit of speculation.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I mean, if I was to have a guess, right?
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm having a guess.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, we don't know.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: We it's not I I think it's fairly to say we don't share salaries, or I don't think we share salaries, but like I would say that you know ZW7 is he's not he's not getting paid nothing from Blumendar from Grace, you know, come on, and also Sam Ward.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: You know, if I'm taking a a top two guess, then they're my top two.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: I might be wrong, but that's my guess.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Is that fair or not?
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: I think it's fair.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: I'm also saying uh that Sandy may have been in the question at some point, um but yeah, when he had his job alongside yeah um yeah, who's that coin?
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Maybe who's got might have a couple pennies.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: He's a smart man.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Pure speculation.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Please don't hold us to any of this.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: Allegedly.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: Allegedly.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: This is uh also probably the irony is not lost on me that three OGs players sat are sat saying it's other people.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: But anyway, let's move on.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Uh OGs.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Do we?
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Um speaking of OGs, uh one of the one of the big dogs at ODs, Thomas Doran, has has messed in.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Is Sam Ward better at catching moles or scoring goals?
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Now I have to probably provide some context here.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Is that um Sam Ward we all know does score goals, but he also had a mole problem in his back garden.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And it it it for ver for quite a while it became his whole whole personality.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: He got a t-shirt about it, he told every person about um his the mole in his back garden and catching him.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: So I'll probably Orbs is one of his best friends.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Can you answer that question?
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Uh he's been fairly successful with the moles.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, they were gone for a long time, but they uh recently um yeah, they are relentless, they've come back.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: He did actually as well bear in mind that he doesn't know you very well when he caught the first mole.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: He sent a photo of it to Yupe saying, I've caught you completely out of context.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, no, yeah, the moles are back, so um at the moment, probably scoring goals.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: It's a great response.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Um, this is a great question.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Who are the best and worst corridor cricketers?
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: I think we've alluded to this in the past.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Like, we definitely have like we we play quite a lot of corridor cricket.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: We actually went to the park and played a bit of cricket uh today.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Um me and uh Crofty didn't play, me and Orbes were there.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm definitely near the bottom, but like I wouldn't say I'm the worst.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Um I'm very enthusiastic.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Um I'll put myself, I'll say I'll sorry, put my ratings out there and say that Sam Hooper performed well with the ball with the ball, with the bat, less so.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Um worst player.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: I didn't like Tim Nurse's form.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Is that fair?
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: No, Nursey is horrible to watch, actually.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but an absolute delight if you're stood in the slipcord and when he's batting.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, I wouldn't really add too much to that.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Um, Stu Rashmere, just a lovely, lovely all-rounder.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and and some other good performers out there, but yeah, I would I would agree with you.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: So the next next chap is called Hall Hockey.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think he actually um has put some videos out recently.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: He's a content creator, young content creator.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: He put Croft in the Pro League.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have a word with you here, Hall hockey, if you are listening, because you put Crofty in the World Eleven Pro League, but you put him at right midfield.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Now, if you put Croft anywhere near anywhere apart from the D, is is is less effective.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: I will go with.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Is this fair Croft?
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: No, he was spot on.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: Me and Zaki were gonna be pulling strings in there.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: I'll get the ball and I'll give it to Zach, and we'll be cooking.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: No, I love you, Hawkeye mate.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Well said that.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: What happened the last time that you passed one to Zach?
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: Think think think thinking I panicked in the corner and I thought I'm gonna hit a little fake, a little fake hit.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: And the guy sort of moved, and I thought, yeah, brilliant, I've got him.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: I'll whack it down the line.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Little do I know, our best players come five metres away to help me out, and I smash him on the knee.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: You know, corner.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's we didn't answer your question, Hor hockey, because you asked about the nutrition, but we've already covered that, it was just nice, nice segue.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: Um, hockey captured, asking a bit of a badgery question, but we're welcoming them all.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: What kind of media requirements are placed on players by FIH or England?
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, unfortunately, we have to keep appearing on these podcasts, um, which are very time consuming.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: And unpaid as well, unpaid labour.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: That's just me though.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: You can you can step that, isn't it?
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: That's just Phil.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Uh Phil and I actually uh had to do some content the other day.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: We did a carpool karaoke uh with Shrew and Walker, which I don't think they'll show much of, um, as we weren't particularly good viewing.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: I mean, we had a lot of fun.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I'm not sure how good the content will be from that.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: Shroom was particularly upset with us by the end.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, not not I mean, yeah, some some media requirements, I wouldn't say loads.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, people love uh asking Croft at the moment to uh you you've been asked to do a lot of media recently, haven't you?
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: You do you not remember?
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: No, you did the channel four thing.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, sorry.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: I do like my food.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: They call me pork.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Um you remember that interview?
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: I remember that.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: A couple of TikToks as well.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Did one of my mouse.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: I don't actually know that's gonna come out at any point, but it's it's good stuff.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, we have a good time.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would say we're not inundated with media requests, are we?
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: It's manageable.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: We've done some we've done some FIH headshots, we've done some England headshots, we've got a bit of content coming, I'm sure.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, not not not too much.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Uh we've said uh Rory, thanks for the message, but we've got practice games against New Zealand um in the build-up.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Um, what's life around the hotel?
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Jay.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: But we've probably uh how do you avoid boredom whilst trying to behave professionally?
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Now I am probably gonna ask you this, Croft, uh, because this is a good question for you, isn't it?
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: It's a real fine line, you know.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: We play two touch, it's gotta be good standards.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: Otherwise, you could smash a roof.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: That's the sort of thing we do.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: Same with corridor cricket, you've got to be careful there's not a manager around.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: Might get told off.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: You've got to be all right, haven't you?
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: Phil was thinking he was gonna get there.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Oh right.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Uh well.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: Uh you are the wrong person.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: I think that was a good answer.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: You gotta answer.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: I'm not the mic answer.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: That was a real weird standoff we just had just now.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Um do you feel like every team sorry, Max Um Strubrate, I d I debutchered your name.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Do you feel like every team has the same or very similar hotel camp life?
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Any big differences?
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Um, the one big personality difference I would say is like, and I'm not sure if this is the same for most cultures, but what I've experienced is that as English people we are incredibly harsh to each other and we're very mean to each other, and I don't think I think that would be a big difference.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Like our hotel life is basically if anyone gives you any reason to give them shit, you will give them lots of shit.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Um which I think is is probably a bit of a difference.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: I would say that probably hotel life is very similar to most teams.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Would you agree, Orbs, or not?
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: It's a really good question.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Uh I think we probably play more games than other teams.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Like more more cricket, more two touch.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Um but that that also could be a complete and utter myth.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Do you think if we had a football game against the other nations, yeah, do you think we'd win the World Cup?
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: If we'd have sacked the hockey off and played football games.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Football against the teams.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: What do you reckon?
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: It's one of those.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: If I say anything other than yes here, then I'm not backing our own ability.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: I think in reality we've got some absolute howlers that make our first eleven football.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: We do have some plugs.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: We do have a couple of plugs.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: We do have a couple of plugs.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Which other teams might have as well.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: They might.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I think?
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: I do think that this about football is that I have I think people are so like you, for example, Croft, is that you you think you're a serious pleur.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: So like no, no, no.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: You're not that good.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: And I think people get overexcited about this.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Like they think they can play because you just kick the ball around, play a bit of two-touch.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's it's more difficult than that, isn't it?
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: We're we're all on the spectrum, like we're athletes, so we can play and we can run around, but we're we're not good footballers.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Just you know, it's interesting as well.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: People would say, like, you know, would if it was a cricket option, we would probably say we'd back our abilities, but there are also other nations that are a lot maybe not more humble, but they they wouldn't think that of themselves, you know.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Like you know, we turn up, we play against New Zealand, and they just they they take out our top six in the first three overs.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, and also that their opening pairs put on 200, you know, because we have we have one bowler.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: We've got no one that can bowl a legitimate delivery uh after the first two openers.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So yeah, uh yeah, this is this is not the question that was asked.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: It's a great it's a much better segment.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, whoever you are, Max.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thanks for the question.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: But if the if the hockey world cup down tools and became a cricket or football world cup, yes, it's coming home.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, right.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Delusional is the great, it's the right word.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Um, Toby Walter, shout out to you, Toby.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: What is the day in the life of of me at the World Cup?
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's that exciting.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: Coffee, a little bit of work, maybe.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: Um shout up, bit of gaming, even though I'm way too old for that.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: But anyway, we're gonna move on.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Max asked another question, and this is interesting, but like I'll give my take first of all.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Who is going to be the most important player for each top nation at this World Cup?
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Now, I already talked to Parky about this because it would be very easy to sit here and say a drag flicker or a goalkeeper.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: So if we take the drag flickers and goalies out, and we just say let's do we're gonna do the men because because I think our knowledge is is probably lacking a little bit to to throw out the women's names.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: So uh let's just go Holland, Germany, Belgium, Australia.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Is that okay?
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Orbs is ready, orbs is ready.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Uh which which one do you want me to do first?
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Belgium.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, should we go quick fire?
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: I thought you were gonna say the Belgian.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Oh no, I don't know the buddy blessed.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: No, no, I'm interviewing you.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: Belgium.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Uh but you can't have so you can't have Tom Boo.
- 25:23unknown: No.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: Uh well you can, you can, because he's playing this book.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: He's he has a drag clickable book, like you know what I mean.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: No, okay, I'm not gonna go with that anyway.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with uh Dislova.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: And uh Holland goes.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Holland, uh Derek Devilder Australia.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm gonna say I'm gonna go with Liam Henderson Germany oh my favourite player, Tom Grambus.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Right, quick Oh bro, I don't have the ball knowledge for this.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Uh we'll go with if that will change the segment.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: Name one player from these nations Belgium.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: Uh the keeper Van Doren.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: He's not a keeper.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: He didn't oh for goodness Get him out, get him out of showing up.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: Oh god, yeah uh Holland, Herman Black Australia, Jamie Dwyer, New Zealand, Chris Woods cross it out, cross different um okay uh Jack Berry, who is I think I think our graphics guy, unless there's a different one, has has asked a very good question.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: If you could pick a former England player to be part of this squad, who would it be and why?
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: This is good good.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: You you got any knowledge here, Croft?
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, probably Alistair Cook.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: I think we've looked weak up top for a number of years.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Um and with it with him and Duckett, I think that you know that that's a lovely balance.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: The only issue is the only issue is that we've got two left-handers at the top of the order, but him and Strauss together were formidable, so I think it has to be cookie.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: Brilliant answer.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: I completely agree with James.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Now let's try it for the Fields hockey team.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: James?
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: Um, I think I would oh that's actually a very good question.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: It's hard to look past Ash in his prime as arguably the greatest G well sorry, the greatest English player.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Um but then again, our midfield is is very strong, so it maybe is a bit of a waste.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Um I think I'd probably go with Louie uh at fullback.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Ian Lewis, I think I'd go with him at fullback, um, and then he could play instead of me, and I could relax a bit more.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: Um I just think yeah, probably slightly underrated in terms of how good he was.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: I think he'd fit in nicely into our team as well.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: So I think just because I didn't have enough time with him, I want Mark Glegorn in the team because he's mental and at Beast, and it was hilarious.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: But I only had him for one year.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: I want him back, I want to watch some of these stories, I want to see the stories.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: So I'm going, Mark.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: Hey Mark.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Wrong answers only for Croft, Jesus Lord, get Glegorn.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: If Glegg came back, there would be a fell-shaped hole in that door over there.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Spent way too much time with that man.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Um, I actually had Rick Mantel, yeah, prime Rick Mantel.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: I I also agree, like Ash and Barrett, easy answers.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they get a lot of love on this pod, but like Rick Mantel was an unbelievable player in his prime, and the way that he could pass over basically zero to 90 yards on a dime was a lot of trapping, man.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that I mean trapping the ball would be a problem for a lot of us, but yeah.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: And let's let's finish it off.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: That was a that was a good question.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: There's there's um there's two more questions.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Willows, willow acorns, it's a weird name.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Uh, if you could room with anyone in any team, male or female, who would you choose and who would you avoid?
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Male or female is a slightly strange question.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Um a bit of hassle, I think.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: Um yeah.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: Choose to choose one, avoid one.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: This is perfect for you because one avoid one.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, from any other nation who's at the World Cup.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Any other nation, yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: I can answer yours if you'd like.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: I think I think you're avoiding either Arthur De Slover or Florence Vortelbour as they hate you.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: No, I like Floris.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: Well, Venig doesn't like you either, Crofts.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd avoid Vene either.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Crof's not that popular with uh Holland and Belgium.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Are you do you want to answer?
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: Who would I want to room with?
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: I'd rather room with Hardek, he was a geezer.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: Hordy loves him as well.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Uh who would I avoid?
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: I'd avoid Mittendor.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: We wouldn't get along.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: He didn't understand my banter.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: That was that.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: Uh who would I share with?
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: That is a good question.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: Maybe if probably Lars uh Bollock from from the Netherlands.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: Very, very cool guy, very chilled though as well, you know.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: And then if I needed, I could still go to Pork's room to drop in and then come back to a bit of peace and quiet.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Go into Crofty and Hardic's room.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: Dropping in.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm avoiding Yupe for obvious reasons.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: I couldn't do any more than three hours with him.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, I know who I'd avoid.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry, Paul.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: I I would avoid El Chocolates Rafa Villa Lunga.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: Um, because like Pork, he he is excellent for for a few hours, but when it's 12 o'clock in the evening and he's losing his marbles, playing FIFA, smashing TV screens, um, yeah, he would be quite a long way at the bottom of my list.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we've had a bit of a bonus with this because we've actually uh the hockey in the league obviously gives you this experience, but I was gonna say that Jez Haywood was a fantastic roommate.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: Maybe lovely coffee, very chill vibes, I reckon.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, orbs is calling out Kitty Russell.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Last question from uh Oscar Heatherington Johns.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: That's a fancy name.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: Who brought the most sticks to the World Cup?
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: Do we know that question that question?
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, it was uh Wallings.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Walla! Uh yeah, Walla brought five um to the World Cup.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: Two new ones, two old ones, and maybe one extra.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: So that might be bad maths, maybe four.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Gosh.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Me.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Uh I brought three and a putter.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: I brought two for me, uh one for Phil and a putter.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: How many did you bring, Porky?
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: I brought two sticks and a PS5.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: And he brought five pairs of shoes because after he wears them three times they have to go in the bin because they smell so bad.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: I would say it's interesting, isn't it?
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Because when you would come to World Cup, you obviously want the perfect stick.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: We've all got on me and Orbs got our new new Y1 bats a couple of months ago.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: They're playing lovely, but then this is classic.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: I don't know, just as a I think Ash Ash uh had some Y1 sticks made.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: Um, and I picked them up in the office and they felt ridiculously nice.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: And then I basically asked Ash, can I have one of these sticks?
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Yeah, no worries.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Started playing with it, and now I just way prefer it to mine.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna be rocking around in in the with that one.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: I've got one, yeah, and I've made orbs bring that one too.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: Of course, mate.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: You know, if I rocked up with that stick, right, and I gave it to you, would you also think that that's a really nice stick?
- 33:30SPEAKER_02: Because I do think there's a lot of ash tax with that.
- 33:33SPEAKER_02: Because sometimes I'll give Ash a bat and it could say, I don't know, it could be a blank stick.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: And if I give it him, it's a crap stick.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: One of you give it him, he goes, Oh, yeah, that's a little twizzle.
- 33:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, that's an lovely stick.
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: So, other way around, I give you a stick or give you a stick.
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: Are you liking it or are you I don't know if I'm liking it.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: There's a good chance if I mistrap one, I think it's gotta be the stick.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's come from pork.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: Um, he's cursed it.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, no, I think I think you've you're on to a point there.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: I think that is fair, but also the fact that I knew Ash had ordered the exact same shape as mine, and the fact that the the carbon was just slightly different and felt nice would was also addition to that.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: Um, just very quickly before we go, um we have got games coming up against Pakistan, uh against India, and then against Wales, and then if anyone follows the format, I'm not gonna try and explain it, but we will have a second group stage, and if we do well in that, we will go to the semi-finals.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: Um, is there any advice, orbs?
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna come to you, is like how you're prepping yourself and to finish on a bit of a like a nice advice note, because I think people listen to this occasionally looking for advice, like how you're viewing the tournament and and how your mindset's been going in.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I think um very much trying to it's like sounds a bit generic and classic, but very much trying to just take it one game at a time.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: I think with the format, it's quite easy to try and look into the latter stages.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: But actually, if you don't do well in the first games, then you know you don't set yourself up as well.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: So just really focusing on the first game, and then on like a maybe a bit more of like a personal note, I'll be doing a lot of uh sort of visualization, um sort of imagining how the game's gonna go, imagining the type of way I want to play.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, just just trying to get a good feel for it before I get out there, and then it feels a bit more familiar once we get started.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Porky.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: I was just gonna say though you help us out quite a bit, don't you?
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Um I uh I'm pretty full on a lot of the time, so sometimes old readers has a little chat with me, don't you?
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: Um calm me down.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: I think my main thing is just to enjoy it and keep flowing through.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: As soon as I start thinking about bigger picture stuff, uh well, too much in my head.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: Not smart enough to do that, so that's me.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: But yeah, you got your leadership role as well, aren't you?
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: And yeah, keep it moving.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: So it's a good couple of responses, actually.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: It's uh it's interesting because we're all going through the different cycles.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Orbs uh second World Cup, already been to an Olympics, but Croft, I was I wasn't actually gonna ask you that question, but thank you for answering anyway.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: I was gonna ask you, you're going into your first big tournament, and like what are you excited for as a as a goal scorer?
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: As as like we've seen the stadium, I think to to set the scene, like Amsterdam is gonna be insanely cool, like the way that uh Holland does hockey is just unbelievable.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Uh, they've got like a like a full stage out the back, they've got many pitches, they've got really cool, cool stuff.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: Like, what are you excited for?
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: To be fair, like I've tried not to get too excited because I know if I start doing that, it will become a little bit too big.
- 36:48SPEAKER_02: Um, so excited to score, um, like always, but just trying to keep it steady, and then it'll probably be one of those things where you look back at it and go, Fuck, that was cool.
- 36:56SPEAKER_02: But for now, I'm just trying to keep nice and chill, otherwise, it will get too big too soon and I won't sleep.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: It's a good response, mate.
